(audience cheering) - Hi guys, we won't have another episode before the Dancing with the Stars premiere. - Woo! - Yeah, so remember to vote, please. My code's gonna be Connor W. CEO and an ORW. To two-- - OR. - That's OR, there's two corners. If you feel like voting for me, it's CEO and an ORW. - Don't give them an option. - Please vote for me, Connor W. To two, one, five, two, three. CEO and an ORW. To two, one, five, two, three, please. Thank you. (upbeat music) - Hi, Dancing Queen. (laughs) Each episode I'm gonna start with a new greeting. Today is Dancing Queen. I have next week's, and I'll keep thinking until, until you get that mirror ball. - Yeah, knock on wood. Knock on this laminate wood right here. Did you have that ready to lock them up? - Dancing Queen, yes. - Oh, you were eager. - I was ready for hiding. - You were like-- - When you train a dog not to eat its food until you say, "Okay, go." - Yeah. - That was what you were like. - I was ready. - Like when you throw the ball and it's waiting to fetch, but it can't go until it's said. - Yeah. - We said, we said start recording. We said, "Hi, Dancing Queen." Like, right up again. (laughs) Well, hello, Chica. - How are you feeling? - I'm good. - It's also your birthday episode, kind of. - Oh, yeah, it's my birthday episode. Is he, has such a good read on people's spirits? - Yeah. - You know, I don't want to blow this one up. - Right. - This girl-- - She did the perfect understated-- - It's an understated birthday. - She knows. - If you're listening on audio, we're taking it very chill this year. In fact, I want to go into how chill I'm taking it in a second. Actually, no, I'm going to start with how chill I've taken it, and then I want to look at what is he, because I couldn't help but notice, is he put together a Conner's Dancing with a Star Survival Kit, which I'm going to have to go through? - You want to go through it now? - Yeah, I'll go through it now. - Oh, this is so sweet. - Yeah. - Thank you. - She's incredible. - Oh, a couple makeup removers, which is great because they are putting in a lot of-- - Are you in full glam, like, in rehearsals? - No. - What are you doing full glam for so far? - Like, the big camera stuff. Like the promo shoot we did, but nothing else so far. - Okay. - Oh, and Good Morning, Marika, we did. - You did full glam. - Which is so reasonous, you still like-- You have to take your makeup off. - Yeah, what is your full glam made up of? - They put something all over my face. I don't know what it was. - Is it like a tinted cream of sorts? - I don't know. I don't know. - You're getting any blush? - I don't know. - Okay. - I don't think I'm getting blush. - You might be getting blush. - I don't know, I'm pretty flustered all the time. I feel like I have a natural blush to my face. - But if you're getting like a base, like a skin tinted base, then your flush would be hidden by that, maybe, and you might be getting new flush on top. - Maybe I'm getting blush. - I mean, you might be getting blushed. - So, has it got me a bunch of travel-sized makeup removers, which I'm gonna need for that? Oh, a bunch of men's. Which is good, 'cause you can't chew gum when you have the mic on, I get stopped. Oh, this is good too. BTS, which is a good call out. - I'm kind of flop-city USA in terms of content. I'm putting out, I'm doing, I'm having a lot of fun with doing sounds and dances. - And I think that's great. - But if anyone wants to see like a, 'cause you said, you said we could talk about like stuff, we'll talk about some stuff today, like, what we do. I don't know. - What do you mean I said we could talk about some stuff? - Like, you were like, I want, I have dancing stuff. - I said, yeah, don't be afraid to talk about, D-W-T-S. - Yeah, look. - 'Cause that's all we wanna hear about. - Yeah, well, you know what, I woke up and tried to film like a day in my life. And I'm like, oh wait, I don't do anything until I go. And then I just come back and I-- - Film a day in your life. - Okay, I'll film a very-- - What are you talking about? - Ernest Daniel. - People are on their knees for a day in their life. - Ew. - Siri, I'm serious. What's that? - Self-tan eraser. - Oh my God, that's brilliant. - So this takes off the self-tan? - What? - You could've used that a few years ago. - The self-tan, it's weird that you get darker with the self-tanner, like the more you put on. I was thinking like, it would just make it last longer. - No, 'cause it's like, have you seen that episode of "Friends Where a Ross Gets Two Tos"? - Yeah. - Yeah. He was an eight. - Well, that was a spray tan, right? - Yeah. - Yeah. What I did was like a self-tanner. It was out of your makeup bag. - I'll pay the ice, yeah. - And I did it. And then I did it again on top of what I did. 'Cause I liked it so much, which, that's just like, so my MO is still, like, just keep going when things are looking good to overdo it. - Totally. - Stop all your head. And then what had happened was I would, I don't think I was, I think I was drinking something and I realized how much I was drooling 'cause I looked like someone's puppet. - Yeah. - 'Cause I was drooling out of both sides and so I looked like I had marks going down, both corners of my mouth, down past my chin, and it washed away. - You looked at the marionettes. It was part of the great seed. It gave me that marionette look. - You had that marionette-like style. (laughing) - That did. Oh, I could have used this bondized sands, self-tanneraser back then. They paid paradise, they put up a parking lot. Oh, and bless your heart, relax and relieve. Epsom salt for my back. - That's so good. - Oh, and band aids. What's cool is that, like, I have already blood so much through, I've actually thrown away, probably a dozen pairs of socks. I'm bleeding so much out of my feet that I have to throw away my socks, but I have calluses now. - That's good. - Yeah, but I'm sure that they'll come back. Oh, thank you, is he? That's so sweet, thank you. - I have a present cooking for you, but it's something that will take some time. - Oh, is he, and you know, I don't like-- - What does that say? - Very much. - Since when do you not like cake very much? - When have I eaten cake? - Every single time we've gotten it, yeah, I've definitely had slice. - Why do you think Ezi got me? - Well, you've definitely had pieces of sushi cakes when Ezi's gotten-- - I'm thinking maybe-- - No, you've had slices. - I maybe have had, I maybe-- - You've had little ones. - I've not had, I take a fork to the actual physical cake so the cake might want to-- - Yeah, so what part of that's gonna make me think he doesn't like cake, if you're drinking a fork to the cake? - I'm not taking a big slice of cake. A slice of cake. - You eat the cake. - I take a moan and you moan. - I don't moan when I eat the cake. - You definitely have liked the cake in the past. - I say mm. - Okay, well part of you eating, taking a fork to the cake and going mm, it's gonna make me think he doesn't like cake. - Shut up, I like don't want a big slice of cake. - That's fine. It's just, I don't think you can say you don't like cake. It's not your preference. - I know, I prefer cupcakes. - That's fine. - Sorry, I should say-- - Yeah, no worries. - Oh, so you hate waffles? It just has to make sense to me. - This is just a dream come true. - I know that. - I love cupcakes. Oh, thank you, Susie Cakes, thank you, Izzy. - I'm gonna have to eat one of those if you don't mind later. - No, please. - Thanks. - I'm on a very, very seafood diet. I seafood, I eat it. - Nice. You've been eating so healthy. - I, Brooke, the way I've put on weight needs to be studied. - Well, you're probably building so much muscle. - No, it's in my face. - No, it's not. - Yeah, you've, like, I do think you have dysmorphia. - What's going on with my facial and body? - Again, how come every time I start-- Oh my god, I'm don't even have a button there. - I didn't notice. - I gotta keep that closed a little bit with you. - How are you feeling about this birthday? - Well, hang on really quick, I wanna start. If you're a new listener, which I couldn't help when I was there are a few new listeners to the podcast in the past week, we have a very special