Week 10 sleepers and two star pitchers up next on fantasy baseball today express Welcome into fpc express on Saturday, May 23rd. I am price ample join five. Scott white. Let's start off with the week 10 Schedule we have 22 teams with six games. We have eight teams with seven games the Orioles Cubs White socks Astros twins pirates Rangers and blue jays and of course I did not look up the Rockies I believe they are a split schedule once again, right? It's six games. They are three at home and three on the road That feels like that's been this all season long Star sit these two start pitchers up first. We have Kyle Brattish who has looked better as of late two tough-ish matchups against the rays and the blue jays Yeah, yeah, I look better of late and those matchups. What do we call them tough-ish? I think Yeah, Tampa is tough blue jays not so much, but yeah, I think you'd start Brattish in most every situation Not a must start, but just outside of that what about Tanner by the against the nationals and the Red Sox He has also gotten good results lately. These are also some bipolar matchups even more because Nationals are at the very top of a run scored Red Sox near the very bottom Surprisingly in both cases I would say But you know, and I don't know that by bees success Is the kind I totally buy into but he's in line for two starts and so I think in most cases you're gonna you're gonna roll with that Landon Roup has been really good the season. He gets the Dbacks in San Francisco But also on the road in Colorado. So do we use landon Roup? That Colorado started a little scary, but there have been plenty of pictures Who've gone into Colorado this year last year with offense being so bad and have done just fine In fact some of their best starts of the season came there So I think Landon Roup is Somebody that is advisable in all formats as well What about Shane Bars? He gets the raise in a revenge game once again. He did pitch well against them last time out and the blue jays Yeah, I don't think so I'm not buying in what about Sean Burke against the twins and the Tigers He's really come crashing back down to earth very hard and So I think it's a it's a no for me Edward Cabrera left his previous start with a blister So I guess we'll have to monitor that he's at the pirates and at the carols on paper the matchups aren't terrible Yeah, but I don't know the pirates rank higher than you think and run scored. I feel like the carnal's due to right Cardinals are like middle of the pack right and at work of bro just hasn't been pitching well So I'm gonna pass on him and then Griffin jacks is at the Orioles in the eight and home against the Angels those matchups are pretty good Yeah, they are they are pretty good. I might move him up I might move him up into the pointfully go only section of the two-star pitcher rankings Yeah, I like that as a spark. I could see using jacks next week Right now get into the two-star pitchers to add and stream all these names are rostered in less than 80% of CBS leagues and who are they? They are One of them is gonna be Griffin jacks now. I suppose because they just moved him ahead of What was the bottom on the list Jack lighter? I agree with that. I like I like Jacks more. Yeah, let's see Yeah, okay, so number one is Bryce Miller It's a miracle that he qualifies for this list as good as he looked in his last start He gets the athletics and the national those matchups could be better But I think I think Bryce Miller is trending toward being a must-start pitcher again. So take advantage Wow, there's a chance he's on the way for wire in your league Merrill Kelly got to love these matchups for Kelly giants and Mariners and He's been trending the right direction obviously Ben Brown gets the pirates in the Cardinals Those same matchups is Edward Cabrera, but Brown's actually been pitching well and you can start a mere relief pitcher if that matters to you Zabby Matthews has Look good since joining the rejoining the major league rotation even though he was struggling a triple A Seem like he was doing some different things down there in terms of pitch selection which may have worked to his detriment But normal a more typical pitch selection in the majors in Scott and good results. Zabby Matthews gets the white socks and the pirates I'd think I'd only use him in points leagues, but But yeah, he's dreamable in that format and then Griffin jacks All right, let's take a quick break and we'll be back right after this Welcome back in the FBT Express. We're here previewing week 10 and we left off with the one-star streamers on the pitching side. Who do you like there? One-star streamers Ryan Nelson got to put him on the list. He seems to be back