The Brandon Walker College Football Show launches into Week 1 with a mix of analysis, fan engagement, and exclusive content. The top game of the week is Ole Miss vs. Louisville, praised for its high stakes and star power. Key player highlights include Sam Levitt at LSU, whose debut is seen as critical to the team’s success under new head coach Lane Kiffin. Other notable matchups include Colorado vs. Georgia Tech, which is viewed as under-the-radar but full of questions about team readiness. A major upset alert is flagged for Northwestern vs. South Coast State, where a massive spread raises concerns despite minimal player insight. The show introduces a new year-long competition where the team with the fewest wins at the end of the season wins. Special segments include interviews with Leonard Moore and Tim Polasek, as well as an in-depth film review by Brooks Austin, known for his detailed breakdowns of game strategy. The episode also promotes DraftKings Sportsbook’s new Game Day Boost Pass, offering a 50% profit boost every game day for fans, with a promotional code available. It's Fran from Chicks in the Office. The weather is getting cooler and Abercrombie's fall drop has
everything I need for the season. The best-selling A&F Sloan tailored pant is a closet staple for me.
I'm always wearing it to work events, happy hour, anytime I want to be a bit more dressed up. And
the viral Dylan dress is easy, one and done perfection.
But my fall uniform will always be denim paired with a Henley sweater,
a bra-free top. It's comfortable, effortless. It just never fails.

Hey, everybody. Okay, it is week one. We are here. We have arrived. We can feel it. There's football
games kicking off almost as we speak. We've got football games tonight. Colorado, Georgia Tech.
We got Missouri's going to beat the shit out of somebody. Illinois is going to beat the shit out
of somebody. So we got some football. I'm here. I'm in my studio. We're going an hour early.
And I say an hour early. We really got to figure out what we're going to do as far as I'm almost
thinking maybe Wednesday night would be a better night going forward. Saturday, Monday, Wednesday,
but I'll have to figure that out. We'll figure that out. This is all a kind of a learning
experience as we go forward, how to best pace this thing and how to best do this thing.
Sooner's Jersey, what the fuck? It's a Sooner's Jersey.
I don't know what to tell you. It's Marcus Dupree's Jersey. He was Mississippi before
Oklahoma ruined him, uh, bought him and ruined him. So that you guys kind of suck. Uh, but that's
what I'm wearing. That's what I'm wearing. So here we go. Um, Liam Blutman. Hi,
Brown Walker. Hello. So happy to talk to you today. So it's week one. We're going to get
into our categories, our, uh, our game to watch of the week, our player to watch of the week,
our under the radar game, our upset alert, our close your eyes, Liam Blutman special of the week
and Liam.
Blutman will be unveiling his playoff tonight. And if we have time, I will be unveiling my
playoff tonight. We also, me and Blutman will open our year long competition of, uh, least
wins wins. We're going to draft five teams. And at the end of the year, the, the, the guy
with the least wins wins, and that's how we're doing it. Uh, we'll have, uh, we'll have those
two things. We'll have the categories right now. I can tell you that Liam Blutman's YouTube
channel, uh, the, the, the sister channel to this one, the brother channel, how, how's
it work?
Sister channel, right? It's sister say sister channel. He'll have an interview with a Notre
Dame superstar, probably maybe the best player in college football, Leonard Moore. And then
he'll also have Tim Polasek, the North Dakota state head coach. So you've got those two
interviews going live tonight. Correct?
Correct. Very excited. Leonard Moore. One is a bit shorter. Paul is like a bit longer.
I think both of them are very good. Leonard Moore, one of the great characters in the
sport.
This show right here will include our, uh, our categories. Uh, we'll have, we'll have
our five, our, our least team, least wins, wins game. And I'll have two interviews myself
at the end of the show. At the very end, we'll have a Virginia quarterback, Pope Robula,
who looked impressive the other day after transferring from Penn state and Missouri.
We'll talk to him for about 10 minutes. And one that I really, really, really, really
like. Um, and I don't know if, if our audiences clash or if our audiences overlap, if they
do in any way, if, if the, you know, 65 to 70,000 people who will be watching this on
YouTube.
Uh, if the, you know, 50 to 60,000 who listened to this exclusively on podcast, if you guys
don't know who Brooks Austin is, he is the film guy. He has his own YouTube empire over
there. In fact, I was jealous today. I think he, he just put out an interview with Shane
Gillis, who was on our list for my guy to go out and get Shane Gillis and didn't happen.
So, uh, one, nothing, one, nothing Brooks. But anyway, we have about an hour of ball
talk with, uh, Brooks Austin. He's a, he's a YouTube.
He's a college football personality who leans heavily, heavily, heavily on his ability to
watch film, break it down and translate it to information for the lay person such as
myself.
He's, he's a better ball watcher than I, um, I, I'm just the number one cost for all media
personality in the world, but that guy knows what he's doing. Are you a big Brooks Austin
guy?
Again, I wish I watched more Brooks Austin. If I did, I would be so much smarter than
the idiot I am.
So he did just call you out like five times on the, didn't call you out. I mean, he shouted
you out and he shouted you out on the end. So we'll have that. That's about 49 minutes
of that. All right, let's get right to game one, our week one, uh, week zero happened
last week.
Week one is, uh, kicking off really much as we speak. Uh, somebody says, uh, E X J says
for, uh, Brooks Austin, he's an sec shill. You dumb whiny crybaby bitches say that about
every single person in media, every single person in college football media. You're like,
he's an sec shill, uh, wipe the fucking fucking sand out of your vagina and shut the fuck up.
Oh, he's an sec shill. Or he just talks college football. Turns out if you talk college football,
you're probably going to be a big 10 shill or an sec shill cause they're the best conferences
in the country with most of the great teams.
It's how it works. It's how it fucking works. Don't be a bitch on my channel. Be a bitch
on somebody. Go to, go to pay, go wine to pay. Let, uh, let him, uh, go, go cry on his
shoulder. All right, so here we go. We've got, uh, the week one categories, the game
of the week.
The game to watch this week. I think it's easy. I am anxious to see Blutman if you change
it or if you have one that isn't actually, I know what yours probably is cause your team
is playing in it, but mine is easily Ole miss Louisville. I know LSU is playing, uh, LSU
is opening the lane Kiffin era with Clemson. That's fine. I don't know if Clemson is going
to do their part to make that a great game. I do think Louisville is going to have something
special in store for Ole miss Ole miss starting the peak golden era on paper. Ole miss has
maybe the best quarterback in the country, maybe the best running back. I don't know
if they're running back in the country. Uh, the defense looks pretty good, but what if
Louisville were to shock them to open the season? But what if, and what have Ole miss
look great? There's, there's, there's a bunch here. These are the two best teams showing
up and playing each other on Saturday. That is my number one game to watch this week.
What's yours?
Speaker 2 : I mean, right now it's UMass Rutgers. I'm having a blast watching
Lonergan, Raymond and Duff, Brian Walker at the end. Okay. Okay. Dude, Raymond and Duff's
going to be a first round pick. Maybe whatever. By the end of the season, I might get an award
that is better and more credible than the Nobel peace prize. And that is being the least
biased personality in college football. My game of the week is Ole miss Louisville. Don't
overthink it. That is the best game this week. That is the game that we cannot wait to watch
at six 30 central on Sunday night, which is unfortunately, and a crime against humanity,
not a standalone game, a heinous crime.
Speaker 3 : And that should be standalone. We'll still
watch Notre Dame Wisconsin at Lambeau, but it won't be with sound on you. You, you gave
it all the right reasons. Almost Louisville's must see television by far the spectacle of
the week.
Speaker 2 : Yeah, it really is. Now let's do another one. Let's we're going to
be quick tonight. We're not going to bog down on these categories. We're not going to bog
down on anything. We're just going to go. We're going to go fast. We're going to get
to Brooks. Awesome. We're going to get the proper Vula. We're going to get to all the
little things that we're doing the player to watch this week. To me, it's pretty easy.
Now there's a lot, a lot of players out there.
A lot of old faces and new places. A lot of guys you want to see bounce back. A lot of
this, a lot of that, of course, Chambliss against Louisville. And then you got Lincoln
Keen holds making his season debut there for Louisville. But to me, the number one debut,
the number one guy I want to see in his new place is Sam Levitt at LSU. I think we'll
know early. I think we'll know quick if he comes out and struggles or doesn't get the
lane Kiffin offense or doesn't really gel with his receivers, they could, they could
look vulnerable.
Very, very quickly. I think you're going to know about lane Kiffin's imprint on this team.
Are they distracted by what's going on in the courts? I don't know, but I do know Sam
Levitt is the one I'm most anxious to see of all the players in this country. Who is
your player to watch this weekend?
