If there's anything the enemy would love who would love your mind and your mouth, but he can't get your mouth without your mind, so he goes for the mind first. There is a devil and there is a captain of the adversaries. He's got a specific, unknowing thing over the minds, over convincing people of his viewpoint, his worldview. A third of the angels fell with him, but they fell because they were convinced. What were they convinced by? By the end of a negotiation with Satan, you will find yourself in rebellion of God, thinking that you did the right thing. You can tell your mind is not exactly what it should be, shut your mouth, be quiet. Gratitude is the cheap shot of spiritual warfare. This is what the enemy is miscalculating. He does not understand. He cannot deal with it. There is no way for him to survive it. There's vulnerabilities inside of the schemas of the mind. When there's vulnerability, what happens is the enemy can come in with an open door. Paul's talking about a second Corinthians. He says, "We use God's mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of, what does he say, demons? There's the palatines." We use these weapons to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. Why is he talking about human reasoning and false arguments? Hey, before we get into this, we're talking about mental warfare, strongholds of the minds, how to deal with specifically when things come at you and try to pollute and contort your thinking. It's going to a great episode. We're going to go really deep. It's going to be one of those. We're going to spend a lot of time around the science, the memory bases of how a person can get control of their memory, their mind, and their progress again. But me and Jake spend the first like 30 minutes because we just got back from New York City, just kind of talking about what happened where we are. We're just in Ohana's family mode. We're just chilling out. So if you're someone who wants to just go straight to the mean potatoes about 30 minutes and you can check the titles at the bottom just skip into the beginning of the episode. If you like hanging out with us, just hang out for the first 30 minutes. Love you guys. Everyone wants to get to the high places, but if you want to go high, you first have to go deep. What's up, welcome back to deep-end. What's up, bro? What up, man? Why are you laughing? Because of the joke I made earlier. You're laughing at classic Jake, you're laughing at my own jokes. I think I'm the funniest person in the world for myself. We all think we're the funniest person we know. Am I wrong? No, we don't. I don't think that. No, that's a special experience. I actually haven't met a lot of people that wouldn't say that about me. I don't think I'm the funniest person that I've ever met. Okay. Well, I disagree, but I know there are people objectively funnier than me. So there's no doubt about that in my mind. How is New York, bro? Let's tell the people. Yeah, if you're brand new, we just got back from New York, which was our second live event. It was like 500 people or something like that. It was, man, that was amazing. I didn't, we had no expectations going into it, but I thought it was so crazy. The deliverance started breaking out in the middle of a podcast episode. Is it dangerous to do it now? Well, hold on, hold on. Let's let them take orders from the right thing. You guys are like, the deep-end. Y'all should know this at this point. Do you want to or do you not want to? By a show of hands, how many of you guys in the audience want this to happen? And by a show of hands, how many of you do not? You're like, I'm terrified. I stopped this now. And then by a show of hands, how many of you're like, what is even happening? What were you thinking? Were you just like, oh, here we go. Like, what went through your mind? I don't ever freak out. No, I just texted Rob. I said that person needs to leave. And then I texted some of the people that they were praying. And I was like, to go to your job, this is why we brought you here. And then we kept going. It was awesome. That's great. Yeah, it was a super cool event, man. I was, I will say, the biggest takeaway for me was, I don't know. You did hold on. You did a phenomenal job for the record. Thank you. Not many people. Okay, so people don't see you like all the time without the crushing me like poking you and messing with you. Sure. Which is why people hate me. But it's my job. Clearly not that many people hate you, though. They're like, oh, you're so mean to Jake. But they don't know like how good you actually are by yourself. Just like talking to a crowd. Me and Heather were standing next to the side. I was like literally videoing. You're like taking pictures of you. I was like, that's your guy. Look at him right up. He's so good. Oh my god. In front of people. That's funny. So yeah, you did a phenomenal job. Thank you. It was awesome. Yeah, it was a lot of fun. It was a lot of fun. The biggest thing that I got from it. This is the only thing I'll say that was like the biggest takeaway. I was telling people throughout the event. I have been to so many conferences. And business ones included not just church ones. But you know how you'll go to a lot of conferences. And you're like there for one speaker or you're there for. And it's kind of like I got that one moment. This event was not like that. And it wasn't even because I was a part of it. It was literally I could feel it the whole time of my body. That I was like every part of the event was essential. But the funny part was is that I had there was some Gen Z people that came up to me after the show. And they said you know the craziest part of this whole thing. I said what? They said you guys didn't have any lights production. And you didn't have music till the end. But God's presence was there the entire time. They're like we don't usually see that anywhere. But our own prayer closet. And I told them and I said the best place that you're going to find God's presence sometimes is in your prayer closet. It's going to be better than anything you can get here. And they went yes. And I was like that. But the fact that you could feel God with nothing but just his actual manifest presence in the room. That is like that is what we need everywhere. Technically though we had lights or else we would have been able to see. Not yeah lighting isn't we had lighting but we didn't have flashing lights or all sorts of like hype reels. We didn't have anything. And it's not like oh, holier than that it was just like it was really simple. It was simple and it was and God literally was there the entire time. There wasn't one part of the event that I was like man we should have completely redone that. It was no God was there the whole time. Yes it was. Yeah. It was great. Are you going to release the episodes or I don't know. I think we're going to have to kind of figure out if we can put them out or if we need to just maybe if you if you want to have a really sure way to get the episode you should probably sign it for our text list. I'll put the I'll put the number on the screen here in a second. But yeah if people want to see the episodes for sure like a better chance they should decide for the text list. We're still figuring that out. So great pitch man. There's a beautiful CTA right there. Learned it from the best. So we would call it call to action. Can I can I ask a couple things? I don't normally come within agenda for the beginning of an episode and I can't way to get into your stuff but a couple things one I felt like it'd be fun to kind of hit super quick. I have a couple questions for you but before that I thought it would be fun to really quickly like just for the vision of the show hit like what we were I've been talking about the past couple weeks and what we remember what I was texting you on the way from Nashville just like how episodes have felt different and some things that we're kind of changing. I was curious on your thoughts I have some on my own but I was curious on some of your thoughts of things that you've noticed like maybe the show was going a little bit of a different direction it feels like we're kind of making a little bit of a a little bit of a correction almost from some episodes that we did like what did you kind of see in macro because I don't know if some of our audience sometimes people feel things they don't say it say it but I think we were kind of feeling it and so I was curious from your perspective what you saw with the show at a macro level and then kind of where it's going yeah well first and foremost I haven't thought through like a bunch of big crazy goals for the show yeah so I think my expectations have always been that we can show up we can talk about what got us what got us doing what he's teaching me what he's teaching you I'm very high alert against the stimulant driven like we have to hit numbers we have to grow we have to see this like pacing out it's kind of like you heard those stories where like a I remember forget a guy that was like in college with me his dad caught him smoking cigarettes and his name was Bradley and his dad was so mad because he was like we don't smoke cigarettes like whatever who cares but his dad was like not in our family so he made him smoke a whole pack of cigarettes nice and my friend was like throwing up like well and then he was like he can't even smell cigarettes now he like hates the smell of cigarettes wow it's not a desensitization it's like a I went so far down that road like never again it's intolerance yeah I can't do it anymore yeah I think that I have that same thing with like when you talk about ministry and God but then all you track is the metrics like I it's like smoking cigarettes for me I'm like I can't makes me sick I can't do it now what's funny is I'm like that in business like everything is a metric everything's a KPI where where you at but with this is different like I don't want to get caught in the like what we do something and then we get an outcome can't control it is whatever God wants to do and I think that whenever either one of us forgets that I think we both sort of tense up and we don't operate in flow we don't operate in the spirit we kind of just start behaving in a way that is preventative or predictive or trying to get a certain thing yeah and when you did that thing where you looked back at all the episodes and you kind of looked through like where were we q1 of this year q2 q3 like now we're in q4 there was definitely a moment where it was like sort of not having as much fun yeah doing it and then like it'll hit you sometimes probably you more than me at this point it'll hit you sometimes where it's like oh wow this is actually big so we have to like say the right thing and do the right thing yeah whereas I tend to have the opposite effect from like screw that like I'll say the wrong thing just for fun just because it's fun for me yeah I think that's the biggest thing that I noticed is that what you're asking about or yeah I know the deeper yeah no no that's that's really good I think the way I'd explain it for myself is like almost succumbing to pressure like non-existent pressure like only external not internal and I could tell that on even more recent episodes I felt internally I felt more pressure to like make this perfect or nail the story arc and then I'd watch our old episodes like I watched our most our biggest episodes and we had so much fun and I noticed that like we just weren't really like as you know we didn't see what we were having is much fun and we also just kind of it felt like more recently we got more comfortable with the audience that we have and something that I felt like I was something a month ago it was like be really careful to label something big or small because that's like that definition is 100% up to what God thinks because something small like Jesus's group of disciples could have been considered small or big but it might have only been 12 which looks small but that dude that told that changed the whole freaking world and that we're still we're still following Jesus after 12 after 12 dudes that were broke out with love small beginnings and he loves the season that something is founded in yeah and there at times I think God will be like can we just have a bit more time because he love I think it's one of his favorite silos of a of a story arc is like it's just at the beginning yeah he really loves that those moments and so yeah sometimes sometimes we look at the fruit of something and we judge it based on the fruit and we don't judge it based on like the health of the soil and like it's not about this the harvest this season it's about can it sustainably produce harvest for the next decade yeah and what people do is they try to rush through the fruit of something mm-hmm or they get a taste of it you know picture like seasons you go through like planting tending oh great we had a good harvest let's harvest it and turn around and try to harvest something again the next season knows violates nature it's not how it works and everything you have a little bit of this up down up down and so things can breathe and they can rest and God teaches you different things and so not everything is always going to be like this like making it bigger and then making it bigger and then turning around and making it bigger and then you know the only things in nature that actually follow that like bigger bigger bigger bigger no rest and reset cancer weeds not good things mm-hmm everything else has a seasonality to it and there's an up and down and there's a succumbing and there's a ruining and pruning and so rebuilding yeah so it can get bigger yep that's the that's almost always the plan by the way I think you might be bumping your mic just to touch with the side screw that man okay I'm standing to do its job really quick just so we all know where we're going can you give me the topic and then I have two questions before we before yeah mental warfare mental world strongholds of the minds how to defeat this serpent of the mind and the brain heck yeah dude I'm excited to get into that um okay so two questions it might get answered with one depending on how you answer but um it you should have prepared today man I just want to salute you for showing up prepared thank you that's a very different Jake welcome back bro so I've been kind of feeling this nobody from the audience necessarily uh said this but it's more of a thing that I'm picking up on and it's honestly a question that I've had to so can I give some context and then I'll ask the question I have a question I just have the context where yeah I think it's a beautiful thing that's happening and I think I think it's safe to say deepened and in its own way has become a movement whether for people in church or people in new age or people coming out of witchcraft whatever that looks like I think there is a real lens shift on people and coming out of witchcraft people going into witchcraft just you know coming to Jesus man coming to Jesus that sounds so stuffy right now yeah but I think there's a movement happening where people are like man I've lived my whole life under the religion in rules of living in the natural and negating the supernatural and obviously we can sometimes over correct and sometimes when we talk about content sometimes you need to kind of over correct so people land somewhere in the middle but the theme that I'm noticing from some of our audience whether in person or online is it's this well intention thing of like we want to live through a supernatural spiritual lens um but just like religion like in the name of we don't want to have any sin in our life we start going so crazy that we start operating in