ULTIMATE Fantasy Football Draft Q&A: Last-Minute Rankings, Sleepers & Strategy (Ep. 2172)
64m 30s
Derek Brown and Seth Woolcock provide real-time fantasy football draft advice ahead of a major redraft season. Derek updates his rankings based on recent developments, including the absence of Josh Jacobs on the commissioner’s exempt list and concerns about Mecca Buka’s toe injury, maintaining Puka Nacua as a top-tier pick. He recommends Chase and Christian Watson as top wide receiver targets due to offensive instability in Atlanta and reduced quarterback upside. Derek stresses the importance of strategic depth and flexibility, advising players to prioritize elite tight ends or quarterbacks in premium formats like 10-team leagues, where value and matchup dynamics matter more than initial rankings. He also cautions against overreacting to preseason performance and highlights the value of tools like the Fantasy Pros Draft Assistant for real-time adjustments. Questions from fans cover everything from trade strategies, roster depth, and player health to format-specific advice (e.g., 8-man PPR, linear drafts). Derek remains focused on balanced, data-driven decisions, emphasizing that strong teams often come from smart risk management and adaptability. The discussion underscores the evolving nature of fantasy football drafting, where player health, offensive trends, and real-time analytics converge to shape final picks. Fans are encouraged to engage with the Fantasy Pros community, subscribe to Twitch, and use the draft assistant for expert recommendations.

All right, and welcome into Fantasy Pros live on Twitch.
We are on the precipice of the biggest fantasy football draft weekend of the year.
That's right, redraft season is officially in full swing,
so we're firing up another Q&A coming your way right here on twitch.tv slash fantasypros
to answer your burning questions.
Ahead of draft day, I'm your host, Seth Woolcock,
making the final adjustments to the ranks
before I head back to the hometown for our annual live draft.
And back with me is a man who's pretty much called the fantasy pros expert platform
his home for the better part of the past three months,
adjusting the ranks every single day with every news drop and nugget.
He's downtown Derek Brown.
D-Bro, great to be back with you on this beautiful Thursday afternoon, man.
And do you foreshadow any final adjustments to your draft rankings
or are you already on to week one?
I am straddling the difference between two.
I have just for everybody a peek behind the curtain.
The primer for week one is halfway done.
I will be continuing to work on that.
That will be out shooting for Tuesday of next week.
But with all of that, yeah, like I haven't gotten to week one rankings
and sprucing those up yet.
I'm going to wait until I get through the entirety of the primer to get those out there.
So still in the draft streets, I am making some tweaks to the rankings.
Four drafts, like moved up Saquon Barkley a couple of different spots
because of how I'm feeling.
Moved Mecca Buka down a few spots based off of a little bit of worries about the toes.
So I'm kind of tweaking it a little bit here, Seth.
Yeah, there's always that line between fine tuning and over tweaking, right?
And I think we're trying to find that right now.
And I feel like it's been one of those draft seasons, Derek,
especially with the Josh Jacobs news hitting us earlier this week
that we really have to continue to adjust, right?
Yep.
Like even a week ago, rankings are out of date.
We, of course, had Erickson and Welsh.
They did their final rankings episode that is out there on the YouTube channels
for wide receivers and running backs right now.
And I think we'll have tight ends and quarterbacks coming out later today.
So some more rankings information analysis over there at youtube.com slash fantasy pros.
And folks, go ahead, drop your questions here below for Derek and myself.
Be sure to get to them as many as we can over the next 50 to 60 or so minutes.
And also while you're at it, make sure you follow and subscribe right here on Twitch.
Dot TV slash fancy pros.
You don't miss any of our live interactive content coming your way this season.
You can also check out again, the face pros YouTube channel and the podcast.
You'd be some full offerings of episodes and great short form content,
getting you ready for draft day.
Derek, any final drafts for you?
Any places you're on the clock right now?
Or have you pretty much wrapped those up?
I've got two drafts going on right now.
Both of them are the slow draft variety.
Hoping to get through those both of those before week one.
One is.
With a good friend of the show, Scott Barrett, who's doing a Scott bear bowl.
It's basically around efficiency metrics and things of that nature.
Right now, we're in a it's a 12 team or we're in a round three of it.
And there is no clock.
And I already told Scott, I'm like, bro, I could be drafted in this freaking league.
And like week two, knowing all of us.
Oh, got to love it.
Absolutely.
Got to love it.
And Derek, also got to love the fancy pros community hanging out with us.
Today, we got W Collins, who was locked in low, just resubbed with prime for a five month streak.
Thank you so much for that.
We appreciate that.
W Collins and also Billy Wang checking in saying we are so back.
We absolutely are, Billy.
And we also have Dreezy checking in saying, hey, hey, good to see you, Dreezy.
Thanks so much for tuning in with us today on this beautiful Thursday.
Derek, what do you say we go ahead and dive into some questions here?
Let's get to it, man.
Let's get to it.
All right.
First one is W Collins saying, what's up, boys?
Football is finally back.
Should I be worried about Puka at the fifth pick?
And if so, would there be another person to target?
Derek, how have you been adjusting your rankings for Puka, if anything?
Because I'm sitting at the fourth slot in my home league draft.
I think he's going to be available.
And I'm probably clicking the button unless there's anything that drops over the next 48 to 72 hours about him.
I haven't changed anything about Puka.
Like, I think the fact of like, I think it was Schefter or Rappaport tweeted whenever.
This is either right before or right after the Josh Jacobs news came out about the commissioner's exempt list.
Uh, stating that like at this time, no other players are getting put on that.
I kind of feel like it look a few different things here.
If, if the NFL is willing to put Josh Jacobs on that list without us, any of us seeing the video,
they know that this is way worse than anything that's been reported to the flip side of that.
Puka is not on that list.
So you got to believe that the NFL is doing their investigation and they're doing their homework on stuff.
