And the economy, she's right. Everybody's pissed off that he didn't deliver, but it's no surprise to us that he didn't. He's a con man. He's a grifter. Now they're realizing the same thing. All right. And then moving along here, Judge Bloch's Trump's effort to rig the midterms. And this is going to become fever pitch between now and November. Pop this up. Mark Elias, top election lawyer in the country, says breaking a federal judge in Massachusetts barred the U.S. Postal Service Friday from advancing new mail voting restrictions that, if carried out, could leave vast numbers of people unable to cast a ballot by mail this fall. This has disaster written all over it. This is headed to the Supreme Court. That's where it's headed. And what's not said in that piece is the fact that even if they ruled that the implementation of this rule was lawful, they still don't have enough time to do this. It's going to send everything into chaos. And so this is going to be one of those cases that we've talked about here that makes its way up to the shadow docket, the emergency docket. And we're going to see what the Supreme Court does, because if they rule in favor of Trump and every indication is that Trump thinks that he's got this issue won. If you if you notice that he the Postal Service continues to implement this policy, even though it's not been declared legal yet by any court, they still move forward with it because they think in their mind and Trump does, hey, this is going where we know it's going. It's going to go in my favor. Keep moving forward and we'll see. It's going to be a huge play as it relates to our elections. I mean, this issue right here is one for everybody to watch if you care about free and fair elections come November. Josh, what do you think if the Supreme Court rules they've already shown that they are an anti voting body? They are trying to make it more difficult for people to vote, i.e. by getting the Voting Rights Act. If they do this with the United States Postal Service ballots, a lot of elderly people, even our senior citizen president votes by mail. What what kind of there's no legitimacy left with the Supreme Court. But at that point, if we if they start Robert starts tallying up all of these no votes for you. No votes for you. What do you think the Democrats should they get both houses, Senate and House in the midterms? And then we get a Democratic president. What needs to be done about the Supreme Court? It seems utterly insane. These people aren't elected. A lot of them appointed by presidents that didn't even win the popular vote on any journey using Uber. There's been a lot of talk about reform and adding 13, a total of 13 justices to the court has been one idea. But the biggest problem where we sit as lawyers, as attorneys, is that this body, the Supreme Court has no oversight at all. No ethical oversight that they're subject to. Myself as a lawyer, I'm constrained by the rules of professional conduct governed by the American Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Association. They live on their own island. They play by their own rules. They set all of these rules and parameters themselves without any any kind of meaningful oversight. And so when you look at real reform, what does that look like? Number one, expanding the court to be more reflective of the citizens of this country. You look at term limits so that you don't have an 85 year old justice up there making decisions that's just simply profiting off of his time. You also you bring in somebody that can oversee the ethical issues associated with guys like Clarence Thomas that are just flat profiting off of decisions they make before the court to where there can be a meaningful system of checks and boundaries and also bring them up for impeachment if you if you think that they violated the law, like actually do something. So that because it's. It's so preposterous. As you mentioned, they've destroyed the Voting Rights Act. Don't you think this is bound to happen when we set up systems where we give the Supreme Court so much power, where every every other person on the planet has some we have some form of the social contract with our jobs, accountability with the law, etc. And then we set up this institution that we say is the law of the land and these lifetime appointments. It seems so antiquated and so dilapidated. And they're allowing Trump. They're kind of like, yeah, we're down with all this. Here's Trump is now whitewashing America's history of slavery. Washington Post is reporting the Trump administration has removed language criticizing a memorial to the Confederacy, formerly located in Arlington National Cemetery, part of its ongoing effort to reshape portrayals of the Civil War. Josh. Well, let's start from the preface. The preface is that Donald Trump is a liar. We know that. Let's look at one six with what he's done to whitewash that story that so so none of this comes as a surprise. The surprise here, if anything, is that people don't see Donald Trump for being a racist. He's a racist. He's dating back to the 70s and 80s with his own actions. He clearly doesn't want he doesn't want the clear history of our country to be told truthfully. He does anything he can to build a narrative and change his set of facts like the truth is not a friend of his. You and I know that. Yeah. All right. And then this is what Trump is using the civil rights department of the DOJ for. Pop this up. There's been no evidence to support that there's any voter fraud in our elections. And if you notice, I think it was a while back that they made an announcement, they're investigating voter fraud in California. I think there was an announcement about that. And what they're doing by planting those seeds in the public is that they're building a narrative, like a pretext for them to be able to go in and challenge