The speaker shares a personal and communal reflection on hearing God's voice, set within a church context. She explains that while God constantly speaks, the enemy also employs a deceptive voice that can lead believers astray through confusion and compromise, often disguised as something reasonable or spiritual. The core message stresses the necessity of spiritual discernment to distinguish between these voices. The speaker uses biblical references, such as John 10:27 and 2 Corinthians 11:14, to illustrate that knowing God's voice is vital for protection and direction. She recounts personal experiences of spiritual attack and affirms that God provides vindication and support through community and scripture. The talk concludes with a call to action for believers to break silence, engage in spiritual warfare through prayer, and steadfastly rely on God's word to overcome the enemy's strategic deceptions and fulfill their divine purpose.
So it's like we're in transition and so we're trying to get used to, yeah, just being here. And so it's been interesting, it's been interesting. But I'm excited for what God is going to speak today. I really believe, if where, for me and my husband, we go, how we plan our weeks is really by the Holy Spirit. There's no rotar, there's no 'okay', 'aposo' 'aposo' 'aposo' and then 'I hope in'. It's very much, what is the Lord saying? Do you have a word? And the Lord gave me a word two weeks ago. And while Aposal Isaac was preaching last week, I was having to write notes down of what he was saying, but the Lord was also speaking to me and giving me notes for this Sunday. And I've not been able to shift out of that space. It's been very interesting because obviously this topic, this series is called The Voice of God. And I'm sure everyone in this room believes that they hear the voice of God or they desire to hear the voice of God. But what God was actually speaking to me primarily about was actually the voice of the enemy. And so I'm going to get into my notes in a minute, but I want to just pray because I believe the word that I have is for everyone in this room, including myself, even my children. So when they're coming in, the seed will be so in amen. But I really believe we have to come into a place of just reverence and stillness so that we can be open to what the Lord wants to speak because this is not Prophet Jad's word, this is not me preaching and speaking what I desire to speak. This is a word from the Lord. And it very much affects my life. It affects my husband's life and it affects your lives. So I encourage you to take what you need from this word. So father, I just lift up your name right now. Father, I lift up your name in reverence for the mighty God that you are. Father, I lift up your name in glory for you are the God that is above all other gods. You are sovereign on your throne. And father, I give you glory and honor for who you are because I do not serve a dead God. I do not serve a deaf God. I do not serve a blind God, but I serve the one and true living God. So father, as you gave your son for me while I was in sin and father, as you gave your holy spirit. Father God said that I may understand and partner with you. I stand here as your vessel and I stand here humbly asking, oh God, will you speak this word through me with conviction? Will you speak this word? Oh God, on assignment to every heart and to every person, father God, that is soil, father God, that it will take root, father God and be what it needs to be in this season. Father God, I'm even praying that this word will awaken father God, even those who are sleeping, those who are in slumber. I'm asking, oh God, that this word will electrify father God every single person who has been numb to your presence and to your spirit. Lord, I'm praying, father God, that this word will do everything that it needs to do. And I'm praying, father, right now, that even me father will you minister to me just as you have been, as I've been writing my notes, father God, I pray that you will continue to minister to me as I decrease Lord and I let you take over. I pray, father God, will you speak what you need to speak in the mighty name of Jesus? I pray, amen, amen, somebody say amen, louder than that, amen, hallelujah, amen. So the voice of God, firstly, I'm so thankful that we are able to hear the voice of God. Now there's a point in time where we know, especially for those who are not saved, sims separates us from God and we're not able to hear his voice. We're not able to understand who he is because the veil is still before us. But one thing I was doing this morning specifically when I was going over my notes is I was just sitting with the Lord and I said, Lord, I'm just so thankful that I get to hear your voice. I'm so thankful that I'm able to hear your voice with clarity, clarity. So my prayer for every one of you in this room is today that you will begin to hear the voice of God with clarity, not one thing will distract, not one thing will distort, but you will hear his voice with clarity. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord. So my first scripture today is John 10, 27. And this is one of my favorite scriptures. I probably have a lot of favorite scriptures. So you'll probably have me say that a lot of times. But this is one of my favorite scriptures, specifically one that I like to teach my children. Oh, I don't know where that is. And it says, my sheep hear my voice. Let me open it up. Can I have somebody read it actually? I want to be interactive today. But John 10, 27, do I have a reader in the room? Somebody read for me. My sheep hear my voice and I know them. So Jesus was speaking here and he was teaching his disciples. He was saying those who are my sheep, those who are my flock, they hear my voice. They know my voice. Other scriptures say, other translations say they know my voice. But he also said, I know them. And they follow me. This is very important to understand that as a child of God, God is always speaking. He is always speaking. And you have to still yourself enough to be able to hear his voice. But you have to be able to come into a place where you have clarity with this is God's voice. But this isn't. Because the reality here is, the enemy also speaks. There is another voice that is contrary to the Lord. And his voice is sometimes subtle. His voice is sometimes similar. It's deceptive and it is very persistent. So if you're not careful, you can confuse the two. Now I will be the first to put my hand up and say I've been confused at times and in moments where I was listening for the Lord and I thought I heard him. But after maybe speaking to my husband or getting counsel, I realized, oh my goodness, that was not the Lord. It was a lie that was handed to me in a way that was so deceptive, so cunning, so, and we don't like to say it but smart. If you don't recognize this voice, what can happen is you can end up thinking that you're following God, but you end up going down another path. That is still towards God, but it has trials and different obstacles along the way. Sometimes I sit and I ask the Lord, Lord, if you've allowed us to come into a space of community and friendship and relationship with
