Victor Davis Hanson: They Are Trying to Rewrite WWII History

Victor Davis Hanson delivers a comprehensive critique of contemporary political and cultural trends in Europe and the United States, arguing that both nations are in decline due to a combination of demographic collapse, ideological extremism, and a loss of traditional values. He strongly disputes Tucker Carlson’s revisionist claims about World War II, emphasizing that Britain’s entry into the war was a moral and strategic necessity to defend Poland and uphold international commitments, not a choice that would have benefited Britain. Hanson highlights the role of Soviet aggression against Britain in the early war years and the catastrophic consequences of allowing Hitler to expand unchecked. He also details the deepening crisis in Europe, driven by high rates of immigration from Muslim-majority countries, cultural enclaves, and failed policies that prioritize social welfare over national strength. These trends are mirrored in the U.S., where he points to the rise of radical ideologies, including support for Sharia law among youth, and the erosion of historical knowledge. He criticizes government overreach, such as in California under Gavin Newsom, which he sees as wasteful, unproductive, and ideologically driven. The episode concludes with a powerful defense of conservative principles, noting that the resurgence of traditional values—exemplified by the Catholic response to Pope Leo’s visit in France—may represent a necessary counter-revolution. Hanson warns that without decisive action, the West will face a long-term decline, and that history’s lessons, such as the dangers of appeasement and moral complacency, must be heeded.

Tucker is completely wrong, he says that Britain did not have to fight World War II that if Hitler had been allowed to win and keep all of his ill-gotten gains from the Russian border all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, Britain would have been better off, Britain was attacked, bombed by the help of the Soviet Union. There wouldn't be a Jew in Europe today or in the United States probably because a lot of him came over here and Hitler won. Tucker knows that. Well, hello ladies and hello gentlemen and welcome to Victor Davis Hansen in his own words on the daily signal network on Jack Fowler, the host of the show I get to ask Victor the questions I think you would ask him if you were standing here on a cold night in Millford, Connecticut. We are recording on Sunday October 4th and this particular episode will be up on Tuesday October 6th, Victor is the Martin and Ely Anderson Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, the way to Marsha Busky Distinguished Fellow in History at Hillsdale College. He has a website the Blade of Perseus, VictorHansen.com is the address and if you're smart enough to subscribe, which is $65 a year, you will find that at VictorHansen.com and you will be able to read the twice-weekly exclusive articles Victor writes for the Blade of Perseus plus the exclusive video he does. Speaking of videos, Victor does for a week for the daily signal on that show is called Victor Davis Hansen in a few words and Victor is a senior contributor to the daily signal. Victor, I'm going to ask you today about France burning about the Cornell rape case quote-unquote rape. Conrad Black has a column on the resurgence of Catholicism in France. We will find time at the end of the show to get your take on the now infamous interview that Tucker Carlson had with Jacob Reece Smog of the UK. Yes, it involves Adolf Hitler and we'll get to all of that when we come back from these initial important messages. A disturbing curriculum is being used in hundreds of schools around the country and many parents don't even know it's called rights, respect and responsibility or the three R's. But behind those simple words are lessons with graphic depictions of naked children requiring young children to name and identify genitalia. This isn't a health curriculum, it's extremely explicit sex ed material pushed on kids as young as five and parents who are sounding the alarm on it in one state report that their school district has been ignoring them. Our friends at Alliance Defending Freedom are gathering 100,000 signatures on a petition to get this program out of schools and to protect parents' rights to direct their kids' education. Sign the petition by texting Hansen to 83848 or visit joinadf.com/hansen that's Hansen to 83848 or visit joinadf.com/hansen. We are back with Victor Davis Hansen in his own words and I forgot to add, well I'm giving all these descriptions about you Victor, that you are the best selling author. Once again, and this book is the counter-revolution, the fallen rise of Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, Kudos continued Kudos Victor for the strong sales of this. That was very surprised. It's week three on the New York Times, still there, but it's syncing on the list, but it's still there. Well, very few people can say they had any book to sync on that list. One quick thing Victor, the day this episode comes out October 6th will be the day that our dear friends Eli Steele and Shelby Steele release of their documentary White Guilt. If folks want to find out more about that, you should go to whitegiltfilm.com. I think you are going to have Eli on. Yes, I am going to have him on pretty soon. Okay, I think I'm going to have him on on the seventh, the next day. Oh, okay. Multibene. All right, Victor, let's get started. And Shelby too. Shelby Anna. Yeah. The only thing better than Shelby and Eli is Mrs. Steele, who is a lovely lady. I come to cigarette off her once on a national review cruise. That's one of my small claims to fame. Well, why don't we get started? We'll talk about France. Yeah, let's talk about France. Okay. So I am certain many of our viewers and listeners have seen the videos of French schools and cities on fire. So here's something I'm reading from X, like encapsules things, acid thrown at police, a principal doused in petrol, 83 officers injured 625 arrested. The kids are harmless as a mellicon, and the crackdown is racist, et cetera, et cetera. Head teacher gets petrol poured on him, cops take acid to the face, then Bali, Baguioco, the far left mayor of the country's most infamous snow go zone, Sant Denise, joined student rioters who were attacking a school in the area. Victor is is is is France circling the drain. This is madness, but one other thing I believe I've also seen some headlines that some police officers have been linked. So anyway, your take on what's all of Europe is in real trouble. And France has a very high percentage of foreign born, and I think it's almost 10 or 12% and with second generation, it's up to 30 or 40 Sweden is 30% just first generation. And this these immigrants are from the Middle East. They're very chauvinistically Muslim. They don't seem for a variety of reasons willing to assimilate a culture rate or integrate. So they have these enclaves. They have a higher fertility rate Europe as a whole. France is the one exceptions about 1.6. The rest of it is 1.3, which means the population is shrinking by 30 or 40 million people a year out of the 6 or 700 million that make up greater Europe. And it's aging. And so you have, and then these are parliamentary democracies. So when you have a constituency that 16, 17, 18% of the population and it's growing, then you have appeasing politicians on the left who not only cater and pander to it, but they created it. This all started Jack with Tony Blair and his successors. And the idea was just like the left in America there, agenda of the labor party like the Democratic party had gone so left they they had no 70, 30 winning issues. So they open the borders to get new constituencies and to lacks and voting to make lacks voting laws. But the problem is twofold. Number one, this is not an isolated existential problem. They France is a little different with nuclear power, but most of Europe has forsaken fossil fuels and have gone green and their kilowatt cost or about double. Europe, Europe's about double, but in particular countries, the powerhouses of the continent like Britain and Germany, it's three or