In this unreleased pilot episode, Brooke and Connor introduce their podcast concept, highlighting their stark differences in interests. A major segment features a heated debate over Taylor Swift's 10-minute "All Too Well" version, where Connor finds it unnecessarily long and annoying, while Brooke defends it as a powerful artistic expression. They also touch on celebrity news, including Kim and Pete Davidson's relationship, with Brooke sharing gossip from a friend's esthetician about Pete's alleged dating history. The duo then explains tech concepts like NFTs and IPOs, with Connor drawing from his experience at companies like Bumble and Bird, though Brooke struggles to grasp the jargon. A comedic highlight involves prank-calling their fathers with a fake mechanic bill, receiving serious and protective responses. They also discuss pop culture, including Harry Potter, Dune (which both found confusing), and Paul Rudd's sexiest man title. In an advice segment, they address a roommate who won't do dishes, suggesting passive-aggressive tactics, and recommend air fryer meals for impressing a date. The episode ends with them teasing future content and a bonus episode, maintaining a lighthearted and conversational tone throughout.
[Music] -Hello. -Hey guys. I'm also just Sunny West Virginia. I'm Brooke, I feel too drawn to be more important. No, it's just like you're not, you've had one more Rita, like, one more Rita, I'm gonna open my leg. That's what this song is about. I'm kind of feeling I'm gonna open my leg. I'm so scared I'm gonna open my leg. Okay, so we're in West Virginia right now, so as you can see from the genuine flash floods, Brooks and her water shoes. I'm in my waters, walk down everyone, have a look at the water. You gonna go in the water in the parking lot? All right. You can do that if you want. I look like a massive fairytale giant. I just want to say because we're in West Virginia, we were not able to record an episode this week, so we're showing you the pilot episode of Brooke and Connor that was never released. We have both decided that it's in our best interest not to relive and watch it, so we don't know what you're about to watch. We hope you like it. I think it's actually gonna be cool to see like how much we've all grown together. So, well, maybe. And we will have a lot to update you on next week. Yeah. We have a great guest next week and we also hope to give you some West Virginia update. Yeah. We have an extensive docket of topics and new things that have not been talked about ever before, but the guest I can't emphasize enough. So, it's been lightning. I won't lie to you. It's a husband lightning? Or, yeah, I don't know if we'll even get home tomorrow. Um, don't say that. So, it's your own man that's just pulled up to take us away. I'm gonna, I think we should go back and do tacos. We'll go back into the crew in here, but thank you guys for watching. Thanks for the, thanks for the patience. We'll be back in such a massive way next week. You're that thunder? I hope you understand because you have to and we'll see you next week. We'll see you next week. Love you. Love you, bye. Hey, bro. Hi, Connor. What's up? It's really nice to see you. It's so good to see you, especially in this, this lighting is extremely good. I know, and it's so nice to be able to hear your voice. So, Chris, like a honey. And we are, you really have a gorgeous voice. You do too. Thank you. Am I too close to the mic or? No, I think you're lovely. Yeah. What's up? How's, how's, how's the Monday going? Um, the Monday's good. I, something actually interesting happened this morning that's never happened to me. And you won't believe this. I woke up at seven this morning, which is a big. Whoa. Yeah, different than the 10 usual wake up time. And I hike trunnion. Whoa. Yeah, yeah. Jeez, why? Yeah, um, I don't, I can't answer that. I don't think it'll ever happen again. And it's never happened before. But it is something that happened this morning. That's huge. You want to know it's huge in my life. What? And you haven't really said anything about it. It's my anniversary. Uh, getting hit by that car. Yeah, how are you feeling? Good. Like time flies. Yeah, well, I guess you want to dive into the story of when you got hit by the car. For people who haven't heard it. Oh, I forgot. Not everybody's heard the story. Right. I was just like on a bird's scooter. And I'm kind of barreling towards the four-way intersection. And I couldn't figure out the brake. Um, and then I just got smashed into by like, I think it was a Toyota Corolla. Which like normally it'd be like, okay, it's a Toyota Corolla. I feel like I could get hit by a Toyota Corolla and just walk away. Walk away. You'd be shocked at how how the punch it can pack. Well, I do feel like I think it's like an invincibility complex. Like if I got hit by a car, I know I'd be completely fine. Yeah, yeah. But so when I was hemorrhaging, it was like a kind of a wake-up call. You were hemorrhaging? Yeah, I think so. I wouldn't know because I didn't go to the doctor. But my friends were like, yeah, that's a hemorrhage. I didn't have to wear a belt for like over a month because my hip was so swollen. You know, I was in the air for so long after getting smashed into by a Toyota Corolla. Well, I feel like part of your body did you hurt? Like what? Just my right hip. Okay. Because I landed on it. Right. But I was in the air for so long. I got back on the bird. Oh, and okay. And was there any conversation between you and the driver of the Toyota Corolla? Yeah, he said what the hell is wrong with you and I obviously apologize. Right. Because that's just what I was raised to do. Right. Take responsibility for my actions. So yeah, I'm feeling pretty cool that like time flies when you're hemorrhaging. That's what everybody says. That's what they say. And it's nice to be 100%. Well, happy anniversary. And I'm sorry, I didn't wish that for you to hurt. So we're making a podcast. Yeah, we are. We're here. We're doing it. Yeah. It's exciting. Brooke and Connor make a podcast. Yeah, that's what's happening. Yeah. Okay. Well, what should we talk about? Well, there's a podcast. There's any number of things we can talk about. I say we jump right in. I think the basis of our podcast, which we're figuring out is that Brooke and I have nothing in common at all. Right. It's shocking that we get along to be honest because sometimes we do. Sometimes we don't. But I agree, there's, I can't really think of any interest that we have that align. Yeah, but I think it makes for cool conversation. Like, when we go through some stuff, I know that you and I kind of butt heads a little bit with, like Taylor Swift just came out with some stuff, which I have some opinions on. And so do I. Yeah, what are your opinions on it? I mean, it's brilliant. Like beyond brilliant and just heads up to everybody. I did end up leaving a group chat that Connor was a part of this weekend because he had some not-so-great things to say about Taylor's all 2L, 10-minute version. To me, it's just like crazy when like people can't even have opinions on it because. You, you know I usually respect your opinions, of course. And I always will. This, I don't see anything to respect about what you said. What did I say? You said that it wasn't good. No, I didn't say that. You did. I said it was annoying. I said it was 100%. That's worse than not good. Nothing needs to be 10 minutes. I would want this to be 15 if possible at all in any way. What didn't you like about it? It doesn't need to be 10 minutes. I don't understand why you're saying that. Well, here's the deal. So, I've heard the song. Do you like the regular version? I love the deal. I love it. You know what it's about. It wrecked me. Like you get it in any way. I totally get it. It's about. What's it about? Brooke? It's about at the re-month relationship that was 12 years ago from my understanding. And someone seems to be harboring some resentment instead of going to therapy. But she's not resenting. She's processing. You know what? You. It should take 10 minutes to watch this. I'm getting the feeling. You shouldn't write a song on it. That so the song is about Jake Jellenhall. Yeah, why don't you break it down to me and then I'll share what I think. I'm feeling like you align with Jake. Well, this is going to get me in like a lot of trouble. And it should and you deserve it. No, I just think that after watching the short film, which like was not again, it was 10 minutes. It's like hardly a short film. I just feel like a little bit onto Jake. You're making me feel sick on it. I don't. You came into this room with a stomach ache. I'm not taking responsibility for making you feel sick. I just, okay. What do you have for breakfast? I told you. Oh, sorry. I guess I didn't tell the podcast scrambled eggs and you know they make me feel sick. But it's gross. Like, why would you do that? But I'm just like. I guess it makes sense to me that you are aligning with you. Okay. Basically, I gasped let her for three months. And that's hard to get over. I guess it's something that you wouldn't. I understand. Do you mind if I chime in? No, not at all. Really quick to gaslight you. I think that I can break down. I watch, it's like I'm not doing my research and I'm allowed to have opinions. I wish you didn't watch. When I watch Sadie Sink interacting with Dylan O'Brien. Great