The Suey Awards: Best Revelation | Local Hour

The host reflects on the joyful tradition of football season, emphasizing the ritual of gathering with friends, watching games, and enjoying Miller Lite—calling it a "legendary" experience due to its refreshing nature and perfect fit for hot Miami days. He contrasts this positive energy with a growing tension over media coverage, especially concerning the Miami Hurricanes’ program and player development. A key point of friction arises when Mike Ryan demands exclusive studio time for a high-profile broadcast, creating discomfort and boundaries that the host feels are being crossed. The conversation then turns to college football, focusing on Amir Sears as a rising talent, while questioning whether the media overhypes player potential and underestimates program stability. The host critiques how certain narratives—like the belief that Mario Cristobal has "refurbished" the program—are presented without scrutiny, contrasting this with ongoing skepticism about player development and coaching decisions. Amid the football focus, the episode also includes humorous and personal anecdotes about daily life, such as drink preferences, table manners, and family traditions, reinforcing a blend of sport, humor, and personal connection. Ultimately, the segment highlights both the excitement of football culture and the underlying tensions in media, fandom, and team narratives.

It's one of my favorite times. There's that point in every summer where I start convincing myself I'm going to be normal about football this year. Not as emotional. Not lose myself completely in it. And then the games start. The sprinklers. The smell of grass. The roar of the crowd. The toasting of Miller Lite. Ah, that right there, my friends. That's my favorite part about all of this. Because making football time is great. Making football time a Miller time. That's special. Some of my favorite weekends are built around football. Getting everybody together. Putting the college games on on Saturday. Come back for the NFL on Sunday. Order way too much food. And crack open Miller Lites for me and my friends. That's a perfect weekend for me. And Miller Lite is a beer I reach for every time because it's crisp, refreshing, and easy to drink. Especially when football starts. When it's still somehow down here, 90 degrees in Miami. It's a true American Pilsner that cools the body down. The original light beer since 1975. And just 96 calories and 3.2 carbs. Legendary game days. Start with a Miller Lite. Make game day legendary. Go to MillerLite.com slash Dan to find delivery options near you. Or you can pick up some Miller Lite pretty much anywhere they sell beer. Game time is Miller time. Celebrate responsibly. Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 96 calories and 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces. Zaz, give me some assistance here because I'm not great with boundaries. Yesterday, Tony was talking about how sad college football this week. And yesterday, Mike Ryan starts texting about Amir Sears. And won't shut up about this high school kid here locally. And then today, greets me with the hot breath of, I need the studio for 12 hours today. And I'm like, I can't. What are you talking about? He's like, I need to do Kane's Insight from here. And he brings me this guy, D-Money, who's already here for something that's hours from now. And I can't handle the way Mike Ryan is about Kane's Insight. And his shirt is tucked in. And the hurricane season starting. And Tony was saying that. The college football season was sad this week. And it was about Bill Belichick, 15 to 10, tricking a college kid into jumping off sides. The old veteran. The old legend tricked some kid. It felt abusive, him using his legendary status to do that to some kid from TCU. Miami's already got the toughest strength of schedule in the nation. Their opponents went 3-0. I love the idea of Belichick winning six Super Bowls. Can't do it anymore. Let's go trick college kids. So the previous great Miami player. That everyone was talking about. Malachy. I thought that that's who we were going to be excited about. But Mike is now scouting Columbus, wandering around their weight room, doing weird things around high school kids when I don't like the phrasing of that. But that's what's happening. His hyperventilation around the best player in the country possibly playing both ways for the Hurricanes next season and starting immediately as a true freshman. But when are we going to get a quarterback to play both ways? That's the question. That's not the question. No one's asking that question. That's the question. It's being asked. Look, when it comes to Amir Sears, I'm super excited. I've seen all the highlights. I think he's going to play right away. But I'm not the expert. Luckily, D-Money is here six hours before he's supposed to be. Crunching film. But what do you mean supposed to be? What are you guys doing? You asked me