Truist Championship | Fantasy Golf Preview & Picks, Sleepers, Data - DFS Golf & DraftKings

In this preview for the Truist Championship at Quail Hollow, the host emphasizes the course's historical preference for big bombers, particularly those who can drive the ball 315 yards or more in the air to avoid trouble. Rory McIlroy is the prime example, with a stellar record of four wins and consistent off-the-tee dominance, making him a high-floor pick despite potential ownership concerns. Cam Young, fresh off a win, and Xander Schauffele, who excels in ball-striking but struggles with putting, are also top-tier options. Matt Fitzpatrick is undervalued given his recent back-to-back wins and strong course history, while Sam Burns is a sleeper due to his renewed approach play and length. The course's "Green Mile" (holes 16-18) poses a significant challenge, and par-five scoring is a key stat. The listener league offers a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool with $25 entries, favoring top-heavy payouts. Overall, the analysis suggests focusing on elite drivers and long-iron players, with game theory considerations for lineup construction.

Well, what's up guys, Rick here with a preview for this week's truest championship. Clearly, I'm not at home. If you're watching, if you're listening, you can probably tell. Hopefully, if you're listening, you can't tell, but you can probably tell if you're watching, because I'm not in the stack cave. But I'm here in Pontavidra, again, great week last week, another signature event this week, next week, PGA Championship. I told you we'd be sprinting. Very much secretary at right now. We're golden tempo. Solve that. Yeah. Anyway, great event last week. I hope you guys enjoyed and thank you for those who tuned into PGA Tour Live. I'll do it again this week. I'm on the couch again. So it should be a lot of fun. Anyway, let's get to it. So truest championship for this week. And we have our listener league, which is $30,000 of guaranteed funds on splash, $25 an entry. I had a pretty good run in this last week. I had a couple of entries. I had Matt McCarty everywhere, but in my best entry, which nobody wants to hear bad beat stories. But $25 an entry, someone's going to win $3,000. The first payout more than doubles your investment, which is something that I like. So it's top heavy but flat at the same time, because you're going to have 200 people out of 1300 get paid. It's a pretty good structure. I'll just say that. So anyway, links in the description for that. If you want to join, it is picking golfers from each one of the tiers and the tiers are obviously ranked by how good the players are. All right, Quail Hollow. This is a golf course that we know a lot. And let's just do the history thing here for a second. So Quail Hollow has been played every year on the PGA Tour for a long time, but not always for this event. So truest championship last year. This was held at Philly Cricket Club. There was a couple of years ago where they didn't play because the president's cup was held here. There's a couple years before that. I think they did the same thing. So it has moved truest championship, Wells Fargo championship, Wacovia championship. What was it before that? First union bank, I think was the bank before that. Quail Hollow is on the schedule somewhere. It might not always be for this event. It might be for a major. For the PGA championship last year, it might be for a president's cup or something like that. But it's always on the schedule, which means we have a lot of really good data. Some of it's with different setups, but it's really good data nonetheless. And this definitely skews as sticky stat history. Guys that play well here often always play well here and vice versa. Roy McElroy is going to be the prime example of that. Roy McElroy is going to be a really good example of what this golf course rewards. And I'll show you the overhead. I'll show you the satellite imagery. And the thing, and last year at the PGA championship was my first time being at Quail Hollow. And it really did show me kind of what the data was saying. And for me, it is if you can hit it or carry it like 315 yards in the air, you remove a lot of the trouble and you put yourself in a lot of really strong situations. To try to put that in here, like here you go, like if you can just drive it past these bunkers, you're just like you've removed that as being an option for you. You know, if you hit into one of those bunkers, it's probably half-shot penalty. If they're not in play for you, there is no way to get that half-shot penalty. And the way that I would compare it is last week was like, yeah, if you're 10% longer than the field, you have maybe you have a 10% advantage, right? Because everything was just kind of out in front of you. It was no real secrets. But I think if you are 10% longer than the field or maybe that's not the case. But say you're in the top 10% of driving distance, you have like a 40% advantage, right? That's kind of how I describe it. You can see, you can fly basically all the trouble at 315 everywhere. And that's obviously course conditions and all that fun stuff. But yeah, it's a golf course that allows you to really bomb. This is the best stretch on the course right here. 14 around the water. 