four times that of the United States. In addition to that until Trump threatened and boisterously bombastically forced them to start to rearm, they're still still pathetically armed. Everybody says they're doing great, but it's only in comparison to where they were. And it's too late to little I'm afraid in addition to that. So they they have the social economy. It's like Canada's it can't sustain the sort of 40% of the budget in France is going toward. Social welfare program. So they're really protesting. It's very it's very interesting to hear as I was trying to look at some of the news reports online and in. Cable news that people from O Ethiopia, Somalia, Algeria are complaining about things on camera like cockroaches and screwing across the bathroom floor in their schools or not enough air conditioning. Well, there's no air condition for anybody really in Europe, but what do they think it was like where they are. I think people who observe this as they observe are similar problems. And by the way, everybody when we talk about%. manyages, we're no better, we're worse. We have about 55 million emigrants and 17% of our population. But if you add in there, second generation that are not assimilating, you're up to 40% in the United States, it would be no problem if they were ill on mosque or any other people from any other country of any race if they don't want it to integrate and contribute to be self-supporting. I'm just taking Elon Musk as kind of a character of a hyper-successful immigrant. But when they don't want to integrate and they want to create Dearborn Michigan's in multiple sites, it's not going to work. And so Europe, because its fertility is worse than ours, its cost are worse than ours, its military is worse than ours. Add it all up and it's not working. And so you're going to see the globalist, your technocrat, your aircraft, I think, be replaced in the next two years. Marialla Pins going to win that election just like the alternative for Deutschland will and just like Maloney will be elected and just like you'll see some type of conservative government in Britain. The question is to what links the Euro-establishment will create laws or try, they did try to stop them in a way that they're doing with lapin. If she is elected, she'll have to wear an ankle bracelet as a felon. So they're doing to her what they did to Trump. But I don't think they can stop it because they don't have an argument. When you talk to these people who were in the street or the leaders of these people and you ask them about Islam and non-integration and whether they love France, their numbers are such they're no longer dissimulate. They're candid. They say they don't like France. They hate the West. They want Islam. They don't want Islam in their own Islamic countries, but they want free market Western capitalism, Western constitutional protections for freedom, and they want Western security where they can it's safe. But they want that in the West, but they also want a little homeland in the West. It's such a paradox, a contradiction, a hypocrisy that I think it's unsustainable, but it's going to it's something it's kind of like as I said before, Tolkien's gondor, a last Europe is right on the press. But the last stronghold on the frontier and it's been overrun and it's warning to everybody in the new world to be careful because we're going to lose Europe. And I think Trump is very he doesn't communicate this as well as he might, but he's he's very misunderstood in Europe. With his advocacy of re-arming and his advocacy of fertility and his advocacy of fossil fuels and ascending of billions of dollars worth of and it's good trade for us of natural gas to your. He wants Europe to succeed and be a partner against common enemies, but it's not sustainable. I don't use that term too much, but it's something's going to give pretty soon. Well, Victor, along the lines of something giving, Conrad Black, our friend. I'm very fond of Conrad. I think he's a beautiful writer. I am too. He is a piece. Well, folks should go to X. Look at his account there. We has an excerpt or an analysis of a piece he's written for the Brussels signal where he now is a columnist, but he's talking about Catholicism rising in Europe. And I'll read this quickly. He says the most potentially important phenomenon is the contemporary resurgence of Roman Catholicism. Pope Leo's visit to France was an astonishing occasion. The open-air mass in the Place de la Concorde drew a responsibly estimated 800,000 people that stretched all the way up the Shons-Elysée to the arch de Trianf. Nothing remotely like this has been seen anywhere in Europe outside of Italy and Poland for more than a century. It demonstrates a public exasperation that extends far beyond France with the failures and squalid compromises of the most militant secularists in civil government. Victor, I do agree that the outpouring, the out turn out for the Pope's visit to France is kind of shocking with the numbers and maybe the resistance. Maybe there's a counter-revolution emerging. It might not be enough, but I think thoughts on that. Well, I think I've said that as frustrating as the French are when we think of the damage of postmodernism, Foucault, Aderida, Lacan, Assarte, when you think about it though, when you meet traditional Frenchmen and women, conservatives, they are the most passionate, articulate and best defenders of the West. There's not a lot of them, but I'm surprised there was 800,000 of them on the streets. So they're very valuable to the West. There's something about France, I think, the Americans feel. I think they feel superficially or more commonly, they get frustrated with them. They're rude. They're arrogant. They're chauvinistic. You feel that as insecure people, they're always trying to think of themselves as the cultural capital of the world as it was in the 19th century, but it is no longer. They're envious and jealous that the United States had to come over and save them twice. You could argue that losing 350,000 dead and another 600,000 casualties at Verdun in 1916 to stop the German assault and they succeeded, but they were never the same after that. That all said, there's something in the American character that likes the French. There really is. For all the reasons that they can be exasperating, there's something about their verb or their lust for life or when you meet a Frenchman who's on afraid of criticism that wants to defend the West, there is no better person that you'll ever find. That's the way I've experienced with them. I agree with you. I don't know where it comes from, but I like France. Even though I call them freedom fries back in the days. Well, I mean, cry the beloved country. I hope that they have enough left of the people I'm talking about to stop this madness. I hope we do too, because it's going to come here. You can already see clips of places in Islamic strongholds or enclaves where people are either saying things in Arabic or doing things that are contrary to the values of the United States. They're getting savvy about how to use the political system. I have a troubling poll to bring up with you along those points, Victor. So, I'll do that, but first I want to let our listeners and our viewers know that if you've studied enough history, you start to see a pattern. Nations don't lose their way overnight. They drift through debt and division until one day you realize the foundations you thought were permanent were never permanent at all. Today, America is spending at levels once reserved for a war time. We've normalized deficits that would have stunned earlier generations and policymakers now debate whether the only path forward is more intervention, more printing, more distortion. But here's the historical truth. Every society that pushed its currency beyond discipline eventually paid a price. The wise, though, they never waited for collapse. They prepared for the correction. And that's why so many thoughtful Americans, especially those nearing retirement or in retirement, are reallocating part of their wealth into something that has outlasted every paper experiment in human history. Physical gold, not a speculation, but as insulation. Now, our