Vogue’s Best Dressed and Biggest Wins From the 2026 Oscars

Welcome, Christian Alair, Taylor Andrew, Chomanati are morning after award season crew, night owls and early birds. Early bird morning. Good morning. How late were you up Chloe? 1230. Yeah, sounds right. After party at 222. Yeah, Lloyd was bragging. This morning we are joined by our colleagues Taylor Andrew and Christian Alair who I already just welcomed. Yes, we're still very happy to be here. You were excited about the Oscars right? We are. We are. We're also excited for a climactic crescendo end to award season. Okay. Are you going to correct my use of crescendo? Yeah, I'm like, is that that's future tense? So what's still to happen? Well, I think of the Met as like something coming, but you're right. Oh, we may. Okay, I'm just fixing it because I use crescendo. But this was a very exciting award show I thought all season long we've been waiting for this big moment. We've been obviously robustly covering each and every award show. There's them to be more every season. But first, trauma, I have to say, it is my favorite litmus test to check in with you since you were sleeping peacefully when this was all going down. And here, what made it through to you this morning? What were the highlights on the other side of the pond? Well, I think everybody's been thinking about this Oscar race between sinners and Wambar after another. And I think Michael B. Jordan winning really came through my feed really strongly. I also feel that Jesse Buckley from All Angles from the from the fashion perspective, the moment she hit the red carpet, that beautiful romantic ethereal Chanel dress that she wore was just perfect and just fit for for an Oscar winner. And then her beautiful speech and talking about the chaos that exists inside her mother's heart. I thought it was really moving and gorgeous. And I hope Chloe that resonated with you because I thought it was beautiful. Chaos exists for me in all areas. Exuding chaos. It looked like a really fun night. It looked like a fun, exciting awards show. I mean, I could go on about best dress, but we'll get into that a little bit later. Okay, let's go into best dressed. Trauma. Yeah, who was your best dress from the night? There were so, so many beautifully dressed people there. For me, it had to be Wamy Masaku. I think she just looked incredible in Vuitton. I think it's so difficult to dress when you're expecting because your body is changing so rapidly. I imagine that she's probably changed size over the cause of this award season. So shout out to all the tailors who've had to readjust these dresses. She's going along. Shout out to the tailors. Yeah, she hasn't had a misstep yet. And I thought that beautiful green, emerald green sparkling Vuitton dress was just perfection. I also thought Renato Rinsvy looked amazing in that very simple Louis Vuitton column that had long slipped up to her thigh on the side, but was just incredibly elegant. And she was all in red, red lip, red shoe red dress. She looked stunning. Oh, my favorite of the season Odessa Azzayon in Valentino. She just does what she wants. Yeah, she shows up as herself. And I think that very few actors get that kind of license, creative license to just be themselves. And she looked incredible in this. I don't know whether it was pants or it was a robe, but it was an embroidered black velvet look from Valentino that just looks stunning. And she just looked so comfortable and cool. And then she wore this quite insane, insane Harris read number to the to the Vanity Fair after party looked incredible. She was corseted with these very high, I don't know what to call them, like exaggerated epilets cause they were literally like wings. They look like parts of a spaceship. I would have if I were her, I would have done the inverse. I would have been comfortable at the after party. No, no, no, no, no, okay. I think the after party you can go wild, you can go crazy. You want to show up because I mean, it must be so intimidating going to the Oscars for the first time as a new actor. Don't you think? I'd want to be absolutely comfortable. And then you can let your hair down and let your inner freak flag fly at the at the after party. So I thought I thought she made the right choice in dressing that way. But yeah, those those are some of the standouts for me. But how about you guys? What we started a new best dress rubric or awards rubric that we all sort of workshop together called the Vogue Awards. And we they're really fun. We have the Gwyneth Paltrow Award for leading lady, which goes to sort of the Aujanou, who's about to win an award, which Jesse Buckley really nailed that. I thought she looked amazing and her Chanel. We had the Cher Award for Best Show Girl Moment, which for us went to Demi Moore in her feathered incredible Gucci dress, which I absolutely love. Feathers Christian were big trends now. Huge trend. I'm who else were the Nicole Kidman Moore, Tiana, Tiana, both Nicole and Tiana in Chanel. Tiana's feathered was the best one. I