for the studio for 12 hours today, and I said because I'm not good at boundaries. You have to leave. You're not invited. That's a prerequisite. Oddly enough. You cannot be anywhere near this. Yeah, it's quite a situation that we have found ourselves in in regards to you. Thank you for the keys. Please show yourself. Show yourself out. What do you mean in regards to me? What's the problem with me? People don't like you. Yeah, they don't like you. So for the first year, the Hurricane Special Marathon that we do to kick off every Miami Hurricane season, we've done this now three straight years. For the first time ever, it's going to be simulcast here, not just on Official Canes Insights YouTube, but YouTube.com slash at Levitard Show. I mean, we've got this studio space free of charge. Thank you very much, Dan. When? Today, 1 to 6 p.m. Wow. Yeah, right after the show. A little bit of a break as we change crews and we hit the ground running. Five straight hours, no breaks. Incredible guests, and you cannot be one of them. I'm not invited? This is awkward. It's a very awkward situation. I didn't know this. Mike brought it up on Zaslow Show 2.0 yesterday. I was very taken aback. I love you, Dan. You've been so great to me, so gracious with this studio space, but I got to take care of my Canes Insight fan base. Yeah. On this show. They hate you. Why do they hate me? It's not because they hate you. Mike, he doesn't know why they hate him. No, he knows exactly why they hate him. I don't know why they hate him. You haven't been told to your face by Canes fans walking to the stadium over the illustrious three decades you've covered this program, why they hate you? You know. You've had the wanted posters. You know exactly why they hate you. I feel like I should be on to talk about how it is that they've let go of Cam Vaughn and four players since spring practice ended. Cam Vaughn knows what he did. There he is. He knows what he did? It's time to put on a suit and roll out the carpet. Crank up the tube and gather near. It's the best time of the year. So keep your dial right here. It's me and you and me again at the Suey's. The greatest of life's mistakes and best revelations. And so much more. Brought to you by the greatest beer. And every day you're going to go to a website to vote on the sounds that brought you cheer. Because it's the best time of the year. It's me and you. It's me again and it's you. It's me and you and me again. At the Suey's. That kind of thing. It's me and you. At the Suey's. It's me and you. It's me and you. Everybody knows what it means. Greg Cody is not with us today. He's deep into the drink package on a cruise to Key West in Bimini, which, you know, you don't need a boat to get there. He just wants something that floats that doesn't put him behind a wheel so he can drink all day. He is not with us this week. How many drinks do you need to consume in the day for the drink package to feel like, okay, I got my money? Thirteen, but who's counting? I know the number. He's there already. He does it correctly. Earlene has betrayed him. His wife has betrayed him. We now have a photo because a lot of people didn't believe us when we said that he sleeps crisscross applesauce and his wife has betrayed him by taking a photo. I've never heard of anyone sleeping this way, looking this way, and this is just a straight betrayal from his wife. He did not. He's a genie. Thick ankles. He did not want us. He didn't. He yelled at his son and said, you are not to run this, and we told him it's a punishment for not being here during Suey's week, and we got three Sueys today. One of them is best back in my day, but he only did three of them. Like, he said he was going to do them every month, and he's only done three of them, so we're selecting from among three, and it reminds me of the time when I was a child when my dog, a Dachshund, when I was a kid, finished in second place, longest ears contest in the neighborhood, second to a rabbit, and there were only two contestants. Yep, that's a problem. Greg Cody has only three back in my days. Meanwhile, before we get to the Sueys, D-Money is here. Kane's Insight is going to take you on our YouTube channel and, of course, on Kane's Insight. They're going to take you on a wild ride for five straight hours, no commercials, great guests, get you ready for the University of Miami football season, but I don't understand why D-Money is already here. It's 9 o'clock in the morning. You guys aren't starting until 1 o'clock, and that guy, I saw him when I walked. I saw him. I saw him. I saw him when I walked past him, and his teeth are gleaming like they're sparkling because he is just ready for 1 o'clock. I think he's here exactly for this, the hopes that he can get you to notice him and his teeth. How could I not notice him? He came in, and he was glowing because the hurricane season is about to start, and it seems like everyone has forgotten every question that they used to have about