It's the 2026 edition of the Sunday recap with fantasy pros. I'm your host Scott Bogdan joined by Tara Roberts. And Dr. Deepak Shona, Tara, first Sunday of the year. Got it under your belt. I know you were disgusted before we were live here with your Packers. But how did how did your fantasy week go for you here? Great fantasy week. Great DFS week was really hoping that we could get this Washington overtime. But overall good. Scott Fishball team with Crystal Love a Tyler Schuckstack is like the nastiest combination that ever existed. Good fun. Speaking of disgusting, that looked real bad in the first half. Yeah. Here we are. Here we are. Dr. Deepak Shona here to tell us about the injuries today. How was your first Sunday of the year, my friend? I pretty much right or die with the Texans so that pretty much tells you the story. But I did like CJ Stroudy. He looked pretty good. He did. Yeah, he did look good. The defense. The defense. What was happening there? I can't believe it. Yeah, I didn't see much from him. I was very, very surprised. But we'll see if it's week one. Well, of course, we are going to go over the injuries while we have Dr. Deepak Shona here. We're going to give you the storylines with myself and Tara. We're going to look at the panic meter. See who we are actually panicking on after week one. And give you guys some time to ask us some questions at the end. We're trying to get this all done before Sunday night football kicks off. So let's get to the injuries to start here. And we had a decent amount in week one, not as bad as it could be, but, you know, just to start here, AJ Brown, obviously on the Wednesday game goes down with the ankle injury, Brock Bowers before the season starts, which, oh, this one made me sick. The meniscus trim, Sam Donald with the glued injury, we're calling it now. We thought it might have been a really rough hip injury here, but it looks like it's a glued injury, Zay flowers was tearing it up in the first half against the Colts before leaving with a hamstring injury, Kyler Murray left with a concussion injury as well. So Deepak, let's start, let's start with AJ Brown, I guess. What are your thoughts on this ankle injury and it looks like he's going to be out at least a month? Is that right? Yeah, there are. You're reporting that this is going to take at least six weeks. And given that timeline straight from the jump, we can kind of assume this is a severe high ankle. That's not good news for even when he does return, even if it takes that six weeks, which is pretty reasonable expectation, that typically causes a four to six week pretty serious production hit as well. And during that window, that's when you're worried about re-endery. So there's a lot of kind of variables to consider here. I would say you're probably not getting much trade value for an AJ Brown, but this is pretty bad news all around. Tara, who do you pivot to if AJ Brown is out? Is Romeo Dobbs like garbage? Matt Collins is on the field more. Is there anyone in New England that you feel good about picking up with AJ Brown being down? Yeah, I am going to advocate for Matt Collins. I mean, Romeo Dobbs, what they paid for him, they're not going to ice him out completely. He'll get another opportunity. But at the end of the day, he has had drop problems before. This is not a new issue in consistency. So if you're looking to waivers and thinking, like, let me try and capitalize because I've seen a lot of like people saying, it might be Kyle Williams. Time. No, I genuinely think we're going back to what we had last year, where we'll have Matt Collins. But now that we don't have Keisha on booty, a thinned out receiving core, it'll allow for a higher consistent snap count. I do think that's the one that you want for a flex option in deeper leagues. But at the end of the day for more shallow leagues, you might want to look elsewhere. And Deepak with Brock Bowers being down, you know, mayor looked okay. But how long are we going to expect Brock Bowers to miss here with this meniscus trim? You know, so they've come out and said that mostly driven from his camp, they're saying he's hoping to come back week two, potentially. The data says that's a little optimistic, certainly has been done. However, more likely would be week three here. Typically does take about four weeks. So he'd be already kind of pushing up the timeline a bit. And then when he does come back, the return to kind of predatory production level is pretty quick. Usually takes just about two games to ramp up. The real concern here is not so much the short term in my eyes, but the long term, this is potentially the same knee that had the PCL from last year. And then now he has some damage to the shock absorber and they basically go in and trim that. So you can imagine you're left with less shock absorber in that knee going forward. And therefore, it does tend to be associated with shorter primes and more missed games due to injury down the road in this type of setting. So long term, a little bit of concern, and you hate to see that. Oh, man, that's really, there's really things for me at Bowers everywhere, Tara. How, after week one, is there someone that you're looking at adding, maybe I guess, Sikki had a big week, obviously, Concave did, but he's owned everywhere. I'm going to score it touchdowns at e-score touchdown, anyone that jumps off the page at you. You know, I think you might just want to try and roll the dice with Michael Mayer. We did see decent volume out