Speaker 1Welcome to the Word Laundry Radio, brought to you by G.W. Arthur Ministries. Enjoy. Father, it is such a privilege of giving to men. You send your Word and greet with the company of them that publish it. And your Word rises swiftly upon the earth. Your Word has a free course. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Thank you, Blessed Lord. Thank you for the unveiling of truth. The shedding forth of light. Thank you for transfiguration, transformation. With all our heart we receive your engrafted Word of God and blessed Holy Spirit you are having preeminence in this place. Have your Word and brood upon us in glory. Thank you, Father. In Jesus' name, the Son of the Living God, Amen. Amen. So, I'd like us to read the anchor verse for our meeting. Just a second, Corrine. Just a second, Corinthians, chapter 3, verse 18. But we all, with open face, unveiled face, beholding, as in the glass, the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. Hallelujah. The service is very important because it's about beholding the Lord, which is centrality to our walk in the faith. Apostle Paul prayed a prayer in Ephesians chapter 1:17, 18, 19. A very important prayer. He said, he prayed for the church, the Ephesian church, that God will grant unto them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, the eyes of their understanding being enlightened, that they may know what is the hope of his calling and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the same way are, that they may know what is the hope of his calling and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the same way are, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to ask for. Now, a very important prayer Apostle Paul prayed for the church. And this prayer is recorded so that we can pray the same. And in this prayer package are the most important things we need for our Christian walk. So firstly, Apostle Paul prayed that we will have the power to ask for the power of God. We will have the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. Of him. Speaking of Christ. In the knowledge of him. The first important thing you can ever embrace as a Christian is the knowledge of him. Is to know him. That's what is most important. That's our primary calling. Is to know him. But Ephesians 1, 17, 18. The Greek word is epignosis. It's not just the ordinary knowledge of Christ as we have known from Sunday school. So epignosis is the exact knowledge of him. The precise knowledge of him. The complete knowledge of him. The full knowledge of him. And that comes by revelation. So the first thing we will come to. Precise, exact, complete and the full knowledge of who Jesus is. Hallelujah. That's very important. So that's our first primary pursuit. Now number two. The second thing. Is to know what is the hope of his calling. The summary of this. What is the hope of his calling. Actually it is. To know. Who you are in Christ. And the third thing. Is to know the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. The third thing is what belongs to us in Christ. The fourth. The exceeding greatness of his power to us all. What we can do in Christ. Hallelujah. These four things are very important. So the first is. The precise knowledge of who Jesus is. Yeah. Then also knowing who we are in Christ. What belongs to us in Christ. What you can do in Christ by his power. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Very important. Now, 2 Corinthians 3:18 will bring us to the very knowledge of Jesus Christ, who he is. Because the beholding is all about Jesus. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. About Jesus. But the verse says that, but we all with an unveiled face or with an open face beholding as in the mirror of the glory of God, we are changed. King James has changed. Other versions say it's transformed. But I'd love to use the word transfigured because it's in the Greek. Transfigured. We are transfigured into the same image from glory to glory. Praise God. Praise the Lord. So, whether change or transformation or transfiguration, where does it take place? Now, it takes place in our souls. Now, you should understand that your spirit, soul, and body, see, your spirit, soul, and body, your spirit doesn't need transformation. The place of transformation. Formation is your soul. If you are born again, if you know Jesus, if you have given your life to Jesus, your spirit is born again. Now, when you give your life to Christ, what is born again is your spirit. That which is born of the spirit is spirit. That's what Jesus said. Being born again, not of the corruptible seed, but the incorruptible, even the word of God, which he lived and abided forever. You see, 1 Peter 1:23. Now, when you read Ephesians 4:24, the Bible tells us that, "Put on the new man which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." Put on the new man which after God, your spirit is the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Now, that is Ephesians 4:24. Now, when you read it in the Greek, and also compared with other versions, it actually says that, "Put on the new man which according to who God is has been created." Put on the new man which according to who God is has been created in righteousness and the holiness of the truth. So, your spirit that is born again is created just like God. It's just like God. Praise God. Your spirit is just like God. It is created according to who God is. Because your spirit has the very life, the nature and the essence of God. So, as you are seated here, you see, So, as you are seated here, you see, the Bible says that, for as He is, so are we in this world. for as He is, so are we in this world. Praise God. Praise God. In primary sense, when the Bible says, "As He is, so are we in this world," it's talking about our spirit. Your spirit is like Jesus. Because your spirit is born again with His life. And your spirit has the very life of God in it. The nature of God in it. The righteousness of God is in your spirit. Your spirit is identical with Jesus. He is, so are we in this world. Hallelujah! As He is, so are we in this world. It's not just our physical body. Our physical body will be like Him. When He comes, we shall be like. We shall see Him as He is. So, our souls. There's work to do in our souls. There's a lot of work to do in our bodies. But our spirit. is sealed with the Holy Spirit. In fact, your spirit and the Holy Ghost are so one that we can't even tell the difference. That's why the Bible says, "He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit." That's why the Bible says, "He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit." So, not two spirits. So, you and the Holy Ghost, one spirit. Like mixing water with water. When you pour water in water, it is indistinguishable. You can't separate them. That is what your spirit is. So, sometimes people have to tell the fruit of the Spirit. Is it your spirit or the Holy Ghost? But it's the mingled spirit. We have become one. Hallelujah! So, if you are to see your spirit, it's like Jesus. It's born again. It has the life of God. Hallelujah! It's just like Jesus. But the seed of your humanity, what needs transformation is your soul. So, the work ought to be in your soul. Then it comes to your body. Hallelujah! When your soul is affected, it flows to your body. It's connected. For instance, when you are always feeling depressed, it doesn't be long, you start feeling sick. The state of the soul affects the body. When you are worried, when you are downcast, when you are discouraged, very soon, it will spill over your body. In the same way, way, if you take in the word of God and you start your mind is affected by the word of God. The first expression is peace. When you start experiencing peace, it flows into your body. You have health. So we are connected. Hallelujah. But your spirit is saved. It's born again. But all our problems, all our character flaws has to do with the soul and the body. So we are speaking of transformation. It has to do with our souls. