Watch Crowd WALK OUT As Trump Screams

So I just watched Donald Trump's midterm convention speech so you don't have to, and to put it bluntly, it was a complete and total disaster. Everything that could have gone wrong for the Republican Party and their midterm chances did. I mean, he rambled incoherently about his terrible policy. He talked about the ballroom. He talked about renaming things. He made empty promises. It was an awful speech. And the venue was, for the most part, pretty empty, despite Donald Trump claiming that it was packed. So I want to show you some clips from the speech. We'll talk about some of the most significant moments and more in this video. But man, oh man, was it bad? It goes an incredibly long way, and it helps me as I watch these speeches so you don't have to. But let's start here. I mean, one of the big goals of Republicans going into this midterm convention was for Donald Trump to not make it about himself, but rather talking well about the party, talking well about their accomplishments. There aren't any, but doing something like that. And that didn't happen. Donald Trump actually opened the speech by saying, I'm on the ballot, which is not really the message that Republicans were hoping for, especially when the guy who's claiming he's on the ballot has a 30% approval rating. So I'm asking you to pretend that I'm on the ballot. I'm on the ballot. I'm on the ballot. Just one more time. I think that's great. I think the American people should think of the midterms as Donald Trump being on the ballot. This guy is historically unpopular. He's even more unpopular right now than he was in his first term. That is devastating for the Republicans. And they know that. That's why they've been telling Trump and telling his team, like, please, please, please, let us run our own races. Do not make the midterms about yourself. And that's exactly what Donald Trump did. During this speech. Then, man, oh man, this was really embarrassing for Trump. There were a number of empty seats in the venue. I mean, I'm talking hundreds, if not thousands, when you look up at the second and third levels of the venue, that were just basically completely empty. Like, take a look at this. This is from journalist Sarah Ewell Weiss, who said that after 40 minutes, there are a lot of empty seats. (crowd cheering) We don't really know what we are. I mean, we're running together if we have to. Wow. And this is the guy who claims he's one of the most liked presidents ever. And he can't even pack his crowd at the convention where he's giving the keynote address. I mean, look at this. This is the lower level. And there are more empty seats than there are filled seats. And look at the upper levels. I mean, the second and third, if you take a quick glimpse of the second level, there are barely any people up there, same with the first level as well. But even more so on the third level, it is completely empty up there. Here's another angle. This is 90 minutes into Donald Trump's speech. And it looks even worse from this angle. It was 180 degrees. President Trump didn't really want to be there. You can see it. And the room works half-acting. The back of the room, and the building. The back of the room. Wow, in this clip, Donald Trump is bragging about having high energy packed rallies. Meanwhile, he's speaking to a venue that genuinely looks like it has more empty seats than it does filled seats, even in the areas that are meant to be packed. Like right here, this should be packed. There should not be any empty seats right there. And there are. There are plenty. And then especially look at the upper levels. I mean, this is devastating for Donald Trump and the Republicans. And he actually said this during the speech. He was saying that the fake news media is going to claim the venue is empty. So please don't go to the bathroom in the middle of the speech because it's going to look like it's empty. But-- and we have journalist Jacob Rubishkin making a joke about that, saying a lot of people, quote, going to the bathroom as Trump crosses one hour and 15 minutes. These are people not going to the bathroom. Nobody just showed up. Nobody showed up to Donald Trump's midterm speech. And also, it was pretty unpopular online. Not many ratings as Donald Trump would put it. Not many people watching. Take a look at some of these major media outlets. Right side broadcasting network is a very popular right wing news network or YouTube channel. Only 2,000 people watching the speech. That's meant to be one of the hubs for Republicans. Or live now from Fox 800 people watching the Hill 133, ABC News, 661. Nobody wanted to pay attention to that speech. And I don't blame them. I got bored watching the speech. I wanted to turn it off. But I figured I had to watch so we could talk about it together and I could know what he said. And then Donald Trump got into talking about policy, his vision for America, which is renaming things. Yes, he proposed renaming a bunch of things during this speech, starting with the straight of four moves, saying that we should call it the Trump straight. During my administration and food prices and almost every other item are rapidly going down. And by the way, oil would be going down as soon as we win the war with the rent, which is taking place right now. We'll win it. We'll win it. We can control the hormones straight. I think we should call the hormones straight. We should call it the Trumps straight. I should get something out of it. The Trump straight. It's going to be called. Ladies and gentlemen, I'll have an