The ‘Survivor 51’ Merge Extravaganza With Savannah!
1h 39m 5s
The podcast discusses the dynamic shifts in Survivor Season 51, highlighting the impact of a new era with players of varying experience levels. Unlike traditional seasons, this iteration features newer cast members who bring fresh perspectives, resulting in more organic and unpredictable gameplay. The three-tribe format fosters unexpected alliances and relationships, increasing social tension and narrative depth. Key player dynamics include the volatile yet potentially strong bond between Devon and Jelly, whose mutual distrust could either lead to a powerful alliance or a betrayal. Mike Brady's loud, energetic presence makes him a polarizing figure with strong social appeal but a high risk of being targeted. Maggie’s confident, bossy behavior may backfire, though her strategic mind offers a path to survival if she learns to adapt. Kristen stands out as a strong, well-positioned contender due to her awareness, calm demeanor, and ability to remain low-key while building trust. Carter, despite his likability and physical fitness, faces a significant strategy gap and may succeed only if he forms a powerful alliance. Ultimately, the season’s success hinges on relational dynamics and personal growth, with the podcast predicting that the outcome will be driven more by trust and adaptability than pure strategy.
[MUSIC PLAYING] All right, we are back with the Merge Extravaganza. Where we talk, we probably predict everything. I think we are 90% accuracy, Riley, is that, historically, what we've been in these Merge Extravaganza? Like, in how the rest of the season unfolds, if we were 90% accurate, then people should not listen to the rest of the podcast. Like, here's how the season will happen. I think our accuracy-- because then we'd be like, we just be like, well, we know what's going to happen. Or they could just not watch the last six episodes of Survivor. We could just, like, get it all done out here. I don't want to continue watching. Just listen to us once and then it's over. No, I think our accuracy rate is, like, 10%. You think 10? That's pretty high, still. Actually, 25. Actually, 25. OK. We have some, the pod has spoken historians out there. Go back to our Merge Extravaganza's, compare what actually happened in the show and let us know percentage wise how accurate we are. Just give us, like, a ballparkish figure. Because I'm sure there's things that are hard to quantify. I'm very excited for our guest today. Some say she is the funniest winner of all time to ever play Survivor. Winner of season 49, also Superstar of season 50. Savannah, what's up? You're using the Superstar label very generously here. But what's up, guys? Happy to join the crew. And I'm excited to bring those numbers up. We're going to go even higher accuracy. 93% is, I think, my prediction for the accuracy for this. Hell yes, dude. That's what I'm talking about. Savannah was either calling you a Superstar or loser for season 50. So I opted to keep it positive out here. Offline, you can call me loser as much as you want. Honestly, I've been talking a lot worse, especially by people in the Survivor fandom. So I can take it. Yeah. Well, those aren't our fans. You'll get nothing but love here from the podcast spoken. And looks like we're getting a classic merge, historic merge, like revolutionary in that it's exactly what they've done for 20 years before they changed it. [LAUGHTER] But we are excited. Before we get into the merge predictions, how things will shake out based off of what relationships we've seen, how are you like in season 51 and the open era so far? Is it open era? I say era, everyone's like, it's era, whatever. We understand each other. Yeah, this is your podcast. This is your show. You call it whatever the hell you want. You're the boss here. OK. I'll call it aired though. OK. I love it. Do you think it's different? I love it. You know, I do think it's different. And it's really interesting how just minor tweaks and minor changes that might not seem like a big deal on paper. I think actually change the way that the players interact with each other. I think also it starts with the cast, right? And I don't think that this is really like a typical cast, not just because there's more people. But when you look at the people who are making up the cast, I think historically in maybe the open era, you see a lot of the super fans, a lot of people who grew up watching the game. I'm one of those people. So I love those people. But at the same time, we're watching season 51 right now. And you can tell some of these people have minimal-- so basically no experience with survivor. I feel like maybe some of their decisions aren't the smartest. But I do think that creates a more interesting type of gameplay, if that makes sense. Yeah, I think we've-- throughout our new era coverage, we have talked about needing the person who's learning on the fly, who doesn't have an idea of-- And you catch little glimmers of that when they're like, I'm the first person that's ever done this. It's like, no, you're like the seventh person that's ever done this. But that's good news for us because you didn't see any of those seasons. So I do like that. Also, there's a guy's like Carter, who I think last episode might have discovered he's actually on survivor. I don't know for sure. I mean, you look at a player like Carter, and he's actually one of the people coming into the season. I'll be honest, I'm like, I'm not going to like this guy. People are calling him JT2.0. I don't see it at all. They're just both like, you know, farmer vibes. But I think almost his-- we'll call it purity to the game. You're seeing someone who's very green, in a sense, right? And I think that really does make for a really interesting character, especially when you're surrounded by other people who might be super fans in the game, or other people who are learning on the fly. At its core, survivor really is a social game. And as we get more super fans on the show, again, it can be fun. But then it turns into almost like too much strategy. And my favorite version of survivor is a version of survivor that has the social game, the strategy game, and the physical game. And it's not overruled by one or the other. Yeah, it kind of professionalizes the feel of the game when it's all super fans. And we get that with returning seasons. If you want a professional, like everybody's thought out their strategy and is, for the most part, trying to think out their strategy and being strategic mostly, the returning seasons will do that for us. We don't need these new-- we need these new seasons. We want people to learn. We want to see them learn from their mistakes as they go through. Anything else from this new era that you enjoy over? Yeah. I mean, even just thinking about the tribe makeups, like starting off, I feel like all on one beach. So everybody gets a little taste of one another, and then splitting off into the two tribes. And then you have Louis Alff on his own who joins the losing tribe eventually when they get rid of someone. I thought that was such a fun way to start the game. You get to see a web of other relationships that we're now seeing come into play with the helicopter alliance. But also, I think having those larger tribes in the first place-- and you guys have probably talked about this at Nausea before on the pod-- but seeing how the larger tribes really give the players room to play versus-- you know, we just saw that the travel council was freaking three people. Like, I don't know, I don't want to be a hater. But they don't really have a lot of room to play, right? Yeah. It sucks. It works completely aligned. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And it's like-- and they kind of hit it from us. And then they didn't hide it from us. Like, tribal council came around and they're like, just kidding. It's a worry. And you're like, oh, well, you did a pretty good job of hiding it from us. But it doesn't hide it from the players. Like, the writing was on the wall. I knew there was nothing you could do. They're too new there with each other. Yeah, I agree. And I think the two tribes was so refreshing. I'm excited to get to this merge and see how it all shakes out. And is there a part of you? Because we do get a lot of-- I mean, there's a lot of negative discourse about the three tribes. Is there anything positive? Because we go into the merge. There are now a little, some cross-contamination with different relationships in the tribes. Is that going to be beneficial to us here? Yeah. I'll say, you know, I do kind of like what you're saying. It does give people the opportunity to develop relationships that wouldn't otherwise meet until the merge. So I do like how the game and the producers are forcing certain castaways to mingle and get to know one another. I also will say, you know, whenever you switch up the tribes, and this doesn't necessarily go from a two to a three tribe, it could just be, you know, mixing up the tribes in general. But folks who are maybe at the bottom of a tribe in episode three, now they're at the merge, and they're fine, you know what I mean. So it really opens things up for some players. And I think that moving to the three tribes, it really emphasizes the amount of luck that it takes to win survivor in today's day and age. You know, I think that's one of the things that's evolved with the game when we were first watching the earlier seasons. Yeah, of course, luck is always involved. It's some degree, but it feels like the more the game has changed, luck has become a little bit more important over the years. Yeah, I think we should figure out a way to skirt this three tribe thing. I do like the luck, like when you're just like luck of the draw, you know you're dead. You know you're dead for like three days before you are killed. Like I, that's miserable, and that's not fun, and that doesn't make great TV. Right. My thought, and I just barely thought of this, the last podcast we did, was when you go, when a tribe gets up in numbers, if you have to sit two people out, you have to send one of those to the other tribe. Ooh, so that the tribes are always Even-ish in numbers.