Mario Cristobal. Here we go. And this ship is sailing. We're going to help you out. We're going to call him out. We're going to call him out as to why you're not invited to Hurricane 2026. That right there, that's an example. That right there. This is a pep rally. This is all positivity. We are in the tank for the Canes. This is made for Canes fans. And Dan, you are not made for Canes fans. You're not made for Canes fans. You're made for the naysayers. Okay, I'm not saying naysayers. to this hurricane season. Look at him out there. He's glowing. I mean, he looks like television. He really does. He's already gotten into the snacks. He'll fit right in around here. He knows to smile when the camera cuts to him. So that's at 1 o'clock, and they're going to go five straight hours, and they're going to get you ready for college football. He's here also in case you say the name Amir Sears. He will just, like, jettison straight into the studio. Yeah, for those of you who do not know, Columbus has a player who plays both ways, missed the third quarter. But not quarterback. Doesn't play quarterback. Not yet, anyway. Missed the third quarter, most of the third quarter with cramps while they're playing what is supposed to be, you know, one of the best teams in the country, the number one ranked team in the country. Those things can be, you know, wrong in high school. But still, he had three interceptions and two touchdown catches, and he plays both ways. And I can't believe we're talking about anyone other than Malaki. But we are already because, Mario Cristobal has refurbished everything about the program, and it is suddenly stable, and people aren't asking questions about the program. This is what's interesting to me. The Miami Heat, obviously, have earned, I would assume, the benefit of the doubt. And the Miami Heat have some issues with the way the media continues to look for holes on their team when they believe they got everybody they wanted except for, LeBron James. That's obviously a giant except. But the part I wanted to get into with you guys, because it ended up with me arguing and questioning, and I'm assuming that I'm going to be on the side of the audience on this one. When Pat Riley came on South Beach Sessions and said he wanted to be, that they still needed a playmaker, he was doing that because he wanted LeBron to hear it. Of course. But they are saying to me, and I'm disagreeing with this, but they're saying to me, you're sleeping on Pella Larson. And I'm like, hold on a second. You can't be serious that you think that Pella Larson is going to be your end of game guy. Like, Wiggins might be a better answer if you were to tell me that. But they are serious, and they're telling me, you're underestimating, and you're getting forgetful about what Spoh might be able to do with Giannis. That you're forgetful. So I find it interesting that there are no questions about Cristobal, but there are questions. There are questions still about this Heat team, because they think they're playing for a championship this year. I think it's obviously a great point about Giannis, because every time Spoh has gotten his hands on a superstar player, he did actually get them to another level, which includes LeBron. Like, LeBron became a much better player his second year here in Miami than he was the previous eight years of his career. Obviously, Jimmy was a better player once he got here as well. So I think that's an interesting point. I have very high hopes for Pella Larson, and I've liked him anyway, but there aren't a whole lot of examples of a player in Pella Larson's spot, undrafted, you know, at best a role player his first few years in the league, and now the Heat are telling us, hey, you're underestimating this guy as far as a guy who's going to take a massive leap. Not a ton of examples. It's not just that guy, though. It's the combination. It's you're underestimating, Dan, what Spoh can do with Giannis. When I'm asking the questions about Pella, the response is you're underestimating both Wiggins, you're underestimating Wiggins, and you're underestimating what Spoh can create around a player of this caliber who's going to distort all the defenses. I brought that up about Wiggins last week. I feel like I kind of got laughed at, right? Where, like, Wiggins kind of needs to be the guy at the end of games who can get you a shot. Well, but when they're saying Pella Larson's going to be the guy, I believe most of the people listening to this are like, get out of here. Like, stop it. If you're a Heat fan, and you've watched enough of Andrew Wiggins, you're probably more attracted to the unknown of Pella Larson doing that at the end of games than what you can kind of expect with Wiggins. That has a ceiling. I do fear that what I am doing here is that I'm doing this to Pella because he's white. I feel like I'm underestimating the things. I watched a lot of Heat games last year, and he was really good in those Heat games. He's