The Monday M.A.S.S. With Chris Coté and Todd Richards, May 11, 2026
79m 0s
The Monday Mass podcast, hosted by Chris Cote and Todd Richards, celebrates its airing on Fuel TV with a casual, humorous tone. They thank sponsors like Turtle Box (speakers), Made By Dentists (oral care), Sun Bum (sunscreen), and Bachan's (sauce), blending product plugs with banter about DJing, dermatology visits, and cooking. Upcoming events include the Carve Expo in San Diego and a Sunbender concert. Show-and-tell features custom stickers and a retro Surfing Magazine issue, evoking nostalgia. In surf news, a feel-good story emerges from Maui: a man named Igor threw a rock at an endangered monk seal named Lonnie, missing narrowly; a local vigilante beat him, and authorities are shielding the attacker's identity, sparking debate on frontier justice. Another segment covers Dylan Graves and Anthony Walsh surfing a perilous tidal wave in Australia's Kimberly region, where Walsh endured a 38-second hold-down, described as terrifying. Finally, Stab reports that Zeke was briefly hired by the WSL for event coverage but fired within a day for asking pro surfers inappropriate questions about sex. The episode blends action sports culture with irreverent commentary and sponsor integration.
The Monday, M-A-S-S, an action sports podcast about nothing. The, the Monday, M-A-S-S, and it was a sports podcast about it. So, thanks. What's up, everybody? Welcome to another episode of the world's greatest action sports podcast. I'm talking about the Monday Mass with Chris Cote. I'm Todd Richards, and we are here. We are here at Monday Mass HQ. It is Monday, May 11th, and we want to tell you all a promise. I'll do a better job. If you're watching us right now on your big screen television, you might be watching us on a fuel TV. That's right. That's right. So, fuel TV is going to be airing episodes of the Monday Mass every single week, probably on Monday nights. You know how we work and fuel as just given us carte blanche to do whatever the hell we want. They're going to air whatever we put out, even if there's a child that we're going to have as many sounds as we can get. Yeah. Our natural environment. And we're in the city. So we are, we're going to do a show for you. This is our 5,785th episode. And this show, we also have a script. It's this is new. I got up this shows you how much how serious we're taking this. And you know what Todd? I think to back up a truck guys. Why don't know the people at home quite hear that as much as we hear it because we have really good hearing. You know what Todd? Since we can go like this now, we'll probably be doing that quite a bit. This show known as the World's Greatest Action Sports Podcast is presented by some dear friends of ours and sponsors of ours, including Turtle Box at Turtle Box. Now Todd, you don't have the Turtle Box boom box, right? Yeah, the big one. So I just DJ to party with a system, you know, a full PA system. And I honestly think that I could DJ a party at a medium sized restaurant or bar with the Turtle Box boom box. You're kind of an idiot. You're a medium sized DJ. I think I'm going to do it. And I know that Turtle Box can handle it. Turtle Box can handle anything indoors, outdoors, throw them off a frickin cliff into the ocean. Can I ask you to handle it? Can I ask you a question as you being a DJ? Is this in regards to Turtle Box? Sure. In a roundabout way. Yeah. Like when you're DJ, do you ever take any consideration that you're probably playing the music too loud because you're behind the speakers? Yeah. I basically just have all for myself. Nobody wants to hear it. I don't care what if you're DJing a brunch. Oh, yeah. I've done that. I've done that. Or a cozy restaurant. I've done that. You're DJing too loud. Well, okay. So here's the thing. I actually take care to when I put on a record or when I go out there, I go, I walk out into the crowd and I know like, look, if I'm DJing a spot like the belly up or it's a dance party, then you can be blasted. If I'm DJing, let's say Lulu, this is the local spot hamburger hut. When I'm DJing to people eating hamburgers, I'm aware because people want to talk. I'm aware. They don't wear. They want to be on a date. They want to talk. Right. So I keep it at a, you know, a good medium level. Do you keep the music at a medium pace? Yeah. I have completely different sets for different vibes. I know what I'm doing. Todd, I keep getting asked back. All right. Made by dentists at made by dentists. We have been partnered up with made by dentists for just a month or so now my teeth already feeling better. Todd, this is the best right here made by dentists. They make toothpaste. They make powder. Look at this. This is the good stuff right here. Teeth whitening. I'm definitely Todd. You may notice Todd's teeth are getting wider by the minute. That's because he's using that made by dentists. Your breath stinks. You should probably brush and if you send a great question, you will be winning an awesome made by dentists package. So the best question will win a package by made by dentists last week. It was branded. We'll see who wins it this week because we do have some great questions. Also, sun bum. It is sun bum season and Mother's Day was beautiful down here in Southern California or up here wherever you're listening from and Todd, I slathered up and I saved myself a sunburn. Thank you, sun bum. I went to the derma right after our right after the show this week and I was scared. Were you new and make you freak out? And I'm starting to feel like the dermatologists. Oh man. It's kind of like one of those things when they come in and they are just they're already like they're sharpening their scalpel as they come in like let's get let's get some stuff. How did it go? Did you get anything? Five stars. See, this is what happens when you're sponsored by a company as good as sun bum. You go to the derma and they say, you not only have no no no stuff for us to cut off, but you also look incredible near the derma. Put your clothes back on. You looked between my butt cheeks. Yeah. That's normal. Yeah. Okay. Have you been sending your perennium? He also sent me flowers. Yeah. Anyway, thank you sun bum for protecting Todd's body and mine as well. Yep. And all the millions of people out there are sun bum enthusiasts. We got butt chons, Japanese barbecue sauce. If you don't try the new spicy sesame, you're seriously blowing it. What's the spice level on that? It's like a six like hell of hot is like nine. Okay. Right? This is like a six. Yeah. It's like a tie restaurant when you say give me like a three and it burns your mouth. Oh, it's a proper. This is like a proper six, not like crazy Thai food six. You know, I got to make dinner for my Kelly tonight. It's her birthday. She's requested my now famous, at least in my house, chicken and rice. Just a simple staple. I think you know what made her fall in love with it and me. Batchons. Just a classic botchons. And I do this at the last the finishing touch on my chicken rice. So thank you, botchons. Uh, yeah. Like I said, we're now on field TV. If you're in the San Diego area and you want to meet up with all the bros and you know, the ladies and the action sports world. That would be it. The ladies of the action sports world. Oh my god. That would be like a panel. They're all going to be at carve expo. That's right. The tempo is a physical gathering of surf industry, skate industry, snow industry types. This is going to be at the San Diego Convention Center downtown San Diego this Thursday and Friday. Uh, what is the date on this Thursday? 14th and 15th or 15th and the 16th. And if you're working on your, you're trying to work on your social anxiety that you have kind of, it's a kind of like a holdover. You want to fix it from COVID? Go and, go and press. Go press the flash. Go get in people's faces. It's going to be rad. There's going to, there's no hunt of virus. Even though the cruise ships dock very close, there is no hunt of virus. That's what we've been told. Yeah. It's HV free. HV free. Although carve expo, the industry could probably use another pandemic. We could probably use, I mean, we could probably use one because it was good, good for business for your personal brand. You're from my personal brand. Well, carve expo is in San Diego. It's going to be the 14th and 15th Thursday and Friday, depending on when you're watching it, you might have missed it. But if you didn't miss it, we saw you there. Does that make sense? No. Okay. Sunbender. One of the greatest bands in this office is playing at breakers with family and friends on May 29th. And breakers owned and operated by the one and only Benji Weatherly. I bet some great shows there in the past. This one could be okay. Might be fun. We're going to play a cut to the quick for you. Todd. We're going to relearn some of our old hits or fans like Todd. And before we get into surf news, I got some show and tell for you Todd. Pretty cool. So you may have seen these popping up around town. We got the classic big dog. Listen to Monday mass. These are from diecutstickers.com and the new favorite. That's right. The nurse in his patient. That's a nurse. Yeah. This is a. This is it. This is it. This is it. This is a very popular. It's really comfortable. I need to have some of these. We got a stack. Thank you to our people at diecutstickers.com. It is amazing what you can do. Look at how detailed this sticker is. Very detailed. Wild. I got. I spent like a half an hour in the shading over. You did a great job. Here's another piece of show and tell which will get us into surf news. This, friends, is a physical magazine. You know what the crazy thing is? Look at that. I have it in my hands. You're holding it. I'm holding it. It has a, it has a cover that is done by Thomas Campbell. And that's Jack Johnson in the barrel. Okay. So we're, there's very heavy 99, 2000 vibes here. Right. Yeah. And then you turn it over and it's the quick silver young guns, not a font. Circa early 2000s late 90s. This is like a throwback. So they just have this font left over. No, not us. Or he's still doing it again. Wow. Yeah, we got not us back and quick silver. You felt we didn't. Well, if I, you know, I'm taking a flip through this. It's feeling good. I had to bring it into mass HQ. There's Jones on Florence. We got what this is. This is just there's some really cool. So nice to have a magazine. Yeah, it's this. So I needed to bring this in first to show you guys a show Todd. Now it's going to my restroom. And then no one's going to want to read it anymore. It's just for me. So this is a physical copy of surf from magazine. This one.