Speaker 2 : Well, it's going to be Sam. Love it. I'm a smart guy. I knew you
would go with him. Did you know Brandon Jacobs, former New York giants running back? His son
is the starring left tackle at Clemson. And he's a six foot seven, 345 pounds, but he
is going to be there. He's going to be there. Ironman, everyone focused on Kiffin and LSU.
I want to see what he does.
And then Sammy Omosego at UCLA linebacker.
The under-the-radar game of the week.
Blutman, you will go first.
Liberty at James Madison.
Liberty sneaky terrible last year.
Jamie Chadwell needs to figure it out.
Gattagare, they went 4-8.
Jalen Henderson versus probably C.J. Evans in a quarterback matchup.
Fun early game.
And mine was, of course, Liberty and JMU.
I'm changing it on the fly right now.
I'm changing it on the fly.
And right now, I'm going to say, is Colorado Georgia Tech under the radar?
I know they're on a Thursday night.
They're starting in a little bit.
But, like, this is a game we were kind of excited for last year
as Georgia Tech was on the come-up.
They were on the rise.
They had Haynes King.
But it's a very well-coached team.
And they're not getting talked about a lot this year.
You've got Mendoza.
You've got some things going on.
And Colorado, I'm just morbidly curious about.
Like, everything we saw in the offseason about the strength
and conditioning program.
Where we see the pictures.
And nobody's got any arms.
And nobody's got any legs.
And it's just not impressive.
Is the Deion experiment or Deion tenure.
Not experiment.
The Deion tenure.
Is it in trouble?
Will it last past this year?
Will they surprise people?
I'm really just kind of anxious to see what we see out of Georgia Tech
and Colorado.
It's like I have questions about both teams.
And we'll see tonight.
My upset alert.
I got one just almost based solely on vibes.
I think I'll be the only person in the world that will mention this game
for this reason.
Bloodman, what is your upset alert?
Now, upset alert is not picking a team to beat another team.
An upset alert is identifying a spot where a ranked team
or a highly favored team better be fucking careful
because everything is there for an upset.
What would you say is upset alert?
I've said with you a few times this week.
It's Northwestern hosting South Coast State, the best team in the FCS.
I don't understand how Northwestern is a two-touchdown favorite.
In this game, is Aiden Childs good, Brandon?
Just a straight-up question for you.
Is Aiden Childs good?
I don't think so.
But maybe.
But maybe, yeah.
But maybe.
They're a two-touchdown favorite.
Chase Mason, the South Dakota quarterback,
has NFL eyes on him entering his senior season.
There's a cool little narrative here with Griffin Wildey,
former Jackrabbit receiver, who's the best player in Northwestern.
And then I like Landon Delaney and Jack Smith,
young wideouts for South Coast.
My upset alert is just based solely on vibes and vibes alone.
I can't tell you, and I'm just going to say it,
I can't tell you a single player on one of these teams.
Not a single one of them.
Not even, I can't even hazard a guess
as to what a player's name would be on this team.
But wouldn't it be Vanderbilt-like?
If Vanderbilt goes 10-2 last year
and gets to the edge of the playoff conversation
and gets to the end of the playoff conversation,
and gets to the end of the playoff conversation,
which is the worst game of the entire week.
Can I go first, Liam?
Please do.
I was looking at big-time spreads,
and the thing that most of these big-time spreads is
they have a big-time team attached to it.
They have a huge, you know,
it's not surprising that, say,
a Texas would be a 30-point favorite over Texas State.
It's not surprising that Ohio State would be a huge favorite.
It's not surprising that any of these big-time teams
are big favorites over Texas State.

win the least games of this year lukey put umass on my side that's pick one as they just said a 40
yard pass that's great timing liam
what you got uh yeah give me kent state lowly kent state and uh southern miss who lost everything in
the divorce with charles huff you took kent state and southern miss give me give me i'm gonna do it
i said it earlier give me the colorado buffaloes
hmm
And give me Rutgers.
Now I realize it might win tonight.
But give me Colorado and Rutgers to go along with my first pick of UMass.
So I need one more Power 5 team.
You still need three Power 5 teams.
Go.
How sad is it how bad Rutgers is while having one of the best receivers
and one of the best running backs in football?
It's almost the saddest.
Nice.
I'll take Stanford and Arkansas.
Okay.
I need one more Power 5.
Give me.
This is to wrap it up for me.
Give me Purdue.
And Purdue.
UMass touchdown.
Give me Purdue.
Purdue and UL Monroe.
Good picks.
I'll close it with.
Well, if Kansas was just really bad again, just Kansas.
Get rid of this guy spamming the chat.
I want to read the chat and I want you guys to be part of this, but I don't just don't.
We're not spamming.
We're not spamming.
We're not doing this.
We're not.
We're not typing the same thing over and over and over and over again.
It ruins everybody else's experience.
I would like for you guys to be able to talk to me.
I can talk to you.
I would like for that to happen.
But if you just show up and you, you, your life is to spam the same thing.
Over and over and over and over.
Just get rid of them.
I don't, I'm not doing that.
You can go, go wherever you want to go.
We're not doing that.
Um, so did we finish the, did we finish that draft?
Yep.
We did.
I ended up with Rutgers, Colorado, UMass, UL Monroe and Purdue.
And you ended up with who?
Uh, I just realized that you took two teams that are, one of them is guaranteed a win.
I know.
I know.
I mean, it is what it is.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It is what it is.
Uh, Kent state.
Kent state, Southern Miss, Arkansas, Kansas, Stanford.
Uh, let me do a couple more ads and then we got, uh, we got Brooks also.
Oh, you got your playoff, right?
Got my playoff.
You got yours.
I got my playoff too.
If we have time, I'm going to do it.
Uh, so we've got, uh, blue chew.

Lukey, I told you we're not doing voicemails tonight, right?
Lukey, can you pick a, pick a chat or pick a, pick a question out of the chat and put
it on the screen?
Is that something you can possibly do?
Yeah, I would need a second to pull it up.
Okay.
Even if you don't, I'll just read it.
How about?
How about this chat?
I'm with you for the next five minutes.
Let's give it a shot.
You guys asked me in Blutman questions.
We will, uh, we will go for you.
We will answer the question.
We'll see how well we do chat.
You got five minutes.
Blutman, you got your playoff ready.
I got my playoff locked and loaded, locked and loaded.
Uh, give me a playoff team.
Number one, the Georgia Bulldogs.
One seed.
I, you know, I got them when, when at all.
Give me the 12 seed.
North Dakota State.
I flipped from Memphis to NTSU, uh, early Saturday morning.
Could LSU says Lina or W64.
Could LSU win by three touchdowns?
100%.
Yes, they could.
Uh, Ryan Garvey says first coach fired.
So let's, let's, let's, let's explore that for a second.
If Mike Norvell loses to SMU in embarrassing fashion, he he's not the coach on Tuesday,
right?
That's so sad that they went into this season and that was always.
It's going to be a reality.
It is, but I don't want to spoil a later segment.
I think they're beating SMU this week.
Hmm.
I, I, I think it's a dangerous spot for SMU.
Uh, I, I didn't use them as upset alert.
Cause again, I'm going to use them for something else, but I think Norvell Norvell does, even
if they beat SMU, he can still be the first coach fired.
He can still not make it out.
Of course.
I think I had them getting fired Halloween, November 1st after Clemson.
Now I like this team to bounce back, but there's a world.
Beamer doesn't get out of, uh, there's a world.
Beamer doesn't get out of, uh, October.
So, you know, or cocktober, excuse me.
Um, let's see, you know, Maryland locks.
Was that comment sponsored by blue chew?
Yeah, that's right.
Yeah.
Um, let's see, uh, is Dabo on the hot seat this year?
I truly believe Dabo lives his life above a hot seat.
Uh, I believe he lives a life, especially now.
I feel like people are coming around on Dabo is the anti everything wrong in college.
Football, which I never thought I'd live to see.
I really do think with, with, with fans frustrations about this NFL thing, about
the NIL thing, about the transfer poll thing, like Dabo standing and kind of stout defiance.
It doesn't do much for their win loss record and it doesn't do much for short-term Clemson,
but he does kind of seem like a guy who's, who's getting more favor publicly because
of his stances on that stuff.
Um, most underrated helmet in each conference.
Wow.
Okay.
Oh, 12.
30.
Most underrated helmet in each.
I would say Auburn for the sec.
Uh, I think Auburn is a very strong helmet, but you wouldn't mention it with Florida or
Texas or, or some of those.
Uh, I think that one's a good one.
Um, I don't know how you, how you quantify that because in the ACC, the best helmets
are Florida state and Miami, but I think Louisville has got a strong helmet.
Uh, NC state's got a strong helmet thoughts.
I'm thinking I Tennessee maybe in the SEC.
Yeah.
Mississippi state using the interlock logo is a big deal.
I like that a lot.
That's back.
Jesus Christ.
That's back.
I'm just.
Can Michigan state ever get back to being a winning program?