have to say the most most innovative use of feathers, gorgeous and effortless. Amy Maligan. Oh, and Amy Maligan was avian like. Yeah. She won the best suit in my opinion. She looks fat. I'm surprised there weren't more suits last night. I know. I thought it too. She was one of the few. We also have the Angelina Julia Award for Best Slit, which run out of one in spades. Gwyneth Paltrow also had a huge high slit. She's a great T-slit, but it was a secret slit. Yes. That's cool. What was that, Hermione? That was Hermione. Yep. When was the famous Angelina, Jolie high slit? When was that? What year was that? Because that was where we. I was so chey. I want to say 2012. I remember that moment. That was just it broke the internet. And ever since then, I think we've just been calling it the Angelina Jolie Slit. I know. It's amazing. But Christian, who else were your best dressed of the night? I loved a lot of the men. I loved Pedro Piscale's Chanel. I think men often just wear beautiful flowers. Yeah. They just wear like a blazer, 99% of the time. It was fun to see someone throw out the blazer, wear it just a shirt, but a huge fabulous brooch. It was fab. Just shirt. So fab. Those sexy little glasses. Love. Joe Alwind too, in Valentino, his little loose bow tie. Yeah. These little details. There's a lot of floppy bows. A lot of floppy bows. Jesse Buckley for me is also my favorite dressed. I feel like there's never enough color on the red carpet. People are really afraid of color these days. It reminded me of that loopita moment. I think that was like an appropriate dress to wear for someone who's going to win Oscar. For me, it's like a Disney princess, but making fashion. It was exactly like that. I don't think we've seen a moment like that since loopitas that blue prod address. I also loved El Fanning and Jivashi by Ser Burton. It was very grace Kelly, the white, strapless, full skirt. And I'm sure necklace from 1904, which I thought was fab. We love in archival. Yeah. So fab. Speaking of accessories, I loved Jacobalortis jazz shoes. It's a little botega. It was kind of like I'm going to do whatever I want. I also love the Cape of Demon Hunter girls in their coordinated gold dresses, Dior, Tom Brown. And they looked fabulous. I love their performance. Obviously, blessedly, my children were already asleep, but it would have been a big moment. Were you pleased that the world had finally caught up with your enthusiasm for Cape of Demon Hunter? Trust me, the world caught up. That was my joke. I loved EJ's speech that one, how she was saying how she used to be made fun of for loving Cape of. And now she went on Oscar for it. I thought that was cool. I know she was gobbling up all the time, a lot of her speech. And the minute she passed the mic, they were like lights down, music up, period. It was not a great night for being played off. Christian, tell us about all of your favorite jewels because they were big jewelry. Oh my God. There were so many diamonds last night. I was like a guest, but also pleased. Clutching your pearls. My favorite was Kate Hudson. She wore garati, which I'm not too familiar with, but she wore over 35 million dollars worth of diamonds. Yeah, but they were rare green diamonds. Now, Jail is interested. Very rare green diamonds. I guess 35 million dollars for over. - I'm very 35 million, yes. - I actually, I'd be curious on the logistics of guards at the office. - Me too, were they able to table? - Yes, they're close by. I think they all have a date, so they just sort of like linger around. - And they're incognito in the audience. - Yeah. - Wow, what they're like. - They're like feet away. - That's a vote of business article. - What do they wear, yeah? - They know life would-- - Who dressed the guards? - Yes! - Do you have to run in Tuxedo if you're a fair $35 million diamond guard? - Probably. - One imagines Cartier gets you at Tuxedo. - Oh, good point, good point. - Yeah, yeah, all right. - It's in their riders. - It's in the riders. (laughing) - We need to do it, get ready with me with one of the guys. - Definitely. - Literally. - Oh my god, one of those opportunities. - All right, I'm doing it right now. - 2027 is all ready to go. - Love. - But I feel like for the past few awards seasons, like people have been wearing like hefty diamonds. It's been very simple on the jewelry side, I feel, and this Oscar's like everyone was wearing a huge diamond necklace, like I think of Anne Hathaway in Bulgaria, Prankocho Pregonis in Bulgaria. - My favorite Roseburn was wearing a tag. - A half-in, cognac colored diamond. - Yeah, she look great. A little more subdued, that type of thing. - I love Rose, she looks so fab, friend of the pod. - Friend of the pod, yeah, exactly. - My favorite jewelry of the night was Haviy Abadem, who re-walled his note to War badge that he wore in 2003. I love that he did that. - Oh, I didn't know it was his badge in 2003. - Yeah, yeah. - Christian, I also loved your piece on all the costume designers who a lot of them made their own outfits for the