of him, seven targets. It wasn't super productive in terms of yardage, 32 yards, but that was the case for all of the receiving options, really. So it might just been one of those games where it was a big, genty game in other situations where they're playing from behind what should happen a lot more. We can see them push the ball a little bit more. So I was encouraged to see that level of usage from him right off the bat. So if you have to make a pivot, that would probably be the direction that I would go. I think that the Sikki thing, we might want to watch the Sikki thing, because maybe that's a, that might be a Tampa Bay matchup thing. So maybe that said tight ends against Tampa Bay thing to watch out for. I don't think that that's going to be consistent. Very well could be, um, Deepak, let's talk about Zay going down, Zay flowers with the hamstring injury. He was really, really tearing it up at the beginning of this game here and pulled his hamstring. Do we know how long this is going to be or typical of these injuries? Yes. So consider that this is a re-aggravation of an injury he's been dealing with since probably August. It looks like he was limited on the practice reports to start this week and then kind of ramped his way to full. And that being said, you know, re-aggravation typically take longer than the initial injury. So initial injury would average about two weeks with re-aggravation, usually looking at three to five. It's unclear like to what degree the severity is on this hamstring. So we just have to watch for that, but you'd have to imagine they want this player with them in the home stretch. So they may not be eager to rush them back. I would expect at least a couple weeks out. Sarah, in the meantime, are you looking to pick up anyone on the Ravens or is there someone else to cut your eye this week? Oh, I love me. Some Jacobi. Jacobi. Well, so many Jacobi's now Jacobi Lane, yeah, percent Myers, geez, Jacobi Lane was very pro Jacobi Lane. I'm very encouraged by what we saw from him this week because the stats aren't going to pop out to you. He had a touchdown, was called back from a hold on the offensive line. He had multiple targets from Lamar Jackson in the red zone. I think he has separated himself from Rashad Bay. It's early, right? But based off what I've seen, it looks like Lamar does have that initial trust with him. And that's excellent to see in a rookie. They're very different players. So this will not be a one for one replacement in terms of him being able to step in and fulfill Z flowers, but hopefully a volume shift in terms of more towards ham. So that one, regardless of the Z flowers situation is one that I was already looking at and seeing as a rookie that is in a promising offense, Lamar Jackson looked on fire. That's one that I would make the investment into. Derek, and I got Derek Henryd and at least one week this week, this three scores depocked the two quarterbacks and went down Sam Donnell with the glute, Kyler Murray with the concussion. What are the varying degrees of mistime on these? Yeah, Kyler Murray doesn't have a substantial concussion history that we know of. So the average time is going to be about nine days, eight to nine. So most players do miss one week. About a third are able to come back without missing any time. So in most cases, he would miss week two and come back week three. With regard to Sam Donnell, the question is a little bit atypical of an injury based on the reporting. He's now getting a fourth opinion. So getting that many opinions suggests to me that this is on the higher end of severity and he's kind of considering what routes in terms of usually probably surgical or non-surgical he can really go. My guess is this is a multi-week absence. They have basically ruled him out for week two, at least informally. And I would be pretty surprised if he came back week three, but I also wouldn't be surprised here if this ends up on the IR.
So which quarterbacks, Tara, are we looking to pick up in the mean time? I mean, when's didn't look bad in the second half at least, so, uh, but that seems like it's not a long absence. Berset looked okay, speaking of Jacobi's, anybody else off the top of your mind, uh, are you adding for these injured quarterbacks, maybe in a super flex? Yeah, it's tough because I, in one QB, I know, yeah, we wouldn't really be messing around, but in super flex, in terms of who you would be able to turn to, I do think it would have to be Carson Winx as the only ad or you could just do the direct one for one with true luck. Hmm. Yeah. Injury. We love it to start the season here, uh, Deepak, a couple other ones, just if you have any thoughts on that we didn't get to the graphic, uh, Lad Maconky left, look like he got hidden the back and then they called that a chest injury. We had Stribbling Lee with the ankle, you know, um, to a left, BTJ left with a shoulder and return. Are any of these looking like long term concerning injuries to you? Stribbling. I think you can say certainly is it's a, uh, deltoid sprain. So it's basically a variant of ankle sprain. We don't see that often. It's about, they're saying about a month out. And with that in mind, uh, that, that typically will carry some lingering hit when he comes back, not as severe as what we're kind of talking about with AJ Brown, but, uh, but somewhere in between there. So with that being said, that's the one I'd worry about the most. Maconky, it looked like he was holding his hip when he went down. He