what's up guys we'll back to views we are back with another episode incredible jesus guys Ray bands on yeah you guys will be getting this on my private channel we are going we are back from Africa we're not going back we just arrived we just landed an hour ago so feel like you hadn't left no honestly it feels like it was all just a dream like it wasn't real yes now that we're here it's like it wasn't real yeah isn't that funny how that's how kind of how memories work it just goes into like this memory bank yeah but there's something about this trip that just feels really like it never happened this trip was insane really the most the happened I don't even not explain it like in in saying good or in saying bad really good great but I don't even think that's what I'm saying insane yeah I'm not even using the word insane to describe like how good the trip was I'm just saying like the length of it was like I guess for the podcast listeners it's like we weren't really even gone yeah but like it feels like we were gone for like three months it feels like we were god David was saying we landed back at aliax he was like it feels like we just did the seven wonders all over again yeah no yeah it feels and seven wonders are a month and a half of travel but like that's what South Africa did to us you're there seven days no five oh five yeah it was just a lot happened it's a lot we shot a lot too yeah so like like we went with beyond they have a terrible they have 1.3 terabytes of footage and it's just their camera well and if you know what a terabyte is it's fucking no joke so we were shooting a lot there's a lot that happened every day like we are doing like four to five activities a day there was like three or four we landed lights I guess we should break it down right like what happened sure this is a podcast yeah so we landed we landed at like night time in South Africa originally we were supposed to go to Kenya that was a big trip they bowl our break causes to pivot to South Africa we landed we got to this like sanctuary basically where they take care of like I don't know what you call like animals that have been in like they either got injured in the wild or maybe they lost their mom so they brought the babies in to rehabilitate and then rewild them things like that they like are taking care of all a variety of animals at this sanctuary so immediately we go and we play we go get to meet these baby lions great like real fucking and like they're pretty good size they weren't like baby they were not like cops they're like they're almost teenagers yeah probably like in human years like he was saying like there's probably like one more week here before you can't really interact with them anymore because they're too too much great yeah like even the people that were petting them they were like biting at their fingers and their fingers were bleeding Natalie's shirt got ripped apart and my pants got ripped apart really yeah because they were playing but like they're bite is strong because they are lions yeah which is really funny because we came back we got like our outfits washed and we both came back today wearing our original outfits that we went in with and Natalie's has a hole in it I have a hole in it and both from lines in South Africa let it be started in it so we did the first night and then we stayed in this like colonial house okay that was like on the reserve they were calling it the farmhouse I was like kind of looking forward to it I was like it was gonna be cute yeah South African farmhouse or something no no no it's a prison it's a reformed prison it was a colonial prison oh it was an actual prison it was an actual prison like to get our rooms you had to there's like a double bolted thing and there's like a little hole in the hole in the thing in the door in the door for prisoners to get food meal yeah yeah yeah so but no prisoners are there now we don't know there was another one that fucking was still there was a lot no there's not there's not no it's not but like okay god knows what's down there cats are beds I don't know it wasn't it wasn't a cop but it definitely wasn't a bed you know spiders the whole thing very very like this is what I was scared this trip was gonna be was there anyone on the trip that like was that paid for the trip or was it just you got you and the beyond guys regular people on the trip to all the beyond people pay for the trip all the beyond they're paying oh so there's like regular people paying yes I don't know how the beyond thing works yeah you pay so you pay 15,000 a month unless our year to be like to have access to the trips yeah and then when a trip happens let's say it's like hey we're going to Kenya then he'll have rooms he'll be like the master bedroom is gonna cost you 25 this bedroom is gonna cost you 20,000 this will cost so like and then the members that are already paying have to pay an additional fee for that trip I see but it's a fucking incredible deal yeah I know it sounds like a lot but like what what happened in the last week is pretty fucking mind blowing in terms of just like yeah trips I saw some of this stuff it looked incredible it's it was talking with lions alone is crazy it's very confusing