you, you want us to hear your voice, you want us to follow you, why is there so many obstacles? Why is there so many obstacles sometimes to just hearing you, to just following you? I've asked him many times actually, why is the enemy's voice louder? Why is it the voice that we sometimes follow and don't even realize that we're following it? Because one thing that I'll say is, when I was a sinner and I was following the world's pattern, I heard the enemy's voice, but in that part of my life, it was everything towards sin. It was everything that was opposite to the Lord. Now, when I gave my life to him completely and I began following him, the enemy didn't speak to me the same. He didn't speak to me in a way of temptation and sin. Although he still temps, he wasn't pushing me towards sin. What he was now doing is he was pushing me towards compromise. He was pushing me towards, okay, you can serve God, but this is where you're going to be lukewarm. This is where you're going to have a divide between being holy as he is holy and actually compromised. What I found is the deception. We don't really do them anymore, but they call them what they call mask-grade balls, where everybody wears the mask and you go into the place and you can kind of see who people are, but not all the time. You can't detect every single person. This is what the enemy does. He mask-grade himself. A apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 11, 14, Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light. Other virgins say he mask-grade himself, or he transforms himself into an angel or into an angel of light. He doesn't show up as evil. He doesn't show up as I say to my children as a red devil with horns and a pitchfork. He doesn't show up like that. He can show up very much like the person next to you. He can show up very much as the person, the auntie or uncle, a friend or a neighbor. He can very much show up as that. Because as people, we sometimes allow an open door for the enemy to use us. It's not that we become possessed. It's just that we have allowed an open door for the enemy to now speak through us. And so he doesn't come as just somebody who's trying to devise and or divide and conquer. He comes appearing as wise. He comes as a spiritual help. He comes sometimes as reasonable, logical, emotional and sometimes in a way that you like. Let's be honest because you guys are so quiet. Let's be honest. He comes sometimes as the boyfriend or the girlfriend or the friend who you felt like this is my best friend. I could give my whole life to in terms of us being besties and living our life together and growing old together and all of this stuff. But he always comes as self-serving. He always comes to dilute and move you away from what God is truly desiring for you. Now I'm going to go, there's three things, Heather, I want to speak about. And the first one I titled it and I said because the Lord was speaking to me and He was dealing with me with this because I've had, I think the Lord for the gift of discernment. It's really protected me from some things. It's really helped me along my journey. But one thing I've realized is I didn't always have this gift of discernment. I wasn't always able to see the spirit behind the person. I wasn't always able to understand what was in operation. And so the Lord was telling me without knowing my voice, you are easy prey. And that is how the enemy sees you. Now this whole thing is not going to be about the enemy because honestly I don't like speaking about him. I'm not trying to glorify him. I very much so sit on the fence of he's a loser. And I am not about to spend my time preaching about him. But this portion I want you to take note because it's important because sometimes we don't realize even in old times where they were, you know, the words were happening. They had to understand the strategy of their enemy. That is how you conquer understanding, fully understanding, not just doing it once, not just hearing it once, but really understanding and studying your enemy. That's how you are able to overcome. And so the enemy strategy is often confusion and deception. He uses this to dilute your voice. Many people are called to be prophetic, to be prophets, to be apostles, to be pastors. Many people are called to ministry. But oftentimes their voice or their call gets diluted by something along the way that is either a brought deception or confusion. One thing the enemy cannot do is he cannot create anything new. He does not have creative power. He is not a creator. He was created. And he did not do what he was created to do because he wanted something else. He desired something that was not his. So what he can do is he can twist. He can confuse. He can deceive. And his ultimate goal is to silence the children of God. One thing I've realized in the past four months of being in Birmingham is you guys are silent. You're silent. I say it with boldness. You are silent because you're called to speak. You have voices and in moments you're able to speak. You're able to get it out. But what the enemy has done over this city is he has kept the church. He's kept the church. So there may be some evangelism taking place. There may be churches that are having events. I was having a conversation with somebody that other day. And they said something that I also was like yeah she said to me most of the churches are filled with university students. And I said yeah it's a lot of university students. A lot of people who have maybe been in the ground or on the ground for a while. But it's like you get to a certain level and then you stop. And the only reason why I'm able to say that is because I have a different experience. I have an experience of what churches in London and it's not to say that. It's not to glorify the church in London because they also have issues. They also have problems. But I'm here to present this because the Lord has placed me here. And I have to highlight this because what the Lord has sent me to do in this land is to ensure that the church in Birmingham and not just the church in Birmingham but the church in the UK understand that the time of silence is over. It is not time to be silent anymore. We have a real enemy and we have people who are literally dying without knowing Christ. Since I've been in Birmingham I've understood a thing about this gang culture in Birmingham. I came from the hood in London and when I say hood, people were getting stabbed, people were fighting. Someone tried to try it with me but when I was that girl, I was that girl again. I'll do it. I think the love that I'm saying though. But one thing I've realized, the hood here is different. It's different. Then I'm a little skirt. Like I said, I said, okay Lord, you know, you have to really empower me to go there. It reminds me of New York in some ways and I had this conversation again with somebody else. I said, the hood here reminds me of New York. I love New York. But New York, you know, when you think of New York, you think, oh, like there's crazy people out on the streets, they're going to hear a gun popping off. You have this and that going on. It reminds me of a version of New York. And when I was speaking to the Lord, he was really telling me, yes, darkness has been covering this city. Yes, the enemy has kept the church and the move that I'm desiring to do. But there are light bearers in this city and he is calling forth in this time for