Oscar's, and that felt like a nice off-piece from everyone who has very elaborate deals with big brands. - Yes, I'm gonna butcher this name. Malgocia, Tuzanska. Did I say that right? - Wow. - You're asking the wrong person. - You guys know that? Well, the fabulous, hamlet costume designer. - Oh, one. - Yeah, it's a one. Sort of spent the whole weekend safety pinning her own dress, and I thought that was fab. Like just, she had a vision, she executed it, and yes, you're right. Like in a time where people can easily get things from designers, I think it's really fab that she took the time, executed her vision, and went for it. - I mean, also speaking of the business of dressing for Oscars, Vogue business did a really good, deep dive on all the business of brand ambassadorships and the different, I thought it was really interesting. Maddie Schult wrote it on the different tiers of ambassadorship. It's like ambassador, face of, friend of the house, and they each have different qualifications and obligations attached to them. I posted it on my Instagram and a friend who's a writer wrote back, she was, this article was my Pentagon papers. (laughing) - Wow. - Christian, any favorite vintage moments? - Yes, another costume designer, actually. Miyako Belizzi wore a georgaliano from spring 99. I thought that was fab, it's so cool. - Miyako's so cool. - She's been around for a long time in New York. She was the costume designer from Marty's Supreme and she just looked fab. I loved her like Goth glam. - I think she's like the breakout award season star. She just always looks fab on the record. And has interesting choices as far as designers and who she will, I love that she will. I think at one point she will, one of the Versace looks from Dario's collection. - Taste, she's a level woman with taste. - She has it in spades. - There really wasn't that much vintage last night, actually, like, besides an outfanding and like her archival necklace, like even jewelry, there wasn't a lot of vintage either. I'm surprised. - Oh, but let's talk about Kylie, not vintage, but wearing her scaper-really keyhole dress in Jessica Rabbit Red. But then it was a re-wear-ish of, she wore the pink version a few years ago. I guess it's like the version of getting the same look in every color, 'cause Timothy did the same thing. - Yes, that's true. - Timothy has been wearing the same suit, just had it done in a million different colors. - Yes, didn't work. (laughing) - Well, Timmy. - I was, well, Timmy, I mean. - He'll get his at some point. - But the ballet gate was after the voting close. That was a big moment for, we put that to AI last night 'cause where I was like, how am I gonna get an answer to this? And I was like, hey, Claude, what? Well, Timmy, these ballet comments before are after the voting close. And there was an answer right there for me. - Wow, it's after. - Even too. - Two of life with Claude. (laughing) - I like to call it Claude or Ella House. (laughing) - Speaking of ballet, I loved Lila's story on Misty Copeland wearing a costume. - Oh, I know the original Firebird costume. - It was gorgeous. - It was gorgeous. - Yeah. - That performance was, I think, my favorite of the night. Liam was so excited he was slacking me. Liam has two works in the London office. He was like, the Oscars are two hours earlier than usual, he and me and Kate. He said two because of daylight savings. So he's starting at 11 a.m. instead of 1 a.m. 11 p.m. instead of 1 a.m. So Joe, we have no excuse. - Sorry. - We're still awake at 11 p.m. I'm willing to bet. - What's it's late? I thought his intro, dressed as a Madigan's character from "Weapons With Fantastic." Oh, I'm in the bag for Conan O'Brien, love Conan O'Brien. So I was very excited and I thought he killed it last year and I'm sure he, I mean, there was a joke about how he's gonna be Oscars presenter for life at the end. No, I thought his jokes were sort of fine. I was like, when the prize mates bit came up and I was genuinely laughing, I thought, okay, well, this is funny. And I felt like there hadn't been enough quite sort of like real ha ha moments. Good thoughts. Yeah, it was a good fall light evening for me. It felt like the world is so complicated and the industry is so complicated that people were sort of like a little bit careful maybe with the humor or like the thing about Hamlet sounding like lunch meat. I was like, I'm not sure this is funny. Oh, gosh. I thought about that. Yeah, okay, I see. I liked his Timmy opera gay joke. I feel like he could have been really mean about that but it was like just a bit of a roast but not too much. Like I thought he handled it well. I feel like Timmy was like on beta blockers. He was just so sanguine when he made that joke. I was like, he'd been prepping for that the whole day long. Oh, see, I thought the laughter, the first laughter coming out of Timmy and Kylie was just like rage laughter. (laughing) Like we are ready to do this and laugh and have smiles on our face but we are dead inside right now. I can't wait for