This is almost as good as trans-willed surf. This is close. But we don't have trans-willed surf anymore, so you're going to have to get this. No, this is a really good issue. So good job, people at Surfing Magazine. Surf News is brought to you by VAS supplies at VAS supplies taught. I got myself a new VAS supplies board bag from my upcoming world travels. That's been nice. El Salvador, Brazil, and a secret destination. I'm taking my son on his very first ever surf trip, so he's going to get his own bag. Well, it's not a secret. He doesn't, we're not telling him where he's going yet. Oh, like I said, is he, you're going somewhere warm? Is he good here regularly? He's regular. Going somewhere warm. He's going to be right in the left. When he's mostly left. When he's gone. I'm dad's a goofy. When are you going? This is going to be July. His birthday's in July. I'm free. Yeah. I'm sure you are. Anyway, VAS supplies provided the board bag and they provided the traction. They provided Todd's traction. Todd, are you back in the water yet? Yeah, actually big news. Oh, yes. Break it off. I'm not surfing, but I, on Saturday was the first day that I paddled. So I just, I just paddle out. Okay. I'm ducked. I have a few waves. Get to the outside. And then basically paddle like a quarter mile. Okay. Then come into the beach and then run down the beach and then go back out. I do it twice. I've taken this very seriously. I don't want, I don't want this to, I probably could surf right now. I just don't want to bite me in the boat. Don't rush it. No, don't rush it. Don't rush it. We got a lot. There's a lot left. All right. So we've got a, a, a feel good story. This is a story of a man named Igor. This is a story of a man named Igor who is the ultimate. I want you to say. I want you to say his last name. Igor Litvin Cook. Litvin Nuck. Anyway, this sociopathic mother effort. This is the guy that was on a walk in beautiful Maui. He's in the hyena. Okay. He's on a walk with his lady. Later look for him. Good looking. Anyway, she's bad taste in men because out of nowhere, Igor picks up a rock the size of a coconut. He sees a beautiful endangered monk seal, named Lonnie, a beloved local. Oh, the seal. The seal had a name named Lonnie, all the locals. Everyone in white, they, everyone in mountain. You know, they know this. They watch over it. So that this is why so you know, he was harassing the seal. Somebody starts filming out of, you know, he picks up the rocky throws it and buy the grace of the creator. It misses the seal by the millimeter and the size of Igor's penis, it missed the seal. Okay. This big. So the seal would have killed, would have been killed. So anyway, they call the police. The police get involved. When they sit him down, he says, I'll pay the fine. I'm rich. And this is just insult to injury. So just like in the movie, North Shore, the vigilante justice, you go calling get some lick and Igor, but absolutely pounded by a heroic local. And another amazing aspect of this is the mayor, the police, you know, city officials, everybody involved. They're like, we don't know who this guy is who beat up Igor. We can't find him. And meanwhile they're hailing him as a hero. And he is because I almost think that I would, I almost rather see him like throw a rock at a human and miss that an animal, especially a endangered animal. This opens up a whole can of worms. Is he got opened up a can of whoop ass on him? Is frontaire justice justified? You know, I don't, you know, me, I don't condone violence, but in this case, I'm going to put a person like, you know, this is the type of guy who would kick a dog. I'm going to put your feet to the coast. Do it. Do it. Let's just say, okay, Igor throws a rock near your kid at your kid. Oh, yeah, pounded. Right. But like, I feel like it's really weird that we live in a weird time. Okay. Well, I'm all for this. I'm like, look, you're supposed to be devils after you make the conscious decision to do something really dumb. Yep. Like we take this back to the eighties where you get your ass beat. Mm-hmm. Like it, but it's, I feel like if it was a person, some, the dude that fought Igor would probably be arrested. Like there wouldn't be this whole like, I don't know what happened. Something must have happened to his father. You think? Yes, dude. Weird because I'm all, I mean, I'm like, look, you fuck up like that. Yeah. And someone videos you and you're doing something malicious and you get immediate physical karma. Yeah. Sorry. Sorry, bro. Igor's face got fisted Hawaiian style. Anyway, I think it's great. I applaud. I applaud it. What a feel good story. Yeah. And he's also getting his businesses trolled online. He's most likely going to get paid like a $50,000 fine. He's not worried. He's rich. Hopefully a six months in jail. He's not, he's rich. And, and, and, you know, the, Hawaiians, they have a great point. Like there needs to be, because this keeps happening, right? Seals and turtles and local wildlife getting harassed by howlies. Mm-hmm. Not just howlies, but tourists from all over. Like if you're a six year old kid. Yeah. Like I, look, if you're six, okay. And you throw rocks at frogs or turtles or, you know, seals. Like you can kind of be like, okay, well, you're just a dumb six year old. Well, you throw a rock at the six year old. Not a big rock. However big a rock, the kid threw at the animal grown up. Get out. Get out there in the water. I'm throwing. Maybe that's the way. Well, you could throw a rock at the parents. First of all, okay. First rock, it's thrown at the parents. I don't think there's any excuse for, you know, so what I was saying was the Hawaiian say, like, look on flights over. There needs to be, because the signs don't work. You know, the rope, courting off the area on the beach doesn't work. These idiots just go up and do it. They do it down in La Jolla. People want to touch things. Yeah. There was a family. They, you know, I think they're a Chinese family. There was down there. Maybe they didn't read the signs or, you know, like whatever or understand them, but the kids were throwing rocks at the seals. They got busted. They got busted. It's just, bro, common sense. Yeah. Right? Common sense. Anyway, Igor is not enjoying, because you know, you come home from a vacation. You need a vacation? Igor needs a vacation after his vacation, because he blew it. He's not having a good time. Well, Dylan Graves and Dylan Graves and Anthony Walsh. I watched this. Went somewhere really gnarly for a really hectic episode of Weird Waves. This, usually, you know, like these title waves or these, you know, where the water rushes out and it creates basically an Eddie title, bore title. Yeah. No, title, bore, upper rivers. This is like an Eddie, right? Like it just like it just forms because of the water. What is it as everyone backs trash day? You know what? We decided to have this podcast on Mondays and it's trash day. So if you did hear beeping, it's Todd's car being towed. And he doesn't even care. Anyways, so they go to this place in Australia. Is it very? Let me explain to you where. Very north. Right? Northwestern corner of Western Australia. It's bounded by the Indian Ocean to the west, the team or sea to the south, the Northern territory to the east and the great Sandian, tsunami deserts to the south. It's called the Kimberly region, the Kimberly region. And it's like it is like as wild and far away as you can get. So first of all, obviously the mouths in the ocean are big there. Oh, yeah, there's big mouths. That's the first thing that I would think of. Snake spiders, they're in the middle of the desert. They take their jetski out to the to the this basically. It's an area of a river mouth or like where the tide would rush out. Yeah. And it's basically like an eddy, but like it's Chopo. It's called they call this this anomaly the boat killer. And when they so I mean, we're fans of all episodes of weird waves, but this one just hit different. This one hit different because they pull up to it. And I got to give a shout out to their guide, Jamie Hornblow. Is that his real name? Jamie Hornblow. Sick. Anyway, so they get out there. The wave is so gnarly that Anthony Walsh goes first. And if you know anything about Anthony Walsh, the dude has been a psycho forever. He's so gnarly. So he rides the wave. They're celebrating. They did do diligence. They went around and looked at it and is like really gnarly. What do you rapids on the back of the wave? So Anthony rides the first wave. He falls on his second wave and he's got to go.
