Dan Bongino delivers a passionate call to action for voters, emphasizing that the current election cycle is a pivotal moment for American democracy. He highlights the efforts of conservative figures like Steve Hilton, Elon Musk, and Donald Trump—who are personally investing in political and social initiatives—arguing that their actions reflect a deep commitment to American values. Bongino stresses that voting is not optional, especially in states like California, where Republican candidates are making meaningful inroads. He critiques the Democratic Party’s ideological positions, particularly on faith, family, and gun rights, claiming these values are under threat from what he describes as socialist and anti-religious agendas. Using data on crime rates, economic growth, and federal spending, he bolsters his argument that Trump-era policies have delivered tangible benefits. He also addresses misinformation, such as claims of voter fraud, suggesting that such narratives are politically motivated and designed to discourage voter participation. The show concludes with a strong appeal to civic duty, urging listeners to vote, bring friends, and support conservative candidates on key issues like second amendment rights, religious freedom, and family values. Bongino underscores that the future of America depends on active, informed participation from its citizens.

So I've got a couple of things-- remember, Jeopardy growing up before the left winger guy took over? They had this category. Jasmine, do you remember? They had like Poperie. Well, I'm not a Poperie, but it was like, when did just a whole bunch of things got thrown into one category? Well, this is the Dambon Gino show Poperie, because I got a lot to get to in the beginning before I get to the flying car scene. Number one, Steve Hilton coming up, stay tuned for that. Second, folks, there is no excuse not to vote. I'm not trying to be obnoxious or harsh. I'm not your professor. I'm not your preacher. I'm just a guy with a microphone who's proud to be here and happy to spend time with this Bungino Army every day. But really, there's no excuse not to vote. Steve, you're not going to agree with the mind, everything, okay? The guy gave up a lucrative career, a cable news show on Fox. He's a business guy. To go and run into state where everybody's telling me he has no chance. Well, the only way I'll have no chances of people like you don't vote. You've got to get out and vote and bring 10 or 20 people with you. There is no excuse. I want to bring up another point. President Trump. How old is President Trump? He's 80, right? Folks in the chat, fact check me. President Trump is 80 years old. And you know, like Steve, I mean, he's been a very successful, he's older than Steve. However, this guy gave up, walked away from everything. He knows he's going to be a political target. Well, what would you base that on? Gee, I don't know the fact that they arrested him for fake crimes and mug shot at him for some remade up crimes? His whole family has been targeted. He's not doing this for the money. The guy, the president of the United States, is 80 years old and is getting in and foreign the morning, flying across the country from Alaska to Montana, back to DC. He's not in at some, you know, time machine. He's in a plane like at a security measures, but it doesn't fly any faster than any other plane. Okay, he gets in at 4 o'clock in the morning at 80 years old. I'm 51. Folks, I gotta tell, I won't even be here. I hope I am by the grace of God. I'm not going to be here in 29 years. My body's fallen apart. I'm not. I'm tired now. Can you imagine being 29 years older and he's out there in red stage, blue stage, purple states, getting in and foreign the morning, but I have here, look, it's just right here. I had to get this in. This guy is busting his ass. He's not even on the ballot again, but as I'll tell you coming up in a second, he is. This is your last time to vote for him. It is. Well, he's not on the ballot. His agenda is. You know it. His agenda is. He's on the ballot everywhere. It's on the ballot in Texas. It's on the ballot in Alaska. Read that Wall Street Journal op-ed from Kim Strassel about how the hell is the Democrat even competitive in Alaska. She's going to destroy your entire state's economy. You have a senator and Dan Sullivan has got a great relationship with the president. The president's out there telling you, we've got a great thing going, don't ruin it. Folks, he's busting his ass. Even if you're a Republican that votes for President Trump, but doesn't really like him, you got to respect the hustle man. The guy's 80 years old. He could have a heart attack flying across the country like that and he's doing it. This is your last shot. Please. In the name of God, and I'm not using anything because all of our principles, first principles, faith-based principles, economic principles are on the ballot. Please show up and bring 10 people. I am begging you. I'm not too proud to beg you to do this. I'm not. I'm proud of my country and that flag behind this and all of that is on the ballot. Folks, and I'm optimistic about the future. I know there are risks. We had AI, there's disagreements about everything from fires at a flock, cameras to data centers. That's what we do. It's healthy. We get back and forth. But I'm not one of these doumar slop guys. I'm never going to be. Do you have a number of shows that'll do that for you? Go on. They tell you every day, everybody sucks. You suck. They suck. This guy sucks. That's not happening. You do that. This is not that show. I woke up this morning and saw something. I told you in the beginning because I hate teases. From Elon Musk, another guy who doesn't need this either. The guys weren't close to a trillion dollars in value. He's pouring money, pouring his own money into states to get Republican pro-business people elected. He doesn't need it either and he's still doing it. While he's out there building freaking flying cars. Did you see this? Almost cussed there. I swear to you, I thought this was fake. I had the guys triple check it. This actually happened on a demo about Tesla's new Roadster. Take a look at this. This is crazy. This is unbelievable that this is, I can't believe this is real. Folks, you're going to see this a thousand times on cable news today and I'll swear.
I want to paint a bigger picture for you. The Elon doesn't need this, Hilton didn't need it, President Trump doesn't need it, they're doing it giving their own money in time because they passionately believe in this country. You're not going to agree with them all on everything, not President Trump, not Steve Hilton, not Elon Musk. But this guy is without question, by any reasonable metric, simply the greatest entrepreneur of our time. He's done things everybody, flying cars like, you saw that in the Jetsons, no one thought that was real, it's real, it just happened, that's not AI, that's an actual car that goes airborne. Only Elon would combine a rocket company that catches rockets in the middle of the air, no, yes that too, with a car company and like completely blow people's minds, why am I optimistic about the future, because these people, there it is right there. That's not AI either, that's the chopsticks catching a rocket, we were told that would never happen either. It just happened in the last few years, when you combine the American entrepreneur in industrial base, people you don't even like, people you may not like, you may not like Bezos and others and certainly they've been on the wrong side of a lot of political issues, Elon's been on the right side of a lot of these political issues. When you combine that with AI, quantum computing, material sciences, healthcare, healthcare solutions and new treatments coming out, folks, I could not be more optimistic about the future. Yes, there's probably going to be some hiccups and some of them will be severe. There is at some point going to be some cyber attack, we hope we can minimize the scale of it, but this is with any new technology, with electricity, there were houses that burned down, with flight, there were plane crashes, but no one's going to say, oh, we don't need planes and we don't need electricity. I am so optimistic about the future, I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that you live in the United States right now, where 90 plus percent of the world's great entrepreneurs are either located or doing and building their businesses. You are alive at the most special time in American history and a bunch of patriots who don't really need this stuff are out there busting their ass to save this place because they know the alternative is a disaster. You want to see the alternative? Hat tip the great maze more. This is a talked about discussed and by the way, very serious, I don't mean serious and or intellect, I mean, serious and that Democrats are considering her candidate for president in this upcoming presidential after this midterm, AOC, who maze more, picked this gem out that I missed. This was from February of 2025. Here's AOC's thoughts on the most brilliant entrepreneur of our time catching rockets in the air, jetsons, freaking flying cars, Grock AI, save free speech is trying to help conservative first principles around the country. Here's AOC's thoughts on Elon Musk, here's your alternative, check this out. This dude is probably one of the most unintelligent billionaires I have ever met or seen, our witness. She nailed that one, fellas. That Elon, what a dope, flying cars, chopsticks, satellites, space internet, starlink, star shield, X, you're correct. Guys just a moron, we really need AOC in charge, AOC, I'm just curious, how many flying cars outside of the jetsons have you seen or about, I'm just checking, I'm just checking. But these, in the Friday month, these are always the best. We love us on Friday, Mollies, put that chat up there. Friday, Mollies, for this freaking goofball, folks, tying it back to what I just said, there is no excuse not to vote, zero. There is no, I'm sitting home, I'm sitting this out, some doomer slopper, told me that I shouldn't vote because AOC is great. And I love El Sayed, the