such light to break forth that the city will no longer be known for what it has been known for in the past. So we in order for us to do that we have to understand the strategy that this enemy has had an action and is trying to even propel. The Bible says in Ephesians 6, I believe it's from verse 11, and it talks about putting on the whole armor of God that you will be able to stand against the wires of the enemy, the wires of the devil. And I was studying this word 'wires'. And I looked into the translation in Greek and it says the Greek word for 'wires' is 'methodia' and it's where we get the word 'method' from. And it means craftiness, cunning deception, strategic and intentional trickery. I'm going to say that again, craftiness, cunning deception and strategic intentional trickery. So the enemy has a method. He has a strategy in how he will keep Birmingham boxed in. The people who have grown up in this city boxed in. He has a method. He has a plan for you. Just as the Lord has a plan for you. He also has a plan for you and you have to understand what his plan is. So you are able to tactically fight against it in prayer. Satan is not random. He is methodical. He is calculated. And his primary battle begins in the mind. Now you can read this in Genesis 3 1, and this was a scripture that early in the year the Lord kept dropping in my spirit. And this is where you see in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve have been created and the Lord has told them that they can eat from every tree apart from the tree of knowledge. And it says her, "Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, 'Did God really say?' Now there's so many times. I'm sorry, I'm not used to give my laptop guys. So bear with me. There's so many times where I have had the enemy say to me, 'Did God really say?' Did God really say that you can't do this? Did God really say that you can't do that? Is that really what he said? Or was he really saying something else? Instead of him doing a blatant attack and him doing something that is obvious, he plants doubt, he plants confusion. And we know this, but when we're attacked, we don't actually take that moment to say, 'This is the enemy. Lord, I see what he's doing. He's planting confusion. He's planting doubt in my mind with whether you have really called me to this. I can tell you after the launch, I was like, 'Lord, I'm going to keep coming back to you because have you really sent us, have you really called us to this place? Because in three months, I have never in my life felt so exasperated. I have never in my life been attacked on the level that I got attacked on. I've never had my name dragged the way my name was dragged for no reason. And I said, 'Lord, I'm not a pity person, pity party person. You can ask me, I'll be like, 'men, I'll get up, get on with it.' But one thing I did is I said, 'Lord, why was this allowed? Because I stand by having clean hands and a pure heart. I stand by honesty. I stand by in everything I do with my children when they ask me honest questions, even sometimes that might not be appropriate. I stand by it. I give them honesty.' And so I said, 'Lord, I'm happy to repent right here right now if I have done anything that is justifiable for what the enemy has outrightly attacked me with.' And the Lord just told me, 'Don't worry about it. And so I laughed and I said, 'I'm worried Jesus, okay? I'm worried about it.' And he said, 'Don't worry about it.' And he led me through Scripture and he told me, 'I will vindicate you. He told me, I will fight to you. He told me, he gave me, he gave me, I want to call it and I can never say this. And no, and then I listen. There we go. Thank you.' He gave me a far-ra breakdown of how he had my back. And that's the kind of God we serve. He's a God that has your back. He's a God of unity. So he will always bring others. I had people come into me who had no clue about what I was going through. Other ministers coming to me and saying, 'The Lord is for you. There are more for you than there are against you. You are called. Don't give up. Continue to press on.' I had people telling me things and I was like, 'Okay, this is a lot now. I know that we are called to the prophetic, but when people start to tell me things that I've cried about in the secret place, that not even my husband knows, it's strange and it can feel uncomfortable, but that is also how the Lord operates because he has to do something contrary to what the enemy is doing. And so what I realized, and I've said this so many times, I said, 'Lord, I don't want to be like Eve. I don't want to be like Eve and I don't want to say, I want to say something back to the enemy. I don't want to just be like, 'Oh, okay, I'll eat the apple.' Or, 'Okay, I'll just get on with it.' No, I want to really question. I want to ask and I want to go back to the Word. Jesus is the best example of that and I'll get to that in a minute before I drop my notes. What the enemy done with Eve is he made her question the voice of God. He distracted her from obedience to God and he used her voice and her actions against herself and her destiny. And that is what he does. He still uses that same strategy today. He whispers, 'God really does God really love you. Did he really call you? Did he really say that he will provide for you? He confuses you with God's voice. He uses God's Word to confuse you.' But anytime, anytime that these things happen, you have to always come back to the Word of God. You have to always come back to Holy Spirit. What are you saying? What are you revealing about this situation? Identify and learn to know when the enemy is talking. Because sometimes you can be in a place and there's so many times I've been amongst believers, I've been amongst even ministers and sometimes people have spoken and said things that are not of God. And I've had to identify it and ensure I don't say amen to it and ensure that I leave on with it. Because now if I say amen, I'm coming into agreement with what you said but actually the Lord told me, no. And so I have to be sure that is not what the Lord is doing and that's not what he's saying. I don't have to outrightly correct it. I don't have to shout it. I just have to be sure that I am faithful to what God has told me to do. So now when Jesus was tempted in this way and I want to take us to Matthew 4 verse 1, verse 1, 2, 4, I may read on. And it says, "Then Jesus was led up by the spirit into the wilderness,