the lip reading. Like the break down. Well, what people are saying? Well, actually saying at the tables. Well, people were saying last night that the whole crowd in general seemed like they were on beta blockers. Like all the celebrities seemed nervous. I don't know if you guys caught that but I felt like they were in the crowd. Like they were almost afraid to laugh at jokes. It was bizarre, I found. These things are such big business and so important for the personal branding campaigns of these celebrities that it was hard to imagine anyone even having a drink. You know? Like when Paul Thomas Anderson was like, "Let's have a martini." I thought like you have not had one to this point. For sure and you are genuinely looking forward to all of this being over so you can relax but good job for Paul Thomas Anderson. You love PTA. Well, I do. I do and I was like, I thought it was a nice moment for someone who's like been in the business for so long and has had so many movies. I was surprised it was his first. And getting one finally. No, no, I agree. It was exciting. What, obviously for those who aren't following Taylor's quick pattern, one battle after another was the triumphant a best picture winner at the end of the night. First and last time Chloe ever remarks on me having quick pattern. (laughing) But yeah. Speaking of quick pattern, the big moment, Chomo we haven't talked about the big moment of the night yet which I didn't find out about until Sunday morning. Of course she didn't. I, everything has to do with her. She did a great job. She did a great job. We don't know what we're talking about. Anna Wentor presented best costume designer with Anna Halfaway and we were all so proud of her. We thought she did great. I thought she was very funny. Anna's very good at being in on the joke. Yes, yes. She's funny. Anna's funny. And she was genuinely on trend in black and white, Dior skirt suit that was amazing. I thought there was so much black and white on the red carpet. Yeah, and a lot of Dior. Yeah. Tell her, listening already, it's what she did. So she came out with Anna Halfaway. She came out with Anna Halfaway to present. the award for Best Costume Designer and-- - No sunglasses on, that was part of the part of the day. - No sunglasses on, which I sort of gasped at that. (laughing) - I mean, nobody wears sunglasses on the Oscar stage, so you gasping, it's like, (laughing) Oh my gosh, she's breaking broken. (laughing) It's like nighttime indoors, but you're like, go out. - And she and Anne had a very cute riparté where Anne asked her if she liked to dress and then Anne slipped the sunglasses on and said no comment. But then Anne had to read very long names, but I was impressed with her. She workshopped those. She was a good student. They, it was a very well-received bit, and then they went off stage, and then you saw the camera pan to them backstage, and it's Anna and Anne laughing, and then between them is Anna's assistant Emily. And Emily looked fantastic, but it was a perfect devilish product meta moments. - Oh my goodness. - The real Emily between Anne Hathaway and Anna, and Emily looked fabulous, so I'm really happy for her. - Send me that. - I missed that bit. I didn't see that picture. - I posted it last night, I was so excited. - Oh my god, I'm checking your stories right now. - Other favorite presenters. - Bridesmaids, mention them, they were great. - You know, I was, it was funny. There was Jesse Buckley's wonderful speech that Joma already mentioned and was great, and I guess my stream was on a lag or whatever, so I was following along with the staff Slack channel, and our beloved Marley Marius was like, I am so uncomfortable that she was writing, and I was like, I'm such a sit-up, so dead at heart, the earnestness of Jesse Buckley who we love, I was like, same Marley, but actually what she was referring to was during Cold Kidman and you were a Gregor coming out for some kind of low-key Moulin Rouge, you know, or you mean? - 25 years, but they started sort of kind of singing, but not really singing. - Didn't commit to it. - And it was so awkward. - Yes. - And Marley was just squirmant. - Totally, totally, totally. (laughing) - You look very nice, great, though. I'd forgotten about him. I was like, what a man he is. - Zendaya and Robert Pattinson was very exciting. Zendaya was, you know, in her full bridal moment because the drama is about getting married and she just got married, and she joined as part of promo for the drama, a real couple who got married in Las Vegas. And that was a really fun article that Annika Follett did this weekend. - That was such good mocking. - I know. - I'm anointed this trend at Star Skipping the Carpet, though, both Zendaya and Robert Pattinson skipped carpet. - Doesn't make Christian job it easier. - Just give us a moment. Come on now, don't save it for the ceremony. - Yeah, who else skipped? Someone else, oh, Victoria, with Leo. Kylie Jenner always skipped the carpet. - Yes, of the wax. - The wack. - The sneaky wags. Taylor, what were