Muslim brotherhood guy now, no, Mollies in nature. That's a laughable position. Please, go save your country, your country needs you, your first principles need you, your founding fathers need you, Elon, President Trump, Hilton, people running, spending their own time out there. Please, again, I'm not, I'm not too proud to beg you to do this, it's my country too. Folks, if I thought the Democrats were sensible, I wouldn't be so passionate about this, but this party is gone. You got a guy on stage last night, Troy Jackson, the Democrat Communist running in Maine, Maine. That whole area is like the live free area. You got the last bastion of Sandy, she doesn't agree with President Trump on everything. I get it, Susan Collins. Is she the biggest conservative in the Senate? She's not even close. You want the Communist in there? This is a simple choice. Here's Troy Jackson, less light of debate. I thought this was like the believe all women, we love women party. This is the Communist telling Susan Collins, and she could defend herself, she's nobody's victim. However, here he is telling Susan Collins, I sign on stage, after some Heckler interrupts. Oh, shut up. Really? No, really. Check this out. I'm sorry somebody's interrupting, we'll have our security deal with that. So this is obviously one of Troy's supporters. Oh, shut up. I did not. I didn't. I don't even know that kid. Listen, man, I'm not into this like victim stuff. Oh, poor Susan Collins. She's fine. Susan Collins has been around the political bloc. She knows what to do. I'm just saying like for the Democrats out there who believe like, oh, voting for a Communist in Maine is the alternative. The guy doesn't even have the dignity to, oh, shut up. I thought this was again like the believe all women, we love women, me too, movement guys. And yesterday, this made Barrett media a great site. I love. I encourage you to join the email list. It's really good. B-A-R-R-E-T-T. Dambon Gino, Rips Media's double standard on Katie Zacharias' first briefing. I, folks, listen, I'm not, I'm not here to lecture, you know, other right wing hosts and content creators. I'm not. I'm not. That's why I don't get into like names a lot. I'm trying to stay out of this podcast to stand wars as much as I can. We have an election coming up. It's a choice I made. You don't have to agree with it. I want to save the country. Well, me wasting time on podcast directs or that is just stupid. But I see this like this. People losing their minds, even supposed to be on our side over Kate Zacharias. She did fine. She did fine. Was she a lawyer and attorney? They'll clear that up. Why aren't we asking the question about El Sayed? He claims to be a medical doctor, yet no one can prove he practiced medicine like we've got a country to save. I'm not wasting any more time on this and neither should you. She did fine. She did fine. She's not, we've got the alternative wealth taxes, defund the police, open borders. And like, we did she pass the bar. She didn't pass the bar. She said she didn't pass the bar. No, I've done the doomer slop out there again. And again, I'm not telling anyone to do your own thing, man. I do my thing. I'm not the, you know, the same that this isn't a tyranny here. I don't dictate other people's show prep. We got an election to win. Get the president busting his ass out there at 4 o'clock in the morning and we'll waste time on crap. One of the other things I find really strange amongst full-lex magna and people trying to imbue this doomerism into our side because they want to lose is this idea that president Trump is not a deal maker, folks. Even if you hate president Trump, I mean, I'm talking about liberal, of course. This is baked into their cake. But I mean this for, and I'm not talking about full-lex magna. They got an agenda. I'm talking about Republicans who feel like president Trump is somehow been bad for the party. I'm going to ask you some outside of his discursive speaking style. Has there ever been a better deal maker that's been able to balance various coalitions within the Republican Party? Andrew, find that Harriet and clip on CNN where Donald Trump's Republican support is like 98%. I want to play this again. The numbers speak for themselves. This is the Dan Bon Gino show. We bring receipts and facts. When you poll Republican voters, no one has been able to hold the Republican coalition better than Donald Trump. It's not an opinion. It's a fact. I'll play the clip for you when we find it. It's because president Trump understands libertarians, conservatives, magna folks, old school Republicans, new school Republicans, he just does, and he has to cut deals and you're not going to get everything you want all the time. I bring it up because yesterday I saw this true social post about Nidal Hassan. You got it? Oh, that was quick. I want to play. Receipts matter. Oh, no. President Trump. He's got everybody in the Republican Party pissed up. Really? Do you have no evidence for that at all? There's never been a better deal maker holding the coalition better. Here are the numbers. Okay, magna GOP on Trump, in the 2024 election versus Kamal Harris, he got 99% of the magna GOP vote. Perhaps surprisingly, I might have thought it would be 100%, but it was 99%. Compare that to his approval rating now with the magna GOP. It's 98%. that is there's been
no real decline in magas support for folks that's not that's effectively a hundred percent on it just is 98 99 margin of error polling even if it's 95 it doesn't matter it's still unprecedented don't tell me the party's fractured you're just making that up to keep people at home and the reason let me explain this to you the reason president trump has held this republican party together like no republican national politician in 50 years it's been because he knows he has to make deals and aren't going to make everyone happy put up the true social post folks I had no problem with a streaming public execution of nidale Hassan I spoke about it I think if we're going to do it people should have the option to see it or not however president trump doesn't think it's great for the country right now he's like we're still going to execute this guy it's still going to be firing squad but we're not we're not going to stream it it wasn't the easiest decision some of you in the audience aren't going to like it some of you are the point is president trump has to balance equities all the time he has to do what he thinks is best for the country and he has to do what's best for the country even if the internal party politics don't play well on every issue but I'm asking you to do is you seen spreadsheets before forget the individual columns trump's position on taxes trump on tariffs trump on nidale Hassan trump on the death penalty trump on two a trump on abortion take the entire thing and get a net present value understand you're not going to get everything you want I have disagreements with president Trump we had him under an interview in a radio show we don't feel the same way about abortion politics however I understand he has to balance equities and do what's best for the country this true social post should just nail home to you that he doesn't do in every single case what is politically popular contrast of the liberal media this guy's totally emotional he does all crazy stuff now you got even liberal media people like wow I didn't really expect that because he's not the guy you're saying it but here's my larger point president trump is not the guy the left wing media paints him to be I worked for him he is a deliberate very very smart guy who considers opinions and then makes a choice that not everyone's going to love I'll give you a larger example here you know what let me take a quick break and write a bag but involves Iran and Ukraine you know I hate teases but I think you see where I'm going with this this is why what we would consider republican war hawks and doves people who think we should be more aggressive with our military and people who think no foreign wars this is why he's still at 98% because you can't pin them down to one particular position except I care about America first and so does he quick break and I'll show you exactly what I mean hey these weight loss injections are everywhere but here's the catch about 15% of users quit because of the cost another 15% because of the side effects a while back I had a bit of a health crisis I had bad arthritis still do I had to lose some weight I had to lose about 20 pounds I wind up losing about 40 I used lean I did my research on those injections they were really just not for me I chose lean from brick house nutrition here's a product here it is amazing people email us all the time right Jasmine does it work yes it does go look at my own pictures weight loss shots work by helping control blood sugar and appetite so you eat less there's no argument the shots work for a lot of people but lean was doctor formulated to do similar things naturally lean help tackle my hunger and help support steady energy without constant cravings lean did something the injections don't it helped my body turn fat into energy so I burn fat instead of storing it my favorite part lean is a nutritional supplement not an injection no prescriptions known needles I lost 40 pounds with lean I believe you can too go to brickhousenutrition.com/dan use promo code Dan for 20% off brickhousenutrition.com/dan promo code Dan please check it out the statements have not been evaluated by the FDA it's unattended diagnosed treat cure preventing disease not a substitute alternative for care from a health care provider folks check it out lean really great product and a great company and they love America to a brickhousenutrition folks you see this going on right now with president Trump's policy on you can oh look at that teaser Steve Hilton come you guys are getting an adventurous out there very nice there's a lot of disagreement amongst too big and rather large factions of the republican party you've got I don't like simplistic terms but I don't know any of the ways you got what would be considered like old school neoconservative hawks and then you've got doves okay when