Training Camp Risers and Fallers, Luther Burden III Injured, Australia Jet Lag Scouts, and the Worst NFL Jersey Ever

The fantasy football podcast hosts discuss the chaos of training camp injuries, emphasizing the need to draft late to avoid losing players. Luther Burden’s groin strain is a key topic; he may miss a month but could play Week 1, leading to a slight draft drop. The Bears’ defense is banged up, potentially making them a shootout team, boosting the value of Burden, Roman Dunezay, and Colston Loveland, though Loveland’s price may be too high. The Lions’ offensive line is a concern due to center Cade Mays’ injury, which could lower Jameer Gibbs’ ceiling and hurt Jared Goff, who struggles under pressure. Similarly, the Commanders’ left tackle injury might affect Jayden Daniels, but his mobility helps. Minor injuries to Christian McCaffrey and JK Dobbins are noted, with Dobbins’ issue making rookie Jonah Coleman a sleeper. Training camp hype for players like Jacobi Lane and Denzel Boston is discussed, but redraft value is limited. The hosts also explore the Rams’ jet lag experiment for their Australia trip, comparing travel strategies, and critique the Bills’ new gray uniforms. They conclude with fantasy league ideas, such as a "grenade" mechanic to sabotage opponents, and highlight rising and falling draft players like Stefon Diggs. Overall, the episode balances injury analysis, sleeper picks, and lighthearted banter.
Welcome to the rigour fantasy football show, my name is Dana Huffett, and today I'm joined by Danny Kelly and Crackle World. Back to today. We're going over training camp rise. There's training camp followers and training camp entries because at the beginning it was just the 49ers getting hurt, but you get now the other 31 teams are also getting hurt. It is an absolute blood bath out there, guys. Just bath of blood. Get me to September. Please. Yeah. Yeah. Greg, your beloved Luther Burton, all your favorite players get hurt every year. We're going to get into Craig's anguish and again, Ryzen's followers, all the quarterback battles that aren't really quarterback battles, but first we're going to take a quick break. This episode is presented by Verizon. Let me tell you all about Verizon's new simplicity plan. You get one plan, one price, just $30 a line per month, even for a single line. So while everyone is running for trade analyzers before offering a backup tight end, Verizon said one plan, one price. Sometimes the simplest move is the best one, like the simplicity plan. Head to Verizon.com today. For new customers, $30 per line includes auto pay and switch discount. Title taxes, fees, and terms apply. Unlimited data is restricted to on-device smartphone usage, domestic data roaming at 2G speed. Craig, your favorite player every year gets hurt in August, and I don't know why, but Luther Burton hurt his groin. And I feel like your groin is also injured, Greg. I have sympathy pains with Luther Burton. He's a kick with Luther Burton. He's a groin, yeah. Yeah. This is legitimately devastating. Look, people thought it could have been a lot worse. People were fearing ligaments torn out for half the year, out for the whole season. It's a groin strain. It appears as though he's going to miss basically the rest of training camp, and he'll be healthy in about a month, which is right around when the season starts. It's a mess. The Luther Burton rocket ship was almost at the moon, and I was convinced this guy was the next to Monroe St. Brown, or better, to be honest. And look, I think this docks him a little bit. This obviously stinks. Like him not being able to get an entire month of training camp with the team is a problem. You know, the online, the Twitter doctors are saying fear of re-injury based on this strain, not terrible. He was also walking around today, today, Monday, at practice without a limp. But the people were saying that was a great sign this early on, so I'm holding out help. But yeah, this is not great. I don't like this at all, just because the groin injury feels like one that you're just so liable to re-injure as you go through the year, especially late in the year when it's colder. And you're trying to cut and change direction and do types of things that receivers really need to do. Like he's walking around fine. That's great. But when he's cutting on like a soft grass and it really like, I don't know, that just really worries me. You don't love to see injuries like this in preseason, especially when he was just going so well. It's been a really messy camp. Everyone's getting banged up. This is a good time to talk about when you should do your draft. I should say briefly before we get to the rest of the injuries, like back in the day, as possible. Yes, literally. Like the week of the season, I would do your draft. Like September 6, 7, 8, 9th, like that range is, it feels weird to do it right before the season. You get antsy. I used to do drafts in like mid-August back in the day in high school and stuff like that. And I remember we did a draft and a guy in my league took Jamal Charles and the next day Jamal Charles towards ACL and it's like, you just don't want, you don't want that. So you need to be drafting the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday before the season starts. So you don't have to deal with shit like this. So I guess you're taking it well. It could be worse. It could be worse. He might play in week one, you're acting with Luther Burton's daddy, might play in week one, might practice the Wednesday for the season. So how much are we moving him down that if you see him quite upset? Well, I have him ridiculously high. So I'll probably have to lower him to a level closer to the two of you. I'm not docking him a whole lot. I might dock him half around, something like that, nothing crazy. So where are the players that you're, where are the players you're taking Luther Burton around? Right now, I have Luther Burton going around like Mike Evans, Devonte Adams, range. Like a fourth round player. Yes. Maybe he becomes a fifth round player. And we'll see how he progresses as we get closer to the season. For me, I feel like you can't push him down too far, because then once you push him down like two rounds, then you're hitting a group of receivers that are just the, the, the range of scenarios with these guys are so, so wide. I mean, we're talking about like Jordan Tyson, Carl Tate, two rookies, DK Metcalf, Parker Washington. So I think it's, I think it is fair to like move him down with maybe one round just based on the fear of him, having a setback, but I mean, if he is set to probably start the season and play, then we'll, we'll be okay. This just sucks. This stuff matters. Like I think if he plays week one, if this isn't going to limit the amount of snaps he plays, I don't think he's healthy. But I just think the connection and being there in this complicated Ben Johnson offense for a month, like not being there matters. And I, I do think there's a chance that it could limit the way he starts the season from a production standpoint. But if he's healthy, it's like, you know, you're, if it's August 25th and you're heading into your draft and Luther Burton is back at practice and healthy. Like you're, you're drafting him. You're not really changing your opinions on him. It's just, it's just kind of a bummer from a development standpoint. Hi, Fitz. Are you, are you moving Roman Dunezay and more, maybe more importantly, Coulson Loveland up because of this or do you just kind of leave them and see how this all goes? I don't know if there's room for Coulson Loveland to girl up. I think Coulson Loveland's already as high as he's going around like before Lamar Jackson. I don't know how much higher Coulson Loveland can go. I think the, my question with the Bears is, while we're talking about it, Bears injury. So the safety Kobe Bryant is also out. So they signed him from your Seahawks DK and he was essential to the CLX defense of the Super Bowl win and then signed for three years and 40 million Chicago. And now Kobe Bryant's out eight to 10 weeks. And the Bears had like one healthy safety left who had played an NFL step. So they had to go and sign Xavier Woods, who's, I think, 31 years old. And I bring that up because 31 was 31 and unsigned on August 8th in the NFL is pretty bad. And so 31 and unsigned. So think about that. Well, you know what? I mean, it's safety. I kind of actually do. They're like enforcer. More like dangerous. He's like, Jamal. I'm just sit there and tell everyone what to do. I don't, yeah, I don't know if I could make it as a safety. Hyphids is the new Terry Tate office linebacker. They should redo that with Hyphids. I heard Larry just tell you about Cam Chancellor this. I don't know if this is an old clip or a new one, but I heard, I watched the video and I was like, man, that makes me miss Cam Chancellor so much because he's just, that's right. It's lurking over the middle. Just trying to take somebody's head off. There's no easy catches over the middle of field. That's all hyphids right there. Well, you know, it's well taken hyphids. Are you basically saying that the Bears are a sneaky candidate to be the shootout team of the year? Yes. I think that we, we've kind of, we all know the Bengals and the Cowboys are these like high octane offenses with terrible defenses. And I'm like, well, the Bears secondary is supposed to be the strength of the team. And now, if Kobe Bryant's out, but I mean, more than two, I mean, something, you might be out for the first half of the season, maybe, talk about, they have a rookie deal in team and who we like him at Oregon, he's a rookie safety and safety is really complicated position in the NFL nowadays. And then, you know, everyone's coming back from injury, Kyler Gordon's delayed from a calf strain. And it's like, that's the strength of the team. I think the Bears have one of the worst four front sevens in the NFL. They don't have a great past rush. I don't think they have a great interior and the linebacking, it's not ideal. So I don't know. I look at this Bears defense and I'm like, I don't know. I feel like all the other teams at the NFC North are going to be able to move the ball in the Bears. And I'm wondering if they're a team that wants to run, but they're actually going to end up throwing quite a bit. And there's a world after all this debate about Luther Burton and Loveland and Roman Dunes eight. I wonder if the Bears throw so much that all of them end up being good picks. And I was going to say a lot of this, a lot of the preseason narrative so far has been, you either love Burton or you love O'Dunesay and you can't love both. You know what I mean? Like, how dare you? You could never love both of these guys. And if both of them are really good this year, and you could love land, close to the West. I'm really sorry if I was I was again, I wish I could tackle you, right? I'll never do that again, but I had the anchor man. I love lamp in my head for I love land and I had to go land. And we know it's funny. The Bears are actually quite thin at receiver. Like once you get past Burton and Dunesay, it's like, they have a rookie Xavier Thomas if it Collie frame and Scotty Miller, if Roma Dunesay's got a foot issue that he's not dealing with every day and Luther Burton with this groin, it is a little bit thin. I mean, if one of those guys goes down, today Walker is going to be scoring huge points. The line between I there's a couple guys like, oh, yeah, they've returned punts like Scotty Miller and Collie frame and and that is off a cliff into people that are like NPCs. I learned today that Scotty Miller is on the Bears now. Oh, nice. I unfortunately look, I'm all in on the Bears, but I I don't know why, but for some reason this training camp more than in past years, there are certain guys that are receiving a lot of hype that I that I'm just believing and I don't know, like I believe all of the Luther Burton stuff wholeheartedly. These shit, there's other guys that will get into that that I kind of believe. But like, even the coast and love and habits, I know you block a little bit about how high he's going in drafts, but like I kind of just believe coast and love and is going to be a huge part of this offense. That's going to be really good and it's going to work out. I do believe that the