religion and telling you can't do this you can't do that we don't understand what the Bible is really saying and so what I'm seeing from people is in the attempt to live life from a spiritual lens uh I think we can get caught up in like either like the far extremes of everything is a demon or what's the thing with alcohol or this thing with Starbucks and this thing that and the other and so but I'm thinking is like well then who becomes the arbiter of like who thinks too carnally and naturally about the things in the natural and just like hey dude you stubbed your toe a demon didn't trip you you're okay versus who's the arbiter of hey man that's too spiritual not everything's a demon or it's this or that and so I was curious from your perspective um do you see everything as spiritual and how do you have that perspective like what what is your do you feel like there's just some perspective that we're missing if we're trying to live we're trying to almost over correct our lives to looking at looking through a spiritual lens yeah I almost put that on like a spectrum of of personification because if you go into like Kabbalah or like um really high up Eastern Chinese medicine or some of the scientific dualism sometimes new age there's like no personification so satan is just energy it right there's no such thing as a real demon there's just a bad mindset right or attitudes and then people pendulum swing to the other side where everything is personified so everything has a like cause yeah I sat in a chair and it broke there must be a demon that exactly there's a demon in the chair or these weird things and what's great about scripture is it includes both so like the original manuscript is actually a dialing in of the middle where it's both like there are things that are strongholds of the mind where there is no demon mm-hmm but they're storytelling we can personify it so that we understand it yes there's a serpent inside of a person's mind but there's nothing in the mind talking to them it's just a stronghold but then also there are real serpents and real demons and real things that will speak to you um and the arbiter on it is like you have to have a relationship with Jesus and if you do not you have no idea what you're doing and you can you can loosely follow science and you can loosely follow um you know energetics and kinesiology it'll sort of work until it doesn't it works until it is a real thing that shows up that wants to kill you and then it doesn't work anymore because you don't know how to deal with that mm-hmm because the the object of something being real is that it can adapt so it's adaptive or mal-adaptive it's changing so like a principality it's observing you it's changing what it does based on how you deal with it that's real that's something with the mind something with like it can it can think and operate yeah versus more dead religions it's just like energy and there's no adaptation you know but Christians are the worst because we personify everything and and so it's just like it's still like I stand to my original thesis where I'm like bro just like this is it Christians are really weird they just they get into this mind so where everything is a personal attack and it's not the case it's just you didn't manage you know you didn't manage your routine well so you don't feel very good and you're rebuking uh the devil but there's nobody cares about you like there's no devil that cares it's usually asleep and so we have to sometimes we have to balance out like what's my responsibility we're first is what's heaven's responsibility and if we fail to take person responsibility we end up over personifying everything around this if we take too much responsibility then we end up practicing self-reliance with really cute spiritual language and so they're both ditches yeah you know on both ends of it and this scripture tends to keep us kind of doubt into the middle so what do you feel like is that what you're saying keeps you more doubt in the middle is just reading your Bible pretty much every day yeah we're reading my Bible and realizing okay like dude okay there's real stuff out there it's three James James and it talks about like little sin which starts with a desire where does desire come from neurochemistry not the devil but then it turns into big sin and big sin will attack you like a full-grown lion oh now we're personified so we're going from one extreme to the other it's giving you both extremes in one story yeah so we have to understand where we are in the middle but then you read David reminding his soul that god has never I was young and now I'm old and I've never seen the righteous for say well now he's dealing with memory so there's no there's no personification there's just memory context why did Joseph name his son Vanessa because he need to help to forget that's not a demon he wasn't going after a rebuking a demon god came in and specifically dealt with Joseph's memory not a demon attacking Joseph it was him so the stories of the Bible give you both hands and so when you read it kind of tells you where we need to go and then you learn how to pray and you have this conversation with Holy Spirit and he's like oh yeah this happened when you were six what happened when I was six you started having this conversation with with something else that's guiding you along the way and it's it's got to be just appropriate to the moment that's just like really that's a hard question to answer I know that's so I'm trying the best I can but yeah but that's why it's called the deep end I think part of the deep end is like hey you asked you asked to go to the meat stuff yeah you asked to go to the stuff that Paul wanted to get to in the New Testament never got to this is why because it's yeah you do have to do with the basic stuff first and then you can keep that in mind they hated him for it too yeah they were like however you're making this stuff up we don't agree with you they had the same conversations people who are like man the church is more fractured than ever before no it ain't it was way more fractured in Paul's time than it is now way more fractured and way more confused they were trying to figure out how to have a central source of truth at least we have that we have the Bible but now we have too many translations and you got youtubers who are like the passion is the devil no it's not it's you guys need to shut up yeah there are different translations that that speak the different elements of the story but the church right now is it's lacking depth but it's still it's relatively centralized like it's still yeah there's not a lot of infighting yeah amongst the church now like you have these different facets that love to fight and bigger but back then it was way worse yeah and in the early church days yeah I love a Francis Chan so he's like he was he was really hard on this a couple years ago at a conference he was at and he was like he was like man I made the mistake of like abandoning one part of the body of Christ because that's what I thought I was supposed to do but I didn't ask about or something something similar to that story and it's it's been a good reminder for me to remember like don't say to one part of the body I don't need you just because you're one part of it that you think is more important than the other like you might be able to see everything but if you can't grab anything you're kind of screwed unless you're belly fat yeah exactly that kind of then you said I don't need the belly fat okay I want us to get to the concept here in a second but second question is this is something I'm sure if I'm feeling this I'm sure other people are feeling this too but it's like on the topic of being in the deep end all the time in a season of just so much revelation it's not sure it's a lot for you it's definitely a lot for me how do you stay grounded when you're getting pumped up so full of knowledge and revelation and like sometimes I feel like I don't have anything to say because I'm probably wrong because I know I'm probably missing perspective or I don't really understand the root of it and so it can kind of lead to almost stagnation like there's I know there's a real risk of getting knowledge and revelation it's almost dangerous because sometimes it's better to have the blinders on you can't see anything and you just kind of run straight but when you see it all you're like oh my gosh dude if I was going to really do this the right way I could I could pray 24/7 or I could just go you know do this thing every day and whatever but what maybe this is something you struggle with too I don't know but like do you struggle to stay grounded is there something you do that helps you really really stay grounded in seasons like this where you're just you're you're learning so much and you're rising you're wrong about so many things and you're right about so many things at the same time this is probably part personality okay the part of it might be chalked up to personality I go to church my church doesn't care like my friends at church I'm not I'm not always in an environment where people are like oh Taylor right how does God think about this it's a very that doesn't happen my wife has more revelation than I do so I'm surrounded by people who to an extent they either don't really care that much or they're at equal levels you know and I don't I think God gives you revelation according to your your need for it and your capacity to use it so if you're learning it's probably because God wants you to yeah it doesn't I was I say that to say like it doesn't feel to me like I have that much revelation I don't I don't think it feels it doesn't feel that way what I do have is have a life that's riddled with now because I wouldn't my life now is filled with like weird problems um this is why I didn't this is why like a year ago like circa 2020 and 24 I'm like no we're not doing this because I'm not stupid I can sort of see like when God raises people up there's just like stuff that sort of comes and tries to like deal with it and snatch them out and I know how the spiritual hierarchy of everything works and so I didn't really want to do this because I'm like there's a cost to it and like you know the sneaky man it gots me in like he's not really he's not really telling me what the cost is gonna gonna look like and so I'm grounded right now partially just through my problems and there's a there's something important about that because we hate our problems and then we go if we had no problems we would go crazy there's no groundedness there's nothing to sort of like um keep you humble and keep you connected to like it's one thing to have revelation but it's a different thing entirely to to have to use that revelation to fight for your life um to go through it what kept Joseph grounded in what season is dream vision was part of it yeah he has dream and then he but but but for a large portion of his life we kept him grounded was prison getting out of it and staying in it okay is remember the reason that his brothers hated him was because he wasn't grounded in reality he had no like yeah he was kind of just an arrogant little kid so that doesn't seem like hey man let's get some revelation and you will know you have a revelation because the whole world will hate you and your brothers will try to kill you that's that's not what that's actually being like kind of ungrounded it looks like you know so like in in regards to like what keeps you grounded in some regards like you are grounded by the reality of your problems and the reality of your mess and God's giving you tools to deal with it and fight through it um does that mean sense that's really helpful actually yeah that gives me almost like gives me something to do if there's enough crazy things going on as it is but that's that's really good if we were focused on our problems and we understood like what we need to work on we'd naturally be so much for granted because we just see what God's doing in day-to-day life and we that's all we want to talk about and see that we need him yes and be like okay I'm partially I'm grounded by the fact that if God doesn't show up this is going to get really bad for me yeah yeah and that solves the problem that you see with a lot of people who are so spiritual that you're like bro do you do anything or do you medicate villages 24/7 it's just weird this is my thing with Christian witches and like why I keep talking about it is like if you just get revelation to use it to achieve your own ambition you're just a warluck you're not actually you're not a you're not a king you're not a steward you're not you're just using it you're using revelation to get what you want and that's not the point of revelation yikes been there too same oh for sure same yeah yeah wow that's super helpful man thanks for letting me go through that stuff we are about half an hour in cool let's do a quick trailer we'll do it we'll do it yeah you won't just do it now so I don't run out of time sure yeah at the end yeah and you can just we'll spice it in we'll take a break and then we'll come right back guys all right ready yeah the mind specifically warfare in the mind so tell you why we're recording this right now um the currency of heaven released last week yeah how did I go by the way is it doing really well I think so I don't know I'm pretty sure it did well that's what I haven't looked well we did we did in New York and then we did the business event and we just came back and slept and trying to like recover yeah but it's done and it's out and that was that book cost me so much because it was I had to live it to write it it's not just like principle driven it's experienced driven so there's stories in it and the feedback has been really well but I know that God wants me to write a book on mental warfare next and I was kind of like no I don't want to I don't want to live that sounds terrifying to write yeah dude I don't want to nobody wants to go crazy to write a book and so I know enough about the mind like we obviously teach about it in fact this morning I was putting together are like an independent third party curriculum council board that I'm putting together oh wow they're a scientist and professors and uh trauma counselors and it's gonna be really cool and they're coming to our events dang and they're like oh this is really good I don't like cool I'm not that's good I'm totally educated just prayed one time um it's crazy how that works wow guys that was over simplified but I can't you can't be the guy's like God just told me this because then you can like just build weird cult stuff like it's got to be empirically validated and have like you know attached to reality but this this next book is going to be something that I'm like I know to an extent I'm gonna have to live part of it to write it and so I've been just telling God no I don't want to do that and then we're in New York City we went to one of our buddies uh churches before the event started and he's just doing this thing where he's like some of you guys need to go like 100% you go like all the way I was like okay fine I'll go all the way I'll write this book um that was for me like that's well that was my commitment it's like I'm gonna go all the way I'll write the book yeah and uh I was just been praying that God would protect my mind because I don't want to live through mental warfare I hate it and I understand it but I don't want I don't want any cracks in the armor you know what I'm saying mm-hmm so we go to the event it's awesome and Saturday morning I wake up and I need to know like something's wrong with me but I don't know what it is it's a Saturday morning so I go to a Starbucks I'm sitting down to see you guys oh by