Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the debut episode on the debut channel of the debut league. The T's and P's, Guillotine league, my name is Tony Squares, and I am joined by the man who brought me into this fantasy football world led me all the way, maybe dragged me all the way to second place in his fantasy show, so you think you can tout and now is stuck with me for the foreseeable future because we not only have a show together, Mr. Peter Rovers, but we are running co-commissioning a big time money, Guillotine league with a lot of people including some of you watching right now. I'm pumped, man, I'm pumped to get this thing going, Peter. Yeah, and if people watch the finale of, so you think you can tout, this was your pitch to me, the show to do and even though you didn't end up winning technically, I said, hey, this is an awesome idea. I love Guillotine. I think you and I can put on an awesome league. We got some contacts from, so you think you can tout, I got some friends and family. We got some former champs. I say, let's put that all into one big stew and make a super fun Guillotine league for people to follow along. All season, we'll be doing a live stream on my channel and this channel on Monday mornings, Tony's going to be mixing in some other strategy videos. We are going to both cover Guillotine strategy as well as this league and who's getting the chop and who's getting these prizes. And we're going to go through today all the personalities that are in this league. We do have three open spots for user submissions. We're going to go through some submission videos we already have. Until September 1st and we'll tell you how to submit your chance to join this league before we reveal who is actually in it. But mostly Peter, I mean, I don't know what your goal is about this channel, about this about this league. But my goal truly is to pull off at the beginning of what I said in my pitch. I want to make Guillotine leagues as popular and the main way you do your read draft league at home. It is the best way to play fantasy football in my opinion. If you're in a read draft league and I think everyone should be playing this type of a format because it is so much fun when your friend is the first one kicked out of the league. I don't know if you've ever been first out in Guillotine league. I thankfully knock on wood. I'm hoping it's not happening this year to me because it'd be tough to host this show if I'm kicked out week one. Yeah. I mean, it really is my favorite way to play read draft fantasy. I am, of course, the best ball, bro. I love that. But in season, the regular waiver wire run in typical leagues, I got burned out on it one because it can be a grind in two because by week 10, week 11, you are digging the bottom of the barrel. We're talking wide receiver sixes. We're talking running back threes just anyone with a pulse in Guillotine with one team being removed each week in their players replenishing the waiver wire. There are constantly big names because even bad teams who get acts, they have a Josh Allen. They have a wide receiver one. They have maybe a really high profile player who's just injured right now. And so every single week you go to look at the waiver wire and instead of being demoralized you're like, holy hell, I can bid on CD lamb right now. That makes it the best. It is the best. And throughout the season, we will be going through how to manage your fab budget throughout the season. Start, sit advice that Monday morning show that me and Peter are going to do on his channel is going to be a blast going through that Monday night sweat that every one of us is going to be doing each and every week. And then I'm going to be hosting a few things on this T's and P's Guillotine League channel during the week to break down the matchups ahead. Go through start, sit advice because as you said, as we get later and later into the year, you're not deciding about which backup running back to start. You're deciding between the studs. It becomes an eight team league, a six team league, a four team league at the end, burning it all the way to the ground. And it gets really, really dicey when you have to decide a very thin line, very thin line of margin. But what's the farthest you've ever made it in a guillotine league, Peter? I've made it to the finals. I've been playing now for, I want to say, four years now, obviously, over the past two years, fantasy life acquired the guillotine league brand and have revamped things. The site is awesome. And so I've been ramping up how many leagues I played for a few years. It was just one league, you know, get my feet wet. And now this year, I'm going to end up in four or five leagues, probably. And it's once you go guillotine, it is really hard to go back. And I do think, like you said, there are some really big strategic differences to how you approach this league than a regular league because it really is front-loaded. You know, a lot of times, especially in basketball and some of these other tournaments, I'm trying to build the best possible team for week 15, week 16. In these, I'm looking at the schedule, weeks one through four, I'm looking at team totals, I'm looking at early buys. All I care about is a fast start because I know I can patch up holes, I can, you know, rejuvenate my team via the waiver wire later. Now you are in, we're going to get into this later, but you are in a current guillotine league slow draft right now. So we're going to pull up that board and kind of go through some experts in that league and what they're trying to do and build where their individual league is because there are a lot of tactics you can take. And even in the submission videos that we're going to watch in a little bit here, I've watched a few of them. I'm excited to show you some of these people that are submitting for our league because they're coming out with their strategies and with how they want to attack this league because X, Y and Z and it's interesting to see how everyone touches this thing because I know I have my sort of three rules of how to go into a guillotine league and we'll have a draft strategy episode in the coming weeks here, but it's exciting to see how everyone attacks this thing because we know the zero RB strategy or the hero RB strategy and stuff with guillotine leagues. You have to sort of go completely off the grid and say like, Hey, there's 18 teams at the start. I need to grab a tight end because I don't want to be stuck with. I don't know. Kenyan Sedique is my number one guy heading into week a week one. There's so many different ways you can dive into it and I'm excited to see mostly the people we have in this league, how they're going to attack it because we do have some best ballbrows in this league. We also have some so you think you can tout personalities in this league. It's going to be interesting to see how these different, different minds come to the guillotine stratosphere, Peter. We went through your role at Dex, though, who's, who's some of the people that were bringing it as you can see on screen right now that you're most excited about. Yeah. And for people who aren't familiar, the guillotine leagues are by design a bigger league. Typically, you're