[Music] In this podcast I will show you the power of persuasions. This is how you will be inspired to take on your existing fears and doubts and to put them into action and force. I am Iris Willems and I welcome you to the power of persuasions podcast. [Music] In this first podcast episode we will look at what persuasions actually are. What are the good or bad persuasions and when do we talk about them? And actually what are the persuasions? That is actually the image of how you see the world. It is your truth. But actually the truth does not exist. It is always our own truth, that of me, that of you. It is a sort of thinking frame, the way you think about things. And where that comes from, a large part of you actually comes from your upbringing. Your upbringing is not only in your parents, but also important people around you. And if you, for example, grew up in a family where there was a lot of Ruzy, then for you, the world image will perhaps be revealed, that it is normal that Ruzy is made in a relationship. And sometimes people will say, "There is always something hidden with pots." And actually that is not true, because there are a lot of families where there is never something hidden with pots or pans. So actually that is also very often done, with what is the person's world image, if that is just, that sometimes something is thrown at the head, literally, then yes, then it is that or her world image. Or for example, if you grew up in a family where the father or the mother-in-law have been cheated on by each other, and you know that as a child, and there was a divorce or something like that, then it can be that your world image is that a man or a woman is not to be trusted. And that, for example, in relationships there is always one of both games. So that is the world image that you have been given, is created by the things that you have experienced in your life, heard by others, or even found in your own lives. And how early a event takes place in your life, how easier or stronger it is to be included in your system as a conviction. And how does that come? Well, in any case, if you are very small, especially before the seventh year of life, then you do not have any rational thinking. So you can not even think about events, whether that is right, whether that is logical, or why things happen. You can not understand that at all. So actually, everything you hear is also literally referred to as truth. So all the statements that your parents, big parents, teachers, to whom, the important people in your life, who you have told, or who you have told to each other, and whom you have heard, that is for your truth. You can then make no difference between someone who is evil, or stressed, or drunk. You can not distinguish that as a child from something that is common, and what is real. And so for a child, everything comes with it, they cannot filter it, and they feel it all as real and as true. And even more, of course, when it comes to parents, the parents, big parents, important people who stand close to him, because in the seventh year, for most children, their parents are their God. For them, they mean everything, and they are also the only ones who speak the truth in their eyes. They are the ones who know everything, and who also take everything from it. And therefore, of course, we have a lot of persuasion in our system, which is based on our childhood. Things that are printed in us are not always with conscious intention, very often even unconsciously speaking, that parents have done or people around us, such as, for example, you have nothing to say. If you have little children, and they start to get tired, and they get fat, they say, you have nothing to say. Those are things that are perceived in your mind. And if I'm going to say that very often, then it becomes an effective truth, and something that you are going to live on. Even when you are grown up, and you know rationally that it is no longer true, that you have something to say, but you will notice that in many situations, every time it is closed, or every time you keep your opinion for yourself, because it is actually in your mind that you have nothing to say. So you can have ideas or persuasion around money, that money is vice, or that money makes you unhappy, that you can only have money when you treat people. And so there are hundreds, thousands of situations with the corresponding persuasion that you can strengthen or weaken or limit in your life. And that is what we are going to talk about. The intention is that you, with different examples, will inspire in the coming weeks and months, so that you will actually see it in your own life, that you have persuasion. Everyone has persuasion, me too. You can't do without persuasion. But the question is then, what are good and what are bad persuasion? Actually, it is not always one or the other or necessarily bad. I will give an example. Many of us grew up with persuasion. When you come home from school, you do your homework first and then you can play. And then you enjoy your game much better. In addition to where, you can bring in little. You can say, yes, that's right. If I make my homework first, then I'm done. And then I can really enjoy my game. But that's natural. In this context, that's right. And that's not always the case, but in many cases, it's useful. Now you have to think about it. If you are a grown-up now, and you still have a lot of work to do, you really went over your limit. You feel like, oh, I still have a lot of work at home, but also at my work. I don't touch my work. And you are programmed, conditioned, that you have to finish your first work and then just play. Are, as adults, relaxed. Then you never come to relaxation. And that's what a lot of people are doing. We are so programmed that we always want to finish everything first and then just have the feeling of, now I can enjoy my game. It used to be, my relaxation is as an adult. And we don't come to that anymore. And even if you would at that moment realize, actually, it's not true now. Actually, it's better that I relax first, because after that, I will work much better. Also, you realize that, you will notice that you often have an inner conflict, with a feeling of guilt. You put yourself down and you think, oh, I'm going to read a book first, or I'm just going to take a bath, or watch TV a bit, or whatever. And while you're doing that, there is a small voice on your shoulder who says, oh, you should work better. If you feel much better when you work, then you can relax. We are going to tell people from you, you are sitting here now, you shouldn't work better. And those voices form your inner conflict. They form, I call it your inner war. And that inner war is very, it is very energetic, it will ensure