to be tempted by the devil, and after fastened 40 days and 14 nights he was hungry. And the tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread." But he answered, "It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God." And the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, he will command his angels concerning you. And on their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot on a stone." Jesus said to him, "Again, it is written, you shall not put the Lord God to the test." Again the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to him, "All these I will give, if you will fall down and worship me." Then Jesus said to him, "Be gone Satan, for it is written, you shall worship the Lord your God and only him shall you serve." And the devil left him and behold angels came and were ministering to him. Amen. Amen. I want to be faithful like Jesus. I want to ensure that when I am tested by the enemy, I respond with the word. I respond with what God is saying. I don't want to respond in my emotions. As a woman, we can be emotional. As men we can be logical and we can try and talk out of it. But we have to be able to respond with the word. What Satan does is he misquotes scripture. He twists it and he allows you to, he waits. He'll misquote it, he'll twist it and he'll wait for you to see what your response is. But we have to be strong and we have to understand that this also, yes, it's a temptation but the Lord is also allowing this. He's allowing a space to determine what you are going to do. Are you going to respond in the way that you have learnt to respond? Are you going to respond in how do I say this? In a way, my pastor says it in a great way. He says often that test.com because you need to learn something. They come because you've been taught. You have been taught something. And so oftentimes you need to bring yourself into a place where you remember I've learnt this. I've been through this. I've gone through the things that I've gone through and I've been through a lot of things in my life. I am aware that I'm very equipped to handle the devil. I'm equipped to handle demonic forces. I know how to spot a Jezebel. I know how to spot an Ahab. I know how to spot a Delilah. I know how to spot and identify these spirits. Number one, because of discernment, but also because the Lord has revealed it to me through his word. Through his word. Too many times we go into churches and we see there are witches in these churches. I can, I enter churches and I see I'm able to identify a witch within probably five minutes because they give off this aura. I don't even like that word, but they give off this, this, this. You can see it. If you see by the Spirit, ask the Lord to open your spiritual eyes. You're able to see it. Now without the voice of the Lord, you will not be able to handle it. You'll just think some people will go and be like, "Oh, we need to pray. All we need to tell them to get out and we need to do this and we need to do that." When actually sometimes the Lord is just saying, "Wait, wait." Yes, maybe he wants you to pray. Yes, maybe he wants you to confront. Yes, we know the scripture says, "Suffer not a witch to die to live." So he wants witches, number one, first to repent. If they are unrepentant, then there are other ways that the Lord will reveal for you to handle it. But you have to walk closely with the Holy Spirit to know exactly what He is calling you to do. Are you still with me? Amen, are you falling asleep? Is it too hot in here? Do we need more funds? Okay. Amen. So I'm going to move on. The Bible talks about us to guard in our hearts. One thing the Lord was speaking to me about is, "It's so important to guard your mind." So guard your heart, yes, but to guard your mind and to guard your mouth. Because as children of God, we are called to the prophetic. No, we might not all be called as a prophet in terms of the office of the prophet. But we are all called to desire the gift of prophecy. The Bible puts it clearly, desire the gift of prophecy. He desires for you to speak for Him. He desires for you to be the voice to the broken. He desires for you to be the voice of hope and love in the world. And so your voice matters and you have to understand that your voice is important because the enemy wishes to cause it to be impure. As I said earlier, he causes that he wants to dilute your voice. But you have to stay anchored in the Word of God so that when you speak, you're speaking the Word of God. You're not speaking from emotion. You're not speaking from experience or culture. You're speaking from His very Word, His very Spirit. Verse 1821 says that life and death is in the power of the tongue. So your voice carries creative power. When aligned with the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, your voice is able to dictate to an atmosphere. Your voice is able to shift and move things in an atmosphere. I'll give a little testimony here. When I moved into my house in London, I moved out of my mom's house and moved into my own place, the landlord decided to tell me that, "Oh, nobody's wanted this house because guess what? The woman who lived here murdered her husband and she kept her, she took the wheelie bin and put him in the wheelie bin and put him in the bedroom and she kept him in the bedroom and she's done all of this, this, this and that." And I was just like, "Oh, amazing, I'll take it, that's great." Because I understood I was rooted in the Lord and whatever murderous spirit, whatever spirits that were roaming in the house were about to leave. Because I understood the power of my tongue and I was only 21 and I had only, I was very zealous at that moment because I had just come back to the Lord. I had stepped out, I was living in the world, I was doing things in the world and then I was just like, I had such a crazy transformation and then I was just like, "Lord, if I'm really here, I need to follow you wholeheartedly." So now when the landlord told me this, I just was like, "Great, amazing. It's everything I've prayed about. The kitchen is huge. It's a two bedroom space for me and my daughter because I was a single mom and I really wanted a two bedroom house because everywhere in London they were only offering you one bedroom places and I was just like, "How is she supposed to have space? How am I supposed to have space?" And I needed space. So I said to the Lord, "Lord, I want a two bedroom house with a nice sized kitchen and a garden where I can grow with my family." And the Lord presented it in that moment. But what the enemy tried to do is he tried to make me hear, "Oh, somebody was killed in this place. You don't want to live there." And I said, "No." So as I walked with her and this place is an upside-down house so the bedrooms are downstairs and the living room is upstairs. And as I walked downstairs into the bedroom, I started to feel cold and I started to feel uncomfortable and I started to feel like, "Oh my gosh, okay, somebody was killed here. Lord, I can feel it. I can sense like there's a spirit here." And we went into the bedroom and I said, "Lord, there's something in here and I'm actually a little bit nervous." But I said, "That's great. Let me take it." So what I did after that, I went back to my church, I told my pastors, I told my aunties, I come from a praying family and I'm so thankful because it was not always that way. This was by seed and by one person.
