Victor Davis Hanson: Why Is Trump Being Blamed for This Cornell Scandal?
77m 16s
Victor Davis Hansen analyzes a series of complex cultural, political, and legal issues, centering on the "Cornell 7" case, where multiple men were accused of exploiting a drunk, intoxicated college woman during a party. While legally challenging due to ambiguities in consent and jury dynamics, Hansen firmly condemns the ethical failure of all seven individuals, emphasizing that "technically" said consent does not equate to moral legitimacy. He critiques broader cultural trends, including the glorification of thuggish masculinity in rap and social media, and the growing influence of "woke" ideologies, which he sees as more dangerous than past movements due to systemic bias and suppression of free speech. He also highlights political failures in Europe, particularly the British Green Party’s anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist stances, and the erosion of trust in NATO allies due to poor intelligence, immigration policies, and social instability. Additionally, Hansen warns against socialist candidates with ties to extremist groups or conflicts of interest, arguing that such individuals threaten free markets and democratic values. Ultimately, he urges a return to traditional values, self-discipline, and accountability, asserting that true morality requires recognizing the vulnerability of the weak and respecting boundaries—even in the face of cultural pressures to normalize inappropriate behavior.
The guy who text on Snapchat that everybody gets free blank and should come over here, they were unethical. They're me two people now gone wild, and they're saying it was rape, but it's going to be very hard to prove to a jury. Legally, I don't know if they'll be able to get any of them, and I don't know if they should get any of them. But I do know that morally and ethically, they're all bankrupt, all seven of them. They said technically she said yes, technically she went up to my room, technically she said I could have a threesome. Technically, technically, technically, technically, technically, technically is not morally. And you're supposedly the best and the brightest at Cornell University. You should have had a little bit of self-discipline. Hello, and welcome. This is Victor Davis Hansen in his own words. We are on our Friday news roundup, and we've got lots of news this week. There was a plague that escaped or didn't escape. It escaped from a test tube in a Russian lab and killed one of the lab attendance. Europe is showing its failures in parts, so we're going to be looking at some of those things. And then the green party in Britain has an unusual anti-Semitic moment at Brighton. So stay with us for those stories and we'll be right back after these messages. We should all be concerned by the rise in Marxist thought in our country. This ideology attacks the Berry Foundation on which our freedoms are built. And it's already having dangerous effects. Alliance defending freedom is pushing back protecting your God-given rights in courtrooms across America. Victor is the Martin and Nile Anderson Senior Fellow in Military History and Classics at the Hoover Institution and the Wayne in Marciabusky Distinguished Fellow in History at Hillsdale College. You can find him at his website, VictorHansen.com. And the name of that website is the blade of Perseus, and it's got all things Victor there. So his podcast, the ones that are legitimately his, and his articles and books, links to his book, and even his new book, The Counter Revolution, which is doing very good on the chart. Well, it's doing very well, and it's still on the New York Times bestseller list. I don't know exactly why, because they're not fond of me, and they have a formula that's not based entirely on book sale, which I wouldn't qualify. I would assume. Maybe I'm an affirmative action candidate. A diversity author. Yeah, exactly. Donald Trump is diverse. Okay, Victor. So let's go ahead and turn to the Russian lab in Siberia. Ironically had the name has the name the anti-plague research institute, but apparently one of the workers there broke a vile, and she died from plague. She's on 28 years old, very sad in that, but that's kind of scary for the rest of us here in the world. We're having flashbacks to China's COVID Wuhan lab. What do you think? Well, it's really kind of a funny description scary. It said, "Nomonic plague that gets into the lungs, if you have an antibiotic within the next first 48 hours you can survive, unless you've had lung surgery or lung problems." So I thought, "Oh, Victor, you missed that one." The problem with it is that the more Putin gets frustrated, and the more the West publicizes, all the things are going to do to help Ukraine, and the more Ukraine legitimately wants to hit targets deep within Russia. The more Russia's losses, economic and human mount up, and they've lost a million and a half dead wounded and missing, probably four or five hundred thousand dead, and they are doing things they have. They're starting to do things that are very risky, because they don't want to be humiliated and pull back. If Putin was smart, he would say, "I will make a deal. I've taken 20% of the Donbass on a Crimea." Like it or not, that's the line, but I will have a non-aggression pact, and not that you can trust him, but we will have a ceasefire. Then he can go back and tell the Russians I got some land from Ukraine, and the Ukrainian said he didn't get Ukraine, and that's what you have the basis of. But that doesn't seem to be what he thinks he can take back to the oligarchs and the military. They're getting desperate, so they hit a factory that makes robotics. It was at Lithuania, or it was in one of the Baltic states. They hit a bridge when they heard that the German Chancellor was going to be in Kiev, they hit a bridge in Kiev. They have intruded into Polish airspace. When you see this, and you get Wuhan lab in your mind, and you know that they had a large biological weapons program in the Cold War. They said, "We did, we dismantled it, but you can never trust them." So if this got out, maybe it's in the cold climate of Siberia, it wouldn't spread as readily, but it could, if it was engineered. I think people forget about the COVID virus, as we had Stephen Quay come on on one of our podcasts, the imminent biologist and former Stanford professor of medicine, geneticist, biologist, everything, he knows. It was deliberately out of a million choices. There only had to be seven or eight could make that SARS virus very infectious, at least the first iteration of it. And they picked every one of them on the cleavage side. So they can make it very, very infectious and kill a lot of people if it gets out. And you don't know whether they were experimenting with a strain of it to be unleashed, as if they could make a vaccine, we don't know. Let's hope that it was just part of normal research to prevent plague, but Russia doesn't have a high incidence of plague. So it's very scary, very scary. People can call Trump all they want, Putin's puppet, he's not, he's been just for everybody remember, he killed more Russians than the entire Cold War on the ground when he destroyed the three to four hundred man Wagner group that attacked us in Syria. He got out of an asymmetrical and medium range missile, non-proliferation treaty with Russia, because he felt that they were cheating. He taxed the oligarchs, he, not Obama, okay offensive weapons to Russia. He was the one that warned them if they, he warned the Europeans not to make the Nordstrom pipeline deal with Russia, and they laughed at him at that famous NATO mean. What do you mean a lot of the deal and we're gonna go make a big fight another pipeline and buy gas from Russia, haha, what a fool, what a fool, and he was absolutely right. So he's not pro Putin, but he does have ordered the dual relationships with Putin, as he does with Qi, as he has with everybody. And that means that if we get into a really existential frame of mind with them, he's that no European can call Putin out. He doesn't, he hates them all. He sees them as weak and conniving, but he is afraid of the United States, because we have such a great for ponderance of economic and military power. So he would listen to Trump, and I think Trump is already called him up and said Vladimir, tell me in one sentence what the blank is going on. The Russia doesn't exactly have a good record with the international community and informing us, and I know it was the USSR at the time, but when that Chernobyl energy, nuclear energy, but melted down, nobody knew how bad it was. The extent of it because they hit it. So we're all a little worried about it. In retrospect, yeah. They really, after the initial blast, they really haven't found the types of radiation cancer related deaths that they fought in that area, and there's people coming back into that area. And we never really gave, there were very heroic questions when they heard about that. They had to seal the dome with cement, and they airlifted people.
