If your bookshelf and your for-you-page are equally important to your personality, welcome home. Pro Society is a weekly podcast that's part book club, part group chat for anyone who thinks pride and prejudice and love island deserve the same level of discourse. Each week we're connecting the dots between books, the internet, and pop culture. With your favorite writers, book talk creators, and plenty of overthought opinions. Yeah, I'm obsessed, so I'm obsessed. Listen to Pro Society on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, this is Hayes Davenport. And Sean Clements. We host the podcast, Hollywood Handbook. Each week we talk to someone in show business and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, Adam Scott, Danny McBride, Ben Stillert, and a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus, or this random dude is offering the ride on his motorcycle. I choose option B. I'm Julie Pignero, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Listen to Solita on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I survived nine months in captivity, and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart, and these are the survivor files. Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable, abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. These are stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the survivor files with Elizabeth Smart on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Our hometown is not a test tube. 90 miles northeast of Nashville, a battle for the future of America, plays out in one small town. Developers with right wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land. We need cities on a shining hill. This is our town. A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment and fights back. I guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you? Listen to our town on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Before we begin, we want to take a moment to acknowledge what's happening in Venezuela. This issue is very close to our hearts, and we're standing in solidarity with everyone affected, and with the Venezuelan community around the world. If you'd like to support, relieve efforts, or learn more, we've linked resources in the description. Venezuela, a summer contigo, locura. Hey guys! Welcome back! It's super early in the morning. We are sipping on our coffee. I've gotten this much, this much coffee in my body since I've woken up. So we're going to be a little slow this morning. But we are diving in today to the cultural phenomenon that has somehow convinced the world to spend their summer watching. Strangers flirt, make-out, cry, couple-up, pull-for-chats, Melanie! It's like a modern trim and show, so people are obsessed because it's just so such a weird social experiment, and we are here to dive deep into it. To dive deep into it. And to discuss how we feel, and why we think so far, I guess. Yes, and we might say some spoilers, so if you're not fully caught up, I mean, I would not- I mean, if you're not, don't watch this, maybe. Yeah. But we're talking from Wednesday, June 24th. So, when this gets put, this episode gets put out, I think it'll be in like a week, so I think hopefully most of you will be caught up. Yeah. Anyways, I'm Stas. I'm there, and this is Better Have. Okay, so explain Love Island for people who don't know. It's an experiment, in my opinion. It's like a show where they put a bunch of singles in an island. They isolate them before, they don't have phones, they don't have access to the real world, so I feel like every day there feels like a really long- Really long? Which is why they get so like, so think they're in love in like a day, yeah. Or they get jealous after like one day, because it's like, I imagine you don't have your phone, and all you have to do is like talk to. Yeah, well, I think they isolate them for like a week before they go into filming. I feel like I saw someone saying that they have like a test run. Yeah, where they practice and practice and like practice, because I want to see where the camera placements are and stuff or something. I don't know, but they isolate them for like a week, then they go in and yeah, it's just like literally a social experiment of dating. And temptation. Yeah. Like they bring in bombshells, like hot new people to stir the pod and see what relationships are real, you know, which relationships won't be affected by the temptation, I guess. So it's pretty crazy, honestly. Yeah, and I feel like the people we've talked to that have been on the show have said that that every day feels so much longer than, yeah, because imagine like for me, like if I have two days and we're also seeing like one hour of like 24 hours. Yeah, someone said, I think it was Beatrice or so when they when they got kicked out of the island, they were saying on their live stream that we only see one hour out of the 24 hours and so many conversations and so much happens that we don't even see. Yeah, they're choosing like this spicy stuff to get us to get us hooked, which is working. Claire has always been working. Cadet, do you want to give us your best? I got a text. Yeah, what would you do? I got a text. That's good, right? That was amazing. I honestly don't even want to go. Are you sure you should try it? It's gonna fun. Okay, it's liberating. Your cup. What coffee did you get this morning? Look at how red I am from laughing from having to do I got a text. So embarrassing. I got a hot extra I get an extra hot, which sometimes I take it to seriously and mine is really hot. I can even have it yet. Almond latte, almond milk vanilla. Like super name sauce. I got it. I spent a lot of time with three shots. I think if you're ordering the medium size, you have to get three shots. The small size is two shots and the large size is four shots. Do you like that better than the one that you make or is it the same? I like the one I make. I think I like the one I make better now that I'm having this because I haven't ordered coffee in so long. Yeah. Like I've been trying to be good because I was ordering coffee every day. I like you. Well, I don't have a machine yet. I don't know which machine to buy. There's