The World's Greatest Mic Drop | Jack Osbourne | Ep. 461

The conversation explores themes of financial accountability, personal growth, and emotional resilience through lived experiences. The speaker reflects on the disillusionment with accountants and financial advisors, describing them as often untrustworthy and overly performative, especially when compared to personal responsibility and self-awareness. Early financial independence at 15 fostered a deep sense of accountability, but also led to disappointment with professionals who fail to deliver on promises. Grief and loss are central to the narrative, with moments of emotional shock—like uncovering old voicemails—reconnecting the speaker to his parents’ legacies. These experiences are woven with broader observations on human vulnerability, from political systems to military traditions. The discussion extends to the rise of artificial intelligence, where the speaker sees both immense potential and significant risk, emphasizing the need for ethical oversight. Personal anecdotes—from survival shows to military service—reveal how trauma, identity, and power shape individual lives. Ultimately, the narrative conveys a deep skepticism toward systems of authority and a belief in personal authenticity as the foundation of resilience. The speaker finds meaning in acknowledging flaws, both in institutions and in himself, and believes that emotional honesty—especially in the face of loss—leads to genuine growth.

we'll do that live do you think he has a trustworthy face yeah i think he does yeah yeah he's got one of those like what would you buy from groceries um no i might buy like an app like some kind of financial planning app really yeah i thought you were gonna mean entertainment no no like uh like here i'll help you like organize your uh accounting for your taxes i mean it i mean it's good better than my accountants dude there's a lot of people and for a lot of uh reasons that i think you would understand that people would envy your position in life you've had a little bit of a rough last year which we'll get into yeah but in the family that you did um semi not very but semi recognizable last name like i said never really caught on in the u.s yeah it was just you know it's like to hasselhoff in germany totally you never you know there was no tv show around your family at the formative years in your life that probably created any additional stress or pressure yeah but it's uh we were talking about it today man there are problems regardless of the type of life that you are living broke completely broke living on the streets which i don't wish on anybody has a layer of problems the world that you live in and i love that we could sit down and talk about it because i have no interaction with it at the end of those conversations half the time i leave with i don't know if it is as enticing as it may appear from the outside yeah because we should definitely not get into the accountant issues but they were horrible yeah dude accountants are fucking evil but also necessary they are and i wonder if they made it that way i think it is i think well especially you know in in the time in which that i began earning money you know like 15 this is you're talking tv show tv show how do you even i'll assume that the amount of money was relatively good how do you how does the 15 year old brain comprehend that i was really i was kind of naive to a degree to it because i i was still living at home i started earning really i mean substantial money like seven figures when i was 15 years old and i didn't i didn't buy shit i wasn't like a super spendy kid like i wasn't did you need to though i don't know if you know this your parents probably do okay as well yeah but my parents kind of once we started earning once i started earning and like having money like it was funny like my parents were i'm actually very grateful for this like the moment i turned 18 my parents turned around and were like here's your cell phone bill here's your here's your health insurance this is this you're a man now you're 18 years old like this is you i think that's the way yeah i you and i both know examples of people where that wasn't the way and they never develop a sense of what would be the word maybe grounding in real life yeah no perception whatsoever no appreciation either just oh i misplaced something that's five six figures yeah whatever yeah fetch me another yeah yeah no and so dearest daddy fetch me another one send forces the briefcase of money yeah and then it happens but the funny thing there's such a public perception that like you know not that i ever engage in comments but it's like oh this you know or whatever it's like dude i've been i've been working so i was 15 years old and i've been responsible for that since i was 15 years old and like it's and you and back then there was no ai to help you with finances it was books there was like and so you consult specialists like accountants and lawyers and financial planners and you hope to find what is the simplest solution which is that person to be like hey i got you like don't worry i got you and it is the biggest i'm not saying they are all like this but my experience by and large has been very disappointing with those people do you think it's mostly word of mouth because i'm trying to figure out how you would test run an accountant you would almost need a year yes and maybe it goes great maybe it doesn't but then you would need to test run the accountant that you are going to have fixed those issues yeah i feel like it would be a lot of word of mouth it you know i equate it to dating like a psychopath that first year it's like oh my god this woman's amazing like she's doing she's cooking and cleaning and like she she's like the greatest girlfriend ever and she's there when i call her and and then it's like when when it's like that relationship is solidified and you and you're like oh wait this is turning into obsession like this person is trying to like she's watching you sleep from the end of the bed yes like this and waiting until you're not looking and then like just doing just doing like my man my lost accountant did me so dirty i was i was telling you and i'm still i'm still picking up those pieces it's terrible i wonder if y'all will have faith back in that system but but i almost think the key is the heavy-handed or heavy-handed enough approach where they know that you're engaged and involved because i feel it's the space and and you were saying that again i'm talking about a world i've never experienced but i was asking you in the circle of friends that you know when these people will approach you and just say hey just be the artist don't you just want to be you we'll handle everything but you've experienced it in a way that it might not necessarily be an accountant but people in business how they say one thing they're doing another or they're not doing what they say they're going to do it breaks your your trust in humanity 100 because you're like wait i trust you said i trusted you like and it's it's really hard to to kind of come back from that because it's i'm at the end of the day i'm you know the uncle sam is is calling me when there's a problem it's not like you know he's calling my accountant being like hey bro like they don't and you sign away they have you sign contracts which basically is like we are not responsible for any f-ups with the you know irs or you know whatever tax you know state tax board or whatever i wonder if you would see a doctor that made you sign those same type of things i don't know if you would yeah do accountants have accountants i think like the guy who screwed you over does he go to his buddy and say hey i need you to do me right because i did this guy dirty and i have to i'd have to hide this i think they just they just know the secret sauce how to hide it today's episode is brought to you by palooza how many of you have worked on your sleep you've dialed in your workouts you're managing your stress but the one thing you're not doing is paying any attention to your feet your feet have been holding you up this whole time while you're working on everything else waiting for their day in the sun did you know that each foot has 26 bones 33 joints and roughly 29 muscles yeah 29 muscles conventional shoes engage only a handful of those and the rest can sit dormant palooza's five toe slots restore natural toe splay and they have a zero drop platform which keeps the heel and forefoot on the same plane plus nine millimeters of cushion to protect the foot without doing the ground signal the nervous system reads for balance and position conventional shoes engage about three of those 29 muscles the other 26 sit dormant day after day year after year it's actually atrophy by a design you think bunions plantar fasciitis and hammer toes are genetics nope it's your shoes an internal study performed by palooza backs it up 89 of people report stronger feet 86 better balance and 76 less foot pain podiatrist endorsed built on biomechanics you train everything else why not your feet head over to palooza.com and use code cleared hot for 10 off back to the show oh man but i wonder does an accountant get more scrutiny from those agencies because they know they do they know as far as i know when it's when it when the federal government comes off to accountants they hold it's like we are not giving you any leeway we are coming for you because that's kind of fair yeah that's their profession yep i feel i feel okay with that yeah it's a dirty world man well first off you're never getting away from it even what you slightly unpacked we'll just call it the battlestar galactica of the family business holy cow dude yeah it's a lot you are not going to be done in a matter of weeks or months you're going to be done i think in a matter of years yeah there's a lot of wading through a lot of a lot of bullshit right now yeah how are you doing with it all i'm okay it's you know it's ups and downs um you know okay i drove out here with my buddy cole we were talking about the kind of just the all the kind of business side of things since my dad died it's kind of distracting from like the grief of it to where you're like oh god i'm like i'm grieving the loss of this you know important person but yet there's all this stuff we got to take care of and it's just this strange like when how do i focus my energy and it's so stressful i tried to check in on you but also give you your distance at the time it's uh it's tough man i lost my mom uh in my 30s and all i can say about grief is i don't think there is a journey or a path everybody is on their own walk with it and there would be times years where i would feel like i was very very well accustomed to my mom being gone one of the things that scrambled my eggs the most as i accidentally pulled up a voicemail from her years later holy cow and the fact that it was unexpected i don't know how i got onto it yeah that one pulled me back into it for a bit but i think it's okay to go through those seasons don't put pressure on yourself there's i mean again plus you guys there's a lot yeah And it, and like the cool thing is like, you know, I've had those moments where like some weird will happen, you know, like, I'm like, oh shit, no, like it'll pull me back into just thinking about my dad. And it's like, I'm okay with it. Like, you know, in a weird way, it's like, I'm okay with like the pain of it because I think it's, it's, it's, well, it's that, you know, that, that cliche, you know, the, what is it? The, the pain you feel is like a measure of how much you loved them. And it's like, it's like, hey, that's okay. It's the price we pay. I think you'll come to appreciate those moments. I have, because you will years from now, you'll live large portion of your day or week or month. It won't cross your mind as much as it does now. I've learned to appreciate those points where I'm a little bit stopped in my tracks and pulled into it. Cause it's, I mean, it's always going to be my mom, right? And I don't have the vocabulary for the impact that she had on my life, but also life happens. And now I'm a father to three children as well. And all the stuff that goes with that, it's, it's complicated. Yeah. I'm glad to see that you're doing well though. How long after that final concert did he pass? What was it? 17 days. Did you have any indication when you were there that he might have known he was coming to the end? The time, like again, random thing, random thing happens in life, but oh my, like you were saying at the coffee shop or at the, we're doing jujitsu, world's greatest mic drop. World's greatest mic drop. Ever. Yeah. I mean, holy hell. Yeah. Yeah. You couldn't write it. Yeah. I think I did. You know, I, I, there was a couple, I just had this feeling, you know, just weird. Well, you had dealt, ever since I first met you many years ago at origin camp, I think your dad was going through surgery the very first year. So it's not as if, and I see this, my own father who turns 80 in January, age is real. It's coming for us all. Not me, of course. I'll just live forever. Just keep, you know, doing what you're doing. But man, I mean, I can look at my dad, you know, for three and a half decades down the road and say, okay. And I do notice things and I notice more things. So, I mean, I know that time is finite. My father will pass at some point and it's, I know you were dealing with it for quite some surgeries and stuff like that. Like the nerve stuff. Yeah. Yeah. I had like a sense of it and, and we all kind of, I mean, he was so people, you know, we've spoke, I've spoken about this, but he was so sick leading up to the show. So much so that two weeks before the show, he went back into hospital in England and. Like pneumonia type sick or what? No, he, so he. He got, he, he took a fall and he fractured two vertebraes in his back and they went and did that like cement stuff where they like, you know, seal the bones. And he got sepsis in like January of 25 and sepsis when you're, you know, when you're sick and you're seventies, it's, it's amazing that he kind of pulled through it. And they had him on like IV antibiotics for like two months and it just rocked him. As it does. Yeah. And he just. He just had all these kind of cascading like issues and leading right up. The show was like on again, off again. It was just, it was ping pong. And two weeks before the doctor was like, dude, like you, you shouldn't be doing this. And he's like, I'm doing it. And, you know, it's, I, I kind of saw, you know, it, he wanted to do it more than anything. And it was like, okay, dude, like you're a, you know, like this is your journey. Like we're here to support it. Whatever you want to do. If you want to cancel it, we'll support it. If you want to go, like it's all in. And, and I just, yeah, he was like, let's go. And so, yeah. My mom passed about two weeks after I got home from my last deployment. Wow. And in talking to my dad and my sister, they both think that she was, and not negatively so, but holding on to make sure that she got to see me again. I wonder if there was an aspect of that for your father saying, I'm going to, I'm going to get through this. Mm-hmm. And then shortly afterwards for my mom, her decline was pretty precipitous. Yeah. It was, it was kind of strange because at the, so at the show, it's actually, it's the one year anniversary is like on Sunday. Is it really? Yeah, from the show. Of Jocko smiling for the first time? Of Jocko smiling. He was like when the Grinch's heart just, bink. He had to have been side stage or backstage, right? Here's the, here's the thing about Jocko. Like he socially engineered his way everywhere. Like he was like, oh, I'm going to go. I'm going to go. I'm going to go. I'm going to go up in the mix. Yes. On side of the stage. Good for him. Yeah, he was great, man. I, I loved, I was running into him all day and he just had this big old smile on his face. Good for him. Yeah, he had the best time. And I'm so glad he was there. He, but like that, so on the, what was it? The, on the Thursday before the show. So the show was on Saturday