The Love Advice Episode

The live love advice segment features real-time conversations with callers on diverse relationship topics, centered around authenticity. The hosts, including Lil Dicky, Dave, and Kristen, emphasize that being genuine—through emotions, laughter, or vulnerability—is more powerful than trying to be polished or game-like. A caller with a gym crush is advised to join a fitness class to build a connection naturally, avoiding pressure. Another shares that honesty in dating, especially about future plans, is vital for long-term commitment, while a relationship advice takeaway highlights the importance of emotional openness in long-term partnerships. The hosts also validate personal choices like medical marijuana use, framing them as healthy and non-hindering to love. A heartfelt message to a Cancer sign girlfriend underscores the value of emotional support, active listening, and daily affirmations. The segment concludes with a lighthearted note of real-life spontaneity—when Selena, a Cancer, unexpectedly joins the conversation—demonstrating that genuine connection, not scripted advice, is at the heart of meaningful relationships. The overall message celebrates realness, vulnerability, and emotional honesty as the foundation of lasting love.

- Hello. - We have what it takes to give a little love advice. - Hola, Benny, como estas? - Hey, how you doing? - Lil Dicky and his woman. - Woof, woof, woof, woof. - Tell us everything. - All right, next caller. - Oh, I love you so much. - There you go, that's what I'm thinking. - We love you. - We're here for you. Look at us now. - Now. - What? - Just sounds like you have something to say. - I do have something to say. You know-- - How long have you been holding it in, whatever you're about to tell us? I know what he's gonna say. - What I was going to say is I just shaved a bunch of, I just shaved a bunch of-- - You almost had it. - No, what I really was gonna say is me and Dave are kind of like unicorns, okay? And I'd like to explain why. I think we look so strange. - I don't look strange. - And, Chuck, you look insane. Chuck, if you weren't Dave, you, it's like-- you look insane. - No, I don't think so. - Nope, yes, you do. - I don't look insane. - Yeah, you do. The only thing-- - I don't think he looks insane. - Of course you don't. You're crazy enough to marry him. - I think I look like cute guy at the bar. You look like the movie Gremlins. - Chuck, you look identical to me. Chuck, but I'm saying we aren't traditional hot men. But we've somehow been able to spin the world in our direction. And land the most intelligent, beautiful, kindhearted women in the world. - Me too, right? - You're involved in that. - You're talking about me? - You're one of them. - Yeah, yeah, one of the two. - Level-headed. - I said me too, you know? - I just think we have what it takes to give a little love advice. - You know, no one really seeks me out for advice, I'll tell you that much. - I do. - Oh, well, no one says, "Hey, could you give me some advice?" I guess they just talk to me, and then I-- but no one says, like-- "Hey, like, can I get some advice?" Like, no one ever asks me that. - Really? I've asked you for advice. - I guess you have, you do. - I've asked you so many times. - You do, you said-- - We ask each other constantly. - I guess you're right. - Chuck, I literally send you texts where I'm like, "I need five minutes, I need some advice immediately." - You do, you do. - And then Dave says, "Can't working." - No. - Yeah, most of-- - No, when you say, "I need some advice," I always-- - No, not always. You say, sometimes you say, "Can it wait?" - You give good advice. - Yeah. - Yeah, I wanna know if it can wait. - Yeah, sometimes it can. - Sometimes it can wait, for sure. - Sometimes it can. Mochi, I feel like you would give really sound-- - She's the best. - Really sound advice as well. - Yeah, but, yeah. - You're like smart, but you're also like kooky, and you get both sides of the coin. - But when I feel pressure on anything, I can't perform. - Do you feel pressure now? - Mm-hmm. All of a sudden, I feel the weight of the world. - Really? - I don't think you should. There's no reason for that. - Well, lucky for you, we got a few cards of callers waiting for us. Now, we've never done this sort of thing, so I don't even know if it works. - So you're telling me that there are people, and this is not fake, this is, there are people sitting there right now at the same time in life as us, and they'll talk to us live, and we say something back. - I tried to set this up. I had people write in things on Instagram over the last week, and then I had no part in this, but the men in there built up a sort of system where it's like a calling situation. Like, I don't even know where their speakers are. - So start a call. - Does it work? - Start a call. - Can we start a call? - I'm nervous. - Okay, okay, okay. - I'm scared. - Okay. - I've never been more nervous. - Oh my God, look, he's got a little hat. - I don't like that hat on Hashiba. - I like it. - Hello? - Hello. - Who's this? - It's Shantanu. - Where are you? Where in the world are you, Shantanu? - I'm, where in the world am I? I'm just in the country, probably the country north. I'm in Canada. - Oh. - Oh, lucky you. - So what's going on? How can we help you? Do you need advice? - First of all, it's nice to speak to everyone. Benny, it was so cool that you did this social media thing and it was nice that we're actually connecting. Even if it looks quite invisible, I feel like I'm connecting with you guys. So nice to meet you to begin with. - You too. - We're connected. - We're