The R.O.R. morning show with L.B.F. and Adam 12, Thursday morning R.O.R. and Adam 12, you know, I feel like Apple is like an old marriage at this
point.
They've been like, the phone is like, what, 20 years old at this point?
Yeah, I phone's almost 20 yet next year.
And like an old marriage, you're kind of like unimpressed after a while.
You're like, yeah, yeah, I need it.
I love it.
But is it exciting me?
No.
I mean, maybe this is exactly why Apple has unveiled the useless, most expensive thing.
Most expensive thing.
Which is the foldable, foldable iPhone.
Yeah, the iPhone Duo.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They have a foldable phone.
It's like, basically a phone that turns into iPad, it's, it's cumbersome.
It's $2,000.
It's more fragile than the average smartphone and not radically more useful.
It's only 83, 29 a month for 24 months.
I mean, that's doable.
That's doable.
That is not, that is, that is, that's, the foldable iPhone is, it's not, it's not any,
it's, it doesn't, I don't think it's going to change anybody's life.
But to me, it is the phone equivalent of loafers without socks on NANDtucket.
It says a lot about the person who bought it.
And here's the funniest part of it all, LBF, is Apple, you know, for decades was all
about innovation and being the first to, you know, kind of try these new technologies.
Samsung's made one of these, what, like, seven, eight years ago, like a foldable phone,
like it's a thing that's been done already.
And not only has been done, but it's like everyone hates it because it's cumbersome and
difficult.
And if you get a grain of sand and the little thing that lets you fold it open a back,
it's done.
It's, I'm not, I usually get excited to somewhat, I used to get excited about it, as I said.
Sure.
But I missed the small, tiny phone and fit your back pocket.
Thank you.
Even though I can't see anything, but like, that was the great part of an iPhone.
It was small.
It had tons of information and all the stuff on it was yours.
And now, and you could download it and you could be, you could, it was so great.
And, and, and, you go to the Apple store and find out how the thing worked because they
would give you free classes.
Right.
And now, it's just the wild wild west and cash grab.
I'm all set.
And I'm like, sad that I'm not excited about it, but I feel like Apple and I need marriage
counseling in 20 years and I feel like we're just not, we're not seeing an eye to eye
anymore.
Well, maybe you spend them the 83, 29 months on the marriage counseling instead of the
phone.
Exactly.
Thank you.
1057 W ROR 80s 90s and more variety.
Good morning.
This is the ROR morning show with LBF and Adam 12 and this is a DM disaster LBF.
It sure is.
It's a disaster.
And it's Wesley on the line who reached out to us via ROR morning show and Instagram.
You should do the same.
Maybe you'll be the next Wesley.
You could be a Wesley too is what I'm trying to say.
Good morning, Wesley.
Good morning, guys.
Talk to us about your DM disaster, buddy.
Well, I just found out the other night that that my name in the house is Bob Killington.
That's good.
I like it.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, no.
It's nothing to like.
Okay.
Okay.
I found out that my kids just absolutely love it when my wife watches them.
Okay.
So, let me I'll bring it down.
Other night, I had to go over to my folks house.
I had to help them out with something and I find out that my wife and kids wait until
I'm out of the house before they do fun activities.
Oh, boy.
I'm talking like, you know, like water, fire, board game, Xbox, football, yeah, everything,
everything.
Apparently, I'm such a buzzkill and a quote unquote sore loser.
They can only have fun without me around.
Oh, no.
That's a drag.
Yeah.
Oh, I know.
I got into a little bit of a fight with my wife about it.
I told her the problem is I can't be the only one who lays down the law, you know.
And my wife, she says, you know, see, this is why the kids love me.
Of course they love you.
You have no rule.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know, punish them.
They're obviously going to want to hang out with you.
So that, she said, you know, you think it's okay to cheat when we play board games, which
is, you know, well, I look at me and the kids one time we were playing a game on the Xbox
and I was, um, that wasn't winning.
And as I walked by the TV, I may have unplugged it.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Okay.
I see the full picture.