15 big boy par five. 16. Hello big boys running hot. 17 over the water. Come on home. Yeah, really good stretch. So the way that this ends up playing out is that Rory McOrd for example has such a high floor. He is almost certainly going to gain four or more strokes off the tee this week. Off the tee play is not something that kind of comes and goes like putting some days you wake up and you make a lot of putts, some days you don't. Iron play, maybe you're you're feeling it, maybe you're not feeling it, maybe you're getting bad lies, maybe whatever. Everybody plays from the same spot off the tee. You have a perfect lie, speed and distance is always there. And that's what you get here. Right. That's what that's what plays well here. So that's why these guys who can drive it like Rory like like maybe Chris Goddard is another good example for this week. They have such a high floor built in like Rory is going to gain four to six strokes off the tee. Okay. Now how does he get the other eight to win this golf tournament, which is probably what it's what it's going to take 14 15 something like that. Well, it's a lot easier for him than someone else who has to, you know, do that in a variety of different ways. Rory doesn't have to be perfect in the rest of his game because he has this really high floor. So that's kind of the way that I look at it. It's kind of it's the way that the these stats bear it out as well. I do love the ebbs and flows of quail hollow. It starts you and this is, you know, setup dependent and all that fun stuff. But basically the first the first six holes are brewed. And then you do get a reprieve a little bit in the middle of this golf course seven eight ten kind of on the easier side and then tough holes again. And then you the last the last chance to get on her par for 14 and 15 before you just get the gauntlet that is the green mile the three hardest holes on the golf course 16 17 18 and 18's got that creep that runs up the the left side of the fairway and just causes breaks all types of havoc. So it's a very cool setup statistically par five scoring skews really well and correlates really well to success. There's only three other courses in which par five scoring is more correlated to success. You'll see around the green and then some of the putting numbers and that point those putting numbers are kind of on the on the inward side, you know five to 15 feet. Maybe you get out to 20 feet. These are not long puts that guys are making. They're not early. So that's not the type of the model of the player that is separating themselves. It's kind of those 20% or right maybe obviously you know eight feet eight inches is the 50% mark but like that like 10 to 20 where you're somewhere between 25 and 40% to make it or maybe a little bit lower than that. That's where guys are really separating themselves and then you get driving distance ball speed club head speed T degree apex like yeah yeah big big bombers big bombers paradise here. There's a big reward for hitting it far. You're going to see a lot of shots come in from at least compared to tour average from outside of 175 yards. Colin Moore, Colin did just WD from this golf tournament so he's going to be removed from this as the salaries come out and as we talk about the rest of this but you know players who can move it. Kirk Kiteyama, Loki moves it right and and is a very good 175 and out player. Victor Havilland he's struggling with a lot of other aspects but like you see the guys that get the the approach adjustment when you add it all up it's probably no surprise that Zander and Rory are kind of in a class of their own on the overall adjusted fit. Zander has played great here. Rory has played great here obviously. Then you get Patrick Kent like Jake Naps Sam Burns keep it we'll keep an eye on on Jake Naps. He is he was through last week. You know had the wrist injury didn't really play in the programs will keep an eye on him as of this moment as of me talking to you. He's in this field. We'll talk about that some more and then Sam Burns we're going to talk about Sam Burns because I think that we're seeing things skew in his direction statistically