♪ Good morning, girl, is it's the Tollos ♪ ♪ It's Jackson Claude and we're your hoes ♪ ♪ It's your favorite show, the fast five things you need to know ♪ ♪ We'll start your day off swirly, it's the Toast ♪ I sound amazing. Welcome back to the Toast and Happy Tuesday. Hope you guys are ready for a Nalafi. I'm just feeling like today's episode is going to be 90 minutes. Really? We have so many stories. Mm-hmm. As usual, we have to just chat about ourselves, of course, amongst ourselves. And then we also have your Toast. I don't know why I'm just feeling like I should get comfortable. I'm glad we have these new chairs. Oh, yeah. I feel like the stories are the stories. Is there like a lead story that you're excited to talk about? It feels like. It does feel like there is one story that I'm really excited to talk about. Okay. Well, I don't want to jump the gun. No, no, we would never. But of all the stories, don't you find that there's one that's got like a little special Gina Sikwa? I don't want to give anything away. Yeah, me neither. Because I hold them tight to the best. And just so I can know, like, and the people can know, like, what story do you think what number is the one that has, like, all the Gina Sikwa? I don't know. Probably latter half. So look, four or five. Three, four or five. Three, four or five. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Can you keep eating your pan? I can't. Just like chanting with the stars. Which airs tonight? This is not an ad, but I saw like all that. I actually felt better when I saw like all the markets, like the prediction markets. They're all saying Jackson's going home tonight. Because I don't know if you've seen like his big scandal. Yeah. He went for Guillermo. He was like making a comment. Yeah. And then Guillermo, like, finally responded, being like, I think he was joking. Like, trying to like get the fans to lay off of Jackson. Big mistake. But also, I think it's Jackson's time. You've been in addition to the Guillermo. He said that last week. Actually, it's time. It's not. You called me last week, like, with a big piece of, um, of information. Like, about us. I called you. Yeah. Last week. Last night. Sorry. Yes, of course. You were like, oh my god. Check your text. Oh, yeah. I was like, Jackie, did you hear? And she was like, what? We're going to see. Is it with the stars? I was like, no. It was something else, which I guess we'll talk about later. But then I said to you, like, I really hope I never get asked to do as much as I want to. You have to stop putting it out there. Like, I just need to put this out there so everybody knows like, really where I stand. I want to do dancing with the stars. I would love to do it. It would be a dream of mine. I hope I never get asked because I will be so conflicted because realistically, like, I can't do it. But I would love to do it. You with massing her. It was like being asked was the worst thing that ever happened. Like, because you have to do it, but you can't. No, but I can't. Of course. No, ask us in five years, like, when we're done rearing children and we are skinny. Like, we will do it then. Yeah. Literally see a dancing with the stars 2032. So I'm glad that last night I was not asked to join the next season of dancing with the stars. No, and the sort of like career milestone we did find out about last night. I want to say, like, is better than dancing with the stars. You think so. We can discuss, like, if we wind up talking about it later. It's like one of the latter half three four or five stories. How's your day going? How was we taking going? You know, it's going well. I would say. Yeah. Well, I mean, it's nine o'clock. So, like, nothing, nothing major. I didn't get to finish my show last night. I'm on like, I have half of the last episode left. I was supposed to be doing two and I eat, but then like, max you woke up. And so I still didn't finish my show. But the show was good. And I'm enjoying it. I'll be sad when it's over. I did something last night. Something crazy last night. Crack. Crazier. No. Literally crazier. I finally watched the voice. Because I've been, I've been like, voice curious about all the contestants. And, you know, I can't, it's not a season of the voice. If I don't watch and like, hate one of the judges, of course, last couple of seasons. It was Michael Bluebley. He never should have been on there. And, you know, who I hate. Riley Green. No. Queen Latifa. Could never. Like, I'm incapable. Who's the fourth? It's not Kelly. I know you don't know who. Adam Levine, of course. Oh, my god. Oh, that was even a trick question. I thought it was a trick question. So, first of all, I feel like when you see, like, the coaches, like, sort of communicating with one another, you really get to see, like, who's the diva. It was clear last season. Like, he thought he was so much better than everyone. And Adam Levine is just like, I'm sorry, he's not qualified to be there anymore. Like, he's really not relevant right now. This is his house. Well, it's a house that he builds. And that's what he. And that qualifies him outside of musical accolades. That's what he, like, pitches himself to the blind or dishes. He knows how to usher you through. But Riley Green. To be with him. Like, it's a dick measuring contest. Like, Riley Green is just very effortlessly cool. Like, a lot of the young girls on that show. Like, they want to be on his team. Like, he's hot. He's like the hot young thing. And they keep like, you know, jabbing it one another. All in good fun, right? And I'm telling you, they fucking hate each other. Queen, the tea fan, Kelly Clarkson are getting along. Just like swimmingly. And they didn't put them next to each other. They went girl boy, girl boy, because I'm telling you. Like, Riley Green and Adam Levine do not get along. And also, I actually don't know. I mean, you're watching. So you could tell me better if it's balanced. But it doesn't really sound like four distinctly different judges. No, because Kelly Clarkson and Queen, like, if I definitely cover a similar girl. Are very similar. And then Adam Levine and Riley Green. They're very like folks. No, and they are the same. Sorry, if you look at them, they're the same person. It's not giving range. That like a lot of the contestants on the show are really young. And like, I feel like a lot of them don't even know Adam Levine outside of the boys. I'm being dead serious. And just seeing him there, it's giving like sad grandpa. And the rest of the group is like so culturally relevant. Like Queen Latifa is eternal. Kelly is so having a moment. And Riley Green is like this up in cover. So it's just like, what are you doing here? It's giving like the senior who graduated, like, keeps coming back to say hi to the teachers. I guess. But I don't want a freshman to be my coach, Riley Green. Well, I don't know. Like on her first season, Kelly Clarkson. No, no, not a freshman one. A freshman one. A coach. A freshman artist. They jump the gun with Riley Green. 100%. He has not earned his stripes. And I want to say, I, you know, my literally, your dream is to be on dance with the stars. My dream is to be a celebrity vocal coach on a competition show. American Idol X-Bactor. The boys. And the thing is, you know, I actually think I would end up with nobody on my team. Because I thought a lot of the singers are not qualified. No, I thought they stung. Like, I wouldn't have turned for half the people that these judges were turning for. But like, they have to hit a quota. Yeah. So I see Queen of the team attorney. I'm like, I know you don't think he's good. But like, you got to, at some point, get someone in a team. I just feel like the pull of people is not like insane. Well, if you think about it, we've been doing these singing shows for 20 some years. Yeah. There are so many of them. We're finding all the best singers in the country every year. Maybe we're out of singers. But new people are born. Like, you can sit there. The baby boop. They are born. No, I just didn't. I wasn't really impressed by the talent, but also it is technically the first round. So by the time we get, you know, to the knockout rounds and whatever the Hollywood week, whatever they call it. Yeah. Then you get like the really good like 10 singers. But for now. And also it's like, you need people who are eligible to go home in the knockout rounds. Like, you don't want to see a great go home in the knockout. It's true. It's true. I don't know. I just, this group is, it's like 75% working. The judges. And they're saying that Adam's the problem. I would say it's 50% working because I think Riley and Adam sound problematic. Riley has a really nice personality. I think him and Kelly like know each other from the country scene. He's getting along really well with everyone. And the contestants really like him. Like I'm telling you, Adam's the outlier. And he like knows it. Like he's sort of leading with like insecurity. And all the jokes that like Riley's making about him is like, he's the old guy. It's like, but he is the old guy. It's like a little too. It's a little too on the nose. I don't even know if it's age. I mean, like, he's definitely much older, but it's like culturally. If he's in his 40s, then it's 47. 