Says Marcus Moss, 87, 75.
Yes.
100%.
Again, we live in a world where Indiana won the national title.
So yes, Michigan can, Michigan state can get back to being a winning program.
All right.
Um, let me, uh,
BYU's helmet underrated.
There's a problem.
It's properly rated.
I think it's properly rated.
I don't think it's the sexiest thing.
Now they're overall as a uniform there, their uniform is probably underrated, but I don't
think the helmet really does a whole lot for me.
Uh, West Virginia as an underrated helmet.
I don't mind.
Oh, a hundred percent.
Somebody says Ole Miss powder blue.
Does it get talked about enough?
I think it gets over talked about.
I think it gets talked about way too much.
We, there was a powder blue of vacation in sports.
Obviously Ole Miss was ahead of that curve, but we've been powder blued to extreme levels
recently.

your g5 representative although you are picking a team that is just now starting at this level so
that would be quite the accomplishment for those guys uh why kansas state why kansas state i really
think again it happens with any big 12 team the schedule is super gettable i know that there's
some injuries on the offensive line but i'm really playing a lot of trust and faith into
colin klein to extract all the talent possible out of avery johnson and see this team as a real
bounce back candidate this year get the ball rolling early and never look back still like
the defense i don't see why they can't win 10 10 games have a close loss in the conference
championship and make the playoff on the back end i just think a lot of the sec is going to
beat each other up like texas texas a&m old miss i don't see any of them
getting in yeah no i think it's a very very very crowded field uh somebody said somebody in the
chat said why does everybody believe in lsu when has lane kiffin not fucked it up um last year

what do you think about when tennessee goes 75 is hypo fired sean mcdonald 41 40 and i believe
if i'm not mistaken is that travi for the boys is travi for the boys hanging out in here asking
leading tennessee questions because he's an alabama slobbering homer text asking or saying
brandon needs to talk about the chance of hypo being fired so i'm gonna say that's him so here's
the thing we work at a company with media professionals and i often make fun of some
costwell fans that just cannot separate their fandom from their emotions from their intelligence
they're all one in the same and your intelligence should be above your emotions
should be above your fandom um but we have an alabama fan who works on our tiktok who only
lives drinks eats breeds auburn and tennessee failing it's not even about alabama succeeding
he only wants tennessee to fail um gospel ball is truly where your um where your passions outweigh
your intelligence and travi for the boys is a great example of that tate is a great example of
that i'm trying to think of somebody else those two for sure
might be an example of that but not on their level not on their level gino seems like he's a
level-headed guy so your playoff gino says he's watched more drew mess the maker tape than
some of the coaches on oklahoma state this offseason you you all right so your playoff
you just gave me the 12 teams did you go all the way with it or did you just give me the 12 teams
i didn't go all the way with that i just have georgia winning a national championship i'm not
even sure against who yet i probably tweeted that
all right here's my play well all right yeah lukey okay all right so we actually don't have
time to release my playoff today we will release my playoff uh on monday's show uh being told that

think it's the best way to do this job and if you're willing to interact with me and not be
a fucking dick bag it can be fun so um here we go every saturday night we're going to be live

i don't got anything to say except brooks austin won the best in the base he really is uh if you've
never seen brooks austin he is a ball knower to the extreme he's fantastic um check him out he's
not me i'm i'm always going to be the number one college football media personality in the world
um despite people having more views and more successful and more money i'm still number one
i got brooks austin coming on the show after that i got beau perbula i got him from virginia
so i got an interview with that but i'm gonna go right now to my interview with
The film guy, Brooks Austin.
All right, film time.
Film guy time.
Let me tell you something.
I don't respect a lot of people in this business because most of them suck.
They really, really do.
There's a lot of people in college football media that you can tell don't even really want to be here.
They're just kind of here.
And that's been a plague in college football for a long time.
But I do think there's this new generation.
Pate certainly is somebody that loves it.
I love it.
And this guy, I respect this guy as a baller.
This is a ball-knower supreme that I'm bringing on right here.
In fact, he's got it right there on his damn screen.
It says ball-knower.
It's Brooks Austin, the film guy.
Got the film guy network going on over there every night from 8 to 10.
Just always out there, always doing some intriguing stuff.
And now he's on the show to talk a little ball with us.
What's up, Brooks?
You're right, man.
I do feel very blessed and lucky to do this.
Hell, like most people that are in media, they used to do something else outside of this and dream to have a microphone.
I worked in construction the first five years I got out of college football.
And I was like, no, I'm not doing this the rest of my life.
And then maintained working in construction for the first three years of doing this little media journey because I was making pennies and dimes.
So, yeah, I love my job.
And I know you do, too.
You're so passionate about what you do.
And how could you not be?
If you're not, go find something else to do.
Go pack boxes, man.
This is a dream for sure.
Yeah, go play intramurals, brother.
So, it's Brooks Austin.
He's the film guy.
Now, when we were texting last night and we were going to set up, and we're in a very exciting point of the year because Saturday opens the entire floodgates.
And Saturday might not look that great on paper as far as matchups, but it's still a full day of college football, so we're going to be excited.
You said, I can talk about how drunk I am on Camario Taylor hype.
Now, I'm a Mississippi State fan, so I'm not going to subject people to that right now, but let's take that idea and expand it.
Who are some other players that you're just drunk on?
You're just, I can't get enough of this player.
I can't get enough of getting to watch this player this year.
Who is a Camario Taylor-like guy that you can't wait to see?
Yeah, I mean, the world got introduced to JKS out there at Cal last year.
We're going to get to see them against UCLA Saturday night in the Sickos matchup there at 1030 Eastern.
That kid can flat out rip the football.
And it's more than, like, I've never seen lefties that don't have funky spin.
You know, like, everybody that's ever.
Listen to a football coach says that lefty ball spins a little bit different, and it does.
It tilts on an opposite axle than most right-handed quarterbacks.
But having seen him throw the ball in person, somehow it doesn't tilt funny.
It has a natural true spin to it, and he makes NFL throws left and right.
I mean, Brian Harsin got absolutely crapped on during his time at Auburn.
I thought he did a relatively decent job last year as an offensive coordinator, but I'm slap hammered on that one.
Now, I had to go through, like, rehab.
I had to go through a lot of processes with Lenora Sellers.
Sure.
I'm not going to lie to you.
Mike Shula did that to me.
I'm off the wagon on Sellers, by the way.
I'm completely.
I'm completely.
I've picked the bottle back up myself, too.
I'm like, damn it.
I, oh, yeah.
Last year, so many of us looked foolish coming the year with our top 10 quarterback list.
And then, you know, Nussmeyer doesn't do well, and Klubnick doesn't do well, and Aller doesn't do well, and Lagway doesn't do well.
And we all had him up there.
But there's something about Sellers, man, where I just look at him like he's too talented.
He's too talented to be mediocre two years in a row.
So, I got the Sellers bottle in my hand.
I'm sitting on the front porch.
I'm watching traffic go by, and I'm just like, let me drink this thing because I know it's going to taste good.
And I think all it took for me was Kendall Bryles.
And, look, I think what we should have realized last year is if you would have sat me down and be like, hey, Brooks, are you sure about this?
Like, dude, the new offensive coordinator hasn't called offensive play since 2016.
And, by the way, he's never called them in college.
I would have probably been like, all right.
Maybe I do need to put down the sauce a little bit.
But, no, all it took for me was Kendall Bryles, and I'm like, all right, I'm back off the wagon.
Let's go.
I'm here for the Lenore's train because he's just so uber talented, man.
He's a lot of the same reasons I love Camario.
Not as a pure and beautiful of a passer and throw of the football as Camario, but because it is kind of from the ear, man.
He looks like a catcher back there, but he's built like a damn catcher, too.
He's sick.
6'3", 246, and built like a brick shithouse.
So, I'm back on the Lenore's train, and my loved ones are concerned.
Don't get me wrong.
They're like, hey, we kind of liked you when you were sober.
But, yeah, I'm back on the Lenore's train.
There's other guys that are coming into Power 4 football, like Byron Brown at Auburn.
I go back and forth on him.
I go back and forth on him because I'm just not sure.
The main thing I think about with him is, did they bring in enough big-time Power 4 offensive
talent to help him and to make – this offense has been such a mess.
They lost Cam Coleman.
I know the defense is bringing back a pretty good chunk there at Auburn, but I don't know
if I can get all the way where a lot of other people are.
Like, Byron Brown's going to tear it up at Auburn.
The SEC, 16 teams this year.
How many teams think they have a really good quarterback?
14 of them?
Like, there's going to be some disappointed fan bases as far as quarterbacks go in this
league, and I don't know.
What do you think about Auburn, and what do you think about Byron Brown transitioning
to this level?
Yeah, so I think the –
I think the physicals will translate, right?
