Tom Brady’s leather pants, Travis Kelce’s new ad (and dog), Coco Gauff’s mom, Taylor Fritz’s new girlfriend, and the crazy Daejon Love 49ers scam
55m 11s
The episode features a dynamic mix of celebrity culture, fashion, and real-life scandals. It opens with an exclusive discussion on Tom Brady’s leather pants, where he defends himself against criticism and reveals the emotional toll of online backlash, highlighting how fashion shapes public perception. Travis Kelsey’s new Tommy Hilfiger ad with their dog, Wendy, is praised for its aesthetic and authenticity, though it sparks debate about the appropriateness of using personal family life in brand campaigns. A major story centers on Coco Golf’s mom, who publicly declines family ticket requests, revealing the emotional exhaustion and boundaries of public parenting. The hosts also explore Taylor Fritz’s new relationship with Olivia Jade, noting the questionable authenticity of her college applications, which raises ethical questions about deception in athlete lives. A more serious and disturbing story involves a 49ers scam where Dejan Love and a 14-year-old accomplice allegedly defrauded 26 women of $1.3 million by posing as NFL players, with disturbing evidence of fake contracts and workouts. The episode concludes with a sharp critique of wealth’s limits, using Joshua Kushner’s failed FIFA investment as a metaphor for how money cannot override cultural and political forces in global sports. Throughout, the hosts blend humor with deep social observation, offering fans insight into the personal, emotional, and ethical complexities behind public figures’ lives, while reinforcing audience engagement through subscriptions and social media. The tone is both investigative and heartfelt, celebrating unfiltered truth in a world of manufactured narratives.
testing testing testing testing sounds sound we'll hear we'll hear how it sounds we will hear how it

know i have i i go into a bit of a post maine depression every year when i leave but you know
i'm feeling good right now so we'll take that as a win it was very nice to get away on the way to
maine we stopped in providence you sure did had a lovely little stay at the beatrice lovely time
great
and you were the best tour guide oh my god i would just like to say thank you so much i'm putting it
on record on the show i've said it to you but i'm i'm putting it on the show that is so sweet
you were great well it was a joy to have you up there and my family loved getting to see my whole
family was like we feel like we know madeline and and now they do actually know you but also i was
like no you do you do i was like if you know us on the show that's a pretty good approximation of
i'd say so of who we are it's not like you know there's some people you like you watch them and
if you were seen in person and then you're like oh my god i love your work and then they're like
they're mean yes i don't think we're mean no no no no we can be sassy but i don't think we're
mean but not mean no and definitely not to people talking to us oh no no no never goodness no
the only well i wasn't mean but i almost got into a fight with a guy at a restaurant but it was okay
well some that's okay sometimes i get mad at the clipboard people
right when they ask you questions that are like rage bait questions and they're like do you like
animals it's like yes and i also donate to non-profits that help animals but i'm not signing
up for whatever this is right now yeah i'm busy yeah so you know everybody has their
their um the nerve you can hit exactly um with all that said yes we have a phenomenal episode
for you all today what do we have charlotte well oh my god am i doing it i think i'm just i'm
putting you on the spot holy cannoli all right well we're gonna start off uh talking about tom
brady's leather pants oh my god and there's an exclusive we got regarding that which is um
very exciting uh another ad actually we're just doing free pr for gucci and tommy hill figure but
travis kelsey has a new ad featuring his dog yeah coco golf uh her mom posted something that i'm not
sure i've ever seen a parent post before i have never seen this before in my life uh which is how
it's bad um taylor fritz the tennis star oh he's dating someone new yes um a little news about
messy and then madeline what do we have to finish it all off we have the 49ers scammer scandal heard
around the internet yeah i don't know if it's been heard around the world yet but at least
around the internet which is kind of the world it can be um a man and a co-conspirator allegedly
defrauded at least 26 women out of 1.3 million dollars
to be a 49ers player among other things so we'll be talking about that it's tough uh and then just
a little josh kushner update yeah because now we just like to see what he's up to he's always up
to something i'm always up to something um all right well let's start with tom brady's leather
pants charlotte i gasped when i got an email last night did you from you whoa from the wilder things
which you should all subscribe to and subscribe so much it had the word exclusive in the headline
can you please tell our shareholders what's going on yeah thank you first of all i'm we talked about
this offline obviously the show comes first yes if we ever if i got an exclusive the so
it just worked out that it was going to be better in print yeah i talked to tom brady's gucci leather
pants i i you know i think everyone needs to sit with this for a second it really is
unbelievable that you spoke to the pants thank you because i know that they have been very elusive
they have declined multiple interview requests yeah so for them to sit down with you no i know
and you know what i think that's a testament to the work that you and i have done and that i've
done for so long on tom brady's social media presence because basically if you're not following
tom brady walked in the gucci show in may
in times square and he was wearing the pants he was wearing leather that's their name is actually
leather pants i called them mr pants to be respectful but um he was wearing these pants
in the in the show yeah and we talked about it at the time a lot of people made a lot of fun of him
yes for those pants yeah um he then appeared in a gucci print ad for um the creative director
demna's fall winter 2026 collection along with the model alex consani sd kid who's the rapper
who's really just timothy shepard and he's wearing a leather pants and he's wearing a leather pants
chalamet we're pretty sure um and the singer sean mendez and you know i think the reason that
mr pants decided it was time to speak out is because tom first of all the the pants he told
me he's been taking so much heat yeah for tom's online crash out people have been like and now
he's wearing leather pants right yeah and he seems to come from a long line of famous family
members is that correct yeah yeah yeah yeah long line of high fashion
leather pants um his dad worked with jared leto and i probably should have pressed him on this
you know given that the recent allegations against leto but i was like that yeah you know that's for