47. So if he's in his 40s, it's like a joke, you know, you're going to be saying it about someone like him. But he was more so like not saying it about age, but saying it about like, you know, Adam's old news. Yeah. I enjoyed the jobs. I'm glad because you don't like him. I don't like him. Add him to the list. But I will say, you know, you should also be respectful, not you. Of your elders. Respect your elders. Moving five is huge. Yeah. I feel the right is huge. Anyone that chose Adam when I was watching, they were either choosing him by default or like I'm telling you the judges made like the production made the person choose. But who wants to be an Adam Levine? You know, but if you want to win the voice, you go with Kelly. Or if you're not a Kelly, if you're not like a Kelly. A girl. Yeah. Adam, he knows how to usher you in as a winner. You're on the voice. Who are you going with? And these are my four choices. Like, obviously, Kelly. Obviously, Kelly. I'm looking for a friend. Yeah. Obviously, Kelly. But I just also want to say, like, it would be a tough decision if Queen Latifal also turned around. Yeah. And just for me, obviously, Kelly, like, she's my number one in this world of course, that would be a dream come true. But Motormouth may be like, if I had the opportunity to talk to her endlessly about hairspray. And I would, of course, choose a good morning ball tomorrow, or her solo, Big Blonde and Beautiful. Yeah. It's tough. I would, I would choose Kelly, ultimately, because I think it would be a better match. And she has a coach. And I think, like, vocally, we match a little bit better, but I would have a really hard time choosing. When you say that your dream is to be like a celebrity vocal, does that mean you want to be in the chair? Or you want to be like, we brought in the audience? Oh, no. I want to sit in that chair. Okay. And actually, if I had my trousers, I really would want to be an ex-factor at its height, an ex-actor, because they sat behind the table, and like, you don't have to see your belly or anything. And the lighting was still flattering. And it was such a cultural moment, like when Chloe was hosting. Yeah. I would have loved to have been, like, Bernie Spears or Demi Lovato or LA Read. Understood. That's my dream. I wanted to fulfill that dream. I have to be a successful singer first, and I couldn't even shake it on the mass singer. So, like, I'm definitely not-- that's not going to be in my lifetime. Like, dancing with the stars might be in your lifetime. The voice, slash, ex-factor, slash American Idol is not going to be in my-- Well, what if they-- maybe, you know, like, every other show they might want, like, an influencer. You know? Here's the other thing, though. And also, you could eventually become so powerful as, like, a commentator. Mm-hmm. But they would have a commentator. I can be personally-- you couldn't be on the voice. Sorry. You couldn't be a voice judge. But the way that, like, Simon Cowell. He's not a singer. It's so true. Like, and Randy Jackson. And he was very valuable. It's true.
So I think more of like, I bring the industry. Yeah, and just, it's not the voice 'cause the voice are coaches and you're not a coach. And the other thing about-- But you are a judge. I couldn't coach 'cause like, a judge, a jury, and an execution. I know how to sing, but I can't teach you. Like, I don't even know what sort of value I could provide as a coach because-- Thank you for admitting. Of course, you know, you either have it or you don't. That's what I would tell my team, I would say. Do you have it? Yes or no? Yes or no? Are you still texting bitches? Yes or no? So that's, like, I can't help you beyond that if you don't have what it takes. Yeah, so I think we should just redirect the dream. Yeah, I like that. America's got talent. No. OK, so-- It's like kind of a circus show, do you know what I mean? It is. It's like the abortionists. Yeah, but it is. I want to go strictly like to the-- Straight to the music industry. OK, so-- I need to become a commentator. So powerful. Yeah. They can't ignore me. The way that Joe Rogan does UFC. So true. But also, didn't he-- like, used to fight. Don't worry about that. Well, I was on the massacre. You have two hit songs out. Oh, that's true, actually. A lot of people don't know that. On a jamming, I'm going to have a good time. [LAUGHS] 1,000 hands up to this guy. We actually recently listened to all of my music. And by all of it, of course, I mean my two hit songs. And let me tell you that shit is so good. Like I was in Olivia's house, the kids were loving it. Like, it's really a pop. It's honestly very kid-friendly, too. I don't curse. Yeah. I think I say sexy ones. I toast to the wild ones. You'll have to put out a clean version. That was in person. OK, I love coming up with dreams and aspirations. Do we have a list of that? I was just going to say, like, goals. I know we have a list of regrets. It's important to set goals, and it's also important to remember the goals that-- Well, that's the hard part is not setting them. The hard part is remembering what goals you set. And then how do you know if you achieve them? You're achieving them. OK. Talk about it now. I feel like one of my big goals that I hit, like, I really-- I had this, like, obsession with performing at the vegan theater. And we've done it now, like, many times. Yeah, like, old news. I think it was, like, two or three times. We have dream guests. No. No. We have a really dream of interviewing. So we should start a list called Dreams. OK. Dream. Dreams and, like, accomplishments. Goals, goals. Dreams and goals, just in case I don't know what the search term will be. Right, right. You dancing with the stars. You sure throw me in there, too. OK. Dance with the stars for both of us with the brother duo. Yeah, of course. Or I'll be one of those contestants that dances with a girl. I'll dance with Julianne, and you can dance Derek. [LAUGHS] And then, of course, being a-- Claudia being a judge on a singing show. And, you know, I do think, like, a good version of that. But I think I, like, burned the bridge by quitting in the middle of the show. Is that could be a panelist on massing or because I love to sing, obviously. But I also know a lot of pop culture. So-- I would say the bridge is burned. I actually wouldn't say I talk to, you know, the producer all the time. And I just spoke to Deena the other day, the creator of the show. Like, we're all good. They were very supportive of Monica's. But, like, I'm sure they're whispering about me behind my back. Me, like, never bring that girl back here. Although, I would just, like, truly love to be a panelist. I'll just put that out there. And they do have guest panelists. I think Rita Ora was guest. And then, as far as any other dreams, what about-- I feel like this conversation's coming up a lot now, because there are all these, like, alumni shows of, like, traders, et cetera, that are, like, looking for influence. Or so, of course, thinking, like, what about me, you know? Yeah. Cotsters. Right, right, right. Any of those are any of those in your dreams. No. No. Like, again, I would be unreal on traders. Like, you have no idea. You've ever played that game with me? The Faker? You know the game? I don't know. I started to block out. I know. It's the one you play on the TV that's not quip-lash. No. So it's like, everybody gets a message on their phone. And it says, you're either the Faker or you're not. And then, they give you, like, a bunch of tasks, trivia. And the Faker doesn't get tasks or trivia. So they just have to pretend to know what's going on. And then, you all vote, like, as to each round, who you think the Faker is. And let me tell you, I guess, like, the shit out of everyone, especially those Shapiro's. So I think I would be amazing at traders. Although, again, like, the challenge is, I'm really not down to getting into it. Doing my own glam for TV every day for three weeks. Not really. And you get better at that part that you think. Living in Scotland, or where is it? Scotland. For, like, weeks on end without my family. Also, probably not. So I feel like you could bring your family in. And it probably winds up being, like, two weeks. OK. You know? Yeah. Because it's, like, every day, like, two people go home. Yeah. It's kind of short. Just, like, also being in such close quarters, like, people I don't know. Like, those shows-- Where is this people you know? What do you mean? Like, what if you talked about them? Oh my god, of course. A land mine for a podcaster. Like, I just, I don't know. I don't know. But I think of all the shows that I'm most eligible for, it would probably be traders. OK. Stay tuned. Yeah. I don't have to worry about my guilt, of course. So those are our hopes and dreams. What are your hopes and dreams? Sound off in the comments. If you were-- No, even to this late person. I'm interested. What are people's dreams? Like, also, if you were an influencer, like, what show would you want to be on? I feel like a lot of people would want to be on special forces. Really? Yeah. People not like us, but yeah. Wait, are you being serious? Yeah. Why? Because it's cool and intense. And, like, it's a test of your physical and mental-- But it's, like, really, like, insane amount of work for a show nobody watches. Like, with traders and even dancing with the stars, they're such a payoff. Like, you're putting in so much work physically, emotionally mentally. But you are being rewarded with opportunities, followers, fame, brand deals. Literally, nobody watches special forces. I think some of our audience does. I'm telling you, they don't. And you guys know, I can't talk about special forces about bringing up the fact that, yes, I was asked to be on it. I was pregnant. And I was never doing it. No, no, no. Even if they had asked me one year earlier, I might have done it. Good thing they didn't. That was my peak physical year. I could have not went home first. I would have went home like third. Yeah. Well, I think that's all my dreams for the day. Yeah. I love talking about our dreams. Not like nocturnal dreams because that's so boring, except for the one of the first two at last night. But yes, hopes and dreams. Yeah, the team of the weakest dreams so far. Thunder only hat. You guys know I can't sing when. I was going to sing. I'm pregnant. Dream, dream, dream. Oh, the Mila Saras, that's a good one. I was, of course, going for it because I'm more of like a-- Yeah, you got your head in the cloud. Oh my god, that's not how this is. You got your head in the cloud. You got it thinking out loud, the more you dream about me, the more that I believe that nothing's ever out of reach. So dream, dream, dream, dream. That's such an underrated song. Yeah. And that's in the Hannah Montana movie when she's like finally coming to terms. And she's getting ready for like the big. It was kind of like this sort of powerful montage. Yes, it was. Chilling. You want to get into the stories? Oh, yeah, I just feel like maybe there's one. I'm like, especially eager to talk about. She will be starring in a new series called Bachelorette