and they sound checked all the bands and stuff. And they did like a big photo shoot with everyone that was performing. And I was hanging out and in the, in the background. Backstage with a bunch of guys. And I was sat there with the guys from Metallica and lost was like, man, this is awesome. He's like, I love this because usually when, when it's like this kind of reunion, it's at someone's funeral. And, and I was kind of like, oh yeah, you know, but I was like, but this exact, I said something along the lines of, except this is like a happy day. And, and he was like, yeah, totally. And, and the, but it kind of was, it was like a bit of a living wake in a weird way. He saw people that he hadn't seen in 30 years and, you know, it got to say hi and get people hugs and yeah, it was, it's, it's a trip. It's a really kind of strange, like, did that just happen? Like, did that really, you know, and only, only he could have an exit like that. Like, come on. Like who gets to do that? Not me. Yeah. Like, not me. The outpouring afterwards as well was that had to have, as a family felt, I don't want to say comforting, but it had to have helped at least in some ways. In some way. Yeah. And it was, it was weird because I never thought it would be like that because I never thought of it. You know, you, I, I didn't ever think of, you know, I don't think anyone ever thinks of their parent passing and what will the public think? Because I'm not, that's just not in my, how will the public react to my parents? It's like, all I know is how I'm going to react. Yeah. You're always in a unique situation for sure. In comparison to almost everybody on earth. Yeah. And it was just like, I was just the whole time I was in the focus. For me, it was like, what's, you know, man, what's that day going to be like? And it was certainly not what I expected. Yeah. You, you actually, you weren't over in England when it happened, right? You were back in the US. No, no. Yeah, it was, yeah. It was rough. Yeah. I just got back and, but in a weird way, I'm kind of, kind of grateful in a way because I got to spend like a week, I got to spend a week with him at the house. Post-concert. Post-concert with my kids. And it was like, man, it was, it was great. It was, it was true. It was chill. He was, he was laughing. We were like, you know, in England we have the tabloid newspapers. So like every, you know, day after the show, there was like another article about the gig and like all these memes. And it was the first time he'd done a gig where, cause he wasn't on social media before he got injured. Cause he was like, why do I need to get, you know, be on social media? I guess. And so by this point he'd had, he had TikTok and Instagram and he was like seeing stuff coming through his feed. And he was like, it was like Instagram. Instant response. And so he was kind of like laughing at all, like, and like stoked at all the, you know, social media buzz about it. And it was just, yeah, it was funny. It was just like a, an interesting thing to see. And I remember I came, I came in, I had this newspaper and I was like, dad, look at this article. And I was just like, you know, gushing over him. I'm like, look, he's like, he looked at me, he goes, a lot of fucking good that does me. I'm retired now. When you say you're over in England, I just imagine you're on grassy filled estates with, with stone buildings, wearing top hats. Yes. Monocles. Monocles. A butler is bringing you a tray of paper. Your children are in three piece with tails. I don't know. Why does that come? I mean. But that's because how it is in England. Some of England. I mean. Some of England. Not our kind of England. Weirdos. You still have a king and queen. Yeah, we do. We do. Do they really have that much power anymore? I don't know. A part of me thinks that there's probably an element of influence because like they meet with the prime minister once a week, which is, there's got to be some kind of influence. There's got to be some kind of influence there. Like if the prime minister is going to do something crazy and I'm sure the king would be like, yeah, I don't like that. Like it's got to count for something. Do you think the prime minister could override what the king says? I think so. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, so they are. Well, if that is the case then, yeah, it's more of a status thing than an actual. It's like status and influence. Because, because in England we have like the house of commons and the house of lords and parliament. Lords. Lords. And like the house of lords is kind of like, I feel like that's a little more aligned with like. You know, British aristocracy, what it is, British aristocracy. Here's the crazy thing about lords. If you're a lord and you have a son, your son becomes a lord when you die. So you're automatically in the house of lords. What are they doing there other than reverse hand jobs? Allegedly. There is like legislation that they can pass and like certain, there is government things that they can do, but it's totally optional how much, to my knowledge, not that. Yeah. Michael, pull up a picture of the house of lords. I want to see, first off, I want to see what they're wearing. Are we talking powdered wigs? I don't know if they wear powdered wigs. I think it's a little more. Yeah. Oh wait, no, it is. Maybe it is. Yeah. You have like, you have. Sometimes the house of lords appears like people are on vacation. Holy shit. Look at the ones in the bottom right, Michael. Yeah. Look at them. Look at that. I just see that to me when I see that I'm thinking Tuesday, London. Do they go to Starbucks in that or do they have it to go? I just think it's insane that they wear that still. I was, that's what I was going to say next. I get the tie to the culture. I get that. historic nature of that but it's 2026 but i get here's what i do like though about like in like legalities we're like wearing the robes in court i like that because the the the reason why they wear robes is so every you know both the prosecution and the defendant's lawyers they all look the same so you can't so juries can't look at a lawyer wearing a fancy suit it's kind of like a it's like wearing gi and jujitsu well it's levels of playing field you can't have a guy show up in a 25 000 you know savile row suit italian yeah and the other dude's a public defender yeah half of their shirt untucked totally and chili it's like an even playing field yeah i mean in the age of we're maybe 10 years for working from robots now or for the robot overlords i think we can ditch the powdered wigs i think so i think so i think it's probably time yeah you know they're all like in england they're like i'll get rid of the monarchy i'm like why don't we start there why don't we start with getting rid of the powder rigs and you know i don't know i don't know i don't know but i i in england though i do i like the culture of the monarchy i don't necessarily like but i like that there's tradition there and i like that it represents that because i think tradition's important are you dual citizen i am a dual citizen yeah how does that work do you have two passports i do can you travel with both of them on you or do you have to okay yeah and i when i go to england i can like i have to enter on a british passport what would happen if you tried to enter on your american passport they don't like it and apparently they get weirded out by it yeah it's like i think it's some recently new law that got passed but i'm having like a weird thing i don't know why every time i come back into the country now i'm getting like pulled into like secondary screening and last time i came through uh immigration they were like oh it's because a guy has a similar name to you and we're just making sure you're not the guy and i'm like yeah but surely there's a picture of said guy yeah you know all the cameras that i walked by on the international terminal to get to the customs declaration point and the one you have me stand in front of those aren't good indications yeah exactly like i'm pretty sure i'm not like whatever the and they won't tell me the guy's name but i'm like this is this is getting annoying sometimes i feel like they flag people just because they want to meet them and talk to them yeah and it's not like they have to declare that what here's the crazy thing i went through i got pulled to like this because i have global entry they like pulled me to like the verification you do privileged yeah totally right because no one can get global entry only a select few yeah when i you know when i'm on my private plane and um economy plus you're privileged so when i i go through and they the woman was like oh sorry about this yeah no you're all good sends me through i'm getting my luggage and then over the speaker system can jack oswald return to the desk and i was like what the fuck and so i go back up and i was like sorry i have to take you to secondary screening i know you're not the guy but it's saying i have to take you to secondary screening annoying they're off to me man they're off to me i wonder why though if they were after you i know i've like i saw my bin jack yeah watch it i mean your internet search history has probably got you on a few lists as it is anyway just your love of ukrainian warfare all those videos god you got to be careful how deep you go down that rabbit hole man yeah it's uh yeah it's like i have to i do i do have to put myself in check in some of those like weird war videos like i go through spurts i am to a degree surprised that we have not seen a weaponized drone attack in the u.s by just from a crazy person well it nearly happened at the ufc i know it was reported yeah that it nearly happened i don't trust everything that i read see and hear uh i wouldn't doubt it i mean we were talking i'm not i'm here to give zero people ideas on what to do but let's just say the tech is it exists readily available if you have a credit card and an internet connection you could figure it out i'm surprised it hasn't happened and i'm not looking forward to the day that it does because i do believe it's a certainty but man i really think that changes things yeah no it's it's going to be a very strange day because it it's a matter of time man it's like because it's all anything that they're doing in ukraine has now bled into the middle east all those crazy offshoot of isis they're all doing it and pakistan and india it's like it is not a uh it's not an isolated you know tool being used solely in ukraine how big was the security footprint at the uh ufc it was wild it was wild there was like five rings of security to get to the actual mini arena that they built plus probably 10 you didn't see oh easily well the crazy once you got into the arena yeah there was these platforms all the way around and there was secret service and i i kind of get i thought that they were it was facial recognition technology because it was like this square box and it wasn't binoculars this guy was just going scanning everyone with this square little box thing and i thought maybe it was like a little box thing and i thought maybe it was some kind of facial recognition tech that they were like just snapping everyone's face i enjoyed the headline where you were accused of being a fascist for attending dude what world are we living in dude it's so insane i just thought it was funny at the end of the day i mean i like i was like really and like did your wife find it as hilarious she she did until they started saying things about like our kids and my dad and like that's when she and i was like babe just stop reading the comments because those people uh like you can't nothing i say or do or what you could never appease that population people either no no some definite some some bot farms are just yeah you know doing their thing but i listen man i had a great time and it was a an amazing experience so once you were in the inner ring of security did you have assigned seats or could you float around a little bit yeah assigned seats in between the fights and like commercial breaks there was a lot of people floating about and it was kind of wild because i looked at it and it was like oh this feels like the oscars for like the grammys for washington dc because it was every every person you see on cnn or fox just they were all just like broing out hard pass i don't think i would i have nothing to talk with those people no i didn't i you know there was a couple people i spoke to that were actually really nice and cool and i was like all right on like but i would me and my wife were just like it was just fishbowl for us we were just like looking at it all go down how are the fights in person they were they were rad and it was because it was such a small there was what three thousand people i think they said four okay so it was a small south one is not it it's tough yeah most people in the u.s actually confuse the capitol building for the white house because in most movies that they'll do that circular panning shot around the capitol building yeah and people think it's the white house the white house is not that big no nor is the south one no which as of today is getting a helicopter pad put into the south lawn and people are losing their shit oh wow well the grass was already dead oh interesting i see what's happened this is like a stratism there's a whole game plan here yeah so he's like oh my god i'm gonna go to the south but does the but does the helicopter pad open up and there's an underground layer that the helicopter goes into and michael make a note we'll have to edit that out we can't release classified information just because you've been there and obviously talk to people it's true yeah no it's uh no but it was the cool thing about it was i just kept having this moment with my wife where i kept looking at her and i'm like is this really happening i'm like watching guys beat the piss out of each other in the fights it was pretty quiet you can like you could hear this i mean you can see the blood spray i was like what's gonna happen if like blood gets sprayed on the you know on the president like is there like a like what happens there yeah but it was it was cool i i just a wild thing to experience just to be like yeah i watched men beat the shit out of each other legally you know on the south lawn of the white house every fight ended in a knockout that teporia gaethje fight dude bloodbath i mean i'm sure that guy will heal up but he left that arena looking a little bit different than he entered yeah and gaethje looked like he had just taken a nap yeah i don't know what his skin is made out of or his moisturizing routine but it should be studied i would buy a gaethje cream yeah i mean it just it just like just unicorn tears and uh fuck man yeah that was uh it was it was it was full on and the um but it was i mean man though just the whole whole event was so well and just call you up no what happened i have a friend whose with dana and i was just sat like just joking around i was like i was like yo text your boy dana and see if i can get into the fight and i thought he was he was just kind of being like yeah right whatever and he's like okay and he texted him and dana was like absolutely i'd like love to have him and i'm like i was like this is so cool and the one of something really funny so the superstructure that goes over that was over the arena uh sorry the the octagon that originally was built for you too really yeah and i just thought it was so funny that like you two lighting rig is what they used you two would be very upset very upset would be he would be very upset and his purple sunglasses somewhere i'm not a fashion icon so i'm not going to judge it i'm just saying i would i thought you were dude no leah is uh surprisingly still married to me even based off of the other day she came home i was wearing board shorts and cabaret boots and she just because i got a new pair of boots i was breaking them in okay she just looked at me and just said what what exactly are you doing right now i think you and i had a conversation about cowboy boots and you said i'm not a cowboy