that these three guys that do the burden and leveling are all kind of going to work out on the bears. I want to love coastal love. I just walk a little when it's like, okay, if you should third pick on them and that starts to scare me a little because suddenly just the track don't look down like there's a long lot away from the drop and not that much higher you can go when you're talking about a third round pick. But overall, yeah, the bears offense coastal love and could be the leading receiver on the team. Like coastal love that I believe all the ceiling and everything. I like the bears. That's the thing. I hate the idea that I become anti. I love the bears. My concern is just, well, no, I do wonder if the defense is going to be so bad that at the volume will just make up for everything. The bears, I don't know. DK, what do you make of everything? Because I do think that the other thing that's not being talked about enough is that the Pope was named from Chicago and then the bears went on on the most miraculous route I've ever seen. And will that continue? That's not absolutely not being talked about enough. I don't know. I think it is one of those things where there's a lot of moving pieces in this offense. We don't know exactly how it's going to shake out in terms of like target rate and everything. I want to trust. I'm kind of, I lean to be with more with Craig here where I just want to trust Ben Johnson and the fact that he's going to get a lot of this offense. And I think there's a there's strong chance that it's just concentrated between those three Luther Burton, the Rommadoon, say, Colson, Loveland. I do worry a little bit like if you remember a few years ago, Sam Laporte had like an outstanding rookie season and then he kind of the next year fell down the higher, like the ladder hierarchy in terms of targets and everything in James and Williams as he emerged. We've talked about how James and Williams and Luther Burton went to the same high school. Like they're somewhat similar type of players, really electric speed, get the ball in space. So throw straps. There is, I think of the guys, I am with high feteer on the contrary that I think Colson level is probably priced like very near his ceiling. There is a chance he outplays it, of course, and they're throwing out the name Travis Kelsey. I saw a report today that they think he's like their Travis Kelsey. I'm like, okay, we'll see how that goes. But yeah, overall, I think you're right. Colson, Loveland is scarily priced. I probably am most in on Roman Dunesay now just because of Luther Burton's growing injury. I think, you know, I still believe in the talent. You're number one, all this rules since I've known you is you don't like receipt of his foot injuries. That's my mantra. The first thing you've ever said to me about fantasy football, I think. Yeah, but he told me that it's fine. I said I'm choosing to believe that it's fine. All right. I can't figure out when these guys are going to get hurt or not. You know, Roman Dunesay has a foot injury. And meanwhile Luther Burton's tearing his groin off his bone. Am I the highest on Luther Burton now on this show? Am I now the highest person on him? You physically cannot be higher than I am on Luther Burton. The question for you too is right now, if you had to draft Roman Dunesay or Luther Burton, who you draft in first decay. Right now, I'd probably take a Dunesay. I'd take Burton. We have him ranked pretty close, right? I do think the Bears are going to throw a lot this season. We haven't been so many ridiculous turnovers last year that if the Bears, when they don't lead the NFL and turnovers and they have this like bad front seven with an injured secondary, they're just going to not be able to stop anybody. Don't forget the Bears Packers playoff game. Ben Johnson went for a fourth down. I want to see six times and everyone was like, oh, it's analytics. I'm like, it was because the defense sucked. Like he was factoring that in. That's I don't think they're going to be that much better this year. So I'm just saying before this injury, we had Luther Burton, Y or C or 23, a Dunesay, Y or C or 26. You're saying that shouldn't change. I'm holding on that, I think. Okay. Not a ton. Hold. Yeah. Hold. He's going to play in week one, probably. The other receivers, we even mentioned Caleb Williams permafrost. We mentioned permafrost that whole conversation. The other thing I want to mention. So the Lions of some injuries too. So I want to start with the Lions Center. Cade Mays broke his wrist. He's out eight to 10 weeks. I think this is a big deal. I mean, Lions were abysmal with their center play last year. It really undid the entire line season was how bad the interior offensive line was. So now they sign Cade Mays to fix their offensive line and free agency. Now he's hurt. So they're going to have to move juice shrugs or bend barge. Some guard is going to have to play center now. And I don't think anyone's concerned enough about this to be like, oh, Jamir Gibbs is in our number one overall player anymore. However, at this point, I feel officially obligated to tell people that Jamir Gibbs, our number one ranked overall fantasy football player running back has kind of a bad offensive line. It's like, I feel officially crazy. It's crazy how quickly these offensive lines can unravel. I mean, it was like two years ago, the Lions had an absolutely dominant offensive line. Then they had kind of a cascading effect where injuries guys leaving. And now they have Penny Sule, who's one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL moving positions. He's going from right tackle to left tackle. There's so many just, you know, variables here. Blake Miller, the right tackle is a rookie. So the other thing, high fives, I I think there's a little concern for Jamir Gibbs. Ultimately, he's still going to get a ton of volume. I think this lowers maybe his ceiling just a little bit in terms of how many touchdowns he's going to have. To me, the real worry is the passing game. Because I think Jared Goff among all quarter, maybe the most sensitive to interior pressure of any quarterback. And I think the numbers kind of bear that out. Like in terms of playing his, his EPA for past with pressure versus not is like one of the highest deltas of any quarterback in the NFL. We've seen him. I mean, he just can't move. He can't throw off platform. When he's playing in rhythm, it's, it's awesome. I mean, it's like firewall. What's up? Can't move about a professional football player. Well, everything's relative. Yeah. He is as old school as it gets from a park and bark perspective. Jared Goff. Yeah. So that that's worrisome. That's not going to make me move on. They're all saying down a lot or or much at all. But it does worry me a little bit. The overall output of this offense could could be dramatically lower. He said it lowers gives his ceiling. It also lowers the floor. I mean, weeks since I mean, Jamir Gibbs didn't have like some amazing end to the season last year in the Lions lot. I mean, dude, week 16 Jamir Gibbs had two yards, two yards rushing. And then Christmas for the Vikings, the Vikings blitz just blitzed the absolute crap of the Lions interior line because the center grand glass guy was out. They had no idea what was going on on Christmas. I think that was game was on Christmas, right? Yeah. And Christmas morning. And they just kept having Gibbs. Go ahead, stay in and block, dude. And they just kept rocking Gibbs and in past protection. And I yeah, I'm like, I'm a little concerned, honestly. So it's a good news. Here's the good news with Gibbs. He's not going to come off the field ever because his backup just got hurt. I say a check out. So this is also weird about the Lions. So a David Montgomery gets traded to Houston. And I say a Pecheco sprains his MCL. So he they're like, Oh, he'll be able to play week one. But now I say a Pecheco is going to miss like Luther bird in a month of practice. Here's the weird thing. So Jamir Gibbs is our number one player. And he just signed a big contract extension. He's going to get a huge workload. But let's just say Jamir Gibbs gets hurt. And I say a Pecheco is hurt. The Lions don't really have a third string running back. Like at all, the Lions third string running back is Cioni Valky, who was like a safety at Utah. He has more tackles than carries in college football. And Cioni Valky played one snap at running back last year. He's a special teamer. And then every other player on the Lions that running back are like also like NPCs. People you've never heard of undrafted free agents that like are clawing to be special. You don't know much about Kyle Robyshow. Oh, Robyshow. Oh, Robyshow. Yeah. No, sorry. It's not Kyle. It's Kai. It's Kai. There's no worry. Small. Ironic. They have a guy named Jabari small and Jacob sailor. No, these players are real. Yeah. I can't tell if this is a week beginning of fantasy drafts. Like I can't tell if Jameer Gibbs and Bajant Robinson are not as good as other past years or like are at least what you thought going into the season when it was like Seikwon was the clear 101 or McCaffrey was the clear 101. Gibbs has the offensive line worries. Although Dan Campbell recently at a press conference was basically saying like we are going to give Jameer Gibbs the ball as much as humanly possible. And we are going to push him to his physical limits. Which is choice. Which is very Dan Campbell, but he was like this guy's not coming out the field. He's going to get a million touches every single game. And we want to make him a Hall of Famer. So that's great. But the offensive lines have their own concerns there. And then you have Bijan who's like I think the Falcons have an okay offensive line, but the quarterback play and the offensive situation there is like a little bit weird too. And then you go down the line and you have Christian McCaffrey on you know next to the substation of the Niners and he's 30 years old. And it's like there are definite risks with each of the top three running backs going in drafts. Yeah, no, it's I mean that not that it's ever a perfect situation, but it's just weird. And again, Jameer Gibbs has the most touchdowns of any player ever through three seasons. Like there's a reason he's first. He's literally got the most touchdowns ever. But I'm mostly just fascinated from the line's perspective. Now that Pacheco sir, they got to sign someone because again, let's say Jameer Gibbs is doing forget to get hurt. If Jameer gives us to tie his shoes and then comes out for the practice, the running back subbing into the first team with the lines that has to play with the starters is Jabari Small? Like that's what are you talking about? I wrote a show. I wrote a show for a month. They have to sign somebody. I think you got to go Velcro's shoes, right? You can't risk having untied shoes. That's a good point. No, there you go. That's that's really why Gibbs is the number one though. It's the Falcons have another option for B. John. Like, you know, the Lions just burned the boots. The Lions.