got, took a big hit to the kind of lower back area and them calling it a chest makes me almost wonder like did he, are they talking about a rib potential injury? He didn't come back as far as I'm aware and that the concern would be if he has a rib fracture, then he's probably not coming back immediately, uh, with that average would be two to three weeks out. But my hope is that it's not that severe. And if he avoided fracture, it could just be a, a big hit contusion bruising type thing. And more of a, like a pain control issue that he could come back from structurally without a problem. Ugh, bad day for the chargers for sure here. Uh, good day for the Niners outside of the Stribbling stuff on Thursday. So, uh, but Deepak, thank you so much for joining us and filling us in on all these injuries. All right, Mrs Tara Roberts, we are going to talk about the storylines. What do you have for number one here? And I don't know how I messed this up. Here we go. I got it. I'm fixing it. There we go. What is number one on the storylines here? Storylines number one is Swift and JT. The touchdowns were absolutely flowing from both of them. The first one that I want to talk about though is going to be Deandre Swift because I moved him up a lot in rankings. We were drafting him towards the mid, kind of like around RB18 area. I moved him up this week because really like the match up for one. Because I think sometimes we forget that Chicago is an extremely run heavy team. They can pass. They can put up volume when they need to. But pass volume can dip for them because they are too deep at running back. They like to lean on the ground game in between Swift and Kalmanangai. They were very aggressive in top five in rush attempt slash year. So I'm not surprised that this happened. Deandre Swift was one of my favorite value picks for a guy that you could draft just a little bit later in the mid rounds and then feel and fourth or fifth and then feel really good about him as an RB two with potential RV one upside. So he just really showcased exactly what we were expecting in a very good game. I will say it was a great match up. So we do have to be a little bit careful because we did see plenty of involvement from Kalmanangai and that was good to see with him coming off of the injury. But at the end of the day, beautiful day for Swift and then beautiful day for Jonathan Taylor as well. Obviously Derek Henry. Running backs working they just really today was about proving that early investment in running backs was the way to go rather than waiting with a few exceptions into that dreaded later dead zone. So GT looking good with Daniel Jones back offense was flowing moving very well. He didn't put up a massive volume game. Daniel Jones didn't but at the end of the day, it was really good to see that level of production check downs to GT as well. So just a very encouraging performance that we should see continue on through the rest of the season. Yeah. The offense looked okay. Yeah. But he defense for the cults did not look okay and everyone in the chat. Everyone is bringing up Colson Loveland. We will absolutely get to Colson Loveland and Jermar chase in the panic meter part of the show here. But now we are going over kind of the positive stuff in the story lines. What's number two for you, Tara? And number two is Gibbs big day without David Montgomery, massive day volume. They were not kidding. You know, I know people got concerned in terms of just how much workload are they going not concerned, but just kind of wondering like how far is it going to push with workload on Jermar Gibbs? I mean, he was pushing 30 carries 150 yards, multiple touchdowns caught as well, our caught passes as well per his typical, but really just the beauty on the ground was incredible. And then on the opposite end, David Montgomery as well, and I have to do an apology to David Montgomery because I was skeptical in my bold prediction. So I said that, you know, he might just be putting up a, you know, a RB three production. And for him to come out right off the bat with some still reasonable involvement from Woody Marks dominating at the goal line like that, heavy with 20 carries. I was very impressed by the work that he did. Well, honestly, it was a great match up. So this was a good week to utilize Monty. He was a top 20 for me in ranking. So massively over perform that was, was a safe start in a good match up, but to see this level of output, especially because we weren't expecting this to be a massive offensive game from both of these teams. So it was like the supposed to be the defensive bowl and Buffalo's defense and Houston's defense. And then we just had offenses lighting it up both ways so it was, yeah, I was like, well, okay. That was interesting. That, that, that touchdown to Shakir. It looked like the stuff on Dig's play where Blankenship went for the pick and just whiffed on it and then you just turned around and it's nothing but green grass. That was a great play. And then right before the, the bill scored, you know, what ended up being the game winning touchdown, Lassard dropped that pick in the end zone and hit him right in the hands, man. Josh Allen gave it away and you couldn't seal it. Yeah, that's a disappointing loss for Texans fans here. Speaking of that game, how about Dalton concaid with this breakout of six targets. Five catches, 130 yards made a couple of huge catches. I was super skeptical. I'll eat crow on this one on Dalton concaid because it was