It's not the greatest lesson for the kids, but, you know, there was one time, one in
see it.
Yeah.
Anyway, it just, it just sucks to realize I'm not the, the fun dad, you know.
Yeah.
So right now, this morning, right now on my laptop, I'm actually looking up trips to Disney
to, to prove I am the cooler parent.
Oh, fun.
Yeah.
You'll be paying a tidy sum to prove that point.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'll work there.
I'll work there.
This isn't even just like a parenting thing, I'll be, I mean, there are just some time,
like, like, it's, it comes sometimes it's a, it's a, like a, a relationship dynamic thing,
but sometimes it's a personality.
Right.
Yeah.
People can be, uh, what do you call it?
Like a fun sponge, right?
Yes, exactly.
So, so let's talk about that.
It, it, it, it, it, four, one, oh, one, oh, five, seven, a time that you were the fun
sponge on the R.O.R.
morning show with another.
Suck in the fun.
It's a lot of everything.
The R.O.R. morning show, weekday mornings and one, oh, five, seven, W.R.O.R.
R.O.R.
morning show with L.B.F and Adam 12, DM disasters, uh, Wesley was talking about how he is the
uncool parent and it got us talking about, uh, times that we've been the fun sponge and
Audrey's on the line and, and Audrey, tell us about when you've been the fun sponge.
Hey, good morning.
Yeah.
So, I have a couple kids and they always want to go to get ice cream or they want to
go to McDonald's, but I always have to say no because nobody's eating in my car.
I like my car spot list.
Oh, yeah.
I can, I can relate to that.
I, I like to have my car in need or L.B.F.
How are you?
Really?
I'm fine.
Yeah.
You're just like, you're just like ice cream.
I like to add to it, yeah.
I mean, I know.
Listen, Windex.
It's fine.
Okay.
Then, then, you know, Audrey, you and I, we're rolling to the, uh, to the McDonald's
together.
L.B.F.
Adam 12th, the R.O.R. Morning Show, weekday mornings and 1057 W.R.O.R.
When did, let's get together become, let's set some goals and track our performance.
Oh.
Well, I mean, I, my friends, I have a group of text friends and, um, they're great.
You know, we just, you know, we have dinner once in a while, but like, they invited me
to join a walking club or like a fitness thing sort of like, it's, it's actually not
even getting some, maybe we'll get together, but it's like, let's get together for a walk,
but then I found out there are rules, money and a winner.
Oh.
So you pay to join, you like throw in 25 bucks, like a pool, like a pool.
Okay.
Okay.
And, um, and of course, I'm not familiar with this sort of thing, exercising or pools.
So I'm reading a line up and I'm like, what, I don't, why, why am I paying somebody,
like, is, what's happening?
We pay to join, you have assignments, you compete against each other and at the end,
you submit all your information and then somebody wins the pot.
That sounds a lot.
For a second and third place.
Yeah.
But I was like, it was this friendship or is this hunger games?
What's happening?
I don't understand.
I've realized that as I get older, my friendships and get-togethers are now assignments.
Assignments based get-togethers book clubs are notorious for that.
Oh, that's a good example.
Because you have an assignment, aka reading a book, which I actually don't find so bad
because I like reading and I like drinking wine with my friends and talking about dumb
stuff.
Yeah.
Exercise.
I think that like, is it me, convince me that this is a good idea.
You know what?
I, I, I will.
I think it is a good idea, LBF, I, I, I, because I think it's going to, I think it's
going to motivate the out, I think a little bit of competition can motivate the indoor
cat to get outside a little bit more past just the, hey, let's get together and go for
a walk once a week.
Like maybe you do the first couple of those and then you're like, ah, you know, I don't
know some rain a little bit.
But like, I think if there's, if you got a little skin in the game, LBF, maybe that's-
I got a lot of skin in the game.
It's why I got to go on a walk.
Yeah.
I got a lot of skin in the game.
- Maybe that's enough to kind of get you up and moving.
Yeah, watch.
- Wait a minute.
Is this a vast conspiracy of my friends
who are like someone is really letting yourself go?