like there is only forward. They'll have to just pick somebody up on waivers or make a trade. I feel like this is ridiculous. Okay. Yeah. Go get like James Conner. Yeah. Honestly, yeah. Honestly, James Conner would be perfect. It's right. Yeah. It's a part is such a David Montgomery ass player. They should get James Conner. Okay. Other injuries that happened. So Washington, I, we really aren't, and yet it's called the Conner, however, we just give jinx is out left right in center. I believe one of the last things we were discussing in our episode, the most last time we recorded was how Washington's offensive line was sneaky underrated and decaised Laramie tonsils. One of the best left tackles. Anyway, he tours triceps almost immediately after we published that episode. So Laramie tonsils out most if not all of this season at left tackle, which means they're triceps by the way. That injury always happens. That's like once a year, some guy tears their triceps and he tore both. How do you do that? No, I think it's just one. Hard work. Hard work. I don't think he tore both triceps. I don't think I think he tore it. Like one triceps is still your left triceps. They kind of call it triceps, right? I think it's, I think it. Yes. I think it's only tore one side because he's having triceps surgery. But that's just on one arm. I've never thought about that. It's not really a tricep. It's tricep, right? Is it it biceps or bicep? For whatever reason, I feel like people call it a bicep. Yeah. But triceps, I feel like I'm thinking I think triceps for the singular of triceps is triceps. I love English. What about bicep? Let me check. I'm guessing it's the same. Just add one hilarious if it wasn't. Yeah, the singular form is biceps. Oh, so I think it's because the biceps, because there's two. So it's like even the one you're referring to two. So really, there's no scenario which we should say like flex your bicep. That's not, you can't say that. Not correctly. Okay. Well, actually, I guess we don't know how many of the seps, Laramie tonsil tour. He could have tore one of the three triceps. He's just walking around with like both his arms and full body cast or full cast or whatever, immobile. Yeah, he's not going to play great. So yeah, they Brandon Coleman who actually did start his rick year at left accol in 2024. Good enough, they did make the NFC championship game, but bad enough that they then immediately replaced them with Laramie tonsil. So yeah, all that stuff we were saying one episode ago about how much we were excited for Jim Daniels and Terry McLean in the running game. Deca has that feeling now. Less good. I feel like when you have an offensive line like Washington where there's kind of like a bunch of new pieces to it or at least some moving parts to it. Having just a foundational piece at left accol is so gigantic. I mean, think about the difference between over the years, what we've seen with Trent Williams on the 49ers offensive line. How much their offense as a whole suffers when Trent Williams goes out? I don't know where he comes from. I forget. Washington. Right. Yeah. Yeah. That was a unique thing. But the most, yes, extremely unique. He had a tumor on his head that wasn't made to play through. But I do think yeah, having a top tier left accol go out is going to make a big difference with your offensive line. I don't care like what offense line you are. It does look like difference. The reports are basically that he's going to be out to the playoffs. If Washington makes the playoffs, he could be back for the entire regular season. We have Jayden Daniels fourth overall or sorry, fourth as our quarterback in the quarterback rankings. Does this make you guys want to lower him a little bit? Yeah. I will say from a fantasy only point of view, maybe it means he scrambles more, which if you look at how we make money of this. Yeah, it's like, well, he'll be under duress more. So we'll have to run more, which is a positive. This body will be the constant state of flux. I don't think this. Maybe he drops down. Maybe he slips below burrow or her bird or however you feel about that. I don't think he changes tears. I guess I would say. Yeah, I agree with that. It's funny because I know we keep saying wait on quarterback this year and I want to. And then I see like Jayden Daniels going around like Rome at Dunesay. And I'm like, come on or Jayden Daniels around. I don't know. It's like, are you really? I mean, Garrett Wilson. Are you going to take Garrett Wilson over Jayden Daniels? Garrett Wilson is the perfect example for that exercise because no matter who you say other than Garrett Wilson, I'm going to take that guy usually. How long can we go or get Garrett Wilson or Tucker craft? Oh, Tucker craft was kind of was kind of George Kittle-esque last year. Back in practice, though. Are we actually moving anyone down or we're just nervous? Same tier. I might move him below guys like burrow and Herbert maybe. What about Diggs and Terry McLean? Diggs, we ended up putting actually kind of where McLean was and I mean, look at it. Look at what happened in LA last year. Like Herbert's tackles went down. I'll be at it was both. But the chargers and Herbert was significantly worse both in real life and in fantasy football without their top tackles. So we're kind of joking about this. But I mean, I think the fact that Jayden's really mobile to obviously like kind of protect himself against some of the liability that losing your left tackle has. But I don't know. It can't go too understated how important it is when your left tackle goes down. Yeah. Yeah. And that's the same reason I brought the lines in the center. Now we're half-getting. But I'm like, well, the last time lines lost their center, they scored 10 points in a game. Yeah. And they looked pathetic the entire time. I, yeah, I am concerned by it. It makes me feel a little better. The Brandon Coleman's played and he's not just some like, you know, random backup going in, but he tries to play as a mess. Yeah. But no, it's not great because there's think about how much time there is now for Brandon Coleman to get hurt. God. Yeah. True. Other, I think we'll talk everyone a little bit, but the other one I want the couple of other injuries that happens right now. We have no details on whatsoever. But DK, you texted me. We started right before we started recording and said, both Christian and Caffrey and JK for the Niners, JK Dobbins for the Broncos both got hurt. Dobbins gets hurt all the time and then McCaffrey, did he get fed to the substation or what happened? He's sitting out practice Monday due to tightness. Tightness. Tightness, we don't know where? No, no specific tightness. Just general tightness. Tightness, yes. That's fine. You know what? It's Christian. He should barely be practicing anyway. The less he practices, honestly, the better. I agree. Especially over that goddamn substation, which looms larger every single day. Yeah. Can they do somewhere cool? The Cowboys go to like Oxnard, California, and practice on the beach. And the charger is not just going to get the fuck out of the substation. They do. They do. They're looking at moving their practice facility. Did I tell you guys that Caroline is practice facilities also by a substation? Caroline is practicing right across. Wait, are you serious? Yeah. I've been meaning to tell you guys this for a week. I went on Google and I spent a lot of work. The Panthers are across the street from the substation. And I don't think it says Giants as the Niners one, but the Panthers are like the other most injured team. Like they lost Nick Scorton who's like basically their second best pass rusher to an ACL immediately. Chris Brazil, the third-run receiver towards ACL. They've had some other injuries, but it's probably mostly a bit, but it is. I did do the Google Street View investigation and they are directly across from substation. We should one day on the show we should do like stupid conspiracy theories. You kind of secretly believe we should because well, I feel like everybody's got one. I'm not a conspiracy theory person, but I also know that if you picked 20, like one of them's true of the top 20, you know, like I again, I don't think my microwave does anything to me, but I don't like standing in front of it when it's off. Yeah. Yeah. I just I feel weird and I'm sure that I'm wrong about that, but I see what happens to stuff in there. Do you guys do that? No, is this window protecting me from that? Would you hit the button? Do you like try to get out of the way? The door is not like the door seals, particularly tightly. I don't hang out right next to the microwave when it's no. I feel weird. Like in my kitchen, I don't want to if I'm doing something like I'm a stove in particular, I don't want to be right and free. Craig's wearing like one of those lead aprons that you'd use when you go to the extra aprons. Yeah. I mean, just the fact that when you when you're talking about microwaving something, you say nuke it is like, you know, this is some red flags. Yeah, that's the thing is nuke your spaghetti. It's like Jesus Christ. I don't know if my balls should be standing close to it. Imagine all these players did a substation. They're worried about their balls. I will say it's I wanted to make fun of everyone at first for believing in this, but they actually, the writers will have to move the practice facility because at this point, whether or not it's true, it'll never be debunked to the players. The players definitely get hurt there again and think that it was normal. There's just something so funny about like the owners who are going to have to spend how much money to do this. It is kind of just a PR move. It's like, hey, it's probably not a thing, but like everyone thinks it's a thing. So you got to just build a new practice. It's pretty funny. They should put like a big, you know, the green, the green monster at Fenway. They should do something like that that covers up the substation because it's just the ugliest thing I've ever seen. It's like at it, like if your kid keeps complaining that there's monsters in the closet, even if there aren't. At a certain point, you're going to have to address the closet situation and like, clean it out or something. Yeah, well, it's sacrifice something. Okay. So McAfry is tight as Jacob. Do we know what Jacob Dobin's injury is for Broncos? I get, I haven't seen this. I think Jonah Coleman is like the single best value to draft position. There isn't fantasy right now because Jonah Coleman, the rookie at Washington is not being drafted. I just think he will be the player who replaces Jacob Dobbins. And it's not Argy Harvey. I think Argy Harvey's Darren Sprolls. And I think Jonah Coleman will be the starting running back for the Broncos. And I don't know what happened at Dobbins today, but he's never played more than 13 games. Payton said soft tissue injury. So it's not a structural thing. But again, you don't love to see injuries at this point in the preseason. Again, Dobbins. I