yeah so we slept and then the next day where do we go I don't I don't know the next day we walked with the lions yeah so it's these three lions that like and also like this isn't like we're not in Dubai you know like these aren't like drugged up animals yeah these are wild animals that like they've rehabilitated because they were injured or something happened to them so like these these things are a real fucking deal which is it's just even crazier yeah we scared originally when that like there's they do this like lion walk where they have to they have to walk the lions because they're lions and then you don't walk around and like there's a moment where they come out the lions come out of their cage and they're all all three of them are just looking at you from a distance so it's like great because it's the first time you're seeing them and you're seeing them look at you like with their big mane and everything what are the people saying like you're okay it's gonna be okay oh yeah Zane was losing his mind yeah and I couldn't tell when Zane was like hamming it up for the camera or like but I think he was actually he was like really fucking terrified I would have been so scared I mean he was a big pussy yeah I mean it's pretty terrifying yeah but like it's kind of funny I would have been worse so that's okay he was a pussy yeah but Zane has nothing to lose like it's not like his family like I get why I get like when you freak out because you're thinking of the people but like he's got he's got he what would he do and great we did do like nine we also everywhere we traveled to was via helicopter yeah nice so not nice it's kind of scary give it all yeah it was like yeah a total like eight helicopter rides oh my god for like 30 40 minutes long yeah just across Africa and like that's that's interesting I'm like you I would be like oh god and some had no doors testing fate again okay and there's one there is one moment where we were doing helicopter paintball yeah so that work so it was three people on an ATV are just riding around the Africans Sahara Savannah who's on ATV safari just whoever wants to be over us be sure friends that you we took turns so yeah like I was on the ATV once and like I started in the helicopter person and I had this like really bad feeling with the helicopter I was like I think I'm gonna die on like on this ride for some reason yeah I was like because I was just like this guy's just fucking going like balls to the wall in this helicopter the pilot had no shoes on he was actually made me feel comfortable because I was like okay this guy knows he's so confident he doesn't even eat you he's so confident yeah he's walking through the fucking Savannah like stepping on everything with his rough ass feet so I think it like maybe feel kind of better but yeah so then we get in the helicopter I'm posting this on all my on my close friends right like so that my close friends popping off this week but you're in this helicopter and there's three people in an ATV on ATVs in like these orange jumpsuit with targets on their back okay while I'm in the helicopter and this guy is going like fucking like seal team six close to these people and like boom boom boom you shoot the first guy on the ATV and then he backs up a little bit and then it got so bad because I was shooting these people so many times that the people ran off their ATVs and they were trying to hide in the trees and this guy would just take the helicopter and circle the tree and like really close like within like 20 feet of the tree oh my god like really really close there would be points where because I was on the ground just kind of watching this all happened from a distance but you would the helicopter was so low to the ground you would lose it in the tree line like it was in the trees that's how low like if you're on the ground at some points you could jump and touch this helicopter it was like really really fucking close you think they would improve that game a little bit make it a little more I mean it yeah well you can't shoot it you're not a lot of shit with helicopter so that's the rule oh yeah wait it's just target practice yeah you're just unloading on people below but like you all take your turns right I see but you get shot like 15 times yeah like you have 15 welds on your back or on your leg or on your ass hurt yeah yeah it actually does hurt which is surprising because but you're so close because the helicopter pilot so good like originally I thought like how bad can hurt and then I was the first one to be in the helicopter and I was like oh my god I'm right on the ass of these guys on the ATV like I could not be closer so incredible driver forward backwards side to side swirly whirlies like well swirly whirlies yeah and then there was another time then we went to go see baby rhino is that like a sanctuary I saw that which is funny because I was like probably like the most tame part of the trip is seeing the baby rhino I was like I even forget that we did that just grab a baby rhino the fucking weird looking like just weird like they're like dinosaurs but it was crazy because this was a facility that was rehabilitating all these rhinos that like there's a there's a rhinos in Africa poached a day like for for its tusk so it's like this facility was off the map like, no one, like, poachers didn't know where it was. Like, even when they were like, if you're using any of this footage, you have to AI, whatever's in the background or you have to change. Like, no one, even their website doesn't say where they're located. 