The SAVE Act Showdown, the Left’s Socialist Revolution, and Mamdani’s Netanyahu Threat

The transcript blends a product announcement from Mavily New York with a sharp political commentary by Victor Davis Hanson. The makeup product launch is framed as a simple, effective solution—offering long-lasting hydration without residue—while the political content explores critiques of democratic socialists, particularly their urban concentration, academic backgrounds, and policy outcomes. Hanson argues that these groups, though ideologically driven, lack practical skills and economic viability, leading to inflated housing costs and social instability. He contends that progressive policies such as defunding police and open borders have created real harm, with tragic consequences including deaths and economic collapse. Central to his narrative is the idea that socialist movements begin with radical rhetoric (“Woke One”) and evolve into authoritarian control (“Woke Three”), paralleling historical revolutions. Hanson also analyzes figures like AOC and Mandami, accusing them of hypocrisy and performative activism, while asserting that Trump’s rise represents a counter-revolutionary effort to reverse progressive governance. The discussion ultimately frames political authenticity as critical, warning against performative language and the dangers of ideological extremism when it translates into real-world policy. The commentary is rich in historical references, economic critique, and personal anecdotes, positioning the speaker as a defender of traditional values and skepticism toward modern political movements.

And they are focused in manyapolis, New York, Washington. They like big city on plates and urban areas. And they are a degree. But they go to these schools and they run up a couple hundred thousand dollars a day. Gender studies, race studies, leisure studies, recreation, you name them. They're poorly educated. They take kind of a very strong sense of self. This is so unfair, I'm a socialist now. Well, you may be a socialist now, but you would like to be a capitalist. And you can't be because of your choices that you've made. Hello, and welcome. This is Victor Davis-Hansen in his own words. This is our Friday News Roundup. So we've got a lot on the agenda coming, starting out with the Tuesday primaries and some of the important ones in Wisconsin and Michigan. And then also, AOC is trying to roll back what she calls "wump ones." So we'll have a look at Victor's ideas on that, and the daughters of the American Revolution would really rather not, or at least some of them, have transwomen join their organization. So stay with us for those stories and we'll be right back. Hello, this is Victor Davis-Hansen for the Daily Signal. I have a new book out on September 8th of this year, and I think you're going to enjoy it. It's called "Counter Revolution," the fall and rise of Donald Trump, and the MAGA movement. It starts right after January 6th, and it details the lack of popularity of Donald Trump, the invective that he endured, the five civil and criminal trials, the effort to get him off the ballot, the raid on Marlago. The two impeachments earlier, one in which he was tried as a private citizen, and yet he came back. How did he come back? And why did he come back? I explain in the book how he defeated his primary opponents, how he was outspent. He had a hostile media, and he defeated the Democratic Machine and Camila Harris. It starts on January 6th. It ends pretty much now in May of 2026. What's the title about? Donald Trump is not a revolutionary. He's not a revisionist. He's a counter-revolutionary. This time around, he is not addressing just the symptoms of the progressive project of the last 50 years. He's talking about the causes. Not just an open border, but how to stop illegal immigration entirely. Not just crime, but sending the National Garden to make sure cities are safe. Not just an Iranian nuclear threat, but ending that threat that seven other presidents had identified, but did not act on. Not just addressing the transgender issue or the Green New Deal, and all of those issues that are so dear to the Democratic Party, but ending them, defunding NPR and PBS. So it is a counter-revolution to unwind, and to roll back the entire progressive project of the last 50 years. I think you're going to like it. It's pretty interesting. It chronicles the greatest political comeback in our recent political history. Thank you very much. I'm Victor Davis-Hanson for The Daily Signal. Welcome back. This is Victor Davis-Hanson in his own words. Victor is the Martin E. Anderson Senior Fellow in Military, History, and Classics at The Hoover Institution and The Wayne and Marsha Busky Distinguished Fellow in History at Hillsdale College. And that is two articles a week plus a video that Victor does for his ultra-subscribers. So Victor, there's something that's been bothering me for the last couple of weeks, and it has to do with little story or a hint that L.C.I.E. has scrubbed his social media posts. And what's bothering me is why would he need to scrub them? It tells us that there are things in there that he doesn't want the population to know. But also what's bothering me is that in the 1930s, mid-1930s, there was about 8 million copies of Hitler's Mind Conf that circulated in Germany. So one in ten Germans had the book itself, and all of his ideas in there would come to fruition. Although while he was campaigning to be elected and to build his Nazi base, he talked about the economy all the time, and he said, "Oh, everything was about the economy," and then he just quickly reverted back. So that's why this L.C.I.E. scrubbing his posts of things he doesn't want to see has really been bothering me because there are things there that will come back again. Well, as a general rule, any movement, party, person that identifies with a word "socialist" for whatever people say, "AOC said the difference between communism and socialism and socialist belief in democracy." I don't think so. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Communists don't say the Union of Communists Republics. They're always the Socialist Republic of East Germany or Germany. They never say communism. So it's a communism that scares people. So when you look at any movement that was socialist, it never said they were going to be Communists. Castel said he was a democratic socialist. When he started fighting its Batista, he said he was going to have elections and create a socialist orientated government. He was a Communist. The Jacobins said that they had overthrown the Bourbons and they had a broad coalition. They were constitutional monarch and then they seized power. They decided to create a whole new year-zero socialist, we would call it socialist communism. Not Hitler ran with Hindenburg. The great war hero, I'm not sure he was such a great general, as he said he was, but he was the father of the early 20th century. He had fought and people had said he had been stabbed in the back. They'd created this myth in Hindenburg, Ludendorf would have won. So Hitler ran as his mate. He knew he was in his mid-80s, he was going to die. So as soon as the Reichstag fire, we don't really know the circumstances, who or why it was destroyed. He talked Hindenburg, using Hindenburg to suspend habeas corpus, freedom of speech, and then Hindenburg died. Then he got the Reichstag. He did this constitutionally to vote out their own powers. By 1935, there was no democratic republic in Germany. That's what they do. Now they're trying to disown all of that because people know what they do. They have all