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Praise God. Hallelujah. So let's go to our verse. 2 Corinthians 3 verse 18. It starts by saying, but we all. But we all. But we all. You know, you don't begin a sentence by saying but. So you just have to go back. To understand what he's saying. Because the word but is like a contrast to something he has been saying previously. Is that not so? So I want us to see verse 17. Verse 17 of 2 Corinthians. Now the Lord is that spirit. And where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Let me even start from 16. Nevertheless, when you shall be tender to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Now this is a wonderful story. I'll come back to it later. But what happened was that Moses, you know the story, when Moses received the Ten Commandments and he stood in the presence of the Lord, his face was shining so much that the Israelites couldn't behold him. So he had to put a veil on his face. How many of you remember that story? He put a veil on his face. And this was it. Whenever he comes to speak with the people, he had to put the veil before his face. But whenever he stood before the Lord, he had to take away the veil. Okay. So Moses, standing before God, took away the veil. And Moses had the privilege Israel couldn't have. He was the only person who had such exclusive access to the Lord. To behold the Lord face to face without a veil. Nothing impeding his sight. Nothing being an impediment to beholding the beauties and the glories of the Lord. The Bible says that when Moses turned to the Lord, the veil was removed and he worshipped God. Later I'll tell you what the veil is. So the whole Israelites, only Moses had that privilege. Praise God. Of standing on the, you know Mount Sinai was in three sections. There was a base in the topmost section of the mount. The base of the mountain. All Israel were at the base of the mountain. Then God called 70 nobles to be on top of the mountain. On top of the mountain. 70 nobles to be on top of the mountain. And in Exodus 24 verse 11 even on top of the mountain, the nobles had a party with God. They had a party with God. The Bible says they ate and drank with God. Can you imagine? That's what the Bible says. They ate and drank with God. And in that dinner with God, the Lord's presence was manifested. They saw the feet of God as it were. The paved work of surface stone as the body of heaven in clearness. They saw the glory of God. The Bible says, and God did not lay his hands on them. You know what it means? God did not lay his hands on them, although they had a party with God. Because God is holy. He's a trice holy God, and they are sinners. So holiness and sin cannot cohabit. So God should have struck them with judgment. Nevertheless, God didn't lay hands on them. Why? Because in verse 8 of Exodus 24, Moses had shed the blood. It was the blood of the covenant. By reason of the blood, judgment was averted, and God could dine with his people. Praise God. Because when there is blood, God cannot bring judgment. Blood means judgment has already taken place by an innocent victim. So you are spared and you are free because another has taken your judgment. Praise God. So, Moses was called to another section higher to be with the Lord. Only Moses had this privilege, but that was the old covenant. But in the new covenant, the Bible says, but we all. Not just Moses. All of us have the same privilege. But we all. So it's not just Moses. It's everybody. Mother, son, daughter, child, everybody. But we all. But we all. In that covenant, only one person had that privilege. That is Moses. But in the New Testament, we all. We all. Brethren, every one of us can access the presence of God. In fact, we are carriers of His presence. There is no barrier. There is no barricade. There is no any impediment. Praise the Lord. Now you can go to the presence of God. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus. By a new and a living way which He has consecrated for us. Through the veil. That is to say, through His flesh. So what it means is that today, every one of us can go and die with God no matter what you have done. You know why? Because there is the blood. There is the blood. The pathway is the blood. The blood means that your judgment has already been born. So there is no more judgment for you. So no matter what you have done, you can enter the presence. Now, understand this. There was a veil that separated God from us. There was a thick veil. In the Old Testament, in the temple, the veil was so thick that Flavian Josephus, the historian, would tell us that it took about 300 priests to manipulate the veil. It was three to four inches thick. It was heavy. But blessed be God, when Jesus died, the veil was torn. It was torn from top to bottom. And when it was torn, you know what happened? God came out to welcome us home. So today, it's not just Moses. All of us. And there's no judgment against you because the blood has already been shed. Today, we can party and dine with God like the nobles. If they were accepted by the blood of bulls and by the blood of goats, could accept them and that could abate judgment. How much more shall the blood of Christ through the eternal spirit offer himself without support unto God, purge your conscience from dead works to save the living God. We are under better covenant, established upon better promises. Hallelujah. By the redeeming blood of Jesus. We all, say I have an access. We all. We are sons and daughters. There's no judgment against you because there is a blood. Judgment has already been taken for you. There is a blood. Don't think God can only hear you and accept you when you have lived well. That's a fallacy. You can go in every day. Whether you have lived well or you have not lived well, where are you going? He's your father. You have only one place to go. Keep going to him. Keep going to him. It is called a new and a living way. The more you go, the more you live. Previously, it was an old and a dying way. It was a fearful way because if you touch a mountain, you don't even trust through with a sword. It was fearful to approach the presence of God. But now, it's a new and a living way for us. Hallelujah. But we all. But we all. Then he says with an unveiled face. King James says with an open face. With an unveiled face. Behold. Beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord. You see, the only way we can see the glory of the Lord is to behold with an unveiled face. Let me ask you a question. If there is a veil, like a sister covering the head, if you use what covers your head as a veil, you can't see what is before you. Can you? Yeah. Yeah. But many are beholding the glory of the Lord with veils. Okay. But the way we can see his glory is when they're beholding the glory of the Lord. There is no veil. There is no veil. So, many are wondering why. Tonight, I want to tell you how you can change effortlessly. Many are trying to change. Change can be very difficult. You know why? Look at all the decisions and resolutions you made when the year began. But I want to ask you if you have been able to fulfill them. Because when the year is beginning, you