The Love Island Villa Is On FIRE (with Bob the Drag Queen) | 64
56m 23s
The podcast explores several interconnected topics, beginning with the rumored breakup between Kenny and Janae, fueled by claims of infidelity and social media confrontations. A central debate arises over whether checking a partner's phone is justified, with the host acknowledging that while it may stem from insecurity, it often reveals nothing concrete. The discussion then turns to the dynamics of *Love Island*, where the season's lack of conflict is contrasted with the real emotional stakes shown in friendships involving Janae, Serena, and Leah. The conversation shifts to pop culture, where the new *Superman* movie is praised for its bold, anti-establishment tone and political messaging, particularly its parallels to modern geopolitical conflicts. The hosts also dive into the viral rise of Nick of House Nicolandria, whose music and persona have sparked widespread attention. A major segment features a celebration of Harriet Tubman, with the host imagining her as a music artist and emphasizing her overlooked role as a veteran and military leader. The episode concludes with a call for deeper cultural engagement, urging listeners to recognize the complexity of historical figures and modern media, while maintaining a safe, honest space for candid discussion. The tone remains playful yet insightful, blending personal anecdotes with broader social commentary.
This week, we're talking about the new Superman movie and talking Harriet Tubman and Traitors
with Bob the Drag Queen.
But first, I need to clock in for another shift of Love Island Wellness Check.
I never left, actually.
I know you didn't.
I time stamped in and I never clocked out.
For sure.
I'm earning overtime.
Oh my gosh.
No, no.
You're like actually two seated.
Okay, so the latest is that we know why Kenny and Janae broke up.
And let's shake that table.
I'm ready to flip the table, actually.
Yeah, yeah.
Let me say that.
Actually, a little something more serious.
Okay, so this is what we know so far.
Yep.
Kenny and Janae went to the birthday party for the YouTuber David Dobrik.
Which is a crazy sentence, by the way.
Hate that I even had to say it.
In 2025.
Hate that I had to say it.
But he's always at the scene of a crime.
For sure, for certain.
There are rumors, like maybe there's a cheating scandal.
Maybe it was like a baby mama drama.
Something like, it's like crazy stuff.
Yeah.
And Janae went on, I think, Instagram and posted something like,
it's worse than you could have ever imagined.
And like all of the theorizing is like not the case.
Then one of her friends posted, quote,
my advice for women and relationships.
If you have access, go through your man's phone today.
All caps.
Search keywords like, quote, I don't like black women.
I thought I would get more money from this.
I'm faking this relationship.
Going on the show would be for clout.
I can't wait to be done with this so I can fuck hella,
bitches.
You'll thank me later.
P.S.
Never spare a man.
Dog them out, baby girl.
Hunter said that like she was like studying it.
You said, oh, I know this experience.
You said, let me put my chest into it.
Someone's pissed me off today.
Well, we'll get to it later.
Someone from Love Island?
No, no, no.
No, a man.
Imagine that.
Well, classic.
Okay.
Gonna say something authentic and real, which is like,
I am not against going through your partner's phone in the sense that I do think going through
a phone.
Is actually maybe, sure, it could be anxiety, could be insecurity, but it's always a gut
feeling.
Like when you have that instinct, you kind of almost always find something.
Interesting.
I mean, those keywords, so they're specific for certain.
Yeah, for certain.
Those are specific keywords.
But I was like, you know what, girl?
Good for you.
And I'm like, unlock it.
Nope.
Men shouldn't have passwords on their phone.
That is crazy.
Thank you.
That's crazy.
But very, very something of you.
Very something of you.
No, well, I'm going to say, I feel like, it's so funny, I literally just saw this Cleo
Trappa TikTok the other day, Sunday, which was, it's okay, go through my phone.
I have nothing to hide.
You need to give me one business day, and with one business day's notice, go through
it all.
Mention it all.
And then we'll find anything.
We got to get her on this pod.
And begging, pleading.
There needs to be a meeting of the minds.
You know I don't play about Cleo Trappa.
That's my girl.
And I write for her.
She's never been wrong.
But speaking of other black women we're standing, Janae, obviously, but you know who I forgot
about?
I forgot about PPG don't fucking play.
Oh, they do not.
Oh, no, no.
Remember that scene of Serena walking over and saying, what we're not going to do right
now?
Oh, because Rob was trying to talk to Leah Crazy, and she said, and the way that Serena
looked at Janae and was like, hold on, hold on one second, let me pause the conversation
because I need to go over there and handle some business, because what we're not going
to do is talk about Leah Crazy.
No, no, no, no, no.
We're not going to gang up on her.
Even if it's Rob.
Not here, not now.
And they're, I love a consistent.
Consistent woman.
PPG had posted, technically in response to Kenny, because he posted his own version of
an Instagram story.
Uh-oh.
Janae responds to that saying, at Kenny, shut the fuck up, you manipulative liar.
You're not taking accountability and telling people the type of person you really are is
insane to me.
My first statement was me being nice.
Don't piss me off.
Mm.
Mm.
A word.
And then, Leah goes, at Kenny, put a sock in it, chat.
I'm going to say it again.
At Kenny, put a sock in it, chat, GBT, headass.
Tell the truth for once.
Racist, clout, money hungry, and a scammer since all caps, day one.
Trying to make it seem like it's something it's not.
Don't worry.
Our nay is blessed and highly favored.
And then, Leah goes, comments on his page goes, delete my man off your page, you clout
demon.
Ooh.
That comment gets deleted, and then she comments again, how about you delete my man off your
page instead of deleting my comments?
Okay.
And when I say, we are separating the wheat from the chaff.
Mm-hmm.
Chaff?
Mm-hmm.
Whatever.