down on ropes and then they guided cement to make a dome with rebar and every one of them died. So it rushes the paradox and I nigg my inside of paradox. Since you brought up Trump just really quickly, I don't know if there was anything to make of this, but the Trump G summit, there doesn't seem to be much to have been made of it. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on what Trump accomplished by bringing cheat here. I mean, the whole China's ascended. They're going to take over our economy. We have $10,000,000 more. They are in a holding pattern with internal recessionary factors. They lost their client in Panama, gone, no more controlling the Panama Canal. They lost their client in Venezuela, gone. They lost their client in Syria, gone. They've lost Iran, gone, did all Russia for all of those as well. The tariffs, they greed with tariffs, but they are paying more because of that. And militarily, they look at what the United States military did in destroying the air defenses of Iran and what the Israelis did and how Western weapons have kept Ukraine fighting this Russian juggernaut. And they think, you know what? I don't think it's a good idea in the ages of drone warfare to go 90 miles across the sea when Taiwan's going to be bristling with Western arms and missiles and drones. And so I think Trump's attitude was, let's be the first president to meet him on the tarmac. Let's go all out. He's very ill. He's had cancer and heart problems. And let's just be friendly with him and let our tech, our new war production board in digital media, software, AI, space launches. I mean, Elon Musk launched more satellites than the whole world combined. He did, I mean, China might have launched what 300 or something. He did 3,700. And our space program is sore to head of them. And the top 10 international AI companies China's only got one. And the same thing is true of digital media and the same thing is true of software companies. I think they have two companies in the top 10. So we are racing ahead and people were in the, as I said, we're in the eye of the here, hurricane. We don't appreciate it. But the United States is starting to really take advantage of our natural talent, our natural system. And we're unleashing the animal furies of people who want to create things and make money. And it's booming, except for the oil price. And that will pass. And when the oil price gets down to $60, this economy is going to zoom. It's going to be kind of tragic if it happens. And it will happen after the election because they will, if they take the house, they'll take credit for it. Oh, we got down oil prices. Even though under Obama, remember, they got their promise. Right now, the price of gas is 650 in California. And if you go to the coast, it's probably eight, seven. That's exactly what Obama's energy secretary said he wanted. Steven Chu, we have to get oil prices and gasoline prices where they were in Europe so that Americans don't drive and heat up the planet and suffocate us. That's what he wanted to do. And now they got their wish. And now you think they're fossil fuel fanatics now. We want gas prices down. We want to pay people to drive more. We got to do. You can't, they're like chickens with their proverbial heads cut off. You don't know what they're going to say at any given. Hey, I, remember that? That was two weeks ago, wasn't it? Hey, I was going to destroy us all. This little techie comes out and said it's into the world. And then, and where did he, where would that come from? It came from the DNC. They're sitting down with their little pencils and they're saying, we got some problems right before the midterm. Atlantic feds has 5% growth. Highest per capita income and family income in history, lowest poverty rate on employment 40, only 4.2, 140,000 new jobs. Inflation hasn't gone up, like where's it supposed to? What are we going to do? I know AI is powering and zooming out economy. And he's, he's, he's utilizing it. So we have to say that AI is satanic and stop it so that his economy will slow down and we can win the midterms. And we can go winning and then as soon as they become president, if they should win the 28th, there's a AI is going to save us all. We it's going to help. So I think also as far as G summit is concerned, at least it wasn't like the Biden Alaska beatdown of his administration or like Obamai, I was, yeah, or or the just quickly the Obama when he met with GG brought a bunch of CEOs of companies in China with them. But this time none at all. So yeah, there shows some strength of Donald China has this. I think Carney is learning that China has a particular attitude that is very common and symbolic or representative of all tyrants. When they see an opponent, the leadership, they size them up and they say to themselves, does this person project strength? Is this person unpredictable? Does this person have wherewithal economic or military? If they do, we're going to treat him with caution and as an equal. If he is obsequious to us and praises us, but he's weak, we're going to treat him with contempt. So when Carney thinks he's going to Canada, Canada is going to go over there and say, hey, Chi, we know you hate Trump, we hate Trump, just dump all of your aluminum and your metals and your steel into the end of Canada. Cheap, we'll assemble it and we'll undercut American products, appliances and vehicles. You win, we win. And then she says, well, but we'll Trump get mad at you that we're evading the tarot. Ah, we don't care. I'm the leader of the world now. I'm the leader of the middle nations. I'm Carney. And they think, yeah, we'll just manipulate this guy. He's weak and he's stupid. So we'll dump the stuff, but we're not going to play along with his game. And the EU says the same thing. Yes, we have 5% trade with you and you want to expand that? Yes. But you have certain requirements that you want to be untrumped on American. So we can't tell you not to trade with chat, but I'm sorry to tell you that we in our charter, we can tell you anything we want. We don't want you to obey EU tariffs on China by dumping your product inside EU. And by the way, if you think you're going to send a bunch of tar oil, thick sulfurous oil over here, we're not going to take it. And by the way, and by the way, and by the way, and that's what they're going to tell them. Did you see in the news this morning? I think I was a stupider leader. I mean, it's like Gavin Newsom runs Canada, right? It's almost like he's, I'm going to, it's like he has a gun and he's blowing off one arm. Take that, Trump. And then he shoots his leg. Take that. And shoots his, puts a bullet in his brain. I see what I can do to you. It's a silly. And he's whipped up all these normal, normal, rational Canadians. And he's not going to even, I don't even think he's going to win the election that he wants the result in Alberta and Quebec. Yeah, that's what I saw this morning. Yes. He's not going to, and maybe he'll win the midterms. He can take credit as I'm the leader of the middle nations. What are the middle nations? Do you have 70, what, 78, 80 jets that are 45 years old? And then you say, then North West passage is ours. And, and the Arctic is ours. Yeah. And who do you call? It's like Ghostbester. Who are you going to call? Are you going to call the United States? Yeah. Hi, Mr. Trump. There are 17 Soviet, Russian and Chinese icebreakers. And for some reason, they put a little flag that says China right in our Arctic zone. Could you take care of it? He's going to tell them, see, I wouldn't want to be. Yeah. And they've got little, what they do to the Philippines and such. And they've got