code. Also, if you're not a new listener and you want a little, we want a little bite, we have VIA Izzy. This is a Kisher Brain Izzy, a free month of bonus episodes on the site. It's TMGStudio's.tv/brookincarner. Make about it, yes? Slash being same, maybe. You can find it if you go to TMGStudio's.tv. Use code DWTS to get a free month of bonus. - Wow. - That's cool. I don't think we ever, we had ever done that. - DWTS. - Yeah. - One week, is it next Tuesday or Wednesday that you're on? - Tuesday. - Less than one week until you hit the stage. - When is it? - Until you weasel your way into the hearts of America. - My whole for you page is Conorwood. - I've typed a Dylan Ephraim on the phone yesterday. - What did you guys talk about? - He's so sweet. He's like. - He's the great. - POV nonchalant final boss. - Like. - He's from, not even hello. I don't even know when he answers the phone. Even when he calls me, there's no like. Hey, he's like, what did he say? He's opening a line. - Just starting. - It was quite, it was like, dude, you are killing it. Just like, he called me like an agent would call. - He's the greatest guy. - He's the greatest. I'm gonna go see him at some point. But yeah, it's very scary and you're gonna be there on the floor. - Yes. - Tonight we're gonna get on the floor. - I think I'm gonna like, I'm really scared and like this is not gonna happen. - Don't, don't even, please, please don't even say whatever you, - No, it's not, oh, it's not like, I would well something bad into existence. - Well, you're in my, you're in my, - I'm scared. - You're not gonna like, no, no, no, it's not bad. But like God forbid you don't get a 10 from each judge. Like I'm scared of my, I will like, not be able to like,
holding my, like, exploatives on camera. (laughing) I feel like, like, fucking. (laughing) - They go corners, friends and family with the, - I can be cursing out everyone. - My dad's holding you back. - Yeah, no, it'll be, I'll be good. - That's gonna be so funny. Oh, you're gonna be down on the flow. - Yeah, I'm really excited. - That's gonna be so fun. Well, in terms of the ratings, I guess like a lot of them are based on like, technicalities and-- - I'll be fine with it, nine. - I'll be fine with some nine. - I'll take a nine. I'll take a nine. - You've been in eight, whatever, whatever. I don't want to assume below eights. (laughing) - They have to do it. - No, I'm kidding. You can get whatever you want. It's just, you deserve. You deserve the best. - That's very kind. They take-- - I know how hard you've been working. - They, I know. They take skill, I hope they take skill level into account. I don't know, 'cause like, I'm like passed. - I, like, yes. - Like, I hope it's on like, whatever scale that is. - Like professional lancer should be curved. - Yeah, I think there, I think there should be like-- - There should be a curve. - There should be a curve of the scale. But-- - I do think it's like the whole package. Like, when Clay cannot condition for American Idol, like, even though he had the vocals in his pocket, Simon was like, I don't know if you have what it takes to be American Idol. Like, I don't know if you have the star power. So it really is like, more. But I mean, he proved that he could go above and beyond, of course, but like, it is about more than just your ability to dance. - Agreed. That being said, I'm, what we're locking in now, and what we've been locking in is like, all of the little things, because Riley will be like, Bruno really looks at like, your toes. - Whoa. - So like-- - Bruno's gonna love you. - You know I hung out with Bruno the other day. - No, I didn't do that. - We? - Is that allowed? It feels like a conflict of interest. - I wasn't like, I didn't like, hit him up, and I went out to dinner with Bruno. - Oh, okay, it wasn't like, one-on-one like. - No, we had like a big, like, against the world. - It was like a happy hour with like, everybody. - Before GMA, and we all like, Matt and Hung out, and I, Matt Bruno, and then we were heading out, and we were on the same shuttle back to the hotel. - It's crazy that you're doing like, oh, Bruno. - Bruno. - It's the first name. - Oh, he's so funny. - Yeah. - He's it. - I think he likes me, but I think he's just really nice, too. So I wouldn't know. But I think he'll like the work I'm putting into both my hips and my toe and my hands, the pointing of my hands, and as well as the tongue, the teeth, the tip of the- - I hear you're working on your smile. - Yeah, how did you know that? - Oh, you told me. - Okay, that's a dead giveaway. - Yeah. - Yeah. But also the- - That's the hardest part. - Yeah, there's like some smiling parts, and then there's some stuff where you're like, this is not necessarily a smile for this part. You have to kind of lie. - Like sexy? - Kind of like. - Yeah. - Right. - You like that? - Right. - Your face has to match the dance. - You like when I dance for you? - Oh, I don't like that. - Yeah, I'll reel it in a little bit from there. Do you like when I dance for you? - Hi, do you like when I dance for you? (laughs) Hi, question. - Hi. Like when I dance for you? Freak? Yeah, but with the hips and stuff, you do need to deliver a message in that way. That's digestible for the masses. But it's good, it's going really well. Yeah, when this comes out, it will be technically four days, and then the fifth day, well, let's see. So this will come out Thursday. So I'll have Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, four days of practice left. But like some of those days are getting set up and like not actual like three hour practices. But we were practicing last time earlier. It's like, I don't want to overdo the practice. We are there, so I don't want to like overdo it. Me, I'm like, I need to be doing this dance. - It's kind of like writing, I think, where it's like, you get to a point, where it's like, you have to stop. 'Cause like, it's the best it's going to be. And like, the more you work at it, like, you don't want to get in your head about it. - Yeah, we did this fun thing where we did show and tell. - Yeah. - Where we. - Right, are you guys even like group like bonding activity? - Yeah, 'cause you don't know who you're gonna be in the studio with at the same time. But Allen was there with his partner, G, the chef. And then Jackson, Olsen, and yeah. And his partner, Emma, we're there. And so us three did a show and tell. We did our dances for each other. It was fun. But it does make you be like. - You decide that's the calm. - Well, like, you're not supposed to do that. Riley keeps being like, stay in your land. There's nothing we can do about their dances or whatever. But, oh, I'm like, everyone's so good. Like, what the hell are we doing? Why are we fighting? - Wow. - We should be out. - We should all be performing this. You know how, wait, I like, I did watch Dancing with the Stars last season, but like, not enough to know the answer to this. You know how in American Idol, they would do like, when they got to the top 12, they would do like a group performance at the beginning. Do you guys ever do like a group dance? - I don't think outside of the trio. I don't think there's any. And then like, dedication. - What's the trio? Like, you bring in a third? - I think you bring in a third, yeah. Wait, I could be getting this wrong. I'm getting everything mixed and jumbled. - Like a third, like, dancer? - I could be wrong, can we? - Like a third. (coughing) - Wow. - Yeah, well, I'm not there yet. And so I'm trying not to think about too far ahead in case I start. Yeah, so trio dance is on to answer the start, competing celebrity in their professional partner, performing alongside an extra pro, to remember our past celebrity champion. Yeah. - Wow. - Past celebrity champion. I know who you could do. - I'll tell you later. (laughing) You want me to bring Rob out? - Or when? - Yeah. - No, I wasn't even thinking of Rob. - Guys, I have to be so bad and the timer stopped. I don't know why suddenly and all that ones, it feels like I'm actually gonna squirt. - Okay, go. - And speaking of squirt, I'm coming right back with a story to tell you. - Okay, cool. - All right, hang on. I feel like everyone I meet lately is trying