a separate interview um his mom was in the alia try again music video his grandfather and grandmother
met in mick jagger's closet wow crazy wow um and his great-grandfather uh was really close with
elvis so so here's pants being like okay this is my time to shine yeah with tom brady right it was
a one-way show and then everybody just rips him apart and i think um he's been feeling like even
if it cost him his job in tom brady's closet he has to set the narrative straight and say like
i'm i'm not i don't i'm not the one causing him to crash out no it's not his problem he wants to
be excluded from the narrative yeah and i understand that yeah i mean it was great he was
like yeah gq reached out like tmz was trying to talk to him oh my god it was really yeah it was
really cool i did offend him at the end of the show but he was like yeah i'm not the one causing him to crash out
and i was like oh my god i'm not the one causing him to crash out he was like yeah i'm not the one causing him to crash out
i did offend him at the end of the interview which i felt really bad i accidentally said
feels like a real kick in the pants which apparently is like a i know in the pants
community they don't like so he he got off the zoom and i haven't heard from him since but i
think i got the i mean this interview really is unbelievable you really get a new perspective
thank you and learn new details about not only his thinking but also tom brady's potential thinking
um and i really highly recommend all of our shareholders read this thank you so much it
you know like you never know who's getting hurt exactly when a celebrity's going through something
and you always have to consider you know their clothes yeah um and whatnot and more clothes and
mostly their clothes and shoes because clothes have feelings too yeah you gotta walk a mile in
their shoes and pants as the saying goes you really do i almost asked i almost asked uh mr
pants about you know i mean look everybody farts right
right
okay but i but i thought that would be
well that can be for a part two yeah we really didn't break
if anyone's still listening after that they're like what they're like what if this is your first
episode listening to our show sorry yeah and you're welcome and you're welcome um but yeah
i mean tom's just really still going through it wow well speaking of a different tom tommy
hillfiger yes has a new face of his brand you know it's crazy what so is that he's still tommy
at the age of like an old age yeah that's he never he never went to tom hillfiger maybe he
is that in his personal life maybe that's his professional name his stage name his stage name
some may say yeah i like when when older gentlemen still have the y at the end of the name it's nice
yeah it's nice i appreciate it you're never too
old uh yes uh travis kelsey kansas city chief's tight end and taylor swift's husband
crazy crazy uh is the new face of tommy hillfiger yeah and he's not the only member of the swift
kelsey family who's in the campaign their dog their dog debuted at the plaza hotel with travis
kelsey she's a samoyed her name is allegedly wendy
but maybe not unclear what has it what's going on well forbes in the article said it's reportedly
named wendy or something like that okay rumors rumors are it's wendy okay tree pain if you want
to correct the record for us i would love you to email us and say that and tell us one way yeah we
would love you to email us just about anything you can send so so so was it disputed that the
dog's name is wendy or it's just it's not confirmed it's not been confirmed but i do feel like
spiritually the name wendy for the dog's name is wendy for the dog's name is wendy for the dog's
name is wendy for a dog that taylor swift co-owns yeah would make sense well she has all these
things about peter pan and wendy yeah her songs right even though peter pan people have speculated
that that was maddie healy and she was wendy so yeah but perhaps perhaps me thanks haven't said
me thanks in a minute come back here and it just all comes just flowing right out of you um but
yeah i thought it was i thought it was a well done campaign it was a very well done campaign
there were some other athletes
cameos in the ad including francis tiafoe the tennis player and carmelo anthony yeah former
nba star yep they were in it and um gg hadid taylor's friend yeah close friend and you can
tell she and travis were that you know they were until they were friends yeah in real life he wasn't
acting no no it felt like they were vibing and then at the end he gets into a yellow cab with
tommy hill figure yeah when do you think the last time tommy hill figure took a yellow cab was
decades ago yeah 80s 80s yeah 90 maybe the 90s maybe early no early early 2000s because like
there's no uber right right right and yeah you could have a driver but but like you gotta get
you gotta go to dinner in town real quick exactly you're getting any yellow or he could always still
take yellow cabs we don't know tommy if you're listening let us know tell me if you're listening
put us in an ad oh please we would thrive i really don't know if you're listening put us in an ad
i really i know we're just giving free promo to tommy hill figure but it really was a good ad no
it was a great ad i'm not they didn't tell us to say this they did not even send us the pr
no we didn't get the release nothing we've got no communication this is earned media earned
media right now on the show but it was a really nice ad it was i watched the whole thing me too
and you know what i thought the sound design was doing a lot of heavy lifting because it was the
song back in the new york groove yes which my friends and i in college for some reason
it's by ace freely who was in kiss it's from like the 80s the song i keep talking about the 80s no
no what's going on you're an 80s baby it's true 1989 not me never forget no not you um but anyway
but like my friends i love that song yeah and we would get really drunk to that song for some
reason even though we're in waterville maine but you know i and i liked the way it sort of faded
in and out as he went inside and outside yeah it was really well done congrats to the team congrats
to the happy guy
and congrats to wendy congrats to wendy she's adorable so cute so cute it is funny because i
think there was a quote from that vogue article about it uh-huh where travis said she really fit
the aesthetic yeah and it's just funny to think about travis kelsey saying that a samoyed really
fit the aesthetic of a tommy hill figure ad which it did i would have thought that maybe i would say
if i'm going to critique a dog which i'm not critiquing a dog i'm not critiquing the dog however i do think
in terms of aesthetic for a dog and a tommy hill figure campaign i wonder if a golden retriever was
suggested because that tommy hill figure feels like an all-american brand and golden retrievers
feel like an all-american dog i thought you were gonna say that that's my that's my only