sewing and praying and shifting and bringing us all into alignment. And so when I told them they came together and we entered the house, we anointed the house, we prayed over every room, we prayed over every area, every window, every entry point. Now when it came to the bedroom, the warfare that began, I had never experienced this. I heard my auntie praying in tongues that I had never heard before. These were like, I've still up to this day, I've never heard these kind of tongues. They were like angelic tongues. They were like, I don't know, 8K, 25 type of tongues. But they were something else. And I was like, I was like, I'm still a baby in Christ. So I was very like, oh my gosh, okay, praying, praying, praying. And then one thing I realized, something shifted. And then they started to identify the spirits that were in the space. And I was learning. So I was like, I'm here to learn, I'll pray, but I'm here to learn. And you guys are going to teach me that amen will cost the spirits out. And we did. But one thing I realized is that was not the battle one. Because I thought they were going to come pray, get the spirits out, amen, they gone, and I have a home. No, the battle begun when I moved in. And when I was there with my two-year-old, where I started to hear the doors knocking. And I started to see things moving and shadows moving. And I started to say, oh my gosh, I've seen this in a movie. I don't want to be high. I was like, Jesus, no, get me out. And I called my pastor. There was one that I called my pastor at 3 AM and she told me, you need to declare Psalm 51. You need to declare Psalm 91. You need to start to declare the Word of God over your home. You need to take up your authority. And you need to learn how to war. And I just said, I'm not ready. I want to be about the cute Christian life and just get on with my, you know. But in that moment, I realized I have a child in this house. And I need to protect her. So what I did is I got up. I took up my authority and I used my mouth and I declared scripture. And that's when I really started to realize life and death are in the power of the tongue. They are in the power of your tongue. What you speak over your life you will see. Just like the scripture says, what you sow, you will also reap. This is not just about bad things. This is also in good things. I've also testified how I've sowed. I've been, I'm someone who has, who serves. I have always served with my, with any church I've been under hospitality, ushering. I've been in the welcome desk. I've been in the worship team. I've been in admin. I've been, I've served. I've even tried to be an armor bearer. That was an interesting time. But the Lord has blessed me in the spaces that I've been so because I have so no service. I'm now in a season where I see, I don't ask for it, but people are happy to come and serve and help me where I may need help. Even when I'm very, I would say I'm very independent, but I'm very like, I'm okay. I can do it. It's fine. No. I'm not the first lady that's going to sit here and be like, Amen, hello, pray for you one time. Whatever. I'm very much, I'm part of this. And I believe even I say to my husband when we get our first building, I will also be their laboring, painting the walls, hanging up whatever needs to be hung up because I understand that God, yes, he builds his church, but he also partners with us. And we need to partner with the Lord and say, Lord, what are you designing for us to do? I'm not here to be just a person apart. What's the word? The Scripture says about partaking. I'm not just here to partake and just be like, thank you Jesus. I'm not doing anything. I'm here to labour. And so I encourage you to be one who labour, labour with your mouth. That's the first part. You pray, you decree, you declare, you get the enemy out. You shut the door to him. And then you allow the Lord to take over. I don't know how much time I've got left, but I'm going to transpide up. My next point was, deciding the Holy Spirit versus the counterfeit Holy Spirit. First John 4-1. And if anybody's there before me, please could you read it for me? Okay, I'm there. So it says, Beloved, do not believe every Spirit, but test the Spirit to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world. I'm going to read verse 2 as well. It says, by this you know the Spirit of God. Every Spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God and every Spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the Spirit of the Antichrist which you heard was come in and now is in the world already. Amen. So if you don't test the Spirit, you will not number one identify whether this is the Holy Spirit speaking for a person or whether this is the counterfeit Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will always testify of himself. He will always testify of Jesus Christ. He will always testify of the Word of God. The counterfeit Holy Spirit will always lead a stray. It will speak of God and it will speak of Scripture, but it will also bring this unity and it will also speak dishonor. The Holy Spirit, especially when you spend time getting to know Holy Spirit, he encourages, he stars and he aligns you with the Word of God. The counterfeit Holy Spirit manipulates. Now I say counterfeit Holy Spirit because that's the Spirit that is imitating the Holy Spirit. I don't believe that in Scripture it necessarily speaks of the Spirit in that way, but it speaks of spirits that imitate the Holy Spirit. It speaks of spirits that imitate God. And so it will manipulate through guilt, through fear, through pride and also through flattery. Acting as though it's bringing unity when actually it's bringing disunity. In this moment you have to be aware that the enemy in this space can use, he can misuse your voice. So you have to learn to identify so that you can defeat. I'm not going to have time to go into this, but this is where it got serious. Okay. I'm going to try and go through this very quickly. So this is my main scripture. You know what's praying, the Lord was talking to me about the voices in Birmingham. Now this includes everybody who's grown up here, who was born here, even those who have left the city. And he was talking to me about a specifically called, called you lightbearers. And he said, Birmingham, Birmingham is destinely.
