Trump Goes on Shocking Racist Tirade at Rally | Morning Shots

Donald Trump’s political momentum is collapsing amid a sharp decline in public approval, with disapproval reaching 63% and a significant gap between Republican and Democratic messaging. The Republican Party is failing to address Trump directly, allowing Democrats to position the election as a referendum on his leadership. Trump’s recent rallies in Kansas and elsewhere are marked by exhaustion, disorganized messaging, and a reliance on divisive rhetoric targeting Muslims, immigrants, and Democrats—such as Ilhan Omar and Rashida Taliib—demonstrating entrenched bigotry. His foreign policy positions, including claims that Russia has been "fine" on Ukraine despite ongoing civilian attacks, reveal a profound disconnect from reality and a deep sympathy for Putin. The administration’s threat to cut off intelligence sharing with Ukraine, followed by devastating strikes, has raised serious concerns about strategic betrayal. Even key Republican figures like Marco Rubio are now challenging Trump’s narratives, exposing internal fractures. The party’s failure to present a coherent, positive vision for the country—despite economic hardship—undermines its viability. As the midterms approach, Trump’s declining energy, erratic messaging, and moral failures suggest a deep institutional crisis, with the potential for a significant Democratic wave. The broader implications extend to U.S. foreign policy, especially in Ukraine, where the administration’s inaction and deception risk deepening international distrust.

Hello, everybody. Welcome to morning shots live coming to you live this morning from Atlanta, Georgia, which is where Bill and I are we're here in advance of a different live show the bullwork live show in person live show at the eastern tonight, which we're excited about. It's going to be a fun time. Come hang out if you are, if you are on if you're local, if you don't have tickets yet, grab a ticket, come chat with us, come see the show. This is going to be a little bit, I mean, perhaps it'll be our best ever and smoothest ever show. It's possible it'll be a little bit of a rocky show. We are, you know, we're trusting to the hotel Wi-Fi, the gods of connectivity, all of these things. Also, I was up way too late last night because I went with a couple of colleagues to go see the new Nathan Fielder movie, which turned out to be great, but also didn't really think about the logistics of a 930 showing for a three hour movie. So that's all going on as well, but I don't know, Bill, we're just two weeks out now. It's all kind of coming to a head. And I think the president is out of time. We've been kind of saying this. I remember writing, you know, a year ago in the 2025 lead up to the 2025 midterms, or sorry, the off-year elections and the immediate aftermath of those, wow, you know, Democrats did great in all of these. Trump has basically one year to recalibrate and set things on a more sustainable path for him and his coalition going into the midterms. And instead, he made everything a whole lot worse in a whole bunch of different ways, obviously most prominently with the Iran War, and all the energy prices that have come up since then. But he, I mean, they're out of time now. The cake is baked, basically, Donald Trump is criss-crossing the country like a maniac, trying to put something back together here and trying to gin up, you know, ring some level of enthusiasm out of his core core base, so at least they'll show up at the polls and make this hopefully less of a blood bath. But I just wanted to kick things off with a couple of clips here before we get to a little bit of Trump on the campaign trail last night when he was in Kansas. But let's do just a couple of vibe check moments real quick. First of all, I want to throw up this chart. This is just an image that shows who's talking about Donald Trump on the airwaves right now, and this is pretty striking. Donald Trump is the Republican Party. He believes himself to be the Republican Party. He himself wants this election to be a referendum on him, but when you set aside the ads that he was spending the government's money on, and you just look at what the actual candidates are doing, Republicans are hardly bringing him up at all, and Democrats are hardly talking about anything else. It's pretty clear just from the spending who has the advantage when it comes to actually putting Donald Trump in front of the American public and reminding them what he's up to. And then I also wanted to play this clip. This is from Mike Lindell, a livestream he did with some supporters yesterday. He is obviously the mega conspiracy theorist par excellence. He's the my pillow guy. He ran for RNC chair on a platform of getting rid of all mail-in and early voting, and he's just one of Trump's biggest conspiracy theory boosters when it comes to election integrity stuff. Here's Mike Lindell talking last night to some supporters about the vibes right now. Another question. How was the president doing it? How are you doing? You look tired. You look fucking exhausted. I'm not going to lie. You're my parents, but you do. And I know every time I see the president going up and talking, I see he seems really, really exhausted too. That's my question. And take take care of yourself. Please. He looked about the tires. I've seen him. He was very. And I don't I don't want to say the word down. He never get him and we don't get down, but he did seem. But he got to realize he's on these rallies. I mean, he just just one after another after another. Bill, how are you feeling about the about the president's, you know, Mojo about his his level of energy these days? Are you like Mike Lindell concerned about him getting a little down here here in the closing stretch? Well, first of all, let me begin by saying that Andrew did not have to go to this movie at night. He was 30 last night at JVL in Sam and I have upped back to the hotel