these lines. If you're Hassan Piker and you go back to his record that he said we deserve 9/11 or we want people to be blood run in the streets, all of that. Then they say, "Well, that's just three or four things." He said thousands of things. He regrets it, but I've said thousands of things. I've never said that. I've never said that I wanted 3,000 people to be killed. So AOC, remember, she was on television last weekend and she said all of her things that she said during woke one should be forgotten, erased. She wanted to defund the police. She said it wasn't enough to reduce the budget. She should defund it. To the extent that some municipalities almost did, people died. She also went on a rampage about the Amazon regional headquarters that wanted to locate in New York in her district. That would have brought 25,000 jobs and a billion dollars in revenue and she chased them out. That had consequences. She was the one, one of the first socialists who really went on the trends. She was calling for an open to border and the abolition of ICE as well as defunding the police. We had 12 million people came in, 500,000 criminals. People died. People couldn't get social service. That was a disaster. So when I'm getting, I could do this all day long, but what I'm getting at is these socialists wanted media coverage. They wanted to force out the Democratic mainstream and the way to do that was to say these sensational things, which they believed in. And when they got elected, some of them, the squad was socialists. They tried to enact that. Now they're looking at a dilemma. We saw that Fong lost the election in Wisconsin. And I think El Said is going to lose the election. And I think Teller Wico is going to lose the election because Republicans have enough money to show the country what they have said in the past and what they have written. And most people don't write or say those things. Most people don't say that Jesus was non-binary or there's six different genders or nobody should be meeting, meeting in Texas or blaming white Christian Christians. People don't say he says that when he meets his maker, he said that he wants to make sure that he followed Sharia law. Well, if you'll read it and what they do for adultery and things, stoning and all these other things, cutting off a person's hand for shoplifting and things. So they, as they get out of their first stage, what she called Woke One, now they're into Woke Two. Woke Two means you we've announced all the things that will lose you a general election. And that's what they're doing. Woke Three is when they get elected. Then they go from socialist to communist. And we're seen with a mandami. He never said that I'm going to send a letter to 900,000 people and assume you're guilty of being in the way of the people by having two homes. And he said he was going to only go after a million. Now he went up to five million and then he went down to one million and now he's got a mess on his hands. He said he really didn't like the New York in YPD. He said he didn't like it. He wanted to fund it. Now we find out that he wants his Syrian American born, but Syrian ancestry. His wife wants to go on a little jaunt to one of the most dangerous places in the world. Syria and Lebanon and she, mandami wanted three or four cops at New York expense to escort her. And so what they say when they get into power, they're drunk with power and they're autocratic and they're communist and everybody should know that. That's what they're going to do. That's what Mao did. That's what Castro did. That's what Stalin and I should say Lenin did. They liquidate the opposition. That's what Chavez did in Venezuela. But they in America at their first Woke One stage, they've got to get rid of that record. I mean, I'm not being conspiratorial, but she had a boyfriend, a white guy who they were never married, but she was under house audit that she was bringing him to house functions as her spouse, which where he wasn't allowed. And treating him as, so don't you think it's a little bit convenient that just when she's now being mentioned because everybody in the democratic party, normal Democrats or crazy Democrats, look at Kamala Harris and say she's a train wreck. She will take, this is the third time she wants to run for president. She will just, she can't win. Or they look at Gavin Newsom and they said, everybody's on to that con artist. He'll do America what he did to California. So they're looking at ALC. And so now she's playing up her act. She's saying she's more moderate. She's racing or disowning the thing she said. And she discarded this kind of conventional looking white boyfriend that she was living with because you don't elect a mainstream president who's living with somebody. And not when you're a part of the squad and you talk about people of color and what white privilege, white privilege that, and you have this sort of unimpressive white boyfriend. So she got rid of him. And she's a manipulator and she's packaged. And so the only problem she has is that she doesn't really speak extemporaneously variable. But she tries to flirt kind of, she looks at you and she smiles, he bats her eyes. And then she, she, she, she goes into full Kamala Harris mood. I don't know if her vocabulary is bigger than Kamala Harris, but you, at that security conference when she was asked about NATO and thing. Well, you know, it's like, well, it's like, no, let me just frame it this way and talk in a different voice now. And it's like, and you never get an answer because she doesn't know anything. One thing that I notice AOC does not have that these newer people on the block do is that weird, creepy smile, LSI. She loves me. She does that. She smiles, but it's not that weird, creepy. I would put a gun to your head in a minute. Hi, and we're going to take your little farm. We're going to ask or you, you know, it's a nice farm. It's really beautiful. We're going to ask or you over this little mountain. And see that desert over there? You can take a nice walk. No water, no food. We'll see you. It wouldn't want to be you. That's my dummy. That's the smile. He has that smile some time. Yeah. I'll say he really does when he does his little videos with his cowboy hat on. Yeah. But she does too. Graham Platner tried to put it on, but he was really successful. I was weak. I just, I think I mentioned the Jack we discussed her on. I was on Laura Monday night. Laura thought she was very charismatic. I kind of slightly disagreed with that. Yeah. I don't think she's charismatic. I think she's attractive and all that, but I don't think that the way she talks comes across as sincere. It looks, it comes as contrived. And it's always political. Yeah. Yeah. You know what she did say while she was dissing on woke one as she called it, that you have to assess what a candidate is saying now. And the emphasis of now is what also got me like we're so funny. They say that all white people are guilty of something that their great, great, great, great grandfathers may have done in the past. And we have to remember it for reparations right now. And we have to remember them a cartoon period every single word. And we have to see if anybody said the inward. But now, you know, the past doesn't matter. It's what you say now because we're socialists. No, no, it doesn't work that way. AOC, you know, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. And you're going to have to play by the rules. And you've said a lot of stupid things and machete to leave is said stupider things. And Miss Presley has said the stupidest of all things. And Jasmine Crockett has been an