Two Huge Trades, Seven-Snap Saquon, Power Ranking What’s Aged the Worst This Season, and the Debut of Stupid Court
1h 29m 26s
The episode power-ranks the NFL elements that have aged the worst this season, highlighting major missteps in team strategy, fantasy drafting, and coaching decisions. The Seahawks’ acquisition of Quentin Nelson stands out as a well-justified, long-term investment to bolster their run game, echoing past successful trades like those involving Leonard Williams. In contrast, the Chargers’ offensive collapse under Mike McDaniel is a glaring example of poor execution and inexperience, leading to a high interception rate and a complete failure to meet preseason expectations. The Eagles’ fantasy drafts are criticized for overvaluing players like Stakewore and Jalen Hertz, which have since underperformed due to injuries and poor offensive cohesion. The Vikings’ trade of JJ McCarthy for a fifth-round pick is seen as a costly and ill-advised move, given McCarthy’s contract and the inflated value of lower-round picks. Overhyped players like Zayf Flowers and the 2027 quarterback class are also scrutinized, with analysis showing that early hype often fails to align with on-field performance. Finally, Tramock, Brian’s underrated impact as an aggressive, high-demand receiver is highlighted, showing that volume and mental toughness can outweigh statistical trends. Overall, the episode underscores how overconfidence in projections—whether in trades, player performance, or team dynamics—can lead to significant missteps in the NFL season.
I'm today's episode of The Ring of Fantasy Football Show. We power-rank all the things that have aged the worst. This NFL season spoiler alert, the charges are going to be in there. Also, the Seahawks traded for Quentin Nelson, Dika, you can barely contain yourself. I love it. I love everything about it. Had more fun than you did when the series won the Super Bowl, maybe. This is my Super Bowl. Craig, most importantly, the debut of Stupid Court. The debut of Stupid Court, and it's pretty stupid. All that and more after the break. This episode is presented by Verizon. Welcome to Bring Your Fantasy Football Show, my name is Danny Hartz, and I'm joined by Danny Kelly, Craig Corolla. But today it is power hour, where every power, we know, every power Wednesday. Every Wednesday we power rank something. But today we are power ranking. The things that have aged the worst this season, because there are so many things that have aged like Bill, right Danny Kelly, turns out we don't get everything right. Most stuff, yes, but not everything, not our fault though. You know, we should have been right, but it's not our fault. We were bullied into thinking these things, it's not our fault. Want to hit a couple things before power though, starting with Monday night football. So the Cowboys beat the Eagles, and it took a little longer than it probably should have to really put the game away, but they did. We have to start with the fantasy football chaos on Monday night that was Craig. You were ahead of the curve, seven yards, say, one struck again. That's right. Seven snaps, say, one. Sorry, seven snaps, say, one. Seven snaps, say, one played nine snaps in this game, and yet he had nine touches, nine touches on nine snaps, and he turned that into 71 yards and a touchdown. This was one of the weirder fantasy games, I think, in recent memory, because I went into this game down six, and I had say, one, Barclay, and he gets that first carry, and you're like, "I think it was the second carry, it was that 29-yard run," and you're like, "Holy shit." Yeah. This is awesome. And then at the end of the run, before he even finished the run, Trey Ackman's like, "Uh-oh. Something happened there." And he's right. Everyone saw it. He kind of seizes up a little bit. He's like jumping up and down on the sideline, and you're like, "This is the most classic." I mean, the note going into this game was, say, one, Barclay is, quote, "going to give it a go," which is a fucking death now, a little bit. Disassistic. So, the last thing you want to hear, you should never play that way, he clearly re-aggravated his hamstring. Then we find out later that he also aggravated his back, which is overcompetiting for the hamstring. But it was this bizarre game where, say, one would come in like once every five or ten minutes, run the ball for eight yards, then go out, limping, jumping up and down, trying to stay warm. There's a guy elbowing his massaging his thigh on the sideline. Just like on the ground. I honestly don't think I've. I mean, you have to give it, say, one is an absolute stud, in the fact that he fought through this game. I mean, his touchdown run, he was galloping like a horse because he only had one leg, and he was like avoiding one leg, and he still out ran the linebacker, but I don't think I. You said it's like. Usually it's like the guy goes out, he re-aggravated the ham, he's out for the game. I've never seen a guy just kind of every ten minutes just come back in for a snack. That is cool. Picking shoes, the spots he could come back in, it felt such a crazy mix of just like. It was so desperate. Dude, kind of sad. She had a hand at him for ten minutes, and then he would go in for a play, tweak it, come back out, fair, I got it again. It was wild. It's like when you like have. You ever like try to charge your phone at a bar, and you're like not really supposed to be even charging your phone at all, and you're like, "Let me just get your phone up to like eight percent," and then it immediately drops down to three, and you're like, "Ah, I don't know. Get back." I feel like I've been one of the few people on Earth who's been willing to be like, "Maybe the Eagles didn't commit malpractice with Jalen Hurtz, and why is everyone rushing to just blame them for almost killing the guy? Maybe they didn't do anything wrong." And then I'm watching this game, and I'm like, "So they're just letting Sikwan come in and out." Wow. I feel like I had no one. No one was checking in on him. It was just like, "Yeah, you can do whatever you want, man." So odd. I had this funny batch up where someone out of desperation, one of those worst teams in a league, how did desperation play Damian Pearson? The only way I could lose was they needed like 16 points from Damian Pearson this game. And obviously, Sikwan gets hurt immediately, and then Damian Pierce goes down on the final drive, and he gets hurt too. But the whole game. It was just bizarre. I mean, Eagles ended up being put out of their misery, the cop was 138 to 21. But yeah, if you have Sikwan, this was just. It was a real kick in the nuts. Well, I mean, he also had. He played fine. He played fine. It was the best fantasy week of the year for him. He had 14 points. And he played nine snaps. It was crazy. Seven. You were ahead of the curve with seven snaps, Sikwan. And now he might do it again. He's like hamstring. It's all right. My back. That won't be an issue. And now I don't know if Eagles are going to do, because as we. Trades are starting, we'll get into the Quentin Nelson thing soon. But like. Yeah. The Eagles have two more games until the trade deadline. The Eagles also have a buy in week 10, which is the week of the trade deadline. And so you wonder, you know, I mean, they should probably just sit, "Sikwan, we get nine regardless of if they were planning on trading him," just because he's clearly not healthy. But that comes into question more now about like, how much is he going to force himself out under the field? Well, let's just get into the trade stuff. So DK, I don't know if you're fully torqued. I mean, you're sitting right now. I wouldn't stand up just in case. I don't know what's going on down there, but. It's the plates. It's the plates. How torqued to you? It's the pedals. You see Hawk's traded for Quentin Nelson. Oh, my God. Love that. I love this guard in the NFL. Well, because the last couple of weeks, a lot of people talking Seattle's, we need to trade for Jonathan Taylor. There's all Colts, Colts, Colts. The Seahawks have this close connection with Ed Dodds, who is the, I think, the acting GM in Indianapolis right now. He was formerly part of John Schneider's team or whatever. And so. Ed Dodds, who's Pat McAfee criticized his outfit on game day. Pat McAfee who takes a shirt off on every television show is like, "I think that guy dressed isn't really unprofessional." He needs to dress up or something, okay. I was really rude of Pat McAfee. You can't criticize people like that. You know, they're feelings. True. I totally agree. Anyway, so the thought, the whole time was like Seahawks needed to trade for Jonathan Taylor and said it was kind of like a bait and switch. They actually traded for the offensive lineman, which I think theoretically actually makes a little bit more sense, right? They solidify their offensive line. He helps, Quentin Nelson helps out both in past protection and in the run game. He's the right. This is something the Seahawks have done a few times over the years where they trade for 29, 30, 31 year old, 32 year old type guys that are kind of a little bit past their prime or whatever, but then they kind of end up just playing for a long time for the Seahawks. They did this with Joanne Brown back, you know, like 10 years ago. They did this with Leonard Williams, to Heifetz's sugar in. He's now. He was underrated player in the NFL. Yeah. Leonard Williams has actually signed two extensions with the Seahawks now. And he's like a, he's a major, you know, foundational piece for the. The giants were supposed to be like thrilled with getting the 60th pick for Leonard Williams like five years ago. Obviously, there's ways in which this can go wrong, Quentin Nelson could get hurt. He could sign elsewhere after his contract is up after the season, but I think the plan here would be the Seahawks keep him long-term, signed him to a long-term contract decision. And they got him for a third round pick this year and a fifth round pick next year, which doesn't feel like very much at all. I got to say, my first reaction to this was I was like, "Man, this thing is pretty easy. Why is this so easy?" Yes. My first reaction was, "Why didn't every other team try to do this exact trade?" You know what I mean? You have to report that there are other teams were interested, including Philadelphia, which I thought was fascinating. I don't think Philadelphia is actually involved. They're just like, "Who's calling?" And it's always how he rose, man. How he's just like, "He just read Ariem Angles' book." And he's like, "Roll the call!" He's like, "Roll the call!" He's just talking on the phone all day long. He's just calling. But I'm like, "Man, a third and a fifth for the best guard in the NFL," who's still kind of in his prime. And he just ships right off to Seattle. Well, wow. Okay. Pretty easy. I mean, it's. The real answer of why is team control? But Cam Jurgens goes to the Eagles. sorry, the Eagles trade Cam Jurgens a way to the Ravens for a second-rounder. And Cam Jurgens is not as good. Why would that happen? It's just team control. It's Cam Jurgens again. I think he's a free agent. And age. March of 2030. And he deals two-thirds of what Tyler Linderbaum's deal was with the Raiders. And so that's going to go. So he's locked in at center at a cost control for years. Quentin Nelson's a free agent this year. So the Colter trying to flip a player who's going to be up at a free agency this year. Right. And it'll probably command a lot of money. It's a certain amount of confidence, I think, for an office to spend a pick on a guard. Yeah. But anyways, I love this trade for the Seahawks. They are due to have, like, up to five comp picks, this upcoming draft because of some of the free agents that they lost in the last free agent period. Plus, they lost one of their executives to be the GM of the Vikings, I believe, Nolan Tinsley. Yeah. It's a, to me, a no-brainer. He's one of the best guards in the NFL. He's still playing at a very high level based on all the grading that you see. He can help stabilize the Seahawks offensive line, give them a boost in the run game. And this is, like, a massive need for them. I think this is something the Seahawks kind of just saw the writing on the wall. if they're going to contend again for a second.