to be smarter with money. Myself included, cash back here, coupons and points there. But why does it take so much effort? We all just want to make our money work a little harder. - I totally agree, Connor. I love a good deal. But if I actually have to hunt for one or go out of my way to activate a coupon, I've already checked out. - Yeah, well, Brooke, I think I found one you'll actually like. Prime for young adults. It's actually pretty genius. It's a prime membership for 18 to 24 year olds that actually makes prime feel like it's built for you. - All right, you've got my attention, Connor. But what's the catch? - What if I told you there isn't one? - I'm talking about 5% cash back on eligible purchases and categories of beauty, apparel, electronics, PCs, and health and personal care. - If you're telling me this whole time, I could have been getting rewarded for the purchases I already make. And with no catch? - Exactly. You're not changing your shopping habits. You just get rewarded for them. And the best part, the cash back is automatic. No coupons, no activation, no extra steps. - Now that's the kind of reward I can get behind. No extra work, just getting rewarded for the life I'm already living. - We're talking about prime for young adults, 5% cash back, 100% made for you. - I'm talking about that. If you're up to 18 and 24, check out prime for young adults and start earning cash back on the purchases, you're already making. Prime for young adults is only available for 18 to 24 year olds to terms apply. - Hi guys, we wanna take a quick break to the sponsor of today's episode. Top chips, and notice there's no pop chips around today. It's 'cause they ate all of them. - Yum. - They're very good. - We kind of were eating them just like as a, during the last time we were filming and then as a joke, I finished the whole bag. - It was a funny joke. - It was a complete joke. - Yeah. - Me and the sea salt ones were my favorite. They're so good and they go down. It's very easy, you guys. - You know why I think? 'Cause they're made with avocado oil. They're super crunchy, bold flavors, and pop chips are pop potato chips. So you don't get greasy fingers, which is important because I'm not touching my phone with sand cans and I'm obviously gonna be on my phone. - You, it is completely unlike you to touch your phone with sand cans. That's destiny, okay? - Exactly. - Never fried, always real, period. Hi guys, I wanna take a quick break to think of sponsor of today's episode. Warby Parker, buying glasses used to feel more complicated than it needed to be. I wouldn't know, I just started buying glasses, so all I know is Warby Parker, which is like, you know, check my privilege, right? But every time I started looking for new frames, once I started shopping, I'd end up with 20 tabs out and trying to compare prices, styles, and reviews. And somehow I'd still have no idea what I was gonna look at on my face. You know, that's why I become such a huge fan of Warby Parker, they make the whole process way easier. - One of my favorite features of Warby Parker is their virtual try-on. You can use your phone to see how different frames look on your face in real time before you buy them. It sounds simple, but it's one of those things that completely changes the experience. - You guys know I love wearing my Warby Parker's on the pod and today they're at home because I couldn't find them on my way out. But my style, the frames I have, they feel modern, they're comfortable. I can sit them on my face, I forget I have them on, so I can wear them all day and they genuinely look and they feel premium. I've gotten a bunch of compliments on them too. Someone brought up, and I wanna look into this, the round glasses theory. And that's just what people have been saying. I don't know if it's a good or bad, so I shouldn't have even thrown that in here, but what really surprised me about my glasses is the quality for the price. Warby Parker's prescription glasses started just 95 bucks, so you don't have to choose between looking good and saying in budget. - And they're not just a glasses company. They also offer contacts, online eye exams, and sunglasses, so pretty much everything you need for happier eyes is all in one place. Plus, if you're someone who likes seeing things and seeing things in person, they have more than 300 retail stores across the US.
right now by one pair of glasses and get 20% off any additional pairs at warbyparker.com/bnc. That's 20% off any additional pairs when you purchase one pair at WARBY parker.com/bnc. Okay, well should we finish birthday or should we go to my squirting story? We can come back. Oh, I guess let's finish. Let's wrap up birthday. Have me circle back. Are we done with dancing? We can circle back. Well, what do you want to do if any questions about it? I mean, like tons. It is weird. I felt weird because in all fairness and truthness, to be fair, we did record that episode of the answering announcement a week before I had announced it. I thought you were being-- you were being-- I think we're okay now. I like Miss Redhouse serious, though. Okay, yeah. I mean it. Yeah. You kept your lips tight. It was so good. I was so good until I accidentally leaked it when I run FlipFuck my Hobanichi. Broke posted a picture of her-- what was it? Like a to-do list on Snapchat? I might have been on Instagram because I've been obsessed with stickers recently, so I was posting pictures of all the stickers that I put in my Hobanichi. And in the page behind it, so like there was like a little bit of bleed through that I like truly didn't even see, and like you really couldn't see unless you were like zooming in looking with a microscope. It said DWTS backwards. And like somebody flip-fucked it. Yeah, Brook text me was like, "I'm so sorry." And by flip-fuck, I mean like inverted the image. Yeah. And it said like, "Oh, R-D-W-T-S," like probably Connor dancing with the stars, because we have like an event that I'm going to with you tomorrow, which I'm very excited about, but it was in my hope, of course, and somebody looked through. And I was literally convincing, I had had a gummy when that had been blasted out. And Connor, like in his defense and honor was really like being really good and scared about it being leaked. Like I posted a picture of my moldy ass chomp and he was like, "You need to delete that because people are going to connect the dots that we recorded this, but we could go so I'd delete my moldy chomp," all that. He was being like really intense. I'm saying you were being really intense. I want to talk about the interesting story too. He's being really intentional. Completely made me delete my moldy chomp. Responding to the picture of my moldy chomp, delete. This is a writer, this is a writer. I ignore it, text me, please delete. He's so good with our words. He's being very dedicated. And he was obviously feeling very convicted in his ways. And it was so he should be so full of pride that he was this way. You're fucking insane. That's what she's trying to say. I was like, "Broke, please delete it." Because I just knew that it was funny and we were going to clip it. And then they're like, "Wait, that was last week." But yeah, it was like, "Broke, can you delete it?" And then I responded, I said, "I don't think dancing with the stars is going to be watching my story." And then connecting it to the bonus from I was like, "Hey, I deleted it." No, but I was like, "Hey, I deleted it." I responded, "Broke, I get it, but can you please just delete it?" And she goes, "Okay." And I'm like, did you really need the moldy chomp? Yes. That bad on your story at the specific time. I'm obsessed with posting on my Instagram story, right? I know. So yes. But like, the episode was coming out in the next week, like, that. It was bonus. That's why it's like not. We clipped it. Not a lot of people have asked that. So I was putting it on main floor. I was just laughing at like, we were genuinely getting it. We were genuinely butting heads. Because she needed to post the moldy beef jerky on her story. Like, right then, and I was like, "Can you delete it?" And she was like, "Why? I don't really skip it." I was like, "Please, take it down." Like, if