So one person sitting out fine, but two people sitting out, that means somebody shorthanded too, so you have to send them one. That's really fascinating. I like the concept behind that. My question would be with the person who goes over to the new tribe, would they be like totally screwed? Like is that essentially sending someone on a little bit of a death sentence? But if you're just going to vote them out, anyways, next, because you wanted them gone, it gives them maybe a little breath of life to go, especially if it's two tribes only, there's wiggle room with the numbers. I'm not saying it's falsive, but it could be something. I think back to my time on Survivor 50, and when I was voted out, we did have, in comparison to some of the tribes we're saying now, we had a larger tribe. There were six people on the tribe, including myself when I was voted out, but I knew I was like 99% sure I was in big trouble. And so I can absolutely see a world where giving some of the opportunity to go anywhere else, and on a tribe that maybe has stronger people who are more likely to win a challenge, and you can kind of like hide under that, that might be a good idea. And you'll get to play the challenge too, because not four people are sitting out from the same tribe, like you are evening it up in that way, and picture this. We do that. And one season, the tribes just keep giving the same person back and forth. They're just like, we don't want them. Oh, we don't want them now. And they just keep sending the same person. Like, that's funny. Come on. Can you imagine being that one person? Oh my God, and you probably feel so demoralized. But the wind feels so good. There you go. Yeah. I mean, it just led itself to some potentially some fun, maybe not. But let's get to this merge here. We've got, yeah, we've got a lot of people left. Let me count one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, accounted 13. Is that correct? That's a good size merge, a good size tribe. Hopefully they don't split it in half for the first elimination, which they blood moon. It might be a blood moon. A blood moon, it's three. I need the first one. No way. I feel like for the first one, they're going to keep it simple. And then they're going to start cutting people fast. There will probably be a few, I think, double eliminations that wouldn't be surprised. Yeah. That's probably has to happen. Let's go through tribe by tribe person by person. We'll go with the existing Savu. It's two people, Devon and Jelly. They just got rid of Ori. Also, Alia from the helicopter alliance is gone as well. And they were part of the original Toka tribe. How are they fairing as they get into this merge? Are they have they've been decimated enough that they're not going to be seen as threats as Devon's boisterous and loud persona going to paint him as a target immediately? What do we got? You know, I think it's always so fascinating to look at the disaster tribe because sometimes even though being on the disaster tribe sucks, if you go into the merge and it's like you and like one other person and you're clearly not in this web of relationships and alliances, I feel like you actually have a decent chance of getting decently far in the game at that point. For, you know, Devon's such an interesting character. I love watching him on the show. I don't know that he's super well liked by the rest of the cast. And I say that again, as someone who is a Devon fan, okay? So that could actually maybe work for him. I thought it was interesting in the last episode. He actually said to Ori, I can protect jelly by being this, you know, this version of myself that does take away some of the heat from her. And I thought that was very first of all self-aware. Like he knows what he's doing. He knows how he's perceived. And it's really going to be interesting to see if he can actually use that as a tool to get further on the game. And I'm hoping that will work really closely with jelly. You know, I feel like they had some talk last episode. If, you know, if they would ever flip on one another, I think there's such a fun partnership though. And I really do hope that they can go the distance because they're just fun to watch. And I love jelly too. I mean, talk about a strong, capable female player. She's had her finger on a pulse of so much that's been going on. She has her idol, only Devon knows about it. So I'm assuming Devon's not going to go off and run his mouth. But jelly before the season even started, she was one of the people just by watching some of those intro videos. I'm like, this girl is that girl. And she's been fun to root for. I'm excited to see what she pulls off during merge. And I think that this is either going to be a story of like these two going very far together or maybe a story of why Devon makes jelly lose or something like that. Yeah. I kind of feel like they're not going to go the distance. They've both already flirted with the idea of getting rid of each other. They've both on camera said to win this game, they will have to separate from the other. Sure. But here's here's where I pushed back on that. I mean, they're we're halfway through the game, right? Yeah. They seem like they're on literally their own little island, but also figuratively too. And I think that based on my own experience playing the game, as you go further in the game with someone who you trust implicitly, we saw them bonding on that day where they had it was just the two of them together. Those relationships only get deeper and stronger and it only becomes more difficult to flip on another person. And here's what I'll say knowing. I feel like I was like so creepy and I watched like a ton of the pregame like press and interviews and stuff like that. But I think Devon is like new to survivor. And so I think that his loyalty will keep him loyal to jelly. Jelly seems like maybe she has a little bit more that that cutthroat in her. You know, you saw that when she brought up her idol at the last episode and everything. So if anyone flips, I do think it would be jelly over Devon. But I don't know. Interesting dynamic. Yeah. Yeah. I can see that. I think I think if they come into power too early, they'll have to maybe go at each other to lessen their threat level. But if they are the decimated tribe. Well, my only concern there is they're going back to their old Toka people, which also has Brady. So if Devon and Brady start Brodying out again and become this power like brosky Brody's, then that could immediately bring Devon back to the driver's seat in a sense. But was Devon ever really in the driver's seat? I know he's no, but he let people think he was. Yeah. The worst the worst thing possible is pretending you're the leader with none of your decisions actually coming none of your choices and none of your votes were accurate. Yeah. Exactly. And that's a weird thing to know. I know. I know. I know. Again, I love watching him. But I wonder if people are going to take him seriously. You know, you can come across as someone who is a leader. But if your your decisions aren't actually coming to fruition, are people actually going to be worried about you and perceive you as a threat, even though on paper, like you do have that physical game, you do have other like, you know, elements that might make up a good survival resume. How far is that really going to get you if you're not respected by the competition? So can you win? Can you win? Then if he's there you go. That's the thing. But then take jelly wins. I would love a jelly win. Okay. You heard it here first. Love a jelly win. Okay. And jelly is she. I mean, do we need to talk more on jelly here? If Devons is getting too out of control with Brody-ing out, I could also see jelly just going with the flow. If everybody just wants to take Devon out, it might be fine for her. I think she will. That being said, I do think jelly is maybe a little bit more light by the cast and by by other people who are out there on the island. I feel like she might have more options so far. And then it'll also be interesting to see what happens when they reunite with Shuranda because I feel like Shuranda is probably one of the best connected people in the entire game right now. And so if they can use Shuranda and Shuranda wants to protect them or work with them at this point, which it seems like the helicopter alliance, at least from what the producers have told us and what the players have told us too, it seems like it's going to be very key and central to this season. Yeah. Yeah. I agree. I think coming back to Shuranda, nobody really feeling like that's a connection or seeing it. Shuranda being really good at masking that stuff as well, but also always being on a different tribe. And then all the connections she's made could be powerful if she decides that Devon and jelly are the direction she wants to go. It might all hinge on her. Let's go to Toka. We've got Kristen who is the lone original Savu on that group. Mike Brady, Carter Tanan and Maggie who were all original Toka's with Devon and jelly and Lewis and Kilby. So Toka, the original Toka is a very large majority going into this merge. Is that going to matter? You know, honestly, if I didn't see the preview for the next episode, I would say, yeah, that matters. But honestly, in that 30-second clip that we saw previewing what's about to happen next Wednesday, it looks like everybody's everybody's had everybody's throw. It's like these people are insane. And I do think that sometimes when you
don't go to tribal council, at least for a while, you almost get this itch to start voting people off. People start annoying you. And you're seeing that already. And I think especially it's happening with players who aren't super fans of the game. They're letting some of those emotional decisions maybe guide who they want voted out of the game versus who might actually be the most beneficial for their games to go home. And as a viewer, I actually really like that because it creates a little bit more drama. And honestly, decisions that aren't always the smartest or usually some of the more entertaining ones to watch. Yeah, I think to your point, like you don't go to tribal council, that group also does not have any reason to trust each other. Like nobody's proven their loyalty enough. Nobody's like had to watch somebody's back. Nobody's had, you haven't seen the lines drawn and they're like, okay, they're definitely here. They're definitely, like, and that makes it very confusing because now you just go off of vibes and personal connection. And that doesn't mean anything because the goal of survivor as a contestant is to vibe out and make personal connections. I remember from my first season that I played, I went to tribal council. I think I went to the fourth tribal council. And so that's three tribal councils, but I didn't have to make any decisions. My first two tribal councils were a very obvious vote. There were two people who started off on a different tribe and they were easy decisions to make. And so by the time we got to merge and I felt like, okay, now we can make some decisions that actually matter and I can start going after people. I was so hungry to do it. And so I'm assuming the players here have got to feel a very similar parallel where maybe in their minds, they're thinking like, all right, just a few more sleeps and then we can get rid of so-and-so. Yeah. Yeah. And then those few more sleeps never come and then the tribes get swapped up and then the merge happens. You're like, fuck, now the person that we don't plan to get is here. And they're definitely going to jump if they got a whiff of anything we're doing because we haven't been treating them, right? Yeah. That's, I mean, that's happened here. You have Mike on this Toka group is just nobody cares to work with him. And also everyone pretty much lets it be known that nobody cares to work with him. Nobody values his opinion. Nobody values his friendship. Nobody values his talents. I feel like I miss something. You think about it though. Do you feel like you miss something? Yes, because I feel like the Mike Haye kind of came out of nowhere when they swapped tribes. Like, maybe he wasn't really well liked on the first original beach, but like, I really have no idea why no one wants to work with this man. To none who, by the way, I really appreciate her. I like her as a character and as a player. But like, it seems like she really doesn't like Mike. And I feel like I may have missed something. I don't know. I think a couple things. Okay. When the tribes swap happened, he put in a huge effort to make sure everyone was on his side by pulling them all aside one by one and letting them, telling them he was with them and really wanted to work with them. Immediately, everybody came together and was like, "Did Mike give you this word for word pitch about being?" And they're like, "Yeah." Immediately, you feel betrayed. Like, if you thought he was with you and then you heard he's making the sales pitch to everybody and also made it to you after you thought you were fine with him, you're like, "Okay, this guy has different ideas." And then you also find out he does that same thing to Kristen, who is not part of the original token. Now, that's another red flag. On top of that, he's hiding what he does for a living. And then you just. Everybody does that though. Everybody does that. But there's a balance between like, because there is a connection in sharing what you do. And if you don't have enough information about the thing you're lying about, then it's too superficial. And there's just a weird superficial thing that comes from some people who aren't quite giving enough information. Okay, that's fair. Do we even know what he's saying his profession is? That's not mentioned yet. Maybe he's saying he's a lawyer and this is the blowback. This is the blowback for saying he's a lawyer. He raised his hand and offered to negotiate and to none was like, "No, you sound trash at negotiation. Let's get Kristen." Right. That's what I'm saying. It feels so personal against him. I don't know. I'm a like fan. I feel like I'm a fan of everybody at this point, so just whatever. Take everything with a grain of salt. But I'm like, I feel like a lot of this. Oh, well, I don't hate anyone, but there's some people I know I would not get along with in real life. But I appreciate what they bring to the show. Okay, good, yeah, good PC answer. