Mr. Vance using the nationally televised address to make the Republican case for retaining control of Congress. The address also giving the Vice President and major national platform amid growing speculation about his own White House ambitions in 2028. Mr. Vance taking the stage one night after the President delivered a nearly two hour address repeatedly warning that Democrats would dismantle his agenda if they regain control of either chamber. The Vice President presenting Republicans as the party of common sense during a broader cultural contrast with the Democrat Party. - I'm here to tell you this is who the Democrats are now. My friends, they're not just the party of little higher taxes, maybe some dumb regulations. They're not the party of FDR or JFK health. They're not even the party of Bill Clinton anymore. The Democrats are the party of hatred. They're the party that despises America and the people who built it. They're the party that can find sympathy for the terrorists who perpetrated 9/11, but they say that people with names like James Vance are incapable of loving people with names like Usha and they couldn't be more wrong. Ladies and gentlemen, because the Democrats have become such a nightmare, we can never, we will never let them win. We're going to be in back in November. - Mr. Vance pointing to the administration's record during its first two years, arguing Republicans have delivered on the promises that returned President Trump to the White House. - Donald Trump's administration, it's not just the first government in the last 80 years to actually stop a border invasion. It's the first in the last 80 years to reverse the border invasion. Under Donald Trump's leadership, we've created 1 million new jobs. For my entire life, I saw corporations ship jobs overseas and be rewarded by Washington. Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime to crack down on people shipping our jobs overseas and fight for American businesses and American workers for a change. We've seen the largest drop of violent crime in the history of the United States of America because we've backed the police and throw the bad guys in prison. It's not rocket science. We did what generations of Democrat politicians promised but failed to do. We actually took on Big Pharma and lower drug costs for all of our citizens. - Mr. Vance taking aim at Democrat James halloriko in Texas as Republicans fight to protect a Senate seat that has become unexpectedly competitive. - In Texas, you have Democrats, grown men who seem to be pretty obsessed with trans children. I gotta say the president's very good at nicknames but hallofrico maybe tops the list. This halloriko guy, he will not shut up about how there are six genders. He will not shut up about how quote, "God is non-binary." I don't know what the hell that even means, my friends. He won't shut up about having traditional Christian values makes you a bigot. And I gotta say a guy that age who was so obsessed and focused on transgender children, I don't know about you, but I never wanna see that guy's web browser history. - President Trump then returning to the stage after dominating the opening night of the convention, delivering a shorter closing address to send Republicans into the final weeks of the midterm campaign. Joe Biden and the radical up Democrats created the worst inflation in American history. They gave us wide open borders with 25 million people pouring in from all over the globe. They turned our cities into scenes of death and misery, murder, poverty and destruction. We delivered the largest tax cuts in American history, the largest regulation cuts in American history, the largest investment in our military, in the history of our country, and made America the energy and military superpower of the world, with the superpower of the world. I built almost 2,000 miles of wall and created the strongest, most secure border that America has ever seen. And it was just announced, you saw that, that we achieved the lowest level of violent crime in 125 years since the year 1900. - The president closing the two-day convention with another warning about the consequences of Democrats taking power, urging his supporters to give Republicans two more years of unified control in Washington. - If the radical up Democrats and communists win this election, they're promising to confiscate your wealth, tax your social security, abolish no tax on tips, no tax on overtime. They're going to defund the police, giving voting rights and welfare to 25 million illegal aliens, destroy Texas oil and gas, thereby doubling and tripling your taxes, have men playing in women's sports, and set loose criminals to rob, rape and kill, like we had just two years ago. But if the Democrats get in, they'll destroy everything that we've built, they'll ruin our country. So on election day, November 3rd, you gotta do me a favor, you gotta get out and vote, and you're gonna pretend I'm on the ballot, because in a way I am on the ballot, because if they get in, they're gonna take away all of the things that we got, and we can't let that happen. - The Republican Party also remembering Charlie Kirk, exactly one year after he was assassinated while speaking to students at Utah Valley University. His absence unmistakable at a convention filled with the leaders, activists and young conservatives, whose movement he helped build. President Trump recognizing Charlie's widow, Erica, from the stage on Wednesday night, prompting thousands inside the arena to rise and chant Charlie's name, that outpouring continuing into the convention's final night as the party honored Charlie's life and legacy. Turning Point USA Faith Vice President Lucas Miles, addressing the crowd on behalf of the organization Charlie founded. - For some times, the silencing of one voice does not produce silence at all. It produces an echo. And if the voice was true enough and the conviction deep enough, the echo becomes a chorus. One year ago today, my friend Charlie Kirk was taken from us. And yet one year later, there was something wonderfully defiant about the fact that his voice has not grown quieter. It has multiplied. - That growing chorus already visible across Turning Point USA. Figures presented during the tribute showing the organization now operating more than 1,500 college chapters, an increase of 64% over the past year. It's Club America Network now spanning more than 3,500 high school chapters, growth of 192%. Miles then turning to what comes next for the movement. - As Christians, we know Charlie is home with the Lord. And we want to honor him by carrying forward what he did. I remember in the week after his death, one prominent tribute took special note that he died with a microphone in his hand. It's true that Charlie Kirk had a message to share with the world. a message undergirded by the gospel of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
