We got Houston at Texas Tech on Friday night. SMU at Louisville, Mississippi State at South Carolina. I'm excited to see where we're at. - That's fireworks game. - That's a fireworks game. We got a guy in here who rides the Cox man. - It's a heart. - I didn't even mean to say it like that. - I didn't even mean to do that. - Every year you ride the game. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - It's football season. - Yeah, it's football season. - Yeah, exactly. One game would you like to start with? - Let's go to Florida Auburn. - Okay. - The game we're going to this Friday. - Yeah, let's go to Auburn. - First time in Auburn. I heard how haunted is, how scary it is. I'm personally very fired up for the game. Two coaches that are seeing each other for the first time. One coach that was supposed to maybe go to Auburn and go into Florida. - You would go down that road, huh? - I mean, is that kind of-- - Do you think I'm not fully versed in that storyline? - It's proper context. - But Auburn was trying, they were both essentially trying to get some role. - You want to tell you what happened? - Yeah, yeah, I was in a picture, but go ahead. - Hugh Freeze was gone. John Summerall was all but a lot for the Auburn job. Administratively, they really screwed the length. landing up and they had to pull the nose up at the last minute to a run around or in coaching terms, they had to move on to their second option because some were all said, "Yeah, I'm good." And then Florida hired John Sumeral. And then Alex Golish looked locked in for Arkansas, but just between three of us, no one else listening, I don't think Golish was going to go to Arkansas. Ever. I think he was going to choose USF over Arkansas. And if anyone's watching Arkansas right now, you kind of see why. But then the Arb and Jobs open. And Alex Golish takes the Arb and Jobs. And kind of like with the Penn State thing, how they sort of low-key screwed up the process for the better part of 50 days, Penn State ends up with Matt Campbell. So it's a big win. Auburn ended up without Alex Golish, which is also a big win. But that's for five years from now for us to dissect. As for this weekend, the guy you got is facing the guy that you thought you had who's got family ties to Auburn, but who's at a press conference in Gainesville saying anyone pulling for Auburn when Florida puts food on our table is dead to me. And then Golish is back in Lee County, which is where Auburn is saying Golish said we're friends or some of us said we're friends, not this week or not. And then people are calling it performative because I don't think people understand the spirit of competition. Spirit of competition is beautiful. Got to be your goal is to you got to be, yeah, this has to be a personal feeling. Like you're you're coaching against the guy that Auburn wanted. Yeah. You're basically seeing the almost X. They ran they ran to and they said no, so they sailed for you. And Florida looks good right now. And we'll see it in five years. I will know that the true result of all three of these coaches, four of these coaches. Here's what I think this week is a big like it's, you know, it's what have been done for me lately. That's what sports is all about. So this is where they can all plant their flag. What I mean when I say we'll see in five years, which I've said before on the show is I think Matt Campbell and Alex Golish will both win. And I think that some people who did everything to screw up the hiring process will end up getting credited when they shouldn't be credited. But that's neither here nor there. Okay. I do have a question about the yes. Florida's favorite by two and a half. Do you think the right team's favorite because if you add on home field, this is basically a fan will telling you Florida's like four and a half or five points better than Auburn. And so far, they've played a grand total of FAU and Campbell. Los mascot is what exactly? No one knows anything about Florida, the camels, by the way, it's the camels. No one knows anything about Florida. Yeah. Now, what we do know about Auburn is they played Baylor knows really clunky. Some of us got emotional and got chastised for being emotional watching that game towards the end. Yeah, people. That was a tight game. So what would you rather know? Would you rather know that you have some flaws and inefficiencies, but find out in a win in week one or would you rather know nothing about yourself except that you've got a brand new quarterback that started four total games in his career and a brand new coordinator and a whole brand new staff. And we're going on the road for the first time against a team that learned a lot about itself in week one and now gets to welcome us into their backyard with a quarterback who throwing motion problems or not is starting his 35th career game. And we're an underdog. Auburn's the underdog. I don't want to see by I don't want to see Byron Brown throw on the perimeter with that throwing motion. It scares me every time somebody's going to