live, this is real life, baby. - It feels like you're in the room with us. - Yeah. - Oh yeah, and it's, yeah. And yeah, I'm glad you're giving, I'm glad you're, providing dating advice because this is a world which I'm, hopefully I'd be getting into at some point in my life. - Hell yeah. - For example, the main question which I asked is that I'm someone who is a very emotionally deep person and someone who likes to build systems for, you know, presence and all that. So it's because I'm someone who feels a lot and I'm someone who's long, long ago struggled socially a lot. But there's something which I wanted to ask about that. So like in dating, again, you always, you often have tips on how to be polished and make the best first impression. Like it's a corporate setting, but I'm someone who likes to lead with realness and emotions and make people feel less alone. And I want someone who gets that. So basically I was wondering is being real too early what drives people away? Or is it like how you find the right person? Like what is the best advice, for example, for balancing realness with polish? And you know, what's the best way to go about it when you meet someone? Should you, for example, be more real so that it takes longer, but you find the right person? Or should you be, should you follow the polish rule and then, you know, wait for a long time until that person picks you? - Okay, I'm going to chime in first then I'll let the boys go, if that's okay. Only because- - Yeah, absolutely. - I've struggled with this because I feel like, so I met Dave when I was 30, but I'd been in a lot of relationships, but I always felt like I was being too much of myself and that myself wasn't working. And then with Dave, I actually was like, okay, for the first time, I'm actually going to try not to be myself and like, try to do this thing that I think would like, get me like a long-term boyfriend that would then lead to marriage. And it turns out once, and I think we had like a slow start. And I feel like you said to me, you were like, it wasn't until you started like being yourself that I actually started to like you. And I think at the end of the day, you're never going to be able to mask for that long. Like, you want to be yourself. You want to find a partner who loves you for you. So you have to be yourself and yourself is perfect. And like people like women, like love, is it? Yeah. Whoever loves that you are your, like, I think being yourself will allow other people to be themselves and you're only ever going to be able to be yourself. So you should just start with being yourself. - Yeah. You'll be the most appreciated doing that. And two, by being yourself, you'll really cut through the clutter of nonsense of like game playing, dating, and you'll just like really get to the meat of the whole thing, which is like, am I compatible with this person? So I suggest being yourself. - Here's what I think. I think, first of all, there's a saying that says, be yourself because everyone else is taken. That's number one. And number two is you're allowed, if you don't have, like I sense you don't have a ton of experience dating or anything. And I think rather than trying to sound like a cool guy or like going about it a different way, you should, you just tell people, you should just like, when you're talking to a girl, you should be like, hey, I'm sorry, I'm like a little nervous right now. 'Cause you're like, or if you're talking to a guy or girl, however it is, like be like, you know, I'm a little bit nervous right now. You know, I haven't been in this situation many times. And like, you're such a beautiful person. And people like to hear that how beautiful they are. And they also like to hear like how honest and real you're being because they can't turn down. Like you can't just say like, oh, fuck you. You know what I mean? And you being yourself gives everybody around you permission to be themselves. And people are drawn to that. Like that's like the type of energy that you want to put out in the world is like, you're not scared to be who you are because there's nothing wrong with who you are. And I think a lot of people are like attracted to that sort of confidence and energy. - Realness is king, especially you'll see. Yeah. - That's great advice. I wanted to ask a very quickly. So, you know, like I have the habit. So I express myself quite loudly. I laugh quite loudly. If I find something funny, I express my feelings. Sometimes I get vulnerable quite fast. I'm easy to say that I'm having a hard time. You know, I'm just wondering that with a partner or a date, does that put them off or should I do it? Because it might, as you said, encourage them to open up faster as well. - I think you should do whatever feels right in the moment and then just go into the moment always telling yourself it doesn't matter if they receive it how you want it to be received. Just like, just keep being you and don't get in your head about it. - Everybody, everybody respects realness. You are who you are. If someone can't respect someone for being themselves and they're not worth hanging out with. - What's your laugh sound like? - I mean, it's hard to like do it without something funny, but you know, if something funny happens, you know, most people would just like do like something like that. One small laugh, but I will go a little louder. Some, it's some, if it's very hilarious, I'll be guffawing so loud. So it just depends. I'm not, I'm not. - Yeah, I might do that sometimes if something's funny, but I tend to be squashed somewhat louder than, you know, the group if something's funny. So I just hope that wouldn't be, that wouldn't put off a partner. - Just say how you feel. - I wanna hear him laugh. 