And what they've found was not significant enough, or at least from a PR perspective,
knowing the NFL, not saying it's right or wrong, saying like how it is with the NFL from a PR perspective,
that it's not damning enough to sit here and crush Puka or what have you.
So I'm not expecting Puka to miss time.
I'm not expecting him to go on the exempt list.
I'm also not expecting him to miss week one.
Puka remains and has been my third overall player.
Okay.
I'm right there with you.
Absolutely agreed.
Van Rod checking in.
Great to see you, Van Rod.
Thanks so much for hanging out with us each and every time we're live here on the Twitch.
Also, Money Station.
What's good, fellas?
What's up, Money Station?
Good to see you as well.
And Derek, here's a question coming in from Shad.
16-team league, 15 rounds.
Pick 102 with Chase or JSN, full PPR, or is it a given for Bijan?
So if you're at the 102, Derek, would you consider going with a wide receiver here,
or would you just slug it out with a Bijan or Gibbs if they fall?
I'm fine with Chase.
I'm also fine with Bijan.
I will say, after watching how bad Tua has played for most of the preseason,
I have cooled on Bijan a little bit.
He was my RB1.
I've moved Gibbs to the top spot now.
So for me, I don't want to be too overreactive to recency with preseason and stuff like that.
Yeah, yeah.
If Chase is your wide receiver one, though, I'd honestly go Chase.
I am worried about Tua and this offense and the quarterback play probably dragging some of it down.
Now, have I moved Bijan Robinson?
Out of RB2 spot?
No.
But again, when we're splitting hairs at the very tip top of drafts here,
it's noteworthy that the quarterback play in Atlanta could be really, really bad.
We could see Tua make starts.
We could see Michael Penix make starts.
Hell, I think we even see Jack Strand get on the field this year.
So we shall see.
But yes, I will go Chase here.
Okay, going Chase there.
And Derek, a little love bomb from you here coming.
Someone just said, I love you, Debra.
I'm looking for it now.
I lost it.
Must it?
Must it?
It disappeared.
Oh, there we go.
We got James.
Diehard Giants fan saying, Debra, look at that.
Wow.
Some love for Debra.
All these streams.
It's not always love.
So it's nice to hear it and see it sometimes.
Dreezy checking in.
Should I start shopping James Cook and Lamar Jackson because of their ages in a 10-man Superflex Dynasty League?
I'm not a contender, and I am in a rebuild.
So I think this is probably the time where maybe you could start shopping them, specifically Lamar, getting a little bit over the hill there.
Yeah, I mean, I think this.
This all comes down to, like, what is your return going to be for either one of these guys?
So if you're able to get, like, a really, really good return on James Cook and Lamar Jackson on a rebuild, yeah, I'm not against that.
I think, like, one of those guys, or at least if we're going to tier it who I'm shopping first, it's Lamar Jackson.
Yeah, and looking like a pretty thin team otherwise, Stroud, Darnold.
So at least you do have at least, you know, two quarterbacks, but running backs, Gainwell, Randall, Singleton, Aaron Jones.
Yeah, this feels like if you can start shopping to get.
Those 2027 first Dreezy might not be a bad deal to make.
Also, we got Worth Lake checking in.
Is that somewhere around you?
I know you're from the Dallas Fort Worth area is worth.
OK, OK.
Is it cool?
Good vibes out there?
Yeah, it's good, man.
There's a bunch of little lakes around here.
Not not a lot for fishing purposes around here.
But as far as like wreck on the waterways and stuff, good places to go canoeing and kayaking in the DFW area.
Yeah, definitely.
OK.
Worth Lake asking for some advice, not on where to go fishing, but fantasy football in particular here.
Advice for round five and six RB and wide receiver options.
Monty Irving, Tootin Price, Jamo Watson, Parker, Adunze.
Debro, if I'm at this point in my draft, like I'm assuming a lot of that, you know, second flight of running backs has gone.
I am really targeting Jamo pretty hard in this tier.
Also, Parker.
And then if I was going running back personally, I'm taking shots.
At price here, Jonathan Brooks is kind of on my radar, too.
Do you see it any differently?
The three standouts for me in this tier are David Montgomery, Parker Washington and Christian Watson.
I'd say that the guy behind all those others is probably Jadarian Price.
I'm getting more worried.
I have to just be honest.
I'm getting more worried about like the backfield mess that it could be the Jacksonville Jaguars this year.
So I'm cool on facial Tootin a good bit.
Same thing with like Rome is fine.
We're fine where they go, you know, but I, my
My standout guys are Monty, Christian Watson, and Parker Washington.
Okay.
Here's Nick also checking in saying,
thoughts on keeping Bijan round one and Bird in round nine,
passed on keeping Walker or Ibuka round five.
I don't know if I would be passing on Walker in round five.
I think I'd be.
I would take Walker and Ibuka.
Yeah, yeah.
Because Bijan, you're probably going to get in round one
if you have access to him.
If not, if you're like in the back half of round one,
then maybe you can keep Bijan.
But I think if this is the potential for like,
I'm definitely keeping Walker round five,
probably over Bird in no matter what.
I'm keeping Walker and Ibuka.
Like I understand the toe issue,
but again, if it's a keeper league, like.
Oh, Walker is actually round two.
Oh, got it.
Oh, then fine.
Then it's Bijan round one.
And I honestly would probably still go.
Yeah, Bird in at round nine.
That's not bad.
I mean,
the toe issue for a Mecca Ibuka does scare me, man.
Not going to lie.
Okay.
Okay.

Let's see those spam the chat.
Let's show some love.
Let's show some love here for,
for Debro.
I'm not all there.
We got the old man still in there somewhere.
I know.
I know.
I think the red,
the red guardian Debro is probably the best one out there.
I would say absolutely hilarious.
And my wife and kiddos were out last week and actually got this while they
were out.
Oh,
nice.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Nice.
Let's go.