reputation at Victor Davis Hanson in his own words matters to us, which is why we're partnering with Allegiance Gold, a company distinguished by integrity, reliability, and an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. For years, they've guided thoughtful Americans through transparent education and long-standing relationships built on trust. And right now, they're extending a special Liberty offer to our listeners and our viewers to help you get started with real gold. History rewards those who take the long view when we thank the good people from Allegiance goal for once again sponsoring Victor Davis Hanson in his own words. Victor at the risk of upsetting people by the continued sound of my voice. John Hinderaker at Powerline had a very interesting post the other day. It's titled, "What's wrong with young people?" And he talks, his what he wrote, "Who, after all, could possibly be in favor of Sharia law?" Well, quite a few young people, it turns out, for Sharia law, 43% of the youngest voters like it. A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen reports, and our republic finds that 21% of likely US voters have at least a somewhat positive opinion of Sharia, a systemic system of Islamic religious principles and law. 57% view Sharia negatively. A positive views of Sharia are much higher among younger voters, including 43% of voters, ages 18 to 24, and 39% of those ages 25 to 89. This much more here, I suggest folks go to Powerline and check that out. That's disturbing Victor. Any thoughts? Well, these aren't Hillsdale students. So my point is, if you took that same demographic and you walked up to them and said, "Did you know that the latest scientific research has made a good argument that the moon is actually made of green cheese? Did you know that?" I would say that the same said, "Yeah, I knew that." So I don't think they know what Sharia is. All they know is to the degree that they've heard it, it came out of the lips of somebody on the left, and usually in a university or podcast context. That's it. They don't read books, they don't talk to people about politics or other than just scream or yell, and they have no nothing professors that feed them that dribble, or they go into an internet quote unquote influencer. That's it. That's all they know. For years, Bill O'Reilly used Jesse Waters and Jesse Waters uses Johnny to go interview people on Fox News. I know that they edited and all of that stuff, but it's pretty depressing when you see people that don't know who Lincoln is, they don't know who Washington is, they ask them, "What is the Supreme Court? They have no idea." We've really lost a whole generation, and it's more than just losing two years during COVID. It's this educational system, and it's Western White. It's a sickness. When we're talking about Europe, there was a news story that one of the survivors, and I know you saw that same thing that I did, Jack, because it was circulating, where they broke in, they shot a young boy, killed him. They being the terrorist and their subordinate civilians, and then they shot the father who was trying to protect two little boys, and they were shivering there, injured, crying. That surviving mother, she's been speaking about trying to tell people what October 7th was. She got on the stage in the Netherlands and the Netherlands, right? They booted her and said, "I wish Germans had finished off all of you." So being Tessa, Tessa, yeah. That's an illness. Too bad the Germans didn't finish you off. Anti-Semitism, I think everybody knows that. It's the barometer of a sick society, a symptom. It's always suppressed when a society, it's suppressed, ostracized, criticized, driven out when a society is confident and successful. When a society is in crisis, it creeps back in like a virus that's latent, like an EBV virus or something, and it's with us now. So it's a tell-tale sign of how sick the West is right now. Everybody, according to their station, should try to speak up about it. Unfortunately, we have people like Tucker and others that are espousing thoughts that we haven't heard since the 1930s. It's really weird, strange, hell bent. Well, we'll get to him later. I did want to, I'm springing this on you because I just talked about a poll and then we're going to get to get your thoughts on the Cornell situation. But the California governor's way, so I just saw a headline picture right before we came on that the, it's tightening. Now, I don't know what this means. We like this poll because it's good news for conservatives, but Basera Hilton, right now the Basera's lead has shrunk to 5.6%. He's, Basera has 45.7. Hilton, 40.1 and 14% undecided. That's interesting. I think you've, you talked to Mr. Hilton a few days ago, but any thoughts on that before we move on a little bit. I introduced him last week to a group of people in the Central Valley in the Fresno area. And then I asked him a series of questions, which he did not know in advance. None of them. And I asked him specific questions about California water policy of Temperance Flat project of the 1914 water bond. I switched over to the amount of money. High speed rail had, you know, blown. How much was it? What do you think of the level of fraud, the magnitude, the Pacific palisades, where what was the mayor of the right? He knew everything, everything. He not just knew it. He gave really analytical, great answers. And then I watched that debate with Basera. All Basera said was Trump, your Trump, your Trump, your Trump. That was it. And then he goes back in his basement. The only thing that I don't, I think the only wild card here is two things. I think since this campaign started, my wife and I have been asked either by pop phone calls or internet texts 50 times to comment for a poll. I just shut them up. I say no. I have a feeling that every conservative says the same thing. Just because they hate pollsters and number two, they feel that they're trying to get your information to bombard you with some type of propaganda at best and other things at worst because there is a paranoid. And the other thing is the Mexican American community is very conservative. And ostensibly they will tell you the ones that I've talked to that Basera is their guy is ethnic pride. But he represents an ideology that they're moving away from. So he's going to try to bring them back to the numbers that will guarantee his victory 70% of the Mexican American vote. But if Hilton got 45% he might win. And I'm I'm just curious because I don't think a lot of my Mexican American friends feel comfortable vote, vote, uh, voicing that they will, they will vote against Basera because he's a hard leftist. But we'll see. And, uh, the only, everybody says the ice thing has lost them. It might, it lost a lot of the young people. No doubt about it on the Hispanic community. But when you see that 40% of ice or Mexican Americans and you see that when you talk to Mexican American communities and they can tell you that the deportations and the arrest of criminals have made their streets safer and their institutions for low income people. And there is a large percentage of low income people in minority communities and white too. But here in California, especially the Mexican American community, they have greater access. And that's a wild card. The other thing is something's happening nationally. Uh, they have been writing off Paxton, Susan Collins. Uh, they've been, uh, Mike Rogers, uh, Michelle to FOIA, they write them off. But when you look at the actual races, they are tightening up. All they say is this, the left and the polster. Oh, this is very bad. Texas should have been just, they shouldn't have spent a penny in Texas. Ohio, that's a red state. They shouldn't have spent a penny in Ohio. All soft in Georgia. They never say, well, this is very bad. Blue state, Michigan, blue state, Minnesota, blue state, Maine are all up for grabs. Even the, the governorship and organs up for grab. So something's going on. It's just what we've always said is that they have enough time. The momentum is starting to shift. But we'll see. Trump says he's going, he's already killing himself doing every night at Raleigh, but it's dependent how much money will