ships and they're firing, they're firing on our own ships. Could you please help us? Victor, let's go ahead and welcome back our sponsor, My Patriot Supply. Winter storms have a way of exposing how quickly normal life can stop. The power goes out. We'd like to thank my Patriot supplied for their continued support of the Victor Davis Hansen show. So Victor, lots going on in Europe but I wanted to look at the continuation of the Fairford Royal Air Force Base where the terrorists were stopped in their efforts to ambush it. And then last week we heard that the terrorists were then let out on bail by the British judicial system. The United States this week removed two bombers from the Fairford Air Force Base. I guess they relocated them to other places. I don't understand their logic of this Burnham guy, Andy. So he has two antithetical press releases. We think the Iranians are involved, therefore we're going to let them all out. I guess they're because they're a British subject so if a terrorist is an Iranian Brit and he actually has citizenship, he's not as dangerous as one sent from Iran. But it's also when you saw the Tucker Jacob Reeze Mog interview, he emphasized that the NYPD was twice as big as combat ready, deplorable forces from Britain and he said he's afraid of Russia. So you would think, you would think that when terrorists tried to go in there and scout it out, it was a dry run, scout it out, they would lock them up and interrogate them, find out what it was up, but not let them out. Because a lot of people suggest, well, they were probably trying to emulate the Ukrainian attack on Russian airfields where they destroyed a billion dollars of airplanes with drones. So maybe they were going to find a place near the base, take a panel truck, take out ten drones and those things cost a billion plus each and take out ten of them, the ten there or eleven of them. And yet we can't and this comes on top of the British saying, well, you can use the base for defensive air only what you're in a war. What is defensive only and they're not attacking the US homeland. So any plane that takes off from there so he's and then this comes on top of they wouldn't let us use Diego Garcia. So what's the purpose of having an ally? We are the closest ally of the United States. We've been together into yes and when the Faulklanders you were a very important help, yes. And what have you done for us lately? And so then you add another almost simultaneously we learn that the director of German intelligence for seven or eight years was a spy and he he sent over two thousand documents to quote unquote unnamed foreign powers. We know who unnamed foreign powers are, they're Russia and China. And so when you look at the Europeans and you add in Spain that crazy Pedro Sanchez who won't let us use this billion dollar base that we built on his and then you look at even our friend Maloney wouldn't let us land in Sicily and then you add Macron who will be out in a year but he's been saying you can't go into our airspace. What good are they? So he access said why would we put our you know ten billion dollars of our bomb or be one fleet in that base when they're going to let the terrorist out and if they in the terrorist probably we're writing reports on their phones about how close you can get in what's next. So they're an unreliable ally and they're an unreliable ally because they have large populations of unassimilated Muslim immigrants number one who don't like the host and hate us and they pander to and number two they're failing their green initiatives have destroyed the economy three their social welfare system like in France is 40% of the budget. And now you what's the we're going to spend 40% of all of our budget to welcome in illegal immigrants and give them cradle to grave social welfare. So why are they burning our schools why are they attacking us why are they waving well we'll just send about every week a couple thousand to the UK our partner and that's what they're doing. So the whole continent is suffering from insecurity inferiority complex and it's all self induced. You go over to Europe and you talk to Europeans and you look at their past and present they are brilliant people I know a lot of them they're brilliant. They could be every bit as preeminent as we are but when you combined green madness with Palestinian Middle East madness with socialist madness with infertility madness 1.3 children in Europe as a whole with disarmament pacifist madness you get a cesspool and that's what's happening on the streets of France that's why you have German people the German intelligence selling out his own country and that's why you had shroiter the former president chancellor of Germany that was working for gas problem for the enemy and that's why you have politicians in Britain that will let out terrorists. And Trump just said to hexethi gas he just said they're not worth it because even if we're there and even if we don't get attacked and we saw what happened the Middle East with what Iran did to some of our planes and bases what would be the point of it they don't like us anymore and they won't have no help there and all we ask is security around our planes they can't even at their own base provide that. So there have no value to us anymore that's I think I hate to say that but can somebody correct me and say you get invaluable support with logistics and intelligence from the Europeans and the bases and NATO are critical to your forward posture in the world. Maybe they are in peacetime. Yeah. The one that Weber hits the road they're not there unless they call you up and say Milosov X is on the doorstep of Europe and he's got a genocide and can you fly 80% of the missions against him in Yugoslavia or Libya. There's an Arab Spring, Qaddafi's evil we got to get rid of him and French and British planes are flying as I speak but you know we need some a wax we need some F-35 can you come over and handle it and finish it nine months we bomb or we're we're going to shod the French and get Islamism out of Chad what's your colony what can you please supply the logistics and some of the weaponry for us or Millie is talking about taking back them the Mlvina's the Falklands remember last time how you helped us what we can count on you again can't we know we can't. You know and as you and Jack I think talked about on one of your podcasts that the European elections all of them are that are coming up are looking like they they might go conservative and it might be maybe a little bit like we see in Latin America with so many governments they say even now Brazil the conservative candidate for election has a fairly good chance in the next election. Yeah hopefully yeah hopefully that's his son and he's got three sons and politics yeah Flavio is the person that he won the primary they'll try to cheat Lula is a cheater who's corrupt yeah but I think the next four vote getters were conservatives and minor parties that would be the biggest guts the biggest country in Latin America but it's all flipped anyway it's all going that way the only will socialist upsurge is in the United States and who did that got to give credit to Elon Musk he said when he started doge the first thing he said was the biggest boondoggle and the most pernicious foreign our domestic program we have is us a ID because it's very hard to criticize because it's aid and we're non we're non partisan and we give money for a vaccine and then he said you know what most of its propaganda and it's all these left wing socialists in America prop up these socialist parties and they win And then they trash us when they got out with about multi building.
