Trump Gets Brutal Warning... Subpoenas Incoming

Congressman Robert Garcia outlines a comprehensive and aggressive strategy for Democrats as they prepare for the upcoming midterms, emphasizing the need for relentless grassroots mobilization and public engagement. He identifies key figures in the Trump family and associated networks—such as Jared Kushner, Stephen Miller, and Todd Blanche—as central targets for oversight investigations, citing widespread corruption, financial misconduct, and cover-ups related to the Jeffrey Epstein case and foreign policy. Garcia asserts that the lack of transparency, including the withholding of 3 million+ documents and no public hearings on Epstein, represents a critical failure of accountability. He calls for public hearings, depositions, and legal action, including contempt charges, to force disclosures and hold powerful figures accountable. He also critiques the hypocrisy of Republican lawmakers who defend figures like Jared Kushner despite his vast foreign investments and ties to Saudi Arabia. Beyond investigations, Garcia stresses that retribution and justice are non-negotiable for democracy, arguing that real progress requires addressing systemic inequality, billionaire wealth, and elite power. He highlights the need for campaign finance reform, increased taxation on the ultra-wealthy, and structural changes to the Supreme Court to ensure accountability. Ultimately, he expresses confidence in the new generation of Democratic lawmakers who are focused on integrity, equity, and fighting corruption, positioning oversight as essential to restoring public trust in government.

I mean, who the fuck gets her wedding paid for? You hear the son of the president buy an ally of Vladimir Putin in the tunes of hundreds of millions of dollars. I mean, buy the man a fucking toaster. Don't, don't, don't pay his entire wedding. (upbeat music) - Welcome to "I've Had It Weekend." Joining me is a very special guest because he is the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, and that is Congressman Robert Garcia, who, if in three weeks, there is a blue tsunami, you are going to be very, very, very busy. - Very, very, very busy, absolutely, but also so much work to do. When you have the most corrupt person, everyone in the history of our country to serve as president and his crime family, there's going to be a lot of work to do, and so we're going to win this election, and then that work is going to, is going to supercharge. - All right, so it's three weeks until those midterms and chances of taking the House continue to increase, let's pop this up. As you can see, Fox News shifts 18 House ratings all in Democrats favor. And here's where I am, Congressman. I have so much PTSD from 24 and from 2016. I do not want us to feel like, oh, we've got this, because I think there's a lot of secret Trump voters. And what's your take on how we are heading into the midterms? - I agree with that take. So first is we shouldn't assume that just because the polling is looking positive or the Raiders are changing, the House races or the Senate races, we should not feel that that somehow gives us the excuse to lean back here. We got to go full force, we got to win these seats. Now, I think that the chances are of us winning the House are actually doing pretty well. Is it going to be this massive wave or we're winning 20, 30 seats? I'm not sure. So I think what we have to prepare for is every single day until the election is to work hard, travel the country, raise money, have grassroots donors out there, folks not going on doors, making phone calls, that's what we're doing. And that's what we got to focus on. I think people that are popping the champagne early, I think is a huge mistake. And I'm like you, it took me a long time to recover from those last couple of elections. I mean, that was devastating for so many of us, we don't want to see it happen again. So we can win the House and the Senate, but we've got to put in the work to do it. All right, who are the first five people that you're going to subpoena in your oversight committee? Let's pretend it's a huge, giant blue wave. I mean, exclamation point tsunami style. Here are your top five. So look, without obviously, we've been planning out our, what those first few weeks and a couple of months are going to look like and what the hearings look like. So without giving too much away, I think that we could, you could assume that within that group of folks that we're going to ask questions of, is it's a, certainly members of the Trump family and the organization itself. We want to talk to folks like Stephen Miller. We want to talk to Don Jr. and Eric. We want to talk to Christie Neum. We want to talk to Cory Lewandowski. These are people that are at the center of all of the corruption that is coming out of the White House. And so you can absolutely expect that those are folks that are at the top of our list. Then when you look and turn to other investigations like the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, we're going to ensure that we bring in key folks from the Epstein estate folks that have been brought in by Republicans, but not put under oath, which is insane and crazy. And so Trump family corruption, DHS and ICE, the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, you're going to see a lot of action from oversight on those kind of those three big lanes very early on. All right, let's stick with the Epstein. You have been out in the forefront of this with Rocana and others. And they still have not turned over all of the files and are in violation of the Epstein Transparency Act, I think it's called. If they continue, because this is what I think, I know you can't say, but this is just what I think they're doing. I