boot guy this was years ago though have you now become a cowboy guy well i went to an event at the medal of honor museum in arlington cool and the dress code was texas formal which i had to google and then i just asked somebody from texas and he said have you ever seen the show landman i said yes and he goes dressed like that it's like perfect so jeans cowboy boots collared shirt i didn't have a huge bell buckle big hat no i didn't feel comfortable with that i feel like that would have been stolen balor yeah so didn't go cowboy hat but i had an old picture pair of boots from maybe a decade ago, literally the first time I had worn them, but I had some boot envy when I was looking around there and I saw people there, the ostrich boots. Yeah. Son of a bitch. Yeah. It's a thing, man. It is a thing. Texas formal is very much a thing. Yeah. So I got a pair of boots after leaving there and I just wanted to make sure that they fit well. And I'd happened to be wearing shorts and a t-shirt and boots and Leah came home and questioned why she married me for that particular reason that day. Not that that doesn't happen often, but. I'm getting like a Vegas vacation vibe. Like, you know, the crazy uncle they go visit and I feel like he was wearing like cowboy boots and board shorts. I mean, it worked. They're comfortable. They're quite comfortable. They're easy. They're easy to travel on just because you can just slip them on and off when you're going through a little security. I haven't done that yet. I don't know if I have the confidence in myself to just wear them day to day. I'm not a rancher. I'm worried about rancher stolen valor. Yeah. You know, or a cowboy stolen valor. It's, it's, it's a thing. It is. Yeah. You know, I don't want to be the, uh, Tim Kennedy of cowboys. Oh, are we going there? It's already been gone. I saw a little, I saw a little blip where you, yeah. There's nothing, there's nothing to do other than God, I wish he would have taken a different tact, man. Yeah. That was, uh, it's kind of a weird move. Everything he had done was enough. Yeah. And I think a lot of people fall into that victim of that and they want to add to it or layer to it. And I don't know why, and I haven't asked him and talked to him since. Uh, I talked to him briefly before I put the very short episode out that I did just to let him know that I was going to haven't talked to him since then. So it's strange that, but you know, you, you kind of see it in, I think a lot, I don't necessarily think it's solely, I think there's more impact in it when a veteran does it just because of the implic, you know, what, what's involved with what you guys do, but you see it all the time in entertainment and in sport of like people kind of being like, I'm the man, I'm the man. And it's, you know, ego's a motherfucker. Ego is not your amigo. And it's easier said than done for sure. Yeah. It's what else you've been the news for. Let's see. People that you were dying of starvation. Yes. Yeah. Not true. Not true. They're like, Jack, what are you sponsored by? We go V or whatever those say. Well, you did a survival show in Island. Yeah, I did. I went into like the Australian jungle for like a month and was given like 500 calories a day to survive. Why are you doing this to yourself? I do. I had the best time. It was the best vacation I've ever been on, even though it was filmed the whole time. You don't know. Cause you don't see the cameras, but what do you mean? You don't see the cameras. They're all hidden. I mean, you know, they're there and like, you see, I mean, you see them, but they look like coconuts. Some, some are like literally look like rocks and you just see a rock like move. Okay. Hold on. What's the, is the show out yet? Yeah. Yeah. It was, it was, it's a win. No, I, I, I made it to like the second to last day. Yeah. But I had the best time because I had no phone. I had no email. I did not know what was going on in the news. I was like complete, you know, it was like being the most off grid. I've ever been while being the most on grid I've ever been because it's a live show every day. It was live every day. Yeah. All right. So what was the premise? So how do they even approach you with this? And why did you even consider it? Okay. So it's a British TV show called I'm a celebrity. Get me out of here. It's been around for 25 years. And I've always been like, anytime they've called, I've been like, no, no. And they called and it was a really great amount of money in December, right before Christmas. And I'm like, okay, presents don't buy themselves. Exactly. And I was like, I, you know, I called my wife first and I was like, do I do this? She's like, do you want to do it? And I was like, well, maybe she's like, okay, then do it. If it's a, maybe that's like more yes than no do it, you know, called my mom and she was like, absolutely do it. What are you crazy? And I was like, okay. And so I just went and I had such a great experience and it was, uh, was it, they were removing people or people would quit. You get voted out. So you're in for like 10 days, no matter what. And then at the 10 day mark, the British public. Public vote. And so you get voted out as it goes. Michael, pull this up. This is ridiculous. And it's like, it's like survivor meets, um, fear factor. Cause you've got to do these like crazy gross challenges. Like, you know, drink a smoothie made of like goat testicles. And dude, I went full, I went full, like. You went full something. What are we going to classify this at? Hold on. Are you wearing a fleece vest? Yes. Because as you know, in the jungle, it can get pretty cold. Yeah. A collared shirt underneath that. Cause you never know when you need to hop in a business meeting. A bandana of some type of urban camouflage. Of course your glasses. Duh. Yeah. You're not going to go contacts in the jungle. That'd be gnarly. Yeah. Did you have to create your own, uh, living quarters? They give you, no, they give you a living quarter and they give you, you win food. So like the more you get stars and each star, you know, uh, equates to one portion of food. So the more stars that people go out and win, you get. You get more portions of food. And like it, dude, but it was like, dude, it was, it was great, man. I had like, I was in there with people that some of them I had knew, knew of, uh, some I, you know, had met one, you know, one woman in there I'd met in passing throughout the years, but it was, it was great. It was so much fun. And I was, I admittedly was way too qualified to be in there cause I was, I've done enough outdoorsy shit to where I was like, this is fucking easy. Yeah. Um, but it, yeah, it was, it was great. Yeah. They didn't research you well. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The first time you and I met was at a shooting competition. Yeah. We were on the same team. I forgot that. Yeah. I thought we had met at origin, but no, I knew you from before then. Yeah. Yeah. That was fun. Yeah. They didn't do their research. No. I was like, this is. Justin Gaethje was at that same. That's when I met him as well too. Oh, he was, that's right. He was there. Yes. Such a nice man. Yeah. Yeah. That was. Hoist was there. Yeah. That was, that was a great event. I'm bummed that Sig stopped doing it. Yeah. The weather. I mean, basically we're fighting the fog of World War II. They didn't, did we start one station and then they stopped or did we not even start? We, they, remember they give you, we had the dry run day where they kind of give, show you all the courses of fire and they let you kind of get it. Yeah. And then the next day the fog rolled in. Yeah. Yeah. And then we stopped and started and. And that woman was in her shorts because that was her thing. Yeah. Yeah. What's her name? I don't know. Yeah. Survivor, survivalist. So, okay. You're out there. Can you destroy other people's lodging and steal their stuff? You can, you can start. In the past it gets shitty and people will do that survivor thing where they like, will, you know, click up and start talking shit and this, that, but I went in there with like, I was like, fuck this. Like, dude, I've done enough. I've done enough. Like call it like expedition type TV shows and done a lot of things out in the field where, you know, where it's like, um, the, uh, Jack just let me. Oh, I couldn't do that. I had to, yeah. What was it made out of? What was the smoothie made out of? It was like goat testicles and semen. It was like, whatever. It was horrible. The whole thing was horrible, but. Look at you. It's all tatted up. Yeah. Okay. And so all the voting power is from the viewing public. Yes. The people on the show don't have a say in it. No. Interesting. Yeah. And it's the, it's the biggest TV, biggest, uh, winter TV show in England. I disagree. The great British Bake Off is likely larger. Are you a British Bake Off kind of guy? I might have watched all of the seasons available on Netflix in a row. I'm very upset to hear that Prue is no longer on the show. Paul Hollywood. I've reached out to him on Instagram for advice on cooking. He hasn't gotten back to me yet. That's messed up. And now it's, um, it's, uh, who does it now? It's, um. I haven't seen any of the current ones. I only look, I basically binged through what was available on Netflix. No, it's this, it's this British comedian. He does it now. Instead of Prue? Yeah. And he's great. I think it's the same guy. Um. To be honest, I watched that show for the emotional crumbling and things falling apart. The cake's crumbling. Literally crumbling. Yeah. The cake's literally crumble, but watching people unwind. Are you, are you, do you like to cook? Are you a baker? I mean, let's be careful with the terms that we use. I am capable. I do enjoy cooking. I am not going to say I am a baker or have any real understanding, but I like cooking. Yeah. It's, uh. I like grilling stuff more than anything. I've never gotten into breads or, uh, pastries or stuff like that, but I need another hug. Have you ever eaten sourdough during COVID? No, actually. That was like a thing. I don't even know if I ate any sourdough during COVID. Where were you for COVID? I was in Los Angeles. Oh, so just the best place in the world. A hundred percent. Well, the crazy thing is during COVID, I was filming a TV show and midway through, I was, I remember seeing off to Christmas, like all the shit in China. Cause I went, I went on vacation and I'm like, watch it. They're like, oh, the city's in China. I've been shut down. And I'm like, this is, viruses spread pretty easily. Like. There's a thing called an airplane and like. And once it starts spreading, that's going to be tough to put a lid on. Yeah. And I, and I remember we, I called a production manager and the other execs and I'm like, Hey, can we call the insurance company and find out like what our coverage is if we get shut down to a pandemic? Like what's the deal? And they were like, well, what, what makes you think it's going to come here? And I'm like, they're shutting down cities in China. Like people fly to America from those cities that they've shut down in China. Yeah. So we, they. We called the insurance company and the insurance company was like, yeah, this has never really happened before. So we don't know. And I was like, yes, it has 1919 Spanish flu. And they were like, well, that was different. They, they had no foresight. It was wild. A lot of people didn't know a lot of things to include myself. I didn't know what the hell was going on, but I became very distrustful of every day. The people saying that this is exactly what's going on and we know why, and this is what we need to do. Yeah. Because I could just say yesterday, you said almost the same thing, but had different. guidance. And the day before that, it was something different. I'm suspecting, you don't know anymore than I do. You know, it's funny. I listened really early on into COVID. I listened to this. There was this New York Times podcast and they were interviewing some health journalist who's covered viruses for the last 20 years, like any kind of pandemic, whatever, from Ebola to, you know, swine flu. And it was the most accurate thing that maintained the entire time. He's like, people will have vaccine reluctancy. They're going to, the government's going to spin up a vaccine really quickly. But the way this is going to go for the next two to four years is like a little, you know, you'll step forward, you'll step back, you'll step forward. And he's, and literally what this guy said, and I was, it ended up being the most accurate thing. I don't know if there's anything new under the sun other than AI. I don't know what a historical model of that would be, but there are, would there, I mean, I think Michael, when was the release? Wright Brothers first flight, it's just over a hundred years. And then 60 years after that, we went to the fucking moon, allegedly. I believe that we did. There's a whole community of people that doesn't, I'm not saying we did everything that we claim to in the space program, but I'm pretty sure we went to the moon. I think we went to the moon. I just think the footage that we saw was not from the moon. December 17th, 1903. So we're talking 124 years at this point or 123 years at this point. 60 years after that, we went to the moon. So it's not as if, I mean, there was a time where there was no electricity. There was a time where, you know, there was no radio. There was no radio. So these things happen, but I don't know if any of those seem to have the societal impact of AI. So I don't know where that leads. I think it's, I think it's like anything, right? It's like the internet just in general, the internet can be used for some really cool things and it can be used for some really fucked up things. And I think that's just the way it's going to be with AI. And it's going to be this constant kind of battle of good and evil. But how do you keep up with it? I think you have to have good AI fighting bad AI. Yeah. That's, that's really what will happen. And you're seeing it, you're seeing it with like chat GPT versus Claude, like, you know, Sam Altman is kind of in this weird, like, yep, fuck it. Like, I don't care place of AI. And then you've got the folks over, you know, Claude and Google that are trying to be ethical about it. And it's, it's there. How much do you think that the heads of those companies, truly understand about their product? You know, there's a, I don't know if you, he's, he would be a good guy for you to get on, on the podcast. He's a buddy of mine, a guy named Conrad Flynn. Did you hear, you should go watch his Tucker Carlson. He, yeah, it was a couple, God, it was, it was last, it was like the week after Charlie Carr got assassinated. Did they immediately ignore him though? Because Tucker Carlson has now been key hold into this propagandist. And I'm not saying everything he said that is true, but it's fascinating to watch. The maneuvering of information sources. I think it got kind of, I think some of the stuff that, well, I think it was recorded before, Charlie, before Charlie Carr died. But a lot of what they talk about on the podcast is the, and this is where Conrad, like his area of expertise is the occult influence in entertainment in Hollywood and in Silicon Valley. And like, there's a lot of stuff that. What do you mean by occult? Like Satan worshiping? Yes. And like, and. Is it real? At first I was like, hmm. And then when you start listening to like, what Conrad lays out as far as who is citing what authors and like Sam Altman, what he talks about this, I'm going to, I don't remember this author's name, but there's a certain author who's a known occultist. His books are like, nope, this is like where this comes from. And like Sam Altman is like, that's my guy. And it's like this known thing. And supposedly in Silicon Valley that they're all getting down with some like weird. I don't know if it's to that point, but there is a lot of like occult practices with like divination and like weird ritual type stuff. Do you think that's crazy? Well, crazy, we'll put at the end, rich, influential people getting