the way uh I never look for your water bottle sorry I told Heather to tell Lindsay I totally forgot it's fine well you're about to find out why I forgot so I go to Starbucks and I'm like open up my Bible I'm like what's wrong I kind of feel panicky um and anxious but for no reason and I'm like hmm I'm gonna pray and all I can see as soon as I start to pray it's just like the worst case things happening ever like getting at a car like one of my kids dying like and I was kind of backed out of it and I was like that's not this is a normal I'm I'm not a negative pessimist person and I kind of read my Bible and then I keep forgetting what I'm reading it I can't focus and I'm just like all over the place so I tell my wife I was like hey I think I'm either really tired I'm going crazy or and this is what it's like sometimes being trained for something it's not like you have the third party disassociation of being like oh yeah I'm being trained for something that's not what it feels like it feels like you're going crazy and losing your mind so the whole day was like this and so you can see to my like my biometric charge just like stress is like higher Saturday than it was doing the events is it because you're by trying to recover from the events no is because I'm experiencing spiritual warfare okay probably from the events so I get to the airport in New York and I'm like God am I going to die or something like what is happening and he was like you're going to be fine just get to get to Nashville you'll be good I woke up the next morning totally gone and it was kind of good but it started me thinking through like okay I think that I'm starting to develop the table of contents for the new book and it started Saturday while I'm living the book exactly what I prayed that wouldn't happen is happening and in the middle of it what I couldn't see in the middle of it was like there was a piece of your brain to sort of capturing data of what you're living through and then you can think back on it later from a more neutral third party standpoint is so I went back Sunday and last night and I was just looking through what happened to me Saturday and I was like I have some notes on this let's talk about the warfare that happens in a person's minds because the mind is one of the most important functional tools that God has given us to be able to do our jobs on earth and if there's anything the enemy would love you would love your mind and your mouth that's what he wants but he can't get your mouth without your mind so he goes for the mind first you know if this is part of the reason the demons want hosts they don't have they don't have the ability to really warp in control reality without a person's mouth but they can't get to someone's mouth without their mind and so they need the functionality of a person's mind to be able to partner and get into this dimension because demons can't step into this dimension it's technically they can't really really high-ranking things can sometimes create an illusion but they don't exist in the physical plane they exist in the spiritual plane and so they have to have the partnership to convert them into the physical plane well I'm just trying to reconcile an idea in my head classic chick but what about like people who are going through like like we know people have flirted and like beat up by demons in person is it because they allowed it or because like what do you mean like they can't get in the physical plane it depends on the tier of the depends on the tier of like what power and access they have it depends on what other like are you next to an altar they could they could create tangible outcomes are they doing it to themselves but they don't remember like there's a lot of different there's a lot of different scenarios there you're talking about people with like scratches they got hit in the face whatever yeah yeah this is like right did you scratch yourself but you don't remember you're hitting yourself like we don't know it depends on what what spiritual entity is present and it depends on where you are in the world and all of the geographical territories but the point is that the mind is like the crowned jewel of like the human the specimen it's we have the mind of Christ we we're literally kind of cloned after the mind of God and that's in January I'm teaching on the mind of God and this is something that like started really rapidly changing my worldview of what is a human it's actually upgraded my viewpoint on like what is a human and we're like freaking missiles we're insane because God is God has gifted us with like not only the credentials to do things on the earth and to warp things on the earth based on what we need to do but he's given us the capacity to kind of pull on three different three different realms and suck them together at the same time and most of the spiritual realm cannot do that so the easiest way for them to get into the physical plane and mess with this is to find a mind get it to partner with it and then they get their mouth and through their mouth they get to create spiritual laws on the earth that get them what they need to get they if it could if it even could do this through a tree it would it would do it but you can't get a tree to speak and if you even if you did it doesn't have the credentials to do anything and the earth by the way is very dangerous thing for the enemy to mess with as the earth has our own mind and so there's consequences for getting the earth to change without the legality of like doing it for the right reasons so what does it want it wants a human because a human can change the earth and not get in trouble for it there's no repercussions to it while you smile like that because I'm just like dude you're opening so many potential cans of worms that people don't have context for they're going I'm sorry did you say the woman the earth is a her and she's got her own mind of like yes you should go watch the episode with Francis Miles the earth definitely has a has a thinking capacity and a memory capacity so part of part of how you know that a mind is functioning well is through its capacity to store and access memory so it's impossible to access memory without a mind behind it so the earth has a mind because the earth is called as a witness to testify well testifying requires memory memory and the capacity to speak so that the earth has its own chemical makeup so I'm getting down to the nitty gritty of this we have a massive tool that has so much power but it also is a giant liability if we don't know how to protect it and guard it and get it off so most of us are our own catalysts to our own downfalls it's not it's not there's something else is coming in predatory overpowering us because that breaks the legal structure and the hierarchy like we are really we're up there like human beings we're we're we're up there like there's very few things in the cosmos that will outrank the credentials and the capacity of a human being and so this there's very few things that can actually take us out and so the easiest way for the enemy is to get the ruler of a human which is the minds get it warped so there's partnership with the demonic and then we're taking ourselves out and so there's all these books and stuff the battlefield of the mind that are all like great they're filled with scripture but no one's really taking that and taking okay here's the let's take the the neurochemical approach because the enemy study neurochemistry and he knows how all these hijacks work and pattern recognition and predictive capacity mental schemas mental heuristics how does the brain actually organize everything and if the brain gets corrupted early then the brain becomes a destructive unit inside of the human and it begins to make their lives suck and no amount of deliverance will fix it you can get deliverance but if you don't rewrite the schemas in the minds you'll just continue creating your own destruction this is a very important topic yeah that's interesting I'm seeing as you're saying that I'm seeing it through the lens of like where governments get that from like I don't know the exact countries and what the agendas are but you hear a lot about you know other countries want if you want to really take out another country figure out how to implant your own agenda into that country so it's self-destructs rather than you haven't you create a war yeah cheaper it will take a little bit longer but it's cheaper and eventually you'll have your own country just somewhere else with a different name on it it's a little crazy real quick yeah they call it an ideology yeah so like how do you infect a country with a virus but you don't it's not like a bio weapon yeah it's a it's a it's a mental weapon so it'd be like an ideology which is a technology of the mind so like victimhood in the United States welfare or you know sexual dysmorphia yeah confusion these are all the ideologies that were planted uh-huh and then watered and then grown and now you see like this person has like it's the same as having like a disease you your body when you have a disease it's actually deadly you know why it's deadly is your body can't tell the difference it's like it's killing good cells it's it's like cancer it's like an overwhelming amount of like white blood cell count and it starts killing everything it's actually confusion that makes disease deadly and that's what's happening with minds in America but all over the place where it's like it's confusion like they we don't even know how to we don't know to fight it because we don't know it's bad um you know what I'm saying yeah it seems like could I get another coffee sorry just wanting some caffeine you're good as the only thing I was gonna say is it's interesting like if I want if you want to take out a country seems like one of the best things you do is rewrite the beliefs and reroute their attention we're gonna talk about attention today okay because it's like dude you look at social media like I'm a nerd for social media you look at that it's like man if you can if your attention's on something long enough you start to believe what you see over and over it's just we're just in a time period where it's it's expanding so quick because the big companies have been using it for years even with branding like they say with branding like you have to see a brand 110 times before you recognize as a brand how long how many times does it take for your brain to accept a new belief it's like you hear three or four times from other people you accept it as truth it's like bro the war right now what you're saying is like is what's true yeah bro it's like that's and it's dude this is information that's like if your brain's not already starting to break it probably should be because then you're realizing like I'm realizing I'm like dude if you don't have the truth you have nothing you have no beliefs you don't know where to put your attention like you need truth yeah your tap so your tap on was to do another episode like Edward Bernays and public relations really which is how American branding was created which was literally a clone of third right propaganda oh great dude so everyone says this or that's demonic is like bro youtube is that kind of a bro yeah you want to think that really came from demonic stuff okay if you say if you study public relations it was a rebrand of propaganda it was it was a public rebranding of a very destructive tool but anyways oh boy dude all right but here's here's where it gets fascinating is the enemy satan satan the devil whatever if you're if you're not a christian you know satan or resistance universal whatever there's a specific anointing because there is a satan and there is a devil and there is a captain of the adversaries and he is kind of he's going to get us in trouble oh boy he's got a he's got a specific anointing over over the minds over convincing people of his of his viewpoint his worldview and so the people who sort of work for him and work with him have been trained in this same anointing and it is an anointing you read as equal as you were an anointed cherub you were anointed you had the anointing but the gifts of God are also without repentance so I don't believe that he's lost that capacity um I think he used that skill and that anointing to begin to pervert things and you see I'm doing this in Genesis Eve's having a negotiation with them and by the end of it she's convinced that what he's saying is correct true and she's got the most highest firepower mind and existence so like the nobody who's lived since Eve has the same cognitive makeup as Eve and even her she ended the negotiation with the serpent being like I think you're right the enemy will convince you that disobedience isn't is wisdom it's prudence it's it's intelligent what does that sound like it will let's go back before that because some some people won't accept the Eve thing they'll just get they'll get mad about it but let's go back before Eve and let's look at what this skill set did before humanity was here imagine being an angel in the presence of the Word of God and the presence of God and there's fire everywhere and every single day you're standing in front of God the eleon and you can feel this power and you're intelligent you know an angel knows they were they were in the courts of heaven they know where their power comes from they they can see the light and the connections and all of the tangible pieces of God's nature and his presence and then through a conversation with Satan being convinced that you must leave and turn on that God this is some significant firepower like a third of the angels fell with him but they fell because they were convinced what were they convinced by what would convince you to do that yeah that's yeah you'd have to be convinced that something is true that you once didn't think was true it does somebody agree so there's not only it's not only humans that he has his ability to do with its angelic beings and spiritual forces he's got a he's he's like a a full on anointed convincing he can reshape your worldview not only men but angels and this is where you have to we have to be careful to make sure we don't open up negotiations with anything that is contrary to what God has told us to do because by the end of a negotiation with Satan or the people that work the entities that work for Satan by the end of that negotiation you will find yourself in rebellion of God thinking that you did the right thing and this is how deception is crafted and deception is created even have you ever met a deceive person who knows they're deceived no it violates the definition of of deception the by nature like to be deceived you have to be convinced that you're correct yeah so you know you're when you're dealing with somebody is deceived you're really dealing with somebody who's had a negotiation with the entities of hell and come out the other side like Eve speaking like I'm doing the right thing and so we have to know how to protect ourselves from that because it is the most dangerous thing to your destiny to your calling is what's going on in your mind hmm what are you thinking thoughts are real things what are the connections happening in your in your neurophysiology like what's happening so we have to go through it and we have to look at it big sense yeah one one key note on this is um when you sense that there's something in your mind that is not the presence of God it's not conducive and by the way we can judge this by the fruit so when you start to feel fear this fear of the spirit no no sir is a pride for the spirit nope nah is um oh thank you so much is impatience or anxiety a fruit of the spirit no no so when you have something in your mind you're