from this friend ice dinner we had, but you know, the young guys he can't get to under control. So Andrew and who was, I don't know, a couple of you guys went right Katie. Katie Loots and obviously, yeah, you know, yeah, I do guys all had a good time, but you know, some of us got up early to write morning shots, but I'm glad you had a chance to, you know, I got up early to write morning shots too. That's the problem. Well, that's right. You should know anyway. Yeah, you know why Andrew's fine. Don't have any sympathy for him. He's great. And I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. You know, Trump, I like the idea of complaining about Trump's, he's just working so hard. He doesn't have to speak for an hour, 30, 7 minutes at pointless rallies. He doesn't have to go to the pointless rallies. He maybe he could, he loves them because this will give him so much sucker so much, you know, reassures him that that's what he enjoys about the presidency that and, you know, damaging Washington DC and and thinking up, you know, ruining the White House physically. And so, and then sucking up to Putin, that seems like that a lot too. But yeah, so I, I mean, I don't have that much sympathy for Trump being tired, but no, he's clearly lost. I mean, it just makes a difference if you're at, I don't want to, we got huge challenges and problems ahead, both in the next two weeks, but then really in the next two years, and you can do huge amount of damage. He is right now in so many ways, center, center, center, having said that a president of 36, 37% is just so much weaker than a president, 50%, especially a president whose whole appeal and even control within the party was that was his, his, his political skills, demagogic skills. It wasn't like he had other presidents, you know, had an agenda that was compelling, they were identified, we wanted to huge issues anti-communism, some rights, whatever, and you kind of, okay, he's not so popular personally, maybe that, you know, the, the cause could be compelling. That's not really the case with Trump unless you believe in authoritarianism and nativism and bigotry and all that. One hopes that that doesn't get you much above the, the mega base of 30% or so. So now it is pretty striking that I think he's, he's, he's gone down as much as you say in this last, in this last, in this last year. I mean, I, and I would say that, that wonderful chart you showed about the users of Trump by Democrats from Republicans. I just was all preceding my contribution and warning shots yesterday where I said Democrats should run on Trump because, but they obviously came to the same conclusion Republicans did too. I mean, here's just the simple fact that came out of the, it's evident in many polls that I, I used to postpone over the weekend to show it Trump's approval disapproval is, you know, 37, 62, 63 something like that. So that's Trump is minus 25, let's just say that out of approval disapproval. The generic ballots plus a plus 10 for Democrats. So the degree you can take the generic ballot and move it towards the Trump approval disapproval. That's what Democrats need to do and they can't move it all the way obviously because there are a lot of Republicans who will say I just broke Trump. But I'm still voting for my Republican Congressman Senator who I voted for before and I think he's okay. He's not really as bad as Trump. But if you can make it a referendum on Trump, if you can say the only way you can express your disapproval or make your disapproval of Trump meaningful, they get effectual is to vote for a Democrat for Congress. Even if you don't love the Democrats, you don't have to vote for the forever, you don't have to marry the Democrats just a day, you know, but if you can, if you can give it just two, three, four percent of the more of the people, a wave turns into a real tsunami. So I think the Democrats are being intelligent Republicans are being intelligent enough and trying to run away from Trump, but it's awfully late. And the Democrats are being intelligent and I think in trying to push that generic number closer to the Trump disapproval number, if you want to think it that way. Yeah, yeah. No, I mean, it is hard. I mean, the Republicans, nobody kind of put a gun to their head other than Trump himself to sort of force them to spend all of 2025, you know, just completely lying down and giving Trump everything he wanted on every single day. And he wanted on every single policy issue and doing essentially nothing else, only to then sort of turn around in 2026 and try, at least from a narrative point of view to put some distance there, but it's not like they even did anything, you know, real this year, other than just stop talking about it nearly as much. Even, you know, the leadership of the Republican Party, you know, not these individual candidates, but R&C Chair Joe Grooters all along has said, you know, we're right or die with Trump and he's the only guy who can carry us anywhere in the midterms. I've not heard him, you know, move, move away from that position one bit. There is almost, I don't know if, if a pathos is the right way of putting it, like it's just there's something like kind of sad and poignant about, as you say, nobody's making him get up and do these 90 minute. Stimwinder's night after night after night, but like he's up there, he's still having some fun, but like he's exhausted and it's not working and, you know, the crowd is like, you know, I guess he's riling them up in a way and, and, you know, and giving them enthusiasm in a way, but it's almost more the opposite. It's like these are the real die hards who are showing up to like try to pump some of their own energy into this old failing president, and it's, I don't know, it's just the, it's a weird, weird energy to see out there. Let's talk a little bit about, you know, Trump himself again. We have one of these to talk about basically every time we come out here because he's doing