doing what? 10 to 12 people in a league. These guillotine leagues are 18 and that's very intentional because we're trying to get to a single champ in week 17 with one team being axed each and every week. So it's actually really fun for putting together a league because when you're like, man, 12 people, we're going to have to make some tough cuts here, but with 18, we had a lot to play with obviously myself and you here as the commission. And as far as the friends and family, we'll all let you talk about the tout participants here. I had to get my guy, Nez from the badge, bros, I did invite John as well, but he's going to a wedding. I want to say the night of the draft, and he says, Hey, I'm out, but Nez will be here rocking with us. Of course, my guy, Davis, Maddick, everybody knows Davis. He plays in all kinds of formats. So he will be right at home here and a man you are intimately familiar with, perhaps two months, David. Yeah, I like it. Not a big fan. Not a big fan of this edition, nothing against kitchen. He's a great dude. I regret every second I've spent with him so far in my life. And so I'm a little bit worried that it's going to continue. Could he be my mush? Like everyone has one. Everyone has that one guy that every time you're with him, the bachelor party's great. The night out is great. And then there's that other guy in the friend group that no matter what happens, it doesn't survive well. And that could be me and kitchen Peter. If kitchen, if I'm out week one, you know I'm blaming it on kitchen. And that's, that was very intentional on, on my part because I knew he would immediately throw you off your game. So yeah, kitchen in there, Mike's a carry in people know him. He was hosting the about the touts does a ton of NBA content. One of my best buds here had to get him in the league, Kootardoodle. The fabulous Kootardoodle, the funniest woman in fantasy, the funniest person in fantasy, excited to have her in the league. She brings the heat in all of her leagues. And you know, somebody's got to draft New Orleans Saints if we're going to do this, right? She is, I've followed her for a long time well before I even knew the world of fantasy life. She is so f'ing funny and dry in my slice of humor. It's going to be scary to see her in this league and have her go far because if I have to, like if we're on a stream together, as we're going to be interviewing these players as they're on the chop, she's going to make me laugh my guts out. And I'm a little bit worried that she's going to be really good at this. I hope she lasts longer than the other four people that you just mentioned because I want to see Kootardoodle succeed. But out of those five, Peter, if you had to put odds on it, if you had to put somewhat someone's scaring you to winning this league, which one of those five do you think has the best chance to last the longest? So I, Nez is the player there that I think his combination of fantasy acumen, he's, he's a sicko grinder, like he doesn't do anything half-ass. Like when he locks in, he locks in. And also the way Nez builds his teams, he has historically been kind of a running back heavy drafter. He drafts a ton in the eliminator formats on underdog, which are they're not the exact same as a guillotine link, but similar concept of you got to survive out of the gate. You got to build a team. He's very well versed in that format. I think he's going to be ready to cook in this league. Yeah. I am no offense to Davis Matic. I am not scared of Davis Matic in this type of a format because that man has been pulling up so many end of the roster players and best ball, bro, I just think it's going to be natural for him to click a Terence Ferguson and then Terence Ferguson plays a five snaps in week one. And he's out already. Like, I love Davis. He's an awesome dude. I think he's going to fail in this format. I love it. Yeah. So there you go, Davis. There's some bulletin board material for you. Two other people I got a shout out here. This league, a version of this, I've hosted it with deposit kingdom, YouTube members, two previous years. And I had to get the defending champs. One of them is a so you think you can tout familiar place, blizzy and then Steph Miller. She's an absolute crusher. She runs all of our waivers over at ship chasing high stakes waiver.
with literally tens of thousands of dollars on the line. We entrust her with those teams and she won this league last year. She and Blizzy have to be heavy favorites, both the proven track record and how seriously they're going to take this. Yeah, Blizzy scares me. I don't know Steph Miller too well, but she's already following me and calling me out on Twitter about it. So she's ready to play. And Blizzy on the other hand, man, I like that guy a lot. I thought he went out too early in the so you think you can tell competition. So I'm excited to see him play here. And also he might throw out an odds board out there. Now that he's got the word, not that we're having him in here for that reason, but I will say with the some of the submission videos, I do want to go through those in a little bit. There are some that I'm leaning towards because what else they could bring to this league other than being just a participant. And then at the end, the last team on this list, the editing team, we had to have those guys on here. Yeah, Zach and Lou, they're going to be making content about the league as we go. And also, the call is going to be coming from inside the house. So they are going to be playing. We'll see what those two team up, how they're kind of working relationship plays out in this league. Do you think they can agree on their waiver wire decisions? Or do they have a lot of late nights ahead of them? They might have a lot of I think one of them is going to take the reins. And I don't know if that's good for the tag team relationship. One of them's going to be sort of the in front of the team. But I'm worried that the little shorts that they make and a little clips are going to be very editing team heavy. And sometimes very wise. Sometimes you got to throw a bone or the other people, maybe the guys on camera, but that's just me, that's just me talking. Peter, I think we're bearing the lead a little bit because we do have some so you think you can tell participants joining this league. We had five spots for them. It was very difficult to decide what five spots should be given here. The first one had to go to Alex cups, the defending champion of season one of so you think you can tout. And I put him in here because I need to defeat cups at something. Cups has won the championship of so you think you can tell he got the job at fantasy life. If he gets to be on the Peter Overs that he got the site credits, he has the perfect smile, the perfect physique, the perfect house, the perfect wife, the perfect job I need to have him die quickly in this league, Peter. That is my soul. Hey, that's right. I mean, who do you need to die quicker? David kitchen or Alex cups? Who brings you more pain and agony when you see their name? Cups 100%. I see cups all the time. Now I'm streaming with them constantly. We're texting each other. He is on the golf course as we speak. That man, all he does is golf. And