Let's go.
We're spamming them here.
We got the broth from wealth emotes.
We got all the other custom emotes coming here from,
from van rod,
spanning,
spanning,
spamming all of them.
I got the OG Seth.
You got the,
the DJ baby.
I think the football there.
Yeah.
They're going to learn with the crown.
There we go.
Um,
it need a Seth movie.
Watch long stream.
Hey,
you talk,
you talk them into it.
I'll,
I'll be here for it.
Uh,
we were just making,
making jokes before here and another pop culture reference went over my
head.
So he did know who Isaac Hayes is.
Just let everybody know,
Seth,
you didn't know who I knew the player he played in on.
South park though.
Once you said chef,
like I was,
you know,
I understood that.
That's yeah.
I mean,
thank you.
Thank you.
Boo.
This man.
Yeah.
Uh,
we,
we got Bilbo checking in as well as saying dart B,
John Javante,
a lobby flowers,
Goddard,
ETN,
JMO,
Travion,
Henderson price,
Wandale,
Jordan Mason,
12 team,
any moves I should make.
Wow.
Oh my goodness.
I,
Derek,
I,
I absolutely love this team.
I,
I mean,
I think I'm staying pretty packed,
dude.
I don't think there's anything you need to do this.
I don't,
if it's a 12 team league and for him to get Bijan and Javante at running
backs and still not be deficient and wide receiver like this,
this is brilliant.
So the only thing I will say with it,
as deep as your team is at running back,
like having Javante Bijan,
uh,
HN and Mason price and price,
take Travion and take Dallas Goddard and you go knock on the door of the
Colston Loveland team.
Do that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Do that.
Yep.
I like that.
I like that as well.
Good call.
Good call out there.
Um,
also,
uh,
Bilbo just subbed for one month.
Again,
guys,
you can use a Amazon prime account with prime gaming to subscribe for free
or the full,
the full screen name.
I don't know why you're,
you're not doing that.
That's weird.
Growth,
Derek growth,
Derek.
That is what it is.
Yes.
Yes.
I,
yeah,
I'm growing up right before your very eyes and right before the fans.
It is.
It is.
We got a false end three,
three,
four Oh eight checking in and saying,
what's up boys.
Look,
my draft did not go as planned as how it goes.
Sometimes saying I had the 10 pick in a 12 man full PPR.
I got CMC.
Okay.
Chase Brown,
AJ Brown,
a Buka Zay,
but my tight end position I'm struggling with.
Yeah.
I currently have Joanne Johnson.
Should I look to trade for a wide receiver for a top eight tight end?
I also have Mark Andrews on my roster,
but the analyzer helped me projected low for playoffs because I don't have a
top tight end.
Derek,
I think the fact you're able to go CMC and then chase Brown and still
somehow end up with AJ Brown and a Buka and Zay at Y like for me,
I think like go out and just add another speculative tight end.
Maybe like a Terrence Ferguson.
He's starting to rise up my ranks a little bit based on some of the
reports we're hearing out of Los Angeles.
And just,
I think the ever dying love I've been hearing from Fitz and,
and Erickson kind of rubbing off on me.
Any other,
maybe late tight ends or undrafted tight ends that you would go for here
for full set?
I mean,
no,
because I like this team.
As it's built.
Like I,
yeah,
this is a really freaking good team.
Full send.
Like you got CMC and chase Brown leading the running back room.
You're you're three deep and very strong at wide receiver.
Who cares if you're going to match up based on tight ends?
You can't draft all of the studs.
Like you got to make concessions somewhere.
And so quarterback and tight end,
if you're going to make concessions in certain spots,
that's where you do it.
No,
this is a good team.
Stay,
stay back.
Okay.
Okay.
And he's got Parker Washington.
Yeah.
This team is really good.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
You're all right.
Yep.
Especially because after week one,
one of these tight ends are going to pop off on the waivers and you
might be one of the few teams who need one who can address that after
week.
Number one,
there's Santa Cruz cardboard with the new follow as well.
Santa Cruz.
Happy Thursday here from Reapers saying I'm rolling with golf and a
Monro on a half point PPR.
How are you feeling about the lion's offense this year?
Eric,
they play indoors in 12 of 17 games.
They have an actual offensive coordinator this year.
I'm all in on the lions.
I think it's going to be one of the most friendly offenses for fancy for
gamblers as well,
especially because they,
one of the lowest projected strength schedules out there.
Yep.
And to open the season,
both of their starting safeties are not back and we don't know when
they're going to be back.
So yes,
I've already gone out and bet the bet the over for the total for the
lions and saints game.
Uh, for week one,
everybody should go do that.
And what is that total at?
It was 48 and a half.
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
Yeah.
I don't mind that at all.
Yeah.
So yeah,
I think that's a,
that's a good bet.
So taking the over there and yeah,
like I feel great.
We were just talking about a worm Fitz and I just recorded our key
questions episode,
uh,
leading up to week one.
And we were talking about Jared golf is a wonderful value in,
in fantasy drafts,
like stylistically how they score their fantasy points.
Tell me Seth,
what is the difference between Joe burrow,
Dak Prescott and Jared golf?
What is it?
None of them run.
There's absolutely happy offense.
There's nothing passing touchdowns.
There's not,
there's nothing.
Yep.
So I think I have a golf right now.
QB 13.
I continue to move him upward,
dude.
Just because like,
it feels,
it feels like he is a great value 13 as well,
sir.
Okay.
Yeah.
I started like,
I started having him like back behind Stafford in my homes,
but then I moved him above those guys and I feel really good about it.
Honestly.
So Jared golf,
definitely one of my favorite quarterback sleeper.
So reapers you're,
you're right in line here with Derek and myself.
And here's Pat fan checking in saying what's up handcuff question.
Should I handcuff chase Brown and drop Emmett Johnson or Jonah Coleman?
Oh no.