so many of these rallies these days. He was in Kansas last night, Park City, Kansas, not a place a Republican president would like to have to be rallying the faithful two weeks before the midterms, you know, one of the reddest states in the nation. Typically speaking, but Senator Roger Marshall is weaker than expected there. It's obviously a very blue environment, but Roger Marshall himself has had some difficulties. scandal, some op-o research that has come out on him that he has struggled to deal with. A lot of it has to do with his time as a private practice doctor and OB-GYN when he was practicing in Kansas with medical bills and the pretty aggressive way he would go after repayment of unpaid medical bills, clean op-o head, I don't know what he's really supposed to do as a private practice OB-GYN by the way, I feel like he should probably get paid for that work, but that's okay. It's a clean political hit. Donald Trump weighs in on this last night. He comes to Roger Marshall's defense on this specific story at this rally and in true Trump fashion somehow managed, he can't come to the defense of this guy without doing a bunch of ethnic slurring all over the place. That's very interesting. Let's see Trump talk about Roger Marshall. Roger was given a real, I know the guy, he's one of the, he's a tough guy at all but he's also high quality and he's a fine person and he was given a bum rap because he was mandated by law to request strongly money owed from patients. You're not allowed not to do it. You have to by law go after those people and they made it like, oh, he was some kind of a shylock type guy. Yeah, so this is not the first time Trump has used this particular term at a rally. He doesn't seem like he's specifically doing anti-Semitic stuff necessarily deliberately there. He's just using it as a term for, I don't know what exactly, someone who is cruel and mean with money, which obviously is the source of the slur, right, I mean, that's, I don't know. How does a guy get up there two weeks before the midterm and first of all, it's crazy that he's talking about this in the first place like playing defense for Roger Marshall when he should just be doing what all the other Republicans are doing and talking about how all the Democrats are communists who want to trans your children, you know, like the stuff that actually gets their voters going. But the fact that he is playing defense on this issue and then the fact that he has to slur, I mean, like he that the swerves in this direction, it just seems insane that this is like the best foot forward for the president for the party right now. Yeah, I mean, Trump is not, there's no, what's the coherent closing message from Trump, even from the Republicans, the trans stuff seems to have fallen flat, communists, I don't know how much that really works with people who aren't already going to be turning out to vote for you. And they just don't have a coherent account of why you should either vote for Trump and a Republican Congress. They really give it up on making the positive case, right? Whatever happened to that, the biggest single legislative achievement, which was the bill they passed. The big, beautiful bill. I mean, they literally don't mention it. Of course, I can tell in their advertising and Trump barely mentions it or doesn't. So you're right. I mean, they don't have a coherent closing message and it's not impossible to have one, even if the economy's not perfect, inflation's a little too high, gas prices are up. You can still, you know, Trump tried it a little bit with stopping ground for gain nuclear weapons. There have been things they could point to, borders closed, they don't even do that. So it's really pretty striking to be in that much disarray. And because the party is wet itself so much to Trump, the whole party is kind of a disarray, not Trump. I don't know. You're responding to an op-o. I mean, when you're in a wave situation for sure, I'm not even sure this adds any of these personal ads about different candidates are making any difference at all, honestly. It's sort of, do you want to revolve? I was saying before, do you want to Republican or Democratic Congress or Senate, but they can make a marginal difference, obviously. I like Trump's response. He's mandated by law to get that money. I suppose there might be some, I don't know, provisions somewhere. Sometimes you build someone, you then can't let it go, but of course, doctors give charitable care all the time. I mean, you're not literally mandated by law to charge every single one of your patients. I don't believe unless there's something I'm not aware of. I mean, maybe it's a complicated Medicaid being burst-putting, but that would be an issue between the doctor and Medicaid. So anyway, all I'm saying is it seems a little, it's not the kind of thing you want to throw out there without explaining it. You don't want to throw out of there at all, as you were saying. It's crazy playing defense on that issue, but I just think a lot of people hear that and think, I don't know, really, he's mandated by law to collect 18% interest on poor patients of his. Anyway, it's a little nuts to be playing defense as you were saying on that. And then the slur on the trial is the least of it. Well, not just the degree to which the whole party is now basically into your bigotry. We can get to that in a minute. I don't think someone was kicked out of a tax and kicked someone out of a rally who thought it was the causing disturbances. It was a black woman. So of course, he assumed she was against them and she assumed she was had to be kicked out, I guess, or his people did. It's tafted. The Republicans of Texas. And she was a woman who's a Republican, a Republican-ish influencer. And as Tony Thousand followers, apparently on Instagram, or something, they are so big at it. And Trump really played that card last night. But anyway, you were going to say something about that, but I didn't even