casting, by the way. I think that they. Phenomenal. And encapsulate, like Tumblr in 2008. Yeah, there they are. Here they are. I think it's a great casting. I think it's so brutal that Taylor Swift would cast someone that literally looks like Jake Gyllenhaal from when they dated. Why? He deserves it. Okay, bro, hang on. So there's one specific scene in the short film that like a lot of, are you gonna cry? Are you crying? No, I just don't understand. Your eyes are kind of well. I'm sorry, like we can move on. But I just want to say the one thing that really stuck with me about this. And again, I did my research. It's not like I'm just like, oh, I hate Taylor Swift. I like Taylor Swift. Right. Can you like the three minute version? I like the three minute version. You know what? The three minute version rocked my world almost as much as that Toyota Corolla that smashed into me on the bird scooter. Right, happy anniversary. But what I wanted to say is that when I watch this video, they're in love. It's sweet. And then they go to this dinner. Right. Right. And my understanding at this dinner is that it's his friends that he hasn't seen in how long he drops her hand. If you, if you, if you were coming to a dinner with me and I haven't seen and I held her hand, you would drop it. And this is a blanket statement. Well, you know, I don't like being touched. I know, but I, if I went to this dinner, I haven't seen my college friends in 10 years. Say that's a cool, like, if these are my best friends. And you're like, what about me? I'd be like, stop. She didn't say what about? Well, she calls, she's 10 years younger than all. She's 10 years younger than all these people. And she's acting like he's saying, come meet me. You're sick. Of course she's acting like it. She is 10 years younger. [BLANK_AUDIO]
This is just not productive. - I mean, but like, you, so you can don't the hand-dropping question. - No, I think that he could have been like, oh my god, I'm so sorry, like I didn't realize he did that. And he did after 10 minutes of full gaslighting her about it. - Okay, cool. So I see a full blown, like they've come to terms, they're cool, they're dancing in the middle then I, in the refrigerator, like, cool. - In the refrigerator, right? - They've moved on, so I don't understand the resentment that the harbor-- - I think it was just like constant over and over things like that, you know? - Do you see what I'm saying at all? - I just think that a lot can happen. A 20-year-old shouldn't be dating a 30-year-old. I'll just say that, like that's just-- - Okay. - You're not gonna see it out. - A two to tango, right? - You can't clap with one hand, I do agree, but I don't think he's harboring anything. I think he's fully moved up. - And that's what's even sad. - I actually saw-- - Because the whole song is like, okay, I was there. Like, this is what I experienced. Did you not? And it's like, he didn't. - I feel that when you're 20 years old and you've told a story, you're just gonna remember it. How do you remember it? That's your new reality. - And that's how she's remembering it. - I just read a tweet actually. I'm not shitting on it at all. You're gonna remember your reality of this podcast, very different than I do. I feel totally at terms with the OG song. I did read a tweet that years later, this girl on Twitter was interning for Jake Gyllenhaal and he turned his apartment into office space. Like, that bugs me a little bit. That's weird. - And he was playing Taylor. - Taylor Swift. - Right, that's what I guess who's told me finding this. - I know, and that's what makes it so much worse. To me, that's what makes it worse. That he's like, okay, whatever. And she's 13 years later, like. - Do you think she goes to therapy? - Of course. I think we all should. I think Jake should too. - What? - 'Cause he's fine. You want him to feel bad. - Of course I do. - Hmm. - Right. I think is that where we're different. - You know what, I don't know about, I don't get the red scarf. - Okay, well, the first time they met, they were upstate. And right away, you were saying it was three months. - Upstate, what's that? - New York, upstate New York. And he already took her to meet his family. Maggie Gyllenhaal is the sister in this case. And she left her scarf there. And there's two different veins of theories on the scarf that I'm seeing. One is that it's a real scarf. And I'm seeing like on DuMua, like people are trying, somebody actually had the scarf and they're trying to get it. Am I screaming at you right now? - No, you sound awesome. - Oh, but someone's actually trying to get the actual physical scarf back to Taylor. And then what I'm seeing on TikTok is that the scarf is her virginity that she left at his sister's house. - What do you think? - I just think it's dumb. Once again, I feel like it's what, a scarf from 10 years ago. - Well, yeah, and he still has it. - He doesn't, you know, he did have it for a bit for sure. - Think about something that you've lost. Like a sweatshirt or something. Like, I don't know. I just think that like she's think, she's really, just, - Well, she didn't lose it, he kept it. - What's the lyrics? - I left my scarf at your sister's house. - She will have it in your drawer even now. - How does she know that? - Well, now I'm confused because-- - Maggie Jalenhole doesn't know shit about this scarf. - Right, but now I'm confused because if they're trying to get it back to someone, I guess he doesn't-- - There's a lot of-- - Then it's her virginity, right? - I don't know. - Okay. Okay, and you didn't like the short film. - I did, that was fine. - Okay, you're ready to move on. - Yeah. - Okay, that's fine. - Yeah. - Anyways, I don't hate the song. It's just like hard. That's like, I'm trying to think, like sugar were going on swinging. Like, if they made a 10 minute version of that. - Right. - Like, I need it. Like, I really liked the first one and like, that's enough. And if I wanna hear it for 10 minutes, I'll just put it on-- - Well, I think that's different because it's telling a story and she's adding more to the story. - I can appreciate the lyrics that have been released. What I will say is that like, she wrote this 10 years ago, I wanna hear her sing it from when she was feeling it 10 years ago, 'cause now I'm like-- - Well, I think that's even, you know, the whole concept of the vault is like, she doesn't touch her old song. So it's like, that's really how she was feeling. - She was a theater kid, wasn't she? - I don't know. - She must-- - We could ask her. - Yeah. - Yeah. - At some point. - Okay, well, I just think the reason that people get so emotional. I mean, I would never be emotional because I don't operate on it. - I saw you too. - I'm very chill. But I just think the people that get emotional think that like, you know, you're siding with Jake and this experience and so many girls relate to what Taylor's going through, you know? - Yeah. - Okay, moving on. - Okay. - So, what I like about this show, and how it's gonna roll through is that we can talk about Taylor Swift and we can switch gears, and then I can mansplain NFTs to you. - Yeah, that's something I've been looking forward to. - Right, that's what you woke up like ready to crank out some NFTs cat. What do you think of an NFTs? - Right, I'm just gonna ask, do you mind really quickly? - Can you just roll-- - I know that I've talked about you. - For sure, you have talked about them to me. - To you. - Yeah, and I have all this for that. I wouldn't want to Jake Jell-in-Hall. - Seriously, no problem. - On you. - Okay, I can tell you what I think. NFTs, it's fine, it's money. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - National Financial Trusting, trust, right. What is-- - No. - What is it? - It's not that. It is a non-fungible token. - Non-fungible. - Fung-- - Non-fungible token. - G, there's a G in it. - Okay. - And what does that mean, you have? - What do you mind? - I'll tell you exactly what it means. A non-fungible token means that like you can't, it's not tradable, like it's like unique. I'm not gonna be able to explain it. - Try. - I feel like everyone I meet lately is trying to be smarter with money. Myself included, cash back here, coupons and points there. But why does it take so much effort? We all just wanna make our money work a little harder. - I totally agree, Connor. I love a good deal, but if I actually have to hunt for one or go out of my way to activate a coupon, I've already checked out. - Yeah, well, Brooke, I think I found one you'll actually like. Prime for young adults, it's actually pretty genius. It's a prime membership for 18 to 24 year olds that actually makes prime feel like it's built for you. - All right, you've got my attention, Connor. And with no catch? - Exactly. You're not changing your shopping habits. You just get rewarded for them. And the best part, the cash back is automatic. No coupons, no activation, no extra steps. - Now that's the kind of reward I can get behind. No extra work, just getting rewarded for the life of Marty Living. So it's, yeah, yeah, yeah. A unique and non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a digital, on blockchain. And blockchain would be like a Bitcoin, you can trade a Bitcoin for another Bitcoin, or some showing that. - So why would anyone care? - So it's essentially, it's the future, it's the future. - It's the future? - Yeah. So.