the big upsets? - Well, I think, I was looking for drama going into the night and partly as a problem is that the Oscars are so late in the season, it's the last one here we are in the middle of March. And you've had all these award shows running up to it. So it has been a good season. There are good movies. There were sort of like races that had some drama to them, but I just didn't feel it going in 'cause I felt like we'd talked this thing to death. - Would you have any strong predictions? - Well, I thought sinners would have a big night. I thought the momentum behind sinners was sort of undeniable. And I guess I was partly right. Like they didn't win, sinners didn't win best picture, but Michael B. Jordan winning best actor. I thought was one of the biggest moments. - He's so handsome, he's so lovely. - It was a great moment. It was like, someone who has real star power and that everybody loves, but also up against like two legitimately incredible performances. Or three, I would say, in Lear of Caprio in One Battle After Another, which I think that kind of shaggy humor that he perfected through that movie is really hard to pull off. Timothy in Marty's Prime, that was like an incredible performance. I thought carried that entire movie. I would shout out Ethan Hawke in Blue Moon, which I thought was like a wonderful movie and that performance was really incredible. - Link later for life. - Link later for life, truly that means. Keep making movies, two movies this year. - Anyway, so that was a big moment and I think it was a surprise, a little bit of a surprise that Michael B. Jordan won, but not one that anyone was mad about. You know what I mean? But otherwise, the other one was probably best supporting actress like Amy Madigan. - Yeah, that was a surprise. - Rich, you've been a real pro-boy. - I've been a real fan since this time. I just feel like women in horror never get their flowers. - Totally. - They give some great performances and Amy Madigan. - You're gonna hear first. - Women in horror never get their flowers. - It's real. - That movie was good too. - So I'm surprised I didn't get best picture. I'm gonna say a nomination, not win, but like a nomination. - And the little clip of her performance that I was like, I'm gonna see that movie again. - Yeah, she was fabulous. - Like there's only really been like Natalie Portman-Black Swan or um, Misery, Kathy Bates and Misery. Like they're really happy. - I got a shout out. - Yeah, there hasn't been many women who've won for a horror performance. - So I'm very happy. - What did you make of the Billy Crystal moment? - Oh. (laughing) - I called Candice immediately. I was like, make sure you're watching. Anyway, I was like, thirded on it was so moving. And to see everyone come out from Carrie Owens. - I thought that was great. - Yeah, that was really great. - I of course started crying. - Oh. - It felt like more people in memoriam this year than it felt like a critical mass of in memoriam. Anyway, Billy Crystal came out and did a beautiful tribute to Rob Reiner and Michelle Reiner and talked about the beginning of their friendship and how they became best friends with the rest of their lives. And it was so touching. And then when they put up stills from some of his most beloved films, about 15 stars from those films, from Demi Moore to John Qsack. - John Qsack. To Meg Ryan. Obviously Kathy Bates, Jury O'Connell. And then, oh, Billy Crystal said, "What fun we had, I'm gonna start crying again." But he didn't need notes. It seemed like he was just speaking off the cuff. And he was dry eyed, which I thought was a remarkable thing, but also welcome. It was lovely just to hear him. It felt like he was just talking to you about a relationship that he had. And I too was sort of staggered by that array of incredible stars, none of whom spoke, but were all just on stage. And I thought that was like a show of force for the Oscars. And then there was Barbara Streisitz. - Very emotional now. - Oh my God. Babs, babs on Robert Redford. Barbara Streisitz and very emotional, Robert Redford tribute. - Also totally authentic feeling. - Yes. - Both of those sort of in memorium segments were really something to watch. You know what else it was a big night for? Husbands. - Totally. - Amy Madigan shouting out at Harris. - Wow. - I thought that was lovely. Jesse Buckley, cold launching. What's the same Freddie? That's not a word. It's hard launching. - Oh okay. - Jesse Buckley, cold launching. I'm gonna stick with it. - Cold launching. - Jesse Buckley, hard launching Freddie from the stage. I was like, did he really come? It's amazing. - I know it was very exciting. And she said I wanna have a million more babies with you. - I thought that was a lot to do. (laughing) - Yeah, it was every year someone talks about having more children with their partner. - Oh yeah. - Karen Colchett and Jesse Buckley. - I'm like, wait till you have your second. And you'll be done. (laughing) (laughing) - Another really wonderful feel good moment at the night was Autumn