I'm gonna be talking about pop culture, fashion, my personal life, and just a warning, I will be giving my opinions on everything. And those opinions are subject to change, okay? Now, let's get into it. - Okay you guys, I just, we don't do formal intros on the Morgan Stewart Show, but I just wanna do one today. Because I have to say Lisa Rina is here today. And I said I did it just for you. - You did it just for me and I appreciate it. And I also wanna say, - Because I think you're cool. - I think you're fucking cool. - You're the coolest, you know that. - Well I'm okay, I'm pretty cool, but you're cool too. So I was like, I'll go do her podcast. - And we exchanged one message about this. - This was very natural. This was, when did this come together? Two weeks ago I said, will you come on the pod? - Yeah, you reached out, you know, of course I follow you and see all of your fabulous fashion and whatnot. And you said, would you come on the pod? And I would think I was in Nice at this point. - You were doing Jimmy too? - Yeah, okay, I did not know where you were. I was like, how is Lisa in all these iconic TikToks? - Yeah, because we went on this Jimmy Choo trip and it was all these influencers and me. - Yeah. - And they surprised these kids, 'cause they're kids. They surprised the kids an hour before with me as the host of the dinner. It was so cute. I had the time in my life, we had so much fun. - You could tell. - So much fun. - You could tell. - I was literally contracted to do like two things, right? - Okay. - A dinner and then I danced around the hotel for four hours and we did content. - Yeah, by the way, I kept seeing you in, before I reached out to you, I kept seeing you in different content and I'm like, where is this? What trip is this? But everyone, it seemed like you had a vibe with everybody. - It was so much fun that I ended up doing everything. Every dinner, go to the boat trip, go to the like, I got, I did everything because it was so fun. See, they're very smart. - They are very, you had a good time. There's nothing better than just like going into something that's supposed to be business and then you have the best vibe. - And that's exactly what happened. I got to bring my own hair and makeup people, which by the way, I've never been able to do that. - What? - Not through a business. I mean, you can always bring your own like, on how swipes you could bring your own. No one has ever said to me, you can bring your own hair and makeup and a guest. And I was like, what? - Who was your guest? - It ended up being my manager because I was gonna have Harry come. But Harry had to go to Canada and open up our place in Canada, which is a whole nother story. And so I brought my manager who was, is so fun. - I am. - So we had a blast. Really, by the way, speaking of that, first and foremost, I've been thinking about you so much 'cause obviously I asked you to go on the pod. I saw you in all these TikToks, but you are in my mind from such a young, I've never said this to you 'cause we haven't talked about it. I grew up close to the Beverly Glenn Center. So I have vivid memories of Lisa Rina being with my parents as a young kid. Like I'm talking five or six years old. You checking out in front of me at the Beverly Glenn Market and my parents being like, well, yeah, that's Lisa Rina. Like you have been in my life. - I was kidding. - Are you kidding? - I just unlocked a memory. Like at the pizza place, do you remember when I used to be Santa P.A. Troze? And I go there, I've been going there for 35 years. - 35 years. - 35 years. - Yeah, literally. - I used to work at the eye glass store there. - Shots of fuck up. - Yes, my friend owned a store called Clayton Franklin. And it was eye glasses and sunglasses. - Okay. - I worked there right before I got days of our lives. So I was working for a friend of mine. I was collecting unemployment. I hadn't done anything really yet. And that's where I met Harry. - Is at the Beverly Glenn Center? - Yeah. - Okay, another thing. - This is, wait, how did, where specifically? - At Clayton Franklin at the eye glass store. - And he walked in and he said, this is most gorgeous man I've ever seen. - Well, I knew who he was. He was so uber famous at that point. I just was like, oh my God, that's Harry Hamlin, shit. You know, wow. And long story from there, but that is where I actually met him. And I go there, always there. - Always there and it's changed so much. But those are my earliest memories. - I can't believe that. - And I have, I have known, but I've always known that, but have never vocalized that. Or you've been checked in with myself about it. - Wow. - Yeah, so we go, we go way back. - We go way back. - You're like in my zag guys. - Like when you're a kid, kid, kid. - Like a baby. - Yeah. - But then I also obviously, I'm obsessed with star signs on this show. And I get like mixed messages. People are like, don't talk about the signs. Talk about the signs. I've realized I'm no longer gonna ask people about their signs. I'm just gonna tell you your signs. Do you know your chart? - Of course I do. - Okay, so okay, well let's do a little testing you about you. What is your son? Well, first of all, I got Lisa bottle of wine because her birthday's 11 days from now. - 10 days, thank you. - 10 days? - Yeah, yeah, 10 days exactly. Okay, so your son is in. - Pisces. - Nope. - See? - See? - What? - Do you see the hard hitting news? - No, what? - What is your son in? - This is why I do this. Your son is in cancer. - What? - So how you present to the world is in cancer? Your moon is in Pisces. So I know I'm a cancer. I knew that Pisces was something by moon. - Something. - Moon. - And you're rising, which is why your super mega star is Gemini. - I knew that. - Yes, I knew it was Gemini, but I thought, hey, it could be something. - No. - You may tell me something else. - But your husband, October 30th, which was weirdly my dad's birthday. - No. - So I know three other guys that have the same birthday that are in my life and in my circle that I'm very close to. - Well, cancer and Scorpio are extremely compatible. And he's a Virgo rising like me and his Scorpios and rising. So you basically are, your soulmate says we know. - He has Scorpio Moon. Scorpio Moon. - Virgo rising. - Virgo rising. - Wow. - Scorpio Sun. - Interesting. And I know that cancer Scorpio is a good. - That's a very, how long have you been married? - 29 years. - And how far along, how long I'm curious about this, when you met originally, how did you start dating? - Well, he was on a, he had long story. He was in a really bad relationship and going through a horrible divorce. - Okay, great time to meet. - Yeah. - And then I didn't date him right away because he was so fucked up. I was like, you know what, you're gorgeous and I really like you, but you've got work, you've got things you gotta go do. So he went off and played for a little while. And then about eight months later, we kind of met up again and I was like, okay, and I started talking to him. And I found out how smart he was and he seemed like a really good guy. So I talked to him for like two weeks. - Oh wow. - And then I was like, okay, so I was very slow with him. 