these elections later. There's no truth to any of this stuff. This is complete gaslighting. But what you do when you gaslight someone is you have a press conference, you have a U.S. attorney or someone in the Department of Justice say, we're investigating voter fraud. I think they did this in California. It then allows you to build the narrative. It then allows you to run with it. And you have outlets like Fox News and other media outlets that pick this story up and report it without any sort of fact-checking because there's no voter fraud. This has been looked at meticulously. If you remember back in 2020, leader of DOJ Bill Barr said, I can't find a goddamn thing. I can't. I'm sorry. And then, of course, he got his ass in trouble for that. Well, even the Heritage Foundation, which is just absolutely a horrifically evil, anti-woman, anti-American think tank, and I would call it an unthink tank, a stupid tank, they did their own investigation. And our elections are free and fair. But I think the through line here is Republicans are always the ones claiming all this. Republicans are always the ones claiming all this. And I think the through line here is that's number one the second thing uh republicans as you pointed out have zero policy and so when you have zero policy how are you going to unite your base what you do is you find a boogeyman you find a straw man you can rally around so you see this in the bullshit female trans issue in sports uh that they prop up you know and so in other words when we've got nothing to say when we're getting beat at the polls let's go beat that stick let's go beat that drum that we know is going to resonate all of our base to come together whether it's guns whether it's hating on african-americans whether it's homosexuals whether it's trans athletes and women's sports whatever it is that's the kind of shit they talk about when they can't talk about policies when they can't talk about the economy and they can never do that because they don't have policies all they have is hate i completely agree with that and speaking of politicians um that don't seem to be doing the work for the people and this is obviously a republican problem but in the democratic establishment we have some problems um as well and the senate minority leader chuckles chuck schumer's daughter just landed a new job pop this up open ai hires senator chuck schumer's daughter to work for the artificial intelligence corporation and so we have reported on this podcast for quite some time that chuck schumer and hakeem jeffries the leaders of our party are in bed with the same lobbyists that are funding fascism and that feels like they can't be on our team when they're also collaborating with fascists and this is just another prime example and i'm hopeful that if the democrats win and it is a big blue tsunami that some independent-minded democrats in the senate and in the white house and in the white house and in the senate and in the house say we are so sick of the seniority bullshit we want to be uh untethered to corporate interests we want to fight for the people um because this the democrats are doing well at the polls right now despite chuck schumer and hakeem jeffries despite their leadership is what we're saying and and so as as a long-time progressive democrat uh i look at guys like chuck schumer and i think how can you stand on any sort of record the democratic party in the last four to six years has been a disaster it's time to overhaul the leadership it's been especially for for guys like us even in middle america or on the left coast right coast wherever uh people are pissed off and he's just he's part of the problem he's in you know he he doesn't he take apac money and all this stuff like all of it and all the same clubs and groups that all these republican are in it's the same it's it's the democratic version of what trump is he's exactly like trump but he's like hey you know we can we we're not going to dismantle gay marriage and uh we think women should have the right to choose but other than that when you're carrying the water for big tech which needs to be completely regulated i mean the government's position with dealing with this ai monster that is looming should be one of more bernie sanders like let's moratorium let's investigate let's have um regulations on this new technology but instead they're just racing to grift off of it and it's so um devastating when you realize and i think a lot of americans have you've before long before i ever did listener but i think a lot of americans since kamala lost have been really disgusted with the democratic party's ruling class and how patronizing they treat their voters um and i think chuck schumer and um hakeem jeffries both do this i think we need new leadership i think that if there is a blue tsunami i think there should be a revolt in both the senate and the house and um put somebody in there who isn't taking corporate pack money i don't think that's controversial i just i do not think that's radical i do not i think it's far more radical for chuck schumer and hakeem jeffries to be taking money from aipac and taking money from big tech and taking money from big oil etc and then looking us in the camera and saying hey i'm fighting for you it's like no you're not it's the exact same thing now he's more aligned with our policies he's not on true social you know tweeting you know 30 40 tweets from 2 to 5 a.m about crazy batshit stuff but in many other ways he's just like donald trump he's part of that same club the same problem yes he's more aligned with us he's more empathetic toward the causes that we like but the guy is is failed in his leadership for the democrats nobody can look at the democrats and say for the past three four or five years they've had good leadership that's insane that's crazy nobody's gonna look at those two