'Cause you're gonna get, you're gonna get to the right person. - I remember my, the thing that I liked about Kristen the most was her honesty. Realness can't lose. - I believe that so much. And I'm glad you all believe that, you know, I really want to collaborate with you guys because not everyone gets that. And even from my own family, I get the advice you've got. "It'll be polished." And some people don't get it. So I really, really, I'm glad you guys match exactly that vibe. Like for God's sake, For God's sake, we have generative AI. Like, if you're going to be so polished and fake, just stop to chat GPT. Like, the whole fun of talking to people. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Be real, we don't, we're sick of all the pallet. We're sick of the polished fake shit. - That's rough right there. - We're, we're. - There we go, that was something cool. That amazing advice, this call feels more real than most of the first dates I ever imagined. So like, thanks, yeah, thanks so much, guys. And I really, really hope to, I mean, I'm not sure how likely it is, but it'd be so nice to stay in touch with you guys. - Yeah, we'll keep in touch. - Because you guys get it. - Go out there, date, and then when we do another one of these, we'll do like, where are they now? - Yeah, exactly. - And you report back to us. But you have to keep in mind that you have to be yourself the entire time, and you'll be dominating. You'll be like, I'm flooded in opportunities. - Thank you guys, thank you. - Bye. - Bye. - So sweet. - Hello. - Hey, hello. - Hi, how are you? - Hi, so my name is Teresa, and I have a question regarding love and food. - Okay. - We're here for ya. - Well, I'm not the greatest cook, so what is the ideal late snack after doing the, you know, the deed? - Snack is the-- - Yeah. - After you have sex, and you're relaxing. - Oh, no, I don't wanna eat anything. I wanna rinse off, get all the stuff off the body, get right to sleep. - Rinse off? - Yeah, he has to rinse off. But that's probably a question for you. - You have to rinse off after you have sex every time? - I would like to. I'm thinking way more about rinsing off than going and getting an Oreo. - Oysters. - I think about food. - You want oysters in bed? - Do you think oysters would be good? I think oysters, or maybe after. - We're giving her advice. - I like a frozen York peppermint patty. - Mm, I'll do a Popsicle. - I feel like salty and sweet. - Thank you so much for calling in. We appreciate it. - Yep. - Bye. - Thank you. - Good one, bye. - Bye. - All right, next call. - Caller. - Hi, hello. - Hi. - Hi. - Hi, so my name is Lucy, and me and my boyfriend are together for three and a half years, and I have to say that our relationship is really awesome, and I'm really grateful for that. So I was thinking if you could come up with some prank that I could do on him to spice something, so. - Oh, I love that. She wants to-- - Spice something. - You wanna like, you wanna spice it up or you wanna like-- - A prank. - Change it up. - A prank to spice it. - Like-- - I like to spice it up, like-- - So it's a sexual prank? - Like brings a little bit of fun. - Oh, sexual. - Yeah, like in the bedroom? - No, no, no sexual play, like some fun prank, you know. - Oh, oh, oh, just to scare-- - To fuck with him. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Oh, okay. - That's cool, so a prank. Well, what type of guy is he? Tell us a little bit about him. - Oh, he is a really chill guy, you know, and he is always put together. - He's gonna be a hard guy to prank. - He's really friendly and outgoing and hard-worn, yeah. - My prank, it would be, he comes home, you're on the couch, you turn to him and you say, "I have news for you," and he says, "What is it?" And you say, "I did ancestry.com," or whatever it is, "and we are first cousins." - Oh, I like that. - Oh. - And then you could be like, "Honestly, "don't worry about it, like, I still love you. "It's not weird between me, "if it's not weird between you. "We can just, like, move forward, nobody has to know." But they don't even make you take tests anymore to get married, like, you don't have to give your blood, so you really are good to go. And then we'll see, then you let us know how it goes. - Okay. - Okay, I have an idea. My idea's kind of the same. No, you know what you should do? Actually, you know what you should do? Okay, does he have siblings? - Yes, he does. - A brother or sister? - A sister. - A younger brother. - Okay, here's what you do. You set up a whole situation where he thinks his brother's kidnapped, okay? And you're, like, talking with the person that's the hostage, like, or with the person that's keeping him hostage, and it's on the phone, and he hears it's your brother, and her brother, and he's like, "Oh, I don't wanna." And he's like, "You gotta do whatever we say." And you keep making the things more and more ridiculous, what you have to do. Like, you're talking on the phone, and you're like, "The guy's telling me I gotta do this." And it's like, jump up on one, like, and you come up with all these different crazy things that you have to do that are so funny and outlandish, and you keep it going for so long, and then all of a sudden, the brother bursts in, and everyone, yeah. - All right. - That sounds amazing. - Yes. - Good luck. - Mine's amazing. Which one was your favorite? - I think Benny's. - Yes. - Well, thank you, and good luck, and let us know how it goes. We'll see you on the other side. Bye. - Good luck. - Bye. Hello? - Hello? - Hi. - Hi. - You're