I'm ready for him to go out week one so I can hold something over him. I have nothing over him. And I just want one thing, Peter. I just need one. I will say I'm with you in that now the golfing stuff is really starting to piss me off. I really enjoy golf. I've played nine holes in the past two summers because I'm busy and I have a child. And this guy out here, I'm like, we are in the heart of fantasy season and you're doing like a tour across America of just drinking and playing golf. Like what the fuck is going on? He lives, he lives a wonderful life. But I hate him. But he's the best part is like he's a good guy. Like you can't hate him. But I, I'm trying so hard to hate him. And so because cups is in here, uh, Rambus would have felt really, really depressed if we left him out. So we have the full ship analytics team in here. Kurt Rambus exterminating bugs by day, trying to survive the chop by night. Rambus has no idea what a guillotine league is, which is also why I brought him in here. I need him to experience this because I think he's going to love it. And I just, you know, sometimes we need a little bit of flavor and ramby brings the flavor. Uh, we also need someone to take ash and genty way too high, especially like we need this draft to occur before we get a concrete injury timeline on genty because I'll tell you right now, he's willing, if he was willing to draft him at 101 pre injury and now they're like, he still might be back week one. He might just move him back to 105 and we need that to happen in this league. We do. He also has been a heavy Josh Jacobs drafter in the past. If you watch any of his dreams, so ramby's team, ramby's team is either going to succeed and beat us all. He'll never have to make a free agency move or he's going to be out very, very early and he'll be very mad. I'm excited to make him mad. A man that I don't think we can make mad and a man that I wanted to see more of. And so you think you can tell, but a, uh, uh, poorly timed trip across the sea took Chad candles down. And so you think you can tell before you could get rolling. And I talk about a nice dude, Chad candles is the mister Rogers of fantasy football. And I'm ready to see what happens when all that stripped away. And he has to fight for his life. I'm pumped that Chad candles is in this league. I would say similar to Nez, a guy who does a ton of eliminator drafts. And we got to give Kurt some credit to because he does a lot of eliminator as well. So hopefully that'll transfer over. But Chad really sharp fantasy footballer again, kind of like Nez has played a ton of different formats. And yeah, this is his chance to avenge that trip to Stonehenge that, you know, ended up bouncing him out of the contest. Do you think he has any trips abroad in this fall because he does travel a lot. He might just tell his wife, his family, hey, can't do any trips. It really sunk me last time. He did bring up a trip. He did bring up what I asked him. Oh, no. What I asked him, Hey, do you want to do this league? And are you free for this date for the draft? I remember he did bring up a trip. I think it's at the end of November. I'm pretty positive. He's doing something. So let's just chop it by then. Let's just get him then speaking of the chop. We again, Chad Candles, cops, even Rambus are dead set fantasy football bros. They're going to be sharp. We listed a bunch of people who are sharp. So we had to weaken the field and bring in Zach McDonald. The man who's so you think you can tell personality was centered around. He has never won a fantasy football league. I do want to show Zach submission video when we get there because I had these touts make their submission videos as well to tell us why they're going to avoid the chop and Zach. My guy, he is ready to play like this whole like, Oh, I'm an easy. I'm an easy out. I've never won. That's gone. My dude has been grinding and I'm ready for Zach to point out. Can't wait. Well, yeah, let's get to those videos in a second. And the last one here, goofy chicken is well, another man who I think in a different reality could have made a super deep run. And so you think you can tell I just did a stream with him the other day, always bringing the knowledge super fun to clock with, I should say, how should we view goofy chicken in this contest? I'm, I'm genuinely out of the five. The reason why I ended with goofy is I loved goofy and so you think you can tell it, I'm the most scared of goofy out of these five in the person I need to beat in this challenge. I think goofy knows his stuff. I think goofy will be on top of it. I also think he's kind of new to the guillotine world as well and will kind of eat up this, this, this way of playing fantasy football. I'm scared of goofy chicken. Yes, I am as well. He's hungry. He's ready to get in the mix. He's going to be a threat. We should also say, just a reminder, this is a new channel. Please subscribe here. Should you have your head at the end of this season? Peter, you want to go through the prize bracket here as we have the graphic up because this is a pretty penny. Yeah, so we're going to have a $2,000 is absolutely guaranteed. First place is going to get $1,500. Second place is going to get $500. But then I said, let's spice this up. They're going to everybody's going to think, Tony and I coming in here, big swing and dicks, the big favorites. We're going to put our money where our mouth is. And I said, you know what? Let's put a bounty for every week remaining after our elimination. So when Tony and I meet in the finals, no extra money is actually going to be added to that could be a bummer. It might be a side bot, but no bounty. Maybe, maybe. But there's the potential for an extra $1,550 to be added to the prize pool because if one of us, God forbid, were to get bounced in week one, $800 added to the prize pool. That's 16 weeks times 50. If you got bounced in week two, we can't both get bounced in the same week. So one of us will at least make it to week two. That would be another $750 added. So people are going to want to come after us because that money is going to get redistributed among the remaining participants. So they kind of want us to go out as early as possible. And then they can all get a nice little stimulus there at the beginning of the year. Nice little bonus. And I do think adding the bounty because I mean, my biggest strike in the entire so you think you can tout universe through that entire run, the comment section, the toxic towers. So to speak was saying Tony squares doesn't know ball. What better way to prove it than to put a bounty on my head in this guillotine league if I truly don't know ball. More money is given to the league itself. And again, there are still three spots in this league. If you do want to join the first step, you have to do is Peter said is subscribe to the YouTube channel. But we are going to ask you to make a submission video as well. I don't know if Peter has a slide for how to do that before we go through the submissions. Of course he does. Peter has everything. Yeah. I just felt like I had a flashback to when we were doing the PowerPoint karaoke. And you're like, are you going to go to the next slide here? Yes, exactly. champion to be eligible. And then we need you to send in a submission video. I mean, the entire show you think you can tout competition kicked off with people sending in submission videos. All you have to do is say, my name is, and I will avoid the chop because you can be as creative with this as you want. This isn't a true serum, gotcha moment where I need to make sure you understand true serum. Just tell us, uh, basically we're looking for entertainment. What would you bring to the league that no one else can bring? I think would be a good way to kind of frame that. Then you can send your video either via email, TP,