it would have been like genuinely like anything else, but it was like, it is a moldy, like, old piece of beef jerky. Like, why do you need this on your story? It tells a story. It's all the beautiful stories. People connect it to it, by the way. Ever before responding, it was like a dumb situation. Like, this happened to me. Like, it helped people feel more certain. Well, there was one young woman that was like, that's so clearly fat separation. I was like, "By the way, I don't think it was." No, I looked at it up close. It was pretty moldy. I know what mold was like. Yeah, I was pretty damn happy. And I've seen fat separated. And I feel bad because Choms, it's like, "Let me make this right." And it's like, "I will still eat Choms." No, I'm gonna eat one in my car on the way home from here. I'm not holding it against Chomping anyway. Like, food gets moldy, it's fine. It just is what it is. Yeah. And it wasn't fat separation. I see fat separation every day when I look in the mirror. Well, why were we talking about that on my Instagram story? Oh, because you were being really intentional. So I was so scared that you were going to be so mad at me and I had had a gummy. And so I texted you and I had this whole thing like planned out. Like, "Hey, this happened. Like, I'm so, so sorry." But I think it's okay because I was invited to this event separate from you. So it's not like, "I'm leaking that you're on it." Like, I was just, I'm going like, as an invitee, like separate from you. And he was like, "You were like, it was totally fine. No worries." So that was really. That's an insane. And everyone else, I was so serious about it because everyone else kind of leaked themselves because they were antsy. But I was like, "I'm going to let this slide because I already feel very lucky to be a part of this as like a wild card pick. And like, I know that there is going to be some pushback about me being included in this group." And there wasn't. I wasn't met with that much. Or I've chosen to not watch things where I can clearly see the person on the other end of the line has an opinion about. Everything that I've been getting on my Connor Wood FIP is like people are so excited about you and for you. And the people that didn't know you before are already obsessed with you. Which by the way, like, I bet that feels really good because I know it feels really good to me when people are like, "I didn't know this girl at all before." But like, this is, I like this book. Those mean, like, more or more to me. You know, when it's like, "Wow, I didn't know this guy at all." But like, I really like him. "Yeah, yes, that is good." Like, "Oh, like, all they've seen is the press line." "Get ready to see me shake my head." It's really nice to know that you still have stuff going for you. And those people, I want them to know I'm taking their show very seriously. And it's not just like family, you know? Yeah, that's true. So, who is this little Tom Holland looking cute, comedian man that everyone's calling Papa? So, wait, what is this? I'm scared. Is this just a screenshot of this? Is there more to it? No, that's like the meanest people have been. Okay, so, like, I don't. It's all positive. I've chosen to avoid the like, wait until you meet Brooke 2000 likes. Oh, to be experiencing. Let me know those replies. Sure, they're great. My daughter's exactly. That's big dog. Literally, she's mad. She's mad. She like, "Is he trying to, is he trying to scroll past it?" Okay, how come? Yeah, it's just so good. And then, when I read a couple of good comments, I stop and then I say, "Cool, it seems like they're all positive." But what we just did was scroll until we find a negative one, and then now there's like the stark cloud over this specific one. No, scientifically, it's crazy how you could read 20 positives in one negative and the weight of the negative is more than the 28 positives. Correct. So sick. Shoot, I have the funniest thing. Oh, what I was going to say two things. One, the scary part that you get to is like the posts, they're analyzing my micro expressions now. Which is like, he clearly blah, blah, blah. Like, the way he's, I'm like, "All right, we're, now we. " Are like fans? No, like. Or people like. Yeah, I just know how this goes. You know, like, you know on the internet, when people really like someone and then all of a sudden, it just like, it just switches one day. I hope that doesn't change. And if it does, you just don't look. It's hard not to look because of my screen time. Sure. My other thing, too, is Papa. Now, I want to circle back to the origin of Papa, because I was not the original Papa. Papa originated in me commenting on other people's posts. I was like, "Oh, this is so Papa." Like, that's not even remotely where Papa came from. No, well, I was saying Papa and other, as like a term of endearment to my friends, because it came from my friend group in San Francisco. The Papa started with Papa and Lagoon. I know. But I was using Papa, but like after Papa and Lagoon, I started calling other people Papa. And then people started commenting, succing on like a picture of Milo. I'd be like Papa vibes. And then it would circle back. But like, Papa and Lagoon was the origin of us saying it on the podcast. But as a term of endearment, because nobody calls you Lagoon. I would say some people do, but it's not caught on like Papa. So one young woman was like, "If you're looking for the origin of Papa, like I encourage you not to even go watch it, because you'll leave more confused." Yeah. That's a good point. Can we play Papa, Lagoon? As like a-- Yeah, but this is why people are calling Conor Papa. As a refresher, because I do feel like it's one of those things that has been adopted. And-- You will leave more confused. No, at the scale that it's being used. Like, there are brands in my DMs. Hi, Papa, every brand. By the way, hey, Papa. Hey, Papa. Hey, Papa. I don't mind. This is a like random conversation we had in a bonus episode when we were probably like overtired. Yeah, I miss those days. I do too. Well, they're still here. Yeah, nothing's changed. Oh, I don't think this is it. Because this is with Kat. It's that--
But I don't care for the clips going viral that are of me looking a little bit different than I do now. We have to do, I'm going to send it to you. I have it. I can find it. I don't care for any of the pre-invisal line clips. Pre-invisal line? Pre-invisal line? You can tell when I started smoking weed. You found it? Legumes. Legumes? Legumes. These legumes have a certain joy of you. It's called Baby Beans. You want me to just ask you with this one? Yes, I've got a heartbeans. You so do. I love beans. And you know I don't like beans. We look young. Baked beans are okay. Baked beans are literally like beans from the legume and then all I like you. Baby, baby. Beans should be the baby of the baby legume. Baby, baby. Wait, be cut. Those are nothing before this. You will leave more confused. Bonjour, mama. Como se va? I'm in touch. I want it. I want it. Cheers. Baby, what? What? Baby, you're a bit in trouble. Baby, baby, baby. What? Baby, baby. What? Baby, baby. What? Baby, baby. What? Baby, baby. Baby, baby. Whoa, I just got scared that this was a dream. Something about you doing what you just did. Baby, baby. Baby, baby. Baby, baby. Baby, baby. Baby, baby. Baby, baby. Baby, baby. Baby, baby. - You're like you. - These legumes have a certain joy to have you. - Ciao, legume. (laughs) You have any beans for me? - Oh, I feel like you. - Oh, it's your legume. - It looks pretty good in the mess. - Me? - We did. - Ciao, papa. - Ciao, legume. - Jay, um, legume. - You have any beans for papa legume? - Oh. - Jay, you didn't know what you were doing with that. - Papa. - Let, let papa, like you're being like you. - Yeah, see, like that doesn't need to be played on our podcast. (laughs) - No, papa is not like a father figure. - Papa is just like, that's his name, papa. - Forgive me. - Oh. - Oh. - I almost regret playing that on the scale that we just did. - It will go over well with the dancing of the stars' community. - An America. - Surely. - It will touch the beans of America. (laughs) - By the way, I keep saying my mirror ball slipped