amazing, I can hear you guys. How are you? - We're good, how you doing? - Who are you? - You say, "Who are you?" I'm Mare. - Ooh, Mare. - Mare? - I like that name. Mare, Mare. - Yeah, that's my name for this on-air thing. - Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa. - Keeping it up here. - Oh, name. - Tell us everything, tell us everything. - Well, I was calling in. First of all, the concept is so exciting, so that's what really dragged me into calling, 'cause I think it's so fun, and I also love Benny Blanco. - Yeah, me too. - And I was calling in because I'm in a five-year relationship, and I'm 25. I've been with him for all of my 20s, and we're in a very healthy, loving relationship, but now that I'm getting older, I just wanna know how it's gonna progress and how he's gonna show the clear-cut signs that this is like a forever Benny Blanco, Selena Gomez kind of love, 'cause I want that. And yeah, I was just excited to call in, and I really didn't think it would get anywhere, but now that it is, I'm excited to see what, yeah, what your take is. - Look, look, five years, you're at that like pivotal moment now, and like-- - Exactly. - I think it's like that moment where it's like, "Oh, is this gonna become a thing? Is it not?" Is it, you know, people, you were feeling that with Dave, oh, sorry. You're with Dave Bird, AKA Lil Dicky, and you're-- - Yes, I know, I'm so excited about that. Lil Dicky and his woman, I'm so excited about that. - You should say his woman, she's like, "Ooh, ooh, ooh." - That's me, I'm his woman. - We're gonna say two things. - I love it. - First, Kristen's gonna say her predicament when she was in it with Dave about how she wanted him to, you know, pop the question and get more serious and stuff, and then I'm gonna say my situation with Selena. - Well, look, I gave Dave a ultimatum. - Timeline, I'd say a timeline. It was an ultimatum, but it was one that I, that I didn't find too aggressive. She basically said, you know, if we're not, like we'd already been dating for two years, and she said, you know, if by a year and a half from now, like, we're not engaged, I'm probably gonna have no choice but to leave, and I thought to myself, wow, I kind of am already ready to pull the trigger, and I get an extra year and a half, so, and I just had something that like, I had a marker, at least, that I just knew I had to do it in time, and I didn't, it was so not like-- - Yeah, but to be fair, I had been in a previous relationship for five years where I never had the conversation, like when I went into my relationship with Dave from the get-go, I kind of dropped a lot of hints of like, is this a dead end? Like, you know, I pushed, I pretty much pushed our entire relationship to the next level. I'd be like, if people asked if you have a girlfriend, what would you say? Like, I really progressed it because when I was 24, I was in a relationship for five years, and I didn't talk about it, and I just, I didn't know how to transition to the conversation, and when I did, it didn't really pan out in a way that worked out well for my needs, but I think you just have to start, just rip the bandaid and just start talking about it, you know? Just start, yeah, chat. - I love that. - When I was dating Selena in the beginning, we were dating, nothing, there was nothing concrete yet, and she was going away to New York, and it was 3:30 in the morning, and she goes, "Hey," and I'm like, I'm asleep, she goes, "Hey, "are you awake?" And I'm sleeping, of course, and then she goes, "Hey, hey, hey," and she keeps tapping me, and finally I wake up, and she said, "Hey, are you awake?" And I said, "I am now," and then she said, "Hey, what are we?" And I said, "What?" And she said, "Yeah, what are we?" And I said, "What do you mean, what are we?" And she said, "Well, I'm going to New York, "if somebody asks me, hey, what are you and Benny, "what am I supposed to say?" And I said, "I don't know." I said, "What are you supposed to say?" And she said, "Well, I'm asking you." And in that very moment, I realized that she was my girlfriend, and I had no other, I didn't really have an option, and I wanted it. - Yeah, yeah. - And she gave me the helpful nudge that I needed, and I think maybe you can have a talk with her and just be like, hey, we've been dating for a while. Like, what do you see? - Or just use the line, if somebody asks if you're gonna marry her, what would you say? - That's so much harder than dating. - I think we can just cut to the chase. - No, girlfriend, it's so much harder. And she's still young, so he's still, how old is he? - I'm 20, he's a year older than me, 26. And we've had like, we've had those little conversations of like, the future and like, what's next? But it's more like, is he taking the correct steps to show me that that's like, you know? - Do you feel like he's-- - Sometimes yes, sometimes no. So that's initially why I was, you know? - When you see your future, do you have a little bit of hesitation? - Like, yes. And that's maybe because I've always just had hesitation and commitment, first of all. But with him, just because it's getting so real that I'm like, oh my God, now I have to like, the rest of my life, or it's not. So that's why it's like-- - You are young. - Like you said, the pivotal point, you know? - You're 20, you're 25, I didn't even get engaged till I was 34. - Yeah, no, exactly. And it is, it's like you said, it's so easy to get confused 'cause they put such like a, "This is what it should look like." But yeah, no, I do agree that-- - It's all bullshit. - It's like-- - There's so much time, I