The motivation equation, the number one way to hit your goals.

This lecture emphasizes that obstacles in life are not random but are purposely given by heaven to test and elevate you. The speaker argues that the size of the reward is directly tied to the difficulty of the challenge. Instead of dwelling on how you acquired your issues—through trauma or upbringing—you should focus on what you are doing to overcome them. The key formula for success is ensuring your desire (your "why") is greater than the obstacle (the "how"). This desire is fueled by two elements: faith (expectancy) and value. If you lack faith in a positive outcome or do not value the goal enough, you will fail to put in the necessary effort. The main enemies of focus are impulsiveness and delay, which lead to distraction and procrastination. The speaker highlights that setbacks, such as injuries or rejections, are actually opportunities to build raw desire and create greater vessels for spiritual light. He warns that the price of regret for not trying is far worse than the temporary discomfort of facing challenges. Ultimately, you must take urgent action on inspiration within five seconds, or your brain will kill the idea. The lecture concludes that heaven helps those who cultivate strong desire and take decisive steps toward their goals, rather than giving up at the first sign of difficulty.
Okay, good morning. Welcome to today's class. This class is Lumi Shman Yakhmiyad Al-Midali Israel. Success in Yashomayyam of Gadil of Nishab and M. Shab of Nishab and M. Shab of Nishab, Rana Makamta Babasha. This class is also sponsored by the Udhayur Ha'am, M. M. M. H. Gital and Rachel Brown matchmaking. Also the healing of Helena Ornabakh and Khanna. All right, today's class we're going to talk about not Rafael Benshelemaid. We have the event in Munse. All right, today's class is really, really going to be a very effective class on how to get focused and how to hit your goals. It's an incredible, incredible formula. I always use it. It always works. And we're going to talk about the key elements of what, why are we getting distracted and how to really, really bring it down. So Rana Makamta says, very, something very, very black and white. And he tells us the bottom line is that whatever you're struggling with in your life, that heaven, heaven purposely put that obstacle in front of you. And according to the obstacle that you have in front of you is the greatness of the reward. So we all have things in our lives. Some of us have issues with letting go. Some of us have issues with desire. Some of us have issues with other things in our life. And according to that obstacle that you have, some of us males right now have a massive issues with masculine energy. Woman have an issue with feminine energy, you know, getting into that surrender submission. If you know what that means, we've looked up in the exit. So we have that. Everybody's got their issues, particularly. And according to those issues, those are purposely given in heaven. Those issues are given to you in heaven. It's not a random accident. As much as we want to go into the inner child and all that bottom line is heaven gave you that. So it came from how it had come from rationally, we rationalize it came from the inner child and the parents bottom line is you got it. How you got it? How we went through trauma, we went through this. Forget about how you got it. You got it and the story. Okay. Now what do you got to do to fix it? Heaven doesn't really care how you got it so much. They're really interested in what are you doing to get out of it? That's that's the bottom line. Sometimes we over analyze too much in how we got it. How do we end up like this? That's not the case. You have money on your shoulders, haven't want you to get out and clean up. That's it. And that's why sometimes the analyzation, too much analyzation with how you got there, how to inform. Okay. We got it. We know what to work on, but I'm not going to tell you what you need to get out of it is the key is the key. And this is what you're saying, according to the obstacle that you have, that means a lot of times these obstacles, they're unbearable, they're unbearable, they're heavy, they're exhausting, wake up, like again, but you need to understand, you have to have a different attitude. If they think about what happens when I cross this obstacle, what is my life going to look like? That's what you have to get excited instead of looking at it as a birding. And this is where the word "wrapson" desire is the same word as "tenor" pipe. So it's very important you're added to towards this because if you deal with a difficult person, if you're dealing with a difficult person, you deal with a difficult addiction. You can see it. Look, imagine if I deal with this difficult person, I could become superhuman. I could become the biggest giver like God. What an opportunity, right? Instead of saying, I can't deal with this anymore, it's exhausting because it's really forcing you to give. We're going to talk about tomorrow's class. The whole purpose of a construction in our life is to get you to now receive by giving instead of receiving by just receiving. So you need the construction in order to increase the desire and increase the appetite, etc. Because it's the desire that increases everything. It's very important to understand how you diagnose it. It's so important because right away, most of us don't diagnose what we're going through the right way. Then you won't have the battery to do it. You need a lot of strength in spirituality. You need massive amounts of strength to get through anything. No one says, "Our job is to go halfway, Hashem does the rest. But if you don't have the strength to get halfway, nobody's going to put you." A lot of us, we had a story, "I don't know the strength anymore. What do you mean? You didn't wake up." Strength is, we give up at the one-yard line. We say, "Okay, God, please. Cross me over. We don't give up at the 99-yard line. We're in the beginning. We give up at almost one more. Okay, I