is in the mouth of its light bearers. If you don't understand the power of your voice and if you don't understand the enemy's strategy to keep your mouth shut, then you will not be the light that God has called you to be, the light of the world. Let me get you to raise your hands because I really want to know what your reality is with Birmingham. Now who who looks at Birmingham and says this is an amazing place? At least we have one. Okay. But I'm going to miss amazing guys. Maybe because I didn't grow up here, but Birmingham is amazing. Okay, so who looks at this city and says this is dark? Okay, so there's more hands for that one. Yeah. It is dark, but you are the light. This as light Birmingham, we haven't come here to just be a church. We say this all the time, but we haven't come here to just be a church that situates or places itself in Birmingham, but we have intentionally taken it as a serious form of strategy to connect with other churches and other leaders in the land to understand vision, to understand direction because the Lord has placed them here. We're not here to just come and say, oh, where the greatest church come and join us, where where here to bring revival and deliverance and all of the stuff. No, we're not here to do that. But what we're here to do is to partner with what God has already situated in this city because what we believe that we carry is something that is going to break the cap. Why where I said that the churches have been capped? I believe that we carry a fire and we carry something that is able to break the cap that the enemy has placed over this city, but not just this city, the Midlands. And so the vision is great. It's a huge one. It supersedes us because it's not about us. It's about those who are in this city. So now if I was you and if I lived in this city and when I live in this city knowing that it's a dark place, knowing that there are spirits and principalities that reside over this city, I'm going to begin to use my mouth. I'm going to begin to pull down things. I'm going to begin to take it seriously because what I've realized is Jesus did not die for me to be mediocre. He didn't die for me to be just a simple person who is about herself and that is doing whatever she wants to do. No, he died so that I could come into partnership with him so that I could understand that he didn't die for just me and just the people in the church, but he died for the Muslims on the corner. He died for every single person that you see that doesn't understand him. I read something this week about how Muslims are given their lives to Christ in such an increased amount in this season. Hallelujah! They're coming to the Lord, they're having dreams, they're having visions, they're having encounters, they're receiving evangelism where before they would want to argue and they would want to debate, they're receiving Christ. This is amazing, but it's one step because the witches need to be delivered also. They need to put down their sorcery, they need to turn away from darkness, they need to unyoke themselves from Satan. The Lord is looking to deliver. He's always been about deliverance, but he's looking to deliver and we have to catch that heart. Sometimes we're too consumed, I've realized even in the short time that I've been here and this might sound harsh because nobody likes it when you come into a place and you start, somebody starts picking up, well this is wrong or this is wrong or this is wrong, but actually what the Lord is doing, he's not just highlighting the issues that are here, he's highlighting it so that he can bring change, so that he can stir the hearts that are in this place, so that he can bring back hope, so that he can bring back a hunger because Birmingham has lost its hunger. It's lost this hunger. You're not hungry enough for a move of God. You're too used to Sunday services. I could weat this, you don't understand. This is a serious thing. Sunday is not enough. The Lord died so that he can have you Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. He died so that you could be brought in and he desires for every single person out in this city to know him and to hunger after him also. I believe that Birmingham will be a city that is set on fire for God. I believe that Birmingham will be a city that will bring revival for the UK where London may have been ahead. Birmingham is going to supersede it and then all the other cities are going to come in to understand and agreement and they're going to realize, wow, we slept on Birmingham. We thought Birmingham was over. That is what the Lord is trying to do. He's trying to uproot and he's trying to bring reformation. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Lord. He's trying to restore the communities. He's trying to restore the families. It is time for your family members to know Christ. It's time for your communities to know Christ, your neighbours. How beautiful would that be? You knock on your neighbours' door. Do you want to do Bible study? It would be beautiful. Come on. This is what God wants. This is what He wants. He needs for us to stand in the gap. So we need to know His voice. We need to understand and discern what are you saying Holy Spirit? What are you saying over, over Birmingham because it includes me. It includes my destiny. It includes my child's destiny. It includes my husband's destiny. It includes my family's destiny. It includes my friends' destiny. Lord what are you saying? The Lord told me that Birmingham is a dry land. I said, "Hello well." I said, "Lord." I said, "Wow." But do you know what's beautiful about a dry land? There is space for God. I was meant to go back to Ezekiel 