Sure.
It's Leo season.
Yeah.
That's what I'm getting at.
And you know what Leah is?
A Leo.
Oh, she is.
Yeah, of course.
Of course she is.
Of course she is.
Of course she is.
What did she say that one time?
Iconic, suck my dick, whatever you've heard about me.
Make it 10 times worse.
Yeah.
If you think it's bad, I'll make it worse.
Okay.
See, this is why I feel like so much more invested in the friendships that came out of this season
than the female friendships that came out.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Or the most recent season, I should say.
Because there didn't seem like there were any stakes or loss or conflict, and Janae,
Serena, and Leah really went through it and went at it together that built their relationship
and made it so much more stronger.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
I don't know.
I think that's true.
I'm just like, what do we know outside of it was something that was really problematic
and racist?
Do we think we're going to get clarity on it anytime soon?
I think we will.
I mean, maybe not from the show, obviously.
Not from beyond the middle.
Yeah.
Because I think that. I think they've, like, wrapped that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But, like, yeah, I don't know.
I feel like we will hear more, but Janae did go on. I think it was TikTok Live and say, like, Kenny's family is, like, not involved in this because
there was a rumor that, like, he was talking badly about her, like, with his family.
Like, they were racist, too.
And she was like, their family. His family is not involved.
It's literally just. My problem is just with him.
I want to close this chapter and move on.
Yeah.
But I think she'll. I think she'll, like, circle back around and say, actually, I need to air him out.
And she should.
Because it's, like, yeah.
It's too crazy that, like, they've been in a relationship for a year.
Yeah.
And she's. Things are coming to light that she's like, did you even love me all along?
Yeah.
But, you know, I hate when people are like, oh, I knew it all along.
But I always thought Kenny was kind of annoying.
Yeah.
Like, he always seemed like, like, boy.
And Janae needs a man.
Yeah.
There's, like, all these edits on TikTok now, though, like, showing these cuts of her on
Instagram Live, her, you know, doing her little thing.
And he's just staring at her with so much animosity.
Was it the watermelon one?
The watermelon one was a different thing.
It was just her playing to the camera.
Oh.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's looking at her, like, so aggravated, so annoyed.
Yeah.
It's like, you clearly don't like this girl.
Get away from her.
I also didn't like. I haven't watched that much of Beyond the Fillo, but I did not like the way that he is,
like, still talking to nasty ass. What is his name?
Connor?
Oh, the weird looking white one.
Yeah.
Yes.
He's shaped like a box.
I don't like that.
Sorry.
He. I don't like the way that Kenny's, like, still trying to, like, buddy up with Connor.
I'm like, that's your op right there.
Yeah.
Because if I hate someone and we're in a relationship, we hate them.
Yeah.
We go together.
We're a package deal.
I'm. I don't know what's hard to understand about that.
For sure.
Do the words Big Belgian mean anything to you?
I don't like the way you said that.
Well, they mean something to me.
Nick.
Yeah.
Of Nicolandria fame.
Heard.
Nick of House Nicolandria has been doing, like, I don't know, random party appearances,
random DJ stuff, under the DJ moniker Big Belgian, learning something new every single
day.
And did you see that video of him rapping along to City Girls?
Absolutely.
And singing every single word.
Backed up.
Except for the N-word.
Period.
Clock it.
Know it.
And let me tell you something.
Tim Leigh Chalamet's eye just started twitching.
He texted his stylist, get me FUBU now.
I'm on my way to Florida stat.
Ariana Grande reaching for the bronzer.
Billie Eilish doing the same thing she's always been doing, actually.
Not changing a thing.
She's just, like, cleaning her little glasses.
Like, her shirt's, like, two times baggier now.
She goes, mm, good for him.
No, like, when I tell you, I'll. Justin Bieber, you know, is like, I need to come back.
I'm off of maternity leave.
I need to call a black friend.
I mean. Because Nick is taking it.
I mean, you know, you want to talk about Nick, Nick, Nick, Nick, Nick.
I'll raise you a Nick.
And I'll see you a Mrs. Jennifer.
Yeah, his mother.
Nick's mom throwing that ass in a circle in her romper.
I was going to say the brown romper.
No, she took it.
No, that's a queen.
She's bad.
I saw younger photos of her, too.
Oh, no, that's what I mean.
Totally.
Yeah, let's get in there.
She was a model.
Like, the one, not the two.
A bad bitch sees another bad bitch.
She knows and respects her.
She knows and respects the game.
She saw Alandria.
She said, clock it.
No, that's why. You know that video in the car?
She's like, oh, but I love Alandria, though.
It's like, oh, poor Sierra.
I would be living through my own nightmare if, like, I had to watch someone that I used
to mess with move along, move on.
And their whole family.
And the whole internet.
The whole world is behind them.
Cheering ten toes.
No, it's. Oh, my goodness.
Oh, it's not looking great for Sierra.
Well, it. I still like her blush, I guess.
Just go to Sephora, Hunter.
I don't know what to tell you.
Oh, my goodness.
Oh, my goodness.
Anyway, I just had to get that off my chest.
I'm glad you did.
Because a lot of people. I'm glad you did. are texting their agents about Nick taking over the internet.
Well, I want to get Miss Jennifer on the reunion August 25th.
Oh, same.
She should actually. She should phone a friend.
Okay, so what's next?
New Superman movie.
And then later, we'll be talking about Harriet Tubman and Traitors with Bob the Drag Queen.
So, let me say this.
Let me say this.
Let me say this.
Look for a home for your worst opinions.
Are you a hater first, but a lover of pop culture second?
Consider this a glorified group chat.
But we're not calling you out.
No, no, no.
We're calling you in.