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or you want me to tell you? Yeah, list them. Okay. Well, really, honestly, it's just like Brady for me. I feel like we would never really get along. We probably would never get drinks. You know what I mean? But I don't know. I don't know. I actually don't know because I actually think I'd get drinks of them. I think I would also. But I think a couple of things. He's a big fan of survivor. He definitely knows who you are, Savannah. He'd be very, very excited to meet. And I think that he would be. I think he would be a pleasure. I think he'd be very excited, very happy, very upbeat, very optimistic. Well, here's what I'll say. I don't think we would get along. But I like what he brings to the show. And I love his character on the show. And I'll say this. I think we do need more characters like Brady on the show because they provide something that, again, is different from the typical superfan persona that we see all the time. Yeah. He brings this excitement and exuberance and wildness to just to like everything he does. Like doing 10 push-ups with your thumb chopped off to prove that you could stay out there was like, yeah, I don't. You can lose blood doing those push-ups. Okay, let's talk about Brady. That's why I'm like, you can't have it get a drink with Brady. It'd be like getting tea with Brady. Like something more relaxing. That you can actually sit down. It's not a joy with Brady. Yeah. I don't know about getting drinks with them, though. But what if you like just dump the drink in the plant and then. I don't want to drink in. Yeah. I can see that definitely, Ashley. Like, you're going to end up in a fight you didn't want to be in with a whole group of people over the college football. I feel like Brady wind up in a fight and I'll be able to watch. Oh, you're being able to watch? I think you're getting roped in. I think Brady's like, you got my back. Let's go. Go time. Yeah, definitely. Yeah. Yeah. I can see that. Yeah. Let's do tea. We're down for tea. Us four and Brady. Any tea, tea morning tea whenever you want at nine to 10 a.m. is good. That's what we're going to do. How are his chances? You know, I'll be honest, I don't think he's winning. I'll say that. I think that Brady's a good shield for people. I actually do feel like Brady might be one of those people who you could take to the end. And I look at him and his physical game seems like it's very much there. His strategy, I don't know, maybe any more information, but his social game, and I say this is someone who got their social game critiqued a ton. I feel like his social game is also lacking. I feel like, you know, actually it's kind of like what you said. Like maybe he comes along or comes on a little bit too strong for some of the people out there. I think maybe especially maybe the women out there, just such a tiny bit, you know, and I think more of the women might be picking up on that than the men. Maybe that's just, you know, a difference in the types of energies that are out there on the beach, but I don't think he's what on this thing. Who is he beefed with that is left? Certainly, Maggie, Maggie. There's somebody else. Does he get along with tonight? Mike. Yeah. He beefed with Mike. He gets along with Tanon. I think him at the end, Tanon and killby were kind of had like a secret three person. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. But he was kind of mad at killby still about the comment that killby or, yeah, killby made about the controllers or the control unplugged with killby. So he's beefed with him. He has an interesting relationship with Devon. Yes. Yes. As exactly what I was just saying, he kind of sort of beefed with them and then they made up, but it's not clear if that is very stable, I would say. They're definitely willing to go against each other. Yes. Like they showed us that. Yeah. Yeah. I think I think he's going to have his work cut out for him. A is big, big dude, which is always the challenge threats as you come to the merge coupled with his big personality. It's hard to hide. Like we talked about this earlier last podcast about how Ori is about the same size, but Ori never once did I look at him and think like, oh, that dude's like a big scary guy who's going to lose his mind over something, whereas Brady, you're like, okay, Tippy-Toe around Brady, Ori is my rock. And I think that, I think if, I mean, I mean, we'll see you next time on Survivors.
So it doesn't seem like he's toning it down. No. Yeah, I think Brady's probably one of those people where the further you get in the game. I think there's just maybe two types of players. You have players who just become more depleted and exhausted over time. And they have a hard time tapping into that energy. And then I think you get on the other side of the spectrum players who just become more and more unhinged. And I do think Brady might fall into that ladder category. Yeah, we'll be fun for viewers. Maybe I don't know. Yeah, I think I think it probably will be. I think it'll be uncomfortable for some players out there maybe as you're egg-shelling. He's also like a bigger dude like you get depleted with calories quicker because you got more to feed. And so that can take its toll on you quickly as well. So it takes a little bit of extra willpower to to focus on not losing your mind out there under those circumstances. I think he definitely has an uphill battle to win this thing. Like maybe if you got to the end with just the exact right people, but otherwise I think he's too loud, too outspoken in these moments where he's kind of making people feel a little smaller and that can be hard to win their votes when it comes down to it. Let's go to Maggie. Maggie has been having some beef with Brady. I also think like these beef moments with her are moments she could have easily just not let happen, but I'll say up until this past episode. I was like, okay, like Maggie and I'll also say Maggie was one of those people where before the season started. I was like, oh my gosh, this woman is going to be so out of her league like she's going to be there. These people are going to walk all around her. She, even though she's not necessarily in a great position right now with some people who are out there. I think she's doing an incredible job and she's so much stronger and more stoop than I initially gave her credit for. I've really enjoyed watching her navigate situations. If you go back to that moment where she's trying to find the, it was an idol with Brady. Yes, and they're going after that or in everything. And then the way that she went over to the tribe to give killby and Lewis the two extra votes and was like, hey, I'm going to tap into my Godfather's side and tell you exactly what to do with this and tell you who to take out. She has been a really fun person to watch. I worry that, and this is something I think that happens a lot when you have especially a woman who can be more, I'll say the word bossy because I feel like that's a word that's often associated with this behavior. But I can be the same way too. So I see it, but it can come across as making people really uncomfortable and extra annoyed. And I think so even more so when like a woman does it versus a man. And I think age also plays into that as well. I agree. I agree. I can see myself going out and being like, I'm 47. I've lived a life. I know what to do. Here we go. And everybody's like, we don't want to do that. And I was like, well, you got to because I'm 47. It's tough because Maggie is very smart. And I think at the beginning of the game, she was able to do really well socially. Like she knows what she's doing. But I think that her natural instincts to have control might be a little bit too strong for her to go the distance and ultimately win. Yeah, I think there's two moments that stand out to me with her that are similar in vibes. But I think one was fine and one probably heard her game. I think when Brady was ultimately annoyed with how the vote went. I think it was Brady and he went to Maggie. And he's like, let's talk. And she's like, it seems like you're annoyed. We can talk another time. And he's like, no, no, I'm not. I'm fine. And she's like, we'll talk tomorrow. And like totally fine. Probably pissed him off a little bit. But I bet when he slept on it, he understood and was totally cool with it, thought nothing of it. No problem. But then this last episode, you have the three bros growing out on a swing. And they invited a bro out. Sometimes you just have to bro out even if you don't want to. And her just yuck in their yam as they were so proud of this swing they made. Was not the time or the place. Like talk about it in your confessionals after about how stupid it is. But you do need to bro out when the majority of the people that are currently sitting right there are growing. Yeah, absolutely. There's something to be said about being able to assimilate into any social situation. And I mean, like I said earlier, at its core, like survivor really is that social game. And you got to do even if you think it's freaking stupid, like do whatever, you know. Yeah, yoga, pray. Yeah, exactly. And I've been there. Literally, we were forced to do this yoga breath work on the beach. And I'm like, this is so stupid. But here's the thing, multiple people on our tribe thought it was freaking stupid. But we all did it because we wanted to be in that group. We wanted to belong together and create those bonds. And then are you trying to like make eye contact with the people who think it's stupid so that you can also bond with them? You have to be gentle about feeling it out, but it does bond you closer. But you also can't be like, you can't like be like raise a hand. Who thinks this is stupid right now? Because if the majority doesn't think it's stupid, now you're on the outs. Yeah, exactly. If you're like, so Savannah, how was how was that yoga this morning? You're like, I don't know. I was like, yeah, it's soft. It was stupid, right? When we should we just slept in? Yeah, exactly. Yeah, you have to be gentle, Riley, because you never know who's pumped on yoga. There's only two ways to go. The skill, right? For the people who are pumped on it, like the person who let it or whatever, you're like, thank you so much. I love the yoga. That really gave me this big release. Never. That's something you made eye contact with. You're like, so that was a bullshit, right? Exactly. Exactly. So it is measured because you like, you have to go along with the group until you can figure out how the group feels about it. And then you can be a little more outspoken or reject full of whatever group activity people are wanting to force the group to do. Which is always, yeah, like stop doing group things, like just do your