just-- - There's so much more time. - Yeah. - Don't fall for it, I fall for it, don't do it. - Look-- - It's true. - It's everywhere, everyone's talking like that now. Like, there's so much time, so much life out there, whatever, it's, yeah. - Take it all, look, take it day by day, but he should make you feel like the beautiful woman you are and he should make you feel wanted. And even if you aren't gonna get married, he should make you feel like he wants to marry you eventually, and I-- - But he might not, Dave didn't do that, but I didn't let that slow me down. Like, so long as you are true to what you want and you're not sacrificing anything, like, just move forward, stay in your own lane, and then you'll get to your own finish line. - Oh, that was kind of good. - Yeah, that's so true. - That was a good little line. - Yeah, yeah. - Well, thank you so much for calling in, and we appreciate you. - Thank you guys so much. I hope the segment goes well, thank you. - It was amazing, we love you, thank you, bye. - Thank you. - Next caller. - Check, I like this. - Hello? - Hello? - Hi. - Hi, everyone. - How are you doing? - I'm good, how is everyone doing? - Oh, we're good, we're just hanging out, getting ready to give you some real good love advice. - Okay. - Spill the tea. - Okay, so I joined the gym, decided to do something for myself, and not deal with any sort of relationship, situation-ship, et cetera, and go figure that there's this trainer there, and it's been a huge crush ever since. I can't join her class, or even interact. I'm turning red speaking about it, so that's, yeah, that's it. I'm not sure how to even-- - You have a crush? - A huge crush, apparently. - Oh my gosh, are you nervous talking about it now? - Yes, I'm red talking about it. - Okay, first of all, what's your name? - Liz. - Okay, Liz. Have you said, have you made contact with the crush? - We've made eye contact. That's as far as the contact has gone. - How many times have you gone and tried to make eye contact? - A good, maybe, four to six times. - Oh, so you're really, you're at the point where you gotta say something soon, right? - Yes, pretty much. - Okay. - Do you know anything about her? - Nope, just know her name, that she's been training at this gym for a while, working there for a good couple of years, and that's the limited amount of information. - So you have the perfect runway to just enter the class, like sign up for the class, and then stay, it's exciting, stay after the class and just-- - No, it's so hard, I don't even know what you'd say. It's such a, it's a kind of a hard place to hit on someone. - No, can't you kind of just be like, hey, I loved your, that class, that you start there. - What type of class is this? - It's like basically kickboxing, cardio. - Oh my God, it's so hard, so hard. Are you good at all this stuff? - Yes, absolutely not. - Oh, you're not, are you like super athletic, or no, not really? - No, not really, I just did this because I've been pushed, and then I was like, you know what, I'm gonna do it, and I like it, but then the classes are like, people that actually know what they're doing, I'm not there. - So you wouldn't, you would definitely not be doing this class if it wasn't for this crush, right? You would have moved on to a different hobby? - No, I would still keep going to the gym, I just-- - You just wanna do the class. - You wouldn't-- - I don't join those classes. - But whether or not you're good at it doesn't matter, I think it's actually even like, it's actually better that this is like out of your comfort zone, because I still think it's like sweet and cute at the end, to go up and say, I really enjoyed that class, I never do this, like-- - Yeah, you could be like, oh my God, I need like, I need like so much help on like this, like you being, like the worse you are at this is like the better, she has to give you like special treatment, she has to like, yeah, I think like you're like-- - You can run with this. - Yeah, you could run with this for like a good month, and just like really get to know her. - Yeah, you guys could talk for like kind of, yeah, and it's-- - Oh, it's perfect, you can ask her for advice, you'd be like, hey, this part of the class was like a little bit challenging for me. - And no matter what, I think initially, she's probably going to like approach it pretty professional, and like, even if she was interested, she kind of has to like uphold a barrier, and you're not going to go up to her and be like, hey, like-- - Hey, wanna fuck? Like, it's like-- - So just get over, it's kind of nice, you have like this icebreaker where you're like, have to talk kind of professionally, and then you can ease into it, and-- - It's really cool. - You can build the relationship organically, and then you can get more information, and kind of decide how you want to get in. - Yeah, I like it, it's making me red, like thinking about it, it's like such a good idea. - Okay, so it's to join the class and go from there. - Oh yeah. - Yeah, you've got to join the class. - Yeah, I think you just join the class, and you like slowly, you're like, this is a long game, this isn't today or tomorrow, like you like work your way into it, and it's good because you're pushing yourself. You wanted to like work out more, too. This is like, you're getting like a bang for your buck, no matter what happens, you're like, great. Do you know if she likes women or no? - I have no idea, and I don't want to push too many things. - Even better. - This is even cooler. - Even if she doesn't, she doesn't know you yet. - Yeah, exactly. - And if she doesn't, she'll never, like that's