on. He goes underwater and they put a timer on the screen. Solid 35 seconds. 38 seconds. So look, 38 seconds on paper is not a long time. And then you see a lot of these big wave guys can hold their breath for three, four, whatever minutes. But when you have this kind of like, you're like writing a wave and then out of nowhere, you don't expect to get held down. 38 seconds is a long time. Then in the GoPro footage, he's trying to climb his leaf. You can seem like trying to like, terrifying. Then he finally pops to the surface. And then a second later, the board like ejects out of the water. Yeah. So it was like, it was, that's my worst nightmare. Imagine like Dylan seeing that and be like, I gotta go. Yeah. I came all this way. Well, Anthony Wallace told Surfer Magazine, it was like writing a crappy Huntington wave to get down it. And then Chopel was behind it. It's like writing a wave like, yay. And then all of a sudden, you get pounded. So great job guys. I was like a horror movie. But I feel like there's still more to this storage because even just getting there looked insane. Stab reported that a guy Zeke was hired and fired by the WSL in the span of one day. What? So Zeke got hired to cover the, that's faster than my record. Yeah. Zeke got hired to cover the event on the Gold Coast. And I don't know what they expected to do. But of course, Zeke did Zeke stuff and started asking pro surfers about like chicks, boners, you know, all that kind of stuff. Sex. And he got his press pass pulled. They declined his collab request and told him to remove his Instagram edit. Success. Yeah. So, and look, look, this is on stab. We haven't confirmed it was Zeke or not. But I can, I can, I can see why I thought they were entertaining. But, you know, this is a business. So it is in Zeke's YouTube edit his latest one. And it's also, there's probably actually going to be an earlier stuff on Zeke's only fans. Todd, a bunch of, I'm not. Well, what's your password? I want to see Zeke's only fans. You know, there's some, all the, you know, like late 90s, early 2000s, a lot of these starlets from that era are now on only fans starlets, like the really beautiful foreign gal from the American pie movie. She strips in the bedroom in that scene, a famous scene foreign girl. She's not. She's an actress. She has an accent in the movie. Right. She plays a foreign. Yeah. She's on only fans. I just said Jamie Pressley. Remember Jamie Pressley. She's on only fans. And I don't know because I've never seen anything on only fans. I've only heard of it. So please send Todd your password. He'll share it with me and I'll investigate. Just for the show, I'm just going on it for the articles. Is that fair? Okay. So send Todd your password. And I'll borrow it. Stab Hi Virginia Beach. Todd presented by monsters this week May 15th and 16th this weekend. Heets are stacked. Heets are stacked. Todd is on the screen. And I know we have a question about this later, but we'll just answer it right now. Todd, who do you think is going to win? Who do you think is going to win or has a chance of winning and who's your dark horse? And let's just go with the men for now. Well, obviously we've got you have to think about Huey Vaughan who's got the basically the rodeo flips where he's not grabbing with two hands. He's doing them proper lean. Yep. One handed up and over. But Rijay Masuda. Yeah. Rijay's he's like as far as like style goes and like because I'm looking at this strictly from escape order's point of view. Okay. Well, you're a surfer too. You're right. But like Rijay has probably the skatiest air style of anyone that I've ever seen. Yeah. On a surfboard. So the sickest and and I've only really and Pedro and Pedro Barros of course, because it's it's it's a trans transover. But Rijay's got like he was the first person I saw like consciously do tuck his knee on like India airs and stuff. Like and I think we haven't seen much I mean, honestly, we haven't seen much of Rijay outside of the pool. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But I will say in the wave pool, Rijay has the sickest style of any surfer in the air. Would you agree? Yeah. I think that's what you just said. Yeah, I have Kiwi Vaughan and you know what? I'm gonna I'm gonna throw Zeke's name in there because of Zeke. He does crazy stuff. If Zeke can do a couple of his signature tricks, he could put himself in the running. I just know it takes a lot of time to a lot of tries to do like the finger flip. What he had that the the burial three one handed. So if he can throw down one of those tricks in this, that could be huge. Did you see this weekend balleram dropped a clip? It's like a legit late shove it. Yes. I guess this is the first time I think I've seen like someone who actually pops waits a second and then flicks the shove it. If he if he does that trick in the wave pool, I hope the judges understand how hard that is. You would think they would. Who's I don't know who's judging this year. If it's the same crew. I don't know. There's so much down stuff frontside indies. I don't have any faith in the judging. I think roster Rob is going to do great when anyone says what was that? Like you're the credibility is out the window. Like I'm sorry. Like you're there for a reason. Like if you you need to be there and know what's happening, you can't be debating with the dude next to you. What was that? Yeah. I'm just that's just me. I'm a purist. I come from the old stock. I'm going to watch every second of it. I want to say go Nick Marshall. Oh, Nick Marshall's in it. Nick Marshall's in it. I. Okay. So Nick Marshall is insanely underrated. Everybody. I think every every surfer knows how good he is. I potted out with my son at D Street down the beach or down the street. Like last week. It was the afternoon. It was so bad. It was legit like one foot closed out blown out low tide terrible. We're walking down the beach. I see somebody stand up pumped down the line proper front five into the flats. Road out perfect. I'm like, oh my god. Nick Marshall. Nick Marshall is like I can't explain to you when you see him in real life in in bad waves like that. And in good waves. He did it quite shine last time using stab high. But I think this time we could watch something very special. Nick Marshall. So like I said, I mean, I'll be watching. I was never invited. But I'll be watching every second of it. Never invited. I'm going to have to pay to watch it. Is it paid? Is it behind a pay one media? We're media. Can we get a? Who do we call? No, I do actually. I have a stab premium. I just paid for it. First call for the Corona Settled New Zealand Pro is May 15th. And we've been watching or I've been watching some of the warm up sessions at Raglan. It's an interesting wave. So I surfed it around about the size that they're kind of like practicing right now. Everyone everyone's there. Everyone's there like a week early. Put overhead maybe. Yeah. And you can tell that even even some of the best pros goofy, regular, whatever they're confused. It's not an easy way to surf. It's easy. It's an easy way to surf and rip and have fun. But I think competing there is going to catch some people off guard. And then now that has everyone playing fantasy surfing like scratching their heads. What the hell do we do? I feel like that wave to to me, it's got I mean, it's you watch footage of people like Luke Cedarman's a really good person to watch surf. Number one, it's his backyard. And he's as as funny as he is. He's a truly ripping surfer and he's a big frame to surfer. Big bone. He's got a lot of bones. Yeah. And when you watch him surf it, you have to surf the pocket. But then it just flattens out. The way it just goes. And like, you know, turns into a bank. Yeah. And then you got to like be able to do something with that. Yeah. You know, and then it starts to run away from you again. So it's like, yeah, it's going to be interesting. But I think just like I said on on the gold coast, I feel like it's going to be a regular footer. Backside is going to have the advantage. See, I don't know because snapper rocks is a a cupped out bowl and you can get up backside up into the lip and under it and go vertical. Raglan has kind of varying sections. But the best of the best are going to find the sections of course. But I so I guess I agree with you to a certain extent. But I will say that it's going to be a treat. Gentleman's it's going to be should we take a gentleman's on this? Yeah. I was saying a regular foot's going to win it. Okay. I say a goofy foot's going to win it. What's our bet? Five bucks. A burrito. I think that okay. So we have a bet. Now I'm going to be Todd's going to regular. I think what's going to be special and fun for all of us surf fans is to watch Ethan, Katie, Steph, you know the coach