to a place where, because they can have and do anything, they start doing weird shit. It becomes crazy. A hundred percent. Or do you think they were like that before? I think it's a bit of both. I think you kind of have to be that kind of person that is curious about, okay, well, how far can I take my power and what can, what can help me take it to that level? Cause it's, you know, it's good. Well, the good versus evil thing is it's the first battle humanity ever saw. And so I think that just as you'll see people that get a lot of fame and power and money and they go, oh, you know, I'm going to, I'm going to become a philanthropist and I'm going to try and do good. And I'm going to lean into that. You know, there's not that many of them anymore, but I think there's, you get that same kind of personality is like, I want more power and what, what is going to give me more power? And it's, oh, have you tried this strange kind of dark art? I don't know. God, those have got to be weird clubhouses. Dude. Can you imagine the, like, cause I think a lot of the, those billionaires, I mean, what they can literally do whatever they want. If they have an island. Yes. If they have an island and a Rolodex with a lot of people in to invite to said island. But again, that Rolodex was also rich, influential people that I don't know, maybe it does life just get muted and boring when you can do anything. You know what I, you know what I kind of, in talking with Conrad, I kind of landed at like, it all comes down to sex. It literally all boils down to that. All these guys who are these big old nerds like Michael and. Totally. Except for the billionaire aspect. Unless you are, you need to, I would like some royalties. Yeah, that you know of. You know, it's, they, I, the one thing that they, you, they eventually go, well, I never really got a lot of, a lot of ass, so I'm going to stop buying it. And like figuring out how to like get into that. I think, I think sex is a driver for a huge amount. Of like the crazy shit that, that has gone on. And I would say it's a huge driver for all humans to a degree. But yes, I think if you were, let's say in the chess club versus the starting football quarterback, there's probably a asymmetry in ass appropriation. Yeah. So yes, you get to a place then where. Yeah, it is not apples to apples. Yeah. Then you arrive at a place where you could look probably and just be a, an absolute slovenly example of a person, but you have 11 figures associated with your name. You might be beating it off of you with a baseball bat or just wearing robes, you know. Doing weird stuff. I feel like the cucking chairs are very ergonomic, you know, the finest leathers. I mean, God. It's, yeah, man, it's like, it's, it's a, you know what I'm waiting for, here's what I'm waiting for. I wonder if it will happen. When is a billionaire going to buy a decommissioned aircraft carrier so he can land his fricking private plane on it? I don't know if they would let them. I do really. Michael, will you please Google if you can buy an aircraft carrier? I mean, the USS Intrepid is a museum in New York City. There's one, the Midway is in San Diego as well. Yeah. So, I mean, someone's got to own that, whether it's a nonprofit or, because I don't think the government. That is a good question. I wonder, yeah, I wonder who does own those. I feel like they were probably gifted. God. You cannot legally or practically buy an, well, what if it's not operational? Also, though, Elon Musk as a trillionaire, which is a number I don't understand, I feel like he could build his own. His own? He doesn't need it to be weapons grade, but he could build an aircraft carrier. And why couldn't he have a nuclear powered boat? He, I mean, if you want to talk about somebody who has the means and the capability and the, not himself personally, but access to the people who could do it. Yeah. For sure. What do you think about AI data centers in space? That is. Yes, it is legal possible for a civilian to purchase a decommissioned aircraft carrier. I'm thinking combined collaborative joint GoFundMe with you and I. I think we should. You know how, what's his name? That comedian, Skeet, Pete Davidson, he bought a boat, like a comedy boat. He did? Yeah, he bought it. Oh, they bought, it was the, it was the, I want to say barge, but that's. Yeah, it was something. It's neither a boat or a barge. Yeah, it was some ferry. He bought a ferry. That's what it was, yeah. And I'm like, yeah, so him and Colin Jost bought a ferry. Why can't we buy an aircraft carrier? Michael, we're going to do a GoFundMe. First, let's see what the going rate is currently. What is our entry level? We might have to add another tier to your Patreon. I think so. I think so. Or maybe we might need to bring some other people in. You know, I think we find. The problem is I bet the catapult wouldn't work. So you could land your airplane on there. Getting it off would be a bitch. I think. Well, what if you engineered your plane to allow it? Helicopters. Let's just skip the airplanes. Yeah, or you get an F-35. I don't think you can buy an F-35 yet. Yet. They need to go through the decommissioning. I mean, people are buying Blackhawks. Yeah. And some of those things are going for just a couple hundred thousand dollars. Mind you, you're going to spend millions getting it back up to speed. Yeah. But the fact that you could buy a Blackhawk Hulk for $400,000. Yeah. I think we could convince Evan to move the Black Rifle headquarters. Yeah. To an aircraft carrier. Just like S.H.I.E.L.D. in, you know, Avengers. Why not just become S.H.I.E.L.D.? i think we're really making some headway at first i thought michael and i had discovered the first metahuman and it was the man who ran through the security checkpoint at the correspondence dinner they realized we were watching a camera with an ultra low frame rate but the first time i saw it i watched it several times like i was less interested in that and more in the shooting and more and it's like it's the flash yeah we've identified he got caught and was stripped down nude um shortly after he went out of frame and that it was just the frame rate of the camera yeah that was that was that was weird that crazy people do crazy things they really they will always find a way to do crazy things the secret service is getting speaking of helicopters that is a very i mean that's a huey i can tell are you having flashbacks from nam no that's i guarantee you that are you going to be like comet looking out the window with the rain no it's the um fire service has one at the city airport that particular rotor whop though which the listener isn't going to be able to hear it's just funny we're talking about military stuff and a huey's flying by so absolutely 100 that's a huey are you getting like a huey boner right now first helicopter i ever did a flight and was a huey actually yeah cost me a case of beer as every first thing does in the seal community but don't get in trouble drinking and driving okay no big deal yeah very conflicting messages interesting the operations officer on friday would give you a safety stand down speech on responsibility and not getting duis he had three by the way and um and then say not as i do well then it would say all right you know kegger starting at noon we'll do a we'll do a conditioning run and uh swim we'll do a run swim run and then let's get the volleyball nets set up uh in the grinder and then let's get the kegs out and you guys you know don't be the first to leave it's like bitch i drove here how do you expect me to get home after your safety stand down speech of don't drink and drive what if you don't drink is it like really are you kind of looked at like a loser in the seals if you don't it depends the personality would get you a long way um there'd be pressure and i can only speak for the era that i was in i've heard that it has actually shifted and now far more people don't drink than do in the era that i joined in the late 90s pressure would be applied not a hold you down drink pressure but there would maybe be a little social ostracization yeah you know do you think now that they kind of you know they're like oh okay and how do you identify i don't know i have heard some of those policies have permeated all the way into the military and i've heard from other people that although they tried to you know they're like oh okay and how do you identify i don't know i have heard some of those policies and the policies exist nobody gives a shit so i don't really know yeah do you ever get asked to go and like speak to like bud's classes that are graduating or anything like that no no i'm not the guy for that yeah i would actually just recommend you i'd say just call jack just completely make up a speech well i mean there's others that have no it's uh i'm happy to be geographically separated from the community not that i dislike the community but it's nice to just be able to focus on life outside of that as well too i think they completely tore down and rebuilt the training facility as well too i believe it's still in the same spot but all new i think they moved a pool over to the other side so i actually probably wouldn't even recognize it anymore i got to go to coronado once with a friend of mine um and he he was doing a he kind of he came from your world and he was doing a stint there before he went up to alaska to do some teaching and there was a bud's class going and he brought me in and i'm walking around and i'm looking at these guys and i'm like wow that's like a child he's like 18 year old kids like that was me baby faced no stubble like i would be surprised if they've ever actually shaved i was like wow like yeah man that's crazy to me when i went back as an instructor that's how i viewed the students too and many times i sat and wondered if i just assumed that all instructors view the class as that because it is it there are older people mid-20s uh happens occasionally but yeah man they're they're young and uh they're getting after it i can appreciate that for sure totally yeah i mean dude to be 18 and being like nope i'm gonna go do that and you know some see it through yeah like that's that takes some that's a that's a that's a strong head or lack of intelligence in my case just no better plan b really just like okay i didn't have a plan b which is not necessarily what i would advocate and say is responsible but i would also say be careful how sexy your plan b sounds yeah because the buds instructor's role is to remove all hope and to make you think that all of your other options are more enticing than graduation and we have effective tools did you ever come close to being like fuck it i'm out i'm done i don't remember ever feeling that way i mean for me we're talking almost 30 years ago and the body has an amazing ability to round the edges of painful experiences so i have i've fleeting memories of training at best but i don't remember ever getting to that point at some point the people who quit become an incredible amount of motivation for you to keep going yeah and that can be a harsh thing for people to hear but that is the reality if you are able to accomplish things that others can't and you want to go down that pipeline it's just a log that's thrown on your fire yeah it's funny like i you know doing you know climbs and different adventures and stuff that i've done like i i sometimes i have these moments where where i was like i have a really nice warm bed not very far from here yeah and if i just go i'm done i could be in that warm bed and it's like that's such like a corrosion yeah so you could be a buds instructor because basically we say the same thing just in different terms you know foldable tables with steaming hot hot chocolate on them don't you'll do that oh yeah and you'll tell the entire class as they're doing surf conditioning in the middle of night we just need one person to quit we'll stay out here just one and whoever does you can pick however many donuts you want you can have all these you can pour this hot chocolate on yourself if you want to but just one and then you'll get one eventually and then and then the goalpost shifts a little bit maybe two and it just wow yeah that's so and but it's all mental but is it a thing as an instructor are you is it kind of just like well how long will you let that go for so what the students don't know but i'm sure they figured out in the internet era is that the training is actually very regimented there are cold water immersion tables there is a precise amount of time what the students don't see especially at night well we'll turn them around and we're on the beach as the instructor staff that all the vehicle lights are pointed in their face yeah what they don't see is a fleet of doctors mds looking at all of the students they don't see somebody off to the side on one of the flanks with a thermometer in the water to check exactly how what the water temperature is because we're going back to an excel spreadsheet because if you go beyond that the instructor staff will get in an immense amount of trouble and oftentimes especially in the evenings the leadership is there because that's when people just start ejecting but there's a lot of people that are going to be in the water there's an immersion timeline and then you have to get them out of the water so all these sessions where we're trying to entice them with treats or blankets or whatever somebody's got a stopwatch and we're fucking with them until the appropriate amount of time then they're going back in the water anyway yeah and they'll be in and then out and then it's you can only do it a certain amount of time but again the job of the instructor is to remove hope so of course the narrative is gents this is all we have on the schedule for tonight this is the only thing we're Total lie. And then you can set up for them a game that they think that they are winning. It's a super stupid game. Like what's the head count for your class right now? And they get it in the timeline. Okay. Because you guys got that right. We'll go ahead and move on. Actually, the reality is we're at the bottom of the Excel spreadsheet and it's time to move on. Wow. But you don't know that as a student, it is so chaotic. And by that time, especially during hell week, you're probably by Tuesday, you're a little loopy, if not a lot loopy. And towards the end, as a student, you think you're moving at this incredible rate of speed. And when you augment the hell week classes as an instructor by Thursday, Friday, it is so boring because they're moving at the pace of a corpse and they think they're just running as fast as possible, but it looks like an almost dying person because they're almost dying. Yeah. Yeah. And then it's just about keeping them awake more than anything. And they feed you guys pretty good though, right? Every six hours. I mean, you can eat as much as you want. Wow. And you're still- Still going to lose weight. Yeah, of course. I mean, you're probably burning seven, 8,000 calories a day. Not like you, of course, sponsored by big GLP-1. Yeah, it's just like, I did a neck. You are the lightest I've ever seen. Yeah, no, I'm dude, I'm- You're active as hell though. I mean, we just got done, did it, you know, an hour and 45 minutes of jujitsu. Your jujitsu felt great by the way. Definitely. I'd say you're a brown belt. Yeah, thank you. I think your coaches are just holding your back. They're holding you to a standard. They're not holding other people too. It's not fair. Well, you know, it's, hey, listen, I trust my coach. He is the, he is, hey, hey, Yoda, you, you, when you say, you say. Good answer. Yeah. That's a good answer. You can tell me the truth afterwards when the- No, Chris is awesome, man. I love Chris. He's the best. How awesome is jujitsu though? Oh, dude, it's the best, man. Like I, I mean, we were just talking about like, I, I'm, I wish I started younger, but I'm so glad I found it when I found it. Cause I think I, it's, it's kind of become one of those things that I needed the most kind of, especially in this time in my life of like having the ability to go