make a very long resolution, so I'll do this. Somebody made a resolution and said, by the end of the year, I will buy a car. And he said, by the end of the year, I'll build my business. By the time it was December, nothing was happening. November, nothing was happening. So, he went back to his resolution. Then when he wrote, I'll build a car, he just made it added pets. I'll buy a car. He just added pets. I'll buy a carpet. He said, it's not by force. I wrote it and I can change it. Then what he wrote, I will build my business. You know, he canceled the build and wrote mind. I will build my own business. That's what he wrote. Then he changed the build to make it what? Mind. I will mind my own business. That changed my mind. can be very difficult yes now some things are hoping to change you have fasted you have prayed you have tited you've done everything but there is no change especially in the area of character you've done everything and you are wondering if there's hope at all yeah you've used the effort if you use your strength if you use the ability you've done everything you've wept you've cried you've prostrated on the floor you've rode on the floor you've done everything in fast times often but no change I'm going to show you tonight how you can have an effortless change a young man one day told me that he was having the kind of last problems he could see some desire desire problem up in his body he went to go there's a lot take away every desire from me I don't want to even get better again take away take it away I don't want any take it away that guy has given me the children yeah so so we love the Lord we want to save him we want to follow him but the method we use most of time doesn't work because though we are sincerely in love with the Lord we are using the wrong approach and the wrong method and don't get a result praise the Lord but you see it is when there is no view just when you take away the view that you can see the glory of the Lord and what is this view now if you read the whole chapter of 2nd Quintus 3 now if you read the whole chapter of 2nd Quintus 3 it's amazing the whole chapter is about the New it's amazing the whole chapter is about the New it's amazing the whole chapter is about the New Testament in the Old Testament it's about Testament in the Old Testament it's about Testament in the Old Testament it's about law and grace it's about to comment law and grace it's about to comment law and grace it's about to comment that's the contents of the chapter that's the contents of the chapter that's the contents of the chapter praise the Lord now the veil that was praise the Lord now the veil that was praise the Lord now the veil that was spoke about possible about literally is spoke about possible about literally is spoke about possible about literally is law mentality having a big deal is having law mentality having a big deal is having law mentality having a big

fading you can see when you the law is fading you can see when you unveiled because the bill stands for the unveiled because the bill stands for the unveiled because the bill stands for the law the law mentality you can't also see law the law mentality you can't also see law the law mentality you can't also see well okay so the veil is all about law well okay so the veil is all about law well okay so the veil is all about law mentality the veil is having faith in mentality the veil is having faith in mentality the veil is having faith in what you can do instead of what he has what you can do instead of what he has what you can do instead of what he has done fit in what you can do instead of done fit in what you can do instead of done fit in what you can do instead of what he has done now the veil is seeing what he has done now the veil is seeing what he has done now the veil is seeing yourself it's all about your ability yourself it's all about your ability yourself it's all about your ability your strength and what he can do because your strength and what he can do because your strength and what he can do because the noise about that the law is you the noise about that the law is you the noise about that the law is you shall you shall what you must do using shall you shall what you must do using shall you shall what you must do using your strength what you can end what you your strength what you can end what you your strength what you can end what you can merit Moses time for the law he says that even now when Moses is read, the veil is still upon their faces. He's not talking about the person of Moses, the books of Moses. Now when the Bible says Moses, it's not always his person. It's talking about the books of Moses. It's when Moses is read, not the person of Moses, but the books of Moses. The veil is still upon them. So they have no mentality. All that is how to do it, how to do this, how to do this, how to do this, how to do this. Doing, doing. They are veiled in their mentality and consciousness that now they cannot see Jesus. And they cannot see who he is and what he has done. All that they are preoccupied with. It's what I have to do, what I have to do, what I have to do, what I have to do. So what I have to do, what I have to do, what I have to do, instead of what he has done, what he has done. Many have faith in what they must do instead of faith in what he has done. Because they are veiled. They cannot see his glory. They cannot see what he did. Most of the things we are trying to do, he has already done it. But we cannot see. But we have so much confidence in what we must do, what we must earn, what we must deserve. You see. So you can say, okay, okay. I'm going to try and live holy enough so that God will accept me. I want to live holy enough so that God will accept me. There is a veil. What you are seeing is what you must do. What you must do. But when the veil is removed, God doesn't accept you because of your holiness. God accepts you because of his holiness. God doesn't accept you because of your obedience. God accepts you because of his obedience. The holiness is good, but the motive is wrong. Praise God. So, what you must do, what you must do, what I must earn, what I must deserve. The moment we begin to see Jesus, who he is and what he has done, you can see the veil is off. It's not you, you, you, you. It's seeing him, him, him, him. It's seeing Jesus, Jesus. Jesus, not seeing what I must do. What should I do? What should I do? What should I do? What can I do? Have you realized that the Ten Commandments, all the ten times it says, Damsha, Damsha. Damsha is what? You shall. You shall. You shall. Ten times. But in the New Testament, the commandment of the New Testament is in Hebrews chapter 8, beginning from 7 to 13. God says, I will, I will, five times. What's the difference between you shall, you shall, and I will, I will? You shall has the focus on you doing something. I will, I will has the focus on God doing something. So, ten times it says, Damsha. Then five times, five times in the name of grace it says, I will, I will. It's God doing something for you. You see, the law will tell you, love your neighbor as yourself. That's good. But it will not give you power to love your neighbor and condemn you for not loving your neighbor. But under the grace of God, the grace of God will supply God's love in your heart and tell you to love your neighbor and reward you for loving your neighbor. That's the difference. Hallelujah. It's the same, but one is you supplying the strength, and that one is God actually supplying the strength. So, this is it. Once you see Jesus, who he is and what he has done, the veil is off.