olipinto bras going backside. I think we've seen quite a bit of like, you know, Griffin and Crosby going backside and ripping like lowers left and then like the vlog edits and stuff, but we don't see too often, you know, Ethan, Katie, Steph, some of the best surfers on their backhand enough, especially at a repable wave. It's one thing to see him in a Fiji Troll, but to see them on like a approachable, repable wave, this is going to be a special contest to watch. And I think there for many reasons, but I think that's how they did they hire Luke Sederman to do stuff. I don't know. They might be spooked after the Zeke they have to they have to look, you can't just like, well, he's already banging out content. I know he is, but it's like what time is it the world deserves. Yeah, we should call him. Okay. I'm just going to do a, this is a vessel shipping cold call. And we don't know what time it is, which is even better. And we're just going to try a cold call on a, on a, you know, what is it? Instagram? Yeah. Why not? The Instagram call. I've never used this. Oh, really? No. Wait, what the hell? Go to message. Drag on surf report. Yeah. Okay. Message message. Yeah. And then call. Where? Oh, we're here. Yeah. Call. Okay. Call call. He's not going to answer. Definitely not. Hey, Siri, what time is it in New Zealand? This is a vessel shipping cold call. Oh, it's seven in the morning. Perfect. Hey, it's Luke Sederman. You are on a, you're on the Monday mass. This is a cold call, my friend. You're the first person that's ever picked up. Why can't we hear him? Hi, Luke. How are you? Going to do good. So I, I'll pissed off for you right now. Well, a little bit. I'm just going to sew back. You got to sew back. Why? Yes. I just lack of any kind of care of my body, really. What we care for your body? Yeah. Yeah. I know you're as messaging me and telling me that sort of stuff. Yeah. Yeah. But are you guys meeting regards to this? Yeah, with all the people there. I'm sorry. Yeah. Say what? Yeah, with all the people at your break. Yeah. Oh, no, I tell you what, yesterday I went out surfing and it was actually quite good because it was like with all the professional surfers guys that were out. It was like the rest of the crowd were not out because they were all like spectating. So all the other surfers had decided not to go out because they're, you know, obviously fans of professional surfers. So they just sat on the beach and watch them instead. So crowd factor was pretty good. I love that. And so like, have you ever heard the Richie Collins quote when he told somebody out in the water like, what are you even doing out here? Why aren't you on the beach watching me surf? I don't go to your office and sit on your desk. Well, yes, that's one of my favorite quotes a whole time. Agreed. Well, we just we won't take up too much of your time. We just give us a prediction. Is this event going to be fun to watch? Is it going to be exciting for the viewers and who's going to win it a goofy footer or a regular footer? I think it should be a pretty fun event. It's looking like there are going to be some waves be like head eye I think and pretty fun to use the overused word fun. And I think, I'll tell you what, if it's on a wave count, like the amount of waves caught until I will win hands down by. Just he caught, I think he caught at least twice as many waves as the entire world tour combined yesterday. So he's really good at catching waves whether they're he's a total top or not. But I think, yeah, someone like, yeah, maybe, yeah, what are the goofy footers? The Brazilian goofy footers, I think we've got a pretty good chance. I just think the judges might get a little bit of backhand rear for teak. There'll be a lot of backhand window wipers going on. All right, we'll be turning into you. We can't wait to see what you are doing all week long. Are you working with the WSL on any official capacity? Yeah, kind of. And some absolutely bizarre move they decided to get me to make a bunch of social media content and possibly even do some Chris co-taying in the booth. Oh, yes. Well, yeah, better than me. Do you have an only fans account? Not yet. Okay, the great opportunity. This could be your stepping stone into the world of only fans, Luke. Don't waste this opportunity. Topless Bible Bible verse readings. All right, and we love you. We'll be out. We'll be tuning in and thank you for picking up the cold call from the Monday Mass. All right, no worries. Cheers, boys. But what a guy. And I just learned something that you can't do. Speaker phone on it. It's the guy was like whispering. I'm well, I kind of like. Do you think these might as well be able to pick it up? Yeah, I think so. Okay. I don't know. But guys, the people at fuel fixed that. Yeah, right? I would have luke nose wrong fuel TV is about to. So that was cool. What else do I talk about? There's a $750 billion surf destination now open in Kitties City. It's called Aqua Arabia. It's in Saudi Arabia. And apparently this is going to be the biggest best wave pool in the world. And they're pushing waves and the backdrop looks incredible. So now I'm yelling. What do you think tourism's like going to Saudi Arabia right now? I think it's chilled out. I would go. I honestly look, this is an endless surf pool. I know how good those pools can be. This is the biggest baddest one in the world. So I would go. Of course, I would like to fly business class on Emirati. Yeah. Anyway, so they're pushing waves. It's happening. Nice. There is the ice box river just kind of pop back up. So if you haven't been following, this is one of the most famous ways in the world. That's why it's news here in the Monday Mass. So the ice box river in Munich, somebody somebody died there surfing, which is a tragedy. When that happened, the city came in. They did. They cleaned it up. He quote cleaned it up and something happened. They were trying to regulate it. And the wave disappeared. It was like a spirit. It was exercise and the spirit left in the wave disappeared. Well, the locals went in kind of manipulative, try to fix it, but it was a government fight. It was a whole thing. It came back by itself. Todd, the wave came back by itself. The wave came back by itself. There are some rules now. If you're inexperienced at surfing, so you need to surf after 10 pm because we all know that after 10 pm is a great time to learn how to surf in a river. That's not true. That is true. I read that yesterday says a writers need to be the wave is only open for skilled and experienced. Until 10 pm. Oh, and then it's and then you then it's a free for all. Which means that there's people that are not going to know how to surf a river. And they're trying to figure that out at 10 pm. That's good. There's lights. You got to be if you're 14 or younger, you have to be accompanied by an adult who is an experienced surfers. Maybe you need like a surf license. You got to have the body system and only quick release leashes. That's what happened. Somebody got caught underwater and their leash actually held them under, which is it snarly. So yeah, and lastly in surf news, this is a this is a bummer. So this is kind of this is like a is due to underground hero underground legend. Ian Boucher. So you probably if you've been to the North Shore, if you've you know been a pro surfer that went to the North Shore, if you've been a tourist that went to Laila's, you met Ian. Ian larger than life, just ambassador of pure Aloha. He was the guy at Laila's that took care of everybody. And he would always be you know, you know, I'm talking about you. And so, you know, he would he would bring cookies to the table. He would, you know, host all the winners of all the events that would go to Laila's is like, if you win a contest at pipe sunset, Hollywood, you take all your friends to Laila's. So Ian was just a huge part of the experience there. Huge part of why all the pro surfers went there. Just the the rat us guy and it's really sad that you know, this is just like a huge part of the North Shore experience. You know, the this human being, it was just super rad that made you feel like like even, you know, howlies made us feel like we were safe and wanted and welcomed at Laila's. Do we have thrown out of Laila's? Oh yeah, not by Ian, but Ian would be the the one I went on some golf cart rides with Ian around the property and I returned to Laila's and I then I had to run out of Laila.