Weekend. It is a thriller going to Hulu. Kim Kardashian will be producing, as well as Lauren Oliver and Capital Entertainment. So Kylie Jenner set to headline at an and executive produced Bachelorette Weekend working title, a thriller drama that is finalizing a deal for the straight to series order at Hulu. Deadline has learned. This marks the first major role for Kylie, who is following the career trajectory of her older sister. Kim, a reality star in mobile, now branching into acting and producing. So in the series, a Bachelorette Weekend turns deadly when the brides, Kylie, winds up murdered in the pool. Oh, so she's like barely going to be in it because she's dead. And her closest girlfriends all become suspects. Jenner's role is described as the North Star of the series, which pieces together the events that led to the murder. So maybe what is she a ghost? No, she's dead. And then it's all flashbacks. Like, how it all says, we show starts. There's a body in the pool. The rest of the series is what happened before. Okay. Let me start out positive by saying Kylie recently got into acting in that terrible movie. I saw her scene. She did amazing. Like she actually did a good job. So she's obviously going to the TV show in my school of acting, very rigorous, and maybe she can do it. She's a star people. She's a star people. The concept of the show sounds good. Like if it wasn't like this Kylie Kim production, maybe like I would have said, oh, this sounds like a good show. Yeah, a good book. Yeah, exactly. When they said the word thrillers really confusing to me, because when I heard she's in a thriller, I'm like, Oh, ghost in goblins. Like, no, that's what I thought spooky. But no, it's like a psychological. Yeah. I don't know what murder mystery, murder mystery. A lot of the books that we read. I feel like it is really I call it a thriller when I read one of those. But it's really like murder mystery, but I feel like people don't like that. Because it has like a tacky connotation. Yeah, thousand percent. So they say thriller, but thriller just sounds like, you know, someone running through the woods with an axe. Now to be negative, I just like can't understand my Kylie would want to do this. Because one, like, Kylie doesn't do anything. So if there's stuff she's going to do, like, girl, like make a TikTok, like we would love to see that. Like of all the things I want to see from Kylie, this is probably last on the list. And two, like, I know that net net who was probably really happy with Kim's all spare show, because everyone was talking about it. I'll be it negatively. But like, it was huge. Like, it was the ratings were insane. People were just curious at how bad a show could be. But ratings are ratings, you know? Yeah. So I don't know like net net if Kim looks back on that. Like, it was a good thing or a bad thing. But I think they are doing season two, right? They are. I think. So like, it's like a freak show. Like circus. People can't look away. And like, that's so not Kylie. Like, Kylie's so reserved. She does nothing. Like, she literally has five times a year. We never get to see her. We never get to consume her. I feel like we don't really like even know her. And when she does do things like that really let us in like pass the plus. Like, everyone loved it. And this is like, first of all, we're not going to get to know her at all because she's like playing an actress. And two, like, I don't know. Like, this is what you're doing. Like, we've been, we want so much. We want like work kind of as bad ex. Like, we want Tim and theme. We want the YouTube story. Me batch the right week. Why? Like, literally why? I don't know why. However, it's a way to work without having to like give any part of yourself part of herself. She is public and private. Like, her relationships private. And so I don't think she wants to be making more vlogs or doing more podcasts. I think those things are fun once in a while. And, you know, show everyone like who she is. And we all have a chuckle. But like, no one wants to actually do that all the time. No, like the Kardashians, specifically when they're working. Like, they're just sort of like exploiting their selves, their family. So I understand why Kylie, who doesn't have to do that, doesn't do it. Although that is what we want from her. Yeah. And when they do it, they also do it on the show. And she doesn't even do that. So I think the idea of acting is attractive to her. And the fact that she was good at it is also attractive. And I think that like, this could be really good. Like, what if she's a really good actress? And then we get to like watch her and have a good show. The thing is though that like, we said the same thing about Kim because like, Kim doesn't do anything less than 100%. She took all the acting class. And like, it wasn't good. No, but did we ever have like a moment where we thought she was a good actress? Yeah, I feel like we saw her in like cameos and stuff. And we were like, because when you are doing like a 30-second spot on something, it's so easy to crush it. Like, you saw her in the Emma Roberts American horror story. And wasn't she in, she was famously in that episode of 90210 with Naomi, where Naomi wants free clothes from Daesh. She did a bunch of cameos back in the day. Yeah. And so like, little things over time where it's like, okay, well, how hard is acting? Like, it's not. But to be like the anchor of the whole show is hard. And I don't know, I wasn't like dazzled by Kim. No, but I'm not going to punish Kylie for that. No, no. And of course, Kylie does have something that Kim didn't have, which is Timothy, who is like, he is actually like on his way to becoming one of the greatest actors. And I don't think Timothy would let her act if he didn't think she could. He vetted the script. He did everything. Yeah. And he knows that like, he's going to be a girl has talent because that would be really awkward for him if he's like this amazing actor, like generational. And she has like a razzie for a wife. Look, it's actually not an option. Failure's not an option. No, so I have confidence in Timothy. And I do have confidence in Kylie. I do. And don't you feel like Kim, maybe this is like me projecting my own thoughts, like regrets a little bit, the dabble into acting. No. Because I feel like so much of the news we read about her recently is like hurting on more of a production role. She has that new show about like the team moms, not team moms, the team moms about their moms in sports. And now she's producing this Kylie thing. So like, maybe she's taking more of a back seat. Maybe, but I don't think so. I feel like she still thinks like all spheres. I was going to say it's all fair season. And remember when we were watching the show and she had this like big meeting at Netflix and they sold through this like comedy, that was going to be the next bridesmaids. I'm sorry, like literally 18 minutes ago on variety, all spheres season two to launch from Rome film festival with Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Neesey Nash and Sarah Paulson attending. So not only are they bringing back for season two, they're bringing it back bigger than ever. Okay. But she also had like a movie that's supposed to come out. I don't know if they filmed it. Remember she was pitching it on the show. Yes. And was it all over time? - When was it? - When was it?
We talked about it. Yes. Like, it was star-studded. Star-studded, it's gonna make me cry, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What happened to that? I don't know. Like, I hate this era for him. Like, I think it makes no sense. And it kind of like always makes you think about what Courtney was saying when they were fighting. Like, Courtney, who like, you know, famously doesn't work and she, they're both extreme on either end. But Courtney's like, why is like, it's never enough. It's just like excess all the time to prove everyone wrong. And it's like, why are you just be happy with what you have? Like, skims and just being famous. Like, why is that not enough? And like, dabbling and different things. And so, yeah, it's like, why are you doing all this? Like, when we were watching her like, a study for the bar at the All's Fair thing. Like, staying in a hotel, missing her family. And it's like, you didn't even pass the bar and the show's stunk. It's like, why? Yeah. Like, literally, why? Yeah. Like, it would just never be me. No, and I, that's how I feel about Kim. But I don't wanna, you know. Project that onto Kylie. Yeah, and- Yes, there is, yeah. I'm holding space for like this maybe being good. Because Kylie doesn't do anything bad. Yeah. We did say that about Kim before she's proceeded to do all these things poorly. Like, well, that was super fun. She said great, right. We said, Kim operates at a level that is just pure excellency. And that was the case. But then like, she's, I think she really overcommitted herself to like all these different passions. And in addition to being like, being the skims founder is like, literally like, I'm a greed level. Like, it's enough for five people. But then she has to do the show. And she has to do the acting. And she has to take the bar. And she has to do the skin care line. And she has to do the makeup line. And she has to do sky ventures. Sky ventures. Good, good, good. That was a crazy time. She does too much. And she ended up doing a lot of things poorly as opposed to like a few things really well. Kylie does very, very few things. But they all, so I have to imagine that if she's taken, but we said the same exact thing about Kim. But let's see, shall we? Yeah. It does sound like a good show. Mm-hmm. I think we said the same thing about all. I don't know why I'm really thinking of it like the perfect couple on Netflix, which was a bad show. But it's based on a book where it's like, somebody dies. And then we spend the whole time like, getting into the target. A lot of shows are like that. It's a good trope. It is. It is. And if she's the bride, maybe that's the closest we'll ever see her as a bride with a ring on her finger, that's exciting for the thing. You probably came home from that day of shooting, like