it comes to Iran you've got a bunch of dovish no far and wars people saying I I can't believe we didn't I'm not knocking you please you do it's not personal you were entitled to an opinion it involves our military our patriots and their blood and our treasure your opinion is perfectly valid I just happen to have a different opinion and so does president Trump based on what I think the threat was in Iran but you see doves who are not happy doves are not happy they're like we really shouldn't be there this is dragged on too long but president Trump says listen I've got to do what's right for America I had to make this call but then you have the exact same doves who when they see president Trump's policy on Ukraine and Russia where president Trump has said there's a lensky hey man I've had enough of this like there's got to be some deal the same doves are you applauding president Trump and the same hawks who love it around are not happy however the numbers are still 98% because president Trump is not licking his finger to see where the political winds are he's licking his finger to see what's best for America folks this disagreement is healthy but not a single Republican president is held together the coalition like this guy he's out there till four in the morning busting his ass and he's not even running again this is your last chance to vote for the president Trump agenda and don't tell me this thing is over I want to give you the good and the bad here here's Eric Dottrey in account I really like at Eric L. Daw on X just in Florida male and voting remains does that say more red Justin I can't believe it I told I was told this is a huge blue way I'm not telling you the races over early voting indicative of every single metric no but I would rather male and voting remaining more red than twenty twenty four and Republicans lead in male and ballot return rates so far you can see the numbers right there I I thought we were told it's a fee to complete it's over the whole thing's done though that doesn't seem to tell that story in Florida there was a little bit of bad news again early voting is a loose metric at best but I'd rather it be in our favor than not the North Carolina early voting numbers are are not great I saw data Republican who does really good analysis has an analysis on their not great North Carolina the numbers aren't great what does that mean give up doomer slop it's over forget it it doesn't mean any of that it means it's the first couple days of early voting we can switch the trend and if you show up they'll win Republicans have done very well in North Carolina they haven't done great statewide recently but when you look at legislative seat states senate seats the Republicans have been kicking ass if you show up they'll win Steve Hilton coming up in a little bit brought up this is a crazy number I wasn't even aware of this if just the people who voted for Donald Trump in California were to show up in the gubernatorial just the Republicans or the people who have made them Democrats do just the number of people who voted for president Trump he wins oh it's a presidential versus a mid-cycle it doesn't have to be that's my choice correct that's a choice right I voted in the presidential I choose not to vote in midterms why that's a choice that's not a fate of complete that doesn't mean the races over the math benefits Republicans if you just show up however when you look at early voting in Arizona and Florida and elsewhere the numbers are not indicating a blue wave and here's a pre here's a tell this is a tell for me I follow very specific accounts on X I told you one of the X factors that I think works in our favor for this midterm one of the factors out there that the Democrats are starting to freak out about is they have relied often on voter fraud they have everybody knows it we saw the numbers in New Jersey and elsewhere I'm not arguing it with Democrats this print you know that this this position you know it's true how many races has it tilted to the Democrat side we don't know it's hard to prove a counterfactual let me go a little bit out of order put up that post by FBI director Patel folks this is freaking them out again the Duma Slop Duma's who told you nothing is happening odd voter fraud here's another one what is this number five or six just in just in the last three weeks another one of what voter fraud arrests I thought this wasn't happening the Duma's told you that I'm sorry you fell for the Slop this is another one the FBI HSI and DOJ are announcing arrests and indictments of 10 individuals including one illegal alien and nine other citizens accused of illegal voting in North Carolina cash is saying it again for the fifth or sixth time in the last two weeks American elections for American citizens only period I thought nothing was happening I'm sorry you fell for the Slop these are anti-American idiots probably paid off to get you to sit home in North Carolina and elsewhere now you may say Dan
10 arrests here. 10 arrests there. Okay, good news. I'm glad it's happening, but that's probably not going to flip an election. You're missing my point. My point is the message it sends by the Trump administration and the FBI in there now that if you decide to show up and vote illegally in this election, we still got two more years to track you down and arrest you too. I'm not telling you voter fraud is going to be totally wiped out, but there are going to be a whole hell of a lot of people are going to be thinking twice. All right, producer seats incoming right now. Here's Democrats, super lawyer, Mark Elias, freaking out on X about this. Receipts everywhere, folks. They're in a panic that they won't be able to cheat. Here's Mark Elias breaking. I hate this with the big red light break. Please stop doing this. I can't stand this breaking all caps with the threat of federal election interference, looming large over the minutes. I thought we weren't allowed to say that. I thought Democrats are allowed to talk about cheating in elections, but Republicans are with the threat of federal election interference, looming large over the midterms. Senate Democrats planned to send more than a hundred congressional staff members to observe voting sites, sites at nine states. The first program of its time for the upper chamber. Mark Elias, I thought talking about voter fraud was fantasy land was ASAP's fables. I thought we were just making it up. I thought they were campfire stories like the Jason Voorhees Friday the 13th suspend your disbelief. They're not real. Why is Mark Elias freaking out? I can't get in his weird head. I can just tell you they are very concerned about not being able to cheat because of the Trump administration's happening crackdown that yes is happening. Here's another post I saw yesterday by an Austin Campbell. It's long. I'm not going to get through the whole thing, but why you should just throw the polling numbers out the window. Stay home, polling's terrible. Everything sucks. The doomers told you this. This is all slop and it's not good tasting slop either. I used to eat hash as the kid. We didn't have any money. It looked like slop, but it tasted good, man. Remember that Hormel hash and a can. It looked like dog food. That stuff was freaking awesome. That's not this type of slop. Austin Campbell on X here about the numbers. He says I'm looking at the data rolling in. Here's a couple points. Anyone who thinks they know anything with high confidence should immediate discount scroll down in the election cycle. Number two, the error bars on races. In other words, like the statistical margin of error, especially in the swing races are so large that polling may not even be particularly predictive. So what's the point then? The point is to keep you home. That's me editorializing. Number three, there are conflicting cross factors that really are making a mess out of some of the traditional polling, which is causing this. And he also notes non-response rates. And there's people not responding to polls are quote, really are so high. Throw the doomer polls out. Just go and vote and bring 10 people. Folks, you have a choice in this election. The choice is absolutely crystal clear. The party Elon supporting the party president Trump is busting his ass and flying around the country supporting the party. You got Hilton giving up his job running in California. The deep blue state for you've got the alternative is crystal clear. Folks, regardless of yours, I've had some disagreements with Speaker Johnson. I'm going to tell you something. We met him at the RNC and considering, I'm listening to me, man, because this is important. This guy, remember, we met him at the RN could be very gracious. By the way, we don't fall in love with politicians, but results. Speaker, Mike Johnson, the Republican, a speaker of the House is dealing with a razor thin majority. At times, it's been one or two members. This is not the Tea Party revolution where we had a buffer. You have to keep 200 plus Republican members of the House all with different parochial interests, farm states, energy states, all of the stuff that they manage to get done with this is worth it with this sliver of a margin. Because we're talking about it. Did we get everything we want? No, we didn't. Is it 51% of what you want? Good. It's 51% more than you're going to get with the communists. He was Speaker Johnson. I thought he made a pretty good case here with a paper thin majority. I don't agree with that. Everything. We had some disagreements on Pfizer stuff and others. You want the communists in charge? He was about 45 seconds of what they managed to do with a one or two vote majority and President Trump in the White House and not a super majority in the Senate either. Check this. We are providing more jobs and opportunities for more people and the facts show at the record show. We gave the largest tax cut in U.S. history. We also did the largest spending cut of inefficient wasteful government spending in history. We have economic indicators across the board. More people are doing better, higher wages. In my state of Louisiana, just with the big, beautiful building, working families, tax cut. The