somewhere three times a week and just feel physical, just like the squeeze. It's just, yeah, it's the best. It is the best. Where, where, where do you, cause you were just saying like, you, you kind of feel like as a, as a black belt, you're now kind of in that like honing phase. Do you feel like, do you feel your game has shifted in the last couple of years? I would have to ask the people that I roll with. I can say my approach to my game, has shifted what I'm working on right now is earlier recognition of when I need to let go and move on to something else because you can really get ahead of people if you don't hold on too long yeah and just trying to use try to i'm trying to accomplish more with less which is a concept that was expressed to me as a white belt it didn't really grab a hold of it at that point it was let's just do more with more which is exhausting and that's how your knuckles get all tore up i mean i i take a lot of grips when we're playing gee stuff but also i i don't death grip it i'll let people break my i just don't care yeah um i found it to be more sustainable but and also i guess i would say i'm working on instead of trying to do something trying to recognize what is available based off what the other person is giving me yeah as opposed to trying to impose your will and it's it's been interesting um i've seen in the last six months more not that i can execute the opportunity but i in my head oh i never thought about doing that there because i was trying to force something else yeah it's been a cool journey yeah so you yeah people who are in a rush to get their belts i'm here to tell you there's not actually anything at the end of that yeah yeah no i'm like i love being a purple belt it's like been i've had i've learned the most i've like really like i've just enjoyed it yeah only derrick moneybird can get his belt in two years which you were saying this is true you trained with him and gave him your stamp of approval he is i have not trained with him no i'm just making things up oh yeah well i listen i i mean listen the people that gave him his black belt i think i think that's the conversation it's not necessarily with him it's like okay like let's talk about why why and how and if you guys you know explain why he's a black belt or he could put up one video of him doing a live role yeah i haven't i haven't done that much research into it i have done any yeah that's something i've heard other people say yeah this is probably true yeah maybe there is i don't know i hear michael singles flying over there so it's um but like yeah i mean listen there have been people that got it i mean dude you got it quick you got it what six five five and a half five and a half okay i mean that's quick but you were also doing 12 to 14 sessions per week a bunch of privates in between and when i had to travel i mean when i was at blue belt i was doing an hour private then taking travis's class then doing open mat so i would do three hours straight wow and i would do that six days a week if i could and then sometimes i would come in the morning and then go in the evening as well too to double dip on the classes plus open mats on saturday and sunday oh you just you got the bug dude you were just it was awesome i'm fascinated by the fact you can't master it and also yeah i was really enjoying not thinking about my divorce at the time it was a helpful tool to utilize and put my energy into to just not think about being reduced to an excel spreadsheet as two lawyers argue between your worth as a human being not that you've ever had to go through something like this right god but i remember like how do you even describe it it's the fucking worst well all right that was like the first thing we connected on on that yeah on that shoot and the the the the hunting yeah challenge what was it called it was called the six hunter games that's what i thought yeah and uh yeah we were that's what we should we spoke about the most was just like how brutal divorces fuck man it's the worst man do not recommend 10 out of 10 don't recommend i did not think i was going to get married again i am so thankful that i found leah and got married to her i i say the same thing to my wife i when i met her i was like i'll never get married again just so you know and then yeah yeah i think it's about finding the right person 100 is yeah yeah and for clarity when i mean i got married when i was 23 the first time i think back then i probably told myself that it was the right person i just couldn't have figured the difference in who we would be and what our relationship would be almost 20 years later wow yeah 19 years and 11 months wow we were married wow yeah i wasn't i wasn't that long i was about seven seven years with my first wife and i don't think it makes it any easier that uh was the end amicable or no no but we're good now we're like we're chill now like we you know she's we text often she's you know we we have 50 50 custodies with my three oldest kids and yeah it's it's great like she's good with my wife and yeah we're all good like it's no it was a definite readjustment okay what's this new baseline how does this relationship work you know i did some shitty things she did some shitty things and it's like all right we're good now like we got it all out of our system and we know that like okay the kids come first how do we co-parent and we're good now and serve them best how old are they now uh 14 11 uh eight and then i have a nearly four-year-old and a newborn you're so fucked yeah and they're all girls what all girls did oh your life is over yeah pretty much pretty much it's like yeah it's it's over in the most like abundantly loving way possible how's that 14 year old doing she's amazing but she's 14 and i'm like i don't know what to do with her i don't know what to do with her i don't know and i'm just like i'm like okay like i don't i don't i don't force anything if she's just being like i'm like all right that's cool i mean we can both attest to being a young man and you know testosterone is just flowing out of it's just like if you were to fill this cup it's just all over the table having now my daughter is 18 now she just turned 18 and uh wow the 13 through i'll just say today yeah they're man complicated little devils yeah and it's like the thing with with pearl is but she's such a rad human at the same time like she can be like so mean and like uh and like you know but then she'll come out with something so funny and cool and like just is this very she's not your typical like la girl like she's listening to like awesome music and she plays bass and she's like got this amazing like mane of curly hair and like she's just awesome and so even though she can be horrible to me i'm just kind of like whatever you're awesome like are you ready for her to be driving um we've we've talked about it uh sort of i asked i'm like what kind of car do you want she's like i want a hellcat i was like nope starter car yeah hellcat i was like i'm getting you a volvo there's you get something slower than that a smart car get her a account to way go v or whatever those drivers those cars yeah like yeah exactly like the the the drive you car yeah waymo waymo yeah she but she's yes but you know she asked me the other day because she's going into high school she's like are you gonna be cool if i get a boyfriend and i was like okay yeah we should have that conversation here's the rule like i don't mind you dating a freshman uh or uh you know what is off the freshman sophomore sophomore that's fine no juniors no seniors because that's weird and i'm like and here's the deal when you when you start dating he needs to come to open mat at my gym let me know when that day is uncle andy will swing yeah for totally just like yeah that's that's my rule to her yeah it's funny i actually got that from talking to a guy at uh at origin i was talking to this guy there and he's like i've got four daughters this is what i did and i'm like that's a great idea it's good for them to know that if you wanted to you could break them off yes it's actually essential for them to know that because young men again as you and i went through that phase think that they are largely impervious to things until you feel helpless especially like young guys in la that are just like riding around on their e-bikes and just you know they wear really tight i was just there like i said for mike rose thing how do you get into skinny jeans well it's fun dude the skinny jeans are kind of going away now it's super baggy jeans now people are back in like jinko jeans and like real baggy stuff i understand the baggy ones feel like they're easy to get into i feel like some of these are spray painted on and i'm not sure what we're is this like hey ladies check out my bulge and calves or what's got what is the need for this i don't know i've never been like a tight jean guy i just i've never they are uncomfortable it's like like get me out of this like no not my vibe but you were a seal i'm sure you wore tight jeans no i had good hair i mean that part obviously fantastic look chiseled figures or yeah and no it's board shorts flip-flops and t-shirt okay mandatory baseball hat with sunglasses okay yeah would none of us ever looked alike you would never be able to pick us out in a crowd but yet you would be able to pick you out in a crowd because we all wore the same goddamn shit frog tattoos and tridents yes that is a very do you have a trident and or a frog tattoo i used to have a frog tattoo i covered over with my sleeve okay yeah i know i wanted to uh and some people have said you know why would you do that and i have to remind them i can get another one if i want to i've already earned the opportunity to do that and it's not something that i'm not proud of but i also don't want to always look down and see that or be that yeah so i thought for me i thought it was a healthy step just over the last actually i probably haven't seen you since i had that yeah i had to do a three-quarter sleeve what is it all it's just artistic you know representations of life in and of itself okay nothing super crazy yeah what are you gonna do what do you got next okay well like you said though i mean so you have a there's let's just say that behind the scenes of whatever professional you want to do you got years of sorting the other stuff out yeah in addition to that we'll scrape that off the table what else you got we're doing my dad's movie at sony studios so that's all who's playing him uh yet to be kind of secured but we have someone in mind um who and why is it chris hemsworth it's it's definitely chris hemworth it's either chris hemsworth or the rock we're kind of like we're torn um no we've i can't really say because they don't like that you know they like to do the big announcements but you know we've had a bit of communication with his team and seth definitely interested and he's a really great young actor and he's a really good actor and he's a really good actor and um but it's life story i'm assuming of your father yeah yeah so it kind of it yeah it kind of tracks you know life story but kind of surrounded by like him and my mom's relationship and and it's not like a fluff piece like we kind of you know we pull we don't pull punches on it and it's he didn't seem to really either no you know yeah so we're working on that like very much like I'm very much involved in that we're doing a whole bunch of you know we're bringing back Ozfest which is the festival that we had for years who's gonna play you who's gonna play me god who would play me that's a great I haven't honestly haven't even thought of it because we're in it for like we're like background well you're gonna need multiple for you and for your dad probably too depending on the the era well yeah the main focus is gonna kind of be the bulk of the film is like 80s to kind of mid 90s so you're gonna need young you yes child me yeah yeah okay yeah I'll uh yeah that's uh but we're kind of just like we purposefully put it to where like kids are kind of background like yeah and the kids are playing outside while something's going on inside I don't know your story let's see what was it you were supposed to be in rehab but you were running drunk to your neighbor buddy's house oh yeah that's right yeah yeah I forgot I forgot I told you that story just because your dad was doing some wild shit didn't mean the rest of you weren't doing some wild shit yeah there was a lot of wild shit man there was a lot of wild shit back then how did you survive that dude I honestly think it's cause I got sober I got sober young and I like it like I took to it and I really like dove in to just recovery and it it was I and it but I think what really kept me in was like the community of like recovery like I was lacking that I was lacking like a solid group of guys that didn't necessarily care who I was what I did and where I came from it was just like hey we're all just kind of figuring life out what do you think the driving factor for the sobriety was did you realize you wanted to change your station in life or trajectory it was a lot of things you know it was it was the realization that like this can't go on like this only leads to one you know well you know as they say in you know in 12 step recovery jail institutions or death like that's that's really the outcome of this and I didn't want that I I really liked the kind of I liked that I figured out how to have fun sober and I liked my the the community I was in it just it was a bunch of little things that stacked up to where being like okay this is worthwhile and I need to put the work in to maintain it and and that and then there's the there's the spiritual solution component to it which you know I went you know I got sober as like a diehard atheist and kind of you know when you kind of go through it and you start to kind of experiment and dip your toe into whatever kind of spirituality it's you're like okay like there's something to that and it yeah it just I took to it yeah did you have to reinvent your social circle big time big time yeah I'd imagine it'd be very difficult if you were trying to be on an island of sobriety surrounded by everything else yeah and it just it wasn't attractive to me anymore it you know and I I didn't I would still go out and like get up in the club in LA at the time and I had but I went with you know a posse of sober guys and we just had the best time ever and it and that was figuring out how to have a crazy amount of fun I think is what kept me sober and then as I you know a few years after getting sober I found climbing and then I started doing all these adventures and making these adventure shows in England and it just was like I was like man this is like this is fun and you've been in an entertainment space for a long time okay so you got the biopic for your dad what else you got going on still doing my podcast my YouTube stuff and just yeah I'm just kind of like sometimes I see your stuff and then sometimes it seems like you take a break do you take a break in production so I was yeah I was figuring out I was figuring out the system like okay what's the you know how does this I did have for the longest time I had this production company and then I shut it down just because you know the cost of funding a TV production company to make content digitally the it just it wasn't apples to apples and so financially just didn't make sense and so I kind of shrunk my footprint got into business with a new production company doing all my my content who were awesome and yeah I've just been a little more consistent with it still doing some paranormal stuff doing my my interview podcast but I'm just I'm at a place now where it's like I have zero full-time employees everything's like contracted out I'm keeping it lean and mean and it's awesome like I'm like hey this is great you also have a good Rolodex of people to pull from I do you have a fascinating intersection of your life in the personal and professional stuff that you've done yeah like we out in the military world you know a tremendous amount of the same people that I do which is kind of