Again, I actually, is this Jackie Dobbins is a sneaky candidate for if we did the, oh, if he never got hurt, how good he could have been all stars. Like Dobbins is a sneaky great candidate because he had a terrible injury. He is an amazing, amazing college running back. He was probably going to have an amazing NFL career. So I hate to be mean about it, but it's like Dobbins, yeah, he started one game in 2020, but he played 15. But since COVID, he literally hasn't played more than 13 games. Like Jonah Coleman will be on the field this year and he's the mix of he is the size of goal and stuff. And he's the ability to block and catch and it's like he could, he could get a, but goal, when you can get goal line touchdown carries and also third down dump offs in a Sean Peyton offense, I don't know and he's not being drafted. I just think it's a mistake. So what do you make of the RJ Harvey thing? We haven't talked about it. He's hardly at all. I think he's staring sprawls. I think it's the most overrated player in fantasy. He's just going to be in a rotation. Yeah. I mean, if you, if you look at every Sean Peyton offense, I think since he's ever been a play collar, there's no running back who's gotten over, I think 230 or 240 carries. Like it's just no one gets featured as the lead guy. So you can hope and pray that RJ Harvey turns into like Alvin Camera or something, but, but no one's going to be to getting 280 carries in the offense. It's not how Sean Peyton operates. And none of this, none of the guys on the team are capable of that, I feel like. I'd rather have Coleman with the last pick of a draft or Adam of waivers than RJ Harvey. I think to that point, Craig, I just don't think RJ Harvey is going to have his huge role, but he's going to be drafted near, you know, we are, you're happy around 100th. I mean, the upside for Harvey is like, if he becomes like whatever, he splits carries on first and second down and is the third down guy and they really feature him in the passing game. That is often how you find upside and fantasy football is like, it's, it's usually the guys who catch passes, latent drafts, like those are the dudes you should be targeting. And RJ Harvey at least provides that upside. He does. It's true. I think I had the most passing times last year. This episode is brought to you by EA Sports Madden NFL 27. I just wanted to mention that Kirk Cousins fought Max Crosby. Who do you guys, who'd you guys bet on in a fight? Kirk Cousins or Max Crosby, the Raiders, who do you think would win? Kirk Cousins was on team America world police. So I don't know, I think I still might take the guy who's way bigger, way stronger, way faster, way more reach that guy. Max Crosby. Yeah. Two more X's in his name way more X's in his name. What is Kirk have going for him? Kirk is what 38 years old and has a ton of killies. He does have like four kids though, maybe some dad's strength, factored in there. More to live for. Perhaps from a family perspective, maybe he'll go for it, you know, he's got four kids to raise. I feel it does have it does having more to live for, make you worse or better at fighting though. Interesting. Great question. Depends if you trapped in a corner. Well, right now, a hyphids versus DK, hyphids doesn't have any kids. DK does. Also, Max Crosby has more motivation. Who's more motivated? Max Crosby has one child. Well, he's got one. Kirk's got how many? Oh, I think Kirk only has two, and okay, I've only had four for some reason. He's twice as much. Kirk does feel like a four kid guy. That's like when Phil Rivers came back and everyone realized that he extended his like health insurance for his family for like five or years, for the eight kids left, he is still under 20. Yeah, that gets that adds up, man, to spend now Max Crosby's like minus 3,000 to win that fight. Vegas would not take bets on it. Max Crosby is going to pick him up and drop him on to his knee, like fucking bane in Batman. Just break Kirk. Crosby's back. All right. We've been negative for long enough. I want to be positive about training camp. All right. Let's talk about Carson mother fucking back. This was an absolute sensation over the weekend. The Hall of Fame game. The whole thing game was crazy. It was the ending was insanely. This was maybe the best preseason football anyone's ever seen. Both offenses were crisp. First of all, let's talk about Carson back. Okay. I watched this game. Okay. Carson Beck looked actually really good. People were legitimately excited about Carson Beck. We'll say there's a lot of concerns about his elbow coming back from that injury. He had kind of a noodle arm last year. His arm looked fine in this game. He connected on two deep shots. And I thought there was plenty of velocity on the ball. That was great. He looked super calm, collected. I will say not a lot of recognizable names on the Panthers defense playing in this game. I don't think that anyone was doing anything special in terms of disguising coverages and things of that nature, trying to mix things up and get to the quarterback. The real. I think the real takeaway from the Hall of Fame game though, if you were actually looking for one was the Cardinals offense looked different, a lot different in this game than it did last year. A lot of under center, a lot of under center play action. The Cardinals last year did not use under center play action hardly at all. They were trailing it almost every game. So I was probably a big part of it. But they were a high pass rate, high straight drop-back team. And I think that's going to change a lot this year. They're going to be like play action, run the ball, be balanced. Maybe this isn't breaking any news, but that to me was kind of the big thing I noticed about this game is. And I thought Carson Beck fit into that really well. Now is there any takeaways from the Carson Beck thing? I might have more takeaways if Haynes King hadn't looked even more awesome. And he's an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech. Panthers. Did he hit the game when he played? Yeah. This is a guy. Here's a guy. Collinsworth was admitted to using it for him, by the way. Here's a guy who. I love it. They made Collins or do this. And Collins is free. He's in love with him too. This is genuine. He fucking loves football. They can't even for one moment break character and be like, yeah, it's the preseason in it. This matters. They. I think it is. It is like importance to remind you right now, preseason football is so different than regular season football. We've gotten that out of the way. That said, I mean Haynes King, man, 6, 2, 2, 12 runs of 4, 4, 6. We got Adam Schefter on McAfee talking about how the panthers see him as a taste of hell type of player. I'm in. I'm adding him on dynastie leagues. He was the hot dynastie. Add this. This week. I'm. I'm. I'm disgusted. I'm disgusted with you. Craig is disgusted. You've watched four quarters of panthers, Cardinals, Hall of Fame game football. He's talking about adding guys in dynastie. I was watching the final drive again this morning for Haynes King. And I think I recognized one Cardinals defensive name. He's he's watching tape on the whole thing. He's going back from war. He didn't have enough. I think my takeaway with Carson Beck is that he looked like he's played a lot of football and he did look comfortable. Yeah. He looks like a guy who's played like 50 or 60 college games and I thought like kind of looked the part whether or not anybody on the field is going to be on a roster in a month. But I don't know. I thought he passed the eye test from like a comfortably standpoint. It's better than him being really bad. Yeah. Of course. Yeah. Yeah. That is true. If you're looking for a takeaway, playing well is better than playing really poorly. That's true. I'll give you that. But he did look good. He did look good. I'll just never forget Kenny Pickett's preseason when he-- Kenny Pickett was in this game, by the way. Exactly. Exactly. Exactly. OK. On his fourth team, how many teams can he pick it but on? Steelers, Browns, Eagles, now panthers. How many teams do you have? That's a great question. Four is fours. I believe the correct number. He has played four. There were segments going on on ESPN saying-- He was on the Eagles. Kenny Pickett is the next guy. He was on the Eagles. And then he was on the Raiders. Oh, he's on the Raiders. So it's his fifth team. Wasn't he on the Browns? No. Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Philly Raiders and now the Cardinals. Well, no. He wasn't on the Browns. He didn't play for the Browns because the Browns ditched him in like four months. The Browns got him in March and get rid of him in like August or something. But he was on the Browns. He was on the Browns. He just didn't play. This is 15. Okay. So the point is preseason is stupid, but also we have to clean like 10% of it that matters. All right. Let's get something that really, really matters a lot, which is all the hype out of preseason for random players. That really does matter, right? This is training camp hype, not even preseason hype. The first guy we have to talk about is Jacobi Lane, the receiver for the Ravens out of USC. The Ravens went and got two receivers. So I just saw out Indiana who like led the college football touchdowns and then Jacobi Lane from USC, who is basically just catches everything thrown his way. And Dick, I feel like the book on Jacobi Lane coming out of college was can't separate, but can't not catch a football. Right. Yeah. Give us this guy to your point. He's a big guy right? He's like six four two hundred. Yeah. And if you, if you call that big, he's tall. Yeah. And very long. He has great length. He's like 80 inch wingspan. He has huge hands. And I have 10 and a half inch hands. And he's fast. He ran like a four or four. So he has the length and the speed combo that is definitely intriguing. I think coming out though, the reason he wasn't ranked much higher on for most people is just kind of one dimensional, didn't separate a ton, kind of still learning how to route, like route people up. But man, he, he, he, he can dominate at the catch point. He's got a huge catch radius, which is like basically, I think it's, it's, there's a chance here that he just is one of those guys that kind of got lost, lost in the wash. fits well.
