Trump SCREAMS After It BACKFIRED

This has backfired in a spectacular way on Donald Trump. I really don't think that anybody in the White House imagined it could have gotten this bad, but it has. And I think that they're going to fold within the next week. It's going to be overturned. So of course, as we know, Donald Trump has banned certain media outlets from the White House. That includes CNN, MSNOW, and Politico, with possibly more to come. That's at least what Donald Trump and the White House have said. And so that's an unprecedented attack on the media. And in response, the media has launched an unprecedented response. Major TV networks, ABC, CBS, Fox News, even, Fox News, and NBC have agreed to suspend their pooled coverage of Donald Trump after the White House blocked CNN and others from its duties, which effectively means that Donald Trump is not going to be on TV. And you know that's going to drive him nuts. So I want to break down this story for you. We'll talk about all of it and more. Please make sure to subscribe down below. So, of course, this all started when Donald Trump put out this insane statement on social media September 18, 304 PM, because Natalie Harp showed him a video of people talking badly about him on TV. And that's true, according to the reporting. He said, "I am proud to announce that effective immediately. I am banning fake news CNN, MSNOW, who recently changed their name from MSNBC and Politico, the recipients of an illegal and ridiculous $8 million-- yada, yada, yada, conspiracy, conspiracy-- from the White House as a result of their constant fake reporting, media outlets shouldn't be able to constantly write or report fiction and lies when they're covering the president of the United States, the Trump administration, or the United States of America. Other fake news media outlets to follow. Thank you for your attention to this matter." Now, there's so much wrong with this. It is obviously an attack on the First Amendment. But, you know, the irony is that he thinks that CNN and MSNOW and Politico are attacking the United States and writing lies about the United States when, number one, even if they were that is protected by the First Amendment, but also, number two, he has media outlets like Breitbart in the White House. Breitbart, you know, the people who have pushed conspiracy, after conspiracy, or associated with Steve Bannon. Like, you know, there's no consistency here. There's no actual focus on the facts, but rather just a focus on who's favorable toward Donald Trump. So, this is obviously a really crazy thing for a president of the United States to do. You know, Barack Obama and Joe Biden never kicked Fox News out of the White House because they were reporting badly on them, and in many cases, actually lying about them. And so, the media has responded in their own way. And it's actually really nice to see that all these major media companies, including Fox News, which I thought was quite surprising, is saying, "We won't stand up for this. We won't stand for this attack on the First Amendment." Major television networks on Monday agree to suspend their pooled coverage of Donald Trump after the White House refused to allow CNN to serve as a pool representative on Monday. The move is an extraordinary escalation of an unfolding showdown between the Trump administration and the White House press corps, which began last week when the president bar journalists at CNN MSNOW in Politico from entering White House grounds. Despite Mr. Trump's years of lawsuits and threats against the news media, our drive-al-news networks have rarely undertaken this kind of collective action, but these five networks, ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC, have long shared the responsibility of providing television coverage of presidential events, splitting the financial costs and distributing footage that is carried by news organizations worldwide. So they've actually worked together kind of behind the scenes. I mean, they are kind of all rivals, Fox News speaks badly about CNN, CNN speaks badly about Fox News, whatever it might be, but they actually do work together behind the scenes and whatever your opinion is of that process, it is the case that that has been what's been going on behind the scenes, and now they're all working together to oppose this president. It kind of just seems like everything around Donald Trump is collapsing because I wonder if they would have made this same decision like two years ago. You know, when Donald Trump first got into office, if he barred CNN and Politico and MS now, do you think that Fox News, for example, would have said, man, we're gonna suspend our coverage, probably not, but the tides have really turned against Donald Trump in many ways. So it is extremely unusual for a president to travel or hold public events without being accompanied by representatives from the television pool. The president's activities on Monday are still expected to be covered by print, radio, and wire journalists along with still photographers effective today. The TV pool will not be covering events designated as pool coverage of the president, Brian Bowton, the Washington Bureau Chief at Fox News, wrote in a note to television pool members on Monday, which was obtained by the New York Times. As follows, the White House's position, preventing CNN from fulfilling its assigned pool duties, there will be no replacement pool put in place, all other pool coverage will