Hey, hey, Matt Hall here and once again I'd like to welcome you back to the Network Marketing Mastery Podcast. Today is episode 102 and the show notes for today's episode are at matmindset.com/102 and you're definitely going to want to check out today's show notes. I've got a couple cool videos and resources available for you on today's topic. So today we're talking about running viral giveaways to generate leads and a specific tool that I've been experimenting with that I am absolutely loving. Now before we get too deep into this topic, I do want to give a little disclaimer and also give an overall online blueprint for you guys. And I think I'm going to do another episode like this with this blueprint but go way more in depth in the next couple weeks because you know I've been creating a lot of content and a lot of people are seeing everything that I do online, the different social media platforms that I play on, the blog, a couple blogs that I have, a couple different tools that I use and I feel like it's important to just lay in lay a basic blueprint of what you should be doing when you approach building your business online. So I'm going to try to do that really quick for you guys now. When you're first starting out and as far as stepping your business into the virtual world, these are my recommendations. Very first, I recommend that you set up your personal brand website. It's very, very important to have a presence online, to have a website/blog that is your hub. And that's why in my members area, over at online network marketing mastery, that's the very first step that I have people do is set up their website, their blog, their hub. And even if you're not ready to make blogging for example, a really core strategy for you, it's incredibly valuable to have your website already created one so that you can use it later if you aren't ready to use it now, but also because it's going to become your hub and it's going to enable you to use a lot of the other tools that I talk about. So you cannot run a business, you should not in my opinion run a business today in 2017 and not have a website. And I'm not talking about your replicated website for your company does not count. You need a personally branded website either branded specifically to your name, whether that's you know, mathall.com or whether it's lose fat with mat and it's more like a loose fat with mat, that'd be a pretty cool website. That probably exists already. But if it's branded to a topic or a niche that relates to your company, that's okay as well if you are really, really passionate about that niche and that topic. So that's the first thing that you should be doing is setting that up. Step one, okay. Step two in this online blueprint is to start creating content on a platform. And I recommend that you start by picking one platform that's going to be your dominant platform. So if you naturally spend a lot of time on Facebook, maybe it should be Facebook. If you naturally love Instagram, maybe that should be Instagram. If you love doing videos and you love YouTube, well then hey, maybe it's YouTube, maybe it's blogging. If you love blogging, you love writing, maybe it is your blog and that's going to be your first primary channel, okay. So that's step one is to, or step one is to create your blog. Step two is to choose one specific channel and to start creating valuable content that's going to serve a specific niche, right, on one of those channels. So that could be doing Facebook lives. It could be posting on Instagram. It could be blogging, it could be doing YouTube videos, but you're serving a specific niche on one channel. And the reason I say one channel is while you're doing this, you're not stopping to do, you're not stopping everything that you're doing offline. You're not stopping your home events. You're not stopping the one on ones that you're doing. You're not stopping your prospecting or any of that stuff because the online stuff typically takes longer to get going. And it's, it's in my opinion, they should complement each other. It shouldn't be one or the other, you should do the two things together. So pick one channel, start producing content, start building a following. And during that stage, that's when I recommend that you start to do different experiments with ways of getting more followers with ways of using different tools, right. So the tool I'm going to talk about today is a viral giveaway tool that you could use on any platform. You could use it through your blogging, you could use it on Facebook or Instagram or you could connect it to any social media platform. So step three is to, once you have your channel and you're producing content, you're growing an audience, step three is to experiment with different ways of growing that audience and pulling in leads, right. Step four, after you're mastering that one channel, step four is to branch out into other channels and to repurpose your content. Okay, so that way you don't have to spend a ton of time creating a ton of content on a ton of platforms. You can take your Facebook Live video, for example, that you were originally just focusing on that medium and you can then take that Facebook Live. And if you want to, you can upload it to YouTube, you can strip it and cut it into clips that you put on Instagram or you can embed it on your blog and write a blog post. And that one Facebook Live becomes a piece of content that's out on several different channels. Maybe you even strip off the audio and turn it into a podcast, right. However you want to do it, start to repurpose your content. And obviously you could create unique content on every platform, but that's going to take you a lot of time. And most of you I know are building your business part time. You're doing it on the side in hopes that it can replace your income or maybe it's just a side hobby for you. So you don't need to be on every channel at all in the first place. And if you do want to be on every channel, I highly recommend that you repurpose your content. And that'll save you a ton of time. So that's kind of the general blueprint. Now, I'm going to give you a strategy today that will help you to grow your following on your social media channels or on your blog or even just through your email list. So the tool for today is a tool called Upviral, which is a viral giveaway tool. And there's going to be a link to this tool on the show notes for this episode. I am an affiliate, so I want to be transparent about that. This is a tool that we've been experimenting with and absolutely loving, okay. And I'm also going to do a tutorial, free tutorial over at online network marketing mastery.com. I'll do a training over there to show you in depth what our giveaway has looked like and the results that we've gotten and exactly how we're setting this up. But here on the podcast, I want to give you guys the framework and kind of explain what upviral is and what a viral giveaway is, okay. So chances are you've seen something like this out there, but you probably didn't understand exactly the logistics of how it was working behind the scenes. So a viral giveaway, if you have a system like Upviral and of all of the tools that I've researched and studied, I knew that I wanted to try and experiment with viral giveaway. And I went out and I researched a ton of different tools and this is the one that I landed on as me personally believing it's the best out there. And for my experience that you guys are