like, since he got hurt early in 2024, he had been in and on over 50% of the snaps in like, like six games since then he'd been dealing with this PCL injury. He decided not to have surgery on it. I thought everything was going to be a little more negative for concaid, but he torch what we thought was going to be the best defense or at least the second best defense behind the Rams. And that looks like an aberration at this point, but, um, concaid look great. Is this something to build on? Is this something you would maybe go? Maybe I go ahead and see if anybody wants to bite on this, maybe a trade action for Dalton concaid a little bit, or, you know, hey, look, uh, we got Hardo McDermott out of there. Now show Brady letting them sling it, uh, are we more positive on concaid after this huge game? Yeah. You spoiled me there. Um, I do the five, uh, moves to make video that drops on Tuesday and sell Dalton concaid will be in on it because you were right in practice. And I'm, um, exactly with you on that in terms of the injuries, the fact that back to back seasons, the very was it tied in 20, tied in 30 back to back seasons. He was already being drafted above his ceiling, which was what we saw in his rookie seasons. So theoretically, there's, you know, this higher upside for him. But I actually liked concaid this week, as a start, he's a top 10, um, option for me. I'm not shocked at all. The portion of this game that I was shocked and maybe this is honestly, it could have been different in right.
in practice. If we didn't have, I can't remember which back it was, but the big DJ Moore catch where whatever back it was went for the interception, whiffed, just barely missed it, and then it was just an easy touch and our catch and run for DJ Moore for the big touchdown. If that didn't happen theoretically, it would have played out like we thought in terms of the tougher coverage being on DJ Moore in a bigger opportunity for a guy like Dalton King Cade. So I'm not surprised that he had this game against Houston. I would not expect this level of consistent, this level of upside on a consistent basis. We do have to remember, like he just in preseason was dealing with what was a little injuries. Well, I don't trust him overall. So this is a good opportunity to get out of there because we're not going to see consistent 300 plus yard games from Josh Allen. We didn't get a heavy production on the ground from James Cook. You didn't have a touchdown. He had 57 yards. Josh Allen did run a little bit, but 23 yards. So over and his touchdowns as well. But overall, there should be more run volume in this offense. So that past volume will come down a bit and there will be those games where it's a big DJ Moore game and don't. King Cade gets nothing and up wait. It's a Kalashakir gate and don't. I hesitated to tell anyone to start Basel Tut in this week because my fear was that this was genuinely going to be a split in this first week and hopefully we would be able to gleam something of this and I don't know if we did unfortunately because if you look at the box score, you'd take away would be okay. Basel T in 15 carries 66 rushing yards. He caught a pass. Chris Rodriguez, six carries, 23 yards. Okay, it's Tuton backfield. Not quite. The first half. Yeah, the first half. This was evenly split and visually. It was looking like it was tilting a little bit more towards Rodriguez and in the red zone as well. And I don't think we got the best showcase of really what this split will ultimately be. And only one check down, although that's not unusual because Trevor Lawrence is not a massive check down guy. He's a more of a meaningful check down guy. It's not as if Travis ETN, HN, whatever had massive receptions. They were just very critical big plays and touchdown opportunities. So it was more even in the first half. Rodriguez did play through the end. So this was not. You can't look at it and say like, oh, second half, they really just decided that they wanted to pull Rodriguez. So maybe it is his backfield. I think it's very split and I don't think we got the answer we were looking for here. Our answer was Parker Washington. That was our answer. He looked great. That touchdown catch. I mean, he stretched out every inch. He probably could get that. What a beautiful, beautiful catch by Parker Washington. He made those in college too. Yeah, the official split. I'm not sure if you said it or not. It was 28 snaps for Tutan and 23 for C-Rod with 10 routes run for Tutan and 12 for C-Rod. So not exactly 50-50, but as close as you can get without being exactly 50-50. So yeah, Parker Washington looked great. BTJ left. You know, Myers did have a couple more snaps in Washington and BTJ got hurt. So I do wonder what that looks like in the future, but Parker watched him by far. The best wide receiver out there for the Jags. And then the last one up. What is number five on your storylines here? Number five, I was a little bit debating, but we did a lot of positive stuff. So let's do a little Wamp Wamp. Trust in Herbert and the chargers. I hate it for 81 because I know there were people that had the chargers and their survivables and yikes, yikes, yikes. They lost. This was supposed to be the big, the big coming out of this new offense under Mike McDaniel and the Justin Herbert volume in big plays. And I was all in on Quentin Johnston and Quentin Johnston just got nothing like where were the big plays downfield Quentin Johnston. It was, and we didn't, you know, Emory and