To Every Man an Answer 9/4/2026

This live apologetics program, hosted by Mike Kessler, addresses key biblical questions and challenges common misconceptions about Christian living. Guests emphasize that while salvation is by faith in Christ alone, believers are actively called to live righteously through good works, which please God and reflect a life of faith. The discussion highlights how sin is resisted not by perfection but by removing its avenues—such as avoiding alcohol or harmful people—and through accountability in a Christian community. Biblical passages from 2 Corinthians, Titus, Ephesians, and Job are used to show that suffering is real, God is compassionate, and the Christian life involves both personal growth and communal support. The program also explores theological points like Paul’s 14-year study period after conversion, the meaning of the Trinity in Isaiah 9:6, and the significance of the temple vision in Ezekiel as a future millennial structure. It concludes with a strong call to fellowship, accountability, and trust in God’s plan, especially during times of loss or suffering. Questions from listeners on topics like Cain’s wife, the Trinity, and the future of Israel are addressed, with clear biblical reasoning and caution against speculative or doctrinal distortions. The message is one of hope, faith, and practical application of Scripture to everyday life.

Joining me today, special guest, featured CSN speaker that comes on right before to every man and answer Mike Fibarras from Compass Bible Church in Alisha, VA, California, double cycle many. His program is also on Saturdays at 8 p.m. mountain time. Hi and welcome, Mike. Hi, Mike. Great to be with you on this Friday. And so many things going on in the world. And wow, Mike, what's going on this Sunday at Compass Bible Church? Well, we're going to continue to preach the Word, and we're going to talk this weekend about a passage that our world desperately needs. And it's certainly something that is fundamental. It's so fundamental, I think people miss it. I'm preaching in a passage in 2 Corinthians chapter 13 that basically the Apostle Paul is saying the point of the Christian life in terms of our sanctification is that we don't do wrong things and that we do the right things and that we try to do all that we do for the truth and never against the truth. And it's just funny how today we try as best we can. It seems to sidestep the obvious teaching of Scripture that God has called us to walk in a series of good works that he's prepared beforehand for us to walk in. I mean, he wants us to do what is good. Jesus went about doing good things. And sometimes we think for some reason because we're not saved by our good works that we shouldn't purpose to do what is good. And we see our world full of so many bad things. And people doing so many bad things, we're supposed to be light, we're supposed to be salt, and Christians of all people should be committed and resolved to doing what is good. Matter of fact, the passages like Titus chapter 3 or Ephesians chapter 2, all the passages we often quote about not being saved by works, they're immediately followed up with the fact that they were not saved by any good works. We certainly are called to do good works, to commit ourselves to doing good. It pleases the Lord, it's a good thing, and it does what's best for society, for our families, for our churches. And so it's just to be a good reminder, I hope, for our congregation. And then, of course, later for the CSN families, they hear this sermon coming up down the road. Amen. I hope that, yeah, I hope that if you're in the area, I hope you can stop by and be sure to say, Mike, I listen to you on the radio, we always are blessed by that. When people, either that or, of course, video wise on FaceTime, some of the other things that are out there where different formats were on, it's always a blessing to meet our listening audience. And even the southern Idaho area, I'd like to invite you to church this Sunday. River Christian fellowship, as we continue to study God's Word together, and so I just want to invite you, starts at 10 o'clock in person, 1030 on the radio, if you're unable to make it in person, and we'll study God's Word together. Well, to the phones we go, we go 88, 88, as CSN is the number to call. Miguel, in North Folk, Nebraska. Hi, welcome. Hey, Masters, how are you? Just enjoy it. Just wanted to say quick, I enjoy listening to you guys all the time. I guess it's the only radio station I listen to. I was calling. I heard earlier a comment, but it's in regards to Matthew 1314. Enter through the gate for why does the gate and broad is the road to leads to destruction. And many enter through it, but small is the gate and narrowed the road that leads to life, but if you will find it. So I heard somebody say this morning on my way to work, that some Christians, even though you have put your faith in God and you follow Him, that not every Christian will make it through the gate. Can I just get some context on that? Yeah, no, I believe if you're a Christian, your faith is in Him. Hey, we're all on a process of growing. I believe these verses, and again, like you find Matthew 714, because the narrow is the gate and difficult. The way that leads to life, there are few who find it. This is even exemplified in rock and roll music. ACDC years ago wrote a song called "High Way to Hell." Led Zeppelin wrote a song called "Stairway to Heaven." Evidently, they were anticipating the travel on both roads. Well, when we really look at it, the way of righteousness does not fit an old sinful lifestyle, and does not fit a body bent on sinning, and that's what our bodies are. They're corrupted. It's not to become born again. Does God make that change your thoughts? Yeah, I absolutely agree. The Bible is very clear for really a Christian, and someone might have been using that phrase loosely, like someone who professes to be a Christian, but it's not really a Christian. But if anyone is in Christ, I'll just quote Romans chapter 8 verse 1. There is no condemnation for that person. And some bear fruit 30, some 60, some 100 fold. There's a whole different kinds of Christians out there. But when you talk about a few or those who find it, we're talking about the mass of