It's a safe space to talk shit.
But, of course, from Wondery, I'm Peyton Dix.
And I'm Hunter Harris.
And this is Let Me Say This.
And I've been saying this.
I'm a talk.
Let me say this.
Let me say this.
let me tell you a story about a girl named lucky what girl the way you texted me every single day
superman today superman today queen superman today at some point i was like you don't have
to see it you can just see it for the pot like just see it for yourself you don't have to see
it for the podcast i literally was like it's okay if you just wanted to go to the movies you can
just go see the movie you don't have to see it just to talk about on the show and i know that's
i know that literally shook your world capitalism but no look how lucky you are now we're talking
about it now you saw it i know you were waiting i was and i was so satisfied okay so quick log
line about superman if you haven't seen it and plan to go ahead and skip ahead about 12 minutes
um when superman i.e clark kent gets drawn into conflicts at home and abroad his actions are
questioned giving tech billionaire lex luther the opportunity to get the man of steel out of the way
for
did you write that summary it was copy and pasted absolutely his actions are questioned
press press press and now and i'm so glad i did because i really needed to hear you say that that
way actually i just saw you in a homeroom or something like it was like like like popcorn
reading yes um directed by james gunn the cast david corn sweat uh nicholas holt oh nicholas
holt we're talking about him rachel brosnahan isabella merced
and twilight alum eddie kathiki kathagi um okay so i what do you think okay i have the time of my
young adult life this is how i know you don't see the movies not not to be rude but this is how i
know that's kind of my whole thing is like i don't i don't think people are coming to me for
taste it's like i i'm watching with for the human experience i'm here for the girls that you know
got like a b average and like spent a lot of time in high school working on their full selves that's
what i did oh wow yeah that's what i specialize in and you don't like iris on love is blind or
love island that feels like very her core well it's hard to see yourself sometimes yeah anyway
um no so many things i want to get into i want to get into like let's talk about the casting let's
talk about the performance let's talk about the humor something that i think stuck out the most
to me though was i love that this felt like a little bit of a
fuck you to marvel in the same way that shrek kind of was like this fuck you to disney i think it
played really well in taking these heroes and making them um unserious obviously and like
being able to poke fun at itself um i thought this casting was so strong i love what's his
superman name i don't know who he is david corn sweat he's fine corn sweet is that his name yeah
it's a crazy name so he was in twisters he was in twisters he was he was like the nerdy guy i didn't
see him in the twist um just i'm i'm not calling you out i am calling you in have you seen that
many marvel movies yeah okay i actually like love marvel movies i feel oh countless queen
i just felt like it was really we'll get into this later for sure but like
i thought it was really anti-government anti-establishment in the way that marvel
movies always feel like in line especially with the u.s government
okay yeah um that that i can see a little bit also i'm to be clear like i'm not really familiar
with any of these characters you said i don't know hot girl mr terrific i came in a little bit
judgy a little side i said who the hell are these people let's get over here
but mr terrific stand account i was like oh i'm going to my house but well and that's your man
from twilight yes yes i was like what the hell is lauren doing here you're supposed to be dead
i thought they got you and he tore i did love mr
terrific and i loved um miss girl from uh what's that one show oh uh the last of us yeah yeah i
love miss girl from the last of us and i also um well you know listen one thing about me
what i love nicholas holt always have always will oh yeah okay see this is what confused me why are
people saying that it's shocking that he's hot he literally played a heartthrob in skins i haven't
seen skins you haven't i just love him just
see this is our difference i binge skins i i base my whole personality off of watching skins that's
so crazy maybe i should start no i have been i bought low when it was no on nicholas holt stock
and now there was never low there was never a low yes there was yes there was and it's we see it
right now because the people what you just said the people who are like oh he's oh my gosh look
at him now bleach chair he's so hot i was like what do you mean bleach chair he's so hot he's
been hot young though because they didn't watch skins and they didn't know that him and jennifer
lawrence dated which was a very hot period for both of them and that is crazy because we need
to wake that up that people don't know that it's really nasty this is why it's important to read
your history like shows like this okay because listen trump is closing the schools and we
classes in session get on your let me say this no okay i'm gonna you know me i'm gonna take
something too far um nicholas holt bald yes i think we should have that conversation let me pet that
it is unfortunate i think that this will inspire the wrong generation of men i think people will
watch this movie get the wrong idea yeah okay um so sit down elon musk what i feel like that's kind
of like his his like real world counterpart i thought you meant it's like an evil rich man
wait hunter i thought you were saying it's gonna inspire young men to shave their head no it's like
that bald i don't know if they would but who do you think who do you think is more bald nicholas
holt and this or people
nope dwayne the rock johnson never that ang let me tell you right never that it's never gonna be
the rock no um oh my gosh uh hottie little tall hottie uh vanessa hudgens x who's in elvis
austin butler and dune yeah or nicholas holt in superman who's more bald austin butler totally
that was shiny clean that was mr clean head over there for certain but like which one would i pick
even though you didn't ask
me that oh i don't think i could actually i think bald men should be having a time they
haven't been up like this since uh tay digs went bald oh no because we've had vin diesel and we've
had pitbull and they do a lot of work vin diesel's been posting lately on instagram a ton just by the
way i have seen that actually yeah and i've seen i've seen your little likes on every post too
that's what i've definitely seen that's crazy okay um i need to come out okay as a lover of
everything martin scorsese says about superman superhero movies they're just i mean whatever
it's fine like okay i was like whatever i thought i didn't like the dog i'll tell you that i thought
the dog looked too fake and was taking away roles from a real dog from real actors yes i didn't and
also i couldn't understand how big the dog was supposed to be because in some scenes the dog
looks really big and something that looks really small kind of cliffordy i don't like that send