can't. I can't, Hashem. Now you got to fix it." So this is where today we need to understand that according to your obstacle is according to that desire. It's the according. And again, all beginnings of anything are difficult. Just tell us that all beginnings are difficult. And anything you'll be going, it's like labor pain. So we need to also understand that if something is radically difficult for you, it's because the other side, it's a different world for you. There's a different world for you. Don't look at this. You got burdened. You got what a headache you got dealt with. What a problem. All these things, if you look at the words that we say, what a problem. What a headache. I'm so stressed over this. We all do it. But after you get off the pity party, you have to start saying, "How do I get excited about this? There has to be something on the other side of this that's going to change my life." That is what Rob Nappen's telling you. You got to look at the other side of the garden and say, "Yes, there's tons of weeds, but once I clean these weeds up, there's going to be a gorgeous garden because God wants to give me the greatest amount of good possible in my life. How do I get there?" Now that's a question. How do you get there? Because we know the Yeh-Tahara, his job is to obviously extract you his office job. It's a delay. So what's this guy pure steel? He created something called the Motivation Equation. He basically came out, "What are the key elements of why people are hitting goals? What's the elements that are attracting you from your goals?" This is 100% so accurate. A good example of this would be, imagine you're in the city and a guy's an overdriver and he loses his license. What would be his urgency from 1 to 10 on getting his license? 10. But imagine if the person's a, if he lives in the city, he works next to the city. If he loses his license, what's the urgency of him getting it? 1, 2. Okay, you get to see who gets it. Okay, these are for the airport, but it's not an urgent thing. It's the urgency that creates the desire to get it. For that person, if he doesn't have the license, he can, he can, there's no money. There's no, he can get a job, he can't work. So the urgency really, really depends on the value of that thing. Our job is to estimate, to allocate what something valuable is to you. For one person, something can be extremely valuable. For me, marriage is extremely valuable. For me to recover and get remarried. It's very extremely valuable because it's essential to my spirituality. For some people that get divorced, okay, you know what? Let me have fun for five years. Nothing deal. The value is completely different so the desire is completely different. Some people, what are you talking about? I have to be in shape. It's not an option. It's not an option. Versus, okay, it's nice to be in shape. It'd be nice. It's not the object. It's your value towards the object. That's the key. And we need to understand how we come up with our values and specifically in spirituality. Some people for Shabbat, their values, their value are at 10 to 10. Other people value it at 1 to 10. So the spiritual light that you get is based on the value you assigned to it. And if your value is not assigned to it, right, right, wait. You're not going to have enough desire to do it. So this is where our job is really, really to change the value of things and understanding because if you don't change the value you're never going to get to that. Same thing with clients. What's your value of getting a spiritual or a awaken? Not much. I have a court order. I'm just here for a court order. 1 to 10. So I know his level of effort is going to be based on his court order. He's 1 to 10. He's a 1 to 10. Very low effort. Getting through the program. All he wants to do is get the court order. The same thing when I went to driving school from my wonderful record. Did I want to be the greatest driver in the world? Absolutely not. I was there because I had to go to drive to school because I didn't want to come out like this. And the story, I couldn't care less what the guy said. I was there to check a box. I wasn't there to say, you know, maybe I can become the greatest driver in the world. Maybe this guy can teach me something at 8 o'clock at night in the middle of a college, 2, 3, 3 years. It's brutal for me. So my value was, I'm here. Check a box and get me the hell out of here as soon as possible. So, but another person could look at it completely different. So you need to understand it's not the items. It's your value towards it. Your value will determine how important the effort puts in. And if you don't have that right, now where do we lose value when we lose self-esteem? When you lose self-esteem, something's not valuable today. This is where I was sitting in the city yesterday, you know, guys, you know, I said, listen, don't you think you're going to have a problem? You're not approaching girls. How do you want them to approach you? What do you want? Imagine you have a store and you're not approaching girls and tired of getting, it's your job to get married. It's your job to find the zeal. It's not their job. It's not your job. It's yours. And you're going in there with no effort and no value. You understand that's a big problem because if imagine you had a store and you didn't want to come up to the customer, what would you do? You call the store down. So when you start becoming that becomes that to understand how in the world that I get to a point where I can't even approach a girl, how in the world that I get to that point? Where's my value and what's distracting me from that situation? That's really how did I get to a point where I stopped praying for three months? Do I not value prayer? Do I not value a connection with God? Where are my values? So this is when rock bottom comes or chaos comes to really tell you, hey, you got to recheck your values, rebalance your values and see where your energy is being put. And what's taking away that value and increasing the value. So the bottom line is his formula was.