Like, they're going to translate when he inevitably becomes a tight end or gets asked to be a
tight end in Sunday football, right?
Six foot four and a half, 235 pounds, and it's one thing to be like, hey, he's a 4'4
runner in shorts and a t-shirt.
Nowadays, like, we have GPS metrics.
We know exactly how fast you are in pads on a Saturday, and that kid, I think, popped
23 miles an hour on the catapult last year in pads.
Like, somebody that's that big, that fast, that athletic, that's going to be an essential
be to tackle no matter what.
So, from a running game standpoint, he'll be fine.
That will translate.
But, yeah, I mean, everybody knows.
Everybody can see it.
It doesn't take some ball knower to look at video of that guy throwing the football and
go, ew.
That looks like it.
That looks like it hurts, man.
But I will say this.
Going back and watching their USF stuff, particularly against SEC opponents, you know, they are
a wide-choice system, but I think they use the screen game way better than all these
other guys.
They have traditional halfbacks.
They have tunnel screens, bubble screens, and that's, like, really hard to do when we're
lined up outside the numbers.
But I think that's Golish's kind of trick, and maybe he's figured that out because of,
you know, the limitations that Byram has as a thrower, but they will be able to run the
football as all these wide-choice systems do.
Tennessee's been top three in the SEC since Heupel's been there.
Your folks down there, Mississippi State, run the football despite the fact that they're
down in a lot of football games over the last couple years.
They can still run the damn ball.
And Auburn will be able to run the football this year.
It's just about, like, hey, are we going to be too limited of a thrower to be able to
score enough points in this conference?
When they got into those SEC, you know, battles last year at USF in the last several years,
they really shrink the game, which is, like, opposite of what these normal wide-choice
systems do.
They're trying to take 80 snaps a football game.
I think they took 65 offensive snaps against Florida last year.
I don't know if you're going to be able to do that.
Week in and week out, even with DJ Durkin as the defensive coordinator, I think you're going to go
into some games where it's like, all right, boys, like, we got to score 35 points today, and we
can't do it milking the clock and slowing things down.
We got to play a little bit more pace, which ultimately might lead to a little bit more
mistakes.
But no, physically, he'll be fine.
I don't know what we're going to see from a throwing standpoint.
You're right about the skill position players.
I think they brought over four of their top five receivers from USF, and it's like, I know the
quarterback's big and fast.
But our USF wide receiver is going to be able to get separation in this conference.
That'll be a major question.
Can Bryce Underwood, let me ask you a different way.
Can Whittingham and staff reclaim Bryce Underwood and put him back on the path to unlocking that
five-star potential that made him this huge, gigantic recruit?
And can they undo a year of basically some of the worst coaching you'll ever see for a freshman
quarterback have?
Can Bryce Underwood be restored?
And can he be put back on the path to where he should be going?
You know, I released a film study on him and basically titled it like, they got to start from
ground zero.
Yeah, that's what I think.
They just got to start all the way over.
And I immediately started getting, you know, text messages and phone calls from people at the
Michigan era or Michigan realm.
And they were like, hey, that's kind of exactly what they're going to do.
They're going to, you know, build him from the blocks up.
And I'm like, that's great to hear.
He was coached horribly last year, but was he coached at all?
You know what I mean?
Or were some of those bad?
He wasn't, right?
I'll just leave the witness there.
He wasn't coached at all.
He had no quarterbacks coached, according to Whittingham, and just developed bad habits
that I think he entered college with.
A lot of these five-star quarterbacks, that's why I'm so high on Keelan, because he's the
antithesis of this.
A lot of these five-star quarterbacks in high school are just getting buy-off traits.
They're just out there running around, doing whatever the hell they want, because their
arm can fix it.
And it's like, hey, I'm going to have my feet parallel to the line of scrimmage, and watch
me rip this dart.
And it's like, that's cool.
That's awesome.
You're not going to be able to do that on a consistent level in college.
And it sucked for him last year, because he was still doing a lot of these bad things
and getting away with a lot of it.
Sure.
There's a play in the Cheez-It Bowl, Brandon, where his hips are completely pointed to the
sideline, and he throws a damn 45-yard laser beam to the back pylon.
And he does one of those type celebrations after the plate.
It's like, cool.
Yeah.
glad you got away with that one but every fifth ball might be an interception and three of the
five might just go god knows where it's awesome you did it once can you continue to repeat it
um those are things i would imagine beckon and this offensive system are probably going to be
grinding hard on i'm just bouncing all over the country just kind of following you because you
mentioned keelan russell there's a thought process that oh now kaylin deborah's got his guy watch
this five star keelan russell he's just going to go right in there now he's got his guy my issue
with that and and i'm sure you got the film i'm sure you love the guy quarterback wasn't the
issue quarterback wasn't the issue at alabama toughness was the issue the lack of of classic
alabama football when they laid down against florida state and they laid down in the playoff
game against indiana so convince me that the this quarterback can overcome that or or maybe i'm
am i making too much of the toughness issue and i should shut the fuck up
you don't have to cuss like me but that's fine no i mean i was wondering honestly
i didn't watch it but i'm sure pate made you like not swear i was i was impressed you went an hour
there apparently without dropping a fuck did you do that were you able to i did i and i and i hated
it the whole time i hated myself did the chair have a shock feature on you like how did that work
was that you're just disciplined no no i actually had a butt plug in the whole time and it would
shock me if i said no um i uh i i just you know what i'm trying to do a face turn as well i'm
trying to do this thing where i don't cuss as much because i do have some dads being like i'd like to
listen to you in my car so my kid can listen uh now they're probably lying and don't even have a
car and don't even have a kid but whatever trying to do a face turn trying to be a little bit better
but sometimes you know especially on these saturday night shows i'm gonna be doing the recaps
i'm gonna let it fly and i gotta be you but you gotta be you keelan russell but alabama yeah back
back to the alabama thing does toughness just look like for you like when i think of like oh
tough bully football like are they gonna be a tough bully football like are they gonna be a tough bully football like are they gonna be a
inside zone run at your face football team i don't think that's what they ever want to be i don't
think that's what kaylin deborah is i don't think that's what ryan grubb was if you or is if you
watch them at washington they were a wide zone counterbase football team like they're trying to
stretch the ball and then get north and south and i think that's why it took so long for them to be
able to run the football and there's still questions about it right like we go into 2026 with
tremendous amounts of questions about the offensive line um but they did throw new bodies at that
brandon like they they had a uh a player personnel pool that did not match what they were trying to do
schematically or what they want to be schematically i can tell you this right now i don't think ryan
grubb and kaylin deborah ever ran duo which is a downhill run scheme when they're during their
times at washington they get to alabama and their left tackle is 395 pounds during when he gets to
camp and then it's like hey we gotta start losing some weight here um and the only guy they brought
over with them from an offensive line standpoint that matched what they want to do is parker
brailsford the center tremendous athlete you look at that roster this offseason they turned it over
not just from a player personnel standpoint but they changed the coach to brought in seven new
offensive linemen that are all athletic based uh you know attrition or uh acquisitions they're all
guys that are really good athletes their profile said that they can move we'll see if that ultimately
works out but i think it took a couple of years to kind of turn that roster over and and get
players that they actually want to have run their types of schemes and they're not going to be
so i'm a little bit more bullish that they're going to be able to run the football slightly
better um and based off the fact that it simply cannot be much worse it simply cannot be much
worse when when i turn them on on sunday nights last year half the time i would just throw my
notebook down and go what the are we doing what like how do we not how do we not put hats on hats
right like i don't have to be super football guru guy to explain this to the audience the five
offensive linemen should block five people
at least they should get five hats on five hats especially in pass protection and they couldn't
do that they couldn't do the basic minimums last year and i at least appreciate about kalen something
he did something that steve sarkisian did not do he fired the offensive line coach he watched that
crap for 14 games and was like you're out of here bud i'm bringing in a new guy and brought in
andrew clem the the nfl offensive line coach and at least change that up uh texas did not uh texas is
rolling with it and they're not going to be able to do that they're not going to be able to do that
with kyle flood for 1.8 million dollars for the third straight year so or however many years he's
been there so we'll see add kyle flood to the coaches that don't make as much money as me um so
this is where i'm at on alabama i'm just gonna make a statement on alabama that i'll move on
um it's when you're in your third year's coach in the first two you already lost the toughness
on the offensive and defensive lines those that really bothers me as a trend i don't need you to
talk about more alabama that's kind of me and my thing i gotta get through with them because
you know the skill talents there and and they're
there's stuff there to like but i just i don't like him at all now two quarter two quarterbacks
julian's saying dante moore to me they both had the same problem and it's a problem most
quarterbacks gonna have because of the very nature of what i'm about to say uh dante moore was at his
worst against the elite defenses when he when they played indiana both times he wasn't all that good
when they played um when they played iowa last year on the road when played penn state on the
road he just wasn't that good now he had moments in both those games where he led drives that were
very important julian saying the same way
got his worst game against indiana his worst game against the best defenses so
my criticism both those guys as they try to lead their team so national title is
they really weren't good against elite competition do you think that's a fair