that note to the director i will actually i will i will call you in but i i think it's funny that
you that you see such a rebuke of marvel in this because rumor james gunn was a marvel director and
then was fired yes after his old like just kind of stupid edgelord tweets came to light and yeah
this is not a james gunn endorsement it isn't it's not an anti-marvel endorsement there actually
because i love marvel movies as well he also did what guardians of the galaxy uh yes all of it like
a no not all of them i don't think i only watched the first one i think and i had a good let's say
all of them oh all of them oh wow oh he's employed okay good for him well not anymore
he switched sides he went to from house targaryen to house lannister be like that i'm talking
language i don't even know anyway um yeah i thought it was like yeah it was fine you know
whatever i a lot of interesting uh media criticism i'll say that well print is not dead in metropolis
is that what's called metrovill wait wait clark is never at his job how does that work he is at
his job with his glasses he shows up late and he shows up with a cover story many such honestly
but what i did like is that he there's like one throwaway line about how his glasses will like
make his face like not memorable which that was very clever but what i also thought was funny
that he's wearing that um you part hairpiece when he's at his work wait i'm gonna wake up a little
conversation first a little conversation around skylar that like white boy people oh skylar
no yes yes he played really well here too yes and i think it was like a smart play to the young
people i'm not as familiar with his work he seems like a really nice guy but like the way that
people are horny for him online yeah well there's that one little photo of him that's like it's very
like miley yeah it's like earnest smile it's very hr corporate yeah yeah for once did you see
licorice pizza i didn't he's funny in licorice music he's like two scenes oh really he's like
playing totally against type like a real jerk he's like he's like a real jerk he's like a real jerk
oh really oh i can't see him as that i know he seems so like wholesome he seems so like midwestern
yeah which i love that he does in this movie really well and i you know who i love a little
bit more than him that that uh side piece of his that leaks the data yes no because they try to
doubt a pretty bitch that's what they did with me yeah they try to doubt her work because she sends
all those selfies why do you think i'm taking all those 0.5 selfies all right i'm talking i'm
documenting in case i need to expose someone you said chestnut checkers you said i'm playing the
long game yep totally very much so i'm not playing the long game i'm not playing the long game i'm not
so actually no i loved her um no she was great i like their little like their little kind of love
affair i thought that was pretty funny but i also listen if i was with bold nicholas holt i don't
know that i would defect i think i probably would say on the winning team yeah
i would i would say let's go into one of those wormholes and let's exit out of chanel you know
what is very you what that line when he was like there's like mass hole was being made or fissure
or whatever the fuck i don't know and he was like just stop it when it gets to a city i care about
that is very me very you that's very me that's a good line that that scene and then the slow garage
i'm sorry got me good cackling in the theater okay but this is what i don't like about these
movies that i think is true of dc and marvel and honestly anything in this world is that it's always
like a joke yeah and like just in case you missed it it's like two more jokes on top of it and then
just to be really sure you got it it's like four more jokes on top of that it's like okay this is
the thing we have it's a really funny scene where mr terrific has like a well first it's uh
richard rosnahan yeah miss girl miss miss writer miss
you
always typing um she's like oh let's take my car and he's like uh-uh and it's like okay so that's
joke number one and then they go he's like let's take my ride and it takes really long for the
garage to open okay joke number two and then she's like okay so you've got all this money you can't
like get a like nice garage joke number three and they get in the car and like makes a weird sound
it's like okay so we know like i'm it's really it's truly made for people who watch stuff while
they're scrolling on their phones because like if you didn't get the first joke you'll get the next
seven just in case
in case you didn't look up but go to the theater yeah yeah yeah i people were hee hee ha ha like in
my so much so that my friend and i were looking into their like are they watching something
this is not that funny um but i like that boy i it's been a long time since we had like a real
like superman wait who who played him last henry cavill oh he's kind of fine he had that teenage
girlfriend once oh that's weird yeah shoot but not anymore though so i guess so she's
free and in there we actually it's our week um no but i think that this new guy has like hits the
like the kind of folksy charm that i imagine superman has as someone who watched smallville
growing up um and i don't think that henry cavill ever really got that yeah he just seemed kind of
two legs square john it's like whatever we get it is there anyone you would want to play superman
or could see playing superman superman's not my man oh let me start there who's your superhero
of toys spider-man really oh my god i mean yes i very much do it's like looking in a mirror um no
you agreed so that was tacit endorsement um no i love spider-man because the story is baked in
what are you talking about he's like awkward coming of age coming into himself like straddling
two worlds how can he make a geek in his real life with him like cool at night like the the
parent the family stuff the family stuff i mean i'm there for that auntie she's fine as fuck oh
she really is oh my god i can get me together
um but i guess i like think of him as a teen and so that's why i feel like i
i'm not thinking spider-man but it would make so who so who do you like who's your man then
honestly my answer sucks i bet you know i bet it's captain marvel i'm gonna have someone
gosh it's like iron man sorry i mean it might be knowing you no i like actually my first thought
was someone that i realized wasn't a um superhero who's ross butin from anastasia was my answer
oh i'll respect that
i'll respect that
well then what are we gonna take there i have to say cruella de vil
baddest bitch alive i love that you picked a woman no truly i i support women yeah we need
to bring it back to superman i think just just just a touch um like i said the fake dog did
bother me okay but i did really appreciate the ambition of this where i'd heard that it was like
felt political and i honestly had extremely low expectations the lowest like was like okay so
what are they gonna do say like
bipartisanship is sometimes bad i don't know i had no expectation um but i was really surprised
pleasantly that it becomes very political um i think you can think about it as being about like
russia ukraine but to me it was giving very much like palestinian zero yeah yeah 100 when i saw a