announcement. We'll call it the Trump straight. And I'm sure the Iranian leadership will be thrilled with that. Wow. I mean, look, look at the people behind him. They love this. How can you be such-- and I'm going to say this. I'm going to say it. I'm not going to hold anything back. How can you be such an idiot to be sitting there like entertained by the president of the United States? Number one, arguing that we continue a war. And number two, just renaming things for the sake of renaming them. Do you have no morals, no values, no goals for the country to make it look better? Is your entire political philosophy just, hey, I love Donald Trump? Is that all? God, that's embarrassing. And he didn't stop there with the renaming. He went on to double down on renaming New Mexico. He posted the other day on social media that he wants to rename the state and has a new name for it. And now, he said it during his midterm convention speech. But we did come up with one the other day, which we think is appropriate. You have a neighboring state, New Mexico. We think it should be called New America, New America. [APPLAUSE] New America. And they're cheering, oh my, these people in this crowd are mindless robots. Donald Trump could say two plus two equals 12. And they'd say, wow, it's genius. Are you seriously clapping for that renaming New Mexico to New America? Now, see, of course, I think it's important to point out that people in the room love it. They think it's great. But average Americans out there who care about the economy or not being able to afford health care or not being able to afford an education being worried about rent, they're hearing this and they are disgusted. Because the president of the United States is focused more on like his little pet projects and these stupid things, as opposed to them and their needs. Donald Trump continuing on this same topic, saying that now he wants to rename some oceans as well. [APPLAUSE] And fentanyl and other drugs coming in through the oceans and the seas, and most importantly, the Gulf of America. [APPLAUSE] Thank you. By the way, you know, I just put out-- because you know Lake Ontario, we're going to call that now Lake America. [APPLAUSE] Well, maybe it's going to work out. Canada very much wants to make a deal. That doesn't make a deal. But it's going to be called Lake America. The other one we came up with today-- well, we could go into oceans like the Pacific Ocean or the Atlantic. We can't have both. I don't think you can do both, that's true. I'm genuinely convinced that he's going to try to rename them like the Trump Ocean or the America Ocean. Or something dumb like that. I'm pretty certain that that's the direction he's moving in, which really is just the dumbest thing I've heard all day. In moments like this, when I see him speaking like this, which by the way, he looks like crap, let's just point that out as well, when I see him speaking like this, I once again stunned that as a country, we allowed this to happen. People actually voted for this, renaming bodies of water. Let's not make the same it's safe twice. This November, vote these freaks out. But I just can't believe that we're in this moment in this country. Then Donald Trump starts bragging about his ballroom, because that's what Americans care about, right? He said that when he was in China, they had a great ballroom, and that's why we need one as well. Just check this out. 101 people. We could have 2,000 people. I could have this whole stadium would like to go there. So we're building something that's going to be the most beautiful anywhere in the world when I was in China they have a building. It's called the Great Hall of China. It's a serious hall. This is a very large hall, but we're going to top it. We're going to top it. And it's going to be at the White House, and all these presidents to come, hopefully mostly Republicans, but Democrats also are going to be very thankful that they haven't. And it's going to be an honor to do it. And I just want to say that the radical of Democrats will not have and could not have. And this is-- I just, like, I can't believe that his team [BLANK_AUDIO] him into this speech and was like, yeah, yeah, you should talk about the ballroom. That'll really get the American people going. That's what's going to boost those fundraising numbers. That's what's going to boost the poll numbers, the ballroom. These people are weird. I mean, let's just be honest here. Then Donald Trump was asking, does he get credit for building a ballroom with my money? Which it is not his money. Americans are paying for at least at a minimum that we know of half of the ballroom with taxpayer dollars. Donald Trump is charging the secret service, taking money out of their pocket, their pool, and putting it toward the ballroom. It's absurd. It's actually ridiculous. Then Donald Trump starts bragging about the tariffs. He's saying they're making us richer than we ever thought. We're taking in trillions of dollars. That's what he thinks. I love the word and I said that at one of the big rallies I had a while ago. Tariff, some of my favorite word, is going to make America rich. It's making us much richer than we ever thought, but we're taking in trillions of dollars. Okay. But I said tariff is my favorite word and the fake news went crazy. They said, what about love, what about wife, what about God, religion, family. I don't need to hear him rant anymore than we actually need to, but he says tariffs are making us so much richer than we ever thought. Number one, tariffs have raised prices for