think right now Todd Blanche is destroying things. So if you get the blue wave and how Kim has the gavel, what are you guys going to do to say we demand these files immediately and is Todd Blanche on your list to people to call in about the meeting that he had with Gaelin Maxwell, and then that switcheroo from one prison to a cream pup prison where she's got a puppy and does yoga and stuff. Is this on your list of people you would like to discuss? >> Absolutely, I mean look, a couple things are important. Number one, Todd Blanche at the center of the White House cover up. I mean, Pam Bondy and Todd Blanche played enormous roles in this cover up, which is, it's not the crime, there's two massive buckets of crimes here. I mean, look, one is the horrific abuse and rape and trafficking of women and girls, which happened obviously by Jeffree Epstein, but powerful people across across this world and their associates. And the other area of crimes is the cover up that's happening and has happened at the White House. The fact that JD Vance and Suzy Wiles are holding situation room level meetings why they're happening in the situation room, talking about Gaelin Maxwell, talking about exonerating Donald Trump, talking about how they're going to handle this with the FBI and the DOJ. I mean, that is crazy insanity. And so what is being said in that room? How many meetings have actually happened? Why is JD Vance leading these discussions? And that's all going to be the critical part of this investigation. Todd Blanche has yet to release 3 million plus documents, including, by the way, critical documents about the president himself. And so the idea that we're just going to sit around and allow them to pretend like the investigation is over is crazy. There has not been Jennifer A single, not one public hearing on the Jeffree Epstein investigation by this Republican House and the oversight committee. Not one. We're going to have real public hearings. We're going to have real testimony and depositions in front of the American public and the press. We're going to bring in witnesses who we have critical information and all the associates of Jeffree Epstein who the Republicans have decided to not put under oath or to give a slap on the wrist. That is over. If you were involved in the abuse of women and girls, if you were involved in the cover-up at the White House or the DOJ, we are coming after you and going to get the truth. - I love, love exactly where your head's at. Your colleagues, soon to be former colleague, Marjorie Taylor Greene has been through some sort of deprogramming evolution type situation. And she says that Donald Trump told her, I'm not going to release the files because it will hurt a lot of my friends. So as we know that whatever is left is loaded, hot, shocking, horrific, all of these things. Let's just play through some scenarios here. Let's say that you subpoena Todd Blanche and he says, "Tep titties, I'm not coming in. What do you do next?" - That's where for us, what we've got to be aggressive when it comes to the powers of the Congress. And the power of the Congress in the majority is different than the power of those in the minority. And so we will have the ability to go to the courts, which we did not have and do not have currently in the minority. We'll have the ability to look at contempt charges, which of course we don't have majorities in the House. And so the administration, whether it is Todd Blanche, whether it's, and by the way, the thing about contempt is people say, well, you can go for a contempt and that could just go to the DOJ. Sure, there's also civil contempt which goes through the courts and does not go to the DOJ. And so we've got to use all of our contempt powers to go after these guys for not being honest with the public. And for covering up the largest modern day six trafficking reign that abused children across this country and across the world. And people have information, whether it's Melania Trump, whether it's JD Vance, whether it's Kimberly Goldfoyle now. So the information is there, we've got to continue to put the pressure on 'cause these guys are all gonna start turning on each other. Someone asked me today, well, Kimberly Goldfoyle is now a private citizen. Are you gonna drop your investigation? Hell, no, we're gonna turn that investigation up just because you're a private citizen like Pam Bondi is now, and that Kimberly Goldfoyle is now, or Christie, no, it doesn't mean that you're not gonna answer our questions because these folks have a lot of information. And Donald Trump is not going to be the president forever. His children, who have, in my opinion, and clearly by reporting, I mean, the amount of evidence of these sons sitting on these boards and then these boards getting contracts from the Pentagon, or your wedding being paid for by Russian oligarch. I mean, who the fuck gets your wedding paid for? You're the son of the president by an ally of Vladimir Putin in the tunes of hundreds of millions of dollars. I mean, by the man a damn toaster, don't pay his entire wedding. And so the level of corruption that we're gonna have to deal with on oversight is so staggering, but it's also necessary for us to lean in and be aggressive. Apparently Kimberley Gofoyle has a burn book. And I would imagine that she would be a really good witness because she spent six years dating and/or engaged to Don Jr. And you know, families can be messy behind the scenes and once you're kind of a significant other or a fiance, you see kind of the messiness and that's everybody. But I think the Trumps win on the dysfunction and the messiness. And so I would love, just just a personal thing for you to ask her about this burn. book that is being reported right now. As it pertains to this current