Hampton, 12 carries, 43 yards, touchdown. The touchdown was great, but it I thought, you know, initially like, okay, we're off to it. So it'd be a nice, run heavy game, big game from Hampton. That amounted to basically nothing. And the offense just kind of dwindled. Vlad McConkey had the wonderful day. It was good to see him bounce back and pay off for where we drafted him for sure, but the injury we already talked about. This was just incredibly, incredibly frustrating. A rendez-gad Stendon pop, we had a usage of a David and Joku. This was just such a messy, messy day that was underwhelming in a matchup with Arizona, which is arguably the easiest, one of the easiest defensive matchups that we're going to have. Unless this defense somehow improved under, under our nose. And we just didn't really notice this is a little bit of a red flag for us that, uh-oh, maybe we might have to come to a reckoning, unfortunately, with Justin Herbert in the Chargers. Yeah, a lot of, you know, I guess maybe you can say they're adjusting to a new offense, right? We could give him that excuse, at least for week one, but it's the card. Maybe you got to go. You should be, you know, I live right now, but they survived the Falcons, you know what I mean? Like you should survive the Cardinals at any point. So maybe they're better than we thought, but yeah, that was, it was a bad day to be starting Chargers here. So, uh, tough day at Ladd had all the, oh, the targets. Yeah, all the targets were going down. So, just not a good day for the Chargers overall. But now it is time to interact. Let's just start with those tight ends. Colson Loveland and Kyle Pits. Oh my God. 59 points for Chicago and Colson Loveland was non-existent. He was there. He was out there. I mean, he played. He was starting on that comment. Touchdown. Very well. Yeah.
at our points per blocking leagues, he was, he was cool. Um, good. Lord, I, I will say that this is an opportunity, because it wasn't just like, um, now Rome was clearly a little bit limited. But burden was unimpressive, unimpressive in terms of volume. I would take a look at this game and recognize that again, we do have a panther's defense that does tilt stronger in terms of coverage to receivers, um, and pass catchers in general. So perhaps we just do a little bit of a, like, a, a, a, and I see a comment saying, you know, Caleb Lovelin or Caleb, Caleb missed him on his, uh, wide open target, his only wide open target. So yeah, I don't think we need to panic panic yet. This could be a good, by low opportunity, because this was very peculiar. And I just can't fathom that we are looking at Khalif Raymond as a leader for the roommate. Like this can't, this can't be. I, I completely agree with that. And I think, you know, um, like the Kyle Pits thing, we can at least make an excuse for Kyle Pits, right? Like you have, uh, the third string quarterback in here, because Penox wasn't able to go to a got hurt and practice. And even Cooper Rush wasn't 100% because he had back spasms the day before the gamer two days before the game. So I thought at some point they might go to strand, but, uh, you know, so Kyle Pits kind of has a built an excuse of working with Cooper Rush and, uh, Rush not getting a lot of first team reps up until like he got nothing in camp. I was listening to one of my dealers podcast before and they have a, uh, Falcon's beat writer on. And he was talking about how, yes, strand or, um, uh, Rush basically got no work with the first team before this week. So it was going to be rough this week, but I don't have a lot of excuses for Colston Lovelin, right? Just a bad game. I think we chalk it up to that and we move forward. I would buy low, just like you said, um, a lot of other guys here getting, um, you know, the panic meter. Let's just talk about a couple of offenses overall. Cleveland's offense and Tennessee's offense. They looked pathetic. It's so bad. I mean, Cleveland scored late on that Denzel Boston bomb. Yeah. Uh, Tennessee, man, I, I thought Cam Ward was going to be a thing. Maybe this year, he looked miserable in the preseason and he transferred all that into week one and they got smoked by the Jets. Now the Jets had a nice scoring week one last year, too. They had over 30 points and then disappeared. You know, uh, it's week one for everybody here, but what are your thoughts on the players you're rostering on Cleveland and Tennessee? Cleveland, I am surprised that then I get it. Why, um, they let Dishon play the entire game. It's not fair to say, hey, second half go out here and whatever, right? But I, I find it hard to believe. Maybe they give him one more shot because Jacksonville is a legitimately tough defense that does not get enough credit. But at the end of the day, I don't see Dishon long. I don't know if that deep ball can save them. Um, congrats. Yeah, Denzel Boston and I'll love you. Um, I like Denzel Boston and Casey Concepcion in this offense. Shoulder or, uh, Dishon does seem to have a preference for Jerry Judy. I get it. They're buddies clearly. He has a preference for them. Judy has a preference for him. My hope is that we still invest in specifically Casey Concepcion and Denzel Boston from a peer talent perspective. And hope that that pushes forward once we get the transition to Schitter Sanders who can more consistently put like he's not perfect, right? It's not going to be this transition to a wonderful offense. But he is more beneficial for the receivers pushing the ball downfield. And I