thing. Well, how else are you supposed to bond? Present a fun thing, but don't like me like, we need everybody's participation. Like, just be like, I'm going to, yeah, maybe this is my bias to on what I would rather do. But I feel like the rope swing is so much easier to like join in on than the yoga. The yoga is like, I don't know, what are you doing that for? Like 45 minutes in the morning. The rope swing is like, you take one swing on that or two and you're like, this is awesome. You guys are great. And then you're like, I'm going to go off, you know, and do whatever chore I need to do. It takes like two minutes. Well, and then the debriefing, people get into it all weird too. And that gives you the ilk or like makes you uncomfortable and then you feel like a totally different way about a person. And you're just like, oh, I can't look at you the same. I'm a swing. Nobody is somebody jumps on a swing or makes a swing. I've never been like, er, I've been like, maybe I'll try it and be like, ah, that hurt my, that hurt my crutch when I sat on those coconuts. But whatever, cool for you guys. Like, I'm not, I'm not upset at that. Yeah. I think from Maggie to it was an issue of like, she thought they should be fishing or like doing stuff that was like productive. It seems like she thought it was like beneath her a little bit, you know. The bossiness, that's the expose of fishing. Yeah, expose is the bossiness. And then she used that hammock. If she would have caught a 30 pound tuna, it would have been amazing. Yeah. Dude, it's so, it's so refreshing, honest. So at first, like, I think I slept on it because yesterday I was like, man, Maggie's a mess. Like she did. I slept on it and I realized how fun it is to have someone who was like actively doing something you wouldn't expect from someone. No, I don't want to talk to you about the game right now. Go to sleep. No, I don't want to sit on the fun thing and connect with you guys. Gross. Let me grab the one thing that's connecting all of us the hammock and throw it in the water and make it gross. It's so fun. And I'm really, I'm like, actually, she's making me laugh. So maybe she should stay a little longer. She's like the person like I'm, my great grandma's were like this and my, where they just like can't hold still for half a second. They're just like, if I'm not productive, I'm unproductive. And that's like what do they say, the, the something. Yeah. Yes. The idle hands. So she's just like constantly going, going, going, finding stuff to do. And survivor is not the vibe of survivor is almost never that. It's always like on the farm. Yeah. She said she used to be on the farm where there's so much to do. Yeah. So what can she do to win? How can she win? Can she win? She's got to chill out. Honestly, here's the thing. I feel like with time, people forget about stuff. So if you're pissing people off right before the merge, if you tone it down and you're able to lay low and let other people start to annoying and, you know, let them raise their annoyance at threat levels. Then you do pretty good. You can skate by for a little bit at least. So I think her biggest issue right now is maybe self awareness.
I don't know, I don't know, honestly, like I look back at my first season and there's almost like a parallel there, like around this time of my season, I was, I got the mean girl label and I didn't really realize that people were perceiving me a certain way. It was only because I think it was so, um, who told me like, hey, South, like people think you're being mean. And I was like, me, like, no, are you sure? They're the ones that are mean and so if Maggie does have someone in her corner who gives her a heads up, like, hey, dude, like, you got to chill out. You don't need to be the boss, let other people shine and make themselves a bigger target. Then I think she'll, she'll stand a chance, but she's got to have someone to tell her that and, and to raise that, that alarm bell. Yeah, I do think she's going to need someone close enough to her that she's going to listen to. In order to actually have a person close to like Savannah, you had so, but like, does Maggie, like, who would, who could give her that note where it would actually be well received? I don't think she has anyone like that. I mean, Tanon, maybe. No, but here's the thing and I love Tanon, but like, I feel like Tanon is a player who would see Maggie, like, making her target bigger and just like watch and lay low exactly because it then reduces Tanon's threat level. Yeah. I could see someone like jelly coming in. If Maggie was ended up being an advantage for jelly to pull in, I could see jelly being someone who would do that for her. Interesting. Do you think it could be, so I don't think we've gotten, they're on the same tribe right now. Well, I don't think we've gotten a lot of them, these two interacting, and I'm not getting, but do you think it could be Kristen because she's also older woman, super productive obviously knows the island, the survival stuff as well as anyone we've ever seen that could just kind of be like, Hey, like, I could see Kristen doing it after the opposite where like, Kristen's like held all this stuff in like so, so well. Yeah. I think not on the toka, like on the tribes here, I think she's the only Savu with a bunch of toka. I think she's letting the cracks form and just like ducking, but maybe once they get to the merge and Kristen now needs to assemble her alliance, she could this definitely could be her. Yeah. Yeah. What does Kristen need to do moving forward? Oh, go ahead, Riley. Dude. I was going to say, what if it comes from Brady? What if Brady gives the note, Hey, you need to show out? She's not. She's not taking that at all. She and now fence to her, she's like, you're the one that needs to show out. Yeah. And then she'd become more bossy probably. Yeah. She's like, I need to lean into whatever was bugging Brody because everybody else is probably on board. Yeah. No. Kristen is my favorite. I freaking love her. And to be honest, when the cast was released, I looked at Kristen and I thought, oh my gosh, we have an older woman, not that she's older than he means, but compared to the cast, you know, she's older. She's going to be the third boot of the season. And then I watched her video before the season aired and, you know, it's the woman of video where they talk about it themselves. And she said something along the lines of people in my life think I'm abrasive and I am or something like that. And I'm like, yeah, this lady's really going home early like, but dude, I freaking love her. She's so fun and funny and incredibly smart. And I think she has a great poker face. And actually, to be honest, I like her chances right now to go the distance. I think she has a really, really good shot going far. And I mean, like, honestly, I could see her as maybe a winner. Yeah. She's my winner pick right now. Really? Yeah. And she's great watch. My concern was she was going to come in and be very bossy because while the studying, she'd done all the knowledge she has, all that stuff. And she's done a pretty good job at laying low. She does lead when people ask her to and I think that's fine. She just don't want to get forced into being the leader all the time. Yeah. Like that's fair. Can you make this decision? Can you do this for us? But like if all of a sudden they're like, let's just have Kristen bosses around until we get sick of her and then vote her out. And she's been very good at slinking and pulling back when she's no longer asked to be in control. Yes. I think you nailed it on that. And I think it also kind of goes into the same being of she isn't the most anything other than being the most like aware of how to survive on the island. Like I look at her and the tribes with, you know, Brady, for example, who is the most loud who has the biggest spotlight. I don't think she's the most physical. I don't think she's the most well connected, but she is well connected. And so I think that by being almost like in the middle of so many different, does that make sense? I feel like it's put her in a really good position. Yeah. I think so. And I also think the fact that the new Toka never had to go to tribal council. She didn't have to betray any of them. They didn't expose any cracks, but there are lots of cracks. I think that's almost better for her. Yeah. Because she didn't have to pick a side there. So they're all still free agents with her. So yeah, I think she's really well positioned Carter, any chance of harder winning. Oh, you know, I like Carter on a personal level. I just don't know if he has the strategy and the smarts to go the distance. And with that, I just I defer back to the accidental marooning. Was it an accident? It was it. I mean, you don't think there was a producer there saying, Hey, the boat's leaving now. If you want to get on, you got to get on. You don't think the guy with the camera that was filming him. No, I genuinely think he missed the boat. Like, do you think he was pretending to miss the boat? I think it was pretending to miss the boat so that he didn't come and say, I was on the out with my old tribe. And so I wanted to come here. No, I feel like you're giving him too much credit. I could be. But I also feel like I'm going to feel so bad. I feel like there was a there had to have been like, I don't know. But in my mind, I'm there's definitely a camera crew there when he's by himself looking at the orbs. And the boat definitely showed up. And in my mind, the producer or somebody that was standing right there two feet from him was like, the boats here, it's leaving in 30 seconds. And he was like, okay, and then I think he just like was wanting to stay, but not wanting to announce the decision that he was staying. You think the producers were nice enough to say, hey, this is your last chance to get on the boat? Or they saw that as like a funny opportunity. I think they, I still think that they were like, it's leaving. Like for real, it's leaving. Yeah. I'm going to message him and find out I'm going to get the tea. We can get the tea. We'll get the tea. You are going to message him. You can message him. He'll message us. Everybody listens to us. This is. Yeah, you know, I tried to message this going in different direction. Now I tried to message Rob, the one who quit. I had a question about something. He did. He didn't respond to me. So, I don't know. What was your question? It was something about his quit. Yeah. I think it was about his quit. I can't even remember anymore. This is like three weeks ago and I have it's terrible memory. But I say all that to say, I will do the assignment. I'll ask the tough questions. Yeah. I mean, you're a broadcaster by trade. Exactly. Yeah. That's what you do. You got to do it. Uh-huh. You got to remember it was a meta-vac. Not a quit. Yeah. You call it quit. Yes, it is a quit. That's why you didn't respond. You had the wrong Rob. He almost lost the leg. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Yeah. You know, speaking of Rob, that's probably how we can determine whether or not Carter knew that the boat was leaving or not because the producers didn't tell Rob that he couldn't vote for himself during tribal so they can get that on camera. I'm thinking that they wanted to get Carter to go, oh no, the boat. And they just didn't tell him. Yeah. But you know what? They didn't tell him you couldn't vote for yourself. Well, because I don't think he probably told them his plan. He didn't seem like it. And in the original rules, like I said, they send you a rule. A rule book. I'm certain. I've never read the rule book, but I'm certain it says neither has Rob. I'm certain it says you can't vote for yourself. And they usually don't address the rules that are written out for you and sent to you before you go out. They're just like, everybody read the rule book, right? And you're like, yep, I signed it by signed the pay rule book thing. Of course, I read the whole thing. So but if a real genius is interested in going through the rules with the fine tooth comb, I'm sure they could find some loopholes somewhere. I'm sure that Kristen has looked through it. But probably there's also a clause that says that production can adjust accordingly based off of whatever they need to to make the show happen. Okay. So yeah, maybe if you could edit your message to Rob about the medical evacuation instead of quit. He might. Well, Rob kind of scares me not to be honest, not like literal sphere, but like, he's kind of dramatic. And I'm very dramatic. So I don't know if I want to create more drama in the DMs.