speaker of the house, Mike Johnson, he has been out on the campaign trail. I think he's almost a better surrogate than you could be because he is out there saying things like if they win it's going to be investigation after investigation and they're going to it's going to be years of investigations and they might impeach Trump and I'm just like, yes, bring it on. So I just did a podcast, I did Katie Kirk's podcast. She interviewed me about my book and she asked me this question. Do you think Americans really want a retribution or do they want Democrats to deliver for them? And my response to Katie was the Democrats have to walk in Chugam. We have to have retribution and accountability for these crimes we have to and Merritt Garland didn't finish it concerning January 6th. And that's why your job if we get the house is so incredibly important for democracy, for the history of this country and most importantly, congressman, for so many people that are being bullied and or killed and or incarcerated by their government. And so as you look ahead and you see the job that's ahead of you, what do you think about that question? Should Democrats focus on delivering affordability or retribution? How would you answer the question that she proposed to me? Look, I get asked this question all the time by my constituents, town halls, everything else. And actually the same thing every time we can do both. And not only can we do both, there is there is no future for our democracy in our country if we are not able to look back and actually have justice and accountability in this moment. And this idea, look, I tell people look, we're going to pass healthcare legislation, we should focus on on issues around childcare and about affordability. And all those things are important and they matter. And there's going to be a lot of committees and the caucus that can focus on these issues. What we're going to focus on is truth, justice, and accountability for the people that are harming and trying to destroy this country and are actively hurting people in our country every single day. You can't just move forward. We have to be able to tell our young people, everyone across this country that this moment that what's happening right now with the Trump crime family and their entire group of associates that this cannot happen again. This is a moment of time that isn't that is not welcome in our democracy, that we have to reject this and they can only learn there has to be accountability. And the people are also like demanding this. And people want justice. If you're a Christian element, Cory Lewandowski, and if you were involved in pay-to-play so that folks can can can get wealthier and billions more, these four or five companies that are part of this deportation machine and that you're essentially making more money, the more people that get thrown in and kidnapped in these deportation centers, there has to be accountability for that. If you are Donald Trump and the Trump organization and you are benefiting from him sitting there and all this his idea of diplomacy happening around the world while the Trump is building hotels and golf courses and making money off these crypto schemes, there has to be accountability. We have to say this is not allowed in this country and I think people are demanding that not just Democrats. I think the country is demanding that so we got to have both. Jared Kushner is somebody who is definitely enriching himself, who is acting as a state department official if you will, engaged in foreign policy. And I hear a lot talk from the Stephen Miller's, from the Jared Kushner's, from the Donald Trump's, that Azoren Mamdani or an Abdul Al Sayed are Jihadi terrorists and that's just because they're not too bright and so they just have to say they're Muslims so therefore they're terrorists. I see Jared Kushner and I see him BFF Swiss Saudi Arabia and I see him making billions with it be billions of dollars with Saudi Arabia and you've opened up an investigation into him. If Democrats take the house, what are you prepared to do with that current investigation right now? Well, I mean, yeah, Jared Kushner is currently upset at me and has sent his lawyers just to put out statements about me and our investigation. But let's be very clear about what Jared Kushner is doing. One is in the first Trump administration, the man walks out of the White House, right? He'd been enrolled as an advisor to the president, walks out of the White House and was in within three months, three months gets two billion that's with AB $2 billion from the Saudis for his investment fund. Since then, he's received enormous amounts of gobs of money from not just the Saudis but other Middle Eastern countries, not just much countries, but people that are dumping money into this investment firm where he isn't taking that money and making an enormous amount of profit for for himself. And what is he doing? He's traveling around the Middle East, around the world, representing our government, representing the president, but now he calls himself a private citizen. And so because he's a private citizen, you know, he can't be asked questions, yet he is investing, and by the way, he's investing in organizations and funds that are then also, by the way, supplying arms and investing in the Israeli military. Well, he's the one that's supposed to be, you know, providing a peace road map in Gaza. I mean, give me a fucking break. Jared Kushner, the amount of corruption that is happening, Jared Kushner has to be investigated for all of the work that he is doing right now and what happened in the first Trump administration. So we're going to continue to ask those tough questions, but if you're trying to buy private islands, if you're taking money to build it from