'Cause in my mind, you know, he was a playboy in a way, you know, he'd been married to really beautiful women. And I was like, I don't know. And so I just kind of played it out a little bit and then I was like, okay, he's a really good guy and I should have kids with him. - And you knew, did you know immediately? - I knew immediately. - And then how far after did you guys get engaged and do all of that? - I like five and a half years. - Oh my god. - I tripped forever because he was so burned. He didn't really want to get married again. Holy shit, I did not know that. - He had a baby mama, he'd had two marriages. I mean, there was history there that did not feel very safe for him. So I can't believe I waited it out, but I did 'cause I was busy and I was working. And most people were like, my kids even asked the other day, they were like, how long before you were engaged in married and I was like five and a half years, they were like, I would have run. - You also don't give me the type of personality where you would have stayed for five. But you just knew that this was gonna be something. - I think I did, I knew that he would make a great father and he has amazing. And so through that whole time, you're doing days of, how long did you do days of? - I only did days of our lives for three years, which is your first contract. - Okay. - And most people think I did it much longer. - I felt like that was like a 10 year span. I could have researched that, but I like to ask real questions in real time. - Much longer, most people, most people are still there that I worked with if you can believe it. - Wait, I'm sorry. - Yeah, you heard me right. They've been there for 50 years, 40, 50 years. - The people that you were on that cast with are still on that show. - Yes. - Deedra Hall is still on that show. - Deedra Hall? - Why do I even know who that is? - She's Marlena. - She's still on that show. - Correct. - Okay, so then you did, and then where did we go from days of our lives? - We went and did a lifetime movie with George Hamilton called Vanished. - Okay. - Was Daniel Steele, book, and I flew to Montreal. I was 20, I feel like I was 25, but I don't remember exactly how old I was. And George was 50 and I played his wife. - Got it, okay. - Yeah. - So appropriate age. - Yeah, okay. - Okay. - And then I started doing other little movies. I did a movie with Rob Estes before I did Melrose. - Okay, and then I did Melrose. - Okay, and Melrose, that's like the most iconic. - Was that fun? Did you like that? I loved Melrose so much. It was such a highlight of my career. Heather Locklear was such a queen. How she was like the anchor of that show and that always trickles down. - Okay, so she, so you loved her. - Loved working with her. - Oh yeah, I learned, I really learned how to be professional on a set from Heather. How to treat people. Show up on time and be professional and be fun and have fun. I did, I learned that from Heather Locklear. - Let's clip that. Let's make sure we have that in a clip. - A lot of people don't know that. I learned really, I mean, days of our lives is different because it's soap and you're every day and it's like, I don't know, it was different. - Grind more of a grind? - Yes. - Okay, so I learned how to learn my lines every night, 20 to 40 pages dialogue a day. - That, was that something, like were you a good student, for example? - No. - Okay, so was that something you had to like, was that repetition? That to me would be very challenging. - It's very challenging, but after a while, it's like a muscle and you just, you get in the groove of it. But if you don't keep doing it, - Forget it. - Forget it. - Forget it, it's very difficult. So I was so busy doing that and I didn't really learn in so much bigger set, you know, when you're working on a soap opera and there's a lot more people. So when I was on Melrose, which was hot as a pistol at the time, right? - I mean, that was, I mean, that was, would you say as hot as 90210? - Yeah, absolutely. - It was like, it was those two. - It was those two. - Okay. - And I just came into it, you know, your five and everybody could have been, they could have been tricky with me and they were so nice and Heather just ran the whole thing in a way that you didn't know, She was literally teaching you how to behave on a set. And that's how I learned. - How long were you on Melrose? Only two years. - Why do I feel, but you've had such a long career and you've done so much. - Exactly. I just keep going like an energizer bunny. You know, I just keep going. - You've like reinvented yourself more than I think most people have in this business. - Do you think? - I don't know. I think Madonna's got me there. - Okay, fine. Madonna, but also in terms of like, but you've done a Madonna's been a singer songwriter. - I've done a lot of different things. - You've done a lot of different things. - Yes, because I realized when I turned 40 that I wouldn't work as an actress enough to make money to support my family. - Already at 40? - Oh yeah. - Do you think that's changed? And then it feel like 40 and else. - No, I think as an actor, everything's changed. If you're 40, you're young now. But then if you were 40 and you were just acting, you're 75. - You would not make a living. So that's when I started to branch out and I did the talk show and I did the red carpet. And I just do, you know, I was like, I had to support my family. - Yeah, 100%. You were both working actors obviously, throughout the crew. - Exactly. - Okay, so you get married. What year do you have Delilah? - The next year. So 97 we get married and we have Delilah 98. - I also have your wedding picture in my brain. - It was pretty, yeah. - It was gorgeous. - And you still look the same. - Oh, thank God. I mean, I think I do. I'm pretty close to it, hopefully. - The body is so crazy. - The body is the same. - Listen. - How does that happen? - Look at you. - No. - We're in a different set. We're, guys, let's not, it's crazy. Like, are you, is that just natural? - Not genetic. - It is. Is that from Lois? - It's from Lois and Frank. It's genetic. I'm sorry I've been the same weight since I was literally 20 years old. That doesn't happen. - I'm very, very, very lucky. - You are. - Now, I also love to work out. So I'm, I think the thing about me is I'm just consistent. - Okay. - I don't do anything crazy. - Okay. - I don't do anything difficult, though I've tried everything. - Okay, so like what in terms of like dieting, people are obsessed with hearing this. - Yes, all of it. Like, I've tried everything. - Okay. - Everything. - But I'm not crazy about anything. So I just do everything very consistently. I do what works, what feels right for my body. I eat what I want, when I want, when I feel like I want it. - Okay. - I do not, I do not believe in breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I am not hungry. - Fair. Okay. And then what about alcohol? Do you drink alcohol? - I do drink alcohol. And the thing about me is I'm not an addictive person. So I could literally have some sigs be fine. I can have