Basically post it socially somewhere and then also email it to us. That's the best way to ensure we don't miss it. And I'm excited. We've gotten a lot of great submissions so far. We're going to highlight a couple of them in a second here. And I don't know Peter how you want to decide who makes this league because what are you looking for? Put it that way. What do you, I know with so you think you can tell you kind of had a mindset eventually I'm going to have to work with this person. But when it comes to this league, you trying to weaken the field and try to get people you think you can step over. You're trying to make the field better. You're trying to get personalities to help the show out. Like what are you looking out of these submissions personally? I think the, the three things I would say I'm looking for is I want someone who's entertaining that's going to bring some kind of passion to this league, you know, be fun in the group chat, etc. I'm looking at someone who's going to be dialed in. Like I don't want this to be some league that's just like the 19th thing you get to. I want this to be your league. Like I know we all have the one home league we care about. I want this to be an opportunity for you to take us out and you put everything you have into it. And then I think the third thing I would want is someone who also wants to make content about the league, whether that's trash talk, you know, one of the things and so you think you can tell, love getting the confessionals from all of the contestants. If you are ready to make content about this league, that's going to give you a leg up on the other submissions. No, I agree. I think the best ability is availability. And if they have the opportunity to to aid us in this league in any capacity and really give it their all, then I that's what I want. We're already seeing that. The some of the submission videos, Peter, when do you want to dive into a few of these here? Because I do think we have three spots open. So I think we can equally take a person that we love and then maybe combine on the third person. But I don't know how you want to divvy it up here. A few of the submissions right off the bat. There's there's a couple of winners, a couple of not so much winners, and a couple of familiar faces as well, Peter. Yeah. And so this is a fun thing where you've reviewed these. This is my first time seeing them. Now there are familiar faces here. Like I know a lot of these faces. I don't know what they're about to say in what they're going to make their case. When I'm not setting my lineups, grinding the waiver wire, setting my draft strategy, I'm playing and hosting online reality games. I was crown season five champion of fantasy football survivor and even host my own online reality game called fantasy fantasy football. And yeah, I saw so you think you could tell our internal team gave it a 7.1. But this this idea, the guillotine leak, this I really like. And I'm going to avoid the chop this season because I have always been very good at playing the middle. So we're going to mine our T's and P's. Well, that's that was my entire question because if we work under the assumption that his last name is the shoe, is this his calling card in anything in life? Like he walks into the party. Everyone's like, shoo, shoo, shoo. And he like takes off the shoe grabs the closest beer. Is this his party trick that he always has to do? Or was this a really special one off thing just for us? I don't know if it was a one off thing, but I do know we're trying to figure out fantasy football punishments in one of my leagues. That would have been a punishment. Like I he does that on his own. Like he likes that. He enjoys it. You know what's the real punishment, though? Like I think I could have the stomach to drink a beer out of my own shoe, but someone else is shoe Tony. I am not drinking at a beer out of your shoe. I'll tell you that much. Chance. I wouldn't want you to, Peter. I wouldn't want I wouldn't be able to look into the eyes the next day. Like I would know something about you that no one else should know. I don't want. I don't want that. But hey, fantastic submission video has me asking so many questions. I want to see more. He knows how to deliver to camera. I'm I'm a big fan of the show, big fan of the show. I will also say, Ian Lawler, who I really liked and so you think you can tout does deliver a fantastic a reason to be on this in this league. And also when we're talking to why we want people on this league at the end of the video, you can see what he does. And I have a selfish reason why I might pick him, but feel free to play Ian's. I will avoid the chop because I was born for guillotine leagues. They're not about sealing they're about floor. They're about laying low and coasting. And while it's official that I may not be able to tout what I can do is coast. Realistically, all I have to do is just comfortably sit sequestered in the center of the field. And I'm guaranteed victory. I know there are a lot of serious competitors. Kuderdoodle, she's wonderful, but let's be honest, she's probably going to have five Saints on her team. So as soon as they hit their by-week, she's out of here. David's Maddick, one of the best, but he's going to draft Terrence Ferguson and Keaton Mitchell about eight rounds ahead of ADP. Plus he may even draft Raheem Blackshear again. So he's done. And generally speaking, everybody is going to be shooting for upside because that's what they're trained to do, but I'm going to make the galaxy-brained move of being aggressively mediocre. And you know, Pete made sure that you didn't have to face me the last time around, but not even the great Peter Oversek can save you this time because the chop is coming. I even brought my ex. Chop chop. Peter, you know what any good podcast needs is an intro song. And I'm just saying, if he enjoys the league, I think that's an automatic intro song. That's the selfish guy in me that sees a submission and say, what can he do for me? You know what I like that he learned because I was begging this guy throughout the so you think you can tell when we were getting to know him in submission and every time I'm like, where's the guitar? He's a professional guitar player. I need to see the guitar. It was check-offs guitar. And every time he was on my screen, he didn't have the guitar. Ian might be aiming for mediocrity, but he's at least listening because God damn it, there's the guitar. Finally, it took him a few months, but he got it out there, baby. He got it out there. There was one new face that I had never seen before and it's a nice short and sweet