lot of people posting that there were uh russia ukraine similarities and immediately saw brown
people on the screen i said drop it drop the act there's no way but even the parallel of the like
80 billion in arms there's even specifically like a portrait of i don't know how to say this name
vasyl gurkos the like villain of it all or the leader of what would be the equivalent of like
an israel type state um a portrait of him had a lot of similarities to a portrait of
another war criminal i would say but yeah i was like really shocked that it um
that the final edit included as much as it did yeah it did feel very overt
even in um even just like visually like yeah like yeah i felt very similar um which i listen
i didn't love the movie but i was very impressed by that yeah i was really surprised with that one
no marvel would not have done that marvel that's what i would say all of the state
would not have would not have taken it that far it's very like america is a real superhero at the
end of the day
hundred von years government name
we prayed for times like these i'm excited i'm hyped i'm actually no let me sit up straight
yeah i'm like hoping to get dragged by our upcoming guest new york times best-selling
author and rupaul's drag race and traders alum your favorite yeah bob the drag queen is with
us today in the stew hi everyone i'm not i think everyone always thinks that i'm gonna like come
and like drag everyone but i'm actually really not like uh you raggedy bitches like i think i'm
nicer than people think i am i'm not someone who's like everything's about love and like i love
everyone but i'm also not like uh you know spite and venom i i'm somewhere in between i'm not
acidic and i'm it's not a base and it's not acid i would say i'm like a ph balance of zero okay i
want to we want to start off with talking about traders a little bit and i have to ask are you
a lover or hater of michael rapaport i so the short if i if i have to be one of these things
i would be a hater of michael rapaport if i have to if those are the only two camps i was
shocked uh to see the casting of the the new trader season specifically to see michael rapaport
are y'all are y'all lovers or haters of rapaport hater with my chest and i'm a lover of boots yeah
i'm the hater of the podcast
and i could not yeah the his relationship to blackness is so strange and like honestly
disturbing to me i don't i don't care for him at all there's a there's a video of him walking
down the street spouting his Zionist um views and then some guy just sees him on the street and goes
man shut the fuck up and it's just so have you seen this video and it was hunter harris actually
that's who it was by the way breaking news yeah and for some reason it was hunter in the back man
shut the fuck up um and for some reason he posted it
it's just so crazy to me no whenever whenever someone shares that video of him um like versus
facing off with kenya moore on watch what happens with andy cohen i'm like immediate retweet like
no and actually she should drag you and you should be like everything do it again get him again get
him for me you know my best friend was cast with michael rapaport oh wait yeah what were your some
initial reactions to the new traders casting i only knew monet exchange and michael rapaport i
didn't really know anyone else but that's because i didn't know him at all i didn't know him at all
because i don't watch a lot of i mean only reality tv shows i watch are like talent-based shows so
like uh uh top model drag race got talent american idol but when it's like he's like i'm um to be
honest the only show i watch that isn't like that kind of game that isn't that kind of reality tv
competition is the traders um which which i'm not gonna say that's not a talent but i mean like
performance talent all the other shows are about like some sort of performance talent like modeling
but i don't really watch shows like big brother i don't watch real housewives i don't watch any
shows that aren't competitive reality tv so i've never seen kardashians i've only seen a few episodes
of housewives um no love island for you no i don't watch love island either no like if it's not like
a talent-based competition show i'm by the way it's no shade on those shows it's just that it
doesn't appeal to me and i'm not one of those folks who doesn't watch kardashians and i think
it makes me better you know people who don't have tvs they think they're better than you because
they don't own a tv for sure hate them i'm not like it's not like that it's just i don't know
for whatever reason kardashians they just don't speak to me you know and it was and i'm not part
of the hate train probably because i just don't know enough about the kardashians to to press play
to yeah to to hate them and everything i learned about the kardashians has certainly been against
my will i've never looked up anything on the kardashians but i feel like i know enough about
them based on people's obsession with the kardashians yeah did you talk to monet about it
then have you spoken since like since
and what was did she have any big feelings about michael rock or was she fine with like
you know you'll have to tune in oh i see what you did there no no no i love it
i i i also have a huge respect for the creation of reality tv yeah um so i would never ever give
any spoilers of any kind yeah but did you give any advice no oh because i don't well one i didn't do
okay and i'm you know here we're all holding hands i'm glad you said it and i'm glad we
we were watching well to be clear i actually think i was good on the show i got a classic
reality tv double cross um i i think i could have gone further if boston rob hadn't um turned on me
um but boston rob so distrust even by his own admission with amongst the traitors and that's
why if you know every time a traitor was voted out of the castle it all the other traitors voted
for that person like there was never the traitors were never on the same page about anything they
were they were until i mean we were up until boston rob joined the turret but um when every
time dylan effron would bring up my name everyone was like bob like he brought up the first time and
no one voted for me they were like bob is not a traitor that doesn't even make sense and then
boston rob is really good at this kind of game he convinced dylan that dylan convinced him that i
was a traitor meanwhile obviously boston rob needed no convincing he knew i was a traitor
because he was with me in the turret um so then boston rob did his his um his uh uh persuasion
manipulation and his uh intimidation to get people on his side and then of course he put the nail in
his own coffin
by being so sure that i was a was a um uh a traitor when the only one something they say on the show
which is true there's only one way to know for sure if someone's a traitor and that is if you
are a traitor yeah he came at you 10 toes i was like you gotta come at least eight you know yeah
like at least have some uncertainty about it just just for you know just i'm always a loud type like
i've never been quiet anywhere this may shock you um so i would tell people if i
the way i was acting was not because i was a traitor i would have acted that way no matter