with the offense that the Ravens want to run. And I think, you know, with Lamar, chuck it up to him, let him come down with it. I saw Jamison Hensley who covers the Ravens. He's 27 years covering the Ravens. I'm not sure I've seen a rookie as have a training camp quite like wide receiver at Jacobi Lane. To me, that gets my attention because you see a lot of hype every year. - It looks like he's the Ravens at one Pro Bowl receiver in 27 years. - The best for 30. - The best training camp for a rookie I've ever seen. I don't know. So I don't, you can't go a day without hearing his name though. I will say that. He is a, he's maybe the star of training camp across. - Cuckabee Lane, he is, his ball skills, like his ability to catch the football coming into college was better than a nine and a 10. - Like T Higgins ask, almost when I kept, when I was watching him, I was like, you know, at least at the catch point. The way he kind of spins and gets his feet down, he's very flexible and good body control in the air. I don't know, there's something there. But yeah, I can't believe the hype. I mean, it's pretty crazy. So far. - I think they end up starting for them. - I do not think Cuckabee Lane is anything for redraft or anything for this season. I think that he's a good example of a player that like honestly kind of reminds me a little bit of Isaac Tisla, his rookie year, where it's like he's gonna do some absolutely crazy shit. And Cuckabee Lane will probably end up like number one on sports center, but he's not gonna be in fantasy. - The difference though is like, Isaac Tisla was behind a Monro St. Brown and James and Williams and Sam LaPorta and the team had Jemeer Gibbs, who's also catching a ton of passes. The Ravens have Zay Flowers and Rashad Bateman and Mark Andrews. - Yeah. - There's a, it's a much lower barrier to entry here for Cuckabee Lane. - He's kind of like, you know how Ken Walker would do all the work and get to the goal line and his next sharpening would score. It's gonna be Zay Flowers. Zay Flowers are gonna just get to the Ravens to like the four and then they're gonna like hand the ball to Derek Henry. He'll get stuffed twice. And then on third down, they're just gonna throw some crazy ball to Cuckabee Lane and he's gonna catch it for a touchdown. - So you guys. - It'll catch for six yards in the touchdown every week. - Do you guys think Cuckabee Lane is worth drafting and redraft at any point? - No. - In a 12 to, no, not at all. - Probably not. - I think, I'd have to see it and be like, maybe he's a wave rat. I don't think he's the kind of player that's gonna come out. He's not like in Ibuka where, Ibuka starts hot because he's like very polished and competent across all these ways. I think Lane, he's perfect for training camp. He's a perfect player to stand at a training camp. What does that mean for you guys with like the Browns players in fantasy? Because Densel Boston, the rookie receiver, again at Washington, who we all liked again, I keep thinking of him as a six foot four punt returner, which is just not a thing. He's agile, he's good in contested space. He's been like these stand out rookie and training camp separating. But he is playing with Deshawn Watson. And I'm like, do you want Densel Boston and fool yourself in the Siren Song over receiver with a guy that Watson, the last time we saw him two Achilles Terrace ago, was horrible. And now he's torn Achilles twice since then as a quarterback and has barely played football in like a couple of years. Do you actually, do you want Boston? Do you want Harold Fanon? Do you like want these players in your team decay? - I don't know, probably not. I definitely want Densel Boston and Dynasty and Fanon and Dynasty. But this year, let me ask you this, Hi-Fence, because I think I lean, I'd rather have Deshawn Watson starting from fantasy point of view in terms of like who, which quarterback is gonna give this offense a little bit higher ceiling? I think it's still probably Deshawn Watson. I think they had just run such a limited offense with shooter sanders and we saw what it looked like last year. Everything's just dump-offs and get rid of the ball and I don't know, and tons of sacks. And I just, I think even though the last while we saw Watson was really, really poor, if there is a chance that he can kind of shake off some of the rest and get somewhat closer to what he was. You know, prior to, when he was with the Houston Texans, I think that would give the offense much better like upside and fantasy. Densel Boston, you know, Quenchon Jutkins, all some of these guys that were a little bit scared to draft right now. - Would you rather draft Densel Boston and re-draft this year? - Oh, yeah. Because of my priors, yeah. (laughing) Mainly, even though the Ravens offense is probably gonna be way better. - I think Densel Boston could actually be like a number one receiver in the NFL. Like, I mean, Densel Boston could be like, his ceilings like Nico Collins. - Traditionally speaking, he fits the profile much more as a true number one. And so everything you've heard about him in campus, he's been outstanding. I mean, running routes, winning at the catch point, play strength, I think that's the one thing that Jacobi Lane might not have is like the play strength aspect of it where you're fighting through coverage and fighting through contact at the catch point and all that stuff. So that's Densel Boston is just, he's a beast. So it's cool to see the hype that he's had. Again, the quarterback situation sucks, but I think I still would rather take that. - Jacobi Lane is a good player. I'm not trying to like be negative, but I do think it's funny. The quote from Jameson Henley was doing a lot of work. Whereas like in 27 years, I've never seen a rookie of the camp like this. I wasn't kidding for. Zayflowers is the only proble receiver of the history of the Ravens. They've never had good players. Like it's the odd job. It wasn't practice like it's on there. - They had to give Zayflowers $30 million a year. (laughs) - Just saying, I don't know. He's good though. The other guy that's high, so Densel Boston, I will move him up in a rankings. I do, it's just two baddies in the Browns. The other, Jalen Coker for the Panthers, I mean, he's a way more established player than these other guys. You know, he's, I feel like because Jalen Coker, he was untrafted, right? Now he's just like the bona fide number two receiver for the Panthers. They gave him an 11 million a year contract extension. He's having a good camp, but he's just a good player. Like he's just gonna have a long, I feel like Jalen Coker's gonna have like a decade long NFL career. - Yeah, that's okay. The Panthers version of Parker Washington, where it's like the low and the draft guy that's like, does all the work, the underlying metrics. Everybody loves him. You can't, if you go on Twitter and type in Jalen Coker's name, like it's just tweet after tweet about all these underlying metrics about how great Jalen Coker is from an efficiency standpoint. I mean, I think he's definitely better than Xavier Legat. So it's like, you have him in Teterot and McMillan are the two guys in this offense. And if you believe in the Panthers to fault that pick up on the momentum of last year, Jalen Coker didn't play the whole season. A guy who's like probably, you know, could be somebody that you're starting in your fantasy season, half of the year. - Yeah. - Yeah. And Coker, and again, he's in a different class. I mean, that's a player we actually, I actually think you could play and it's fine. Also going like extremely late drafts right now. It's still early, but yeah. - Dude, the last person we haven't talked about has been hyped up crazy as Cyrus Allen. There's silver for the Chiefs to get who we've known. - I barely know who this person is. - Here's a mid-round pick. I think he was a fifth-rounder. He's another guy that, when you look at kind of his profile and what he did in college, he started out at Louisiana Tech to play two seasons there. Transfer to Texas A&M didn't really do a whole lot. And then transferred to Cincinnati and played one year at Cincinnati, didn't put up elite numbers. But he did score 13 touchdowns, which was I think third in the FPS. So, but like when you watch his tape, he's got some twitch to him. He can really get off line and separate, got from guys quickly, shaking coverage and getting open and getting over the top of a defense. Like that's the kind of stuff you see, but then the other underlying stuff, all the stats, I'm like, not really sure what to make of this guy. And that was kind of what happened with the NFL too. I think the NFL wasn't really sure what to make of him. But I will say, and this is something that Matt Harmon's brought up a bunch is like he might be the only guy in the chief's offense who can actually separate well from coverage like Rashee Rice, good at separating again zone. Xavier worthy, can't stay healthy. I don't know what if he's a big time separator, either he to me was more of like a run after the catch guy, get him a space guy. There's a there's a world in which Cyrus Allen is the guy who can separate for this offense. And the word out of the camp so far, an outward breer said there's very much part of the offensive plan for the chiefs. And he's back on the field, he got hurt briefly, but he's back on the field. I kind of lean that I'm sort of believing this that he could be a legit sort of sleeper and fantasy just because of the way that the other two, the other main guys in the receiving core for the chiefs are hurt. And you know, Rashee Rice went off the field the other day, banged up, he never really looked all that exposed to his start with. He's coming off a knee injury that he was rehabbing