a drink. Like I'm not addictive. So it's very easy for me to have cocktails and such 'cause I don't have that gene. - Luckily. - I'm the same way. I feel like I definitely feel like things have shifted recently where like, you know, you just, if I have any alcohol now, I feel awful. - I have to be very careful now. - So like what are we, are we drinking red wine? I should have probably asked somebody. - Yeah, you know a glass. - A glass. - Two at the most. - Do we drink on the Jimmy Chiu trip? - Oh yes, we did only rosé. I drink rosé that trip. - Okay. - I find that, you know, I had my vodka soda, Doree kind of, you know, three lemons, carcassout moment for a couple of years. - The carcassout is really what fucking tickles my, what is that? - Good, I see. - It's just so Doree. It's still Doree. She just doesn't want, she wants the number of lemon in the drink, but she doesn't want those three big fat lemons in the drink. - In the drink. - So you take it out. - You take it out, brilliant. - So did that for a while, but as you get older, your body starts to react to alcohol a little differently. So right now for me wine is better than hard alcohol. - Yeah, I'm totally with you on that. Okay, so post, alcohol really does kill me. I have all these different, I'm like, which way do I want to go at least? - But it's so fun, like I love a cocktail. I love a glass of wine. - What's your cocktail? - The vodka soda. - Oh, so your carcass-- - A carcass soda, I love. Little tequila on the rocks, I love. - Sikki, I feel like it's definitely easier. - Can be, it depends. You know, it really depends on the day and what my hormones are doing and-- - The hormones are really crazy. - But I'm looking at you and I'm honestly you, I'm not just saying this, you look tight fresh awake. - To my favorite words. - Like you really, but-- - You eat tight fresh awake. - Tight fresh awake. Like I feel like you definitely-- - Wow. - I mean, I've seen a lot of people, you know a lot of people and people just do too much and they look, start to look a little cookie crazy. - Well, I've done that. - No, we all go through phases. - We've got your phases. - But to land here. - Oh, thank you so much. I appreciate that because I feel really good right now. I feel like, I mean, the hormones take a minute to rebalance. I just kind of went through a phase where they were a little unbalanced. - So what were you experiencing? Because I feel like I'm going through that a little bit myself. - Hot flashes and like sweating at night and irritability and not being able to sleep. And I was like, we're not gonna do this. So I just went up on my estrogen. And you were fine. - Yeah, I feel like I'm back. - Are you ever irritable? Like aside from that, like what really gets you going? - Well, a lot of things. - Yeah, I know. But like I'm curious like in the real world. - Ah, like if you're like this, or a treat or something. - Okay, here's something that people don't know about me that I've just figured out myself. I have a little something called misophonia. - What the fuck is that? Somebody Google it because I don't know what that is. - It's a hearing thing. So like my daughter Amelia has it. She has misophonia to where my chewing drives her crazy. Like in scenes, if anyone choose to loudly around her, she goes nuts. So I have it with the television. If I hear the television downstairs in the kitchen too loud, I get so pissed off. That's just the truth. - Okay, there you go. - I understand. You heard it here first. - And I can't help it. It's just like my ears go crazy. Anyway. - You'll all look up misophonies. - Well look, we're doing this. We have people like on the ground here. (upbeat music) - Okay, so I am now fascinated. So Melrose Place, Los Angeles in the 90s. - So fabulous. - Like so fabulous. - Like where were you going to dinner at that time? - I know we'd go to Dres. - Okay, I know Victor Dres. - Dres. - Oh my God. - Victor Dres and we'd sit out on the patio and we would smoke cigarettes and drink martinis. - Oh my God. - So fun. - Okay, so you, okay, so that was your bar one. - Bar where is bar one? - Bar one. - Was where Bootsy Bellos is on sunset. That was bar one. - Oh my God. - We all went to bar one. - So who was in the crew? Like Harry was there, you were together. - Harry was there. Evidently, that's where Kyle met Mauricio. So they were there. I didn't know them at the time. Like everyone was there. - Okay, so that was a good time in LA. - It was such a great time in LA. Like I know Kyle Richards has great stories about the 90s. I had such a great time in the 90s. The fashion was so good in the 90s. - Was it just, were you, have you always been into fashion? - Ever since I was 16 years old. - You were just like into it. - Yeah, I got my first Vogue magazine. I live in this little tiny town in Medford, Oregon. - Oh my God, Medford, Oregon. I didn't even know that. - Oh yeah. - I thought I had died and literally gone to heaven when this Vogue magazine, the September issue. - Oh wow. - I arrived. - I got into my house and that changed everything. So yeah, this fashion thing, which is just, you're really seeing it. Now it goes way back. - It goes way back. - It goes way way back. - And then, okay, so let's talk about Little Lisa that. So did you, first of all, were your aspirations to always be famous and actress? And did you think you were gonna go this far? - No, I mean, I always wanted to just be that. Nothing else. - Just an actress. - I wanted to be famous. - Famous. - Yeah, I wanted to be famous, but I wanted to be an actress. But famous was fun. It was a fun idea. - And also, like, famous at that point was kind of like, if you are gonna be famous, it's because you are an actress. - Exactly. So that was the plan. - Okay, so you were like, you paint the picture when you were young, was Lois like, I know that Lisa's gonna be famous? - Well, Lois wanted to be an actress. - I know, okay, I heard. - And Lois really wanted to be famous. So it was really through, I think, probably the womb that I just came out that way and I was gonna do it. - Okay. - So she loved it. And so in my family and in my house, acting was it. Like, they followed everybody. My mom knew who everyone was. She knew who everyone was married to. - Okay. - Like, it was her. - What was Lois's sign? - June 7th. - And your dad? - June 2nd. - Wow. - So imagine what that's like. I would have, well, four children and four parents. - Like, right? - That is, yeah, 100%. Oh my God, but you have some Gemini in you. - Yeah. - Okay, so then she wants me, and she knew who everyone was married to. And you were like, - She would get the magazines and know everything. So I grew up with that. - Yeah. - I grew up with a love of everyone who's in the business. - Okay. - I grew up with the love of the fan magazines, the celebrity. So when I got to LA, I knew who everyone was. You know, I knew the business. I'd watched all the old movies. And so I felt like I was ready. And I'm, here I am. - How old are you when you moved to LA? - 24. - By yourself. - With Bob. My boyfriend Bob from Medford. How long did we, Bob? - How long did we keep Bob? - We