out. Just for future reference. - Papa touching the beans of America. - Taja Papa. - Taja. (laughs) - Taja Papa. - Taja Papa. - Taja Papa. - Taja Papa, the beans of America with that dance. - The beans and the mirror balls. (laughs) - Ciao. - No, we can't. - Ciao mama. - It's like, do you have a message for papa? Ooh, papa's starting to sweat off of his back, mama. - Have you known it has an, - There's like too much pressure for me, I can't. - Oh, I know that things are kind of kind of stick around. - Or it's just like, I don't, I'm like too scared to bring it back, 'cause it's like so weighted. - The staying powder. - I like, I don't, it's like writing a sequel. - Sure. - It's like, let's leave it. - Let's leave it. It's like, somethings don't need a sequel. - Here's what I'll say. I want to say, well, okay, I just want to move forward. I want to tell you the story so I can be done with the story, 'cause it's almost poop on to your level. Happen yesterday. - What happened? - What's weird is every time I'm in this specific area of Santa Monica, something goes down. So yesterday, I'm out, I go on a run on the beach. I come back, I change, I walk over to Earth Cafe, and I'm trying to get more into cherry tomatoes. I usually would order a salad without cherry tomatoes, because I think it's ridiculous it's like, I'm supposed to put this thing in my mouth. - Aligned 5,000%. - It's just not a realistic ask for someone like me, especially if I'm just dipping my tone to cherry tomatoes, to have this essentially like. - Look at the gooseies that just gave me. You'll notice my legs are also pretty hairy, but if you can look past that at the goose bumps, at the thought of popping a cherry tomato in my mouth and it's squirting in there, I don't like it. - And I'm glad that you brought up the squirt factor. The squirt factor. Essentially, you're putting, you're giving me a loaded gun. You're in on my sound. It is in my mouth. I've gone to my mouth. - Nice. - And so I'm like, they gave me some bread. I'm trying to cut back on carbs, but I'm not going to the studio. - You need carbs. - No carbs for energy, but not carbs. So I'm trying to do complex carbs before Tyler Cameron told me this. (laughing) Okay, so like this is. - So it is true. - This is scripture. - This is science. - So you do complex carbs pre, and then after you do vegetables and protein. - I got that. So I am like, you know what, I'm an adult. I got this bread. I'm gonna put some butter on it. I'm gonna put the cherry tomato. That's how I eat the cherry tomato. So I put the cherry tomato on like a little slice of bread here. And I bite, and I take half the cherry tomato, 'cause it was a big one. And I bite down. Cherry, so I'm like, I'm against a wall on this side, on my left side. On my right side is patrons of the restaurant. I'm sitting, I bite into it, squirts. Squirted onto the patrons. - Back of a guy's neck. To my right. And like I saw it squirt, but I didn't see in what direction. Luckily, he hit the deck as if there was an active shooter. - God. - He goes, "Oh!" Like loud. "Oh!" And I look over a mouth, there's like this cherry tomato all over leaking out of my face like this. And she's like, I was going like this like, "What, what, what, what, what could I do?" I'm leaking. There's stuff coming out of both sides of my mouth. Like the time that I had farted in class and said who did that. - Pretty much exactly, 'cause I wasn't about to be like, my bad, I squirted on your neck. - Yeah. - And I'm going, and like it's so, he turned to me. And like, I'm like, what could, like maybe that was a bird, you know, I looked on my left. It had squirted on the wall next to me as well. So like it was very clear that it came from my plate. And when he turns and looks at me, I look at him and I go, he's my old neighbor. And I was like, he did not remember me. And I was like, we were, and he's like, getting the cherry tomato off the back of his neck. - He will be fine. - Wiping it. And I was like, we live, I used to live on Franklin. And he was like, and I was like, did you use, and he was like, I lived, yeah, I did. But he was on a date. And so I just like kind of let it play off. But I looked like an insane person. I squirt all over the back of his neck and then I start up a conversation like it was like a, it was literally like a, like a. - What else could you've done? - Said sorry. - Well, you had already like, - You know the nature of a cherry tomato, like that's. - You'd already kind of denied. - It's an unpredictable nature. It's like, you really can't go into, you can't go into the realm of cherry tomatoes and expect to have a grip on the reins right away. I don't know why I would do that in a public place. - What's the difference between a cherry tomato and a grape tomato? - I didn't, I've never heard of a grape tomato. - Seriously? - I don't think so. - Are you busy? - Cherry tomatoes are round, juicy, and then scandal, grape tomatoes are oblong, meteor, and firmer with less liquid. Okay, so maybe I should have opted for a grape tomato. - Part of me thinks that you did. - No, it was one of those big oblong. Oh, I think you. - Oh my gosh, it was a grape tomato. Grape tomatoes are actually what they've typically put in the salads, I think. - Yeah, it was meteor, but it was all over the guy's neck. He had a seed actually on his neck. That's how much squirted, like that's how much force. - I think that was probably a good tomato to those that enjoy those types of tomatoes. - It was clouded by the rest of the experience. I was pretty horrified, but my new mental state is like, I'm on an SSRI, I'm so calm, I think because fat tired I am. - Are you on an SSRI? - No. - I said, it's probably of that elk. Like, I'm just kind of like, oh my gosh. Surely you understand that was the cherry tomato that squirted on you, nothing that I did intentionally. - Yeah. - But that was kind of, that was fun. I don't know. It wasn't my worst Tuesday. - It sounds like a good time. - I'll take it. - Hey guys, we want to take a break to thank a sponsor of today's episode, Skims. It sounds like you're on your way to Don's, but you don't quite have Don's yet. No, it's old injuries from like when I played soccer in high school. Yeah, and then some inflammation. Yeah, it's stuff that like my knee, I hurt my knee, and then I was like, well, I don't need to get it fixed. I'm going to college. I never use my hip flexor again. And then what you don't see, if you're in, if you're in your early 20s, or if you're even younger than that, somehow listen to this podcast, if this podcast came across your desk and you have an injury or something that you're like whatever, like I'll never use my hip flexor again, please. Your life's not over. You might be on dancing with the stars in six years. Yeah. Take care of your injury, ice your knee, stretch. Oh, I can't emphasize that. Like you'll still need your body and your 30s. Life is not over. Yeah. Because what happens when you get that dream job in the city, and you're sitting there the whole time and you're only escape is your co-ed kickball team. And guess what? You hurt yourself now. You don't ice it. You don't take care of it. Guess who's sitting out the first six games because you strain your hip flexor. And you've already paid the $175 and you have a stupid dessert and you have to go sit there and watch your team win or lose, not fun. Have some foresight. Well said. Very well said. I wonder if you're saying crazy. Yes. Um, the first class nipples out. The first class of preschoolers that I taught once I graduated college. Oh, I don't want to hear this. It's pretty bad. If you had to guess what grade they're starting without like doing the math or anything, what would you say? Seven grade. Sixth. Yeah. That's not cool. Twelve years old. They were three when I met them. They turned four throughout the year. Naturally. As as any three-year-old would. And now how old are you when you're going in the sixth grade? Well, that's horrible. That's like really, really bad. Okay. I have two things. And they probably even they don't know who I am. No, not only do they not know if you were to remind them they would not give us shit. No. Well, maybe they would because of