Speaker 2Yeah, pretty straightforward.
Speaker 1Perfect, that's what we like. I'll tell you, it was straightforward. The win of Setono Glow at Flemington at the weekend. She just parked up in a nice spot, always looked in control of that race from about 400 out. She was quite impressive.
Speaker 2Yeah, she was. She, as you said, you know, she looked to be travelling very smoothly and to put the race away in a couple of strides, which has been a bit of a theme with her, with her victories. You know, she's got a very, very good turn of foot.
Speaker 1Excellent turn of foot. She's won three out of four now. What are you thinking with Setono Glow going forward?
Speaker 2Well, she came back home because we've got a bit of time to her next run. So she's back here, looks great. And we'll go to Danehill, which is at the start of October. She's back down straight, 1100. And then we'll likely leave her down in Melbourne. And I guess the Danehill will be the, you know, if she can run well enough, then I'm warranted a crack at the Cornwall, probably our primary aim.
Speaker 1Yeah, fantastic. And stretching it to 1200 holds no concerns for you, this preparation?
Speaker 2No, I don't think so. You know, she, you know, Percy Sykes probably a bit unlucky not to win that at the 1200 at Randwick. So, yeah, I don't see any issues. She wouldn't actually relax as well. So, 1200 would be fine.
Speaker 1You had another runner in that race, Cintalation. Went well.
Speaker 2Yeah, raced really well. So, a bit of black type now. Probably just the winner in the second had momentum into their run and just probably popped her away in a pocket. But she got out and hit the line well. She'll go to the Scarborough next Sunday at Caulfield. She obviously handles. Caulfield, well. Stepped to 1200. Looks suitable. And hopefully she'll pick up a race like that soon.
Speaker 1Okay. What did you make of, at the weekend, the debut at 2400 of Kenmare Bay up in trip? Looked like he peaked late there, but that might toughen him up a bit. That was in Sydney.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's right. That's right, yeah. Sort of not a guaranteed non-stayer, but we know he's a pretty sharp horse at those sort of trips. But another really good effort. He probably does excel. When he gets his toe in the ground. So he's come through it well. We might run him at a 2400 metre midweek or maybe up at Eagle Farm in a 2200 metre race. I think that's also on the 3rd of October. Okay.
Speaker 1Canterbury today, before we just touch on the weekend, locked a nose running in race two. He was beaten as an odds-on favourite on debut at Kembla Grange, but it was a solid effort running third. He's 420 today in that second race.
Speaker 2Yeah. He didn't execute as well as he could have done on debut. He drew down soft and we just made a bit of use of his gait and he just over-raced through that first half of the race and then as a result was a bit tame. So, again, he has drawn barrier one today, but we'll probably just learn a bit more about how to ride him. Obviously, he steps up in the trip a little bit, but we do feel probably where his sweet spot will be and just allowing him to get in the rhythm. He's a very big, strong horse, so he can certainly bounce back to form.
Speaker 1Okay. That's today and Dr. No race two, number four at Canterbury. The weekend, looks like you've drawn barrier nine with linebacker in the Bill Ritchie. How is he? Linebacker's great.
Speaker 2He's been going well for a period of time, probably wasn't reflecting his form in his last couple of runs at Scone and in Queensland. Poor, but just weren't as good as we know that he can offer. He's come back well and maybe we just hold on to him a bit more in his races and can see him a bit more effective, but he's flying at home and I'll be disappointed if he can't win something through the spring.
Speaker 1Indeed. Bill Ritchie's usually a good Epsom lead-up. Is that what you're targeting?
Speaker 2No, we won't go to the Epsom. We'll likely go three weeks for the Alan Brown. Yep. At Rose Hill and then more than likely but perhaps on to the Doncaster Prelude over 1500. So there's a couple of valuable races just below that top tier that we can look to target.
Speaker 1Okay, that's with linebacker and the latest on him. The other race at the weekend that's interesting is the Kingston Town. You've got stars in their eyes there. Drawn 15. Looks like it's an emergency at the moment. Athabaskan's drawn 11. Klondike drawn one in that Kingston Town at the weekend.
Speaker 2You're right, okay. Yeah, it's like stars in their eyes. I mean, ideally we're keen to run him because we're thinking about getting him to a Metrop and the other two are resuming. They may go through the Metrop but they're obviously first up this weekend. All three of them are progressing well. Stars in their eyes obviously is a slightly more unexposed force that surprisingly hasn't won yet. Here in Australia, but they've put in a couple of really big efforts showing him to be a horse with a good bit of upside. So we were thinking if he didn't get in this week or we didn't want to run him, there is an 88-1800 next Saturday, but we need to work that out.
Speaker 1Okay. Bartoff's there as well at the weekend in race number four. I think he's second up, Bartoff?
Speaker 2Yeah, he's third up.
Speaker 1That's right, Huey rode him first up.
Speaker 2Yeah, he was a good run the other day in what was probably quite a strong benchmark, 78. Probably knowing the horse might have just been a slightly closer run to see him as most effective, but all the same it was a good effort and he'd be fitter and more prepared now for this assignment. Indeed.
Speaker 1And just back to Friday, the Tibby Stakes looks a nice race for Palimnia drawing gate five.
Speaker 2Oh, that's a good draw for her. So, yeah, she's, she came, you know, just been knocking on the door at stakes level for a while now. Obviously group one placed and stakes placed. We'll probably try and get the angst stakes similar to what we did last spring with her. So she'll probably run Tibby and then there's a 94 Epsom day and then angst and then perhaps go to Melbourne for English bracelet over a mile. So that's sort of our intentions. If she can win a stakes race, this preparation, then that would be magic.
Speaker 1Okay. A listener wanted me to ask you about Mind Games. One start for one win. He's had a recent trial.
Speaker 2Mind Games was obviously good on his win. He came back, just had a foot abscess, which knocked him back sort of 10 days. And then he had a trial last week. Trial was acceptable, but he just was in need of it a little bit. So he'll have a second trial next Friday and then we'll, we'll think about where he goes racing. But probably that foot abscess just slightly put a spanner in the works for, for the, you know, early part or mid part of the spring. Hopefully he can be, you know, chiming in towards the back end somewhere.