Okay. Yeah. Well, we'll just leave it with him. It's in his corner. Yeah. So back to Carter. Oh, yeah. This was a whole like can't get any wind. I think he can win in a Fabio way. Yes. Where he has to get close. Then he has to understand that everybody thinks he's kind of a doofus. And then he wins out to the end or then he like locks in or kicks it in gear or whatever he's got to do. I think that's his route to winning if he if he can win at all that it will be it. Yeah. And here's what I'll say. I do think he is well liked. And I think that when it comes to the physical challenges, I do think he might be in decent shape to do okay in some of these individual communities. What it comes down to I think is the strategy portion. And so again, like I look at my my first season that I did with Rizzo, for example, Rizzo knows more about survivor than me. He's a way better strategist than I am. And having the opportunity to work with someone who understands and looks at the game in a different way than I do, it was a huge asset to me. And while I would love to think I could win survivor all of my own. I don't know that that's necessarily the case for that season. And if Carter finds someone who understands strategy in a way that might be a big asset to him, then and then that person like gets voted out or loses in fire or whatever it is, then yeah, maybe he could pull off a win because he is well liked. Who would that person be? Bruh, I don't know. I think we've seen him make I think we've seen him make like three really good connections so far. It's Brady, Tanon, and then Lewis, too, because they were the two that flipped and moved. And I mean, those are three very different allies to have, I guess. I think Tanon's probably the best strategist there. Although Lewis, I think is also really, really a depth Brady is maybe not as a depth at strategy, but is a good shield for Carter to your point earlier, Savannah. So he's at least good at making some connections. Yeah. Yeah, I kind of like that. They're all different, too. Like he's not going to be able to bring them all together. He's just going to have to jump ship on the ones that are on the failing or losing side as it starts materializing. I feel like Carter is going to get to like, like if they start getting down to seven, six, like it starts whittling way down, there's going to be this, oh, the jury loves him. Everybody just loves Carter. We don't want to sit next to him in the end. And that might be the thing that he falls victim to. I could say that. That definitely could be. Let's talk about Tanon. I love her, too. I know I keep saying that with everybody, but Tanon, I feel like every time she gets the best way to build a alliance is for season 55. My comeback. I didn't have any for season 50 except for Rizzo. Now I'm going to go into my next season with every single person thinking I'm their bestie except for maybe Brady. If he's back, feel like I mean, burdened that bridge. Sorry, Brady. After we have T with Brady, it'll be fine. We need a person to end of the bridge, right? With Tanon, I feel like every confessional she's had it's shown her as very strategic and was a very good finger on the polls. The show hasn't showed a lot of her relationships. I think the biggest relationship it's shown is actually her relationship with Mike, which she hates Mike. So that's a very interesting choice to me, but I actually feel okay about her chances to get far in the game. I like her. I think she's definitely a stronger strategist than we expected her to be. I think some people are recognizing it and starting to gravitate towards her because of it, but she does have this habit of naming names, and I think that that is going to, when that becomes an issue, that's a big issue. The second that you name a name that is not what the majority wants to do, you become the new target. Yeah, I think with her and kind of touching on what she brings to the table, right? That strategy, and looking based on our previous analysis of some of these other players, I really do feel like whoever goes far this season or wins this season, it is going to be very relationally based. When we look at the cast right now, and this is not a knock on anyone, because it's probably like this for a lot of survivor seasons, but I don't know that there's many of the players left that are truly like that total package. I think that if someone gets to the end, it's going to be because they're playing with someone who is bringing something to the table that they are severely missing, just because, I don't know, it's hard to be the total package, right? So yeah, like every day in my life, I wake up and like, "God damn it, this is so hard." But that's why the three of you guys are together, right? Everybody brings something to the table. Correct. Riley and I have no technical skills in editing whatsoever. We would be helpless that, Ashley. We'd be like, "Ashley, we recorded seven really an hours of content, but we don't know what or how to do anything with it." Yeah. You're right. We are the Trinity. All has one, but also three separate, but similar, and singular, beings. Okay, spiritual. I love it. Jesus. Put that Mormon back on the horse right now. Who's Jesus? Probably me. Okay, who's the Holy Spirit? I guess that's me too. Are you also God? We'll dig a vote later, like I feel like. Yeah. I was just knowing the comments. I was just knowing the comments who is who. Okay, Tanan, what do we get? Everything from her? Ashley, Tanan, go in the distance? I think she's going to go really far. Like you said before, if she continues to name names, I think someone's going to pick up on that. We don't want anybody to pick up on it because she's really good at strategy. She's really good at making those connections, even with the brotes of her tribe. She's connecting with them, which is like, wow, girl, girl. But if someone catches her, like if jelly catches her, if Shuranda catches her, talking a little too much, strategizing a little too much, she's gone. But I think if she just reels it in just a little bit, continues to hide behind her boys, I think she can go really, really far. I don't know about winning yet, just because we haven't been given the chance to get to know her enough. We don't really know too much about all of her strategy, but yeah, I think she can go really, really far. I think we don't actually know her personality that well either. We haven't gotten a lot of background. We haven't gotten a lot of, we've gotten these quips from her that are always very funny or smart, but we have not gotten a huge personality package from her. So that will be interesting to see. And then we'll know, like, are people connecting with her on a personal level? And if so, I think that it will definitely help her. To Dina, we should start with Eric. Eric with an e. >> Yeah, sure, bro. >> Savannah, talking about Eric. >> Winner vibes, no, Eric is, he's an interesting cat. You know, I feel, I actually feel for him, because I feel like he gets a lot of hate on social media. And I feel like he's also a huge super fan. So I'm like, I don't even want to, I want to be like cautious about how I approach, because like, I don't- >> Also, season 55 is coming up. >> Yeah, exactly. >> There's a way you can do this without hurting Eric's feelings. >> Yeah, I think that- >> Okay, I think he's a nice person. And I think that sometimes when you're in a different environment, and you're not with your normal crew, you don't realize that certain parts of your personality can be polarizing or annoying to people. And I think sometimes when people are so excited about certain experiences, they just get a little too enthusiastic for other people's taste. And so I think that's what we're seeing with Eric. I don't see him as the winner of the season. If anything, I feel like he might be someone who you want to play with because no one's going to vote for them at the end to win, if that makes sense. And yeah, that's really my thoughts on Eric. I don't know, I feel bad saying all of that, because he seems like again, such a nice nice guy. And it seems like he's having fun out there, which I love. I just don't know that he's going to win. >> I also think he has a very uphill battle to winning, I think. If I'm out in the game, I believe he's vibing with me. I believe he's gravitating towards me, just personally as a player and similar generation. I think he likes that. He likes talking about music from the 90s. He likes talking about those things. And he's very loyal, I think, to the people that are willing to let him in. And so I think for those two reasons, kind of has this coach quality to him from token chains, where you see people rolling their eyes at him, but if you show him the right amount.