the best ever thank you there's nobody like you let's give it up for Heather okay thank you thanks baby I was still in event when you have something in your mind you can tell your mind is not exactly what it should be shut your mouth be quiet hmm do not curse yourself when your mind is not what it should be because there is no point in getting control of a person's mind except to get control of their mouth the reason that that the scripture talks about the power of life and death of being in the tongue is because you are creating contracts in the spirit by what you say and so there are times when I'll feel this Jake I'll be like I don't I think my mind is not completely healthy right now it's just like like Saturday and my world my my my rules kick in I was like I'm gonna shut up because the point of whatever is digging its claws into my mind right now whether it's a demonic thing or whether it's just an old traumatic stronghold is being relapsed we're gonna talk about strongholds today too whatever it is the the entire purpose for why it was planted in me was to get me to speak something that warps my reality and then I'm like off in the wrong direction and so whatever you're feeling this it's really important you just be quiet slow down don't say anything unless you can make sure it's fact checked against the word of God interesting can I share something that's that's coming up as you're saying that so you're talking about mental warfare and like when you're feeling that quote unquote and then before we got related to this topic we were talking about how sometimes a demon doesn't is not is not even the one that's doing that it's a mental stronghold that you have I had a dream a couple of weeks ago I was telling Issue this last night that I feel like I saw the embodiment of the spirit of fear in a dream and normally I don't wake up from dreams and go hey I saw this or I like it just doesn't happen I'm just kind of like I saw a thing Thanos on a construction site that's usually how my dreams go and it doesn't make any sense and there's like okay nice babe we're going to sleep but this one I woke up now is immediately like I just encountered the spirit of fear and the dream was I was in a two story house there was like four of us on the second floor and this lady comes up the stairs and she's like she's kind of like giving off the vibe of like hey I want to help you I'm going to warn you ahead of time she's like hey just so you know there's rain coming and it's going to flood the second story and you're all going to die and drown if you don't figure something out and I was like that's weird and everyone's like terrified like petrified like all we know is that water is going to flood I'm like that's a lot of water dude like are you going to get 30 feet or so of water in here like that doesn't make any sense two days go by in the dream and the water there's there's sunny day and then the rain comes and everyone's terrified no matter if it's sunny or rainy but when the rain comes it never fills up even the pothole that's in the street in front of the house and so I just stand there and I'm like this person's probably a liar and I just kind of move on with my life and I'm good but then the next day comes and I see everybody and then I can almost see like into the future everyone's still just as terrified on day or day one thousand as they were on day one when that person told them that it was eventually going to flood and they were all going to die and I woke up and I was like huh that's fear yeah and then the only thing was the only other person in that dream that I didn't mention was this guy that said hey I'm going to go to a bunker and for some reason he says he's going to southeast Australia don't I don't know why that is but he's going to a bunker and he's like you should come with me and I was like well either I'd die in a flood what's the weird look for where you looking southeast Australia yeah he's going he is like hey southeast Australia there's a bunker I'm going to go be safe there and I was like dude that's weird because either I'm going to like how are you ever going to come up and experience life again so I had two options either I can live petrified and fear and just wait to die and hope that I can be fine or I can go stay in this little bunker thing in southeast Australia and be safe but I'll never experience anything and I decided we'll neither of those options work and then that's when I woke up that's like that's fear because either you have an experience with fear one time and you bend to its will forever you never change or you go be safe and you protect yourself at all across but you never risk anything you know never go for anything in your life and so I think that's kind of speaking to what you're saying is that not it's not always a demonic thing you might have encountered it once but if you let it just do its job and implant the poison on the first time it ever has to come back because you're still acting as if it's there with you at the moment do you know what just happened in southeast Australia this is zero clue this was this dream was two and a half weeks ago what happened the day before Thanksgiving that's when I had it yeah whatever is a massive yeah there was a shooting oh really um in a Jewish community oh really Bondi Beach mm oh yeah I did hear about that three days ago two days ago interesting bro you need to start sharing your dreams with me well as a flood and some dude that wanted to go to a bunker so yeah yeah crazy okay there's I'm gonna do this episode different I'm gonna give you the solution first and then we're gonna unpack the science okay behind it usually we do the science great then we talk about the spiritual solution okay let's hit the solution first and let's hit the science why you laughing because I love it it sounds fun um the solution first is gratitude all all attacks of the mind aim to bury you underneath the weight of something that is an optical illusion or it is a mischaracterization or it is a bit larger than reality picture of something in the future and gratitude is a literal inoculation against all of these things the scripture is like all over the New Testament it's talking about gratitude first less first estloneus 518 give thanks in all circumstances whether you're happy or sad whether you are richer poor doesn't matter it's talking about giving thanks if you use 520 give thanks always this is very specific when the Bible is like here's when to do it you have like timing inside of scripture and one of the fascinating studies is studying the timing of God because God's this really interesting like he's got this really interesting personality trait that's like the 11th hour type thing and I don't that's not my favorite part of God there are a lot of things I love about God and there are things that I'm like trying to understand why he is this way I don't I love him but I don't know if you put me most of walking up to the already parted red sea yes yes he's like he's a clutch figure yeah like he's he's God's comfortable in the fourth quarter with everybody thinking that we're going to lose doesn't bother him but bothers me and so the timing of God is fascinating but then when you get to this thing of gratitude you don't see like the timing is all of the time like doesn't matter what it what if it's morning if it's evening if things are going good if they're going bad Colossians 2 6 says abound in Thanksgiving you're overwhelmed with it it's filling up here's grateful all of the time Colossians 3 15 says again be thankful Colossians 4 2 continue with Thanksgiving Philippians 4 6 remember when we went 3 Philippians 4 6 through 7 about how to make your request to God says soak them in gratitude so mean to soak something like you just you almost like overdo it you overflow over it it's like molecularly you can't separate the water from the clothing yeah like it's just two mix together yeah it's like molecularly you can't separate the gratitude from the need it's just like stuck together it's just like you soak it in Thanksgiving first Timothy 4 3 he's talking about receiving things with Thanksgiving Hebrews 12 28 let us be grateful Romans 121 check this out although they knew God they did not give thanks to him and they were separated from God a lack of Thanksgiving will separate you from God it will pull you away from his presence it's not God's fault it's your fault Luke 17 5 Jesus is telling or they're writing the story about Jesus and he's healing somebody says only one returned to give thanks so you're going to be in the minority automatically when you become a grateful person this is the structure of the world so you have to be comfortable being in minority because all your crew and all your friends are like man yeah you just you need to talk about it you need to get it out I totally get it how does this make you feel and you have to have the ability to stand in the minority seat and be like no I'm just grateful mm-hmm who's that is that your little guy is that you Harrison hey bro hey Harrison what's up man what do you do this hair is so long dude we're recording a podcast can you go back outside we'll come see you in a second I love you you're the best oh my gosh dude dude he's he looks like a soccer player right now he's freaking he's gonna be an athlete something yeah he's so coordinated to like Kate I love her but it's the coordination it's not peak coordination Kate's about her mind is insane Harrison's just like coordinated to the nines I can tell fall off something land bounce back up do it again the gratitude gratitude Matthew 11 25 Jesus gives thanks before he asks for anything in fact when he when he multiplied the food and did the miracle he gave thanks before he asked for the multiplications always did that it's surgical bro we see this like okay here if you're gonna do surgery on somebody you don't remove the tumor before you open it up yeah that's but we understand that because it's linear and logical but then with spiritual concepts we think we can just mess around with the ingredients in the timing no no there's a reason that you give thanks before you ask for it mm-hmm this is because Jesus demonstrated this at the last supper in Luke 22 17 Jesus gives thanks when he's raising Lazarus from the dead he says father thank you that you have heard me thanks gratefulness gratitude acts 2735 Paul is on a sinking ship and he gives thanks to God to freak his around with you bro like there's you got it they're probably looking at this guy like he's like something's wrong with his brain yeah minority you're gonna be that you got to be that person you got to be comfortable with like okay so here's here's the way that you inoculate against it as you begin to become a person who has a reflex like a an instant reflex of like gratitude hey man here's some bad news praise God God always delivers what you're weird hey we have this this problem we have to cancel this event praise God man I'm so grateful that God always takes care of what he wants to do if he doesn't want to do it we won't do it but I think he does you just start to develop this like worldview and it comes in it begins to override your what they call mentally is like top down processing it starts to override the meaning that you attach to everything around you which gets really important once we get into the science I can tell because if if we get into the science and we don't have gratitude you are going to be terrified oh because your mind will literally warp your reality to meet your fears it's it's not just predictive it is creative these are different things the neuroscientists like to sit on the predictive chassis where they're like yeah your mind is just predicting a bunch of stuff prediction errors and all the stuff and then the metaphysical guys who are like new age and energy they switch from predictive to creative and the word of God has both together you both predict and you create at the same time it's the same operating system yeah in the middle interesting the gratitude is like the it's you know when you're like when we're playing pickleball because you destroy me and pickleball or no but I think we were playing a couple weeks ago and I was getting mad because I felt like you were taking cheap shots at you no I had a partner who didn't know how to play oh and so you just kept hitting the ball at this partner and I was like that's not fair but I don't think you were doing it on purpose I think it's just accidental but you know how there's okay if we're playing with Heather uh-huh and we know she's having a rough day because she's pregnant yeah if we keep hitting it at her like you did when you played your wife wow true time of true yeah it's true that's a cheap shot that's a cheap shot what is a cheap shot so you kick someone when they're down it's like here's the vulnerability I'm gonna go after the vulnerability gratitude is the cheap shot of spiritual warfare it's like this is what the enemy is miscalculating he does not understand he cannot deal with it there is no way for him to survive it and so we're gonna go right at that vulnerability and we're going to give thanks and Jesus was taking cheap shots at the kingdom of darkness all the time why wouldn't you if the goal is to win you take what you have you take what you can get and when somebody gets this revelation around gratitude they start to this overwhelm the resilience of hell like there's nothing that the enemy can really do to take out a grateful person it becomes impossible because God starts to show up because the ingredients are correct this is how my analogy works if that makes sense uh-huh yeah this is connecting all is this change I'm assuming this is probably changing your prayer life quite a bit all the time yeah yeah because I don't want I'm tired of praying that is classified in heaven and there's chronicles in heaven that are filled with my prayers and I think that if I'm if I'm honest a lot of my prayers categorically are going to the filing cabinet of prayers that are complaints no wonder if there's fire underneath it I'm tired of those yeah it's like file this prayer way as like Taylor doesn't he's concerned and he's complaining and he's begging God to fix something that God already said he's fixed and I want my prayers to be classified around faith and gratitude and so I'm not I don't want to I don't want to keep being like God would you just would you fix this I'm like God thank you that your word says that you've already fixed it and already I'm already the head and not the tail and you about the Bible already says that I'm healed and like I want my prayers cataloged where there's power yeah you know uh-huh yeah that's so cool and yep so how do we take this and pop it into warfare first and foremost this is like one of the ways that we use the mind to get into the spiritual because the mind came to stay the mind can go physical it can get into the intangible but not quite spiritual the intangible is not always spiritual that would be the realm of the emotions and the okay the neurochemistry yeah yeah meaning there's like a factory in our brain that's trying to map things that aren't physical reality mm-hmm if you could get into the mind and look at it the projections that the mind creates you would see um you would see like a blueprint mirror of everything that's physical we're trying to we're actually mapping it in a holographic type of state where it's about to go really we're going to we're just going to dive deep again all right and do some things when we can come back up right but there's a everything I'm seeing right now and everything you're seeing and everything that everyone's watching on youtube right now