And,
and,
and my running back room is chase Hampton Brooks,
Al's year Keaton Mitchell and the rookies for me,
for me,
Derek,
like I don't think there's a true handcuff for chase Brown,
right?
So it's like,
I don't necessarily,
I'm definitely not dropping Jonah Coleman.
One of the hottest rookies out there,
that I have right outside my top 36 and Emmett Johnson who continues to move
up ECR as well.
Why would you drop chase or chop a drop?
One of those guys when chase Brown is fully healthy and he's in a
contract year and Kenneth Walker already has swelling to his foot.
And Andy Reed is out there saying like,
Oh,
it's cleats.
And I'm like,
that doesn't happen just because you put on different cleats.
It's not like your ankle and your foot just magically swell.
So yeah,
I'm not buying that.
I'm not buying that.
I'm not buying that.
I'm not buying that.

plus and pro plans i still think it could be vidal over keaton mitchell i don't know until i'm proven
otherwise that's how i feel but i think i think i want to drop somebody that could have a standalone
role to pick up samaj p no no i don't i don't know um here's one from de boys uh saying brothers
got
the two pick in a super flex keeping drake may in the fourth round way to go there should i go
lamar assuming alan gets taken at the one or should i wait for a quarterback and draft gibbs or bijan
great strategy question derrick what do you think gibbs take gibbs gibbs do that take gibbs and if
gibbs gets drafted one-on-one you take josh allen and you enjoy life yep yep yeah i mean i agree
with that because the way that i'll look at it is like i i've been very adamant i don't want to
i just want to keep investing in jaylen hertz at cost over lamar uh when he could come back to you
here in the second round or jackson dart like one of those two guys i'd be really keen on yeah so
wait on malik willis no no yeah absolutely take gibbs yep van rod checking in saying one of my
leagues this year is a six point touchdown pp six am i reading that right sick oh 16 ppr league
okay the only quarterback i drafted was dart should i stick with him or drop him
for one of stafford nicks mahomes purdy or goff i i have dart as a top five guy i realize it might
not be sustainable all year but i'm gonna rock and roll with the rushing upside would you drop
him for any of these these quarterbacks because because you're going like like in that small league
all you don't care about the floor or whatever you don't care about all that you care about the
ceiling and the absolute outcome so it's like i would leave all those guys on the waiver wire
and if you were going to drop dart for anybody it's you're picking up malik willis for the same
like you want rushing upside you want top three top five upside anybody that's giving you
production of qb7 to qb12 considering all these freaking names van rod that are on the waiver
wire you can fill that type of production any damn week yeah so no yes before we keep it moving
to some more questions i just wanted to remind everyone that take a few minutes ahead of your
draft and make sure you check out the draft assistant the fancy pros draft assistant
provides expert recommendations for every pick real-time alerts and predictions for which players
will make it back to you get the ultimate cheat code for your fancy pros draft at fancypros.com
slash assistant or on the fancy pros app derrick this has been such a game changer for me the last
couple of years especially while i'm out there you know hemming and hawing and carrying on at
my live draft having the assistant up has really leveled me up and i love the fact that i can sort
rankings out by hey if i want to pick andrew erickson's ecr rankings and combine those with
derrick's and pat's or if i don't want your guys's rankings and i want to upload my own
rankings i can do that as well so there's a lot of different tools over there with the fancy pros
draft assistant you can have it just in your your pop-up window um for your platform of choice or
you can just draft right from there in the fancy pros draft assistant so a lot of great ways to
get invested i felt like d bro a couple years ago when i first started using this in my draft i was
like protecting myself so no one else could see what i was doing now i know this year because
i've talked about the assistant so much and i've used it and shown my friends it's gonna be like
the spider-man meme where we're all just having fancy pros draft assistant right now i'm like
that means everybody's drafting a bunch of good teams and it's going to be a competitive league
all for it it will be yes absolutely um here's random thought checking in 10 team full point ppr
two flex pick seven uh in an upgrade trade caleb cmc k-dub three cd zay waddle mclaurin likely
benches evans parker dowdle jane reed jcm stripling and tank bigsby so you have to pick seven to start
derek um or would there also be any trades you maybe be looking to uh oh he had the seventh pick
in the draft is what he wanted to oh okay okay okay okay that part that part was throwing me
off random um punctuation people punctuation it helps being punctual is good um looking at this
team i think like the the easy spot to say to to upgrade would be likely um yeah take
uh one of a ton of receivers so much like evans and isaiah likely and go knock on the door colston
loveland or brock bowers uh team um yeah you can tyler warren would that not be enough too much
yeah but i wouldn't be offering evan like i would say likely and maybe like a stripling or you know
somebody like that i would downgrade it a little bit um i love the pairing of mike evans and john
um it's almost kind of like you're handcuffing the upside of a wide receiver so i really really
like that but outside of the tight end stuff like you could upgrade from caleb but i kind of feel
like if you're going to do the up the quarterback upgrade part unless the other team that's that's
one of those kind of moves that you see how the offense is kind of sift out and like a move you
make not right now but like at week five or week six and see like is there a team in this league
that starts off oh and four and they're like my starting line
up sucks but i have a really good quarterback so you can go do a two-for-one trade and upgrade that
way a quarterback kind of like the long con type of method that sounds like a catch me if you can
type of thing oh you do know some movies that's that's really nice that yeah i know i know yeah
i actually showed the wife catch me if you can a couple couple months ago and she enjoyed it i fell
asleep during it but it was good i've already watched like full full like three times so don't
give me that look like i i i was wanting to show her the movie so you started off so promising at
the beginning of that sentence and then it just my issue is i unless like i pace around my living
room a lot when watching sports because if not if i sit down for too long wait out like a light
so do you pace around when you watch movies um i feel like it's good for me to get up every maybe
10 minutes and do something like even if it's just like petting the cat or i i do have a tendency to
fall asleep a little bit yeah i do i'm getting old man you are getting old geez i'm not even that old