and he's long enough to get a lot of the benefits of the T-Shots at Kweil Hollow. So big boy drivers long iron players are mid to long iron players. Guys who are hot. Cam Young might just win this thing again but yeah it's a cool little profile. Great golf course. I think it is a better golf course for the truest and the signature event than it is for the PGA championship or at least there wasn't enough difference and there wasn't it when I was at the PGA championship last year it didn't feel as special because we go to Kweil Hollow every year and it just felt kind of just like a big a big meaty PGA tour of it. So I like it in this setting a little bit more. So yeah okay well let's let's talk about the field. All right the cheat sheet rickrungood.com let's do let's do light mode today. Makes it easier for my eyes on my laptop quite honestly I'm getting old. Okay uh three golfers at the top of the board. Rory McElroy, Cam Young, Zander Shoffley, no doubt about it. It's these three maybe map fits Patrick. We'll get there. Let's start with Rory McElroy. So first off happy birthday Rory McElroy May 4th. Uh congratulations. We've got a situation of brewing here because if you like course forces there is no doubt about it that you like Rory McElroy at Quail Hollow. Not only is this his best venue on the PGA tour but it's one of the best player course combinations out there. Rory McElroy at Quail Hollow 14 starts 54 rounds, 2.5 strokes gained per round, 4 times a winner when he doesn't win, he finishes inside the top 10 seemingly every single time. This is what I was referring to previously. Look at the off the tee numbers here. He is gaining 1.3 strokes per round, nearly 1.4 strokes per round in 54 rounds at Quail Hollow. I don't know what happened in 2023, he was a zero. Every other year he is just demolishing this golf course off the tee. So when you think about that, he is probably 6 shots better than the field off the tee. Like I said, he's just got to get 8 more in the other areas and that's why he has such a high floor. It's why his results have been so good. So you're getting ridiculous course history. You're getting a man who has driven it like the best driver on the planet this year. He's well rounded, he's well rested, he's coming off the win at the Masters. He's raring up for this week PGA Championship. Like this is it. You know what I mean? If you're thinking about Rory and one and done and you haven't used him yet, you're probably thinking right. Now can we make lineups with him at 11,700? Probably. Probably. It'll be interesting to see. I don't know. There's always this weird thing of like, oh, is the guy who won last week gonna WD? Like his Kim Young gonna withdraw. I don't know why Woody. He's arguably, he could argue he's the best player in the world right now. I do not have a problem. And this is a little bit of, there'll be a little bit of game theory when we have the live chat on Wednesday. We'll know better what the projected ownership is going to be. There's also this weird thing where I was like, oh, he just won. He's not gonna win again. Bro, Kim Young is playing the best off in the world right now. He demolished that field last week. Now there's no Scotty Schaffler. He has the same advantage that Roy McElroy has. He is maybe better, well rounded, at least in the short game category. Is this floor is higher? The player's championship win. The Cadillac championship win. He lost a Rory T3 at the master. I mean, he's been unbelievable. He has been unbeatably the bull. I guess I should probably pull up his quail history. It's actually not that good. Last year the PGH Championship T-47, the year before that T-34, but we are in floodgate situation. He's fantastic. It's so good. I mean, it's always hard to talk about the guys at the top of board because they're the best players in the world. Xander Schaffler. I'm a sucker for Xander Schaffler. If I've already used Roy McElroy in one and done, and I've already used Kim Young in one and done, I might be using Xander Schaffler. His history here is very good. I have full of top 10 finishes. He is playing like one of the best players in the world, barring like three holes a week. 69 holes a week, he looks like the best player in the world. The ball-sharing game numbers are insane. The short game number is not that good. They're not horrible. He still is not flooded as well as he did in 2024. Maybe he's never coming back to that. That was the year he won two major championships. Maybe we never get back to that. But he is long off the tee. This is a course that is going to reward him. I'll be interested to see what the industry does with Elite Course Horse Master's Champion, Guy who is currently the front runner