in jail. And again, I'll never, I'll never get over that. - That little, yeah, tidbit is fascinating. But I do think, you know, they need someone who can separate and create on their own versus like trying to scheme guys up on every single play. So that is what's fascinating about him. Again, I wouldn't like reach too high on him because he's a fifth round rookie, but I do find that pretty interesting. - I feel like the chiefs always have a guy like, I feel like the chiefs are very good at manufacturing this narrative of the offseason, but there's this like gem, wet receiver that we're sitting on. It's like, I forget who the all the names have been. It's like Justin Ross and-- - Yeah, Noah Gray. - There's always these like late-round sleeper guys that are popping off in training camp that never materialized for Kansas City. - Yes. I gotta tell you, I look at everyone falling over Siresal and the way like, you ever watch people do like Salvia? I've watched somebody do Salvia in person. - I don't watch people doing Salvia very often. - My friend did Salvia one time and I watched him do it in his living room. - How long did it last? - Just sat there watching. - Not very long. - Well, the drug, it's like a couple of minutes. It's not long at all. - That's how I feel watching Siresal and in 10 days, no one's gonna be able to remember. - Salvia, Alan. - I don't know. - Salvia, I'm just like, it's one of those players who I'm like, it's a nice story. I hope he makes, he's gonna make the team, but I think it speaks more to how much the chiefs skill player infrastructure has been allowed [BLANK_AUDIO]
I mean, that's a really mean thing to say, but like, I don't know. I just, she writes, I think it speaks more to the problems that chiefs have that he's immediately dominant. And maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Sarah Salon has a lengthy and healthy NFL career, but I'm like, yeah, I don't think he's going to be a factor. Well, maybe for the real life chiefs, but not fantasy. I tend to agree. All right. So, uh, everything trending in your algorithms is stupid and dumb. Is that, is that where we're at? Don't fully train and can't fight. No. It's usually stupid. Okay. This segment is brought to you by Chachi PT, the Ring of Fantasy football AI sponsor. So looking at the biggest risers and followers in average draft position over the last week. So the biggest risers are Stefan Diggs, obviously, because he's Simon Washington. Jayden Blue, who's the backup running back for Dallas, Jacobi Lane, the catch wizard for Baltimore, Marshall Lloyd, who's the backup running back for the Packers, Debo Samuel, because he went back to the Niners and the biggest followers over the last week are Antonio Williams, who again, Rick and Washington, but they signed Diggs. A run to Gadson for the chargers, because, you know, he might not play all the tight-end snaps. Kaelin Black, running back from Indiana and then Kenyans to D, running back, running back tight-end from the Jets, uh, tight-end from Oregon and went to the Jets and then Emmett Johnson, who's a running, a backup running back down the chiefs. DK, any of these guys stand out to you, either as a positive for the risers or someone to avoid on the fall. I mean, I think if you're talking about guys that you're, that believe the hype and believe why they're rising Stefan Diggs, to me, is the one. Um, I mean, we mentioned that the offense could suffer with the loss of, uh, Larry Tumsle, but still, I think Stefan Diggs has a chance to be a real factor in fantasy, and so this one feels the realist to me and the, and the guy that I'd probably be the most likely to, to go after in a draft. To me, I think the fact that a run to Gadson is a follower makes me want to draft him more. Like, I think if you can get him as the last pick in your draft, I think it's a worthy dart throw. I really do. What might McDaniel has been able to do with guys like Johnny Smith, Darren Waller, uh, the tight end position in Miami? I, I, I wonder Gadson was really good as Rick here. I mean, he had like over 600 yards and, and if he ends up being a guy who was on the field for more than 75% of the snaps, could be a legitimate player in fantasy. I agree with both of you. I think Stefan Diggs has a really good value, even with Larry McTumsle's injury at left tackle. I just think Diggs, again, that being top 10 in yards per rat run and top 10 in first downs per rat run as a receiver and then entering this Washington offense, he just, I am, he, I think Diggs, he's just a really, he's still got it, man. He's still a good player. And so I think he's not going to, you're going to be able to get Diggs as a, at a huge value. All right. Today's smartest thing this week was brought to you by ChatGPT work. A new way to use ChatGPT for a bigger multi-step projects. It can help turn stats and research into analysis so you can review. You still make the call. Put ChatGPT to work on your most ambitious ideas and projects. That ChatGPT work today, available to plus and pro plans. Okay. Other news, Craig, you flagged that the Rams and 49ers have different Australia plans for travel. I am fascinated by this. So base of week one, the Niners and Rams are playing in Australia. They have completely different travel plans. One, the Niners are going to get there a week early and try to acclimate. And the Rams are going to fly in like the day before the game and just kind of ride the adrenaline play and get right back on the plane. They're not going to go to sleep at all. They're just going to go right to the game. There's going to rip monster energies and play through the game. This is what the Rams did last year. They went to London. They did the same thing. They arrived the morning of the game. They beat the jacks 35 to seven and then they left. That's great. They arrived the morning of. I think I missed that. This was from Dan Graziano's report and he has been from last week because they're basically like trying to acclimate over the week is too difficult. And so you might as well just avoid it all together and just basically show up play a game and then leave. Which I just think is kind of fascinating. I don't know. What do you guys think about that? Like as you guys have traveled a lot like do you feel like day five into the vacation? You feel better or day one because I almost feel like day one is the worst day. Yeah. Day one to me is the absolute. I feel like, but I guess if you're really gaming it, you have these nice planes. You can try to like, yeah, it's private different than how we're flying. Yes. Like I went to Italy last year with Liz. And like the first day was the hardest day of my life. Like I couldn't keep my eyes. I couldn't walk down the street. I felt like I wasn't a dog. I mean, you're like a zombie being sleep deprived is like being drunk. I don't understand. But maybe you play better when you're drunk. That's like me. Beer pong. Yeah. What do you players play drunk? Marshall Lynch famously would take multiple. Let me guys take shots before games. So maybe I don't know if that means he was drunk, but he took a shot. I think it probably takes a lot from Marshall and let's get drunk. Fair enough. But I think it's weird. I went to Stockholm and I ended up staying jet lag the whole time because the Knicks played a game. One of the finals at 250 in the morning. So I just felt like I stayed jet lag the whole time. But Australia is a different animal. I mean, it's kind of insane. I mean, how different is Australia 12 hours behind? No. They're ahead. Yeah. So it's like basically the longest flight you can take from L.A. to Sydney. I mean, it is. I learned that in inception. Obviously. It's right. It's like a 16, 17 hour flight. What I found the most fascinating from 17 hours ahead of all say, it's fine. So right now, I don't know if we want to tell what time it is exactly here, but it's 12 o'clock. What are you hiding? What are you? It's new. It's new. It's noon Pacific right now. I don't know. I don't know. I care. Anyway, it's noon here. I don't know if we want to reveal our Rams. For the Rams and 49ers, it's noon o'clock in Sydney. It's tomorrow morning at 520. Yeah, dude. I thought I could never wrap my mind around that Australia. It's Tuesday. It's tomorrow morning. It's so weird. That's so weird. That's why the game for them, for us, it's Wednesday for them. It's Thursday though. I don't know. Sorry. It's for us. It's Thursday for them. It's Friday when they play. But I thought one of the most interesting parts of this whole thing was this is still from his report. The Rams had people from their organization fly from LA to Melbourne and back to track when and how much they felt the effects of the jet lag. They had jet lag scouts. That's amazing. Oh, that's a funny job. Can you imagine? What are you doing this week? I got to go to Melbourne and back because I got to see how shitty I feel for Sean McVeigh. And you're like leaving the same day. Someone got to stay in Australia for five days. And the other one had to fly back on the, they just fly there and get back on the plane after eight hours. They had to work out like they flew to Melbourne, like didn't really intense work out and then flew back. Probably. And they had to do a whole, they probably had a track. Here's my question. You fly the two guys out there with two people. How do you think they decided who got to do the five day Australian vacation and who got to just like get back on the plane the same day? You can just draw. You can just draw. Yeah. Who has more tenure there? I want to know if there's any shot in hell that somebody who did that is listening to this episode. I'm fascinated by this experiment. These emails, I want to know what you did. Like what the math was behind