interview. He does have a Yankees cap on, which does give him minus points for me, but you might like it. You might like him. It's a quick one though. Chris Riley is his name. So I will say, I know Chris Riley because he has been a frequent guest on the basketball bash. That's a show I do where YouTube members can toss their name in the hat. If I pull it, they come on and draft with me. So I've drafted with Chris a few times, but I have not seen this submission video here. So let's see what Chris is cooking up. Riley, and I'm going to avoid. My name is Chris Riley, and I'm going to avoid the blade because I shaved my head once a week. It's actually kind of long right now. So I'm pretty comfortable with blades near my head. I don't think this one's going to be a problem. Wait a second. It is, but does it logically make sense? He says he's going to avoid the blade, but then admits that he doesn't avoid the blade every single week. Is it someone with long hair? The one who avoids the blade, Tony? You know, I haven't thought of it that way. I thought more of he has is accustomed to blades. And the fact that he uses the blade regularly but has not chopped his own neck off is probably a good thing to avoid said blade. Anyone else here, I need to watch. Well, I'm torn between two. Obviously a few of them, the names we are familiar, the faces we are familiar, but both Sam Johnson and Matt are both early submissions that stood out to me. Sam because he comes in with a strategy and Matt because he might be the one of the biggest dynasty nerds I've ever seen in a good way, non-derogatory. So yeah, those two in particular intrigue me, not saying their submission videos are electric, but they did intrigue me. All right, let's check out Sam Johnson. I'm not familiar with Sam here. So this is my introduction. I do see a car seat in the back. I like that relatable father. My name is Sam Johnson and I will be avoiding the chop this year because of two simple words, floor, maxor. Sounds like this league is a bunch of best ball bros with their week 17s in there. That sounds familiar, Tony. Homeroom swings in the draft. No, this is all about projectible volume, safe floor. If you had a neat tweak in July, off my board, if you sneeze too hard, bring mini camp and had a miss a series off my board. If you have a lingering injury from last year or maybe have a lingering injury off my board, if you have a shred of legal documents against you, you know, whether that be parking tickets, J-walking, anything, burlery, domestic dispute, off my board. I spent like five minutes running down some names. There's 24 names in the first 10 or so rounds. They're going to get picked. None of them by me. I am all about floor, maxing, which is why I will be avoiding the chop. It's a solid reason. To me, it's a little scary because he clearly understands the format. It's almost like the Ian Lawler. I'm going to be aggressively mediocre to my own success, but with no guitar. That's that's my concern here with this. You know what he does have that's also scary is that pocket-sized yellow legal pad. I've never met anyone with a yellow legal pad that I've enjoyed. No offense. I'm sure he's a great guy, but like those things, you see that in an old timey detective novel and yet that guy carries that around for life. Maybe he's a journalist. I'm not sure, but he did not just pull that from his desk. He's in his car. That's that's reachable whenever he is around. So a little bit worried about that guy. I do like the idea of people similar to the Miami Dolphins. They pop the champagne whenever another team doesn't go undefeated. Like the idea of being that guy in this league like every week when someone else goes down and you still are alive and he's just crossing them off the list there. It's very serial killer ask, but I like the energy. It is also the camera angle serial killer ask. It's all given serial killer vibes, but yeah, those are those are probably the top performers from the submission videos from the from the outside. We do have a couple of submission videos from the touts, which I made them all record for us and some of them. It's it's right up there, Ali. So I'm going to cut those together and make a little short for the page with all the best moments. But again, those five guys happy they're in there because as soon as you press play on their videos, you see why they made it far and so you think you can tout. It's an electric factory no matter which one you choose. So I'm fine. And of course, cups is on a friggin golf course because that's cups, but he still did it. He's still sent it in. Do you want it? Are there any of those? If we had to watch one from the touts here, who should we watch? Either Goofy or Zach. I'll let you choose because both of them are coming in hot and Zach again, we're seeing Zach 2.0. Yeah, you said Zach. I haven't seen Zach much. I mean, I see him pop up on my social videos, but I haven't talked to him since the show in a while. So I want to see what Zach's up to here. Yeah. Yeah. Oh boy, he looks mad. He looks pissed. Oh, I avoid being chopped. Listen, I put disrespect on my own name. I put disrespect on the country of Canada by not showing my fantasy expertise through the so you think real quick. How do you think he's feeling about Lake America right now? I was going to say, yeah, we got to start calling them Zach America. I'm sure that won't sit well with him. You can tell competition. So this year, I'm foregoing everything in the sink of this competition of this guillotine league. I'm out here studying the offensive lines. I'm studying the running skis. I'm studying the new play colors. I will not be chopped because I need I feel like he can't even sit with a straight face like is he studying the new play colors because he's almost laughing at the thought of studying the new play colors. Do we need to quiz him on the new play colors before the season begins? Yeah, I feel like he knows about Mike McDaniel, but definitely doesn't know about Sean Manion. Let's see the rest that's to bring honor back to the great country of Canada. So watch out in this guillotine competition because we're coming for you. Canadian style. 