so many different ones and different specs. I'm a rebel girl. And now that I have my bravo, I like my coffee more than this, but I needed new beans. So I was like, fuck, I'm gonna treat myself to a little coffee today and order my beans and then they came and they were sold out of beans. So anyway. Well, that's what's in our cup. We are filming really early today because I have a busy busy day after this and so those stars. So we can film again and then tomorrow we have Carter's birthday will be gone all day and then I leave on Saturday for a wedding. I leave on Monday for the Hamptons. And then we'll kind of be gone potentially meeting in London going to Wimbledon. So I mean she is for sure, but I'll already be there. So I might extend a few days depending on how I feel. So basically, we're filming just to get ahead. Yeah. We felt really bad for skipping a week when we were at a town like on our last little adventure. And so because once we leave town and once I get to Europe, it's just like I never seem to want to leave. Right. So in case London turns into I'm going here or whatever it is, you never know. And we just wanted to make sure we had an episode for you guys. So we didn't skip again. Rapid fire. Couple up or stay single. Like in the villa. Like if you were in there. Like I would want to be coupled up. Okay. Yeah. That's good. What about you? Coupled up. Yeah. With someone I like hopefully like a really cute person. Like a fake couple. That would be the goal. Like not a sincere. Not a sincere. Know their body count or never know. I feel like you never never know. I don't know. It's just whatever. Yeah. Before me, it doesn't matter. Unless. Like it's a lot. Yeah, but I think most guys are like over 100. What? Not most guys. I think most guys are like close to my baby. Not my baby. Are you sure? Yeah. Not my baby. Read their texts once or never. Never. Never. Like their phone? No, no, no. I say a way. You say a way of mine. I say a way of each others. The only time I've ever looked through a guy's phone was when I just was so suspicious of him. And I have found out that he was cheating on me. Right. For the most part, I feel like if you look, you'll find something that you're not proud that you're not happy about. You're gonna see that I talk to two people and it's you and Tyler and Kylie. Instant chemistry or slow burn. I love an instant chemistry. Mm-hmm. But not like a less like I don't want it to be like a lustful. But like I need the chemistry. The chemistry. Yeah. I want to continue to talk to you. Because otherwise you're just like my homie. Right. Public relationship or private relationship. What do you think? I think there's a difference between like being public and private and like protecting your relationship. Mm-hmm. Like it's like you
aren't hiding each other. It's not like, oh, I don't want to be seen with you, but it's like I want to protect what we have. So what's the answer? Public, I guess. Like, you can show glimpses of your relationship. You don't have to, like, so many people will love to show some people just, like, I feel like my last relationship, I just showed so much, so quick. And I think now moving forward, I would be, I would be like more protective. Protective. Yeah. Will you rather be dumped unexpectedly or slowly faced out dumped unexpectedly? Don't phase me out. Don't waste more of my time. If you don't know that you want to be with me, just break up. Just break up with me. That's why I'm like, when people cheat, I'm like, if you're not happy, just break up with the person. But some people don't like letting go. They want their cake and to eat it too. It's not just the same. Yeah. That doesn't make sense. It's the same because if you're gonna buy the cake, you're gonna eat it. Why are you buying the cake to us in decoration? No, you're buying the cake to eat it. So of course you want the cake by the day. By the day can eat it too. Yeah, I guess you're right. Does it make any sense? Someone please, please clear that up. Would you rather know every time your partner found someone attractive or never know? I would rather never know. I think it's just like, take your thoughts babe. Yeah. Who's one person you would choose to narrate your life? Morgan Freeman. Matthew McConaughey. Perfect. Really good answers. It was like right at the top of my brains. Okay, you guys, we watch Love Island every day. We try to do it together. If not, we're on the phone. If not, we talk right after. Yeah, we have a group chat that we started last summer. Last year. And it's still going. We were just like, oh my god, this is our one-year anniversary. The cat has stayed called Love Island all year, even though we were talking about summer. I turned pretty and we were talking about off-campus. We never changed the name of the group chat. I was always called Love Island. It's like 15 girls. Only girls. And it's like so. So fun. It's so fun. So we talk on it every day after the episode. We are just obsessed. It's also like something to look forward to every day. I know. That's why I love it. We want to host After Sun next year. We're manifesting. We're manifesting hope hosting After Sun. Can you imagine us comment? You guys flood the TikTok comments on Love Island's page on the After Suns and say we need Vic and Sauce next year. We need Vic and Sauce please please. Please. That's like we're manifesting. It's going to happen. We're going to. I want to do like the walk-in slow motion looking back. Oh my god, we have to have like coordinating outfits and I will have to get extensions for that. Yeah. Okay. Perfect. So everyone was pissed that we gave away the euphoria ending with no warning. So this is again your spoiler warning. Again, this is going to come out like a week after we film it. So unless you're seven episodes behind, you can watch this. This is back in Casa Amor days. We're still in Casa Amor over here. Have you ever had like something be spoiled for you? Yes. What was it? I saw the Nate dying before. Me too. And I was like, okay. Well clearly he's too busy and he has to film other things. You know what I mean? It wasn't like that serious to me because I just I can make it. It's fine. Yeah. You know. Yeah. What