humanity. It is a few compared to the whole of the population of the world. But we're not talking about looking at a church and saying, "Oh, it's just a few of the people that go to that church that profess Christ." No, if they're Christians, the really Christians, every last Christian in that church is going to make it because they're trusting in Jesus Christ for salvation. So it's all about your reference point. And the reference point that Jesus is talking about is the world. Everyone in the world that I share the gospel with, just about everyone I would think. I can't think of a single exception. Everyone thinks they're good with God. They think at the end of their life they're going to march right into heaven. If there is one, that's how they think. And of course, they're wrong because the way is broad. And that gate is wide that leads to destruction and many are those who inner buy it. So just like, you know, ACDC, as Mike said, they're on a highway to a place that a lot of people may be willing to admit. But I bet even if you've got those rock stars and pulled them aside and you really talk to them about a lot of them would say, "Yeah, that's a song, but I think I'm a good guy." And I'll probably be okay at the end of my life. That's how most people are. And in that regard, yeah, there are very few in this world that are truly trusting in Christ. Because all those who trust in Christ are going to be saved. Amen. Miguel, I hope that helps. Yes. Thank you guys very much. Yeah, you know, you were enlightening yourself. You guys enlighten me a lot. Well, thank you. Yeah, you know, you look at people in the Bible who came to Christ. And all the. I mean, look at Peter when he came to Christ. I mean, he's the original Ready Shoot Aim Guy. Instead of Ready Aim Shoot, he's Ready Shoot Aim. He was always saying and doing goofy things. And yet Jesus loved him dearly. And we find, first and second, Peter in the Bible, God doesn't give up on people like we do as humans. And I'm very grateful for that. And some people, just as you said, Mike, 30, 60, 100 fold, some really get it. And, you know, 100 fold is not enough. They want a thousand fold or 10,000 fold. You know, we want to do what we can do for God while we can do it. And others go, "Well, you know, Lord, thank you for salvation." And, you know, I share you with my kids or whatever. Not everybody has the same zeal. The Bible talks about those that have been forgiven much, love much. Because you realize how far you'd fall. And in how far God dug out of the pit. And so I think there are absolutely things in our life, even before we're Christians, that help motivate us into being a better servant of God. So, hope that helps. And God bless you. Thanks so much for the call. Let's go to Tina, Arizona. Hi. Hi. How can we help Tina? Well, I'm struggling. I'm a believer. I've been a believer forever. And I lost my husband to leukemia. And I'm really disappointed in myself because I feel like a keep returning to the same bad habit. And I guess I don't really understand that. Like, why I'm a believer? [BLANK_AUDIO] do I keep going to the, you know, the dog's vomit? - Well, you know the Bible says resist the devil and it'll flee from you. And I think a lot of times in our Christian experience, we get to the point where we think, well, you know, I don't have to resist that much. And so the Bible tells us that we need to head off sin before it hits us. And I always tell people, if you have trouble smoking, don't buy him. If you have trouble drinking, don't buy it. If you have trouble with a certain person or groups of people, don't go there. Don't go there and say, oh, well, you know, God, I'll just be strong and all, you know. No, stay away from that stuff. You know, there's an old saying, I got my arm broken, five places. Well, then stay out of those kind of places. Mike, your thoughts. - Yeah, well, like you said, Mike earlier, you know, Peter was the one who he's ready, shoot, and aim. And sometimes he was so disappointed in himself. I think if him going out and weeping bitterly in Matthew 26, he was disappointed in himself. So being disappointed in ourselves because we stumble is not unique. But it's what we do about it. And you said it well, we have to cut off these avenues of sin. And that reminds me of Romans 13, the very last verse, which says, make no provision for the flesh to gratify its desire. So whatever our weakness is, Mike said it well, we just got to make sure we cut it off, right? You should have no alcohol in your house. If that's a problem or no smokes in your house, whatever it is that's becoming an addiction to you, whatever it is that you're running to instead of the Lord, take those things out of your orbit so it's never a temptation for you. And then, as the Bible says, we need to gather together and strengthen one another so that people can spur us on to love and good deeds. That's what we need when we're struggling. We need the body of Christ. And I hope you have a church that's open more than once a week. And the doors are open and people are gathering and they're having times together, singing God's truth in good worship songs and studying God's Word. That's where you're gonna get pushed and shaped and sharpened to be the kind of Christian that can walk the Christian life faithfully. And by ourselves, we struggle. And so don't be yourself up too badly. Just repent of what you have known that you've failed at and then get with other Christians, and even confess your sins to one another as in James 5. And then get with that fellowship of sisters in Christ, Tina, and say, I need help, I need accountability, and I wanna walk in righteousness and faithfulness. And God is gonna provide what you need. He really will. It's just changing your environment and don't forget what Mike said. It's really important. And Romans 13 says it make no provision for the flesh. Whatever it is, make sure you have no avenue to get there. You gotta cut those things out of your life if you keep going back. Like you said, the dog to its vomit. We wanna make sure there's no path to get there. And I think accountability can help you. - So I hope that helps. And Tina, I found that a lot of people drink for several reasons. One, to escape. Number two, they feel that if you get