the day of the wedding, just like in her dress. I was like, Tim, Timmy. Timmy. Are you ready for our next story? I feel like I need to choose it because it's been sent to me 1,000 times. And also like, yeah, Tim. Michaela McGarro went on J-Shedding. Yes, she did. So Michaela McGarro declined her imitation to namesake to instead bring her story to J-Shedding. And let me say she's a bitch for that, like, seriously. Why would she want to go on a fake invented show? That has no episode. Instead, she went to J-Shedding to talk about her divorce. Talks about a lot of things. And I have to say, perfect place for Michaela. She's never done really a long form interview. And there's so much lore around her. Obviously, people are now obsessed with her divorce and her relationship. But just like even her rise to fame and the accent, and she really talked about it all, I will say. I found that interview really endearing. She came out so honest. And there are some really ugly parts of her divorce, because it involves addiction. And I think a lot of people judge you when you leave your partner in addiction. But at what cost? Yeah. I actually really respect her decision and how she explained it. And I know it's so stupid, but I'm kind of getting hung up on the accent thing because she talked about it. And I didn't really feel what she was saying. And I think that she slowly started to drop the accent. But it has been the most-- What did she say? She basically said that when she's around her family, she leans into it more. And the first video she ever posted actually didn't have that accent. And then she just started playing it up and then leaning into it because it gave her so much attention. And then she just became this version of herself that she didn't recognize. Obviously, the voice, but all of it. She was hiding what she was going through in her divorce and just not being real at all. She was like everything was fake, literally everything. And is she trying-- well, because sometimes it's nice to have like a version, an online version of yourself. That you can separate. That you take the mask off. And you're like, OK, and that you have really good delineation. But is she trying to strip it back and show up now, whereas K-Lore? Yes, now. It was just very jarring because mostly because she probably said the word divorce 100 times in the interview. And to hear her say divorce, literally just divorce, I was shocked. To us. She can't say up until recently that she couldn't say the letter R. That's like what people-- the Pock. And it was extremely distracting. You know that reminds me of Grace Somali, too. Yeah, but I think she does talk like that. She plays it up for fun. But when she's having a real conversation, she talks normally. And when Makayla was having real conversations on the internet, she was not talking normally. Real conversations with who. Like, camera, like 10 minute videos. Yeah, it wasn't just the bit. It was like any time she was on camera. Yeah. It was like a wig. Yeah. Yeah. That I can understand that. Yeah. I can understand pretty much all of her decision making. Like, I'm always defending Makayla. And I feel like it's also like really, you know, it gets people like talking. And you try being in and we're all quoting her. Right. It's meanable. It's meanable. I don't think-- I don't think there's something so wrong with that. I think that's what Grace Somali does. Like, she goes-- she goes to-- everything I see a clip of her. It's like more and more of an action. With Grace Somali, it's like very clear that it's a bit. She's not lying and pretending that this is how she talks. You know, at night-- Oh, she's a boyfriend. Oh, it is a bit? Oh, 1,000%. Oh, OK. 100%. Her and Brianna, you should do it together. It was like their thing. OK. Because they're both like from that area. Makayla, I think, was genuinely trying to convince people that how she talks. And I understand having like a delineation between your public and your private self. And like, I actually really respect that. I just feel like it's like a real commitment. Like, it's crazy. Because her natural voice, which we've now heard for, you know, the first time, is so different. It's like Paris Hilton. She doesn't even have, like, a little bit of a Boston accent, like not even a little. Well, that's strange. When I was watching the clip, Jackie, I didn't notice anything. The voice. Ask one person from Boston to say the word voice. It was like doing her serious-- like, I didn't even notice there was something different about her voice. But I'm not like so clued into her voice. But no, the Paris Hilton comparison is actually a very good one. Yeah, Paris Hilton has, like, the voice that she uses as Paris Hilton. No, no. And then she's got like a-- You guys would die. She has a man voice. Yes. And she shared that in her YouTube documentary, but I'm not sure if she had ever shared it before. That she did, like, the voice is for the public. If you know what it is, it's, like, the internet is so parasocial. Like, it really makes people think that, like, your relationship with Paris Hilton is just like not the same as your relationship with your favorite influencer. Like, for some reason, it's just deeper than that. So I think you sort of demand a level of transparency from your influencers. That's borderline, like, unreasonable, because it's their job. Like, I mean, you don't demand that from Paris Hilton, or your favorite celebrity. Yeah. But at the end of the day, like, an influencer's job is to entertain. I feel like people think influencers just have to be relatable. And that's how, like, you're a successful influencer. But, like, that's not true. Like, you could be aspirational. You could be inspirational. You could be educational. You could be-- just funny. You could be entertaining. So the idea that everyone has to, like, strip it back and, you know, show you themselves naked is, like, that's not the only way to be a successful influencer. That's very true. So when people say-- It's just like a cult, but Jack, when people say so and so isn't relatable, like, OK, fine. So, like, not everyone has to be relatable or authentic. That's not what everybody's, like, beat niche. But if you're coming to the table in the spirit of that, like, a lot of Michaela's content is and was, you know, being real about insecurities and, like, being very authentic, relatable, every girl. From the arc as, like, being the relatable girl. It's, like, Ellen, you come up being the nice girl. You have to be nice to everyone. Yes. And so when you come up being, like, the relatable girl, who's honest about, you know, her-- she does talk about, like, her insecurities and procedure she has done. She's shared when she got lip filler, like-- and then you're, like, kind of, harboring this huge secret. Like, it is in Congress. Yes. But I like the call that, like, demanding all your favorite influencers remain completely relatable to you. And not aspirational. Like, you just have to be real. Why? No, and it's, like, I don't want to watch 100 real people. I want to watch-- I have my favorites that are real and I relate to them. I have my favorites that I'm-- Want to be like-- I'm interested by them. I'm favorites that I'm just, like, oh, I feel like a fly on the wall. You know, like, Valerie, and I just want to, like, watch. You know, I-- so I don't know why everyone wants to be watching everyone who, like, seems relatable to them. No, and I think when, like, a female influencer gets, like, really successful, the thing that people like to say is, like, she's not relatable anymore. Good. Like, she's succeeded. Like, relevance, I don't understand. Yeah, no, and it's, like, a big knock. You know, like, I can't watch her anymore. She's not relatable. Yeah, just say you're not happy for someone's success. Yeah, it's exactly what it is. Yeah, Miguel has seemed really sound of mind. And you can, like, relate to someone for, like, other reasons other than them-- Like, you have different lifestyles like you. Like, I can relate to someone else who's a mom. They could be doing it such a different way. They could have a different amount of kids. But, like, we can relate. On a human level. Yeah, it doesn't have to be just because-- So equal, which is, like, one to one. Yeah. In the interview, she did cry, of course, because, like, a lot of what she's talking about is very deep. But she sounded really sound of mind. She sounded healed. Of course, people have, like, criticism about her new relationship. Like, is it too fast? She's doing a lot of the things with him that she did with Cody, like, buying him Louis Vuitton and Jackets. But I don't know. She seemed really good. Good, yeah. So she talked about her divorce. And, like, why she got a divorce and what really happened in their relationship. And it seemed, like, it was not good. It was not good. So he relapsed. Well, she also said that, like, at the time when they had met, he was in the stage of his recovery where you're not supposed to get into a relationship. And I don't think she really fully realized that to, like, deep into the relationship. And also, this around the time they met, shit really takes off for her in, like, in a crazy way. So they said, like, when they met, you know, day one, they're more of an equal playing field. She said, he's freshly sober. He's confident about life. He's feeling good and he wants to share it with someone.