dollar program. All of a sudden, all these elections started to go pro-american. That was Elon's idea and Rubios. Yeah. And it shows you how much USAID was being used for political rights. Rubios relates. Commendo is on. I mean, he's right about so many things. Yeah. All right, Victor, so let's look now at the Green Party in Britain. Very strange. They had a conference at Brighton and so they voted things that the party agreed with together. And here are some of their votes. They voted that Zionism, which is a Jewish homeland, is racism. They voted for a Palestinian state, which means the end of a Jewish state. Yes, the Jewish people can live with all of the Arabs in one state under a democracy, even though there's not one democracy in the entire Middle East. And Islam has no record of tolerance. But people who are not Muslims in Egypt, in the UAE in Saudi, they have their place in the Sun in special enclaves with taxes and monitoring. As long as they don't marry Muslims and as long as they don't try to convert anybody and as long as we don't see it cross anywhere on the horizon, that's what these crazy people. And they're losing their support too. They're not doing well in election. The third thing that they voted down among their party was to the protection of Jewish Green Party members, even so they were suggesting there was two to one. Yeah, it was. It was that anti-Semitic is there was a great article I like to tell any particular group. But I would say to Jewish citizens of the EU because we just had a case where as I said, a survivor of October 7th who saw her family butchered and tortured and mutilated, tried to explain to a Dutch audience and they said, Hitler should have finished the job with you people. So I would get out of Europe, if you couldn't get out of Europe, I would disconnect with all the liberal causes and keep your head down and try to promote conservative groups and the same thing in the United States. If you're Jewish in the United States, a new vote for El Said with his Muslim brother contacts with his mother's relief efforts, quote unquote for radical Islamists with his close relationship with Talib, with Ilian Omar, Hassan Piker, Mandami. If you vote for that, thinking that they're really got a bad rap from the horrible Trump mega people, you're very delusional. You're almost suicidal. They hate Jews. They hate Israel. And they're like the French. If you look at the streets right now at France, you see all these young kids with socialist regalia and then combined with Islamists with Palestinian flags. It's so much like the Iranian Revolution of 1979-80 where all the Iranian socialists and communists that were agnostics and atheist combined with a Khomeiniite fanatics to get rid of the Shah because of his modernization. And as soon as he was gone, the socialist said, "Well, we'll step up and run the country because we are westernized and we know how to run a country," and the Khomeini said, that killed that guy, killed that guy, killed that guy, killed that guy, killed just they killed 20,000 of them. And then where did they come? Here at the United States and to Europe. And then when they got to the United States, what did they say? Because I've met a lot of them in academia. They said, "Your country did this to us." No, no, no. France put Khomeini in a sanctuary and allowed his cassettes to be sent back every day. And the Europeans and Fukodian ideas did that, not us. But they, I never understood that. I would meet an Iranian as I said to Jack the other day for the last 50 years. And some of them were the most pro-Americans I've ever seen. And they had where they were most successful. And then I would be in the meeting, getting interviewed in the media or rub shoulders with them in academia or in politics. And as soon as they started telling me, it's you hijacked our revolution, you gave, we got rid of the Shah and you got angry. So you turned Khomeini on us and you'd sure fall. Why don't you come here then? You know what I mean? It's very frustrating. That sure is. Well, Victor, we're going to turn to the Cornell 7 again. And then also the hands off our vote rally that the Democrats had recently. I believe it was in New York. But first, I'd like to welcome back our usual Saturday sponsor, but it now they're on Friday. So let's look at the Cornell 7 first. I know that this is a continuing saga, but recently we had a journalist claim basically that it was Trump that had causing. I want to just read her. Yeah, it was Michelle Cottle. Yeah. And here's what she says quote, we can go to the president for this one, meaning the Cornell 7 rate case. I mean, we are in a moment in this culture where the glorification of being thuggish and swaggering and mistreating women is kind of making you a cool kid. Yes. Well, Michelle, I guess you suffer from amnesia. Do I need to go back to FDRs, Laisons in the White House? How about JFK, D flowering a virgin in the presidential bed, or we can go to Bill Clinton, who had every imaginable type of sex act. And I didn't have sex with that woman, Mr. Winsky, and then lied about it under oath and then had his whole administration plagued with Jennifer Flowers or Paula Jones or Monica Lewinsky. And they all had one thing in common, Michelle. They were all typical examples of a apex man using his power and his constructed privilege to take advantage sexually of someone who was subordinate to him. And I don't remember you ever said anything if you ever run around in. And then we had Joe Biden. And Joe was going to run for president in 2020. And they had a problem because they said, well, we got a problem. He's handsy. He tries to kiss women too long. And some of them are that famous picture of the judge's daughter where he kind of grabbed her and and remember in the tarmac and Finland, he tried to kiss that little girl. And then there was Tara Reid. She was much more convincing than Stormy Daniels even. I mean, her mother called up Larry King and outlined it when it happened. What happened to her daughter? It was pretty clear, Joe Biden did it. So then they just had all these women come forward and say, they rounded them all up. Can you go and give a little water down thing? Well, Senator Biden, Vice President Biden was a little bit forward with me. And then he came and said, I guess I'm from an old generation where this was accepted. And it's wrong. And I won't do it again. But of course, this whole administration, they had to keep them away from women. Whatever you say about Donald Trump's past, past, there's no evidence that while he was on the White House over six-year period that he ever did anything like.