what i also never told any lies in the castle i never told a lie in that castle the only lie i
ever told in that castle was that i was a faithful which i had to like you legally have to tell that
lie contractionally the goal yeah yeah other than that i never told a lie in that castle never not
once never not one time that i told a lie which i thought would be enough to help me get through
because i was going off the merit of of honesty um but i i was not i i had not taken into account
how persuasive i was and i never told a lie in that castle and i never told a lie in that castle
could be and how he could use his powers of manipulation which i don't blame him but it's
a game i don't take anything boston rob did personally like literally at all uh he was just
but he's he's better at the game than i am because i've never done a game like that yeah do you have
any dream cast for who you would want on future seasons of the traitors yeah i would love to see
t.s manison on the show i would love to see nini leaks on the show immediately on my hands and
knees i would love to see um why have it brennan lee mulligan who is a comedian from um dimension
he's a comedian uh from um out uh from dropout i would see brennan lee mulligan on the show
i would love to see mistress isabel brooks um i would love to see i mean i could but my whole
cast would just everyone everyone would be queer it'd be over on logo if i was cast i won all queer
traitors i'm like that's actually just a queer experience we're doing this every day i mean
my season had a lot of queer people on it i was i was really impressed and i i do believe that it
permits uh advocating to get more queer people because she was the only out queer person on her
entire season but for me i mean besides alan cumming obviously but for me it was uh me carolyn
chrishell um uh bob harper uh was there some other bi people up in there somewhere
they're always somewhere uh gabby wendy um she's a lesbian so we had we had a lot of
queer representation on my season which i appreciate it
yeah i'm about to lose my lesbian card when i say i didn't know carolyn was a lesbian
she's not a lesbian she's or queer or any yeah well she doesn't talk about it but she's like
yeah i'm queer and oh yeah for sure i'll be okay not the voice oh yeah i'm queer
okay i want to switch gears for a little bit and ask you if have you been seeing like the
devil was prod a sequel like paparazzi shots i've heard some stuff but my my partner was telling me
that apparently like madonna was seen on set and that's the only thing i've heard because i'm like
kind of linked to madonna um but i don't know if that's true obviously i mean i but then it was it
was like it was just a picture of madonna like walking around new york city i was like how how
is this diverse product who who have you who have you who have you seen what have you seen well just
like um photos of meryl and um anne hathaway of course but now it's become a meme like because
all the photos from that set are like just people crossing the street basically they're like oh now
it's like al pacino maybe madonna i don't think she's in it is she well i was going to say a photo
of madonna crossing i mean in new york could be a day that ends in y yeah yeah yeah but i wondered
if you have any ideas or any thoughts on the fashion because some people are really up in
arms about like what they're what the costumes look like well let me look at uh devil hold on
let me look it up
devil wears prada uh prada to what has that been uh like bts yeah maybe bts while you look that up
i actually i want to go back a little bit oh sorry yeah um which is what is your relationship
to devil wears prada i think it's a brilliant movie i think it is it's one of my favorite
movies well not one of my favorites i would give it it's in my top 30 for sure i think it is
remarkably quotable i think that uh meryl streep this is one of her best performances in my humble
opinion um this uh no i don't it's maybe top five or top seven anne hathaway performances i think
she actually did a really good job in les mis and she did a great job in catwoman actually i believe
um but the movie itself is so great i did not know stanley tucci was straight
i'm like that was another very gay role
did you see easy a with stanley tucci no well no the first two standing movies the first two
stanley tucci movies i saw were devil wears prada immediately followed by burlesque and i was like
this thing again okay go ahead on easy age of that list and you'll be like no at the bare minimum he's
by and there's another actor who plays gay really well the guy the the uh the the big guy from uh
from modern family in the couple he's straight no he's straight he's straight are we sure yeah
positive eric mccormick from uh will and grace will straight
and every time that surprises me eric mccormick is straight isn't that crazy
wow actors are talented i'll say give them the emmy right now yeah i think those guys do play
gay really well like in a way that i don't actually find offensive and i actually think
it's pretty uh you know like well uh wesley snipes plays gay did you watch too long food
no no two oh my y'all don't even know too long food how old are y'all guess
we're 30 i'm assuming oh no one was like 30 no no because what about me up oh well i'm assuming
you're both 30 or you're probably 29 or 31 yeah yeah yeah i mean but too long food is what she
said
30 i was gonna guess like 27 so i was pretty close actually but um but yeah uh two he plays
gay and too long food and he does it he does a really good job it seems genuinely quite authentic
i actually was gonna say i don't want stanley chuchi to play straight like that doesn't that's
not gonna feed me but he's a good man savannah he's a good husband in every movie he's been in
he's a good man okay so you mentioned very quotable movie i have to know do you have a
favorite quote from devil wasp
from devil wasp rada yeah yeah it's not anyone else's favorite it's just my favorite in this
scene where she's slamming her coat down on the table over and over again one of the and apparently
she was um improvving all these lines one of my favorite quotes is she goes where is that piece
of paper i had in my hand yesterday that is such a funny line to me outrageous demands and one of
where is that piece of paper i had in my hand yesterday what a ridiculous thing to ask one of
your associates or your
employees to be able to rise to the occasion of but that's also like luxury that's well yeah
that's like that's money yeah that's kind of veep coated too it feels oh very very deep coated
where's that piece of paper i had in my hand yesterday that's my favorite quote from the movie
hands down did you have a chance to look at the clothes well i'm looking at pictures i see i see
a picture of anne hathaway wearing a gray suit um but i i mean the short answer is i think that
what they're wearing i'm not like any style fashion out or anything but this all looks
really nice but i also feel like in devils product the first one um everything wore looks really nice
but it is in line with anna wintour like anna wintour it doesn't dress flashy so you're not
gonna see anna wintour wearing the wedding dress from the collection you're gonna see anna wintour