already developed into a useful player. And he will get better, and I think that this is just a subconscious or conscious, conscious bias that I have where I'm saying it can't be Pella Larson at the end of games while I'm being told, hey, Chris Middleton wasn't exactly a playmaker. He was a clutch shot maker, but he was not exactly a playmaker. Chris Middleton had a brilliant career, made it to the national team, was a huge part of a title-winning team. So I think that those are lofty comparisons, but I get them. He has a great nickname, Pella Larson, but it's a little too wordy. Swedish Bounce Mafia. Can I give you a potential nickname for Klay Thompson? How do you feel? How do you feel about Klay Allen? How does he feel about Klay Allen? You're talking about one of the greatest two guards in the history of the game. The player doesn't get to decide. Oh, he's got his opinions when it comes to anything Ray Allen. He's been pretty vocal on that, and he doesn't like the comparisons. He cannot like the comparisons, but the comparisons are what everybody is doing with him. This used to be one of the best two-way players in the game. Draymond Green is not wrong, although I do not know why he would say this, that he is not the player that he was 10 years ago. That goes for him. That goes without saying. He's also not been the same since his injury. That's not up for dispute. Since getting hurt, he cannot play the same way on both sides of the ball. But there is no disputing that when he gets in this uniform, this will be, and only because Ray Allen has been here, it'll be the second best shooter the Miami Heat have ever had in a uniform. And only the second best because Ray Allen played here. And you saw what it is that Ray Allen did. And I'm comparing what I believe, what I believe Klay Thompson will be in this stage. I can't just insert him here after what I saw last year and assume that he's going to be able to recreate Ray Allen because Ray Allen, while the same age, wasn't coming off of this kind of injury. Like, Klay Thompson has not been the same player since he was hurt in the finals. Shot 38% from three last year on a bad team where defenders aren't exactly sagging out or sagging off of him to go double someone else in a Mavericks uniform. That's going to happen this year in Miami. I'd have to assume he shoots. And 38%, by the way, is good. And I would have to assume he's going to be better than that now. I can't assume anything there with age, given what I saw last year specifically from Klay Thompson. He was not good last year. 38% from three is fine. He was not a good basketball player for them last year. He wasn't the same type of player. He wasn't the same type of defensive player, certainly. But that team also wasn't what you anticipated them being. Like, they weren't a competitive team. And when he signed in Dallas, the anticipation was playing with Luka and Kyrie and playing off of those offensive skill sets. Now he gets to play off of Giannis Antetokounmpo. And look, the last three years that he was in Golden State before going to Dallas, he shot 40% from three. And that's coming off of two missed seasons. He had the knee and then the Achilles. And even then, the last four years, he's played no fewer than 69 games in a season. Like, the guy's been relatively healthy. He played 72 and 77 before last year playing 69. And that's in a year where they were just tanking at the end, if you're Dallas. Can he be better defensively than Duncan Robinson was those years on championship contending heat teams? Because I think he would be. I'm telling you that what I'm most grateful for in this conversation, I don't know when exactly it happened. I don't know how exactly it happened. I mean, Allen Iverson was a total icon in that league, shooting 40% from the field. Almost his entire career. I just simply love that the analysis of all of these guys comes now with, this is what the percentage was from three, because everyone is now doing some math with their sports. That is not, I would say that as recently as five or six years ago, that was not a mainstream thing that even shooting percentage from three might as well have been considered an advanced analytic five or six years ago. And now it's just baked into it. The way that they're playing the game where you're, you're looking at what guys like Tim Hardaway do from three. And all you need is a percentage to know what it is that they are from there. Clay has a lot of mitigating factors explaining why he's dipped. But I also think part of it is he doesn't have the same body. He does since he injury to get it back here. Wouldn't you assume? No, let's see. I don't assume a 37. I don't assume that somebody can simply resuscitate that, especially since when people talk about the habits of Clay Thompson, they're not the habits of, of Ray Allen. That's, that's my point. Like we're not talking about recreating something when it comes to Clay's approach to conditioning and