thought i don't think you're wrong i don't think you're wrong i think also i could see a spaniel
yeah you know german short-haired pointer like the real americana
hunting also the the amount of brands using travis kelsey as their all-american
boy i know they understand they know what they're doing oh yeah and it's and it's and it works like
yeah didn't he do an abercrombie thing or probably you know whatever maybe i'm just
gonna start saying brands and see if anyone wants to sponsor a podcast
hey brands come on the pod brands sports gossip brands we need some cash
some cold hard cash in it we are in a drought folks
we need a little hydration we could use in the form of american cash
usd baby anyone has a money tree i saw this i saw someone do it's either like a notes or a tweet or
something and said um it was a sub stack notes because they were like i'm really looking um to
foster a community of people who want to venmo me five hundred dollars i love that like the end and
you know i hope they got it this newsletter will always be dedicated to you and i'm really looking
to other people who want to venmo me five hundred dollars i love that i love that so so yeah
anyways she's got a little qr code on the screen sponsor by zell oh that'd be a good sponsor that
would be money chase if you're listening well bank of america isn't it or is it zell oh i don't know
zell separate is that what i gotta google this wait is zell bank who is zell zell i just zella
person who came up with that wow bank of america truest capital one jp morgan chase
nc bank u.s bank wells fargo whoever started zell made a lot of money well they had to they were
zelled a lot of money on zell do you think it was jared kushner who made it let's find out found as
charlotte's reading the wikipedia yeah i think it was just like a jp morgan oh really paul finch
okay surprise he doesn't own a sports team oh see zell's principal competitors paypal and venmo
right did you know paypal and venmo
paypal owned venmo i did know that and also isn't paypal owned by elon musk who owns he started pay
he started paypal follow the money literally literally um all right well anyways so there's
that congrats to travis and tommy yeah congrats um coco golf's mom coco golf u.s tennis star
uh it is the u.s open we will be there yes on thursday very excited not to brag not to brag
not to brag very excited very cool speaking of brands very cool brand that we're going with
you'll find out that's a tease in the biz folks yeah um coco golf's mom posted uh an instagram
with a picture of coco holding up the u.s open trophy from when she won madeline can you tell
the shareholders what she wrote yes candy golf wrote dear family and friends i apologize in
advance for this blunt but necessary statement i know you are very excited about coco plane in the
u.s open me too with three exclamations
points coco's guest ticket requests have already been accounted for unfortunately i will not be
able to hook you up with the ticket please make arrangements to purchase a ticket side note never
ask for more than two tickets coco has grown now and she has her own friends that she is honoring
for tickets for the match thank you for your continued support and this was an in-feed post
on main with a photo of coco and that was the caption so what's there's several things about
this how many
people must have asked her for five plus tickets for her to go to the grid that's what i'm saying
she didn't she also could have created like an email listserv to send to her family and friends
she said dear family and friends i'm publicly telling you to f**k off and the funniest part is
it's not like she has a hundred followers on instagram she has over 17 000 followers yeah
this post got 20 000 likes did she not think like other people would see it like did she think she
was posting you know now on instagram and she's like i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't
know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know
you could do like a close friend's in-feed post oh right i think did you think she was doing that
no no this woman was so this woman got this woman got one last request from the husband of her
hairdresser's best friend and said not today satan enough enough and she went right to the internet
and you know what i respect i do too i respect it i've never seen something like this and i don't
know if we'll ever see it again it feels so pure and innocent and it also feels like something a mom
would do? A mom at the end of a rope.
imagine Coco's reaction when she saw her mom posted this on Instagram I wonder if she maybe
she loved it because maybe part of part of what I'm seeing is is uh Coco has grown now and has
her own friend basically her mom this is directed to her mom's friends and family this isn't like
Coco's friends no this is like directed to maybe like Coco's friends parents right or like like
people that they once knew who are texting them out of the blue and she's like please lose my
number right right I think that candy golf maybe needs to get a new phone number I think maybe yeah
do you know what I mean that might need to happen like it's time to make some changes I think yeah
me thanks me thanks yeah no it feels um really pure and it's a rare thing to see from a public
figure to do this and I wish more public figures did this just about anything it's just exciting
and it's it's it's insight into their lives about a harmless
thing yeah I mean I'm sure it's annoying but it's like she's like you know we now know that
candy golf is so annoyed at everybody in her life who's asking for tickets and that's a little detail
we wouldn't know if she hadn't posted this and that's a detail that this show is built for
exactly and I'm glad we got the detail and I'm glad we can analyze it me too so trying to think
is there anything you would like is there anything you would say I don't I mean I guess we're not no
one's like asking us
for stuff no I'm trying to think is there like a friends and family PSA I would put out
I don't think I don't have anything I used to get when I did social media consulting a lot
people would ask to pick my brain about like social media consulting for their company right
for free and it was like you can pay me with cold hard cash as I said to consult but I'm not going
to do that for free with U.S American dollars U.S American dollars well their home media consulting
like hire us yeah yeah we'll do stuff for you yeah I don't know what but couldn't consult couldn't
tell you but we we do consultants really know what they're doing no absolutely we're consultants for
hire you think anybody going to work at Deloitte wakes up and says I've got this no no consulting
is crazy too because you get dropped into things that you don't know anything about I've done it
not at Deloitte but freelance consulting yeah well that feels different freelance consulting feels
different well yes however there have been many a times I've been just dropped into a project yeah
and I'm like what am I I've been told I'm of what I'm supposed to do the deliverables were clear on