Any questions so far with this I mean I guess just like where I'm confused is like what is the point and why You would care so on what you do And if you can't trade it. I confirm that what do you do with it? Just look at it? Is it a coin? Oh my gosh No, it's not a coin in NFT shit. I'm not gonna anyways. Let's move on. Let's say I can be Basically broke like basically like I would just say keep an eye on the space because this like I I own Ethereum which is like another form of blockchain which is like like it's it's like Bitcoin but like a different it's a decentralized currency We're not gonna scary we're not Coltie. It is a little scary to be honest and the reason I got into it is you know that I have Anxiety well, yeah, so like I got anxiety about Feeling left out of this and missing out and follow right. Yeah, yeah, that's what I have and so I got a little bit panic vibes a panic attack vibes or I was like People are saying this is the future right all my friends that are huge douche bags are just like full all in on this and I'm like I need to I need to Sad to miss out. I couldn't miss out on this. I get it And so what's your non-fungible? I don't know. I don't own any NFTs. Oh, you own a over Arabium. What'd you say? We'll get there. We'll get there. We'll get there. Okay in the meantime. I'm gonna circle. Let's circle back Let's touch base on that. Let's offline about that. Okay. We'll chat. We'll chat. We'll chat in Ft We'll um, I'll fund your token off camera and a little bit Speaking of Kim and Pete. Yeah, so Kevin Pete have been seen a few times in New York. Yeah started on SNL Yeah, you know, they kissed and that won a lad and skit. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh I have I have something I want to say. Say it So this is like big-time indie A vibes But I don't know if anyone's you can It started before SNL because I have a friend that goes to the same Pete Davidson has really bad acne and back knee Yeah, so he sees my friends as the dish and uh-huh and he basically goes in there and Spills all the beans every time he goes in is your friend is that position? No, my friend goes his S.O. Oh Oh my god, yeah, she she goes and I don't even know if I want to share this she goes In the front desk girl Pete Pete goes in regularly right for his acne and he basically is like I Have been hooking him again for like a while. Whoa that and they seemed so like Like I have know each other at all on SNL. Sorry to started to do more this this thing, but He was also hooking what the Bridgerton girl the same time is Kim and she was supposed to come in to His native village of New York City right of Staten Island of Pete Davidson's Staten Island native village Because no one else over there besides Pete Davidson or has ever lived there as well as I'm concerned or no and She was flying in what's her name on Bridgerton? Oh Lord asked not Phoebe Bridgerton Duke the the Duchess the Duchess of course what's her the Duchess of in real life Phoebe something? No, I swear it's Phoebe That's her. Yes Phoebe Phoebe. Yeah, yeah Exactly and and you know I don't think it's our place to say and the listeners will know we've given them enough context Phoebe and it's not We're talking about Phoebe from Bridgerton. Phoebe Phoebe Phoebe. Phoebe. Let's call her Phoebe. Okay since that's her name. That's fine I think that's I don't agree. I don't think Pete would do that at all. No. Well, I mean they it was like a fun They weren't exclusive like it, but was he exclusive with Phoebe bird Phoebe when he British Phoebe Phoebe when he's doing that No, so she knew that he was together with Kim. Oh, she was scared to come into town because she was scared Kim was Gonna be around and like didn't want to cross paths and you're getting this from your friend's esthetician Okay, I trust I know you do, but I'm gonna take it with the grain of salt because I think Pete is a one-woman show I think he's like really good guy. You think that vampire is a one woman. I think he's a sweet heart. No And I saw something that was like oh my god. Why is Pete getting all of these girls? It's crazy And you know what someone was like have you ever thought he's a really good personality? I have another thing to say but what I Shouldn't say it because it's not my place to say I just like look. I'm gonna leave it up to the imagination Is I think I know exactly what you're talking about and it's not what you think it is. Is it that he's a big dick? Oh Then I don't know actually he's got a big pile of money down there. No, yeah in his mom's basement No Anyways, so basically He was hooking with Kim and so now they're they're exclusive now him and Kim. Yeah, but before S&L that kiss on S&L Was there for was not their first kiss, which like a lot of people were that's the first kiss. It's not Okay, I mean I Wouldn't need to hear more about it. Okay cool candy after the show. Okay, I'll call cancee, but I That's just all I have to say on that. Okay, so that's the origin and well. What do you think about it? I think it's weird. Why? Because he to me like came as like how many kids now like four four four. Can you name them? Yeah North right South East. Oh, that's never been done before I yourself on the back for that one Great family. It's North Saint Chicago and Salm is that how you say that word? I don't think they have those in Jewish. Yeah But it's in the Bible. It's in the body. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Very like a biblical family. It was that Chicago. Yeah shy. Yeah Cool though But here's what I think basically I love it because I think I do I think Kim's got a heart of gold really I think so too hard of gold and I love Pete But what I will say and you've heard me say this multiple times and this is something I'll always cry about after I have one or two drinks is that funny guys Can get the Kim card actions of the world. That's written on my mirror in my bathroom and Funny girls girls like funny guys. No funny girls Don't get the Kim card actions of the world at all. Why don't you change that narrative? I can't it would take Years and years and redefining the social structure of Society yeah, I would have to remake the world. Yeah. Yeah I believe in you. I mean, I can't do it alone, but I guess this is my plea To everyone okay to reinvent the wheel that's not That was like the wrong phrase phrase Creating the wheel would be just like doing the sex. Well, everyone knew what I meant Okay, so moral of the story is that I am pro Kim and Pete, but it does bring light bring to light that right you. Yeah, good. What like who else like John Mulaney John Mulaney's with Olivia Munn. Who's Nick Crowell with Nick Crowell actually has like a beautiful sweet wholesome wife really cause What did you wait? So I was like Olivia Munn. Oh, I'm not applying that everyone else isn't wholesome and beautiful and gorgeous But she's just like not known. She's like a landscape artist like not like Olivia monarch him Kardashian not like a signed model. That's pretty cool. Right who else? There's like other people that Well, just literally everywhere. Hi, I'm Moonie's. I don't actually know what I have a big thing for all the SNL guys But I don't they're very private about the relationship Colin Joost Scarlett Johansson. Yeah, of course Yeah, I mean the examples are endless. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and then give me a funny female comedian and I'll tell you Like Amy Schumer. Yeah, it would be married to Chris Evans if it were if it was Yeah, you know what I'm saying and she's not Yeah, that sucks. Yeah Okay, I think it's time we maybe switch gears that's fine and have like a little bit of an interjection here and I think that Maybe we could prank Okay, well I now I'm feeling silly because I was supposed to text him and say do you mind if I call you in an hour because this is around the time He bought recently bought like a bike not a peloton, but something and he goes he travels the world on it like it's stationary It's not a peloton, but it's just like a stationary bike and he like we'll go somewhere new every day for hours And he doesn't stop telling that but I I fear that he's on his bike, but I'm gonna give him a call the stationary bike traveling the world but I'm gonna give him a call and try that yeah, are you familiar with the oil changing prank that's viral on tiktok. Yeah Well, do you want to bring it down? Yeah, I'll break it down basically Usually a girl in most situations calls their dad Or any or boyfriend or whatever and says that she just got charged five hundred dollars for an oil change in addition to A few hundred bucks for premium air. Yeah, and her tires Um, so I'm gonna go ahead and try that on my dad. Yeah. Yeah, I think that'd be really funny I did I did it and some girl Dean to me was like this is for girls. I do think that it plays into the patriarchy a bit Yeah, right. Like I don't know how to do any of that. I get to change your oil mechanic. I know you do yeah every single time I go Yeah, that's a universal experience. That is a universe