that you work day after day, week after week, month after month, as long as you achieve more. And that is also the reason why a lot of people end up in a burnout. And I do say that it is because, for example, too much work, but actually it's not true. Of course there is a possible cause for too much work, but the real cause are our disappointments. That is that we are programmed, that we have to finish it first, and that I will just relax after that. And also you take away half of that work. The problem remains, because the feeling of guilt is inside. The less you have too much work, the voice that says, work that first off. And that is why you always stay on your limits, not only at work, but also at home. So today it is very important to look for us behind the scenes and to learn to work there. Because as long as the disappointments remain, and that the one-sided disappointment remains, I have to work first off, as long as it is over, you will never find rest. And you will always fail again. And even take a period when it gets easier, to recover, for example, from an exhaust phase or a burnout, but within the course of times, you are back to the mountains. And that is because you actually did not take away the disappointments. That is why I find it so important that I also want to make this podcast to inspire you. Because disappointments are massively behind a lot of things. Behind every effort that you do or do not do, there is a disappointment. And yes, I just asked, is it now positive or negative disappointment? Actually, it is so that we need to complement disappointments. For instance, the disappointment of working your work off in Hadarnah, that is not a bad disappointment. Because in some moments, in some contexts, it is good that you can do that. You also have to be able to continue. So that is good. First, work off something, and then relax. In a lot of situations, it is useful and valuable. But not always. Because at other times, if you have worked too much, when you have gone over that, and you feel that there is no energy that you start coming into the output, then it is important that you can shift to another disappointment that is, if I relax first, then I will work more efficiently there. So it is a story. You need both disappointments so that you can shift into the correct disappointment in the long-term context. Now, what happens there? The old disappointment is from a small part of your brain, so it is very well shifted into your brain. Those new thoughts, I would better relax first, and then I will work efficiently, that is a thought. But that is not a disappointment. The thoughts you have taken because based on what people say, or what is happening in your daily life, or in the media, you are told that you know, "Yes indeed, I feel that there is too much and I should do it." But it remains in your rational understanding. It is not yet in your subconscious. And what happens if a disappointment is not yet in your subconscious, then it remains only with knowledge, and it will never be done. And make sure, when you are under stress, when there is time pressure, or when you have certain concerns or problems, then you come into stress. And your stress mechanism takes care of survival. In survival, you will think less. You will actually go into your automatic pilot, and your automatic pilot will ensure that you will act faster and think less, otherwise you will never survive. So you will do it first and then think. We often see that we have already done something and think, "Oh, I should have done it differently." So what happens when you are under stress, so at every deadline, at every conflict, at every mental care that you make, at every negative thought that you have, you activate that stress mechanism and you come into your automatic pilot. And your automatic pilot is your conviction that you are one. And at that moment, you can no longer let the influence of your thoughts affect you. So you will notice that every time, excuse me, you will notice that every time when there is pressure, or when you have difficulty, that you just don't do what you should do. So just then, when you are under stress, you don't get into tension in the plans. Because your automatism says, "First, work off work." At the moment it is already calm, then you will be able to say, "Ah, now I am going to relax." But then you are not in your stress mechanism and then you can take over your rational brain and you can actually do other things purely on insight or on knowledge. And from there, it is of course useful what we are going to do in the podcast so that you get insight, but if you notice that you are not satisfied with the new automatism, or a new treatment, spontaneously, then you want to say that you are not fully aware that you are not 100% sure yet. And then it is very important that you go to sleep to learn how to condition yourself. Now, I will come back later, because who wants to dive in there, you need to register at prana.be/overtuigingen. And if you register there, then I will invite you to a live webinar where I can go deeper into the mechanisms and the things that are needed to condition your brain and program your brain. So do that for sure. Go to prana.be/overtuigingen. Fill in your name and email address and then you will get an invitation to listen to our webinars for free. So, we will go further. Our convictions arise from the things we hear from our parents. Those are the strongest convictions because they are printed out very often. At that moment, we do not ask any questions. And it is also the first thing we heard from them. It is the first thing we experience in our lives, in our young lifetimes. And so that is 100% of the truth. For example, if you want to become a slave today, and you learn to deal with slaves or you grab a snake and it bites you, then it is very important that you will say, "No, that is not for me." "I don't want to see a snake anymore. I am going to give up." Whereas if you have been dealing with snakes for 10 years and you have never been bitten, and today you are bitten by a snake, then you will react completely differently. You will think, "Oh, I was innocent. I was innocent." But you do not have any trauma or any serious negative experiences. You will just say, "Okay, I have already had 10 years of positive experiences. I was just very unpleasant now." Whereas if it is your first experience, then you immediately have 100% of your experiences that are negative, because you only have one. And so that chance that you become convinced is much greater. Above all, because it is a fact that is being accepted, that the snake is dangerous, or something else that you experience, you will go away from the next challenge or the next confrontation. Because the chance