my end yeah however when I'm showing up to the party yeah this was a black tie affair and I'm
in business casual oh no you know what I mean nothing worse it's like what's going on here
right and you realize and I don't have a dress so I guess I'm gonna have to find one and then you go
into the bathroom and you turn Tommy
you know what that ad reminded me of sorry this is sponsored by Tommy no now I'm gonna pivot to
Ralph Lauren remember Polo by Ralph I mean rugby right by Ralph oh yeah I lived and died yes for
rugby by Ralph that was such a good youth targeted brand it worked hey Ralph bring it back bring us
to the open Ralph Tommy Heritage brand Abercrombie and Fitch Ella Bean mostly
what do we have to do I I don't know how many times what does it grow how many times have we
brought up Ella Bean on the show do you want to know I had a low last night what what'd you do
I commented on a long time shareholders will know how much I love the uh brand of boat company of
boat called Boston Whaler yeah I commented on a Boston Whaler in feed Instagram post like a
sponsored one yeah it had 300 likes and I commented I simply cannot express how available
I am to make content for you yes please hire Charlotte for this no please please she would
be a perfect ambassador for your company I will go anywhere you need from to put me in a boat you'll
take a boat to moderate a conversation with boat people yeah truly with captains put me in the BVI
put me in Montauk put me in Maine I can drive a boat anywhere I'm really good at it I used to have
my boating license it expired but I can still I still possess the skills well we can also get you
a new license I have a hair in my mouth well so all right anyways moving right along another quick
tennis story sorry this feels amazing it's still good I feel so free feeling good
sorry
oh
oh
oh my God oh my God
we're keeping this in um so here's it behind the scenes we we're missing a little screw to
our mic yeah well we're we have a screw loose so they're propped up I don't know if you can tell
mine just fell but it's because I touched it well I think we're still good it's my fault I
see it's recording still plugged in because it's not the touchy thing is it on top no it's not good
it's all good just gonna
put a hand there for now there you go
I just want to know did any shareholders miss this I don't know I hope so we're having a good
time we're having a good time um okay another quick tennis story yes Taylor Fritz American
tennis star who previously was dating Morgan Riddle who was a guest in our show for a long
time invited back at any time and she knows that yes she can come back any time um is apparently
dating Olivia Jade yes and for those of you who say well who's Olivia Jade we say she is the
daughter of Aunt Laurie from full house who is Laurie wait no what was her name on the show I
don't know Laurie Laughlin Laurie Laughlin the actress I don't remember what was her name anyway
um and uh an international an Italian fashion designer I believe and she is was one of the
kids who was caught up in that um uh admissions scandal run by that guy Rick Singer in like 2019
oh I wish we had this show then me too we should we should really go back and do yeah that's a good
archive because pin it so so Taylor Fritz and Olivia Jade are dating that they started apparently
their first outing as a couple a source who was one of their PR people almost for sure said Taylor
invited Olivia to be his date for Paige Lorenz and Tommy Paul's wedding and that was their public
debut as a couple they've been seeing each other for the last three months um and apparently the
this is my favorite uh sentence from this Yahoo Entertainment article the influencer and oh
piccola founder so that's a company that how do you spell that o dot p-i-c-c-o-l-a there is no
it's an it's a makeup line oh boy uh with the worst name oh and it's supposed to not be
capitalized which we've talked about don't like that anyway um the influencer meant Fritz quote
through their friend group in the Big Apple the source continues okay the Big Apple the Big Apple
it feels like they met on Raya yes so and we know that Morgan and Taylor met on Raya because Morgan
told us that so I feel he's back on the amps that's how I feel what do you think his song is
now back back in the New York there was one answer to that test and you nailed it I nailed it um and
Morgan went to the U.S open yes with her best friend yes um and she just seemed like she was
in the time of her life I love it for her she said she did this she did the TikTok sound of watching
the games and she said when do they kiss yeah of the tennis players and then she said all these men
were getting so mad in the comments and it's just a beautiful thing I love them Morgan keep it up we
love the content also I will say the movie challengers did understand the assignment no
it did it did and we need a sequel and a third one we do and preferably a little bit more kissing I
would say a little I was disappointed you wanted more kissing well I don't know I don't know I don't
know we're kissing well I feel like between Josh O'Connor and what's his name yeah or yeah or Zendaya
any of them doesn't matter to me yeah Gen Z doesn't like sex on camera anymore apparently
well but I feel like that would be that's silly that movie they played it up like it was going to
be this sexy movie and then there wasn't much happening and this is by the guy to call me by
your name because that's what I'm saying anyways I would I would watch a challenger's television
show which is rare that I say that about a movie because I think usually things should be movies
instead of TV shows because TV shows the middle gets too long I agree except for Widows Bay which
is perfect perfect show yeah well anyways interesting interesting oh sorry what forgot
I just want to talk real quick about Olivia Jade's fake uh college applications oh my God saying that
she was a a coxswain which is the person who sits in the front of a boat um when you're rowing crew
and faces everybody rowing they're small and all the rowers are tall and big and they tell the
rowers what to do yeah can I tell you a quick story please I don't know if I've said this on
the show before when I was in eighth grade um there was a mom of someone I went to school with
yeah and we were at like some book fair and she looked at me and she was like Charlotte you're
tall do you row crew also I must have been in ninth grade so short in eighth grade self whatever and
said, do you row crew? And I said, no. And she said, well, you should, it's the only way you're
going to get into an Ivy. And I was so pissed. I would, I got in the car with my mom and I was
like, her name was Lucy. I won't say her last name. I was like, Lucy's such a, you know, I was
like that. I'm going to get in on my own. And then it turned out she was right. I didn't get into any
Ivies. And if I had road crew, I probably would have had a better shot. You probably would. But
I also didn't want to throw up every morning at like six 30. Cause I had such a hard workout.