'Cause if poachers found out, they would come into their like 400 acres of land or whatever they own and they'd kill the rhinos. So like, it's a top secret facility where they're like, like, yeah. Basically, raising these rhinos back to health and some of these rhinos have gunshot wounds. Like, that have like been targeted by poachers, kind of fucking crazy. Like, a couple days before we came in, they had rescue. There was a mother and baby rhino out in the wild. The mother had been shot, the task had been cut off. She's dead. They shot the baby rhino as well, but just left it there alive, but shot. So they rescued the baby rhino. We got to see it being, it was hooked up to an IV, like, shaking, like, quivering. They were, it was like, on the brink of, it was the most sad and upsetting thing I've ever witnessed. They looked like animatronic from, like, universal studios. 'Cause it was, like, hooked up to things. So sad. So it couldn't really move, but it still moved its head around. So it looked like I'm like, rhino's such a weird animal and you're looking at it, like, close, 'cause you're like, what the fuck is this? It's a dinosaur. Yeah. And yeah, it looked like it was fake. But yeah, very sad. But yeah, very sad. I think he was doing good. Yeah. He was doing better, at least when we were there, that he had been like. There were turtle, there were turtles. There were turtles. We had turtles here. Yeah, there were turtles. Focus on the fucking rhinos. It's also, it's called rhino connect if you want to, like, look it up and donate, too, just for anybody that's interested. Yeah. Don't look it up. You can look it up just, you won't find where they are. Just don't tell anyone. Um, okay. And then what do we do? Shit. Well, you know. Oh, and then we've got to go meet the cheetahs. Yes. That's it. It's really fucking sick. Oh my god. And cheetahs are really cool, 'cause I've learned a fun fact. I actually said this on the podcast before, I was like, cheetahs, maybe I haven't. But cheetahs have never killed anybody out in the wild. They're like big cats. They've only killed people in captivity. Yeah. So we got to meet a cheetah. I got to, like, lay down with one and cuddle it like a big, big cheetah, huge cheetah. Full grown, yeah. Full grown. And it was, like, licking me and its tongue. It. This is gonna sound crazy. But. I just. You don't think I should say this? I don't think so. The way the David described this, I was, like, a little disturbed afterwards. Like, oh. Okay. I see. A cheetah licking you on the hand is the same sensation of. All right, fine. I won't say it. I'm getting, you know what? Got it. Because its tongue is so. Got it. I don't think that's so bad. Its tongue is so coarse. I'm saying, like, the face is you're making because it's genuinely, like, stimulation overload. Like, it's. I've never felt a sensation. It's rough. So rough. It's, like, sandpaper. Yeah. But it's wet. So it's, like, you're. It took me, like. It took me, like, I don't know, 15 licks to get used to it. I could not believe what I. I've never felt like anything like it in my life. Yeah. You had a little moment with the cheetah. No. And I'm allergic to cats. A big moment with the cheetah. I'm allergic to cats. So I'd hives all over my arm afterwards. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah. So we did that. And then we got to beat the baby cheetahs. Baby cheetahs, I don't really fuck with them. Kind of dicks. We remind you of cats. Well, I've thrown with the baby cheetahs. You would think that would be great. No, they're really cute, but they're really feisty. They bite, bite, bite, bite, bite. Yeah. But the big cheetah, like, knew it. It was just kind of chill. And love looking, love vibing, love hanging out, took selfies with me. It was really cool. And again, we followed each other on Instagram. Yeah. Again, these aren't like, this is like, I'm really excited to post my dump, but like, I'm nervous that people are going to be like, we're like, I can't believe we interacted with these wild animals. That weren't like, this is the only place in Africa to where they have licenses to do some of this stuff. Like, you can't walk behind lines anywhere else in the entire world. Unless you're like, in a fucking country that like, drags up these like wild animals. These aren't like, these are like, actually like, really place you can do it. Yeah. Wow. So, yeah, no, that was really exciting. Did you stargaze? Oh, my God. Yeah. But the fucking telescope was not broken. They just wouldn't let us go to the telescope or something. This is what pissed me off. You said you were most excited about Stargazing, one of the fuck guests. Yes, it was incredible. We saw, you see the whole Milky Way in Africa because it's just incredible. And then the problem was the guy came that like talks about the stars. Yeah. And gave us this