We should make a competition and have her go for a walk
'cause day.
- Oh, that would be nefarious to that.
- I don't think that's the case at all.
That would be serious.
- What?
(gasps)
Oh my god, he could be.
I'm not Josie Grocey anymore.
These are girls from high school.
I asked a question after a whole thing.
It's like, what counts is all this stuff?
And I said, can I just text you every time I miss a workout?
Is there a prize for that?
(laughs)
It's gaining some traction.
- Yeah, okay, well the tip was posted.
- Okay, well.
- And let us know too what you think about this.
'Cause you can fall on either side of this
if it's a little too competitive.
Again, I think the competition could be good for you.
I think this is how this is coming about then.
But 888-410-1057, be curious to get your calls
and texts on this.
- Yeah, do people do this?
And in the meantime, LBF starts stretching.
It's the ROR Morning Show.

- And I'll be up if you've been invited to take part
in this walking group, but there's a catch to it.
- There's a competition.
- Yeah.
It's just like, listen, I, I like getting together
and complaining.
That's my cardio.
(laughing)
And over like wine and stuff like that.
Walking and talking is a lot, it's a lot.
And walking and every time anybody's ever gunned
like the step thing in the competition,
I remember my mother in particular was the worst
because she and her best friend were in a competition
when everyone got their FitBix.
And it would be the end of the night.
And my mother would just be running around the house.
So I got to get my steps in because Maureen's gonna beat me.
I got to get my steps in.
It turns people into crazy people.
And I'm crazy enough.
- Yeah, you got enough of that, you don't need more.
Aaron had a great idea off the mic.
- Yeah, just take whatever step counter you have
and put it on an animal and let it go.
- I like that.
(laughing)
- Sure.
All that's actually only because Dave's the running man now, right?
- He's the running man.
- Yeah.
- He bikes, he runs, he walks, he lifts.
- I think, I mean, I'm, we're gonna be divorced soon,
(laughing)
- First they run and then they run away.
- I think there's a lot of creative solutions
to this here, LBF.
I think there's a lot of creative solutions
that we can get into.
- I, good.
- Yes.
- Like, what?
(laughing)
- We'll workshop it soon.
- I mean, no one ever has a sitting competition.
That's what I want.
How much do you sit today?
How many times did you check your phone?
These are the kind of competitions I'm into.
How many hours of TV did you watch?
I'm like, I will kill it.
- Yes, all of it, all of it.
- Can I have my TV hours, can one minute,
can one minute of TV time equal one step?
Can we, can we kind of come up with some math around that?
There we go.
- Oh, anyway.
- All right.
- All right, our morning show, good morning.
Who's this?
- This is Jeff.
- What's going on this morning, Jeff?
- I'm just on my way to a breakfast group
I do on Thursdays, a bunch of guys,
front of a bunch of friends.
- Are you meeting a honeydew?
How old are you?
(laughing)
- Well, I'm in my late 50s.
- Okay.
- I know.
- And where are you meeting?
- We meet at Lawrence, Diner, in Attaburro.
It's a group of pastors.
- Oh, very nice. - Oh, very nice.
- Very nice.
From different denominations?
- Yes.
- Yes, we do.
- That's great.
- Like, and you guys are a little old
so you can be like, pastor prime.
Get it?
(laughing)
- You'll give me a zad today.
(laughing)
- Oh, thank you.
I appreciate that.
- Yes, pastor, do you take credit for it too?
(laughing)
- If you wanna confess that I can make a solution.
- I'm sorry, father, I'm sinned.
I told a really bad joke.
(laughing)
- That's tremendous.
- Yes, yes you did.
(laughing)
- But no, that's fantastic.
You have a great morning.
And thanks for calling to check in with us.
- Thank you.
- LBF at Adam 12.

Weekday mornings at 1057 W.R.O.R.
- The R.O.R. Morning Show at LBF at Adam 12.
- This is super smart.
It's 60 seconds.
James on the line. Good morning, James.
- Good morning.
- Were you calling us from this morning, James?
- Boston Mass.