150 kilometers an hour, baby. That was like an SNL skit where he was about to break every single line delivery there. That's the Zach I wanted to see. I was I was over the Zach coming in all depressed and how he's never won and he's going to give it the old college try. I want Zach to come out from I want Zach draped in the Maple Leaf flag like I want him to go crazy for Canada in this guillotine league. He takes it home and we have to I don't know if they these dollars and bounties go through customs when we send them to them in Canada, but I would like Zach to do well in this league. I'm rooting for him. Yes, we got a nice cast of characters here and you said if people want to see these, you're going to maybe stitch some of these up into a couple of shorts here. Oh yeah, we're going to make these a couple of shorts, especially the winning ones. Again, you still have time to send in those submission videos. Submissions close on September 1st because the draft is coming up on September 4th. We will have a live draft show. Maybe a couple of the touts will be appearing. Probably not cups. He'll be at the end of the 18th round and join a few brews. But maybe a couple of the other touts will be appearing to talk about what they plan to do during said draft. But as we said, Peter, you are in a guillotine draft right now. A slow draft going. It's with the fantasy life group. Is that correct? That's correct. We have a special league here going on. It is called what is it? The supreme champion of fantasy life. We are doing it as a slow draft. Kind of a disaster to try to find a date that everybody within the company could do. Although why don't we just do it on company time? I mean, that seems like that would have been a good suggestion there. Let me get it pulled up here so we can see because I wanted to show you guys, I'm through two rounds here. I've made two picks and I think it would be interesting to see what some heavy hitters are doing. Maybe talk a little early strategy for how we want to approach these. I'll tell you my two picks here and I'll get your thoughts. I can kind of explain my rationale. But I started with Derek Henry at 111 and I came back a few eight with Javante Williams on the Dallas Cowboys. Any thoughts on those there? Right off the top, man. Derek Henry, when we talk about breaking down draft strategies in guillotine, you're talking about high floors. I'm also looking as we set at the very beginning at the early matchups. And there might not be a better team in the NFL that has an early week one through five slate than the Baltimore Ravens. And whether that's Lamar, Zey flowers, Derek Henry, I really am going to be shooting for Ravens in my guillotine league drafts because of that early just lift off. And last season, I remember the stack of Warren sharp road love because it's buried in my brain. They were the first team in NFL history to have a losing record after scoring 111 points in the first three games. This team came out on fire last season. Lamar Jackson was the best quarterback in the world when everyone was healthy. They're healthy to start this season. Knock on wood. I think it's going to be I love that pick at Derek Henry. Is that is that kind of why you went with him over the other running backs that were there? For sure. And it is like you look in the applet at the default ADP, which again, I think a lot of people kind of base their drafts off of there's this kind of appealing to ADP. He was much further down in the applet than this. But exact I feel like with Derek Henry, you get to have your cake and eat it too because not only does he have that incredible early season schedule, you mentioned his buy isn't until week 13. So you get the fast start. And then you don't take any zeros in just to give you it to to re emphasize how good the schedule is. These are their implied totals for how many points Vegas thinks they're going to score week one 26 and a half at Indiana week two 27 vs New Orleans week three 27 and a half at Dallas week four 28 vs Tennessee, probably one of the easiest matchups there. I think I don't want to get out on my skis, but I think you can make the case that you could take him much higher than even where I did. I think it's a slam dunk. I really do think it's a slam dunk. Now you also went double RB off the top. That is definitely a strategy that a lot of people employ in an 18 team league because there aren't 34, 36 starting running backs in the league. Is that what led you to take Javante versus I mean, I see Brock Bowers was still there. Josh Allen trying to go off board with a tight end or QB. Yeah, I just think, look, I love elite tight ends. I love elite quarterbacks. I don't think this is the format for them. I think their, you know, can Bowers separate from the position Sure. Can Josh.
Alan separate, but on the whole, the quarterbacks are not gapping the rest of the position. And now if this, if this league was different, you know, it was like you were in a subsequent thing where the top team advanced each week and you had to finish first out of 16. Okay, give me Josh Allen, give me Bowers, but this is your just not trying to finish last. The selling point for Alan in Bowers isn't necessarily the floor. It's the ceiling and we are looking for floor here. So I'm not considering guys like that. I do think it's interesting to talk through maybe some of the high volume wide receivers who in a PPR league can have a nice floor. But man, the one thing that is the easiest to project in fantasy football are running back touches. You know, yes, I think it's for elite wide receivers. But at this point in the draft, Chris Olaves off the boards, they flowers off the board. We're already getting into slightly volatile territory. I know Java week one, like I like Jane blue, whatever Phil Moffa, Malik Davis, Javante Williams is going to get the ball 15 plus touch times he's going to get the goal line carries and then against him to Derek Henry week 14 by one of the easiest schedules off the rip at the Giants home versus Washington versus Baltimore in that game versus Henry and then at Houston, maybe not quite as great. But this is one of the better schedules and the Cowboys are implied to score a ton of points off the rip. Love that the only other decision because I again am not a Javante fan this season. I do think they spread the ball out more. But in week one, two, three, it's absolutely going to be Javante's turn to be that volume back. See if he can return the investment he did last year, the only other two names I would have considered, at least from what I see here that have been drafted is going with Brock Bowers at this point because I do believe Brock Bowers will be that far ahead of the 16th, 17th and 18th tight end that it will push you up those rankings, trying to avoid that chop early plus in these drafts, at least the way I think about it. You're trying to draft a hit that floor, but also if you can get guys that are going to be playing for you in week 18 as well as week one. And Brock Bowers is one of those dudes. You draft him in that second round. You're never looking at another tight end for the entirety of the season. And I do, I do agree tight end is a little bit more important than quarterback because of the numbers, but Brock Bowers could have been a pick. And then I also don't know their schedule off the top of my head, but with Kamara being down, ETN here would have been another guy for me, especially with the past catching that I think would have been really interesting there. He was, that was my second choice. I think Kyron, the Rams also have a really nice schedule to start and they have a lot of projected high scoring games, but similar to how you're a little spooked about Javonte, I'm really spooked about Blake Corm, kind of coming in and eating his lunch. And I'm like, I do think it's going to push toward more of a 50/50 where I'm less concerned about Jada blue fully eating into Javonte. But I'm with you on HN, Travis HN, we're not allowed to say ETN anymore. No, you're going to get the fast start because Kamara is going to be on the shelf for at least four to six weeks, probably eased back in, not scared of Devin Neal, who's hurt, not scared of Kendra Miller. I've seen that movie multiple years in a row. And then