criticism of dante moore and of julian saying or is that just is that just duh everybody's
worse against elite competition a little bit of dub but i'll start with julian saying like when
i watch the indiana big 10 championship game and then watch the miami game i'm like well we talk a
scar tissue at the quarterback position on our channel brandon like issues that get created over
the year and then we watch the final game and it's like why are you bailing out of clean pockets
and they're like well coach i haven't had a clean pocket all year right like i got a huge scar
in my playing style that has been created because we have issues well with him with julian saying
in ohio state those were fresh wounds those weren't scar tissue things they had the same
amount of combined sacks in that miami and indiana game 10 that they had all year entering the game
those two football games yeah they allowed 10 sacks so it was like brand new to him being on his back
having to create with his legs having to make nfl pass rushers miss and then get flat keep my eyes
downfield and continue to hunt the defense like that was brand new to that football player in his
first year as a starting quarterback so i look at that and i guess i want more and i think ryan
davin talked about that this offseason it's like hey what do you want to see from your quarterback
well i want to see us be able to play outside of structure a little bit more i want to see him make
us right when everyone
is wrong type stuff right like i 100 agree with coach um and the film said that but when you look
at those games you're like this is brand new to this kid he's been sitting pretty in pockets all
year and now it's like everything's blown up everything's chaos they also sustain i believe
ohio state fans will definitely correct us um i believe they sustained an injury at right guard
during the michigan game and then had to had a brand new starter in the big 10 championship
game and a brand new starter right there against miami so i would
agree there it's it definitely has to get better i do like that julian's gotten bigger
um he at least control what he can control from a horsepower standpoint look that kid's never
gonna be six four he's never gonna be 230 pounds he's never gonna run a four or five but at least
he did put on 10 to 15 pounds a lot of these college kids nowadays that make all this money
brandon they don't get any better yeah they don't they physically they do not get better all the
all the improvements come from playing time and i need you to handle some of this stuff in the
game i will say about dante is like you mentioned the the big time throws he has more nfl throws on
tape than anybody else like tight window anticipatory throws against zone structures
like that dude has big time throws but the things that concern me about him is locked
onto pre-snap reads way too much in a world of college football where we change a lot of the
looks pre-snap and post-snap on defense so like prime example that that first interception against
indiana i mean from the moment he takes the ball d'angelo pons knows he's throwing that
speed and he's throwing that speed and he's throwing that speed and he's throwing that speed
out yeah he's staring it right down uh and we end up picking that football off he had a very
similar interception against jmu nobody remembers it because they were beating the hell up out of
them but we're staring down a square in on our on our short side to our left side and we we
completely missed the fact that a linebacker drops into the the hook curl zone there and we hit him
right in the face from jmu and they end up taking it back and i think inside the red zone so those
things and and we can get really really lackadaisical with our mechanics up there at
again with dante where we've been god's gift to throwing the football for a long time um but even
that like we can not very similar to the bryce underwood things but he's so gifted that he knows
he can get away with things and five to six times a game he doesn't and the ball just doesn't zip
out of his hands like it does every other rep for this kid so those would be moments of growth and
i would expect from dante feel like there's a universally accepted tier of seven elite teams this
year uh you can have some varying mileage on teams after that like a and m oklahoma and stuff like
that uh those seven teams i believe are georgia and texas out of the sec indiana ohio state oregon
out of the big 10 notre dame and then miami i feel like that is a universally accepted elite tier of
seven teams uh i'll get to some more later but uh using those seven as as the elite tier right now
if i told you i'm guaranteeing you one of these teams falls short of expectations and does not
make the playoff, who do you think I would be talking about? Who do you think that'll be the
the team we talked about in january is the team that did not live up to expectations and did not
make the playoff man i've been hard on sark all offseason but it has to be them right like it has
to be like there's but at this point brandon and i'm okay with being hated maybe not as much as you
but at this point texas fans are ready to punch me in the mouth when they see me but yeah i i also
don't like all the lip service from him this offseason like the guy like prime example two
days ago he was like crossing his arms talking about how immoral this nfl stuff is and it's like
buddy you got cole hudson on your roster yeah you at you at and i know cole hudson texas fans i know
he did not sign an nfl contract i'm well aware he did not enter his name into the nfl draft but he
still had an nfl jersey on him he still went to multiple otas he still tried to be an nfl football
player and just wasn't good enough to be one and i also know he maintained his studentship status
and was still in college
class but i mean newsflash all these guys stay as students even when they go to the league when
they leave early that's why we got these guys coming back two years into their nfl career
walking across the stage getting their diploma that that is not the line of demarcation a lot
of demarcation for me is you tried the thing with the nfl that should be done that that's that's at
least my opinion on this whole nonsense but no the steve sarkisian lip service this offseason
has confused me quite a bit um
he's constantly sticking his foot in his mouth um and you know we we haven't we haven't gotten
over that hump enough to to be out here wiling at the microphone in my opinion so there's also
the reality of uh ohio state and texas like one of them teams is going to lose that game that means
in week two you're going to be one and one and both of those teams are looking uphill at a schedule
that is nasty as hell ohio state still has to go to indiana after that they still have to go to usc
after that they still got oregon coming in and texas still has a mile of uh highway in front of
them so one of we i don't know that we talk about it enough like one of those teams is really going
to be behind the eight ball we saw texas last year they lost it now they weren't as good last
year as they're going to be this year and that's fair and they also lost to florida i don't think
they have a roster that would lose to a florida this year but like the cheese can slide off the
cracker pretty easily for for one of those teams now i'm just going i'm all around the country
right now uh i watched kurt cignetti
they're certainly one of the seven national title contenders that i mentioned um but they're adding
josh hoover and josh hoover is a turnover prone quarterback who at least in his career so far has
has been responsible for a lot of turnovers cignetti seems like a coach that don't play
that shit like if you're gonna make a lot of mistakes you're not gonna fucking play for me
that's what he seems like is this marriage does it have a chance to be volatile or do you think
cignetti fixes this problem and it doesn't become an issue i think the offensive scheme fixes the
problem look kendall's great when he had kendall bryles that is is great when he has a quarterback
that can actually run the football right you go back to those uh kj jefferson years at arkansas
go all the way back 10 12 15 years ago to the rg3 days at baylor like when they have an athlete back
there that can run around a little bit their offense is far more explosive and far more
turnover prone um when they have almost like a statuesque non-athletic pocket passer um that
system turns into air raid and error air raid can go real real south for a long time and they're
from a turnover standpoint really quickly especially around a lot yeah yeah especially
if we feel like we might have to score 40 today to go win a football game and we're going to be
driving the football down the field then we're going to have to take risks with the ball and
ultimately you know in order to win um whereas you look at that indiana offense and there's no
there's no secrets about it dan orlowski uh was the national voice to kind of pull the mask off
that offense during the nfl draft talking about ty simpson over fernando and his whole reasoning
behind that was fernando doesn't play in an nfl system fernando's out here at indiana doing rpos
20 of his 30 dropbacks a game and the rest of its mesh or stick and it's like very basic
progression reads where the nfl is far from that the nfl is like we're going to be progressive
passer on almost every dropback we have apart from screen work at the line of scrimmage so
i think the offensive system alone probably alleviates a lot of this also
you're big on the indiana train i've heard lately
um indiana is not one of these offense that offenses are you know football teams that tries
to stretch the math they're actually trying to shrink it they play they their ideal football
game is 60 offensive snaps like they they don't want to take 75 80 snaps of football games so
we're going to limit the amount of times that we actually put this kid in a position to you know
put the ball at risk with that rpo offense limiting time or you know or mastering time
of possession shrinking the game all that good stuff and just out executing your butt
left and right
so i think it has far more to do with what we're going to ask the quarterback to do
um as opposed to oh he had 52 total turnovers at during his time at tc or whatever the hell
stat is so they don't ask these guys to do all that much other than be accurate with the football
and put the shoulders put the ball on the back shoulder in an rpo format and newsflash he gonna
be able to do that well also he can probably honestly struggle a little bit the defense
is going to be holding the other team to 11 12 points a game and like probably get him through
some early struggles but anyway uh we
let's do a little week one let's do a little week one activity um let's take two random games both
uh ranked matchups or not fully ranked but uh you got clemson at lsu you got louisville omiss on a
neutral site if i guarantee you right now one of those uh one of those highly ranked sec teams is
not surviving this weekend one of them is going down to their acc opponent which one would you
say is more likely to do that i mean i know jack diddle about lincoln conholes but i'd probably
take louisville to be omiss over clemson over lsu and one's a neutral site game one's in death valley
the true death valley so like it's it's really not a a fair uh you know comparison in my opinion
um but no i i'm a jeff braum believer i wouldn't say i'm like pounding the table for jeff braum