Speaker 2But when there is veil,
Speaker 1you don't see him and what he has done. You're occupied with faith in what you can do instead of faith in what he has done. So, I must do this. I must do this. I must do this. I must do this. I must do this. Okay. So, there are many people here in church Okay. So, let me come to church and I'm going to do very well in church. Now, it's very slim. I'm going to act. I'm going to say very well in church that by serving God will have mercy upon me and do something for me and bless me. It looks very spiritual, but it is not. Do you remember Luke chapter 15? The prodigal son and his elder brother. You know what the elder brother did? He said, I have said, you, and I've not broken any of your commandments, but you didn't give me even a kid for me to enjoy. So, he was serving his father for what he could get. He was serving his father to get blessed. We don't serve to be blessed. We serve because we are blessed. Because you think that I have to do something, all this is not God to have my son be upon me and bless me. It's when your eyes was to be unveiled, you'd have known that it is already done. You just have to discover how to receive it. It is not ending in discernment. It is believing and receiving. Let me read my Bible faithfully. May God see my faithfulness and give me a wife. So, after God gave you your wife, will you still read your Bible? Because that was the goal of reading your Bible. We call it butter trade. Do this for me and I'll do this for you. Do this for me, I'll do this for you. So, today we are accepted not because of our obedience, but because of his obedience. Today we even have answered prayers not because of your obedience, but because of his obedience. So, we are all occupied. Me, me, me. What do I have to do? Me, me, me. But the New Testament is not like that. It's about him, him, him, him, him, him, him. It's him, him, him, him, him. That's the revelation of the New Testament. When you are occupied with him, you will do better. Hallelujah. He said, but we all will have unveiled face. Unveiled face. When the Jews already noticed the man, some cases can be very boring. Two of us. Leviticus. The peace offering. The bent offering. All of the dynamics. The trespass offerings. And all of those things. The grain offerings. When you start reading it, you start dozing. True or false? When people read it, when the Jew, it's very boring even for the Jew. How much money can you get? The reason is because the whole thing is about Jesus, but they cannot see Jesus in the picture. It's about Jesus. They cannot see Jesus. They are veiled to see him. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. But we all will have unveiled face. Unveiled. Beholding as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord. Beholding as in a mirror. Okay. The mirror here is the word of God. The mirror is the word of God. As in a glass is the word of God. Okay. How do we behold the Lord's glory? You may say, okay, we can behold him in worship. We can behold him in worship. We can behold him. They are all true. You can behold him in worship. You can behold him. But that's not the primary way of beholding him. The primary way of beholding him scripturally is through the word. Through the word. In context, in verse 15, he says, talking about beholding, he says, even today, when Moses is read, it's about reading the law. Read it, read it, read it. The verse covers their faces. The content is the word. Reading the word. So beholding, say beholding. Beholding. Beholding. Beholding. And the word beholding is not a glance. It's not a glance. It's not a gaze. Okay. There's a difference between a glance and a gaze. Like you wake up in the morning, you just look at the scripture. This is my quiet time. Well, that's the good verse. Wow. The pastor spoke about that yesterday. That's nice. Thank you, Jesus. You can just glance. Michael, why are you doing that? Pastor, I'm sorry. You can just glance and go your way. It's not glancing. It's the word for intense gaze. As you behold, it reflects what you see. Behold. Behold. It is not just in a Greek tense, it is in a present active participle tense. That means that you do it in a continual fashion. You continue and you continue and you continue. You look at it. That's the power of meditation. You take the verse, you have read many chapters, but there is a verse that is jammed to you and the spirit is communicating nervously because your transformation is nervous. You think about it deeply. You gaze, you gaze, you have to stop the nourishment. The things you read, if you don't take time, it will not benefit you if you don't gaze. Like the rumination of the sheep, the sheep would take a lot, but it will find a sweet repose and go and lie down and bring the food back. To the mouth and now ruminate and chew the cart and suck the sweetness until the grass becomes milk. So, it is taking time with the word. Hallelujah. Taking time with the word and if you just read in the morning, that's all, to the next day, it will not benefit you. It will not. You know, when you go to work, you have lunch break. Is that not so? Some people have cafe break. Others have tea break. Many times you have toilet break. But you know, you can also have laugh break. Talk about loving the Lord. Hallelujah. You just, in a hustle and bustle, just have some five minutes and just go to the washroom and just think about what the Lord taught you in the morning. Just think about it alone. Think about it and talk to the Lord about it and thank him for his love and his beauty and his care. It's going to refresh you. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. It's gazing. Now, so the Bible says this book of the Lord shall not depart out of your mouth, but thou shalt meditate in what? Day and night, that thou mayest observe to do all that is written therein. So, as you meditate, you will automatically observe. In Mark 4:28, the Bible says that for the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself, first the blade, then the corn, then the full corn in the year. So, the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself. The word herself is the Greek word automatos. We have the word automatically. Okay. Do you know that you can bring forth fruit automatically? Okay. You are loved automatically. You are patient automatically. You are a giver automatically. You are living holy. You are holy automatically. It's because something has been planted. When you take time to meditate on the word, meditating is showing the word in your hands. It is said that the longest distance is from the head to the heart. You can know so many things in the head, but you're still not transformed. Because what you know is not here. The longest time it must have taken to hit the word, night and day. meditating is showing the word in your hands it is said that the longest distance is from the head to the heart you can know so many things in the head but you're still not transformed because what you know is not here the longest time it must have taken to hit the word 9 inches down from here to here if it is here you can say wonderful things about it but if it is here, you will live it and manifest it you will live it and manifest it you will see the evidence in your life if it is here so the word the transformation begins to be beholden I'll talk about the dynamics of beholden but it's beholden and you know I read my bible I read the bible once every year I've done that since 2001 every year I've read the bible but you see my joy is when I get a verse and I stay on it sometimes I stay on the verse for two days sometimes I stay on the verse for three days sometimes I stay on the verse for four days sometimes I stay on the verse for five days sometimes I stay on the verse for six days yeah recently I stayed I stayed on the chapter for almost a month you know why I want the thing to be here what's the use of talking about not worrying you can preach a very wonderful sermon about not worrying you can preach in homiletical perfections and exegetical exactitude but when it comes to practical life you're always worried what is the use that was all the knowledge is here but the life is not here yeah the bible says in James 1 verse 21 wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness and receive with meekness the engrafted word of God which is able to save their souls now to be able to for the word to profit you the