Trump Retreats to Mar-a-Lago as Democrats Take the Offensive Ahead of Midterms

The transcript critiques Donald Trump’s foreign and domestic policies, highlighting a stark contrast between his low public turnout in Kentucky and former President Obama’s strong support in Manchester. It exposes Trump’s rhetoric as mocking working-class Americans while he retreats to Mar-a-Lago to rally wealthy oligarchs. The narrative emphasizes serious failures in the Iran conflict—such as the destruction of U.S. military bases, ongoing drone attacks, and the denial of military victories—contrasting with Trump’s false claims of success. Figures like Senator Ossoff and J.D. Vance are criticized for downplaying these failures and avoiding accountability. The text also details widespread allegations of corruption, including ties between Trump allies and foreign entities, and the ongoing suppression of the Epstein files. Border policy is condemned for using military force and private detention centers to detain migrants, with Trump and his allies accused of scapegoating immigrants. Public outrage is growing, supported by polling showing corruption as a top concern. The piece concludes with a call for accountability, noting that upcoming congressional investigations—especially under new House Oversight Chair Garcia—will likely uncover systemic misconduct. The broader message is one of national disillusionment and a demand for transparency and justice.

No one showed up for you in Kentucky. An empty arena for Donald Trump in Kentucky contrasted with former President Obama's speech in the UK in Manchester, where over 23,500 people showed up. This is Trump's worst nightmare. Look at the contrast here between the Trump crowd yesterday in Kentucky and the crowd that former President Obama drew a few days ago in Manchester. So Donald Trump had to rush back to Mar-a-Lago to spend time with the oligarchs. Remember, Donald Trump was mocking the people of Kentucky. This is part of his stump speech now, or whatever you want to call the deranged rambling that he does. He goes, so even if I gave you all $5,000 in a Trump dividend, which he's never going to give anybody, he's lied about that over and over again. He goes, maybe you would just be able to afford one hamburger at Mar-a-Lago. And maybe a piece of cake. It's like laughs and mocks the people who he gives these speeches to. It's ridiculous. Then he runs back to Mar-a-Lago. You see him there with all the tech billionaires and other oligarchs. They're all hanging around there and they're just clapping for him. Really? Because guess what's about to happen when Democrats take control of the House and the Senate? I got a feeling that you're all going to be smacked with some subpoenas pretty damn soon. I don't know. I'm watching this disgraceful scene last night in Mar-a-Lago as Trump and the oligarchs take their last gasp right before the midterm as they're plotting, though. Here, play this clip. A short time ago, you were a dead country. We were a dead country. You go back two years, we were a dead country. And now we're the hottest country in the world by far. There's nobody close. So then you have Donald Trump. He's actually asked a question in front of these oligarchs. So can you explain why you issued this waiver regarding the, and by the way, it's an unlawful waiver, regarding the Lindsey Graham Sanctions Act against Russia, where you said out of national security, you're going to waive the law requirement that Russia be sanctioned more. And then you're doing a diesel deal with Russia. Watch what Donald Trump says. And he's also like, and we're, and we're, we're beating Iran too. We're beating Iran. Can you tell us about your decision to waive the sanctions on Russia? Say it? You don't know what my decision is yet, but we'll figure it out and you'll figure it out. But that's a very good decision. And it's going to be a decision that's good for the country. And I think that for the world, because we're really at a world stage. And the Iran war is going on. It's going very well. We have a lot of very good things that we're seeing. And the country is doing phenomenally well. These are some of the biggest business leaders in the world. And we're having a little dinner together, Mar-a-Lago, and we look forward to it. But I will tell you that there has never been a time where our country is so advanced. And some of you are at the leading edge. Some of you are in that particular business where it's a leading edge. We're not beating Iran. Iran has defeated the United States military. Just an objective fact. The U.S. military bases in the region have been destroyed. The closest U.S. aircraft carrier is 1,000 kilometers away. The Trump regime has now caused the United States military to run out of 20 years or 19 years worth of interceptors. The Trump regime is out of weapons right now. And Iran continues to strike tanker after tanker. Iran continues to strike tanker in the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman with impunity. And don't even get me started on Ansar Allah continuing to strike in Saudi Arabia, the massive regional war there. In any event, while Donald Trump was ranting and raving like a lunatic, Mar-a-Lago all last night with the oligarchs. Did you catch this? You had Senator Ossoff give an incredible speech in Georgia where he addressed basically Trump and the corrupt oligarchs who are there. He said, to take the stand, put your hand up and say that you're going to tell the truth, the whole truth, because we're subpoenaing you. Watch this. Let's play it. And then there's Marco Rubio committing 1.6 billion of your money to back the Trump boys mining interests in Kazakhstan. Did you hear about that? Pete Hegseth steering hundreds of millions of Pentagon dollars to back Don Jr.'s magnet investment. Venezuelan oil money turning up in Qatari bank accounts. Because see, they are literally the elites they pretend to hate. And here's the bottom line. If you're involved in any of this, next year you'll be raising your right hand and swearing to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. So help you God in front of the United States Congress. Also, Senator Ossoff talked about Donald Trump's demented speech in Dalton. Play this clip. Now, remember, they also talked about Donald Trump's demented speech in