of love, or a little bit more respect than other people are giving him. That goes a really long, long way in his book. And so I do know it has been hard for him to watch this back. I also know he's a lot like he's out there. He is so pumped to be there. All these people are, but he cannot contain himself. He's living in every second is a new moment for him on the show. And I love that for him. And I love that he's doing the most with it out there. But for him to win would have to be this absurd underdog story of overcoming everyone's distaste for him. Yeah. And I think that by now we're halfway to the game. It might be a little too late to do that and pull that off. And if he can, that would be probably the most incredible second half of a game that I've ever seen. And again, I say all of this is someone who also wasn't super well-liked on their season either. So take everything with a grain of salt from me. And you turned out okay. I'm okay. You know that's decent. Depending on who you ask. Okay. Well, we've met you in real life. Yeah. And you seem fine to us. Yeah, I can bake it for a little bit. You're good. Yeah. I mean, someone called you the funniest survivor winner of all time. Yeah. Was that me? It was you. It was you. I can remember that. We are you. I don't know. I mean, it sounds like it was probably both of us, right? It was both of us. It was also our most popular Instagram post ever. No. Was it? Yeah. It was pretty popular. Almost a million impressions. Yeah. Everybody agreed. Everybody agreed. They were just like, finally, people are recognizing what we've seen and are all along. That's why I won. It's the sense of humor. Humor. Yeah. Humor. Sometimes humor can be the best weapon, you know? Yeah, farming. Eric is the one who started the improv thing early in the season, right? He had to see that he can't win. Never mind. He can't win. Like that is like, I would hate the idea of doing yoga, the group setting and the group setting is like a hundred times worse. The fact that Rob jumped in and did that was insane, but also like you are correct. Like, hey, guys, you're my audience for improv. It's like, can I just do yoga? Where's the yoga? Where's the yoga at? Yeah. Yeah. I have to agree. Like getting roped into improv, either as a part of the cast or part of the audience is a no-go. Yeah. Like you can't surprise anybody with improv. That's something that you have to make sure someone pits tickets to go see. Like you have to have like months of advance notice and go to see professionals. Yeah. This is not okay. Ashley, how often do this spontaneous improv happen around you? 0% of the day. Every day. Every day. Like very cruel and unusual treatment from Eric making them do that. I like him a lot, though. I think he, I think he, if he returned, he would do a lot better. I think this is definitely like first time jitters of him. I'm going to connect with everyone. I want to tell you everything I know. I think once he realizes, oh, okay. I should take a break. Maybe I should sit down. You would just take a break a lot better. Yeah. Yeah. And inhale in an exhale once in a while. Yeah. Because he seems sweet. He seems like a really sweet guy. I'm like, just put that into your game and then suddenly people are going to want to make alliances with you. You just talk a little too much right now, my guy. It's okay. Yeah. That's a great point. Tyson, I don't know if you ever experienced this with watching your seasons back, but I know for me, like I would watch and see certain things that I would do or say and then realize, oh, wait, that is not how I thought it was coming across at the time. It's really interesting to have that mirror held up to you in that kind of reality TV way. I knew who I was. You know, you always knew you were that guy. I kind of did. I like, I understand that there is the mirror. Yeah. Your your first season with like all the serious stuff and everything. You knew how that was going to come across. I didn't know how that was going to be edited. I didn't know that they weren't going to show her grading on everybody, but I still stand by that she was very grading and the things that I said were indeed hilarious for the most part. Okay. Yeah. Do you disagree, Riley? I guess thinking about it now actually, it is a little bit of a different situation because it wasn't like there were other people on token teens that were like Tyson, you know, whatever. It was more you're right. That's a little bit different. And I actually believe that it was more so for Sierra. I was saying those things because I was like when she watches this, she's going to be like, oh, I need to make everything less about me all the time and then we'll be good. But I don't think she got that from whatever, even though most of the cast you could tell generally was repelled by her to some degree. You were just trying to help. Yeah, I was. I have a better I have a I exactly. I was doing a service. It comes back to the Trinity. I mean, Jesus himself right here helping one another. Yeah, sometimes it's tough love. I have a business idea for Eric here in kind of a Nathan Fielder vibe where he should force groups to do spontaneous improv in weird situations in public just out of the blue. Like, can you imagine just like watching a spontaneous improv materialized at a Starbucks? Oh my god, who's paying for that? I think we could have any number of backers right now, uh, to get this show off the ground. Like a hidden camera showways. Spontaneous improv. You're not watching. You're not watching spontaneous improv to see how uncomfortable people get when Eric. Okay. Oh, so the business is recording it and then making it a TV show. Yes. Got it. So you say I was like, this sounds terrible for Starbucks. I'm like, I'm walking to my box. Goodbye. No, it's not. I mean, you should be walking past Starbucks. Anyways, but just unless they're a sponsor of the show, reach out Starbucks. We would love to love you. Um, yeah, I think, uh, I think Eric could do something like that, but, uh, yeah, he's he's not winning this thing. I think it's there's very slim chance for him to to win this thing. Uh, unless somebody gives him a real heart to heart that he takes to heart, which I kind of also don't feel like if someone gave him a heart to heart, he would slow down in incapacity. No, absolutely not. I don't think he can. I don't think he can either, which is part of his charm, but also his downfall on survivor. Um, what about, uh, his, his bro, who has, he has bro hugged twice in the opening, he bro hugged him in a actual show, but they've also as the refresh, they've showed the bro hug to episodes. One of our listeners, are they still bros after in little class? I think he'll be one remote back over a little bit. Uh, but they still showed the bro hug even last night or the last episode we saw. And so I'm wondering, yeah, what's kill be also, like burns some people, but I think it was the best move for him. Ultimately, ultimately, like with a little foresight, he had to make that move. Could he have done it better by strong arming someone into coming with them by showing them the two extra votes? Yes, absolutely. I think that would have been better for his future, but where does he lie right now? I love kill be, first of all. Um, and I think honestly for him, his decision to surprise everybody with that extra vote was less about making the right strategic decision and more about making that good TV moment. Um, and like that's not, that's no shade at all. Like I love a TV moment. Um, I worry that kill be's a little too hot right now, though. And his target after that little scheme that was pulled, um, it's bigger than anyone else. It's bigger than Lewis's, even though Lewis's name was the one that had been written down. Um, kill be just looks like a bigger threat. And while I would love to see him go far, I worry that he is going to be one of the early merge boots, um, just because if you go into the merge already with like, you know, that huge bullseye on your back, I don't know how you get to the ends. And he's not a quiet player either. Like he's very loud about what he's doing and he's doing it, you know, almost for the plot sometimes. And again, fun player to watch kind of reminds me of break devins in that way. Um, but do I keep going all the way? I don't, I don't know. Yeah, I can, I can see that. I think, I think one of the red flags for me, if I'm, what, if I'm one of the players here is he went against a group that was showing him loyalty. That was like we that believed in their hearts that he should have stayed true.
to them. And I think like, no, I don't think he should have, but I think they believe that he should have. And I think that that is the distinction. Like, if you, if there's a 2% chance in someone's heart that they were like, ah, we were going to betray him eventually anyways, then getting got first isn't as startling. You're like, ah, well, you know, I was going to get right anyway. As the fact that he got me first, like, I had plans for him down the road. Like, I wasn't going to do it right now. So that's kind of sucks, but also I was going to do it eventually. And I feel like for some reason, especially Eric is like, I would have never done it. The others probably, maybe they're a little more forgiving in the sense that they're like, yeah, we were going to get him next, but I feel like you need that to not create bitter enemies in the game. Yeah, that's true. That's fair. So I think that's where he's going to struggle a little bit is that he's created some bitter enemies already that will be campaigning to target him. And I think if you can get through some of those and and there's bigger threats or other people make themselves bigger threats and stuff, great. But if not, I do believe yet. Like you said, Savannah, he's going to be talked about in the early stages, the merge here. Yeah. I think it really comes down to kill the just either doesn't know how or doesn't want to make himself small. And I think it goes back to being a super fan, which again, I appreciate like leave everything you have out there on the island. But when you leave everything out there on the island and it's like day 13 or 14 of the game, like, you got to, you know, I have some stuff in your reserve down the line. And I just, I worry that he, the move was fun to watch, maybe not the best for his personal game. Yeah. Is it better for him to cozy up to Eric as tight as he can? Or is it better for him to like now or right now? Yeah. Yeah. Like it's the merge to try that pair that relationship. Yeah. For sure. Yeah. If I'm killed, I'm trying to, you know, create bonds with with anyone who won't immediately look at me as like the next target, just because everybody who just saw what he pulled off, even if they're not on the same dinner tribe, like people know what happened. And that's, that's scary, especially that some of the players who maybe haven't been on the same tribe as killby or don't know him like that. I guess there's no need to be naggy. Yeah. He could. Yeah. Absolutely. He could. And actually, that would be really interesting to see if he chooses to do that. Yeah. She told us to and she gave us the things so we felt like obligated. Yeah. That would be interesting. And honestly, if he does that, I would love to see that. Even though I like, I like to see that. I feel like that would kind of risk like, you know, throwing Maggie under the bus to then people that are like, okay, but you still made the move. Like if that gets back to Maggie, now you've just like burned everybody. Yeah. I mean, I think you have to do it measured. Like if you understand that you're being a target, then now, yeah, throw