abject racist. And all these people have a record and then to dress it up. And you know why they're doing this because old Joe Biden from Scranton. He in the 70s, remember he had said we don't want to raise our children in a racial jungle. I represented a slave state, border state. And they were trying to moderate because they had just come off the primaries and they had seen the primaries, such as they were. There was there was Buttigieg, Cory Booker, Castro, Elizabeth Warren. They were all left wing losers and Bernie. And so they said, you know what? We need to get good old Joe Biden. And they said, you know, he's basically seen now. It doesn't matter. We're going to he's a useful wax and effigy. And he's going to talk about, well, we might have to frack. And you know, I don't believe we're going to defund the police. And then he went to sleep for four years. And they brought the whole left wing socialist dash Obama team in. And they ran the country into the ground. And he just did peers Morgan today. And you know, it's kind of an ambush show. But there was the Chinese Communist there. A Mao. And he wanted to debate. And I started to talk or you can't talk about anything. You haven't gone to China. And I said, could I talk about space exploration? What's I have to do it? Well, I've never been to the moon. I can't talk. And I said, I've written two books on the history of constitutional government, which we're talking about. Have you ever been degrees? I as a matter at all. And then it was just a series of socratic questions to him. Why are there 300,000 students here? But we only have 10,000 in your country. And he said, well, you invade every country. Everybody hates you. I said, if everybody hates us, why are 25 of 30 Latin American and South American companies flipping to conservative pro-American government? Because you went into Venezuela. I said, that's only one. But the people didn't like your communist Chinese supplanted government. Was will you invade Iraq? And I said, Iraq has a consensual government now. And then you went to Afghanistan. I said, we're not in Afghanistan. You're in Afghanistan. Taking the minerals as you always do with your belt and road. then I said, "How about Tibet?" You said, "Go ask Tibet." I said, "Go ask him where, into Tibet, in China, or maybe in Berkeley and ask him what they feel about being conquered and ethnically cleansed and absorbed by communist culture." It was just so funny. All these people, communist are really ridiculous. He said that we're very popular. I said, they're being kicked out all over the world because people are tired of your currency manipulation, your one-sided tariffs, your manipulation of trademark and patent, or should say infringement, and you're a mercantile imperialistic power that runs up debts and destroys countries and everybody knows it. And now you want to invade Taiwan. He had nothing really to say. I was kind of shocked. Yeah, because last time I went out, I had to debate some of the Middle East and my heart weight went up to 140, I think, and I was looking because I was getting kind of mad, and it was only 105 on my Apple Watch. So I'm healing. Yeah, you're either getting better or what didn't make you as mad as the other guy. I thought he would have some arguments, you know, but I said, "Where are you speaking from right now?" He said, "I said, you're in a Western country." And he said, "Yes." I said, "Now, why would that be?" "Well, my family's here." "Well, why would they be there?" I said, "I have some advice for you. You give advice to Americans. Why don't you go over to Shanghai or Beijing?" And in your little institute, write out that you believe in democracy and free speech and regular elections. I could do that. I can do that. I said, "No, you can't do that because you don't do that." And if you did do that, you would be jailed or shot. Ask what happened to people, you know, with the Wuhan lab. Still missing. But all these socialist or authoritarian, they all are. And they know they have to be because nobody would trade their liberty and freedom for a government mandated equality of result. No normal person, but Hong lost to Crowley who was the democratic candidate in Wisconsin. She got 39.3% to the vote. And he got 39.8% so by a hitter's breath at Crowley. Yeah, the only problem for Republicans is the Crowley Hong combined vote. I think it's 200,000 more than the Republican vote in his primary victory. So they're really going to have to get out the vote. Yeah, I think they're they're running against Tom Tiffany. Well, Victor, before we go on, let's welcome back our sponsor, Allegiance Gold. If you've studied in a history, you start to see a pattern. Nations don't lose their way overnight. They drift through debt and division. Until one day, you realized the foundations you thought were permanent were never permanent at all. Today America is spending at levels once reserved for wartime. We've normalized deficits that would have stunned earlier generations. And policymakers now debate whether the only path forward is more intervention, more printing, more distortion. But here's the historical truth every society that pushed its currency beyond discipline, eventually paid a price. The Y's never waited for collapse. They prepared for the correction. That's why so many thoughtful Americans, especially those nearing retirement or in retirement are reallocating part of their wealth into something that has outlasted every paper experiment in human history, physical, gold, not a speculation, but as insulation. Our reputation matters to us here at VDH and his own words, which is why we're partnered with Allegiance Gold, a company distinguished by integrity, reliability, and an eight plus rating with the better business bureau. For years, they've got it Americans through transparent education and long-standing relationships built on trust. And right now, they're extending a special liberty offer for our listeners to help you get started with real gold. Whether your funds are in retirement count or sitting in the bank, if you believe as we do that the best time to reinforce your position is before the storm becomes obvious. Call 844-790-9191 that's 844-790-9191 or visit protectwithvictor.com. Again, that's 844-790-9191-844-790-9191 or go to protectwithvictor.com. History rewards, those who take the long view and we like to thank Allegiance Gold for sponsoring Victor Davis Hansen in his own words. All right. So Victor, let's look at some of these primaries. We already talked a little bit about Francesca Hong who lost to David Crowley, which was a good thing, but I think it was by a very small margin. And I don't know the hope for the GOP in that primary, but you've suggested it's not very good. And then in Minnesota, we have a governor's race and a Senate race that are very important. We might take the Senate. Michelle Tafoya. I like Michelle Tafoya. Yes. I remember her when she was a network sideline newscaster, a sportscaster. And she apparently has a pretty good chance about against a hard left candidate Peggy Flanagan. So that will be a very interesting case. It will. She's an underdog because it's Minnesota. This again, these socialists, the demography of it is the democratic, the democratic socialists are 85% white and 70% with a degree. And they are focused in manyapolis, Washington, States, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Austin, Atlanta, Denver, Chicago, Boston, New York, Washington. They like big city enclaves in urban areas. And they are degreeed, but they go to these schools and they run up a couple hundred thousand dollars