D'Arald Acapal. It was the first woman to win best cinematography for her- - That is so crazy. - She looked great. She was in a suit, right? - Yeah, fun fact. I had coffee with Tom Brown last week. And he was saying that she was almost one of the few people that he was dressing. And he was like, I just hope she wins. And love the hope. - She did. - She did. - She did. - She had to test it. - Yeah. - So happy for Tom. - Yeah. (laughing) - And then Ryan Cooler like, run and get her kid and run it down the aisle or something? - What? - Yeah, there was a moment where Ryan Cooler, Ryan Cooler was great last week. He was so charming. - He was busy. - He was busy. - In his wife, I just, they make me cry every time because they just have such adorable relationship. And he's so sweet. - Zinsey? - Tender to her. Yeah, I mean, I also love that so many people brought their mothers to the show. - Here it was. - It was Sweden Goldie. - It was, yeah. - It was Mother's Day here yesterday. So it was quite nice. And Mike will be Jordan has brought his mom throughout, which I thought was very sweet. - And then his dad was like up in the wrap and stuff. - And then some women don't have a flea. - He was so confused. His poor guy came from Ghana and they couldn't sit him in the orchestra. - Are you kidding me? - I guess the question's too. Jesse Buckley said that Ireland flew her entire family. So is that the country of Ireland? - I was confused by that. - I was confused by the money in Ireland. - I feel like it must be like Ryanair. - That was the leap you made. - Yeah, we have some follow ups. - There's some like Republic of Ireland royal funds that went to Jesse Buckley's family. I loved Kiran Culkin being like, Sean Penn chose not to be here. Yeah, exactly. You know, takes the award from Stalin's Garzgard, who looked great. And then was the butt of like some very amusing jokes from the Bridesmaid's girls who were like, what did they say? I missed it. There's like these favorite notes from Stalin's Garzgard critiquing their like, you know, flasksurgery. It's a, you look great for your age. And he had like, you have like a real laughter going on. It was not any of the kind of timid day. Like the most fun delightful man. Like all of a sudden, I was listening to a long interview with him on MPR. Just his whole nepotatty thing is so charming. Sent a moral value for the record, my favorite movie of the year. And I didn't have any illusions that it was going to get best picture wonderful that it was nominated, but did get best international feature. And, uh, Lockheed Treer, I thought had a really charming speech from the stage. And I was really happy to see that whole cast because I think it's a wonderful cast, you know, on the topic of Bridesmaid's though, like, can they please make a sequel? They got them all together for the Oscars. I'm like, what is whole? What is the whole thing for the sequel? Oh my God. I'd watch that. I'd watch that. Need it. I know it's surprising. We haven't tried to make that happen. Soon, maybe any thoughts on the vanity fair after party? Best looks. Yeah. I have a hot take. I think people should wear short to the after party. That's a good shout. Like I just think that when people show up to the VF after party in a whole new ball gown, it just, it doesn't make sense to me. Like Olivia Rodrigo looks so adorable. She's in this like feathered mini dress with her hair casual, but she looks great. Like that's sort of what it should be. Alyssa Liu went to the vanity fair after party and Sam Sassman gave us a report that she, it was like her first major red carpet and she just seemed totally shell shocked. Hudson and Connor story showed up in matching nipple revealing sheer shirts. Love dead. I'm too old. Ready enough. No, never at us. Never at us. Two takes two men. Keep a Calvin. Oh, big deal Sarah pigeon. Yeah. In Calvin, which I live or Calvin. I thought that was beautiful. Very beautiful. Emma Morrison, former Vogue. Get is a styling Sarah and I think doing such a good job. Yeah. Just just talking about Sarah, I almost feel like I wonder if got Emma got intel about the backdrop because I love tell very much minimalist. It was it was literally matched the step and repeat. Oh my God. Good. Cool. She was beautiful. That's a good stylist. Yeah. Carpet calling. I think it's important to know because then I mean, I doubt she did, but it does make a difference to the picture. And I thought actually came and speaking of her hair, I love that must hair. I do think it it really brought the look to life. I thought that Gucci that sparkling skin tight dress was excellent. Actually on her. She was one of my favorites. I love the hair too. People were not loving it on mine. But I think it was something new for her. Yeah. I thought it was great. I just think not too perfect is the way to go. I totally support your note about the short dressing. I think that's really important. And Olivia Rodrigo now has Mel Ongberg styling her. So you can tell that she's in, she's really stepping into