What's going to get you to your goals are expectation. That means your faith, your confidence in something. If you have confidence, you expect it to happen, your faith in it. And second is your value. If you look at what happened in Egypt, there were two things that the Jews, 80% of the Jews got stuck in Egypt. In the two factors were, they lacked faith and they lacked a desire. So when you lack faith and you lack a desire, what happens? You stay in Egypt. You stay in it. But we can't sit there and be in the points because remember, we have infinite potential inside of us to say, "It's an obstacle. It's okay. It's not meant to be." Who says that to you? Like, where do you get this is not meant to be kind of thing? The way people are given up today for absolutely emails people give away. People give up for the smallest things today. We have become very, very, we have not become resilient today. And people just give up for everything. Maybe it's my Scorpio energy that the setbacks is what drives me. But you can't just sit there and give up on everything because that's the whole point of the obstacle. It's the increased your desire. You understand? The whole point of the obstacle is to increase your desire. That's the whole point of it. And heaven is sending it to you. Who do you think is sending you these obstacles? It's God sending it to you. If you don't realize it's God sending it to you, and you're just sitting there saying, "Oh, it's not a big deal." You're going to squash. And he says the key element in passing the test is very simple. Your desire has to be greater than the obstacle. Your why has to be greater than the how. If your why is greater than the how, you're going to get absolutely everything done. 100%. If your why is not greater than the how, finished. That's it. That's the formula. So in Egypt, they're the expectancy in the value, the faith and their value. Expectancy means my confidence in something. My faith in something. If I have confidence in something, I'm going to expect it to happen. You're going to put the energy. So those are the two things that are driving you today. Expectancy and value. Faith and desire. Those are the two things. This is what Ramanathan says. There's nothing as great as the desire. There's nothing that could stop desire. Where does desire come in the spiritual world? It comes from Ketar. It comes from the crown. We're supposed to desire. That's why you tell people, stop thinking about the reward. Stop thinking about that. You're not here for the rewards. You're here for the desire. The desire is what's going to make the vessel. When we get stuck in the details, what am I getting? It's not working. No, it's because you need more desire. It's always the lack of, it's always the issue with the desire is not there. And sometimes in life you get pushed and you get pushed and you get pushed. It's for you to scream back and break the walls. It's not for you to say, okay, it's not meant to be. That's the whole point. You have to get to a point where these mandati eat it. You get stabbed to sit there and say, hey, speak up, wake up. That's to increase desire. What do you think happens when you have these situations in life? It's to increase desire because it's natural for us to say, you know I'm comfortable this way. But now, I'm a sudden you're getting stabbed in the middle of New York. It's time to wake up a little bit. You can't just say, okay, big deal. So the whole purpose of rejection, the whole purpose of things happening in our lives, that are the setbacks. That's why the setbacks are the greatest place to build vessels. The setbacks are the greatest place to build vessels. It's because that's a place of a raw desire when you see an all-star. And he gets hurt and he walks out of the field. He's got nothing but desire. That's all he has. There's nothing else that he has. He's hurt, he can't play, but his desire can make the reality of how he comes back. And you see the greatest sports players. When they had setbacks, how they handled their injuries and how they handled the setback. Or you see sports starts at loss. You see boxers at loss. It's the desire. It's the pullback, really. It's not, and according to the pullback, is the light that comes out, out of it. So you say, here, when we go to Ouman, we don't expect to get on a private plane and land on Ouman. It's nothing but waiting headaches, cancellations. This problem, brackets, your whole interventions from family telling you're going to a war zone, signing over family wills. I mean, it's a whole, he used to become a flight. Now it becomes a whole, you need an attorney, you need a will attorney, a state attorney. It's a whole different story than that to go to Ouman. And the tickets and blah, blah, blah, it's the whole thing. Because everybody's supposed to add something I meant to be. My wife said no. I told my ticket, okay, so go ahead. You were meant to be. That means they tested you to see if you really want to be. So this is where if you want, if you want the excuse, you're going to get the excuse. If you want to start making adjustments, that's a whole different story. That's a whole different story. But you need to understand that this is your life. And a court and the price that you're going to pay for regret is going to be worse than the obstacle. So you need to understand there's no easy way here. That means in Egypt, there's no easy way. Don't think like, well, if I don't put the effort