going to see in the tutorial, it really, really works. So I'm very, very pleased. But essentially you can create viral giveaways or contests. So first I'm going to talk about contests because that's the one that I use. That's the version of this that I use have been using. And it's what I think, where I think the most potential is. I also think it's the easiest. So a contest is basically when you invite people to opt into a giveaway. So you're doing a giveaway just like we talked about in the last tool set episode. You're doing a giveaway on your social media accounts or on your blog and you're saying, "Hey, we're going to give away this free kit of product, right? You don't want it to be something that's just generic like an iPad or an iPhone or something like that. It's specific to your company and your company." It doesn't have to be your company's products, but I recommend you just make it your company's products if you can. And I'll share with you why as I kind of explain the process. So set up a giveaway. Maybe it's a small kit of products. Or maybe it's a big kit of products. Okay, I saw somebody recently do this with a $1,500 kit and they got a ton of leads by doing this. Okay. So we did it ourselves with a $500. I believe it was a $500 giveaway. So a pretty big investment, but it was totally, totally worth it. So you set up a giveaway and you use upviral to set up the giveaway. And essentially, you can do this even if you don't have a website yet because they have page builders in their software. So you build kind of a landing page that talks about the giveaway and people enter in their name and email to be entered into the drawing, right? But the cool thing is upviral, as soon as somebody enters in their information to be entered into the giveaway, upviral will send them to a thank you page and generate a unique URL for that person. Okay. And if that person shares that URL on social media, they can get additional entries into the drawing when their friends and enter the drawing. Okay? And this is why it's a viral giveaway. Because people are going to want to enter into your drawing multiple times. And they can get potentially an unlimited number of entries if they invite other people to enter the giveaway as well. So let's say you have weight loss products. Well, they're and they opt in to this giveaway to get some of your products for free. Well, they can then either just blast it out on social media, share it to their Facebook, share it to their blog or share it, you know, wherever they want to share it. And they can get you can set it up so that they get points for sharing it. But then you also set it up to where they get points when somebody actually enters the giveaway. So the way we did it is we gave them, I believe it was 10 extra entries into the giveaway into the drawing every time one of their friends also entered the giveaway. So we had people taking their unique URL and sending it in a private message on Facebook to people that they thought would specifically like our products. Okay? Look how cool this is. We're getting other people to do our marketing for us. Okay? So much more effective than then paying for ads, right? Is getting other people to market your product. Now we pay for ads as well. But this is a cool, a really cool tool, a really cool tactic. So they are then sharing it with their friends, getting their friends to join the giveaway as well so that they can get more entries. And it just kind of spreads and goes semi viral, if not totally viral. Okay? And I'm going to show you guys, I'm going to have in the show notes for this episode a video that shows you behind the scenes exactly how this process works. And it's a video created by Wilco, who's the creator of up viral. But the next step after you get people entering in the giveaway and sharing the giveaway with their friends so that they can get more entries, then obviously you're going to pick it winner. So you set the term, maybe it's two weeks or or 10 days or whatever it is for the giveaway. And at the end of that 10 days or actually let me back up. This is kind of a cool feature. Every single time one of their friends enters the giveaway, they also get an email telling them that they got more points. Okay? And that's fun because imagine getting an email saying, hey, you just got 10 more entries into the giveaway. Hey, you just got 10 more entries into the giveaway. Oftentimes they will then go out and share it more because they realize that they're getting a higher probability of them getting this price. Okay? So that's a pretty cool feature. But when it comes to the end of the time, you will then pick a winner. Okay? And the beautiful thing is you now have all of these leads that are interested in your specific product. Okay? Incredibly powerful. All of these people entered the giveaway. And this is why I think that the giveaway needs to be specific to your company or to your niche at least because then you're knowing you know that those people, all of those leads are interested in what you're offering. Right? So then what we did was after we did our giveaway, we then had a special offer for the first, I believe it was 48 hours, but you could make it 24 hours, 48 hours, whatever you want it to be. It was just an email that we sent out. Okay? That list that we had created through the giveaway. And we said, hey, anybody who who signs up with one of these kits and we had our company's kits and does it in the next, the next two days or whatever we said it as, we will give you this bonus of free product or it could be this discount. And if you can align this with a promotion that your company's already doing, even better, right? But that's the way you, that's the way you do it. And then you're going to get a percentage of those leads saying, okay, well, I didn't win the giveaway, but I'd love to still get a good deal and signing up in your business or signing up to purchase your products. So up viral is the viral giveaway tool that I'm recommending and I'm using. And it's a lot of fun. We've already done one test and I'm going to give you guys behind the scenes all the results for that test. And that's over in the members area of online network marketing mastery.com. Okay? So hope you guys enjoyed this episode. I hope this gets you thinking about some creative ways to build your business. This is the way that big companies like Dropbox, for example, exploded their growth so quickly. It's because they gave away extra storage for every single person that different users referred to the company. So by doing giveaways like this or by doing contests, you can generate huge numbers of leads fairly quickly in a viral way without spending a ton of money and have them be specifically interested in your product. So if you want to check it out, go to matmindset.com/102. I'll have my affiliate link there for up viral. If you want to give it a go and see how see if you can get the same results, it's definitely definitely something we're going to be experimenting with a lot more partly just because it's a ton of fun. And it's fun to see how excited people get as they get more entries into the giveaway. And then obviously the winner is ecstatic when they win. And so yeah, just a fun way to get your message out there and pull in leads that are specifically interested in what you have to offer. Hope you guys enjoyed this episode and check out the tool at matmindset.com/102 and have a fantastic day. Bye bye.