it's like a top five football coach in college football but he does a whole lot more with a
whole lot less as opposed to some of these football coaches some of these football coaches have 45
million dollar rosters in texas and they're not going to be able to do that so i'm going to say
turn out nine and threes this guy ain't gonna do that um and i think it's gonna be really hard to
get him out of there everybody knows that's his alma mater um but that that guy does a lot
offensively that is very intriguing um and they're consistently good um i i was i was like double
taking the television screen last year in the month of november when i'm watching a louisville
game and they have a trivia question about what football coaches won the most games in the acc
over the last three years and everybody's thinking dabbo sweeney
mario crystal ball the answer was jeff braum um so this guy wins football games i would not be
surprised if louisville finds a way to win that one my only thing about louisville is like can we
figure out a way to get our best player a true workload without him getting hurt and that's the
form of isaac brown uh last year isaac brown did not have a single football game with more than 16
attempts you ain't i don't know if you're gonna beat old miss on saturday with that he might need
to be able to get a full workload here um almost that jeremiah love
treatment without the secondary great bracken today or jadarian price like we we need you to
take 20 totes today bud um if we're gonna win so i would take louisville over old miss before i took
clemson over lsu do you have any other uh week one game you know it's not a great week one uh it's
not a week one that's got a texas ohio state or that has anything um anything like that like
oklahoma and michigan they're all in week two you have any other game in week one that nobody's got
circle that you're like you know we better get some eyeballs on this something might happen here
we already mentioned the ucla cal game i think that one's going to be very intriguing um especially
again for the sickos that are up till two o'clock in the morning on the first weekend of college
football watching that one um georgia tech colorado maybe like that one's tomorrow that
one's i think during the you're releasing this on thursday that one's on thursday night yeah um
but i i expect those are two really down bad rosters this year i mean i i know georgia tech's
been up and i know brent key is is the guy and and that's his school and he's a culture of toughness
and all that good stuff but go look at that roster and tell me if you know a name brandon hell i'll
do it better liam is the ultimate knower of ball players go ask a liam blutman if he knows anybody
on that georgia tech roster apart from mendoza's little brother and the answer will probably be oh
i remember justice haynes yeah and then that that's about it the only problem is liam
just majors in random guys that are from nowheresville virginia and he he will be able
to pot he will know the backup left guard for georgia tech but he'll only know it for the
sake of knowing it so i so you're fair you're fair enough on that um i guess i'm gonna do it
i wasn't gonna rip the band-aid off give me a little camario taylor man give me give me a little
oh let's do it preach to me sing to me let me let me but imagine i'm gonna i'm in a concert
the the lights are off and you're about to play free bird and i
take my lighter out right now give me a little come on yeah let's let's cut a clip right quick
let's aura farm for brandon walker um camario taylor is the freakiest and traitsiest athlete
to ever play quarterback in the wide choice offense yeah you look this you you go back into
it you go back to ucf when they got dylan gabriel back there that dude's five foot ten he can sling
a little bit but he ain't this you look at byron brown you're like man that guy's a great athlete
guess what camario is and he can throw the football look at this um six foot four 235
pounds runs like a deer can stop on a dime can make every single throw in the world and here's
what i love most brandon walker not just his
loyalty but that young man's work ethic you watched him in high school football he didn't
throw the football like this he did not look like this as a true thrower of the football
when he was 18 years old it was it was ugly man it didn't look pretty now it looks pretty how did
we get there through a copious amounts of work through copious amounts of work this kid here's
where i break your heart this kid will be absolutely legendary this year and if he's not
it's because everybody else around him was piss poor and he'll be in the transfer portal making
eight million dollars in january why why did you do that i was just telling you to preach
and i was uh you you know what you just did you know what you just did you were preaching
and i was in i was i was in the choir and i was swaying and i was saying yeah i preach and and
then at the end you said and it doesn't really matter because you're going to hell anyway well
why would you tell me that
why would you tease me with heaven just to say my ass is my heathen ass is going to hell
hey look eight and four could be some holy water oh you'll take it buddy you'll take that angels
are singing at eight and four buddy angels i do think this kid could be that good though we'll
find out week two if it gets minnesota but i do think this kid could be that good that he drags
that mississippi state roster to a seven or eight win season i'm cashing the over no matter what but
it doesn't happen if it
doesn't happen miami's gonna give that kid nine million dollars stop saying miami stop doing this
okay is that my nightmare yes fine stop saying it stop saying it um also that roster is a little
bit better than you'll get kelly jones is a is a first round pick uh isaac smith is a is a is a
all sec type safety fluff bothwell can run the football like there's more there's more there
than you're acting like there's there you heard it here first folks the diehard mississippi state
fan just gave me three players two of which were defenders
to uh talk about how much help camario taylor has you didn't even give me anthony evans no i was
i was slow playing but i was a speedster at me you made a speedster at me maybe i tricked you
into saying anthony evans you ever think about that well played okay fair enough all right i felt
like i was talking to pate there a little bit you wanted to get a gotcha so bad that you forgot that
you were making okay anyway uh by the way that ball nowhere sign do you sell those or that just
is that just made especially for you yeah there's a lot of stuff around here that was made by
listeners that gets sent in so you have you you have coaches that send you helmets i have
listeners that send me love that's what we got going on so this buffalo was actually uh it's a
live photograph shot in the wild by a listener he sent me that sucker uh this is a 3d printed
ball knower that was sent to me by a listener um this is a a graphic on a poster that was sent to
me by a listener so yeah we got oh the whole wall was done by a listener as well so we got a lot of
cool stuff i get plenty of stuff sent by listeners i had some a listener the other day send me uh i
think it was written in blood it was i guess a fordham university it said fu and i was like dude
this is awesome so i have a fordham university in blood with my picture on it so pretty good
pretty damn good uh let me tell you something before i go any further uh liam blutman is the
ultimate ball watcher uh in in america i am the number one college football media personality but
you this motherfucker right here knows ball dude this this i could sit here and listen to you talk
ball all fucking day so shout out to you uh congratulations all your success i'm not done
but i was just i just want to make sure i said all that before i keep going um a couple a couple
more questions and then i'll let you get out of here i know your time is um half as valuable as
mine so who have we not talked about yet who have we not gotten to around this country that is going
to be okay look i gave you the seven teams i gave you the the miami the notre dame
i gave you indiana oregon ohio state i gave you georgia texas as the seven teams i think on the
elite national title uh who is who did i not mention that should be on that list well it's
i don't think it's texas tech i don't think it's anybody out of the big 12 i agree shout out to
the houston cougars yeah um sneaky sneaky you like them huh oh dude willie fritz a damn ball coach
brother i agree ball coach um and they got some they got some money somewhere like they they got
andre hearst that's a name you need to know an absolute dog of an interior offensive lineman
you talking about a a clip farmer that dude puts folks on their backs for four quarters uh go watch
that old miss football game and just look at number 52 the fire hydrant of a left guard um
they're gonna be good this year they're gonna be tough to be always really good defensively
i thought austin armstrong got a bad rap out there at florida during his time as a dc um but
no i i don't think it's gonna be the fourth best team in the big 10 i i do think there is a
gap right there um so i would look at a football team like oklahoma um just because you mentioned
indiana last year right indiana defensively was absolutely insane they were a slobber knocker they
could have scored 26 points per game offensively last year and still went 16 and 0 um i think
oklahoma is that defensively the problem is last year they couldn't consistently score 26
offensive points per game yeah um this year i do think there is going to be a little bit more of
consistency on the offensive end i don't think they're going to be so one-dimensional and
explosive dependent which is what they turned into last year they couldn't run the football
they couldn't protect their quarterback at a high enough rate and john matier was sitting
back there going all right well i gotta be a superhero today and that's probably the worst
case scenario for him uh because it's ultimately going to lead to a lot of turnover worthy play
um so brought in two brand new tight ends that actually play tight end uh had three freshmen
play on the offensive line last year that are going to be nfl football players for susie
eddie pierre louis and i always forget the right guard's name it's something crazy and funky
um despite the fact that my brain can remember for susie but i guess it just sounds cool
um my questions there would be like are you explosive enough and good enough at the wide
receiver position outside of isaiah satanga um but i would look at them because defensively and
brandon i'm interested in your take on this i do think we're in a defensive era of football that
nobody really talks about agree you look at those you look at those 21 and 22 georgia teams they
know what michigan was in 23 that 24 ohio state defense was elite and last year you know indiana
was a borderline historic despite the fact that they finished second in college football in total
defense behind that ohio state team but we're in a defensive era of football and i think oklahoma
is that on on the defensive side of the football you likened them to indiana and that's a good
comparison i liken them to last year's miami team in the sense that this schedule for oklahoma i
don't think it allows them to go 12 and 0 or 11 and 1 but if they can get to that 10 and 2 level
that they can get to 10 and 2 and get like the 9th through 12th seed remember last year when