continue as normal. They also said that we will provide updates as the situation develops. Now look, at the beginning of the video, I said, I think they're going to fault. I think that maybe this ban on the media is going to last a week, not because Donald Trump has had an epiphany. And he believes, you know what? I actually think the first amendment is really important. And I care about press coverage, even if it's negative toward me, that's the beauty of the first amendment. I don't think that Donald Trump has had an epiphany, but rather him not being on TV and not being able to speak to the American people in the way that he normally does by ranting and raving to Fox News or whatever it is. That's going to bother him the most. And I'll give you an example. Today, Donald Trump had his unveiling of the helipad at the White House that he built that nobody wants. And nobody could hear him because the press pool wasn't there and there were no microphones. So he was essentially, and I mean, literally, speaking into the wind. And I want to show you the clip because it is embarrassing. And there are three different angles I want to show you, actually, one where a news nation host, or newsmax host, excuse me, newsmax host, the right and wing news network said that Donald Trump's decision to bar the press has backfired on him. But I want to start here with Charlie Cotton with TMZDC giving us an example of how you just couldn't hear Trump whatsoever. (trimmer buzzing) Well, you can see him speaking, but nobody can hear him because the pool isn't there. Or this one might be my favorite angle. This is from Aaron Rupar covering the newsmax coverage of this, saying Trump is holding an event at the White House right now, but there's no audio because the press pool isn't there. The newsmax host notes that this is an example of Trump's attacks on the press backfiring just a little bit. Check this out. Yeah, there. (trimmer buzzing) Okay, so there is no microphone because there's no microphone because the pool cameras aren't there. So maybe Tim, this is one example of it backfiring just a little bit. Pick up on some of the things Michael was saying and obviously the ramifications are right here. Can't hear what the president's saying. See, this is why I think he's gonna fold. Not because again, he believes in the first amendment because of this. Embarrassing moments like this, which have already gone viral. I'm, yeah, this clip already has 3.8 million views. It was posted like two hours ago. It has 3.8 million views because of how embarrassing it is. And I think that's why he's going to fold. Donald Trump, his whole thing is attention. He loves the cameras being on him. He loves him being able to speak to the TV in the media and they cover it and whatnot. And so him not having that, I think in his mind is worse than having the media talk about him in a negative way. But we will see. We'll see if this plays out in the way that I think it's going to. You can let me know your predictions in the comments. But here's the final angle I want to show you. This one is comical because this is the White House livestream. Like the White House themselves were covering Trump's event. And you just can't hear him. (dramatic music) (car engine roaring) Like nice job, numb nuts. You have Marine one in the background, all riled up, the helicopter. You think anybody can hear you? He's so used to having the press pool there. Look at him, what a, I'm gonna bite my tongue. No, they can't. No, they can't. The microphones are not there, the cameras aren't there. And so you're just looking like a buffoon who's literally, as I said, speaking into the wind. He's actually speaking into the wind. And the White House is, of course, still defending this decision. They actually just put out like a opinion piece, a written piece on the White House website that says White House access is a privilege, not a right. And they essentially rant and rave for pages and pages about why Donald Trump is right to make this decision. But people like Brian Tyler Cohen are pointing out that press freedom is literally a right in the first amendment of the Constitution. It's right there. You actually don't have to read the Constitution for that long to get to the part where it talks about freedom of press, which I know might be challenging for Trump and maybe his megabuddies that whole reading thing at reading for extended periods of time. But you don't have to read that far to find the protection of the first amendment. And Donald Trump has also justified the decision as well. This was the other day. So before the press pool decided to pull out entirely, but he was asked, he posted that you intend to ban CNN and Politico MSNOW from the White House. Trump said, I do too, much more so than you in terms of him protecting the first amendment, which he does not. How do you justify? And then Trump says because they're fake news, which is so contradictory of what he just said, protecting the first amendment. Fake news, even if you don't like it, is protected by the first amendment for the most part. So anyway, I mean, just a really embarrassing day for Donald Trump. And in the midst of all of them, chaos. It is actually nice to see ABC, CBS, Fox News, and NBC align with their CNN colleagues, MS now and whatnot. It is a good thing and it's a moment of unity that is quite rare in this country, especially from Fox News over there who you really wouldn't expect to be on this list.