Dalton. Play this clip. Now, remember, they also promised peace. Instead, they plunged us into a war they don't know how to end or how to win. The biggest foreign policy debacle since Iraq and another war based on lies. Remember, last year they claimed Iran's nuclear program had been obliterated. Do you remember that? And then this year they claimed that same nuclear program posed an imminent threat to the United States. Both times lying. And now remember, on day four of the war, day four, the president declared victory. On day 11, Trump said, quote, the war is very complete. That was day 11. Day 13, quote, we won. Day 21, quote, getting very close. Day 32, quote, leaving very soon. On day 40, the president declared, quote, total and complete victory. Today is day 232. And yesterday in Dalton, he promised again the war would be over soon. He claimed again Iran's military had been destroyed. And he said he would rename Hormuz the Trump Strait. And he said again Iran's military had been destroyed. And then you have J.D. Vance giving an interview with state regime media, CBS. And it's like a town hall style, somewhat like CBS's version of Tallarico's kind of town hall on CNN. But this is on state regime media, CBS. And so J.D. Vance is confronted by the husband of a U.S. service member killed in the Iran war. And Vance asks, what's going on? And J.D. Vance says, what's going on? And J.D. And J.D. Vance acts like he has no idea that anyone died or no idea what the husband of the service member who was killed was talking about. What he's saying clearly is what's been widely reported, that the U.S. military bases were unsafe, that Trump rushed into this war. The military bases did not have anti-drone technology. They were not fortified against Iran's weapons. That everybody on the bases knew how dangerous this was. It was so close, it was exposed, and it was a predictable consequence based on the utter maliciousness and recklessness of Trump and Hegsip and Netanyahu and Vance. But watch how Vance answers this here at Playlist Club. With us in the audience tonight is Joey Amor, whose wife, a U.S. soldier, Master Sergeant Nicole Amor, was killed in March in an Iranian airstrike. Joey, the floor is yours. God bless you, Joey, and thank you for your service. Thank you, sir. and her. Mr. Vice President, my wife, Sergeant Nicole Amer gave her life on March 1st, 2026. I am damn proud of my wife. As you should be. And the five soldiers that stood next to her that died alongside with her. Excuse me. Take your time, man. Take your time. They raised their right hand and they gave an oath. They understood what they were doing. They understood the sacrifice that they were potentially giving. You understand that oath. I understand that oath. There are now six families living in a nightmare. It is a hard price to pay. Though the Iranian drone was the weapon that killed my wife, there were a lot of mistakes and a lot of fundamental failures that led up to that. I believe CBS has reported on that. My wife has told me things before she passed. There are other soldiers that know things that are being quiet about certain aspects of this. There's a failure in the leadership and I want to know how this administration is going to start holding those leaders accountable for the actions and the deaths of the soldiers that we honor and that we love. So, Joey, first of all, look. I owe, and the whole country owes your family, a debt of gratitude that is quite literally impossible to repay. I won't pretend that anything that I say is going to make it better or easier, but I hope it helps a little bit to know that your wife was a precious human being who served her country honorably and I'm never going to forget about her. I'm never going to forget this conversation and I want to continue this conversation offline because that raises the second point. When you talk about failure, failures that we were implicated, the administration, the Department of War, whoever you want to say, was implicated in, I want to know about that stuff because if there were failures, and I don't doubt there were, I just, literally the first time I've heard of this is this conversation. And to his credit, you know, the CBS host here was asking some okay questions. He says, I've got one big question. Why haven't we won decisively against Iran? Now, that's the kind of, the framing is generous would be putting it lightly. It's not that we haven't won at all. Like not decisively, not a little bit. We've lost, we have lost. And I'm not saying it because I'm rooting for Iran. I'm saying it because it's the truth. We have to accept the reality that Trump and Hegseth and Admiral Cooper, they had no plan. And they got, you want to know like when Trump's like, we kicked the shit out of them, you know, he curses like, I don't know. We kicked the shit. No, no, Iran did that to the United States military and Trump's got no plan. Trump's been a lifelong loser who bankrupts everything. And he's doing it again. He's bankrupting our military. He's bankrupting America's reputation. Like he bankrupted all of those casinos 'cause he's a lifelong loser. He's a sex predator. He's a disgusting piece of trash. And we see it at play here. Watch J.D. Vance respond to the question about why haven't we won decisively? Mr. Vice President, the war in Iran has gone on much longer than I think a lot of people expected. Certainly people in the administration. I have really just one big question on Iran. Why haven't we won decisively? Well, Tony, I would say in some ways we have won decisively, but the Iranians, you know, the enemy gets a vote here and they have responded in certain ways. And so to step back a little bit, why did the President of the United States do this? The President of the United States did this because he believes it is very important. I think he's right. I think most people here would agree, and if they don't agree with all the particulars of the policy, to say Iran, the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, cannot have a nuclear weapon. That would be a- - The next question that J.D. Vance was asked is that a poll found that corruption is just as big of an issue for Americans as the economy right now. It's the number one issue. Does J.D. Vance care to comment about what you've observed? - Bravo. Just