think we'll see more consistency out of him. So we may not get it next week, but I find it hard to believe that Dishon is long for this world. So let's, let's, let's, let's just not panic too much right now. So, um, Tennessee Ward, 19 to 32, 140 in a score, Pollard, one, Dale, five for 38, Pollard, it's seven carries for 35 yards and a catch for a negative one. I mean, it was all bad in Tennessee. So if we're like a five on Cleveland overall, because we think there's going to be a quarterback switch there, where we had an on Tennessee one through 10. We're going to like, we're like, we're like, we're like a eight. Yeah. Yeah, I hope you say like, don't go too high, but it can't be lower than a seven. Yeah. My hope was that what we saw, I mean, the preseason was very clear. And my hope was that one that we would have some kind of game plan to help ease camorita and get him more on rhythm and is a new offense. So maybe he's struggling to learn. Perhaps that's it. But I find it very hard to trust anyone in that offense. We knew that there was going to be this split of Pollard in spears, but we our hope was, you know, okay, they moved the ball a little bit more better than they did last year. Pollard did have some upside and easier matchups, goal line priority. So, okay, maybe he's workable as a flex option. But looking at that receiving core, I've got some concerns and those concerns are not oddly enough. Don't remotely involve Calvin Ridley. Thank goodness for that. A lot of Ella Calier Maynard. We saw a little bit of Chamory DK. We know that Wandoell Robinson is there getting peppered with useless targets. And then we've got carnaltate. And it's just, it feels like this could be a wee bit messy. Like if I was like, because I, from a betting perspective, I had talked about like, okay, carnaltate could get rookie of the year from the perspective of having the same path as Tedero and McMillan. But you don't have that same path if we have all that usage from all these other receivers. And you still have a quarterback that is not pushing aggressive volume. Unlike a Tedero McMillan where it's just him and Jalen Coker. So, it's okay if the volume is a little bit bleak because it's a very narrow target funnel. Yeah, it was, those two offenses were just hard to watch, right? Like watching paint dry here. We've got a lot of comments about, uh, Jamar Chase, who had four targets, two catches and 12 yards. And Terri McLaren, who I didn't have it on my sheet because our, we started the show before that game ended, four targets, the same deal. Basically four targets, two catches for 14 yards. So, uh, Chase and McLaren, you know, I'm definitely not hitting the panic meter on Chase yet. They won, they won going away. The defense looked way better for Cincinnati. Chase is going to be fine in my opinion. So that's like a one or two to me. Uh, are you on, on board with that for Chase? Yeah. I, and, you know, he was dealing with that injury. So perhaps there were some levels of limitations there as well. I'm not panicking over what happened with Chase. What about Terri McLaren though? Because, I mean, I, it was a tough match up against a good Philly defense here. And we've heard about all the problems with, uh, Washington. They seem to start clicking a little bit in the second half. Yeah. But it was all going to digs it felt like an Antonio Williams had a couple of nice catches down the stretch there. So, uh, Terri McLaren just got locked up by Quentin Mitchell. That's basically what it was, right? Yeah. I think that's what it is. And the fact that we had a lot of that usage for Antonio Williams tells you who I do clearly love, um, tells you that we might, that might have just been a match up kind of situation. So because we didn't have any kind of preseason indication that Williams was making these aggressive moves towards being a consistent possibly leading the receivers. So now I think it was definitely more of a Philadelphia secondary matchup kind of situation. So, um, but it is a reminder that there are other bodies there. We did, do we have a little injury from Chig, I think at the end there, but there are other bodies. I think we might have, but there are other bodies there with digs and Antonio Williams looking good. So, in terms of volume, it may not be that massive, massive upside that we were hoping for the return to what we saw during J and Daniel's rookie season with Terri. Uh, Ezra asked about, um, Devon H Ann, 11 for 36. He had five catches or five targets for catches 30 yards. Um, Malik Will's first start, um, you know, the Raiders did get to him five times eventually. Uh, I didn't have, I had IDP League with Max Cosby. I'm like, where is he? He hasn't shown up and then here he is in the second half at a huge second half. But, uh, yeah, not a great look for the dolphins, you know, new offense and new coaching staff and all that. Yeah. That felt like it didn't feel like a Malik issue. It didn't feel like an HN issue. It felt like an offensive line issue. So hopefully this is something that they can coach up and get working and functioning better, especially and maybe, hey, maybe Max Cosby, you know, was, uh, Raiders defense. Maybe it's, maybe it's back to a more competent level. Maybe, maybe the Rams reinvest after staying in my spare to the IR. Apparently he nixed a trade. Yeah. I came out the other day. Uh, Jonathan Brooks. Now, Jonathan Brooks, I understand, he's just a little limited coming in here anyway, but only four for 14. He did have one big catch for 48 yards, but only five touches in this game. Chuba had the two scores. Are we worrying about, uh, Jonathan Brooks on a scale of one to 10? Are we talking this up more to them, slow rolling him being questionable coming in? Uh, I think slightly slow roll, but again, he's not, he's not a startable RB2 right now. As long as Chuba Hubbard, you have to, for him to get to that level, he has to take the job and Chuba looked really good today. So I think he'll contribute, continue to contribute. Um, but at the end of the day, if you were planning on this being something you can trust, as a weekly starter, you might want to start looking elsewhere trying to make