And I can't help but wonder today, if Charlie were standing here tonight with that microphone still in his hand, what would he say to us? There's still young people to reach. There's still pastors to equip, still a generation searching for truth, still a culture desperately in need of the clarity, courage, and conviction of the gospel. The final word, belonging to Charlie himself. God will not honor our laziness. If we think being apathetic is going to save the country, it's about using your agency, using your ability to act. We have a choice. Choice A is a defeatist, negative attitude, that the bad guys want you to embrace. This fee is to thank God that you get to be alive and have breath, where the future of the greatest nation ever to exist hangs in the balance. Every conversation, every new voter you register, every time you get to work, you get to smile at your heavenly Father and say thank you for using me to try to save this country. [email protected]/mk. Andrew and Tristan Tate remaining behind bars in Miami after a federal judge denies their request for release while they fight extradition to the UK. The notorious social media influencers are arrested by US Marshals in July. After British authorities requested their extradition on a combined 59 criminal charges. The allegations involving seven women and including rape, assault, human trafficking for sexual exploitation and offenses involving indecent images of a child. The brothers denying every allegation against them. US magistrate judge Lauren Lewis, citing with prosecutors who argue that Tate's would pose both a danger to the public and a serious risk of fleeing the country if released. Prosecutors pointing to the brothers' extensive international travel and frequent boasts about their wealth, private jets, and access to multiple passports. The defense arguing those claims are theatrical exaggerations and tended to strengthen the Tate's online personas while offering to surrender their passports and submit to GPS monitoring and unannounced home inspections. Judge Lewis remaining unconvinced, writing that even if their purported fortune is exaggerated, the brothers possess a quote "exceptional capacities who flee the jurisdiction." The brothers' legal problems beginning in Romania in 2022 when they were arrested over their allegations including rape, human trafficking, and operating an organized criminal group. An initial indictment later sent back to prosecutors over evidentiary and procedural problems, leaving the Romanian case unresolved when authorities lifted the brothers' travel restrictions in February of 2025, allowing them to fly to Florida. Their legal exposure in Romania now growing. Prosecutors last week indicted Andrew Tate on charges including trafficking minors, sexual activity with a minor, money laundering, and witness intimidation while accusing Tristan of helping his brother carry out and conceal the alleged crimes. One accusation involving a girl Andrew allegedly recruited at age 15 and exploited through an online webcam operation, reportedly generating more than $1.2 million for the brothers. Both men denying those allegations as well. The UK now facing a September 16th deadline to submit its complete extradition case to the United States. No date yet set for the hearing that will determine whether the brothers can be sent to the UK, as the White House says the administration has no plans to intervene. A quarter century ago today, Americans walked into school and work expecting an ordinary Tuesday. Then the first plane hit the North Tower, smoke pouring into the sky as people turned on their TV sets, still not sure what they were seeing. A second plane hit the South Tower, erasing any hope the first had been an accident. Americans across the country, watching together as both towers came down, live on television, confronting the same terrible truth at once, that enemies abroad had turned commercial airplanes filled with innocent people into weapons against this country. The attacks killing 2977 innocent people, setting the country in a path toward the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq that followed. More than 7,000 American servicemembers ultimately giving their lives across the post-9/11 wars and related military operations as countless others returned home carrying wounds both visible and unseen. Memorial ceremonies taking place across the country today reminding us not only of what was done to us, but of how we responded when our differences seemed far smaller than what bound us together. Trump set to speak this morning at the Pentagon, where American Airlines Flight 77 struck the western side of the building at 937th that morning. The attack killing 184 victims, 59 passengers and crew members aboard the plane, and 125 military personnel and civilians working inside the Pentagon. A separate remembrance beginning near the wall of names at the Flight 93 National Memorial outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The names of the 40 passengers and crew members read aloud, followed by the ringing of the bells of remembrance in their honor. Passengers and crew members learning through phone calls that other planes had already struck the World Trade Center in the Pentagon, understanding that their own hijacking was part of the same coordinated attack. They made calls to the people they loved, they formed a plan, then they moved toward the cockpit. They're uprising forcing the terrorists to crash the plane into an empty Pennsylvania field at 1003, before it could reach Washington. The 9/11 Commission, concluding that their actions may have prevented the destruction of either the U.S. Capitol or the White House, and saved an untold number of lives on the ground. The wreckage leaving a scar in the Earth, but no additional grave in the nation's Capitol. At ground zero in Lower Manhattan, Vice President J.D. Vance representing the White House during the annual reading of the victim's names. Former presidents Joe Biden, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Bill Clinton also expected to attend, alongside New York City Mayor Zoraan Mamdani, a former mayor Rudy Giuliani. Family members taking turns reading the names of those murdered in New York, at the Pentagon and aboard Flight 93, as bells mark the moments when each plane struck and when each of the twin towers fell. This year for the first time, a 7th bell acknowledging that the death toll did not stop climbing when the fires went out. The World Trade Center Health Program, now recording more than 57,000 certifications for cancers linked to 9/11 exposure among responders and survivors who breathed the toxic dust that covered Lower Manhattan. The newly added bell expected to ring at approximately 12/30 this afternoon, followed by a 7th moment of silence honoring those who survived September 11th, only to lose their lives to its consequences years later.