see the one that you're talking about. One that I saw, which I think was also from yesterday, maybe the day before, was JD Vance speaking at a rally where somebody, not just in the crowd, but in the shot. One of the people who's standing right over his shoulder, or whatever, suddenly jumps up and starts shouting about the Epstein files. And he seems to be a young Hispanic man of some sort or other. You don't get that good of a look at him in the shot. But as he is escorted out, JD Vance makes some crack about, well, we basically said we've closed the border and we've stopped all unauthorized crossings, but apparently one got through something to that effect. I mean, it really is just really striking, shocking stuff. And there was a lot more of that from the Trump rally, too. Just on that, I just wanted to add one thing on that specific Roger Marshall point. And just like the weirdness of having lived in this universe with Trump now for a whole decade where he just says anything. He just says anything at all. And some of it's true and some of it's lies and some of it's just, you know, it could be either true, he could be telling the truth or he could be lying and it hardly makes a difference to him. Like these things don't scan differently in his own mind because all he has is sort of his own narratives and the spin that he's trying to give you, the sale he's trying to make to you. Just the fatigue, I guess, and the sort of like accumulated mental damage, even for us of just trying to wade through that and trying to pick it all out. I mean, I think sometimes about, remember Daniel Dale, CNN's Daniel Dale, who goes sort of like a rock star in the first Trump administration because like that was his superpower. You know, any time Trump would get up and speak, Daniel Dale would have his sort of like itemized 86 point list of all of the different lies and obfuscations and different things. And like, Daniel Dale is still around, he still does really good work, he's a good guy to follow. But like that whole mode of doing, you know, accountability journalism on just the fire hose of lies has just kind of gone away because you just can't do it. You can't keep up with it all. And it's also like, it has kind of dawned on people that there's just no, it doesn't really matter. Like Trump is going to get an electoral come up for a lot of things mostly because people are mad about high gas prices and the corruption and things like this. They don't think he's really fighting for them, but so many of these things he genuinely has just gotten away with because you can't, you can't be mad at all of it all the time. I mean, like people just don't, they don't follow it closely enough to dedicate enough neurons in their own minds to being upset about and angry with all of the things that Donald says that that rightly deserve that kind of anger and that kind of, that kind of, you know, feeling. Not to get like nihilistic about that specific thing, but I have just been thinking about that more and more about how bad it is to have a person like that with this complete, you know, amoral approach to the truth and anything that's true at all and just how difficult it is to maintain any kind of standards of right and wrong and knowing even just kind of understanding truth and falsity and all of that, but that's a little too, I don't know, a little too heavy maybe, I don't know, I'm just, I'm just kind of yapping at this point, but let's, should we do more, a couple more of these rally clips? I mean, it's, because it wasn't just the Shylock thing, it was, there were, it was a lot. And it wasn't just the stuff we've been mentioning either. I mean, let's just, I don't know, let's just kind of go rapid fire. We don't need to dwell on these, but, but let's, let's do a little bit of him talking about Barack Obama and Abdul El Sayyad and Michigan. Here's what I love because if you've ever heard of Barack Hussein Obama, who's a rotten president, by the way, he's going to be testifying for Muhammad. He's going to be testifying or I guess, I think he will probably end up being testifying, I don't know, whatever the hell he's doing. Actually, now that I think about it, he's been calling Abdul El Sayyad Muhammad a couple of times, but I actually don't know if that's what he was doing in that clip. I don't, I feel like I need a little more context. Maybe Mac can, maybe Mac can fill me in about what was going on around that specific thing because I, when I saw Muhammad there, I assumed it was another Abdul El Sayyad hip, but I'm not 100% sure that's what's going on there. So let's do another one here. I'm pretty sure it was. Is that what it was? Yeah, he just, what do you think? Testifying for Muhammad. And he actually says somewhere else that, you know, 65% or something, didn't he say this yesterday in one of the rallies or somewhere in an interview, gaggle? Yeah, most of those people are called Muhammad or something. I don't know, he's a pretty, he's a pretty, he's a pretty bigoted guy. Yeah, usually we, usually we substantiate these things and we have it all ready to go and we back it up. And Atlanta, we're flying by the seat of our pants here. Some people are going to movies past midnight, you know, you can't expect the kind of details. Exactly. No, it's super careful research here, you know. Yeah, go, go, go watch Daniel Dale, if that's what you're looking for. No, just a couple more of these here. This is, I know for a fact that this one is in fact about Ilhan Omar, representative from Minnesota because he mentions her by her actual name. So let's do, let's do Ilhan Omar and we'll just go straight from that into him talking about the other members of the squad because he also did a little bit of a jag about Rashida to leave and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. So let's just hit those real quick. Abdul, you have, you have Ilhan Omar, how about her? She comes from maybe the worst country in the entire