like, we're like on the roof. It's like, we're all drinking. Comes around 10 p.m. And then it brings us up to the roof to like, talk about the stars. At the prison? No, this is like a completely new villa. Okay. Like, very beautiful place. We're looking at the stars. We're all a little bit tipsy. Yeah. So now we're like kind of dizzy listening to this guy. And he like walks us through all the stars. And then at the end, obviously someone asked like, do you think aliens are real? And like, do you think like, we're alone blah blah blah. And he says, I think we're the only form of life out here, like in the universe. And it just, I went to bed right away. I was so mad. I was so mad because he like, his whole point was he was talking about how he was like, he was trying to make us feel small in the universe. By being like, this is 100 light years away. This is a hundred thousand light years away. And this is, this is how many galaxies there are blah blah blah. And then at the end to follow it up with, he thinks we're alone in the universe. Yeah. Was like the biggest fucking bus. I went to, I just genuinely went to bed because I was so. Well, why didn't you challenge him? Because he was, I think he was very religious. He was much smarter than me. And he was so intelligent. And I didn't have any, I had no vocabulary. But I would think you would have stepped in there with a couple of wines in you. But I think that's like a religious thing. Oh. Okay. I don't want to like. Yeah, you don't want to go on that. I don't want to go down that route. Yeah. Road. Route. Yeah. Route. Shroud. Okay. What'd you do at night? Sleep. We tired. We were up like six in the morning. There was no, like showering was very. No showers. No showers, but no hot water. So the nicest place we stayed at. I didn't even have a shower. I just had the bathtub. And gay. So I was like on my knees in the bathtub. Like a, like a little like. Showering himself. Child. Like a little mermaid. Like fucking, like a, like a chicken, like a hot movie. Why didn't you just make yourself a hot bath and sit? Well, because I was covered in dirt. Like from being out. Like I was, I was, would be literally sitting in mud. All the more reason to make a hot bath. No, but like I was showing on my knees and like my art, my back was arched. I looked like, like if someone walked in on me, I'd have to shoot them dead. Like that's how, that's how embarrassing, like my position wasn't it. But I actually started to like, like bathing. It was kind of fun. I had a whole process to it. Anyway, then there was this other day. How's the food? I just ate bread and butter. Yeah, David didn't really eat much. It depends on where we were at. Like the first nights and the last nights were pretty like into the African cuisine. Okay. There were some other poche pens. Like every place was very different. There were a little bit more Americanized where you could have like some nice chicken and some rice. Other places it was like, I don't know what the fuck is on that bone that you're trying to have me eat. But this is like a trip that like I recommend to everybody. Yeah. Like you just like scan our film or who doesn't say much. We were just driving back. Yeah. From the airport and John asked him, John goes, how is the trip? He goes a 10. A 10 out of 10. Really? He said that. Yeah, he's like the best trip ever. Yeah, he told me he was great. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It sounds like something like a once in a lifetime experience. I mean, yeah, you'll just, you can, you cannot ever anywhere else replicate. It's also so nice because it truly is once like, I don't want to go back. But like, I think it's weird that he doesn't want to go back. But it's because it's just, it's, I feel like we've been gone for years. We were there and every day was like, I don't know, eight days long. But it's such an incredible experience. Like I loved, like obviously we had been there already and done the safari stuff before. I've seen a fucking wild zebra and the animals and stuff. But like getting to do it with Zane and Georgia and other people like for them to like, it's just some, it's so cool to share that experience with other people. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not really like that. But yeah, that's the problem. Yes, you are. If we were, if we were like that. Yes, okay. I guess if I got to take John Alex and Mike. Yes. Exactly. Are you kidding? Okay. And maybe we don't stay in the tense next time, but we stay at it somewhere else where you're more comfortable. But I am, well, I'm usually like a one and done for fun things. And no matter how much I love it, like that's not knocking on the thing. Cause I genuinely think this trip was, one day you'll go back with your wife or something. Yeah, yeah. This trip like exceeded my expectations. It's awesome. Like 10 fold, which is crazy. And then one day we went to go, we went to, oh, also flipped a can, a can am thing. What are they called? A buggy. A buggy with Natalie. We were driving, flipped it on the side on accident. They came together. We were like two, we were two minutes into the, no, but there's like a cage over it. Or two minutes into the fucking