is just a mirror that's corrected in our mind's recreation capacity and actually we're not actually seeing the way that we think we're seeing what we're seeing is different shades of light and energy and then there's a our our retinas are they're taking in all of this light data and then there's a part of our brain is reorganizing that and reclustering it and we're seeing a mirror of physical things sweet it's it's it's technically real but it's actually an imaginative we're still using our imagination to recreate it yeah and so when when we have a seer who's like somebody who sees in the spirit realm they're using their imagination but it's no less real than you looking at me right now it's not intentionally using your imagination the same way we're using our imagination yeah now we're like well you just imagined it well so did you bro chancho you're imagining the street if you have no imagination you have no sight you can't see anything so our brain can go into this realm and it can it can recreate it in the natural and it can recreate in the spiritual and it can tie the two together and part of this knowledge is what Paul's talking about in second Corinthians he says we're human captain obvious a possible we're human but we don't wage war as humans do we use gods mighty weapons not worldly weapons to knock down the strongholds of what does he say demons or principalities now we use these weapons to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments this doesn't make a lot of sense if we're talking about spiritual warfare why is he talking about human reasoning and false arguments why is he talking about that i don't honestly i don't i'm i'm trying to think of the actual answer you're gonna get are you intrigued or you i'm very intrigued right now i'm like i'm like man i miss that i don't even remember reading that verse second Corinthians 10 3 through 5 we destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God one of the things i've said about is he at the event so i was like there's a difference between knowing about God and knowing God thank you for showing us what it's like to knowing God so one of the one of the hindrances to knowing God is pride so he says proud obstacles if there's actually there's probably one thing in the whole world that will cause God to actually put his hand against you and try to shove you over that's that's only pride that's all it is because God's the Bible says God resist the proud he doesn't say he resists the stupid so good luck everybody's good you don't have to be intelligent to make it he doesn't say he resists even the greedy it doesn't say he resists the insecure he only resists the proud and so this is doubling up because he's saying we we destroy every proud obstacle where does pride come from it comes from this representation of ourselves imaginatively which we'll talk about in a second and then he keeps going we capture every rebellious thought and teach them to obey Christ so this is the Apostle Paul personifying a thought as a thing before we have neuroscience before we understand that thoughts are things that there's actual thoughts that create personas in our mind that organize and cluster together to create personality structures that create memories that create all the stuff so Paul's like one of the first metaphysic neuroscientists that exists and he had no training for it it was all the spirit of God coming in and saying like hey a thought as a person the thing it's a it's a measurable observable phenomena in your mind and you can teach your thoughts to obey Jesus make sense yep we see this happening when when somebody is um it's struggling in the mind but they won't deal with the minds it's very easy for the enemy to come in and like take over your thoughts reassign them like think about like a team I have a team we have the deep in team we have the novos team we have the twc team we have all these different teams and they're all given jobs to do and different people on the team are assigned different roles you have a CMO and you have an operations manager and a logistics coordinator an event person and a booker and all of these teams have different job descriptions right yep the same thing occurs inside of a person's thoughts at a higher level you have different parts of the brain that are responsible to do different things so you have the omigula that's responsible for finding threats and you have the hippocampus that's responsible for sort of classifying experiences in memory and then you have um the prefrontal cortex is responsible for like executive functions so like higher level thinking I'm not going to respond like a reptile here because I'm a human yeah um and in fact when most people are acting like animals it's because their prefrontal cortex is offline so your prefrontal cortex can shut down in high stress high stakes traumatic situations your prefrontal cortex goes partially offline and then you're just instinctive like an animal so they have different jobs and they use those different jobs to create different neurochemicals and neurotransmitters and those create thoughts that we can think and personify with and most of our thoughts are repeated from the day before what did you say the amount of the actual percentage of thoughts that we have are the same that we had yesterday theoretically um neurosciences for say like 60 65 percent I think it's higher than that I think it's probably 80 to 90 percent are literally clones from the day before wow because the job description has not been changed for the different centers in the brain that are responsible for them and so they just do the same thing every day and so they repeat your thoughts wow okay and when there's vulnerabilities inside of the mind or the the schemas of the mind which we'll talk about in a second when there's vulnerability what happens is the enemy can come in with an open door and you can just step in and so you can have a very a very high profile um great anointed leader of God and then Jesus can turn around and say you are the devil get behind me and then you have Peter how easy was it for him to slip into an unguarded thought he had Judas in and so this is how the enemy has taken over all these different parts of society in the world and we look at it and we're like how did we get here how did America get here how did the UK get here how did we get to the place where like everyone's changing their gender ends there's there's math panic and there's suicide and there's all the stuff and then you see there's this being who's specifically anointed to convince people to do certain things and he's gone after the chokeholds of society and convince them and the church is next if the church doesn't get reconnected back to God then that you'll see the church beginning to come up with theology that justify all of the issues and the mistakes and the sin it's already happening yeah it's already happening all over the place so why is he going after the minds and how does the mind actually do this and how do we scientifically how do we merge science with scripture to be able to undo the programming and replace it with God's programming I'm going to hopefully not too fast but really fast I'm hanging on we're good um any questions before we know it's it's making sense I'm following your train of thought right now let me go to the bathroom and press okay um I'm back let's talk about let's let's hit the science of strongholds because this is where the rubber meets the road in regards to it's it's helpful to know some of this but it's unhelpful unless you know what it means like understanding the mind doesn't necessarily give you anything it's it's just kind of like understanding a computer but not knowing what to do with it right you have to have something to do this is where a lot of people find themselves is they have these strongholds that are like computer programs they just kick off and fire and they're not aware that they're being run by a stronghold um when do you see something online it will just cause you to retreat a little change your nervous system it'll force you into like a pair of or a sympathetic state we're just like sort of hijacked and afraid or you'll see somebody online and it'll trigger you and you'll start to compare like there are certain people online that even today are triggers for me for comparison and it just it's something that I'm working through like working out I don't block them I don't like not like it's weird that what you're doing is you're running from from stuff it but the brain will actually strengthen its its programs if you just run from the trigger all the time oh it doesn't fix the trigger so there's a guy that I really like and we're friends and he's just doing really well really really really well and we started around the same time and it's every time I see his stuff I'm there's a part of me that goes into comparison mode because a lot of crazy things happen to me that I don't think I think we're predatory and I think the enemy's got his hands on it and it's like losing this and losing this and this investment not working and the FTC stuff and it's just like it's just not fair when I look back at it it's just not fair I didn't do anything this is it seems personal you know and it's whenever I see a stuff there's a small trigger there where I'll just go maybe I'm not the real deal and he is because we started at the same place and I feel behind and does that mean sense and what this is it's a it's like a it's like a an autonomous functioning software that just gets double clicked as soon as I see something and we have we are surrounded by these like they're all over the place and if we didn't we would die we have to have that like when you are when you're like running out of food and you have nothing to eat the same thing is double clicked that tries to get you to go find food it's a good thing you know I'm saying yeah when when you are stranded somewhere and you feel like you're never going to get home or whatever if you lose this double click you've got instincts that are being double clicked when you're in front of a moving vehicle and it's racing actually 70 miles an hour you got a double click program is boom sympathetic activation flood with with NURP and FNF and FNF and get you to jump out of the way these things keep us alive so we don't want to delete these but we do want the bad ones that have been corrupted and misfired to sort of go away this is why the mind is so important because the mind is like the governor on all of these things yeah the enemy wants your minds can I ask you a question on that yes so you're saying the more that you run from it the more that software strengthens it let me know how good of an analogy this is because I'm trying to see how I can connect it like when you're let's say you break your ankle from height like you just break it you're probably not going to go on hikes all the time but you're probably not going to also stay in bed 24/7 because it's the strength is not going to come back to it but you're going to at least use a cast and walk on it like what do you feel like it does it work similarly in the minds where it's like and what does that actually look like because if that's how your body heals out assume your mind is part of your body so it probably heals similarly but I've never heard anyone talk about how the mind can heal from something like that because it's not stay in bed and don't do anything and it's also not bro you do a marathon you're going to make it worse so same thing like how does that how does that play into it so there's always a period of time when the body has to heal and you know that that time is required because the body will break if you don't let it heal it will tell you but when you look at somebody is wearing a cast you look at it and you appropriately deduce that there is some weakness inside of whatever that cast is protecting that has to heal up right that's one thing so that would be like a a very micro think about it like topography which is like specific or geography which is specific to like a map which is not it's kind of a map intersects with geography but it's not necessarily it's not geography itself it's not yeah correct it's it's it's bigger than just just a locational geography what we have is we have a part of the body that needs to heal that's okay but then we have all of the connotations around what broke it and that's where your mental heuristics will become wild and it'll turn into a strongholds because if now all of the sudden you're afraid of hiking because the last time you hiked you what you have is usually you have traumatic misfiling of memories there's broken memories you can't actually figure out what to be afraid of so you're just afraid of the neuro linguistic program we'll call this generalization so you're afraid of everything that involves whatever ingredients were there when you broke your ankle in the same way we have like you you I dated the first person ever when I was 17 she cheated on me with my uncle my uncle was my pastor crazy stupid story and it actually happens but then for me to then take that localized experience and then generically go like every time I day somebody they're going to cheat on me with somebody else and therefore I can't date anybody that's the brain generalizing something that should have been generalized it's local and we're generalizing it you know what I'm saying uh-huh so we're taking some of this like a locational topography we're trying to enforce it on all things and that's because of trauma trauma's what does that though in a practical sense what does that look like this person that you said server on the same time as you what does that look like to interact with that to let that part of your brain heal but also not ignore it nor go full on towards it the way I'm the way I use it right now is and this is very different if you're if we're talking about somebody who has been through um like obviously like to sexual abuse or sexual trauma or like significant things it's like yeah you don't need to go like follow your abuser on Instagram right or you don't need to like that's that's not the same thing but how many people like I you can correct me if I'm wrong but I just feel like it's important to put this in like how many people have we heard that have turned to being part of the same sex relationship because either they had a really negative experience with the opposite sex and they said I just don't trust men anymore I'm a woman I don't trust men I feel safer with women like and that's that is like a real thing that's happening sounds kind of like almost similar to what you're speaking to is like if you run from it completely you never deal with it like sorry I interrupted your train of thought but it that was just part of what came up as you were um mentioning that so you're asking how I was using the experience with that trigger yeah I want to clean out the idolatry that is in my heart that will cause me to feel like I am less significant because I'm not as far along as someone who started where I started okay because that is a real that that that instinct shows you my definition of success and failures slightly corrupt yeah if that's what I'm feeling if that's what the trigger is telling me is like Pete you know they're the real deal and maybe I'm not it means that I've got a I've got a miscalculation somewhere in my body or my mind that is telling me the wrong signals because at the end of the day what does success really mean what does it come down to uh am I walking with Jesus and being obedient so anything that makes me feel like success is something other than that and I want to clean it out and so what I do is just take