take that shit to the house. No, I do think he can dial down field and operate the offense. He is a dynamic in the running game, but when he throws on the perimeter, I hold my breath every time. He almost got taken to the house last week against whoever they played. Yeah, it was like a stubborn mess, but he was he was picked off three times in week one. Like we watched that. Yeah. I don't know how they're trying to get the ball going. I like them at the line of scrimmage though, like when you ask about do you feel like the right team is favorite? I think the right team's favorite. I think Florida, they look incredible offensively. A lot of explosive. A lot of athletes. Their offense can go. We were joking with us this week. This offense is floor off. They've got to go. They've got to go. They have athletes everywhere. It was Dallas Wilson, a Vernon Brown studs. Like number one, Vernon, he's their gadget guy. Six is an athlete. They have an athlete a quarterback with Aaron Filo. Their running back is good. I'm not in love with their line of scrimmage. I'm not in love with their front seven on defense. What I think when you look at is the right team favorite, I think there's a lot of excitement around Florida right now. I like Auburn. I think Auburn is going to be able to run the football on this team. I think this is a front seven that Florida hasn't seen, close to seeing. We can talk about what Auburn's going to be if they're going to win over six and a half or seven and a half games this year, all we want. But the defense is the top defense in the country, especially in the SEC. They fly to the football. In Byron Brown, like if they can control the line of scrimmage, I think they can bleed them out a little bit. I don't think it's going to be a shootout by any means. I finally in anywhere on total, it's the under. But I like Auburn. I think Auburn, you know, with the three turnoves that they had, Byron is just going to have to protect the football. But if he does that, I like Auburn in the same. I'm going to go confidence level three. I'm going to go three units and I'm going to go, I'm going to go Auburn Moneyline. Wow. Auburn Moneyline. Wow. That's a nice pull. Okay. I'm going to go Auburn Moneyline. Do you agree with Will Compton and Auburn? I agree that Florida hasn't played anybody. And I agree that Vernell Brown and they're getting singleton back this week who played at Auburn last year and was completely wasted, not in terms of alcohol. Literally, they didn't use him because they couldn't get him the ball. Dallas Wilson, Jaden ball, maybe the best hillback in the league for all we know. But it's about whether I can distribute the ball to them or not. Otherwise, they're just wasted. And for all the trust that people have, including me, long term, and Buster Falkner and Aaron Filo, that combo coming in from Georgia Tech. You see how bad Georgia Tech is this year without them. Obviously, that's a good combo. That's a good package. I'm just so fresh off of watching Oklahoma come into Michigan with sky high confidence and get totally rattled and everything that they thought they knew about themselves and everything that some of us thought we knew about Oklahoma gets thrown in the ditch. I'm so fresh off of that that I'm really cautious about this. And I think there's a lot to be said, Byron Brown, even with some of his faults and flaws, the experience factor combined with the home field factor combined with so much newness at Florida. I think it's too early to respect them to the point where they're favored on the road. So yes, I agree with William, two units for me. But Auburn, I'll take a money line too. Two units, three units. The scariest part about this game to me is where it's being played for home. I've never been to Auburn. I'm excited to see it for the first time. But here how haunted it is and even Nick Saban is the greatest college coach of all time. The way he talks about it is, it gives me some unease. Another thing that gives me unease about Florida is Auburn between these two teams is test the most. I don't know how good Baylor is, but they still had to get up for a game in week one and go against competent competition. They didn't look great during it. Byron Brown. I had sky high expectations from him. I know the graveyard also had sky high expectations. Don't love the throwing motion. They do want to play in the perimeter that Will was talking about where they kind of dump it out. But Cody was doing this and I got distracted. I didn't get to take the supplements that Will took this morning, so he's operating. But no notes. No notes. Byron Brown. He'll throw it off to the perimeter and they expect their guys to go get yards. I just don't see with how aggressive the secondary in Florida, how they're not going to challenge that and make Byron Brown be him through the air. He can do it. You see Southern Miss, which you can say what you want about college football, Southern Miss. It's a total guys in the roster at the end of the train's report last