like ATVs. Who's driving? Me. Steven. And you're in passenger. Yeah. And I'm passenger. I'm vlogging. Like, la la la la la. This is so fun. And the guy was like, tell me how to drive. I'm like, don't worry. I hate going fast. Cause I fucking hate going fast in the desert. Cause I hate when smoke blows up in my face. The dust. Yeah. The dust. So it's like, I'm not going to go fast. And then Natalie started throwing up gang signs out for her vlog. And then I started to feel like a pussy. So I was like, okay, wait. I didn't know we were taking the gang sign approach to whatever this had it is. So I kind of put the pedal to the metal. And I flipped it right away and yeah, we took like the first turn and the wheel just got caught right in the sand and just is it dunes? It's like sandy dirt. And then the woman who like came who's right behind us in the safari car in the safari car like came to like rescue us or whatever. She was like laughing. She's a good sport about it. And the other instructor was like, about three minutes away. So the woman's like, go and lay down, pretend you guys are like really injured. So fucked up. So and we're like, okay. So we went lay down and like two of the girls are giving Natalie like CPR as the guys walking up on us. And I felt like I couldn't even do it. I just stood up right away. I'm like, I'm so sorry we can't do this to you. And then he was like, he went for a walk because he was so fucking nervous and the woman was like, I gotcha. I fucking pray. Yeah, like I hope you guys know each other because that was a really married there like husband and wife But they are yeah, yeah, oh Then I would have fucking sat on that floor for a longer. I didn't know they knew each other Crunch on Natalie when you flipped crunch. No, we're in our seatbelts like he was like hanging above me No, I was hanging really the seatbelt like kept me in place. Yeah, it was a very soft landing. You have a video Bear I mean, I didn't film it very well No, okay, like already Natalie was filming the whole time so you could hear the sounds. Yeah, but already when we were before we started to flip It was getting a little weird. Yeah, so the camera already like kind of she like lost that side of us Yeah, like the flip like the flip was like almost slummo it like happened for so long that I had already brought the camera to my Chast before we actually like fell, you know, yeah, and then I like one of our final days. We went to Botswana Natalie lost her passport. This is all gonna be in the vlog by the way Yeah, so I don't know how long this vlog is gonna be forever at it. It's gonna take forever at it In Botswana Natalie left her passport in South Africa. We took we took a like a small plane Just our group from South Africa to Botswana and I don't even know how it's possible because I never put myself I didn't even put my stuff down in the airport there But we boarded the plane. I land in Botswana. Someone comes up to me. They're like, are you Natalie and I'm here? And I was like, yeah, you're like, oh your passport was left at the airport in South Africa. So they wouldn't let her enter Botswana and they wouldn't let her leave Botswana. Yeah So there's like a terminal situation like the movie. Yeah, so they in this airport is tiny. There's one there's one gate There's one baggage claim. There's three people fucking working like it's a little place. Yeah It was this is the number one priority of the entire airport because obviously it was nothing like we were the only people that landed that day Yeah, so there's nothing going on there. It was really really funny. Everyone was really nice Which you would think they would be more lax about it like, you know I'm obviously not like some hostile fugitive. It's trying to like flee So they then they put us then they put us up in a hotel Which was incredible while the rest of the group went to the campsite ahead And we got really lucky because the hotel was like a five star hotel in Botswana And the campsite they were at which was still incredible. They were sleeping outside in tents and it was a You were thrilled that now I forgot her passport 100% everyone was thanking me and it was Botswana's coldest recorded day That year that they that they had to be out in the tents while we were in hotels Georgia stay with you. Yeah. Yeah. Oh great break. Yeah I'm like Botswani and kids outside and I was like running through all the celebrities to see who they knew they didn't know mr. Beast Yeah, they didn't know Justin Bieber the only person they knew they were these kids were like nine or ten years old They knew Michael Jackson, which is fucking crazy because it's like I get that Michael Jackson is everywhere, but these kids are nine and ten yeah like global and then they knew Coco Mellon Which is so fucking weird. I didn't even bring up Coco Mellon. They were like Coco Mellon. I was like what? There was surprise we knew Coco Mellon And then how'd you get the passport? How'd you get out of there? We had to We had to pay I had to pay a girl to fly out and like from the travel coordinating company She like one of the people that worked there had to fly and then take a two hour Car ride to where we were in Botswana to give