Maggie under the bus for it. Like that's the thing. Like obviously don't come out with that. But if you can feel like things aren't going your direction, you got to get the drive off of you in some capacity. And I also think I can get helps too. Yeah. Because Maggie is already seen as being very bossy and very controlling. So I mean, imagine killby goes to, I don't know, Brady. Maggie literally forced us to do that. You know, it's like these strategic about who you say this to people who already see Maggie in a certain light and that kind of spin on it could be extremely valuable. Yeah. I mean, and you have Lewis there too. So if you and Lewis can concoct a story that's not even fully true. Like you can be like, Maggie told us the entire talka tribe wanted us to do this. And there's six of them over there. Like we had two. Like that's what she said. Like both of them are saying that now that's now the talk is pissed at Maggie because she acted on behalf of them without them knowing. Like that. Like I think I don't think that happens enough in survivor where you get the classic he said, she said with a full blown lie that is really working for the long haul. And I think it could. I don't know why. Because it's scary, scary to lie like on survivor. Like I got to be as honest as I can for as long as I can because eventually I know I'm going to have to lie. But if I get caught out lying too early, now I'm in trouble. But yeah, I would like to see it. Also could kill me come to Eric and be like, let's improv. And then they do an improv thing. And then they get dragged to the end because they are improvving all the time. So everybody's like, well, when against them. But then in the final tribal council, they make the third person there with also improv in front of the jury. So now everyone's disgusted. Then people. That's how Eric wins. He's the king of improv and survivor. Yes. Okay. Yeah. So we got that. Let's go to Lewis. I love Lewis. Another player who is swinging for the fences, making some big moves. And it's funny that he and kill people ended on the same tribe. And they're both the ones who are like kind of unhinged. As far as this chance is to win, you know, it's interesting because Lewis actually is, I think it seems to me very well liked by like everybody out there. And I feel like people want to work with him. I feel like people trust him too, which is it just the accentors are something more. You know, I really do think it's disarming. And to be honest, I think it's a mix of a few things. It's the accent, which makes him very endearing. But also like he's a good looking man. You have noticed. Well, there's science out there. There's literal science. I think that says like people find attractive people more trustworthy sometimes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I don't know. Maybe what's up? He's also very positive and upbeat and like a little bit of optimism and hope when you're out there and think suck is refreshing. And even when he's like down, he's hilarious. I don't know if that's also his accent, but like we saw him get beat up at exile island. Like he's so funny when he's sad. I know. The accent makes everything better, funnier, more endearing. All the positive traits are amplified with the accent. Yeah. Yeah. Ashley, Lewis going to take this thing. Can he? He could. He definitely could. He's a very charming guy. I don't know. He also really likes chaos. And I'm worried if like the two things are going to battle against each other. Am I going to charm the pants off of everybody and get their votes? Or am I going to be a little crazy during tribal? I don't know which one's going to win out with him. It all matters on how he feels next tribal. Yeah. I think it's balancing it well. They'll write now he's not getting blamed for the chaos. He's not. He was a different down four time. Yeah, but he didn't like. He wasn't in everyone's face about it. He like created the chaos. He got killed me to do it. He was like, he was like draw the rocks. Draw the rocks. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's there doing it. Everybody's sitting there on the track. And they were like, I don't mind. I don't mind Lewis, but like I mind killbie. Yeah. The accent. He's just scurting it all, like potted it off on somebody else. I do not think he's getting blamed for the chaos that he is a part of creating. He's got it. So if he gets to the end, he has already like a really great story, having started on exile for three days, which is really I have to imagine to totally brutal as far as like making relationships and stuff that come in a full tribal council after that is actually crazy. I think we're kind of underrating what a hard start to the game that is for him. And then surviving this unbelievable tribal council where his back is against the wall and they're, you know, maybe you can have to draw rocks and whatever else. It's like, okay, like I really see it for him. If he gets to the end, he already has the story to tell. Yeah, I think so. I think people he'll be one of those ones that's like, he's too well-liked. We need to get rid of him. Yeah, I agree. It's going to be a problem. But I do think of all of the like, you know, I know that so many, like so many women have gotten voted out to begin this season. But of the men that are left, I'm left like extremely underwhelmed and having a hard time finding winners of any of them. Lewis is the one I'm probably highest on. I'm like, I could actually see him winning. Most, yeah, I mean, who do you think would be like more likely of a winner? I mean, men than Lewis. I don't know. Honestly, maybe yeah, I was going to say maybe Carter's the only one who I could maybe think of. Yeah. Or let's go to Christian right now and discuss because I forgot about Christian. I forgot about that. Sorry. He also joined the season way after it started, I think, right? Yeah, he just for the first like for just a third barely jumped on. Yeah, he jumped on last week, which is exciting for him. He was willing and saw the writing on the wall with the old Savus. He was very. ready to jump to Lewis and Kilby. He went and pitched and they loved it and it was, I believe, something that was going to come together. And I think him proactively doing that does sun himself up nicely for this merge where he's got Lewis and Kilby that are like, okay, he's ready and willing to work with us a little bit. And so I don't think he's done much. He hasn't had to really show his cards or his loyalties or a just, but I do believe that he had some good foresight in trying to get to Lewis and Kilby in case they went to tribal council again. Yeah, it's so hard to comment on Christian because we just haven't seen a ton of his game. And of course, he's probably doing way more out there than what we're seeing. Like the producers can't show every single move. You don't think he just leaves for the day and then comes back to sleep at night. I mean, like I only was saying maybe he has been on exiled his whole time, but I don't know. I really have no idea where he stands. You could tell me that he is the next to go or that he goes all the way and it's like a final three with zero vote finalist kind of thing. And I would genuinely believe you either side of the spectrum. What about he's the winner? I probably wouldn't believe that. Okay. Why not just because his story's not being told at all. Yeah. And like I don't know how much you guys read into the edit. We try. Even if you're even if you're not reading into the edit, like we know nothing about this person, you know, we have nothing. No idea about how they're perceiving the game about how they're being perceived. I don't think anyone has said a single word about Christian while they've been out there. Have they? And so with with a typical winner, you usually have a little bit more information about them, but it's time you get to merge. So I don't know. I wish we do more because I'd love to give like more feedback and like, you know, a better, you know, analysis and speculation, but I just yeah, I don't know anything. Yeah. I mean, you can ask him on season 55. I will. I will be the first thing I'll bring game actually. I'll DM him before. Okay. Good. Yeah. I gotta get those connections before I get to the beach. Yeah. That way they know you're sincere about making the connection. It's not just for the game. Exactly. Yeah. Smart. Okay. Riley, you you still high on Christian because I know you that the first few episodes you really were loving. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he did have one of my favorite moments of this season so far. It's something I've been waiting for, which is when he holds the dice this this episode to rig the rock draw. Oh, yeah. They're going. I was like brilliant move. Absolutely brilliant. And I think that's going to probably change the survivor going forward where like when tribes are for like at least 53 and beyond when it is like, oh, we're going to draw one of the shots in the dark. It's going to be like put that bag on the ground or like, you know, hold it from the edge or whatever. I already have it. That's just going to be botchy ball. You're just going to put like a stick in the sand from 20 yards away. And then I'm going to throw their shot in the dark. So you would love that because now it becomes skill-based instead of just luck-based. Yeah. Here's what I'll say, Riley. And Tyson, I don't know if you experienced this too, but every single time I've been part of a situation or a tribe or a game, I guess really just two seasons where there's been that kind of element where you choose someone, there's been attempts to rig it. So people have been trying already. Yeah. Yeah. Do you have like any stories here? Like was it like obvious? Someone was trying to rig it. So in my first season, there was one time where we were trying to see who would go on a journey. And Jawan from my first season had like, there are three shells or something like that. And he strategically placed a shell in a place where the person who we didn't want to go would not pull it. So there's an example. In season 50, there was a journey. I think it was episode one or two. And I got to go on it. But I found out afterwards that Aussie, it was a pick and number between one and a hundred and whoever's the closest gets to go. I got the number the closest, but apparently Aussie was supposed to lie about what number it was and rig it in that way. I don't know why he didn't just lie about it, but Christian Hubecki told me that. So that's coming to Christian. But yeah, I've just been trying to rig these for a long time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I do remember the Jawan one. I think they showed that on TV. I don't know that I've ever been in a position like that. I did on House of villains. I recently had I had to draw for teams and I could tell the difference between the two things and chose the team I wanted to be on. That's funny. Yeah, they had a different texture to them. I also on token chains when we had Edge of Extinction there or Exile Island, Exile Island. I was offended because the other tribe, the winning tribe gets to send somebody and they chose Brendan because they thought he was like the toughest dude on the tribe and I was like, fuck you guys dude. Yeah. I'm the toughest guy on this tribe. So that still hurts when I think about it that Jalapal chose Brendan because they thought that that would make our tribe fall apart when in actuality should have been me. Yeah. Well, you showed them all these years later. I sure did. Yeah. He's working for Spotify now. Yeah. Okay. So Ashley, Christian. Yes. So I did like a deep dive into his TikTok and his social media right before the season started. Yeah, because yeah, I was. I'm nosy. And I got the impression that he was going to be like that girl. He was going to be going out there talking that shit, getting like doing twists and chaos and all that stuff. Even his interview, he was talking about how he wanted to be basically the villain of the season. And so I'm just like I'm a little disappointed. And I said this before on the pod, I want like a big brother-esque viewing of the survivors. Like I want to watch everyone's sleep. I want to know everything that they're doing. And I feel like that's the only way we're going to find out more stuff about Christian because they're not giving us nothing. I don't know what this dude's up to. I don't know who he's really talking to hanging out with. I don't know anything about it. So I hope you have some production or something. Yeah. Something happened, man. I'm like, I want more. You know, angry. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, you are angry, because I was going to say we're not angry. We're not angry. We're just disappointed, but we're angry and disappointed. Yeah. I'm. Yeah. Angry and disappointed. Let's go to Riley and Ashley's winner pick. Oh. Oh, she's killing it. Yes. Yeah. Was she your winner pick before the season started or just watching everything? Wow. Preseason winner pick. Why? I just vibrated. They're the most. I feel like those we went so little to go off of the season two because there wasn't press out there. So it was really just those like two minute videos that they cut together. And she just came across with the most chill energy to me. And I was like, I'm not going to overthink this. I'll just think, I'll just pick the person that I vibe with the most. And now like I crush it. Yeah. We will see she'll probably go out like next week or something, but right now I'm riding high. No, I like her a lot. And I actually think what's so interesting that you picked up on her chill energy. I think it's been a huge asset in this particular cast, which is filled with insane people. And it's so interesting because I think for a living, she's like a doctor, like, you know, so she even like, yeah, OB, OB to buy on. Yeah. So I think she's so used to working in these high stress situations that probably being out there on the island is just like, oh, there's just another day. We got some more crazy people, whatever. And I also do feel like she's insulated the best in the different relationships and alliances that they have made out there. Whether it's with that helicopter alliance, whether it's with her original tribe, even just looking at her relationship with Eric. Like, she is the only one besides Hilby that like Eric seems to like latch on to. And I know that, you know, Eric's not really this huge power player at all, but I think that is really interesting to see in the edit that in a game where no one really messes and aligns with Eric, even Shoronda can find that connection. And I don't know. I think her social game is very strong, and I'm excited to see where she goes with it. And I also will say she's very astute on picking up on people's intentions. We saw that in the last episode with the way that she wanted to get Kristin to make a certain decision. And she was like, I'm just not going to say anything because Kristin will, you know, she'll she'll make it for us, make decision for us. And she was right. She was right. And I also, this is an idea for you, Savannah. When you go out on season 55, as you get pulled to talk about things that happened from the past, talk about them like you're going to predict what that that's going to happen. Like I'm not saying that Shoronda did that, but just do it all the time for everything. I knew like based off of what I'm reading on the tribe, I believe that we'll probably win this next challenge just because like just non-stop with Nostradamus of survivors, I think they would get very production would get very annoyed at you very quickly. No, I want to be the puppet master. That's an amazing idea. Yeah, I think it's an amazing idea.
to. Yeah, I like Charanda too. I think she, like you said, she's very insulated. She has connections all over the place. Everyone's coming to her. She's like kind of central to all of these connections, too. If I'm out there, I'm just like, if I can lock in with Charanda and Kristen, I'll just be like, I'll just nap most of the time because you guys seem like you got under control until they betray me and I'd fell very betrayed. Like that's the only thing. I think because of who they are and they're so straightforward, both Charanda and Kristen, I think you kind of get a pass when they betray you super hard because you're like, that's just who they are. They're just like straightforward and just like no shit. You're like, okay, versus somebody who's like a little softer around the edges and then betrays you like that hard. You're like, ow, Eric, we did improv together. Yeah, it hurts a little more. Yeah, so yeah, I think she has that balance of like being able to slit someone's throat without them feeling so devastated that they will withhold their vote for her at the end. I think they would be more than willing to give her their vote. So I think she's definitely a front runner right now. Have we talked about everybody amply? Do we need to talk about anybody else? Anybody have any thoughts on any of the other contestants as we've run through all of them? You know, I'll say this because Riley kind of touched on this earlier, but even though we had so many women leave in the first half of the game, I really do feel optimistic about the women that are left and I don't have a lot of faith in the men that are still in the game and that are here with us. So, I'm always convinced for a soul. Yeah, I agree. I think we're going to see the shift here. Like, this is the classic. Like, maybe it's exaggerated this season because all the women, so many women went home early, but this is where the men start going home. And yeah, that's it. And it's unfortunate. And it's also now when I think about it, like, you get paid more of the longer you last, but historically, like the game is maybe more difficult for women in these early stages based off of the tribe challenges and dynamic. So, yeah, in some ways, it's like just a reflection of society. Is that what we're what it is again? Yeah. Yeah. It's kind of a reflection of society, we're going to hear the glass ceiling, dude. Once you break through, you're like, you're good. Once you break through because, yeah, but then you break through, you become CEO. So Savannah, like, made it to the CEO position. She busted through that glass ceiling, but not without a lot of women getting voted out early and getting paid the minimal amount. Well, I've also been that woman who has voted out early and got paid the minimal amount. So I'm on both sides. Yeah. You are a woman of the people. I am. I'm so relatable. Yeah. Yeah, you are. You have all the experiences so you know what people are going through. Riley, let's have Savannah give us her predictions. I know we already did those last episode, but we did not get Savannah's. So what do you have for us, Riley? I mean, Savannah, let's at least get a winner pick from you. Where have you had a winner pick this season and changed? Yeah, it has changed over time. So initially, my winner pick before the season started was jelly. It was very hot and jelly. Now, honestly, and I promise I'm not trying to copy y'all, but Kristen and Ferranda would be my two other winner picks. I just feel like the two of them are playing the best games right now. And that's yeah, that's that's the evolution of it. But if you had to pick one of them, though, oh my god, you're picking two. You're kind of you're kind of cheating a little. I am. I am. I'm trying to enter my odds, right? Yeah. You know, I'll go with Kristen. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure I'm just going to be pissed on season 55. No, she's my second winner pick. That's good. Okay. Okay. Who's yeah, go ahead. You also give us who do you think will go home next episode? So we made the picks on our recap for this. Maybe we won't tell you this time so that you don't just tell me. No, yeah. That's what I'm known to do, right? It's definitely going to be a man. How big of a man. I know. Maybe here's what I'll say. I'm a little bit worried about Mike because I do think they would be smart to go after a strong man. Mike's a strong guy. And then also he doesn't have a ton of the social connections. It seems like people like want to get rid of him. So I'm not worried for Mike. So yeah, that's where my mind's up. Okay. Tyson and Ashley said. What did you say? Yeah. Tyson and Ashley said Brady. I said, "Tanon." Oh, "Tanon." Really? Okay. All right. I think she might. We kind of talked about some. She might name a name too early and then it kind of gets us back onto her. Yeah. Okay. I also with the Mike pick, I do think that he's very likely to be a target as everyone's like, you know what he was doing on Toki? He was going around promising that he was number ones with everybody wanting to work with him only after he figured out he was on the bottom. And if he does that again at the at the merge, which I could very likely see him doing. That's like the first thing he's going to do. First thing he's going to do. Yeah. Okay. Well, again, we're shooting for 93% chance of all the things we talked about actually happening. And that's it. Thank you, Savannah. So much. I maintain that. Like I've always said, you're the funniest survivor winner of all time. And famously. Yes. And we were so happy to talk with you today. I know that you've got a real job even though you want a million dollars on national TV. So it's hard for you to get on these things. So that means a lot that you made the time for us. Riley and Ashley also, Ashley especially with all the editing and work you do. I know Riley just kind of takes a nap after we record these things. And this become your newest bit. I actually have Riley, you need to make a day in the live video. You probably actually take a nap because I don't you've always maintained that you don't really do any work and you know, I've never had a job. I do actually have a job here at the ringer. Why are you trying to shame me for napping, dude? I only have 20 minutes till I get home from school. Oh, yeah, okay, you for napping. I'm saying lucky you Ashley's got all this work and you just get to like kick your feet up and chill. Okay. So Ashley, thank you so much. Riley also, thank you so much. Ashley will not be with us next week. There's her birthday week. She's going to be out celebrating, which is super exciting, but we will miss her. Yeah. Yeah. I'm also. So I know. Yeah. Oh, so it's Riley. Yeah. Really? Yeah. Tyson, you're looked out. Vote him out. What am I? You wrote it out. Yeah, but based on my personality, like you guys can't, you didn't. Savannah is around the island and be like, I know exactly what you are. You're, you know, Aquarius and you're a person. No, I never want to assume. I don't know. I never want to assume because sometimes the assumption is not a good one. Yeah, people get offended if you just call them random because it's all just made up stuff. No. No, Savannah. This is a big believer. I am. Yeah. Okay. Have your birthday. I don't know. I don't know what it with the. I'm Gemini side is. You're Gemini. Okay. Oh, you can see it. You guys can see that, right? Yeah. Makes sense now. Yeah. I have no idea what it means. I don't need a hole. But we should shut it down before we get too deep into it. So until our next time here at the pod, that'll do. See ya.