i know you need to get like like like a fidget cube or something like that so you can hold it in your
hand and keep your mind busy while you're watching the movie yes you're welcome and then you're i'll
just wait to to get the congratulatory text from your wife saying you're welcome to so my best
friend he he i don't know if he has adhd or what but he just flips his phone like this every every
time he's sitting anywhere he just and he's broke so many phones by just flipping his phone like
that but it's it's you know buy a phone case i hear they help he has a yeah he has a phone guy
he needs a he needs another guy who needs a fidget spinner i think too for sure um full send should i
offer stripling and juwan johnson for la porta it's too much it's too much i don't think i'm
doing that i don't think i'm doing that but you need if you're offering that you need it pits i
would need pits probably it's higher than that like you need to get a top three guy like i i
think strip oh dude if the upside hits with stripling you're gonna hate that you made that
so it's a good point yeah that's fair better call bob 10 man full ppr once you get in that
mid-tier wide receiver range uh and you're looking at jamo parker washington mike evans christian
watson tate who are you taking there guys derek you've talked about this to your law i know
probably it's parker washington and watson for you with a bullet yep those two guys easy that
where do you where you have jamo by curious in your rankings because jamo i do have above all
consensus on him i i've jamo right now wide receiver 21 and i i could i could honestly flirt
with 20 i want to say i'm i'm at consensus i'm pulling up real-time adp right now like i want
to say i'm basically at consensus with him um let me see real-time adp jameson williams is at
wide receiver 26 i'm a little bit lower than i do him as a wide receiver 3 but i'm at wide
receiver 30 i could just see the problem with jamo for me is i could see both runouts i could
see where he is a consistent wide receiver 2 his role changes and all that kind of stuff
the thing that people aren't talking about with jamo is we are putting faith and hope for drew
petzing to dial up a good route tree for jamo when we saw him struggle in arizona to do the
same damn thing for marvin harrison junior yep so it's like uh do we really got that much faith
so that's that's my problem with jamo versus christian watson versus
parker washington where i'm like those guys are the clear wide receiver ones and their offenses
jamo even at his best will not be the wide receiver one alliance very fair yeah um bam bam
branson checking in saying cheers boys uh just checking in to let everyone know chris sims is
a hater and jalen hurts we'll finish quarterback one sims is a boo but he's an idiot he's a moron
rankings anything he puts out is all gaslighting clickbait bs if you want to be better at football
and get smarter don't follow anything chris sims says i don't care sometimes you just need the
clicks man sometimes you just gotta you know
don't just need the other thing that's really that's quite true is do good work provide try
to provide the best analysis you can and people also find your work hi chris sims try it it just
take it for a test drive one of these days maybe maybe and we got miranda miranda jane checking in
saying how do we feel about marshawn lloyd this season as the presumptive lead back in green bay
derrick where have you gone to lloyd in your rankings i'm at rb 28 and i still feel maybe
i'm a little low but i think that's just the potential that maybe jacobs does come back i
know you've been a lloyd truther really since day one the guys had you know just unfortunate injury
issues his entire career is this the year that he's back healthy and where are you comfortable
drafting him right now among the running back position marshawn lloyd season is loading people
he's i'm i'm here for it man absolutely here for it and this isn't just
me leaning on priors he's got talent he's the clear rb1 i think there's a reality where
as soon as this josh jacobs video drops if it drops the packers might legit just cut him
and if that happens you're gonna be glad that you drafted marshawn lloyd like again with the
emergence of jonathan brooks and marshawn lloyd and this is a take i haven't heard many people
workshop or even talk about seth doesn't the the emergence of marshawn lloyd and jonathan brooks
make going zero rb a little bit easier in the year 2026 dude i just had this conversation last
night with my best friend the phone flipper nobody's having this conversation though yeah
yes because now i feel like in the fourth fifth sixth seventh round that dead zone doesn't feel
so dead now right my man and and yes i was using the fancy pros mock draft simulator a couple days
ago and i just started running four wide receivers in a row to see what was happening i was getting
tett mcmillan in the fourth round and i was like if i can take tett here and just figure out running
back the next and then like still again address it late go after the jonah coleman's of the world
with upside go get a jcm go get a tyler algier these types of running backs who could potentially
be starters for their team i think it's a great point derrick and you're right i don't think the
conversation is being put out there because now it feels like it has been very get your running
backs early type of thing this draft season i think now maybe you should be zigging while others
are not and i think it's going to be very exciting to see what happens in the second half of the
season yeah i think it's going to be very exciting to see what happens in the second half of the
sal please i was thinking is it oh i bring myself right back in don't worry about it sal trying to
try to remove me from the stream i can't get you out of the stream thank you sal is jesse's man
boo this man is jesse spano not the guy from uh full house no saved saved by the bell and she had
she had a caffeine oh oh yeah she did have the caffeine yes yes i'm so sorry i i knew i should
know saved by the bell jesse was kind of the one character that kind of just you know she kind of
fate i do remember that episode though she was like just like bombing caffeine pills and you
know maybe some other substances and zach had to talk her down off the off the cliff a little bit
yeah i remember that one that was very tough you know i mean like i remember that being such a big
thing with saved by the bell it was like this like really deep episode and it's like she's addicted
to caffeine pills oh like like she was at her like starting lines like to study for tests like
ridiculousness man god it's crazy gotta love it i gotta love it i i apologize to jesse i i you know
i was more of a kimberly kimberly guy myself but you know appreciate that uh here's bossing up 83
i have three tight ends should i drop jawan johnson or ronde gadsden i have sam laporta
what do you think here derrick i think you're muted as well derrick good lord i'm having all
kinds of tech issues my freaking airpods decided to die i've had like five shows in a row right now
so i just switched live on on show but um anyway uh i would drop ronde i i think he's gonna be
tight in three in that rotation man like i i have no hope i think really charlie kohler is gonna be