wearing like something anna wintour looked like she could be wearing nordstrom rack but just more
expensive you know what i mean so i think that what you know i'm not expecting to see anna wintour
them to be wearing like some crazy runway stuff because it doesn't seem like it would fit the
characters because a lot of time people who are making clothes and making fashion and making
these decisions they're not wearing anything too crazy yeah but they should have boots i mean that
was that was like a loud outfit that was a lot of it but then now it's like you know it's a quieter
prince dead so what can they really do they don't have the money like that anymore no it is giving
nordstrom rack now yeah but meryl streep but i said but wealthier though like we'd wear nordstrom
rack which is obviously like something that
no doubt traveled through some bargain bin where you no doubt you know we wear the lumpy blue
sweaters you know what i mean and and they're wearing the high quality version of the lumpy
blue sweater um so i will say this every picture i see they certainly look expensive and i have
no doubt that they are incredibly expensive yeah okay i like that i like that read i think
i think people are being a little bit too harsh about the outfit i think so too yeah i think
they're also meant to be like not uh a little bit more timeless and not timely yeah yeah yeah
and also these are the end of winter stepping down oh of course but i mean who's gonna replace her
i mean she's a woman of a certain age we gotta let this lady retire it's not her it's not her
she's like it ain't my my fucking job to find a place in me i'm old we gotta let her we gotta
encourage her but she's she's stepping down of as editor-in-chief of vogue but she's still staying
on at conde nest so she's not leaving entirely we're formally maybe so we're you know i think
anna wintour is how old is she anna wintour is uh according to google she is 75 years old
so that's time that's beyond time do you know any 75 girls
do you know any 75 girls in a real life waiting for her to take no it's it's like giving like
biden like drop out yeah please anna wintour was born in
1949 1949 that's crazy that was no and like the little chat
it's like okay we're locked in winter age yeah she she was born i mean look at some of the crazy
stuff that's happened that that has happened like when we think about stuff that happened
after she was born it would probably blow our minds the board of education
that happened after she was born that was after i mean jeez okay well speaking of history oh yeah
perfect how was that transition that was real smooth um we want to talk about your book
harriet tubman live in concert um first say do you know what pop my butt meant to harriet tubman
can i say that i am in a yanla that meant i'm in a whip can i say that i am in a yanla vanzette
super fan but kind of in the worst way possible because i i
i think that oprah had this period of time where she was releasing these uh people onto us as
experts and they were actually like really bad at their jobs like dr oz like dr phil dr phil dr oz
rachel ray um ayanla vanzette um suzy orman was she one i don't know if suze orman was was was
oprah girly or not but i love watching like have you ever i used to go through this clip of uh
these clips of ayanla vanzette
refusing to work with people on her own show have you seen these clips
no no so like if someone is too difficult to yell a yellow just be like i'm out this is not my
ministry i don't need this it's like we're at your job you do need this this is literally your
job i didn't reach out to y'all y'all you know there would be times where like a guest would
be too difficult and a yanla vanzette would be like i'm over it um i'm walking and or she would
she would make people like do she would yell at her
people you're not on my watch yeah of course do you remember when she made the man have all
the dolls hold all like the the baby do i remember it oh you're like i was there
which she made the man uh whisper into the hole in the ground talking to that hole talking to
that hole put your mouth right over that hole let me just go in the bush and we powerful woman
in america i need her on trade north and south yeah yeah honestly ayanla vanzette would probably
be great on trade i love that auntie walker i love that auntie walker i love that auntie walker
she got oh my god she would be great on traders oh let's get that petition going please please
not on my watch will you banish another black woman because if you banish her you would banish
me and you do not have my permission to banish me okay so you're off book you're off book
yeah period oh i needed that laugh wow okay okay um no but we do have serious questions so
did the idea of harriet tubman linking up with a music producer first come to you well my idea i
remember one day just thinking to myself man i would if if harriet tubman had an album i would
write i would listen to it that was literally what it was i would if harriet had an album i
would listen to it like if harriet had a hip-hop album i would listen to it and i actually was
writing this um play before i was writing it as a book and the producer wasn't in there and at that
point which is hair just wrote this all herself and then i got a book deal and they were trying
stories and i was like nah i don't really want to write a biography especially not at this point
my life like at this point my life my biography wouldn't be great because back when when i got
the deal i was like i haven't even done my i haven't even done my big one yet you know i still
think to this day i haven't done my big one like i have a real big one to me somewhere at some point
we'll we'll we'll get to see what it is i don't even know what it is yet but um i i remember
thinking to myself i'm trying i tried to write the the book as a show like as if the whole book
is just one show happening and it became kind of too difficult for me it's my first novel
so then i um thought about what it would be like if harriet tubman had to team up with had to hire
someone to help her uh produce this album um and that's kind of how that how that came to me it was
it was it was born out of necessity also um what's your favorite fact or detail about harriet tubman's
life there i mean it's really really hard to choose i'll just i'll i'll pick one or maybe a
few i love that harriet tubman um uh is a veteran a lot of people don't know this but harriet tubman
is a veteran she's actually ranked as a general in maryland as a one-star general in maryland
and she's the first woman to ever lead a wartime military mission which i also find very not just
first black woman first woman to lead a wartime military mission wow um harriet tubman lived to
be almost 100 years old harriet tubman was under five feet tall short came um period short and
sweet um harriet i mean i i could go on and on about my my favorite things about harriet tubman
yeah wow and have you always had this like lifelong fascination with her or how did that uh
originally i would say maybe starting in like middle school like where y'all from oklahoma los
los angeles oklahoma and la y'all in la right now no we're in new york new york city um i i'm
from georgia and you know i don't know how they do in the rest of the country but in georgia we