year that it's like not a real D1 school. No disrespect to them. It's just the reality of where he lives. You see the flashes in Byron Brown, like he gets one call back from holding that he runs 40 yards, breaks multiple tackles he touched on. He throws it deep to number four right in the bread basket and avert. That one's called incomplete. I just don't trust that he's not going to give Florida the ball. You brought the trenches. People are down on Florida's offensive line, but I know they haven't been challenged, but I see a group of guys, five guys that are going in the same direction to the same people with the same technique showing me that they're well coached. They haven't had a lot of penalties. They haven't had a lot of turnovers. Philo's only had one in the two games, and then you said that little running back, Jayden Ball is good. Then you said might be the best. I think he, I'm in that camp where I think Jayden Ball with, let's say the offensive line is slightly above average to average. And DJ Durkin, who's going to bring pressure, especially up the middle during the game, his vision is incredible. He can stop on a dime and turn things into x place. I don't think Philo has to be a hero in this game. I think he has to just take with the defense gives him. He's going to be put under pressure. I think he's an effective runner. I just like the operation that Florida's had up into this point. You can't judge him based on competition, but it's how they have operated as a team. You judge the Southern missile competition. But Florida's won against a couple of monasteries. Southern misses. Yeah, Southern misses. It's like, you know, you take some of our audience and put them in uniforms and it's like that's kind of a shot at our crowd or show it up for this room. All of the sign, Jack. Do we see anything? Well, I'm saying the talent level of Southern Miss is not there at all. You cannot. Auburn didn't get it going till later because they bite themselves in the ass. So Florida, it's like, I have to watch the film of who they play against and they play FAU who is their best competition up to that point. I think where Auburn has a huge edge. I'm not high on their offensive line, but I'm even lower on Florida's defensive line. I don't think their defensive line is very elusive. They're not slippery. They're more like magnets to off its alignment. They kind of stick the blocks. I think they'll do okay in the run games. I like their linebackers quite a bit. But as far as like rushing the passer, they're gonna have to bring one or two extra. A follow, fourth start ever. But he's had the same offense according to who came up from Georgia Tech with him. I like that continuity. I loved it and ball. I love one. I love six. I just think there's, at the end of the day, there's way more talent on Florida than there is Auburn. But they've played cleaner against lesser competition, which is what you kind of need to check the box at this point. So I'm gonna take Florida. I'm gonna take them plus the points and I'll go to you and it's on that. That's how I feel. That's, I like Florida in this game. - Southern Miss did make a bowl game last year. - So there's also two guys on the roster when after the transfer portal players. - And I'm not saying I'm low on their offensive line 'cause you were kind of educating me on them, knowing what they're doing, playing hard, like all this stuff. I just when I'm watching it, I just don't see them moving the line of scrimmage where Auburn has got a tough front seven. And you talk about Aaron Phylo too. All the question marks with the Byron Brown. Like he's still 4,000 total yards of offense his last couple of seasons. Like the dude is, his evidence is there that he is a guy who can play well in this system. And he's good on the ground. And they go against Baylor, Baylor had, like you were talking about it going in a week one. One thing that Miranda was high on was their defensive line. And they might not have had the best game running the ball. But 23 was still average in five and carry. Like they just, they turn the ball over three times. And Aaron Phylo, two fourth career start. When you watch both of those games, he had two third down. He had two third downs in the first game and three in the second game. Like he just, he hasn't been stressed. He hasn't been tested. They have the athletes. Like they've just out-athleted guys. Like they have a lot of explosive plays. But again, it's like when you have a stack the offense like Auburn does. I'm excited to see Aaron Phylo. Like is he because he looks like a good athlete. He looks scrappy. He's accurate. Like he can do all the things. But he hasn't been under any pressure. He hasn't had to go out there one because they got the twos in in the second half. So you don't have a lot of, like hey, let's watch him on this third down that they got to have right here. He just hasn't been in those situations. And he'll be in a lot of those third down situations against Auburn. Yeah. So a couple of things you