only kept Bob or Bob only kept me. It was, it was, it was mutual. - Yeah, about a year and a half. - A year, a year and a half. And then Bob went on to his thing and I went on to mine. - And then how long after that you were in LA, did you start booking gigs? Like right away was that not right away, I would say, I started doing commercials. - Okay. - That's where I got lucky. I did, I think my first thing was a Mervins commercial. - Oh my God, Mervins. - You guys are a Mervins. - My assistant doesn't know what Mervins is. - Do you know? - Yeah, no. Of course I remember Mervins. - So I did a Mervins commercial and then I think I did a Pepsi and so I started to make residuals. And then I, yeah you get, - Oh, already? - I get, oh, that's paid right. You would get paid every time it would air 'cause it was just three channels at that point. I think I don't know how many channels, but they did commercials and you got residuals. So then I got a Taco Bell commercial. Oh, wow. And then I ended up doing like 13 of them. That's how I survived. That's how I paid your way. Literally paid my way for, I would say four years. 13 Taco Bell commercials. Yeah, 13. Okay, so what were we doing in these commercials? You were just like, "That offs on?" Okay. We had cowboy outfits, cowboy boots. I'll never forget. One of them we went out to the desert, like Joshua Tree or wherever we were. And we're all dancing, you know? Having fun. Having fun, whatever. And there were probably five or six of us. I don't even remember. And they would bring us burritos to eat. But the burritos were wrapped in baby wipes. Like baby wipes that smell like baby powder. Okay, I don't know about that. And you would have to take a bite. No. It's literally 105 degrees out. And they would have a bucket, like a plastic bucket, and everyone would go spit into it. Yeah, it was really glamorous this career that I've had. Lots of very glamorous stages. I'll never forget that. The other day, I had done a sonic commercial. And I told them the story because they bring out this hamburger. And you know, God knows where it's been. Where God knows where it's been. And this spit bucket came out. And I was like, "Oh my God, I'm having a day of it." Why did they have to wrap it in a baby? Why did they have to wrap it in a baby? Because it was fresh and look in fabulous. That was the star. So you had to do it. And you know, you just did it in your 20s. You just were like, "Bucket." Okay. Nowadays, I may say something and say, "You know, I'm not going to do that. I think I'm going to take that bite." But back then, I was in my people pleasing. Yeah, of course. You know, era. Okay. And that's what you did. Oh, I'm literally, yeah, you'll never forget that now that I've told you. No, I literally, I keep, because I'm obviously just fresh off of having little babies. So that scent is so-- Imagine that, Nibbrido. Yeah. But then I'm thinking of the burrito, the stuffing, the kids. I'm like, it's just a lot of flashbacks. A lot. Okay. So you're in LA, you're doing the gigs, you meet Harry, you're fun. 97, you have your first baby. Did you ever take any time off to kind of just be mom or were you always working even through the girls? I was working even through the girls because, you know, Harry wasn't working at the time. Right. So somebody had to work. Amen. And I happened to, I didn't work for the first 15 months with Delilah. So that, I had to have that, but I had horrible postpartum. Oh, no. And that's a whole other thing. I mean, she's fine. She turned out fine. I think you've done a great job, clearly. I think they turned out great, but there have been obviously challenges through. And that was tough. Of course. I went back to work. I think I did soap talk. Was the first thing. I did a few acting things, but then soap talk came along when Amelia was born. Okay. So Amelia was like six months old and I did the pilot for soap talk. And then I worked throughout that, but I only worked a couple days a week. So I could do both. And Harry really did stay home during that time. He stayed home for 20 years. So you were right with your instincts. You knew Harry was going to be a great dad. I, that's where I was really instinctually right on the money. I have to say, I mean, after looking at his birthday, and obviously I've seen Harry like on film, and I've seen him on the shows and like you can genuinely tell like what a cool common collected guy he is. He's a good man. He's a good man. And he reminds me so much of my dad. And then I found out he has the same birthday. It's crazy. And the way I'm crazy is my parents dynamic. My mom's capricorn also very compatible with Scorpio. But I clicked in for me and I was like, oh yeah, this is like a good person. And like is definitely like will be there for you if tides turn. Totally. He's a good man. He's been a great dad to the girls, which is the most important thing. Amazing. You know, he has a son who's 46. Okay. What is his son's name? I feel like I need to be. Dmitry. Okay. And that is with his first wife, his second wife, his baby mama. And also the funny thing is my dad was also married to time to for my mom. It's something about that. There's something about that. It's a day. And that like birthday or something. But I was like, there's so many similarities. Okay. Yes. So he had to meet you when he was 28. A baby. A baby. And he had Dmitry with Ursula Andress, who was a big, big, big star at the time. I did not know. First of all, Ursula. My mom's Swiss. So Ursula is like one of the biggest stars in the world, one of the most beautiful women ever on the planet. That's very, very, very. And Ursula made Dmitry. He's so gorgeous. You cannot, you cannot believe it. You cannot believe it. Very private has wanted to stay out of the spotlight. Okay. You respect, but Harry was not able to be there with him because he and Ursula split up. Of course. Understandable. And so by the time he had the girls, he said, I'm going to be there for them. And I'm going to stay home because of what I was not able to do for Dmitry. Right. So those girls, they got a good dad out of the situation. They got a really good dad, you know, things happen out of not the greatest situations. Then something great happened. So they really got the best of him. Yeah, that's so special. I also am so curious as you're talking to me about your journey through like you're working. Have you had the same agent the whole time? No. I feel like you seem like somebody that sticks with her people. I'm loyal. Yeah. I'm loyal if you're good. Talk about that. Let's, let's a very poignant thing to say that a lot of people don't actually focus on. You only leave people if it's not working. Or there's some weird relationship thing that's going on that you don't feel right about or safe. Otherwise, why would you ever leave? Right. So you have to, it's very difficult to know when to leave somebody, but everyone does it. Everyone goes through it. You grow away, a grow part from people. Yeah. You know, if you're, you know, if you're able to have the same people in your life for a long period of time, I think it's great. Yep. But I think in