for player of the year, and Guy who we haven't seen win in a while. Then right below that is Matt Fitzpatrick, who honestly might be the second best Fitzpatrick in the field. No, no, I'm just kidding. I'm not really interested to see how the industry treats Xander alongside the rest of those guys in the 10K range. Again, I'm a sucker for Xander, so maybe I should not think too deeply about this, but all three of those guys are great. Matt Fitzpatrick, why is Matt Fitzpatrick not more expensive? What is Matt Fitzpatrick's record? If you go to the golfer profiles, last 50 rounds for everybody in the field, best player in the world, Roy Maccarrie, or a second best player in the world, Matt Fitzpatrick. Back to back wins. Even if you don't want to give him the Zirk win, he won at Harbor Town, he won at Valspar. Finish runner-up of the player's championship. This is going to be a little bit different than those venues. Let me pull up his history here. Oh my God, Matt. T-8 at the PGA Championship last year, where he gained nearly six strokes on approach, complete gain. Wow, I was not necessarily remembering that. This is such an unbelievable run for him. He has beaten these players all year long. Is he really going to do it again? What if we didn't go, oh boy? If you just skipped Roy and Cam Young and went Zander and Matt Fitzpatrick, I wonder what kind of lineups you can make. I imagine you will be incredibly different than everybody. What percentage of lineups are going to have either Roy or Cam Young? 60, 65%. Maybe something in that realm. The big four, we need to discuss a lot more on Wednesday because it is a game theory roster construction conversation that we need to have. Not A are these guys good or not because they are all incredibly great. Just to put my own feet to the fire, I would probably rank them as Rory at like a 99. Cam Young at like a 98. Zander at like a 92 fits it like a 91. Maybe something like that. A little bit of a gap there. All of them are fantastic. The 9K range. I want to go straight down to Sam Burns. Sam Burns, if you look at this, a couple of years ago, remember when Sam Burns won five times just like right out of it, not right out of gate, but he won five times in whatever amount of stretch that was. He was an approach player, a potter who was long. We are getting that again. Four straight starts in which he is getting strokes on approach. Five out of his last six with a potter. He was a zero last week, but he is a dominant potter. He is long enough on the tee to get the benefits of being long off the tee. We have got a five tournament stretch where he is playing very solid golf in big time events. 13th at the players, 21st and Houston, 7th at the master, 16th at Harbor Town and then an OK finish, 38th last week at the Cadillac Championship, which again he didn't particularly putt well. Had a top 20 here last year at the PGA Championship, had a top 15 here at the in 2024. He was part of the presence cup team here in 2022. A lot of experience. I think Sam Burns is one of my sneaky favorite guys this week. I have not been a big Sam Burns guy. For me to make that admission, I think it is a big deal. Let me just check his 35th in driving distance. All drives. Sprays it a little bit. That's OK. No big deal. No big deal. Yeah. Sam Burns is probably my favorite in the 9K range. I assume many will opt for Ludwig. I think that is fine. I am not going to beat you up for that. I think that Ricky is interesting at 9000 and I think C.R. was interesting at 94. C.R. Kim is having and I tweeted this out. He is having the best year of his career by a wide margin, a very wide margin. He is gaining 1.5 strokes per round this year in 13starts. He has 5 top 10s. He has as many. I don't want to call them final groups because that is technically not true. He has been T2 or better after 54 holes. What would conceivably get you in the final group, both ties and stuff like that. Three times this year, which is the most on tour tied with Skydish Eftler. Has not converted the win yet. This is a staff profile that demands winning. Lost 4 strokes. He is capable of heating up that flat stick. It is not always losing through 4 strokes on the punting services. Just in his start at the RBC heritage, he gained nearly 5. He gained 2.5 at the Laira Texas Open. He has had a couple of weeks where he has been slightly positive. That is resulting in these fantastic finishes because he is just teetogreening the ball today. He is getting 1.54 strokes total. 154. 