to your point, like the one thing that pushed me to Javonte was just looking at the team totals and Dallas is expected to score like literally five to six more points per game than the Saints. And so I'm like, I think I'm just going to have a better shot at touchdowns, but from a pure workload perspective, I'm completely with you. I think HN is as a solid solid second round pick. Now out of the other decision makers in here out of the other two team, two player tandems, there's some that really stick out to me that I don't know if I would agree with. I do love the Amon Russ St. Brown with Brock Bowers. It's going to suck for the running back room. But I think that's a very, very great start guys that could be playing for you in that final week. But right next to it, going doubling down on Buffalo with James Cook and Josh Allen, that's a tough start for that Buffalo Bill's team. And I do love the cohesion of those two players, but only one of them can find the end zone every trip. Unless James Cook becomes the receiving back we once dreamed he could be. Yeah, I don't like this in a limonator or sorry, guillotine. I don't like it in a limonator either. That's where the point I was going because you have two players whose touchdowns are quite literally negatively correlated. Anytime James Cook scores a rushing touchdown, it's not Josh Allen in vice versa. In addition to that, you are opening yourself up to a ton of correlated variants. If the bills have a down gain, you know, week one, they're at Houston, like that's not easy as a matchup. They're projected to only score 23 points. That's like the same as your Green Bay Packers. It's close to the New York Giants that week. If they fail, if they only score a couple of touchdowns, one of them come special teams. And these guys are scoring, you know, less than 10 points. Allen's not going to score less than 10, but Cook could all of a sudden you put all of your eggs in one single basket. So even aside from the schedule issue, just in general, I don't want to have two players from the same team in the first few rounds. My draft. So yeah, I'm right there with you because you're, you're again, you're trying to avoid catastrophe with these guillotine builds and betting doubling down on the bills could really, really work out for you, but at the same time, if they have that off game, then you're suddenly on the line, potentially chopped. And it doesn't get better after Houston, man, I pulled up this schedule. Now week three is the charges. Week four is New England, week five is at miles, Garrett and the Rams, like those are tough, tough games could be higher scoring than Houston, but not exactly easy roads for Cook and Allen those first few weeks. And then the other one that sticks out to me, this is just because a the team stinks and B, we have the injury going with Devon H&N and the Nash and Gen T12. That's a, that's a, that's a, that's a risky move as a double running back room. That looks like an early chop. And I don't know whose team this is, but I will say the name is here. So I don't get fined, which strikes me as a very reluctant fantasy life employee who helped fill this leak. That's what that strikes me as. But I was just going to say, like, Gen T is probably a major dog to play week one. I would, I would still be shocked if he plays. And then Miami has the fourth lowest implied total. They're actually playing against each other in that same game. Miami Las Vegas. But I'm with you. I don't mind H&N in that he's going to catch some balls. He's explosive. I'm going to go a different direction than him at one 13 probably Kenneth Walker. However, the Gen T pick is really the problematic one for me. Like you, and I last year, I hung around in my leagues for a long time, based on just a few major performances. You know, I had a Puka team and just having that one guy up top with a really high ceiling can carry you into limit that to basically say, I'm going to take a zero here. One of the first two, I don't know, three, four, possibly five weeks. I think you have to tank guys like Gen T and your guillotine ranks. Yeah. And then I'm the same way we learned more about Josh Jacobs. We have no idea what's going to happen with him. We have no idea that could be potentially some Puka stuff coming down the line. Does that worry you at all when it comes to these guillotine lead drafts? Because you can't afford a zero with these early picks. But say, Josh Jacobs is there around five or six in this bill. Do you looking at it? Are you completely like I think it was Sam who said he's that that's off his board completely. Are you are you attacking the draft in that way? I do think like I'm never going to be the kind of person that says he's undraftable. Everybody has a price. Like you put, you know, do the extreme. If he's available in round 18, are you going to take Josh Jacobs? Yes. Yes. I'm going to take Josh Jacobs. So yeah, there is a price for him. I'm going to be looking at the opportunity cost there. Once I get into that range where I feel like I am taking more of a handcuff bet or a guy who I don't feel comfortable is going to project for more than 10 plus points a game. Let's say we get to the Blake Quorum RJ Harvey tier. Like that's when I might start considering Josh Jacobs being like the risk reward is here, but I'm really, you know, it's it's almost like a meme in regular fantasy leagues where we'll kind of point and make fun of like, oh, you're just trying to fill out your starting line. I've got to get brand knob or you've got to get your defense in G team. I'm kind of trying to fill out my starting lineup. Like I just want to really good week one. And so that's the lens I'm viewing it. And if I don't think Josh Jacobs is going to be hitting my starting lineup week one, I have to dock him pretty significant. Yeah. So are you obviously every draft is different. Every draft position is different. But when you build this stuff out, we want to build that starting lineup. Is there any position that you throw to the wolves? Because with an 18 team league, you cannot get the players you want at each position. You're either throwing away the wide receiver room, the tight end room, the QB room, whatever. I don't recommend anyone going zero RB in an 18 team league, but is there any position that you say I leave that towards the end? Yeah. I mean, it would be the onesy positions quarterback and tight end. The positions. Yeah. You know, I hear you out on Bowers ability to separate. I think if he was on an elite offense, it would be a lot more compelling to me. It is tough to look at the biggest team. Total 22 versus Miami 17 at LAC 19 and a half at New Orleans 19 versus KC. If Bowers is going to get there, it's going to be because he catches 10 balls. We're like a game and we know we can do that. So I get it. But man, I think you are your touchdown expectation is really low there. But I would just say tight end is the most volatile position in fantasy scoring. We know that it's very touchdown dependent. Yeah. And I think there's a lot of good values deep down the draft board guys like Breton Strange, Hunter Henry, Chica Conquo, these guys that I think are going to catch four to five balls. And I basically think when I attack elite tight ends and a lot of my formats, it is for that ceiling. I'm saying, can you separate? And because separation isn't as key here, I'm just looking for floor. I'm saying, who gives me the floor? Tight ends. I feel like lend themselves more to that kind of way of thinking with guillotine. Well, you know what? This is good to know for me because being you are competing in this league against each other. And now we can talk freely about our individual rankings for guillotine league because I am the exact opposite Peter. I do attack those onesy positions early because I believe