basketball. I'm sure he has his feelings there, but he has never been in the same world as Ray Allen. Few athletes are when it comes to taking care of their body and cardio. We mentioned it before last week that I'm pretty sure Dwayne Wade lost years of his career chasing Ray Allen around on screens. And it was a huge part of him getting open and Clay, even though Ray, wasn't the greatest on ball defender either. Clay losing those physical attributes probably is one of the reasons why he's dipped in form. No doubt. There's that point in every summer where I start convincing myself I'm going to be normal about football this year, not as emotional, not lose myself completely in it. And then the game start the sprinklers, the smell of grass, the roar of the crowd, the toasting of Miller light. Ah, that right there, my friends, that's my favorite part about all of this. of this because making football time is great. That's special. Getting everybody together, putting the college games on on Saturday, come back for the NFL on Sunday, order way too much food, and crack open Miller Lights for me and my friends. And Miller Light is a beer I reach for every time because it's crisp, refreshing, and easy to drink, especially when football starts. When it's still somehow down here, 90 degrees in Miami, it's a true American pilsner that cools the body down. The original light beer since 1975 and just 96 calories and 3.2 carbs. Legendary game days start with a Miller Light. Go to MillerLight.com slash Dan to find delivery options near you, or you can pick up some Miller Light pretty much anywhere they sell beer. Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 96 calories and 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces. Dan Levitar. Let's throw it to my boy Jeremy Tashay, who's sidelined right now. Tash money. What you got for me? Jeremy Tashay. Thanks, Jax. This is the Dan Levitar Show. This is Suey Week. It's always a great deal of fun to sort of just remember a whole bunch of things that we had forgotten about over the course of the year. So one of the big categories every year is best revelation. So let's see what we have. It's loaded. It's always loaded. Let's see who surprised us most with something they said. And now the Suey nominees for best revelation. Charles Barkley reveals what happened with his Sergei Bobrovsky clip. First of all, let me explain. Go on. When you're going to do a hit on television, you get to the game early. And I'm on spring break at that time. So I was already into Sergei Vodka before I got to Bobrovsky. Nice. You know, I had already started drinking before the game, Dan. So I was thinking Bobrovsky and Bobocky. Sergei Bobovka? That's exactly right. I was already into vodka already. I'm not going to go to a hockey game and not drink, Dan. Chris Cody puts down grocery store items anywhere he wants. If I have like a can of cream corn and I get a text from my wife, hey, we got the cream corn. You don't need it. That thing's going back on whatever aisle I'm at. Good point. Good point. If it can't be ruined. Wait a minute. If it can't be ruined, it can go anywhere. Wherever I'm at in the store, it's going from the cart right to the nearest shelf. So you're putting a can of cream corn next to the toilet paper and paper towels. It's a gack. That ain't right. Dan Lebitard, restaurant revelation. Mike Schur was actually the one who showed me this the other day. I was unaware until a month ago that you put your credit card in the bill at the top. Okay. Okay. Tell the waiter that that's where you put the credit card. What did you think the little flap was there for? What did you think that little pocket was there for? Listen, listen. There are a thousand things you guys would be surprised that I don't know about. Very simple table manners. John Fanta, fireball revelation. The night I had the most fun, like I drank a whole bottle of fireball the night they beat the Steelers in the wild card COVID game. That's aggressive. Because it was just like watching Roethlisberger on the bench crying was just an amazing experience as a Browns fan. Dave Damaschek. Dave Damaschek will eat a slice of pizza from a stranger's table on mystery crate. If the table nearby leaves a half eaten pizza, I'll get up and take a piece of that pizza to see how it is. I watched my old man do it and I was my mother reacted in such a way. I was like, she must be right about that. That is bad behavior. But as I meditated on it and I matured, I realized he was right. What did they do? Spit on it. Well, we're not going to eat the rest of this pizza. Let's make sure nobody else can eat it either. David Sampson didn't get his son's foreskin in his divorce. Did you keep the foreskin? No. Yeah, that's a thing too. That's a thing. Throw that in the garbage. No, you keep it. It has to get dry after a while, right? Well, so does the umbilical cord. Do you know where your foreskin is then? A hundred percent. I did not get it in the