is much smaller, it is that you have a second experience, where you have a success experience, so that you can nuance your vision and take on another conviction. And so today, that your first experiences with certain things, such as relationships, with couples, with trust, all those different things, with your thoughts, or not be able to say, all those things determine very strongly your convictions. And are those convictions that you, at least in your adult life, are going to be sent to a conscious level. And so the more you are stressed, the less self-control you have, and the more you are driven by your unconscious convictions. And that is why it is so important that we are going to get them. Your convictions actually form a little bit of a blue pressure for your happiness. Because those convictions determine how you think, where you believe, what you are used to, how much self-confidence you have, how you look at life, how you deal with fears, with contradictions, with decisions, with money, all those things are determined by your convictions. And happiness can actually only grow in the way that you grow yourself by working on your convictions. So if you notice in your life that certain things don't go as you want, that you want to do things, but that you always try to change, or you always have an excuse, which I think is a financial and logical excuse, it is really difficult to get what your convictions are. Because we are also very strong in finding excuses. And we really do give, our rational brain, is very good at saying all kinds of things, that seem logical, to explain why we don't do certain things. But it is really nonsense. And it is refugees. refugees who have to forget that you are actually afraid of something, or that you have resistance, or that you don't feel good about it. And so if you can get that back, and then you can adjust your convictions and change them, then you will notice that you can react completely differently, without having to worry about it, without having to worry about your energy cost. Once your conviction has changed, it will go on its own. Then you don't have to worry about it anymore. But how do you change your convictions? Well, the first important step is awareness. And that is the podcast. That is all. If you don't know that there is a problem, then you won't be able to solve it. So the first step is insight. Awareness of what is possible, which convictions are possible for certain convictions, or not convictions. Second, if you are aware of how you influence your life all the time today. And realize that those thoughts that you had with your parents, for example the life is gone, can still be in your system today, which is why you always go with the idea that life is gone. If you think that life is gone, then you have to make sure that it is gone, because you have to wear it unconsciously. You also have to filter what you have done, and you have to remember those things that come with your conviction. Because we always make a filter. We can never remember everything from reality, and we always make a filter. So if you are in the car, and you are driving, and you just bought a new blue Citroen, then you come out of the garage, and you are four, and you think, it is still quite new, and you step into your car, and the first coming days, you see the difference of the cars with that color. And that is because your focus is on it. There were also all those who participated, but in reality you will filter. And that filter is determined by the things you are working with, in this case the new car, but also, as I said, by those convictions. If you have conviction that life is over, then you will notice that your life is over. And so there are hundreds and thousands of convictions. So be aware, what your convictions are. Second, understand that your life still influences you today, and in what ways it influences your life. Third, let go. And let go is of course easy to say. But sometimes it works. With some people, and with some convictions, it works to simply understand and understand it, to say, "Okay, from now on, that doesn't work, that conviction is not right, I'm going to change that." And sometimes it works because you are aware to accept that, when you have a new conviction. If that works, it won't cost you anything else, and you will also have the new conviction under stress. For example, with some people, there is also a huge switch in convictions, when they are seriously ill. If something really serious happens, you lose someone who is very vulnerable, that comes in a given emotion. Because of that, it is easier or faster to accept certain things without our awareness. At that moment, there can be a click that says, "I'm going to do a completely different thing in my life, and I'm going to get a completely different world image and a different vision in life, and I'm going to really go to life without tension, without problems." But it's a shame if we have to wait until something serious happens to change certain convictions. There are also methods so that your brain can condition and program effectively to learn more in contact with your subconscious, with your emotional part of your brain and then to print the new conviction. So as I said, if you are interested in that, register at prana.be/overtuigingen and then I will invite you to a webinar that I will give about that, about convictions and what you have to do to program convictions. So from now on, the next episodes, the next podcast is my intention to inspire you with different domains, different situations, different events in which convictions play a role in our daily lives, as well as in work as in private. Do you have a situation in which you want to have it with you? And that we could use in the podcast? Of course, that would be great. Send me a mail to [email protected] and then I will contact you and write your gsm number or the moment when I can contact you and then we will make a deal and then we will see what you think about it to give it in full form. But it will be very nice to be able to go with you in a dialogue to do a podcast with someone who tells a situation of something that is difficult or not. Or where you go on the news every time and then we will take a look at what possible convictions are behind it. So do not hesitate. Take your initiative, send me a mail, tell me what it is about. I will call you and then we will see how it goes. I hope that you have already enjoyed this podcast or this first episode. That I have already been able to inspire you to look for your convictions. In my own life and things that I have worked on myself. So it is a change of things that I have heard and noticed in proceedings of things from my own life and of your cases that you send me.