153 of them are from teetogreen. He is getting literally nothing out of the potter. At some point, it is a detriment to him. That is really, really strong stuff if you can make a couple of pots. Let's look at his history here. I want to click this. I am hoping that when I reveal Quill Hollow, he has got like 3 years of his game strokes punting. No, but his most recent year, which was the the G.H. Championship, he gained seven strokes, but he near prior to that, he lost five, he lost three and a half, he lost three, he lost five. I can convince myself of that, no problem there. So Seawoo, uh, back at it again, in the lineups. Ricky, can we check and see what Ricky's distance is this year? Oh gosh, that's what I was worried about. One tenth in driving distance, um, 19th in accuracy, which is nice. He's played so well. I don't know if this is a great spot form. I think it's a okay spot form, I don't think it's a great spot form. Back to back top 10s. The only two events that he probably was just pretty much pressure on himself were before the play, uh, before the masters where he missed two cuts. You look at his history here though, it's, it's not, it's not great recently. Miss cut 43rd, 14th cut. Going back to 2019. It's a lot better. I mean, he was a, he was a better player. He was much better off the tee in those years. I love Ricky. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays well this week, but if he does, it's probably going to be without, without me. Okay, the AK range, excellent play by Adam Scott on the weekend last week, gained 12 strokes on the weekend. Uh, I mean, he was in like dead last, uh, after the first round, he ends up finishing in a tie for fourth. He is working with Trevor Rimmelman, uh, on a lot of things, but with specifically with the putter and they've made an adjustment to the way that he handles that broomstick in the way he kind of treats his, uh, left arm a little bit and it worked great on the weekend. If, if that is, if that is something that can continue the way that he put it on the weekend, watch out because look at his approach numbers. He has not lost strokes on approach since last year's open championship and we're talking about multiple per round. Justin is less four starts alone. He is up six, twelve, eighteen, he's up like 22 strokes on approach in 16 rounds. It's that good. He's long off the tee, um, the longest he's ever been. I'm sure he's got a ton of history around Kweil Hollow. He does. It's okay. 19th at last year's PGA 29th in 2024, T five in 2023. It's not as good prior to that except for back when it was, you know, 20, 2005, 2006, 2007, but there's a convergence of really good play metrics overlaid onto this golf course and I completely get it. Ben Griffin is next to $8700. I'm not sold on Ben Griffin, but I'm thinking about it. I'm negotiating. I'm texting him like, hey, you know, can you knock off 10% because I'm a loyal customer. Like, you know, I mean, I'm, I'm, I'm working on it. I haven't reached into my wallet yet. I'm like doing the math in my head about what it's going to cost me. There is this thing. There's a, there's like, this is all narrative, which I don't usually wait in those waters. But it is 100% clear that he put way too much pressure on himself to try to recreate what he did in 2025 here in 2026 and that was never going to happen. What do you have three wins last year? Like top five in the, whatever it ends up being in the FedEx cup. It just, it was never going to happen. And JJ spawn did the same thing and he came out and said, like, yeah, I put way too much pressure on myself. And now I just like I knew that that was bad. Ben Griffin is doing the same thing. However, much like JJ spawn, this is starting to tighten. The driver, which was horrendous to start the year, is tightening and he's now neutral to a small positive. The putter has always been great. The approach play, I need to get there. He needs to get there. But we're getting better finishes. Five straight, thirty thirds are better. There's also this other thing where we've seen guys get a spark from the Zurich Classic. The Zurich Classic is an event where you don't have to play your own ball. It's very different. You get to play with a buddy. You have, you go out, you have a good week and then boom, a lot of guys can continue that. It's just kind of, it like resets the brain. So he finishes T10, the Zurich and now third place finish at the Cadillac last week. Despite the fact that he lost strokes on the approach. He is long enough to make a difference here. His short game is good enough to make a difference here. I need to get him dialed in a little bit on some of these iron shots. I mean, he finished TA here at the PGH Championship last year and that was right when he was playing the best golf this life. But he can do this. This is mental to me. This is not physical. And I know I don't like to get into that but I'm almost certain of it. So I'm