No, no, no. That's awful. No. So Olivia Jade though, tried to, um, do this. And what's
incredible is that they even put on her application, the fake regattas she competed in.
They said in 2016, 2017, she competed in head of the Charles, which is a huge regatta in Boston
and came in 14th place and 11th place, which is brilliant. Cause nobody would be like, yeah,
I remember the 14th place. No, no one would check. So also though, it's like, she's not good.
Right. She was the highest she placed was fourth.
In any of these things. Right. So did they think that this was going to get her into an Ivy league?
Yeah. I think it got her into USC. Right. Right. Which no shade to USC. However, I do feel like
they have a reputation of being a school that kids with a lot of money go to when they couldn't get
into another school. No shade to USC. Yeah. That's a good point. I'll say to all of them,
very smart kids. So maybe she didn't even need to pretend. That's what I'm saying. I'd like to
achieve any two that she probably would have gotten in regardless. It's a good point.
She might not have gotten into UCLA. Is that harder to get into? I let's look up an acceptance.
You know what? Sure. I want to find out. Do you want me to do USC?
Uh, yeah. Well, not that big of a difference. All right. Spiritually UCLA feels harder.
No shade, no shade. Madeline lived in LA. She can say all this.
Yeah. UCLA 9% USC 10 to 11. Okay. Whatever. I do still feel like she would have gotten in anyways.
Yeah. Yeah, for sure.
So, all right. Moving along. Moving along. Quick thing in a different sport. Lionel Messi
officially retired from international soccer. Team Argentina. Womp womp. Do you think he sang
the song? Don't cry for me, Argentina. Missed opportunity. Why did they not make that the
trending sound on his? I don't know.
Thing. But I hope he stays retired. It doesn't try to do a come out of retirement situation. We
know how those go. We've already talked about Tom Brady enough. Just does it's never the best
situation. Um, so I'm fine with it. He's still apparently playing out the rest of the inter Miami
season. Okay. Do you think he's under contract? I think until 20, 28, 20, 27, but like he could
get out of the guy is messy. He kind of runs that show over. Yeah. He can kind of do what he wants.
Do you think he will?
Retire from inner Miami? Maybe at the end of the season. Yeah. I mean, he lives in Miami. I think
he's chilling. I think he's right. I think it's, I mean, I've seen videos like he can go to Publix
and no one knows who he is or really. Yeah. People don't bother him. That's so nice. Some people do
obviously, but yeah, I think he's in my head, relaxed life in America as a soccer star.
In my head, he's going to Publix in his Argentina Jersey. And he's like, is anyone,
he's like, anybody? Hello. I want to know. He's standing by the grapes being like, what's up? I
don't know if messy has ever waited in line at Publix to get a pub sub because I'm not the first
person to talk about this, but the, the torture of waiting in line for a public sub is crazy.
It's like, it always takes so long. And I don't know why there's something about the ordering
there. It always takes forever. Even if there's just two people in front of you. So I want to
know if messy's waited in line. Let me ask you a question. What, as someone who's never been to a
Publix.
Yeah. It's opportunity. That's a content opportunity. Well, we still need to do,
go to a Georgia game. So that could be a public. Yeah. Do they have a Publix in Athens?
Uh, yeah, I think so. Whatever. Or they're close. Yeah. They have them in they're in Georgia. Yeah.
There'd be one. We could, I know which one we could go to. So is the Publix sandwich situation.
Is the deli, is it a different line? Like where do you wait? Do you wait in line within the store
in the store? If you go to the deli and then you can get
sliced meat separately at the deli and then there's a sandwich line. Okay. By the deli. And
are they that good? The pub subs. I mean, in my opinion, they're one of the best sandwiches
you'll ever have. Are you kidding me? The Italian one. Truly. It's so good. No, it's really good.
I don't know what it is about it. It's not again, it's not like they're using like homemade. No,
whatever. No, but it's just some greens are fresh. It's I, I can't explain it. The oil and vinegar.
So I really could go for a sandwich. Oh, it's so good. We could get a Papa John's sandwich. What
am I thinking? Little John's Jimmy John's. No. Um, well, Jimmy John's is no, what is the one Danny
DeVito does the ads subway? No. What? The Eli man that, um, there, what is that? Not Jimmy John's
sandwich company. No, Charlotte just Googled sandwich company.
The company's Danny DeVito. Oh boy. Let's see if we get an answer. Jersey Mike's. I think I've only
maybe had a Jersey Mike sub a couple times after a volleyball tournament. It's pretty good. Okay.
It's not now look this, my mid Atlantic knowledge is not, um, as strong as it should be. However,
I have been to a fair number of Wawa's in my day. Have you ever had a Wawa sub that in my head is
the closest I've come to a pub sub. Okay. They're very, very good. Okay. We might have to try both.
I ordered Kylie Kelsey's, uh, signature sandwich. Oh, was it good? Yes. Very wait. Did you post a
review of this? I did. I do remember this. And I was skeptical because I didn't, uh, it didn't have
mustard or, or mayo on it. Yeah. And then she commented, I think on the review and said,
sometimes I do put mustard or mayo and that made me feel a little better. Okay. A little dry. Well,
you know, a naked, a naked sub or like a, it's a little freaky. Yeah. Yeah. You want a little,
a little something, a little oil vinegar or something.