Super Bowl this year. They have to be better at running the football. They're, they're very, very high frequency early down running team like one of the highest on early down runs. And they're also one of the worst on early down runs through the first. You can't be one dimensional with Sam Donald. Yeah. A hundred percent. So they, they, I think that there was a little bit of desperation here, but I think it was not, they didn't overpay clearly. This is to me a great deal for the Seahawks. If you look at, if you use the rule of what are the other teams fans doing, I see a lot of Colts fans, you know, freaking out on Twitter and things like that. Like this wasn't enough for one of our core players. We wanted him to, you know, retire a Colt and all this stuff. I think people are very, very sad to see him go. So yeah. It's hard if you're an offensive lineman to have that kind of reaction. But after Jonathan Taylor, he's like the second most popular player on the team. And he's, he is the, I think I saw this. He's made the second most provost of any player in Colts history behind Peyton Manning. I mean, Quint Nelson, he's probably going to be a Hall of Famer. It's an offensive lineman. And part of that's just he's such a big prospect. He was good immediately. And so they're, you know, I thought that people are necessarily deep into the left guard tape all the time, but he also has been that good. And again, to your point, it's about the running game. It's the lost Ken Walker. And again, last year in DVOA, which again, it's just kind of context efficiency. Last year in rushing, they were 15th over the course of the whole season. So average as a Russian team. And then this year, the Seahawks ranked 29th in DVOA in rushing, which is one spot above the New Orleans Saints, who last week did not have a running back run, no one rushed for more yards than Aaron Rodgers, like all their running backs are more carries than yards last week in France. So I think the Seahawks could really use this. And again, it's the kind of thing rams in the like Sean McVan Kyle Shan, and they're probably freaking out about this. Well, I'll speak into that. The 49ers just made a trade. They did really? They just traded for DeForest Buckner, gave up a 2027 fourth round pick. This is, I mean, this was something that people had connected the two of these, these, the player and the team for a long time. As you said, all the good players just end up in the end. I swear to God, I literally had that written down as a prediction that would happen later this week. I mean, I think a lot of people made that connection. So DeForest Buckner was drafted by the Niners. He was great. He was on that first run of he's one of the, he's an amazing player. Best 49. His defensive tackle. He was elite. He was essential to that first Super Bowl run with the first time they lost to the Chiefs, and he was part of that young Corps. He's like George Kiddles, age, Fred Warner, all these guys that were really young in that one. Now they're older. I would argue that. And so they tried to do what a lot of teams do where they get rid of a veteran and replace him with a younger player and rookie contract. Sometimes that's the Vikings getting rid of Stefan Diggs, and you get Justin Jefferson. It works out great. And sometimes it's the Niners where they lost DeForest Buckner, tried to replace him with Javon Kinlaw. I would argue the Niners might have one, two more Super Bowls. If they had kept DeForest Buckner, like he's that fucking good. And so now it's kind of a reunion of that, like, core from the beginning and like they need him on the defensive line. I was wondering if they were going to package Josh Downs with DeForest Buckner and send both the San Francisco because honestly, the Niners are probably the team that most eats Josh Downs too. And I feel like he'll probably get traded as well, because he's also in a contract year. Right. Yeah. It's Buckner. I mean, it was obviously Nelson Buckner Downs and Jonathan Taylor. But it sounds like they want to keep Jonathan Taylor, which to me, if you're traded away, Quentin Nelson. Why would you keep Jonathan Taylor? Well, you might as well keep going. There's two reasons. The simplest is if you're the owner who's on the ticket. Right. But if you trade Josh Downs in a contract year, you got to get rid of it. You got to get signed for him. Quentin Nelson's in a contract year if you're not going to retain him. Who are fans going to see for the second half? Like if you're taking Daniel Jones, that's what you're worried about. You know, they're going to go see the number one overall pick quarterback. You take it second overall next year. I guess you don't mean that. Okay. But you're not getting a first run pit for him. Also, they don't have. Well, they don't have their first round. They don't have it. It's like who that feels john to me, where it's like, who's on the ticket? It's like, what are you going to do? Jonathan Taylor is just going to sit there and do nothing for the next two years. You say that, but it's like the butts that they need revenue, but they need ticket revenue. It's like people are paying for tickets. Like are people going to purchase tickets to the games? That's what the owners care about that. I understand that. But let's say the Colts are two and nine with Jonathan Taylor. Our ticket sales significantly different if they're two and nine without Jonathan Taylor. Maybe. I think that's the revenue difference in those games. If you're two and 11 with or without Jonathan Taylor. Oh, so here's my question. If the best offer you get for Jonathan Taylor is a third and a sixth round pick, would you trade Jonathan Taylor? Probably, probably not. What if it's like a high second? A high second? Yeah. Who's trading you a high second that implies they're not going to make the play else. It's a low second. No one's giving you a high second, right? Well, you have to look at what picks people have stockpile. But sure, I'm mid to late second. Sure. So if you're looking at it, who are the teams that just I'm just going to win standings top to bottom? Vikings or six and oh, maybe they want to run it back. After that, the Niners of Christian McCaffrey, the Chiefs of Ken Walker, the Bills of James Cook, the Browns just drafted Quinshaw and Judkins, the Bears of Deonja Swift, and they need Jonathan Taylor, the Broncos, you could put them on the list. Maybe the Steelers. I mean, Jalen Warren is playing so well. Why would you trade for a second for Jonathan Taylor? What about Houston? Well, they just traded their second for Marvin Harrison Jr. So that's what I'm saying though. There's no market for Jonathan Taylor. And so that's what I'm saying. Like, are the Packers, they have Josh Jacobs? Like, are the Patriots going to trade his second? Are you know what I mean? I'm like, you go at Lions of Jimmy or Gibbs. I guess the only teams that I think this is why trades are always like lower than you think they would be. This is why. What's the market? The only teams that are not really invested at running back that are going to make the playoffs, I would argue are the Vikings, the Broncos, the Jaguars and the Bengals. And I think three of those teams probably wouldn't want to do it anyway. And so why is it going to go for more? You could throw in Washington. You could throw in Cincinnati. There are teams. You think, but Washington's one in four and one. You think they're going to trade a second for a running back? I don't know if you believe that you have a shot at the division. Well, I mean, they got to deal with JG McCarthy now. I don't know, but I think I think that's the really weird answer is that a lot of the teams that have invested in running back are going to make the playoffs. So I mean, why would you go trade for take one if you could go trade for Jonathan Taylor? So I almost feel like take one has nowhere to go and nobody would want him. No, and I think the Eagles maybe would think about it. But I honestly, he looked really good on the first time. He looked great. He looked explosive. Yeah. But yeah, so I think DK, this is a home run for Seattle. I think that again, the Seattle defense wins in the trenches. I think the Leonard Williams and Byron Murphy defense attacker, the quietest, great duo in the NFL in any position that no one knows their names. And then now an offensive line, like, okay, like you kind of being an askick or an offense to again, I mean, think about like the Seahawks point of view, you know, Aaron Donald's coming back for the Rams. Miles Garrett will be back at some point. Then now we're dealing with the Forest Buckner, that some of the young interior defensive lineman for the 49ers. I mean, it's a massive need for the Seahawks to get out of the NFC West, not to mention, you know, not to mention get far in the playoff. So yeah, I don't think we've said this on the show, but we'll be in Los Angeles for the trade deadline. We're going to be in person, DK and our getting middle A in person for the trade deadline. It's going to be really fun. I think there's a lot of people that are getting traded. And honestly, big names. I think Khalil Mac could get traded. I feel like, why isn't he going to go back to Chicago? I feel like Prime Thomas Jr. is like gun probably going to get traded, even like not famous, but been around like Dallas Goddard. I see really going to stay on the Eagles. Like there's just a lot of people that I think are going to get dealt. So all right, just to beginning anything else on this trade or anything else before we go to power here. Happy for Seattle. I feel bad for Niners fans because Niners fans, my dad's already pissed that Quentin Nelson's on Seattle. But he's happy about it. It's a forest Buckner. Yeah, a forest Buckner is really nice because Nickboast has always hurt. So it's good to have somebody. No, he's not always hurt. He's pre-hurt. So he's so this way he'll get back in time for the playoffs. They're getting injured in the beginning. Yeah, it's smart. Now this is cool. I'm just ahead of the curve. I root for Seattle. All right, we're going to go through. I'm ecstatic. All my Seahawks group chat. I root for you over the moon right now. Yeah, that's really what I want. Thank you. I yeah, it is, it is, yeah, it's crazy. They got him for third. Okay, power ring. They're in a fifth. I'm like, I know it's one of those. What a trade. I'm like that. Seahawks fans are trying not to get out over our skis on this, but it does feel a lot like the Leonard Williams trade and the Wayne Brown trade, which both work fucking home runs for the Seahawks. Yeah. So it just feels good. Now there has been some very high profile misses for the Seahawks too. Like Percy Harvin, that one was terrible. That's a receiver guy. I know the Jimmy Graham trade didn't really work out the way that they wanted it to. But this one feels just right now awesome. It feels like a great trade for them. I can't believe they get third and fifth. I'm like, why are the Patriots trading for Quentin Nelson? Yeah, I think that if you really dove through everything, there's all these like scheme fits, charts, like you could go through finances, transactions, all these things, like these reasons. And on the other end of it, I think the biggest thing is like fantasy football. Yeah, 30. They just get stuck on the numbers 30 years old. Aren't the Patriots on like their fifth guard? It's like, yes, I agree. But it's a second rounder. Good offensive lineman are the hardest thing to get in the NFL. This is why it's crazy. But I really think it comes down to it's a cost-controlled youth asset and people don't want to flip depreciating asset. They don't want to give up cost-controlled future assets for depreciating assets. That's what teams think about it. But then sometimes it's the Niners and Trent Williams. They flipped the fucking third round pick for Trent Williams and they got the back half of the Hall of Fame career. I mean, but he had cancer. So that was like a very unique situation. Well, Washington hid cancer from him and he demanded a trade. However, the Niners also told Joe Staley to not announce he was retiring till after they got to Williams. So they pay less. So even with that, Washington literally told Joe Staley to pretend he was going to keep playing so the Niners could pretend like it wasn't important to them. So they weren't that way. That's why they was only a third rounder. So I should correct myself. The hardest thing to