divorce. Send us a photo. So she's got it? Is it in a safety deposit box? It's in the time capsule underneath Marlon's part. David Sampson on being generous. For personal gain. I've paid for something for a person in front of me online when I thought that there was a possibility of a multi-minute delay. Right. And I didn't find the juice worth the squeeze for whatever it was. I've done it at restaurants. I've done it at stores. Really? When someone is out buying. If I've got a huge thing and I'm in a rush. So if I've been instructed by my wife to bring back eggs and to bring back something that we forgot for the kids and I had to go grocery shopping with a list. And then there's. Someone in front of me who's fumbling and bumbling and I've got a kid who needs to eat. That was an example of the time that I would always do that. Where I would buy the groceries. Hey, I'll take care of that. No problem. Yeah. And then it just adds to mine. They take their groceries and they get to leave. Perfect. And did they show appropriate gratitude? Didn't care. I don't do it. I don't do it for the gratitude. I do it for the time. But you want to thank you. I don't. I don't need it. Elle Duncan reveals who her favorite child is. Damn you for making me choose. It's like choosing between my children, which we can all do, by the way, anybody in there that has more than one kid. No, you have a favorite. Go ahead and do it. And then my dad will go next. Go ahead and do it. It's my favorite is my son. Wow. Oh, oh, Greg Cody. Cake up revelation. The life hack is that you can use a cake up more than once. OK, you don't just fill up your cup and then throw away the cake up. I'm pretty sure they're one serving. You definitely do. That is historically. No, no. You guys, that is new levels of cheapness. That's a white team move. If you use the second, if you pour it in. A glass cup, you see what I mean? Naturally, the first use of the cake up is the stronger one. But if you don't mind a mild coffee, you get double the pleasure out of out of a cake up. It's amazing that that is that's trash dog. Greg Cody reveals what turns him on. Greg Cody's algorithm is filled with lions. Yeah, a lion in the wild, man. If it's chasing down an antelope and jumping on an antelope and bringing down an animal twice its size and killing it with a bite to the neck. And in a matter of seconds, turn on whoo. Everyone knows my turn on, turn on, turn on, turn on. Those make me sad. I know it's the wild. That's happened in the wild. Admit that you said it's a turn on. So your algorithm is sexually where are you? What are the terms that we have? Go ahead. Define turn on. Turn on. Go ahead and excites me. What do you feel like? Does blood pump through your body? Yeah, it's exciting to fire you up, Greg. That's what. You should have said it fires me up. It's exciting to see the power and majesty of the king of the jungle in action. Jeremy Tash loves diarrhea. Oh, I love diarrhea. There will be times where all purposefully when I'm feeling like bloated for the span of several days, I will order a meal knowing that it's going to flush me out because I just want to feel better about myself as someone who is very insecure about my body. It feels really good when I don't feel bloated. And so there are times where I. I will purposefully go out of my way to get a meal that I know will give me diarrhea. Jessica Smetana, CD cleaning revelation on Mystery Crate. And you flush it down the toilet. You guys do that when your CDs are scratched? No, no. What? What kind of super white toilets do you have? Yeah, you would like not flush it down all the way. But like there was like a thing me, my sister would do. You like put the CD in the toilet and and flush it. And it was supposed to, like, wash the CD. Zaslow reveals his first video game. I did have something before the original intent. Oh, you didn't? Yeah. Oh, you're older than me. You know about that Texas instrument? Oh, shit. The TI? The calculator? The TI? No, not the calculator. You were playing with calculators? No. Texas instrument TI-99. I had that. That was it. That's a calculator. It's not a calculator. It had a full keyboard. You can't play a game on that. Those are the controllers. And you have the game console right there on the right where you stuck it in. I'm just learning about this. It had a keyboard. I truly don't understand what I'm looking at. That was it. That's a video audience. There it is. TI-99. It looks like a polygraph machine. Dave Damaschek reveals he's a vigorous lovemaker. You may look at me and be surprised to hear this. I happen to be a vigorous lovemaker, so that would never happen to me. Chris Cody sweeping off the table revelation. I've never used Make Love, but I did a few weeks ago try the thing where you sweep off everything from a table and start that way. What? Yeah, it went well. It was a little messy afterwards. Really? I had to pick up everything afterwards. I took it for a walk and it was