Bill Clinton or JFK or Joe Biden. So what she says is just partisan hackery typical of the New York Times. And as I said last time, everybody here is confused as I am because there's two different polls and they mingle. There's the unethical versus the illegal and they can be both or they can be separate. The first person who asked her to come to the party called her afterwards and taped it without her knowledge. And now he's releasing it to exonerate himself. But the question is condemnatory. He says things like, well remember when I asked you, are you drunk? And you said no. But the but she'd already said she'd had 10 drinks. So then he said, and then when I ask you, were you okay if I brought a friend in? So he's trying to suggest I'm a Cornell student and it's perfectly okay to have a drunk woman up there. But if she says I'm not drunk and she came up to my room, then she's fair game for a threesome. And maybe and then he says, and I felt that I was a little put upon that she made advances toward me. So without being too graphic for our audience, the male and female roles in sexual Congress are a little bit different. So if a male can perform the act, it's a little bit hard to say that he was forced into it. I don't think the drunk woman took a whip and said, would you please be ready for sexual intercourse and perform on me right now? I mean that's absurd. So what I'm getting at is the guy who text on Snapchat that everybody gets free blank and should come over here. And then the three people who had relations with her and the other people who were spoon feeding her in very grotesque and pre-civilizational manner, dangerous drugs. They were on ethical. I don't know the law, as I said earlier enough, that me two people now have gone wild. And they're saying it was rape, but it's going to be very hard to prove to a jury if she testified either in writing or to investigators or she wrote letters suggesting that she was not raped. But I would say that if you're a 20-year-old girl and this is a premier frat and you all want to go over there and be popular with the guys and you're drunk and all of this happens to you, you're not really going to accuse them of all this thing until you sink in and everybody starts saying you idiot, you blank blank as her peers did and then she's going to process it and things within two or three weeks. She was calling them and saying that you did this and this. So legally, I don't know if they'll be able to get any of them and I don't know if they should get any of them because but I do know that morally and ethically they're all bankrupt, all seven of them because they took advantage of a girl that was intoxicated that they said technically she said yes, technically she went up to my room, technically she said I could have a three. So technically, technically, technically, technically is not morally. You should have had a little bit of self-discipline not to even if you believe that she was flirtatious and aggressive, that doesn't mean you can't say no because you know what's going to happen. If you're you have an IQ of two, you know what's going to happen. She's going to wake up about six the next morning and she's going to first of all think to herself, have I been infected with multiple partners with unprotected sex? Was I attacked? What are these bruises? Oh my gosh, what did I do? I wouldn't have done that right now. So can they anticipate that and to that response? So and now you've got everybody in it and the whole case is being torn apart because they're going after Cornell because Cornell thought they could get washed their hands of it and they did and they said well let the grandeur in the DA. If it's a criminal matter, we'll follow it. And then on their own, they made some boys write some may a may a colpa and they expelled two and they did other things. And then the DA said I can't take this case before a jury because I'll find one person in the jury who will say well, you know, he'll think back and he'll say that he had an experience with some woman and she said yes and then he had relations and then the next day she thought better of it and he's not going to convict these kids. So I'm not going to do it. And then they blame the president and then the president writes one of those Mickey Mouse. It's just like a Hollywood script. Yeah. And now we've got Camille Appali is very sensible. She I like her a lot. She just said that women have to be careful. She wasn't ridiculing a young 20-year-old. She just basically said that you are a human animal first. All of us are. And we have rules of civilization to protect the weaker sex physically. And that men have a different idea and perception of sexual conquest than women do. So when you go into those hostile environments, you can't claim to be both a victim and naive because you should have known that. But I don't think she I don't think she was saying that what the men did was ethical. That was my point. I got a lot of some emails and said, Victor, of all people I thought you would condemn her for being a hypocrite. I didn't condemn her. I said that she was drunk and she made a lot of stupid decisions, but she didn't deserve to have that happen to her. And those boys should have been ashamed of themselves and they should be punished. I don't know if that means legally punished. Yeah. Legally punished. Yeah. We'll let the jury decide that. As a general will, any single woman should not go to a fraught party after 10 o'clock at the evening. Just that's what I would say. And then you say, well, why can't you? It's the same thing like I won't walk in downtown Fresno after 9 o'clock on the evening. I just wouldn't do it because I'm not dumb. Yeah. You know, when the New York Times columnist Kotl says this culture where the glorification of being thuggish and swaggering and mistreating women, and I thought, wow, is she talking about rap music culture or something? I mean, it seems to me that that element in our culture is there, but it's mostly there because of rap music. Well, she doesn't want to talk about it because who says who who developed the word or created HO and if you read, listen to it, every time I go to the gas station, it seems like somebody's blaring rap music and it's all the same. It's beat up the whole punch, punch the BITCH in the face. And then it's really sick graphic types of descriptions of rough sex. But the common theme is they hate women. And yet because that is a black, and this is a black culture that used to give us the four tops, the temptations. Chicago. Well, I mean, they gave us some of the best music, soul music. And so she's a person of a left. If she believes that, then she should criticize rap music. But there's an element there too. I don't know what they're going to do when it gets out that the two of the seven who did not have sex, but may have egged her on, were white. And three of the people who did were not white, whether Asian, Mexican, and black, and the person reportedly, and I can't confirm this. So somebody will say, well, you shouldn't say, I'm saying I can't confirm it, but there has been on social media. A lot of reports that the person who broadcasts that she was ready to have sex at a whim was black. And so that what is Latita James going to do who's a race hustler when she come, she's dispatched there to send them all to prison because that's what the popular feminist movement is. But when she finds out they're people of color, and once she finds out the victim is white, it's going to add a wrinkle to this whole thing. So my suggestion is that that she's going to go sunny Huston, the woman on the view, and everybody was shocked. And everybody said, look at Sony Huston. Why is she doing this? Well, she's doing this because the girl who has taken advantage of was white and the people who took advantage of her in some cases, not all, there were two white kids there, maybe three, or people of color, Latino, Asian, and black. And so being a racialist, she'll always side with the non-white. The whole thing is a mess. It really is. Yeah, sure.