about you? I think the thing that comes to mind which this is going to be a spoiler if you haven't seen the movie South Pa. Have you seen South Pa? I've seen South Pa. Like I did the first time I watched it. I didn't know that the wife dies. Yeah. Rachel, my god. I'm so. And I was showing the movie to someone and someone said, I can't believe she dies. And I was so pissed because I was like that once she died, I was like in such shock in the movie because I had no idea. I didn't watch the trailer and I wasn't expecting it. Yeah. And then I was pissed. Do we think TikTok ruins things if you're not caught up? Like if you don't watch the day that it comes out, you just see every house of the dragon. I haven't seen House of the Dragon. I don't know if you're on. I'm on House of the Dragon TikTok right now. No, no, no, no. Maybe because I watched that episode. Finally, but I was like, oh my god, if I didn't watch that episode, this whole thing would have been spoiled because I didn't read the books and I didn't know what happened. Oh really? And something crazy happened. Really? I don't even remember how we left it off though. So like the last season ended with the dragon eating the other. Do you remember like the two sons? Oh my god, yeah. Because one of them killed the son. Remember one of the dragons ate the little. Yeah. And then they wanted justice. Yeah. Son for a son. Back in the day, they were brutal. Anyways, back to love Island. But yeah, TikTok be ruined and everything. Like we saw the Alana drama on TikTok. Bang both brothers. I cannot believe that. Yeah, I hooked up with your brother, but like I'm still into you. So where they look like so similar. They do look really weird. And just like, why would you, like I would be like immediate echadal? Like oh, let's just go homies. Yeah, like let's be friends. Yeah. I couldn't date someone that Sophie's been with. It's not happening. Sorry. I mean, I think I guess, I mean, if you're young and you're like, these people are like 21, right? They're not looking to me. I guess you're right. These people are just like, they're for a good time. And like if, if they just like made out one time, like, now we're changing that mind. Whatever. Because we're thinking, like, we're older and we're thinking like, oh, yeah, I love my life. They are on like a date and a reality show. And she's like, I guess she said that they just made out. Right. So like, whatever. And like, we make, hey, this is Ace Davenport. And Sean Clements. We host the podcast, Hollywood Handbook on the big money players network. Our show is extremely accessible the first time listeners each week. We talk to someone in show business, aka the biz and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Everyone has a good time. And no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman. Not that great. Actually, can you help me pick? Can you help me shape this? How about we flip it on his head? How about we flip this around? Okay. What is the surprise one then? Actually, you think it's the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird. Adam Scott, this entire time you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show. I would never let go of that. I have. I would never set expectations for something like that. If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I am open to it. I'm always going to accept. You know, Danny McBride, fine. Yeah, saw this fragile masculinity exuding. I could smell it walking on the hallway to be honest with you. I was like, I was like, exactly. No, it's fragile masculinity. Ben Stiller, no. I think there's a lot of times in out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is. Like, you're like, oh, it's so stupid. Everyone's so dumb. And fake. Right, fake and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my life. I don't care about your life. And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode. But he's just so busy. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the I Heart Radio app Apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. If your bookshelf and you're for you page are equally important to your personality, welcome home. When I was 14 years old, I was kidnapped and health captive for nine months. I survived and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart and these are the survivor files. You just remember this low taunting voice next to my ear saying shut up, don't say anything. Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up, without a doubt, he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced, but these aren't stories about what's taken from them. Their stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the survivor files with the Elizabeth Smart on the I Heart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. - Our town is small taters by most standards, right? But to the people who grew up here, it's everything. - What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America? - Developers with right wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area. - The first thing you see when it pops up is pioneers in Appalachia. - But they weren't just planning houses. - We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life. - Stop right there, is that normal? - A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment. - God need men to rule, great! - And decides to fight back. - Do not use my hard work to sell your bull (beep) - They're not just opposing what's being planned for here. - Our hometown is not a test tube. - They feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire administration. - Guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you? - Listen to our town on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. - Go. - Yeah. - So like, what do you want, girl? - You know what, we take everything back. It's too early. - Okay, wait, we also have to say we are obviously so obsessed with watching every night and we had this idea. We'll just see it and kinda plan to the whole thing. - Yeah, orchestrated. - Our friend is opening a sports bar and it's not fully open yet and just seen went for like the soft launch and she was like, oh my God, we need to watch