average Louisiana has a tax cut of $2,915. That means that's money in their pocket. They did not have to send to Washington just because we implemented the bill. The average household income went up by almost $5,400 just because of our policies. We also have the safest country in 126 years, the lowest murder rate, the lowest violent crime rate, 126 years. We have a secure border. We've not released a single illegal alien in the country in 16 straight months. We have more jobs more opportunity. We created a million private sector jobs in the last 19 months in this country. And the success goes on in our lowest prescription drug crisis in 60 years. That's because we did we said we're going to do and you have to keep those common sense principles and policies going because we have much more to do ahead of us. Man, that Hormel Hashtag sent the chat on fire. Even Jackie, Jackie, who does the makeup for the show so I don't look like it's a police interrogation interview, right? Even Jackie goes, "Man, I love that stuff." Someone said there's a Mary's kitchen hash too that was even cheaper. I'm just telling you, that stuff is amazing. Do not die without eating Hormel corn, beef hash. Ignore the look of it. Just have someone else prepare it for you. Just blindfolded. It is amazing. I grew up on that stuff with the egg on top and you cracked the yoke. Man, that is like, did you read that, Jasmine? That is like heaven on earth, man. Don't look at it. Just have someone else make it. I'm telling you, I've never seen a chat tear up like that in my life. I eat that stuff growing up. I'm born with some silver spoon. All right, getting back to the important stuff. Folks, Speaker Johnson is right. You didn't get everything you wanted. I totally get it. I'm not discounting that. But the reason the MAGA Republican coalition is stayed together is because a lot of people did get what they want. People who had wanted their cities cleaned up. You got the lowest murder rate and crime rates, despite fusion, Candalanians, BS. People who are interested in the border. The border is effectively closed. Deportations at record levels. People who are interested in things like, "Hey, you know what? I think food stamps spending is out of control. Good. We got one for you there too." Otherwise known as SNAP benefits, supplemental nutrition assistance program. That's what the government calls food stamps. Chris Hines, SNAP usage is at its lowest level since 2009. 2009 has fallen by nearly seven million since Donald Trump took office. Wow. People who are interested in a bloated federal workforce. President Trump's the first president, modern US history to dramatically cut the federal workforce. Well, what about the doge? They're been spending cuts. Have they been amazing spending cuts? But at least it's a start. The border. You got the reindustrialization of America, median household income up. Not everything's peaches and cream. Man, I get it. But the speaker's right. It's not like we had a 20 seat majority. I'm actually stunned. They got anything done. You have a choice. One of the things that, I'm not a one issue voter. I vote on a lot of things. But there are a couple issues and put yours in the chat. If you had one or two that you can't compromise on, you know, I can in red states. Listen, in blue states, you get what you get. You don't get upset. I'm just telling you, man, red, if you're going to run in a conservative state, like, I can't compromise on this. The second amendment and my advocacy for life being pro life, I just can't. There are different strokes for different folks in different states. However, in place like the state of Florida, that's for me is kind of a no go. I bring that up because you've got an excellent candidate for governor and Byron Donalds, who is like, yes, I'm damn well going to support your second amendment rights down here in Florida. And then you've got the alternative. However, I'm going to show you how this issue resonates even across the political spectrum. The Joe Rogan's got the most popular podcast in the world. Sometimes he's with you on issue. Sometimes he's not. Again, that's not the point here. The point is I believe in the second amendment issue. This was a viral clip from his show. He had the actor Michael Douglas on, you know, of course, it's spouting liberal nonsense. Hollywood actors do that. It's part of being in their stupid club. Like, well, what I need a gun for the lesson. I'm telling you, this issue resonates across the political aisle as well. That is on the ballot. You want to continue the battle for your second amendment right to protect yourself and your family? Then folks, there's only one party vote red. That's it. There's only one part. The Democrats just are going to take your guns, suppressors, SBIR's, all of it. There's zero doubt about that. They openly campaign on it. I want you to watch this clip just to show you how potent this issue is across the ballot. Get out and vote if you want.
We're a gun owner, please vote red. Don't get that, check this out. - You worry about people coming across the border illegally. I really worry about a lot of the illegal people having guns. - Yeah, absolutely, you should. Yeah, but responsible gun ownership for someone like yourself would be to protect your life against a dangerous person with a gun. - Yeah. - I would never assume that you would ever do anything bad with a gun. So would you worry that one of your family members would do something bad with a gun? - By accident, yeah. - I respect that you didn't want one, but if I was your friend, I would talk you into getting one and learning how to use it properly and learning how to keep it in your home safe and locked up to protect your family. The worst thing you would want to do is being a situation where you could have protected your family if you had a gun and you weren't able to. - Folks, again, Joe Rogan's not gonna be with you on every single thing. The point is, I don't know how many people listen to his show. I've heard upwards of 10 million, that's huge. If that's accurate, I can't even express to you how enormous of a show that is. I'll take what I can get. Michael Douglas, I'm really concerned about illegal people having illegal, well, we're concerned about people committing crime with guns too. That's why the violent crime rates the lowest it's been in modern American history. You're in the state of Florida or running elsewhere. You have one choice here. There is a chameleon running for governor in Florida. Damn, why are we talking about Florida? It's a national show. Because you see this all over the country. Fake phony Democrats, lying to pretend to be moderates in purple states and even lean red states. Like David Jolly, in a red state. David Jolly is a chameleon. He's been a tea party guy. Really? Yes, a Republican guy, a Democrat guy, a fake independent guy. This guy's gozer, the gozerian from Ghostbusters. He's whatever, he's the state puff marshmallow man. But he has openly taken positions that would indicate to you. He's going to take your guns in Florida. Folks, Florida's called the Sunshine State. Its nickname is the gun shine state. Tell millions of people in Florida who are responsible gun owners who want to protect their family. You're going to take their guns. Byron Donald's called them out. Good, this is on the ballot. If this is your one issue, you, folks, gun owners, hunters, outdoorsmen, get out and vote because this stuff is for real. And it's on the ballot right now. Vote like your life depends on it because it does. Check this out. But Democrat Party, whether this nationally or even here in the state of Florida that wants to cover up for that, well, at the same time, they want to ignore our laws. They want to ignore our constitutional framework. You even have my opponent here last night. He said that he will ignore Florida's Constitution of Florida's law where he sees fit working around that, trying to use executive action where Florida's Constitution of Florida's law does not allow him to. So I need to expand the conversation a bit here. For voters out there who are one by fours, you voted in one of the last four elections or zero by fours. You haven't voted in the last four elections, but you registered and you're thinking about it. You own a gun, you want to keep it? You got to get out and vote. This is not an order, it's not a tyranny, I'm not your boss, I'm not your preacher. I'm telling you, for you, not for me, you've got to get out and vote. Do you believe in faith and freedom? Are you a churchgar? You go to temple, you go to a mosque. Ladies and gentlemen, the Democrats are not the party supporting people's faith. They only faith the Democrat party and the socialist movement has is faith in government. They can't stand religion, it's competition for them. No, yes. Come on Dan, that's harsh. It's not harsh, it's true. The Democrats, Socialists of America hate faith and organize religion because it's a source of values that doesn't come from the government. Hold on, I was for saying, I go to Ali Beth Stucky, did a debate at this event the other day. Ali has a podcast herself. She does a lot of faith-based issues. Folks, they can't even answer the Democrats still. They can, they just won't. What a woman is. This is actually on the ballot. Right now, there are Democrats who still refuse to answer this question. How can you vote for this? How do you have a women's liberation movement if you don't even know what a woman is? The answer is, they do know. They're just lying to you. This kind of crap is on the ballot too. If you go to a church, any religious faith-based institution, your faith is on the ballot too. I'm sorry to break the bad news, but it is, check this out. - Can you tell me what is a woman? - Ali Beth, I know you love this topic because you make a video about it nearly every day, but-- - Oh, do you? Thank you for following me so closely. - I absolutely do. I did my research. I came in curious about you, but what is a woman's-- - What is a woman's, what's a woman? - 1% of the population here in the United States is trans. And you wouldn't know it from the way Fox News runs hundreds of