moves, but don't bail out, don't panic. Yeah, I agree with that. Before we move on to questions from the chatter here, anybody else you, you are want to put, put the panic meter on or talk about? I mean, Drake London, but again, that was with the backup quarterback, Devonte Adams, but apparently a lack of sleep. We talked about Romeo and Todd's a little bit earlier. Rico was second fiddle to Jaylen Warren. Anybody else you're panicking about? Oh, you know, Marvin Harris in junior was low key interesting. The Kendrick, but the Kendrick board, you know, what? It took me back to like, oh, wait a second. I was a Kendrick born truth or back in New England. They did mess him over. Wait a second. That happened. And then I was like, wait a second. He did play with Jacobi for said, wait a second. Yeah, Marvin, man, and it doesn't matter. Like I've said, so many things about Marvin, I get it on both sides when he does good. I get people like see, we can't get rid of him when he does bad. It's like, I told you what I'm going to have a good year. So it's, you know, my opinions on Marvin are kind of down the middle, but he looked not good today. So I would say, would we lean, would we put that up five or would we go to like maybe a six? Oh, well, yeah. We'll tilt it up to a six. We might push it to a seven, because at the end of the day, it's always Trey McBride. And Jeremy, I love look good. So I mean, there's so many bodies. It doesn't have to be Marvin Harris in junior by any means. Oh, Lordy. All right. Well, we are going to answer your questions next before we do that. Is Marvin Harris in junior a drop right now from GMAC? No, I don't think we can. Because Jacobi Berset did exactly what I expected him. A little less. I said, you know, 40 attempts. But he was right under 37. So volume. But again, that was game script since they Molly walked the chargers there. So Jacobi Berset's throwing for volume. Don't drop yet. Not yet. Just hold on bench. But don't drop. Yeah. Bench and don't drop. I think is probably the best way to go here. I'm trying to scroll back and find some of these questions. If you all want to throw them up on the chat, we didn't mention him, but Teterol Macmillan. Are we worried about Teterol Macmillan being second fiddle to Jalen Coker? I kind of. I had Jalen Coker high in my week one rankings, Tara, because the slot coverage in Chicago was bad last year. I had Parker Washington high because the slot coverage in Cleveland was bad last year. And I was particularly high in those guys coming in or at least as high as the community was. And they had huge games. So the kind of what I expected. But Teteroa, you know, kind of held out and did fumble. Are we worried about Teteroa at all? Or is this just a week one eye roller? No, again, this was just it's him. And it's, you know, it's funny. Daring Waller had a touchdown call back. I was disappointed because I was like, well, I just want the lure of the Daring Waller touchdowns just live on forever. Very unusable production, but touchdown, touchdown, touchdown injury. No, I think that again, this from a peer pass catcher perspective, the volume is very funneled to those two guys. Now Jalen Coker popping up. I'm a big Jalen Coker. I, you know, qualified as one of the coke head fans. So I'm not surprised. It's a little more even than what people were willing to admit. So it's not a panic on Teteroa McMillan because he's still got plenty of upside. But you need to consider Jalen Coker being pushed up and getting a little bit closer. He's our our guy D bro in the chat. Jalen Coker is all over here. There we go. Of course, of course. Now, a couple of people asking about Devonte Smith. Devonte Smith, not the greatest day in the world here. What was it? It was six targets, three catches, 53 yards. You know, not the worst day ever, but not what we expected. We expected, okay, AJ Brown's out. This guy is going to get littered with targets. Didn't happen in week one. Are we worried about Devonte Smith at all? No, it's a continuation of what we saw last season. I don't think that we should have expected that AJ Brown exit to mean that suddenly there's going to be weekly top five upside for Devonte Smith. This is the Eagles offense. They're going to try to lean back on Sequan Barkley. I'm not surprised. We got, you know, some pop there from Don Tavian Wicks. We knew that Dallas Gotter was going to be a president. So there are still bodies and Jalen Hertz is still going to do Jalen Hertz things, lean on the ground game, lean on his legs, spread the ball around. So yeah, I'm not surprised, but I wouldn't panic over this. Craig B asked is Judkins a bench right now? He mildly pulled it out in terms of somewhat redeeming ish himself. Yeah, he is a push down into flex territory. If you've got something else, if you have