there starting tight end and lead the chargers and routes and targets at the tight end position
no hope for og yeah i i started moving him down pretty hard in my rankings he is below both of
these players and i would say maybe a month ago i was a pro ronde but i i do agree i do think he's
moving down but yeah if you need to drop someone i mean don't just drop for dropping if there's
another player out there go get him but i don't love holding on i would drop a ronde for anything
ham sandwich it's fine what about like a salami sandwich cheese salami is good
we were playing disc golf last night me and my me my pal he shows up he has a sandwich
that he got from the the camp store at the lake and uh just takes the cheese right off and he's
just eating meat on it on bread i was like it's terrible i doesn't like cheese off doesn't like
cheese we discussed this before but i i just want to make this known again my son has some kind of
issue with cheese and he hates cheese and i don't understand this but apparently this is a thing
because i've talked to a lot of different people i cannot square for the life of me how you have
issues with cheese but people that have problems with cheese will still eat pizza it has cheese on
it
yeah my son eats it and he's like it's not the same thing dad i was like it's exactly the same
thing it's the same thing there's cheese on the pizza and you're eating it but you hate cheese
i i can't i can't make any sense out of this it doesn't make any sense what about gabagool
coming in from w i've actually never had i haven't had that legit gabagool yeah i would like to yeah
i would like to tcb relentless saying my son has a huge thing about textures with certain food
it is yeah
i respect that i understand that like i'm a texture person myself like
crunchy things like that all good things that are more like soft or slimy or overcooked like
i've got a big thing where like overcooked noodles
oh i do yeah i yes i yes can't do it can't live with it can't nope yep yep guys we're gonna get
to more of your questions here and not just talk about cheese and food and noodles but we're gonna
talk about cheese and food and noodles and we're gonna talk about cheese and food and noodles and

fantasypros.com slash chat all right james asking full ppr jsn or puka at four overall i'm puka still
easy easy puka all right uh girl dad loves fantasy football pick on half ppr
harrison jr coker or wandale robinson i mean i am marvin harrison in in that scenario but i do
like coker and wandale you're you're that far you're that far down on on harrison team coca baby
coke heads unite wow wow which where do you have to believe in more jacoby brissett bryce young
oh that's a real question that's like picking between two devils on my shoulder man none of
them are going to a good path yeah i know but the question remains seth who you picking you didn't
say you sidestepped it jacoby brissett or or it has to be i'll even throw in i'll give you carson
back well i was gonna say sp jacoby brissett slash carson back because we know we're seeing
back you get jacoby brissett carson back or bryce young where you going based on how he played at
the end of last season i will take bryce young and but that's probably a hot take it's a coke head
it's okay cool got it just like jesse spano huh yeah apparently oh no oh no oh no
caffeine pills man bam bam branson uh also just shipped out scataboo and lloyd for a top half 2027
first and second have plenty of death and could pat pass up couldn't pass up that offer uh wow yeah i i don't
i don't hate that at all do you no i like that totally down with it yeah yeah i mean you're
getting you know if you got depth yeah i mean i like both those players this year well knowing
that it's a top top end pick to definitely make yeah versus like you know late first yeah i feel
like it's good but it's not great so yeah doc stew's checking in what's up doc saying 10 team
half point ppr but tight ends uh one point ppr one quarterback two running backs three
wide receiver one tight end two flex i have the number two pick this weekend with my drafts
strategy change and possibly pick tight ends early given the rules with tight ends so okay
so it's a little bit of a premium for tight ends that being said though derek i think you're still
going one one of those running backs at one or it's a chaser puka type of pick and then maybe
you bump those other you know elite tight ends that you consider them on the turn what i think
is you use this format to your advantage doc and you go with the running back and you garner some
running back some wide receivers and if everybody kind of this is also kind of reading the room when
you get to premium formats and stuff like that especially in a 10 teamer like can i make this
depends on where they go can i make you a reason of like or a conversation of how colston loveland
is the best pick on the board here absolutely but it depends on where he goes if people overreach
on tight ends because of the format and you get brock bowers going like back into round one top
end around two and then it starts the tight end run and everybody's like oh mcdonald's
bride is a second round pick loveland's a second round pick then no you're not following the title
wave but if like those guys kind of go and then everybody's like oh i need to catch up on running
back and wide receiver then does tyler warren become the best value at tight end on the board
possibly so some of this doc like you just need to like again this is a perfect and this is not
just me blowing smoke and reading things bringing up tools and stuff for fantasy pros just to do it
but this is a great reason of why you use draft intel
because if this league has been around for a few years you can see those trends you can see where
these guys go you can expect or at least try to expect how this draft kind of falls and how you're
going to play the board so am i going to chase tight ends at the board in a premium format like
this no if they fall or i get a value guy fall to me absolutely in a vacuum i am more comfortable
making a bet on a guy later in this type of format that could
absolutely just crush like a guy where you swing on the upside of isaiah likely a dalton kinkade if
he gets the damn routes a george kittle if he bounces back those are more likely my draft
targets in this type of format but again it goes down to reading the room and could you get one of
those guys at a good value possibly yeah all right let's do some rapid fire to get out of here on in
the last 13 or so minutes derrick fat salad one of my favorite types of salads like it is out here
pittsburgh we got the french fry
you got you know the eggs everything good on it out here all the dressing and bacon
fat salad saying how are we feeling about a draft strategy for an eight man ppr league but it's three
wide receiver two running back two flex a quarterback and a tight end i haven't seen
many good articles on these types of small leagues with wider player pools derrick it's a great
question because usually we say okay if you're condensing it to eight teams i am more inclined
to go out and get an elite tight end or an elite quarterback that said though does it change anything
adding a third wide receiver and a second flex no because no you're still only have eight