of debt. And then they rent apartments and they pay four or five thousand dollars a month for rent. And they love, as a single, the big city dating, going to rock concerts, going to cultural, you know, parties, getting old players and shakers and moopers. And they're very glib. But given higher education today and given in particular their degrees and social psychology, sociology, public policy, gender studies, race studies, leisure studies, recreation, you name them. They're poorly educated, but they got a very strong sense of self. In other words, they're ignorant and arrogant. So then they get in there and they live there. It's exciting for a couple of years. And they look around and say that I have a friend who I met at this party. He's a lawyer, a corporate lawyer. Hey, I know a guy who works on Wall Street. Oh, you know what? I just, a guy in his wife, they're both doctors at Boston General and they have beautiful homes. And you know, I'm just like them. No, you're not. They made choices that you didn't. But I have one, I have two hundred thousand dollars in debt and I have to get and houses are two million dollars. This is so unfair. I'm a socialist now. And so just this week, I live in a predominantly, I'll say to the last two or three weeks, I had one person come and he was at a electrician, Mexican American, a master electrician. And he's very expensive to pay. He both, he works on weekends as an independent contractor and he works with a cell and their electricians are very high paid. And he's living in his house. I had another guy who was just a Hispanic and he was a master gutter maker. I mean, he made the gutters on the house here. He had a machine to do it. And he was very well paid and he makes a lot of money. In fact, I won't tell you his name or anything about him, but he wanted to show me his total income. And I would tell you that that income he made was equivalent to a provost or a dean at the CSU or UC system in Fresno County of all places. And then I don't even ask the electrician. And then in addition to that, there's a guy that came out and worked on the pump. I was out there with him. And I was talking to him. And my point is none of them are socialists. None of them are radical. I would say they were all Trump voters. Because I talk to them. And my point is they have homes. But you know what? They don't live in San Francisco. And they don't have any student debt. And they're not unemployed. They can't, they're turning down jobs. So there is a demand for those types of people who have skills, trade skills, but not a psych major. And then I started to be curious, 'cause I always knew that the home ownership rate was 62% of the population, lived in their own home. So I looked it up, had to debate Peer's Morgan. So I wanted to check my facts after I did. And I was correct. It's 65%, it's above 62. So when everybody said, "Oh, the socials are coming because of affordability." And then I looked at the aggregate of inflation rate. Under Donald Trump, the first year of a second term and so far, it's about 2.8, 2.9 that we know of, it'll get higher 'cause of oil. Under Joe Biden, the average was 5.3. And that was not, and if you looked at what counted, not paperclips, but car insurance, house insurance, food, gas and diesel, price of cars, price of home, they all went up over 21% over his four years. So this affordability, the Republicans have been really inept at trying to show everybody that we had this huge COVID spike with the government just handed out money. We had all these low interest rates and it sparked inflation. And now they expect Donald Trump to lower that, you're never gonna lower that 20. That's a big, like a rat and a snake. It's there. That's making its way through the economy. But my point is that you can't say that. I was on Peer's Morgan and I tried to be, he said, "Well, affordability, you can see why." I said, "No, I can't see why they're social." I see people working all the time across America that aren't socialists and they don't do what these people do. They go out and they look at the job market and they say, "Do they need sheet rockers? Do they need plumbers? Do they need electricians? Do they need high school, whatever it is?" And then they say, "I want to get married and I want to have children. Can I do that in New York? No, can I do that in Denver? No, can I do that in San Francisco? No, can I do that? I go to Powell out there, right? And I have colleagues that work at Stanford and they tell me they're hurting because they're younger and they can't buy a house." Well, a 1,500 square foot home is 3 million bucks. Over here in Fresno County, you could buy it in Salma for 220,000. They would never live here. So, yes, it's unaffordable. If you have these certain demands, you know, that I have to live in this area and I have to have this type of house and I have to have this type of job. But, you know, and another guy came and he's looking at my foundation and he's very happy, he's doing very well. But I thought, "Wow, he has no student debt." And he like, I said, "What do you do every day? I crawl into crawl spaces." And I said, "Well, I know my crawl space." And he said, "Victor, you have three feet of crawl space. You have a lot of ducting, but that's heaven to where I go under." You know, and I thought, I thought of that scene where that Russell Crowell movie, LA Confidential where they killed those two people and they put them in the crawl space. And the crawl space was like 12 inches. And Russell Crowell had to go in there. So, I mean, but he crawls in there and he wasn't apologetic. He's, "Oh no, I have to go in your crawl space." So, this is an erotic. And then the question is, they have all the student debt. They have worthless majors. They didn't get a good general education. So nobody talked about capitalism or socialism. Are they a history of the country or anything? And they all want to be hip and cool. And what do they call it, swag? They want swag. And they want to live where there's a big sports franchise and there's some, there's opera. There's a local impure station. So, that's what they want. And I'm sorry, we can't make your, fit your demands given the choices that you made. If you want to be a brain surgeon or a corporate lawyer or a Wall Street financier, I wouldn't recommend it. Those are high demand jobs. You got to be brilliant to do those jobs. And the people I see in the next socialists are not brilliant. I saw that poor woman that was a co-spounder. She was just-- Oh, on that Sunday show with-- Yeah, I felt sorry for I was like a target practice. She was the target. And Shannon didn't miss. Everyone was a bullseye. But, you know, they make their own bad. And then they get angry that they have to sleep in it. And one of the reasons I also mentioned today on this, Peer's Morgan, why is housing then-- it is more expensive, but why? And the answer is, if you want to build a house, the regulations in blue states-- because we were talking about blue places-- is so incredible that the builder is adding on all of those costs. You got to get environmental impact statement. You've got to get-- in Santa Cruz, I was going to remodel a house that my daughter was. I got these demands from the city about remodeling. I had to use organic materials. I had to use special sheet lock that was environmentally sound. I had to get wire that had a poo plastic. It was crazy. And then the permit, just to get a permit, was $10,000 just for one room. And then I've written probably two columns a week for 30 years, 25 years. So you could say that I've written 100 times 2,500 columns. You