- Boston Mass.
- Boston Mass.
- What are you doing in Boston?
- Yeah.
- I work at the moment.
- What do you do?
- I work for the MBGA.
- Oh, really?
- Well, is it working today?
- Yeah, I'm on break though.
- Oh.
(laughing)
- Surprise, surprise.
- Everything's up and running.
(laughing)
- Everything's running fine.
Everything's on time.
- Everything's on time.
- And James has a moment to be able to hop on the radio.
- And if you have a problem, be like,
I need to speak to James.
- That's right.
(laughing)
- You guys, every day, I'm ready to go.
- Oh, I love this.
This is good.
This is good.
I love it when we got it, we got it regular.
So, James, then you know the deal.
60 seconds to answer 10 questions.
LBF asks you a question.
You don't know the answer to right away.
Say pass.
We'll get to it if there's time at the end.
And if you're able to answer all 10 questions correctly
in the 60 seconds, you will win $1,000.
All right, you ready to go?
- Great.
- All right.
- Yes, sir.
- Let's go.
- What is 7 plus 3?
- 10.
- Which actor played Mr. Darcy in Bridget Jones' diary?
- Pass.
- In what state did Aerosmith form?
- Massachusetts.
- Which legendary baseball pitcher
was nicknamed to the big unit?
- Pass.
- The first TV dinner was sold by Swanson
on September 10th, 1953,
what meat was featured in the original meal.
- Meatloaf.
- Who was the author of The Great Gatsby?
- Oh, pass, do you miss?
- What are catfish missing that many other fish have?
- Whiskers.
- Who wrote the novel series The Green Mile?
- Pass, I didn't leave that.
- What nationality was inventor Alexander Graham Bell,
Scottish American or Dutch?
- Dutch.
- A government in which power is restricted to a few
is called a what?
- Oh, a blank show.
(laughing)
- Oh, exactly.
- All right, well you missed a couple,
but that's okay.
Let's start with the last one.
A government in which power is restricted to a few
is called an oligarchy.
- Oligarchy.
- I would have never brought that.
- Yes, it's a big attack.
I don't even know what it means.
In which actor played Mr. Darcy in Bridget Jones' diary,
Colin Firth, which legendary baseball pitcher
was nicknamed the big unit Randy Johnson,
when he was a diamond back he annihilated a bird
in a pitch, I'll never forget it.
- And I'll be, I couldn't say that without giggling.
- Yes, I know, sorry.
12th.
The first TV dinner was sold by Swanson on September 10th,
the meat featured was actually turkey.
Can you picture it?
Like the turkey with the gelatin, it's gravy.
- And then the peas and one thing.
- And then the little, yeah.
- Yeah, the potatoes with the, yeah.
F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote the great Gatsby.
Catfish are missing scales.
Stephen King wrote the novel series Green Mile
and Alexander Graham Bell, it was Scottish.
But you know what, that was a hard one today, I'm sorry.
- But you got through, you got to play.
We're not gonna let that go and mention James.
Yes, we're gonna make sure that you get a super smart
t-shirt for your trouble.
And if there's anyone you'd like to say hello to
or shout out, go for it.
Yeah, shout out to my granddaughter
who started school yesterday, Veronica.
Three years old.
- Oh, Veronica, she's gonna be sassy.
- That's a great name.
- Oh my God, a three year old named Veronica.
I'm gonna sit down, let's have fun.
(laughing)
- Well, James, thanks again for playing.
Thank you so much for listening.
I'm gonna put you on hold.
- Absolutely, we'll get you squared away
with the Tushie Veronica is a great name.
You don't hear that one off of it.
- No, I love it.
- Yeah.
- The LBF at Adam 12.
The ROR Morning Show, weekday mornings at 1057WROR.
- Your favorite dating app is about
to get a whole lot more attainable.
So catfishing, I'll be a fear familiar with that.
- It's when you pretend you're. - Yeah, you pretend you're someone you're,
and there's levels of it as well.