miami went 10 and 2 they snuck into the playoff and then once they got to the playoff they just
started absolutely wrecking people at the line of scrimmage just wrecked texas a&m wrecked ohio
state absolutely we're destroying people that i believe is the recipe for oklahoma
survive the regular season with 10 wins get to the playoff and just start throwing that defense around
all of a sudden you're playing for a national championship that's who i compare them to because
i think the path is very similar i like that they they don't have i don't think they have the elite
edge rushers but david david stone's gonna wreck football games this year no doubt for sure yeah
they're they're just gonna they're just gonna they're gonna be like going up against a brick
wall they're not gonna be like gonna they're not gonna be a defensive that absolutely attacks you
like with the missiles coming off the edge but it's gonna be you're gonna get tired of just
banging up against that thing banging up against that thing all of a sudden you're in the third
quarter you're down seven and you just have no hope and that's what i feel like oklahoma feels
like now that is contingent on everything you said they gotta be the receivers have to come along
because the schedule is is brutal and scheduling is the one i know you break down everything in
college football scheduling i believe is the last ignored frontier where we just don't give it as
much credit as we need to because since the 12 team playoff started six teams have gotten there
based solely on their schedule like i think a&m last year was a schedule team
they played for they played the playoff because their schedule was easy indiana the first year
played in the playoff because their schedule was easy smu that year tennessee that year
so um i look at that and i think we have a lot more schedule balance across this country you
look in the big 10 oregon indiana ohio state usc there's just a magical mix of those teams playing
this year and i don't think we have i don't know if we're going to have any schedule pretenders
outside of if penn state makes a run oh there you go yeah yeah
penn state's definitely got the schedule um yeah but i don't i don't know if i can fully get there
with them i maybe talk me into it because i know they only have three really tough looking games
on their schedule but like their their iowa state with some penn state mixed in i don't see that i
don't see that as a recipe for for just dominating the other nine teams on their schedule somebody can
get them right for sure i am a rocco beck believer um i think he's far he's a far better thrower of
people realize but he just he turns it over too many times in big football games so everybody just
backs away on that immediately but when i turned his tape on i was like whoa that ball jumps um
much better much better throw over the football than than people give him credit for um but i'm
with you it's hard for me to look at a team that i if you look at their their too deep their their
starting lineup is filled their 22 starters is like 19 of them were on iowa state last year and
they were fine they were seven and five fine in the big 12 it's like yeah come on uh i'm with you
in that from that standpoint it's like i don't necessarily believe in them but they have an
absolute
crap show of a schedule and that's what happens when we have three and a half four and a half
depending on the year good big 10 teams a great big 10 teams i shouldn't say good great big 10
teams in a conference that has 18 teams and they randomize the schedule like you're you're going to
get the luck of the draw in these some of these times um and that's the situation that's where
we're at well you know texas tech's got the 77th ranked schedule in the sport and uh uh roster
disparity in that conference that is unmatched by anybody in football i mean they have so much
more resources than everybody else in our conference you know this your listeners know
this agreed uh i got a couple questions um number one did you wear that shirt to suck up to blutman
today no i wore it to suck up to bob chesney because good lord that man is handsome okay
fair enough no no yeah but shout out to blutman uh you know i figured i had a couple options to
rock today i figured i have a rule you send it i wear it
except for your merch i don't know if i'm rocking brandon walker football show stuff
but well that's because you haven't seen the shirt i'm working on bud i'll text it to you
you know what fuck you i'll text it to you right now i want you to see this i haven't shown it to
anybody else i'm showing this to anybody else it's going to take me just a second to pull it up here
can't wait to leak it onto the time no don't leak it don't leak it because when you see this
i'm i don't want to overreact you're going to shit your pants on camera where the fuck is our group
chat uh lukey where is it uh is it a cartoon train why don't you just settle down for a second
why don't you settle down and let me send you the damn thing there's the bwc show um i figured i
figure you copy everything that god does so you might as well copy his merch when have i ever
fucking copied josh pate you tell me that when have i copied josh pate i had the brandon walker
football show when he was still doing his goddamn late kick that nobody liked and then he changed
his to josh pate show when have i ever copied him
look tremendous amount of respect for you but in your announcement that you were going to do this
you basically said i see josh pate's success and i want to copy him that i didn't say copy i said i
wanted to basically that's i'm paraphrasing you basically you have to understand in the in in the
viewer's viewpoint that's kind of what we heard but it's okay i'm copying him too i see what he
wants and i want the mountaintop don't don't i'm fixing to dock your fucking phone number that's
what i'm about to do i'm gonna
your fucking phone number all right um here we go you ready i'm ready yeah you tell me if i
god damn it old man old man is old man and his phone where is our group
shut up shut up i'm not copying anybody i'm not time out time out give me give me 20 struggles
with phone and shouts at clouds we're we're we're clipping it
give me give me a 20 you can't clip my show who told you you can hook up you can clip my show
you're right you're right that's on me that's on me i don't care if you clip my show you have my
i'm sorry boss i'm tired but that's what i feel like with this phone right i'm tired boss all
right here we go what's your name brooks austin more commonly known as the film guy
you can subscribe on the film guy network at any moment yeah you're welcome for that uh live one
day through thursdays eight o'clock ten o'clock
uh i want you to look at this i've got it it's loaded there now you tell me if i have just
designed the best piece of merch in college football it's not bad you're goddamn right
it's not bad um it's not bad we'll have to show that to the audience too uh some sometime here
in the future um i'll send you one of those how about that you told me you started this whole
digression by saying i'm not a fan of college football i'm not a fan of college football
saying i would never wear your merch now i'm gonna ask you would you ever wear my merch
i mean the front of it is a little milquetoast but that's okay
everyone shows up for the back right i'm a i certainly do i'll just right i'll just do my
show like this i'm a i'm wearing it i'm a 47 year old white guy from west point mississippi
milquetoast is what i'm aiming for um all right let me ask you a quick question you're the film
guy what's your what's your process like let's let's get in your head uh there will be um 80
75 uh division one football games this saturday yeah you can't watch them all you can't break
down break them all down on film so what's your process you show up to sunday after a day of
football what how do you how do you do it how do you break it all down yeah i obviously take the
biggest games of the week things that i know people are going to watch things that i know
people are interested in and then i combine that with things that i'm interested in but from an
actual film process standpoint i don't have pff i don't have the fancy cut-ups like i have base
old school stock all 22 i don't have the fancy cut-ups like i have base old school stock all 22
i have if they take 75 plays on offense and 67 plays on defense i got play number one through 75
and i sit there with my little ipad and i go play by play and i chart and i take notes and i grind
that shit out it i my my app that i have for film brandon and i'm not patting myself on the back but
i am um my my app tracks as much like how much film i'm watching throughout the week
uh last year during college football season i was watching 36 hours of film from sunday morning
until wednesday afternoon um and then starting it all over again come the next week so yeah we we
we grind a lot of tape our little saying is shut up and grind the tape but that's the way i do it
i don't know how to do it any other way um it's it's my little niche and it's it's what i feel
like i do best personally um from an education standpoint so that that's my process what do
people i know what what are people interested in what am i interested in sit down put it on
the projector and go to work that's the only way i know how to do it
and what i said was i have been doing i've been doing a podcast with multiple other people about
college football for seven years with casey smith god bless her a great friend of mine t bob was on
it last year blubman uh big f and what i said was i see josh paid out there with one camera one mic
and it's just him talking about it and he gets to say whatever he wants he doesn't have to hear
anybody else talk that's what i wanted and that's what i'm doing so uh you know what the gravy train
for you guys out there is all over because brandon walker's on the scene by himself so
these hoes around here okay so so that's what i gotta say about that i didn't copy nobody i'm
brandon fucking walker at a boy i'm so glad i'm so glad football season's back i can also hear a
lot of 90s wrestling in you too you just you just cut a little heel tape that's nice that's nice
my entire career is a little heel tape um all right how do we want to wrap this up so so week
one is here um i'll just let you take it anywhere the 2002 this is going to be as as generic as it
is so you you got to do bring a little talent here to the the four and show me what you got
the 2026 college football season will be known as the season of what uh a nine and three team
making it from the sec making it over a 10 and two penn state that is what we will be irate about in
december nine and three texas nine and three texas will get into the college football playoff over a
10 and two penn state and people's heads will explode and they will blame espn all about arch
manning and this is only because of the college football season so you got to do it bring a little
of the manning family i'm telling y'all right there i'm telling y'all this guy's a fucking
dude that's such a pointed and perfect prediction because that 10 and two penn state team will be
so fraudulent and that nine and three teams going to have been through so many wars but i'll say
this before i go the sec doesn't have enough oxygen in the room to support all these teams
that think they're going nine and three or better georgia thinks they're going to the playoff texas
thinks they're going to play off a and m thinks they're going to play off ole miss thinks they're