of getting scammed. Okay, guys, do I just call on my phone right now? Okay. Oh, shoot. That scared me. I put it closer to the mic. Hey, Dad. Oh, you're on your bike. Can I just ask you a real quick question? I'm at the mechanic and they just charge me 500 for an oil change. I swear, I swear, 500 for an oil change and then an additional 200 for premium air in my tires. Am I, what's no premium air? What's the fuck is that? That's bullshit. Oil changes are 6080 bucks. Really? So I just got scammed, huh? Yeah, you did. Okay, well, what do I do? Go back here and speak to the manager. I can't do that. Yes, you can. And I like to send me a copy of that bill. Okay, well, can you, well, can you talk to the manager? I will talk to my, send me the bill. Send me the bill. Okay, I'll send you the bill. Okay, love you. Bye. Wait, he's like not, he's not, he's not, he's not fucking around. He was on the bike, of course. He was like, what the fuck? I know. He was on the bike. Should I try my parents? Yeah, please. My mom called me twice this morning. Oh God, did you call back? Hell no. You want to see the text? She sent me this morning? Yeah. 451 AM. She texts me a link to ancient tales of wisdom, correcting one's wrong doings, changing one's fate. What could that even be about? And the image is like an ancient Chinese scroll. Did you respond? No, what do I say to that? I just emphasize all the links that my mom sends me. And then yesterday, for 47 AM, link to healthline.com benefits of pineapple juice. I saw that recently too. You know what pineapple juice? No, but you know the benefits of pineapple juice. I actually do. But I think there's more. I think there's more than that what you're thinking of. Like health benefits. It's worth a try. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Give her a ring. Okay. Should I call my mom or my dad? Dad, maybe. My dad and your dad, I don't think, are going to have the same thing. Okay. Here we go. Hey, really quick. I'm at the mechanic. You know how I got my oil change the other day? Yeah. They said, well, they charged me 500 bucks. For what? The oil change? Where did you have it done? The mechanic. This is the dealership. No, there's no such thing as a $500 oil change. That's what it was. And they charged me an additional 200, because they filled my tires up. And they said it was premium air. And they put nitrogen in, which you didn't need. Oh, shoot. But they would not want to even be $200. What do you think? I mean, but what? I mean, no, it's, no. I mean, there should have been, I mean, I've never heard of it. I mean, you can bring your friggin' Lamborghini and for friggin' $300 nebure oil change. Okay. I mean, I have moms, I mean, I get my truck done all the time down in Toyota and it's like 90 bucks. Okay. All right. I got to go have a word, I guess, with the manager. Exactly. So, you know, look on the site and see what the oil change is. And say, hey, I came in for an oil change. I didn't ask for it. Okay. I didn't ask for this shit. Okay. And stand up for yourself. That pisses me off. Okay. All right, Blake. I love you. Love you. Thank you, Blake. I'll be back. I will. Bye. I know that was awesome. But I could do that all the time. No, my dad's famous line is. Oh, yeah. Oh, my God. But he'll do 40 seconds of like skiddy did that before he finally gets like his thought out. Oh, my God. That was really good. I have to say. Excuse me. Like it doesn't get old at all. To me, I feel really guilty. Oh, really? Like I'm going to have to call him back. The only reason I feel guilty is because I did something to my dad yesterday. You know, the whole Tom's house was broken into. Yeah. We come from the burglar. Well, it texts to my dad. Tom's house was broken into just to see what he would say. He was like, so like, like, I must have been some tech. He was like, shoot. Like I just got off the plane. Must have missed some text, like not fully understanding. So I do feel bad about that. Yeah. But that was good. Yeah, that was. I don't know how I feel about it to be honest. I feel kind of guilty. Oh, it was funny though. So you can rest easy knowing that I got a belly laugh from that. Oh, you did. I did. I was cracking up. That's good. I'm just going to readjust these. Okay, cool. Because I feel like I'm having my hair is looking pretty bad. No, it was awesome. Really? Yeah. Thanks. Okay. What's next? So I want to talk again. So like, I have this desk here and I like forgot that, you know, this isn't, you do, you're going to handle pop culture. Right. I have some opinions. Right. I got to bring in a little bit of, you know, my background. Yeah. Would you please? Texas? No. I worked in tech. Uh-huh. All before this. Well, and I, you know, I'm a woman in tech. So I will be understanding a little bit of what you're saying. Because you do post-acoustics. Because I do go on my phone quite a bit. But I do have a screen. What is it? I'm of 13 hours. So I am, I call myself a woman in tech. Yeah. I went to the doctor and fully was like, I have a tumor and they were like, no. You need blood glasses? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I've been there, honey. Yeah. Totally. Okay. So tell me about. So, so, so, so my, my experience in tech, I sat at a desk, much like this. Right. I never had a phone. Um, but my experience in tech, like I worked at Bumble. Right. When I was a very early employee at Bumble and I got fired, obviously, I can't hold a job. And then so I started at bird and where, if you remember earlier in the full circle moment happy anniversary, by the way. Happy anniversary. Yeah. Thank you. Of course. Conor, I wouldn't forget that. Hip, I, hip, I car. Um. Hey, guys, we want to take a break to think a sponsor of today's episode, skims. You've heard me say it before, but skims really does just keep getting better. I'm really going to say, oh, I got fired from bird too shortly after getting hired. Yeah. No, but tell me tell me, what is your like, when you hear the word IPO, what does that mean to you? Beer. Yeah. Yum. Yum. No. So you're thinking IPA, so that was really close actually. What is IPO? IPO. Don't panic. It's like an international podcast, podcasting association. Oh, yeah. I just tell me it's an initial public. Put me out of my misery. Okay. We're going to get you invested in stuff. Okay. That's totally fun. You have a money guy that does all your money. Yeah, uncle Jeffrey. Yeah. Bless his heart. Bless his heart. Love you. Love you. Yeah, but an initial public offering that's basically like when a company goes public. You were telling me about that. Yeah. You know, you're drawing my memory. Yeah. So the beautiful thing about going public is I've worked at two of the companies I just spoke on. Uh-huh. I, both of those, Bumble and Bird did go public after I left. So I benefited nothing at all from both of those experiences. So what were they doing when they were private? So it's, you're basically fundraising and like you have series of like rounds of fundraising where you're raising money to go public and getting in press and like, I don't really fucking get it to be honest. Not that I'm saying it out loud. Uh-huh. And that's okay. I don't need to because it's like, it's not for me to know from what.
- Right. - Makes no difference to me. - Right, totally. I could have just kept going with what I was saying. Basically, when you go to the stock market-- - Right. - You go public. - Where do you ring the bell? - Where do you go to the stock market? - You go to Wall Street. And you bring on your friends and you go to Wall Street and you're making a lot of noise and you're just confetti. - It's a place. And there's a bull. - Is it the same as Wolf of Wall Street? - Yeah, exactly the same. - That's a stock room. - Boats and cocaine. - Right. - And you basically go to the Wall Street and you have the whole thing happen. You post on Instagram, there's a big screen and on Times Square and you get to take a picture in front of it. And you go public and you go to the stock market at an initial public offering of X, which is a price per unit stock. - Well, yeah. - Sorry, I'm screaming a little bit. - No, not at all. - I'm excited. Basically, so then you can be higher than that. You can be lower than that. A lot of companies fail when we work with public. They flopped. What else went public recently? I don't know. But you can be-- - Then you go up and if Elon Musk talks about you, you go up on the stock market, people are buying and your price goes out. - So you can't buy anything when it's private. So when it goes public, then people can have a piece of it. - That's a tricky subject. Because I got in early on sweet green. - Wow. - You can just do it. I don't know. - I don't know. - I don't know. - You can get in early at the market price. I hope no one's listening to this back there and like, anyway, so Rivian is an electric tron company, tron company, it's right here. So I actually went when I was at CES with Bird and we were in, like Bird is obviously stepped into bikes. Electric bikes in San Monica specifically and there is the future of like travel is electric, apparently. And so this is going to be like a Tesla competitor. And what's cool about that? - That thing just needs to be plugged in. - Plug in. - Oh my god, that's huge too. - Outlet or you name it, it's huge and it's a truck. And the cool thing about these trucks, you would love it because you pull it out. You can sit on it. There's like a bench connected to it. And there's a lot of other features that I can't remember now but we got to see it in person and it was so sick. Like, it's connected to Alexa. They work with Amazon, so I don't know. It's really cool. It's a cool company. - I mean, it looks cool, but I feel like I miss-- - Watch this space. That's all I'll say. - The mic. - No, watch this space. - What are you talking about? - Just watch this space, keep an eye on this space. 