teams so the depth and players that are all to you later it still makes like you still need to
be winning from the onesie positions so still like i'm not telling you to go draft josh allen and
brock bowers on the same damn team yeah but again the guys that could be or are in that elite tier
that are values compared to these onesie positions are jalen hertz and colston loveland so i would
prioritize them and yes it's still the onesie positions because again everybody in this league
is going to be fielding a total like lineup and roster of all-stars it's are my all-stars better
than your all-stars also we got grand grandel rocks asking here did a 14 team ppr drafting
eighth overall grade this team derrick on a let's do a one through ten scale jsn walker davonta
smith waddle two in fanning purdy white qj algier only three bench spots so can make some moves
during buys
i like the start of this a lot derrick i do like the first five to six picks where i where i can't
give it an a is the fact that he went purdy and fanning six to seven seven sounds early for purdy
even in a 14 team league so for that i would give it a b plus i give it a b plus two and you could
be kind of like i mean you're piecing together rb2 here so yeah you know outside of like i
wouldn't have gone fanning around six or purdy around seven i would have tried to like you know
hammer another wide receiver or running back in one of those spots um but
again it's a b plus i think it's still a really good team reapers half team ppr is golf chase brown
javante williams quorum tank bigsby jonathan brooks amon raw garrett wilson christian watson
godwin casey sepsi on qj mcbride tight end is this a good team any moves i should look at
wow i very good team yeah i i mean right now i i wouldn't be making any moves i would just let it
like get a few weeks into the season and see how the team shifts out for you like i like this team
i don't think like there's any there's no spots where i'm like oh you need to upgrade at so derrick
how high is too high for parker washington are you willing to push this into the fourth round
or is it still like fifth round it's pretty much as early as i would go that's kind of where he's
been shaking out in a lot of the ecr and adp is like mid to late fifth early six round pick
is that where you're comfortable taking them or would you push this further
you are at the back end of the fourth round i i could make you a really good case to take in
there it just depends on what the board looks like versus him and some of the running backs like
if we're already into the basial toot and tear of like split backfields and we don't know what
to do with these low-end rb2s versus parker washington i've drafted parker washington
okay um our hand asking uh do you think a quarterback earlier do you pick a quarterback
earlier if passing touchdowns are worth six points and passing completion
are worth 0.5 and incompletions are worth minus 0.5 no you can still get jordan love you could
still get brock purdy you could still get you staffer you could still get jared golf
any one of those guys are amazing dac prescott all of those at value no how are you feeling
about k9 in the 201 is that still right in line with you derrick or is that getting a little bit
too rich given the foot swelling happening out there in kansas city just because of that one
kind of like offhand report
i'm not moving a kenneth walker down if anybody wants to i totally understand it but right now
he still is my 13th overall player thoughts on manung guy reducing swift's production billy
wayne's ask i mean he's gonna be hurt beginning the year so i don't think it's like he's gonna
take a bigger role than he had last year yeah just still the lead back like a unquestionable
yeah uh full send should i drop tyler algier trey tucker or rashad white for jonah coleman
malik willis or kenyon black
uh i have cmc and was thinking about taking greg dulcich due to my poor tight end situation
and his upside is crazy maybe but we are going for the chip boys i would drop trey tucker for
jonah coleman for sure and i would drop i would drop tyler algier for malik willis i would drop
both those guys for oh i'm not dropping algier no i'm not doing that because you believe in in
the jacoby brissette carson beckled offense what happens if he could be a starting running back in
week one i'm not letting even and i love malik willis i mean i got i'm the highest in ecr on
malik willis but like i would just find a different way to get malik willis on my roster without
dropping algier i algier just kind of seems like a where are you at on algier where i got him ranked
36 overall where you have nearly that high he's the bottom what for why are you buying in so heavy
to the cardinals offense you think you are with i just think i just think he could start a couple
games in like a starting
we're and and tyler algier's always like kind of a fringe worthy flex kind of guy you know
spot rb2 type of player so no i i've got i've got tyler algier at rb49 there's so many other
running back okay i'm willing to like i mean stop me when i'm wrong here let's go from rb36
blake horn mike washington the washington commanders guys rj harvey erin i'll take him
over wash mike washington i i have no words for you next question
i have no words for you okay i don't even know what to tell you right now seth start josh allen
or williams um i have texans defense or should i go get another defense i mean you're starting
josh allen if you have those things can be true josh allen can have a great day and so can the
texans defense like they can get a pick six for a touchdown and get a few sacks and josh allen
could still go superman so yeah start yeah it sounds like you're working against yourself but
you're not yeah uh first of them first of them um yeah we're gonna go with that um 14 team ppr
any way to take bowers in round no i i you know i can't do the deeper leagues deep prioritize
quarterback and tight end you have to sacrifice somewhere in 14 and 16 teamers
devalue quarterback and tight end and thank me later metal james should i pick up bill for a
bench spot
line issues worry me but they're still working or but they're working saying he's working on his
pass catching spears and pollard i mean pollard needs to be picked up first i would say but
picked up you're dropping you're dropping two people to pick those up metal james definitely
enrico afternoon bros 10 team a half point ppr super league please grade my draft let's do one
through 10 again let's go a through b i think we did that last time uh qb may murray willis
running backs brown kyron williams brooks gainwell coleman
wide receiver sun god ajb devante adams evans tight end kincaid yeah this uh this is an a team
like this yeah like a 93 94 yeah i mean this this this would grade high with my rankings if you did
this on the fantasy pros very very uh draft assistant yeah absolutely uh whips hey pros
half point ppr kelsey or uh terence ferguson is bench spot i do kelsey okay he's a top 12
tight end dude and if he scores touchdowns he's gonna be top five yeah
six this year like i'm not at the best what is terence ferguson the third option in that passing
attack like a fringe yeah fringe tight end one maybe the t-ferg hype man if that's the case we