the business, it's not, it's not. It doesn't happen a lot. No, and I also feel like in this business, people are so selfish. And if you're not like the hot thing, people get really lazy in you. You are a hustler. You have made your own path. It seems that way at least. Of course. I mean, listen, I have always known, you know, I didn't come into this business. I'm not a NEPO baby. My parents weren't in, nobody was in the business. Right. I had to do it all on my own. I didn't have a little lever that I could pull or anything. And I just have always hustled because I know that it's not handed to me. Now, Harry, on the other hand, how to career where he'll tell you stories. Anything was just delivered to him on a silver platter. Why? Does he, I don't know if Harry comes from NEPO baby? No, but he was so gorgeous. Gorgeous. He was just gorgeous. No, I, I'm a fan talented. And talented. If you're a gorgeous man, two people really can't handle it. I mean, because they're far and few between women. There's so many beautiful women. And women can do so much, right? We have makeup, we have plastic surgery, we have diets, we have liquids and we'll do, you know, but men, you was just gorgeous to look like. And I'm also thinking, you also kind of look like Harry. I know. Do you guys look the same? I mean, not really when you see his neck to each other, but there's similarities because we're narcissists. Of course. Of course, we're going to pick somebody that looks like us, right? Wait, by the way, 100. And also the girl, like I'm picturing the four of you and like you all, like no one's weird looking in your family. How fucking lucky did you get like the genetics really? I mean, also having two girls, usually there's one girl that's ugly or in you too. Is that not a fact? That's true. Everyone, that's why one of a third kid, I have one of each because if I had a third, it would probably be a boy. It'd be weird. I just know it. You know, they really got the best they did. We talked about them a little off mic, but did you ever, I mean, obviously your mom, you're their mom, you're proud of them. You knew the type of, I mean, also wait, I have two-parter question. You ready? Because I'm obsessed with Lois. I want to talk about Lois too. I know. Lois is an icon. I mean, she reminds me so much of my, I just like the, like normal stable, like sweet lady, but there's a specific point I want to bring up later. How around was she for the growing up with the girls? She is so much. Okay. So tell me about that. Lois is such a major part of the growing up of the girls. Okay. Right there. She loved being a grandmother more than anything. She loved those girls so much and the girls really got to spend time with her. So important. I'm telling you, it's so much what those girls are about and they would talk to you about her and how much she meant to them, how much they rely on her to this day. Yes. You know, they know she's around. They know she's protecting them. I mean, it could go on and on and on and on. Yeah. My kids are being raised with my mom and I definitely have seen studies and I think that you're just more well-rounded, you're more grounded. You have like a better sense of self having grandparents in the fold. I agree. And they didn't have herries because Harry's parents had both passed when I met him. Just like my dad's parents. I'm telling you, I don't know. I don't know. I also think it's just like even where I used to say I'm not kidding. I have vivid memories of you at the Beverly Glen Market checking out in front of me. Of course. And I went to that market all of the time and thank God, Jade's there now. Jade, we love Jade's. But we love Jade's. But Jade's is like a small four. I mean, are we paying college tuition for coffee? I mean, what's going on with that price? Yeah, but it's just so easy. It is easy. We'll just do it. I don't do my major shopping there. No, of course. You know, I used to do it at the first one at the Beverly Glen Market. Yeah, you could shop there. Yeah, 100%. Yeah. The girls. OK, obviously you raised them. You were there DNA. And my mom and dad were around the entire time. How old are you when you're dead? Dad died. How long ago? He died. Let's see. My mom died. It'll be four years, which I can't believe. Four years? It'll be four years this year, which I can't believe. How did Lois pass away? I don't know. I'm so sorry. I am too. It's just, but it was quick. You know, the thing is, if you're going to go, you want it to be pretty quick. And it wasn't really painful, but it did take a week. And that was the painful part. It took a week. And that was too long. That was too long. They both died at 93 and a half. Wait, they were the same age. Yes. How crazy is that? My dad died 11 years ago, I think. Oh, not that long ago. Why? I don't know. I thought for some reason. Ten years ago, because he died six years. He was six years older and he died six years before my mom. Lots of numbers. Have you talked to a medium? Oh, yeah. Oh, how has Lois come through? Oh, she helped us. The medium helped us as Lois was passing. Oh, yeah. I've chose. It was so remarkable. So I talked to her to this day. Her name's Netta. And I talked to her all the time. She's just in my life now because she has become this angel to the girl. She met the girls before she met me. And so when my mom was passing, she just like came into our lives through Delilah and Amelia. Oh, yeah. So she's in our lives. Yes. Forever. Oh, my God. That is. But there's something soul-made about the fact that unexpectedly Lois passes six, like 10 years after her husband. Six years after. Six years after he's six years old. Same age. And the same age. Same age. That's what's real. I mean, and 93 and a half. Like they had lived great lives. I did not. She did not seem like she was 93. I know. She looked great. She 93. She was 93 and a half. And the only reason it got funky for her is she had a stroke. Okay. She did have one, but she was able to recover from it. But she was never quite the same and she would say, you know, I'm just much nicer. And I just have a lot more fun now. And we would just be like, yeah, she wasn't exactly who she was, but it didn't matter because she was positive, not negative. And she was around and obviously you got to have that time with her. Well, special. Another thing that I also like when we were doing our research is that I wanted to obviously get into housewives lately. Yeah. I really don't think we need to go down that whole house. Yeah. Here's in my life. First of all, I did not realize it was eight years. It's a long time. And sometimes I still think you're on that show. I don't know why, but I just, I don't, I think maybe I didn't stick with the show past you. So I just feel like you're forever. But when you decided that you were done because you were, I mean, most people, you, you were like, I can't do this show anymore. That's what happened. You felt it. This going back to what I asked you about your agent. You knew when you're got. Well, yes, you know, here's what happened. If my mom hadn't died. Okay. I would probably still be on that show today. Okay. Tell me is