tight end more than quarterback, that top tier of the world does separate you and gives you that high floor in these first few weeks and I am all about, especially when it comes to fab bucks, I am all about getting those guys that can get me to week 17. You might want to grab that Tony Pollard if he becomes available with your fab bucks because he'll last a few rounds and he's better than the running back room you have. But when it comes to Josh Allen, Brock Bowers, no one is going to be better than them that ever comes across your waiver wire. So that's, I am spending the early draft picks on those types of players to secure that position ad infinity. But yeah, it's a very interesting to see the different strategies that can come into a guillotine league because even if it wasn't Bowers, the McBrides of the world, the Colson Lovelins, like I'm fine taking those guys early and letting them ride for the entirety of the season. All right. Well, it's a good thing you're going to, I'm going to make you pay your own bounty for this league when you get bounced because Brock Bowers goes three for 45 the first week. Who are you hoping not, hopefully, hopefully none of your competitors are watching this video. But who are you hoping falls to you in the third now that you went double RB? Who are you praying comes back around? Yeah, it's, it's so hard to know how many, how long or who's going to be available by the next time I come back in. But honestly, if I can get another running back value, I am still very interested. I'm going to look here on, oh, this is our guillotine league that is going to be taking place. Let me go to the live draft and we can just see here. So yeah, like I like Tramick Brides kicking around. It looks like I have about 10 picks. So Deandre Swift, David Montgomery, some of these running backs. So I think are going to project for a ton of points week one. If one of those are available, I will gobble them up. I could see if not swinging over to one of these guys who I think is the wide receiver one on their team who's going to project for 10 plus targets, a Teteroi McMillan, a Jalen Waddle really stands out to me here. I think that's the range. I'm probably hoping to grab if not. So if, if the Montgomery's of the world don't fall to you, you would rather the wide receiver one than a bucky Irving type player. I think so. I think so because I think there's going to be a lot of volatility with a bucky workload. And then if I'm thinking about arbitrage, like again, the bucky ceiling is awesome. I think he's a really talented player. But if I look late as far as guys in split backfields who are going to give up some high value touches, I mean, you start to look at guys like Aaron Jones, like Aaron Jones is kind of an older poor man's bucky, right? Can do a big plays, can work in the past game. We'll mix in for a touchdown here and there. I think if you're going to give me risk there, I'd rather just play the arbitrage version. Have you been, have you struggled because you do more best ball drafts than just about anyone out there? I'm doing more best ball drafts this off season than I've ever done in my life. And I'm having a blast doing it and it's your F and fall Peter. But do you fall into the trap of you've done so many best ball drafts. So that still mode of thinking is in there. Do you have trouble putting that to the side and going guillotine league focusing and grabbing different players for different reasons? You know what? I think I normally would except for these eliminator contests, which are a very similar thing where again, it's the way they've set it up. It's just a head to head matchup each week. So it's not quite having the big pool of players. But that format requires a really similar strategy of getting off to a fast start. You have to really care about buy weeks in that format as well. Because if you load up on too many buys, like your team is absolutely toast. So that's the one thing that has primed me for guillotine season. And one other nice thing for us and for people who are drafting these and by the time we even do our draft on Friday, I just got word fantasy life week one projections are going to be out very soon. So you can actually go in and we'll be able to see within the applet our week one projection for these guys right now. I'm pretty sure this is just a dummy projection. Those are going to get updated. And that's going to be very valuable. If you're breaking ties and you see one guy's projected for three more points and we have an awesome projections team over at fantasy life, that's helpful intel. Interesting. Interesting. That is, I almost wish that Intel wasn't there because there are some people in that league that might use that intel and need that intel. But I'm excited, man, I'm excited for this draft. I'm excited to see who steals the players that I want. I'm excited to flip out like I'm worried. I mean, we did, we did a little bit with so you think you can tell, but those were really all mock drafts, best ball drafts. Like when we're drafting this and we're on stream man, you might have to get me out of I might be in the tool shed over here and you might need to get a little personality out of me. I might say some words that I regret if people get taken in front of me. It might be a tough, tough stretch for old tone. I'm a little bit worried. I get a little bit stressed out. I'm usually pacing and I won't be able to pace during this thing. Well, it is, it's funny. You say that because the majority of the eliminated drafts that I've done, which I do think are decent practice, those have been slow drafts. So I can look at the board. I can look at the by weeks. I can take my time. I can see we're going to have a clock. Clock's going to be moving here. You're going to have be having to check things. And yes, you are paid to be the host on this. So hey, Tony, maybe it's me who gets to go mute. And you actually have to talk the whole time. I think that might be how it goes down. That's terrible. Hopefully we don't even know that we do need to decide that too. We don't know the draft order. How we're going to decide on that thing. Hopefully I'm at one of the turns. So I have some time to focus on the host and the show that focus on my picks. And then the other part is when it comes to the clock, I'll ask you what how long should this clock be right now? I have it at 60 seconds. Do you want to make it longer? Like how what do we want to do? Good question. I think because we're streaming it, my hope, I think 90 seconds is good. My hope would be, if you know who you want to pick, make the pick right away. Let's move on along.