Love Island here because this would be just so amazing. And we planned this whole night. We went to the sports bar and it was truly the most magical experience ever. We were like, this is how guys feel when they go and watch an important game at a sports bar and they're so hyped up with each other just growing it out and we were screaming at the TV. It was cause a more night every, like now we're like every big episode. We need to watch at a bar. - Like, movie night, we have to move. - Movie night at, you guys, it was so, imagine like thousands, well not thousands, but like 20 TVs all playing in the island. - All playing with Island. - We're like in booths. Everyone was just as committed as we are which made it really fun 'cause like we all felt all the emotions together. - We were like jumping out of our seats and running in front, like, it was so fun. - It was so much fun. - Like, it's hard not to watch it like that again. - I know. - Like, I played it in bed last night and I was like falling asleep and I was like, oh god, this is not the same. - It's not the same, it's not the same. - It's so much better to watch it with someone. - With a friend group that, you know, that love set us more to studio. - I wish Donnie like that. Donnie, like, cannot stand. - It's like, this is what you the fuck you guys are watching. - And I'm like, yes. - It's exactly it, babe. - I don't know if I would like being in my bikini every day. - I would have fixed my bloated. Imagine like, if I'm eating grilled cheese. - I would need a lymphatic, a reward day. - I would need a lymphatic, our nails, our hair. - Like, it just makes sense to do something. - All those girls, they like don't get bloated. - I think they started giving them manicure pedicures. - Yeah, maybe. Unlike their off days, 'cause they have off days. They have some days where they can't talk to each other. - Yeah, and like, when they're having lunch, they can't, they can't talk to each other about the show. - Oh, they show. They can't like, they can waste the tea when they're not like being filmed. - It's pretty crazy. - I need to go to the villa and like, just walk through it. - I just want to do a better half trip. - Oh my God, in Fiji, oh my God, okay, we're at the love island video. - We're a little drunk and we're like, imagine about the video. Imagine we take a better half brand trip and we like film it like, love island. And we have like a bunch of cute girls and a bunch of like, we said gay, so it was fun. Wait, but now I'm making out. Just a fun trip, but we film it like. - Wait, then there's no making out. - Shit. But more like a fun brand trip and we just film it like love island. - We're sleeping like the beds together. - We'll do challenges, but they won't revolve around fucking second toes and making out with each other. - You guys, I'm not putting anyone's foot in my mouth. - That would be so, so fun. - What would be your love island outfit? - Definitely need some swim shorts. - I would like like baggy basketball shorts. Little bikini, kilo hot, it would look cute. - We would look so cute, are you serious? - That's so cute, like, please. Yeah, I would need some like, something baggy. - But how do people sleep? - I was like, for me sleeping is so like, you know. - But I see people like bring their masks. - Yeah. - But I would need like, let me sleep Zana. - Yes. - I mask. - Can you take like your mask? - My vagus nerve spray. - Can you take your tan? - Can I wear your tan? - To get me to sleep with all those fuckers in the same room as me? - Right. If someone like breathed weird, I wouldn't be able to sleep. - But that's what I'm saying. How do they? - Ear plugs, I mask. The whole thing, hoodie over my head. AC needs to be at 68. - I know, but I don't know. Can you bring your electronics in love Island? - Or like you're-- - Anyone from love Island? - You're let me sleep. Like can you bring sleepy medications? Like if you can't. - I would not, I would be so tired of it. I wouldn't sleep. - I mean, I take two of me sleeps every night. - And what's the temperature in the room for sure? - Yeah, I wanna know. - Is it cold? Is it hot? Do you guys get to choose what temperature it is? - Are you a bench watcher? Are you watch episodes per night when they drop? - No, I watch where we're at. Because I don't wanna get, I don't want things to get ruined. - Yeah. - I'm too excited. I'm 13, six o'clock, down on the day, sat down, watch the islands. - What's your favorite islander? - Probably Trinity. - Trinity is like the fan favorite. - Trinity, you're not gonna cry last night. - She misses Bryce. - She misses Bryce. - She misses her too, so I'm happy they realize that. That's good. - I mean, I saw TikTok don't quote me on this, but it said, this was the first time that a couple has both cried and caused them more about missing each other. - Aww, it's really cute, honestly. So like they're gonna, we think they're my win. - Yeah. - It's given Trinity and Bryce for the win. - For the win. - They're just cute. And who's your least favorite islander? - Sincere is annoying. - He's just a liar. He says one thing, acts the other way and then says the, like he just needs to make up his mind. But I don't know if that's the edit we're seeing. - Yeah, like what is that dude? - He's getting a bad edit. - He might be. What do you think? - I mean, I guess we'll never really know. - Yeah. - But he did say he was missing Melanie at Casa More, right? - Yeah. - Him and Bryce were talking, so maybe he just needed like a little. - So do you see yourself getting along with outside of the villa? - We will be out with Melanie. - We would be out with Melanie. - Melanie is fine. - Melanie is fine. - What do you think? What do you think? - I'm just obsessed with Trinity. - What do you love about Trinity? - I just think she's such a cutie pie. I think that she's just like genuinely her and like is being very vulnerable and talking about her feelings and what she's scared of. And I think she's carrying herself very well. - Yeah, she's real, she's honest. She took her time with Bryce. It wasn't like right away. It was a slow burn for them for sure, but slowly, like per episode they come to their realization that