headlines, but again, I want to bring the audience in, you know, transports, trans folks playing sports is something we see all the time in the headlines, but the national organization for women, a big organization of feminist abortion and transgenderism are two of the six core priorities for their entity, the 2007 women's march declared both abortion access and so-called trans access as key to its mission. So is it really conservatives who are making this a part of the culture war or is it not feminist who have brought the issue to the forefront? If it's not important, just say what a woman is. - Please hear me out, please hear me out. I, you know, attend a church where the pastor of the church is not afraid of calling out the destructive effects of socialism on faith at all, but why? Why do Marxists and Socialists that have infected this Democrat party who are on the ballot right now, including a devout socialist communist in the state of Florida, in Democrat communist Angie Nixon? Why do they hate the church so much? Why, why do they hate the truth so much that there are men and women? XXX, why, why do they, why do they, the answer is ladies and gentlemen, it's competition for them. It is as simple as that. The modern socialist needs you to get your values and livelihood and your health care and your public safety only from government. You can't have guns, churches competition for them. They don't want you giving money to the church. The money goes through the state from each according to their abilities to each according to their needs. It is competition. There have been entire manifestos and books that are brilliant. Dennis Prager, Milton Friedman, Thomas Sol, you can read Conflict Divisions, Vision of the Anointed. They will give you the entire detailed analysis. If I had to sum it up on an index card, though, I think they would all agree. The communist hate, faith, church, that mosques, temple, anything that competes with them. Anything. And when it helps them, like the Islamophonatics and they run holy and alliance, they'll join with them and then throw them under the bus later. Folks, Michael Knowles had a great appearance on Fox the other day. He brought this fact up themselves. There's this thing I hadn't even heard of this before this term. Have you heard of this family deserts where there are just communities throughout the United States where there's just no families. People just aren't having kids. Well, that's kind of antithetical to human existence. Folks, there's no other purpose. I think higher purpose, I should say. A lot of purposes in life. There's no other higher purpose other than worshiping God and finding your way. Then having children and procreating. It's the greatest gift. Listen, if you can't have kids, I feel for you, I'm sorry. If you choose not to, I get a tell. I'm not, it's cool, man. Like you're in a republic, do your thing. I just don't get it. I don't understand that. There's no way, like you can replace it. Your daughter at a volleyball game just hits an awesome serve looking at you with that smile. You just can't replace that. You just can. But here's Michael Knowles talking about the X factor in this. How people are trying to liberals mostly are trying to explain away. People not wanting to have kids. Oh, it's the wealth effect and people just have a lot of money now. No, that's really not it. And by the way, the Democrats are also depopulation, Malthusians. They don't want you to have kids either. They think humans are like a parasite on earth. Yes, it's true. Listen to Knowles explain this. The X factor is religion, not wealth. Faith, check this out. The family is the fundamental unit of politics. So if you lose your families, you're going to have a real hard time having a country. A lot of people are blaming socio-economic factors. They think it's inflation or affordability or even education. And that's actually the least contributing factor. One of the driest family deserts in the country is in Lower Manhattan. That's also one of the richest parts of the country with the highest education. Some people point to race and ethnicity. There are big demographic differences there. Asian and white Americans are more likely to get married and have kids within marriage than Hispanic and black Americans. So as the demographics change, that's part of it. But actually that doesn't tell most of the story. The biggest driver is religiosity. So women who attend-- Americans generally who attend church or some religious service every week are 39% more likely to get married. And they are 62% more likely to have children. So that is really the driver there.
You can play around with the economics or some of the demographic issues, but it's really religion and as religion declines, so does the American family. Now do you see why the socialist Marxist wing of the Democrat party fights against faith and family so much they hate it? You never hear them talking like that. They don't want you to pro-create and have children. They see human beings as parasites on the environment as if, you know, God prioritizes the rock we call earth over the human beings he created. He gave us the rock we call earth, not to abuse but to use. It's our home. I don't fall for that, man. I don't miss this. I got an amazing interview at Steve Hilton coming right up. I saw this come in the other day and I was kind of touched by it. I get a lot of these on X and I try as much as I can to incorporate it into the show, but we really have an amazing set of listeners and viewers out there. So at Jason HRT, J-A-Y-S-U-N-H-R-T, he says, "Dan, I hope this finds you well. Is there any possibility you can mention my uncle Ira Jacob, who recently passed from Hurricane Isa. Yes, I would say that name. He was a P1 listener and talked about you constantly. He was a Brooklyn boy and loved your show. Thank you for being you know, thank you, Ira May God rest your soul and thank you Jason for letting us know. I just want you to know, you guys really matter to me a lot. This show is more to me than just a microphone on you. I know I say it sometimes, "Hey man, I'm just a guy with a microphone, but I'm not just a guy with a microphone. I'm just a guy with a microphone with an amazing audience of people and supporters and I don't want you to think I ever, ever take that for granted." So God's speed in the second creation, Ira. You know it's off Friday, so before our interview with Steve, producer Jim is always kind enough to put together a Democrat Zen moment of the week, obviously done with dripping sarcasm because there's very few of these ever where they will present a peaceful calm moment. I don't know what's in this, so I'm issuing a language warning in advance because liberal progressives love to cuss a lot, I get it, not at all. However, this is your Democrat Zen moment of the day, check this out. Our Democrat Zen moment of the day, a peaceful moment to center your mind. Are some of you men fucking stupid or are you just fucking stupid? I followed up and I was like, "Oh, well then how's your day been?" This is an AI, right? Have the audacity to say, "Mid, you told me to hate you one more and now that I have you want to play these fucking games." This has been Democrat Zen. That may be one of our best ones. That's a pun. Did you look? We can't confer if it's AI or not. We can't confer, but if that's real, I may consider that for consideration in our top 10 videos of the year. Folks, we always pick a comment a day, stay tuned for a great interview with Steve Hilton coming up. A comment of the day, if you want to see the official rules we give away once a week, $1,776 to a lucky viewer. Thanks for joining the live chat 10 a.m. Eastern rumble.com/bonginoficialrulesbongino.com/1776. Comment of the day today is -- Wow, that's a lot -- I know, seriously -- RJ4477, Dan follows the money, Elon follows the stars, and I follow the Forklift manual. Democrats follow whichever excuse is trending. You ain't kidding RJ447, vote right, vote red, don't get dead. You still got a couple of weeks to get 10 people with you, and we can win this thing. It's just math. You show up, we win, you know, show up, we lose. Quick break, we're going to get to Steve Hilton, don't miss this interview. Hey, more good years. We are what we eat, and so are our dogs. You know, I love my dog, Lucy's part of the family. A long, healthy, active life starts with clean, real food nutrition every day. It's one of the reasons I pay so much attention to what goes into Lucy's dog bowl. I started looking closely at these ingredient labels. I realized that I wanted food, maybe with real, recognizable ingredients. I want to be healthy. These would lead me to Sundays for dogs, Sundays for dogs. Sundays is different. It's human-grade food, made with real ingredients, you'll feel good about serving. The recipes contain more than 80% all natural meat, along with nutrient-rich ingredients like kale, ginger, and blueberries. Everything is gently air-dried rather than exposed to high heat. There's no fillers, no synthetic additives, no chemicals, just simple, complete nutrition. Sundays for dogs is also vet-founded and vet-formulated by Dr. Tory Waxman, who created it to meet her standards as both a vet and a dog parent. As I feed her as a treat, too, I'll take a couple out. She loves them, Lucy. The best part is how easy it is. No fridge, no freezer, no prep, no mess, just scoop, and serve. It's that simple. Lucy loves it. Folks, this election cycle, I think, is going to have a lot of surprises for everyone. One of the surprises I hope we see on Election Day is my good friend, Steve Hilton, who is run one of the most formidable campaigns for California Governor, where you've seen in the Republican side for a long time. Steve Hilton, what an honor to welcome you to the show. Thanks for being here. Oh, man. It's so great to be with you. It's wonderful to see you. It's been a while, and I'm really happy to be here. Steve, I took a trip recently to California for a wedding, and I think the shame of what's going on in California, and you know this, it is such a just, absolutely, aesthetically beautiful state. And there's so many good people