bible says don't be naughty it says lay aside naughtiness now you know what it means to have to be a naughty to tell your child don't be naughty what does it mean for a child to be naughty if your child is naughty you know what happens whatever you say they want to reply you back whatever you say they want to say the opposite they try to reply you back say don't be naughty now the bible says in James 1 verse 21 1.21, that for the word to profit you, don't be naughty. God is telling you, his son, his child, don't be naughty. Don't talk back against the word. So the word is telling you something, but you have something programmed in your mind. It's fighting it. It says by his stripes you are healed. You're also saying, hmm, but what about these symptoms? It's as if God has said it, but this thing isn't true. You are wrestling with it. You see, it's speaking back, speaking back, speaking back to the word. But God's word is more truer than your experience. Your experience is not reliable, but his word is reliable. Because God is not the man that he should lie. He is not the son of man that he should repent. Has he said it, and will he not do it? Has he not spoken, and shall he not make it good? Once I have sworn in my holiness unto David, that I will not lie unto him. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the care which has gone out of my lips, that by doing immutable things in which it is impossible for God to lie. You might have a strong consolation who have fled for a refuge to lay hold on the hope that is set before us. God cannot lie. God is not a man. God swore by his holiness. He swore by himself. Forever, O God, thy word is settled in heaven. That's the word. Every word of the Lord is pure, like the silver of the earth, purified seven times. None shall want her meat. The word of God is solid. Hallelujah. God's integrity and his ability is the back of the word. God's person, his essence, and his throne is the back of the word. If one word should fail, God's throne should fail. If one word should fail, God should deny his existence. So this word, that thou mightest be justified in thy sins, that thou mightest overcome when thou art judged. So your experience is lying to you. Your emotions are lying to you. You are believing a lie. But this thing is solid. It doesn't fail. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So he said, receive. So don't be naughty. Tell the devil don't be naughty. Don't talk about it. Receive with meekness the engrafted word of God. You know meekness? A meek person is not a weak person. Rather, a meek person is a strong-willed person who has submitted himself unto authority. So you are strong-willed, but you decide to submit your thoughts to the word of God. Naturally, you want to go this way, but you have submitted yourself to the word. That is meekness. So don't be naughty. Don't keep talking back to the word. But submit to the word. What you see is just embracing. Because the word of God is engrafted. So it's both biological and agricultural. It's engrafted. It's like an organic transport, an organic transplant. You know, have you ever experienced someone, and have you ever had a transplant before, or been close to someone who had an organ transplant, a liver transplant, or a kidney transplant? What it means is that if there's a transplant, the body's first response is to reject the new organ that was introduced to it. The body fights against it, to reject it, because it's a foreign material. But for the organ transplant, the new organ, to stay, the body goes through, you have to put the body under medication, different processes, after a while, for the new organ to be accepted. With the existing organ. So it takes time. Yeah. So, the new information you are receiving from the word, sometimes your whole system is rejecting it. But you have to be in the process. Keep receiving, keep opening up, keep accepting. And that's how change comes. The Bible says it's able to save your soul. Your spirit is saved. But the saving of the soul is the renewing of the mind. In fact, Paul calls it the renewing of the mind. And James calls it the saving of the soul. And John calls it the prosperity of the soul. "I wish upon mountains that thou mayest prosper "and be in good health as thy soul prospers." And David calls it the restoring of the soul. He restoreth my soul. All this is the soul, right? You're thinking. This is the part that needs the word. That's why you are worried. You are disturbed. You are full of anxiety. You are full of depression. You say, "Why do you feel this every day?" Because the area is the soul. The soul needs some work to be done. If you are feeling wrong, it means you are thinking wrong. Because it's the mind that controls your feeling. How do you know you are thinking wrong? Because you are feeling wrong. So the more as you embrace God's thought, you begin to feel right because you think right. Hallelujah. Praise to God. We all with an unveiled face. Oh my God, how sad I am. We approach the world just to see Jesus. And to see his glory and what he has now. Behold him. Not just glancing. Behold him. Meditation. Behold him. Taking time with him. As in a glass, what do you behold? You behold us in a mirror. The glory of God. The glory of the Lord. Say the glory of the Lord. The doxa effect. Okay. The word glory is a big word. It touches on every aspect of our living. One definition of glory is that before Jesus died, in his high priestly prayers in John 17:5, in his high priestly prayers in John 17:5, he says, glorify me with thine own self, with the glory which I had in thee before the world was. So in that verse, glory is God's own self. So glorify thou me with your own self, with the glory. So if you check the construction, grammatical construction, his own self is glory. His own self is glory. Have you heard the term the riches of his glory? Glory is composed of riches. The riches of God's glory are what we call his attributes are what we call his attributes and his virtues. So his attributes and his virtues are also his glory. What does it mean? What does it mean? The Bible says, Romans 2:4 Or despises thou the riches the riches of his goodness, forbearance and longsuffering. And when you say riches, you are thinking of money. But there is something beyond money. He says the riches of his goodness. God is good. The riches of his goodness, of his forbearance, longsuffering. Can you imagine, if you are working in longsuffering, it is called glory. It is the riches of God's glory. If you are working in patience, you are working in glory. If you are working in, someone is making life hell for you, but you are forbearing, it is also glory. Have you read Ephesians 2:4? But God who is rich in mercy, by his great love wherewith he has loved us. Mercy is part of his riches. So, when the Bible speaks of God's glory, do you remember when Moses asked the Lord, I beseech thee, O Lord, show me thy glory. Exodus 33:18 And God answered him in Exodus 34: 1-5, 6-7 And the Lord passed by and proclaimed. He asked for God's glory. But the Lord passed by and proclaimed. The Lord! So, God was just speaking about himself. So, God was passing by. He said, show me your glory. And the Lord started speaking of himself. And God said, The Lord, the Lord, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, abundant in truth, keeping mercy. So, all of these things he is mentioning are the components of his glory. So, when we say glory, when you work in patience, when you work in mercy, when you work in longsuffering, when you work in love, it's also called glory. Hallelujah. So, when we speak of beholding Jesus' glory, literally, there are dimensions to seeing his glory. That's why glory is big. His moral excellence. You can see his moral glory. His moral glory is Jesus' human perfection. When he lived among men, you can see that this one is not like us. The way he lived among us, he was exceptional. He also said, we beheld his glory. There are different ways you can behold his glory. You can see his official glory. You can see his acquired glory. You can see his essential glory. Different aspects of his glory. His essential glory is that you can see his deity, his God. His moral glory is that you can see his humanity, his man. You can see his official glory, his offices that he walked in, his kinship, his spiritual. So, we beheld his glory. So, there is a way to see, if you see the beauties and the