you. No, preschools unfortunately like too young to remember. No, I'm saying they might not care, but those that level kid to be like my that's my preschool teacher. And she's like, she has a podcast. I don't know if they would care. I think they would. I don't know about that age anymore because Cat was showing us the other day when we went down. We went down to see the babies. Cat was saying that she went to a wedding. She was sitting there. And it was her. And then there was like this high school girl that someone of her family like her cousin or something. And all the little young kids that 11-year-old 12-year-olds were like flocking to this 18-year-old high school girl. It was like so cool to them. And she goes that was the first time I felt that like because she's like I feel like the cool older girl that like all the young kids like flocking. And she goes, oh, I'm just like a I'm just like an adult to them. I'm just a woman. A woman to them. Oh, that's. Yeah, that it's definitely you know we're getting older like because like we could be the parents now. Don't say that to me. We could. Which is what's hard. Yeah. I will say like something about being 30. Like when I was in my 20s, I like I think I or like anytime like high school and college and 20s like your focus on like growing up and being a quote unquote adult, you know. And now I like want to collect as many stickers as I possibly can. Like there's part of me that's now like giving up on the whole like I need to be an adult thing because like that was what my 20s was about. And now I'm like really connecting with my inner child in a way that's very liberating. I can't stop ordering stickers. All kinds of stickers, animals, stamps, jewels. Those aren't even stickers. No, like stickers of stamps. Stickers of stamps. It's like stamp like stickers. Jules? Like little like gems. Do you have a stapler that I could staple my shirt? Oh, I'm going to do this. Well, that's it. Whatever it's I don't even want to like I don't want to agree if you because I wanted to be like your thing. But I did watch cartoons the other day. And I was like, oh, like I can I can relax that like I was watching a venture time feeling amazing. Yeah, no, I get it. And I'm there with you. Yeah. It's just really weird that like in my adult life, I'm dancing and I'm watching cartoons. You know, you can do that if you want. That's what your 30s are. I posted on my snapchat story and I was like, on my way to dance. On my way to dance, practice. And someone said me in fifth grade. Yeah, exactly. Thank you. Before when I was in my 20s, I would have been like, that's an insult. Now, thank you for saying that. No, I'm very blessed that my current full-time job is dancing and talking. Yeah. And mine is playing with my stickers. Oh my God. I have God to take you to sticker planet in the grove. Now, I would love to. I didn't know that they had their stuff. They didn't know they had a brick and mortar. They have a brick and mortar in the grove in the farmer's market. They're doing really well. It is. And like stickers are like this all this like stationary sticker like plan or stuff is in now. People are celebrating it as it should be celebrated. Sticker planet is constantly hustling and bustling. It's the size of this of our set, but smaller. Oh, it's in the farmer's market. It's in the farmer's market. I see. Yeah. Connor, for whatever reason, sticker planet is 48 degrees warmer than the outside temperature. Yeah. So is the, by the way, so is the hot sauce kiosk area. You can't help with faint in sticker planet, but it makes the experience like that much more intense. It's an intense. Get it and get in and get out. Get as much as you possibly can as quickly as you can. Oh, I have got to take you here. It's a. Oh, I'll go with you today. I have the day off by the way. It's too hot to go today. I think it's a hundred plus today. You want to go tomorrow? Oh, you know what? I can't you dance. But even on your break, we could go. Well, tomorrow is the event tomorrow is the event. Let's go Friday. Hey, fuck it. Let's go Friday. Well, you know what happens Friday. I don't know how much I can say whatever. I'm going to sit. So Friday, we go into the physical room that we'll be dancing in on premiere night and you can, so that's a public knowledge where that is. You can, I can say that it's right next to sticker planet. Yeah, but I have the whole day blocked off because I don't know when they'll need me and we do camera blocking. So like when we dance, we move this way. That's why I got to have my smile down and I'm going to do some wings in there. And they're going to block it for like we need a camera here for this part camera here for this part. They turn this way. One thing Riley's really good at before we keep moving is using the whole floor. So what you'll see is that we are moving and touching almost every corner. So if you're sitting there, it doesn't matter what side you're on, at some point, we're walking towards you, which is going to make me throw up on you. And then I'm going to Oh, wow, it's freaking amazing. But yeah, if I have a second, I would like to do that.
- Yeah, I can just literally, I can make that happen. - And then Friday's my birthday. Which is fun. - I make it for that. - So, I made a part of it last night. I've never made a part of it. I actually was very, very frustrating. - It was actually very earnest, your invitation, which surprised me. - Well, 'cause, do you know that I was about to cry when I was making it? 'Cause I couldn't figure out how to crop the picture. - I didn't know. - The title of my part of it was Connor's birthday. - I know it was very earnest. - Well, I didn't know how to do it. Like, I don't know, 'cause then I started looking at other. - I would have made it for you. - I would have done it. - I keep looking at other people's. And every time I click out to get inspiration on other people's, it would make me start over the thing. And so it was Connor, but like everyone else is like, mean mama's mama jammed 40 in. And I'm like, what are you? It's like Dylan's drunk ass 50, I almost said 15, but it's not, it wouldn't be Dylan's drunk ass 15. But it's like all these like very fun puns and mine was Connor's birthday. And then I was like, should I do a lot? And then I was like cringed that like, I'm sitting in my room like making like a pun for my birthday title. And then I was like, no. - I hate when you have to zoom out. - No, and then I was like, look at yourself. - When I look at other people's and then I'm like, how do I make a dumb nail? And then none of the dumb nails felt earnest enough for me to be like, I don't want to put like a bottle of like, let's go out, girl. Or like, you know, like, it's happy out. I don't know. So then I was like, I'm just gonna get a picture of me like having fun and I did it. And then, and then I was like, ugh. And then I was like, I'm inviting people that like, you know, I'm gonna invite the cast, the dancing, my co-workers now. And so I was like, I should probably explain like what this place is that we're going to. - You went about all of the cast members? - Yeah, you know that I only invited seven people on the part of full. - I do know that because I had a few people reach out to me asking why am I not invited to come over there. - Everyone's like, why? - Cat being one of them. - Yeah, Cat texted me and was like, why the hell wouldn't you? I go, Cat, I invited seven people. And then I wanted to cry 'cause I couldn't, I figured I had to invite other people. And so the seven people invited all of them except Matt King, Matt King said no. - He'll be out of town. He'll be at a bachelor party. - Matt King. - And Patricia are like, POV. You're, I'm invited to every wedding. - POV, Matt is truly like my, one of my closest friends. And the way that we have connected over stationery and stickers, and this new hobby has been so profound. And I get sad when he's out of town. - Oh, that's true. - Truly. - Well, he can't come. - I think that's so sad. - But yeah, everyone was like, it's just like, I can't believe part of full is the new standard for inviting people, the stuff. It's really, really crazy. I was like, this feels like, no