that because of the dream? Do you know what I'm talking about? Yes. But, but I would have, because I'm such a worker bee. Yeah. I just adapted and just made it work. Okay. So just for context, guys, so when I was doing research on Lisa, I read that low, you had a dream that low, it's after she had passed. After she had passed, I always came to you in a dream and basically told you to no longer proceed with the show. It's time to go. It's time to go. It's time to go. Do you vividly remember that show? Oh, God. Where were you? What happened? I was in my living room. Oh, it was at your house at my house. Okay. She just came in and she said, it's time for you to leave the show. That was it. You know, that's a visitation from her also that really did happen. It really happened. It really happened. It did happen. A hundred percent. And I got chills. I know it happened. So do I. And I hear it. I heard it more than I saw it, which is really interesting. If I think about it, I hear it more than I actually visually see it. But the hearing it was so real. Wow. That I went. Oh, okay. How long ago after, how long after had she had passed it? I would say about two months. It was relatively right after. Did you already been contemplating not doing the show? No. Okay. Let's unpack all this. No. It was painful. I was in a very painful position. My mom died three days later. I went to work. No. Lisa. I never ever have done it. It's, listen, it's my own fault. I should have said, you know what? I have to take some time. I cannot come right back to work. But there was a trip to Mexico. And they needed me. And you never, you never, I needed me. You've also never not done that, right? Like you're always like the work needs to be done. All I know. I have a contract. You have to go to work or they'll sue you. Like that's what goes on in my brain. And I knew that they were in a situation that they needed me. And man, I had to. Thank you for just to kind of carry these scenes. Yeah. Yeah. Like I knew the pressure that was being put on me, they needed me for that show. And so I did it. And that was a big mistake. I should have taken a year off. Not that anybody can say, oh, I'm going to go take a year off. But in hindsight, I should have taken a break. So your mom dies. Yeah. You go back to house. I have three days later, which is, I don't even shock. I mean, you're literally not even on the planet. You're like completely somewhere else. I'm just out of it. You do that. And did you continue to work until, well, the show shoots for four months. So you shot for four months. No, no. Yeah. No. Yeah. It was really, until I cracked, I mean, there's a moment on the show where you see me completely crack. And you know, what's really interesting, and I think what I really learned from the whole experience, grief is very painful for anybody to watch because we all grieve. Nobody really knows how. It's painful. I think that I really represented everyone else's grief that was watching the show. Even the girls, even the women there, it's too fucking painful. You don't want to deal with it. And I think that that's what drove the audience to be like, you know what? I don't like her anymore. I've had it with her. She pisses me off. She's the devil. She's evil. I believe it started. That's my feeling because I represented pure grief and they know and knew what to do with it. And I understand that now. I really do. Do you ever say something to you about that? No. Of course not. Okay, good. I just wanted to make sure. No, no, no. No, I don't. And then, okay, so you finished that and then you were like, it's time for me to go once, once you got the dream, you were like, well, the show, the show, you film it and then they don't air it for a couple months. It's when the show aired is after the show aired and the reunion is when I knew I had to go. I didn't quite know here yet, even though my mom had come to me and said, you need to leave. After the airing of the show, which was really, really quite painful. That was a hard time for you. Oh, yeah. You felt like people were not being supportive in any capacity. Oh, no, no, no, not at all. None, none. Even the girls. Even the girls except for Erica. Really? Erica, and I ask you this from a place that really doesn't know the details about any of this. So I just wasn't. So when you left, you felt like that no regrets, you were happy. No regrets. I've never looked back. I never thought, oh, shoot. I wish I could go back or no, never once. Once I said, you know what, I'm going to go. I have to go now. And listen, it was mutual. No one was begging me to stay. No one was like, you can't leave. But do you feel like, okay, well, I personally, I've obviously filmed a reality show. And you know, people like it is obviously real, but there are setups. There are things that you need to do. There are places you need to go. There's conversations you need to have. Yes. And I do think as an actress by trade and as somebody that has always delivered had to work for herself, you do take on that sense of pressure that you want to do a good job. And do you ever feel like, well, I had to do all of this to sustain a lot of a big part of this show, let's say. And then I kind of got the shit under the stick at the end of that. Of course, but you know, everyone does. That's the game. That's the fucking game, right? That's the game. Like, you know, you're riding high for a long time. And then you know that the shoe's going to drop. It drops for everyone. It does drop for everyone. I didn't take it personally as much as I could have because I knew sooner or later it was coming. But eight seasons is a good fucking run. Usually it happens season three. It happened then too. I just stayed. But still, like, but you, I mean, eight years long, long time, long time. And you know, I just knew I was like, I was, I was riding high for quite a few years. And when it hit, I was like, man, this is, I do not want to live in this. I don't want to, I don't want to, I don't know. Do you watch ever? I never have watched since I left. Do you talk to anybody? I do. I talked to the girls. I'll get together with the girls from time to time. I still see Erica and Kyle and Doree and Teddy from time to time. How long was Teddy on the show? A season was Teddy on the show. Just a friend. Three seasons. Three seasons. Got it. I think. Okay. I'm also kind of in the same world. And obviously, like, the Doree Kyle thing. I'm just, I think when you get to a place on reality TV where you're just not going to be friends, we don't need to force it anymore. Yeah. And you know, there's so much pressure if nothing's going on. That, that, that is something that people don't realize. Like, your life is being filmed. So if you're having a good time in your life, someone else needs to have a bad time. That's, they like conflict. It's with drives those shows, as you know, right, especially in the housewife world. So you can have fun, but not for very long. What about Andy? Do you talk to Andy? I do. Okay. Because I know he adored you. Andy and I are cool. Yeah. Andy and I are cool. We've had our ups and downs, of course. But we