on the front, I'll be okay. I'll just be comfortable. Then you're going to see everybody else passing by your life. You see what the hell did I have? What happened to me? Why was it more aggressive in those areas? Why did I give up so easily? So if you think the price of not trying hard is not, wait till you get the tap for regret. Wait till you get the tap for regret and the hand you're a bill. You know, you could have done this. You could have done that. You could have done this. And you didn't do it. That's the price for being stuck in Egypt. So don't think, people think, okay, so I'll be okay. Think about the price you're going to pay for regret. You know, I regret it fooling around, missing my wife up. I regret it doing this and look what happens in my life. That's the worst price you want to pay. Better to pay it up front than paid in the back. Then paid in the back. What did I do in my life in 15 years and rehab centers? Because I couldn't focus back and forth and back and forth like a yo-yo all day long. What did I do in my life? That's where you have to wake up and you have to take a sense of urgency. That means as long as you have the desire, heaven will help you. Now, what's stopping you from hitting the desire? It's two things. It's impulsiveness. How easily you get distracted. And delay. So if you look at impulsiveness, number one is the eights of our. Today, there's more impulsiveness today than you couldn't imagine. There's nothing but impuls- everything's impulsive. Everything's impulsiveness, delays, every five seconds you're checking your phone. All of this is, you know what Paolo did? He says, "Make sure they're very busy." Make sure they're busy because God forbid they're going to be focused. They're going to leave Egypt. As long as you're busy, I'm busy, busy, busy. No, I'm busy. I'm too busy to pray. Too busy. I don't have time. Time what? You're four hours of scrolling. So if you need to understand how the impulsiveness is not something you should laugh about, I made the deed. No, that's a problem. Because if you're impulsive, you're not hitting your mission. And this is one of the things I had to write my book in Japan for God's sake. Because if I was realizing, if I kept on getting distracted, I was writing the book. It was the distractions that were not letting me read the book. I had to write this book. I had to focus like I couldn't imagine. To wake up in certain hour. I had to minimum five pages today, no matter what. I had to force myself to do it. It was forced- otherwise it would have not happened. But to get to that goal, you could see. I had to increase the value of the book to see how much I really wanted to write a book. Do I really want a book? Or do I really care about it? Before, it wasn't a big deal. So it didn't get that. And then I had to- now I realized, okay, do what I do it. Here comes the mountain of obstacles in front of me. And what's stopping me, my impulsivity, and the delay. Now, why do we delay things? We delay things out of fear, if you think about something. You need to understand that the Yates of Horror gives you a certain amount of time to do a job. After you delay too much, the motivation's gone. I think Mel Robbins should go to five second rule. That if when you have an idea of inspiration, when you have Hachma in your brain, when you have an idea from upstairs and having to take something, if you don't take action with it within five seconds, your brain will kill the idea. Your brain will kill the idea. That means if you don't get up on the first alarm clock, it's a good chance you're going to smooth- snooze four times. It's- you have to understand there's a certain rule that as long as you let too much, that's it. That means our stages tell us. You have to kill- you want to kill the even inclination, you have to kill them with it, you have to kill the face- you drop the- kill the face off. If you don't kill them in the face, he's going to bite you in the heel. If you're not killing in the face, your automatically getting a bit in the heel. So you need to understand that the delay- how do you kill the delay? How do- where does fear live? Fear lives on time. Fear lives on time. Right? We're- we're- we're master procrastinators. We always push off to the end, but you need to understand that how does fear get- survive on time. When you make a decision, you're free. Whether it's the right decision or the wrong decision, at least you're in the process of breaking the vessels and getting to it. But once you're in indecision, you got a problem because who's- who's running your life? Fear. Fear tells you the delay. The delay. The delay. The delay. So if you look at how impulsive and how much you delay is stopping you from tomorrow, that's stopping you. So you could see today, the impulsivity in the delay is exactly the tactic of today. Nothing's good enough, it has to be perfect. If you're missing out, fear not being good enough. Fear of- it's good- everything's good enough. But today is because the ego wants to look good, so it has to be perfect. So what happens is never gets done. Fear of not good enough. Okay, I need the delay. Fear, how do I know it's the right person? Okay, everything's- you have to make it into the right person. Everything has to be made into it. It's not- nothing comes as it's life. It was- we're here to do it. We're here for a teakoon process. We're not here to- to get everything ready and come in here with two things.