Mustard. What's your preferred? I like mustard. I do not like mayo. Okay. I don't know if I knew
that. Don't like mayo. I like mayo in an aioli in a dip in a French fry, but I don't like it on a
sandwich. It's I feel like I'm being held hostage by the mayo really? Cause then it's like every
bite I'm reminded there's mayo. I feel like the mayo. So makes every like, there's like a little
cohesion with the man, a little fat. All right. I get it. I get it. But I do love a mustard. I love
it. If I could only, what if you, okay. You're on a desert island.
Yeah. You can only have one condiment. Oh, mustard. Mm-hmm. Uh, uh, good old,
like over like a chili crunch. Yeah. I would take a mustard. I like a mustard. Yeah. A grain,
a whole grain or a preferred or Dijon. Mm-hmm. I'll take any, I, I don't love a French is yellow
mustard. Frenchies, Frenchies, Frenchies. What is it called? Frenchies. But Frenchies, if you're
listening, I do enjoy big mustard. Oh, that would be cool. I would love nothing more than to be
sponsored by a mustard company. That'd be unbelievable. That like Edward, my mustard,
you know, the like fancy jar. Oh, wow. Anyways. All right. I don't know what we were talking about.
I don't either, but I'm hungry. Yeah. Me too. All right. Okay. Let's get to the,
let's get to the thing. Everybody wants to know about Madeline. Oh my God. This story is I said
this in my newsletter, which okay. You plug my newsletter. I'm gonna plug your newsletter.
Incredible interview.
But yeah, incredible newsletter overall and personalfoul.com go subscribe. You will not
be disappointed. Thank you so much. Thanks for the plug. Um, this story I think is maybe one
of the crazier off the field sports adjacent stories I've heard in a minute. Yeah. I don't
know about you, but I I'm like you hear this story and you're like, I want the documentary. I want a
fictionalized version of this as a mini series. I also want a movie version. I would like a podcast
investigative version of it. Yes. I want to sit down interview with the ghost of Barbara Walters.
All of them. All of them. Give it to me. I'm obsessed. I agree. Did you feel the same way?
You know, no, no, no, no, no. I, I think I don't know. I, this, I wanted to talk to you about this.
Let's let's say what it is and then I'll, and then I'll say my reaction. Okay. All right. So
there are two men at the center of the story, one more than the other, but one man is named Dejan.
Love and him and his co-conspirator, Taylor Chan were charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud
and wire fraud, two different charges. I thought it was, I said a mistake in the FBI's press release,
two charges, two charges, two different charges. Cause he it's it's he thought about doing it and
then he did it. Yeah. Um, they are being accused of allegedly defrauding at least 26 women of $1.3
million. Uh, it's so much money. It's so much money.
Dejan love would pose as fake 49ers player posting workouts. We'll get into all that. He sometimes
would pose, I believe as a, a real estate investor or, or like an investor of sorts, because he was
trying to say to these women that, oh, if you give me money, I have an investment opportunity and I'm
gonna classic. And he did that along with this guy named Taylor. And it's crazy. I have a question
here. Dejan love is 35. Taylor Chan is 18. I didn't see that. What's going on there. Is that like,
is that true? That's what, that's what the district of Oregon, cuz they, they did. They charged him in
Portland, Oregon.
and beginning in February of 2022.
So when,
when Jamie Chan was 14 years old,
I mean,
when Taylor Chan was 14 years old,
he and Dejan love,
who was then 31 started doing this together.
That's the strangest part of this whole thing.
Well,
that's crazy.
And I feel like there has to be another adult involved in this that they have
not arrested yet.
Right.
Like the guy's dad.
I'm like this kid.
Couldn't you argue was also kind of a victim at the beginning.
If he was 14,
I mean,
certainly raises some questions.
Maybe he's like really good with computers and Dejan knew him somehow and
was like,
I need you to help run some of this.
Like help me create these fake profiles,
which may be young.
Yeah.
And Dejan's my age.
And I certainly don't know how to do this.
Right.
And Taylor posed oftentimes as his financial advisor,
which,
which,
which we,
you know what it reminds me of?
Yes.
When Charlotte and I were looking at renting a studio space and we realized
that we were speaking with a teenager,
we'd been talking to a 17 year old for a month and a half.
So I bet you communications with this guy were like kind of weird,
like a little bit off insane,
you know?
And like you,
and you wouldn't hear from him between like eight and three because he was
at school.
Also did.
I would assume none of these women met him then,
because if you meet a teenager,
you still don't know him.
You certainly don't think,
well,
that's an investment expert.
I think that some of these women probably did meet him.
Or you're just like,
it's a whiz kid,
you know?
I don't know.
Yeah.
I mean,
who knows?
Who knows?
And was Dejan in the Bay area doing this or was he all over?
He was,
but they were arrested in Idaho,
I believe.
So he crossed state lines,
which is why this then became a federal case.
Okay.
Because he was allegedly doing this scheme across multiple states.
Okay.
And,
and,
and if you look at there's been,
I feel like by the hour,
there has been more clips of his scheme of him pretending to be a
49ers player and watching his footwork.
I am no football scout.
However,
that footwork.
And I said this in my newsletter looks like the footwork I would
do warming up for volleyball,
just doing some like plyometrics.
That's to me what it reminds me of.
Oh,
here,
I can pull it up for you.
Can I put it in here?
Where is it?
Here we go.
Okay.
Here I'm watching.
I'm pulling it up for Charlotte.
Oh my God.