it. I'm just fascinated by the whole. I would like to know some people, if they have what is it called like, like tricks or tips for traveling internationally, where you're going, where you're getting massive amount of jet lag. How do you beat jet lag? But I want to know the Australians. People will be Australians listening. I want to know what they think about this plan and which plans better. Although I think these short answers, the Niners are crushing it because they're getting us far away from the substations they can for as long as possible. But literally, is there a point on Earth further from the substation that Melbourne? Yeah. They are getting out of Dodge as quickly as they can. If you think about it, like the way the way the Rams are doing this, they're getting close to a substation because they're getting close to the electrical electromagnetic field that's in space when they're flying on an airplane. Yeah. But we've learned electromagnetic field in space. No, I don't know. I feel like you can, I feel like when you're flying, isn't there like more risk of getting radiation from space or something like that? I feel like flying a lot is not very good for you. There's more radiation the further you get from the ground. What the fuck are you guys talking about? You know, our boy Brian Johnson, the guy who wants to live forever, he was talking about, he went to Australia recently and he was talking about how terrible the flight is for your biometrics. It's really bad for your body. When you fly in a plane, you are exposed to more radiation because you are closer to the atmosphere's thinner up there. The cosmic radiation is stronger the higher up you are. It's basically like being next to the 49ers substation. Right. Yeah. Although I don't doubt either of you, but how do both of you know this? We, how do you know anything? You hear it once and then you believe it. Air planes, you're getting radiation. But it's not from the plane. It's from the atmosphere. It's from, it's cosmic radiation, it's not the plane giving you radiation. Yeah. I saw the core with air in that cart. Right. I know about the solar winds or whatever. But then, you know, or whatever, DK, after not live super long. So maybe it is good for you. Do they? Yeah. Maybe is that just because they're type A freaks who are good at everything? I looked into this. We did a, we did a movie on the free walk, free complimentary. Dude, like Buzz Aldrin's still alive, like two of the guys from Apollo 13 just died a couple of years ago in their 90s. All these guys, all these astronauts live super long. Maybe that they were actually replaced by aliens when they went to space. And that's not actually them. That's the, that's the. How did they do that if they didn't go to space, DK? It's just pretend death. I did the research in the reason why it seems that astronauts live so long is actually way less cool than you think. I thought it was like special magic space dust that kept them alive as they were touched by the aliens. But in reality, it's that one to be an astronaut, you need to be like, it was 0.001% on the health scale. You need to be like, incredibly healthy. [BLANK_AUDIO]
who astronauts are, I didn't know this, that they get checkups on a yearly basis to monitor their health through their entire lives. - So why? - No, but like, I, like-- - 'Cause they're studying the effects of space travel. - Yeah, they're studying the effects of space travel. So it's like, the second these guys have anything, it's like nipped in the bud and then they live for them. So. (laughs) - Why were you looking at this up? Oh, 'cause you watched a movie. - What movie? - It's a rewatchables that's coming that I don't wanna spoil. - Okay. - Well, it's okay. I don't even feel what time it is. So I mean, we already kind of let it-- - I don't know why. - I don't care about that. (laughs) - I don't know why it's time it is. - I don't know if you wanna let people know what time it is. - Yeah. - People, we don't know where we are at any given time, you know. - The other thing I wanted to talk about is the bills have their alternate uniforms, the city connects. And it's nickel city, which is a great name for the bills, alternates. But the jerseys themselves are just kinda gray. - I don't mean this in a hyperbolic sense. - I think these are the worst NFL jerseys I've ever seen. (laughs) These are in abomination. I don't know why I get it. Nickel is gray, but like gray is the worst NFL jersey color. - It's crazy that they did this because I think these bills uniform. So you can, we can try to throw the graphic up on Netflix to spot if you're watching it. Just Google the bills. - These look like a mac. - Nickel city uniforms. - They look like the default team in a montage. - Am I wrong? - They look like uniforms DK? - Like a team from the Mac, I don't know. - Oh my god, they do, yeah. - It looks like a movie couldn't get NFL rights, so they had to create their own fake team. - Yeah, they're like in any given study like montage, so yeah, at least this is a fake team. - This looks like some fucking XFL shit. - I can't believe it. - Can't believe it. - I saw Josh Allen and he's running out. I don't know what that was. Was that a real video? He was like in a stadium filled with fans, but I don't know how that was possible. But correct, there's a 250 slide thing on the website for the bills I'm looking at. I don't know if I'm gonna look at all 250 of these uniforms. - You mean the slide of 250 photos of these uniforms? - There's 250 pictures in this slide reel or whatever. - Like I just don't, it's like, what if we made a grout fit a uniform? Like it's just all gray. It's horrible, it looks like they're in sweats and they're also the helmets are terrible. - At some point, the people designed these uniforms started playing scared. - I know. - Did you say a grout fit? - You ever heard of a grout fit? - No, I don't know what that is. - It's like when you wear like a gray sweatshirt and gray sweats together. - A grout fit. - A grout fit? - Yeah. - Okay. - I honestly like this might sound arrogant, but like I think I could fix the jersey situation in a day. Like I, I feel like I could just pick every jersey and make them good and I would go back. Just look at all the iterations of past bills jerseys. I'll just tell you which ones you should pick and iterate off of and we'd be golden. - It's not that hard. - I don't think it's terrible. - What's also annoying is it's annoying when they screw up teams that have awesome throwback uniforms. - Sure, yeah. - Like the bills with, and the bills have worn in before, but like just the white with just the red buffalo is great. - I totally agree. And I know you, I get, this whole thing's a racket where it's like you're just creating more new jerseys about like sell them probably, but. - Make them cool. - Make them cool by them. - Josh Allen looked lame. I've never said that in my life. (laughs) - He just named the second hardest quarterback in the NFL. - He just named the second hardest in the NFL. - He just named the second hardest quarterback in the NFL. - Okay. - E-mails. - E-mails. - Many people send us this. But did you see there's a list going around of the best names in college football? - Oh no. - There's a lot of good ones though. - There are some incredible names in college football. Obviously. - Current, current college football. - These are players for this season. - Oh, obviously. - We love the old Tommy Baseball names, but these are 2026 college football players. - Hmm. - Lunch Winfield. - Lunch. - It's named Lunch. - Lunch sounds like an old-timey name. - Yeah, he's gonna say, he sounds like he's on the White Sox in 1890. - This is a guy who one time his first year said, "Hey, do you guys want to go to lunch?" And then they just called it lunch for the rest of the life. - Exactly. - They're like, "Let's order back." - Quarterback named lunch, no less. - When's lunch? - Memphis is a quarterback named Air Nolan. - Air Nolan. - His name's Air. - Okay. - Is that his real given name? - I don't know. - I'm not gonna ask that for any of these guys. "Army has a running back named God's power." (laughing) - Okay. - This guy's on his way to be a good general. - I was gonna say, I can't figure out which name is more likely to be fake. - God's power. - General God's power. - No, it's first name's God's power. Last name is, I believe, in New Huawei, but his first name is God's power. - Oh. - That's actually weirdly more believable. - Yeah. - There are also running backs this year named Gravy, Turbo, and Tuna. - Gravy. - They're all great. - Turbo. - And Tiger. - Tuna Altair is maybe my favorite. Stand for Turbo Recharge. Gravy Johnson. There is a receiver you see like named-- - Gravy Johnson. - Dude, Gravy Johnson. (laughing) - Gravy Johnson. - Gravy Johnson. - Of course it had to be Johnson. - Gravy Johnson. - Gravy Johnson. - Taida named Ocean Brabs. - Ocean spelled like Ocean? - Yes. - Exactly. - Ocean Brabs. - Okay. - Ocean Brabs. There's a Oklahoma's got a Taida named Rocky Beers. - Oh, come on. - Holy shit. - Rocky Beers. - That's the most frat star name of all time. - Wow. - Rocky Beers. - That's funny. - You tap as a Taida named Cash Cheeks. - Oh, no. - That's the stripper name if I ever heard one. - Yes. - Cash Cheeks being a Taida. - That's the best one. That's the best one right there. - F-A-T. - F-A-T. - Oh, that means it's like a real name. - Which is truth. - F-A-T. - F-A-T. - F-A-T. Which is truth. - F-A-T. - F-A-T. - F-A-T. - F-A-T. Which is truth. - F-A-T. Austin Powers, now you're just fucking me. - Chance Campbell, DIC Hopkins. - DIC. - And one of them-- - Not to be confused with Decoldest. - No, not Decoldest, DIC. And then also my favorite, Ellis, Ellis, Jr. - Sure, Ellis, Ellis. - My