moments ago, before we came out, I had a question. - Go ahead. - I had a question. - Go ahead, go ahead. - I had a question. - I had a question. - Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead. - Before we came out, that found that corruption was the number one issue on voters' minds, even more than gas prices that Keyshawn was talking about. Another poll found that even half of Republicans believe that Donald Trump's personal business interests are affecting his decision as president. And what that all comes back to, I think, is the question of, have you seen anything inside the White House, when it comes to corruption, that makes you squeamish? - You're asking, has Donald Trump's decision-making been influenced by his-- - No, I'm asking, have you seen anything? - I've never seen anything like that. - From anybody inside the White House. - I've never seen anything like that from the president. Certainly, I mean, look, in Washington, D.C., people are constantly trying to get an edge. It's something that I've complained about in Washington, D.C. for a long time. You see K Street lobbyists, who have tried to get meetings with me to advocate for a particular issue, and I won't take the meeting or the president won't take the meeting. So yeah, you certainly see evidence of corruption in Washington, D.C. Do I see evidence of corruption from the president of the United States? - From the administration. - The administration is taking? No, Tony, I just don't. I think that there's a lot of allegation out there, and there's a lot of stuff where, frankly, I've read these articles, and I've read the superficial summary, and I say, oh, that doesn't sound right. And then I go and do the investigation myself, and I say, wait a second, what they're saying the president did, or what they're saying the president's son did, he didn't actually do. - Now, back to Senator Ossoff over here, who talks about that speech that Trump gave in Dalton, and Senator Ossoff, talks about how it was a much smaller crowd than the crowd here today. Play this clip. - Now, maybe you saw Donald Trump was in Dalton yesterday. Oblivious to the collapse of his presidency. - Yeah. - A crowd smaller than this one endured two hours of senile babbling while the price of oil hit its five-month high. Now, remember, they promised to lower prices on day one. Instead, under the failed President Donald J. Trump, it costs more than ever in America, and it cost more than ever in the history of American history to fill up your truck, stock your fridge, visit the doctor, or power your home. They promised to drain the swamp. Instead, it's the most corrupt administration of all time, and everybody knows it. Everybody knows it. And while the crook president, and his crook family, and all his friends from all over the world, you pay more for everything. - By the way, I gotta give a hat tip to Congress member Garcia, who leads the House, the ranking member for the Democrats in the House Oversight Committee. Congress member Garcia will become the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and he's done an incredible job pushing forward the investigation into the Epstein files. So here, he was speaking at a MAGA stronghold in Huntington Beach, in California. It's like a little MAGA enclave over here, but Garcia was rallying this crowd, big crowd for Garcia over here. I want you to watch what took place. Let's play this clip. - I wanna share with you why this is so important. There are over a thousand women who at the time, many of them were children, who were raped, trafficked, abused, abused by a monster and his co-conspirators and friends. At this moment, half of the Epstein files, 3.5 million documents have not been released to the American people in the Congress. So when the president calls this a hoax, when the president tries to hide the files, when he is engaged in these single, largest coverup, it's much larger than Watergate ever was. He needs to understand that we will not stop until we get the truth and we get justice for the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein. - And then so throughout the night, you have Donald Trump making deranged posts like this on the White House account. Trump and Republicans delivered 170,000, $70,000 per illegal alien. The true cost of radical Democrats, mass amnesty, open borders, and generally, say words. You're just saying words. No, y'all sent ICE and Border Patrol Gestapo to round up people, mostly who have no criminal record at all. You tortured children. You tortured people. You threw people in cages. They're still in cages. There were all these private detention centers where the Trump oligarchs are making billions of dollars So taxpayer money, as we speak in these concentration camps, to torture migrants right now. That's happening right now. The Trump border patrol Gestapo sent military into the streets, invading states. So don't get, you know, people aren't buying this crap right here. By the way, J.D. Vance was asked about that as well by someone who actually voted for him. And why are you scapegoating immigrants? And J.D. Vance, again, just doesn't have a good answer for it. He's like, well, if I didn't articulate my position carefully enough, you're going to play this clip. There's another voter here who's concerned that your immigration policy has been swept up into this broader anti-immigrant sentiment. Niv Agaram is here with a question. Hey, my name is Niv. My family and I immigrated here about 20 years ago and I became a citizen about five years ago. So you were the first person I voted for, actually. Oh, wow. Congratulations and welcome. One reason, because of the reasons you just mentioned, I was concerned about border safety. As in the trafficking and the drugs, not because I think immigrants actually take away jobs from Americans, but after seeing ICE behave like military police and you recently call H-1B visa workers foreign indentured servants, I think Americans are anything but safe. So I'm just curious, why are you scapegoating immigrants for the issues you're supposed to be solving as a vice president? So, Niv, first of all, I appreciate the question. And I would say, and to the extent that my rhetoric has been imperfect here, that's on me. There you have it, everybody. Let me know what you think. Hit subscribe.