the Saudis, and no one in your party would say a word, give me a break, and they want to attack Abdul, they want to attack Zoran or whoever else. I mean, I just think the hypocrisy is finally, people are seeing the hypocrisy. I ask you this, so you could work every day with these people. You know, Mike Johnson, there's all and on, and I know you're polite and professional. I know that about you. But all of this could end. All of this could end if any of them had any courage at all. Any just a shred. All I've seen from you, we've been filming for 16 minutes is just iron clad conviction about doing the right thing. And none of these guys have the right thing with the exception of Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massey. And they have shown that they are not, you know, blindly loyal behind the scenes at work and, you know, in the restroom or at the lunch counter. Do these guys true believers in this Trump stuff or take us into the psychology and you don't often name somebody individually, although off camera, I'd love for you to. But what do they, do they say like, no, we, you know, God, he sucks or he's, he's screwing us. I mean, what do these Republicans say? Are they, are they die hard believers in all of this? I think there's a lot of them are die hard believers. They really are. And they've been, and they've been elected a lot of them with the help of Donald Trump, especially, especially if you look at their newer members. And look, this is what's important. Their newer members and our newer members are very different. They're and we're actually very different from the older folks within our own parties. And their newer members are, they, they are all in bed with Trump and Maddie. I mean, that's who, that's who they are. And some of their older, and some of their members have been there for a while that they've bought onto the line. I mean, they believe it now. They, they, they repeatedly repeat the lie so often that they've just bought into it. I'm one of those folks and I, I told people all the time as an immigrant, obviously, obviously, as a gay person, like, I don't like to spend my free time hanging out with people that want to destroy our country, not stand up to Donald Trump, and I don't think I deserve the same rights as an expression. And so I'm not one of those that, you know, sits around the lunchroom, trying to cut bipartisan deals with everybody, because I think this is, this is not that moment. This is the moment when we got to fight these guys every single day. And so I am not impressed with the crop of Republicans that come in and coming into the Congress. And I do believe that many of them believe the bullshit. And if they don't, then they're, it's almost even worse if you're, you know, you're lying to yourself, your family, your God, to hurt people and to harm this country and the public. But I'll tell you, the new crop, one of the reasons why I'm like, hopeful, the new crop of folks that are coming in, the more working class people, more folks that, you know, we're, we're not trading stocks. Like, we don't fucking have stocks. Like, we're just, we're coming in and, and focus on, on the fight. And we're focused on, you know, taking care of people, getting back to this idea that government is there to actually help people and taking on corruption. And so these guys don't have anything on us. I think that that's part of it is like there, we're not, we're not, they're not there to like deal with with these guys or to trade, you know, do insider trading or whatever. Like, that's not, that's not the why we're there. And so I am hopeful about the new crop of Democrats coming in. And I think it's going to be a good, hopefully we're going to win this majority and do some good work. All right. Let's shift gears and talk about Elon Musk. He has been very busy. I think he spent close to 300 million just since July. So this is a compound question. Number one, what he did with Doge, this is my opinion. I think was illegal. I think that he is up to no good at all times. And so please address that in the second part of the question. When And somebody has. $300 million to just casually spend on elections in a two-month period and it doesn't even dent your net worth. In fact, the interest on his net worth is already repaid it. Now, aggressive, do you think in our dream, cautiously optimistic world that the Democrats come in, that we have to aggressively tax these oligarchs that are constantly in a state of victimhood? I mean, if you hear them speak, it's like, oh my god, I heard Jeff Bezos other day, it just sounded like such a victim. So answer those two components pertaining to Elon Musk and the larger one about taxing billionaires. Well, I mean, taxing billionaires is just a starting point. The reality is, you know, the rich continue to get richer, income inequality continues to get worse for working class people, not just in this country, but around the world. I mean, that is a fact. We tax people less today, and then we tax them 40, 50 years ago, the rich pay less in taxes than they used to pay, and why do we even have to even have conversations about trillionaires? Why is we allowing these folks to just continue to take money from, they're what they're doing, they take working class people's money and labor, and then they transfer it to themselves. And then we're left with paying for working class folks that are struggling for their health care, you know, ensuring that they have social security. So all of the burden of when people that are struggling goes back on the American taxpayer. And if you're a middle class family, people that should be, we should be mad at and upset it are the billionaire class. And the Republicans have done such a great job of putting us against each