modified, people will like you. If you get modified, you'll like yourself. And when you realize God loves you, the way you are, we live in a fallen world. These things that happen to you and all of us, loved ones dying, spouses dying, you know, there's a big world that they've had the same thing happen to them. And what they're looking for is somebody to help them navigate out of the sorrow. Do you know when God made men in our app, if you will, like on a phone, there wasn't an app to deal with death. When God made men, there was no death. In fact, the Bible says, when you eat at a tree, that's when you'll die. So part of our makeup is not to be able to deal with death. And the only way we deal with death is that's an app God gives us in Christ Jesus. As Peter says, casting all your cares upon him, he cares for you. And we have a different perception of death than the way the world does. We don't grieve the way the world does. David said in Psalm 23, yay. Though I go through the valley of the shadow of death. Not real death like the world sees it. We go through the shadow of death because it's not the same. The world has real death. We just have a shadow of it. We see its effect, but you see worry, eternal beings. And I believe that these things were never meant by God in your life to destroy you or hurt you. But I believe these things are part of a fallen world and also for us to be someone that goes and ministers and bandages up the broken hearts that are around us. And that's why I think as Mike said, you really want him being a fellowship because you have a lot to give to you. You really do because that app that God gives us, how to deal with death, originally not within man. But Jesus, when we become born again, puts that into us. And again, as Peter said, casting all your cares upon him, he cares for you. So there's really no room for alternative lifestyles, drinking, crowds, and all those things. I believe what it really comes back to is that God would use our testimony to help others out of the darkness they're in. Tina, I hope that helps. - Yes, thank you so much. - Well, Tina, stay online, send you a little book. I think you might enjoy it called Time to Grow and might encourage you. And I really, and Mike, both of us want to really encourage you, get into a fellowship there where you're at that loves Jesus, that adores his word. And that's going to help you. When you feel like you're all alone and that's one of a lot, most people drink when they feel they're alone. And you don't have to be alone. You need a friend and you feel like drinking, you call your friend up, hey, let's go do something or, you know, tell me about growing up, what was it like, or whatever. You get rid of the loneliness and then the urge to drink goes away because the thing is, it's an artificial companion. That's what alcohol always is. You know, the Bible says wine is a marker, Psalms 20. Wine is a marker, strong drink is raging. And people who are deceived by it are not wise. Do you know, I think much more of you that you are wise and that we just simply arm ourselves with God's word? If you stay in the line, we'll get that out to you, okay? - Thank you so much. - God bless you, dear. And we will get that to you. And with that, we will go to Ed in NEPA. Oh, my boy, see, I welcome. - Hello. - Hi, Ed, how can we help? Reading through the book of Job, can you tell me what happened to Elihu? I know at the end of the book, the three friends got scolded and Job and was instructed to go to Job to have Job pray for them. But nothing was said about Elihu and I was just wondering if I missed something. - Okay, my dear thoughts. - Yeah, no, that's a great observation, Ed. 100% great observation because he is not condemned by God and he's not told to seek the intercession of Job. You got to remember too, he's brought onto the scene as the youngest of them, right? The other three friends were older. He does say some things, obviously, that are very true, right? It's not that he doesn't confront Job. He has some confrontation there, but one thing that struck me, I was just rereading the book of Job, it struck me that the thing he says at the very end of his speech to Job sets up what God says about speaking to him out of the whirlwind. So it's almost as though God uses what Elihu says to do what he does in confronting Job. So there is truth, it's almost as though God himself accommodates a lot of what Elihu says. There is some truth to his statements about suffering being instructive and that it can be prevented, which again, all three friends said that, but he's saying you can't judge God for allowing judgment. So there are several things that he says are true, and I think even maybe because of his youth, he's not held to the stricter standards of the other three friends. And God seems to treat him with a little bit more favor because he steps on the scene at the very end, having held his tongue for a long time. And yeah, you've made the observation that all of us have to make. He's not condemned with the other three friends. - Yeah, and if you look at Job 32, it says 32-1, it says, "So these three men ceased answering "because he was righteous in his own eyes." This is speaking of these guys. And it says that Elihu became angry with these counselors of Job. And also it says, "And against his three friends, "his wrath, Elihu's wrath was aroused "because they had found no answer, "yet they had condemned Job." So it seems Joe, live out of the world, of these foreign-named, photospeed counselors, he was the one that was really upset with these threes counseling in some way blaming Job for what had come upon him. And so I thought that was kind of interesting because you look at this because the others were very condescending, Mike, because you know, it was, well, what have you done? You know, just, you know, it's really bad because what we see here is we need to be very careful when, when trouble befalls somebody, what did you do wrong? Oh, you know, well, not always. And again, you know, the, you know, beware when all men speak well of you. You know, you know, the trials of the righteous are many. Many last thoughts on this because I think it's important because he was, according to chapter 32, he was considerably different than the other