We were both in really the same exact position of going through a massive change and wanting to share it with someone. She said that he really struggled with her level of fame in the spotlight that it brought to him, noting that her star power was only continuing to grow in the early days of their relationship. She said, "I don't think here I understood the scale "of what was going to be." He was very, very supportive and open to it, but I think he very quickly realized that it was a lot more challenging than he thought. - Especially 'cause he's dealing with his own shit, which is so new. - Yes, and she starts to deal with stuff like all of the hate and backwards and he doesn't know how to be there for her. And how can you really even be there for someone? - You can't, like you're on so much of your own journey, it's so fresh, so he feels alone, she feels alone. It's literally like a recipe for disaster. - Yeah, she said he could be by my side and support me and try to help me through it, but he couldn't physically do anything. He struggled a lot with that and so did I. - That's sad. - Yeah, she talked about one of the scariest nights in her life a few years after they got married when she found him unconscious at home. She called the police, everything ended up being okay, but she said that moment was really scary. She said during the last year of their marriage, she started to feel that he had become a completely different person from the man she married. And she started to recognize that she couldn't give him the support she needed. She said, "I wanted to be there for Cody and I wanted to help him as much as I could, but I knew that he was the one that had to be the one to be sober and to get sober." And I was giving my all to try to be the best partner for him, but my job is so demanding and so exhausting and so busy. And I think he needed a partner who was there more. So she said, "It's interesting how my career is the thing that played a massive role in the destruction of my marriage, but also what saved me from the destruction." - Well, yes, but I also think that's unfair of her to say to herself that like her career was such a big, I think the biggest thing is like, that's why the rule is that you're not allowed to date when you're in the program for the first year. He struggled with drugs and alcohol, like on a pretty severe level. So I would say even more than a year. That's probably, I don't know if I realized that like, I thought when they had met like he'd been actively sober for a really long time, not that he had it under control, but it wasn't like such an imminent threat. I think like she's putting a lot of the blame on herself, which is sad. Obviously, no marriage is perfect, but when you're starting out there, and then of course, like the fame of it on money, but I feel like she really is like beating herself up too much. - Yeah, I hope that like she can, you know, find. - She's so healed. - But it's also like, she's not gonna go on this show and be like, well, he's drug addicted and so I like. - Yeah, she has to take responsibility. - Yeah, like, you know, and just be like, these are the reasons why I couldn't be the right partner to him. This is how I coped. This is what I did. She's not just gonna be like, he's bad. I'm great and I'm out because that's rude. - No, it is. - And it's like, you don't need to go on a show to tell us that. - And I think she's very aware of how people criticize her in all the different ways, but especially as it relates, it's very sensitive, like to. - Of course. - You know what somebody who's having addiction and like being there for them, like up into a certain point, like seriously, at what cost, how long, how many things are we going to destroy just for the sake of like me being there for you, sometimes like really the best thing you can do is just like protect yourself and get out. - Yeah. - Which I think some people would say like that's selfish. Like, okay, it's self-preservation. Like, no, I really respect her. - Yeah. - And she's a new boyfriend and she seems really happy and she's like constantly doing her luxury shopping haul. She just did one. It was like somebody calculated. - Now relatable Claudia, I don't want to see it. - Not relatable, what is together? - She went to Chanel. - Okay. - She got a bunch of shoes and bags. - Anything that I would like. - No, I feel like you guys have actually a really different style, like. - And so you know what? And in that sense, I would not relate to that. - No, I love to see then people telling it up, you know, 'cause she doesn't say what she's spent, but she shows all the items online, a couple hundred jeans, you know? - A hundred? - She does that, like a couple times a year. I think people also really underestimate how much money she makes. It's insane. And if you're going to go into a category as an influencer and you want to make the most amount of money, like you do go to makeup. - Makeup, I think, is the most profitable. She's at the top of the game and she was really the first, like on TikTok. She has 15 million followers. She does all these collabs. Of course, like brand deals, she does so much TikTok job. Like, and she has said that like, she is not interested in having kids. So like, she's not saving for anything. Like, she's just living her life. - Oh, interesting. - About a four million dollar house. - I didn't know, I didn't know that back healer. - Yes, she said, like, that's not a part of her journey. - Oh, interesting. Also, shout out to Jay Shetty. I feel like he's sort of, like, moved into like, this new, like, digitals and influencer space where he was doing like a lot of-- - Athletes, like, very high level politicians. - Yeah, which is boring. - Yeah, we want to hear from these people. - No, and it's like, it's amazing that he has had Kobe Bryant on his podcast. Like, literally, nobody can say that and that's great. But he's really, like, evolving with the time. - Uh-huh. - And I agree, it's kind of-- - He's evolving in a part G way. - Yeah, I think a lot of people, when they have like, trauma, I think the places where he used to go, like, would be like, call her daddy and maybe that's it. - In a few years ago, McKayla would have gone on call her daddy. - Yeah, and now I feel like he's kind of, if somebody has like something serious to talk about, they're really going to Jay. Who is just Emily Kaiser? - Mm-hmm. - Yeah, I think that he's doing a great job. - Yeah. - Three? - Three, a little podcasting news. - Yeah, I'm ready. - The exciting podcasting news, so the Golden Globes, which now have a best podcast award category. - Year two. - We have released their short list for podcasts eligible for the Golden Globes. - So we spoke about this last year, because we were like, oh, they're doing a new category of best podcasts. Are they just choosing from like anyone on Earth? Could they choose us? And Jackie was like, no, they can't. They like come together with this list of like, 30 shows. - Yeah, so the criteria is used by Luminant. It's detailed in the Golden Globes awards. It's based on charts, downloads, trends, rankings, culture, et cetera. And they put out a list of 30 shows that are eligible to be nominated. - When we get the list of nominations in the Golden Globes, it will be one of five of these 30 shows. - Is it five? - Oh, I don't know. How many things get nominated? - I don't know, that's fine. - Like maybe five to seven? - Seven feels right. - Okay, so let's say six. - Okay. - Amy Polar won last year. She was famously up against her ex-husband, smart list. - Oh, yes. Six nominees. Who was nominated last year? - Smart list. Let me see if I can remember. Mel Robbins, call her daddy. Amy Polar, they must have had like a sports one on there. Was part of my take. - Was it? The Daily. - The Daily, for sure. Okay, so call her daddy. So we're starting fresh. Call her daddy, Amy Polar, armchair expert, smart list, Mel Robbins, up first. I don't know that one. Oh, NPR. - Okay, well, these are the 30 eligible this year. Bad friends. - Oh, that's Andrews, you've definitely seen the graphic. I, I'm a wizard. Andrew Santino, the redhead of the comedian. - You definitely know like the poster chart. - Yeah. - Behind the bastards. - Oh, my God, what? That's what it says. - Call her daddy. - Of course. - Conan O'Brien needs a friend. - Industry plant. - That's what it is. Crime junkie, date line NBC. Isn't that a show? - Oh, I guess they have a podcast too. - Good hang with Amy Polar. - She's definitely gonna get nominated again. - Last cult tree says with Matt Rogers in both of me. - Last coach. - Last cult. - As a kids call it. - Love trapped. - I don't know what. - And Shane secret podcast has changed. - Shane Gillis. - Morbid. - Of course. - Mr. Ballon podcast. Strange dark and mysterious stories. - They have to cover all the genres. - They can't just do like yeah. - Until they have the parties. - Of course, of course. - We can break out by category. - Of course. - My favorite murder. - Yeah. - New heights. - Oh. - As well to them. - That's a good one. - I feel like they'll get the nomination. - Just so Taylor comes to the Golden Logs. - Not just so they're, they- - Of course not just that. - And they're, of course, of course, of course. - Part of my take. - Huge for the digital community. - Podsave America. - Classic. - Revisionist history. - I don't know it. - Rotten mango. - I don't know it. I think they mean Rotten tomato. - Oh, maybe it's like a movie. - Maybe. - Yes. - Smart less. - Of course. - And the stuff you should know. - Yeah, I feel like they were nominated last year too. - I've seen them around town. Bill Simmons. - The ringer. - Yeah. The daily classic. - Classic. - Joe Rogan. - I feel like last year he wasn't on the list. I remember us talking about it. And it was like kind of validated the list. - Yes, agreed. Megan Kelley. - Mm-hmm. - Mel Robbins. - Your girl. - Classic. - Sean Ryan. - Joe. - I don't know him. - The toast. - That was so hard for us. - I know. - Like, not us literally giving actress. Like, that was good. We could win the Golden Globe. - Yeah. Okay. We finished the list and then we'll talk about it. - Oh, the toast. Tiger Croshing Show. This American life. This past weekend with the Ovan. You guys, that's what we were like sitting on our hands to say. - When I tell you it in sleep. And Claudia called me last night. I was like, check your text. It was for this. Not dancing with the stars. - Well, our publicist called me an APM, which is never good and she never calls. And my stomach actually fell out. I was like, what? She's like, did you hear? And I was like, oh my god. She was writing an article about us. Like, I was like, oh my god. And she's like, you guys are on the tour list for the Golden Globe. And I was like, what? First of all, I didn't know the list was coming out. - Yeah. - This is something we should be looking out for. - I didn't know that was happening. - The idea that we would be on the list. Like, literally never even crossed my mind. I wouldn't even even put this on my goals list because I didn't know it was an option. - Yeah. - And I seriously, like, I didn't sleep away. Like, I cannot something about it. I feel like I'm going to make it a big deal today. And then we're going to drop it because we don't like to make things a big deal. But we have to just like talk about how huge this is. Okay. I feel like, you know, we sit in our little studio and we just talk to each other. And like, sometimes it feels like no one is listening. And it's like, we are huge. We're literally huge. We're on the list. Like, I'm sorry. I will never get over this. And I genuinely, we have not been nominated and I just want to say, I know we're not going to be. And it's fine. Like, this is perfect for me. But I just want to say, for the first time in my life, I understand why people say like it's an honor to be nominated. Like, it's literally an honor to be on the list of potential nominees. Like, honor doesn't even cover it. Like, I'm not okay. I will never be okay from this. Like, when I saw her name, I'm like, what is our web show doing on this list?