The other thing about it when she says this culture of male thuggery, does she know anything called an internet influencer? Because you can't go on social or digital media without some little ad where somebody comes and she's a college girl or attractive girl, are you reading them paper, this social influencer died, you have no idea. But then you you read about her, you see her and they're in skimpy little things are half half naked. What did she think the whole card that dashing family made their their money on? What did she think that Madonna does? What did she think Miley Cyrus made her career on? It was graphic, disgusting, provocative sex acts to show the world that women could define their own sexuality without marriage, without children, without commitment, without fidelity and that we are going to be as promiscuous and as raunchy as men. And no man made them do that. That was part of that was a branch of the feminist movement. Oh, which reminds me, I just saw Beyonce at that hands off our vote rally. Oh my gosh, I've never seen her act before, it was pretty provocative. Provocative is a nice word for it though, it was disgustingly provocative. It's not, it's not operand, it's not, it's not ballet and it's not a symphony, I'll tell you that. Yeah, that's for sure. Well, let's talk about the hands off rally, hands off our vote rally after we go to these messages. Many Americans are going to have a big wake up call. We have never seen net migration as high as it has been in the last few years. This year, there have been more people coming to the UK in small votes than ever before. You did an extreme thing to the country. Britain is facing a migrant prime epidemic. We don't actually know where they're coming from, who they are, how old they are. Why would you let millions of people who are undead in, if not to change the country from within? There is no other word for it, demographic replacement. England's a blue thing for America, it's coming. It's just a blue thing. Thousands of daily migrant crossings. A political earthquake threatens to reshape America. We are showing there is a new path for politics in our country. Not all cultures are the same. You cannot bounce shitty out. America is a nation of immigrants. We are a nation of immigrants. We're a nation of immigrants. The immigration crisis. Watch now on the Heritage Foundation's YouTube channel. Welcome back. Victor Davis Hansen in his own words. So, Victor, I was wondering your thoughts. We had Bruce Springsteen there, Mark Raffalo, Robert De Niro, all saying the same thing. I'll quote De Niro for you. He said he informed us that Trump is a coward and he is a piece of blank. He didn't finish the sentence without an expletive, he couldn't. He's really destroyed his career and a retrospective. We start looking, I don't. I listen to music and watch actors I don't like if they're good. So, I think he had about four great roles, four, five. The two Godfather, the second Godfather, excuse me, right? When he played the younger Corlonian, Max Katie, where he paid that psychopath, that was a scary heat, where he was the organizer of that crime group, Taxi cab driver, and maybe Raging Bull. But they all have one thing in common. They all show a person who is kind of crazy, is kind of mean-spirited, maybe not Raging Bull, but as a psycho, and it's kind of evil. And what I'm getting at is he plays himself in those roles. When we try to be comic roles or nice, they doesn't work, because he's not a great actor. He's a great actor, only in the sense that if you give me a psycho role, or a mafia also, like the character in Untouchables, when he played Al Capone, that was the real Robert. That Al Capone scene where he's raving in the courtroom or he's got the bat, and he hits, that was the Robert De Niro you saw on the stage at this rally. I don't know much about Mark Rufoli, but Ruf Springsteen is kind of blown up because he made his fortune and his brand by wearing those blue work shirts, working out with weights, wearing tight jeans, and his thing is, I'm not going to be a skinny, scraggly, black Sabbath, arrowsmith type of guy. And I can show you, born in a USA, and I'm going to pose as a man of the people working class, and he's very talented. But when he associates himself with his fellow billionaires and the elite of the elite, and he's on these 30/70 issues, he's on the 30%. He's lost a lot of people that don't want, you know, I still listen to him on my phone, but he's lost a lot of people. And then you remember that who else showed up, the nonpartisan, who was absolutely apolitical, Jack Smith, he came there with a t-shirt on it that said, "No kings." And he had just testified before Congress how nonpartisan he was. And now we learn, Jack, that you tapped into the phone records of 44 senators and Congress people, and you were monitoring their locations, their locations, and you violated a number of statutes it looks like, and you were a hyperpartisan. And even though your case was in South Florida, which is a little bit more conservative, you were getting testimonies and places and investigations in New York, where they would give you these court orders that would allow you to do that, which they would not anywhere else. He was picked because he was a ranked partisan. They said, "Who is a bulldog that, even though he's not that bright, and he loses cases like the MacDonald case when he went, he said the governor of Virginia had taken illegal gifts, and he went after him and destroyed that guy's career. He was an uppercumming, he was like a Glenn Youngkin." And then the Supreme Court left Wing Judges included, reversed him nine to zero. You can just imagine the Congress, "Well, who do we get to be the special counsel?" "Oh, remember that Jack Smith?" He trumped up all those charges, and of course they got reversed, but he ruined him. He destroyed his career. That's what he does. So if we stick him after Trump, he will find every little loophole and every unethical thing he will do everything. Of course, he'll be overturned, he'll never get a conviction, but who cares, he'll willing to own Trump, or at least bankrupt him, hire him. And that's what they did. I was just looking for something because I think it's the Merrick Garland case, or maybe it's the Jack Smith case. They can't find judges to indict and see the case. I think it's the Jack Smith because he knows, yeah, District Judge. South Florida where they, he filed the original charges. No, wait, I mean, if they want to investigate Jack Smith, they can't find a judge because he knows all the judges apparently, District Judges in Tennessee, they've already accused them for this. What are 740 District Judges? Yeah. And 400 or 500 of them are left wing activist judges. So it's very hard to find a Republican among any of them, or any conservative. And they have a different philosophy than their, it's not constitutional law. It's active. They're an arm. Basically, what happened is when the Democrats lost the house and they lost the Senate and they lost the presidency, they had no official political power. So all these little obscure nobody judges, the lowest of the three tiers, kind of raised their hand. I'm Judge Broadsburg. I'm here for you and I want to be famous. So I'm going to declare every deportation illegal. I'm going to go sign every search warrant from our logo. I'll do anything you want. If, if Kevin Klein Smith forged a document and had hurt anybody connected with Trump, I'll give him a suspended sentence. So that's what they did. And they're mostly on Washington, New York corridor. And yeah, it's very hard to do that. Trump rails and says, why haven't we, why haven't we gone after these people who abuse the law? Well, the people who abuse the law were not just the prosecutors and not just the lawyers. They were the judges. You remember the judge in the E. Jean Carroll case? Was it Cohen or what was his name? And they said he was, they did not find an E. Jean Carroll. That civil suit that Donald Trump had committed rape. They said it was sexual assault. And I wrote a lot about it. If you want to read about it, 20 pages in the counter revolution showing how Trump thought and crazy that he was.