brushes and say thank you God it's not the way it's supposed to this is not an expectation the world this is a world of action a lot of action but you need to understand these two goals so I told this guy if you're not going to sit there and starve your distractions because remember in order for me to feed an appetite I have to I have to starve my distractions I have if I want to enjoy a meal tonight at eight o'clock a night I have to I have to be careful what I eat today I can't have a big meal I can have a small I can have a drink but if I want to enjoy that meal at eight o'clock a night I I have to limit my the way I eat and what I think about what I focus and what I eat today otherwise the appetite for the eight o'clock meal is not going to be there and the story so the same thing if you want to get married and you're sitting there with all these other girls and you're not focused it's not coming to you because there's no appetite there's no appetite the distraction is going to get you away from the it's taking away from your value and that's really the formula here now what are we supposed to do and I told the guy very simple and I I needed to shock him because he was too comfortable so let me ask you question you're 33 right now I'm here another 10 years you're gonna be 43 you're gonna ask me the same question how you gonna feel what are you gonna do in 10 years with your same formula you're gonna come up to me with the same question what are you how are you gonna feel in 10 years doing the same exact thing going through the same single thing going to the same thing back and forth how are you gonna feel this is I would feel terrible about it I would feel terrible how much pain would you feel from one to 10 I would feel 10 so anytime you get distracted put that level 10 pain in the distraction that's the key that's called the dickens method dickens method is now you start thinking about what would happen to mean 10 years if I continue doing these the same thing what would my life look like you know imagine they gave you you know trophy most minutes on Instagram how would that look like imagine you you got you got nominated for most entertainment of the year you you entertain yourself the greatest entertainment you get the goal cup what people look at you lucky what happens you're done what did you get done so you have to now you that's what you want to use pain for pain pain has an incredible purpose to it pain is I don't want to be like this there's no way I want to do this right there's no way imagine okay take out four five days of the gym a week of the gym a month of the day okay imagine yourself having 40 more pounds 50 more pounds of walking around with 40 more pounds 50 pounds low self esteem just imagine what that looks like before you decide to self do you want to go to the gym or not and that right away gets you into the into the interaction it scares you in a good way because it now it makes you focus increases value right now my value is not the same because the reason why I'm comfortable is because I decrease my value you know sometimes I don't have the head head to go to his boat to do it but I said what happens to me five days when I don't do his boat to do I turn into a monster so I don't want to be a monster go to his boat to do let it out so I always use pain not in it not and that's what you pain is very good if you if you know it's because it wakes you up and say hey what am I doing with this pain and how do I use pain for leverage how do I use pain for leverage you know stand and how do I use pain the right way you know the same thing why do people call time out you watch sports the time out the we're not hungry enough for this win we're getting out I'll be time out refocus increase the value right and increase the your desire to win the what do you think a time out is for to talk about the news to talk about the weather what they're eating tonight what do you think people call time out for life I don't see what do they call the time out tour would you do today would you do tomorrow it's a sense of urgency guys the value is not there and the insidencies not there wake up figure out what where this focus needs to be and then put the energy there because there's nothing as great as the level of desire heaven they want your desire that's why we're always held back from something where held back from something not because God is stingy where held back because this obstacle is bigger than you think and the worst thing in life is not wanting what God wants that's the that's the person from the Balsalaam says is that the biggest cause of of sadness is not wanting what God wants God wants you to have the greatest possible pleasure in the world that you will praise because remember according to the level of pleasure that we get is the level of praise you agree the the amount of praise that you get let's say you get he you get 10% heal 20% healed okay you're gonna have a very small thank gratitude to God but let's say you're a hundred percent healed or ninety percent healed the amount of pleasure you're gonna give God is so much greater and that's the purpose of his creation is so we can recognize his kindness and his mercy in this world but when we show up with no big deal then that's the problem so this is where why Rev. Nachlan is why we're come so connected to Rev. Nachlan's teachings it's because this it's a fire it's either you're running a returning crashing or running but there's always action happening you got me you're either running to light or you're crashing and then you're picking up yourself it's constantly picking up okay fall I fell picking up who cares if you felt 10 times you look at the look at the amount of desire you have in this obstacle look at look at it look at the vessels you're building in stand so there's it's very animated and very emotional and very dramatic Rev. Nachlan's teachings there's a lot of drama there but the drama is what God wants he wants a relationship from you he doesn't want coldness it doesn't want you to too much coldness so he needs the drama the relationship he wants you to convince him he wants you to convince him on how to plead with him that's the level of desire and when you look at what people will do you know look at tell people do me a favor wake up three o'clock in the morning on on a random on a random Friday right now you're crazy