said, the offensive line. Are they the world beaters? I think that's to be determined. The answer is probably not. Buster Faugner, the offensive coordinator. What I think he does a great job in the run game is he gets these, which is Auburn is a penetrating defense, gets them to run East and West with their outside zone game because Jayden Baugh is a great job of running outside zone. So they'll get on their outside zone scheme Wanda, Force, Zorro type of runs, getting the defense to run East to West. And then once they get him less penetrating, all of a sudden they're hitting the gap scheme down. So it's having the offensive line play as a cohesive unit. But it's also scheming them into advantageous situations, which, regardless of the competition they're going in, Buster has done that. And then the run games, everything, like Fylo, 50% of his passes have come out of the play action. So for Florida to be successful, they have to run the ball really well. I think they're going to do that against this very aggressive defense. There's going to be splash face. There's going to be TFLs. That's Durkins, that's Durkins defense. But I think there's going to be holes for a ball to exploit. And that is where I think you start to get guys to come down a little bit more. That's where the shots are at. And then that's where you get athlete versus athlete. I'm taking Florida Josh Payne. I still believe everything I said about Auburn. But listening to you really ignited a new belief in my mind that no one could have made a better case for under 53 and 1/2. Then the three of us combined just did on this show. So not only do I want to change my pick on this game to under 53 and 1/2. I want to hit the table on under. Oh, five units on the under 53 and 1/2. I don't even want to do something too. I know, you're kind of excited. Long show, long show, long season. What was the shot that brought the camels back on that? There's just so many different scenarios for the crowbar theory to be in play here for either offense to grind to a halt. You made the case for Florida. Really, we all kind of did of. Maybe it clicks, but we don't know. Maybe it doesn't. And if you've had a lot of explosivity, if you out-ath-leaded people, and that's where chunks of your yardage have come from so far, home field plus DJ Durkin could grind that to a halt. And if you have to sustain drives, if you've got to do it 11, 12 plays a couple of times, I don't know that you can do that. And then on the flip side, Byron Brown, all the yardage, all the stats, like the 4,000 yard season, stuff like that, it comes against a level of competition. When he's faced the increased level of competition, the production hasn't scaled. It's been really ugly. They've actually, like they beat Florida last year. It wasn't cause of offense. And so there's two ways in my mind where these teams kind of grind to a halt. Guys, I'm gonna be honest. I don't know what to do in this game. So I'm gonna need one of you to talk me into something. - One of us to say something. - Maybe somebody from the stands to just yell something at the end of their presentations to say, take this. I'm not. I was watching their TPS today. Oregon State number one, they tested both of these. - That quarterback's nice. - Yeah. - That quarterback is nice. - Number two salty back there. I'm not. It'll be interesting to see how they approach this game while offensively getting Castellanos more involved in a competitive level. Not like a complimentary Will Hammond's our guy here and Castellanos comes in for these situations. But I like, Hammond does a lot of velocity on the ball. I don't know if that has to do with him coming back off of his ACL. I'm just not on love with what I'm seeing offensively. I wanted to sit there and watch a tape and find the optimism that Texas Tech is gonna not turn it around, but turn it around in the public sense of people are kind of low on them right now. But I don't, I don't know, I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do. And I'm conflicted 'cause I love me some Joey McGuire. - That was at six and a half yesterday, wasn't it? - Yes. - God, that breaks my heart 'cause I loved, I loved that lot of six and a half, seven and a half is a little more nerve wracking. - Can I buy the point? - Yeah, you can buy it down. - Oh yeah, I forgot. Yeah, I forgot where I had to do whatever we want. I think you're right with Castellanos. Castellanos I think needs to be more part of their game plan. He's a guy that just athletically, like when you're not showing how competitive your team, or not showing that you're above and beyond the number one team in the big 12, you need to have a little bit of a spark. I think Hammond is a stud. I think he's a great football player, but I'm not so sure he's not, you know, he's maybe 70% coming off that knee. You see him in the drop back. It's a lot of, it's not a smooth drop back. It's a lot of hopping. And when he goes to throw, he's not pushing off that right leg a lot. And you see it, well, a lot of the way his passes die. And I think Texas State needs to really establish a run game against Houston. I think Castellanos is the guy to get that done. I think they have more talent to get that done. But then the quarterback on Houston, or the team in general lost two games. They've had 11 hundred total yards. Connor Wagman, I think he's a good ball player. But I think for Houston to be successful in this game, they're gonna have to run it. And Texas Tech is bad as they've been against the pass. They've been incredible against the run. They've held teams of 72 yards on average. 