Like, I, I'm sorry, like, this is the biggest deal ever. I'm sorry, it is. And I must stop saying I'm sorry 'cause I'm not even sorry. - Yeah. And so we had to add to our list of like huge crazy things that we've done. - In our career, like things have come and go, and we forget that we've kind of done like some cool things over the years. 'Cause we just, whatever happens that day, the next day we show up and do the toast. And it's a stabilize. - Just so we keep 'em moving. - So we did update our list of like, accomplishments that we met have forgotten about. - To include being on the list of eligible. And once again, like, I mean, it would be honor to be nominated for the short list, but like there's no expectation. We're so honored just to be nominated. And also what was cool. So then we were like, what do they go by for this? Like, where do they find it? - Where do they find it? - And it really is based on like numbers and popularity. And, um. - Things that mean everything to me, numbers and popularity. Like, I can't. - I can't. - Yeah. - And you know what? The reason why I'm like freaking out about this is 'cause you guys know how much like external validation means to me. And I know what I'm supposed to do. - And we don't, and we never get any. - We never, and I know I'm not supposed to care, right? And I'm trying, I'm trying, but like I'm just a girl. And like, my name is on the Golden Globes website. Like, seriously? I'm just trying to song about this. Like, I'm so emotional. I think that I should write a song or somebody should write one for me. - It's based on unique listeners and viewers, total downloads and streams, completion rate, like how many people finish the episode, subscriber count, audience retention, chart rankings, featured listings. So that's a number of curated editorial placements across platforms. - Which we don't have a lot of. But let me just say this. - Especially after my nightmare. - Before I continue on. We just have to say, like what was the metric? Like listener retainership. Like, we have the best listeners. - We actually listen every day. That's like so crazy. - And they finish the episode. - Yeah, right. Our metrics are so strong because of you guys. Like, can't thank you bitches enough. Like for real, like this means the world to me. I also think that like, while yes, these are like the biggest shows, I think what went on for that show in that year. 'Cause like, armchair expert is not on this list, but I don't think that means it's not huge. I think that like maybe they made no cultural impact to this year. And I feel like this year was actually like an amazing time to be a pop culture swirly, like given all the different, scamand of all, bachelorette, secret lies. So I'd like to thank, you know, the women of reality TV and pop culture celebrities. Like for making our job-- - That's true. That's true. - Some years are big for pop culture and some years are not. This was a particularly like good year. - Yeah, no, I just like, thank you so much. - Like we're on left, like I can't. I can't. - And we're like always reading these lists. - We're always reading these lists. And of course we expect nothing. We love reading lists. - And like we really, we love reading lists. - We read this list last year. - We are very happy like people in our station. - Of course, oh no, no, and like I keep saying, like I actually believe like in no world will we get nominated. And I think that's perfect. We always say we wanna be like 50 feet from stardom and like being on the list before the list. - Yeah. - Perfect placement. - It's so awesome. - It's literally giving Celine Dion. - It's a personal chef. Like if anyone's listening, like don't. - Don't not nominate us because we're like making jokes. Like, of course I will. - Do what you are gonna do. - Like do what you're gonna do. - Don't let me. - Nine months pregnant. - We're going, like. - Oh, if we are nominated, that we are. - We're going. - We're going. - Do what you're gonna do based on. - And you know what, like if we were to get nominated, like we want it not because, you know, we have an end. We want it because we earned it. You know? - And we earned it. Like we most certainly don't have it in. - Who are we to like get in the way of what we process? - Of what we do. - So do your thing. Now let's take ourselves out of the equation for three seconds and just do our predictions for who we think will be nominated. I actually think this year, Collar Daddy will not be nominated. I think just like we were saying, like certain years, you have more impact on culture than others. And I think that this is just not her year. - Okay, so I'm. - But I do think repeats will be Amy Polar 'cause you don't win in the knock on nominated. - Yeah. - Amy Polar. - I kind of feel like, do you feel like, smartness is like a little like falling off a little bit. They don't do video. Like it's insane. How do you feel about podcasts without video? - I agree, I wouldn't be surprised. I would think new heights would be. - Could they have Taylor on this year? - No. But they've like maintained like huge numbers. - I agree. - Like Joe Rogan just for metric sake, like he should be. - But wouldn't be. - Right. - No, I feel like maybe this year he would be. - Or they'll do like one of those podcasts like Joe Rogan. - I don't know, there's not like a standout winner. Like last time. - I'm junky. - It was clearly Amy Polar. - Yeah. - I feel like this year, it's like clearly us honestly. - I think so. - Maybe it's just like. - Yeah. - 'Cause I am me, but I feel like it's us. - Well, the argument could be me that's always been us. - Well, you guys don't want to go there. That's an episode about the chip. Like, can you guys don't want to go there? - No, the chip is taking a back seat today. We're just feeling very grateful. - Oh my god, no way. - By the way, the chip has been eaten, like just for today. - So thank you to everyone. - Seriously, thank you to everyone. - Seriously, show thank you. - Oh, Jack, I have always wanted to say this. Thank you to the Hollywood Farm Press, like. - Yeah. - What you see in us, like we've always, of course, seen in ourselves, but it is really nice to be validated by an institution such as yourself. So to the Hollywood Farm Press, I love you. And maybe because we're obviously not going to be nominated, like should we give our speech? - Let's wait, let's wait to see, like, why are you making it me the time away? - Once we officially aren't nominated, I will be putting on a ballgown and giving my speech here. - I love that. - Okay. - Yeah. But like, have a hope, Turdy. - Yeah. - Are you ready for our next story? - Like, no, we're on the list. - And you guys, like, we went, like, 50 minutes without mentioning it, which I think was pretty cool. - Cool, pretty admirable. - We are being so weird in the beginning. I hope you guys stuck around long enough to, like, hear why people are like, why would I listen to this show? - No, I was like, she called me to say something great that I'm not gonna tell you. - We were being so super-project. - We were. We were just, like, trying to be cool, okay? It won't happen again. - Let us, just give us, give us this one day to be insufferable, and then I promise, we'll go back to being like, cool, comic-collected tomorrow. - Our fourth. - Oh, no, I'm ready. - If it's our next story, oh, new sponsor alert that I could not be more excited about, mama's, listen up. So I remember when it happened, Bailey was not on summer house. Like we had no idea who she was, but she was doing content before summer house. - Like, man on the street is like a series called It Girl. - Where she interviews It Girl's like on the street, talking about like being It Girls and who's your It Girl. - And I think it was that type of work that got her eligible for summer house. Yeah, and now obviously the series has blown up, especially at Erica Jane on it because she's now on summer house. But I remember at the time, we didn't know who she was, but I remember this scandal of a girl claiming that bar stool was copying their stick because bar stool like has all these different like media channels. They have a bunch of different Instagram accounts. They have ones for girls, ones for guys. And they had this like Instagram account called Chicks. That was like. - Female content. - How men, like it was literally like, we think girls will like this. And they were just like putting up memes about girlhood and it got like a lot of followers. And then they started to do like their own content that's supposed to be coming like an aggregate. And they changed it from Chicks to It Girl. And they started making like making content how bar stool does, having like celebrities come in, doing man on the street. - Yeah, I saw this stuff all the time. And actually there wasn't really a host. It was like face people from love island like answering the most horrible questions about them. - Yeah, it's like a content stop. Like press people. But when they had done the