tell him it's black Friday wow holy crap wow people that haven't gotten up from comas wake up so they can get a TV 50 $50 you understand how in the world can you get how in the world can you get these kind of people on on a black Friday how in the world are they ha people haven't woke up like that in years oh to save 200 on TV I'm there so it's not a lack of desire it's a lack of value what do you value oh black Friday that's the greatest thing in the world I was watching my my building how many people came took took flights my building I'm the only person that at six o'clock in the morning I'm the only one there nobody's there it's dark the the Argentina all of a sudden the everything's packed the elevators are packed there's a hundred cars there where you guys going oh go to the game I haven't seen these people ever at six o'clock in the morning but for for Argentina where they're at six o'clock in the morning tell your kids you're going to go on a vacation all of a sudden before the time no problem they're packed ready to go so it's not that we don't have desire it's we have this selective desire and that's the problem it's a selective desire when you want something you'll get it done because you have infinite desire with you but when you don't want to get something it's because either you're procrastinating or you're delaying means you don't really want to so Rabbi Roush would always say don't say you can't say I don't want to I don't want to you know we say I can't I can't find good points in this person right I can't find it no you don't want to find good points in this person don't say the word you can't you say I don't want to I don't I can't pray no no you don't want to that's a more realistic approach now why don't you want to it's a whole different story that's a whole different story why don't you or maybe I don't believe in it so it's either this is why it's very very important you want to get to when you want to get something you know you start a learning about peptides and says the more you have faith and the more you learn about something the more the value increases if you don't learn about it then the value is not going to increase so sometimes we need to go back to learning about something increasing its value and then you're increases the appetite to do it but if you think you're not going to learn and you're just going to have somebody motivate you and and why things are not happening you're blaming God that's again that's your fault that's your fault that we're God God wants to give you everything but the mechanism of Keter is desire and this is why we're always held back held back push back push back push getting push back in life is something you need to get under you have to understand it's so important because we are going to always do the infinite light we always want to go to the infinite light and we can't get there because we're very finite so we can only get the infinite light in very minor doses we can we can have a prayer where we feel you know five minutes of of connection and then right away we're we're hit back with it because you can maintain that that light for too long now as we go into those experiences you have to draw down the light from those experiences and then and when you draw the light the light from those experiences it stays with you it stays with you I can remember every single high high experience I've had I can remember like like it was yesterday why so I can go back to that experience and know how it feels like when I'm not there so it's very important we have to have those high experiences but those experience are to be running with returning you're not supposed to experience those experiences too long that's why people when they're doing too much drugs and that's not the answer by the way this is supposed to be a running in return not Medicaid myself to get there and hang out there that should be my permanent state that's the misuse of that's why drugs is such a problem because you want to get high but you're getting there without doing the inner work to get there so we so so we have to honestly look at anything you do remember number one you have to believe that God wants to give you the greatest the greatest possible pleasure in the world you have to believe that and not believing that is why we're not putting the effort second you have to you have to have a better definition of a setback what does the setback mean you know a setback means and I need to increase desire not I need to go watch porn
not I need to go and entertain myself. That is not the time you use a setback the right way. That's not the time. A setback should say, hey, I just got rejected. What am I going to do about it? I just got rejected from a job. Am I going to change my desire? Am I going to refocus? I'm going to stop being tried. What am I going to do with it? The rejection is great. What are you going to do with it? That's tofu. That's to get you in a sense of urgency. Instead of saying, I got rejected, blame the person who rejected you, and check out of life and lose your self-esteem. That's what 99% of people do. That's called the victim mindset. Hashem is telling us, oh, I'm not telling you opposite. The whole purpose of the rejection is so you increase desire. We don't need to wake up to stabbing in New York or to headaches all the time to say, okay, guys, it's time to get together now and focus on unity. I mean, how about stupidity? This stupidity happens over and over again. You always have to wait for bad things to happen. You don't have enough desire yourself. You should be screaming like this. Regardless. Regardless. You have to wait for your doctor until you got diabetes and you can start walking. Seriously? This is the point where we've gotten. This is where when you get to a point of too much wake up calls, then the desire comes from above. You don't want the desire from above because that means it's going to be a problem. That means it's a wake up call. You don't want the desires from above. You want the desires from below. That's what you want. We want to do the desire. I mean, I want to ask Hashem for humility not have somebody humble me. If I ask Hashem for humility, I don't need somebody to humble me. I know it. I have the issue. I want to be able to take that. I want to tell Hashem, listen, I'm struggling with prayer. I can't speak words. I don't need him to