they he release, et cetera, et cetera. What will happen in Iran? What will Iran's October surprise be? What will the left wing October surprise, but all of these are known on the world. But the whole question is do they have enough time because they are catching they're recovering a lot of ground even people Like Michael Barone said that today even people like I mean Dick Morris has been saying that Michael Barone has been saying it a lot of people that are poster even car a little backtracked a little bit and said Maybe we're all wrong about the midterm Well these economic some of these economic numbers are down to you know 5% growth GDP growth is almost unheard of hey Victor We're going to talk about another controversial issue or two but first to our listeners and to our viewers we are delighted to welcome blackout coffee to the show as a sponsor They've been making huge waves in the coffee industry for reasons you will love blackout coffee was started eight years ago by John and Rachel a husband and wife team who built a company from the ground up and are still very involved in the business today They're an American family owned company roasting their own coffee in Florida and they believe in many of the same things We talk about here hard work family and the American dream how refreshing to see a company built around all the right things and since they take their coffee seriously you can get an awesome cup each time I I have my I'm gonna show this for my Morning Reaper medium roast premium coffee yum yum blackout has a wide range of roasts available in ground coffee Whole bean and coffee pods. So there's something for just about every coffee drinker John and Rachel are building something big here in America and Applying Americans while never losing that family business touch. They are proud to support our troops and first responders and they make really really Good coffee. So if you'd like to give blackout coffee a try go to blackoutcoffee.com/vdh or use a code vdh for 20% off your first order. That's blackoutcoffee.com slash vdh and we thank the bit people from blackout coffee for sponsoring Victor Davis Hanson in his own words and Victor even though here It's nine o'clock at night I'm gonna drink some blackout coffee. You can call me at three in the morning to tell me how well you'll be awake You'll be awake three o'clock your time, but anyway, it's very delicious. So okay, Victor Cornell, wow Very quick here. I mean, I have to believe most if everyone watches a listen to the shows knows what's going on But my questions are is there any is this really about regret and having Reputation sland is this hook up regret? We want to get your thoughts on how the attorney general Latisha James is now involved and just this quote from Camille if you go to a fraternity house party with the chaos going on in the living room area and a young man says to you Would you like to go up to my room? I'm sorry. You were consenting to sex. She said he is right to think you have Consented to go up there Victor. Whatever has happened there is in the eyes. I'm sure of God Simple but whether it's illegal or whether it's rape is it entirely different. Sorry. So your thoughts on a lot of flexities here I'm a big admirer of Camille Palo Padglet, but I think she's 90% correct in most things, but here she's semi correct You're having a rowdy horrific Frat party people are being a woman is outnumbered of one of the men says you want to go up to my room? She says yes I don't think that consent to go up to the room implies consent to have sexual Congress He may have said it's crazy here He may have wanted a romance or he may have wanted to talk and may have led to a kiss and may have led to other things But it not necessarily Proof that he was going to have sex. I was thinking when I read that I went to UC Santa Cruz I think I mentioned my dad dropping me off and being shocked and the first They had these dorm parties and the first time I went I Saw two people having sexual intercourse in the party Now this wasn't a frat so it's not a bunch of rowdy frat boys This was a left-wing group of people and they were drinking and people were getting Perring off and then they about eight of them went out to the cow swimming pool to go nude swimming and I was sitting there And there was a young girl sitting there and she looked at me and shook her head and I I just said Would you like to go sit out by the pool and we didn't know what was going on? So we sat out by the pool and talked I talked her for about two hours and Then the next day she called me up, and I think we went on a date or two, but it It wasn't it wasn't an invitation to have sex. It was sort of an invitation and get out of there but you can be there's two things going on here Jack and they can be mutually exclusive As I said earlier with Sammy a Girl who's only 20 should not go into bar and drink when it's the drinking ages 21 because for her own protection She can be arrested she should not go to a dorm when she's intoxicated when there's a lot of boys Pelia's actually paglia's all obviously right If a boy asked her to go up to his room. She should ask him She should have asked him in advance. Is this to get away or to talk or what? I'll talk to you and I like to get to know you, but I'm not going so that was true She but she was intoxicated. So that was a bigger mistake All of those were mistakes was at a mistake to say That she wasn't raped right after the incident. Yes. Was it a mistake? To try to contact some of her assailants. Yes It was a mistake to change her story. Yes. Does that mean that all of these seven people are Legally guilty of rape maybe not so we'll have to look at the evidence Then there's the other question ethics morality was it moral of these men to invite a drunken girl over and Be vastly outnumbered and then to create a scene where a number of boys Perform sex acts more upon her than with her and then one of them Texted sort of an invitation for other people to come over and sexually what would be I would call sexually abuse it so these were these boys morally wrong and really we pugnant and Ethically disgusting and was the culture of the frat that night Deproperably. Yes, maybe it was not illegal and I think a lot of people are trying to argue that the boys are all being post facto Demonized and it's going to be me too again, but that doesn't mean it's not a Harvey Weinstein case in other words you can say that Girls actresses were naive to go into Harvey Weinstein's apartment No, but they cannot say that Harvey Weinstein did not rape women. He did that you and So you can you can say everything you want about these people, but and you may be able to say that they didn't actually Rape her that there was consent whether it was completely but that isn't that's a different question of Should these people be ostracized and condemn for their amoral unethical, ungenomantly and repugnant behavior? Yes Yes, there's one other twist and I want to be very careful we've had a lot of people that are surprising like Sonny Huston in the view making a spirited defense of all of them and You would think that the feminist would have be locked stock and barrel, but there's divided ranks among the left So there was a couple of reports and I think they're on confirm, but one of the people who writes columns. I think her name is peachy keen and keen. That's they pseudonym for a very bright mother of several children happily married. It's very brilliant and writes, but that's a lot at the American mind Yes, and she's not next. Yes, and she but she wasn't the only one that wrote on social media that This was there were two boys who were white who had no physical contact with her But we're part of the group and they were part of the quote unquote cornell 7 that the actual boys that had graphic sexual Relations of various sorts whether when she was reportedly intoxicated were Asian one Latino two and black three the person who Text to others to join in and take advantage of it was black and we don't know the racial background what I'm saying is that now we're into an intersectionality Crisis among the left where you have feminist who and see her as a manifestation of say Lindsey Clancy