nice. One sweep? It makes it feel fresh. It's like, oh, it feels dangerous a little bit. Dangerous? I'm stunned by this. Just swiped everything off. I was like, come here, honey. And I just swiped everything off the table and we went in the bedroom, but I still was just like. Wait a minute. Before this. Wait a minute. That's not, that's not. It's just like a little foreplay. Instead of foreplay, I was just like. Our whole kitchen table. Everything gone. But it's not. Wait a minute. I didn't imagine you doing this. I didn't want to imagine you doing this. I'm now imagining you eating this. I'm now imagining you eating a clam pizza while doing it, but that's not the way to do it. Greg Cody, sweating revelation. I'm the kind of guy who doesn't sweat. That's an odd statement. To be honest. I mean, I just don't sweat. That's not possible, Greg. That's how little he's active that he thinks he doesn't sweat. Did you give it up? I did give up sweating. That's nice. Yeah. Just like I gave up cigars. And 40. Right. Zaslow bombarded his neighbor's house to do his radio show. Oh, you're mad. When my neighbor shows up on my house looking for internet, I'm like, this is the worst neighbor ever. Really? I better be really close with you. If you're showing up at my house needing internet. I've done a radio show. My internet went out. I did a radio show at my neighbor's house. That's crazy. You better be close with your neighbor. That neighbor hates you. No, he's my friend. They definitely hate you. How long was your radio show for? Three hours. So you were three hours at your neighbor's house just screaming? Yeah, I'm loud. I'm loud. And was this like the afternoon one? Like what time was his show at? Yeah, it was midday. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Midday. Were they there? No. Wait, hold on. You went to your neighbor's house and you were alone in your neighbor's house just screaming? Yeah. That's crazy. In their bedroom, too. What? Why? Because that was where the better connection was for the internet. Zaslo Costco revelation. I've never been to Costco. What? Are you kidding? What? I've never stepped foot in a Costco. Do you know how wonderful they are? BJ's got it? No, I just told you I've never been. Well, okay, but have you heard reputationally how wonderful the warehouse savings are at Costco? I don't know. Most people like Costco, right? Most people aren't going to say anything bad about excess. It's almost impossible not to like Costco. You do look like a Sam's Club guy. I've had the best time ever. Never been. Zaslo, man of the house revelation. We have a thing in the Zaslo mansion that if you want to be man of the house, step up, man. You want to challenge, you can challenge. And my son, for the first time, decided, all right, I'm going to challenge. Like the Black Panther ceremony? You know what? Really similar to Black Panther. Anybody want to step up and challenge? I'm king of this house. You want to step up, step up, all right? You take me down, that's it, you know? In one, two, three, or just on the floor? Take me down on the ground, yeah. You got to tap out? Essentially, yeah, but it hasn't happened yet, so we'll see. Are outsiders welcome? Like if I wanted your house, could I just show up at your house and take you down? No, no, you're not. You don't then become in charge of my family. You'd have to kill him. So it's not like Black Panther. So my son, sneak attack style, my older one, he's 16, he decides to challenge. Let's just say it didn't go well for him, all right? And as a result. As a result, he could try again in six months. Greg Cody, Uncle Buddy revelation. Right after we moved from Lawrence, Massachusetts, we stayed with Uncle Buddy in South Miami for a few weeks. Hold on a second. I never knew that. Wait, hold on a second. The memory from there is that my mother took a walk from the house in South Miami, and there was a river right nearby. Uh-oh. And she looks down in the river over a little footbridge. What the hell is going on? And she sees dozens of dead cats. Dead cats? And that was an early memory of the Uncle Buddy. Weeks. What happened to them? I have no idea. I didn't kill them. But Uncle Buddy. I didn't think you did. Well, he would show up at the house with a six-pack. Then you could drink and drive. Oh, yeah. What? Yeah, you could drink and drive. That's true. It was like probably the mid-60s by that point, maybe early 60s. He looked this up. And he would show up at the house with a six-pack of. It's Uncle Buddy up to now. He's been dead for years. Oh, no. Yeah. The Zaslows haven't produced a girl in over a century. The Zaslows? The Zaslows have not produced a female in over a hundred years. That sounds insane. That's true. A hundred years? It's true. Yeah. I have an aunt. My Aunt Blanche. We don't make Blanches anymore. A hundred and four years of age. Well, no. She died a while ago, but she was born. You feel good, Dave? She was the last female Zaslow. It's been