have a capital, a trauma in my life to wake me up and say, okay, now I need to pray, I guess. We don't want to get to that point. That's only in a way where your soul has to wake you up because you're not doing anything about it. But it's very, very important. If you're not connected to desire, now, if you can't increase your confidence in what you need to do is you need to, let's say you lost your confidence. You don't have that. So break it up into smaller goals. Because time's writing my book, I mean, I haven't had to even write a page. So you know what, let me break it up into smaller goals. Let me do one a week. So we can always, anytime something is not working, you could always write it right away, make it seem so. You know what, I don't have the head to pray, but I could do five minutes a day. So it's better to get, it's better to break the vessel, start small and get momentum again. Then to say, this goal is too big for me. Always break the vessel. You're dealing with a difficult person in your life, okay? Again, if you need any numbers, I have plenty for you guys. If you need it, we could send you. Okay. So you can kill them with kindness. You know what, I'm going to have five comments to that person today. Five comments. I can't deal with it too much about that. You know what, I can think of five things I could say, good about them. How about the fact that they're getting you closer to God? Could you think about that one? If you had easy people in your life, they're not getting you closer to God. They're good for vacations, but they're not good for getting you closer to God. That's for sure. So think about problematic people in your life. How much of this person get me up in the morning with a sense of urgency? If you think about that, think about that. Think about that concept. How much did that person imagine Argentina the next day losing that game? You know, think about it. That's major chuva they did. They would play hard enough for what we're doing in the big four years you have a game like this. They would put enough effort. They would put enough desire. How did we get on beat? You know what I mean? That's the energy of the chuva. How in the world did we get to this point and we didn't have enough energy in ourselves? What did we do? You got me? That is proper. And what are we going to do about it? How much can we increase our desire versus where you just take everything so personal? That's in heaven where they can't. That's in heaven. And this is exactly where, how can I shut up? Puts us in situations in our life. He tells you, you got to go to Arity's throughout. No, I need to see it to believe it. So you don't trust in God. You want too much certainty and guarantee. It doesn't exist. This is not. This is if you, if you, anything spiritual, you're not getting any guarantees. Because God wants you to trust in Him. There's no guarantees. There's going to be always a situation in your life where you're going to feel if I don't have God helps me. I have no, I have no shot. You're always going to be in that situation in your life. If God doesn't help me, I don't even know how it's possible. Where will my help come from? I have absolutely no idea. Then you are helped. So don't think, don't get into situations. I need too much control and certainty because it doesn't exist. It doesn't exist because if you had it, then why would you need God? And why would you have desire to pray? How comfortable are we when we pray and when everything's certain? We're not. It's not there. It's not there. It's only where things are completely chaotic in your life. And you have to lean on your creator to increase desire so he can increase the vessel. That's the whole point of, I never go to Umain and say, wow, I'm getting screwed going to Umain with all these obstacles. I can't believe I got such bad luck. What bad luck I have going to Umain and have all these obstacles and cancel flights. I never say that. Say, wow, this year is going to be the greatest year ever. I've never gone through so much weightiness. I never would say something bad about it because I know. What do you think you're going to Umain for? You're going there to increase desire. But why are we not treating the same thing as the same thing as everything else? If you believe God is doing good, why are we not treating it? It's because we have a year to hire. The distracts us and tells us this is bad and why are you going through this? And the thing is after the pity party is over, you still have to do the inner work. You got it? You're going to deal with the petty party regardless. We all have to go through the pity party. You take two days of the pity party. But that's all just venting and venting and venting at the end of the day. You have to wake up. Okay, what am I going to do about it? So what I'm trying to tell you is take the pity party and just make it a half an hour pity party. Go celebrate with all your pity party friends. Make a whole, make a whole complaining fast, let it out, vent. But then you got to get back on that. You got to get back on the thing because that problem is not going away by itself. It is not going away by itself. It needs your desire or increasing your value in that situation. And this is what Kabbalah tells us is the energy of Toho. The energy of Toho is chaos. And chaos is because you didn't have a sense of urgency before. That's the bottom line. You didn't have a sense of urgency. You didn't value something enough. It's going to come to you. Imagine if we all valued to have unity with each other and we all prayed for each other. We wouldn't have all, we wouldn't have half of these situations. Mayors like Mandati wouldn't even exist. Mayors like Mandati wouldn't exist. Half of the enemies would not even exist. They wouldn't even exist. But we created them to exist because we need wake up calls. And that's why we are, say, just tell us. You need to pray that your enemy should be your friends. How are they my friends? Because they got me focused and they reignited something that they didn't have. So all of these people, all these enemies are your friends, really. Are your unconscious friends, your conscious enemies, but they're your unconscious friends? Because they're creating, waking you up with a sense of urgency. They're getting you to come and listen to classes. They're getting on top of your gate. That's actually