It's very paranoid after the golf cart, right? He was just the rat us guy and yeah, he would be the first one to tell you like when you're having your second my tie. He'd be like, "Hold on. I don't know about the third and you'd be like, "What do you mean? The third one's fun?" And then you'd wake up the next day on the beach face down in the sand and you'd be like, "I should listen to Ian." So rest in peace Ian, what a legend. Skate news. He's brought to you by Bubbs Naturals at Bubbs Naturals. The reason Bubbs Naturals sponsors are skate news segment is because you need good collagen and good strong bones if you want to keep skating. I skate it on Friday Todd. I don't imagine that you're going to be skating anytime soon. No, I mean, I don't improve my legs work. I just dude, I have like nightmares now about tripping because it happened like when I broke my collarbone it was like you want to do it was the dumbest shit ever. So now I've got that weird mindset where I'm what's it called? Glass, glass man mindset where like you feel like you're going to fall and break something no matter what. Well, I have it. I gotta get over that. I have. I have this. Don't slam yet. I have this thing. So, you know, the older you get the more tricks you lose. And you know, I have like, I don't know, five or six tricks left. I've always been able to do frontboards. You know, not like crazy long, fully decked frontboards, but like quick frontboards. I've always done them flat bars, whatever. So I'm skating on Friday. And as I'm rolling up to the flat, I haven't for I don't know if I haven't done frontboards in a while. I'm skating up to the flat bar. And as I'm skating up the most clear picture in my mind is my teeth hitting the bar. Literally, I'm seconds away from attempting a frontboard and all I can see is my mouth and teeth hitting the flat bar. Why is why does your brain do that? I don't understand your brain is telling you like bro, you don't need to do frontboards. No, because my brain does that shit all the time. Like I'm be rolling into a big ass jump. Yeah. And and my brain just plays me either flying past the landing into the parking lot or coming up 30 feet short. Like what what is it? Is there any psychiatrist sports psychologists that are watching us? I would like to know why does your brain play the worst case scenario? Like it doesn't do you any good? No, it's just like a dick friend. Oh, I think maybe it's your brain. Your brain is a dick friend a lot of the time. Like the because I would do that like when we were skating when I was in high school and someone would drop in and be like, don't hang up to say to say to somebody. So my brain is even a bigger my brain is a dick to me. You're about to eat shit. Like why is your brain a dick to you? My body my body can still do a lot of tricks, but my brain can't do a lot of tricks. And I don't know why my brain is a straight dick. Yeah it is. Anyway. What were we talking about? Okay, so this is not skateboarding news, but this is this this is crazy. What is going on in the scooter world? I don't know. Have you been seeing these clips of scooter guys and I just want to put it out there. I do not know what is going on with the scooter world. There's a there's a there's been clips circulating on the gram and one of the company one of the handles is called Olay brand OH LA Y brand. So they they just posted something called the Barcelona Street Jam. This is the gnarliest scooter contest of all time and I don't care what anybody says about grown men and women that ride scooters. This shit is gnarly. This is as gnarly as it gets. Do you know what the clips I'm talking about? I sent them to you. You have a slams. Okay, I mean I'm down for a slam. I feel like you know this is this kind of interesting. So I feel like scootering right now is in a place because I don't see scooter kids at my park and the parks anymore as much. Maybe I don't go in the afternoon, but anyway. So scootering to me is like a parallel with body boarding right now. It's happening in the underground. It's so gnarly mainstream doesn't know about it until something pops up on social media. So yeah, we've seen like some gnarly scooter stuff happen at like Swampfest and a couple clips here there. You can't deny that the shit that they're doing is out of control. Like you can't. But it's I can't like you're still that I can't do it. I can't. Yeah. I can't form the words. Todd. I don't know if I need to be a scooter fan, but you got to I know you respect what they're doing. Oh yeah. And you'll watch. I'm willing. If someone is willing to take it to the pain to learn something. I'm going. These guys are guys and girls are going I want to say like 20, 25 feet over a hubba on the flat into a crowd and into a telephone pole. It's like it's like it's so there's some footage happening here. If you're watching this on fuel or on YouTube, liver has left the chair. Yeah. Reese Dozeema. He won $10,000 in this street jam, Barcelona street jam. And I backtrack a little bit to why I kind of look at like body boarding. So you know, body boarding was definitely made fun of and look, it transferred surf. We made fun of everybody even scooters as well. But when you see some of these new body boarding edits, body boarding clips, they they don't care. Like the scooter guys, the bodyboarders that are charging these slabs, like they don't care if you see it or not, they're going to do it anyway. And I think that's like these these two things are the current most punk rock shit happening in the streets. There you go. There's not much skate news happening right at the moment. Omar Hassan is part of the inducted class of 2026 into the skateboard Hall of Fame, which I think is really rad because Omar has been slamming harder than most. Yep. He's head is he got scalped longer than most. Yeah, I have the utmost respect for Omar because he's a he's a board Lord. He's a inspiration. Skate surf snow guy. I've done trips with him. We're going to talk about Sweden in in the snowboard news portion. And that was the first time I hung out with Omar was going to this the anniversary of this contest. Right. And Omar is just he's just he will like I said, if if you're willing to take it to the pain, you've got the utmost respect from me and Omar. He's still slamming. He does not care about his truck being over the deck when he's going in. Not at all. Yeah, well, maybe next week, I think because isn't that event happening this weekend? I think so. There's a lot happening within the next two weeks as far as sporting news stuff. So you should check out the Dylan J. follow up interview on thrash your magazine. It tells the whole story about how he got on quasi and talks about his part. And there's actually one part. This is so this is how good this guy is. Yeah, the trick selection, the spots and all that. But he's also thinking about I need to wear a different outfit, certain tricks. So he wasn't dressed to the same throughout the entire part. Oh, I thought that was the goal to make people think it was his one day. No, no, he wants it to, you know, like to look as good as the skate. Not that he's like trying to be a fashion guy, but he just wants to switch it up to a compliment the cool spot. That's kind of an interesting take. Yeah. Jeff De Chesare is an interesting dude. He's actually on the nine club this week. His nickname is Jeff Wonsong. Oh, he's the guy that does like the triple flips and stuff down the stairs and all the wild tricks. To me, he's kind of like a like a neat sure wood type of person. He's but he's super mellow. He seems like a really chill guy. And I want to salute the nine club for having people like Jeff on there that that deserve some shine. I saw really. And he's really, really, really, really I saw as far as like spectacle skateboarding. Yeah. So the curb show was in Vegas last week. Yeah. Yeah. I know you're talking about. And Bam Margera was commentating this hand right like this indoor skate session. Yeah. And I don't know who this dude was. But I I urge you to go on. I don't know if he's got an urge. I don't know if Bam hard posted this, but this dude does like a caveman blunt slide on this rail. He's wearing gloves. He's wearing gloves. Then grabs the wheel and does like a like a scooter train like a like a scoot what would that be called like a frame whip with his skateboard around his hand. Yeah. And lands it off the end of the rail. It is the craziest like there's so much going on. And I just wonder if kids like this like there's obviously them like mainstream skateboarding where you follow that and you know you there's the tricks that everyone does you know kick flip, crick-grinding, you know, front line whatever. Just like the mainstream tricks. And then there's these kids that follow an isolated path of evolution on their own without a lot of influence. And they create these tricks at shitty skate parks by themselves because they don't have you know like Chris Jocelyn showing up there on every Tuesday and showing you like what like it's almost like this this dude's tricks are probably a lot like Todd Falcon. Right. Which