Eugene Carroll's case was, but they did not find him that. And he went on publicly and say, "Don Trump is convicted of rape." And they said, "No, he wasn't." And he said, "Well, that's just a technical legality." And in the real world, people know that sexual harassment or assault is the same thing as well. It's not. In today's world, you can walk into the office and pinch a girl in the neck, and that's sexual assault. But it's not rape. And he was a judge. And when you look at Judge Mershon, and he was hucking it up, and his daughter was making a fortune off that case, all of them, all those judges were biased, every single one of them. And that's why they were there. They were cherry-picked by Mark Elias and that whole legal mafia for the left. They said, "Get it, come to the White House three days earlier. This is what the Biden administration said. Three days earlier, November 15th, Trump says he's going to run for president. We didn't think the guy would do it, but he did it. And now we're going to destroy him because we can't allow him to come back. So get Fanny Willis's representative at the White House in three days. That same day, a point Jack Smith, get Michael Kola-Angelo, get him out of the DOJ. He helped with the Latino James, get him back there and guide the idiot, Alvin Bragg. And wound up with you to James, get her in here. That's what they did. And they coordinated the whole thing. You know, I have another topic here and it's about woke. And Chris Rock recently criticized woke one as being like Salem witch hunts. And we know AOC said it was a crazy time. But my question is this, don't you think woke two, which seems to be the DSA agenda, is even worse? Yes. Yes. Yeah, much worse. You can't say anything about everything as Islamophobia. So you have a guy running for Senate and Michigan. And you could argue that his father-in-law, his own mother, were involved in charities that had ties with you to the Muslim Brotherhood, or groups that had been labeled terrorist organizations, or were investigated for terrorist activities, who said in a hot mic that, let's not glory in the death of the Supreme terrorist leader, Komenay, because my constituents in Dearborn basically like him, right? And he's on record saying Sharia law, that he followed Sharia law. So all of that is Islamophobia if you point that out, and same thing with Hassan Piker. Well Hassan, you hate the United States. You said we deserve 9/11. You said no Jew will ever be nominated for the presidency. Again, why are you here? I know you're a U.S. citizen, but your parents came here to have you, to get you a citizen, and you were raised in Turkey. And you didn't come back here till you were an adult. Why do you want to be here when you hate this country? You said you hated it. I'm not making that up. And why alien Omar? Why are you here when you say that this is the worst country in the world? And when we look the other way, when you allegedly married your own brother to get him in the country, why do you like us so much? Why do you want to come over here when you obviously trash the country? If you get your way, if El Saeed gets his way, and Talib gets her way, and Piker gets her way, and Mandami gets her way, and Omar gets her way, and Milliot Kuros gets her way, they will reproduce what they fled from. They will create a bankrupt, socialist, tribalist, racialized country with feuding groups, just like Somali, just like Egypt, just like any of them, and then where will they go? I don't know. They're coming here because a different paradigm created a free market, calculus, private property, consensual, free speech, country that was more or less founded in the Judeo-Christian tradition, period. Yes. Exactly. So, you've mentioned El Saeed this week, and yes, his mother worked for a charity that was affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, and his sister-in-law was on one of the terrorist watch lists. But I was wondering your thoughts, because Martha McCowan also interviewed him, and-- She did a very good job. She did a good job, and she pressed him on the Muslim Brotherhood, and he would not condemn or say they were terrorists. She has a really disturbing habit, and that is--she would ask a question. He did this with Jesse Waters. He does it with everybody. She would ask a legitimate question, and he would then just go off on a monologue, and then she would try to--and he said, "Don't interrupt me. I get some time." So, if you look at that interview, and you looked at the seconds, he spoke versus her. He had a lot more, and he interrupts, and he filibusters, and then he complains that nobody is giving him enough attention, and then he always does one thing that nobody notices. He uses this word a hundred times conversation. Anytime he is pressed, we can have a conversation about that sometime. Are you in the share real law? Well, I was raised in--we can have a conversation about that. Did your constituent--did you say that? I can have a conversation about that. Are you for socialized--we can have a conversation like that. You keep referring to yourself as a doctor, but you've never had a doctor's medical license. You just have a degree in medicine, a physician's degree, but you're never practiced. We can have a conversation about that. That's what he does. And you see the Mundami family, I don't know if that's confirmed or not, but there's a lot of pressure account that his immediate family and in law, they're all getting in on his condemn property, get a contract to rebuild a food market, or they're getting contracts with a city at very inflated prices. So this is a socialist. I thought he hated capitalism. Why would he allow any members of his family if these allegations are true to do business with a city when they have a conflict of interest? Because you know the answer to that, underneath a thin veneer of every socialist, there is an angry, disappointed, failed capitalist. And when they don't make money and they see people feel it have less education and they're not as good and they can't talk as well, all factors that don't really adjudicate whether you're going to make money or not, they get angry, and so they're socialist. They hate people that work, I've had this conversation so many times when somebody said something about stupid people get money, they're all academics. And I've always said, with all due respect, you couldn't run a 7/11 for 24 hours. You wouldn't know what a payroll is, you wouldn't know a security, you wouldn't know what inventory was, you wouldn't know what insurance, profit margins, you wouldn't know what to do when the security cameras go off, you wouldn't know when your clerk at 2 in the morning is hit over the head and all your cash is stolen. You wouldn't know any of that. You know, yes, but I have a PhD and I'm one of the leading most scholars and the sociology of Uber. Well, yeah, but you wouldn't know how to run a farm, you wouldn't know how any business, any of those guys that run those businesses are brilliant. They are. All right, Victor, let's, we're coming to the end, so let's turn to comments. Mr. Hanson, I enjoyed your comments this week about Tucker as well as other subjects. Ego so often gets out of hand and I guess that that must be his case. As you know, going to Mar-Lago must be an aphrodisiac to anyone that it, that it must be hard to come back from, back, back down to earth. Great sessions, as always, cheers. And that is. That was very, very good letter and you're absolutely right. For Trump's sake, you shouldn't try to, you know, as I said, somebody drove me there once and I didn't know if he was going to be there, but he was, but I never gone back, not because I didn't want to. I don't like him. I just think that it's not good to be an insider, you know what I mean? And it'll go to your head. And you shouldn't, you should have distance it and respect the presidency. And don't think that you or a thinker or a mover or a shaker and don't call him, don't ride him, don't ask him for, don't ever do any of that. And we know that all those people did all of that, Marjorie Taylor-Green, Tucker. They all thought they had the president's ear and nobody has the president's ear. There's a 7 billion people on the planet that want the, he's the most powerful man in the world. Exactly. I think you risk turning from a journalist and commentator to a partisan and a pundit doing that. So you want to keep independent of it if your journalist seems to me or commentator. You can do more. If you really want to know and like Trump, you can do more for him by now.