have come together recently over my book and we had a really great moment on a show and traders, you know, he hosted their reunion of traders. Right. about traders. People are, Kuku, right? I mean, I think traders is literally like, I would say the equivalent to love island just as big. Do you watch love island? Just a fun fact. Yeah. People leave. I've never watched love island. I don't know if you would get into love. What are your show? What shows do you watch that you like? Reality wise? No, anything. Oh, God. Okay, favorite movie. That's so hard because I watch everything. I watch everything. I just, the invite is such a great movie. That's my new favorite movie. Okay. So invite by a wild. A little idea. Okay, but when did you see it? Because somehow everyone has seen this movie in their talk about how it's perfect. Because I hosted the red carpet. So I got to see a screener. It's a perfect movie. You and I like. First of all, left house was married, which again, very rare. Still married. I know. How about that? Still married. Every single one of those girls I was working with at the time. They're all divorced. They're all by the way. I mean, I I had your original process of your original cast. I was like, that is. Or in the, I mean, that's a big feat. Okay. Now we're going in all different directions. But like you and Harry watching shows, do you guys have date night? We do. We do. Like right now it's not named date night. You're going to dinner. The two of you, you're connected. You know what I'm doing right now. I've become kind of like a social director and I'm making us go out and do things. So rather than dinner, talk about it. We went to the ballet. We saw the New York City Ballet at the Music Center Saturday night. I just got tickets. Because I love ballet and I hadn't seen the New York City Ballet in probably 30 years. Okay. I was like, you know, we're going to start doing things. We're just going to get out because traveling, we get out. Yeah. We went to Washington DC and we went to the, um, the National Museum. Okay. Which has some of the greatest artwork I've ever seen. Wow. Who knew? Right. It was all in this one museum. So I am really like turned on by that right now. So we're getting out and doing things that we haven't done in years. That's honestly, I do feel that that tide is turning because I feel like I've talked about on the show, like LA is in a little bit of a kind of a slump. Yeah. Things don't feel maybe the same, like referencing the 90s. Like I was obviously very young during that time. But I remember it was hopping. It was hopping. Yes. Sky was blue. It was just sparking. Yes. And I feel like since COVID, COVID, we've been a little hermit like. Yeah. I have been. Have we gotten weird? Yeah. We have. And so I just said we got to snap out of it. And we need to get out and do things. So that's my new thing. How's Harriet? Does he like that? Or is he more of a hikini? No, he likes it. Because I feel like I'm the, I hate referencing the show, but this is how I'm seeing Harriet is housed. He's gardening. He's doing his thing. Does he cook? Oh my god. What is that face that girl has? Face. I'm like, that's not fair. It's like the eyeballs on either side of the head. It's so fucking gorgeous. Gorgeous. And so funny. And I just feel like she is my Irish daughter. Okay. So there's something about that. I love snake boy Rob. Even though he did me very, very dirty. That was not good. That's the name of the game. So, you know, whatever. Gorgeous too. Oh. The girls are a. Rob's a big hot mess. Like he's, yeah, people are into Rob right now. Yeah. The whole world. I mean, as we were filming the show, I just saw everyone so hypnotized. By him in real time, in real time. They nobody would have clocked him as a trader because they were so mesmerized by him. I would just sit back and watch it and be like those fools. Did you. Fools. So you obviously knew. Well, of course, I knew because we were all traders together in the turret. But you know, he's 26. He's 26. He was 26. He's 27 now. I did not realize he's a baby. So he could be my son. Literally. We had that kind of relationship, I think. Okay. How long does traders film for? How did you even get involved? How did that come about? Three weeks. Oh, not long. No, but it's the most intense three weeks of your life. Okay. Let's take us behind this camera. I can't take your back, but what I would say is I certainly didn't want to do another reality show for a while. And they came to me and they offered it to me. And I was like, this is a while, though, since Housewives. Like, there's been. Yes. It had been at least two years since Housewives. Because 2022 you stopped Housewives. Yeah. She's is. That doesn't feel like that long ago. It was like three years after Housewives. And they came to me in September. So it was really early. I was the first one that came to that season, I guess, from what they said. I don't know. I got to watch this show. I'm not sure I hadn't watched it yet. So I watched it and I thought, well, I really like watching it, but I don't want to do it. It's great to watch, but I don't want to do it. So I didn't really say yes until the following March. Why didn't you want to do it? You were just like, this is too much. Yeah, I didn't want to do reality. Fair. But it was peacock. Yeah, you weren't sure. And I had one of the girls' friends. Her name was Sydney Bakko. She lives down the street from us and she was a huge traders fan. And she's the one who talked me to doing it. I swear to God. My agents, everybody wanted me to do it. Everybody was like, you gotta do this. You gotta do it. It's gonna be so good for you. And they would lay out the reasons why and did it. I don't know. And they were really pushing for a good six months. Six months. You said no for six months? Yeah. I think it was six months. I said no. And finally, they said, you have to give us an answer now. It's like, yep. I'd never waited so long. I'm always, I was just say yes right away. I very, very say no. And this was like, wow, I'm really taking my time here. So anyway, Sydney Botco talked to me into it because she told me it was like the game Mafia. Okay. And I played Mafia. I love Mafia. Yeah, of course. And I was like, oh, she just explained it to me and she made it seem not so weird and scary. And I thought, okay, why not? I'm gonna do it. Okay. And I just pulled the trigger and did it. And you had the best time. I had the best time. And you basically filmed 24 hours a day. It was really hard. It's really hard. It's really hard. You really filmed so much and they take away all of your stuff. So you don't have a phone. You don't have anything. So you did not speak to your family for three weeks. You do speak to them, but maybe once a week it's a planned call and it's very hard because you're taken out of your world and you're put into another world. That for me was with difficult. I would imagine so. But I love not having my phone. It's not. I loved it. You don't seem like somebody who's on their phone a lot. Are you? I'm on it more than you'd think probably and more than I thought until I didn't have it. And