Define is a quarterback. I would say the second hardest thing to find is a good offensive alignment. Um, anyway, so I'm ecstatic about it. It's got one for fifth. It's easy. Uh, anyway. So we're going to go power our things that have aged the worst this season. And again, every two minutes, you're going to hear this sound. We still like the gong or we think, I think the gong plays. I, I, I love the gong. So what that said, can put two minutes on the clock. And I, we have to start here with the thing that's aged the worst this season, given the news of the day, has to be these cults contract extensions for Daniel Jones. Yeah. The cults. I mean, this whole, their whole plan is unraveled very quickly. By the way, I want to apologize. I have, I'm fighting off a cold. So my voice sounds crazy. Does it sound different to you guys? Cause I feel like I can't hear myself very well. Yeah. Thank you for apologizing. Cause I actually have been disgusted. Uh, anyway. So the cults, the cults, they, especially two contracts during this offseason, Daniel Jones and Alex Pierce in, in, I think both at the time and in hindsight, look horrible. Um, they signed Daniel Jones to a two year, 88 million dollar extension. They signed Alex Pierce to a four year, 116 million dollar extension. If you look at the guarantees, guaranteed money, total guaranteed money. Here are the players. The, here are the receivers on the top of that list, Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, JSN, CDLAM, DK McAf, and Alec Pierce. Like, at the time, it didn't make sense. Now it makes even less sense because he hurt, he re-insured his foot or his heel, had to get surgeries. You're gonna miss the entire year. He wasn't like a huge difference raker in my opinion in the first place. He was a good role player. But I don't know if he was necessarily the guy that you give this type of money to. And then the Daniel Jones thing is just aged about exactly what you'd expect. He's coming off in a kill. He's injury. I think the, what, the way that they played, they were trying to recapture lightning in a bottle. It didn't feel like that was going to be very, very easy or possible. And they've failed very bad at it. Alec Pierce is the worst receiver contract since Christian Kirk and Daniel Jones is the worst quarterback contract since, Daniel Jones. They got so wrapped up in that eight know or whatever it was last year. Like, it completely just worked their brain and they couldn't get it out of their heads and they kind of doubled down. It's a spite red flags. And that's what happens when you give a GM at ultimatum to win, is they have to double down because they can't admit that that might have been added. They're, they're afraid of losing their job. And you knew that the frickin aged for Alec Pierce. And so yeah, they culture in a terrible position. It's too bad. I do feel that. But it's impressive that this was not number one. What's number two on this list? I'm shocked. It's not number one. I was going to say, I'll be totally honest. Just a good segue Craig. That was number one because we were going to talk about the trade and it felt weird to go out of order. But this is number one for real. Number one thing that's actually aged the worst is Mike McDaniel being the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers and just the LA Chargers in general. Because no, because everybody thought those cults contracts were bad when it started when Mike McDaniel came in, all of us, everyone pretty much consensus was like, wow, the chargers. This is going to be the offense to watch this year. Super ball. Super ball aspirations. I mean, this team was 11 and six each of the last two years with Harbaugh. Now my and they never could figure out the right coordinator play color with Herbert. And now they get guru Mike McDaniel. The one thing I'll say is I was going back and reading the quotes from August that McDaniel was saying and Herbert was saying about the offense. What was going on? In August, Mike McDaniel said Herbert had exceeded his expectations and adapting to this offense, praised him for working on his craft every single day. He said he had lofty expectations for Herbert. I can say with absolute certainty he exceeded those. Herbert said, I could tell we were going to get along really quickly really well. How well this offense is put together. It just makes sense. It's a really cool offense. And I've never seen it before. And now they're own six. So the only winless team in the league. And even the, don't you remember the Quentin Johnson preseason bomb that 50 yard touchdown? Everyone's like, holy shit. It's fucking on. Yeah. It's really easy to just pile on the chargers. And we could go through a bunch of stuff with the terrible. But DK, I also think there's an element of like the entire football media needs to fucking have a beginning of the David Chico, like whipping yourself on the back here like self-legal position. We were obsessed with them. I was obsessed with them. Oh, yeah. Everyone was. And I actually think the media owes people a man couple. Like, why were we all under this spell of this? Is it where we just like? Because it made sense. What are we talking about? I feel we're going to have to investigate really what happened here in the offseason because this guy, Mike McDaniel, led the NFL in points and yards with two at Tongue of I low. I guess they had Tyree Kale. Maybe that's the secret sauce is it's Tyree fucking Hill. But I don't think we were wrong to get this excited. I think it's just a catastrophe. So I in respect to the Gong put the next person here as what's age the worst is I just literally put Jim Harbaugh for number three. Sleepy Jim, who's literally aging the worst. But I think Daniel has made us question the cognitive ability of Jim Harbaugh. Just sleepy Jim Harbaugh. But I put this here because I knew we wouldn't do the charges in two minutes. I feel like I guess what I'm saying is that we've talked a ton about the charges of terrible. How Justin Herbert's terrible. But in all seriousness, what did we miss, DK? Like, what is the reason that we were we were talking? I was talking about just Herbert shadow MVP and they're Oh and six and he's an abomination. Well, yeah, putting putting my putting myself in my shoes from the offseason. It was basically like if they make Daniel can do this with Tua. Think about what he can do with a big fucking how it's around quarterback like like Herbert and think about what he can do with the run game with the big physical, explosive runner like a marine Hampton. So why think about what could happen? Well, think about what could happen with, you know, Lad McConkey coming back healthy. I think what has happened is none of the pieces actually fit the offense that McDaniel wants to do. And I think there's also a huge snowball effect where Herbert has completely lost his confidence and he doesn't know how to play quarterback anymore. So I think there's and then obviously Lad McConkey got hurt. And Johnson regressed he would. I don't think he was ever really that good. We probably got over our skis the most on him. And then he just I mean, he got concussion and broke his ribs immediately and then he's into like a foot injury. So all though, Joe also has let basically lost all their fucking tackle line. They're they got injuries. They were good when they were healthy though. Almost applying well when he was healthy. They played terrible before all the injuries to start the season. It's almost like all the players were rehabbing injuries. In the NFL, there's very small like the it's the good teams are like a razor's edge better than the bad teams, right? Like there's also there's very small margins in the NFL. Everybody's good. Everybody's getting paid. But the the chargers are like losing on the margins everywhere. You does that make sense? I think the two places where I feel the worst about getting really excited about the chargers were Hampton who we never really knew if he was that good. I think to be honest, you know, we was kind of like a few runs here and there. He looked awesome. Everything else is just kind of like I don't know. And then the Quentin Johnson stuff I regret being so excited about. Quentin Johnson because I just think he's a limited receiver in his skill set. I think that in short, we all thought Mike McDaniel was more cutting edge than he really was because he has this hipster energy. And that actually he succeeded in a different NFL offensive environment to which we assumed he could adapt. And in reality, he installed the offense really poorly. And you can tell because every different position group doesn't know what they're doing. The pre snap flags, the panel running backs are fumbling when receivers are on motion hitting the center with the snap when they can't snap the ball right. Like every individual group is failing, which goes to the coordinator. Harbaugh doesn't know to fix it because he doesn't know anything about this offense because he's only he's only worked with Greg Roman at every level of the NFL. He's only by the great group. This is like when some of the Geeks squad comes into like fix some old men's stereo. And he's like, I don't know what you do it. Whatever you do works for me. Exactly. And it's like it's like, again, Harbaugh had only worked Greg Roman was that Stanford, San Francisco chargers. He had never not worked with him. So he can't fix it. He doesn't know. He really is that Craig. Like he doesn't know. He needs the Geeks squad. And we thought McDaniel was good at the Geeks squad. The Geeks squad guy shows up. He's kind of high. You think he's vaping under his breath. And you realize that he doesn't actually know what the fuck the problem is either. So did we did we vilify Greg Roman somehow? I've said for a long time that I would not take the charges seriously till they got rid of Greg Roman for real because he always doesn't have a modern passing offense. And ironically now the league is kind of swung back closer to that. Also, but then he brings in things like Alec Engolden. I know I'm just going now, but he brings in the full back Alec Engold. And you're like, Oh, that's smart. That's like his Kyle use check. Dude, Alec Engold's been like one of the worst players in the league. Like he is the on off splits, like the tape, like every Alec Engolds are an abomination. No, we can't do it. No one knows. It's just a symphony of disorganization at every play. It's remarkable. I think I mean at the sake of being too reactionary, I feel like I can't I can't remember a larger rug pull or you know, something that has aged worse. Like since we've been doing the show in terms of expectation versus reality, I agree. And that's why I want, I know we're just disrespecting the gong, but it's worth it. Like age the worst. I think it like the reason I'm not trying to, this is one of the shocking NFL outcome since we've done this show. It's not just six. I think it's the biggest the NFL media has been wrong about a team. I agree, Craig. Like like the expectation versus reality on an individual team. I can't remember being great. And it's not even just oh, it's like it's not oh and six. They're like losing close games and they look at everything is horrible. It's like they're, they're, they're second to last yard or in points that Herbert has an interception in all six games. No one else has done that. They have the highest interception rate in the league. It's the worst Herbert's ever played.