it to me and then I had to go back to the airport the next morning Get it stamped verified so that I could then go into the Delta into the Savannah with the rest of the group. Okay, and then the last day This is what we did, which is really cool. We went on like a safari like just a classic in the car And everyone was obsessed with going to see these wild dogs Which I get really confused when people have like Weird excitement about things like wild dogs like we just walked behind lions I had a cheetah like lick me to no extent. So I was like very confused on why we're going to find these wild dogs But we found a pack of 36 of them and Everybody was like creaming their pants like even our our tour guide was like really funny He was really excited. He's like you've never seen him this big. This is like the biggest pack I've ever seen and he's like a sixth generation Safari guy like he his family's been doing this forever and ever and he was like this is the biggest coolest thing Yeah, so we hung out with these wild dogs like in our car and all their puppies they had like 15 puppies of dogs and we just kind of hung out with them And it was really interesting. He was saying he's like we we have to make sure we don't stay with the puppies Because the wild dogs they trust humans so much that when they see a car hanging around the puppies They'll leave the puppies to you and they'll go and hunt because they'll just assume you're taking care of the puppies Like that's how much to trust the people. Wow So we so then we followed the dogs for like two hours until the dog started battling these like Wardhogs with the bees will the bees No, yeah, and then they were like hunting these will the bees and they had no luck there and then we followed The wild dogs went to go get a what Impala impala. Yeah, what's an Impala Impala is like a deer and then they and then they killed What I'm just checking it if you need my input on literally anything. I grab a mic But hurry don't sit on the don't sit sit on the ground Yeah, and then and then the wild dogs killed the Impala and then we're there. We're watching these what is an Impala it's like a deer It's a car. It's a Chevy Paul and then we're watching and then we're watching them tear apart this thing and our tour guides like The hyenas are gonna come soon because they're gonna they're gonna fight the wild dogs for the For the impala for the carcass for the meat whoa and then we see the fucking hyenas behind us. No, we're sitting right there We're right next to the wild dogs. Do they have a gun like within 10 feet. Oh wait, who is your guy? I have a gun in case nothing now the hyenas are behind us coming and then now the hyenas attack the wild dogs wild dogs Fuck off and now the hyenas are eating this impala. No, and then and then Natalie goes out to take a shit in the woods This is all documents, by the way, and then one of the girls screams and she goes leopard And then the leopard takes the Impala from the hyena and brings up to a tree and now the leopards eating the hyenas And then Paul and finishes it off. It was fucking crazy and our tour guides like never in never in my life I have seen something like this. Wow. It was really a fun way way back up Natalie went and took a shit I did not take a shit. I had to do the toilet paper. So I don't know what she was doing But that was while the blood girls in the tree hunting. Yeah, so Nat's out peeing in the bush while she just coming Yeah, like we drove a little over. She's about a hundred yards away from the leopard A hundred feet, not a hundred yards. Sorry. A hundred feet. Why did you jump out at that point? Because I didn't know we were going on a four hour like wild dog chased through safari So all the boys are peeing out of the safari car through the whole like several hours. They gave up It's bad boring. You said And then I never got to go to the bathroom We had been out there for probably like four to six hours at this point. I'll see you guys I'm going to pee my pants in the back of this safari car. Oh my god I would like I'm I will just I'll just hang off the car like I don't care as long as no one's looking at me and making fun of me Right. I'll pee wherever I see It's gonna make it look like I took a shit in the woods and so right anybody the one's the vlog I did not take shit and the vlog. It will be shit. You guys should all come and oh my god Can't please you took a shit. Don't do that to me. I don't like it Yeah, so I don't know the vlog will be out. It'll be a long time. I give it a month Yeah, probably I've had a month. We have another vlog that's coming on a couple days But we have to have a credible experience. Yeah, really cool. I highly recommend it. I really recommend it Zane had a good time. It's so interesting. Yeah, it's like nobody knows the two sides of Zane, right? Like everyone just knows like the easy going Zane Yeah, but there's also like the stressed out Zane. They're like nobody knows Nobody knows and like it's really funny when the other side of him activates when you're on a trip And yeah, he was in like really really good spirits I think people know his that other side from the podcast. Let me say this I've really been into the fact