it to Jesus and I say hey I feel like um this is causing me to fall into comparison yeah but the wrong kind of comparison it's not making me go like wow there are new levels in Jesus yeah and there are new things that I can do in heaven and there's like it's causing me to be like why I need to have more success and and so I just kind of give that to you and I'm sorry that it's still somewhere in my body maybe sometimes I'll ask him to help me work through it and that trigger is slowly starting to dissipate let's turn it to go away but imagine if I was running from it just gonna fall everyone who has money everybody has cars this is the weird thing is the mind is just not interested in reality it doesn't care it's not like it's not objectively comparing and it never does um because I have plenty of stuff and it's let's all find it's not objective it just goes that person has more uh-huh and therefore you are a failure okay and it's using a heuristic that it got from experience and so I have to let the the Holy Spirit renew my mind there's no amount of like positive thinking this kind of fix that that's how I'm using it you got it do you sorry I'm only asking so much because I'm really trying to get this idea through I'm just trying to get it can we keep going through it like another example so I was talking about like people not saying this is the case for everybody but even with we talked about like there are some people who turn to same sex relationships because of that's not all of them some of the like that's the thing but it's also right back to the same no no but okay let's but let's take it to things that I'm probably more familiar with I have friends of mine that I said like hey like when I got married it was like having intimacy with my spouse was difficult I'm using this because it's a very sensitive subject and it's not like you can just keep going back to it over and over again to fix it that's why I'm using it so I can understand out the extreme so I can use it in the day-to-day but they were like it's hard for me to be intimate with my spouse because I have such a bad view of sex he's good words on the show but like they have a bad view of sex because of their past history with things they would look at online and so it's like what do you what does it look like to get that into a healthy place it's not like you don't have intimacy with your wife but also like help me here I'm trying to get the I'm trying to learn what it looks like to re-associate in a healthy way especially in a situation like this it's not like you just want to you know go sleep around all the time to go figure that out what's the main question like what's the main thing you're trying to get of like is it how re-association works or basically like how do you get that yeah how do you get healthy re-association again to make sure you're associating with the right thing because I there's more basic day-to-day examples that I struggle with with basic associations but I think that is I think that's the main question re-association usually is a reprinting yeah um so associative learning would would sort of fall under more classical classical conditioning type type but but bigger than classical conditioning because classical conditioning is behavior associative learning is more like meaning and what is it it's bigger than that it has identity inside of it and so you reprint you have to reprint usually associative learning is inputs that are clustered together this means this and that means that and therefore this means that so through associations makes does that make sense yeah so if you if you grew up in an environment where your experience is that um you're trained that evil and intimacy are always put into the same camp then you have a massive association with with two things that are not the same thing so how do we disconnect them is we have to reprint or learning and reprint our association which takes some time associative learning takes a lot of time it's not instant it's like worked out over over time the same way that trauma is worked out over time it's got to be a consistent process because your brain has to take it your brain has to accept it and the first time your brain won't accept it it'll be like that's not sure you're trying to give me go to hell and it's not talking to you like this it's just unpacking files you know I'm saying yeah and so it has to be a a different if then equation has to be installed which is like a new paradigm so how do we get a new paradigm the fastest way to do it is to reorient around something that we know is better even if we don't feel like it's better we know that it's better and we just start to reorient around this so this can happen through the word of God so we can reorient around like what does the Bible say Gotcha so when you if you grew up in a church and you're like evil insects are the same thing and you're like well you don't believe the Bible no I do believe the Bible no you don't believe the Bible why do well okay why would God tell you to do something that's evil oh he never does he never does well obviously he did he said be fruitful and multiply how do you think multiplication happens oh yeah awesome now you've got to reprint so like one of these things cannot be true if the other thing is true you know people do this with money all of the time we're like the only money is evil Jesus said it Jesus said you can't get to heaven if you have money really where did he say that and so you start unpacking the scripture no he said that the love or the compulsive desire for money that outbreaks your desire for God is evil but then did God ever punish his people when they did the wrong thing by just throwing wealth on them no in fact it was a command it was like you will you will be blessed so does God give you the this God give you the gift of evil no well Deuteronomy a says that I've God's given you the ability to create wealth so you start using the word of God to sort of like chisel out like yeah this is a bad association got it it was it was downloaded into me and now I have to read downloads something different that is awesome yes to seek seeking truth through right the paradigm yeah that's awesome thank you every time that makes sense strongholds happen through a neuropsychologically what they call top-down regulation I'm gonna try to explain what a stronghold is scientifically I'm gonna do my best all right to do it so you have this part of the brain that is in charge of what they call executive functions so it's like the higher level thinking logic the logic centers of the brain when when you're feeling panicked and fear that's not logical logical is usually where you can have a a bit of like metacognition which is like you're observing your own thoughts you're not just like living inside of life you're kind of observing a movie and deciding what it means so it's a it's a slightly disassociated view not full disassociation but enough to get away from yourself and go like what's happening in my brain this is metacognition does that make sense this is only possible with the prefrontal cortex being online and having the capacity to kind of separate your instincts from your observation and comparing them this is how we deduce what is right and wrong this is how discernment works this is a lot of stuff they got tells us to do that require the prefrontal cortex you got to have it on well when something happens that is painful or traumatic or threatening or overwhelming the prefrontal cortex will actually go offline and so it'll sort of take a backseat because it thinks that if your body does not have the instinctive synapses that are fast enough to keep you out of danger it'll actually keep it'll get you killed so like memory for example when memory retrieval happens so like when something happens to you and it triggers an instinct that memory retrieval process happens way faster than conscious thought happens this is an example of something bypassing the prefrontal cortex just to keep you alive so when you're playing when you're playing pickleball or when you're like doing when you're in flow like kind of sport or something you know your reflexes are faster than you're thinking us oh yeah you can't be like the balls coming at me yeah analyze it you're just gonna lose every time you practice so much that your instincts take over during game hundred percent yeah in the same way a stronghold is when we have practiced something we don't want so many times that our instincts are now overriding our logic and consciousness okay we have we have showed up to a dress rehearsal and we have rehearsed something that God didn't say so many times that now we can't even use our prefrontal cortex or our knowledge centers or our consciousness to not play out the part that is incorrect we can't override it what does that sound like to you in everyday life like where do you where do you hear addiction works this way it's like addiction was like you just are compelted that you can't get yourself out of it when you um feel like you're a failure or insignificant and so you begin to make decisions that are just miscalculations um you just ask how this is every day that's what I mean like what does it sound like when it comes from that person what are their words sound like how do they talk what is that that builds the strongholds what thoughts are they thinking yeah what thoughts are they thinking in their head let's keep going through it and we'll we'll get to that I want to keep like talking about the loop yep just to see how it's it's created uh-huh when when you train or rehearse or practice all of the time so a stronghold is built this is how the thoughts are starting to create a stronghold is built when something means something that is corrupted it's been corrupted it it's a miscalculation or a you know we talk about misattribution the wrong lessons all this stuff we don't deal with it and so our body takes it in process it uh processes it as instincts or instant memory we'll talk about how it gets corrupted in just a second right but then whenever the situation happens again our prefrontal cortex shuts down and our body takes over and the problem is you're not talking in the middle of this you're only trying to you're catching it after um this is why you don't catch yourself in the middle of fear of spirals you only catch it after uh because your brain is not actually executively controlling it yeah and so you have shame afterwards you're like why do I keep doing this so let's pause on I don't do the things I want to do I do the things I don't want to do you start about bondage it's like a uh a loop there's an autonomic like shift that takes over and then you catch it after the fact and you're pissed after the fact yep and when this happens enough times your brain starts to just assume that this is how it's going to be which strengthens it so now you're using the prophetic sequences inside of the human mouth and inside of the thought capacity you're now just expecting life to happen a certain way and energy responds to your expectations it doesn't matter what you think it does I don't care if you like we can't find this in the bible it's literally science you cut it open you look at all of the things and life is responding to expectations all the time and matter of fact it is in the bible because that's called faith faith is when you impose an expectation over something and it collapses everything outside of that expectation now we're in the realm of like quantum mechanics but your faith is not automatically positive because if you have faith for a bad outcome this is going to create the bad outcome it'll it'll collapse every other outcome except for the bad outcome and this is where bondage comes into play and strongholds come into play people with strongholds have an extraordinary amount of faith deployed against the wrong assignment the wrong outcome because they wake up in the morning worried about it they go to bed at night worried about it never once have they pictured and visualized and expected the right outcome but they have thousands of dress rehearsals for the wrong outcome like they can see it in color they can see it in black and white they can see it from the left angle from the right angle you can see it from all angles and so you are expecting that thing to happen while complaining in prayer that God will protect you from it and I was like yo you're using faith to override what I would do and create your own manufactured state of failure suffering pain etc with me uh-huh these things can stack up and stack together think about think about like you know hot wheels cars that kids play with and you know you can buy these like little roads uh-huh and then you can like put a hot wheels car on it and it just goes from one side to the other that's all I did my whole grown up but then you grow up and what do you have you bigger ones that have more roads and loops and I think you get bigger ones and bigger ones and bigger ones similarly our mental expectations can stack and cluster together to create these schemas uh-huh or these heuristics that then are wide and so it's not just when you are standing up in front of people to speak and the last time you stood in front of people to speak it wasn't good it's a now you're afraid to stand in front of people to speak it's now clustering around every time you interact with the human it's clustering up to bring over like every time you meet somebody brand new it's clustering around every time you go out of your house and so now we have these eye and strongholds that are like cities built in the minds that are telling us before we have a chance to even think about them hey hey hey hey physiologically release stress get the heart rate up make the person's respiratory rate go up and shut down their prefrontal cortex because they might have to run and you can imagine the bondage that can come with somebody's triggered by everything and they don't even really have to experience the trigger mental schemas will absorb other mental schemas and so if you've been hurt by something in the past and you've rehearsed it and then one day accidentally right after you rehearse that thing because you're worried about it you experience something different now emotional pairing happens and you've sort of grouped two things together that don't belong together and now it's not just one trigger it's two triggers then three triggers then dude if you're the devil you're not even trying to get somebody into pornography anymore you just want to make them self-destruct in one area and you know that as soon as they're weak here now they're just going to be weak everywhere if you just let the mind do its thing okay uh-huh these are called in psychology we'll call them like interpretive models or like how you understand the world this is two people can go through the same thing and both experience totally different outcomes like one person can go through a bitter divorce and another person goes through a bitter divorce and they both respond differently because they they interpret it different and therefore their whole lives are different after that so a schema typically a schema is like how you sort of it's like a template for how you understand something and this is super super it's pretty meta but we have to think about them and and go through some like meta cognition and ideally you do this with the Holy Spirit because he can literally be like yep you have a you have an association here and you're like what no I don't yeah you do it it was here and let's go pull it out of the filing cabinet and let's change the meaning of that and it's like this is why the Holy Spirit will renew your mind wow and you