you know, kind of dovetails into what you were talking about. It's a nine club. These guys evolve and create this complete other branch of skateboarding that is so wildly different. Different's not even like the word that describes it. It's unusual, difficult, difficult, insane. I don't know. All right. But I know what you're talking about. That is a scooter trick, Todd. Okay. You do, you are a scooter fan. Do you follow on Instagram? Do you follow scape and destroy? Yes. It's the guy who landscape or he like cleans up skate spots. Jesse Arrowwood goes and like, cleans up spots, blogs it puts it on you to, you know, a lot of times these spots are old and crusty. Yep. And he goes in there and cleans about, well, I just find out the other day that Jesse's going to actually be at Jackalopfest, which is in two weeks in Virginia Beach. Okay. And it's really cool because I think it's, it's steel has flown him out there. The steel, the company, but still, no, steel the company that does like long tools. Oh, they, they are, they, they create metal. No, long tools. Like, you know, like, Ryobi. Okay, but steel is the name brand. Yeah. STE, H, E, L, steel, STE, whatever. Steal. Steal. Steal. They're flying him out there and hooking him up. Like they're providing him with the tools to do his job. And if, look, as an adult for Christmas, I want, I want tools, it, the Walt. I want the wall battery. I'm just telling you like, for me, because I have the wall, like my, my brand that I, I'm in the DeWalt ecosystem. Yeah. If you, if you invest in a certain company, like DeWalt Milwaukee, you're, you're kind of a Ryobi guy. No, no, not a Ryobi book. No, you do. I, no, Ryobi is entry level. I have, I have the big batteries. You're drawn to the green. Jigsaw. I got the, uh, what brand? The, um, DeWalt. Okay. I have bigger batteries than you. And my batteries are so big. And they're charged. Anyway, I just think it's really cool to have, um, what steel should be maybe a sponsor of the Monday mass. We have room for one more. Anyways, I think it's see me whacking the weeds. I can't wait to talk to him because it's like, you know, it's, it's just, these are the unsung heroes when I was growing up on the East Coast. We had a lot of really crappy skate spots. Yeah. Like a lot of overgrown skate spots, a lot of spots that like, you know, that needed to have maintenance done. And the older crew would come and there was a certain, there was certain members of that older crew that would go and, and sweep and, yeah, and deforest and whatever you needed to do. And they would always make you pay attention to them, be like, look, here's what you're going to come here. You bring a broom next time. Yeah. And it's cool. And I think that's cool. I think it's a good message for the generation. You got to, you have to be a caretaker for your spots. Yeah. custodian. That's right. Your spots, if you will, you got to earn your turns. Um, Todd, I got sent a box of dicky's skate from one of my friends, the local dicky's rep. You can get dicky skate at your local surf, skate shops everywhere, to everywhere. Dicky's everywhere. Um, in this box, Todd was a pair of jorts, rather large jorts. Mm hmm. Here's a, I'll show you a picture of me in the jorts. Are you one? I'm not aware of where I am now. Uh, my question is to jort or not to jort. That is the question. Todd, do you buy into the idea that a almost 50 year old man should not be wearing the same jorts as his, I asked my son 17 year old, London. What do you say? He wears jorts daily. Did tell you make some look cool. You tell you look like a chopped on. And not so many words. He kind of giggle. I said, son, what do you think of these jorts? And he kind of was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, like go for it. Really? Yeah. I mean, I would, he loves me. I would back you if you wore like tight jorts. Stretch jorts. Stretch to remember like people would wear stretch jorts. I'm wearing Dickies pants right now. And for my, for my buck, I'd back you wearing Daisy, Daisy dukes. Yeah. So we'll get back to this. Um, what do you guys think are jorts? Should you be, I mean, I told you this and I've said this a million times before. My daughter at one point said to me, why do you dress like all my friends? Yeah. And that what do you want us to wear? Like khaki pants? No, but she basically knee capped me. I wear khaki pants, but they're cool khaki pants. khaki's never go out of style. You pants are okay. The older you get, though, the more, the more chance you're going to have of one of those little dots. P the P I saw man peeing on the sidewalk this morning. Where right in front of one of our favorite places to eat breakfast? Mm. Just straight up urinating on the sidewalk. That is not fine. It was not good. And I couldn't not look. I know. It's like when my dog in a walk and he looked at me looking as his stream was flowing. Yes. And it was this weird. This is terrible. This is a terrible subject. Questions. We've got questions. Lots of people sent in questions and the best of this question, bunch. We're winner packaged by made by, from made by dentists at made by dentists. Toothbrush sonic toothbrush clean your teeth. Toothpaste all the, you're going to get. Set up. Best question wins. Okay. Go ahead and decide after these questions. Okay. Brian McDonald wants to know in the mid 80s. I remember the first time I saw someone skating a quarter pipe in a parking lot. And I was instantly hooked. Do you guys remember the moment that made you want to skate? Yep. What was it? It was my friend Jay, who I really like, he was like King of the Dipschitz in my high school. Yep. He got a skateboard and was skateboarding out in front of the lunch room at lunch one day in when I was in high school, probably freshman year. That's pretty cool. And I was like, oh, Jay, so cool. I want to skateboard. Yeah. I think, I mean, growing, like growing up in insanitas, it's like we're seeing skating like that a lot. So it's definitely like my older brother and his friends skating. But then I think seeing skateboarding in police academy. Oh, that's what did it for you? Well, partially skiing skateboarding in police academy. And then seeing ramps pop up around the neighborhood and the older kids riding him. I was like, well, I'm in. Yeah. Yeah. You grew up in the eco. Yeah. And Delmar was down the street. That's not even like your opinion doesn't matter. And I think, yeah, like going to skate, Delmar skate ranch. This is a flex. I grew up skating at Delmar skate ranch. So I'm not saying I'm better than you guys just. I'm pretty cool for that reason. Great question, Brian. Mikey, our guy, Mikey, if Chris and Todd could only select one person to skateboard with a, wait, could only select one person to skateboard with a different person to surf with and a different person to snow with. Oh, like one person to do all of three of them. Yes. One person to surf skate and snow with one person. Ooh. I'm going to say my Kelly because it's her birthday. And I want to surf skate and snow with her forever. You know, it's weird because I was going to say your Kelly. Yeah, don't. That's my Kelly. If not my Kelly, um, you know what? This is probably, I mean, I guess in our world, this is a cliche answer, but I'm going with Nathan Fletcher. We're both goofy. Futs. We both like the same stuff. We like to do front side grinds. We like to do frontside alleys. We like to do frontside heirs on our surfboards. He's obviously better at me that at all three, but I think he would be he's a really fun person to hang around. He's super positive. And he, it's like, you just, he's got this kind of like guru Yoda style of like stoke. So I'm going, I'm going Nathan Fletcher for the surf skates. No, try fact to bro. I mean, Todd's my number one. First two, Chris Miller. Chris Miller. Okay. Great question, Mikey. That was good. Adamette Sart. Monday, mass question. Stab high for junior beach. Who are your winning picks? Just throw. Okay. One name. No more pussy footing around. I think he was going to win it again. Huey Vaughn. Yep. One pain. Ian Crane. Whoa. Crane. He's got all of you. Good frontside alleys. We'll see. Our guy, Milby, Milby says, with Todd's recent success at peptide assisted bone growth. Is Nick Naminai school was peptide assisted bone growth? Are there any compounds that would help a sad sack heal from surfers, ear, surgery? Oh, because that's not bone, right? No, but like the like, look, I am, I am neither condoning or saying that you should do peptides peptides. Okay. I'm just giving you, but you're doing it anecdotal. Well, I was on them and now I have to take a break. Okay. You don't just stay on them, right? Apparently from what I was told. Okay. But one of the things, one of the positives that I noticed and this was probably the, the thing that I noticed the most.