37. So let me go there quickly. And so it says in verse 1, "The hand of the Lord was upon me and He brought me out in the spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley. It was full of bones and He led me around among them and behold there were very many on the surface of the valley and behold they were very dry." And He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" And I answered, "Oh Lord God, you know." Then He said to me, "Profess eye over these bones that and say to them, 'Oh dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.'" Thus says the Lord God to these bones, "Behold, I will cause breath to enter you and you shall live. And I will say, I will lay sin use upon you and I will cause flesh to come upon you and cover you with skin and put breath in you and you shall live and you shall know that I am the Lord. So I prophesied and I commanded and as I prophesied there was a sound and behold a rattling and the bones came together bone to its bone and I looked and behold there were sin use on them and flesh had come upon them and skin had covered them but there was no breath in them." Then He said to me, "Profess eye to the breath, prophesize son of man and say to the breath, thus says the Lord God come from the four winds of
breath and breathe on these salines that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me and the breath came into them and and they lived and stood on their feet and exceedingly great army. Then he sent to me, son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, our bones are dried up and our hope is lost. We are indeed cut off. Therefore prophesied and say to them, "Thus says the Lord God, behold, I will open your graves and raise you from graves. Oh my people and I will bring you into the land of Israel and you shall know that I am the Lord when you open your graves and you raise from your graves. Oh my people and I will put my spirit within you and you shall live and I will place in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord. I have spoken and I will do it. Declare's the Lord. Amen. Amen. Some of you need to prophesy to Birmingham. Some of you need to begin to open up your mouth and prophesy to this city that it will no longer be dry, that it will begin to hear the word of the Lord that the Lord has declared that revival will fill this city. Some of you need to begin to open up your mouth. Come on stand up right now. You need to begin to open up your mouth and prophesy to this city and declare here the word of the Lord of Birmingham because it is time that you are going to be open to what the Lord has declared for this land. Father we prophesy in the name of Jesus that this land will no longer be dry, that this land will no longer be buried, that this land will no longer be dark, that this land will no longer be violent, that this land will no longer expose the enemy's tactic. Father we're praying that his tactic will no longer be what is running in this city. Reya Basurya Katababa. Father we are praying that hit that the enemy will no longer be president in this land but we are the caloric old God that you will feel this place that those who are called like bearers in this city they will not just linger around with their mouth shut but they will begin to beg and ask for a hunger. You need to. no stop praying, stop praying, stop praying. Some of you need to take this seriously. You need to take this seriously. This is not just another moment of prayer. If you understand that the spirit of God is here then you need to begin to actually open your mouth and get your mindset on what he plans to do. This is not follow prophet Jdan pray and declare. This is your city. Father we cry out to you right now. We cry out to you right now O Lord. We cry out to you O Lord. Father we are asking right now for a hunger, a hunger to pray for this city, a hunger that says enough is enough. No more bloodshed, no more anger, no more evil. Father we are asking for a hunger that is able to direct us in prayer that we will no longer just sit and be satisfied with what it is. With hearing another one has been stabbed, with hearing another one has been shot, with hearing another person has gone to prison. Father we are asking for a hunger. Father give us this hunger and this desperation we are praying O God. Reaba we cry out to you right now Lord. We give us this hunger. O Reaba we are the of us. We are asking right now Lord we are you sure us even in the midnight hour to pray and to cry out for this city. Father we are asking for a new hunger where we become complacent O God. Reaba Suriakataba. Reakaya Basuriakataya. Rekeyanana Suriakataya. Reaba Suriakataba. Reba Reba Reba Basuriakataba. Rekeyanana We have. For those who don't know you, Father, awaken our spirit mind. Awake in our spirit mind, O God. We're praying right now for an awakening. Rehaka taba. Rehaka yababa. Rha kata ba seteta ya rehana ma. Rha kata ba ba. Jesus! >> >> [the beautiful expression of Jesus] >> >> >> >> >> >> >> >> >> >> safe space where we could be familiar, where we could just come and just sit and just be, further we repent, even when you're calling us to go deeper, where you're calling us to go deeper. Aura Riyakata Ba Suriakaya, I just hear the Lord say it. He is calling you to go deeper. I just hear it on a loo. He wants your heart. He doesn't want a portion of it. He wants your whole heart. For you to see a true shift in this city. For you to see hope restored. For you to see joy restored. For you to see unity. For you to see love and care and nurture. You have to be the first. Riyakata Ba Suriakata Ba Ba Ba Ya. Rikita Don't Get Tired. Don't Get Tired. Don't Get Tired.