You can pretend you're someone completely different,
but you can also kind of punch up how you look
and how you. present yourself on these, these, uh, these profiles with false photos and
biometric photos of you when you were like 18, right?
Now you're 50.
It's it's whatever get the hook up taking care of, but now reverse cat
fishing using unflattering photos, downplaying the more superficial parts of
yourself in order to find not a quick hookup, but a genuine connection.
File under pleasantly surprised lowering your expectations.
Really? I mean, expectations of the devil's work.
So you might as well, it isn't it nice when somebody meets you and they're like,
oh my God, you really look better in person than you do on TV or on, you know,
so hot of that. Yeah. So it's like, that's a way better thing.
So you got it yet anyway, you don't want to sift through the superficial
people anyway. If they're only dating you because you look good,
then you don't really want them anyway. So this is a great idea.
LBF, you are brilliant because I hadn't even made that connection that when
people put their, you know, those kind of, you know, filtered or, or, you know,
punched up photos of themselves on a dating app.
And then you do finally meet someone in person. It's like, oh, you don't look
like anything like you don't look like polished and all that other stuff.
I take it. I take it to one step further. Okay.
Actually, a couple of steps for where you show, you could show your
book photos or something like that. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
We like this is what I used to look, look at how far I've come up.
I've so many of those great, but I think that you should show pictures of
relatives that aren't that great. Look.
So that they know what kind of gene pool they're jumping into because it's like,
well, whoa. Yeah. I mean, the mom's cute, but have you seen the ass?
That's so great. And the grandmother, what a mess.
See our, our morning jobs, the LBF and Adam 12, the R.O.R. Top thumping is a song about drinking and that's appropriate here.
I don't know. With all of them were offered, right?
Craft beers, IPAs, beers that taste like Jolly Ranchers or Pine Tree.
Americans apparently said, nah, give me the least flavorful one.
Number one beer in America. Yeah.
It is Michelob ultra. Oh, I didn't expect that.
It's usually either Bud Light or Bud Wiser. Interesting.
What? Still? Yeah.
Michelob ultra is the most popular beer in America. Bud Light is second.
Okay. Stella is third. I got made.
Stella are two. Really?
I got made five by my nephew for ordering Stella.
That's interesting. That's really though, as a beer drinker,
that is very interesting to me because for a long time,
the top three was some combination of Bud Light, Bud Wiser,
or Bud Heavy, if you prefer, and course light.
Like those were kind of the top three.
Well, rounding out the top five would be Bud Wiser, Guinness,
and course light, or top six, I think.
Top six, yeah. Okay. Math is hot.
I need to explain this to you. Why, why, why does,
why did most of Americans go for, when we have,
you do a video series. Yes, can't check.
Yes, can't check, where you try all these beers,
and there's so many, and micro breweries, and regular breweries,
and all those other stuff, why are we choosing basically water?
So you could, the expectation for those of you listening to the show,
and LBF and I weekday mornings, and you getting to know me,
is I'm probably going to give some answer here.
That's very long. That's very long.
Yes, that's true. I mean, we've got five,
and we've got five and a half hours, and four and a half hours,
or radio to do every day. You know, we got to, we got to do something.
You got to fill the time somehow.
But I would love to lean into my kind of hipster,
elitist edge, and say it's because blah, blah, blah,
but that's not the case. It's marketing.
It's marketing. They put a ton of marketing behind
Michel O'Baltry, from the very beginning,
it was marketed as a fitness drink.
No, literally like the tab, the first, really.
That's exactly, that's a great, a great comparison.
It really was like, when they first rolled out Michel O'Baltry,
they were targeting a young, active demographic that,
and basically it was showing people like finishing a run
and having a Michel O'Baltry.
Like finishing a volatile game, having a Michel O'Baltry.
And a genius slend to open their lungs up exactly.
So I just, I think this is a case of,
it's just, they've done a bang up job of marketing it over the years.
Now, what would be great is if they would market it here
on the ROR Morning Show and advertise their beer with us
because I'm the beer guy.
That would be nice.
Maybe that keeps them at number one.
Can I ask you a question?
Of course.