over. So it's been like around 110 years. Pablo Torre, gum revelation. Are you still a human being who has never chewed gum? What? That's correct. My origin story is that I was like at school one day, like running my hand underneath my desk absentmindedly, you know, and what do you think I felt there, gentlemen? Is it gum? Is it gum, Pablo? It was already been chewed gum and I didn't know it. I'm just like fondling it. And then I look underneath the desk and I'm horrified that I've been touching for the whole time. The gum. Fondling the gum. To be very clear for legal reasons, the gum. And that is a traumatic experience. It's not eating that. Chris Cody, sister-in-law revelation. There are times, you know, in marriage, you're going through, uh, you know, you're, you're like, uh, it's just, you know, this is. I don't like where this is headed. I don't either. I do. Where sometimes you just like, if you're trying to keep things fresh, you just imagine it's the other person. Oh, no, no, no. That's an unbelievable admission. Whoa! No, no, no, no, no. That is. What's the matter with you, man? I didn't hear that. Suey. Guys in the room outside. Mark that down. Suey revelation. For the record, did you guys ever struggle? As one of society's great empaths, did you see me try to get in the way? Did you see me try to dive in front of that? He refused! Your wife clearly does not listen to this show. I mean. Sure doesn't. You've got no worries that this is getting back to her. Let's not clip this if we can. That was an incredible omission. Greg, what did you make of all that? A little bit unfortunate. I wish he hadn't said that. Well, in the context of this show, you can always say I was just kidding. Of course I was just kidding. But will she believe you? I was. You can do your voting at levitardaf.com. Tony, you know that moment at a party or at a tailgate where everything just sorta clicks? I know it well. It's usually when I show up. Everybody goes crazy. Yeah, you usually take all the credit for it, but it's because Tony usually walks in with Cuervo. I walk in like this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cuervo is the thing that turns hanging out into "this is the night." It has that effect on people. It does. You usually take the credit for it. But again, it's the Cuervo effect. It's like that moment in a big game where everyone in the crowd just starts standing up, hooting and hollering, "keep it Cuervo." Keep it Cuervo, baby. Dan Levitar. My algorithm on Instagram is "dance all boobs." Jonathan Sassolo. That's a good algorithm. Please put it on the poll @LevitarShow. Will Heat fans like the nickname "Clay Allen" for Clay Thompson? This is what Clay Thompson told ESPN West Palm about the Ray Allen comparisons, Mike, so I don't know what it is that you think he's objecting to. Quote, "Of course I like those comparisons. I love Ray Allen. Are you kidding me? Sam and Reggie were the blueprint for my whole off-ball formula. It gives me chills I'm even in the same sentences, Ray, because if you told me this my rookie season, I would have never believed you. Ray has one of the greatest shots in history, and I still practice that backpedal drill he did in Game 6 of 2013. I love those comparisons." He's argued with fans online before about Clay comparisons and not doing it on a bad team and being the highest scorer in the NBA Finals. He's gone at people before for the Ray. He's never disrespected Ray, but certainly pounding his chest about his own bona fides. How about this one, Zazz? Dallas Mavs play-by-play guy Chuck Cooperstein says there's lots of talk in Miami about the acquisitions of Clay and Tim Hardaway, but after watching some of the Euro qualifiers this weekend, might want to keep an eye on where Pella Larson fits in all this. Not sure on his shooting, but all he does is draw fouls in a manner that rival how Luka and SGA or Gasp Dwayne Wade do it. Yeah. The most recent Clay Thompson comments on Ray Allen were like from six days ago. He was asked about it because people dug up his interactions with fans before. I think it was more in the context of this stage of his career, because I think what Clay was doing before was, "Hey, look at both of us in our prime and who we were on winning teams," where he looks at his own career right now. He brought it up on his own when it was presented to him at the press conference originally, and he said, like, "I want to get in heat shape. I think it'll be incredible for me." We're so back, Dan. That's what's about. We're back. We're so back. We're talking about Pella Larson that way? Tim Donovan's back, making sure, "Hey, let's clean this up a little bit." We're back, baby. We're so back. You're talking about Pella Larson that way? Come on, folks. Speaking of back. Y'all know how good he is. Where were you yesterday? I was recovering. I was recovering from my first ever weekend in Daytona, and also I'm on the air for 12 hours today, so a little maintenance day. Dan.