the good thing about it, is like, she'll just see you as like a, you know, a girlfriend, so you're never gonna, she's not gonna be like, oh, she has a crush on me. It's always, you have the perfect in, 'cause it's just gonna be so professional, and so just like, girl to girl, so you can get all the information. - Yeah, we're gonna have to keep up with you. We're gonna like, we're gonna have to call you back for like another thing. I need to know what happens in a month. - An update on the tea. - I would love it. - Thank you, and good luck. - Thank you. I appreciate all the feedback. - I love when Dave just cuts it off immediately. - I think it's inappropriate to hit on someone at the gym. - I think everybody does it. I think it's just like, it's par for the course. - It's actually an interesting debate. What I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go to Yahoo Scout, and I'm gonna say, is it inappropriate to hit on your instructor at the gym? And I'm gonna find out, 'cause I-- - I guess it is like a, it's not just like hitting on a normal person, it's hitting on like your, yeah, then you know what, it might be. It might be. I actually take it back. - Well, let's see what Yahoo Scout says. - Yeah, let's see. - Approaching a fitness instructor for a date is generally viewed as a personal choice, though it involves navigating professional boundaries. Ooh, as a follow-up question, are there professional boundaries for personal trainers at local gyms? - Yeah. - Oh, interesting. Professional fitness organizations maintain rigorous standards to ensure that the relationship between a trainer and their client remains healthy, safe, and focused. So it's actually, your trainer is probably totally, like, told not to engage in anything romantic. - Yeah, that makes sense. - So it is inappropriate. - For one of the two, but it takes two to tango. - Thank you, Yahoo Scout, for clarifying. - Hello? - Hi. - How you doing? - What's your name? - I'm Jonathan Ernst. - Check, he sounds like he's hot. - You sound like you know how to carry yourself, so it's cool to talk to you. - Cool, man, I appreciate that, 'cause I always felt like I could, uh, carry myself pretty well. - What's on your mind? - Okay, so we're giving out love advice, correct? - Correct. - All right, so, my issue, I've been running this through my head, I smoke weed, okay? And everyone around me keeps, like, saying you need to stop smoking weed to find love or find a good woman, you know? So I was like, should I put down the joint if I wanna pick up the right girl, or is that just bad matchmaking advice, you know? - As the girl here, who smokes weed, and is currently high, I don't understand why you would have to change to meet the girl. - It's more like, I don't know, just 'cause people keep telling me this, so it's like, do I need to stop for a little bit, or like, 'cause it's medicinal, you know? I moderate my smoking, and like. - Tell me about when you smoke, like, through a day. - So I was like, I wake up in the morning, I'll smoke a bowl, or eat, like, a little edible, you know, to, you know, help with the medical conditions and stuff like that. The conditions that it's prescribed for, and then, you know, I get my stuff done, go to work, or, you know, get whatever I got to do done, and sometimes come home, smoke a bowl you know or or whatever it is you know um so i don't know i'm pretty moderate about it i mean i'm in little rock arkansas so we just got medical medicinal marijuana like not too long ago i know people are so quick people that still like judge you you know like out in like the stigma what's your medicinal uh use yeah so um okay so like when i was in high school man um uh we'll go back so like back in eighth grade we've met before by the way i was in eighth grade me and you yeah yes we have in eighth grade i was in eighth grade you were in 11th and i i want to go back so do you remember coming over to langston hughes middle school like your poetry slam team or like your improv team or whatever i do remember langston hughes i remember langston hughes for sure poetry slam you well you came over with like a group of people and i remember you guys did like you know you came over from south lakes to langston and i was in eighth grade and you you guys were like showing us like this cool poetry slam stuff for this improv stuff and i remember you asked if anyone would like to try at the end and i remember i was the only person that raised my hand and i walked up and um i remember i did the uh lost or the misplaced the case in this place mike yeah the case of the misplaced mike by uh tupac oh from the lost states 89 and i remember you're like that's a future mc right there see look at that but i just remember i was like the vibe you gave like it was just so easy to get off my ass and like go do something like creative and like fun i don't know how to explain it it's like you just like the energy in the room just like dude i want to i want to come and do something you know what i mean it was it was pretty cool i was like i've never experienced that with like somebody you know the vibrations were giving off was pretty cool so you smoke weed because i'm so cool i don't know man we grew up in resting so i don't know it might have something to do with the water and resting you never know that's crazy so what's your advice guys so you just so you just smoke weed and you're just saying it's medicinal so you don't get in trouble not at all i'm green and sober um i was um you know i was went down a bad path for a while i was you know addicted to the bad stuff you know percocets lean oh wow yeah and but i