seeing it come out of Ben Griffin. It'll be really interesting to see what he does this week. Chris Goddrup is probably in the class of like the Rory McElroy's and the, you know, whoever at the Zander Shoffley's where they are just, like Chris Goddrup is going to gain four strokes off the tee this week. I'm almost certain of it. Is he going to lose six strokes on approach like he did last week? Well, I certainly hope not. And that is something that he hasn't done in a very long time. In fact, Sony opened that he won. It was the last time he lost strokes and it was a tenth of a stroke over four days. So I give him grace that he will figure this thing out. But that's the only piece missing. And he's going to wake, he's going to step up to the tee and love this place. Did he play here last year? You know, he has his, his mate. No, he's going to be a debut time again. His major, like his major record is weird for a guy who has as many wins as he does. But he did him at a time where like it was, you know, he has, I think the Masters was his first Masters. I think is the PGA going to be his first PGA? No, it'll be his second. He played about, he played about Halle, but he didn't play last year. Like, how does this guy who has four wins or something only have played in five major championships? Like it just, I don't know, it's weird. But this is, this is going to be one of the better spots for him. Same thing for Min Woo Lee. Min Woo's going to gain, I'll tell you what, Min Woo and this, I tracked him a lot on Sunday because he was the fifth leg of a five. You know, when I'm in Florida and I've accessed the hard rock, I do stupid things, but this one worked. A five leg top 20 that cashed for me, 61 to 1. But he was the last leg. So I was tracking him all Sunday long. I thought he was pretty gritty, right? Well, he could have given it up. He made a couple of really solid pots. He put himself in some awkward spots off the tee and was able to hit some really impressive recovery shots. A fairway bunker play was fantastic. A couple of long plush to keep the momentum going. He played well coming down the stretch, which is the most difficult part of D'Arral from last week of the Blue Monster. And I think that this is similar to Chris Goddard, a better spot for him. Chris Goddard, Min Woo Lee, are similar in the sense that you're not always going to be okay with just a bunch of water on big misses out there off the tee. That's going to be a problem sometimes, but this week is, I think, just such a better fit form. We are toning down the Jordan's spieth optimism, just to touch. He's so long off the tee. But after telling us that he's hitting the ball the best he ever has, talking about his approach play, he's lost strokes in each of his last two starts. The potter is carrying him a little bit, which is fine because you're Jordan's spieth, but it's not necessarily okay because you're still looking at this as a stat profile. So this is a little bit of a concern. And also the fact that he just remains incredibly inconsistent. From day to day, from shot to shot, you just no idea what you're going to get. He's missed the cut in two of his last three trips here. He finished 29th in the middle. Has never cracked the top 25 at Kweil Hollow. So he's probably going to have to go to battle this week without me and his back pocket. I'm a little bit stunned at how much value there is here in the 7K range. There's a lot of these guys I like. JJ spawned first and foremost, $7,900, another good finish last week. He said it. He said, "Hey, I was putting a lot of pressure on myself. I've stopped doing that." And he's been fantastic on approach. He's gaining a ton of strokes over his last six or seven starts. The driver's been better. He's accurate. He's not long enough to get that advantage. But there's other ways that he can do that. The potter's still a problem, but he lost a stroke and half putting last week and finished T14. It tells you about the state of his T-degree play. And it's why he is upper right hand quadrant, second to only Matt Fitzpatrick of these breakout candidate guys, which is like, "Hey, how are you hitting it compared to your baseline? How are you putting compared to your baseline?" And it says, "JJ spawn is T-degreeing it way better than he ever has." And he's leaving a lot on the table with the putter. If he gets back to his own baseline, he is just on breakout watch. He's just breakout city. He's just exactly where you'd want him. So there's a lot of stuff that points to J.J. spawn being a very interesting and delightful play for this week. I don't know why I call him delightful. Kurt Kadeyama is long. Kurt Kadeyama is flush. Kurt Kadeyama has a pair of top 10s. He's got a T2 at