It's that there's 28 yards. They're throwing for 168 yards per game. All his picks are really bad offensive guards in week one. They were rotating guards in week one. Once we get to the Thursday, Friday, preview. Anyway, well, they're playing the Rams this weekend. The next one I had on this list was and we'll actually do two minutes on the clock this time, but the Rams. The Rams aged the worst and the Rams being a super team super bowl favorite. It's like milk. The Rams are aging literally the worst, I would say. This is more of like every, every question mark that we raise in the off season has come true. And most of it is around super teams usually don't pan out. Old superstar teams usually don't pan out. If everything goes right, it can work. And I do think if everyone's healthy on the Rams, they are great. But look what we have. I mean, Miles Garrett's played 40 snaps this season. Aaron Donalds in and out. Stafford looks older because he is older. Devonta Adams ruptured his hamstring and is out till the playoffs, maybe. And they just lost to the Cardinals a few weeks ago. They're looking like an old team that needs everything to go perfectly to succeed and it hasn't gone perfectly. Yeah. I think the biggest surprise to me is like what when I put myself in my shoes during the off season, I was terrified of the Miles Garrett, Aaron Donald combination. And we haven't really seen those guys playing together very much yet. So I do. I'm not like I haven't haven't played together. Correct. Sorry. Donald missed the week one or whatever in the industry. That also aids the worst. Right. Yeah. That didn't go great. There's things have just gone awry for the Rams. I'm still not ready to like get count them out. Obviously, I think they're still going to be fine. The Rams are going to be a wild card team and they're going to get Devonta Adams back. And they're going to be the best terrifying fucking wild card team ever. Yeah. But you're playing a wild card team at home and you're like, it's Devonta Adams, Miles Garrett, Aaron Donald, Matt Stafford. Put it to kill it. But like three weeks or sorry, seven weeks. And if they if I had you told me they were three and four, I'd have been like, get the fuck out of here. Like no, there's that's not happening. They've been. They flipped the massively. Yeah. Rams don't make the playoffs. They're going to give the Browns like a top 15 pick in the draft. Yeah. So no, I agree. And the special teams too. Also just the inability to just get a kicker. It's right. Signing a 300 pound kicker also age poorly. It did his Instagram follow and then finding the smallest kicker they could find the next week. And then he got immediately hurt. Yeah. It's just gone poorly. The Ringer fantasy football shows brought to you by Fandall Thursday night football. Just got a little more rewarding with Fandall rewards club with Fandall rewards club. I know this is really unpopular, but I actually kind of think the Carolina Panthers getting three enough points is a good bet. I know that's insane because they just got walloped by Tampa Bay. And they are traveling to Lambo fields on a Thursday night. However, Thursdays are weird. I think under underdogs and Thursday generally do well. And I think the teams that it was just a weird game for Carolina. Like it was wonky that we turnovers. But I don't think Green Bay has anywhere near the defensive prowess that Tampa Bay has, the interior talent. I know that they were they played pretty well against Dallas, but I really think getting Carolina to be able to lose my field goal and still win you this. I actually think that they're going to be pretty competitive. So I actually kind of like Carolina with the points in this game. What do you think, Craig? That's not bad. What I'm going to go with is Matthew Golden to score a touchdown in this game. He drops three every week. So he's just going to catch one of them and you'll hit. You know, everybody in this Christian Watson is the end zone guy. Well, Matthew Golden only one less end zone target than Christian Watson this year. And again, he drops three touchdowns a game. Just going to catch one. I like that. I wish you could parlay it. Matthew Golden to catch a touchdown with Matthew Golden to drop a touchdown. Oh yeah. Really good. Parlay. Do you care what do you have for this game? I'm going to go the opposite way that you went high. So I think the Packers are going to dominate this game. And I think because of that, Josh, I'm going with Josh Jacobs over rushing. I think they're going to have him salt away the game late in the game. He's going to he's got his feet under him a little bit now for getting back last week. So I'm going Josh Jacobs over rushing. What's what's the number on that? It's 58 and a half right now. Do the Packers have 58 rushing yards all season? It's going to be the time to do it. So before Thursday, football kicks off, head to the Fandall app and check out what's available for your level. Number five things that have aged the worst this NFL season. Decay, you had just drafting players on the Philadelphia Eagles. Yeah, flipping it back to fantasy. I feel like we voiced our concerns over the Eagles. There was very real concerns about the offensive structure, the offensive philosophy, the fact they lost Jeff Stoutland. And yet, we still kind of just ignored that. Still drafted, Stakewore Barclay. Still got excited about Devanta Smith. Still got excited about Jalen Hertz for two at an extent. Obviously in fantasy. And then all this is just going to hell. I would say Devanta, when he's playing has kind of lived up to expectations. He's been good from a points per game standpoint, but he got hurt. But otherwise. Well, that points for snap. He's doing that. Stakewore snap has been great. Totally. One of the one of the best ever really. But it's just been the it's been the season from hell for the Eagles. Everything has gone wrong. They're pretty close to just doing a fire sale at this point. And we're having a fire sale. If going back and looking at the ADP, Stakewore was the first rounder. He was the RB6. Right now, he's RB 40 and points. RB 47 and points per game. He's the only bad pick in the first round. Yeah. What's the what's the points per snap? It's probably up there. Probably up there. Devanta Smith was a second or third rounder. Y receiver 13 and ADP. He's a Y receiver 11 and points per game. But Y receiver 33 and total points this year. So he hasn't really been a huge benefit to your team. And then Jalen Hertz was the QB 5. He's the QB 24 right now in total points. You took Jalen Hertz the year they stopped during the Tush push and that was annoying before the blood clots thing. Right. So yeah, that's the thing is like he was underperforming relative to expectation and fantasy even before he got hurt now and now he's out for the year. But the Eagles, even at the end of last year, looked bad in the offense. I mean, it was like the most frustrating offense in the league. So it's like I tried to avoid the Eagles at all costs. I wanted to have Hertz very low in the ranking because they're just the most frustrating team to watch. And it felt like buying a piece of rotting fruit and one side of the Apple's rotten, but you just turn it around and eat the other side and be like, everything's going to be fine. And it's not. And even without the injuries, I still didn't like the Eagles offense this year. Eagles average third down is third and eight, which is the longest in the NFL. Number six, things that have aged the worst this season. I didn't know. I just going to combine a few things. They're all the same story to me. The Jackson Dart Jersey. I bought my brother for his birthday. Yeah. As aged poorly, as well as the Vikings dumping JJ McCarthy to the Giants for a fifth rounder has aged poorly. And Kevin O'Connell, Vikings, head coaches, reputation is quarterback Whisperer has aged poorly. I'm just kind of lumping all that together. Yeah. You think you think the Jersey, the Jackson Dart Jersey has already lost most of its value since you've driven it off the lot. Well, he's literally he's out for the season. No, it's crazy. I mean, Jackson, he's going to have 14 starts entering his third NFL seat. Yeah, who does that sound like? I you're starting quarterback. You're the guy you love. You look, everyone's saying it's just one game. Sometimes it's all you need to see. You know what I mean? Right. And it's you know what? It's not just one game quarter. It's five. Yeah. Right. That I'm so glad you said if you round up, it's two, which is really half a month. Also, let's add in those random fourth quarter comeback games he had with the Vikings, you know what my as well. I actually wanted to know what you guys think is I'm obviously incredibly biased. Look, obviously, Jay, Jim McCarthy could go back to sucking. I do think this was a bad trade for the Vikings for this exact reason because Jay, Jim McCarthy is under contract through the end of next season. And yes, he could be bad. But it's a fifth round already in a world where these fifth round draft picks suck fifth round draft picks three years ago used to go back to call or used to go back to the NFL. And now you go to college for more money than you get the fifth round. So fifth rounders are fucking worthless. Well, yes. That's a good point to bring up high fits. And that's something that's kind of what you've seen in the draft. Like we still have a hundred. I don't know the top or I don't know the number of top my head. It was like a hundred plus underclassmen go into the draft. It would make the draft so much deeper. You'd get guys who can come in and start in the fifth round. It's going to be NFL players. Right. Hundreds of thousands of dollars. And now it's like, I'll make more money at Western Michigan. Now we have very few or relatively way fewer underclassmen declaring because they can go back and make a ton of money and develop in college game. So yeah, it's a huge deal. And I think again, I just want to be a fly on the wall and what was going on in the in the building in Minnesota because like they were they seemed very very aggressive wanting to get rid of him as soon as possible. Like they with the way that they name combining the way they named Kyler Murray the starter with the way that they traded him away. JJ McCarthy away. I'm like, what what was happening in the building? Well, I think he just again, confidence is a really important thing in sports. I think he lost his confidence and a change of scenery sometimes is the best thing. You think there's a chance he was watching Kyler Murray. He's like, this guy stinks and you're you're not starting me over him. Maybe. Yeah, maybe like to legitimately. Yeah, JJ.