Americans. That is not up for debate. That is a matter of fact. Number two, tariffs are incredibly unpopular. If you look at all the polls anytime anybody's asked about tariffs, nobody wants them. Nobody wants a tariff. Nobody wants Donald Trump to continue to do what he's doing with tariffs. They've backfired completely in every single way. And number three, the tariffs have been refunded for major companies, like Amazon, Microsoft, Apple. They're all getting hundreds of millions, if not billions of dollars in tariff refunds. You know how much we're getting in tariff refunds, zero dollars, zero dollars. So the rich get richer average Americans, hardworking Americans get poorer in Donald Trump's America. So he's bragging about that. Once again, if you want to brag about that, if you want that to be your thing, then great. The topic of tariffs he then makes a promise of which cannot be fulfilled. It is impossible. Donald Trump said, only I can make this promise to you. He's introducing policy in this speech. If the Republicans win the House and the Senate, I will issue a dividend to every adult in the United States of America for $5,000. So he's saying, if Republicans win, you get money, which almost sounds like a form of bribery, but putting that aside, Donald Trump is lying here. Those $5,000 checks are never going to come. When Donald Trump said he was going to give out $2,000 tariff checks, $3,000, $4,000 tariff checks, those checks never came. It was a campaign promise. It was a promise to the American people that he ran on just to get some votes. And this is no different. So nobody out there should fall for this and think, well, if the Republicans win, I'm going to get money. No, you are not. You will get poorer. Your prices will go up. Things will be more expensive if Republicans win. And it almost sounds like Donald Trump by promising this is saying that there will be more tariffs to come and the war with Iran is going to continue because he's saying we're going to give you these $5,000 to make affording gas much more easy. But Donald Trump says that he wars almost over. So which one is it? And he's been promising that the prices are going to come down. He can't keep his lies straight. He has no idea what he's saying, which is not exactly surprising. And then when he's been approached about these issues and people being unhappy with them, he openly acknowledged in this speech that, yeah, I don't really care. He said, you know what happens to me all the time? Guys come up. You know, I wish you didn't do the war, gasoline, and he says blah, blah, blah, blah. You know, it happens to me all the time. Guys come up. You know, I wish you didn't do the war in Iran, gasoline's up, blah, blah, blah. And I say, well, let me ask you just smart people. Let me ask you not too many of them, by the way. Let me ask you one question. Can Iran have a nuclear weapon? Absolutely not. Well, then I'm right that I win, okay? Wow, blah, blah, blah. That's what he says about people being concerned about these things, which is, I imagine, not the clip that Republicans were hoping to get out of this speech tonight, but it's the one they did get. It's the one they did get. Put that in some democratic ads. And then a couple of final things I want to bring to your attention, Donald Trump during the speech, even insulted his own party. So Ken Paxson, who's running for the Senate in Texas, which is where this convention is taking place, Trump said about him some may not like the way he dresses. I don't. They may not like the way he talks. I can see that you may not like the way he looks, which is not really the shining endorsement that you would want of a Republican candidate from the Republican president in a state that is meant to be competitive, at least according to the polls, it's going to be competitive. Not quite the endorsement that I imagine Ken Paxson and his team was hoping for, but once again, that's the endorsement they got, and they're going to have to deal with it. And one more I wanted to bring to your attention is that, yes, Donald Trump decided to rant about the word dumb. Once again, this is new, his new thing. He says, you know, not many people knew that the word dumb has a B at the end of it. So newsflash, literally everybody knows that, you know, most people, I hope, but Donald Trump, on the other hand, does this thing when he says, you know, everybody believes X, Y, and Z or everybody says X, Y, and Z. And when he says that, he actually means himself. So in this case, he says, nobody knows that dumb has a B in it. That means that he didn't know that dumb had a B in it up until recently. That's what it means. That's the Trump translation there because he doesn't want to admit it for himself. He just wants to put it on to other people, but what an embarrassing speech. I mean, nobody attended. He ranted about renaming things. He ranted about his awful policies. He's insulting his party like I, I can only imagine the conversations that are happening behind the scenes right now among high ranking Republicans. You can only imagine the panic that is setting in as they realize that Trump is not going to change. He will not do what's best for the party. He will continue to do stuff like this just to get some laughs from the crowd in front of him, which was a very small crowd at that. But that's all. So anyway, I will leave the video there. I am, I hope you didn't watch the speech because you didn't miss anything. I lost like, you know, an hour and a half, two hours of my life watching this crap. So I will leave it there.