offense, part of full. Like, little, impersonal, impersonal kind of tacky. And everyone's doing like, AI invites. You know, it's like a picture of them. It's like, they're, I just like, I'm just like, this is kind of, but I guess that is like the new-- - What else are you gonna do? - It's like the new Facebook, you know, Facebook invite. - Yeah, you have to have part of full. - It works, it works. I didn't mean like tacky, like we're just like, I can't believe there's not another option. They have cornered the market and it's still hard to use, you know? - Well, the other option used to be like an e-vite via email. - Okay. Well, that was really hard for me, part of full. I just like, don't really know what to say. And I didn't want to do a big thing. And it's funny that you read the, the e-vite. And you were like, it was very earnest. Like I was just trying to explain the venue to people who, it would be cool if the cast came. But I don't see a lot of them like, really endeared to come 'cause it's like, not like a fancy place. But we'll see. They might wanna have, they might-- - They might, hey, they might wanna let loose. - Who knows? And that's that. And then we'll brush right past my birthday and you'll write into the premiere. - Wow. - I'm so excited. - What a big week. - I know, I'm so excited for it to be over. Once I do my dance. - Then you have another one the next. - No, then I'm like, I'm not worried. I think this dance is pretty good. I think that we are so dialed and we're really in sync. And it's really fun. And then I feel like I can start having fun 'cause people are like, okay, he's taking it seriously. Like he nailed the dance. Now I can like, really like, 'cause now I'm still feeling like I need to prove to the people that don't know me. I feel like for the people that listen to the podcast, you're very aware that I'm working on it and I'm doing all the stuff and I'm blah, blah. But like people that don't know me, I will see. And then I'll hopefully win them over. I was gonna say something else. - Why? - Oh. I'm gonna be posting, I guess when this comes out tomorrow, I'm gonna have a donation matching post tomorrow working with Matthew McConaughey's foundation. - What does his foundation do? - Just keep living foundation. - What does just keep living in Dale? - It's kind of a catch all that is for inner city kids, high school kids, students, for like a crop. It's like a kind of overarching. It's what I was looking for. It's getting involved and it's so awesome that's Matthews. But Matthews. - M. - Matthews, mats. But keep an eye on that too. I need to figure out how I'm gonna link it or what, yeah for my birthday. - That's right. - I think it'll be really fun. It's like a big, it's a big week, but then my parents will be here. - When are they coming? - They're gonna come in the day before the show. They were gonna come in early, but it's too hot in LA. - It honestly is. - Yeah, I was like genuinely, I don't even want you to be here. - I was gonna clean out my car today and now I guess. - No, bro, that's not possible. - I'll never be able, I don't know, when I'll be able to do that ever, so. - No, you can't. Okay. - I do want to mention Nathan Fielder's new documentary. - Yeah. - With Elizabeth Holmes. - You know, was it us that we were talking about like what is Nathan Fielder up to? Like a couple episodes ago, not recently, but I remember us talking about Nathan Fielder and we were just like, he's been weirdly quiet. - It's too quiet. - I'm just surprised, I thought this was gonna be, you know he was pictured like something, was he coming out of jail? I think he was coming out of jail from visiting her, like maybe like a year ago he was pictured doing that. So this has been suspected, but I always figured it was gonna be for the next season of the rehearsal, not for a documentary that's gonna be in theaters next. - Can I also really quickly, I have a lot of trouble with Elizabeth Holmes and remembering what the evil part of what she did was. - See? - 'Cause I know that she-- - I know it. - She lied about, she inflated number, some numbers, but I forget which numbers she flated. - No, she basically lied about like the tech. She, it was like the, what was it called? Theronos, it was like a blood test. - Blood test, where you could like get a lot of like info from just a prick. And she just made it, they didn't have the tech, nice. They didn't have the tech, but she lied to the investors and then just got a fuck ton of money from them. - Okay, so my question is, I get that like lying is bad, but like why didn't they double check? Like that's as much on them as it is on her. She just says, "I have really good company." And they go, "Here's money." Why didn't they double check? - She's not the one who you're thinking of Anna Delvie, she's not the one with the content. - I didn't know, the accent that I did is just like, I do that accent all the time. - Oh, okay, I didn't realize. - Okay, Elizabeth Holmes, I have really good tech. And they're like, "Okay, here's the money." Why aren't they running background checks on this woman? Like she was Anna Delvie in a way, because like, who are these people giving her money? Are they going out and golfing and getting drunk? And then they're like, "Here's money." - What are her, like what was she arrested for? Like is it perjury? No, that's fraud. - That's it. - No, I get that fraud. I'm just saying, why didn't they double check? - What's perjury lying under oath? - There she's not under oath. - No, I know. - We're raising a round of money. How do you not, before you give people money unless you're writing it off or like, you're trying to move money around illegally? Like I really, like, I could be so wrong with it. - I think she had like really elaborate like false data that she was pumping out. You're flubbing the nut, I just-- - Oh, she was flubbing everything. But if you're giving someone money, if I'm giving someone money, I want to see, I want to do my own research. I'm like, you have people that do that. I just can't believe that they sent you, I feel like you're victim blaming. - Who was the victim? - The people who were conned out of their money. - The massive black rock? Who gave her money? Like, I'm sorry, it's like-- - I don't know. - It's hard to feel bad, it kind of-- - I feel like-- - It's a, I'm saying that I don't have all the information. I'm just saying, like, and she's rightfully in jail for frotting people out of their money bit. I don't know, I'm confused. - I get that. It was with Humbra, roughly nine hundred million. I was kidding when I was-- - She's not like Bernie made off that, like-- - No, it was like Betsy DeVos, like it's fine. But-- - Yeah, like she, like there wasn't like a, like a lower class-- - No, no, no, no, no, no. - A lower class group, people that like lost their homes and had to-- - I don't think so. I don't think so. I think she was scamming like millionaires and billionaires. - Former US Secretary of Education and her family contributed to a hundred million dollars. How did they have a hundred million dollars, by the way? Like, I feel like there's more stuff to look into on this. - Can I be honest? I don't really know. - I don't really know. I wish I did. - She conned Robert Kraft. - Of Kraft, Mac and Cheese. - No, of the New England Patriots, and yeah, Mac and Cheese. - Is it the same person? - I've met him a couple times. - He's a-- - He's old as a sponge. - You've met him? - When my cousin was the-- - Oh, I forgot about that. Yeah, I don't really know. Like, I don't think-- I feel like she's not the kind of criminal that people are like-- - Please look at these investors. Can we scroll up a little bit? I'm dumb, okay? I'm very stupid, so-- - Yeah, I'm very stupid. - Oh my gosh. Rupert Murdoch, okay? The Walton family.