Riviera. He's got a T18 at API. He's doing it in a lot of different venues in a lot of different ways. And he is long enough to get access to success here. He's a winner. He is one, I guess it was Bay Hill before it was a signature event. He's one of the three I'm open, big field with a cut. The concern is that he's putted like, "Dudu here. He's got eight total rounds and he's losing seven and a half strokes putting." That's going to be the big question mark. And also because of his nature where he is a lose five gain four type of player, nine ten shot difference in putting. He is a little bit high risk high reward. So he's great for DFS if you're trying to win all the money. He's great for one and done if you're trying to win all the money. He's probably not great for like, you know. for a matchup against so-and-so. But like, there's a lot of, I love this guy. And I love the way he's playing in $7,800 as a criminal, Oxhate 77. We've gotta keep the ball dry. We've gotta keep the ball and play off the tee. If he does that, he's one of the better players. I think it's gonna be a lot easier for him to keep it in play this week than it was last week. Although maybe not, because his last three trips to Krell Hollow have been miserable losses off the tee. Geez, I was not expecting that. He's also like 10 strokes off the tee in his last 10 rounds. Maybe this is not the week for Oxhate. Gary Woodland. I think I just have to keep mentioning, every time he's $7,600, he continues to be driver-putter with upside-on approach, which is about as much as you can ask for from someone in this range. He missed the cut of the PGH Championship last year. That was probably in the midst of some of the worst we've seen from him. He has good Krell Hollow results prior to that. Three straight made cuts, fifth, 14, 38, one to top 25 prior. He's such a different guy right now. Alex Smalley. Alex Smalley has now gotten better. So he went 46th, 21st, 14th, runner up, 7th. And if you get rid of the Zurich, which is the runner up, that's one, two, three, it's like four straight improvements in individual stroke play events. And the approach play is, dare I say bonkers? Where is Alex Smalley? My overlooking, oh, he's right here. One, but 0.45 strokes on approach. Well, let's cherry pick this a little bit. Since we got to March, since March 1st, I'm cherry picking him. So you owe me here, Alex. Since March 1st, he's the seventh best approach player on tour. Behind Adam Scott, Zander Schoffle, JJ Spawn, Ludwig Daniel Burger, Kim Young, and he's played tie with JJ Spawn the most starts since then. And he's played the most rounds, 28 rounds. Wow, it's really good. He found something, and it's, I mean, 28 rounds is a pretty big sample size. And it's not like he's a bad putter. This is, he is undervalued. He's a very good player. And this is, this is a good spot for him. He also gave away, I mean, he just, we were on 15 in the linear window this week. So I saw like everybody play 15. He must have given away like three strokes on 15 and doing like pretty stupid, stupid stuff all week. But, say it all, be it. Sam Stevens, Sam Stevens, Sam Stevens is top 20 machine. 13th dessert, 18th of Cadillac, 5th in Houston, 24th of the Masters, bunch of top 25s before that. I don't know, just nobody plays him. Nobody likes him. Nobody ever talks about him. It's a great player. Really good player. I don't have anything else to say. Matt McCarty also a dude, Matt McCarty flushed it last week. I again was like shop I shout tracking Matt McCarty. He was second in approach, 5.7 strokes on approach was, wow, I just stuttered. He was stuffing everything, everything. He's not long. He is going to have to play out of the fairway. He has to. If he does, watch out. Look at, look at these results. 39th, 24th, 12th, 10th, 9th, very solid, almost complete gains here and there. I mean, the police flushing, just, it's so good. It's so good. Okay, the 6K reign is interesting. I think there's a lot of good options here too. I'll try to go a little bit quicker. Alex, it's Patrick gained 4.1 strokes off the T at the Cadillac Championship, 4.1 off the T. He is one of the longer, better drivers in the world. You might not see that because he's now just coming over to the PGA Tour for the first time. But on measured events on the DP World Tour, he gained in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 straight before the Cadillac Championship. So he has eight straight starts, gaining strokes off the T. He is long. He gained another three on approach. Cannot plot. That's okay. He's $1,600, $1,600 and obviously playing. So he's going win, win, T9. He actually, no, I should give you say that. South Africa, 14th, the Johannesburg Open, 