most was the anti-inflammatory properties of BP157. And that's the. - BP157. - There's this thing called this Wolverine stack. It's BP157 and TB500. And it's these two peptides that you're supposed to take in conjunction with each other. - Science? - Science? Anyways, the anti-inflammatory results. Are you speaking English right now? - BP7845 anyway. - And then the T100. - Those of you who actually molten metal, but then you can form into any weapon you want. - Try to keep up Chris. - Sorry. - For an ill period of table. - You're actually saying interesting stuff. - I said it's not to me. - I think that they're. It's that same thing. The quote-unquote Wolverine stack is all about. - And that could help with surface. - And time. - Well, because surface zero, a lot of it is inflammation. - Yeah. - Right? And it's like. And obviously, like surface zero is the opposite. You don't want bone growth in your ear. - I know. I'm the same. My bones grow enough. You know what I'm saying? - Why is this? - Seven years old. - Seven years old. - So to answer the question, it could be. - Rowan rocks over a new stack. - Wolverine stack. BP157, TB500. Ask. - And this is an ask your local doctor. - Ask your local doctor. - We were talking about this the other day that it seems to me that most of the people that selling peptides or the same dudes that were selling weed in high school. Like they're just like the same dudes. It's like weird. Like a lot of the dudes that are selling you peptides, if you go to their Instagram, they're flexing in a mirror without a shirt on. And that is usually for me like a giant red flag. - Unless they have a really good body. And in that case, I'm like, "Are the proof is in the pudding here?" And I'm eating that pudding. - DM me. - To DM him. - For my. - Second follow-up question is, "I need a product recommendation for the best toddler life jacket for a two-year-old who can't swim but wants to go tandem surfing." I would say you need to do that method where you throw the child in the pool. It's like forced swimming. - Throw the baby out with the bathwater? - Throw the baby with the bathwater in the pool. It's forced swimming. Get a little base going and swim. - No. - Recognition? - We throw the baby at a monk's seal. - Figure it out. - Yeah. - No. - We're not giving surf lessons here. We're already telling people to. Look, don't do anything that we say on the podcast. - I'm ruined enough, people. I would say, "Okay, I have seen these. their life jackets and there's a big handle on the back." You basically can just carry the kid around. If you do get a life jacket for tandem surfing with the kid, get one with a handle on the back. Dustin Jones says, "Hey, Chris, I recently saw Project Hail Mary and I think it deserves at least a quote, you should check this out rating, not the best movie but pretty good. What is it about the film that didn't do it for you? Maybe I went into it expecting more interstellar and less. Independence Day, more serious space stuff and less campy cornball bullshit. Specifically, they're just seen in the movie where they're shopping the main character and this dude are like shopping and they get into this weird bromance basketball game and they're like about to kiss, which I'm down with in movies. - This isn't the same movie. - It was super. The scene is when it went on and on, they're like playing basketball in the movies or in the store. The movie. The more I think about it, the more I will say the Project Hail Mary sucks. So don't check it out. You know what? Dustin, it's a fine movie to watch on an airplane, but that's not saying much because I only watch dumb movies on airplanes. Honolulu says, "Do actually we have a lot of medical questions." Honolulu says, "Do action sports athletes still use CBD or have they found something else that works better?" Yeah, well peptides in the new CBD. - Peptides might be the new CBD. - But people still use CBD but I don't think even peptides. I haven't seen a CBD thing on Instagram. I haven't seen CBD store. I haven't seen a CBD stuff in ages. It used to be everywhere. I feel like, well, number one. - How do you feel? - CBD and peptides are both illegal to use on any sport we are getting tested. Yeah. You can't use them. The CBD stand for certified bone donor? That is actually something I'm known for. Snow news is brought to you by Spy Optics. Spy Optics is having a Memorial Day sale. Can you let us know what's possible? You just get the whole mid-show ad block. I'm doing it. No, you didn't. You just went straight to Snow News. Oh, but well, Spy is one of our sponsors. Well, Spy's one of our sponsors, but before we get to spy in Snow News, we got to talk about new greens. New greens, the drink mix, period prescriptions. We've been talking about supplements this whole damn time. We can't forget new greens. Don't go straight for the peptides. Do something for your body. Your first defense against inflammation. Just having a chopped rig is making sure that you go and you get yourself a good daily vitamin. Yeah. You get some collagen in you. Helps in well- - Some creatine. - And you just take it. Pure prescriptions. New greens. Look, it's there for you. It's like Todd just said, do something for your body. New greens. Now, I think that would be a good sticker. Question mark. Panic and coffee and tea at Panic and Coffee and Tea. We all know that Panic and Coffee and Tea is the greatest coffee and tea and muffins and bagels and coffee cakes. Been doing it since 1969 at a very high level. It's worth it. We love it. Panic and Coffee and Tea. Follow them. At Mint Tours. At Mint Tours. I just got a video from Mint Tours. They were somewhere very cool and I can show you because our people at Mint Tours, this is in reeks gronson. - Reeks gronson sweet. They were there for. - Can we hold this for you? - Eggmar and Abbey's King of the Hill event. Look, they sent me a video using Chris Cote solo. Friends coming home. Look at that looks so far. - We're going to talk about it. - What is this place? I'll tell you about it once we get to Snow News. Spy Optics have a big Memorial Day sale on their website. Spyoptic.com. This is Monday, May 11th and Monday, May 18th. 30% off the entire site. No, it's not May. I just. This is a full. May 18th. It's a full Ron Burgundy moment here. Yeah, that's what I said. We're supposed to announce this on Monday, May 11th and the 18th. It's really the Spy Memorial Day sale. May 21st through 24th. - So you mean Ron Burgundy? - 30% off. Hey, let's just roll into this. So, Ingham R. Bachman, Craig Kelly went to Rick Scranton's screedent Sweden. Craig Kelly went to Rick Scranton's Sweden quite some time ago. And this is the 30 year anniversary of, quote-unquote, "The King of the Hill Competition." This is in the Arctic Circle, Chris. I know that they're connected. It's the border of Sweden and Norway. Okay. It's up there. - Norway. - Swarway. It's up there. The sun doesn't set. Perfect. It does not set. So the party, the party goes on. Good. So they're up there. And this is also the spot where Ingham R. Bachman did that. The air. The air. Yeah. That changed everything. Yes. And so they're there. They're celebrating. There's a lot of people there for this right now. Our good friend, Pierre Wittberg is there, making edits. Abbey's there. Abbey is there. The guttors are there. Dan Mack from Vea Supplies is there. He just sent me a video and showed me that his hotel room literally opens the window onto the band stage. So good. What is coming, Dan? What's the worst room you've ever had at hotel? Dude, I have one in my. I can call it up right now because it was a traumatic event for me. Okay. What it was in? Okay. It was at the duetor in Ocean City, Maryland. It was the bottom floor of the holiday in that is on the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland. It was like below the sand level. The floor was wet. I would walk in and the carpet was wet. To the room was. It's musty. Clammy. Yeah. Not good. I had a room. Actually, last. When I was in Japan without Utah, I'm sorry to bring that up. But my room in Tokyo, which is just like a one night transition room, it was so tiny. And I was already hung over and just wanted to go home. And it was on a smoking floor. It didn't smell great. And I was like, "Oh, at least there's a window." And I went in the room and I'm like, with all my bags, and I'm like, "It's a closet." And I go, "Oh, I'm claustrophobic."