excellencies, how Jesus lived on earth. So, where do we behold his glory? In the Word. When you read the Word, you see his life in the Gospels. Not only that, even in the Old Testament, even everywhere, you can see Jesus. You can see Jesus. The more you see Jesus in the Word, the more you are changed. The more, as you are seen. But how do you do that? As you are seeing Jesus. You don't even decide to change before you realize the change has come. You ask yourself, how did I do it? It is effortless. listen the verse says but we all beholding us in the mirror the glory of the Lord are what changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the spirit of the Lord so who who does the change not you you don't change you don't decide to change yourself the change is carried by the spirit of the Lord he does the changing you do the beholding listen your work is to do the beholding hallelujah the change is not carried by you it's by the spirit of God the Bible says the change even as by the spirit of the Lord so the Holy Spirit does the changing you do the beholding if you don't behold the Holy Ghost has no raw material for your change so all your preoccupation in life is to behold you can be very prayerful but if you are not beholding him in the word you will not be changed yes yes but if you are beholding your prayer will be very sweet yeah yeah it can be very prayerful and have a very bad and have a very bad character yeah because you are not beholding so all that we ought to do for our change we don't decide to change if someone's work why are you doing his work he's the Holy Ghost yours is to be behold as you are constantly beholding letter by letter before you realize is this the way this is the brother we know in this area something has changed about him meditate on these things give yourself holy to them that thy profiting your furtherance your advancement may appear to all everyone will see your advancements something has changed this guy was very rude when he speaks we don't even like it but something has changed yeah now you can be transformed from always sick to always healthy in beholding because Jesus is never sick you can be transformed from always depressed to always peaceful always joyful always worried to always peaceful yeah you see hallelujah praise God now for instance let me show you how we can behold when we read the Bible you have to take time in the Bible you know Jesus one day in his first public appearance he went to someone's wedding he was invited and when he go to the wedding the wine ran out and in ancient times for the wine to run out is actually a disgrace it means you can't take care of the bride it means you didn't have sufficient resources to marry it communicates shame it means you are not you are not ready to take care of the bride you are not ready to take care of the bride you have insufficient resources yeah that is not Denzel's story because Denzel is free why because wine was very precious in those days so for your wine to run out is very crucial Jesus stepped in did the miracle and gave us the best gave them the best of wine
Speaker 2and all of that
Speaker 1and the chairman for the reception he said he commended the groom for what he had done the groom never in no occasion was Jesus giving a credit wow he was never given any credit by any of your mind think of Jesus have you ever done something and the credit was given to another person the credit wasn't given to you but to another person they didn't give you the focus they didn't pay attention on you but everything but you know you labelled in secret for it or even openly but they some way somehow they didn't give you the what is due you but to another will you be unbittered will you be complaining you will be but as you behold Jesus Jesus himself was okay he didn't mind your Lord very God of every God who are you you understand that's how to behold ask somebody take on things like this let the problem show up another time before you realise you are not disturbed like that yeah that's what happens yeah I used to be in a certain church some many many years ago about 20 years ago and I was a pastor of the church the church said I cannot preach I don't know how to preach but there is someone I have someone with me the church said he is a very great preacher but I was training him so when they gave him the preaching appointment I have to spend all night with him and teach him everything he must say and when they go they say this is a great preacher wow I said well after Pastor George we know he can't preach so this went on for a long time but God was training me hallelujah yeah so what will you do what did Jesus do in the word as you behold him wow you know you come to school you respond outwardly by your head inside yeah but if the word transforms you from within you see Jesus even Jesus something will happen to you that's how to behold him that's how to behold him you see Jesus when he is wise he starts to send a cow you know what it means Jesus is wise you read in George 2 verse 24 the Bible says he knew what was in man one version says he knew what was in all men because he is God now look at it carefully you are working with some people you need their thoughts you know their intention you know they don't mean good for you their intention for you is not good one is preparing to betray you you know one will deny you you know the rest are going to forsake you when you need them the most you know yet knowing their intentions and what they will do against you it's not good for you it's a few days to come you are not cold towards them you are not embittered towards them you are not cynical in fact you are loving them you even prayed for them you even washed their feet and the most wicked of them the communion you dipped it in the wine to serve him because that was done for special guests in those days you treat him special the one who is going to cause you the greatest harm you give him the greatest privilege and the greatest advantage you know what we do we don't even know people's intentions just by suspicion just by suspicion we start becoming cold and embittered you will curse you will yeah but think of Jesus what kind of man is this we he knew their intention yet he loved them it's amazing it's amazing and after they had forsaken him the Bible says they all forsook him and fled and when he resurrected you know he told them that the Bible says he appointed to them a mountain in Galilee they should meet him a mountain is a mountain but they went fishing three years of training in the ministry they did it when Jesus died there was a summer sun so they went for fishing so they left the ministry which the Lord had called them from and within three days they were back home they went back to fishing because man must meet sorry man must eat so they went back to fishing Jesus came and stood at the shore there wasn't a single rebuke they were in the wrong place they had betrayed him they had forsaken him that's not why they said mountain you are fishing Jesus stood not a single rebuke he was taken off the children had he any meat he was taken off that's why he was taken off the children had he any meat he was taken off the children had he any meat he was taken off the children had he any meat Everybody is born to be king, but he was born king. They didn't say, where is he that is born to be king? Everybody, every king on earth was born to be king. But there is one who was born king. When he was born, he was king. The Bible says, in the days of Herod the king, small k, wise men came and said, came saying, where is he that is born king, capital K, check your Bible. Herod the king is small k, but where is he that is born king is capital K. Because they knew who was born. The word capital K in the Greek is the absolute monarch of the universe. The king of kings and the lord of lords. Which in his times he shall show who is the blessed and the only potentate. King of kings and lord of lords. That's Jesus. So he's the creator of the universe. He came to his own. He was in the world and the world was made by him. And the world knew him not. So this is Jesus, his God. One day. One day. One day. As he was carried by the multitude. Do you know the kings in those days and even now, they don't pay attention to the poor. Will you see a king paying attention to a poor person begging on the street? They are busy attending to big people in the society. Those who are resourceful and