know what the column that I almost got lynched? I wrote a column and saying about the housing crisis. And I had to go speak in San Francisco to a group. So I filed it the day before it from my Hoover office. And it said, there wouldn't be a housing crisis in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, out there 10. Because on the west side of 280, as you go from San Jose up to San Francisco, there's 100 miles, 70 miles, of open land all the way to the coast. Lajonde, all that's open. And I said, I was being facetious, but I said, people who clean your toilets and cook your food and your glass should not have to have five families in a redwood city house for $2 million. Well, why don't we do the European thing? And just we'll make high density, low income houses. And we will have Bart and the Metro go meet and they can go anywhere. And we can go all the way to the ocean. And you can put 500,000 people there in $200,000 condo. Of all the things I've ever written about the Iraq War, anything, I got the most hate mail. I got so much hate mail that I was speaking that next day in San Francisco. And a family came up, very wealthy. And they kind of barged in. And they said, this is a private thing. I want to talk to that guy, we'll have a Q&A. Who do you think you are? I have a woodside home. And I have a little polo field. My wife loves to feed the foxes and the deer. And you're going to put a bunch of homes there, just because you're an envious and jealous. You couldn't make it. And I said, I have a home. It's near Selma, California. I'm perfectly happy. I'm just worried about people who don't. I can't afford it. And I said, who did you vote for? Of course, he was hard left. And basically, that's the attitude of the whole Northern California. All the way from actually from La Jolla to Berkeley. We are very, very left wing. We believe in climate change. There's no place for racism in this home. My Ukrainian flag is bigger than yours. And yet, when it comes to helping poor people and getting in close proximity to them or taking away open spaces. So I said to him, well, what was your house like? He said, what do you mean? I said, well, how big is your home? Well, I have only had five. I said, so you have five acres on a hillside and woodside, prime location. And with a view, he said, yes, I did. I said, I know doubt you did work at it. But that's not a very wise use of space. Five acres for one person. You're a leftist. Don't you believe in everybody should have the same? And he said, I work hard for this. And you would destroy it. I said, how would I destroy it? Well, you would ruin views. And we'd have people come into my yard. So I thought, build a wall. But you're against the wall. That was when they were talking about making a wall. George Bush, I said, you're against the wall. So the leftist-- and I mentioned to the group, this audience before, they'll have a good friend who's a developer. And he was saying, you really do have to film every house you build. Because the building inspector will pull something on you or the tenant will try to get out of-- you know, he'll-- Yeah. paying the full cost and he'll say that, you know, this plumbing rattles under there and you didn't do it right or we don't have enough plugs and so they have the blueprint and they film the blueprint and then every day they film it and they show them. Here it is. That cost, I ask him how much that cost. He said $10,000 to $15,000 just to hire the film crew. And the house goes up in price as well. Before we've zoning and everything. And land, you pay for the land and you pay for the regulations and you pay for the size. I said to peers today, we're not building 1200 square houses that have two bedrooms. I grew up in a 12, well, for my until I was eight years old, I grew up not in the house. I'm speaking now this in my grandparents. I woke up at 900 square foot and three of us slept in one room and then my father got the idea of building 800 square feet for two three more bedrooms. Actually it was 10, it was a thousand square. He built it himself but he never connected it to the house. He said he was but he fell down and broke his elbow and had taken it out and he had a full time job. So my mom said, "Well, what's now?" And he said, my dad was the same. He was smiling. He goes, "Pauline, that's my mom. This is going to be a wonderful experience." And she said, "Well, just how is it going to work, Bill?" Well, now we have a guest room in the old house. And she said, "Yes." And now we have three little bedrooms in our own bathroom. She said, "We don't have our own bathroom. We have one bathroom for three bedrooms." And he said, "Well, if you count the other one, but you said we have to go out, you'd have to go out in the rain or the cold to get to the other bedroom." And then he said, "Yes, but isn't it nice to wake up at six in the morning and look at the sky or at night when we go out to bed, we'll watch TV in the living room. We have a living room in a kitchen and kind of one bedroom. And it'll be really nice. We'll get everybody to go and watch TV there. And then each person will kind of open the door and walk 30 yards over a stone." And she said, "Well, trip. This is going to be cold. This is crazy. We got to, we got to join them." And he never did. My twin brother lives there and he put a breezeway over it. That was good. But the point is that I never thought I was deprived. But my point is that we all lived in small homes. We don't do that now. When you look at a new home, it's 25 hundred square feet. And everybody thinks they need 25. Well, that's a lot more expensive than a two bedroom one bathhouse. And if you don't have that, you got to vote for the socialist. I don't know how you get that. So you get angry? Yeah, I get angry, you know. When everybody was losing their farms during the razion crash of 83 and then the corporate thing in 2003. And my our family kind of went broke kind of. I mean, there's only 40 acres in the family out of 180 left. And I could, you know, I could have said, "This is unfair. We need to confiscate those big farmland." I look around and all my neighbors, every single one without exception is gone. And the farmhouses are there and they're rented out to farm labors. And they're part of a little tessera in a huge corporate mosaic of 10,000, 8,000, 6,000 acres. And minus two, I rented out. But I don't hate the person who who runs it and bought it. He he was a visionary. He understood what was going on. So I wrote stupid, I mean, I'm not stupid. I think there were good books. I wrote books about family farming and agrarianism and the beauty of the family farm and raising kids over three or four generations. But as one reviewer said, you're just the problem with his book is he's trying to find a romantic justification for his own dismal failure. I don't think that was quite true. But the point is, I'm not too sympathetic to the democratic socialist because they created the regulatory and the environment and the environment and radical green environment and not in my backyard and cancel coach will that helps drive up the whole price of houses. And they were the ones that ruined the university. And they were the ones that brought in these worthless majors. What do you do with a DEI? I majored in Africana studies from Stanford, okay? Can you go over there and code or can you go over there and write a memo about what our next five-year plan is? No. But she can clock somebody in the head on the basketball court. You can. As one Silicon Valley Grandi told me, I said, well, why don't you hire Stanford people? Two reasons. They've