- And I go open the window and it's just a brick wall. (laughing) And the window did not open. And I'm like, I had a got-side. I just stood outside for a while. - It was not bad. - Yeah, well. - That was my recent one. - Sometimes that happens. - Okay, so how can we watch the KOTH30 and the airs and the snowboarding? - Well, if you follow snowboarding on Instagram, just that. - You can basically, you can search. - I saw it. - The King of the Hill on there. There's a whole bunch of, like the Solomon team is there. Like you said, mentors is there. There's a ton of people there. It's gonna be all over your feet. It seems like everyone is there right now. - Yeah. - It's K-O-T-H-30 year. - K-O-T-H-30 year. On the Instagram, you can follow that for all your stuff. - Yeah. - And the weather looks great. The times that I've been there, I think I remember having like two days with sun. - Yeah. - It was really shitty weather. And it's perpetual shitty weather. It's like 24 hours a day of gray. Like it doesn't get dark. - Sounds like May Gray and San Diego. - May Gray and San Diego. - Todd, I've just been seeing news coming out about the US snowboarding team. And I think they just announced their new roster for next season. - Okay, so you know, Pates, Wackendorfer, Gami Anderson, just to name a few. But my question is, what is the, why is there a US snowboarding team when it's not an Olympic year? Like what is the function of having a, are we competing against other countries? - Totally. - There's a world. - And how does this, what is this? - It's all, what is it? - It's all the march towards getting allocation spots for Team USA for the next Olympics. Or for the world championship. - It's not like five years away. - It is, but this is just how it goes. It's like Team USA. - But it's a badge of honor. You like, you get name to the team. - Yeah, you get paid, you get support, you get like all these things. And it was really cool that Jake Pates is back on Team USA. He represented the Olympics in six years ago. - Italy, yeah, well, he did, he just was there. He was in Italy representing in the half pipe for us. - Oh, yeah. - So Ryan Wackendorfer was on Team USA for a long time and then was kind of plagued by some injuries, but he's back on, he fought and trained and he's back on. So, you know, it's a big deal for, - Okay. - In this, I know what it is. - In this day and age, there's just not a lot of like, there's not a lot of sponsors that are putting money into people that compete. They're just, it's just not there. They'd rather have you out creating content, but, you know, Team USA is a way to give people an opportunity to travel and compete and they take care of the things that would otherwise cost you most of your salary. - That's great. - Well, congrats. I'm all for it. Sean White and Tony Hawk go head to head. - Saw this. - Hot ones versus on YouTube and Sean White turns red pretty quick on this episode. It's pretty funny. I'm not gonna spoil it for who wins, but they both eat very hot wings. And I would think that Tony Hawk would have the advantage as he does own a hot chicken sandwich restaurant. - He's prepared the service. - He's been training, but it's a, it's a fun thing with snowboarding, skateboarding superstars. - I think it would be. - Sean White and Tony Hawk. - It'd be cool to have a like a caboose show to that where you just like, you interview people while they're on the toilet directly off. - Oh, speaking of not that, I'm gonna edit that out. Speaking of hot stuff, did you get invited to chicken Hawk? - I did. - Are you gonna go? - Yeah. - All right. - It's very yummy. - Well, I was invited first. Tony Hawk, Chris Cote, Todd Richards, in that order. Thank you. - Nerd news is brought to you by dikatstickers.com. @dikatstickers.com, Todd, I have a question for you. You seem pretty, you're a movie guy. - Yep. - And you watch movies on your television. - I do. - Why is it that the action in movies is so loud, and the talking is so quiet? Is this just my TV? Do I not have like surround sound speakers? Is it Dolby? Why is the action so loud in the talking so quiet? Does that happen to you? - I think it has to do with the way that your TV mixes things. - It's a brand new TV. It's a Samsung. - Yeah, but I know, but I think a lot of these new TVs are mixing it, 'cause they give you options. You can go into the sound thing, and it's like surround sound. Speakers from the TV, blah, blah, blah. But if you don't put that on the right setting. - Will you come over? Are you looking for a new reality show to binge? Todd? - Always. - Okay, well, Survivor, this season, the 50th season of Survivor is going off. Mr. Beast was on there, there were eating grubs. - Mr. Beast is a competitor? - No. - Oh, damn it. - He came and presented like a challenge. - I would watch. - Survivor, this is so good. - I would watch a content creator, Survivor. - Okay. - See who could survive. Like you get Mr. Beast, you get that Jack, not Jack Dorsey. What's the kids name? - There's like all these, you get the island boys. - Oh, you see all of them. - I want to see it. - I remember a battle of the network stars, where it would be like all your favorite sitcom and shows, and they would get together and have like a decafalon. - Yes. - They need to do that again. - I think that's kind of what they do that on stream. Like kick stream and whatever is streaming things. They're constantly doing stuff like that. But like let's get them all together. - All of them. - All of them. - Anyway, Survivor's going off, but if you're looking for something else, there's a new one, new or one. It's on the second season. It's called Million Dollar Secret. And so you have like 18 people, they go to this like mansion, and you wake up and one person is a millionaire. That's million dollars in a box. And basically then they have to lie into these challenges. And people are trying to find the million. It's really an interesting thing. - Where would you hide it? - No, you don't hide it. You hide it emotionally. - Oh, that. - You can't let anyone know that you're easy. - Fucking crush that. - Well, you'll see if you want to watch it. I'm just like throwing that out there. That's a pretty good deal. - Chris, what do you think about all of this government disclosure of UFOs? UAPs, unidentified aerial phenomenon. - I don't understand why it's not a bigger deal. It's like a pretty damn big deal to me. But I think everyone, not just in America, but in the world, is so overwhelmed by war, Epstein files, government bullshit. All these things that we hear about that, it's just like, it's, we're in a simulation and we can't figure out what's the truth and what is made up by the government or by, you know. - Like short of, short of, beyond the government. - Short of like aliens coming down on the grass of the White House and being like, yo, we're here. Like, and I don't even think people. - We have footage of aliens and people are like, yeah, but this is a distraction from the Epstein files, which it very well might be. - Mm-hmm. - Like, the crazy part to me is right. We're sitting here, we're in a meeting with the president whoever and they're like, okay, look, these Epstein files are like really gnarly. What can we do in someone's like, let's bomb a country? And they're like, okay, good start. What about like, someone in the back, probably like every meeting like, UFOs, and they're like, oh my god, this guy. Okay, do the UFOs and they do it and people are like, I don't know, they just wanna see the Epstein files. - Mm-hmm. - And that's your conspiracy minute. It's not even a conspiracy. It's just like, beautiful. - Oh, weird way to end the show. It's what it is. - There's something out there. - Oh, they're out there. There's something in your anus. - Guys, this has been the Monday Mass. We are an access to what's podcast about nothing. We barely cover anything that you wanna hear about, but for some reason you listen every week. - And thank you, look, we have that, we have a really cool intro. Totally forgot about it until just now, but Bill Lyons made us a Scooby-Doo intro. We're gonna use that intro at the top of the show. - I'm our like technology. - So thank you, Bill. Now that was cool. And thank you for your favorite. - Thank you for watching Fuel TV. We'll be here every week talking about the stuff that you don't really care about. - And if you're listening, congratulations to you too, because I would listen if I was you. Bye.