the thing. That's why you shouldn't hate your enemies the end of the day. So the whole purpose was to increase desire because you didn't increase desire yourself through your expectancy. When you say I hate this ghost, you rejected me. No, what are you talking about? You rejected yourself. She's just a mirror. She's the mirror of you. She's the story. She's your mirror. And then you got to take a sense of urgency and say, what am I doing with this? That's what we all have. It's inside of us. It's when we give up and we get too distracted and we start delaying things. Everything's delay, procrastination. It's not for me. I have to think about it with the same brain that got you into the problem. You have to be more focused. If we want results, we have to understand. Look at whatever is bothering in your life that you're struggling with. It's like this my second book completely lost my head for it. I don't have the head for it. Not that I'm not dealing with enough issues. But unless I change my attitude towards a second book, it's not getting done. It's not getting done by itself. Bottom line, I know it's not getting done by itself. When do I want to increase the value? When do I, again, there's a time for everything. But unless I change my mindset, that book is not getting done. It's not doing the book. There's nothing to do with the book. It has to do with my mindset towards the book. You same thing. Zivou, Nair, business, etc. Charity, it's not getting done by itself. Nothing is getting done by itself. So stop waiting. Stop waiting and waiting for things to change. That is the worst thing in the world. The flight you never booked a ticket. What are you waiting for? You never even booked a ticket. So this is where look at the things in your life and look at it. Five more years like this, how would I feel? How would I feel for another five more years like this? That should bother the hell out of you. And then you should say there's no way I'm going through this. I got to take action. Five more years of being lazy. How is my life going to look like? No way in hell. No way in hell. Use pain for a good reason. the energy to the whole world.
focus where you need to focus and that's where I've thrived the best when I've had the setbacks because I said this is a setback that means there's a lot of light here there's no way I don't look at it as I'm getting punished I don't look at it if there's this much amount of setbacks the upside must be so crazy get excited about the upside that's how I focus up get excited about the upside and that's the biggest shift in my in that I've seen the biggest result in my life is how you handle the setbacks and what you're added to it's and getting excited because if there's that that much of a pullback there's a huge upside versus the pullback I tried it didn't work I don't have to head forward blah blah and go go to the the the the first option of entertainment which is what I guess the whole world does and this is why the results so there's results there's there's not enough desire so sometimes we have to go to places like uman you have to go to places like you have to be a hungry environment sometimes to to to to to to learn that because it's not given to you here we're not we're not we're not we're not we're not learning this and I've got to start learning environments you know when you watch you know Holocaust movies that ignites a little bit something inside of you you know those movies they take something out of you it it takes you know where am I focusing on lately you know wakes you up pain pierces the ego so miss Rath Hashem use this for any effort imagine you have a hard time giving charity and you know without charity you're very limited in what you're gonna make mine and mine and you think charity is is is is giving it away it's imagine charity as that's your obstacle in the past life you were the cheapest guy in the world you have to come back now to give charity that's what it is we come back to fix so whatever is difficult for you you probably were the opposite person and you came here just to fix this and this is where it will why do we always rather usual always say say thank you for your problems they thank you for because that's the problem that's getting you closest to God and the goal is to get closest to God that's why we say thank you for their problems right we don't say that we're getting these things randomly we're getting them because this is designed for my greatest connection with God and if it wasn't for this situation my life I would not have this connection to God right now I would not have the sense of version I would not have a desire to change because if you don't have desire we lose everything God bless everybody
Podcast Summary
Key Points:
Heaven purposely places obstacles in your life, and the reward is proportional to the difficulty of the obstacle.
Over-analyzing how you got your problems is less important than focusing on how to overcome them.
Your desire must be greater than the obstacle—your "why" must outweigh the "how."
Value and faith (expectancy) are the two key drivers of achieving goals; low value or low faith leads to failure.
Impulsiveness and delay are the main distractions that prevent you from hitting your goals.
Setbacks and challenges are designed to increase your desire, not to discourage you.
Regret for not trying is a worse price to pay than the effort required to overcome obstacles.
Summary:
FAQs
Your desire must be greater than the obstacle, and your 'why' must be greater than the 'how.' If your desire and value for the goal exceed the difficulty, you will succeed.
Heaven purposely places obstacles in front of you to increase your desire and reward. The obstacle's size corresponds to the greatness of the reward you can achieve.
Expectancy (faith and confidence that something will happen) and value (how much you desire it). Without both, you stay stuck like the Jews in Egypt.
Impulsiveness (getting easily distracted) and delay (procrastination out of fear). These kill motivation and prevent focus.
Instead of seeing it as a burden, get excited about what your life will look like after you overcome it. Focus on the transformation and growth on the other side.
It states that urgency depends on the value you assign to a goal. High value creates high desire and effort, while low value leads to minimal effort and results.