on track He's facing a Mariners lineup that's been pretty shaky so far And I think he I just don't think Ryan Nelson should qualify for this list anymore, but he does so he's on it again At least at least I can put a good pitcher on here Logan Henderson Uh, is also trending toward no longer qualifying for this list, but he technically does and he hits the Cardinals and he Sometimes it starts run short, but he almost never misses at least so far and is majorly career So that seems like a pretty safe play Logan Anderson Seth Lugo Very up and down this year at Texas though. That's the third worst offensive baseball Uh, so I think uh, I think it's a fine time to use Seth Lugo Andrew Abbott It's done a good job keeping runs off the board lately the walks have been too high and the strikeouts too low and that might Prove to be an issue in the long run buddy's facing the Metz who've been better lately But have been especially bad against left-anders this year. So I think you have droppets fine play And then Eduardo Rodriguez who has taken advantage of some favorable matchups recently Gets another one at San Francisco Let's slide over to the hitters for next week the best matchups are the Cubs, Brewers, Rangers, Twins and Yankees The worst hitter matchups athletics, Braves, Cardinals, Dbacks and the Red Sox Who are your favorite sleeper hitters for week number 10? I actually like this slate of sleeper hitters for this week believe it or not And it begins with Travis Bazzana Who has been tremendous for the Guardians tons of steals tons of walks hitting well as well and only one left-hander on the schedule Which helps a left-handed hitter like them pretty good matchups too nationals Rotation for the first three games acolytel and Miles Michaelis in there. I love that Travis Bazzana Get him in there Spencer steer has been very hot And especially good against left-handed pitchers this year If I could pull up those numbers real quick Spencer Steers got a 326 batting average and a 10 11 OPS against lefties There are four on the schedule for the Reds this week Right behind him Casey Schmidt It is a similar situation for him the Giants have three lefties on the schedule in a six game week Casey Schmidt batting 362 with an 877 OPS against lefties you can start them all over the infield He's been hot anyway Brandon Marsh Every day player for the Phillies now much lower strikeout rate this year Only one lefty on the schedule for them and Some of the matchups include Griffin Canning Walker Bueller Rookie Sasaki Think Marsh's gonna have a good week. I think his teammate Alec Bome is going to have a good week too. He has been hot In fact I believe adding into the weekend. He has an 11 game-hending streak Might be slightly off on the number there, but he's been He's been uh he's been making up ground and again the Phillies have some favorable matchups coming up AJ Ewing I think you could justify starting him most any week the upside is such But particularly a week where the Mets are scheduled for seven games only one against the lefty Jake Bowers you mentioned the Brewers having the second best hitter matchups He does trade off a little bit with Andrew Vaughn Bowers does but the production has been there No lefties on the schedule obviously Bowers left handed hitter so that makes it more likely he's going to start and uh continue to deliver as he has so far on on Helm Martinez of the guardians Their matchups are very solid too. I actually Oh did I get the wrong matchups for somebody Okay, so I mentioned who did I mention was facing the nationals rotation to be oh Travis Bazon And now it's the same team. Yeah on over On Helm Martinez gets the nationals rotation with Zach Latel and Miles Mike less to open the week as well The home run and deals production has been very good for him And doesn't really show any signs of slowing down azekiel d'aron has been great for the Rangers And they have the third best hitter matchups a bunch of righties which actually works in Ezekiel Doran's favor. He has run reverse platoon splits throughout his career. And finally, deep league special here, a Michael Conforto of the Chicago Cubs, only 3% rostered. They have the best hitter slate this week. And it includes just one left-hander in their seven games. Could Forto left-handed here, of course. And he's got an OPS over 1,000 this year, slashing 322, 431, 610, heading into the weekend. Now, he does face some interference from Moises by Estero, who's been playing less because he's been struggling. And so that's part of the reason why it's a deep sleeper. But I think it's one worth considering the playing time has trended more Conforto's direction, and obviously the match-up's favor. All right.