don't have to actually do anything you just ask him to renew your mind but a schema has it's it's it's it's it's it's basically information organized around different meanings so what does it mean to fail for you in uh just in general um I know you're going with this so uh for me what it means to fail is that I tried and it didn't work okay but past seasons it means I'm a failure great and I still struggle with that now so we're but we're getting better yep as we think through them yep now what does it mean for something to be a restaurant means that it has food and there's probably a way staff and tables and you're not gonna have to make your own food okay great this helmet to scheme is work like as you think about them you realize how many things are associated with the restaurant because at first you said it's just they have food well then that's not enough and you know that so you're going and you'd be amazed at like how a mental schema can save the brain so much energy because it's just like an information template yeah what does it mean to be a bank what does it mean to be a house what does it mean to be a restaurant those same mental schemas when they are applied to identity level things or situational things you have a problem because then those mental schemas turn to what's called mental heuristics so we use mental schemas to define what something is we use mental heuristics to know what to do with them this book is gonna be so good because it's chapter one bro oh my gosh dude this is amazing so like you use a mental schema to decide what to do it's not just to know what something is that's important the brain has to do that but we have to use what it is to know what to do with it so if something is a restaurant we know that we can go and we can eat food the problem is very significant when we have a mental schema for failure they just includes being a failure or failing at anything or not learning or something shame based and now we have a heuristic kicking in that says the safest way to avoid failures to not try that's a heuristic it's a shortcut to making a decision so schemas they organize this information they also have a tremendous amount of selectivity which means that a mental schema will turn off attention like when you think of a restaurant you don't think about elephants no so it's turning off like it's not allowing certain things in when you think of a zoo you probably don't think of a massage table but if you unpack a zoo in its entirety and you go through all of the different associative elements anybody who's been through a zoo and had to find a bathroom and use the bathroom it like they might have this plugged into the mental schema of a zoo because it's relevant so schemas have selectivity and if you go through how trauma occurs then you can see where the mind will actually delete relevant pieces of material because a schema has taken over this is called deletion so you remember every negative thing about obeying god but you remember none of the positives because the schema has deleted it now you have a stronghold that's weaponizing a situation makes sense there's a level of abstraction inside of schemas which means that they can they can represent really generic things because the mind is so freaking gangster dude it's like we can talk about a zoo but then we can talk about animals and there's a different schema taking over that that will associate with the zoo and so it's wide and abstract in general and then we have adaptability which is required for survival which means you can modify a schema you can change it and so if we believe something that is factually inaccurate about a zoo because we're a kid someone can teach us and the brain will go and change this reconnect this here and delete that it'll sever connections it'll add new relevant information and so the thing God that we can change our mental schemas because if we couldn't we just be stuck forever yep okay hold on let me text Jamie okay yep good good all right so all of this is regulating like at a wildy rapid pace what we pay attention to it's changing our attention throttles and parameters there's too much data we're capturing from the world we just taught on this in New York it's like it's 11 million bits a second of information we can only process 126 out of 11 million so most of the world we're not captured we're not actually processing we're capturing it's being stored somewhere in the subconscious put into random filing cabinets and when we sleep it sort of tries to organize those so picture if you're like a mail room or a mailhouse you're just getting flooded with mail and you put it into a giant bin and then at night you go into your organize all of it that's what's happening with like we're recording everything but we don't know where it goes inside out yeah it's like inside out we we don't know what to do with it and so but the brain has to go like well there's some stuff we have the process yeah so 126 bits a second we have to process because that's the most important part that keeps us functioning yeah part of how it does that through the reticular activating system is schemas what do things mean what does it mean we don't care what a restaurant is we literally don't care unless we're starving now the react the the RIS goes find us a restaurant that we've eaten we don't need it forget everything about restaurants you don't even see you're driving down the highway and there's a Wendy's you don't even see it you don't even process it unless you're hungry then you see it so these schemas of what do things mean and what's the template for what we need you're you've got a part of your brain it's called the RIS it's kind of in charge of finding like this is what we have to pay attention to and it uses schemas to do that it's really awesome so this is like attentionals salience like attentional capture when you take when you take a schema and you apply the reticular activating system over the top of it all of the different templates and information templates and when you add behavioral reinforcement which is basically how the brain learns so when I did this it burned my hand I touched the stove brain don't touch the stove again and then we don't touch the stove and we're not burned the brain goes got it yes strengthens it literally kind of like every time we don't touch a stove it's kind of like told you so check check check check just get started started started for the rest of our lives it either strengthens or weakens you add the behavioral reinforcement when you add on the identity placement which is because I didn't touch sorry I took off and I was trying to mute myself because I didn't touch the stove and I didn't get burned your identity goes I'm trustworthy in an environment where there are hot stokes this is a drastically stupid simple wide version of it yeah but our brain goes oh that's who I am I avoid this which is a good thing but flip it around and go through like the schema of a successful business what does it mean and if your mental schema for a successful business is somehow been dismorphed or or contorted to like being richer than everyone else and then you take the RAS and you look at everything that could threaten you and jeopardize your ability to be richer than everybody else and then you have behavior that's warping to that and you're just trying to beat everyone else and then you have an identity infusion that comes on the top of that where you feel great because you're richer than your friends now you have a stronghold this one you stack these things together and what the enemy loves to do it doesn't love he's not interested in just giving you a stronghold that kills you he's interested in giving you a stronghold that controls you and then warping your behavior later on oh my gosh make sense this just gave a whole new definition for me of the whole why people say all the time like uh I know you don't love this phrase but like God doesn't call the qualified he called the qualified the cold but it doesn't seem like it's for the same it's we think people we think that God's calling the unqualified but actually in reality they're fighting the right battles and God's looking at the battle that they're fighting and it's the right one and he sees them as qualified and fit to fight because he would rather him be able to have the physical strength he would rather have his own revenge revenge is the lords so he would rather be able to take it physically into his own hand then ours take it into our own hands yeah that is a wild I have so many thoughts but I know we don't have time for that but it's I'm getting reframed on so many things right now this is making a lot of sense pause can you guys take me to the venue today okay awesome here we got you that we don't have to worry about how to get out of this and take myself to there you okay maybe we should have done this as a two part episode but it's okay we'll get through it when the enemy wants to you know like clinch the win when when you have two teams playing an all-star game and it's the fourth quarter and there's time to pick up one example bro NBA like there's there's five seconds left and it's like 127 to 125 that game's not one yet because it's within two points but then the team that has 127 sinks to three pointer the games won you can't you can't catch up five points in five seconds that's a game clincher it's like you've you've sort of outpaced the other team's ability to catch up and fix it or with pickleball yeah same thing yep when the enemy wants to clinch win this stronghold he uses memory to do it which removes our ability to go back and fix the stronghold this is his game-winning shot when I was sitting outside over the summer and talking with Holy Spirit and I think I talked about this with Dr. Hugh and uh Fuzz was looking at a tree that was dead and Holy Spirit was like what makes a thing dead I don't know very meta question I love it when he asked me those questions though because I know I don't know the answer he's gonna eventually have to tell me the answer and I was like they can't eat can't breathe and he said the memory of a thing is the life of a thing the memory is in the blood when a thing dies it is not able to remember what it is and what it's for this is what he's trying to teach me is that death is not just a biological phenomenon or else there would be no such thing as spiritually dead death is when you have the inability to remember even when you study aging telemurism like the body's ability to sort of heal itself they actually forget how to do it it's not just that they lose the capacity they sort of lose the the memory of how to do it the way that they once did it and uh the Holy Spirit said dead to sin means you can't remember it and raised to life means that you remember it and so what you remember determines your outlook and what you do and this is the first time he started teaching me about memory and the dots totally did not connect because I was like wow this is cool I'm like writing it down I'm like what is it there's just pointless information you know like it sometimes God will tell you things and you're like that sounds amazing but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with that and then when I started studying the mind I was like dude memory is God attacks the enemy strongholds on people's memories one of the first things that he goes in and deals with is what people remembering what they don't remember even if you study epigenetics it's like turning on different memories and turning off different memories and which is why you have strongholds that carry through generations that can happen three generations four generations whatever so God is God is interested in restructuring remember the story that I told when I was downtown going to assess steakhouse that we go to at the top of the JW bourbon bourbon steakhouse been a bourbon steakhouse like all 100 times I've never been that's true and so I'm meeting some people downtown and I just forget how to get there and I'm like what's going on over here and I'm in the wrong place I have to pop it into my maps and get there by the JW yes I was building I know wow okay and so I got texted I texted when we get there because I saw the one who tells like babe we got to come down to downtown Nashville we have a once last time we've been here and she was like two months ago a totally couldn't but like for a moment my brain just was not and so whenever my brain starts acting really funky and I've usually notes something spiritually but this one felt God I was like at least for what you doing and he said this is what it's going to feel like and any quoted Isaiah 43 when you forget the shame of your youth so you will not be able to remember it anymore you will not remember the FTC you will not remember any of these things to the point where the people around you might but you won't remember what it's like all you will have then he said this the only thing you will have are your journals so he's teaching me about memory again this is all over the summer and this is Isaiah 54 if you're not you will no longer live in shame don't be afraid there's no more disgrace you will no longer remember the shame of your youth and the sorrows of widowhood so God is it not everything is about like just remember what God did for you there's an other side to this that's offensive where it's like God will actually delete certain memories that you have that have reinforced the enemy's power in your mind they've reinforced strongholds Philippians three says this as well Paul's like I just forget everything forget everything that's passed and so there's a memory element the stronghold is a memory weighted loop that's full of shame and it's full of fear and it's when when you study memory the the amygdala doesn't have any time sensitivity so the amygdala is that part that pulls up threats it has no idea whether something is happening right now or whether something has happened in the past all this doing is detecting threats not only in your environment but internally through meaning and how you're you're taking things in and so we'll hit this really quickly and then we'll pray and then we'll wrap it up and then we'll go to go to next week okay yep he hasn't texted me back so I assume he's good um there's two ways that the enemy uses what he knows about the human mind and the human body to mess with our memory the reason I'm tackling this is because we're going to need some holy spirit to deal with it so we have to understand it is hopeless without the holy spirit you can go through trauma counseling and but it's never going to fix 100% of it it's it's going to get you to like 95% and you're you're still going to have to have some spiritual component but the first way that that memory can be corrupted is is when the the the experiences self is is misstored it doesn't store it with all of the data and so the precision the prefrontal cortex goes online and the precision is gone and it's like you know um if you're if you're in an airplane and you're looking down at a city you can sort of see big landmarks but you don't know where anything is there's no precision in that or if anybody wears like glasses or contacts and you take your glasses off and you just see blobs of light and the stuff you don't really know yeah what's going on in the same way that when the prefrontal cortex goes offline the hippocampus is trying to to like record what's happening in that moment and it can't it doesn't have the precision because the the executive center is offline and so what it does is it's just like well what do I know is here heavy emotion let's store that we don't exactly know what happened we just know that there's a