have way we have lost the sauce just saying uh calm tragedies asking trade thoughts i offer jt
kt or jt tucker craft dj moore forgives me is he insane for saying no he mentioned he thinks
barkley and neighbors was a better offer he received for the first time in a while i'm not
from someone i mean i'm not giving up that i'm not giving that's a lot for gibbs i'm sorry like
that yeah it's just depleting your team i can't do that yeah so so no that he yeah he is crazy
for thinking that was a bad thing i would say yes but i mean also barkley and neighbors for
gibbs is a really good deal too so this guy's just yeah he's just got gibbs like basically
he's untouchable like you're not getting gibbs from that team so and that's fine tcb tcb asking
eight team league and i have six running backs hampton hall swift scataboo bucky and etn
who would you package for an upgrade bucky and scataboo and if if one of those guys is not
palatable for whoever then just exchange what i would do tcb you go to a team and you say all
right you can have two of swift scataboo and bucky who you giving me at the top of the board
pick pick your two people like choices they do tastingly uh asking 16 man full ppr he's got
breese hall walker mccaffrey rodriguez flowers waddle mcconkey downs friar muth joan johnson
tongas raiders and colts defense what do you think about this team i think you should not be
rostering two defenses and i do not think you should be rostering three tight ends especially
two of them on the stealer so i mean i would drop friar muth tongas but you know also like
your defensive choices are questionable i would say derrick drop the raiders drop uh
pat for our mood drop tongas and pick up wide receivers and running backs
like up teners pick up bryce lance pick up running back handcuffs yeah drop those three i don't hate
the rest of your team the rest of your team i mean yeah quarterbacks uh outside of willis like
brissette's kind of suspect as a qb2 i would honestly like okay so let's play the board here
seth if uh you're dropping all three of those players considering your quarterback room i would
pick up shidra sanders um yeah yeah i think you'll be starting week three i think they put
starter to fail in week one week two and when they get back home it's gonna be sure to start
so love that billy 10 team ppr trade or upgrade hurt swift lloyd olave jackson smith and jigba
goddard
dowdle for the flex steelers defense aubrey at kicker um i mean i would maybe want a better
i mean looks okay i'm okay okay yeah yeah like i understand he went wide receiver wide receiver
yeah i'm only kind of curious like what does the rest of your bench look like if can you
pair somebody to upgrade from dowdle if that's the case then i would do that yeah okay uh pietro
asking hey guys i'm having a 15 player linear ppr draft soon what strategies would you recommend
linear oh man i i don't i don't know why we're playing in i mean that's crazy i mean i i mean
my strategy would be find a new league i'm not playing in a linear league that's great that's
crazy talk i get it i mean i understand it but um you do no no no like i understand staying in a
league that you've been in for forever like despite that being the case but that's a crazy
i'm not saying it's good i'm definitely not saying it's good but i've never even heard of
that for a redraft that's insane i always hear snake drafts but with this um this goes back to
like what i was talking about a second ago in larger leagues like 14 16 teamers like this
deprioritize quarterback and tight end wait wait on both of those positions you gotta sacrifice
somewhere do a quarterback and tight end yeah uh colin's just saying finally have my draft on
saturday thanks boys for all your wisdom and knowledge wish me luck good luck w colin thank
you so much for supporting us he's been in the live chats here literally since i think the season
ended and of course there's a huge supporter last year so thank you colin for always uh making our
day a little bit brighter and speaking making our day brighter van rod checking in would you guys
drop sutton or addison for lloyd yes i would um i run yeah my running backs cook brown scataboo
irving wider sears flowers burden uh sutton addison i mean caleb douglas or
yeah yeah caleb douglas absolutely no no yeah van rod are you a miami dolphins fan or something
that you would consider dropping those guys before he's gotta be i don't know uh drew drew saying how
much of the target share is burden going to take away from rome i mean not i think it's gonna be
like a 22 i'm gonna say probably like a 20 22 percent target share is that where you're kind
of like it's gonna be a consolidated passing attack it's literally those three guys and then
what the hell else so like yeah let's just parse it out here seth rome gets a 23 percent target
share burdens at the same colston lovelands at anywhere from 23 to 25 those three guys make up
legit like close to 75 of the targets for the chicago offense i'm projecting it yeah um here
is sharif saying i'm in a 10-man league and i have the third pick should i switch to the eighth pick
um i don't really love picking from the eighth this year personally derrick i think there's a
break after like the top six so i'm good at staying in a 10 team or stay top three in a 10
team or stay top three yeah go get that stud at the top best draft strategy for a 10 12 team
standard league with really competitive players fancy pros draft assistant that's one of the big
ones i should say and i would yeah are you more more incentivized to draft running backs early
in this as well at 12 because i feel like running backs are going to fly off in a standard league
it just depends on where you're drafting and what the board looks like but yes in the at this
in this year running backs are going to go early and often especially in a standard league
you probably get more of a discount on somebody like a derrick henry than maybe you should
yeah um yeah in this type of format so
last question here derrick from cordal uh what round is best pick a quarterback same question
for defense as well if i cannot even pick a defense and just have an extra player going
into week one like i prefer that and like quarterback i'm late round pretty much all
day unless dart falls like dart's been following me in like the 10th and i've been taking him there
and i've been taking hertz maybe if he falls in the sixth or seventh i consider him there
any disagreement from your approach i think i would take hertz in the sixth round if he's there
outside of that it'd be taking dak prescott
of like the seventh or eighth round if he's there if not i'm waiting and i will legit just build i
just did this in one of our fantasy pros leagues i'll just build a room of two of these three
quarter two of these quarterbacks build a two-man quarterback room with jared golf baker mayfield
tyler shuck only quillis log out yeah yep love it derrick great stuff for you man uh any big plans
for you last weekend without professional football back in our lives man week one of the college
kicking off the night little georgia tech uh colorado i would love to say that i do but
honestly this last weekend before football action i'm going to be finishing i'm going to be working