6th, win in India, win in the Zurich, 9th of the Cadillac. He belongs. He belongs. Blood Cully will filter him into the the Matt McCarty range. I laugh because he's in the website, not really ready for someone to lose 10 strokes putting. And it just jams, just jams that chip in there, the value into the chip and it looks so funny. But Cully lost 11 strokes putting last week. He finished 38. He gained 10 from T-Degrees, so he was a slight negative player last week. I doubt he's going to lose 10 strokes putting again, because it's a historically bad number. He was fantastic from T-Degrees. Let's see if he has played, I'm sure he's played it quite well before. P.J. Championship last year, 70, yeah. I mean, this is not great. He's never cracked the top 30, but he's also $6,800. And a small few, and he gained 10 strokes from T-Degrees last week, I was not expecting that. Aldrich Pockyder will drive you nuts if you track him. If you don't track him, you'll see that he's going to do the Rory McElroy thing where he's going to just bomb it all over this place. He's never played at Quail Hollow. Maybe that's a good thing. High risk high reward. He might finish last, he might finish. First, Sudarshan Yellow Mirageu played himself out of this on Saturday, was much better on Friday, was much better on Sunday. That's probably the first time we've seen him. I guess not. He was a little inconsistent at Harbor Town. So now, we've had two starts in a row for him that are him playing two good rounds, two bad rounds. I don't think it's that big of an issue. Again, it's kind of like Gary Woodland. If you're going to give me this price on him, I have to bite. If you're just going to go with the horrible putters in the great T-Degrees players, like Bud Cully, Taylor Pendrath is here as well. The other thing that's interesting about Taylor Pendrath is he's also, he's basically right next to Bud Cully, just in that upper right hand quadrant of the breakout candidates where it's like, hey, you can't be this bad. You can't be this bad at putting. You can't. We've seen you do this before. We're going off of your own baseline. We're not going off of the tour average or anything. We're just asking you to get back to your own baseline and it's going to be just fine. So, boy, Bud Cully thing really threw me through a loop. All right. Let's do a model here again, Rickrunkred.com. I'm going to start down here. I'm going to go course history. I do think it is important. And this is a golf course called Query Hollow. OK. So 17. I will also then do long courses for five. And what I'm going to do is this. I'm going to use the radar stuff. And we're going to do-- you want clubs, speed, ball, speed, carry. I guess it's carry, right? Although, what we can do is this. We'll do town carry, 10 on high apex. Then we'll do stroke-skinned approach for 10. But what we're going to do is we are going to add in that 150 to 2808 there. So we've got 24 left. It give me like 6 on scrambling. And I'll do 9 on pots from 10 to 15 and 9 from pots to 15 to 20, which is actually pretty nice because this is almost ripped straight from the key stats model. A lot of this stuff was on there. All right. Ooh. Xander number one. First off, this is really tight. The first five guys are separated by less than five points, which is pretty rare to see that. Then there is a little bit of gap to number six. But so the top five here are very, very tight. Xander, Nikolai Hoigard, Ludwig, Hadecki, Rory McAurray. That's your top five. Nice. Adam Scott is starting the next tier. Sixth, Ricky, seven, Victor, eight, Woodland, nine, Rose, 10. Rose is kind of an anomaly because who knows what he's going to do with the equipment? I think he did hit it better on Sunday, though. But he was already dead last. You're just like-- you're getting Gary Woodland modeling like a top 10 player for $7,600. And until that price changes, he's just going to show up here all the time. And I'm going to have to talk about him. I really am. There's just no way about it. Seawoo averaging as a-- see, see, see, see. Cool. I set it again. Seawoo does not get a-- he's like middle of the pack here. Does not get a good score because of his lack of distance. Interesting. OK, well, listen, we got work to do. I got work to do. I'm at the glow hoe. We're going to-- I got to do all my stuff, do all my data, do all my fun things. And then I'll be on Betcast this week. And we have a live channel Wednesday. I already played golf this morning. That's the thing about being on the East Coast. I just already played nine holes this morning. It's kind of crazy. OK, well, I won't bore you with any more of that. Best of luck this week. Talk to you guys very soon. [MUSIC PLAYING] (upbeat music)