three of Job's buddies. No, that's true. And here's, here's what we should all see as the big picture in Job. God defends Job at the end of the book, but that does not mean that everything Job said was good and righteous. It just wasn't, right? I mean, he was cursing the day of his birth. I mean, he was really demanding that God sit in the, in the judgment box that he can call him on trial. So he's a righteous man. He's the most righteous man in his generation. But it doesn't mean that he didn't say some things he shouldn't have said. And in Job 34, Ilahou says some things that seem like, you know, he's, he's kind of leaning in to a little bit of correction on, on Job. And that's where you feel like, okay, God, let's them off the hook for that because maybe some of it was earned because he does justify himself before his three friends. And yet the three friends, they, like Mike said, they were just saying, oh, there got to be secrets in your life somewhere. You did something wrong. And it was not, it was not an appropriate response. And when Job says, miserable comfortors are you all, certainly that was true. Now Ilahou had a little bit more wisdom. And he said things many that were correct. And yet he does confront Job and God gives him a pass. And he also gives Job a pass for some of the things that he said out of his great pain. To me, one of the great things about the book of Job is God shows himself to be very compassionate because he doesn't go and take Job to task with every little thing that he said because he did say some things that were over the top. He did say some things that were like, oh, that's, it's like Elijah. You know, like I'm the last guy here in Israel, no one's, you know, I'm the last one. I'm the only guy. You see the emotion of Job, like the emotion of Elijah and you realize God understands us. He understands us. And when Christ comes, that's one of the great things about our great high priest. He really understands humanity in a way just by walking in our shoes, so to speak. So yeah, I think there's a lot going on here. It's very nuanced in the sense that yes, he's correcting Job. Maybe there are some things that he shouldn't have said, and yet God doesn't confront him for it. Job said some things he shouldn't have said and God doesn't confront him for that. At the end, though, notice how God has Job's back. If he weren't to intercede for those three friends, right? What does God say? I'm going to judge them, but he graciously Job does praise for his friends and God forgives him. It's an amazing book. And it's filled with real life, emotion, real life, suffering, and you know, the lines are like they are in real life, right? We don't always do the right thing, even as as people that make a claim to Godliness. I like what Elah who says in 32 again, talking to these older, so to speak, counselors that Job have, this is what he says, and this is in verse six, "I am young in years and you are old. Therefore, I was afraid and dare not declare my opinion to you. I said age should speak and teach wisdom. But there's a spirit of a man and the breath of him. The Almighty gives him understanding." Then this is the home run hit here. Great men are not always wise nor do aged men always understand justice. Very true. And I hope that helps. Yeah and a quick note, had a great time last weekend at our… Yes. For Treasure Valley's first men's conference. Yes, John Randall was wonderful. John Randall was part of it and what a great time there in Treasure Valley to have a great men's conference, really good, John was so excited he told me he had such a great time. Anyway, well good, had good to hear from you and God bless him. Maybe we'll be seeing you guys next year. Yeah, amen. Amen. We have our hands full, but no, we always like coming, so let us know. God bless you, Ed. Let's go to Jim in Lakeview, Oregon. I welcome. Hello, Mike and Mike, I thank you so much for your powerful, clear words, strong, biblical. I just love it. Both of you have provided so much rich food. Your audience is thanking you. My question is from the pulpit that Paul, when he was blind and recovered and accepted Christ, that he had went somewhere and studied for up to 14 years before he began his upbringing in the gospel to everyone, and I don't know if I've never found that in the Bible, I don't know if that's biblical or extra biblical, if that's true. Could you help me with that? Yeah, it is true and the thing you have to remember is Paul was schooled by Camelia, very aware of Scripture, knew and understood Jewish law, understood the Old Testament principles, and he was a zealot against Christ because he felt that Christ was offering a different way of salvation and he was. You see, the Bible tells us that the law was a schoolmaster that brought us to Christ is what Paul says. So now we find him being taught by God via the Holy Spirit for these number of years and reconciling that really in the Old Testament, Jesus was there all along. You have that music, that means we're coming up on a break, Mike, your thoughts after the break is so important on this one and we'll be right back right after this. This year, America celebrates its 250th birthday, two and a half centuries of courage, innovation, faith and freedom, but what will the next 250 years hold? The next generation could hold the next Billy Graham, the next Rosa Parks, the next Ronald Reagan, the next child whose life will impact generations. But first, they must be given the chance to live. I couldn't imagine my life without him because of them, he's here. We're going to get through it and it's going to be okay. Every day, pre-born network clinics help mothers facing unexpected pregnancies discover hope through a free ultrasound when a mother sees her baby and hears that tiny heartbeat. Her baby is twice as likely to be given the gift of life. Which story will you help write for the next generation? To learn more about pre-born's life saving work, call pound 250 and say the keyword baby that's pound 250, baby, or go to preborn.com/csn, that's preborn.com/csn. I'm Brad and her name is Sherry. Hello, she's a friend of mine and we were just praying for because of a surgery she just went through. Yes, and I am very happy about something. You actually talk about all the time, which is that is right. Yeah, so what was your experience like with Medicare and health care ability? Honestly, Grant Seamless and what a blessing that is when you're already nervous about a health issue, which I was. Members shared my expenses, there were zero problems and let me tell you, having people pray with you when you call in with your need, that is just perfect. Yes, refreshing. Yes, that's what it is. Like I keep telling people, people love Medicare and they love saving tons of money too. The typical family can save $500 a month. I am very thankful for Medicare. It is so different and I mean different in a very, very good way. It is good, different. Call now. They're easy to talk to and you can get a price within two minutes. 