and Everything about them. They're completely guilty of horrific crimes. Not just horrific behavior But then you have others in the dean the eye group coming forward and saying that young men of color and not young men who were white were going with the most severely punished and will be the most severely punished. And this is a racial map. That's going to come out. It's already been out there in the subtext of all the discussions. To me, it doesn't really matter what color they are. There's just simply two categories who did not touch her because they felt that she was drunk and unable to properly give consent. And then if she didn't consent, it's pre-civilizational to have, I think, sex with another partner in a room with a person not involved. I mean, should not be involved, two is Western norms, anything above that is either voyeurisms or threesome or pretty disgusting. So that's number one, and number two is, then who were the people who actually engage in sex or egged on sex by texting or Snapchatting to other people to join in? And it doesn't matter which group was white and which was not. But I think you'll see a lot of the usual cast in the racial demagoguery ranks that will step forward to try to defend the boys, not on the actual circumstances or not on their character, but on their race. Victor, do you have any thoughts about Governor Hoko, appointing Attorney General Latisha James to be a special prosecutor? I think that's what I mentioned that because you mentioned her. Because she's a racial arsonist. She ran again and again by whipping up black sentiment against Donald Trump and said before she even opened a case, real estate, she was going to go get them. They hand picked a minority jury and she appealed to race subtext throughout that trial. They find him with interest about a half a billion dollars, and they got their conviction, so they called him a felony in a nanosecond. But that was a trumped up horrific thing to do to somebody when the bank that issued him the loan had no problem with the loan, no problem with the collateral assessment, no problem with timely interest, no problem with him paying off the loan early, no problem with loaning again and they were not able to testify fully to that effect. And nor were assessors who told the judge both in private chambers and informally that Marlago was worth a lot more than even Donald Trump claimed as collateral, which the suit was inflated in an unlawful manner. So when you bring somebody like that in, then there's going to be a racial motive. And I think that perked up everybody's ears. She knows something Kathy Hocal does that other people don't, and that's why she appointed, she took the Attorney General to go in there because the local district attorney who chose that not to find them legally culpable, or at least not legally culpable enough to persuade a grand jury, did not want to pursue the case and she's going to make a racial issue out of it. Well, Victor, we're going to take a little break and when we come back from that break, we're going to talk about Gavin Newsom, Maureen Healey, Maureen Healey, the Governor of Massachusetts and Tucker Cross, and we'll do all that when we come back from these important messages. Many Americans are going to have a big wake up call. We have never seen net migration as high as it has been in the last few years. This year, there have been more people coming to the UK in small boats than ever before. You did an extreme thing to the country. Britain is facing a migrant crime epidemic. We don't actually know where they're coming from, who they are, how old they are. Why would you let in millions of people who are indebted, if not to change the country from within? There is no other word for it, demographic replacement. England's a blue thing for America, it's coming, it's just a blue thing. Thousands of daily migrant crossings, a political earthquake threatens to reshape America. We are showing there is a new path for politics in our country, not all cultures are the sites. You can not, that's shitty. America is a nation of immigrants, we are a nation of immigrants, we are a nation of immigrants. The immigration crisis, watch now on the Heritage Foundations YouTube channel. We are back with Victor Davis Hanson in his own words. We are talking on Sunday evening, October 4th, and this particular episode will be on Tuesday, October 6th. We're going to record our next show, maybe between now and then we're not going to talk about Iran on this show, but I have a funny feeling, significant things might, news might break. Victor, let's talk first about Gavin Newsom, two bills that he has signed, one, California law requiring, requiring companies to disclose ties to slavery. If the company has more than $100 million in annual worldwide gross receipts, it could be required to submit sworn disclosures about slavery related transactions. This one bill, this is partially to kiss up to the California Legislative Black Caucus and reparations, then there's another bill that he signed, it's a 25% tax on private ICE detention centers in California, Newsom when he signed the bill says if we can't kick out private facilities, we'll go after their profits. And he thoughts about your favorite governor. He is the, Gavin, I want to be very careful because I don't like to be prone to hyperbole. He is the worst governor of any state that I've seen in my lifetime. I drove today over to the coast we did today and when you look at the number of drivers and the infrastructure of California's roads, it's pathetic. And he sits there when you look at the Pacific Palisades, it's still charred. When you look at the high-speed rail and we went right by it today, not one foot of track for $15 to $20 billion. When you look at the other forest fires, the Aspen Fire, the Paradise Fire, when you look at the price of, do you know what price of diesel fuel was? No, no, no, 840 and the coast, it was 660 for gas. Now that's not just because of the round of war, that's because he's shutting down two oil refineries and we've lost all 200 nationwide and he's got the biggest consumption of oil in the United States by state, not even close and we're sitting on the fifth largest reserves of oil and he's importing it from autocratic Saudi Arabia, which he knows cannot extract oil from mother earth any better environmentally than we can in California and much worse. And we're importing, we find gasoline from Japan and from the Caribbean as we pay 40 cents of kilowatt given these massive solar and wind. With all those problems and with all the fact as Steve Hilton keeps saying, we have the highest income taxes, we have the highest power in the continental United States rates, we have the highest gas prices, we have the second highest gas taxes, we have the fifth highest sales tax, again, highest income tax rates, we have a third of the nation's welfare recipients, we have nearly half the homeless, we spend in the top 10% per capita on students in education and they're at the bottom 10% and I could go on to them, even whorcer. And what does he do? He talks about three or four things. One, race, race, race, race, race. There hasn't been any slavery in the United States in 160 years. California was never a slave state. There is no one in California that can say that this state at any time in its pre-civilization, pre-civil war, it was a state, remembered 11 years before the Civil War started. It never had slaves. This was a state of unionist who sent boys to fight and die to stop the South. Very few Californians, and I want to remind the Cabinus that almost 50%, maybe 45 of Californians were either not born here or their parents were not born here. They have no experience with slavery. And I will say the same thing about the shrinking black population, the snow longer, 9 or 10% of the state, it's about 3%, 3 and a half. Not one person there, if you ask them to name an ancestor, a great-grandfather, our ground for that experience slavery, they couldn't do it. We were one always one of the most liberal states and so for him to just pound that issue is The worst sort of demagoguery the second thing he always does it's Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump He's obsessed with Donald Trump the third thing he does He has no consistent attention span one day It's Trump Trump and then the next day. I got to hire a bunch of young kids that are my Social media, and they're going to be more foul mouth than Donald Trump the next day. I have a new idea. I'm going to try to Run for president as a moderate. So I'm gonna have podcasts with Steve Bannon and Charlie Kirk junk that the next day Oh, the democratic socialists are a wave. So I'm gonna say what do I say now guys? Hey, Gavin say that capitalism doesn't work. Yes, capitalism. We know doesn't work and Nick. It's just constant He has all he does is wiggle his arms and shoulders and try to look like he's Jack Kennedy and it doesn't work. He's in completely empty suit and he's done If you want to chart the decline of California and why we lost 10 million brilliant hardworking people you start with his 10 year over almost 30 plus years Board of Supervisors San Francisco mayor of San Francisco Lieutenant governor of California Governor of California and before that various boards and so he's never had a job Outside except things that Gordon Gettie gave him seed money and then subsidized his incompetence He's not a very nice person. He's not a good person. He's not He's not even capable of being a mediocre governor. It's that bad and He every time you see him he will not talk about things you just say Gavin Can you please tell me why we voted for seven billion dollars for water and Almost three billion to be build reservoirs and you never built one Gavin you don't want tell me why we spent 30 billion we're going to spend very quickly and you don't have one Foot of track can you just concentrate on that? Can you tell us why the 99 freeway after all these years is the most dangerous per miles driven of any Road major road in the country. Can you just tell them? Can you tell us why California San Francisco had the highest property per capita of crime rate recently? Can you he won't? It's just So I can't say enough Negatively about him. Yeah, the Pacific palisades to Victor. It's just Now he's and so he's going to go tax 25% on any group That rents the federal government. So other words Gavin you were supportive of a government for four years who deliberately broke like a southern confederate Member on the eve of the civil war who nullified federal law Made a mockery of it led in 10 million people into the United States You said nothing and then you had a president said this is shameful. We have to Support a law on the books. It's there. It's illegal to come in the United States So they's tried to do it and then they hire people with the thankless job to trace Where these 10 million people are including 500 and you want to punish those people most of those agents are middle class people Lower middle club many of the majority of them are minorities and you demonize them and you say that any company That rents a facility to ice will have a special 25% tax What do you you crazy you want those facilities are better than most government facilities as far as cleanliness and safety And you just want to showboat because you still think that people are stupid enough to nominate you for president. It's not going to happen Even the socialists know that you're complete phony. It's not going to happen And this idea that a company now has to prove that it had what anybody making over a hundred million jack has to prove they had no Connection with slavery You know what that's going to be. Oh, let me think now. Who did you talk to Gavin when you drafted that lawyer? Was it a San Francisco law firm? Maybe or an LA law firm that said governor We specialize in DEI and you know what? Guess what Donald Trump has made 200,000 of us unemployed. So here's a great idea You've got to write a bill saying that companies have to show that they have no Connection with slavery if and they will have to hire people like us or new DEI consulting and we'll do genealogical tables And we'll do old newspaper clipping for a price That's what he's doing Creating creating an industry here a victor on the other side of the country in Massachusetts. The last time we saw Governor more healy of mass of Massachusetts Very leftist a Democrat. She was Thrilled about the signing of an abortion law Interesting of all the happy people around her at that event not a single one and by the way was was a black woman But they were all so happy. Well anyway She announced that Massachusetts officials will now inspect the homes of newborns Maybe this is a continuing Desire to see which which one of these kids actually made it through without not getting having a abortion or his reaction to the Lindsey Clancy case, but the thought that government officials are going to come into my house because my wife just had a baby It's like they have some prerogative to do that a big big sister here is kind of Shocking and give it given DEI you can see what's going to happen if they go into Let's say some snooty brawman right wing person in Boston and they're saying knock knock. Oh Your plain brawms too loud or shopan there's a speaker in the baby's room That is really bad. We're going to find you and then they're going to go into a low-income minority thing where there's not enough food or something like that and they're going to say We can't this a society did this to you and that's what that's the subtext of that as well and It's again. It's the act of omission and coalmission. That's going to cost so much money to hire people to do that When Boston is over regulated and overtaxed already Can't they just look across the border? Can't they just people were the border and say here's Canada Size of California California is the worst run socialist state in America and Canada the same size with even more natural resources in terms of Oil that's been developed timber potash. You name it And it has a GDP lower than Mississippi or lowest state Can you see what they did? Why are you rushing to emulate them? Why are you doing that when we have a counter revolution right now trying to undo the extent that we're like Canada and the EU and we can already see the results 31 trillion dollar GDP Highest family income in history of any country that's not a tax haven or oil Haven Lois poverty rate of any country in the world that's and not those categories. Can't you see what's happening before your eyes these people would rather Be socialist and have people poor than well off and not be socialist. Yeah We I'm gonna count in the next episode. I'm gonna look up some figures on Mississippi. I think they've done Their school system is much better than California. Yeah. It's a Douglas Carswell who's a former member of parliament who came to America. He now runs one of the policy institutes there They've done some great things taxes and education So hey Victor. Let's end the show today with your thoughts on the interview Tucker Carlson had with Jacob Re-smog who's a member of parliament I don't know if he's still a member of parliament, but exceptionally smart Man articulate and of course Tucker got into World War II Hitler Hitler really didn't want to go to war with England He said it many times Carswell came back now carswell Re-smog came back with well he signed that That piece of paper with it gave it to Neville Chamberlain. So what Hitler said Most of the time was was a lie, but I think most people that watch These clips would been embarrassed for Tucker Carlson and his continued Desire to push this rewriting of World War II history and other Historical incidents in the funny century. I watched a lot of it It was painful to watch because I used to know Tucker and I liked him. I still like him, but Obviously something's happened to him But it was I don't know if they meant it to be that way, but what it was really saying Jack Was here is the American Aristocrat wealthy Privilege kid who grew up in conservatism And represents the right side of the right And here is the British Aristocrat Krat, very wealthy, who represents the right side. I don't mean right as correct, but a strong Brexit guy, you know, an ultra conservative, I'm sorry about the imprecise terminology. So he's an ultra conservative and so is