I was like, "Hallelujah." "Goodbye." Praise Jesus. I had no responsibility. I loved it. I really did. Yeah. But are you on your phone like on apps or like what do you know? You're just like constantly working from your phone. I would work. It's work. It's not fun on my phone. It's work. That's the problem. I think we're all so like addicted because we literally do every single thing from this place. So when you don't have it. You're so much freer. - Yeah, and it's kind of like when your phone dies. Like when you don't have it, you're on your page and your phone dies. - Can't deal with you. You're like, I can't deal with you. I loved that part of it. And I think it's really smart that they do that because then you're just focusing on the game. - Because it's a game. - Did you get like, where you in your head a little bit where you like this is like difficult? - Well, yeah, 'cause I'm a traitor. - I'm lying to everyone. - I'm lying to everyone 24/7. I think that is what takes its toll. - Do they? - Do they? - Do they not have like psychologists to the side that you can check in? - Oh yeah, they do. - Oh, you have to, right? - I would imagine. - Did you check in with one where you like, look at losing it? - They make you. - Oh really? - Oh, they come in and check in with you every time you have a day off. Oh yeah, this show is handled so well. - Right. - You are supported in this show. - Okay. - Because I think they realize what they are having you do. Now, not all shows are supportive as you know. I do know. - This is very supported and that made it really, really good. I loved it. It was fun and it's a game. So it doesn't feel like life or death. It's a game. So that is the part that I enjoyed the most, but I will say it's hard being a trader because you are lying to people that you're getting close to. - See, people do get tricky. - People do get tricky. - Right, where you're like, "I really like you, but then you also, "but did you ever have a moment throughout that?" Where you were like, "I'm gonna crack and tell this person." - No. - You kept it, you knew. - No, no, no, no, no. No, 'cause you really, they put the fear of God in here. - They do. You were like, "You cannot fuck off." - You're not gonna tell. No, and they have to do it that way. They have to do it that way so that the game is played, the way it needs to be played. But I'll never forget one of my last moments there because I'd gotten close with D'Arenda who I didn't know really before. - You didn't know D'Arenda? - No. I'd met her, but I did not know her. So I'm in the car with her and I'm just lying my fucking ass off. And it was starting to be like, "Oh my God, this is so horrible." Like I didn't have a hard time in the beginning. I was fine lying. 'Cause you're like, "I don't know these people, "it doesn't matter." - Yeah, not really. And so I'm lying away, but the more you get close to them and the more you have to lie to them is painful. And I remember talking to Rob because he obviously won and went to the end and he said, "I started to crack." He said, "I started to crack." 'Cause it is so hard to lie to someone like Mara, to lie to these people that are so trusting. And like D'Arenda, I knew thought I was a faithful and that she would never believe that I would be a traitor. So that kind of thing does start to get you. - You guys still talk now? - Oh yeah. - Okay, so obviously all is forgiven after the fact because it is a game. - What are you gonna do? - It's a game and you have to look at it like that. You do. Otherwise, I mean, that's the name of the game. - That's the name of the game, 100%. - And that's why I was never mad at Rob because the name of the game is called Traders. - And if you're gonna win, you have to do what he did. - I have to say lastly on Traders, obviously they enlisted you to be a traitor because you're a professional, you can handle it. Back to me is from an outsider to choose Rob is a little risky 'cause he's kinda new in this world. Like you never know. - But they do so much homework on you and talking to you and psychological testing and such that they know who's capable and who's not. They do. - And you were like, "I delivered. You wanted me to be one and I knew." - Well, I did know 'cause I do know how to make good TV. - That's for damn sure. - And I will say I saw Candice the other day and I do believe that Candice and I would have gone to the very end if it hadn't been for Rob because we were in it together. - We were in it together and we would have taken Rob with us to the very end. That is for sure. We would have gone to the very end. - Okay, Traders is done. What is Lisa Rina's like goals now? Like what are you focused? What's your happy? What do you wanna do? - You've done everything. You've written a book. You've been on a million shows, TV, reality. I mean, all of it. - I love acting and I'm getting back to it and I wanna do a series. I think a series would be fun. - I think so. - Like a great-- - Like a great-- - We're gonna say movie or directing. - Great, eight-part series, limited series. I've been doing some cameos in movies and I've never done movies before. So that's really been cool. And I have one that I'm gonna be doing that I can't talk about. - Oh. - But I can't. I know, but I have it. So I love that. And so now I'd love to do a series because I love having that moment where you're working with everybody and you get close to people. I like that camaraderie and I'm ready for that as long as it doesn't interfere too much with the fashion because I love to be able to go do my fashion. - Okay, so do your fashion, meaning like go to shows. Like you, that is your world. - And go to art class week, two weeks ago. - I did it. It's in New York, it's hard. - I couldn't, I couldn't, you know, I can't be everywhere. - No, you cannot. - Like I'm not going to couture this time and it's very hard because my daughter's going and walking and we know she walks in every, how is she managing doing all that? - Amazing. - She's a superstar that girl. - She is, she's just amazing. She just is learning how to get her time to herself to do the work because that's a fashion month that doesn't stop, you know. - And to be beautiful and consistent. And on time, I was saying to Lisa before we started officially and I will wrap after. I mean, you know, I grew up with the supermodels. I grew up with Iman and Cindy. - Cindy. - Naomi and me, those are, that's who I idolize. - Yeah, of course. - To have a daughter that is like, literally walk the runway with Cindy for Gucci. - That is, it is? - Walk the runway with Naomi. - Why? - Walking every single runway. She's literally everywhere. - She's, and listen, that's what she wanted. - Yep. - And they all told her she wouldn't be able to do it. She was like, "No, I want to do editorial and I want to walk shows." And they were like, "Oh, sweetie, that's just not going to happen for you." And she was like, "Okay." - Well, watch me. - There you go. - So that, she literally had everybody against her. - It's true. - And here we are. - Your mom's on a housewife show. - Yeah. - Yeah, but there was Bell and Gigi before them.