855-91 Bible, that's 855-91 Bible, 855-91 Bible. And we want to welcome you back to Part 2. Thank you very much for your time, everyone. Once again, I want to invite you to the Twin Falls County Fair, be sure to stop by our booth out there. We have CSN and the Effect Radio booth out there giving away a lot of stuff, visiting with people, sharing the Lord with people, it's just such a great time to go. So, if you're in the north. Nevada and the southern Idaho area. I know we'd love to see it there. Be sure to stop by. I'll be there tonight as well as so many of the people here that and so we just want to invite you to come by and right there on the main fairway you'll find us and just have a good time in the Lord tonight with us and so I check that out. It goes till Memorial Day or excuse me that be a long fair. It goes till Labor Day and so on Monday and so anyway. I'd love to see you if you come by and again I'd love to see you here at church and I know Mike would love to see you there at Compass Bible Church in Alicia Viejo in San Clemente so if you're somebody be sure to say hi you heard us on the radio so he's a blessing. When we went to the break we had Jim on the line asking about did Paul study the gospel before he went out to do ministry some 13 years or more your thoughts Mike? Your Mike's not on. Sorry about that Mike. Yeah there are two time references given to us in the book of Galatians. One of them is in Galatians chapter 1 verse 18 when it talks about the fact that when he got saved remember he was taken to Damascus he was heading up there to persecute Christians but instead he becomes a Christian and then he's there in Damascus and he's going in and out of the Northern Arabian desert. Now I know that's up in Syria and Syria but the Arabian desert is said to on a map go all the way up to adjacent to Damascus and so he went out into the desert and what's going on there he in context is is learning the gospel and we're assuming we're filling in some gaps in our thinking but we're assuming he's actually learning from Christ because he says elsewhere to even the Corinthians that he's seen Christ he's been with Christ he says to the Galatians that himself he's learned the gospel from Christ the other references in chapter 2 verse 1 where it says then after 14 years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas so there's your 14 year reference so three years before he went to Jerusalem then it says after 14 years now the debate about that 14 years is is that 14 years from your conversion or is that 14 years from going up to Jerusalem the first time and I think maybe the best time chronology as I just got done studying and teaching through Acts I probably is from his conversion so you can take off three years maybe 11 or 12 years after his first trip to Jerusalem because it was three years before he went to Jerusalem after his conversion but it's it's debatable it could have been 14 years after the three years so then of course you know it would have been 17 years but I think it fits the time frame better to say 14 years after his conversion so there's where you get those numbers and I don't think the 14 years is a study period the three years is probably definitely a study period God basically puts them to seminary in the desert now of course he's going in and out of Damascus and teaching in the synagogues and he's by the time he goes with Barnabas down to Jerusalem he's already powerful in the scriptures and he's known for defending the gospel so the 14 years is just giving the time frame between the time he was saved or gone to Jerusalem the first time and now where he's talking about the time he goes to Jerusalem probably for the Jerusalem council in in Acts 15 so Jim that's where those time frames come from it's not extra biblical it's just you don't find them in the book of Acts you find them over there in the book of Galatians yeah and and so I don't believe it was 14 years it would be a long time to be just out in the desert being studying but but we definitely know that the Lord had revealed him great wonderful things and mysteries the Bible says as well and this is where he really zooms in on the rapture of the church and I think that's very very important when we look that the idea of the rapture is not a new idea of God supernaturally moving people around for we find this with Enoch who walked with God and was taken Elijah taken up in a whirlwind like a fiery chariot we know that God can do this we remember that he that fill up baptized the Ethiopian eunuch out in the desert and when they came up out of the water God snatched him away and he was found over in Arizona on the coast so God supernaturally moving people around is not a new concept that some people try to say well because the early church Thessalonica thought that the Lord had already come so these people that say oh this was a theory by Darby in 1850 they simply haven't spent any time really studying the scripture because had they done so they would have known that Paul had to calm them down saying no that time will not come he gave some some prerequisites that's going to happen before the Lord takes his church home and the other thing that we find to substantiating it is in the book of Revelation chapters three and four we find the church we find the church in heaven chapters four and five but never again on the earth till he comes back with his church in chapter 19 during the tribulation period you find the saints and you find the elect but you never find the church very important