You could go back to sucking them aware of it, but the reason you don't do the trade is you only need them to play like this once or twice for the trade value to go up if you know what I mean. Anyway. Number seven, things that age terribly, DK, you're right about this, is really none of us really believed in safe flowers. Sometimes this is like a detective will hold on to one little fact and then it's not even true and then you kind of like the whole case goes wrong or whatever, it's like we really glommed on to the not scoring touchdowns thing was a flowers and I think we kind of just had that in our head and then we were like, I don't want to draw safe flowers. But touchdowns are random. That kind of is the thing that happens in NFL. We've seen him score big touchdowns this year. It doesn't need to be in the red zone because he's scoring 50 yard touchdowns. He scored touchdowns of 58 yards, 48 yards and 19 yards this season. He also had big plates of 49 to 52 where he was tackled inside the 10 yard line. So by the way, he's averaging 30 more yards per game this year than he did last year. So I think we kind of just, you know, I personally just kind of like glommed on to the touchdown stat only and ignored the idea that he could improve. He could be a bigger part of the offense under a new offensive coordinator. I don't know if like, I don't know if like this was a really obvious mistake or just something that happens and maybe he doesn't score one more touchdown all year and then we end up looking right. But to me, it's like we should probably should have not focused so much on the touchdowns thing. Well, I guess it's a huge mess. I mean, but he, he'd only ever had five touchdowns receiving in his career. He already has three in six games. He's probably going to have a lot more than that. However, you know, we talked about the Mike McDangle thing. It was kind of the same with Declan Doyle. Declan Doyle comes in. He's talking about, say, Zayf Flowers. It's like, oh, okay, this, this young guru is going to come and change the offense. It's like, no, we know what Zayf Flowers is. We know his limitations, his size limits him in the red zone. Like, unless he just starts scoring 45-yard touchdowns, I don't really see it. Well, now he's just scoring 45-yard touchdowns. Right, right. So I feel like our skepticism was fair, but it had still inherently aged poorly. Right. I'd also say he got the huge contract extension, which was like Justin Jefferson, C.D. Landmoney. We were confused. But also, the Ravens, Warren Sharpe at this stat, the Ravens have had the second easiest schedule in the NFL so far, but they have the hardest schedule going forward. You could convince me that Zayf Flowers is a great sell high. If you're actually able to get someone who believes that he's a top five receiver going forward. If you could pick up, like, you know, put it this way, I don't think it'd be hard to get Justin Jefferson and someone else to Zayf Flowers. So if you could do something like that, there's a world where this, he's been great, but he probably won't have the best season of yards per run of all time. Probably not. The next one, I could have put this way higher, probably should have. The next thing that age poorly is the 2027 quarterback draft class being the fontate. One of my favorite traditions of the NFL calendar is when 12 to 18 months before our draft, everybody goes, well, this year's, that next year's draft class that quarterback is going to be pretty special. So you should really stockpile picks, either Jets, the dolphins, probably Tennessee, who knows going to be looking for quarterbacks this year? And the Archmaning, Dante Moore, Sam Levitt, Brendan Sorsby, CJ Carr, man, you're looking at things now. You're waking up sober on Sunday morning after a while and that out. And you're like, all right, Archmaning might get benched. He's got like 10 turnovers this year. Dante Moore's out for the rest of the year, Sorsby, that's a whole other thing. Sam Levitt's been disappointing. I guess CJ Carr out at Notre Dame and now it's like guys like Drew Mesta maker who didn't start at varsity in high school. And Dary and Mensa in Miami who's on his third team. You need to say that again, Drew Mesta maker, a zero star crew didn't play, didn't start for varsity high school, didn't play quarterback is if the draft was tomorrow would be the number one pick in the end. He's a walk on. Yeah. Like, it is a lightly precedented event that Drew Mesta maker is going to end up being like a top five quarterback in this draft in a world where Archmaning, I mean, Steve Sarkeesie was pretending he was going to bench Archmaning like two, like a week ago. Like it just now feels like this quarterback draft is like any other where nobody fucking knows. This happens every year. You know, do you know who saw the story how we rose been who swiped a 2028 pick from the fucking page? Well, because I hear the 28 class is great. That starts talking up. Everyone says that because you just start naming guys. You just like Archmaning, Dante Moore, Sam Levitt and then it's like, then you watch the guys. Like these guys aren't that good. And Dante Moore, my hot, I feel bad because Dante Moore's out for the season on a real, like the cheap shot of the season. A cultural wall. I mean, it's a serious reason to, yeah, but it does complicate the evaluation. But my hot take entering last year's draft when Dante Moore was going to come out was I thought Trinidad Shambles would have a better NFL career than Dante Moore. And now it's like Trinidad Shambles might get drafted ahead of Dante Moore. He's like 5/11. And so it will be 25 years old. He's like 5/10. He's old. He's old to sell. Anyway. Yeah. This is something to like speaking of doing the Memento tattoos in the draft, like in doing NFL draft, Memento tattoos and like, man, these guys got to go out and play and prove that they're getting some of the, like the reason they're getting all this hype. They have to prove it. We've seen so many times over the years where guys getting an amazing amount of hype and then they keep playing and their like sample size gets bigger. And then all of a sudden you're like, Oh, actually, he's not very good. Matt Barkley is the one that always comes to my mind. It's unfair to Matt Barkley, but I just remember, people being like, Oh, he's going to be the number one pick. He's incredible. He's going to be the next big thing. And then he was like a fifth round pick. So I don't know. And Matt Howell is another one or what's the same how it just happens all the time. The next one here, things that age poorly, fading trade, McBride, even a little. This is kind of like the tight end version of JSN where we were like, Oh, the volume is just not going to translate year over year. He's going to have regression and volume because of X, Y and Z. And we thought that with JSN, JSN's been doing incredible. And then Tramock, Brian, I mean, he is literally second in the NFL and catches per game. Only Pukka Nikua has more catches per game. This is the guy who set the record for tight ends in a single season catches. And we were like, Ah, it's probably not going to happen again. He's not, you know, like I'd rather draft powers. I mean, in our defense, powers is outscoring him and per game basis, but Tramock, Brian is on pace for 142 yards, 1145 yard, sorry, 142 catches, 1145 yards and 10 touchdowns. There's, there's two things here. I think not, we got, we got, we got wrong because if anything, I think fading jets, Cardinals, Browns, dolphins was probably a good, was probably correct over a long time, over the long show. It was probably the right process. Right. Right. We did discuss exempting Tramock, right from that. And we kind of did the two things that we kind of got wrong was, well, the Cardinals have thrown less than last year and Chris Jacobi percent leads the NFL and pass attempts. It doesn't, you know, drafted chair. My love didn't see anything. I also, and I mean this, I think I underrated that Tramock, Brian has the alpha receiver demanding of the football thing where like all time greats are furious when they don't get the football. And tight ends. That's just a rare quality. I think Tramock, Brian actually like, you could see that when they were down 14 last week. Tramock, Brian was like, he's like an NBA player. He's like, give me the ball every fucking time I'm going to do this. And like that does impact work quarterbacks throw, man, like you need the coaches to be a little scared. Like this guy might punch me in the face if you don't get on the ball. He was already doing this before. So to me, this isn't the reason he's doing so well. But it is kind of crazy when you go back to the summer and you, if you would have told us that Marvin Harrison Jr. would be gone and Jeremiah love would be doing absolutely nothing. And Michael Wilson was is doing relatively nothing. Going back to August and telling ourselves like bits of truth would make us worse. Like if I told you the Vikings were undefeated, you'd be like, Oh, Kyler Murray must be fucking killing it. Number 10, things that age the worst, I had every offseason trade for a skill player for the team that got the player. Yeah, I can't tell if this is worse in fantasy or for the actual teams in real life. But man, well, you can go down the list, AJ Brown did the Patriots, Jalen Waddle, the Denver, some of the smaller ones, DJ Moore, the Buffalo has been tricky. He's been good when he's playing, but he's been hurt a lot. Michael Pitman to the Steelers. Sure wish we didn't spend all that money on him now that we had Jeremy Bernard and we've got a contract extension too. It wasn't just a six round pick. It was like the game like 20 million dollars. David Montgomery going to Houston disaster after that smoke screen of a week one. AJ Brown's been good in New England though. Yeah, he's been great. That one as well. I'm glad I played. 8 snap AJ. Yeah, he's been good. 8 snap AJ. I will say that this is the drops are a weird stat because obviously it's like the most subjective really of all the football. I want the drops that to be did it hit you in the chest because AJ Brown leads that one. Well, a couple of heads that hit you in a number. Yeah, if it's just your hands, that's one thing, but if it hits your fucking body, that's a different. I never realized how stupid you look with it when you can't catch a football wearing a visor until this year with AJ Brown. Also, this is a, I don't know if there's a way to actually judge this mathematically. But he has the grossest looking drops. It looks like he's not trying to catch the ball. It's like his base jam. I'm going to take the power. 100%. Yeah. It's like, dude, put your hands out. Open your hands. I'm sure he is doing that. But it looks like he's not. I'm sure he did. Do you know what I mean? There's like so many plays with AJ Brown where I'm like, did you even try it? Did you get to catch that? It didn't feel like he tried. It looks like, because my friends are having kids now, so I think I'm around more kids. And you forget that kids really can't catch.
Yeah, and he looks so uncoordinated terrible and he kind of looks like that. Sometimes the visor is real though, you know, this visor is dangerous and inconvenient, but I do look cool. I think that's most probably things like the fig newtons. Okay, some honorable mentions. I don't know if we have to do the clock, but we can rip through these honorable mentions of things that age terribly. Raiders had coach Clint Kubiak saying at half time of the Chiefs game, we're going to win the game and then the Raiders have not won a game since. Who? Yeah. Not great. Respect it. Drafting running backside, the Raiders taking genty over like an offensive lineman, and that the Cardinals taking Jeremiah love third this year, not really aged great. Ravens resigning work Andrews and letting Isaac. That's a good one. That's a really good one. How do we not put that one higher? That one's got me really high. That probably cracks top 10. Yeah, I guess I should especially to take your Jackson dart one out. We're place it with that. It's also the age thing too, because the Ravens of all the teams literally of all the teams in the NFL, I would expect the Ravens and the Eagles to most be like, we're going to pay the 26-year-old, not the 30-plus-year-old who's had injuries and it's the least Ravens like move I can remember. Speaking of that, the Seahawks not offering Kenneth Walker a contract. At least that one makes sense because you have a ton of free agents. At least there's a philosophy there. The Ravens won. They're the same position. And one guy's 26 and has been great. And it doesn't make any sense to me. Other things that age poorly. The Buccaneers, it's a little unfair, but keeping Todd Bowles over Liam Cohen. I know this is like a year ago and it's always in fear. You could say keep the coordinator, but I'm like, oh my god, the Todd Bowles thing. The Buccaneers letting Mike Evans leave, which I do think there was friction between Todd Bowles and Mike Evans and just letting Evans go and Bowles and the Buccaneers, they paid Baker and they're just in a mess and I feel like they're in a no-mance land. That feels like a very light version of choosing. Well, not