powerful people. They don't have attention for the least. Jesus. Do you know the people Jesus specialized on? His focus was on the lost, the last, and the least. He focused on these people. One day as he was carried by the multitude, he heard the cry of a blind beggar. Blind Bartimaeus. As he heard the cry, the Bible says, and Jesus stood still. Oh my God. The king of kings stood still. At the cry of a beggar. You know, there are people, when multitudes are all around them, look, they forget about everybody. They are so inflated with ego and pride and evidence about themselves. Even if I before them, they can't even see you. But Jesus stood still at the cry of a beggar. Majesty. Yet he is meek. You know what it means when this truth gets into your heart? You have time for everyone. Jesus is almighty God. He is almighty yet. He was touchable. He was reachable. He was approachable. Everybody could approach him. Children could approach him. Yeah. The disciples wanted to insult him. He rebuked them and took them and put them on his lap. He always exceeded the expectation. He had time for them. Praise God. When you know this, you have time. You have time for the ordinary people because that is your Lord. That's how to behold. As you are beholding him in the word. Take time. Take time. Once upon a time, after the death of John the Baptist, Jesus had done a lot of ministry and he told the disciples to go and rest in their private place for a while. So they actually went. They went to a desert to rest a while, a place. The Bible says that the whole city, they heard of him and they outran him and they besieged him. And they broke their solitude. Now, it's not easy for a creature to go and rest. That means he's already tired. And these guys followed him there. Now, he had to preach them for a long time and, you know, feed, feed, feed them again and three days and three nights and feed them in the desert. They broke his rest. Yet, yet there was no frustration. There was no resentment. Wow. Or they went to rest. He had compassion over them. Last, I was in Kumasi last weekend. Yes. And I preached on Friday. I said, Pastor Michael, you did a leadership for me on Saturday. And I was going to preach on Sunday. I wanted to rest on a Saturday. Then I was interrupted by six different meetings. Because these are very, so some of them, I nearly said no. Then I remembered this verse. You heard me. I remembered that they broke Jesus' rest and he had compassion over them and ministered to them. It came to me. I was just in the room and I smiled. I said, let them come. Yeah. I could have fought back, but if the word is there, I said, behold, that's what they did to him. Praise God. Hallelujah. So all of these beauties. I wonder. See, when Jesus finished feeding the 5,000, they came to, they came to make him king. And Jesus had to hide himself. You would have accepted it. Maybe you would have accepted it. I don't know. Jesus doesn't seek validation from men and approval from men. He doesn't seek for human applause. How can you believe if you receive honor one from another? And not seek the honor that comes from another. from God only that's what he said in John 5 so he doesn't pray for men's applause so sometimes you are looking for someone to validate you maybe you are looking for a senior minister in the ministry to validate you or maybe you are even looking for a very big property to stand on to preach or you are looking for something powerful to be said about you you are looking at the wrong places you are looking to men if men enthrone you if men enthrone you if men could take Jesus and make him a king then men can enthrone him if men could enthrone him then men can also enthrone him then he has given authority to men to have rulership and dominion over him but no our security must be from above it's not from human it's not from man's applause once we do that all our actions will be to please men to seek for validation and when you seek for validation from men you can be very depressed because we are expecting from men what we must expect from God so as we read look at what Jesus did as we meditate something enters our heart not to have that pursuit seeking for men's approval hallelujah praise God that's how wonderful he is that's how Jesus is one day when Jesus is zealous he has no malice you know Jesus what he did he took a sketch in the temple and shipped those who were selling and exchanging money Jesus was strong Peter did they help him Thomas did they help him Matulami did they help him Jesus was making a sketch these guys were fishermen they didn't even help Jesus second-handedly Jesus is a man's man he's a strong man and he shook them the Bible says he drove the oxen he drove the sheep and when we read chapter 2 something is wonderful about Jesus as I've read that chapter it's amazing the Bible says Jesus is a man's man and he shook them the Bible says he drove the oxen he drove the sheep and when we read chapter 2 something is wonderful about Jesus as I've read that chapter it's amazing the Bible says Jesus he drove the oxen and he drove the sheep but when he came to the daffs he didn't drive the daffs he called for the owners that the sheep might take the daffs if you drive away sheep the sheep will not be lost if you drive away oxen the oxen will not be lost but if you drive away daffs they will fly and they can't be found even in his anger he was caring even in his anger he's not selfish he still cares for those who are even in disobedience he didn't want them to lose you see his anger there's no selfishness in his anger his anger is against injustice but even in his anger there's care that's how Jesus is one day Jesus was from Judea and he was going to Galilee there is a shortcut from Judea to Galilee but he decided to go and pass through a very long cut everyone wants to use shortcuts but why would he go and pass a very long cut so then when you are coming here I was wondering why you didn't pass here I told myself that maybe you have a better route and you yeah that was a good cut but assuming you are coming here and and you pass through the time can't exist it you go and pass somewhere Jesus could have gone through a shortcut from Judea to Galilee but he said he decided to go through Siberia a very long route just to meet a woman just to meet a woman one day I wondered why Jesus met Nicodemus at night but she met the woman at 12 o'clock and I said oh that's also wisdom so if I counsel the woman why do you want to meet the woman one to one in the dark Jesus met Nicodemus who is a man in the dark Jesus met Nicodemus who is a man in the dark the evening and he says he met the woman in the afternoon in the open. So that was a cool, good council. You can't say I'm very spiritual so I can be one to one alone with the woman. That alone, that alone is pride. That alone means you are under the law because you are trusting in your might and your strength. The Bible says in your flesh dwelleth no more thing. You also say there's something good flesh. The Bible says flee. You are saying I can't withstand. So it's wisdom. And Jesus went to see this woman. And this woman had a morally questionable background. Because she had had how many husbands? A seventh one. Six already. And she went to fetch water. From the well. She went at the wrong time. Women go and fetch water close to sunset. Around 5 going. But she went at 12 o'clock. Why? There was something wrong. Because socially, she was like a social misfit. They knew what she was doing. And because of the kind of scandal, she doesn't want anyone pointing hands at her. So she went at a time when no one was there. And let me go on. This time she met the divine guest. Jesus was a rabbi. Do you know that among the laws of the rabbinical laws, a rabbi cannot talk to a woman in public. Not even your wife. Yes. So among the Jews, even if I'm a rabbi and I meet my wife, I pass by as though I've never met her before. That's very serious. Until we meet inside the house. But Jesus broke all the racial laws. Because Jews also had no dealings with the Samaritans. And broke every kind of law. And approached this woman to talk. That's what Jesus did. You know what I learned as you meditate? That means that we should not see people. We must learn to see people in the lens of their worth. And for God. But what society has abandoned them to be. And we can accept everyone. Because that's what Jesus did. Praise God. Hallelujah.