and in fact so much that John did not recognize those martyrs in chapter six of Revelation but he never had trouble finding the church ever who are these he was asked he goes I don't know these are the ones the martyrs that came up out of the great tribulation and there would be more it says there in chapter six is really chapter six deals with the first part of the tribulation period and so John did not recognize who these people were but he always recognized the church and also the attitude of the letter is so much different in those you know when you read Acts the rest of the the New Testament you know it's always a personal touch there love one another be kind one another I'm taking up a collection for these people it's always a personal thing you don't find that in Revelation you find in Revelation something completely different it isn't the warmness of the church that you find you find global martyrdom for their faith in Jesus Christ and the Bible says specifically by beheading huh what religion today globally beheads people well I'll let you think that a little bit about because I think that's also important for all of us to remember Jim hope that helps is the best you guys are so wonderful thank you God bless you God's good and then lying Jim you feel like some of your little bit of time to grow you might enjoy that and let's go to Aina in Napa Idaho I welcome Ben are you there Mia Mia Mia yes hi thank you so much gentlemen for taking my call I just always had a question about the Trinity and in Isaiah Isaiah 9/6 Jesus is referred to as wonderful counselor mighty God everlasting Father Prince of Peace and I just you know thought that the Trinity they're they're each a distinct person you know the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit so I'm just curious as to how to understand that of how he's referred to as the Father okay your thoughts yes it's just like the word king sometimes the word Father is not referencing the the persons of the Trinity as it is in that case we're just talking about the fact that he is the paternal leader of all of mankind he's going to be he's going to be the dad if you will of everyone he's the counselor like you would say in a political sense of the legal the legal top tier person of the entire world he's he's the Elohim the God of all so this is not trying to utilize the word Father of in Hebrew to try and recognize him in distinction to the persons of the Trinity and this is one passage where you have to recognize how he's being described the government will rest upon his shoulders and extent of his government there'll be no end we're talking about the relationship of this child that's being born as he speaks to his authority over the peoples and in that sense he's the top he's the top so I hope that helps yes thank you so much I appreciate it all right here well good and like I say if you get any more questions be sure to call us we're here for you let's go to Jody in Port Angeles Washington hi welcome hi how are you thank you so much well Jody we're glad you called how can we help oh yeah I love your show um okay so uh just a question that has probably been asked before um but I don't know the answer um so um Cain's wife um because it just seems that when he got kicked out of um when he kicked got kicked out of the land and went to the land of Nod and and met his wife um it was it was Cain was born first and then able and then Seth but there's no mention of anybody in between and so where did we're all the people that are referenced by you know God who says that he would be protected from whoever and and you know he was concerned that anyone who finds him will kill him so who are these other people and who was where did the wife come from? Well they were they were a relative by the way just something for everybody because I've had a lot of people ask this question but I always want to just redirect I don't know if you've ever been to a family reunion and here in just a span of maybe 40 50 years of a family reunion there are people in that circle I don't even know I and that's only in a 30 span period of time I was going to California one time and I was talking to a guy that was writing with me and we began to talk and I said yeah I said years ago my family some of our family members were in the worst automobile accident in Idaho history and this was back in the 50s and and he said well that happened in my family too and I said well and and he told me who they were I said you're my second cousin I didn't even know it and I thought how strange is that in just a period of five years or 10 years then you go to family reunion it's multiplied that much more than when you add in that people live to be almost a thousand years old we don't see everybody thinks it's it's it's so graphically linear like you know God made the heavens in the earth and six days on the seventh day rested on the eighth day Adam and Eve ate of the tree on the ninth day they got kicked out on the on the tenth day she had came and then you know then then the next day she had able and then they killed one another and then you know no this could be over literally a period of hundreds of years and in the amount of time Adam and Eve how many children and their children and their children could have had in just a short amount of time they estimate at the time of the flood that there is many people living on the earth at the time of the flood as there is right now based on the begats in the Bible and also based on the longevity of man before the flood your thoughts 100% if we have Adam and Eve right think about this now and everyone before the flood living into their 900s we have a gene pool that is healthy not being zapped you know by this the solar radiation whatever it is that's killing us off oxygen whatever it might be we've got a perfect environment right we've got babies being born like crazy and if you just do the math and I sat down one day and I did this because like you said Mike I get the question all the time you know if you have one generation 16 years you can have 16 children within 32 years you can have 256 children by one by the time you get to 80 years you could conceive ably with all these people having a fertility lasting into hundreds of years you can have over a million