had too many remedial classes after George Floyd because they abolished the SAT. And the grades can't be trusted because they're all inflated. And when we do hire them, they can't do math. They can't calculate, they're not analytical and they can't write. And then they go to HR and complain. So they're a loser, loser, loser. Kind of like what Mark and Dreson said about people today that they hire in Silicon Valley. Yeah. Or they do stupid things on social media like that Dijon A who wrote that. The whole incident was so Sophie cutting him on the basketball court where she hit her, basically, a doctor. Although I nobody's been saying that Sophie made the basket. So that was pretty cool. But Sophie, I just saw Sophie. She didn't. Sophie doesn't get enough credit. She's not an enforcer only. She is really good player. But there was that almost 6'11 foot Chinese national girl. Then she was shooting a half court shot almost. And Sophie ran at full speed and jumped up in the air and batted it away and stopped it. Yeah. It's just something about Sophie that I think a lot of our listeners like because we like her because she's like an all-American girl. I know that's not a racist thing to say because she's blonde and white. But she's so upbeat and bubbly. And they ask her, why aren't you dating? She said, because I'm so tall. I don't want to be taller than my husband or boyfriend. And then she goes, I don't have enough time. Look, we're traveling every city. She said, nobody asked me out. Yeah. I doubt that because she's quite attractive. But it was so funny. Her attitude about all of this, you know, that she drives, I think we all know that she drives people crazy on the left in general. And the dominant culture of black lesbian, angry women in the WNBA that wanted to destroy her in Caitlin. And she takes it with a grain of salt, you know. You know what bothered me though was when she was on the basketball court, they were showing one of her games and Riley Gaines showed up and had a support of her sign. And then they were, but when it came to Sophie, the crowd was booing her for things, largely so it was kind of disturbing because I would think she would have more supporters than that. It sounded loud. I went and read what she said. She didn't say anything negative about trans. She was talking about protecting young girls and their rights and aspirations to be female athletes without competing against men, trans women who had males, muscular skeletal systems. And and then I don't know if you saw that other conference when the coach, when she got clothes lined, the coach didn't support her at all. She said, well, that was a, that happens all the time and that, no, it doesn't. Nobody just takes her elbow and tries to hit you in the Adam's apple and then starts to kind of flaunt it that what she did. And this was the coach of her team. And so everybody got angry, but did you see when the coach was saying that, Caitlin Clark was like this with her head in her hands like, oh my gosh, no wonder where I'm getting beat up with a coach like that. That's what she was thinking. So then all the fans got angry and wanted to fire her. And then the PC owner came out and gave her full support to the coach. As a general will in sports, you know, it's like that scene in for whom the bells told they're getting these Spanish villager and there's kind of a bad guy and they said, you had to get, they had some prisoners, I can't remember the exact scene, but there were four horses and he's, he had to kill somebody and then he didn't need to kill him because the person was killed on their side. So he had an extra and they asked, what did you do that? He goes, because my village, I take care of my people, I keep my village. It's a famous quote. And that's the attitude of a coach. I mean, you don't condone violence of your own players, but you protect them. It's kind of like an army [BLANK_AUDIO] you're the general, but not when, you know, it would be kind of like George Patton said, would say, "Well, I can see why the Germans surrounded Bastone, and if they must up some people's hair, that happens. We do the same. That doesn't work." Yeah, that coach definitely wasn't on her side enough, but I was worried too that the crowd that goes to those games wasn't on the side of her rightly gains, and there's that other woman that is an athlete that supports just women in sports. But we'll see how that goes, and we'll see whether Royce White and Innis Cantor Freedom are able to join with so much support of the trends. He was pretty clever, Royce White, when he started talking, and he said, "There are times when I feel female, and then he'll have a wig on too." And it's very hard, is, how would you say one is sincere or insincere? It's going to be very hard to do. Oh, it'll just be political. It's going to expose the whole trappity of it. Yeah, it'll just be political bias. If they seem like they want left-wing things, then they'll be okay, and if they're not, that's how their committee or commissional-- But there's a French trans athlete. Yeah. He's really trans, so they're going to let him play. It'll be interesting, because he went through the whole thing with hormone treatments and everything. Yeah, but he looks like a muscular man. Yeah. All right, Victor, let's go ahead and take a break, and then we'll come back and talk a little bit about. Gosh, we have so much. How about we'll turn to Mike Lindell, just for a second. That's still on the primary. Stay with us, and we'll be right back. I'm Brendan Steinhauser, CEO of the Alliance for Secure AI. We're working every day to make sure that AI is safe, secure, and aligned with American values. Welcome back. Victor Davis Hanson in his own words. You can find Victor on social media at on eddx. His handle is @vdhanson and on Facebook. He has a page called Hanson's Morning Cup. So just one quick thing about the primaries. Donald Trump supported Mike Lindell, and it seems to me he didn't really have much of a chance. I think that was a mistake, but Trump is loyal to his supporters. Yeah, too. He supported him in the governor's race in Michigan. I think his attitude is that he has no chance of winning, and he has no chance of winning, but he has no chance of hurting the Republican nominee who will win, the nominee, and so he's going to endorse him. It hurts his credibility, because everybody hangs on every endorsement he does. He should have just endorsed the person ahead in the polls that had the best chance of winning. Yeah. All right. Let's turn to Mandami. I know you mentioned that his wife requested or he requested for his wife that NYPD officers security detail from the NYPD when she went to visit Syrian Lebanon. The NYPD replied, no, we don't do this. So I was kind of surprised. Yeah. Mandami doesn't understand the NYPD. It's traditionally the most professional skilled. That wonderful guy on Fox, Paul Moro, he just embolizes the professionalism the knowledge of NYPD. During the terrorism, they had more knowledge of the terrorism than the FBI did. They had an anti-terrorist investigative group. They're all professionals. They're all multi-generational. They're all ethnics. The Puerto Ricans, they are Irish, the Italians, and ethnically and blacks. They do get along and they protect each other. Sometimes it has been bad in the past when there was corruption and internal affairs. You see all these movies and news accounts. But Mandami waltzes in here and he tells them they're going to do this and this and this. They basically said, who do you think you are? We're not going to send four or three or four of our best