another workable body that's in an offense that will not be trailing, yes. Yes. MJ asked, is this game from shock an outlier or do you think we can expect this type of production going forward? And are we worried about HN usage? I am worried about Travis HN. Yes, 100%. That was that made no logical sense. The uptick and check downs was kind of crazy. So it did get at least salvage from that perspective, but the split on the ground was highly, highly concerning. I don't think this is an outlight. Well, this was the volume. Now again, we got to remember they were chasing points. They're catch up. They got there. And the Detroit secondary can be vulnerable as well. So I don't think every week will like this, but garbage times, second half, comebacks, I would not be shocked if we continue to see things be shaky, pick up, eventually get there from a pure volume perspective, just based off the fact that he is throwing to some, we saw Daman Veile step up. We know Chris Olave is amazing. Daman Johnson came through. So it's, you know, despite losing during Tyson, they're still a solid group. The rookies show decently. Well, as well. So yeah, and it's a Kellen Moore offense that pushes aggressive volume continuously. And that's the key there. Kellen Moore is going to ensure that we are consistently seeing 30 plus targets from Tyler Schuck. So you don't have to worry on that. And let's see. We got one here. WaverWire rank between Dibo, Vela Boston and Caleb Douglas. Good question. Yeah. It is Dibo for me. Because of, you know, Stribbling, injury, I think again, it'll be those three and Kittle, Mike Evans and Dibo that are going to be the three solid. So I would prioritize Dibo if he's there. Then Veile, Douglas and then Boston. I could flip Douglas and Boston, but I do still need to see that quarterback change, honestly. Yeah. I mean, Douglas was pepper with Targett. He was like that part. Thoughts on gang well. I don't know that I have gang well anywhere. Did I see what he did? It was a little mediocre to be honest. Let me see. I mean, they were losing the whole time, right? Yeah. Well, five for 15, one target, one catch three yards. So not a lot of usage there for Kenny Gainwell. Yeah. It was a nice day for Bucky Irving, but it was never Gainwell that was the worry of Sean Tucker at the goal line. So him being out definitely eliminated from that from being a concern, but because between Bucky and Gainwell, you know, it was going to be Bucky at the goal line more than likely. So I'm not surprised on that end, but it kind of solidified that Gainwell is not going to get enough production to maybe he has enough to creep in on Bucky and make Bucky a little irritating, but not enough to be standalone value, maybe. Seeing Nelson says it was crazy, but I will still ask, could Klee Freeman be a thorn in the side of the Bears top weapons? He had eight for 84 on nine targets. K, it was seem to be looking for him a lot, especially near the line. What are your thoughts on Klee Freeman, maybe as a useful player for the Bears moving forward here? I wouldn't dismiss it for the fact that we did have to overcome Alameda Zagia's laughing. So it's, I mean, this is not a, this is not a random anomaly. So it's entirely possible that this is one of those things. Am I rushing to the waiver wire to grab Klee Freeman and Raymond and our, you know, your typical league? Probably not, but he could be a thorn in the side is the perfect warning, a perfect phrasing of it. Thorn in the side of those top weapons. And, and Metal James asked Koker overburden. Think about it. Yeah. I think that's for me. I think you're just auto on Koker overburden, right? Oh, yeah. Love it. 100%. I'm going to say matchup based
right now, but um, that coca look great this week. There's no doubt about it. Uh, she's killing me on the week. Uh, thoughts on the bangles defense from Messer Grimm. It looked good. Dexter Lawrence changes the entire outlook of your defense. But not just that night tackled well, Barrett Carter played well. I thought the secondary was pretty good for most of the time. And I mean, they bumped Baker Matthew a ton, right? Mm-hmm. And I was surprised because they were, you know, dealing with injuries. So I thought they might be, um, you know, because I thought we'd see a positive progression. But then the injuries came and I'm like, oh, maybe we'll see a little bit shakier this week. But no, it looks like maybe, maybe they finally made the right moves to actually they had Baker and Fitz. Yeah. Um, and then the last one will do because Sunday night football is about to start from Ben going forward in a non-PPR TD heavy league. Would you rather start to Juan Johnson over pits going forward until things change? Yes, I would. Um, um, yeah. I mean, the first half of the Saints looked so pathetic, right? Like they just looked so bad. Uh, but that's second half. They were really, really good. So, uh, yeah, Juan Johnson now that shook has his confidence in his there and had them in that game. And I mean, they really had a chance to win it at the end. But, uh, yeah, I think I agree with you until we know what the quarterback situation is in Atlanta, you know, at least get back to two, right? Like two is tied in friendly. So at the very least, if we can get back to two, I then I can say, okay, but it did sit Cooper rush was super check down. And maybe a, maybe a week of practice can get him on track is what you were saying limited usage. So maybe all he could do was check down.