world, Samalia. They have no government, they have no, they have nothing, all they do is shoot each other. And she comes over here and starts quoting, "I have constitutional rights, the Constitution. This country." And she hates our country. She is so pathetic, Rashida Taliib, how about that beauty Rashida Taliib, AOC, AOC. I like AOC better, you know, she's doing her thing. The recurring line about Ilhan Omar and how sort of appalling Trump finds it that she as a U.S. citizen would lay claim to the constitutional rights of U.S. citizens. Like the fact that he does that at all of these rallies now, it's like a big laugh line for him. And the fact that he then marries that to, you know, she hates our country. Well, she's not the one who is scoffing at the very idea that citizens have these particular rights that the president shouldn't be able to trample over here and there. But I don't know, I mean, it's all of a piece bill. I feel like there's almost no referent for this stuff anymore, right? I mean, it's almost completely divorced from like specific things about any of these people. It's just kind of this free associative exercise in bigotry and just being able to kind of feel that that sort of scorn and hatred for the other, which is associated now with, you know, the Democratic Party. Is there, I kind of struggled to say anything about that right now? I think you're too nice. I mean, it's not just the Democratic Party, he's just attacking dark skinned people and Muslim people. I mean, you know, I mean, what happened to Bernie Sanders is a left-winger, he's the most famous left-winger in the Democratic Party. He doesn't seem to bother Trump that much and there are God knows there are other people in both the Senate and the House and governors occasionally attacks a couple of them, you know, but it is pretty striking. I mean, there were five Muslim, I make, I don't know what the number is, five Muslim members of Congress, but somehow there are always the ones who get the Trump wants to really attack and use, you know, use their names, mock their names, change their names, add Muhammad and so forth. So it's pretty rank. It's pretty rank bigotry and I don't believe it's working. But I say this is someone who would have voted against some of the, most of those members in primaries, and I think it contributed a little bit to Elonommers, a Democratic opponent in '22 or '24, someone that pretty close primary race, actually, she had for a more moderate dem, but it is, so I'm not carrying any water here, but I don't think, but it is very striking that. Yeah. And then he goes to Kansas. I don't know, maybe he attacked Hamilton, the opponent of Marshall, seems to spend wartime attacking El Sayed, who's running in Michigan, right, I mean, that's a kind of interesting, yeah, but Mamdani, he was on, he seems to have dropped the others are using Mamdani, I'd noticed, but maybe he was Trump likes him, he came to the office a couple times, you know, straight away. Yeah. The one bit that I did see that he mentioned that I'm Hamilton was that he did one of these, like these things that have become these Trump specials now where he's basically saying, you know, if you elect a Republican, I will reward you with a good policy. Right. The Democrat, I won't, and he said that about year round E15 gas, where, you know, that's a big corn belt priority is getting more and more ethanol into gasoline, because it, you know, props up the farm economy there. And he basically said, you know, if Roger Marshall is reelected, I'm going to make that happen for you people. If it's Adam Hamilton, I probably won't try very hard to do that. I mean, it's just really, really astonishing stuff from the president. I did want to circle back around real quick on the, on the clip, because when he was talking about Muhammad, he was in fact talking about a dual El Sayed, it was just so inscrutable that like I, I couldn't even hardly put it together there, but that is his, you know, pet name for El Sayed. And I mean, like that kind of gets to what I was talking about a minute ago too, about the, the truth and falsity. Like when he says Obama's going to be testifying for Muhammad, like that's not a lie, exactly. He's just bad at language also. He's saying he's going to be campaigning on his behalf. He's not going to be testifying for him. It's not a legal matter. It's not, you know, he's not going to be on taking the stand. He's going to be at rallies, at events, speaking up on behalf of, of Abdul El Sayed. And I was also reminded, maybe we'll get to this in a minute, but, but yesterday when, when Trump said that he's going to meet with G of China and Putin of Russia at this trilateral summit, and he said, well, I don't think we're really going to talk about Ukraine. I think we're going to talk about nuclear weapons and denuclearization. And there was this right up in the New York Times where, where they quote that. And then there's just this parenthetical where it's like presumably Trump was talking about arms control there because none of these countries are going to denuclearize it. It's just like, that is crazy. That's crazy that like this is where we've arrived at where you kind of just have to do this sort of like free association game with the president where like none of the things he says really make, really map on to reality at all, either because he lies a lot or because he's badly informed or because he's bad at speaking accurately and clearly after all of these years of not really trying to. And so instead, we have to just kind of like, you know, do one of those, like back of the serial box puzzles where you like, you know, focus your eyes out and like try to make it out in all of the noise, what the real picture is. That doesn't seem very good either. Okay, let's do one last rally clip and then we'll be done with all that for now. There's only so much you can take. Let's do that. The preserve our religion riff. The votes were