I know you have all these to choose from.
What is your favorite beer Mr. Can check?
So my favorite beer depends on the time of year
and it depends on what's available at the end.
Let's do now.
Right now, it's fall.
I'm cycling out of my favorite summer,
which is the Narragansett Dell Shandy.
It's in the tall can.
You were down in Narragansett at that last week.
And yeah, it's good.
I grew out of it.
When I get it, when I get it, when I get into the winter,
it's it's course lights because for a decade,
I hosted appraise ski parties in the white mountains
and they were sponsored by course light.
And I'll tell you right now, I'll be up after a day of, you know,
setting up the party, riding, you know, with my kids.
I ride, it's no board, my kids ski.
There was nothing better.
Like three o'clock starting the appraise ski party,
cracking a nice cold course light.
Oh, heavenly.
You know, we operate differently.
Yeah, apparently we do.
But you know what, I'll have to give something.
I tell you what, you know what my, you know what my, my current one is?
You'll find out later on today,

I think I've found a food item that will break my brain if I eat it.
Okay.
So follow me here. There's an ice cream shop in Connecticut.
Yeah.
No, but maybe not a good way.
And I'll explain.
So you're familiar with the, the, the Connecticut style of pizza,
a beach like Sally's a beach.
It's that kind of like thin cross.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
So they've made a slice of a beach out of ice cream.
Okay.
So this is in Hampton, Connecticut.
New Haven style slice made a waffle cone base.
Strawberry basil ice cream.
Strawberry sundae sauce. They top it with graded white chocolate to look like parm.
White chocolate basil leaves.
And then cocoa on the crust to give it that charm.
So it kind of looks like a pizza.
It looks exact.
But it doesn't taste like a pizza.
No, and that's what's breaking my brain is it looks really cool.
And they, and it's really it's art.
It's like that.
What's the show like?
Is it cake, right?
That you day from us and I was so, I mean, you can, you can,
the, it's really art the way that this food is created where they're able to take
these components and make what looks exactly like a slice of pizza,
but it's made of ice cream.
Calfishing.
It's, which I can.
Ice cream, cat fishing, it's presenting itself other than what it is.
Precisely.
And I either you're down with that or you're not.
I don't think I am.
And, and maybe you can talk me into it.
But my whole thing is is if my brain is expecting and perceiving a slice of pizza.
And I take a bite and I'm tasting ice cream.
I don't think my caveman brain has evolved enough to be able to like.
I'm looking at it.
I'm looking at it.
It looks like a slice of pizza, but it's a whole thing.
Yeah.
You get it, it's cute, but like think of it.
Go in thinking it's a pop tart.
It's a, it's a triangle shaped pop tart.
Okay.
And you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, you'll, your brain will be fine.
Can I just say something?
Please, yes.
I have a better idea.
Okay.
Can I just do some?
Yeah.
All right.
So here's my idea.
Ma'am.
You take a waffle cone, but you make it out of pizza, real pizza, okay?
And then you fill it with a savory sort of ice cream.
Like they have like, like a, like a butter slash cheesy something
with some sort of meats in it.
Okay.
So it's cold, but hot.
And then it's ice cream pizza.
It actually looks like a cone, but it's pizza.
See that I, my, you're, you're, my, I'm not joking.
My stomach just rumbled.
Yeah.
Like that, I think my brain could handle it.
Okay.
Yeah, you could eat, yeah.
It looks like this is a piece of pizza that's been rolled up with some,
yes, but it looks like an ice cream, but like it could trick you
and then you're eating like a savory thing.
Um, I don't know.
I'm in on both because frankly, I'm starving.
Do we feed around here?
We'll work on that.
Thanks so much.
But yes, ice cream and pizza, all of it we're going to have
later on on the ROR Morning Show.
The LBF at Adam 12, the ROR Morning Show,
weekday mornings at 1057WROR.
Ever wonder who's out there making the world go round?
It's truckers.
Truckers.
Who unites dogs with their favorite chew toy?
Truckers.
Not yet available in California, New York, and Virginia.