they really like each other. They both explored, but in a respectful way, I guess. - Yeah. - And they keep coming back to each other and they just, I don't know. They're like friends and lovers. Which I feel like that's kind of the whole point of the experiment is like they both have said that they're not typically what each other goes for in the outside world. And so the fact that it's like, you know, they met and they're having this great connection that they're also testing and then have realized, like wait, you're not someone I would typically go for, but I keep wanting to come back to you, like the personality and everything that they just like each other a lot. So the heart rate challenge for those of you who don't know the heart rate challenge is when they were this like monitor and then they're all sitting by the fire pit and the boys and girls they both do it come one by one and basically dance and kiss and whatever their moves are to try and raise the person's heart rate. And then they reveal at the end whose heart rate got raised the most by which person. So if your partner's heart rate was raised more by another person than you, what would your reaction be? - I don't know. Like I love Island partner, I would be like whatever. It's like I would like her. If it was like my real partner. - No, not your real partner. - I would be like whatever. - Yeah. - I guess, like this is all hypothetical if we were in love. - This is all our sober. So like I would not be mad unless they gave me alcohol. If I was drunk, I'll be like, what the fuck? But if I was sober, I would be like, oh, whatever is the challenge. - Yeah. - I don't know if I would care that much. I don't know if I would care that much. - I don't think I would care that much either. - I'd be like whatever. - Because it's like. - Also like what's testing the heart rate? Like they have an Apple watch? - What is it? - I don't know. - I'd be trusted or is it just like staring the pot? - Or even the pot. - Obviously there's so much making out on camera. - Yeah. - How confident are you in your makeup style? (laughing) - Confident? - But like, I don't know. I would hate making out on camera. - I would hate making out on camera. I also just feel like, I don't know why. Every time they're making out with someone, why do I feel like they're so aggressively pushing each other's faces and slopping all over the other's mouths and chomping each other's lips and it just seems so aggressive that we constantly scream at the TV. - Yeah. - They're eating each other's faces, it's too aggressive. Also there's like no background music, I don't think. - No. - So it's like the challenge is, yeah. - And dancing and quiet and doing all that thing with the music? - With no music. - That is so. - And doing a challenge with no music. - How do they find confidence? 'Cause I would just have none. - Speaking of the music, do you not think it's so funny that every time there's like a scenario that has a music playing, there's a song that fits perfectly. - Well, do they write these songs in the show? - No. - It's like, I think we should take a break. - We should take a break.
And I'm like, "What?" I'm like, "Okay, I just want you to hold me." "Hold me!" And I'm like, "What?" I'm like, "Are they writing this in AI?" I don't know. They're real songs. They're just really good at finding that for each moment. It's not that I find it. Honestly, they deserve an award just for finding the songs that fit so perfectly for each moment. I don't like it. I want you to hold me. I don't like it. You can see when Saul kissed Gabriel, Gabriel, and she did not like, she was like the fair mone. Oh, yeah, yeah. That was crazy. I would hate that if that happened. Someone said that. I would cry. I would cry. "Henzies." "Henzies loves." She loves to do the splits. "Henzies will split all day long." She's pissed. She's pissed. She's happy. She splits. They said she was a dancer. What kind of dancer is she? I mean, not flamenco dancer. You have a signature move. Like, can she split? Like, twerking, like randomly, like, "Oh, twerking." Like a little twerk. But like, we twerk all the time and we're like, when we bought a kid back, when our food tastes good, like we, you know, a happy twerk, but like a quick five second twerk. I, honestly though, if I knew how to do the splits, I would be split in like, else. I kind of split all the time. Oh. Can't see. I split sometimes. You used to split. I don't have you split. I don't split that much anymore. You can, you're flexible. Like I can split. I used to split in high school, so like, that was a wrap. Casa Amor is one of my favorite parts of the show because he's just like, sometimes people get to compliment their couples, like, this season specifically. Everyone was like, almost like, close off. Like, cordless. So, came over and she was like, "Hello." Like, no one knows me. So Casa Amor is when they bring the boys to a new house with a bunch of new girls and the boys to the girls' house. Yeah. So, they test the relationships. And they're like, no speaking. They have to just test the connection with these new people. Yeah. But it's in the crazy that, for the most part, the girls are so loyal. And this year, they gave the girls 12 guys and the guys six girls because it takes only, the guys only need one girl to turn their head. They don't need much. But girls, like, we're, I guess, you know, have higher standards. Yeah. It's a pickier. We feel more. We don't think about. Actual heads, nodder, PPs. So, yeah, I think the girls got double this year, which I liked, but they did better. And they're still missing their men. They're being so cute. But the girls this time got to see, which never really happens. They got to see a live stream of the guys going to Casa and being the heart rate challenge. So, they got to see the guys during the heart rate challenge and the things that were saying to each other. So, that was about-- I'm not coming home. I'm bringing someone back. Yeah. So, the girls were like, wait, what? How they-- so, then, they switch from, like-- 'Cause usually, I feel like the girls don't really, like, explore that much. They'll explore and they'll be fun and like-- They hang out with the guys. They hang out with the guys, but they're, you know, girls are more loyal. Yes. So, when they saw that, they were like, oh, hell no. We're really exploring now. Exactly. Which was-- I'm happy they showed them. Because the production knew that those girls were going to be loyal. So, they tried to, like, show them how the guys were being behind their backs. And classic. No surprises. No one. How they acted. Men. Men, men, men. Casa more is our favorite. And then our next favorite that I'm so excited about is movie night. That's when they get to see how fucked up the development being towards each other. 