other that if we just realize that the folks that really need to get taken on and taxed are billionaires in this country, we could pay for so much more. I mean, the billionaires are also then benefiting of course from all of these contracts are coming out of the Pentagon, from the wars, from the deportation machine that Donald Trump has set up. And so Elon Musk should not be allowed and no, you shouldn't be allowed if you're getting contracts from the federal government. You shouldn't be allowed to be contributing to these major campaigns and there's some laws that are swirling and some rules that are out there that are being looked at around that, but there has to be major reform. And the only way we're going to get reform through a Supreme Court, because at the end of the day, the Congress, let's say we have the presidency in the Congress, we pass real legislation around campaigned financial reform, which would be incredible. That's going to go to the Supreme Court. And so we have to think both what we can do legally out of the Congress and what's going to get through the court. And the only way we're going to get real change in this country is we got to grow some and we got to expand the Supreme Court. We get the presidency, we've got to expand the Supreme Court and reimagine what the court could actually look like for the next 50, 50, 100 years. Because right now, this court is going to stop the progress for the future. As it pertains to your job on oversight, I'm very concerned about ethics violations in the Supreme Court. I'm very concerned about the wife of Chief Justice Roberts, who is at a law firm and she receives a lot of money from people who then almost immediately thereafter earn front of her husband. And then there's all sorts of people who are giving private plane rides, boat rides, even vacations, properties to these justices. Even your oversight committee, call these justices in, is there any oversight on these rogue Supreme Court justices? There absolutely can be. We've got to do it through legislation. And here's where I think one of the great things that's happening right now. And so my colleague, Jamie Raskin on Judiciary, one of the great things that's happening right now is we are working as a real team. Look, when I came in, I wasn't even in Congress for three years. When I got the Congress as a freshman member on the oversight committee, my ranking member was Jamie Raskin. So he was like a hero to me and a mentor. And the fact that I get to now work with him as the ranking member of that committee and he's leading Judiciary, we both can become chairman of, we are going to map out an incredible kind of one, two punch on these investigations. And the Supreme Court work, Jamie is actively working on. And we're going to be supporting that, but you're going to see a significant amount of activity around the Supreme Court and the DOJ out of the Judiciary Committee with our support. And so we're kind of dividing up all of the corruption that currently exists. And Jamie and I are talking constantly, we just talked the day before yesterday to prepare for the majority. So expect a lot of good work out of the new chairman Raskin when it comes to the Supreme Court, the DOJ in Todd Blanche. He's incredible. I'm a huge fan of his. And I feel like I owed the two of you an apology because sometimes on my podcast, I'm like, the Democrats aren't doing anything, they make me so crazy. You guys are working. You are preparing. And it's so comforting to hear your justifiable righteous rage at what this government is doing to all of us and knowing that we have you as a fighter. And I know there's many others in Congress and Jamie Raskin already thinking about things like the Supreme Court. I hope that you both of you continue to go out and message and message because we need to hear it. But I have one final question for you. Are you going to subpoena big balls? Uh, we're definitely interested in, I mean, look, the amount of dance. Well, let's wait. We need to say to big balls, or will you put his name in parentheses, quotes, but big balls, please, we've been quotes, yeah, well, we'll have to probably put the official name. But I mean, look, I don't think people recognize like all of your information has been stolen. I mean, people, you know, the damage that these guys did, uh, it's serious. And so that, that is something that we're going to, we have to get an answer. We still don't have answers as to why people's information, why all this data was taken was the, was it at the direction of Elon Musk? Elon Musk, have her, you know, look, Doge was one thing. This team of folks across the government that were doing all this bidding of the, of Trump and, and, and Musk, including our friend there, um, some, some serious stuff. So we're going to, we're definitely going to be looking at that. Uh, Congressman Garcia, this has been therapeutic, informational, uh, I just appreciate you so much. I appreciate the work you're doing. And please tell Jamie Raskin, I want him on the pod next. Of course, I'll be here anytime. Thank you for all the work you do. Uh-huh. Bye-bye.

He also intends to investigate key figures from the Jeffrey Epstein case, including Todd Blanche and others involved in cover-ups.

The Republican committee has not held a single public hearing on the Epstein investigation, and key documents have not been released. Garcia says this is a cover-up, especially since Todd Blanche has not turned over over 3 million documents, including those related to the president.

The committee will use civil contempt powers to pursue legal action. This includes filing court cases to force compliance, as civil contempt does not require DOJ involvement and can be used to expose cover-ups and withhold information.