'Cause there's a lot happening with it. - Oh, just the general-- - They're going public. That's what I was going to ask you how Vivian or someone ever has anything to do with an IPO. - There's a measure of success. Like, if your company's going public-- - That means you're successful. - It's a good sign and they're raising money and-- - Well, I haven't heard of this before. - I know. Well, I mean, watch this space. - I am watching this, but now that you said it, I'll be watching this space. - Watch this space. It's exciting and you have some exciting news. - Well, it's early. - Yeah, well, in a sense, this is going public as well. - In a sense, this is going public imminently, but I have spent the last week rewatching all of the Harry Potter. - Why? - Why not? - Oh. - Greatest films of our generation, have you seen? - Yeah. - Do you like them? - This is actually another anniversary. It's been 20 years since the Sorcerer Stone. - I know. - It's not crazy. - Yeah. - Have you seen the movies? - Yeah. - Do you like them? - Yeah. - Okay, that's awesome. - They're kind of like-- - They make you feel good. - They do. They're like, feel good. Like, I love things that just like bring you back. - Yeah, I wasn't allowed to watch, I was-- - Really? - No, because it was violent. - No, because it was black magic. - Oh, and you weren't allowed to watch black magic. - No. It was raising the kitchen home. - Oh. I had no idea that that was even an issue. - It wasn't. - What was magic in the Bible? - I don't know. - But it's a religious thing. - I guess. Do you guys have black magic in Jewish? - I don't think so. I mean, not in the sense that it's like wizard in witches. - No, neither in the-- I don't really know what happened. - Wow, that's so interesting. - There was dark magic happening in the Harry Potter. - Well, Voldemort. - It's dark magic. - Yeah. I guess like kind of like-- - Voldemort is on the Bible. - I guess it's kind of like hell vibes. Like hell, heaven and hell. - What was it? - I don't know. Like dark magic could be hell. I don't think there's hell. There's no hell in Judaism. - Yeah, I heard that. - Yeah. Just, I guess, just like different levels of heaven maybe. - Cool. - I don't know. We're getting a little off topic. - Okay. - But anyway, I've been spending the whole week rewatching the Harry Potter movies. Watch the seventh last night. Finish. Back to the first this morning. There's eight. I was watching seven part two. Yeah. Rumor has it that there's going to be a reunion, but no one has confirmed it. Like no one on the Harry Potter team. - A reunion for Harry Potter. - Well, my understanding is it would be the same people. It's Warner Brothers. So it would be the same people that did the friends reunion. - Which stuff. - So it would just be like. - Are we getting into another Taylor Swift feud? - I just like. - That was bad. It was bad, objectively. Everyone agreed that the friends reunion was bad. - I have not heard that once. - Whoa, we live in a different world. - I don't know where you're getting your information. But that is, that reunion was life-changing and touched the lives of so many people. And you're minimizing that. Am I being crazy? - I'm not going to say you're being crazy, because I'm not Jake Gyllenhaal. - But it's just like, I don't understand what you could have been. You don't like friends. - I didn't say that on the internet today. - No, but I know that. But I know that. - Well, I. - Because you've told me explicitly on my friends. - My thing with friends is like, you can put on its back on the noise. I don't think that the plot line, and everyone agrees the plot line is bad. - Well, I don't think that's why anybody's watching it. - It's not funny. - It is funny. - Well, yeah. - Well, yeah. - It's not funny. - It's a riot. - How can you watch, like, curb your enthusiasm and then watch friends and be like. - You can, like, both. - Okay. - They're different kinds of humor. - I would never. - Curb is like really smart. I wouldn't say friends is like smart. It's just like, feel good. - Yeah. - Hang in with friends. Lots of laughs. - It's pretty much in the title. - Yeah, you could say that. - Give me. - Okay. - Well, that's fine. - Okay, cool. It was a good experience for you. I watched it. It's something I didn't, again, I didn't know. - Well, I don't think you can go in not liking friends and come out thinking the reunion was great, you know? - No, yeah. - You know, so. - Ooh, I just breathe in deep. Have you ever just, like, breathe in deep? It feels so good. - It makes me uncomfortable. - It makes me anxious to breathe. I'm a shallow breather, for sure. - JK Rowling was canceled. - She is. - So what? She's just not going to go to the reunion? - That's a great question. We'll have to feel that out. Keep your eyes on the space. - Yeah, watch the space. - Yeah. For sure. - What was she canceled for? - She was just like, like, bad. - No way. - Yeah, yeah. - Isn't she? - I can forward you some tweets. - She was tweeting? - Well, she was just like, it was like a weird time of, like, transgender issues and, like, what bathrooms people should use. And she was, like, really adamant about, like, trans people, like, sticking, like, just, like, using the bathroom of the gender they were assigned at birth. - Yeah. - Like, really adamant and, like, would not stop. And then people were just like, I'm pretty sure that was it. But people were just like, what the fuck? And just, like, just, like, collectively, were like, you're done. And I'm just like, yeah. - You're done. - You're done. And then she's just like, no. - No. - Yeah. She just, like, was like, no, I'm not. And just, like, kept going. And just, like, would not apologize or change her views. Anyway, it was really bizarre. Especially because, like, you're clearly brilliant in some capacity if you're writing Harry Potter, but, like, she just wouldn't give it up. - I was so out of loop with that little thing. - I think it was, like, a stubborn issue. She was just like, not. - Well, she's old. - I don't think, I think she's in her 40s. Her 50s, minimum. - Time for a rebrand. - Rebrand. - Yeah. - And I am sort of her stone. - She's 56 years old. She looks great, actually. - Yeah. - For 56. - But that's an older person. Like, that's someone whom. - I mean, she's older than my parents. I think my dad is 55. So she's not too old. Okay. So we'll keep our eyes on the space for Harry Potter reunion. - Yeah, but some people that age can have opinions and be stubborn about it. - Oh, that's what you're saying. Oh, okay. I wasn't sure where you were getting it with her needing a night's serum, but. - Oh, because you said she's 40, and I was like, she's not 40. - Okay, then she said. - If she was 40. - Okay, no, she's gorgeous. - Yeah. - She's beautiful. - Okay. - Um, I don't think we need to talk about Zayn and Gigi. - I don't know. - Shhh. - It's like Zayn and Gigi. - That's like a troubling situation. That's like domestic violence. - Yeah, I would skip. - Yeah, he seems. - He's trouble. - He's trouble. - You know what I will say about Zayn and Gigi? Bella wasn't getting enough attention, and now she's crying all over the internet. - Is she? - Yeah. - I miss that. - Man, I'm in a really good pop culture. - You are. - Knowledge space. - I'm a Paris, that's supposed to be. - Mm-hmm. - Yeah. - You know someone once told me I look like Bella indeed. - Yeah. - You, okay. - So that's it? - Yeah. - Okay. - Yeah. - Cool. - Who did you pull up a picture of the other day and say that you looked like? - Oh, I'm a Robert. - Because you were both wearing a striped shirt. - No, I put on the shirt to show everyone that I looked like her. - Yeah, your hair was the same color, too. - When her hair was brown, we have a similar-- - I saw it. I saw it in the picture. - Do you mind if I actually pull this off? - No, I'm the one that agreed with you. Someone else said no. I said it because I have a big crush on Evan Peters, who dated-- - He's been pretty quiet. - Well, he's just like a very humble, quiet guy from what I know. I know him well. - Yeah. - You know. - I really want to tell the story because this is reminding me-- - What? - Of you meeting Jacob or Gordy the other night? - You tell that. - Okay, well it's just pulling this off. [BLANK_AUDIO]
me and Emma. Oh, yeah, that's it. Oh my God. They found the picture. Oh my God. That's the picture. But I need to find the pic stitch of first of all, that's me. Yeah, I do see that. But let me find anyway, the reason I was like, Oh, I love them. Peter's, you know, crazy. He dated Emma Robert that looked just like her and everyone started laughing. And I was like, I don't what's funny. And they were like, you don't look like her. And then I was deeply, deeply upset and then proceeded to go home, change into an outfit that looked like her and pic stitch our pictures together. It's hard posted on my Instagram story and say, do I look like this person? Which most people said now? So like, I have one or two people, I look like Max. Like, can I say them? Yeah, sure. You look like Tom Holland. That's flattering. Here. I can't remember. Where do I show this? Make my shirt off. Do you see it? Identical. And that picture specifically. See? Yeah, I do see it. Yeah, um, I'll favorite that for future reference. Yes. Okay. Tom Holland. Yeah. And I would I know this one. There's another matter banks. No. Tom Holland. I don't remember who it was, but I think it was on war. How do you? Oh, yeah. And you've gotten Matthew McConaughey. I think that's more of a vibe thing. Like, yeah. Yeah. But like, when I look at you, I think Amy Winehouse. I know you do. Were you there when? And it's hard for me to say you look like anyone else because I think Amy Winehouse. Right. I don't really see it, but I do like, people will come up to me. Yeah. Someone came up to me this weekend. Yeah. And I was like, I'm so sorry. I have to stop you in the street and tell you that you look like Amy Winehouse. Yeah. I do get that a lot. Yeah. I get her and Sarah Silverman. Yes. Yes. But I, because you have strong features like great eyebrows, dark hair. Thank you. Yeah. That's really nice of you to which like both of those people do too. Right. Sarah Silverman specifically. When it comes down to it, it hasn't to do with me being 99.98% odds of Jewish according to 23andme.com. And I'm sure that they are as well. If I had to guess. And I'm sure we're I keep getting emails from 23andme that's like you have new relatives and it's new cousins that are related to me on both sides. So it's like they are related to me through my mom and my dad. Because when you're so much of one thing, I do think I'm in bread a bit. Not in an offensive way at all. Just normalize being in bread, I guess. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. What were you were saying? I was just saying. Yeah. I guess that was hard while we're here. It's so funny. Excuse me. I must have had a frog in my throat. I'm just going to tell a really quick precursor and then you I just want to say the reason I brought this up is because the Evan Peter situation like freaks me out because I think if you ever in a room with Evan Peters, you would do the exact same thing that what I did to Jacob. Yeah. I think I was being mild when I met him. But basically what happened was I went to like a live taping of Jimmy Kimmel. Yeah. And just like that anyone can do like you can get tickets. And he was the guest. And I was sitting front row. And I was under the impression that we had a connection. At least on my end. Right. Okay. You can take it away. And that was like weeks before the stories that the story that Conor's about. We were like an event the other night. Oops. And Jacob already walks in with Noah Centennial. Centennial. And I tried it with him for a second with Jacob or Noah. Jacob. Uh-huh. And then he's with our friend Jack for a while. And then every time I turn around, Brooke is closer and closer to him. Like chest to chest. He's obviously like eight foot tall. Huge dude. And Brooke is like this. Like staring up and I'm end up finally. I was like and wait, what are you yelling at him? Well, I was just like, well, oh, I see you've met my friend Jack. You know, that was the second night. Well, first I was like, hey, like so nice to see you again, do you remember me? And I was like a few, a few drinks and I said, do you remember me? And he was like from what? And I was like from Jimmy Kimmel. And he was like, what? And I was like, I was sitting front row. Do you remember me? Yeah. And he didn't. But he was so thankful. I'm sure he was flustered that he was. And he was, yeah, it was. He did great. By the way, you did great Jacob. I know I'm sure you're watching this. Um, but he didn't remember me, which was a bit of a shock to the system. And then I was like, okay, huge fan, whatever. Great. Left and like, then I started like having a few more drinks progressively. And then this is when you came in. You didn't see that first meeting. But the second meeting was our friend Jack was talking to him. And I think they were exchanging numbers. And I just go up, put my arm around Jack and go, I see you've met my friend Jack, Jacob. And then I feel corner like tugging at me from the back. Do you remember that? Yeah. Cause I would, because you hope someone would do that to me too. And I don't think I responded to that. The thing that I do, no, the thing, well, you were fine. But the thing that I do. And you do is like when someone is there, fixating. It's like, okay, cool. That's my night. I don't even need to see my friends. I'm like, no, I need to go up to that person six times until I have the perfect interaction with that. I have crying new things with him. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, when I did see you that second time, I, you were one centimeter away from his body. Right. Right. I was getting a little too close, probably for sure. But I couldn't hear him or see him. It was like, no, he's so tall that I, he had to lean down and I had to, it was just really, I was trying to be polite. Right. So that I would be able to hear him and he would be able to hear me. Yeah. And that's it. It's fine. It's like whatever. Yeah. Have you had any celebrity? Yeah. And I don't want to talk about it. I had one this weekend. I don't want to talk about it. You did? Yeah. I talked about it. To me? Yeah. This weekend, I was with you this weekend. When I went to the show on Friday. Oh, oh, okay. Okay. We can, we can please pass that. No, it hurts me to tell you. Yeah. You watching TV. Did you? Yeah. That's all I do, really. What's your favorite thing to watch on TV? Actually, I will say we have nothing in common except. Carburentusiasm. For our love for Carburentusiasm. New season blows ass. Really? I think it's, I think there are good parts and bad parts. But you might not know. Connor and I lived together for three months. Yeah. And he would always put curb on and I would like throw a fit. And I was like, this is stupid. Like put friends on the socks. Oh, sorry. Are you well? No. I just put friends on and I would like adamantly. I was being really stubborn and wouldn't watch it because I've always been like anti-sign felt because sign felt always came on after friends. And that was very much like a signal. Friends is over. And that I hated that. This rural. The visceral. Just like pass off gov response, learn response. So I just like associated curb. You look like friend dresser too. That's another person. That's really I love the nanny. Yeah. One of my favorite shows. Yeah. Thank you, Connor. Of course. Um, I'd go as far as she's also 99.98%. But what was I saying? Oh, I was like really. Yeah. You just you just don't like her. And then like the day we moved out. Yeah. And I moved into my own apartment. I started watching it. Yeah. I just like. And I'm glad to see you had. Yeah. A bit of it. I did hurt her. I'm there. Did you finish? Did you watch it from like start to end with starts to end? No, I finished like a month, a two month ago. I'm not like that whole giant blanket while I was watching curb. Yeah. And I finished when it was before season 11. And now I'm watching season 11 as you watch season 11 live time. I hate that it's live time because you would rather just binge it all. Yeah. I get that. I would. Yeah. I like having something look forward to because it's Sunday nights waking up every Monday to a fresh episode of curb. It's just like not great this season. It's kind of disappointing. I think it's not great because it's like now has been a lot. It's 11 seasons. That's a long time to do anything. It's like two. And it's kind of the same thing over and over again. It's a very resting day show. I'll say like unrelated to this new season. If I ever met Larry David, I feel like he would like. Hey, no, we would hang like I think we would be really very close. Oh, do you really? I'd be interested to see that. I think like best friend vibes like not even really. I think you have completely different vibes. No, I see a lot of myself really. I don't know. Middler. I'm a great middler. Well, you're referring to how you have to be at the middle of the table. Yeah. So I agree. You're good at this episode. It was about being a middler and like who's a middle where you're seated at like a long dinner table. Yeah. I agree. But I just I think you can talk and talk and talk and talk about random things. But Larry's talking about very, very specific things that upset him. I feel like you're less complaining. You get mad at me when I complain constantly. Yeah. I don't complain. But I do get bugged by stuff. Right. And I just taught I just bring it up like this. You know what? I can't do what when the table is a little bit wobbly. I know. Well, I told you about that invention. That's just like that little thing you stick under the wall. Yeah. It isn't that related to your. I think I might have said that my mom invented that and I did probably I did lie. You lied. She invented a thing that was just basically a piece of paper that you would put your gum into. I think that's what she says every time we go out is she invented maybe pop up or something put something. Maybe it's pop up. It could also totally be Uncle Jeffrey. But I do feel that that has a tie to my family. The table stopper thing. But yeah. So you for yet we both we both watched it recently. We didn't watch it when it was trending. But we watched it recently. Like last week. We had a different experience.
Yeah, I think that everybody goes through a bit of a personality, yeah, you're just exploring yourself and exploring. Well, I watched that, and I was like, I don't ever want to touch alcohol or anything like that scary. I don't want to be affected in any way. Yeah, like I want to be fully in control of myself. Yeah, yeah, and I think you had the opposite. I've been, you went on a full bend or post you for, yeah, I did everything. Right. I remember that. It was an experience and then I was like, oh my god, wait, that's because I watched it for a while. Yeah, and I, yeah, that scared me that show. Oh, yeah, I thought it was sick. I mean, it was the best show I've ever seen, but it did not make you want to do drugs. Yeah, I don't know. That's fine. Again, to each their own, totally, yeah, completely. Yeah, it didn't. I get Zindaya now. So like, I watched that show and then I was like, I've never like not gotten Zindaya. I think she's awesome. But I like, she deserves to be super famous. I just like never. I'm not like, oh, I need to watch us because it's not Zindaya. Zindaya. Zindaya. Zindaya. And, but then Dune comes out and I'm like, oh, I need to watch. Right. Right. She's don't think has a single line in the movie. She had three lines. Yeah. And I think she was only on set for three to five days or something. And now for Kimmy or like best friends, we bonded for life over this film. You guys met for like two days. Isn't that crazy? That was the film itself. Did you understand one more? I mean, I think what I've heard because I was watching it. And I was like, I must be like, no, like intellectually. I someone's scary. I tweeted about it. I was like, is this sci-fi or is it bad? And I thought it was current Middle East. Every day Middle East. Everyone was like, what is wrong with you? Like that movie was brilliant. I'm like, I must be the dumbest person on the planet rocks for brains. I didn't understand. I'm staring at it. I had the movie version of the Wikipedia plot up. I'm following along looking at the movie, looking at my phone for the Wikipedia plot. No, not one thing made. You know what I felt like when I was similar vein, I felt like when you start reading a book and then you read the part of the page and you're like, oh, yeah, I don't even remember. And you have to start over that page and give us the option to. I'm like, what is who? I mean, the voice. I know. I don't know. What was that? Where did that even come from? What voice? The voice. Oh, the mom and Timmy and Timmy. You're not going to be allowed to order something. I don't know. It's like we're on a ship. It's Connor. I they knows vibes like they're taking over planets. There's spices. From what I understood from what I understood from the Wikipedia plot. Yeah, I read the Wikipedia plot to the whole book too. Yeah, after. So what I think it's basically there's a lot of different planets. Yeah, and one of them and ones and day lives on has the spice and I think that you would want that. And basically everything. Yeah, so you want that spice for sure. Yeah. Think of it as a planet of everything like the bagel seasoning. And Timmy's family somehow became in control of the land of the spice, but they weren't there. They weren't there. They went to a third party planet to control the land of the spice, because it would actually make them die if they were exposed to the spice, but they want