that the Ravens did this, but like keeping Harba over Mike McDonald's. A light version of this. Things that age poorly honorable mentioned, the 2024 NFL draft class that receiver again, Marvin Harrison Jr. Roma, Dunes A. Bryan Thomas Jr. Lad Maconkey. All these guys. I just can't really quickly things changed in NFL. Non-football, but I have to put down demanding that James Dolan sells the nicks as I have done for 20 years, aged really poorly this year. I feel like I didn't mention that. I have to ask you something that didn't make either list. We did this a week ago, aged the best, aged the worst. But the biggest story of August to me was kind of the substation with the 49ers, and it didn't make either list because on one hand, the Niners are the most injured team, but they're also only lost the game. And I wanted to ask you guys if you think the substation aged well or if it aged poorly. That's a great question. The fact that Mike Evans is out now makes me think the substation is still a very powerful force. And that Chris McCaffrey's leg is dead. They've lost so many guys. They've lost so many receivers. It's clear to me that Kyle Shanahan has has come up with some type of bargain deal with the substation where he's like, look, give me Brock Perry. Give me Christian McCaffrey and you can have whatever else you want. You could potentially even have myself. And that is I think what the deal with the devil of the substation this year. Did you guys I brought this up before, but again, it just comes to my mind. Death becomes her. This movie was narrow street and Bruce Willis from back in the day that these people I don't know the exact I can't remember the exact plot because I watched it when I was like 10, but it's basically they make a deal with the devil essentially and they get to live forever, but their bodies don't last forever. They just age and so like they use this doctor Bruce Willis to like keep them looking good and like doing plastic surgery and whatever. But they that's just kind of like the life of a billionaire now. But it's yes, but it is also the 49ers in a nutshell. They're just like walking around looking like the same age as their kids. That's just like what Chris Jenner is doing on a day-to-day basis. Yeah, big time. Art imitates life. Whatever. Life it's art. Please email us at ringerfinancingfootballgmail.com things that age the worst that we missed. I really want more of these. I want to age things that age the worst. It's a rich topic. Okay, we're going to go fantasy core. But first we have to do a little update ringer fantasy football leak. Craig, we're tied for first, baby. Bangkok, Craig won't go away. Bangkok, Craig. You made a comeback. I've won three straight. I'm fucking I'm in your nightmares right now. I'm Freddie Krueger. I'm just I'm just waiting for you to go sleep. Craig and I are tied for for first. DK, I guess technically is tied for 10th, right? No, I'm taking it according to your way of doing a type 10 or all the same way. No, that's not true. You were tied for 3rd to last. Craig and I are tied for first. You're tied for 3rd to last. Technically, that's correct. Sure. The fact that we are no, the three of us have the same record for I think a couple of weeks. DK lost. So now hyphids and I are both five and two and now DK is four and three. I wasn't a little bit of a coward though because I so I beat Dave Chang this week and I just have been relentless making fun of Dave for taking a kicker in the eighth round. And then I had Tony Pollard and I drafted Tony Pollard after drafted a kicker and then Tony Pollard scored 35 points this week on Chang. And I had said that I would not even play a kicker versus Chang to just and actually would have won if I'd not played the kicker. So I'm actually kind of kicking myself for not falling through. You kind of had to sweat it out though on I did. He had CD. He had CD lamb and I briefly was worried that a lot of my shit talking was going to come back on me. It would have been quite the sweat out though if I just stuck to my guns and benched my kicker. And of course he kept came little and played Ryan Fitzgerald to at one point, but it was really satisfying. We're still one two three in the league though to be clear. Well, we're one two and you're tied for 3rd to last. I'm trying to make us look good here guys. You don't have to argue with me. We're one two three in the standings. I don't need you to help me look good. I look good on my own. I'm 5 and 2. Even though, yeah, it's like Chris Jenner. Yeah. Bangkok Craig. Bangkok Craig is fucking on a hot streak right now. It's like fucking error god. He's like 90 years old, but he's just hot as hell, you know. I'm at the craps table in Bangkok 2 a.m. Sweat my balls off 10 whiskey's deep. Now I kind of want to go to eat Asia with you guys. I kind of want to hit Thailand with you guys. The Bangkok scenes from American gangster. Oh my god. I watch us every morning before I take a shower. Get fired up. Alright, fantasy court time. Yeah. Let's do it. In session. Definitely don't tell anyone about this thing that you're doing. I don't really want to be handcuffed. It is worth pointing out that the word shark in and of itself is a combination of what two words. Shit and fart. Exactly. Oh shit. That's good. I did not know that was supposed to do that. That is amazing. Well played, Cam. There's actually a lawyer who we work with that Spotify. I email with him all the time and he just emailed me a cold quote a few days ago and it just says, is it not true that shit plus fart equals shark? So I'm happy he could appreciate such crap. Could we check the transcript on that? So yeah. After fantasy court, we're going to do stupid court. I think we might have to move that to the stupid court in trail because we're going to need a stupid court in trail. And that has to be part of it. Shard and that's so shit and fart. Combination of what two words? That's so good. And then DK just begrudgingly being like shit and fart. I'm like exactly. No further questions here. Oh my god. This fantasy court case is from Mark. Mark and bone. Last year we decided to add a punishment. Someone suggested that the loser should pee his pants. Oh. Okay. Like publicly. Several guys immediately said absolutely not. They will not pee their pants. But one of our friends in the league was battling diabetes and had lost the ability to produce urine. And the guy who could not pee said, you guys are pussies. I can't pee anymore. And if I lose, I'll just shit my pants. Oh my god. Sadly, every league needs a guy like that up the Annie, you know, every league needs that guy. So unfortunately, sadly that friend passed away at 42 years old, just a few days before the draft. So the league made a pact in honor of their friend that the loser that year would pee their pants at the following draft. Oh my god. And if our friends team somehow won the championship, everyone would pee their pants together at the next year's draft. If pain your pants is cool, everyone's doing it. So for some additional context here, all of us are over 40 years old. Some of us are on the PTA. Some of us work for the government. PTA get it. P. Oh, that's good. PTA pun intended. Yeah. He says like, we're married. We're relatively successful. Otherwise, normal adults and amazingly, not a single one of our wives cared about the father of their children peeing their pants. Nana was approval. All right. Naturally, our friend who passed his auto drafted team was just loaded. Christian McCaffrey, Puka, George Pickens. This is last year leads to an amazing record gets all the way to the championship game. Lost in the finals. Which that guy, I think. Yeah. Come on. Fucking assholes. Yeah. In general, it's all dirty. Everyone's got to pee their pants. Thank you, friends. Yeah. Come on, man. Like he's
You imagine like is there a more hollow fantasy win that beating you for you come on just let it happen He says I'll add Everyone I talk to about it loves this punishment thinks it's hilarious to constantly ask about it He says fast forward to about three quarters of the way through the season The guy in last place started telling people that he wasn't actually gonna pee his pants This is last year. He's like I'm not gonna do it and his defense is basically. What are you gonna do? You're gonna kick me out? So luckily for him he made it to the toilet the ball, but he he won so he won that toilet ball So he lit a very literal toilet ball. He didn't have to pee So he's like problem solves right no because the guy who did come in last is like I don't want to pee my pants now either because the guy who I beat was like I'm not gonna do it if I lose So if he wasn't gonna do it, why do I have to do it? This is the snowball effect of cowardice. Yeah, the discipline. It's contagious Exactly so Mark writes that's where I knew fantasy court My argument is that the first guy is essentially entering a bet while openly admitting that if he loses He won't pay the terms of the man right you can't agree to the stakes Just when you think you're safe. So he says after an embarrassing long argument among grown men about peeing their pants We reach to compromise that if you don't pee you give up your first drum pick Okay, so my question is is losing his first drum pick a fair replacement punishment for not being his pants? I mean, I do like that punishment. I think it it's severely handicaps your team. How how would you you have to are you like Standing in a bucket when you pee your pants like where are you doing it? So it's a good system It's a good system. They have a they have they do like a dexter kill Are you at a restaurant or are you in a backyard? You buy a pool like where are you doing it? They have a good system. They have a pool party one of them is a pool and All of them are there and their wives are families everyone's there No phones no families there, but everyone has to just you have to can't we're bathing? So you have to wear like pants. You've to sit you have to pee your pants fully pee your pants But then you get to jump in the pool my god. There's gonna be a lot to do in front of everybody 90 style no videos Okay, I think that's like pretty honestly of all the ways to pee your pants. That's pretty good. That's tame Yeah, I don't really think it's all like you find that to be embarrassing like what why is he so opposed to this? Because it's like if everyone would have to do it. It's not like you're well Everyone's not doing it. It was gonna happen if they're friend. No, no I'm saying like It's not like this one person would be more embarrassed doing it than any other person like it's it's equal for all people Everybody peace everybody peace. I don't know. It's a weird hill to die on. I don't know I also think it's insulting because like literally their friend who passed was like literally said like you're a pussy Well, and also yeah, like it's like the question if they're friend who sadly passed away had won the league Would this guy still not have pissed his pants right? You're asking Craig because this is the question Mark didn't bring it up But it was the first thing I thought of which is is he would he just not have done it then I almost I'm surprised by this Considering this wasn't you know, this was this was concocted because of their beloved friend I feel like you gotta pee your pants. I I think there's like a spiritual level here where like I think it's a fair punishment In a vacuum. I think he shouldn't have a second-round pick either Yeah, I think it's actually up the punishment a little bit. It's not even hard for you. You think we're not asking that much For your pants just pee every time you pee up to take your pants down. It's like you don't have to do that Right less work Some people pee their pants for free, and it's not like you right sometimes. Yeah, it's not like ever you know If you have to take the SAT you run the risk of embarrassing yourself with a low score It's like it's it's gonna be the same for everybody pee your pants. Yeah, do you think perhaps he's embarrassed? He doesn't want to do it in front of all these friends families. I that's the only part of my life We got to take the families out of it Maybe it's like I don't want to piss my pants and all my front of my wife and all my friends wives and children Maybe that's a valid that's a valid boy. Maybe you suggest how you can do it just for the boys Yeah, and if not we're gonna really hit you with first round and second-round pick. I think that's I think that's the right answer Yeah, okay. All right. I'm glad we're on the same page on that one. Just piss your pants for the boys I put my pants in front of John Hamm. It's not that hard And Bill Hater. Yeah, no Hater wasn't there. Oh All right time for something very important This is the inaugural Session of stupid court Amazing Which I so we need a drop. I think we should take part of that far to short drop that we just did. That's a good section And then we got an email from Keegan Keegan breakfast was overnight out to the yogurt and chia seeds and protein powder with a pinch of salt. I love overnight Pinch of salt's a good note. Did someone so everything needs salt like it doesn't matter what you're eating Everything sweet everything savory