pouring in. They didn't know what to do. So we made it too big to rig. And that's what you have to do, Americans are going to stand up and declare that we will defend our culture. We will protect our civilization. We will preserve our religion, our values and our heritage and we will never let our nation be conquered or destroyed by people that hate us. I don't know, Bill, I've been ranting a lot. What are you making? I mean, there he's reading. That's clearly written by Steve Miller or by a Steve Miller protege in the speech writer's office. And that's their standard kind of western civilization line. They throw in religion because it fits in, I suppose, with the attacks on the Muslims and scares people. He went on about France, I believe also with this rally, right? And implied that these were Islamist riots, whereas there's been a touch of that, these were student riots and they're still overwhelmingly that. I mean, they should stop the riots, but these are not primarily about migrant issues or about and not primarily with immigrants, but they may have joined it. I'm sure for people of all colors and races have joined in, maybe not only poor people. But anyway, I'm just saying he loves anything he can do to play the Muslim card, the race card, the bigotry card, he's now doing it. Recently, on your earlier point, I was thinking about the nuclear, as you say, the New York Times has to interpret, I don't know what denuclearization is, something that's arms control. I don't think they're writing arms control discussions about nuclear weapons going on between us and Russia and China that I know of. He's just lying again because he doesn't quite want us acknowledge the truth, which is there's no reason for this meeting except to stab Ukraine in the back. It is Munich. Ukraine won't be there. That's what Putin's, that's top of mind for Putin to say the least, G, perfectly happy to go along and see the US get even weaker. It's a really, the degree to which, so he has to think of some reason why he'd be meeting with these guys. They're both nuclear powers, so he invents a nuclear reason. It is genuinely scary that he's the president of the United States, if we could just be honest for a second. He is the charge of the executive branch of the United States, and that's not a lot of people who won't tell him, no, or we can't do that, or maybe here's the thing you're just correcting to say, yeah, yeah, let's talk a little bit more about Ukraine. But before we do that, let's throw here to a quick add. Followed my favorite time of year, although I did recently complain that we're getting less and less false kind of annoying, but between Halloween Thanksgiving and just getting it together with family and friends for the holidays, there's just so much to look forward to. The last thing I'd want is to get sick and spend that time stuck in bed instead of enjoying it with a nice cup of coffee, and walking in those leaves, contributing to your feet. That's also a good reminder that taking care of my health matters, even when life gets busy. And when it comes to finding a doctor, that's where Zock-Dock comes in. Zock-Dock makes it easy to search for in-network doctors nearby to compare reviews from real patients and to see actual appointment openings. Head to Zock-Dock.com/BullwareTakes to get started, and check out a appointment offer to do lists. That's Z-O-C-D-O-C dot com/BullwareTakes. I was really admiring in that ad there, the way that Sam and you and me took three different approaches to trying to figure out a camera angle in these hotel rooms. It's not that easy. You guys should see these rooms there. They're a little tough to frame. Anyway, when we were putting this show together, I kind of thought, we'll do the Trump falling apart at rallies, stuff first, and the bad poll numbers in Mike Lindell, ring his hands about how miserable and beaten down he is, and all that. That'll be the fun half, and then we'll have to get to the grizzly stuff with Ukraine. Instead, the first half was kind of grizzly, too, but a lot of it. I mean, like, we, politically speaking, things are about as good as we could have hoped they would be in terms of, like, come up for, you know, polited this tsunami that appears to be bearing down on these guys. And yet, our live streams are so grim, I mean, like, I don't know if you're very tired, after going to a movie, very late in the night, you thinking it's grim. But if you, if you're well-rested, you know, you think things are cheerful, Tim and I were cheerful yesterday, but, no, I, that's true. Look, it is, I mean, honestly, on the one hand, they're getting there, come up once, and in this morning's morning shots, I write about that. And it's a big moment, I think, in this mid-term, it could be a big predicate for 2028, and for a real change in the politics of our country, which is important. On the other hand, you also have to deal with the reality that there he is. And, of course, Ukraine's, I mean, it is more than back of mind, it's really on the front. It's hard to look, it's hard to keep that out of one's mind, even once it's talking about it. It's such a shameful betrayal, as you've written well in morning shots recently. Yeah, yeah. I mean, we've been talking about this a lot. We've been talking about on this show. We've been writing about it that the ongoing betrayal that just seems to all have spiraled from this one phone call with Putin. I mean, obviously, it's, it's not all from that. This is Trump's disposition all along, is to be sort of sympathetic to Putin and see Zelensky as sort of a figure of contempt, because he's from a smaller, poorer, weaker nation, you know, that is asking us for support on ideological grounds that Trump distains. But ever since that call, I mean, it really has just been one catastrophe after another. Even following all of that, though, I was sort of shocked by some of Trump's comments that he made on the way to that rally yesterday. We