i'm i beat i mean i'm about five years clean from that stuff but green and sober for about three green and sober for about three years so thank you i appreciate that amazing okay so so so weed holds a few different purposes for you like you've been able to control your addictions and and and and and by smoking weed doesn't you know isn't the gateway doesn't lead you back into anything and it but it still gives you the you know that that moment you need to help you calm throughout the day and stuff it would to escape yeah or to like sometimes just sit and meditate you know kind of like like a buddha you know kind of just sit down and and meditate and use that to kind of not not exactly enhance but it's enhancing it a little bit kind of to get you into that mind state that mind state or that mind frame you want to get to you know and just to like be content and and sometimes after a hard day you know it it's not it's okay to do that you know i don't see nothing wrong with it for me after a but you know i guess the question is does it does it slow you down from achieving what you want to achieve does it impact your life in any bad way would you would you be able to wait until the end of the day to do it or does it not negatively impact you throughout the day exactly i was thinking about that something my sister my older sister always told me when i was younger um she said uh you know kind of all you know make it like a an award you know get your stuff done and and you know do your work and when you come home pack a bong bowl and take a rip you know we agree everything in moderation man you gave us good you gave me good advice respect yeah kristin said you gave her good advice voice you gave me good advice sorry where i gave you a better one yeah i do feel the guilt all the time i the only like the guilt the most common guilt i feel like it's weird because like i basically do smoke every single day at the end of the day i do treat it like a reward but because i do it pretty much every single day and i never saw that coming i do judge myself and i think why do i feel like i have to escape all the time and i negatively judge myself i know i could not do it but i don't think that would make me happier i agree man i'm i'm i i could put myself in that situation a thousand times and and and my mind go you know i don't know where it's going sometimes i'm just like i have no answer there's no answer there unless you get out there and you kind of put yourself in motion you know well we appreciate you thank you for being here and we'll see you next time for calling in and we'll see you when we see you in the field okay definitely guys and uh always good talk with you and um love you guys and we love you too man fantastic tonight you'll find the one you'll find the one you'll find the one guys the warmth on my lap crust pizza is the best thing on planet earth i don't care i don't care what anyone says i couldn't even wait for the ad i mean i guess this thing could be an ad now that we're talking ads the domino's app is the best thing in the world all you have to do is you go and you press your order one time and if you're like me and you get the same exact thing every time you just go on click one um i have i'm glad you're good i have uh i have i have some people here with me and i got dave and kristin here and what uh what what's on your mind what's on my mind let's see just wondering you know what kind of advice love advice you can give me okay do you have do you have uh do you have any specific situation that we can help with how do you get my husband that i've been married to for 30 years to flush the toilet oh well number one or number two it's always a surprise oh uh i don't know i think you just gotta say hey it's really bothering me that you're not flushing the toilet and and see how he reacts and then if it if it's a really important issue to you i'd say just keep bringing it up and then eventually if he doesn't start flushing the toilet it's just a sign of disrespect is he is he flushing poopy he says both he what he doesn't flush either uh-huh he might have add what is he a barbarian when i was young the only way i'd get my allowance was if i flushed really yeah i forgot you forgot to flush poop they're married so she's not getting married to him for how many years i've never even heard of this type of thing no i think it's common i think it's just like you just have to say to him hey i love you and i love a lot of the things that you do in life but there's one thing i really don't love what comes out of you and seeing it in the toilet against the white backdrop just doesn't do it for me it's crazy it's really such a bold thing i can't believe i understand number one number two's crazy yeah pretty crazy number what's his name ralph oh ralph it had to be a ralph only means number two flush the toilet ralph flush the toilet ralph anything else on your mind um let's see you what well i've been married for 30 years still with the same guy you've seen a lot of ralph you've seen all of ralph's shit his piss his he's seen it all honestly honestly honestly i commend you 30 years is amazing i'm so happy you guys are you guys are still going strong and if and if leaving poop in the toilet is the worst thing he does then keep ralph and we're so happy that we got to talk to you and we hope everything goes forward and ralph if you're listening well you're not now but eventually when this comes out and you're listening stop pooping in the toilet you got a great wife but congrats on 30 well well yeah keep pooping in the toilet but flush it yeah right yes absolutely flush the toilet