people to go over on a holiday little jaunt, a jaunt to Lebanon and Syria to protect your wife after she trashes the country and spouts off this anti. We have a million Jews in this city and she's talking about anti-Semitism. She has all these anti-Semitic rounds and you said that we were blank, blank, blank. He did. And you wanted to defund us at one time. So we're not going to do it. And you know what? This was the subtext they didn't say. We're here. You're here for four years. So you're going to be gone and we know that and we're going to be happy when you're gone. And we're going to vote against you. But you don't you we're here forever. So when we have mayors like Bloomberg or Giuliani that support us, then fine, but not you. And he and he's shocked at that. And he's blaming. He always blamed the staff when these and he remember last week it was he went to a function where the NYPD was there and they started booing him. And he's he's another Democrat. I mean, whether it's Obama, when he goes to a black audience, I just want to say, you're very braggable. Or it's, here we are. I'm so tired. I didn't get here all this time. Or it's mandami that accent they had that he was only eight years ago. Well, well, I am I am Zora Mandani from I'm from Uganda. And yes, yes, yes. So I play music from my and I am from Uganda, Uganda. And it was all fake. And he couldn't drop that accent in just seven or eight years. These people have no identity. They just turn them on. And it's really insulting to the the audience that we're supposed to listen to that. I mean, can you imagine Donald Trump with that Queen's act? I guess it's a Queen's accent. Can you imagine that Queen's accent every to change it? Can you see Trump going before a group of black professionals and say, you better vote for me? Are they going to put you all in chains? Like Biden said, he would never do that. Whatever he is, he's authentic. They had on something I was reading for this show the back to them. Oh, who it was fun to drink beer with used to be the test of whether you like something or not. And they reminded me of the Hillary Clinton going up to that North Carolina mining area and drinking beer with it. And then dropping a and then bowling and then shooting out target. Yeah. Remember with Garcron? Look at that all over for hella cleanse. You think it is anti ugly. You got so angry. I thought, yeah, she's trying to play your game. All right, Victor, we know that Fauci has or I should say Rand Paul and oh, the other guy don't the Minnesota guy don't not was constant center Johnson. Yeah, he's one was constant. He's got that I love there was constant Northern Michigan. It's the Scandinavian accent and Minnesota. That's kind of it's like the Fargo accent. Yeah, sorry, my sorry everybody. My mic was off. We're looking at the new revelations of the Fauci texts from Rand Paul's committee and Senator Johnson of Wisconsin. And I was wondering if you had any thoughts. The one thing that everybody's been talking about this week is that it was clear in his text that he understood concerns about vaccinating pregnant women and he didn't allow that out and said everybody should get vaccinated, even pregnant women. I remember that. Fauci's problem was that he wanted to ingratiate himself into the president inner circle and then leak. He he tested Trump, but he wanted to be the national spokesman and that required him to praise Trump's operation warp speed. The vaccination secretly. He knew that it was not a vaccination as we know it with a weekend or dead virus. The part it was genetic engineering. It was an mRNA messenger type of vaccine that would create on its own and we didn't know where these spike proteins would end up. Whether they'd all concentrate at a you know in the liver or the gut or the breast or the genital areas or the young men in their heart, but they would cause inflammation as a foreign object and therefore they would create antibodies. And I remember I got the two modernas and then I got I thought I'm going to go to Hillsdale Hillsdale was open and I got the last one at the end of March so April, May, June, July and I went in August. Five months later I got COVID. Then I got a test, my annual checkup and Los Angeles friend of mine came out and he said your antibodies are off the charts. I mean they're I think it was at that time one to two thousand or twenty five months. They're off. We don't know how much they are." And I said, "I guess I have mass health disease. I overreact." And he said, "This is really scary. You've got all these spike proteins in you." And he knew all these. But he embraced the Platonic Noble Y. That these people don't know anything. I know it's good for them. So I have to be paternal. And so yes, I help manufacture, create, birth, this virus. But it wouldn't be good for people to hear that because they would lose confidence in me and the NIH and the N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-N-I-A-I-D. And it wouldn't be good for the CDC. So I'm going to lie and say I had nothing to do with it. I don't know whether masks work. They probably don't. I said they don't. I said, but if they want to wear too, it couldn't hurt. I don't know where we got social distancing. Somebody dreamed up that no there's no scientific proof that you have little squares six feet apart when you want to go into a department store. But I'll go ahead. It must be good. I'll lie that it says that science. And maybe these vaccinations will help older people for a while. So I'll just lie and say, you can't be infected. You can't be infectious and the people who don't do this are basically your enemies because they're selfish. That's that was his line. And now that's all coming out that he deliberately lied and misled people. He's got three or four things that are really bad. The first is that he helped birth this virus. So in one way, he's kind of the father, co-father, co-parent, and that killed in the United States of million people and it's sickened for more than three months, 20 million. Some of them are still sick. I was on a long COVID group just reading not that I ever posted. I never posted. I just wanted to read about what people were doing, self-help, supplements, or medicines. And it was just crazy. I mean, people had been in bed for three years, four years. It was really sad. And he did that. And then the second thing that he did, he lied about the vaccinations. And he could have said, this is, I want to warn everybody, this is a new type of genetic engineering vaccination. And I think it will help most people. But that's a decision you have to make. And we're not going to kick out people in the military. We're not going to kick out people in the university. We're not going to force students out. But he didn't do that. He lied. And then the third thing he did is he used his power of grant making, along with Francis Collins, at the National Institutes of Health, to punish enemies and to reward friends. So he created group think. And then he called Bacharia and Kulendorf and grouped to the three stuages. I never heard of that before, attacking, you know, sophisticated, competent, world renowned researchers. And yet he knew when he talked about all, they were right. Because he said to Scott Atlas, he says about Atlas, Atlas is probably right. Why he was bad mouthing him to the country. And he got to Trump. I mean, we don't like to think about that. But Donald Trump kept him on. And the Scott left. I think he left in September, October before the election, or maybe it was after, but he had lost favor. Trump had favored Fauci over Scott. And that