going to play off oklahoma thinks they're going to play off and i'm missing a very obvious one
there's at least seven that lsu the lsu tigers thank you lsu all seven of those teams believe
right now there's nothing standing between them in the playoff guess what there's seven of them
teams and then there's another five or six that have the capability of beating any of those seven
so somebody's getting fired that we don't know somebody the bottom's falling out for somebody
brooks this is about to be a crazy three months most likely yep no doubt
um we're in an era of sec football where everybody can pay and it's all about crowdsourcing passing
the hat getting our roster up to a talent level and a spending level that we believe is is
competitive which creates a lot of false hope uh because we spend a lot of money which means we got
a good football team and we demand that we make a playoff and not everybody can go only about four
of you can and you're right there's about seven of them that think this is our year so so you
you've already you've made the mistake of telling me you're you're
making the mistake of telling me you're you're making the mistake of telling me you're
i will be sending you a nude picture of myself um maybe just topless but that if that is not
uh on your set in the next three months we we have an official issue
i mean i'm ready to have an issue if you want one okay i didn't exactly scare him listen uh this guy
knows what the fuck he's doing this this guy is uh this guy's awesome the film guy is brooks
austin you guys if you watch my show i'm sure you know who he is uh but i want to give him even more
of an endorsement than that this guy is awesome i'm sure you know who he is but i want to give him
this guy this guy is this guy's the fucking truth so thank you for doing it and hopefully
a couple more times during the season we'll uh we'll do it again no doubt b walk shout out to
blumman we'll see you all right thanks all right so we interview the most important people in
college football because i am the number one media personality in college football and i was as
impressed as anybody with virginia the other day the transfer quarterback from missouri and penn
state he's with us now it's bo perbula guy was everywhere saturday only threw it 11 times because
he told me before i'm only going to throw it 11 times so dude just just just watch this anyway
bo what's up man how was saturday what's up thanks for having me
me uh it was great um the atmosphere in charlottesville was awesome um team came to play
um and just you know happy that we're one to know after week one i think this is a perpetually
underrated team i think they were underrated last year they won 11 games then they add you
you know what's what's going on in charlottesville right now why is why is everything so hot over
there you know i think i think it all starts with coach e um and his culture and kind of what he's
built here and his vision for uva um kind of you know when he took over a couple years ago it
definitely wasn't what it is right now and it's just kind of been on an upward trajectory you
know since he's gotten here and that all starts with um kind of what he believes in and his core
values and that's it's building champion men you know you want to win football games but um it's
about doing it the right way and building you know a program from the ground up you know you've you've
done the transfer thing a couple times now when you when you were going out there looking at your
options and uh knowing that you had one more year to do this thing uh what were you considering and
why was it coach elliott that that was the one thing that you were considering and why was it
the one that that sold you on his vision i think what i just told you as far as his culture um and
and what he does but also sitting down um you know with the offensive coordinator coach kitch here and
my quarterback coach coach lamb um and kind of you know watching film and seeing what what their
offense is like and how that you know how we would fit into each other's schemes and kind of you know
what i do best and and what fits me and i think one of the best things about working with coach
kitch is that he kind of
you know builds off of of what i've ran in the past and things i've been comfortable with um and
and what kind of fits my skill set and i think that that's been huge so far i know you you can
run the football and you you the other day it was incredible you're just running all over nc state
uh but the idiots online and and will say oh yeah he can run it but he can't throw it
and to that i say yeah he he can definitely throw it what do you say to those idiots
yeah i mean nothing externally um really kind of affects me at all i don't i don't read it
any of that stuff i don't you know i don't look into any of that stuff so it doesn't really
um kind of impact impact me internally i read everything externally if somebody says something
about me online i see it in seconds you're a you're you're you're you're you're a better man
than i am that's your job though that's your job to read that stuff yeah you probably knew you were
a better man before you even came here uh have you considered uh i'm sure you have but uh let
me ask you this you started your career penn state coached by james franklin now you're at virginia
tech you guys are going to end the season uh as arch rivals looking across the field from each
other have you considered what that's going to feel like yeah i mean that's definitely uh you
know one of the games on our schedule last game of the year it's a big one for us but for right
now i mean it's on to on the week two for us you know it's uh i know that last year virginia won
11 games played for a conference championships but it feel still feels like outside of the
building there's not a whole lot of belief in virginia and i don't know why that is do you guys
talk about that inside the building and about building the building and i don't know why that
building uh do you talk about the fact that nobody believes in you or are you just totally
100 internally focused no no that's not something we talk about um you know it's completely
internally focused what about so i know you you know you were in missouri last year uh i thought
you know i know you had a little bit of injury problem there in the middle of the season um
what led when you decided to leave missouri and you decided to go on do you do you look back at
your time at missouri as a as a mistake or a building block how do you look back at it uh
i'm definitely grateful for my time there i had a lot of fond memories there you know as my first
year as a starting quarterback um you know i got the opportunity to be you know a starting
quarterback there for the first time um in the sec and it was a great experience so i'm glad that
you know i was able to go there and that's you know helped shape me into the person i am today
now let's talk about uh the the the way you lied to me bo because you told me uh
you told me when we sat down you said oh i'm sorry i gotta go to class uh you're a senior
you don't you don't go to class it's online class yeah okay all right you said you said i gotta go
and there's just no way you gotta go you definitely have lunch or a nap you gotta get to
it's definitely lunch for sure okay yeah there we go let's just all tell the truth what do you
think of charlottesville so far you've had a couple stops it's a it's a pretty cool college
town huh it is yeah i do like charlottesville um there's a lot going on outside the university here
um just within the town itself so i've enjoyed being here back on the east coast kind of more
what i'm familiar with and i've enjoyed it so going forward you know you say you're giving me
the right answers you know week two is all we're focused on week three and then week four you'll
go on uh but what is the what is success the rest of the season look like to bow perbula i think
you know for me and for our team just you know being the best that we can be um and and that's
just working every day to to to be the best we can be because if you know we put you know lofty
goals up in the air you know we we lose focus so just trying to remain focused on what's the
most important thing and that's practice tomorrow on our bi-week when you go to a when you go into
a game like if i told you going into the nc state game all right you're going to run this many times
and you're going to you're only going to throw it 11 times do you do you like that would you
like to throw it more or is it just whatever whatever it takes to win a football game you
know and that's that's kind of the mindset i had going into this game and that's really the mindset
i have going in every game you know if i have to run the ball a hundred times if i have to throw
the ball a hundred times whatever works you know i just want to put points on the board i just listen
you can you can talk you can talk to me it's it's brandon okay you don't want to run the ball a
hundred times a hundred times it's crazy i mean we don't run a hundred plays in a game um so i mean
it was a bit exaggerated but but seriously like if i have to if i have to put my head down and run
the ball yeah do whatever it takes uh to the to the ladies that are watching um what does
like to do off the field big golfer love to golf um get on the links um you think you can beat me
what do you shoot uh i'm between
85 and 90 pretty much right now okay that's that's kind of the range i sit in um i think i
could beat you yeah i figured you did i figured you did and uh i know that you can beat me so i
don't even know why i brought it up because i also lied uh i don't know why i said 85 i haven't seen
85 all summer i thought i would but my driver's just it just it's just not turning over the way
it should late in the summer it's just it continues to slice and i can't putt anyway uh i did want to
talk to you about these things today about me putting and everything like that um
so going forward uh for virginia for everything um i know that uh you know nfl futures or whatever
do you do you focus on developing uh things they might like to see or do you focus on only doing
things virginia needs uh for me right now it's only doing things virginia needs um and that's
you know doing anything i can to win do you do you make anything of because i know you're never
going to face this situation probably but like the guys who have gone to nfl camps and are now
coming back and there's this big fight in college football about eligibility what do you make of all
that controversy and is that something that crosses your desk i have no idea i mean i guess
it kind of crosses my desk but yeah is it affects me in some way maybe yeah i honestly don't really
know what's going on with all that stuff and i'm not sure if anybody else does either so
but right now i just kind of go with the flow i got to be honest bo that's the correct answer i
am paid to do this uh not as handsomely as you are but i am paid to do this and i'm paid to do this
and i have no idea what's going on with that crap it's just absolutely absolutely crazy and
i don't even try to pay attention anyway bo i know you got to get to class or lunch or whatever you
got to do i know you got to get a quick nap before practice because you don't want to talk to me
um but uh i appreciate you talking to me and i thank you for your time i appreciate you thanks
for having me uh all right that's bo perbula uh current heisman leading uh quarterback but
that's because nobody else has played so uh let's see if he holds on to that lead thanks bo
thank you