gestured at them a minute to go here. But let's just, let's just watch him talk about this, because this is, this is pretty astonishing stuff. Yeah, Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine. What would we have to talk about about Ukraine at a trilateral meeting? I mean, like it's, it's, it's so much worse even than like where Putin is trying to get him to. That's what's, that's what's so strange. I mean, like Putin is pressing his advantage. He proposes this meeting. He's like, you know, let's, let's you and me and G, the big dogs of the world, let's all get together. And as sort of globe striding world leaders, we will, we will find some sort of equitable solution to this conflict in Ukraine. And you'll be able to say you deserve a Nobel Peace Prize for it. And everybody will win except Ukraine, obviously, but they don't really matter. They're not a big power. They don't, they don't sit at the big dog table with us. That's what, that's what Putin proposes. And he's like, you know, once we get there, I'll be able to work more on my magic and it'll be, it'll be great. But like Trump doesn't even need that anymore. Trump is just, I mean, like, he doesn't even need to get to that meeting before he's saying, Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine. Basically, they haven't been doing much in the same thing with China. In terms of attacking Ukraine, Russia and China are equivalent in the president's mind. Apparently, this is how he frames it here. Notwithstanding the fact that Russia is right now, in real time, killing more Ukrainian civilians than they have ever in the war since the very early days, you know, or like the year over year increase as Ukraine has lost it more and more of its own ability to defend itself from these strikes. Russia has not taken the foot off of the accelerator when it comes to just launching missile after missile at Ukrainian population centers. And people are dying by the hundreds throughout Ukraine all the time for years now on end. And this is the president's response is, uh, Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine. So, I don't know, Bill, what do you even say? Yeah, it is hard to know what to say. And you wonder, I mean, as you say, it's more than Putin needs almost. He just needs Trump to be kind of neutral and sort of not too much for Ukraine, you think. Or maybe in return for this, he gets stuff from Putin. I've been thinking about this a little bit. It's so over the top. They've been indications from Putin's people that Trump wants help in 27-28, sort of like back in 2015-16 when he asked for the Russians to help. And indeed, they did release the, you know, the, what were they, the audio recordings, I suppose, that they had stolen. What was the name of that? I can't remember anymore. The, you know, I'm talking about where I've shown all that stuff. Are you talking about the emails and jumpidesis stuff and all of that? Or are you? Yeah. Which conveniently, they released right the evening of when the Billy Bush tape came out. There seems to have been Russian involvement there. But anyway, who knows what he hopes to get out of this, but he's all in. He is all in as you say. Yeah. Well, we know one thing that he hopes to get out of it because he put it up on truth social himself. Let's just throw this up. This is from a couple of days ago. And we talked about this in morning shots already too, but this is his, his, his post. My decision on Russia is a very simple one. You know, he doesn't want to push Russia away from the bargaining table. Again, Russia is a great power whose, whose agency must be respected and they must be treated with kid gloves and, and Ukraine. He, he, he says here, you know, Zelensky doesn't care with all the money that you, that Europe is famously giving him and that Crook a Joe Biden gave him in the past. He doesn't want to end this war and probably never did. You know, just this completely topsy-turvy upside down funhouse mirror version of what's going on in this war right now. But, but one of the most interesting things that he says here is a little higher up in that post. Perhaps more importantly, Russia is doing very little, if anything, to help the Islamic Republic of Iran, compared to what they could be doing. And I want to keep it that way. And will, unless stupid people get in the way. I mean, like here, it is just very clear that that in addition to Trump's just sort of fundamental sympathies with Putin and his, his fundamental, you know, bro-mance there, where he, where he sees him as a kindred spirit, here Putin is actually additionally just playing him very well diplomatically, basically saying, you know, acting like, you know, the, the stronger hand player here, where, where, where he is making Trump sweat a little bit about well. If I go too hard against Russia in Ukraine, maybe Russia will then get involved on behalf of Iran more, and I don't want that to happen. So he kind of has Trump almost running scared here, despite Trump's, you know, maximalist claims about overwhelming military victory already having been achieved in Iran. I don't know. It's just, it's so, it's so weak. And it's all right there. I mean, he's, you don't, you don't have to, like, put it together from context clues that Trump is getting played by Putin in this way. Trump himself is saying in his own voice on his own social media platform, that this is part of the reason why he is deferring to Putin in all of this, because, because of this other geopolitical concern that he's afraid of, of Russia flexing its muscles about. And that, apparently, the United States couldn't handle that. So I don't know. It's, it's really, it's something, it's really interesting. It's really cool. And this is what we get. And that last point, I mean, Trump's own intelligence agencies, I mean, the intelligence agencies, the Trump administration, run by Trump loyalists, and he's carefully put in there have, have assessed considerable