was planned by Birx and Fauci. And then finally, Trump saw them for what they were. It was an election year. And they were trying to extend the shutdown, shut down the schools, slow down that booming economy that had been in January, 2020, a ticket, easy ticket to his reelection. And they were being beloved and deified by the left. And then Trump, all of a sudden said, wait a minute. We went from like 2.8 GDP to minus seven. We went from three percent unemployment to 10 for a period of a month. We went, you guys are trying to shut down the whole economy, the schools, everything. When there's evidence in Europe, you don't have to do that. And that's because it's an election year and you hate my guts. And you want to campaign about that on that. And that's but it was too little too late. Yeah, that's what happened. And one of the rare mistakes Trump made in his administration, let's do a last thing before we go to comments because I have a special comment section today. I know. But the last thing is just Trump recently was coming back from a trip. And he they put him on a different plane than he was scheduled to go on. But he left the reporters on the plane that he was scheduled to go on. And boy did they not like that that they were the target stand that. So he's on Air Force one with all of his preventive rocketry that takes missiles and leads him in the wrong direction. They can fire his F-16 or F-35 escorts are there. And then at the last moment, the Secret Service said, I think they're going to send a missile at you. Or they have people in Turkey that are working. Turkey's not necessarily antithetical to Iran. And so they said, you've got to get onto another smaller plane and get out of here. And the actually the plane didn't have any of the defenses that Air Force one. So then they thought they were being guinea pigs. And this was cowardly or something. And so first of all, one, what a high opinion of themselves that they're more important than the president. And two, they were never in danger really. I mean, with the president, you have zero chance, you have to have that. Maybe there was three or four percent. But they didn't know that anywhere when they get an Air Force one and they fly all over the world and fog and bad third world neighborhoods, there's always an element of risk. But the idea that he put them and exposed them to danger when they had this very, very safe plane with all of its natural defenses. They built into it. And then you had fighter escort and Trump didn't. Then third, he's the only president. I looked this up. He is the only president in history that have had four assassination attempts in which the secret service or the security detail fired at the shooter. They fired at the shooter in Pennsylvania. They fired at the shooter in Palm Beach. They fired at the shooter at Marlago when he came and tried to break in, killed him, and they fired at this shooter in Washington, D.C. at the correspondent's dinner. That's never happened before. Nobody has ever been a target like he is. So that's number three. What do you expect when you get on a plane with him? Everybody thinks they want to kill him. And then four. Why is that? Does it have anything to do with Robert DeNiro? I like to beat him to Joe Biden. I take him behind the jam and beat him up. Madonna, I'd like to blow up the White House. I dream of it. Okay, I think we're living here's the head of Donald Trump. Snoop Dogg. I'm going to shoot him. Royal Shakespeare troop in Central Park. Let's stab him as Julius Caesar. We'll make the Julius Caesar look like Trump. Remember before he died, Peter Fonda said he wanted to put Malena and their kids in a cage and have people spit at them or torture them. So they have lowered the bar so much. And every time there was assassination attempt, social media lit up, just like they did with, you know, why can't he be? Why can't these guys shoot like Mangioni? I've seen that. So they have no credibility. They're not even reporters. They're just adolescents. Yeah. Victor, you just did a wonderful segue into the first comment I want to read. I was going to read the nice one first, but since you're segue, I get a bad one that I don't even tell you I get them. Yeah. So I would. This one is to make the point of how violent the left is. Here it is. In addition to what Victor just said, Frank DeVito writes, your brain dead hyperpartisan political analysis is worthless. Please kill yourself for the good of the nation and the world. Today's white wing is morally and intellectually bankrupt. Kill yourself. Thanks. Oh, it's so violent. That's I just. It's so worthless that you apparently listen to it. Don't listen to it. And I may die, but I'm not going to kill myself. That's a mortal sin. And the other thing, I got another one that said it was funnier than that one. The about three months ago, he said, dear Professor Hansen, I hear you had your low or a must of your right lung taken out. It's too bad. You didn't have a tumor in your left one as well. What do you think about that? That was a little bit clinical. Yeah. That was cruel. All right. So the left is violent. And they write violent things. I got on the pierce more in this morning, not to beat a dead horse. I thought he would say class assistants and Hoover fellow or right wing. and historian, right, we, and they always have to say that. All right, and then here is the nice one. I had several history professors, but none of those wonderful men match your endless stream of wisdom. I don't think I get, I can get you a Nobel Prize, but I'm telling my Indiana senators to recommend you to the president that he give you a medal of freedom. That's nice. As a veteran, as a Vietnam era vet, and as one of the last Vietnam draftees, I especially appreciate your brilliant military perspective. Finally, we're roughly the same age. I'm a few months older. My selfish prayer is that you outlive me. After many years of teaching, you make me still enjoy learning. I believe you are positively changing our country. You are a gift to our nation. Judy and I are praying for your improving health. God bless. Dr. Phil and he says not the one that makes the big money. I do think, I think I kind of surprised the oncologists that the first three signitaria blood DNA were a negative, because that does come back 40% of the time. And I think it had to, I do believe, I know that this seems irrational to my agnostic friends, but I do believe prayer helped me. I really did. I could feel it certain times. There are certain times you get up when you've lost all that blood, and you have transfusions, and you've had allergies to them, and you have anemia, and your heart's not in sinus rhythm. And you think you can't make it, and then some days you can. You feel like just I can feel it. I'm getting stronger, I'm getting better. I think that's when I hear prayers, I really do, to be a little bit mystical about it. And those days I hope are more often than not these days. I do, I do too. All right, well, thanks to our audience for tuning in, and thank you, Victor, for all of your discussion, especially of the political primaries this week. Saturday, what are we looking forward to, to presidents? I think it's Gerald Ford, and Harrison and. Poor Jerry Ford. Yeah. Poor Harrison didn't need to die immediately in office. Well, he had 31 days. Yeah. He died of interic fever, I think. Oh, okay. All right, so that's what's coming up Saturday, plus more news from the week. Typical new and Tyler, too. Yes. Thank you, everybody, for watching and listening. This is Sammy Wink, and Victor Davis, Hanson, and we're signing off.