close the drawers after you open it don't poop in the drawer clothes don't open the drawer yeah if you're not gonna put it back how it was don't touch it exactly yeah good luck we love you all right last caller give us a hello and just before you speak know that you're our last caller so we hope that you give us a good one okay okay so i have this girlfriend named jan okay um and as you know um she's a cancer so um just like selena's a cancer so my question is basically it's more like towards benny but hello y'all um it's more like what are some like simple things like just you know like sort of like what i can do for my girlfriend who's also a cancer and like just you know different things that like romantic ideas well i think the most important thing is to listen and to also like you want to support, you know, a cancer can be, you know, emotional and they can have, they can be sensitive and, you know, a lot of times a cancer's not, you know, they're, they're going to be really shy to tell you what's on their mind. So you got to put them in a comfortable spot where they can feel comfortable to like be as vulnerable as they want to be. And then once they do, you know, you want to validate it, surround them with love. And, and, you know, even if they're wrong, you have to let them get their thoughts out and then don't like just immediately be like, oh, you're wrong. You're this, you're that. Listen to them, hear where they're coming from, and maybe come up with like a way to say it to them where you're still listening to what they're saying, even if they're wrong, but you're helping give them constructive criticism. And then if they're right, then give them a big slappy kiss on the face and tell them you love them. Cancers love affection. They love being loved. And so I think it's important to have that kind of love. They love being held. They love, they love love. Isn't that right? Yeah, that's true. Yeah. What are you doing to support your cancer? Honestly, I'm not the most affectionate person, but I mean, because she's very emotional, I feel like it's more, it helps me open up more because I'm more of an actions person and I struggle with opening up, but I feel like it's more of an action person. I feel like, you know, we have a good relationship. I always just feel like, you know, I can, like, I always want to do more, you know, even though she feels I love her, whatever, I always want to do more. Yeah, I understand. I understand. I understand the feeling. And it's like, we always want to do more for our partner. And especially like someone, you know, I'm also a water sign. So it's like, it's like, we got a mushy household. And it's like, sometimes we're both just like placating to the other person. And we're like, we're just, we're just trying to please them. And they're trying to please us. And it's like, and you just, you have to be your true self around each other and both let yourself be vulnerable. And you know what? Try, try, try just hugging your partner as much as possible. And I think the fact that you even always want to do more is like such a good sign of you always wanting to give her like that in itself. It's a good, it's a good thing for a relationship. Like just the intention of always wanting to do more for her. Like she can feel that. Yeah, you always want to, you know, remind them that, you know, you love them and just like little daily affirmations and little compliments and little small things that, you know, like I always make sure every day I tell Selena how beautiful she is. And not because I'm just lying, because I look at her and I think she's so beautiful. And like, so if you see something, you tell them, you know, you tell them how you feel about her. And I think that's a good thing. You know, Selena has a little, um, it's called melasma and she has it over her eye and she's really self-conscious about it. But it's one of my favorite parts about her because it's like, where like, you know, God kissed her when he made, when he or she made her. And I just like, I don't know. I love, I, you know, because think about it yourself. You must love the feeling when someone tells you something good about you. And it's just like, even if you say it a lot, it's a person have confidence and write a note. If you're not that talkative, like write a note or something. Oh yeah. I like a note as well. That is so true. Well, thank you so much for calling. Um, just appreciate you. Yeah. And just know that Selena was listening to the whole thing and she loves you too. She's here. Yeah. She actually, she actually just got here right before your call randomly. And she, and you were making, she signaled, she signaled to Benny to talk about their little asthma. Say just say hi. How's it going? Oh my God. I love you so much. Like you're my woman crush for sure. Oh, I love you so much. And I think it's very sweet and I hope you and your girlfriend are happy. And I understand the cancer feelings. So everything that he said, I was typing out to him. See, you got to listen. You just got to listen. She makes me look good. Yeah, for sure. I'm trying my best every day, you know? Yeah. I'm going to steal them away now because they've been working all day, but it was so lovely to talk to you. We love you. Thank you. Bye. Good luck. Go cancers. Guys, not only are we giving love advice right now, but Selena crashed our actual relationship. Thing slightly early because she's always early. And then we're going out to have a double date. That just goes to show that look at us, four friends in our thirties married and look at us now. We love you. All right. That's a wrap. you