people already on the planet in less than a hundred years and if you do exponential math on this think about this you could have 16 million people right after a hundred years of people just continuing to be healthy and procreating so when Genesis chapter five verse four says you know Adam had other sons and daughters of course he did and they wouldn't as you said at a at a family reunion even know each other right there would be so many cousins and cousins and cousins and cousins yes there are villages that definitely came should have been very concerned about because there's plenty of people on this planet and like you said Mike we read the text sometimes and think you know we read it it happens in one hour we read the next verse that happened the next hour read the next chapter that happened the next day that's not how we should be reading it you know we don't put millions of years between verses obviously but these things took some time and remember these lives lasted for hundreds and hundreds of years I mean when we have their dates given they're living into the 800's 900 year period before the flood so yes there's lots and lots of children Genesis Genesis chapter five verse four Adam and Eve had lots and lots of children and there are plenty of people being born and they were probably fertile I would think into you know just do the math if a hundred year old person now right is fertile for the middle of their lives just take a thousand year old person their their their fertile in the middle of their lives you've got hundreds of years for each couple to be having kids and I think you've got a earth that's populating really I think about a thousand years I mean think about our country right we haven't been around for but just 250 years you could have a lot of people being born and I think you're absolutely right Mike the flood itself covering in the flood all this biologic material that's where all of our fossil fuels come from right all of this is showing that there were millions of people on this planet at the time of the flood and we're fueling our vehicles and our in our jet fuel by those those biological lives that it would that were buried in the flood so there were a lot of people on this planet even by the time Cain killed Abel and again this you know could have been over you know between the time Cain killed Abel and when he was banished you know God put a mark on him we don't know what the mark is the Mormon Church used to teach that God turned Cain black that is in the Book of Mormons that were made before I think 1955 then they cleverly because they got in trouble over this they modified the Book of Mormon and took out that the mark that God placed upon Cain that didn't turn in black but initially he was and this is why black people could not hold the priesthood in the Mormon Church and so very very concerning if I was a Mormon I would be very upset over them tampering with their own book to hide maybe what they really believe and if you're a Mormon and you're hearing me say this I'm not dissing on you I'm telling you there are tremendous problems when you go back into the history of of the Mormon Church and this mark that was placed upon Cain God turned him black that's what the Book of Mormon says but the new ones have all been scrubbed if you will and they do a good job picking them up whenever they see them in second-hand stores and things like this so people won't see how they tampered with their own book friends I don't say this with joy I say with the deepest concern that you can't really nearly start changing your doctrine to fit the venue and the climate of our world and then the IRS said that if you discriminate against any race color creed a color of a person you'll lose your 501 see through this same year the same year that they said that the IRS said that it was the same year that the Mormon Church said oh God's forgiven black people my question was well according to your doctrine why didn't they all turn white I mean isn't God's forgiveness complete just something that makes you go hmm and like I say I'm not I'm not go I look for all of us Mike you're the same way I am I am not here for church dogma what well my denomination believes I don't care what my delamination believes I don't I don't know if I have one but I do care what truth is and that's what art the the premise of this radio show is is truth and so when we see this and this mark that was placed upon Kane which is a little off your question Jody but still very important to address this what what was your thoughts on the mark that was put on Kane Mike I don't think I've ever asked you this yeah that's a really hard one you know there are so many mysterious discussions of God marking people right even in the in the future right we're talking about a name that's put on us that's not known but there was something clearly when you looked at him right he would be distinguished from other people and we don't know what that was but it was clearly something that people could say okay we see this and it's something that it's clearly setting him apart from other people so I'm assuming it's some kind of physical sign something that they could see some people think it's a deformity of some kind I don't know and I just you have to guess and it does leave open you know people's imagination and speculation and I I've never come to any conclusion as to what it could be so I hope that answers it for you Jody it was a little bit of a trip around the Mulberry Bush but something that I think we have to look at because again there are people that even gone so far to say well the you know there there was other people you know, Adam had another wife called Lilith, and he had a family with her. You have, you heard that one, Mike. - Say it again, Lilith? - Lilith, that Adam had two wives, Eve and Lilith, so. - Yeah, no, I have heard that, and I think, I don't wanna go out on a limb on this, but there are certain groups I've dealt with that have taught that, and I won't name them because I could be wrong, but I've had them approach me and try to push this and say they got that through special revelation and they've taught it in their church. But yeah, Lilith is definitely a post-biblical legend and not a, not a biblically revealed truth. - So, anyhow, hope