everything sound like salt just improves everything. It's an enhancer across the board It's true. It's a lot of it's all your cereal. I learned it from Molly Bass. Do Jackie's Serial believer a lot of foods under salt. I think salt and cookies is the The secret of all the universe caramel coffee sometimes sure So Keegan writes for stupid court. You need a separate intro song. He was ahead of the curve with cam So Keegan writes This is the perfect time where this one needs the Craig saying night to me is when it's dark Right that one needs this and he says hyphids needs to be saying I don't want to get eaten When we were talking about big animals So I think those are candidates. I'm curious. I want people to email and candidates for the intro songs I do think Craig saying night needs to be dark That's a pretty good sharp one. The other one is I kind of want DK saying my dog is more athletic than secretary it I spot DK my dog is more athletic than secretary. It's my favorite thing. He gets ever set on the show I stand by it no regrets. Yeah, definitely not just convinced because it's your dog My dog not just a dog My I involved at all no better athlete than secretary. You see to move holy shit This incredible balance Oh my god. All right, so I how many dogs is you had DK? I mean in my life a lot. Oh probably 10 or 12 we had like three dogs at a time when I was growing up So yeah a lot All right, please keep you in the stupid court cases. I can't tell you how much fun I have the stupid court so It's a high bar to have the first stupid court, but this one this one felt like the right How do you even choose this hyphids? This is a big decision It was but I just kind of do in my soul which one should be the first one So this one's from Justin. Justin. Yeah, Jay bone Justin writes one of my best friends has been making fun of me for something for almost 40 years damn Justin writes it's my contention that if properly motivated You can successfully sniff up a fart before anyone else can smell it You know I've thought about this before I'm not afraid to admit that You just smell all the smell there's no smell I have thought about this before I don't see many times It's like a French inhale. Yeah, you're you're in the back of a car with a group of people You actually let one slips out and you're like can I how can I get rid of this? Sniff right up sniff it up. Are you using your mouth? No, you gotta go sniff Okay I love that that's part of it where you're like well you can't use your mouth Did you like isn't it going the same place? I don't want the particles in my mouth So the particle yeah, I would so I'd rather suffer the smell than know that I'm I'm in I'm ingesting them Orally, let's be honest You're eating shit. Yeah, I can't do that On a microscope There's a whole story attached and yet I feel like I don't even need to read it He farted around a girl He feels like he's like I sniffed it all up and she didn't notice and it's friends Like you know that she definitely noticed you're just an idiot and they were I sniffed it all up I need to see like an example of what you look like sniffing up a fart. I sniff your fart. I sniff it right up Oh my god, he like becomes addicted to it. I mean, he likes it now a little freak He probably does like the the far of far of beans or whatever or not far of beans far of beans. Yeah, he's a Here's what I'll say about Justin and his friend wait, so is it Justin or his friend who sniffed Justin think He can sniff up a fart Justin for anyone else smells the fart whether or not you can is beside the point. It's worth trying When you're in those moments when you're in a crucial high-stress moment trying to impress a lady Of course you try it of course you have to He came but we have to decide if he can actually do it. Well, he he's the best part though to Craig's point But the part of being on a date. We which is what it is I love that you knew that without even saying it because it's a date He farts and he's like she didn't notice and his friend's like she definitely noticed and he's like she did Don't mean afterward, but he's like but that that can't be why unrelated She's so you trying to sniff up a fart The farting wasn't like red flag here. He farted and he kept smelling his own episode almost it feels like We're Kramer like tried to sniff up his own fart. So Kramer's like you could do it, Jerry And then George tries to do it in an elevator and it doesn't work and then he gets fired and he's like I tried to sniff the fart Yeah, he's like what we do to your mouth. You know You can't do it just to your nose. You got to do it to the mouth. I don't want to do it through my mouth
it's a fart! I can't get that kind of suction if you're nose. I can't mouth sniff Jerry. So the question for the court is is it possible to sniff up your own fart before someone else catches a whiff? The key word is possible. Do you believe it's possible? Look, okay, here's what I'll say. Here's the deal. Here's the deal. Technically, when you actually think about it, if the fart were one tiny little amount of air, right? Let's say it was just like a tiny little cubic square of air. You could suck that up. Your nose has the power to suck in a small amount of air, so you could just start there. In theory, if you had a head by your butt, you could probably get the overwhelming majority of the fart. It'd be easier to sniff up someone else's fart technically. If it was the world's smallest fart and it was right in front of your nose, you could suck that away, probably. So I feel like just based on that, it's technically possible. Yeah, it's worth trying, and it's not a fool's errand to give that a shot. Oh my god, I just realized that I know one of our friends sibling is a did atmospheric chemistry, and I bet they might be able to answer this for us. I might have to text them. This brings me to another question. How much does a fart weigh? Stop. I dare say it's not zero. I would also, something that crossed my mind is what are the most effective fart suppressing techniques? Oh, interesting. What, like, do you guys have personal go-to's? Yeah, I just don't, or you talk about like, this email had a ton of things about like, what are you doing if you don't want anyone to smell it? I caught a bunch of this out, but he had an entire paragraph about timing farts with the slamming the handle of the door. He would close the door of the car and fart right then. He also said he took it at dead poet's and he farted during one of the games in dead poet's society because he didn't want it to hear, like a crack at the bat or something, and so that timing might need to change up his diet a little bit. What are your strategies, Greg? No, I asked you. You just don't. What do you accidentally fart and you don't want the people to smell it? What do you do? Oh, okay. I thought you were saying, oh, I don't know. You have to leave. You immediately blame it on someone else. You got to go. You got to exit. You have a glare at some time. I feel like you guys aren't really. No, but you have a small window where if you leave, you can bring the majority of it with you. That's where the prop does it is before it leaves. Well, before the key is like before it exits the pants. You have to. Exactly. You have to get out of that. Exactly. It's physics. Yeah. Do you ever have, like, if you're stuck somewhere, like, let's say you can't leave. If you're in a car, you're in an elevator or you're sitting on the couch in a room or something, you can't leave. I've always felt like if you kind of cross the legs and kind of just trap it. No air release. It's toxic down there, but if you can kind of keep it contained. It's like under the sheets in bed. You're just like dutch-offering it, but in your pants. In your pants. You know what? They're just drilling it into the couch. There is a way that here's my question. Will this work, Craig? This is the Shawshank version. You know how they very slowly and deliberately carry all the rock out in their leg, in their leg-pant leg. Yeah. And then like sprinkle them onto the yard so no one notices they're tunneling. One tiny little fart at a time over a course of a long time. You might be able to get away with it. Just let out barely anything at a time. There's something to that, you know? Yeah. You do this. Because if you let it all out right away, someone's going to smell it. You ever do the lean? You like lift one one sheet in the opposite direction of everybody else? I mean, you have to. Because also that makes it quieter. That's essential too. That makes it quieter. Wasn't there a joke somewhere? Is there some TV show where they like made underwear that like would catch the fart or something or it would like make the fart. Yeah, what is that from? There's some something. Yeah, it was either like scented underwear so that when you farted, it would like make it smell like an air freshener or would like catch it and so it wouldn't release. I forget. I googled it and I just get ads. I don't know what I was expecting, but yeah. I googled fart catching underwear. I think there's got to be a device out there that works. The short answer is look, I don't think Justin. Oh, Shark Tank. Someone pitched Shark Tank on a couple invented underwear for flatulence. I mean, you can't even put a price on that. It's invaluable. If we have to declare Justin crazy or not stupid or not stupid. Oh. That's the verdict. I mean, look, I'm going with stupid. He can't sniff it up with his freaking an awful. Here's why even if you can, there's no way he did. And even if he did, there's no way that it was better than just having her smell the fart. Like because there's no way it worked in the way he was hoping it would work that he sniffed. She probably thought he thought he was smelling her hair. He was just trying to sniff up a fart. Yeah, there's no way you do it subtly enough. You know, they say like the Guardian caps really only like prevent concussions by an extra one percent. It feels like the fart sniff is that like there is a world in which you could make the case that sure you are literally like removing air from the atmosphere momentarily. But there's no way you can actually suck up an entire. There's no way that's so extra style. Yeah, there's no way that's no way. Put it in the like the backpack. I know like the little little little device that you throw out there or whatever. Yeah. Oh, shit. That's funny. All right. So we're declaring this stupid. Yeah, I don't think he'd sniff up your fart. Sorry, Justin, but I'm good. I'm good. Sorry. Good. That's an incredible debut for stupid court. Please email us your stupid court cases. I want more at ringerfennestyfootballgmail.com. I've got one more here that goes buzzers. I think it's so good. The little box that opened. Oh, my God. No, we got something like that. One more stupid court case here. This is from Dan. Dan. T-bone. I want to ask you guys a question. Hand to God, true story. I was having an argument with friends and one of them said that Joe borough's sack rate was 4%. And I said, what does that actually mean? And he said, one out of every 100 dropbacks that Joe borough has, he's sacked four times. And I said, is that really what a percent means? Percent means out of 100? And now everyone's making fun of me for not knowing what a percent means. But I want to know, do you think everyone actually really knows that a percent's out of 100? Like, did you guys know that? I know what you're doing. And I like it. What am I doing? And I do like it. I did know that. Yeah. I knew that it was out of 100. Yeah. The best part again, Sedan Rolowski went on Pat McAfee and admitted that he at the end of the show, he almost got out scot free, that he didn't know what a percentage was, that he was like, he didn't know that it's out of 100 every time. And there's something about Pat McAfee looking at you, like, you didn't know what a percent is that I think it's like the funniest possible person to be staring at Dan. He's like, what the fuck are you talking about? I almost, it played okay because I feel like Dan, he wasn't even admitting something that he knew was so obvious. It was almost like he he assumed most people didn't really realize that. It was like there was an innocence to it. I actually want to do a poll and I want people to have an anonymous form because I want to know what the number is. I couldn't tell if he was he was saying he didn't know the etymology of percent. He tried to escape on that text. He tried to escape on the technicality list. So what happened was he's like four percent. He doesn't know what that means. He's like four like he doesn't know that means then he tried to like backdoor escape and try to be like so you knew that percent sent the etymology of sent from like Latin is a hundred. But what he really was saying is I don't know what four percent means. That's and I don't maybe a lot of people think that I actually want to know the number. The problem is we can only explain it with a percentage which is I right. We should this is another good category we should do is like the most obvious thing that you didn't know. I feel like we've talked about this a few times. I've got a lot of things wrong. Total. I'll have the time on my head. I don't I can't I can't remember what the most obvious thing that I just purely did not know. We just covered someone in this show live. I'm sure I've got a lot of I mean obviously pronunciations for me is the big one like I called them Sony and share for like 20 a seven years. Yeah there are some things that are like that are named something that I didn't really realize why it was named what it is. Oh I got one this is this is my version of this. I'm not sure I'm going to be mean to Daniel I was actually dumb. Okay this is everything. Glass houses and all that. Yeah. I was at a bachelor party in Denver. Shut up my friend Brandon just Brandon Jenny just had a baby. She knows that's a bachelor party and we're driving through in the back of this like rental car driving somewhere and I honest to God I said the sentence was like what dude. It's mountains. It's a lot of rocks a lot of rock. It's really rocky. What do they call these? Everyone is like the officer. Everyone's tears. That's the first one that comes to mind. Oh I've won. I remember when I was in high school once we were all driving in a car somewhere and I for some idiotic reason we were talking about I think I said this in the show before but a long time ago like animals giving birth and some rabbits came up and I was like well