rebrand, this random girl at the time named Bailey made a video saying like, I do It Girl, you as her copying my name. And she got a lot of heat at the time because like It Girl, she didn't come up with. And it's just a phrase. - It's just a phrase. So like they have the same name as you, but they're not doing the same content as you. Like, no, and like it's just a phrase. And it's not a one that you could even really trademark. And so because that's the risk that you run when you just use a name. - So she got like a lot of heat. Like Dave made a video because people were like, it was just a little absurd, the claim at the time. - Okay. - And Dave responded being like, who are you? Like obviously classic like mean Dave. And it's always been like a part of Bailey's lore and then she reignited it yesterday. - Okay, so then she reignited it and posted a clip - That It Girl, have posted on the Verity Red carpet and she said I received death threats for weeks over this and it was an exact copy all along like I said it was. Believed for weeks and I was telling people the truth and people believed this guy's stool president day. And she had said, not only did they seal her name but at the time when she made that initial claim that bar stool employees were watching her stories and then they like went and were copying like caption for caption. - Well, that is crazy by the way. - That what that she said that are. - If they're watching her stories and at the jacket she was so random, like seriously it wasn't even popular. So that's why people were like you making this claim is insane because nobody even knows your show. But if people like if she can prove that, that is crazy. - Yes, she said, - But the reason why this video blew up is because I think her thing is that she'll ask her man on the street people like who's an It Girl right now? And so this It Girl bar stool account went on the Verity Red carpet as just like one of the stops on the right carpet they interviewed in a half way and they asked her like who's an It Girl right now. So it's like she thinks that that's sort of like the smoking gun because the question is the same. - And the thing is it's like these are bad questions, like and bad names. So like who cares if they came up in the first. - The way that I feel like. - The idea that none of you should be proud to own this question. Both of you should link with the question. I watched the clip on the Verity Red carpet asking and half the way who's an It Girl like. - It's a bad question. - What? I agree. So and then they're asking other random people at the Verity premiere. And then so everyone's either saying and half way or Dakota Johnson, like bad question, bad answers. I would actually not raise my hand and be like, I came up with that. - This is my thing because I would hide. - And it's not a particularly unique or titillating question. So like the idea that two independent parties with both the name It Girl could come up with it, like isn't the craziest idea. - No, not at all. And I believe that they both came up with their names separately. I don't think they were copying Beelie, especially before she went on a summer house. And then when your platform is called It Girl, then that is natural. - It's a natural. - It's like when we did the morning breath and we said, what, it described your morning breath in one word, but we used to do red carpet. It was seriously disgusting. And the people were like. - It's a real question. - Another bad question. - That's us, the bad breath girls on the Golden Globes list. - So I don't know. I think this is a stretch. I do think it can be a case of parallel thinking and just I wouldn't really want to like stake my claim on this. - Right, no, I agree. But what I did notice is that Beelie is dead or hair brown. - Yeah, I barely recognized her. - She looks so good. - And I'm crazy, we were just having this conversation 'cause a friend of ours who's been blonde forever finally went brown. - There's also something else though. I just wanted that. - That Beelie. - Yeah. - Oh, you mean like work? - Something. - You see Jessie Salomon as a girlfriend? They went. - I saw, I didn't see it, but I saw about it. Let me click it. - It's a beauty. I think she's a new girl on summer house, which is Jessie's favorite deal. - And it's Laurie Patience Zero, Lexi Wood. - Oh my God. - Lexi Wood is Patience Zero. - Are you sure she's a new girl on summer house? Or is she the new girl because? - Oh, I don't know if what came first, the girl or the house, but she's the new girl on summer house and she's Jessie Salomon's girlfriend. I don't know if she got to be the girlfriend because of the house or she got to be the house because of the girlfriend. - And I also want to say, I don't think like bar stool has, they have things people say about them and like. - Right, legitimate criticisms. - It's a stealing problem. They're very original thinkers over there. - You know, most of their content is original. The bar stool sports Instagram account is an aggregate, but they license all the content and they get permission. For the most part, it's all content and personal-- - And blogs. - It's very original. - Agreed, that's not a claim easy name. - So it's just my belief based on like, vaguely knowing the players that this was their idea that is very similar to Bayley's. - Agreed. - And it's like, should we not ask the girl question 'cause we've got this like, it girl pattern. - On our shoulder, like, on our tail. We've got an it girl on our tail, it's Bayley. - Seriously, but you know what good for her? She is making more waves in like culture and she is a great cast member. Like, I actually really like her. So sure, like, I'm happy we're talking about her. I want her to have a long career on summer. - Yes, and it is like platforming her it girl show because honestly, I only see the other it girl out. - I see both, but it's really TikTok. - So now I'm like, oh, they're two equal it girls. And now you're like raising, you're elevating yourself to that same level. - And I think that's the message. As an it girl myself, I would say there's room for all of us. - There. - Really, there is. - Who's your it girl? - Great question. Like, who's the girl of the moment right now? I think like the streets would say Ella Rubin. Did you see her at Sterling Point Girl? Did you see her at the Chanel Paris Fashion Week show? - I didn't see her because I would have to know her. - You, you don't know Ella Rubin? - No. - She is the star of. - It sounds familiar, you've brought her up before. - And she was the daughter. Did you see the idea of you? - No. - So funny, 'cause she played the daughter and had the way the daughter and the idea of you, the one who's in love with the Harry Styles figure and then her mom ends up dating him. And I remember thinking like, oh, this girl's annoying. Like, I didn't see one ounce of star quality in her. And I was like, well, never see her again. And here she is, it girl, Chanel. She's like the new piece of Chanel. Yeah. A US. - That's beautiful. Our fifth and final story is a little more bravo news because the Southern Charms season 12 trailer came out. - My God, that show, like. - And just when you think they have nothing left to give. They're always turning out good seasons. - And it's like, they're so random. - A secret love child rumor has shocked the cast. So in the trailer, it's like the usual drama - It was child crag. - You know, Austin and. - Sally. - And Austin likes the new girl classic. And then they're on like a beach. They're at like a vacation at dinner together and someone's like, well, everyone's saying that you have a child. And they have a photo of the child showing it around. And I wonder who's it is. Who's do you think it? - Yeah, crags. - Shep. - I would know. - Shep. - Yeah, he does have this sort of vibe of a guy who was a secret love child. - Yeah, but like, it was a baby. I feel like he would have a 12-year-old. - You know what? Craig is filming traders right now. - Uh-huh. - And somebody texted me in a group chat with Craig yesterday and he didn't answer. I feel like if he had gotten off, he would have answered, right? Like, I think he's like making it far. I just like, I'm hoping. - Or they're all just sequestered until. - You think they leave everyone in the hotel room even if you get eliminated? - Maybe. - Oh. - Especially because they announced the cast they shouldn't have done that because now, yeah, everyone's like. - Looking at Whitney's activity. - Who's commenting on Instagram? - It's true. - Yeah, so I feel like they must have sequestered them. - Damn. - So the secret charm southern files, what's that called? - Yes, oh, it's not Whitney because Whitney's the one who brings it up. - And also, Whitney's not a major player. He's never gonna be the guy with a secret love child 'cause he's like the producer of the show. - No, but he would be the guy.
- Oh, by the way, he has multiple love children, but it's never gonna be discussed on the show. - Yeah, so it could really only be Austin. Oh, this isn't as fun, but it could be that new guy, yeah, with the, what's his name? Yeah, and now it's like sort of like itching something in my brain. I feel like I've seen that before. - It's very low stakes, like I don't care about the new guys love child. I care deeply about like Shep or Austin or Craig having. - Winner is his name. - I mean, it's nothing to me, but I hope you're paying child support. I just hope it's one of the big doubts. - Yeah, right, it's not going to be, 'cause that would not have been kept under wraps. - No, not at all. - If Shep had a seeker child, it's totally Winner. - Well, those are the past five, and you really only need to know the third one. Let's take into dear toasters our weekly advice segment, where like we said, you guys have done so much for us with our data that we wanna help you guys out. If you ever are looking for advice from us, you see us, you see, look, those girls have got it together. I would love to know what they think of my personal issue that I'm having at work or at home. Right to us, dear