Tucker. Reese Mog is the heir. I think his father was the editor of the Times and he inherited a state and his wife is very wealthy. So he's probably worth $150 million in dollars. Tucker is the heir to the Miller looks 19th century land at one time at almost a million acres in the 19th century. Everywhere I go around here, you can see old Miller luxe branches. On one side and then of course his, I think it was his stepmother, but I may be imprecise was the heir to the Swanson food fortune. And he went to prep school in Europe, I think, for a while. So they're very similar in background, but when they actually talked, Jacob Reese Mog was very careful. He cited evidence. He didn't try to interrupt. He didn't chuckle and look at the camera. It was very professional, very kind of cold and sober, factual, never lost his temper. And Tucker was highly emotional spewing out all sorts of misinformation that what 1200 people had eaten were killed in the war was 200. Just factually incorrect. And he had to be corrected by Reese Mog as far as the main issues of the debate. Once again, Tucker is completely wrong. He says that that Britain did not have to fight World War II A that if Hitler had been allowed to win and keep all of his ill-gotten gains from the Russian border all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, Britain would have been better off because after the fall of France in late June of that it could have taken it rather than demonizing Oswald, mostly in the other fascists. He knows nothing about contemporary reports of that deal. What Hitler was saying was, you white Tories, you aristocrats in Britain are a lot like us. That's not true, they weren't. And then he's saying, you can have your empire take a deep breath for a while. But you're never going to intervene in the continent. Now they were already going into Poland and rounding up Jews and killing them. They were already were doing a quote unquote assisted suicide with their own multiple sclerosis mentally retarded. They were already lining up dissidents and shooting them in mass. There was only one country in the world that stood between that entire every single major EU country today was either by June, July of 1940, either aligned with Hitler. Maybe we could stretch it to August, September with Greece falling in Yugoslavia. But aligned with Hitler as an ally, neutral, but pro-Hitler are occupied by Hitler. The whole EU, all of the NATO countries, there was only one little country, little Britain. And it's crumbling empire that it couldn't quite reach, which was under attack by Japan already before Pearl Harbor in the Dutch East ending and soon to be in Singapore. And soon in India and in Burma. And what did Britain do? It said we don't trust you. We've tried to make a deal with you Hitler. At Munich, you lied. You said that was the last territorial ambition you had and you annexed, you destroyed Czechoslovakia. And no sooner do we sign that then within a year you you invaded Poland. And you Poland who lost, who disappeared for years, who had its borders chewed up by Soviet Russia in 1939 with you. And then what Tucker didn't say is because he's a big fan of Putin, apparently, is that Britain was attacked, bombed by the help of the Soviet Union. From August 23rd of 1939 until June 22nd of 1941, there was no allies. The United States was not in the war. The Soviet Union was on the side of Germany day factor in the non-aggression, supplying 20% 30% of their food and fuel. Why they bombed, fire bombed, Coventry and began fire bombing, London, etc. It was only Britain. And Britain was the only country, he makes fun of it because he said we went to war when you were invaded. It's worse than that, Tucker. Britain was the only country of the six major belligerents, Soviet Union in the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Japan, who went to war for the principle of upholding its word to Poland that it would protect it if Hitler started a war against it. And it did. And it was the only country to fight on the first day of the war and the only country to fight on the last. It fought magnificently given its resources. Now he made finally a couple of other crazy. He said that Oswald Mosley was the opposition. Oswald Mosley never had any elected office. He was a fascist and he was pro-Hitler and they dressed up as a black shirt or brown shirt whatever you want to call him. He had 5,000. He tried to beat up people in the street. And he said that Hitler, we know now that if he took over the likely people who would have ruled Britain were him, Mosley, or maybe the Duke, the De Throne King, Edward, or maybe basically pro-Hitlers David Lloyd George, the Prime Minister during World War I was talking about coming back as an interim government. It was only Churchill who said no, do not trust these people. They say that we can have the empire and we can have our navy, but we'll never have our navy or empire because they'll have the entire continent, the entire world and it will be just like Munich again. They will say you can't do this, you can't do this, and then we will be completely humiliated as a moral country where they slaughter people as they are doing already and we don't say a word about it. And so, why did Hitler invade the Soviet Union? He said he was going to do it in mind comp, but one of the reasons he did it was because Britain would not give in. He tried everything. He couldn't invade them by sea, he couldn't bomb them in the submission, he couldn't beat them in North Africa. He did it because he thought he could take the Soviet Union. Think of that thinking. This huge Soviet Union will be easier to beat than little Britain. That's what he really believed, that in 10 or 11 days as General Halder said, "Well, after 11 days one could fairly say the word and rushes over." And that that was going to then bully Britain into surrender. And there wouldn't be a Jew in Europe today or in the United States probably because a lot of him came over here. Had he had Hitler won and Tucker knows that. And then he says, "Well, they wouldn't have had all these foreigners." And that didn't come, right? That didn't come in 1946 or 1947. Look at the population in 1950. When you had the rivers of blood speech, that was in the late the 60s. It came started in the 60s, but it was mostly the idea of Tony Blair. He was the one that really opened the floodgates. That was a postmodern. The empire was in big trouble financially after World War I. World War II didn't destroy it. They were going to have to give it up anyway. And they knew that, hastened it, FDR hastened it, but it was a dead letter anyway. And so almost everything he said in that interview was false. Once again, he has these little quips that are really. And then he starts chuckling and trying to make fun of this guy. He's mocks, but he really knew history. He was actually educated with the seconds in history at Oxford. And that used to be really hard to do. And so he knew his history and he didn't lose his temper and he quietly corrected him. And I don't know any fair-minded person that didn't think that severely damaged Tucker's reputation. He couldn't laugh his way or fudge facts out of that. And one of the subtexts is, again, if you listen to very carefully a subtext is the Jews, the Jews, the Jews. You never heard back from him. No, I haven't. I'm still waiting. He corrected the record. Yeah. He said that Victor Hanson thinks the dropping of the bomb on Hiroshima was glorious when I actually said it was a horrific act. But if anybody could come up with a better way of stopping a horrific invasion of Japan that would have cost America a million casualties, probably five to six million Japanese casualties and 15,000 dead every day we were fighting. the Japanese, the Japanese were killing in Asia in the Pacific, I'd be happy to hear it. And maybe they thought, well, we could have used the fire bomb rate, yes, we could have. And the greatest loss of life in a single day was not Hiroshima or Nagasaki. It was the March 9th or 10th bombing of Tokyo with Napalm. And we would have bombed and believed me. We were going to have, after World War II in Europe was over, we were going to have bombers transferred, we