top three, Rocky Beers, Cash, Cheeks, and Fat Forest. Those are awesome guys. - Fat Forest is unbelievable. I got to love Tarrant Salami. Tarrant Salami and I love King Large. - King Large. - And Gravy Johnson is good to-- - Favorite bait. I don't know what to do with that. - Favorite bait. - Okay. People also emailed in with Bill's idea about grenades. - Oh, right. I'm gonna tell you off the jump. I don't know if anyone really nailed it. - Okay. - Okay. - It's good to do. - I don't think it's any email-ish fault. There's something there, but again, if you didn't listen to the last episode, Bill, how would you explain it, Craig? - Bill basically wants that, the idea was like a grenade. Like, can you-- - You want to be able to saddle somebody else's team with a bad quarterback for one week during the season. - Can you sabotage someone? - Yeah. - So many people, you know, Bobby, haven't many people emailed it and pretty quickly nailed down one part of it, which we somehow did not, which is you need to roster the bad player on your team and then get you have to hold them and then you have to use it on other people. Which somehow we did not decide, but that's definitely the answer. Just a point of reference here. Do we, when you're using your grenade on another player, do you like the rule that it has to be the player, the person that you're playing that week? Or do you like the chaos thing of you just throw a grenade at someone else who's in a different match? Am I kind of like the latter? I think it'd be funnier if you're like, "Well, I'm like fucking over, Craig, even though he's playing hyphids this week." - Well, right, because if it's like week 13 and you and I are battling to make the playoffs, that makes sense. My question is, could everybody just team up on one guy? Like, could everybody in the league just give hyphids a different grenade for 13 straight weeks? - Yes, actually, that would be loud. I like to live in a world where that's possible. - So if it's just starting Carson back into Shawn Watson every week? - Well, I didn't think about it that way. It's a little dangerous. So here's the thing, people have even milled in. I think there has to be, you can't be one-free position, quarterback, running backwards. It's gotta go. - I know, quarterback, right? Here's the issue. If it's super flex, all the quarterbacks are gonna be rostered. Unless you think it's just a bad backup each week. - Well, it's gotta be somebody who's starting. That is roster. - You can't just, it's boring if it's this year throwing a player who doesn't play onto another's team, right? - That's the thing. It has to be a quarterback who's playing. - Right. - Which you can't, they have to be starting. - And you can't guarantee that happens. Like if Carson Beck becomes the starter, somebody might add him legitimately just in case, and then- - That's the thing. That is the flaws. I think if it was not superfluous.
- Flex would be doable. - Yeah. - Okay, so no super flex grenades. - I think it's a tough thing to do in tandem with super flex 'cause most quarterbacks are rostered. The only idea I heard that I thought tickled me enough to be, was an email from Evan. - Evan, e-bone. - This is not perfect, but there's something here. Evan said that for Bill's exercise of great quarterback, I propose a hot potato trade exercise with one person in particular, Tyler Schuck. He says, "I think you guys should tinker "with the idea of getting shocked." We're shucking your friends. - I'm okay. - And basically, after every week, someone can just voice Tyler Schuck onto someone in a 1v1 and you just trade him to someone. - What if he's good? - And then you have to play him and then you have to move on from every week. So it's the sisterhood of the pat of the traveling Tyler Schuck and someone's just, you're shucking someone every week. - I like that. I mean, the name Shucking is great, but I do think he might be. I feel like it has to be like Gino or somebody else that is a little bit more like Tyler Schuck might just be like the QB9 this year. - I agree. If he was worse, it'd be perfect. He's just good enough that it might be positive, but getting shocked is so good. We can't say getting G-node. You have to get shocked. - Shucked. - What if it's Aaron Rodgers and then you're immunized? - That's Rodgers. - There's something there. - Yeah, you're in, you're inoculating each team. (laughs) Each roster gets inoculated with Aaron Rodgers. - That could be work. - A brief immunization. - Yeah, that's not bad. A week-long shot in the arm. (laughs) - And then every week it's a booster. (laughs) - All right, that's the, that's not bad. - A week-long shot in the arm. That's a pretty good Craig. - So the way Evan said it could work is basically you would send Shuck or Aaron Rodgers and then you have to play him a quarterback. You have to play Rodgers that week. And then you have to move on from him the next week. You have to send him to somebody else. - Rodgers kind of fits this perfectly. - Rodgers would be really good for the bit. That would be good. - Ah, there's something there. Okay, that might be something there. - Let's noodle on that. - And then the last thing I want to say before we get out of here is Craig, we're doing, so if you're on our discord, bring your fantasy football show we've discord. Get in there if you like discord. We currently have, there's a 32 team G-at-team league. It's absolutely preposterous. Two teams are getting, so a G-at-team league is like, usually I think 16 teams and someone gets chopped every week. - Right. - Oh shit, I'm on the clock. - Yeah, you're, I was gonna say you're on the clock or you're gonna pick, it's 32 teams. I've never, it's insane. I've never done anything like this. - Is Luther Bern still out there, Craig? - You bet your fucking ass he is. - I think you better take him. - You gonna make your pick? - Craig took Drake, you took Drake May with your first pick and I was like, oh, that's interesting. What was your-- - Were you just afraid you wouldn't get a quarterback? - Yeah, so I did, I did G-team for the first time last year and I realized how important it is to have a good quarterback. - Well, yeah, Luther Bern is there, but so was Ibuka who I have ranked much higher and I really like Ibuka this year? - Craig, come on. - I think I'm gonna, what are we doing here? - What are we doing here? - This is your guy. - All right, maybe Bern will come back around when you're four days of picture now. When you take pictures. - Yeah, that was possible. - Who gives a shit? (laughing) - Fuck it. - So did you not want T-higgins? T-higgins right there? - Who cares? - That's my whole philosophy. - I'm in a 32-team G-at-team league. I'll have a little fun for Christ's sake. Wow, you technically have T-higgins ranked higher. - No. - My team is suck, whatever, I'll be out week three. - I literally also kind of want T-higgins, but I do keep thinking about how the Bengals have not been good in the first two weeks of the season like five years. - Right. - You're going to pick them up on the waiver wire in week six. - That's true. - If you're still alive. - Who can we make hyphids take? - I'm taking T-higgins. Oh, I already made my pick. - Oh, that means I'm on the class. - I should have done it. I should have took Garrett Wilson as a bit 'cause I shit talked him so much. He's probably going to win offensive player of the year. - DK, you're up. DK, you have to take Z-flowers. - What if I. - No, you have to take Waddle. You should take Waddle. - Yeah, you have to take Waddle. - I thought I was going to take Jaden Daniels. I regret not doing a bit. Now I feel them. - Yeah, that was lame. - Oh, I should have taken Skataboo, damn it. - Is Jaden Daniels aligned with the bit enough? - Absolutely not. - I think you have to take Z-flowers or Waddle or Skataboo. - Oh God. - That's your pick. - Take care of Rogers. - I don't like any of these. - Come on. - All right, I'm taking Z-flowers. - Oh my God, really. - Did he just get hurt? - Yeah, who's having this? - I just took a guy with Bruce. - I just took a guy who's out for a month. - We've all made our picks already. - Oh, man. - Whatever, whatever, dude. - All right, I forgot.
FAQs
Verizon's simplicity plan offers one plan, one price, at just $30 per line per month, even for a single line. It's designed for simplicity, with taxes, fees, and terms applying, and unlimited data restricted to on-device smartphone usage.
Luther Burton suffered a groin strain and is expected to miss the rest of training camp but should be healthy around the start of the season. His fantasy value may drop slightly, around half a round, but he could still be drafted in the fourth or fifth round depending on his recovery.
The hosts recommend drafting as close to the start of the season as possible, ideally on the Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday before the first games. This minimizes the risk of injuries during training camp affecting your draft picks.
The Bears' defense has been weakened by injuries, potentially leading to more passing volume for the offense. This could benefit receivers like Luther Burton and Colson Loveland, but Loveland's draft price may already be near his ceiling, making him a riskier pick.
The Lions' offensive line has been hit by injuries, including center Cade Mays, which could lower Gibbs' ceiling in terms of touchdowns and overall output. However, Gibbs is still expected to receive a heavy workload, though his backup situation is thin.
Laramie Tunsil's triceps injury could impact the offensive line, but Jayden Daniels' mobility may help mitigate the loss. His fantasy ranking might drop slightly, possibly below quarterbacks like Burrow or Herbert, but he remains in the same tier.