like, when I went out there for the first, from the first time, about 10 years ago, I was a Republican activist. I was expecting some negative comments, because I was out and I was at a conference in Beverly Hills. The people could not have been nicer. I mean, it really is such a wonderful place, it's such a shame, but I was out of the wedding, and nearly everybody I ran into who had seen me on Fox or whatever said, well, what do you think about Steve Hilton? What do you think about Steve Hilton? We love him. He got a shot. I said, he's got as good a shot as anyone. I said, the only way he's not going to have a shot is if you don't show up. I feel an energy on the ground in California, you know, when I was there and I saw in a lot of the emails we get that I haven't seen a long time. I think there's a lot of people really upset at the direction of this beautiful state. Exactly. I mean, that's the truth. We're the most beautiful place. We are actually, if you look at the overall size of the economy, the richest state in the richest country on earth, and yet you go all over the state and it's like disgusting almost third-world conditions. That is not an exaggeration for political effect. That is what you see. I mean, LA today, I saw it yesterday and the day before and many times I've been and it's not just skid row in the famous places like that, the notorious is probably a better word. It's everywhere and it's in the Bay Area and it's in Fresno and it's in Cheek. This isn't working. We've had 16 years of one party rule, Democrats have run everything in California. All the statewide offices, both chambers of the legislature with a two-thirds majority that they can, means they can do anything they want without any Republican input, every big city, every big county, the state Supreme Court. People forget that with a six-one Democrat-appointed majority, it's total one party rule. This is like, it's almost saying to the Democratic Party, all right, show us what you got. We'll let you do, you will let you have it all your own way for 16 years, nothing stopping you from showing you, throwing us that your ideas work and that your people can get things done and look at the results. It's the highest poverty rate, poverty rate in the country tied with Louisiana, the highest unemployment rate, the highest cost of living by far. Everyone knows that gas prices, housing costs, insurance, everything you look at, groceries, the most expensive in America. And then you dig beneath that, you've got the homelessness and the crime and the chaos, the school results pretty much the worst in the country, even though we spend nearly the most chief executive magazine ranks California, 50th out of 50 states for business climate, every day you've seen new announcements of businesses leading, but really the ultimate, the ultimate indictment of the people who've been in charge. This beautiful, incredible state of ours, with so much to offer, millions have left. People are leaving California. Why would you leave such an amazing place as this? Because they've made it impossible to live here if you're just a regular working person, if you're a small business owner, well, actually whoever you are, it's like, sorry, it's just too difficult and I'm going to move to another state. And that's the real sign of their failure and that's what we got to turn around. Talking to Steve Hilton, Republican candidate for Governor, the great state of California, Steve, it really is a shame. There's nothing California doesn't have, nothing. You've got tech hubs, job hubs, you've got oil. You've got coastline, you've got San Diego, you've got San Francisco, you've got the North, you've got the South, you've got Central California, you've got Napa Valley, you've got the best wines in the world. I mean, there's nothing like this state, as you just said, how are they? I know you're running on a positive agenda. I've known you for a long time. You remind me of the Milton Friedman line when you talk about Liberty, talk about it with a smile.
happy warrior. I get it. But at some point, you almost have to say to the citizens of California, yes, I'm running on all these good things, economic growth, public safety. But what do you have to lose by taking a shot with something different? You have tried this, as you said, for 16, 20, 30 years. It just hasn't worked. Like, are we interested in results or just talk? Exactly. One thing I just want to make sure we add is our incredible ag industry. We have the most fertile and productive agricultural area in the world. Not just the central valley I was there last Saturday at the Fresno State Football game. I know the central valley, incredibly well. I love our farmers. It's throughout the state Ventura County and down an imperial county near the border. It's just everywhere you look. We've got these amazing things. And you're right that I've got a symbol. You can see it right behind me in the shot just now. Very simple, practical things to make life better for people. Your first 150 grand tax free because the quickest, most direct way we can help people with the cost of living is for the government to take less money out of their pockets in the first place. And that's why that's my priority. Getting a sensible energy policy. Because again, you look at oil. By some measures, we have the second largest oil reserves in the world, except the people in charge are leaving it in the ground, destroying jobs here in California. And so we are now importing nearly 80% of the oil that we use, including our top provider right now is Iraq. In the Middle East, it's insane. But the other thing behind me you can see is how we're closing this campaign with that very simple message. We've done it the same way for 16 years, isn't it time to do something different? Just try it. Just try it and see whether having a bit of balance in our government, having someone who wants to reduce the size of the bloated bureaucracy and stop bossing people around from morning till night, telling us how to live, how to raise our kids, how to run our businesses, just a bit of sanity in the system. Just try it and see what that might produce. If you don't like it, you in four years you couldn't go back to it. Look, even in the event that they elect me governor in California, we know that the Democrats will still control the legislature. They'll still have, look at LA, we've got two Democrats running from there, both as bad as each other. So they're going to still control a lot of things in California. Let's just have a bit of balance. Let's send someone to Sacramento to be a break on the costs and the craziness and just bring some sanity to the whole situation. And I think it's a powerful met look, no one gave us a chance. If you look at most of the polls for much of the last 20 years, it's like been a 30 point gap between Democrats and Republicans. Some of the polls now, the traditional polls, still showing a big gap. Others that are using an estimate of the electorate of who shows up to vote that reflects the enthusiasm that we're generating. It shows a race that's under 10 points. Look, we're still behind just to be clear. There's no poll that shows me ahead. But the one that came out straight after the debates that I had the one and only debate with my opponent, Pasera, it showed me six points behind. And what you talked about just then down the energy that is really out there. I really feel that we have hundreds of people coming to our events. Most of our events these days are in Democrat areas. We don't invite just Republicans, we're inviting independence and Democrats mainly. Every day people come up to me in the street or Starbucks or whatever and say, I'm almost word for word. I'm a lifelong Democrat, but this year I'm voting for you because we got to have a change around here. So I don't know, something's happening. I still have the same belief about this race as at the beginning, maybe a little bit stronger that it's going to be very difficult to win, but it is not impossible. And that's why we got to go for it with everything we've got. We're talking to Steve Hill and Republican candidate for governor in California. Steve, it is not impossible. You know, and this is the receipt show we like to we use evidence. We I try to avoid conjecture when I do I say I'm speculating, but I lived it myself. I grew up in New York City where it was said over and over. There is no chance there will be a Republican governor and Republican mayor. And they were there at the same time. George Pataki and Rudy Giuliani. Rudy Giuliani won by 18 points re-election. You know why? They just tried it in a background and they were like, wow, safe streets and economic growth. This isn't a Democrat issue. This is just an issue issue for families. So don't tell me it can't happen. Then in the state of Maryland, I ran in a congressional seat. I was told no one's come within 15 points of the seat. Yeah, we didn't win, but we won on election day. We wound up losing by one point later on. Yeah. And then Larry Hogan, Republican governor of Maryland, he wound up winning two terms in the deepest of blue states. And it was a huge shock to the establishment. I don't want to be told that that it's impossible. And one other point, I listen, I think you have as good a chance as anybody. And if people show up, I think you got a darn good chance. However, even if people don't believe that say, yeah, it's a fate of complete. It's over, which it isn't. There are down ballot races where if Hilton supporters come out and bring 10 people out there, even if you come within five points and aren't victorious, you know the down ballot effects of a five to two to three to one point race in California. The entire congressional seats could flip city council seats. I mean, you have to get out and vote. The only way to guarantee a loss is to not show up. Yeah. And actually, I'm hearing that. Look, one of the things that's, you know, this is a level of detail that, you know, outside of California, people won't be that interested in. But one of the things that I've done very strongly in this campaign, because that's how I've always been. You know, I've most of my