Speaker 2In the midst of the storms.
Speaker 1Now look at Jesus. When he was on the cross. He defended his executioners. In the face of their cruel and fierce. What they were doing was very cruel and fierce against him. What they did to Jesus. The Bible says, I may count all my bones. They stare and look at me. But Jesus' bones, he could count them. They were open. The Savior says, his veins and arteries could be seen. So all that they were doing against him. His father forgave them. They know not what they are doing. The persecutor prayed for his persecutors. In the midst of such cruelty. So when people are attacking you. Speaking bad about you. Speaking ill of you. Killing you. Saying all manner of things against you. What do you do? If this verse can get into your heart. You can say, Father forgive them. You can love your enemies. You can bless those who curse you. You can do good to those who persecute you and those who despitefully use you. By beholding the master. That is what he did. So as you meditate in the word. This is Jesus. Think deeply. The Bible says that's how change comes. I'm giving you examples of how we can see Jesus. And as we reflect. Just take time to reflect. Just think deeply. If the deep thinking. That's what will give the result. Deep thinking about the master. About the master. It's about him. When you read David see Jesus. When you read Joseph see Jesus. Whoever you read see Jesus. We are not called to behold them. We are called to behold Jesus. Paul failed. Peter failed. Moses failed. All of them failed. Moses the Baptist was the biggest man in his day. Yet he lost his temper. You see. With Jesus. When he's bold. He's not proud. But with us. This guy is bold. But we can see traces of pride in his boldness. Elijah was bold. But he was also proud. Even I. I'm the only one left. God rebuked him and said what are you saying? I have preserved myself seven times. You were just told that he had hidden 100 prophets 50 by 50 in the cave. And he just came six verses afterwards and said you are the only one left. But you were told that there are 100 others. So he was inflated with pride seeing himself. We call that the Elijah complex. Superiority complex. Yeah. Paul. Paul is not our standard. He's an example. But behold Jesus. Paul. Very powerful man. Paul. But he insulted the high priest. And he said oh I didn't know it was the high priest. And he said oh I'm sorry for what is written. That should not revile the will of that people. Anyway after that insult he couldn't quote the scripture. So Paul even missed it. But Jesus never missed it. Paul is not your standard. Jesus is your standard. All have failed but he never failed. Your pastor has failed but he has not failed. Yeah. Look at Jesus' posture. In the midst of the storms he was asleep. You think what man of man is this? The Bible says even the water had entered the ship but he was asleep. How? How? How? How? The storm never woke him up. You know why he woke up? It was a cry of his disciples that woke him up. Not the storms. Storms are nothing to him. That's right. The disciples even rebuked him for what he had not done. They said don't you care in the book of Mark that we are perishing. You woke the man from sleep he was tired. Then after opening his eyes the first thing he hears is a blame. Don't you care that we are perishing. He's the one who caused it. He's the one who caused the storm. If you were the one who would have responded to the blame, what do you mean I don't care? He said he didn't mind though he was blamed. He only responded and attacked the problem. Peace is still. He didn't give heed to what his disciples said. Maybe your ego would have been hurt. You have spent time defending yourself and your image. He didn't do that. The king of kings, the almighty God, as big as he is, never defended it, never said anything, but he attacked the problem. So we learn all these things from Jesus as we behold him. Hallelujah. Praise God. He is excellent and you see his ways. I was reading the Bible. Today I realize that Jesus, whatever he tells you, after filling the 5,000, the Bible says he compelled the disciples to go to the other side. He compelled them. That means they were not willing to go. Why would they not be willing to go? They were fishermen. Maybe they saw the clouds and the storms gathering. So they tried to convince him that the storms are coming so we cannot go. Nevertheless, they sat inside and he says he didn't go with them and he went up the mountain to pray. The Bible says they went in the evening, it was six, but at the fourth watch, Jesus led them up the mountain and appeared on the sea, instead of walking on the sea to go and save them. You know the fourth watch, 3 to 6 AM, that means they had been on the Sea of Galilee for more than nine hours. Wow. It takes one to two hours to cross the Sea of Galilee. It was just eight miles, the Bible says they were in the midway. So just midway, which there had been an hour, they had spent more than nine hours. Wow. So that's why the storm was wild. So I wonder what they were thinking about it, if we said it all, we said it all. But you see, they were still in obedience because they could have, when the wind, but the Bible says the wind was contrary. So the best they could do is to just came and the wind would have carried them this way. So they were still facing the wind, they could have gone back. Nevertheless, they were still in obedience to what Jesus had said. The Lord could lead you, yet there are storms. He could lead you, yet there are storms. there's something that amazes me you know what amazes me the most I'm thinking about Jesus the Bible says when he got there in Mark the Bible says he didn't go to them he went he pretended as if he was going somewhere and passed by I've read
Speaker 2that before really the Bible
Speaker 1says when he got there Jesus pretended you led the mountain to go and save them but when he got there he didn't save them or he pretended to walk pass pass by I don't think this was going for a morning stroll you can't be going for a stroll but it teaches us something very important in the midst of your problems the Lord's presence can be strong but the situation may not change from from the top of the mountain why didn't he stop the storms he could have stopped the storms in the absence but he walked the way they were and wasn't even passing by God doesn't do anything apart from your faith response he went for you to make a demand of his power see the result he doesn't hear let him hear what the Spirit says so beholding Jesus just read read the word slowly let it affect your mind the word is true little by little this is how we can be changed all your change is in beholding not glancing you have to do your quiet time quick so that you can bribe your conscience at least I've also read my Bible no it's not like that I've also read my Bible no it's not like that gazing letter by letter praying it speaking it and that's when fruit comes until you behold the Spirit has no raw and the bible says you are completing him and the bible says you are completing him which is the head of our principality you know jesus defeated satan but many you know jesus defeated satan but many you know jesus defeated satan but many don't believe it don't believe it don't believe it because of experiences but jesus said behold i give unto you but jesus said behold i give unto you but jesus said behold i give unto you power power to track over serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by enemies hurt you my god in the greek nothing shall by enemies hurt you it's a triple negation in the greek the greek actually says nothing shall never never never three times wow three times wow three times in the greek jesus says nothing sharp by no means no nothing in a way never never never hit you