He has no rhythm,
no speed.
He is moving like I would,
and he can barely catch the football.
Wait,
that is so funny.
I think this is that he's doing the either grapevine or karaoke where,
you know,
you put,
and he looks a mess.
Yes.
He looks a mess.
Um,
he also would wear 49ers gear,
which sure.
Yeah.
You could buy that online.
Um,
but he's often just kind of like taking photos while you're just holding the
helmet in front of expensive cars.
So there's that.
Um,
my favorite thing though,
was that he one time got a 49ers themed birthday cake with his name on the
cake with the number seven.
So let's see a fake Jersey cake,
49ers roster.
I'm just going to pull this up.
Um,
cause you can do it by numbers.
Number seven on the 49ers is a wide receiver named Deshaun Stribling.
So it's just interesting to me.
I understand that everybody involved in this was getting scammed,
right?
I might've Googled it.
Well,
I might've Googled Deshaun love number seven.
Well,
so it seems like he also correct.
I always wonder in these situations,
these are victims for sure,
but how you can fall.
For this,
when you can Google a roster to your point,
I think he was making up excuses of like,
Oh,
I signed like a,
I had a different type of contract.
He also posted a video of him signing an NFL contract.
That was only like seven pages,
which I think they're longer and they're probably a docu-sign.
I don't think people are printing them out anymore.
I don't think so.
I think it's a docu-sign.
So yeah,
I agree with you.
It's like,
but how is this happening?
Having said that,
I do think that there are,
there are,
there are always ways a manipulative person can manipulate and lie and have
people believe them because if you get someone's trust,
the whole reason these scams can work is even if it's going off,
there are alarm bells in your head.
You're like,
well,
but I trust this person and you don't listen to yourself.
Right.
Which is what happened in the case of the alleged victim that I spoke
with over DMS.
She has been running an Instagram account since 2024,
which you can find posted on Instagram.
Posting evidence of him scamming these other women.
Like you can go look crazy when viral.
And I found her and spoke with her over DMS.
Uh,
according to her,
she met him in 2023 and it was not over a dating app,
which was a common way that he had been in meeting.
These women was on dating apps and setting up fake profiles.
She apparently met him in person.
She didn't clarify where she said it was at her workplace.
Don't know where that was.
Um,
and said that how the scam allegedly worked with her,
was that she needed help moving or relocating.
And he basically was like,
don't worry,
I'll help you out.
Essentially give me some money and I'll help you get a new apartment.
And then just,
she realized over time there was no apartment.
Was it,
was it under the guise of investments?
No,
I,
it was under the guise of helping him the money and he would figure it
out for her.
Right.
Essentially.
And then she confronted him about it.
And then the relationship reportedly lasted five months or their communication
did so off.
Um,
and then after that happened,
she got connected with,
um,
another victim.
And then that's when she had started posting.
She had said in the interview that there was another woman who had been
posting online.
I don't know who that was.
Yeah.
Um,
and then like the account originally only had like a hundred people
following it,
but it was people who were allegedly his victim.
So clearly,
I mean,
we don't know for sure,
but I mean,
based on also what the FBI said,
they think there are many more victims.
Yeah.
Um,
and the,
she had gone to the police and the police was like,
well,
because this is going across multiple States,
like you need to,
I guess there's some form you could submit with the FBI.
I think I'm no doctor criminal complain or something.
And so that is still in the bio on this account,
which you can see in my newsletter.
Um,
but like,
it sounds like this is just a huge case and there are
probably so many more victims than even what the FBI,
FBI,
FBI found.
That's crazy.
So no,
it is a completely insane case.
I guess part of the reason I'm almost surprised.
It doesn't happen more.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because when you think about it,
the NFL,
especially these are players,
they're always wearing helmets.
It is hard to identify.
Like if you're watching a game,
you can't see everyone on the bench all the time.
You could very easily,
there's all this gear available.
If you look like an athletic person,
like you can't,
it would be much harder to fake being an NBA player.
Yes,
because NBA players,
there are fewer of them.
They are insanely athletic and they are all super tall,
right?
If you're,
you can be an NFL player,
who's like five,
10 and you,
you know,
you can say you're like a practice squad wide receiver and someone,
why would someone not believe you?
Like you don't,
there is no ideal.
Like you can't be,
you know,
you can't be short and thin and say you're a linebacker,
but you could say you're a long snapper.
You could be a kicker.
Like there are so many ways that you actually could pretend and then probably convince some people that you're an NFL player.
Then I'm kind of shocked we don't see it happening more.
I guess maybe it is given how effective this was and maybe it is happening and it's just hard to prosecute.
I guess I'm no doctor.
Look,
we're not on SVU,
but it seems like this man also has allegedly been scamming women for years.
Like I saw people talking online of like their evidence of this even before like 2023.
So who knows how long this man has been scamming such as such a psychotic thing to do.
Crazy.
It's crazy.
It's so,
like also it feels like the personality trait of like the narcissism and potential,
like not to armchair diagnose,
but like a sociopath or someone where you have the hubris to think you won't get caught.
Yeah.
Also,
women talk to each other,
right?
It's one thing we're very good at doing,
right?
Women chat,
women chat.
We're very good at chatting.
They're making Instagram accounts.
Like people are chatting.
It's only a matter of time.
It's only a matter of time before you get it is funny.
His last name is love.
Yeah.
I wonder if he was like,
my brother is,
uh,
Jordan love,
maybe quarterback for the Packers.
He probably said they're related somehow.
I'm sure I would have.
Yeah.