Russian interference in Iran and aid to Iran, including an important aid that has helped them attack US troops and US bases. So that's, that's not really controversial. I haven't seen Radcliffe out there saying that was bad reporting. That was pretty well sourced reporting to, to America as well as European intelligence sources. So, Trump's just making that up right. And they're not, they're not really helping Iran much. They're not doing, they're not really killing any Ukrainians as you were stressing before. It's just a great, you know, they're just behaving great really around the world. So what's, so what's the issue? You know, he really does so much want to be his, his little brother or something, right? Yeah. Yeah. Clean Bill of Health. Clean Bill of Health as far as Russian activity in the world is concerned from the president of the United States. There are a couple people around here who really ought to know better. Here's one of them, Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He has not been all of that, all that visible, I guess you would say, in, in this remarkable new bullying of Ukraine. Obviously, he, as far as he has principles remaining, isn't going to be happy about those. You know, he's standing up for democracies around the world was a big part of sort of the before-times Rubio package. Again, at that time sort of seems to be a deep philosophical belief on his part that that's an important thing for America to do. Instead, he has now been sort of reduced to this role of sort of trotting out here and there to hector the media and say, "Wow, it's not really as bad as you all say," or hector Ukrainian officials. "Wow, it's really, you know, this betrayal is not actually going as deep as some are insinuating in Ukraine." I don't know. Let's hit a couple clips of Marco just, just a, on a wallow in it, I guess, because it really is just astonishing. Here's, here's Marco. So all these things are balanced on a daily basis. I think the important takeaway for you is that there has not been some deliberate political directive to go out and harm Ukraine. This is just not accurate. Even this talk about, I think on the 13th and again on the 18th, there were air strikes in Ukraine that were not detected. That is not because America did not provide information. I saw somebody associated with the Ukrainian government say that people in Ukraine are dying because the US is denying them information. That's scandalous. That's outrageous. That's just simply not true. That's not accurate. Check your facts Ukrainian government officials. I mean, it's it's what Mark was talking about here is that There were some of these airstrikes that killed civilians in Kiev last week Came without the ordinary Advanced warning of of incoming missiles that have allowed Ukraine for a long time to mitigate some casualties And that rely on US intelligence You know US US has eyes on this guy that Ukraine does not have US has been telling Ukraine when missiles are launched and where they appear to be Heading and that has given you know civilians a lot sometime some short period of time to duck and run for cover And and again has had some effect mitigating the damage to to the civilian loss of life Trump and the US government have been treating this US intelligence sharing as a political football for the past two weeks You know when that that same day that Trump Had that very now famous phone call with Vladimir Putin Steve Whitcoff and Jared Kushner are down in Florida I believe I think it's at Whitcoff's club talking to Ukrainian officials and threatening them with The yanking with the withholding of this very intelligence sharing if they do not stop attacking you know Russian infrastructure in Russia itself a specifically Russian energy infrastructure So this is a thing that the US government is specifically Threatening to cut Ukraine off from and then a few days after that they get hit with all these missiles and they don't have it and They put though they put two and two together on that and say it appears as though the United States is now trial ballooning this threat It's you know following through on this threat that they have already been threatening us with I guess according to Rubio That's not what happened. I don't know the facts on that one of whether it was a deliberate thing or some sort of You know systems failure, but the timing at least is is is convenient enough that of course Ukrainian officials are going to wonder Are going to think maybe that's what happened and meanwhile the president of the United States is up here Just spouting pro Putin propaganda all the time apropos of nothing It's like his favorite thing to talk about all of a sudden or was last week And and so like for for Marco now to get up and sort of do this stern I can't believe anybody would say that about the good old US of A routine It's a little hard to take It is but everything he's been doing for the last two years is hard to take and I guess we just have to it's still hard to get used to the fact that people abandoned their principles and But two years in they are who they are, you know, and whatever they once believed however deeply I didn't I mean he already was a bad thing Fair amount after 2016 obviously, but to go along with all kinds of Trump policies in the first term and then to go along with Trump By the time he was the nominee in this 2024, but still As you say that was his that was the old Marco, but I suppose it would be like being in some of these regimes in the 20s and 30s and so well You know about five years ago 10 years ago even two years ago this guy was doing this Can you believe you're doing this at some point you just have to say yeah, you got to believe they're they're doing this, right? Yeah, yeah, all right We're gonna keep following the Ukraine story. We're gonna keep following the midterm story obviously because that is Really just around the corner, but we can call it there for for now.