weird it is weird yeah which I didn't realize until we started chatting at that SIG event but yeah so you have the the public-facing names that people would recognize and they'll tune in for it but you also have yeah a ridiculous of behind-the-scenes yeah like all the Black Rifle guys we go back years like yeah like since day one of Black Rifle when it was out 15 like I've known those guys and shit you know Tyler yeah has he done fucking his life up yet or is he still in the middle of that Tyler's doing great good yeah god what a fucking train wreck I saw some random posts from him here I am Christmas Eve at an airport and I went no further because there's nothing good that comes from a post like that and I didn't reach out but I was like dude what are you doing Tyler's doing all right he's hanging in there yeah I think he's living in Vegas again and yeah he's doing good and he's getting some projects off the ground and so love Tyler though you know we were roommates yeah that had to have been a journey through space and time yeah that was yeah that was that was funny a lot of video games yeah what's your goal with your podcast you just like sitting down and chatting with people yeah I like sitting down and chatting with people I'm not like I'm not like obsessed with you know I don't obsess over the numbers of like oh this guest had this man I need to kind of I don't chase I don't chase clicks it's so healthy yeah it's I think there's a lot of it's a lot of wasted energy I just enjoy the conversations I have and then I've got this paranormal kind of side that I do I kind of have two podcasts and where I just retell these like famous paranormal cases and I have a lot of fun with that and it's super easy and like it's just yeah I want to be I'm trying to make it as simple and as lean as possible what's the most compelling paranormal story you've encountered for myself or heard both okay so for myself man I've had things where I actually just told this I was doing a live stream and someone asked me that I had this thing happen there was a couple things actually I brought my mom on this paranormal investigation at this haunted hotel and where was it it was just near Ojai in in California and we were doing this experiment it's called the Estes experiment where you put like noise cancelling headphones on and a blindfold and you just kind of sit quietly and you just kind of whatever comes to mind you just like spew it out but the craziest thing my mom went into this and this is not bullshit she went into this very strange like trance where she slowly over four minutes like basically it was like someone was powering down her body and she slumped back in her body back in a chair completely out she stopped breathing I had to give her resuscitative breaths what yes craziest shit I've ever seen we have it all on camera over four minutes she slowly passes out and okay step one don't do that again with your mom hell no I was like you and we are never doing this again we rushed her to the hospital ambulance came they did every single test imaginable she had MRIs CAT scans blood work they hooked the electrodes up to her head the only thing they found was that she was slightly dehydrated and I was like I've never seen anyone slightly dehydrated stop breathing yeah maybe they cramp a little bit yeah so there was that I've had things like objects move in front of me you know kind of throw things out like hey make that move object to move I've had things where I've said what type of object like a there would be a bowl on a table granted we you know hey someone could have opened a door it could have made it roll we kind of checked it all I've had flashlights turn on on command where we're like alright there's a flashlight there make it turn on I've got a video of that actually I can show you and obviously the switch was in the person's shoe duh remote detonator duh I had something while I was telling this story I was at my house in LA and the way the way the house was laid out was if I was looking at the TV it was above the fireplace if I looked down the hole the door facing me was my kid's bedroom and I was sat there and I was kind of dozing on the couch and the door was fully shut because I was watching TV I didn't want to wake the kids kind of dozing and my wife had got up and she's like hey I'm going to bed when you finish you know don't sleep on the couch so I was like alright so I was finishing this TV show and I look because I hear the door opening I hear the handle turning and I was like just kind of sat there and I thought the door would open and you know one of my daughters would emerge and like daddy I had a night whatever sat there and I just see the door open the door slowly open very very very slowly and I'm like just horror movie speed yeah full horror and I'm watching this like I get the chills telling this story and I'm looking and I'm waiting waiting for my kid waiting for someone to come out I walk and I'm like what the fuck I walk into the room I get ice cold and all I do is I say I just said get the fuck out I don't know who you are I don't know what you are get the fuck out of my house And I honestly get the chills telling that story. It was the weirdest. craziest just i can't explain i shut that door i heard the handle go i sold the dough now it could have been a kid sleepwalking opened up the door sleepwalking then climbed back into bed i went in there calling out one of the names i was like andy you know mini like what's up nothing they were fast asleep snoring you should have gone in there and said i accept your invitation i'm here to party my safe word is pineapple let's go i mean if somebody was trying to communicate with you yeah don't tell them to leave they didn't get their message well no i was like because my thing was like hey that's my safe space like you're not in my i don't want you in my safe space i certainly can't explain a lot of things but i i don't like watching horror movies because of the ridiculous nature of that and it's the music that gets you and the jump scares and yeah yeah i don't need to live that have you seen the i'm sure they're on youtube but the instagram videos of the spouses then they're only doing this to men and this is super fucked up but i'm also here for it essentially it's a chucky doll but it's battery controlled and so they'll put an inanimate object on the couch and set up a camera and it'll start to move and the level of losing that's amazing that is amazing michael if you can find these it's absolutely worth it there's there's and it's always the same because they catch a little movement what is that and then sometimes they'll go back and then they catch it again but if they see it move on their own it is like a levitation out of the seating or laying position that they're in and they're gone yeah yeah let me see here no oh how many of you out there spend time thinking about your body's natural collagen production yeah i don't either and we probably should because getting older it hits pretty hard and it happens to all of us stiff joints in the morning longer recovery after workouts skin losing that smooth glow these are things that everyone deals with at some point and it directly ties into your body's natural collagen production which begins to decline in your mid-20s for those of you who don't know even what collagen is it's a crucial protein that provides structure and support to your muscles joints and skin it's often referred to as the glue that holds our bodies together this is where bub's natural collagen peptides come you and enjoy the difference that their product makes in your life back to the show that's so funny i mean she's handling it pretty well she's handling better than i would i would kick that thing you have never seen anything levitate uh did you ever have any like weird spooky shit when you were in the military single thing really not that you know we could turn day into night so the the shadows and you could just see you know sitting on that couch if all the lights were off but you've looked through nods plenty of times you know i'm talking about you can see into the room yeah you would have seen somebody if they had their hand on the knob so it's not that there's not scary things that happen at night but it's less scary when you're looking at it through a green or a white tube yeah you know i can't think of a single thing that was unexplainable in that way yeah i can't think of a single thing that was unexplainable in that way what about aliens you had to have been area 51 i wish no i have talked to you though pilots who flew in and around area 51 and i do understand i think why people that are out there looking for stuff see stuff because if you catch the right pilot at the right time they'll tell you stories about deviating from all approved flight protocol to like low buzz people and do stuff that would be unexplainable especially to the naked eye at night and you know you want an f18 misses you by about six feet that's it comes ripping around and surprises you and you don't hear it coming or you know there's weird stuff there do you think you do you think that i mean i'm sure you've met some people that like have had first-hand experience at area 51 do you think there's yes but i still am waiting to see an actual demonstrable piece of information i the way i view it i from my understanding humans barely have an idea or an approximation of the known size of the universe safe to say it's massive almost like head exploding massive i think it is statistically improbable that we are alone yeah and i actually think if aliens showed up assuming independence day is not the movie we're talking about where they destroy everything it would i think it would be net positive for humanity because maybe instead of fighting each other we could come together a little bit realize like hey if they were able to make it here maybe we ought to like figure shit out tighten up just a touch let's work together instead of against each other we have way more in common regardless of our disagreements than the dude who just showed up from battlestar galactica so i think it'd be net positive i mean i know for a fact that these the research programs exist but what it seems to be is somebody will come testify about either something they saw but can't show you a program they were read into but can't tell you much about or somebody that they know who brought them something and showed it to them but they don't have the thing just hold up the goddamn piece of the spaceship yeah i want i want to believe i want a picture yes i want to believe that we're not alone but i also would like to have some level of demonstrable evidence associated with that do you think because i call it like a staggered disclosure i think they're just getting us used to you know they're releasing all this you know i mean we're there right aren't we kind of i feel like within the next 10 years they're going to show us a real picture like hey let's say it was today let's say the fourth of july happy birthday here's your present we're gonna unwrap whatever here's from planet you know xenu as an example with all the volcanoes sure um i mean what do you think would happen i think i think what everyone fee is social collapse because of all the religious institutions i actually don't think it's that i think people will have such distrust in government because the government's been a lot every government on planet earth has been lying to its citizens for the last 80 years and that's the case too this would be not just a u.s lying this is the entire globe unless for some reason these only crash in the u.s which i believe to be improbable as well yeah yeah i went to mexico and i got to see the weird little aliens do you know about these yeah but they also got tested on to be no no that that was that was like disinformation they put out i met i met propaganda total bullshit i met with michael mexico aliens no they're called uh tridactyls the or the nazca mummies um i went and i got to see him i saw the x-rays i saw the cat scans i i spoke with this mexican navy doctor who did all the navy doctor okay who did all the testing he got put in jail because he wouldn't he came out and said i'm not saying this is bullshit the mexican government were like you need to say this is fake and it was wild you can see wear and tear in the joints from like almost like arthritic in some of these older ones images on that michael yeah there's one and there's like three different types and there's one there's a pregnant one um yeah that's yep dude and stop it this is not bullshit i swear to you i see i've seen okay so the one with its knees rolled up yep is a female and when they did a they did a scan there's three eggs inside of it and then they put a little camera in and are you bought and paid for by big alien i am not bought and paid for but i went there being like this is cake because remember when they were they was all these skits that these things are cake totally not i've got picked i'll show you i've got pictures of holding one of the fingers and you can see like bone whatever like marrow divots and stuff in the finger so what do they make of these best assessment or best guess what are these they have no idea because the dna we only could track they when they sent the dna testing off it came back that we only can recognize 80 of it so there's 20 of dna of these things where they like we have no idea what it is that's a weird mix yeah because if you look at like us to a cockroach is more than 80 like we're like what 89 to a cockroach are we really yeah it's like it's really not that oh okay it's not that far apart i mean i could be wrong with that number but we're not as far apart from a cockroach as this thing is from humans and there's hundreds of them what yeah i thought there was only three no they found in in peru there's there's uh there's about a hundred of them and the crazy thing is the peruvian government the ones that got to mexico they released initially they let them take out of the country because they were like well these things aren't real are you sure this has been everyone i spoke to was like they were i saw i mean listen it would have to be the greatest costume and special effects artist ever to put this thing together yeah there was nothing that i saw that was like wire inside of it or sutras or and it it by all accounts was very real and it's covered and it's all white because it's covered in diatomaceous earth some kind of preservative that you you can use for gardening or some shit yeah yeah i don't know i don't i don't think there would be a societal collapse i do think that there would be unanswerable questions from our government and many others as to what companies have you given this tech to and is the only reason that you didn't disclose this was because of the technological advantage how much of this is currently being used who has benefited from this and who's taken our tax dollars to now have financial gain from this yes and who has leapfrogged the competition because you know they went from whatever a bic lighter to quantum whatever fill in the blank that i think would infuriate people more yeah than a you know the green man i think it would be cool if we weren't alone oh yeah i think it'd be great and as you're to your point i think it's a really unifying kind of concept at the end of the day because like hey get your shit together because you know little green man if he can travel across the universe in any capacity that's another one i don't really understand though if they have the ability to get here why do they crash so often maybe they crash on purpose maybe they're maybe they're leaving us easter eggs i don't i don't accept that theory at all jack pilot error is a thing why do they have so much pilot error at the end of the journey as opposed to traveling at the beginning i mean statistically if it's going to crash it's in the beginning right yeah and you know there's a lot of theories too that there's more undersea than well on land i will tell you this and i just tell my buddy this i i have a friend who is uh