Not that I would scam people now,
but if you put yourself into the mind of a criminal,
Oh,
what does that CSI criminal minds or something?
Never seen it.
Never seen it.
But I think they got in the minds of the criminals.
We see the ads,
see them or used to.
Yeah.
I don't know if it's still on.
It was to say,
it's tough to know.
Anyways,
we will probably get more information about the story.
As it continues to unfold.
And it goes to trial at some point in the future,
or maybe they'll plead guilty.
I have an idea.
What I'll tell you after.
Okay.
Teasing the biz.
Oh,
all right.
All right.
Well,
should we stop?
No,
let's end.
Should we end on?
Yeah.
Take it away.
Take it away.
All right.
Joshua Kushner,
the guy we talked about last week who tried to buy,
I mean,
is buying,
buying the Lakers with a former Disney CEO.
CEO, Bob Iger. Yeah. He's also the brother of Jared Kushner, who is married, who is Trump's
son-in-law. Um, and he's married to Carly Kloss, a lot of connections. So Josh Kushner, he's an
investor and Thrive Capital. Um, they developed an arm of his investment company called Thrive
Eternal, and they were going to be, uh, the main buyer of the piece of FIFA that FIFA president
Johnny Infantino was trying to sell. Yeah. And he apparently didn't read the room, Madeline.
Oh, he definitely didn't read the room. The soccer bodies around the world said, nope,
no thanks, no thanks. Um, and it fell apart and didn't happen. And it probably never should have
even been an idea. No, never should have been an idea. Anyways, Joshua Kushner, um, has spoken
out about that. Um, and he said, quote, while we stand behind the motivations of FFE, which was
this, it was called football.
Something enterprise. I can't remember what it was called. Um, we failed to appreciate the
political dynamics of global football and the length some would go to thrive has a long track
record of being a partner to all constituents. Had we known that this, what this would devolve
into, we would not have gotten involved, which I read this. And my first thought was,
so you didn't do your homework and you didn't do the reading. No, what you, you didn't,
you didn't write it. You didn't write it. You didn't write it. I mean, you didn't do your homework.
I mean, you don't have to be the biggest soccer fan to understand how political soccer is around
the world. And also how important it is. It's like, it's like if you said, um, you know,
we didn't understand how important food was to most people. Right. We really, we really
miscalculated on that. We missed the mark. Football, soccer is the thing that the most,
the sports thing that the most people in the entire world care about. Right. And as you said,
it's political. It is these nations competing against each other. And also there is, I think,
a feeling of like FIFA is so corrupt, but it also, the reason people care that it's corrupt
is because there is a sanctity to it about the, about being the governing body of, um, your
country's national team. Yeah. Like that's what, that's the pride. That's the, the,
the nationalism. And, and Jared Kushner knows so little about sports that he thought he could
waltz on in and buy some of it. Like what planet are you living on bro? Like Mars with Elon? What
are we doing? Well, it feels to me just an indication and a nice lesson in money can only
get you so far, you know, he is buying the Lakers. So yes, money is getting him to buy the Lakers,
but you can't buy culture. You may try to,
but you will probably fail. Yeah. And I feel like this statement is maybe him somewhat realizing
that, that your money can only take you so far, even if you have a lot of it.
Totally agree. One thing I really don't appreciate about this statement. He said,
we failed to appreciate the political dynamics of global football, which is a good first,
an insane thing to say out loud and the lengths some would go to that feels like accusing people
of trying to tank his little pet project. Yes. The lengths some would go to, do you mean UEFA?
Like the European governing body? Do you mean CONCACAF? Do you mean, do you mean all of,
do you mean all of soccer? What are you talking about? The lengths some would go to, it's not
like, you know, someone foiled your plan to buy a Brownstone. No. Well, it's, it feels like a very,
how dare you kind of tread on my money pile. Yeah. I have money and I should be able to use it for
whatever I want. How dare you? Yeah. How dare you? Yeah. I have money
I have money and I should be able to use it for whatever I want. How dare you try to prevent me
from using my money? I am smarter than you. I have money. I have a health insurance company
that denies a lot of claims. How dare you? How dare you? What say ye? How dare ye? Me thinks.
Me thinks. So yeah. So anyway, I think we just nailed that one. That was great. I don't have
anything else to say about that. No, I don't either. All right. Well, well, that's our show.
We have a very exciting episode coming out Thursday. Yes.
I think that people are going to be a fan. People are going to be very excited about it.
People are going to like this. They'll like it. You're going to like the way you look.

FAQs
A man named Dejan Love and his 18-year-old co-conspirator, Taylor Chan, allegedly defrauded at least 26 women of $1.3 million by posing as fake 49ers players or real estate investors. They used fake profiles, fake contracts, and fake birthday cakes to build trust and solicit money.
Yes, they began working together when Taylor was 14, and Dejan was 31. The case raises concerns about whether an adult, possibly Taylor’s father, was involved in the scam, though no such individual has been arrested yet.
The perpetrators posed as NFL players or investors, offering help with relocation or investments. Victims, often women, were promised financial or housing support and eventually lost money, with some realizing the scam after months of contact.
The scam involved a significant age gap between the offenders and the victims, and the use of fake NFL gear and documents, including a fake contract and a 49ers-themed birthday cake with a fake jersey number, made it particularly deceptive.
The cake had the number 7, which corresponds to Deshaun Watson, a 49ers wide receiver, not a real player. This detail was used to highlight the scam’s authenticity and the perpetrators’ effort to appear credible.
Yes, a victim shared her story on Instagram, indicating there are likely many more cases than the FBI has confirmed, and some victims have since started sharing details online.
