Let's start with some good news because Lebanon just had a big moment in motorsports. Lebanese driver Christopher Abdof Gully secured first place in the Euro Cup, three race at Circuit Paul Ricard in France. This win was not just about the race itself but what came with it. For the first time the Lebanese national anthem was played on the top step of an FIA accredited podium with the Lebanese flag raised during the celebration. It is one of those moments that people are calling a step closer to seeing a Lebanese driver make it to Formula One. And honestly it is the kind of achievement that gets people talking and feeling proud because it puts Lebanon on a global stage in a completely different way. Now shifting to a story that has been all over social media, Pamela Alcachie spoke out about her separation from her husband singer Rachid Fawani and this quickly became one of the most talked about topics online. And now to a more serious update that we cannot ignore, Lebanon's food crisis is deepening according to a new report. Nearly one in four people in the country are now facing food insecurity with around 1.24 million people affected. The latest IPC report shows a sharp rise in food insecurity driven by conflict, displacement, economic pressures and rising costs. What makes this more concerning is that it reverses previous improvements and pushes more families back into crisis. The report also highlights growing risks to agriculture and livelihoods which means the impact is not just immediate but long term as well. If we look at the numbers the situation has worsened compared to late 2025 when around 874,000 people were affected. Today the combination of conflict, displacement and rising costs continues to make food increasingly unaffordable for many families across the country. Officials are warning that urgent support is needed to prevent things from getting worse which really shows how critical the situation has become.