about like of having a prime. I think it's kind of exciting. Hmm like you know like 2016 was our prime Oh, I thought you made like an energy drink 2019. Sorry. I don't know. But like I Yeah, and Logan Paul's energy drinks But like you know that's kind of exciting. I used to be like weird about it because like during 2019. Why are you smiling? I have this exact thought on the flight home today. Really? Yeah, I was just thinking about Well, I was thinking about I was talking to like somebody that we work with or whatever and I was explaining something I don't know and it's funny one of the nights in South Africa. I was explaining to Georgia That we had a prime I was like, you know, she was she was saying that when she goes home and like her friends me from home Like see her in a vlog or in something whatever they get really excited And she was never like a consumer of the vlogs or whatever, you know, she knew that David existed But it wasn't like a avid fan and so I was explaining to her like How crazy it was like how like you know, we didn't realize at the time, you know But if you look back at old videos like the the viewership and just the things that we were doing and the nonsense Topgo go go like it was just like so crazy and even to think it's back. It's also for all of That culture of YouTube, right? Like it's like the Jake Paul's the Logan Paul like everybody at that time, like YouTube was just dominating. That was just like the big, like, it was just like a completely different, like different culture was happening at that time. Sorry, keep going. - Well, and I was thinking like, I never, I never really think about that. Obviously I know that that time was entirely different than the time that we're in right now. I'm aware of that, but I am so in it here that I don't really, I never really comprehended that there was like a prime. I'm like, it's so excited talking about it. - I think it's so interesting. I'm like, oh, it's like looking back at like a child star and being like, oh yeah, remember when that happened or remember when like that show was on or something. I don't know, it's like that. - You're going so fast, you can't really take it all in. - But it's weird because that was our life. And to think that that there was a peak of that that had happened five years ago, it's kind of crazy. - Give it a like, make sense. - I go back and watch like, I see like an old Scotty video that I was in and I'm like, oh, that is 10 million views. - Oh yeah, what? I never watched this. - Yeah, that's crazy. - Scot posted it was like, he was titled like, David's vlog, but through a window. - Yeah. (laughing) - You know, I crashed for him. I think he's just vlogging me, vlog through a window. (laughing) That was the funniest when he would just do like, when Scot would just film the stupidest shit. - So funny. - And I was just fucking obliterate. - Yeah, no, that was a different. But I could just get excited. Like, I used to be so scared of it 'cause I was like, like when you're in it, you're just like, oh, I don't want this to stop and out. But then like, now looking back at it, it's like so cool that that even happened. - So cool. - You know, like what an honor it is to like have that moment. I always used to think about Post Malone. When I used to think of primes, for some reason my head always goes to Post Malone. 'Cause like, I feel like Post Malone, I don't know, I must have seen like a TikTok of someone talking about his prime. But like, he, yeah, like he had his, you know what I mean? Like I feel like a lot of artists have that. - Yeah. - I mean, well every entertainer has that. - Every artist has, yeah. - Yeah, every artist has it. But like, there's something so exciting about it. Like that was the era of this. That was the era of this. And it's like so cool that we got to be part of like, some YouTuber vlogging era with like eight other vloggers. I think that's like really fucking sick. - Yeah, it's what I'll say is the height of my professional life. - Really? - For sure. - It's so crazy, it's like so crazy to think about. - For sure. Well, I hope it's not the height of mine. But, ah. (laughing) - Whoa, you know, and now it's like, well, what do you do? You know, you keep trying. - But that's why it's exciting. 'Cause it's like, 'cause it feels like, I think everything goes in waves, right? - Yeah. - And like, now it feels like I have to find something new. - Yeah. - And that's kind of exciting. 'Cause it's like, I don't know what it is. And I remember like in high school I always say like, I have no idea what I'm gonna do for a living 'cause I don't think it exists yet. And like, I think that's where I'm at again. It's like, I don't know what I'm gonna do at like that level. And I'm like, so excited to figure out what that is. 