career, I've worked in business when I've been, I've worked in the government back in the day in the UK. It's all, it's not just about one person. It's about the team that you put together. And I've actually put together a team to in this election. A team of candidates running statewide, I call it the golden ticket for the other statewide elected positions. We've been working together, campaigning together with good friends. We are fighting as a team. And then for the other races, the congressional races, the state legislative races, we're together the whole time working closely with the state Republican Party. We've really worked together as a team in a way that you've never seen before in California on the Republican side. And I think on that any side, it's really interesting and it's exciting. And those two people on the R team are telling me, they're seeing the energy lifting them up as well. So it really is happening in the way that you describe and getting together with other people who see the challenge the same way. We don't all agree on absolutely every single area of policy, but we're running on a common platform and it's working. Something is happening this year in California that we haven't seen for a very long time. Well, Ronald Reagan was the governor of California and he said, we're never going to agree with everyone on everything. You get 80%. You try for the other 20% later. That's just not realistic. It's not the real world. Listen, I love you, man. We've been friends for a while. I probably don't agree with you on everything either. It's totally irrelevant. The big ticket items that you and I care about are on the ballot in California. And one of them I want to talk about because of my experience there was during my year at the FBI there, we were very concerned about violent crime across America. Steve, I saw it no different than terrorism. The end result are people die and how you got there to me, one's ideological, one may be greed or drugs, but people are still dead. That's unacceptable. So, and I don't want to impune every single politician in California because that's certainly not the case. There were Democrat mayors. I'll just be candid with you who were very helpful. They were and they were all about cleaning up the streets and I, that was my job. My job is not to be political at all. But many, and you can figure out who they were. Many California politicians, Steve, were not only not helpful, like a misfeasance type. They, it was malfeasance. They were actively getting in our way of some of these operations. And I found it disgusting. I know public safety is a central tenant plank of your campaign. There is no reason. Beautiful cities like LA and San Francisco should be ravaged with the fentanyl crisis and drug crisis there is now. I would expect that if you were elected governor, you're going to see a much, much safer California. Yes. Exactly. And it's it's the basic responsibility. And actually, there's a combination of things and it reminds me of what you said about New York. It's a combination of safe streets, but also clean streets. And that's something that we don't talk about. No, I mean, I was out yesterday literally with a garbage truck and a guy who's a volunteer cleaning up LA because they've done such a terrible job of that. It's squalor everywhere. That contributes to an atmosphere, a breakdown of order and civilized standards of behavior. But specifically on crime, the num, one, the point I always mean is that, of course, it's a very decentralized area of policy. And that's as it should be. You've got low, you've got county DAs and you've got police departments and and it's very decentralized. The governor does not run law enforcement in California and shouldn't try. But the big thing that there's gone in the wrong direction is the starting point for what I would change. And that is the prison closure program. Over the last, it's actually started before Newsom under Jerry Brown. They've been closing state prisons in California. As a result of that, 10 are driven by ideology, by an
Ideology they call, it's part of the criminal justice reform. They call it de-carceration. Basically, it really honestly states, if you get the hard-core believers in this, that no one should be in prison at all, because prison is racist and it's one. So that's been driving the policy. In the last few years, tens of thousands of dangerous, violent criminals have been released, either directly into the community or transferred to county jails. As a result of that, the county jails are completely overcrowded, bursting at the seams. Often with people who should be, I speak to sheriffs all the time, as you'd expect, they tell me that half the people sometimes even more in their jails, either shouldn't be there at all, because they're such dangerous, serious criminals. They can't possibly look after them properly. They don't have the facilities in a county jail, they can't do rehabilitation, none of those things, or they've got very severe mental health problems, and they shouldn't be there for that reason. But as a consequence of all of that, the system at the local level knows that the jails are full, and that means that you're getting no accountability for crime at the local level. And in fact, often I've heard that phrase that we used to hear about in terms of the border, which is catch and release. That's what's happening with crime in California. I mean, there was a police chief in the other day, a couple of weeks ago. He told me, I mean, this is a very common story. He said one of his officers in the morning caught a criminal. I think it was a car thief, right, apprehended. Someone took them in, booked them. That officer was asked to do, and someone was sick, asked to do an extra shift. To stay on late that same night on his extra shift. The same guy he'd arrested in the morning. He arrests had to arrest again. The same day, he was out doing the same crime, the same officer. You know what I'm going to tell you? That is the moral of it. But you brought up a word before I think it's critical. You know what's really racist? Telling largely minority communities of patriotic, you know, black and Hispanic voters that by allowing criminals to infect your community that somehow that's beneficial and some positive thing we're doing. That's racist. That's talking down to tax paying California citizens who deserve better than this crap. And I get really tired of hearing that using that label to in turn make those communities more dangerous. One thing I wanted to address you, I know public safety, you're the clear choice here. I mean, this is not, I hate what people say. It's not a partisan issue when it is, but public safety isn't nobody. I don't care what you do are libertarian communist. No one wants their kid getting mugged or robbed on a school bus. Like they just don't want that. One issue that's taken on a partisan tinge, though, taxes, it always has been. There's even schisms in the Republican parfair tax, flat tax, you know, where do, how do we tax? What's the best way to pluck the goose without causing that much pain, right? But a wealth tax in California is going to drive out a lot of voter turnout. It is out there. Steve, I was chatting with you a minute before the show and I said to you, this is not a wealth tax because it's not going to bring in any money. Even if you are a hardcore liberal progressive saying, maybe I'm going to give Steve a try. But I really like the idea of taxing the rich. Even if you like that idea, I promise you, this will not do that. I, please just read this article by Joseph Sternberg yesterday in Wall Street Journal opinion. Peace. The California wealth tax friends connection. He goes over how this has been tried in France. It's been tried in Maryland. What winds up happening, Steve, is the wealthy California businesses either leave or they find a way to engage in tax arbitrage and pay less, not more taxes. This is a terrible idea. Even if you're a hardcore leftist because it won't raise any money. It will actually cost you money. Well, and that we are, it's not just a theory, that's already happened because this insane proposal has included in it a retrospective implementation clause, which means that if it is voted through on the ballot in that now and is implemented at the end of the year, which is when it goes into practice. It actually goes back to the start of 2026. So people knew that at the end of last year. As a result, you've had, by some estimate, a trillion dollars of wealth has already left California as the targets of this tax moved to Florida, to Texas, to Tennessee. That means we've, even if the tax, even if this insane thing doesn't pass, we've already lost tens of billions of dollars of tax revenue with the people and the businesses who've left. So that's already happened, just the threat of it. But you're right. And you'll just see more of that if it's actually implemented. And the other part of it that's insane is that it's being pushed by one particular union, the SEIU health care union. And the whole premise for it was we need to raise this money because of the Trump spending cuts on health care. There aren't any spending cuts on health. The amount of money that the federal government is going to spend on health care in California is projected to increase. They're just slowing the rate of increase and they're putting work conditions, which by the way, most people support. So the basis of it is ridiculous. The effects have already been disastrous. But actually, I think that the campaign around it is helpful to all of us. Because if you see those, look, we're a start-up here and we've raised a good amount of money for a Republican candidate. But we've vastly outspent by the corrupt Democrat machine, financed by the government unions and so on. We're doing okay, but that's the reality. We're just not in the same league financially as a campaign, as my opponent and the Democrats. But because of the billionaire tax, you've got a lot of ads out there that are making the point that we already have the highest taxes in the country for the worst results. And so the campaign around the billionaire tax, I