uh close with the president and they speak often and he asked him about it and his quote was from this is what he told me the president said was we have no idea what they are but they're in the ocean i don't know what to feel about the story that you just told me there's so many questions i have off off mic i'll tell you the whole for sure we will yeah here's the problem i feel like this man called the president on a wednesday at 3 p.m he answered and said this over an unclassified telephone line and from my friend that is a very common occurrence with our our present our president well if the aliens are real they're not real they're not real they're not real they're not real i expect him to hop in the cockpit of an f-16 and lead the charge a hundred percent as it did in the then to be documentary fourth of july or whatever that movie was but who's gonna be who's gonna be independence day yeah who's gonna be the wacky guy that that you know suicide bombs it probably hegseth after he gets done benching 350 and shotgunning a beer we are living in a very wild time right yeah but what a time to be alive i feel like every generation of every moment of civilization has a chance to say that though do you think it'll mellow out or do you think it's only going to continue to get crazier like until we're full-blown idiocracy is there a potential realm where we already are in full-blown idiocracy well crocs are a thing and crocs are comfortable plus they have four-wheel drive mode you can be casual or off-road this is true so don't beg on crocs and we have a kind of a celebrity president he may not have been a porn star wrestler like uh what was his name president macho nacho or whatever but he's yeah um i don't know i'm not a betting man but if i had to bet on that i don't know where i would put it yeah i don't it depends if you it depends on what you consider to be real what you see online or what you see with your own two eyes i try to focus heavily on the latter and less on the former constantly i will say nothing crazier than this could happen and then i see something crazier so that i'm clearly wrong when it comes to i don't know man what do you think well i look at it as like a pendulum right and we've you know now with the administration the pendulum swung to the right and i'm like okay well if the left takes over how hard are they going to swing in a retaliation to to the left and also what would that look like yeah would they i mean we kind of experienced it with with biden to a degree yeah i mean there's some of the social policies using an example of physical infrastructure though the ballroom which there's a whole conversation around that having i have been to the white house i am aware that sometimes the united states hosts events like as an example i really think the hotel that reagan got shot at and also the guy the metahuman ran through the metal detectors we should avoid that venue in the future we probably need a ballroom at the white house yeah now if it gets completed or is close to being completed and the left does take over are they going to tear that down i mean is that how far we're going to go does it have to be physical in nature would it be policy i just don't know what it would look like yeah or are they gonna because there's no way they can finish building that in two what there's two years left uh well i think if it was a regular ballroom you probably could i think it's safe to say there's a lot of different security features that'll be in enhanced inside of that as well that probably take time i would i bet you it would be close in the final phases if not done yeah and then to cut your nose off to spite your face do you spend the extra money to tear it down i don't know i so i don't know how far the pendulum will go yeah i can see it from a policy side i could see them changing tax code i could see them changing you know title nine stuff unfortunately i mean but why but that's just the thing it's i think just because they can and it's a show of like look what we we've undone what you know i mean i could go play blindfolded frogger down main street i'm not going to just because you can doesn't mean you should and that applies to both sides of the aisle you know yeah i don't know man yeah it's i just wonder what what the next level of like weed it's gonna get like okay trump did the ufc at the white house is the next president as a to make a point gonna do like another like some another event at the white i like and what's that gonna be michael and i talked have you seen the comments michael people are very upset and when we talked about the ufc that we didn't discuss that the biden administration had a uh pride event pride event um with what do they call the dudes that dress up like girls transgender i think it was transvestite no it was a drag queen okay drag queen show and had i been aware of that or remember that i would have commented on it but sorry people i can't comment on all things at all yeah maybe don't you know i mean jay-z performed at the white house like it's it's a thing and uh i had i had billy bush on my podcast recently it's coming out i think next week and he was telling me that when george bush senior was in office he had an exhibition tennis match with his sons competing against uh tennis players in the south lawn i wonder if he told him they had to lose well here's the crazy his it was when like jeb was young and it was against female tennis players and apparently they won you how long are you gonna stay entrenched in los angeles i don't think i'm for i don't i don't think much longer it's dude it's if you want an example like and that's what's so shocking to me about everyone's like oh gavin newsom's gonna run i'm like well all they got to do is just look at california and go he will he will not win well but somehow he probably will well not only look at california but look at california and the difference between when he first was elected and where he is now yeah he has a history of taking credit and saying things that a he didn't have a hand in and b a lot of the performance from when he took over to now is kind of the exact opposite of what he's portraying yeah yeah he's not i i think that guy is pure evil he has destroyed the state with just policy after policy and he's just you know and you see he goes on sean ryan's end and like plays the game oh yeah yeah i probably shouldn't have done it's like dude just stop like this the monorail is gonna be sweet though oh yeah yeah 24 billion dollars later a lot of people want to go to bakersfield though hey it's no shame and i'm not throwing shade to me don't go in the summer though wait wasn't that like a hostage crisis in bakersfield recently there was some hostage situation maybe yeah there was like a 24-hour standoff do you think you'll ever be able to lift and shift out of la i mean obviously yes you have family yes absolutely yeah my you know my ex-wife she wants to move out of state my mom's talked about it because it's dude it's the cost of living there you go bakersfield 15 hour standoff yeah yeah it was a whole thing yeah 10 hostages rescued unharmed that's good that's a good way to end that yeah we like that yeah way to go fbi Um, it appears that the FBI, the hostage taker did not survive. No, that's actually probably should be the expectation. If you, I mean, I don't know how people think that's going to go, but the, um, you know, the, the, just the, the cost in LA is so extreme. I went to a coffee shop. You own a coffee shop. How much do you sell two lattes and two pastries full? Like what would that come to at your black rifle? I mean, so size-wise we'll go mediums down the middle, maybe 15 bucks. $37. That was before tip. Was it excellent pastry? Yes. I mean, it's a, it's a fantastic coffee shop and I frequent it often. So it's not stopping you, but you're, it's, I mean, it's a, well, it does sometimes, you know, I do, I definitely go sparingly these days, but yeah, $37. It's like how it's, it just doesn't. And now it's just the cost of. Everything there is like, what are we just what for I'm not seeing it in action. Any of this taxes or any, it's like this, the city's not as it's not safe at all. The day I moved into my house, I was unpacking the moving van. I see this blacked out Prius pull up to this house. That's like catty corner to me, four guys in ski masks, run out, full home invasion. This was at one o'clock in the afternoon. Armed. Uh, they, I did not see weapons. But they had ski masks and they jumped the, they weren't expecting a homeowner to be there because she was, she came out screaming and they took off, but I'm just like, what is going on? And then you call, how long do you think it took for the cops to get there? Well, I'm assuming that they came two hours. It was about 25 minutes. Okay. Yeah. And you said they pulled up in a Prius, so they still could have caught them. No, sorry. They were in a, in a, in a Tesla blacked out Tesla. This is going to be harder to catch them. Yeah. Much harder. Very fast. They could go ludicrous mode. As you say, Prius would be, sometimes there's conflicting ideologies, you know, worried about the environment, but also want to take things from other people that you don't own. Yeah. Yeah. And it's, you know, I just, I'm like, it breaks my heart because I used to love LA. LA was the best city. It was so much fun. What do you think about Spencer Pratt and the recent election? Do you know Spencer? I know him like distantly. Like we have a very close mutual friend and we'd kind of similar circles. We were in LA back when he was doing, doing a show and, and a huge amount of my friends actually lived in the Palisades. And so I saw firsthand and I've seen firsthand what that fire did. I haven't been able to go up there. Oh, dude. It's, it's. Is it just a wasteland essentially? Think of like photos off to Hiroshima, just flat and you'll see a chimney or like a metal frame of a, it's just rubble and steep. It was, it was terrifying. What did they do with all of this? All of the money they raised to rebuild. That, well, I can tell you, it got siphoned off to all these nonprofits and nothing. I think something like. Hasn't only a handful of building permits been issued. Yep. Handful of building permits. I think there's one house that's been finished in the Palisades, but who's wants to live there? I don't want to live in some. And then you've got all these, you know, black rocks coming in and, you know, these private equity companies just because they know that people are bogged down. There was something really interesting that happened, which never gets brought up and I kind of caught onto it pretty quickly. There was a news story that came out a few months before the fire and they were talking about the housing crisis in LA and primarily in Santa Monica. That Santa Monica was going to have to turn these beach parking lots where you park your car if you're going to the beach. They're going to have to build low income housing in those parking lots or the city will. Have these crazy fines week after week until they have enough affordable housing. And so they were going to build low income housing beachfront beachfront property. And there was a huge issue because they didn't have the space to build the low income housing. And there was this whole cut to three months later, a giant fire comes in and wipes out the entire Palisades and parts of Santa Monica. Well, now we've got a great solution to this potentially, you know, hundred million dollar problem. And I'm like, I did. They was a part of this about kind of cleaning the slate to put in this low income housing. And man, it depends on how conspiratorial you would want to be. I'm not against saying it's possible. And just the God, Karen Bass is the frickin the mayor is like, oh. So how does she continue to get reelected then? It's wild to me. Yeah, I was so I went did Huberman's show and he records up in Malibu. And for people who haven't been, the Palisades are the northwestern side of Los Angeles. But the PCH or Pacific Coast Highway drives up there through as well. You go through the Malibu area. I mean, I was blown away. There'd be a couple of houses and then just remnants. And I forget who we were talking to somebody locally. Leah did a surfing lesson and the guy who taught her the lesson was in real estate and she was asking about the that that Malibu. Just you want to talk about the most pristine beach. I mean, a lot of them, you know, the concrete pylons that go in and your deck is over. It's amazing. The sun sets over the Pacific. He was saying he doesn't know if it'll ever be rebuilt at all just to get a permit for the septic systems. Millions of dollars. That's let alone the building permit or the building costs associated with that. He doesn't know if it'll ever be rebuilt now. And there's the Coastal Commission, which. Now determines like how your house can look. Is it going to block someone's view? It's all these always there enough room for animals to migrate between your houses. You now have to say you had a house. What they would do with these beach houses is you had a 5000 square foot lot. You built your house at, you know, four thousand, you know, and, you know, nine hundred ninety touch your neighbors. Yeah, basically. Yeah. It was six feet adjoined. Yeah. Now you have to have it offset by like X amount of feet. Oh, and so your house, your building is smaller. And so now the price is reduced and you're not, you know, oh, I had a 20 million dollar beach house. Now it's a 15 million dollar beach house. Okay. Yeah. Well, what? But it's still the end of the day you're getting you it's you're not it's not a replacement and it's now depreciated. Yeah. The people who have the money to do that are not interested in what you're talking about. The smartest person here apparently is Kanye with an old concrete house. Yeah. Do you know him? I've never met him. No, never met Kanye. I feel like he might be a touch crazy. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. I tell you, I used to be really good friends with a friend of mine was he had a kid with a Kardashian. And yeah, Scott Disick, him and I, we used to be like best friends. And he's told me some very interesting Kanye stories. Yeah. Yeah. I think you can go onto the Internet and find some very interesting Kanye stories. Yeah. Did you ever see the what's that South African band Diane Wood, Diane Wood. They tell this story about when they went to Kanye's house and it's they're like doing some like art project. It's a it's an amazing video. It's on YouTube. And they're like doing some like art or whatever because they make weird content and they're just kooky or kooky band and they're in this painting. And then Kanye just starts telling this story about how he went to Kanye's house to talk music and he walks in there and Kanye is just watching like hardcore pornography and completely ignoring him. And he's just stood there in this kitchen that's like immaculate and white, and he's just watching like hardcore porn in front of him. And they're just like, what are we doing here? And then he just then Kanye just starts talking about the porn. I mean, what is the move there other than an abrupt about face and just walk out, dude? Yeah, well, that's what he did. He's like, I just got out of there. I would be like, this is I'm sorry, dude. Like, I'm not like, yeah, that's that's a wild. But but he but I don't get how he's selling out stadiums still. He's like he's in the countries that let him come. Yeah. He's like Nazi merch sells. Who the fuck is buying that? I don't know. Who's going to like, yeah, I've got my I've got my Kanye swastika shirt. Like, dude, I think that just says beat the living fuck out of me. Yeah. At the McDonald's or wherever you're wearing that. Yeah. Sorry to the good people who go to McDonald's. Did you ever did you see that footage of the the punk show and the guy like some Aryan Nazi guy walks in and he is in Vegas at some like rockabilly punk show and he goes into the pit and they just beat the piss out of this dude. They fucking. Rock this guy and like he gets on line off who's, you know, he's like whining about it. It's like, dude, I'm sorry. You you. Sorry, not sorry. You asked for it. Ozzfest is coming back. Yes. I think one of the first stories you ever told me is you were growing up at Ozzfest and walked into a tattoo room and a woman was getting a butterfly tattooed on her asshole. Yes, that that's a true story. Yes, that is part of a story arc of, you know, of a man. Coming into his own self that not many people experience. A coming of age tale as old as time. Yeah, I mean, it's common, right? Who hasn't? Right. The butterfly. of hope who hasn't encountered the butterfly of hope yeah it's a thing how do you even process that i i think i was just like okay and there was so much going on in this environment there was like yeah i saw some wild shit as a young man is that the oz fest you're bringing back i think it's gonna be a little more uh a little well oz fest was always really controlled like we as crazy as it was we did not we we locked down backstage like there was there was no like hanger-ons like backstage was very clinical out which is important for the artists it is it is and and it was we we had very limited guest passes for the band so it wasn't like it was groupie central back there i mean yes it happened um but it was it was always very organized controlled like we ran a tight schedule and uh so it'll be a lot you know we'll keep it controlled and it's it's gonna be a little more you know a little more pc dare i say because i think those days are over man like those days of just like crazy shit like that it ain't happening anymore the you know cell phone cams man cell phone cams and people worried about lawsuits rightfully so it's you know a lot of fucked up things have happened in the music world and you know it's it's just you know it's unfortunate but yeah and so i i think that that is gone of the day days of just like crazy situations like a you know a girl getting a butterfly tattooed on a butthole i mean i think if you sign the consent form and you find a tattoo artist that is willing to do so i mean yeah that was very much that was very much the thing i'm not gonna tell people how to party no i would have suggestions on maybe things to wait did you not i thought you told me you had a frog tattooed on your butthole arm um okay so where are you going to do that do the oz fest when are these coming back it'll be some next summer we're figuring it out um definitely doing one in england definitely doing one in north america there's been talks about you know adding some additional dates but we're going to start small and kind of get because it was a touring festival and so we're just we're doing a little pilot like all right is there still an audience for oz fest is the market completely flooded with metal festivals because there are a lot yeah and you know we're gonna go modern music or back bit of both you know we're gonna have some because there are a lot of you know a lot of huge bands now kind of got their start on oz fest so you know we'll approach them you know for headliners and things like that so yeah we'll have to get we'll have to get you there you can come with jocko you can see him smile i'll document that and put it on the internet the internet's not ready for happy jocko happy jocko's i love the meme it's all the same faces and it goes through all his emotional range but it's just the same picture yeah no i love that i got i got happy i got a i got a happy jocko yeah now he's great it's uh man he lives in a world i think there's a lot of pressure on him yeah big time man it's like he's kind of like the he's like the the go-to guy of like sage advice for an entire generation of men now don't fuck it up no you're gonna have young blood come uh he seems to be the new brit yeah he's definitely you know if if it works out sure um yeah i mean i wouldn't say no to you know to dom he's a good dude you should get him on your podcast i don't know him i don't know if you know this jack also he lives in the uk it doesn't matter i don't know him i don't know him doesn't he yeah i don't know what i'll talk to him about i'm not that's not really my genre of music and i don't appreciate that he wears leather pants he looks good in leather pants though he can pull it off who doesn't well i mean i guess i don't look good really fat sweaty people probably don't but have you how many how much have you tried not probably since i was six years old and forced to wear them that might be child abuse under what setting were you forced to wear no i did like i did this like music video thing for my dad and they were like here wear some leather pants so i was like okay do you know it would be dope with leather pants though who cowboy boots oh dude that's basically that was like guns and roses uniform yeah how aren't they what are they 97 now gnr axel no they're a little younger than that it's rolling stones which are like in their 80s crushing though crushing they're great yeah and then uh it was funny so at the back to the beginning show my dad had never met axel rose all he is he's good friends they had never crossed paths never crossed paths he knows duff he knows he's worked with slash like you know slash and my dad was super close um but he'd never met axel and after the show like we we brought axel into the dressing room to meet my dad and it was just a really funny moment where he was like oh my god so good to meet you what was your other than perhaps your dad performing what was your the band you enjoyed seeing there the most i you know what i loved about it was so we had tom orello uh he was the kind of musical supervisor and coordinator of the whole thing so he picked what bands played what aussie or what sabbath songs and i i just loved seeing all the the different bands kind of cover my dad's stuff and so there was you know the guns and roses was great metallica was awesome tool was amazing it was just like it it was this really phenomenal day of music that i don't think anyone was like well that sucked that band wasn't good it was just there was no no dull moment and and and dom when he did changes it was a really like profound moment of the day where because dom wasn't you know dom's just rock and roll but in in the kind of metal kind of you know the hardcore kind of crew dom was kind of seen as like all right you kind of do like the pop rock pop punk stuff like you're you're kind of over there it's okay to say it's katie perry yeah well it was a little bit like people saw him as that and then when he came out girls is not a bad song uh you might know it's pretty bad song and now that she's dating trudeau it's terrible song what a weird pairing those two are so weird and i'm a coachella like bebopping around like from dating aragon or the fucking whatever his elf yeah the elf to i don't know castro's son listen wait have you ever done that conspiracy yes i have dude they look similar but i don't know oh hold on a second michael pull up the side pull up the side by side comparison of trudeau and castro this is irrefutable there's a series of sick like four pictures where i don't i mean pictures they tell you they you know they they say a thousand words but they're not all correct some people look really similar i look a lot like scott stapp wait you're not scott stapp okay hold on okay go down down the bottom left corner okay there's there is like a series of okay no sorry over to the right where it's the yeah keep going to the right one faster michael damn it hard right that one no no uh no in middle right middle right back yes okay now if we can get this enhanced okay dude look at these pictures okay that's pretty close dude we live in a world where we just need some hair follicles of people associated with the families and we can we can just figure this out well do you do you know apparently the canadian government anytime he would this is conspiracy theory but allegedly anytime he was at a public event where eating would occur they would police his plates and cups and take them yeah i do that too though that's just called being a good house guest you know do your own dishes clean up your own shit is that why you're doing it are you you've already going to get framed for that thing that happened i mean i get why conspiracies are fun and if people want to dive into them go ahead i think it gets dangerous when they think everything is a conspiracy yeah because i mean conspiracies do exist our government is uh has been involved in some for sure does that mean that everything our government has done is a conspiracy no and i think that's where it can get a little dangerous i don't know i mean if that were true what's i mean i mean he's out of a public office now it's like his job is done yeah now he's just traveling the world with katie perry how can maybe he's a maple syrup salesman i don't know what he's got going influencer i don't know what he's got going on i wonder how those two met it just seems odd it's super odd are they are they even of relatively similar age i think so yeah katie perry's gotta be in her mid-40s now i think so i was gonna say that i don't know we used to be homies are you serious katie perry and i used to be yeah are you fucking with me i swear to god no so katie i had a roommate and her my roommate's best friend was katie perry's best friend and so we would all okay we all hung out together all the time is this before she launched into superstardom yeah yeah yeah she was like just kind of what was she like she was really cool she was funny she was like quirky and just like whatever she was cool and just like a weird musician and uh yeah and then many years some years later i ended up i was at a coachella party and of course you were you know and this was god this is probably 15 years ago and we were all hanging out and i was with my my old roommate and her best friend and uh katie perry was at this party and we're all just kind of hanging out and someone said oh this is just like the old days and her response was yeah except now i'm rich and i was like oh okay no i don't like you like moving on well the response is yeah but you're still a cunt whether true or not you have to have yeah listen if you're going to serve i will return with something across the net it might go out of bounds but i will have something for you i think i said something like and still i think i said i said something like and still not very good at making jokes like that's also appropriate it was something that brings it back to the other side yeah for sure god that is I don't know, whatever. Just a weird thing. I'm like, who fucking says that? Okay, yeah, we get it. You were like the biggest pop artist at the time. Fame is a weird thing, man. It is. I know some pretty famous people and I think the money would be fantastic. I'm not so sure the fame is fantastic. Yeah. I think the move would be fantastically wealthy and nobody knows who you are. That I think is the apex of the pyramid. But then that population, it gets corrosive because they get frustrated because no one knows who they are and then they start to try and buy. No, but you need to be the person who doesn't care. Yeah. Just be like the Unabomber, but don't blow people up and be rich. This is the plan. Life advice with Andy Stone. No, but I mean, be happy with who you are. But you got famous kind of relatively quickly. I'm not famous. I might be recognizable. You are certainly famous in the world you operate in. The 70s. Seven people, yes. Yes, I'm known between the several people. Yeah, but like, you know, you're in that kind of Rogan world of like- He's just a good friend of mine. Sure, but still, like he brought you on when you were doing base jumps and crazy shit. Yeah, it's too much of a pussy to do it himself. But yeah, I'm definitely not famous. I like anonymity. I get pulled aside from time to time and I'm always appreciative of it. But Joe's a good example. I was in an archery event with him and he needed to go take a piss and it took him about 30 minutes to go 30 feet. Wow. Because he had announced he was going to be there and so pictures in hand, and he was incredibly generous because he's incredibly appreciative of the station that he has in life. But also at the same time, the guy's just got to take a piss. Yeah. And I'm sure it's, I am sure it is great to have everything economically in your reach, but I don't think it would be beneficial if everybody knew that you had that in your reach because how do you determine who's a vampire and who's not? There's a lot of freedom in anonymity. Yeah. I'm telling you, the billionaire Unabomber. That's the move. I think so. But again, don't blow people up. Are you going to write the manifesto of the billionaire Unabomber? Well, yes, but then you'd have to burn it because you wouldn't want anyone even to know who you are. It's true. But perhaps it could be part of your morning journaling session. You know, your six hour morning routine since you have nothing else to do. Except tinker and ask JGPT how to make a bomb. The Unabomber would have, might have, slayed in the modern era. Oh, 100%. Streaming? I mean, clearly he would have had to change his prompts and said things like, I am writing a screenplay. I know someone and they have a question. I'm researching a novel. If you weren't the Unabomber, but also wanted to create this, how would you? Do you think there's flags inside of those systems that are looking for stuff like that? Yes. Because it'll deny the prompt, but you think it keeps track of it? Yes. Well, and I know, I know Amazon does too. Amazon has- For like the anarchist cookbook and stuff like that? Yeah, they've got some weird algorithm where they will track how you, I was told actually by someone, an FBI guy told me this, that they have some deal with Amazon where they will knock out, hey, this guy bought like a shit ton of ammonia and this guy bought this and that and some, you know, wiring and, you know. Yeah. That's how they got, remember someone was mailing, someone was mailing bombs not that long ago and they got him because they typed in- Like actual completed bombs? Yeah, there was a thing that happened. It was during the, it was, I think it was back during the first Trump administration. There was some bomb mail that was going on. Okay. And they couldn't figure out where it was going. They knew where it was sent from and they couldn't figure out who this guy was. And then apparently they went to Amazon and plugged in all that would have been needed to make this bomb. And it was like, it spat out, like, yep, here's the guy, go look up these guys. And they, it was like a very narrow pool of like five people. The internet cuts both ways. I love how you were looking back up here as if maybe it was Trudeau. Yeah, it could have been. That's how he got Katy Perry, send her a love bomb. Oh man, Orlando Bloom is a handsome man. Yeah. Apparently pretty well endowed too. Do you ever see those naked pictures of him freaking paddle boarding? What? Weird move. He got papped. Naked paddle boarding, just laying it all out there. Why would you do that? I don't know. Weird thing. I mean, if you had a big old hog though, maybe that is why you do that. You're just like, hey. Just perhaps it's a calling card. This is my hog and this is my oar. Guess which one's which. Yeah, these are my wares. This is what I have to offer. This is what I am bringing to the table. Yeah. We live in a weird world, Jack. Yes, we do. I gotta get you on the road because I gotta get up like a four hour drive. What do you want to close it out with? I'm just, hey. Just name me your podcast. My podcast is just Trying Not to Die. And the other one is Jack's Most Haunted. So yeah, go to at Jack Osborne on YouTube or wherever you engage in social media. I'm across it all. How much time do you spend on it? Not at all, any. Very healthy approach. Yeah, I engage very little. My Patreon, I kind of engage in a little bit more. But yeah, very little. Good. Yeah, it's evil. Keep it that way. It is evil. It's terrible for your self-esteem. Yes, it is. Cool. All right, man. It's good to see you. Good to see you. Yep.