'Cause it just doesn't exist yet. - To make that climb up again. - Yeah, it's like fun. And then when you're there, it's like really fun. And then you're like, oh, this is gonna be good. - I wish I'd managed it better. - Like when it was happening. - Well, yeah, I kept my money. But also like diversified better. - Yeah, but it was kind of impossible. - Yeah. Like, I remember people would call me to do stuff. And I'd be like, oh, I can't. I'm doing this. - No, it was really fun. - Even like, even like, people would be. - It's like, I had something, there's this old, there was this guy I used to listen to this radio show. And he was a sidekick on the radio show. And he made so much money. It was Howard Stern sidekick. And he asked for more money. And he's like, and he like wanted to leave and stuff. And so he left. And then he regretted it. And I always stuck with me. So it was like just having something that was working was so like, oh my God, I have to keep this. - But it's. - Because it's working. It's finally something's working. - But it was impossible because we were so focused on. In order, like, people will look back at it. Or like, I'll even look back at it. But like, I should have made like, so much more money. - Yes. - But like, that wasn't really the priority. And that would have only worked if we had other people around us. Do you know what I mean? So it was very new where people weren't buying into it. - Yeah. - And I don't know. I stopped going three times a week. I stopped posting three times a week like, when I was 23 and a half or something. - Right. - Like, that was a long time. I was fucking young when we were vlogging. That was seven years ago when I stopped going three a week. So it's like, at the time, like I didn't, I wasn't fucking setting up businesses. And I didn't give a fuck. And even in hindsight, I wouldn't give a fuck. 'Cause it's like, we were having so much fun. So like, yeah, I wonder now if that moment happened. We'd probably be billionaires. - I mean. - Oh, yeah, if it happened a little bit later. - Yeah. - If you were born 10 years later. - But it wouldn't happen now. 'Cause like, that's why I could so excited about the pocket we were in. Because like, now it's the generation of TikTok. Now it's the generation of there are streaming. 30,000, like literally 30 to 100,000 creators now. And like, it's like, it's not even like a falling into a passion. Now it's like, I always say, now it's like, you can do it. You can like, literally just do it. You don't have to do it. You'd be like, yeah, sure. (laughing) Now they're like, I don't know. - Yeah. - Yeah. - No, my favorite is when I see like an edit of like, you had to be here and it's not even pictures of us. It's just pictures of every internet person that was making videos at like that, like 2019, like it'll be pictures of like Satellar Ranch or it'll be like, Stasi Baby, like whatever. Like it was, it truly was like such a crazy moment and Los Angeles as a place for like going out - Yeah. - Has not been this, and it's not because of that, but it's just a COVID and everything has not been the same. So like the whole thing, like top to bottom, from what we posted online to how we lived every day is like such a, it's such a cool time capsule of what happened there. And I'm like so happy that we got to document literally every single day of like my early 20s. - And then kind of strange than COVID came. - Yeah. - That's kind of really, really ominous to be like flying that high. And then it's like. - But I remember I was so excited. - Gung, gung, gung. - I wasn't excited. You were, I wasn't. - I wasn't excited about COVID 'cause the bad thing. - No, I know, but you were excited to stop. You needed to stop. - Yeah, I was like, think out, we can stop. - Yeah, but I didn't know that. I remember you said that to me. I was like, oh, fuck. - Oh, that I wanted to stop? - Yeah, you're like, I'm so glad I could stop. - Oh yeah, I remember the day. - I remember the day when we were sitting on my couch at a tear of you at the old house. And I was like, hey, this is getting pretty bad now. I could probably stop posting for like a week or two, right? And she goes, I think so. And I was like, yes. (laughing) And I was like, and then I remember I was like, I'm gonna make a TikTok a day. And we were posting the stupidest fucking TikToks. - So funny. - And TikTok was brand new at the time. So it was like, and that was like peak TikTok. That was when like your Addison Rays were born. And every TikTok of like the stupidest shit would get like 25 million views. That was a very, that was also a different time. I'm so excited to see what the next round of stars is gonna be. - I just finished a stand-up tour at that time. And I mean, the most man I've ever made my entire life so much that I was able to buy a house. - Really? - Yeah. And I remember I was like, COVID hit. And I was like, 'cause we were all set to do it again in January. And I was like, maybe it was February. I don't know. And then I was like, oh fuck, like, oh damn. - I can't do it. - Yeah, I remember when COVID hit too, there was like a January or something that was like one right before. And it was the most amount of brand deals I've ever gotten in one. I was like doing like Frank's Red Hot Sauce with Eli Manning or something. - Yeah. - There was a brand deal every single like three or four days. And we were all just shooting it out of my house. I was like, what the fuck is going on? It was so bizarre. That was like the peak of brand deals was right before COVID. - Do you believe that stuff like that happens for a reason? - COVID. - Whatever.