I come on press, press, and press, and press, and, Father, we ask our God that we will be your hands and feet in this land. We ask our God that we will be your hands and your feet in this land. Father, we're asking that we will be the hope to the hopeless, that we will be the door of God in which they understand that you came and you lived and you died for them while they were in sin. Father, we're praying that we will be a reflection of Jesus, just like he said, I only do what I see my father doing. Father, may we be one to only do what we see our Lord and our Savior doing. Father, may we be one to crucify this flesh. May we be one to crucify this flesh. (congregation laughing) Help me Lord to crucify my flesh. Help me Lord to pick up my cross. Help me Lord to deny myself. Help me Lord to follow your ways. Help me Lord to decree what you tell me to decree. (congregation laughing in foreign language) You see, is Zechio understood? He understood that he stood in a hopeless situation. He understood that he was standing in a hopeless situation. Can you imagine being in a valley that was filled with dry bones? Can you actually imagine it? That you're standing in a valley that is filled with dry bones and the Lord is telling you, this is up to you. This is your job. I will instruct you and I will partner with you, but this is your job. That is what the Lord is saying. This is up to you. Oh, God, no. This is up to you, Rekia. This is up to you, Anne. This is up to you, Denise. This is up to you, Tiana. This is up to you, Ricardo. It is up to you, Julius. It is up to you, Adam. It is up to you. To be his hands and his feet. It is a privilege, one that we don't deserve. But yet, he's allowed us to be this. So you have to break everything that is on the inside of you, that is contrary to what the Lord is telling you to do. You need to begin to stir yourself on the inside and say, Lord, where I've been hopeless, where I've been placed in a hopeless situation, and you have called me just because I'm hopelessness, to the hopeless situation. Father, I will speak hope to the hopeless situation. I even prophesied to myself. I prophesied that you will be a woman of God, that you will walk in the ways of the Lord. (chanting) (chanting) I hear the Lord saying, he is brother to your heart right now. He's beginning to drop desire and hunger. He's beginning to drop assignment to destiny. He's beginning to drop it into your spirit, man. If you will just say, come on, Lord, will you give me my assignment for this season? (chanting) (chanting) (chanting) (chanting) (chanting) (chanting) (chanting) (chanting) The Lord is calling for us to have hearts that give, hearts that love, hearts that serve, hearts that desire to reflect Him. (chanting) If we are not doing this, we are not reflecting Christ. It says in 2 Corinthians 520, that we are therefore Christ ambassadors. You have to ask yourself, am I living as a true ambassador? Am I reflecting Christ because I'm telling you, where it says in the Word of God that many will come before the Lord Jesus and they will say, Lord, Lord, didn't I prophesy in your name? Lord, Lord, didn't I do this, this and that in your name? And He will say, depart from me, you and workers of iniquity. He will say depart from me, I never knew you. That's what He will say because we were compromised, because we allowed contamination to get in, because we allowed things to take over where we sought the Lord, but we didn't truly follow the Lord. (chanting) (chanting) Will you be Christ ambassador in this land? That's a question for you to respond to the Lord. Will you be His ambassador when people look at you? Can they testify? I see Jesus. Can they testify? I'm actually broken. I'm broken into pieces because what I've realised and what I've heard and there will be many testimonies from different people. Some people will have not nice things to say about me because maybe they didn't give enough time to get to know my heart, because maybe they were offended by something I said that may be triggered, something that they did.
went through in their childhood, something happens. Everybody has a story I'm triggered sometimes by what people say, but I take it to the Lord and I allow him to speak his words that are like honey to my soul. But I was broken this weekend when I sat a table for my birthday and I had people speak testimonies of what I have done in their life. This is not about pride. This is something that broke me because I said, Lord, I am not anything without you, I am not anything. This is a revelation I understand. I am nothing. I am nothing. I will continue to say it because for those of you who don't know, I was a prostitute. I was a sex worker. I was a broken young girl who didn't know the Lord even though I gave my life to him. I desired the things of the world. I desired to be loved. I desired to be comforted because I was abandoned by my father when I was a young girl. So I was always seeking after a father's love. I am nothing. Without the Lord I am nothing. What kind of God would see my sin, the stain as bright as red as a scripture speaks about as crimson blood. That's how I was covered in. I was stained in shame. But this God whose reductive love snatched me up, snatched me up and you have your own story. You have your own story. Sometimes you need to reflect on it. It might feel like you're talking about it all the time. This is not for this to get glory. The story is not the glory, the father and what he done. That is the glory. So sometimes we need to trigger ourselves and get ourselves back to that place of Lord, what have you done for me? Because I'm nobody for anybody to say anything nice about all. I thank you for doing this or without you. I wouldn't have been here or without. It's crazy to me. Only my children, only my children, should be the ones who say that. But what it taught me is that the things I've done in secret, the things I've done behind closed doors, not for applause, not for anybody to see, not for any other reason, but because the Lord has transformed, had transformed my heart so much that I now desire to. How do I say this Lord? I desire to just breathe life over others to breathe love, to defuse his love, to give his love to others. That's what he wants of you in this city, in this place where people have lost their hope, their tired, their tired of church, they're still coming but they're tired. The Lord wants to meet with the broken. He wants to meet with those who desire relationship but he's tired of his church being broken. It's time for us to get up to allow the full healing to come so that we can go out there where the true broken ones are and speak life over them. I'm telling you that moment where you share the gospel and somebody grabs it and they get it. It's transformative. It transforms your heart. Amen. So Father, I just pray right now. I pray Lord that even as we've been praying and we've been seeking your face, we've been asking all God for a greater depth of hunger. We've been asking all God for transformation, for a heart for the hopeless, for those of this city. Lord, we've been asking all God that we will even be ones who will begin to speak your word over this land. We need the courage and we need the action from the Holy Spirit. We can't do it without you. So Lord, we ask you right now, will you just speak to us even as we go away today? Will you just speak to us, oh God, minister to our souls? Help us remember assignment. So Father, get us out of this space where we come to be filled and we come to be prophesied over and we come to receive a word and to receive healing. Lord, let us be your hands and feet that we may be the ones who you use to bring healing to others. Lord, I just pray. I pray that over everybody in this room in the name of Jesus. Amen. Amen.