a new fashion era. Mel Ongberg, the stylist who famously started with Rihanna many years ago and editor of interview magazine. I loved Coleman Domingo and Jack Mous and I was sad he wasn't not the main Oscars because he's always one of my favorites on the red carpet. I think it's sort of cool. If you don't have a reason to be at the Oscars to knock out. I agree. That's a point. A great. And I also thought Paul Musco and Gracie Abrams just looked so with such a chic couple. And it looks so in love. So such a cutly couples moments. I agree. Rose and Bobby Connevallee, my personal heroes and their bearded dragon, which they've been talking about in interviews, which I love. They were so cute. I mean, I also felt that as far as indie designers or design, you know, the huge houses, there were a couple of shout outs at the Vanity Fair party. We talked about Odessa in Harris Reed. But then I like the Emily Ruddjowski war Connerives. And then we had Chloe Feynman, who looked really beautiful in this satin, colmeyer dress, which barely see on the red carpet. So that was nice to see some, some indie designers there too. Sarah Paulson wore Matsjard fake out. I know. I saw that. I know. I love that. That's a talk about an indie. Yeah. Mick Jagger showing up on the Vanity Fair right car. It was a little surprised to me. Oh my God. He was there. Wait, I miss that. I didn't see it totally. Totally looks like he's fresh off the country club too. I want to see no tie, open collar shirt. My God. My God. The O.G. I think those are sneakers. Yeah, those are black sneakers. Wow. Truly off the back nine to Vanity Fair. Now that we are finally closing out what has felt like a marathon of an awards. And actually it was the half marathon in New York yesterday. What were the biggest takeaways? Christian biggest fashion takeaways, Taylor biggest film takeaways. I was happy to see some color. Like I said before, I think this award season finally saw some fresh new colors. But as far as trends go, this award season, it was just traditional glamour. I wish I could say something more exciting, but a lot of feathers, a lot of sequins, a lot of slits, a lot of trains. It's just what we see. It's what works in Hollywood. But I loved it. I think it was fab. I think people looked really great this year as traditional as it was. It felt very modern and very current as opposed to feeling dated most of the time. So loved seeing that. And I would add to that just to say it felt like the sort of big designers who we've seen at these houses that change, that shift, they hit their stride in red carpet dressing. Because I think it was a little bit of a rocky star when I think back to Venice. And we had those first looks appear from Dior and Chanel. But now I think designers like Mathieu, Blasey at Chanel and Jonathan Anderson at Dior have really figured out how they show up in those spaces. That to me was a big, a big takeaway as well. Totally. For me, for movies, I think it's like this sort of ironic moment where the movies seem really healthy. Right? Like, you know, you have these big studio movies that sort of thread the needle between being commercially successful centers and one battle after another and being critically successful. When the big awards, which is sort of what the industry wants, the sign of the industry being healthy. But the guy's industry is not healthy. I mean, why are brothers the studio behind those two movies? Just sold to, you know, David Ellison in Paramount and everyone is fretting. Not that you could tell inside the Oscars last night, but everyone is fretting about the future of movies. I mean, I was a little sad for indie movies. I felt like some of the cool indie movies from the year maybe didn't really get much. Like, you know, if you're like a train dreams fan, you've left empty handed. But I think people may look back on Oscars 2026 as kind of like a moment where, you know, the call before the storm. Like a moment where the Hollywood seemed to be quite healthy when it was actually teetering on a different kind of, you know, business model or way forward or something. So it seemed like, you know, in the past, the Oscars have either given the best picture award to like a very commercially successful slightly kind of middling movie. Like maybe a green book is a classic example of that or a like rapturously received indie that 14 people saw, you know, I mean, no madland, no shots on no madland, which I think is a beautiful movie could be the example of that. This year seemed like the perfect middle ground. Everyone saw one ball after another. Everyone saw centers and those were the two movies at the top of the heap. So a good night for movies in probably a perilous moment for movies. So did we do it? Yay. Can you watch weapons? Nope. No, I had the poster alone. The poster alone is not doing it for me. It's too scary. It's so good. No, no horror. No horror for me. No, life is horrifying enough. No, no. Who would get further me and wicked too? Are you weapons? We just like set the stopwatch.