- Well, rabbits lay eggs. (laughing) 'Cause it's the fucking Easter bunny. (laughing) - Oh my God. (laughing) - Oh, that's really good. - They're all multicolored, too. - Yeah, I'm like, what do we, I rabbits? I mean, well, they lay eggs. - That's so funny. (laughing) - Fuck. - I really like that. - All right, you bill us, I want those, too. - I'll try and take it one, too. - Quick cases and then-- - I'm sure. - Solidarity with Daredeer Lobski. - Yeah, it's easy to make fun of them, right? I want to know what you stupidest thing is. That's really good. - I will say, the one thing that came to mind is we were watching the World Series last year and a guy took a foul ball off like the shin block or was like the elbow blocker. And I was like, is that what that's there for? And Hippas looked at me like I was this dumbest person alive. I can, I still vividly remember the way you looked at me. - Oh, it's crazy that that guards the elbow. What's that called? - It's like one of those things where you realize in the moment how obvious the question you're asking is. And I was like, fuck, why did I just say that out loud? - The truth of the matter is that people say stupid shit all the time. It's just whether you're willing to admit it. - Yeah. Hippas turned, it was like, it was a classic cliche. He turned around and looked at me like, are you really asking that? - He didn't like-- - He didn't like-- - He even like, he could see him internalizing it and like keeping himself from saying something that he would regret. (laughing) - I very vividly remember that. I don't think I've ever felt dumb or, anyway. - I do remember that, that's really good. - I don't remember that. - I was like, is that what that's there for? Oh, fuck. Fuck, that just came out. Yep. - I just kinda can't stop thinking about Daniel Plainview yelling, I sniff it right up. (laughing) I sniff your milkshake. (laughing) All right, email is more stupid court cases. I want more stupid court. It's truly fantastic goodness. All right. Thank you, DK. Thank you, Craig. Thank you, Cam. Thank you, Austin. Thank you, Nikhil. Thank you, everyone for emailing. Email is fantasy court cases. It's still these fantasy court cases. We're gonna figure out what's going on. We're gonna decide the arguments in your group chat. We'll resolve them for you. But we still need stupid court cases. We need stupid arguments. And we'll also take the dumbest thing you've ever, you didn't know as well. Rabbit's laying eggs. Is that what the chat is? - That's an all-timer. - Because of the fucking Easter button. - Did it with a hundred mile an hour pitch. Is that what that was like? - Oh my God. That's so good. - Yikes. What were those? Trivia, thank you, Lord. - Lord. - Lord. - All right. - Okay, you're up. - We are the guilty pleasures, AKA the songs. You'd be a little bit embarrassed to listen to. - This will be your last one because how we, in the 31st of Saturdays, we only have two more episodes. We have this one and one more. So the last two, Rockstar by Nickelback and Diet Pepsi by Addison Raid, DK, you're up. - All right, I'm going with the classic, the divinals I touch myself. You guys might not be as aware of this one 'cause it's like an old '90s 80s song. I don't want anybody else when I think about you, I touch myself. It's like the most hilarious song of all time. - You are selling me just based on the name of the song. I'm like, yeah, that's, you're singing that. - You would definitely recognize it. It's also on the movie Austin Powers when he's trying to take out the fembots. - Oh, we got the fembots. - He's giving off so much mojo that he makes all the fembots tweak out. - Oh, yeah. - It's a banger. - Yeah, it's a banger. - It's really good. - Is that one Britney Spears is in it? That one? - That's the third note. - She one of the fembots later in the series. - Oh, they bring the bit in. She becomes a fembot, yeah. - Right, and she spas out. - Yeah, that's the beginning of the third one. - Right, right, it's like you opening number. - I don't want. Briata Fabats! I don't think I know this, DK. - I don't know this one either, but this is a real like, yeah, you would roll your windows up. - Just DK's like sitting at a red light and blasting the song. He just pulls up next to someone. - When I think about you, I touch my ass. - Come on, front guys, looking over. You said, "Head nods." - It's an earworm song too. It's people are gonna get the suck in their head now. The divinals, I don't know a lot about the divinals, to be honest. - It's actually a really, it's actually a good name for a band name. It's kinda better than the Beatles. - This is just a Australian rock band, 1980. - This song's from '91. - I'm and I'm enjoying it. This is fun. If you put this on today in my drive home. - Hell yeah. - Windows up in the parking garage though, you can't do that. - Like, come on. - Just ripping a fart in your car, putting a song on. (laughing) - That's it, right up. - 'Cause you roll the song, if you're playing one of these songs and you fart, do you roll the windows down for the fart or do you roll them up for the song? What's, you know what I mean? - That's fascinating. - DK, what say you? - You're in the car. - Say that, say, ask the question again. - Let's say you're in the car. - You're in the car. - Well, I guess, are you alone? 'Cause like, are you what? - No, you're not alone. - Let's start with the alone. You're in the car. You fart, it's a bad one. But you're listening to this song. And you're like, you're out of the red light. - You're out of the red light. Do you roll the windows down for the fart or up 'cause of the song? - If you're by yourself, you don't need to roll the windows down. Everybody loves their own brand. - 'Cause you sniff it at all. (laughing) - That's another Austin Powers thing. - Sniffing it up for fun. - All right, analysis. This is like the fat bastard. He's an analysis. - Yeah, analysis, yeah. - I don't have any corn. - Everybody loves their own brand. - You believe that, DK? No, but I think people can take their own farts for sure. - It's obviously true. - Yeah. - If someone else is in the car, I'm rolling that shit down, blaring the music and dealing with the consequences. - It really is funny how true that is. It's like, I feel the same way about hair. Like if your own hair falls off, like you have a, you're like, whatever. Somebody else's hair is like on your hand. You're like disgusted. - The instant it leaves someone's body, it's disgusting. - Yes. (laughing) - I told you, I, what if it's your, all right, let's go out and see what the sense. What if it's your wife in the car? - Well, would you already, if you're already playing-- - I'm rolling that on the windows. - Are you embarrassed? - Oh, that's a good point. - If you're already playing it with her, you're clearly not embarrassed about it. - Fair. - I'm not subjecting my wife to the smell of my own fart. - I liked DK's dance during the, I touched myself on the criminal car, he's like this. - I did play. (laughing) - I mean, there's just, on several levels. That's, you know, that's good. - I don't want a sultry album cover with DK. - What's that? - Sultry album cover. - Yeah. - Permiscuous. - What do you say it was 91? - I mean, it's, - It doesn't look 90s to me. This looks like 70s or 80s. It's album. - Yeah, they're going for the retro vibe. - Oh, I'm looking at the wrong thing. I was looking at their Wikipedia photo. What's the-- - I'm just looking at the album. - I'm just looking at the Spotify. The album is named, it might just be Divinals. 1990, actually. - Oh, yeah. Who knows that the album with the song I touched myself? Yeah, it does have a sultry album cover. - Right, she is, in fact, touching herself. (laughing) - Whoever did that cover. - Provocate it. - Like 300 people right now just pulled out their phones and immediately searched Spotify. (laughing) - And then now they paused to kind of call out the red lights and now they're like, do I keep going, even though they call this out? And they're like, well, it's a podcast. They can't actually see me, you know? So half stopped, half kept going. - Yeah, we can see you though. - Yeah, no. - It goes two ways now, you didn't realize that. You can see it, you can turn the video on for us. We can turn it on for you. (laughing) - Succession, it's like, we're listening. (laughing) - No, no, no, like-- - Right. - We're listening, we hear you. - We hear you, what's wrong with we hear you? - Goodbye, everyone. Podcast Summary
Key Points:
The Seattle Seahawks' trade for Quentin Nelson is seen as a smart, cost-controlled move to strengthen their offensive line and run game, echoing past successful long-term acquisitions like Leonard Williams.
The trade for Nelson, for a third and fifth-round pick, is considered a home run by fans and analysts, especially given the Seahawks’ need to improve their run efficiency and compete in the NFC West.
The Chargers’ offense, under Mike McDaniel, has aged the worst due to poor execution, coordinator inexperience, and a lack of cohesion across positions, resulting in a high interception rate and a drop from preseason expectations.
The Eagles’ fantasy draft decisions—over-reliance on Stakewore, Devonta Smith, and Jalen Hertz—have aged poorly, as injuries and underperformance have shattered early projections, leading to a disorganized offensive structure.
The Vikings’ trade of JJ McCarthy for a fifth-round pick is viewed as a costly misstep, given McCarthy’s contract and the lack of value in fifth-round picks, especially in a market where young quarterbacks are underperforming.
Expectations around Zayf Flowers’ performance were overly skewed by the lack of touchdowns, ignoring his growing role and ability to gain significant yardage, including long-distance plays.
The 2027 quarterback draft class is overhyped, with players like Dante Moore and Archmaning underperforming, showing how hype often doesn’t translate to on-field success.
The fantasy trade for Tramock, Brian, was misjudged due to underestimating his elite receiving demand and impact on quarterback decisions, despite his volume and production being ahead of projections.
Summary:
FAQs
The worst contract extensions are Daniel Jones' two-year, $88 million deal and Alec Pierce's four-year, $116 million deal. Both are now seen as poor decisions due to injuries and underperformance, with Pierce being labeled the worst receiver contract since Christian Kirk and Jones the worst quarterback contract since his own.
The Chargers' offense aged poorly due to poor coordination, disorganization across all position groups, and a lack of trust in the new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel. Herbert lost confidence, players like Quentin Johnson underperformed, and the team struggled with mechanics, pre-snap flags, and run game execution.
The Vikings trading JJ McCarthy for a fifth-round pick is widely seen as a poor decision, especially given McCarthy’s undercontract status and the lack of clear improvement. Fifth-rounders are now considered largely valueless in a market where college pay and development opportunities have increased.
Eagles' fantasy picks like Stakewore Barclay, Devonta Smith, and Jalen Hertz underperformed significantly. Barclay's ADP dropped from RB6 to RB40, Smith's total points declined, and Hertz lost his starting role due to injuries and underperformance, making the team a frustrating fantasy choice.
The Rams aged poorly due to injuries like Devonta Adams and Miles Garrett’s limited playing time, a lack of consistent performance from Stafford, and poor special teams execution. Their once-expected success has been undermined by inconsistency and injuries, leading to playoff doubts.
The hype around the 2027 quarterback class is based on speculation rather than performance. Names like Archmaning, Dante Moore, and Sam Levitt have underperformed, with Moore injured and others showing no clear potential, making the draft class appear overhyped and unpredictable.