[email protected] or head over to our website, thetoastpodcast.com. There's a submission box that says to your toasters, and they're both anonymous, so don't worry, we'll never put your shit on blast. - You can write about anything. Today we have some hygiene issues, some core of sexual issues, 'cause we're sort of like sex experts. - Examples. - Yeah, the way that Jay Shetty has encroached on call her daddy for the interview itself, we've definitely taken over the sex element. - Yeah, the sexy, what's your favorite position? C-E-O. (laughs) - Okay, this one's very low stakes, and I feel like we can actually give her like really tangible advice. One of my best girlfriends has really, really, really bad breath. Like, we've been friends for so long, and it's just been too long now to be like, "Girl, your breath stings." But she's in the dating scene, we feel like this is really holding her back because guys are always like, what the fuck? No one really replies back to her after a date. I know we sound like mean girls, but she really is our friend, and she's really cute and has potential. What do we do? We just can't bring it up in a casual way. Help, love you so really quick. - That's so awkward. - I know, and I feel like I've experienced like friends with like smelly issues, like when we were kids, you know, 'cause we're all learning about our bodies, and I just feel like at your big age, like how do you not know your breath smells? - And not know that it is repelling other people. - I know when I have bad breath, 'cause I could see the person in front of me like wins, and I'm like, oh, really? - Yeah, of course, I'm very aware of my breath. - Yeah, I also, like, you need to be self-aware. - I know, so I wanna blame the girl, but the person writing it is asking for actual help, like tell her. - I feel like you think, like one of you just tells her, but if you make it like a huge deal. - I'm not on this note. - No, that's so mean. - I know, but like, she has to know, because I feel like she's probably down on herself. No guys are replying back to her, or she goes on a date and she doesn't hear back. Like, she's probably being so hard on herself, to find out that it's just your breath, like you're doing her such a big favor. - Probably not just her breath. - Well, I'm glad today's sponsor is Smartmouth, because you can get her a gift basket. - Yeah, also, just like before she goes on a date like, be like-- - Breath spread. - Yeah, breath check, just make it like a part of the routine. Try that, do it casually. - Yeah, but check your breath before a date, like by the time it's time to kiss, like your breath stinks again. - Yeah, well then just be like, okay, and make sure like you're using breath spread, like try and do it casually, and then if she doesn't get the clue. - But also like it could be a medical issue, so like you might wanna actually really tell her about it. I don't know if you can taste when you have bad breath, but I imagine if you have like such a chronic issue, like your mouth always tastes the same, and you wouldn't know like what's good and what's bad. - I'm just fan of like being direct. You're saving her a lot of time in heartache, and like yeah, maybe she'll be embarrassed at her breath smells, but she probably now is feeling down on herself for so many other worse things. Like no guy's interested in her, that's very debilitating to yourself. - Yeah, like next time she's on a date, just be like, just make sure your breath is in check, you know? - Maybe if you say it enough time, she'll be like, maybe I do have bad breath in everyone's just like screwing around the issue. - Yeah. - But you gotta tell her, that's not being a good friend. And I don't think it's mean. Okay, this is like kind of. Markey. - Hi. - He's Marley's. - Markey, I'm in the cousin. - Real talk. No, am I a terrible person, or is there a double standard for women here? I recently fall at heart. - I mean, that's true. - Fall in heart into smut. For those who don't know, smut is, you know, literature, books that are sexual in nature. They are, you know, plot driven, but really, they have a lot of sex scenes. I usually save it for a bedtime, but plot twist, I'm a mom of three, and sometimes those spicy pages just call my name while the kids are still bouncing around the house. So now I'm spiraling. Is it weird to be reading steamy scenes with little kids nearby? I keep thinking about that one dear toaster's letter where the husband was watching porn while holding the baby, while holding his baby daughter. I know it's not the same situation at all, but theic factor really just ticks with me. Am I overthinking this into oblivion, or should I just lock the smut away for a true alone time only? Help a girl out, you guys are the best. Sincerely, a toaster. - So it's not the same as your husband watching porn and holding me? - Not even close, so just so you know, like you can back away from that. - But stop. - Yes, yes. There's nothing like a legal going on here. And I would say your husband watching porn while holding your baby like borders on a legality. Not doing anything illegal. And like smut is this sort of weird medium where it's like literature but pornographic. - When like sometimes what you're reading is just a cute convo between two, you know, - Best girlfriend. - That's girlfriend. Like not all of it is sex all the time, but it's just like weird vibe. - Yeah, I agree, put it away. You can read other things, and I have found like smut is often a gateway to like reading other books, like what you could start off reading smut. And then next to you know, you're reading demon copperhead. Like so I think it gets you into reading. So like why don't you try like daytime reading and nighttime reading, like read it, you know, nourish your mind during the day, but your body at night. - Yeah, yeah. And also it's always a good time to like level up what you're reading. - Literally. - And so if you wanna be reading while your kids play 'cause that's just like a nice bounce for you, just read other stuff. - Might I recommend demon copperhead by Beverly King's Oliver, 'cause I read it. And also you can read like, I don't know what kind of smut books you're reading, but there are different degrees. - I mean, by the way, sorry, I didn't read this part, but she did say like every single fallin' into smut, and she said in captions, this my seer, the better. No shame. So she's like a smut head. - Okay, 'cause there are like, you know, romance books that have like two scenes in the whole book. - Correct. - And it wouldn't call that like smut. - Correct. - But then there are other books that. - Every page. It's like a long pornography. Yeah. So I'm getting the vibe that you're doing the ladder, in which I would also say to stop. - If it was the first kind, like yeah, anything is just like, you know, plot stuff. - Yeah, it's like, oh, you'd be my fake boyfriend. - I mean, if you have to ask, like, you know it's wrong. - It's true. It's true. But it is intoxicating, that's my, I get it. Third and final. Hey Jackson Claude, I have a weird mama question for you that you may be able to relate to. My son just started school, and there is this kid with famous parents in his class. I'm talking, I spoke this person's movies and their shows regularly. Our kids are really vibing together, and I want to be a friend of the parents so we can have a play date outside of school. But I don't want to be a total weirdo as if I'm trying, you know, so hard to hang out with them. To my acknowledge that I know them, pretend I don't know them, shut up, or just like not try to say anything and never drink a sip of alcohol in front of them ever again. SOS, a star-struck toaster who's also just trying to be like a semi-normal cool mom. - So I think that you should definitely approach your play date 'cause if they're really getting along, like, - It's so normal to do that. - That's what you would do. And so how would you do it with a regular person, you know, like whatever, just act like they're regular, what would you say to any other person and say that to them? And when you're texting and planning, like, you have no idea. - No. - You say, "Who's Jasper's mom in the family?" And like right in the, I mean, like Madison wants a play date or whatever. - Yeah. - The way you would to any other mom in the class. - And then once you get there, still be cool. But I think like pretend, if this person is so famous pretending that you don't know them, actually makes you look weird. - And if like the work comes up or whatever, just be like, yeah, of course, like just be cool. Like, of course you know them, you don't live under a rock, but you're not salivating. - I mean, a lot of people, both as like a mom, but also just like us as swirly, who are toasters. And to me, it's not weird at all, unless you make it weird. Like if you say like, "Oh my God, I was cracking up "at that clip you guys posted," thanks. Like, yeah, yes, I am a podcaster and I'm on the Golden Globes, it's like, it's not a big deal. Pretending you don't know, when I know you do, that's weird. - Yeah, no, and then also sometimes people like, you know, address it and they go about it really badly. - Yes, just be normal. - So like all outcomes, but yeah, most of the time, especially with us, it's like a little different because we're so famous, of course. But my, my thinking is always like, if I wasn't a toaster, I would listen to the toaster, so like, and yeah, who listens to the toaster? Yeah, we have a. - If someone I would be friends with, that's more than someone who doesn't listen. - Of course, what would I talk to? If you don't listen to the toaster, we do not have the similar interests at all. We're not really good friends. - So for me, it's like, it's not like a red flag, or anything, because it's like, yeah, of course. - It's more about how you behave. - Yeah. - So just be cool. - Keep it in your pants, don't act like you don't know them, and just act, say and do whatever you would do if it was any other parent. But definitely go for the play day, 'cause like, your kids are vibing. - That's your Golden Globe, almost nominated show. - Could be, might be. - Thank you guys so much for listening to me. We adore you, almost see you on the next one. - Love you, bye.