from Walmart, Betsy DeVos, Robert Craft, Tim Draper, Angel Investor, put in 500,000, which is. No, I think people look at her in a similar way if they look at Anna Delvie where they're like not like super pissed. High profile media moguls, wealthy families, venture capital firms, and prominent politicians. No people, I think people have the same sort of like okay girl boss attitude towards her, I think. Even like she asks she's a criminal. She's a businessman. She definitely didn't. I don't want to get in trouble for this when I'm saying I'm essentially relearning this but like this kind of feels like to me if you were to be learning about this at the beginning, she conned politicians and venture capital firms and wealthy families out of money maybe if you just okay say if you if you switch the words to like she's putting this money towards research to create this company that does amazing things with blood testing like that's a that's a martyr you know like that's like her defense. I think she was planning for the tech to work. I'm confused. It kind of feels like they I don't know what her intentions were besides fraud but like and she she's willingly admitted to being like to doing all this but like if say she was who she said she was then it kind of seems like they're putting someone behind bars that had the capability to help people in the healthcare field. I think there was like a little bit something a little bit more sinister. There must have been definitely like it got to a point where she was like really like woke up every day like how can I get the most money for for my fake tech. I mean that does sound fun but um I mean how does how does like capital blue cross a mirror health cart. Yeah how did she make it this far. Sorry like you do look into how did she make it how did how did she make it as far as she did. You need to double check again I'm sorry if I'm I'm not an investor but if I'm an investor I value my money you know these people like when you look at like a Betsy divorce. Why did no one she probably check it was looking for a quick turnaround on her money like a quick investment turn around. Huh okay I'm sorry if I'm wrong just like heads up but like. You see high profile political backing and the unique trust based culture of Silicon Valley. Okay so it was an adult. She was shielded from technical standard review. She claimed her blood testing technology was a proprietary trade secret which allowed her to refuse independent laboratory testing. So yeah at some point you do have to blame the investors. Yeah but I'm sure it was kind of like a. You do have to victim blame. I'm sure it was kind of like and I'm sorry to bring this up too but like. Intimidation and control this is the bad part. Okay inside there are no tombs in her partner's sunny use aggressive legal threats surveillance and employee firing silence internal whistleblowers. But like that's not why she got fired she got or that's not why she's in jail she's in jail for the fraud not even her internal policies. What were Elizabeth. Holmes charges. They hate to see a girl watching two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and nine counts of wire fraud. Wait what's the wire fraud then probably transferring the money hundred million dollars into her offshore account. Oh understood. Understood. Wait what was she actually using the money for. I figured she was just using it for the money. Wait yeah what was she doing. Why do you need that much money. Hi. Elizabeth uses the over seven hundred million dollars she raised from investors to build operating market for blood testing started right rather than a functional prototype and market. So she was marketing it to I guess outside people. So then that's when you start like losing the trust. I forgot about the wall greens of it all. Money went toward rolling out commercial wellness centers inside wall green stores where consumers could walk in for blood tests. Okay. This is where you lose it. Were people giving blood like proprietary. Were they giving like DNA samples to her. What were they doing with the blood samples if that's what they were saying is like they were just sitting in a lab like she wasn't ever like using the technology. Oh that's very funky. It's funky. Well people are just sitting around like I need the results of my blood test. So there were there may have been lives lost because they put trust in her company that wasn't operating. How long is she in for 11 that's like not a lot. And I feel like she'll get out of her own behavior because she's pretty. So I'm definitely curious as to what Nathan Fielder is going to do here. Marry her. She honestly. I could see it. I think she's married. I ship Elizabeth Holmes and Nathan Fielder. I have like a really fun conversation to potentially have with you. If you have anything to contribute and this does seem up up your alley. Yeah. It's a shift away from where we are right now. That's fine. Do you remember when bands used to make music for movies? Yes. Did you know that accidentally in love was made for Shrek? We've had this conversation. It just came up across my desk again. Yeah. Can we look up classic songs that were made for movies? Iris. Iris was made. No it wasn't made for a movie. Connor, we've had this conversation too. I don't recall. The lyrics of Iris are the plot of the movie that it's made for. We'll look into that. Okay. So over the rainbow by Judy Garland was Wizard of Oz. I knew that moon river. It was from breakfast at Tiffany's. Okay. These are all like. This is what happens. These are all like. I have the tiger bite was by survivor from Rocky. Don't you forget about me at breakfast club classic. Take my breath away. Top gun. I have nothing but when he used to. My heart will go on. No, that was Titanic. That was written for Titanic. Well, I think like accidentally in love was like, you play that and it reminds me of 2008. You know, accidently in love. I was going to do that for karaoke. Iris by Google dolls was written specifically for the 1998 film of City of Angels. I don't know that one. But it's about. It's the lyrics of the song or about an angel who is giving up his life in heaven to. For this woman. Can we pull out the lyrics to to Iris? As I give up forever to see to touch you. It's like the plot is actually like deeply upsetting. I give up forever to touch you to because I know that you feel me somehow you're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be and I don't want to go home right now. We need to close this. But then he ends up becoming alive and then can we close this tab? And then she does. I was trying to make it to the end of the episode. Have a bite of this cupcake and I can't. Go ahead. Have a bite of the cupcake. You're watching me like lose self control. It's okay. Have a bite. Wait, what does it take to our sound? Well, we're going to have to look into this in the bonus. Wait, I really clearly what's the plot of city of angels or whatever it is? What is that? An immortal angel named Seth. Why would they name an angel Seth? Sorry, you lost me. No. An immortal angel named Seth who falls in love with a mortal heart surgeon named Maggie Rice. Who wrote this? And decides to give up his wings experience human life. Hindsight is 20 20. Seth watches over Dr. Maggie Rice, a dedicated surgeon who becomes devastated when a patient dies on our operating table. Their eyes meet during surgery and Seth becomes deeply captivated by her man and the invulnerability, humanity and vulnerability. There's some sort of romantic irony though because something about him giving up his immortality. Just as they finally unite in experience physical love tragedy strikes and Maggie is struck by a truck. We're writing her. Oh, because she doesn't have her angel anymore. Oh, no. Seth is left heartbroken yet he does not regret his choice because even a brief moment of feeling human love was so it's worth killing her. It's basically worth like being immortal isn't all it's cracked up to be. But like that's the romantic irony of like he gave up being an angel. Like maybe he was her angel. And that's what she died. Basically because he stopped, he gave up his immortality for selfish reasons to be able to touch her because he gave up forever to touch her. Ew. Yeah, that's a Seth move. Seth the angel. The audacity of you to come down and touch her and then she gets hit by a truck. That worse for state ever. Be like. And then Iris is playing and he's like, well, guess I'll download Bumble. Crazy concept. Concept. The concept. Stupid as book. Okay. All right. Well, it was nice talking to you. It was a dream. I'll see you.