that helps, Jody. - Thank you. - God bless you, dear, thanks so much for the call, and if you get any more questions, be sure to call us. Let's go to Darla, Wyoming. I welcome you. - Hi, can you hear me? - Yes, we can, how can we help? Darla, are you there? Looking for Darla. Okay, Darla, can you call us back and we'll go to sunny in Toledo, Ohio. - Hello. - Hi, how may we help? - Hi, I have a question. I would like to know your thoughts on the temple that Ezekiel saw in the vision laid out in Ezekiel 40 through 43, 'cause the temple hasn't been built to my knowledge. - No, it hasn't and it was the last temple was destroyed in 70 AD by a Roman general named Titus. It took months to destroy, unlike, and this is one of the reasons why I reject replacement theology, that God is done with the nation of Israel. Because when Jesus said, when the abomination which takes desolate takes place, don't even go back into your house to take your coat, run for the hills. And they tried to somehow say this happened in 70 AD, which is impossible because it took months to conquer Jerusalem. There would have been plenty of time to get out of Jerusalem when they desecrated the temple. But with now a surface to air missiles and the Antichrist not wishing to be globally humiliated when Israel rejects him as being God, I believe he brings swift retaliation upon the people of Israel, and this is why Jesus said, run, run quickly. Because again, that did not happen in 70 AD. It took months to conquer the city of Jerusalem and the temple where what we find in the abomination which makes desolate, which the Bible talks about where the Antichrist puts himself, his name, or a picture of himself in the temple and very possibly during the dedication of the temple. This is where Jesus said, run and run fast. Now this temple that we're talking about, I believe is the one that's in the millennial reign, your thoughts. - 100% yeah, I think this is the millennial temple. You're right, it has not been built. And one way we know it hasn't been built is all you have to do is to measure the size, which is given with very specific detail. And I'm just looking up right now, a slide that I made for the class I teach an Old Testament. And I put Solomon's temple according to the measurements that are given to us in the Old Testament next to Herod's temple and then next to the description of what's in Ezekiel's temple. It's completely dwarfed. Even Herod's temple, the reconstruction that was done in this first century BC all the way into the first century AD. This is huge, it's Ezekiel's temple 500 by 500 Cubics, which is 750 feet by 750 feet. It's way larger than Herod's temple. So this is something we know is not built simply because we can measure it and say it's never been built. So we're waiting for Ezekiel's temple to be built. I believe it will be functional during the millennial kingdom. It may be what's built and functional during the tribulational period, but it may be something preliminary to that. But we know there will be a kind of sacrifice that's taking place for the Levitical Order during the millennial kingdom. Christ will be honored by it. Christ will be the king of the New Jerusalem and God will fulfill all the promises that He made in the Old Testament that will honor His Son. And God will be honored by every knee bowing and every tongue confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord. - And so I hope that answers it for you. I want to correct myself here. It was not the Book of Mormon. It's actually the Pearl of Great Price, another one of the book's scripture of the Latter-day Saints. It's found in Moses 7.22 in their book about Cain being black. - Just wanted to let Jesus know about that. - We're all out of time, everybody. And I just want to say God bless you. I have a safe weekend. Thank you, Mike, for being on the program. - We're right. - Great. - To every man in answer, P.O. Bosch 391, Twin Falls, Idaho, 8303. That's all three numbers, 1-800-357-4226. Podcast Summary

Key Points:

  1. The program emphasizes that Christians are called to live faithfully by doing good works, not because salvation is earned, but because it pleases God and reflects a life aligned with truth.
  2. A key biblical teaching is that while salvation is by grace alone, believers are expected to resist sin through environmental changes, accountability, and fellowship, as seen in passages like Romans 13 and James 5.
  3. The Bible's portrayal of suffering and human response—such as in Job—shows God’s compassion and understanding, and illustrates that even righteous people struggle, emphasizing the importance of grace, intercession, and community.

Summary:

FAQs

Paul spent time in the desert after his conversion, learning the gospel from Christ. This period, lasting about 14 years from his conversion, is not a study period in the traditional sense, but a time of spiritual growth and deepening understanding through the Holy Spirit.

The narrow gate refers to the difficult path of obedience and faith that leads to eternal life. Many claim to be Christians but do not truly live in obedience to God. Those who are genuinely saved are faithful to Christ, while others, even if they profess faith, may not walk in righteousness.

Sin often becomes a pattern of behavior formed in response to pain or loneliness. The Bible teaches to resist sin by cutting off its avenues—such as avoiding alcohol or smoke—and to seek accountability in a strong Christian community.

Elihu, the youngest of Job’s friends, speaks with wisdom and truth, especially about suffering and God’s sovereignty. Though not condemned, his voice is seen as complementary to God’s final words, showing that God values wisdom from all perspectives, including youth and fresh insight.

The term 'Father' in Isaiah 9:6 refers to Jesus’ role as the paternal leader and ruler over all nations, not to a distinction in the Trinity. It emphasizes his authority and leadership, not a separate person from the Father or Holy Spirit.

The abomination that takes desolation is not fulfilled in 70 AD because it took months to conquer Jerusalem, and Jesus said to run 'quickly.' The event is believed to occur in the future during the tribulation when the Antichrist desecrates the temple, not in the past.