take black history month very very it's black history year i'm from atlanta i'm from i'm from
the home of martin luther king so we are we go hard for black history month so you know during
our book reports and stuff and during georgia history um i would just learn about harriet
tubman not in georgia history because harriet tubman never went to georgia um but
i would during black history month or you know u.s studies i just uh i was always fascinated
by it because every time you every time you go down a deep dive learning about harriet tubman
you will always learn more than you did the first time you'll always find something new that she did
that just seems that seems like there's no way this woman possibly did this but there are tons
of historians who can corroborate that she did indeed do all that stuff yeah wow i love that i
love i love education i think people also think that harriet tubman was doing all that stuff as
she didn't she was doing it in her 20s oh not maybe immediately be like i accomplished nothing
yeah like i've suddenly been in the club because we see we see images of harriet tubman and she's
an older woman there are women as well but we see her as an older woman that's because harriet
tubman was like as they say moving in silence when she was um um you know as kendrick lamar said
keep your head down and work like i do they were they were seeing all of all that stuff was after
she had been made infamous all after she had after she had already done these
work on underground railroad and after the emancipation proclamation had been signed
that's when you start seeing pictures of harriet tubman i feel like i already learned so many
things even from i didn't know she was short i didn't know how old did she live till about like
93 wow i love that was certainly not the life expectancy then it's not the life expectancy now
yeah yeah yes especially for black women but i like the idea of like bringing this history
short people live longer oh well period oh here for a good time and a long time i'm tall passing
how tall y'all yes yes okay i'm assuming you're about the same height and you're probably like
five two five three wait okay not too much let's start with a five four that's crazy okay five four
i mean i mean if you listen if you so what's wrong with being five two what you got against
people what you go what you got against your listeners who are five two i don't have anything
against five two people that's not my experience i'm five three i said five two everything comes
back to nikki minaj at the end of the day of course i was thinking about her too while we're
but i was trying to be normal she's like five two in nikki's defense she didn't say i am five two
she said i'm like five two and five three is like five two in many states this is crazy this is
crazy um okay but bob thank you so much for joining us and um we always ask where can people follow
you where people find you oh you can go to bob bob the drag queen.com and if you want to see me on

it has taken so much of me to not suggest having the hunting wives as like a full
segment on this podcast you have suggested that i did what do you yeah you did oh i okay
giving delusion oh well it's been a long week i was with my mother no because i i did watch
actually you did yeah i've watched quite a bit of it actually you did yeah did and you survived
barely by the skin of my by the hair of my chinny chin chin i can't stop watching i was like how the
other half lives let's really quickly politically and on the gender sexuality spectrum no there's
it's basically a show about republican gunslinging republicans who also scissor okay and maybe we do
Check it next week, let's see if we follow up.
has made me um horny and also mildly homophobic for sure that's where you that's where you rest
naturally that's like that's like you're at ease that's like your resting heart rate is
horny and also homophobic and that's you mind you um no it was between you talking about in a
meeting and george severus talking about it like oh my my hunting wives it was like a funny like
screenshot from uh gregory's little woman but i don't know maybe laughing out but i was like okay
well let me just turn this shit on and see what they're talking about um i will say not family
friendly i was actually the roomie and i had to cover her eyes i was like so much areola it's
insane yeah and and the wigs the wigs yeah the war on wigs we got it it's not what's going on
it's a war on hairlines that's what it's a war on and let me tell you the wigs are winning um
no i did watch it um and i guess come back
yeah i think we might have to get into me talking about it because it was a lot if you see me on the
street kind of looking frazzled and scared it's because i've just watched the hunting wives just
watch another app i've never wanted to shoot a gun more i'll say i think we should learn just
so we know how yeah anyway yeah i don't know anyway i went to coney island period a few
weekends ago that doesn't seem like your safe space well it was it was actually going great
until i was with like some friends and i was like oh my god i'm like oh my god i'm like oh my god i'm
friends of friends and i can't remember how this came about someone oh we're talking about um
beyonce tour paris got the miley cyrus two most wanted yeah and one of the people i was with was
like oh well miley like why did why did she bring her out were they white no oh and you know me
i feel like what like my friend there looked right at me and i was like well let me just stop you
right there because okay who among us has gone through so much life for only being 31 years old
worked like a i don't even know what on disney channel lived to tell the tale like a slave
like i mean she worked more than demi lovato selena gomez almost i mean it's like her raven
simone she also had that whole youtube channel remember that when she was bickering with all the
when she was bullying oh when she was bullying yes yes i mean the joe was it the joe jonas
relationship um nick jonas well she was bullying demi lovato and selena gomez on youtube right but
she's also being bullied by the people who were running that show because why is she at the worst
talking about her schedule radio hit radio hit radio hit it's truly club bus plane another club
but for the disney generation i'm just imagining you giving this whole speech on a roller coaster
did and did no we were actually eating hot dogs i said and actually another thing too do you remember
the liam hemsworth of it all god forbid remember malibu allergy commercial where she was like i'm
trying to save my marriage because my husband wants a docile woman although malibu is a good
song perfect perfect song truly i was like and she loves beyonce on top of all of it i mean this is a
before i lose you to the gospel no she's starting did you convince i did i did you make her believer
the whole table fell silent i said you've actually activated the wrong one today and then you pressed
play on two most wanted and said we're gonna and i said this is the best song in the whole album
so how about that so wake that up so who did you want to see oh and not to mention all the family
she said all my life i've had to fight jesus christ no i'm sorry you know how i get i know