had new B-29s on order and Okinawa was going to be a deliverance of fiery death to all of Japan had that war continued. The fact that Japan did not immediately surrender after Tokyo, whose evidence that they were going to fight to the last time, they were very excited if that's the right word because they hadn't had a really good record with a first introduced in the Philippines campaign like Kamakazis. But Okinawa was only 900 miles away and the zero was a very light aircraft and it had a enormous, almost 2,000 miles of range. And it only had to go one way as a Kamakazis, it was like a cruise missile. So it didn't have to have the whole tube. So they sunk 30 something ships, didn't they? They hit 36 and they sunk 19 and they killed 5,000 sailors and they pulled off a lot of the major carrier groups they had to get out of there because there was nothing they could do with a zero, with 50 zeroes and other Japanese planes coming at 350 miles an hour, 2 feet above the water, under the radar and then at the same time Japanese zeroes diving from 30,000 feet right through fighter cover at full speed and they're not trying to shoot anybody down, they're not trying to bomb, they have one goal to crash, that's a lot easier to do than drop a bomb and hit the target. And they were brilliant cruise missiles and you couldn't stop them and they had 7 to 8,000 of them waiting on Japan, they could have destroyed most of the Pacific fleet. And I don't know why he doesn't see that or he does see it, but it's so easy to say, "Well, I'm so moral, I hate all new equipment and Victor Hansen thinks they're glorious, they're just prove it, prove it, prove it, prove it, prove it, prove it." Just give me a quote, just say, "Here it is Victor, you're a liar, here you said this, this was glorious. You will never do that. You will never apologize for all the facts that he got wrong in the case of Jacob Reece or Mogs, he won't." But he got corrected a lot, he could have got it corrected a lot more, but Mogs was too polite to just end up saying, "Rong, wrong, wrong, wrong." Yeah. Well, Victor, that will have to be the final word today other than the usual business and that is we're going to read some of the comments that people leave on YouTube and other platforms for this podcast. So I have four I want to read, Angela 3026 writes, "Protect Hansen at all costs, he's the light to this Canadian woman, he speaks the truth and gives me hope." I love Canadian, I just feel so sad that they've been, their country's been hijacked by a globalist whose first interest is not the welfare of Canadian. You know, Mr. Davos. Then Sura, Seraj Pers said, "I don't know if I got that right, Seraj Pers said, "I don't understand why this guy doesn't have 100 million subscribers, I think he should, service my own rights. I so much enjoy your personal stories, today's story about your dad and mom were fantastic. You." And finally, Steve Lucas writes, "The first segment, this is a show you did with the great Sammy Wink, perfectly describes Donald Trump. He is a tragic hero. Everyone knows Donald is not a politician in a suit. He is a deal maker in one, as you so eloquently point out. He is exactly who American needs as a president during these tumultuous times. The midterms are not about Trump, the Republicans or the Democrats, it is about keeping radical thinkers out of government offices. It is about stopping the corruption, sorrows and others, instigating, NGOs are bringing down our wonderful issue." You made a good point about Conrad on the Catholic issue, and you have made it before about he is also a revisionist about Nixon and trying to show people that when you look at opening up China or trying to have a missile treaty with Russia to eliminate the vast arsenal somewhat or Vietnamization, getting out of Vietnam and we were out until pretty much with a viable Vietnam until Watergate and they cut off air support. But he did a lot of very good things and Conrad has been very eloquent in reminding people about that. He is a Nixon revisionist as well. Nixon and Roosevelt, he wrote great biography, so both of them, you know, when Conrad was doing his time, I think improperly doing his time, it was like it was law fair, it was straight up law fair. He was writing columns for national review and I started to penpal with him and he was very gracious, some a few times subsequent in New York, but I think he is one of the best writers in the language, he is a tremendous historian and he is very talented and he was done a great injustice by our legal system. I will just finish, I watched Jack Smith and I think Jack Smith's in trouble. They got him to admit that not only did he go after 44 lawmakers and he couldn't even tell you exactly how he got permission to do that. It was not clear, he gave conflicting narratives, but he tapped their phone and text messages, but at least eight of them or eight people, he did what Obama did with James Rosen, they traced where they were moving their GPS information and he had no legal permission to do that and no legal cause to do that and I looked at him when he was there under oath, he looked like he is age, he looks like he is 65 years old, well I look 66, I look 85, but I can, as I always say, I am a cancer survivor now, for the time being, a victim of nature. Podcast Summary

Key Points:

  1. Victor Davis Hanson critiques Tucker Carlson’s false claims about World War II, arguing that Britain had no choice but to fight Hitler to defend its principles and sovereignty.
  2. Britain was bombed by the Soviet Union during the early war years, not just invaded by Germany, and stood alone as the only country to defend Poland’s sovereignty.
  3. Hanson emphasizes that Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union stemmed from his belief that he could defeat a larger empire quickly, not a desire for territorial expansion alone.
  4. The rise of radical left-wing policies in Europe, including anti-conservative education and immigration, is seen as unsustainable and destabilizing due to demographic decline and cultural fragmentation.
  5. A growing number of young people express support for Sharia law, indicating a concerning erosion of traditional values and historical understanding.
  6. The French school riots and political unrest reflect a broader crisis in Europe, driven by Muslim enclaves, low fertility, rising welfare costs, and political appeasement of minority groups.
  7. Hanson warns that globalist, technocratic systems are failing, leading to a surge in conservative movements across Europe and the U.S., such as in Germany, the UK, and California.
  8. He condemns the politicization of historical events and education, citing the Cornell rape case and governor-led policies as examples of moral and ethical failures in modern governance.

Summary:

He also details the deepening crisis in Europe, driven by high rates of immigration from Muslim-majority countries, cultural enclaves, and failed policies that prioritize social welfare over national strength. , where he points to the rise of radical ideologies, including support for Sharia law among youth, and the erosion of historical knowledge.

FAQs

Victor believes France is in crisis due to high immigration, low fertility rates, and a growing population of non-assimilating Muslim communities. He argues that left-wing policies have created political enclaves that promote anti-Western sentiment, leading to protests and social unrest, with France facing demographic decline and economic strain.

Victor sees the massive crowd of 800,000 people for Pope Leo’s visit as a sign of a growing public resistance to secularism. He believes this reflects a deep-rooted conservative sentiment in France, where traditional Catholics are passionate defenders of Western values, even if they remain a small minority.

Victor strongly criticizes Tucker Carlson for falsely claiming that Britain could have avoided war with Hitler if he had been allowed to expand. He points out that Britain did not negotiate with Hitler and that the Soviet Union bombed Britain, and that the invasion of the Soviet Union was a direct result of Hitler’s belief that he could defeat the USSR and force Britain to surrender.