'Cause obviously, they're being filmed 24/7, and they have no idea what's being picked up for TV. Yeah. But also-- Or how they even look on TV, by the way. Yeah. But also, one of-- or, like, one of the people that we know that has been on it, say that the cameras are so hidden that they forget that they're being filmed sometimes because of cameras. Like, it's not like a camera crew is holding a camera. Right. They're just like-- They're like literally like-- Like, it would be like that one. Right. So we're having a conversation thinking we're being sneaky to-- I always forget this movie. I know. And there's one in the hallway, too. Okay. So Stas, we're basically on the island. Like, we're literally-- But basically-- Yeah. They're so hidden that, imagine, every day, you just kind of, like, forget about them at some point. So people are having, like, organic or, like, girl conversation or, like, let's say, you're a person. I got to-- someone recorded, like, some of our little parallels. We would be screwed. We would be in so much trouble. In so much trouble. That's what we can go in there. Because I'll be like-- fucking serious. So that's why, like, a movie night, a lot of conversations get exposed. Yeah. And then the drama. Between the girls. Between the girls and the guys. Between the guys. Because the girls will be-- Which they haven't really done the season, which is good. Well, except, actually, never mind. Kenzie. Kenzie with Jenna. Yeah. Jen. Right? Yeah. Kenzie. She's going to break down to a split when her-- Yes, yes. She was so pissed. She wasn't in the top three couples. She was pissed. Because, by the way, when they do, like, when it's just America voted, and they say the top three couples are X, Y, and C, whoever's not picked, it's like, damn, like, what is America seen? That I'm not picking. So it's also like a psychological game. These people are spiraling. Like, I want to become-- Also, they probably-- they're all probably fighting. They know how last season went. So they all want to be America's favorite, you know? Yeah, but even. I survived. And I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart. And these are the survivor files. I just remember this low-taunting voice next to my ear saying, shut up. Don't say anything. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed. And I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. But these aren't stories about what's taken from them. They're stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the survivor files with Elizabeth Smart on the iHeartRadio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. If your bookshelf and your four-year page are equally important to your personality, welcome home. I'm Eli Rallo, and every week we're connecting the dots between books, the internet, and the conversations everyone can't stop having. I'm going to have to look up this story, I'm obsessed, I'm obsessed. It's like if you can hide some real messages inside compelling characters, and that is the Trojan horse, whether you're looking for literary deep dives, smart pop culture conversations, or a community of readers who love to think a little too much, you're in the right place. Listen to Pro's Society on the iHeartRadio app Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, this is Ace Davenport. And Sean Clements. We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook on the Big Money Players Network. Our show is extremely accessible to first-time listeners. Each week we talk to someone in show business, aka The Biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Someone has a good time, and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, not that great. No. Okay. What is the surprise one, man? Actually, you think it's the straight man, it's actually the one who's acting weird. I have. If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it. I'm always going to accept, you know, Danny McBride, fine. Yeah. It's all this fragile masculinity, exuding. I was like, is that what you need? Nope. It's fragile masculinity. Yeah. Ben Stiller, no. I think there's a lot of times out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is. Everyone's so dumb. It's fake. Right. Fake and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my life, I don't care about your life. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the iHeartRadio app Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcast. I choose option B. I'm Julie Pinero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous
to book your first trip. I hope you listen to Solita, on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Our town is small tapers by most standards, right? What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America? Developers with right wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area. The first thing you see when it pops up is high nears and apple etchum. But they weren't just planning houses. We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life. Stop right there, is that normal? A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment. God need men to rule great and decides to fight back. Do not use my hard work to sell your bulls**t. They're not just opposing what's being planned for here. They feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire administration. Listen to our town on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In the last season I feel like nothing will top that one season. The Leah Rob, Miguel. That was peak love Island. I feel like that was the first season I really watched. That was