lot of emotion so we're storing that emotion and then what do we see and what do we hear and it's it's got like fractured pieces of memory and so some of the memory isn't even stored we have no idea this is when you have a traumatic experience and the the file is just corrupted like on a on a camera you have this SD card what happens when it it corrupts loses all its memory technically some of it's still there because you can go in and a professional can sometimes restore it restore it yep but you can't get it yep it's in the same way we have the same type of thing like we know that the hardware itself our eyes our ears our body our physiology we know that the memory is there but we can't get it because it's corrupted so something else has to come in and help us restore it make sense the the way that the body likes to store in the brain loves the store is the hippocampus takes it all organizes it all packs it so that it can unpack it and anytime something similar happens it sends that to the cortex so we know like this is what happened last time this happened and it's not a big deal it's freezing colds don't worry about it where a coat great the hippocampus is doing a job we remember the last time we had to wear coats in a big deal until someone we love dies because it was two colds or whatever I'm just making up examples and all of a sudden we have a fractured memory and every time we see this about to get cold we lose our minds we can't pay attention anymore that's the first way the second way is it can be misplaced it's not corrupted it's just not where it should be so when we go through something really difficult and we're struggling with it the the brain can't find what file the memory is located this makes sense so in if you're going through something and it's it breaks you and you can feel it it's like cortisol rushes through your body and it's overwhelming and you just don't have the capacity to contain it sometimes what will happen is the memory will not move appropriately into long-term storage what it will do is it'll sort of get stuck and implicit memory systems and it'll sort of like the the brain will be like we have to keep it but we don't know where to keep it's kind of doing this like what do I do is you get inside out if they're like oh my god what do we do right and it'll put it in a brains them and just sort of stick it there because it doesn't it doesn't know what to do with it or it'll put it in an organ in your body this sounds crazy but this is where like somatic sciences have started to like you can pull memory out of a person's body it's like stored in the wrong place or it's in a sensory cortex which which has like we have no ability to figure out the situation we just know what it feels like and so we're feeling physical pain whenever we see someone well that's not how memory should work right but it's stuck in an sensory cortex somewhere wow make sense yeah all right he's good to go um or or it will it will have a place in the body where it's just like the only way we know how to remember this moment is the way that it made our neck feel so put the energy in the neck and maybe later we'll be able to go find it but we have no time stamp on it and we have no label on it and we have no tagging system for it and so every time you go through this exhausting experience again your neck just hurts and gets out and you can't find it the real stuff if you read some and some of these people are like weights you knew age for me but I study them nonetheless it's like people will put their their brains will just store data in stomach you have stomach ulcers or in a breast you breast cancer or in your throat and especially with people who are like very prophetic a lot of signs of stored in your throat because the enemy is also very specific about where it wants to go that's literally what happened at the event on Friday it was in my the experience that I have with Jesus that was from my throat right huh if the enemy's a strategist he's like where's this person gifted let's stick it there because of that way not only will the body not be able to find it but it will tighten up and constrict whenever there's their in pressure moments so this is something you should pay attention to and pray about like where does my body hurt when I'm feeling stress because it likely has something to do with like sometimes it has something to do with the gifting because we can we can know that there's a personification like there's a real enemy who's seeking through these things all this person's apostolic is supposed to build with their hands and every time they're stressed their hands hurt this person is actually supposed to enable people to be free they're supposed to create freedom for people that feel trapped specifically so the body will store everything in their legs their legs their legs hurt this is a weird stuff this is this is literally the science of strongholds dude you had no idea that's what happened that's no idea while you for context you went through an exercise on Friday and you had people talk to Jesus and ask them to take parts from them that were not supposed to be there basically yeah so memory this is where all the memories of the mind and gets kind of thrown out and the the best thing if you're the enemy is you want to hide it in a place that they can't find it yeah yeah if you can find it you know what you can reroute it yeah you can redo it you can be like no this is what the so what the Bible says and so I'm just going to deal with that specific memory so when the Holy Spirit takes somebody through inner child therapy they're usually going to a place that we did not remember and rewiring the memory so that we can find it and then replace it dude this is so cool right now it's awesome now here's where it goes off the rails because like a lot of people watch this and they don't know Jesus and that's take your time it doesn't matter eventually it'll get to him but we start now like a fork in the road because you can't just try harder to find these things and so to do this appropriately if you can create a system in which the more knowledge somebody gets and the harder they try the tighter they tie the rope around their neck that's the way the enemy does it so trying harder is just going to kill you faster so why Paul says let your nine minds be renewed not don't he doesn't say try harder to find the corrupted memory files he just says let your minds be renewed so you have to have something that comes in and begins to recompile these strongholds because the the identity of a person is not just their memory compilation it's the continuity of what their memory means it's what the past means to you the creates a person's identity and so when you when the Holy Spirit comes in and dissolves a strongholds or he undoes a strongholds what he does is he operates memory first not behavior first he goes into the memory and re-alters it and changes it well he attacks the belief systems of what does the situation actually mean for this person he doesn't just be like here's the list of things you have to do he attacks the root of what your life has meant to you up to this point as we see this actually precision we see a precision surgical precision around Joseph who experienced probably more trauma we don't know what happened to him in prison but we have to assume that that he was corrupted as his memory was corrupted at some point because you don't go through trauma like your brothers trying to kill you and then they sell you and you become a slave so like if you're watching this and your brothers have tried to kill you and then you became a slave messages because I'd like to interview you but most of you haven't you don't have any idea what that's like imagine the trauma this dude felt the people who were supposed to defend me sold me as a slave I was lied about thrown in prison and then forgotten about in prison so he goes from a pit to prison and it's like not what God this is this is what makes Joseph stories so bad is that God told him that he would be something different I think that if God would never have given him the vision it wouldn't have been his painful but when you experience the delta between what you know God told you and what's happening in your real life then your play ball that's where we get stuck yeah so we have a template here what we see after he comes out of that this traumatic relapse and he's in the palace but he still sort of has this like traumatic issue how do we know this because he names his first kid Manasseh which means the Lord has caused me to forget and then his second son is Ephraim so the Lord has caused me to multiply and so before God multiplies you or does anything with your future he'll go dissolve something in your past first he deals structurally with the way that memory is formed he reminds you of who you are and deletes the authority that your memory has to control how you make decisions in your future so if if you take in all the Hebrew of this Joseph is literally saying my firstborn son Manasseh so what is it Manasseh is not just a deletion of memory it's a releasing of memory it's a releasing of a of a memory's ability to tell you what to do essentially so he's basically this goes like God has got us stripped away my memory's ability to tie me down to throw me in a pit to make me respond and then after that it was handles God gave me expansion he didn't give me expansion first and then memory second he gave me the memory deletion first and expansion second makes sense so when when we're dealing with the stronghold for real and we're ready for we're really ready to get through it the best way for us to tackle the stronghold of the mind and the warfare that happens in the mind is is forget about the enemy for a second he doesn't matter he doesn't forget him yeah forget about what you're trying to do and forget about even even what God has told you for a second well life doesn't look like what God wants it's a look like that's by design that's good because what the enemy meant for evil God uses to promote this is why God sometimes allows things to happen and we go holy spirit I need your help to release whatever is in my memory that is causing me to believe that you are not here that I am disqualified we ask specifically for God to come in and reconnect whatever has created corrupted memory in the past and we start there because if you take out the foundation of the strongholds it's the memory and then that stronghold will begin to fall and the way the mind is designed it's good with this the mind is fine with this because the mind can recreate mental schemas in a moment and if you pull at the pollution then you create better mental schemas and mental heuristics and belief systems that's crazy man it's cool huh it's cool but it's also like I can see the for those who are just watching in your living room like I just feel really strongly like a lot of people are about to get things to change that they've never known what the answer is to until now yeah because that memory thing is speaks to what you talked about in the other episode when you were sitting in the parking lot and you were like like who like who's your provider basically and you were like telling Lindsey yeah like God they were provided for us and Lindsey's like are you stupid like did you forget every time that God provided and you didn't like did you forget that and it was like you thought of the wrong memories you forgot the good ones you only remembered the bad ones you literally forgot the good ones but it makes you look psychopathic but it's like that's what's happening in those situations and I'm like man I have to I can see where I do that all the time with shame where I'm just like man like I'll tell Heather sometimes like when I'm really spiraling I'll just be like man I feel like I'm a terrible husband because I remember everything that I messed up and I can't remember a single thing I've ever done right in my life yeah let's spray ready yeah God thank you for your wisdom thank you that you give us wisdom to be able to live the right way and right now we just give you gratitude and thanksgiving before we ask you to do anything we just want to tell you that we're thankful even if you don't we have so much gratitude for where you have put us in life we know that the mark of trust from heaven is when you can trust us to go through difficult situations because you know that we are going to turn back to you and thank you that you trust us thank you that you trust us with this material and that you trust us with our life experiences and you trust us to put us into positions that might feel like prison so that we can be positioned where you want us to be in the future and we take a moment and we give you holy spirit jurisdiction over our mind and over our memory before we ask for anything we we we want to just forgive and release anything or anyone from our past and we can see that Joseph didn't name his son vindication or revenge or justice but he he named his son release and we release anything that we are hanging onto because it makes us feel seen anything that we're hanging onto because it makes us feel significant we release that first we we practice a release so that we let go of anything that might be creating a stronghold or a style of thinking we just release it to you and I pray that you would go back right now and that you would begin to surgically like the great physician surgically begin to correct and purify our memories I pray that you would turn on certain memories that have been dormant for a long time so that we would remember things that you want us to remember for our future and I pray that in the same way that you would go and you would shut down certain memories that are powering certain strongholds we give you jurisdiction over our imagination over our memories over our history over our accolades over our failures over our lessons there's not an area in our heart or our mind that we want to hide from you we can trust you completely to show you everything that is inside and everything that we are and everything that we hope for then I pray that you would show up to people as they are listening to this as they're praying this prayer as they've given you jurisdiction I pray that you would go in and you would begin to take them through the process of causing them to forget causing them to release and causing them to breathe the breath of freedom that comes from knowing that their entire story and their entire book of experiences is being redeemed the Romans 828 says that everything works to good for those who love you and are called according to your purposes and we just choose to believe that we choose to make that our reality and to focus on that and we pray that as we focus on that you would teach us how to clean our thoughts as Paul said to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ we pray that you would give us the capacity to sit in the middle to sit in the middle of what you have promised and what we are experiencing without losing faith and without losing hope we are comfortable with you taking the time that you need to make it right so that we don't have to go back and redo it we don't need anything else except for the presence of Jesus why Jesus said to abide not to stride and we reconnect ourselves to the power source of the vine john 15 there's nothing we can do without you there's nothing we want to do without you and I pray that you would fill people up supernaturally with endurance and with faith and with the energy necessary to follow you to the ends of the earth we love you we thank you thank you for a renewed mind and the name of Jesus amen amen love you guys see you next week