it at the same time. They want it, but it would kill them, but I can't. You know, it pissed me off. You know, really, really the dad died. No, boiler alert. What? Oh, did you catch that the dad died? I didn't. No. No. We died when Timmy started crying dad Oscar, Daler rent. Yes, Oscar Oscar. Okay. I'm thinking they're going to pull it up for us, but hang on. I have a question. Yeah. No, no, I don't have a question. You a comment. I have a comment and a concern. How about Timothy Chalamet posting about Dune 2 the day after Dune was released. It was like Oscar Isaac, Oscar Isaac. Apparently Dune what we saw is literally just like a prelude. To Dune 2. Tell me not before I see it. I want to grab somebody be like, I want to grab everybody collectively and be like. What? Yeah. I'm right there with you. Yeah. Well, it feels like Apple releasing a new iPhone the day after they do the thing on this like Tim Cook being like, this is the new iPhone. And then like, we're like, yeah, let's all buy it. We buy it in the next day. It's like, we got another new iPhone. I don't even get the features. Yeah, I didn't really really I was scared for myself by how little I understood. When it ended, I was like, when did I was like, when did it start? And what? Yeah. Okay. Anyway, more of the story. I didn't get it. You know what, Brooke? I didn't get it either. And that's like, we have a comment. That's like a cool thing that we both. And I don't think we're. I'm not going to revisit it. I don't know. And I do think that the people that do understand it, like they should be escorted immediately to the White House. I think like for if I'm going to watch a movie about space. Oh, I forgot how much you don't like space. Space shoot. Yeah. Yeah, you must not have liked that. I hated it. I was having a panic. I thought the spaceships were tanks like war more tanks. I don't even see a space. I know moving on in the movie. All right. So Paul Rudd was voted sexiest man alive. Agree. Disagree. Agree. I mean, I mean, 100%. Look at us. Look at us. Look at us. Look at us. Look at us. I don't even think there's anything to say. Like, yeah, of course he's a sexiest man alive. I mean, come on. And it's he gets better to be Paul Rudd and wake up every morning and look in the mirror and say, I look better every single day. That's what a feeling. What a feeling. He just like, like think of even like when he was on Clueless, like, cute. But no, but you know what? He was on friends. He looked better than he looked on friends 40 years ago. Whenever they feel like he gets better looking every day. It's scary. He must have the Sorcerer's Stone or some sort of is that what keeps people alive and looking young. Who had that in the Harry Potter movie? Dumbledore. Well, basically at the beginning of the movie. He's no Paul Rudd. He's no Paul Rudd. Basically, at the beginning of the movie, it was in the bank and then Hagrid took it and hit it and then Voldemort was trying to get it. Okay, you can watch if you. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, nothing nothing would go things to be proud to be proud to be an American. Where's Paul Rudd? This is sexy. Yes, man. I lie. Yeah. Proud of my country. Finally, finally, you have my vote. My president. That is my president. Okay. Oh, you were telling me about this. I don't even want to talk about it. Okay. That's completely fine. Kindle Jenner in her dress. I just saw it seconds ago. I mean, I'm torn because on one hand, like if you are kindle dinner and you look like that, she's a spectacle. Right. And you look like that. Sure. Go ahead. Wear that dress. But I do think know your place. Know your tongue. That you shouldn't have worn that to your friend's wedding. She didn't. Oh, she wore a bride's made dress. That was the same as Gigi to the reception party. The reception, of course. Also, the bride was still in her bride. Also. Yeah. No. Yeah. No. No, no, no. She changed. They went to the reception and shook some ass. I think I get confused. This is the bride not wear her wedding dress. She changes. She wear it. You wear it to the reception. And then I think a lot of brides change into something more flirty and fun. Really? The dance. Okay. I could be wrong. I haven't never been invited. I feel like every people just keep wearing their wedding dresses. But what? Okay. Well, different drugs. Different drugs. I think what I will say is like, if I invited Kindle dinner in my wedding, I'd ask her to. I'd comfortably remove her. No. I'm like, you would impress for my wedding. Oh, she's in every. She's got headlines about the wedding because she's. That's why you get invited. If you don't want her dressing like that, like don't invite one of the most gorgeous people. No, I think if I ever wasn't even in the same room as Kendall, I. I'd ask for her to be. I think. I would love her. But I don't want to be anywhere in the 10th. No, that was me. That was me meeting like Jacob or should I talk about Jacob already tell her Cameron. At least you didn't almost throw up on Tyler Cameron speaking of it's true. Yeah. It's rough for you. And that was from we went on a plane that did 15 parabolas for a doctor pepper campaign. Yeah. And they said to us, no one really. It's pretty rare that you would get motion sick. But just in case. Five minutes and I couldn't find her. They strapped her to the ground because we were in zero gravity. I'm doing back flips and broke his. Has this giant like captain of this plane like on her. He was so sweet holding her down to the ground and she's white in the face. And then I was throwing up into this bag and they you have to hold the bag like on on your face basically or your throw up will float. And Tyler Cameron and Dale Moss are just like floating. And she's vomiting into a bag. That was funny. Yeah. Okay. This is going to be fun. We have another segment audience advice. That are followers that are vast amount of followers sent in. Right. To ask for advice. And we are so happy to give you advice. That's too well-rounded to give advice. Successful 25 year olds. We're looking forward to going into this advice segment. I do want to say no, I don't. Okay. Go ahead. Okay. Well, I you know, I don't have my glasses. So would you mind reading the first one? You do it. So this first question request came in from at wheel spoon on one social platform. My roommate is a worse and will not do the dishes been there to question.
one, what's your worst roommate you've ever had and two, how do I get them to do the god damn dishes? Okay, jump in here, tap in, tap in. I'll tap. What comes to mind when I think of the worst roommate I've ever had was senior year of college. I was obsessed with making chicken soup and I live, yum, so good, right? And I live with five girls in my own rooms. Sorry, thank you. Do you have anything else you want to add about soup? Just soup is good. And I had this like really nice giant soup pot that my mom got me because she was really like proud of me for learning how to cook and making healthy meals. And it was like this expensive nice pot. And one day I couldn't find it when I went to go make my soup. And like a pot, a big pot is not something that just like goes missing. Oh shit. Is it going to be in this girl's room? So I'm looking everywhere. And then finally, I'm like, I'll check this girl's room, like why would it be there? But she just like takes cup sometimes and hordes them. And I was like, I don't see why a pot would be there. She's using my pot as a trash can for cute tips, dirty cute tips. I can't make that up. I didn't even say anything. I just took the pot. And of course me is like thinking, oh, is she going to be mad at me because I wanted to her room without asking? But then you have to apologize. But no, I would say that was like the most startling roommate experience that I've ever had. And what I did about that was didn't speak to her and was passive aggressive for the next six months of the lease. Yeah, sure. Yeah. My worst roommate experience was 2019. I lived with two adult men. And they got in a fight and got restraining orders on each other. And I had to be the medium between that to communicate because they weren't allowed to talk to each other even though we lived in a three-bedroom apartment. Right. So that would be by law, they weren't allowed to speak. And I hated them both. Anyway, we can't say that. Well, yeah, I can't. I hated them both. And so that was crazy. That's bad. I had it like on the weekend stuff go to the police and to like finish their case. And I was like, I don't care if they live or die. I honestly like I definitely don't care for like buddies after this. So that was it. Were they fighting constantly or not speaking to each other? One of them got mad. So this was this is interesting actually. So like one of them got really sick in February of 2020 or like February of 2020. So it was like pretty February, like right before March, which is when everybody went into lockdown. And like we were hearing about this thing COVID. But it was like in China, like it was in the US. And I was like, that's gross. But like this guy worked from home already. So he would like lay on the couch all day. And he was like so sick. And he was using all the dishes. And I was like, I'm just going to not ever interact with him until and like it just grows vibes. And my one roommate was like, dude, he's laying on the couch. COVID is like happening. Like what if yes, COVID, we can't be anywhere near him. And he's using all the dishes and like leaving him in the sink after like glasses that we'd like touch. Right. Did you have a preference in your roommates? Like did you like the one that had COVID a little bit better? No, no, no, no, no, no. Yeah. Yeah. But um, so I heard them one night. I got home from a run. They got in the fight and then I heard them hitting each other. And then they had the one roommate was like, they're 30 by the way. Like three zero. Like like in their 30s now. And you know, don't get in a quarrel. Like figure that right. Right. Right. Like your grown man. You can do that. They got in a fight because they also shared in Amazon. Oh my god. Were they friends before? No, no. So they just there's so much wrong with it. I could talk about that for an hour, but wow. Okay. And how would you like go about navigating that and getting them? Oh, I got like go of my job the next week and then never I broke my lease and never talked to you. So I guess what me and Connor would say in reference to how do I get them to do the goddamn dishes is be positive aggressive and don't speak to them and leave the situation. Remove yourself by your own dishes. Yeah. Well, no. Well, we are good at advice, huh? Yeah. Oh, one. I guess I used to do talking about passive aggressive. This is the worst. This is the worst thing I've ever done. Senior year, my senior year. I lived with five guys. And any one roommate specifically was just gross. And I was like, you got to do your dishes. And it was just him every single time. Did you say that to him? Because I was thinking an option would be to say, would you mind any time any time any time I would call him and be like, Oh, my God. I'm sorry. Like, Oh, my God. Like my bad. Well, now I seem like a deck. Right. And I was just like your grow. Like, so I started putting his plates like in front of his door of his bedroom, like on the ground. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think like the first thing that a rational person would do that me and Connor probably have not done would say, Hey, would you mind pitching in a little bit more and doing the dishes? Like, I think that's normal. I have not done that when I've had issues. And I've had tons of your car before. That being said, one of my roommates asked me if I could, if I like super sweetly, like, would you mind taking out the trash more? And I was like, didn't speak to her for three weeks. I was like, fuck you. Yeah. How dare you ask me that? And I didn't take out the trash. Yeah. And now I'm reflecting on that. That's good. Yeah. It's about personal growth. If I had been in that situation now, I would have said, Sure. Watch that space. Watch that space. I'll watch for space for the trash and I'll be taking it out. Yeah. Well, now you've grown. I've grown. I do. I love loving. I live alone as well. I know. Do you love it? I don't know. I know. You're so warming up to it. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I like there's a spider in my house and like, I'm not going to kill it because it feels nice to have company. Yeah. I will be killing them. I love having no one near me, I think. Cool. Yeah. So the next question is from Jack reached her. Jack reached her. My new girlfriend wants to come over to my apartment for dinner tonight. But the only thing I have to cook with is my air fryer. What should I do? How do I impress her? I mean, you came to the right pair. You came to the right. Just both separately bought air fryer. And I mean, it changed my life. Not having to bend down to turn on the oven. Like, that's like, what more could you ask for? That's what I love about my air fryer. I could go on for my entire life. Like, I could talk for an hour and a half about my air fryer. Actually, my last TikTok posted was 60 seconds of me being like, I'm stoked. Like, I want to join a Facebook group. Like, I want to like, know everything I can do with this. Like, it's your baby. It's my baby. Like, it is my son and I'm like proud of it. Yeah. You know, like, I can't wait to get home and like, throw whatever I have. And it can do anything. I think it would be really impressive to cook a full meal in an air fryer. Something that you do that's interesting that I don't do is you throw everything in it once. Like, case ideas, nuggets, whatever, meatballs, empanadas. Empanadas. All in it once. Pasta. Yeah. Everything in it once. I could throw. Oh my god. So what would you recommend he made in the air fryer? I mean, you name it. I, you can look up online like full course meal via air fryer. Yeah. There is an abundance of articles like you could do a steak. You could do, you could do, ready? You could do a steak, two steaks, whatever. You can cook them at the same time depending on how your air fryer cooked to perfection mind you. It is, it's just like, we're so lucky to live on the plane of existence on reality where air frires can fully cook a steak to perfection. Like I'm, we just got the chills a little bit. Oh shit. Oh god. Uh, and Paul Rhodes is actually his man in, in, yeah, life. Yeah. We're just, it's a special time. I do, I would do depending on what your preference is. I'll go, I'll do a couple, steak, cooked to perfection. You can do medium rare in their settings on it. Let's just like look it up in a baked potato and guess what? You can get frozen greens from Trader Joe's or Whole Foods or something and throw them in there and you could do veggie. You can have all the food groups. You could veggie, starch, meat. Do you put your veggies in with your meat at the same time because there's two different settings? No, I don't. Yeah, okay. I was just checking. Because me has to be cooked. Right. Different than the veggie. So you would just move forward with the steak and the empanadas together and the veggie stuff. No, no, you would not. You wouldn't. Okay. No. So the next question is from Michelle, my smell. Yesterday I woke up with a massive nose bleed and I got blood all over myself. The only problem is that I didn't realize until I got to school and everyone saw. Ooh. Yeah. How am I ever going to get my classmates to stop calling me bloody Mary? How do you keep your chin up when you're embarrassed, when you embarrass yourself in high school? I think you just have to completely reclaim and own the experience. Instead of having other people call you bloody Mary, you need to start calling yourself bloody Mary and then it'll just die down. Because no one's going to stop. No one's going to care if you care. You know, what do you think? Like I would just full send me bloody Mary. You would? That's how I go. We got a hot topic and anything. That's like my whole thing is anything embarrassingly happens to me. I'm posting it on TikTok. Yeah. Like I'm getting ahead of it. Like yeah, for sure. That's a good way to do it. Everybody knows my most embarrassing, like you'll know. Yeah. It's something embarrassing happens. How do you go to school? I mean, I just don't really feel sorry for this person because I need not realize you're covered in blood. Whoa. Boke up. Covered in blood.
- No offense. - Yeah, that isn't an interesting situation. - I had one experience just like that. - Really? - Yeah, it's kind of raunchy, but I'm gonna try to tell you. - Yeah, would you? - I was in high school. I think it was senior year, and I was at like a house party. And I got a bloody nose, but I didn't know when I was with a girl in a bathroom, like a half bath, so there was like barely room. And we were kissing. And I was facing her, and there was a mirror behind her. And I looked and it was like darkish, but I was like, there's shit all over my face. And then I like turned on the light, and like it was all over her face too. So we both looked bloody. - That's, and it must have taken a minute to find the source too. That's the same thing. - I was like, "She bleeding or am I bleeding?" - Right. - And I was bleeding, it was me. I didn't, I haven't talked to her. See in that situation, I would probably like, not even clean myself up, I would just walk out and be like, "Guys, this happened to me." - This had this basically, this did happen to me. And I was just like, "Right, what are you gonna do?" - I don't think those, these are embarrassing. - I don't either. - I think kind of sick. - Yeah. - I don't think they're sick, but I don't think it's like ew. - Oh yeah. - You know? I think like, yeah, I don't think blood is like ew. Okay. - Cool. - That's what I'm feeling. - Okay, I mean, we've been talking for a really long time. - We've been talking for so long. You gotta run off and do anything today? - Not, no to you. - I'm booked in busy. I gotta go. - You're booked in busy? - Yeah, I gotta go. - What are you doing? - I'm gonna go to Venice, and I am on the Friday Beer's podcast this afternoon. - Today? - Yeah. - Wow. You've been doing a lot of talking today. I will, I mean, probably go knit or something. - Cool. - I don't know. I'm making a special project. - Feel free to ever make me. - Would you wear something? - Something, if you could make me a whole sweater, I'll pay for it. - Okay, you never express any interest in my knitting. - All right, that's all the time we have. Thanks for coming. - Hey, you guys. - Thank you guys. - Seriously. - Yeah, that was. - I mean, you're watching Brooke and Connor make a podcast. - You are. - And that is what it is at the end of what we're talking about is this, and it's happened. And it's happened. - And it's gonna, I hopefully it'll happen again. - Soon. - Cool. - Hi, everyone. - Hi. - This week, I'm close friends. - But she was able to, as they say in France, Jack him off, during the Simpsons movie. - I tricked you into being on this podcast, kind of. - Not really. - You are primed and lubed up to become a 48 year old. - I'm so ready. - I'm so jealous. - Are you gonna do it right now? Are you gonna talk about why it looks like you feed yourself? (laughing) - Sign up on tmgstudios.tv to watch the full bonus episode. (upbeat music)

He was on a Bird scooter and got hit by a Toyota Corolla at an intersection, injuring his right hip and causing swelling that made him unable to wear a belt for over a month.
Connor finds the 10-minute version annoying and unnecessary, while Brooke defends it as brilliant and a way for Taylor to process her past relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal.
An NFT is a non-fungible token, a unique and non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a blockchain, unlike cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin which are tradable.
The prank involves calling a parent and claiming you were charged $500 for an oil change plus $200 for premium air in tires, to see their reaction. Both dads were outraged and advised them to confront the manager.
An IPO is an initial public offering when a company goes public on the stock market. Connor worked at Bumble and Bird, both of which went public after he left, so he didn't benefit from either.