the best one. Actually, that was the one I got I tapped into because I think I started Casa Amor. I don't think I watched it from the beginning. I think you were watching it and we were saying how good you were saying how good it was. And then I started literally at Casa Amor. Which is the best episode? Okay guys, we didn't say this. If you don't watch it but Casa Amor, they get to bring either bring back a new couple. Oh my gosh. So when they spend they spend the few nights testing the connection. Let's say three, four nights. Three nights. And then the guys make a decision are I'm going to come back to the villa with bees and they don't know what the other what their father is choosing. Right. So either you get a go back single and like hope that your partner is also saying no to the Casa guys. Right. It's single and you guys get back in a couple together or you're bringing someone back and she doesn't know if you're right. If she is or not either. So it's like, I feel like I said no. But it's it's quality TV because you're like you feel for the girl. Like let's say the girls stay single for their guys and then the guy comes back with the girl and they're walking slow motion in your heart. And do you remember when like Miguel Cordell? Yes. Like all of them. And Serena was like that was that was like one of the greenest scenes. Yeah. When they watched the boardwalk. Yeah. So good. Oh, you guys it would be so fun to be on the island for like a little bit. And they were all just so disappointed. So like they girls were like it will be us though. Yeah. Like I would be pissed. But I wouldn't like I don't know. Oh, I would. No, I would be pissed. I would be like fuck you. Fuck you. I'm done. I'm leaving with you. I'm out. Bye. Do you watch last nights, right? A little. Yeah. Did you see all the the challenge? Yeah. When like the the couples were fighting each other. Yeah. So basically they had this challenge in Casa where it's like the Casa House versus the villa. The girl staying in the villa. The guys go to Casa. And so basically they have this challenge where they put all these like it's like almost like the sex dice in like a spinny roly thing and you reach in and grab one and it says like suck like whatever. So they literally have this like meter that like raises for a house spicy you get or whatever and who wins. And they were like sucking feet. The girls were making out with each other like it was just orgy. It was so crazy. Me and Justine were like screaming not being able to look at the TV. Lindsay was here and she was like what the fuck is going on? Because what do you have to watch the show? And she was like mortified and we couldn't stop screaming and it was just like that's why I couldn't I couldn't do that challenge. No no no no no. Like put your foot so far away from me. I would not touch anyone's disgusting. I don't like feet like that. I don't know. Hell no. Hell no. There's like a clip of someone's foot. Did you see the thumbnails? Yeah. They were like raised. Oh okay. It's like communal showers. Like I don't know. It's disgusting. Someone said that the villa was not clean either. Like someone that really? Yeah. The villa is not they have production people that come and clean and do the dishes and stuff but it's like not like squeaky clean. Ew that's disgusting. I also love Keta. Yeah I love Keta. I forgot to say that. I love her. I think she's so pretty. What are your thoughts on Keta's class of boys saying he doesn't have social media? I think obviously not having social media as a guy is an amazing. Yeah. I would love that. Yeah. We know you are. I would love that. But she's like green green green green red bag. So that's good. But I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I love Keta. I don't know how I feel about this man. Yeah. But I also don't know if I want her with Sack. Yeah. I'd rather have her with the Sack I don't know. Because Sack looks like a little toxic. He's always like whining. Yeah. Have you noticed? He's always whining. He's like let me test the connection but then like she's like let me have a conversation with someone and he like freaks out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's kind of like giving a little toxic. Yeah. We don't like toxic love over here. But she's so pretty. She's so pretty. Like so easy to see her on TV. You know what made me so sad. Yes. Yeah. Caleb. You guys we're rooting for Caleb. So we love Caleb. He's so cute and precious. He's a baby though. But he's so cute. And why is Corbin always trying to take the girls. But also like I cannot I need someone to come and want Caleb wanting him and being obsessed with him. He needs to find love. Like he can't get kicked out of the villa. Uh-oh. I'll be pissed. He needs someone. He's such a nice guy. He's beautiful. He's so tall and gorgeous and has like the Southern accent. He needs like a cutie pie. But Corbin is just he's a lust. He loves just like and he likes that girl. They have great chemistry. Yeah. But how is that not fair that she they de-empt like she's slitting to his de-empts and they were gonna like work out or whatever. Right. Right. Okay. She wants to fuck him. Of course. And she probably will. We'll probably see that happening soon. Do you think that when he was when he like acted like he didn't remember? Yeah. Like her sliding into his dm's or him sliding into hers. Whatever. I don't remember exact red flag. But do you think that he was like clang like that he didn't remember? Do you think he actually didn't remember? I actually have no idea. What do you think? I don't know. I'm just like obviously like if he didn't remember. Actually. But he's a dog. You can tell. That's what I'm saying. That man is a dog. I would be like you. You don't remember that we de-empt about working out together. Right. So he won't be de-empting everyone. Like spamming. Girls. Comment if you've been de-empted by Corbin. Oh my god. Please call me if you've been de-empted by Corbin to work out. I don't know. He's like you can tell like he's just a red flag. Yeah. He's so sweet and so cute and great good-looking but he's not down to commit. Yeah. From what I've been seen. Right. Yeah. I agree. Anyways. Casey