not going a lot to there or not going on Air Force One, because then you'll be disinterested and you can criticize him when he needs criticism. And you won't. But the idea, that's what all of these, I know that sounds simplistic and reductionist, but all this anger of all these people who flipped when 90% of what Trump does is exactly what Tucker wanted on the border on crime, on DEI, on transgender and same thing with all of them. But if you feel that you're so important, the president wants you on Air Force One or in the Lincoln Bedroom, then he must listen to you. No, he doesn't listen to you. He doesn't listen to you. He thinks he listens to the president of France when he calls. Hello, I am Macron. I think you I don't think you should go to my. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, bye. See you. Yeah, exactly. I'm listening to you listens to everyone and no one at the same time. He's his own man. So I'm on interference in countries, other countries politics and then there's back and ours. Bill Barrow writes this. So my big question is now that it's obvious to even average people like me that these techniques of interfering, right? Are being used against us exactly where our our gatekeepers are protectors and our counterintelligence systems when Russia, China, Ireland, etc. started using our own playbook to dismantle our nation. I have to believe there were hundreds or thousands of non-political career intelligent people who swore and oath to defend us against these specific types of threats. Where are the billions or trillions of dollars that we spent on preventing these organized and well-managed attacks and all the people who have been on watch to keep this from ever happening. I don't know, but how are we dealing with it, Victor? You have to inculcate at a very early age a love of the country. It's not a natural thing. Should be, but unfortunately it's not. You have to have young children that are taught that this is better than any other country in the world. And they no need to know a corpus of God bless America, America, the beautiful, these presidents, a common loyalty. That's what JFK asked not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country. That's gone. And so you create people in the university that are inculcated on skepticism, cynicism, nailism, and they don't feel any deep. It has to be an emotional affection. And one thing I will say though, in response to the letter, in the Cold War, there were about 2,000 Soviet students here for reason. If you told one of the old Cold Warriors, Harry Truman, Dean Atchison, any of them, JFK, would you want 300,000 Russian studying all around? They would say no. Are you crazy? They're backward compared to our technology. They're going to steal it. So why do we have 300,000 Chinese nationals here, not Taiwanese, communist China? If it's only five, if it's only 1% you know what I mean, you got what, 3000. So they're engaged. And when you see that they're cyber people and they're AI people are as adept as ours almost, well they were all trained at MIT Stanford, Caltech, and they go back there and they train theirs. But they also are only about six months behind us because that's how long it takes them to get the latest US discovery or innovation. And when you look at their, I know I've said this so many times, but I go online on a lot of military history sites. When I see their tanks, their uniforms, their jets, they can just take off all the insignia and put US on. They're just copies all of them. And maybe they're better fabricated, I don't know, but it's depressing. And we're giving away that. I just think I would be very careful about giving visas to people from places that don't like us, like China and the Middle East. Okay, Victor, so I just have one last and this one's a nice one from Linda Swoop Austin. Through a 50-year-plus marriage, I was spoon-fed the basics of the world around me by my husband, who's studied the news. I trusted his opinion. I was fully occupied with my role in home making while working to supplement the family income. Since his death, I am playing catch-up because I want to understand so that I can vote wisely. I'm grateful for your plain-spoken explanation of all topics. So that was a very nice one from some of the news. It's always good to see people that, I mean, think of all that. You raise a family, you manage the entire, you know, the word economics, Euconomia, it, you know, it came from household management. Xenophon Rototritus, the Euconomicus, household management. That's how we had the idea that people who could manage the household, the budget, the nourishing of children, was an economist. That's what the term came from. And then I like people like that that they take a self-introspection of themselves. Where am I strong? I'm very industrious. I have a job outside the home. I manage the home. I raise good to politics. My husband was augmenting my knowledge. He's not here. Therefore, I shall learn and investigate. I try to do that, but it takes a lot of self-discipline and self-criticism and self-improvement that you know where you're weak or you know where you want to be a good citizen. So I really admire people like the letter writer. Yeah, that is very inspiring. I just think she thinks that she was, she needed more information. So she knew she was going to explore ways to get it. Yes, yeah. So Miss Austin, it was a very inspirational letter. Thank you, Victor, for your wisdom today. Thanks to our audience for joining us on this Friday news roundup. Podcast Summary
Key Points:
The "Cornell 7" case involves allegations of sexual misconduct at a party, where a drunk 20-year-old girl was involved with multiple men, raising ethical and legal questions about consent and responsibility.
Despite claims of "technically" consent, Victor Davis Hansen argues that morally, all seven individuals are ethically bankrupt for exploiting a vulnerable, intoxicated woman.
The case highlights a cultural issue where male dominance and thuggish behavior are glorified, especially in youth environments, and where social media influencers promote provocative, promiscuous portrayals of women.
Legal challenges to prosecuting the cases are likely due to the difficulty in proving rape when the victim later retracts her statement or expresses regret, making jury conviction improbable.
European allies are seen as unreliable due to political failures, poor intelligence practices, and social policies that foster insecurity, especially regarding immigration and Muslim populations.
The Green Party in Britain voted to label Zionism as racist and support a Palestinian state, undermining Jewish rights and drawing criticism for anti-Semitic stances.
Victor criticizes the political and media narrative around "woke" ideology, arguing it is more dangerous than past witch hunts and leads to systemic bias against minority groups.
He warns that socialist candidates, especially those with ties to extremist ideologies or family conflicts of interest, pose a threat to free markets, individual rights, and national stability.
Summary:
FAQs
The 'Cornell 7' case involves allegations of sexual misconduct at a university party where a woman, intoxicated and under pressure, reportedly engaged in a threesome. The men involved claim technical consent, but the narrative suggests ethical violations. Victor Davis Hansen argues that morally, all seven individuals are 'bankrupt' for exploiting a vulnerable, intoxicated person, despite legal uncertainties.
Legally, proving rape in court is complex, especially if the victim initially claims consent. Victor notes that in this case, it would be very hard to prove to a jury that the act was rape, especially if the victim later retracts her claim or expresses regret. The legal system may not convict due to the difficulty of proving a lack of consent under certain circumstances.
Yes. Victor emphasizes that 'technically' saying 'yes' does not equate to moral or ethical behavior, especially when the person is intoxicated or pressured. He argues that morally, the actions of the men involved are bankrupt because they took advantage of a vulnerable, impaired individual.
Victor notes that social media reports suggest the woman involved was white, and some of the men were people of color, including Black, Asian, and Latino. He warns that critics may favor non-white individuals, potentially leading to a racially biased narrative, which could skew public perception and legal outcomes.
Victor links the 'Cornell 7' case to a wider cultural problem where men glorify swaggering and mistreating women. He points to rap music and pop culture as examples, arguing that these portrayals normalize aggressive, disrespectful behavior toward women, which undermines healthy sexual norms.
Yes. Victor expresses concern that European allies, such as the UK and Germany, have failed to provide reliable military support. He cites examples like the release of terrorists on bail and the refusal to allow U.S. use of bases, suggesting these actions reveal a lack of trust and commitment to U.S. security interests.