think, is helping energize Republican voters and getting some arguments out there about why we can't just keep spending and spending and taxing and taxing and expecting better results. So in the end, I think this could backfire on them. Steve, we're talking to Steve Hilton, Republican candidate for governor. Steve, we've been, by grace of God, we just jumped back on the radio. We're on a ton of stations in California morning and afternoon now. So people are going to hear this three times, a podcast radio. So if you're in your car listening right now, I want to make this point clear as day that Steve Hilton is a, is a results oriented spreadsheet guy. This is not an interview about government or no government. We have a government public safety roads. We get at the state level. You've got a number of serve you got public schools. We understand that. I don't want to mischaracterize any of your positions, but your position is that government or no government. It's if we're going to have a government and it's going to do stuff, then it should just do it. Well, this is not in controversial position. And the example I want to use is homelessness in California. If you are going to engage in an anti homelessness, like a good thing, I mean, whether government does it or somewhere else up, you know, the states will decide that by themselves, but then you should be able to show metrics. You were a business guy. Hey, we're selling pet rocks. Are they selling? No. Well, maybe we should stop selling pet rocks. The homelessness rate in California, number of homelessness is not going down. It's getting worse. And I want to just tie that to your bigger argument that if we're going to do this and tax the heck out of our citizens, then by gosh, at least do it right. Show us some results. Exactly. Well, the results are getting worse. There's no question about it. I mean, I've really been focusing on it this week because the money is being spent. And I mean, let's just look at some of the numbers. I mean, these are numbers that are out there from objective sources. You've got the state auditor of California published a report showing that $24 billion of spending on homelessness just couldn't be tracked at all. The city of Los Angeles, there was a lawsuit filed by business owners in the downtown area. They had an equivalent number of $2 billion just to the city of LA, not even LA County. It's just enormous amounts of money. Remember that we spend the most of any state. They've doubled the budget of the state of California in the last 10 years. It's a very important point when people say to me, "Why are you going to reduce the. " 10 years ago, the budget of California was $170 billion. This year, it's 354. It's actually more than doubled. All while millions of people have left the state and the problems it so that we're paying twice as much. We've got millions fewer people and all the problems have gotten worse. So it's obviously not working. On homelessness, the reason is that is actually a phrase and I just want to quickly explain it. People talk about the homeless industrial complex. That is what it is. That's where the money's going. What does that mean? There's two components to it. The first is a network of politically connected nonprofits. Non-profit sounds very nice. These have become massive enterprises. One nonprofit leader in Los [BLANK_AUDIO]
CEOs of a nonprofit getting millions of dollars in homelessness funding. She's paid 1.6 million dollars a year salary and lives in Hawaii. That's what we're dealing with here. And the money that these nonprofits get goes is all directed into programs based on two ideologies. One is called harm reduction and the other is housing first and they're connected. And harm reduction is based on the idea that we know that people are going to use drugs and drug addiction is a big part of the homeless problem. We want them to use drugs safely. So we are going to give them safe supplies so they don't die of materials coming from illicit sources. This is why every single day and this is what I expose I did my press conference there saying I would stop this stop funding addiction on Tuesday this week in LA right behind me in live what I was doing my press conference. A sort of symbol of the failure just sort of wandering around a poor guy completely addicted to drugs doesn't know where he is like basically you know just it was just as absolute horrific example I took the media on a little walking tour with around one block. By the way this is McCarthy Park just a few days after we had a high profile raid by the FBI okay and just within a five minute walk we see rose and rose of people injecting smoking crack met everything met pipes. Met pipes are on sale in the grocery stores right there on not McCarthy Park and all the drug. My producer in here is got his hat he can't pull because we live in Florida that takes public safety seriously like he's sitting here I swear we should get sure he is facing that is absolutely insane there would be a revolt in the state of Florida by the citizens if they even saw a met pipe on the floor of a place in like a pharmacy that it accidentally falling out of someone's pocket. No it's insane and every day I should be really clear what's happening every single day that's why we did the event there every day I talk to business owners there they see it every day taxpayer funded nonprofits show up and it's all over the state of California that's this is the one of the most high profile examples and they literally hand out crack pipes and and needles and actual drugs. Paid for by the taxpayer and there's something I want to I want to connect this to Dan which is which is a point I make increasingly on the campaign trail as the states in this election become clearer you got that going on then you've also got us again especially around there in LA but the whole state you've got a massive explosion of what when you look at it you think our illegal street vendors. Which are now competing with brick and mortar businesses putting putting them out of business I've spoken to many taking away their customers it whether you're a restaurant or a shoe store or whatever it may be you're getting competition from people paying no rent no tax nothing creating health hazards you know food vendors pouring grease into the public drainage system rats or all this going on an absolute explosion of that in California. Why because in 2018 the state legislature legalized street vendors and took away the ability for any local government to do anything about it including on the grounds of competition with brick and mortar businesses and so you've got businesses going out of business and if you put those two things together it really tells you in the deep way what's gone wrong in California which is basically we've become a state where the people who do the right thing are punished. And the people who do the wrong thing are rewarded that's actually what's going on that's at the heart of so much that's plaguing us in California and that's what we need to turn around. And you really run a incredibly formidable campaign I want to personally thank you not not just as a former friend but as an activist for for you know first principles good principles economic growth principles public safety myself I know it's hard you know you had a great job we were colleagues you know it's hard to walk away in a blue state I ran in a blue state where I was told you know you have no shot to but these things really matter and I know what's in your heart you're certainly not doing it for the money or the cash you had a nice good life. So thank you so much for running creating a real energy in a blue state if anyone's got a shot it's you bring 10 people with you vote for Steve Hilton Steve what's the website I just want to make sure they can they can donate if they want to Steve Hilton for governor.com F.O.R. And at Steve Hilton next share all our content one last very quick thing down just to show that this even if we don't get any republic any Democrat or independent votes and we are we really winning them just the numbers we think we need 6 million votes to win this election in 2024 in California president Trump got 6.1 million votes that even campaigning here now of course that's a presidential year. That turned into whatever it was 37% of the vote because of the turn up but it shows you that what you've just said is right if every republican votes never mind all the Democrats and independence who want change if every Republican who voted Republican just 2 years ago shows up and votes will win this election just with that and we're going to have more than that because as I said every day independence Democrats saying they they're voting for change we really can win this. We really can but only if everyone votes and then tells everyone they know to show up and vote as well. Yeah and folks please don't tell me it hasn't happened was it Bruce Rowner and Illinois George Pataki in New York Larry Hogan and Maryland don't tell me it hasn't happened it happens over and over and over and over you know what's not going to happen if you don't show up. Steve Hilton thanks so much you've been a good friend and an activist that really appreciate you taking on this cause thanks a lot. Thank you thank great to see you as well folks please show he's not kidding the math there go check the math yourself if the people who had voted Republican side of the ticket alone alone for fit every independent and Democrat in California by the way nobody's doing that because they're ticked off to the math alone in the case he can win don't tell me it hasn't happened it happens all the time it happens nearly every election cycle. Some blue state shocker were a really good candidate comes out of nowhere and shocks the system this would be volcanic so get out there bring 10 people with you please I know we're on a ton of stations in California now please spread the word you have a viable option for change as Steve said just try it. What's the worst can happen you don't like it you want to go back to high taxes no growth the lack of public safety then vote different for years you got a shot here.