also exploring. Casey is exploring. But Casey wanted that. But you guys sexual tension. Casey had no one step in his door and he wanted and I had to like him so bad and she like didn't like him and then all of a sudden she started liking him. And now he's at casa and all like these two girls want him. I just think he wanted yes but he also wanted like that chemistry like because I think him and I are like so like locked in but not like. But like they're more like it's giving more like it's a giving romantic to you like he wants to like I don't know. It's giving like he was missing the sexual chemistry with her. Yes. And now he's having the sexual chemistry and it's like oh I like that's obviously important like to feel like oh I want to kiss you and I want to hug you and I want to touch on you and love on you. And people like to be desired. Yeah. And I think he probably feels so undesired from the beginning like imagine no one standing in front of your door. I actually would have to walk up to the side. Imagine no one. No one stood in front of my door. I would walk out. Like that's just I don't like when they do that. It's mean. It's so mean. It's only like in school like I don't like it. What are they gonna cry? I know. And Casey is so beautiful. He's so cute and he's probably and this is what me and Justine were saying last night is he's probably like he's such a cutie pie. He's probably so used to like getting girls on the right side and then he gets in the building. No one picks him. No one picked him. It's fucked. And then now he has this girl who like has seen him and was like so sure. She was like I want him. Mm-hmm. But he's so he's beautiful. Yeah. Like yesterday he was looking beautiful. So glowy. And I thought I'd talk that said like if he didn't if only he didn't come in that pink suit. Maybe some right. Right. Like he should have done the white tank. Yeah. Oiled up like cool basketball shorts. They're all like addresses and suits and he's in a white tank. Oiled up. Hey Matt. Well maybe not oiled up. Just like moisturized and like like how he looked yesterday and like them with confessionals. He looked gorgeous. He should have done that. But anyways yeah I would hate not being picked. I would be like right. What? I would be so. Also like on and billions of people are watching you get rejected. That's not nice. That's not nice. So yeah it's one big social experiment and we're obsessed. We're obsessed. Call us Hooked. Just see him was like oh we're hanging out with Corbin and Miami. Oh wait. We're gonna see Corbin. Last time we were talking about everyone we're gonna hang out. We were like oh yeah we're going to Franky's and sing Melanie Bliss. You guys. We're in Malibu girl. We're seeing everyone. Frank, he put us in that group chat with her.
- Oh, Miami, Corbin, what's up, where are Miami, Corbin? - Trinidad, come on, Trinidad, come on. - She's gonna be, Trinidad's gonna be gonna be going harder, TikToks. - Yeah. - Oh my God, we were like, how many, who's gonna be in Carter's TikToks? - Carter's TikToks, 'cause he always be catching people from whoever, like a popping show, quickly, too, quickly. - He works, quick. - I told Seth, we should have someone from La Violin on here, since this goes on all summer, we should have like, someone come in, come in, who we should reach out to. - Yeah, like who is someone that you guys wanna see? - But I need to ask the right questions, like, what was the temperature in the room? Can you take your leg off these leaves? - Like, how do you like clean? - It's a clean, are the towels, - Do you get manicure pedicures? - Yes, are you giving fresh towels, like, what's the suitcase situation? 'Cause I know that those suitcases are empty, when they're like, we're on in with this suitcase like this? - Yeah, like, I need to know, is there music in the challenges, or is it quiet? Like, there's questions that we need answers to, and only an Islander could give them to us. - Yeah, so, comment down below which Islander you wanna see us with. I would love nothing more than to grill an Islander. We'd be like, we have questions. - We have questions, like, I don't even think you look at any other one. - No, I would have to look at you through the mirrors and talk to you. - It would be like, rapid fire. What is this? - How many times do you brush your teeth during the day? - Yeah, like, after, I would need to be like, ugh, like, brush before you make out with multiple different people. - Also, in the morning. - Making out with multiple people a day. - But please, does saliva from other people is deposited in your mouth? - Me and, just seen, we're laughing. Like, what if there was like, like, we saw on Twitter. Huge mono case breaks out in love Island Villa. - Ew, ew. Yeah, I'm sure that like, they get tested for like, all that stuff, right? - I think they have to. - Also, another one of my questions that I'm intrigued is when the girls are waiting for the breakfast, how long does that take? Because imagine there is like one little pan. - You get hungry in the morning. - Imagine like, I'll have to wait like, for everyone together breakfast and I'm like, last that day. Like, how annoying, you're just, and I think they keep all the girls. Do you see when the guys went to Casa? The girls finally went down in their PJs and A breakfast downstairs. - Yes. - So their pimple patches on them, bonnets. Like, I love that episode. These girls are probably like, farting in pee. They're like, ah, we're in our PJs. Like, it probably felt so nice. Maybe I'll just make my breakfast. - Make my nice, you're cold, right? - You don't know how to make fucking eggs. - Your eggs are cold, you're breakfast here with us. I don't know how to make scrambled eggs. Like, I don't know, crack an egg in a bowl and twirl it and put it on the pan and make sure. - But you know what I mean? Like, I would love to just have breakfast in my own. Make my own breakfast, being in my PJs, my pimple patches, like, they have to get kind of cute for the man. Like, they have to get like, their booty shorts. Like, you know, when they go to bed at the beginning. - Yeah. - Anyways. - Anyways guys. That was our love Islandie brief. Thank you for watching.