74 yards in the last two games. I just think when Houston's going to have to throw their way into a win here or throw them into seven and a half, it's not gonna work for them. The talent between Houston and Texas Tech, I think even though people say in the Bay 12, the margin has gotten closer for who could win. It's gone from like, you know, about here to there. There's still a wide gap. And I think it is Texas Tech. They just haven't played the way they need to yet. So I'm gonna take Texas Tech plus seven and a half here. - Minus seven and a half. - Well, minus seven and a half. I'm gonna give you six and a half. - Take you up and I'll put four units on that. I'm gonna buy mine. I'm gonna put a little more in my units. I like Texas Tech. I like Joey McGuire. I think the defense giving up a hundred and 14 yards through the year against Oregon State is like a massive wake up call for them. To where they need to play better. They bring a bunch of transfer guys in for Jacob Rodriguez. And I'm forgetting the name, but the first round picked for the Jets. They have a lot of productivity. And that's it, David Bailey, thank you. In that front seven, but it's time to go now. Now we go. - You gotta go. - You gotta go. - Texas Tech does have to go. - But I do think you bump up. Cast a lot of us of snaps. Probably 10 or 15, I think. - Just and just to try and get the run game going. 'Cause you said they're gonna have to establish the run and I'm thinking, the stuff I've watched, like are they going to be able to establish a run game. Texas Tech. Yeah, I'm asking, yeah, I'm asking if they'll even be able to do that without adding the piece of Castellanos. See that number? 3.3 yards per carry against Oregon State. Yeah. It's not good enough. It's not good enough for Wilham and to find balance for them to have balance and play calling. I don't think it'll be much better Friday night. You know, you remember when Oregon almost got beat by Boise. So they go on the road to Oklahoma State and everyone sitting there thinking, "My favorite by 24 and a half, yeah, that makes sense. They'll get their act together this week." And they didn't. They got beat. I know what, you know, the history says is supposed to happen in the spot. History says, "Texas Tech, slowly getting their act together. They had the source be stuff. It's Wilham and it quarterbacked now. It's a new cast of characters. They're figuring things out against outmaned opponents week 1 and week 2, but week 3 conference play begins, Houston and they're on a Friday night. That's when it'll come together. Maybe it will, but I actually agree that Castellanos has probably got to be a bigger part of this game plan because I think there is a chance that they get bogged down offensively because they certainly play a high enough caliber opponent this week to where, I mean, if you're not moving it, you either count on one of two things. You either change it up a quarterback, give them a different element to look at, or you just take the game over defensively. Next year's Texas Tech team could just take games over defensively. Think about the Brigham Young game. They didn't move the ball worth anything against Brigham Young, but they smoked them defensively, dominated defensively. This team is 63rd and have a great so far this year. So they are probably not the caliber of defense that we saw. I know Joey believes that they have the personnel. They've certainly got like the experience level, the total snaps played, but Houston can pressure you too. So if you can't run the ball on them and they're able to get after Hammond and Hammond is far more, you know, a still threat than Wegman is, at least Wegman can move, at least he can improvise and make some plays with his legs. I think that number is based on preseason expectation a lot more than what you've seen because it's kind of weird that they're playing in week three, but they've already got a common opponent and it's organ state of all teams. But if you look at what these two teams did, just lined up against organ state at every turn, Houston's the better looking team, organ state, covering it's both of them by the way, but Houston's the better looking team. So I'm going to be on the opposite side. I'll take Houston plus the points. I think there's a reasonable shot they win the game out, right? But I do think Texas tech may find a way to win it, but I think it's a really tight game. And if they don't win it, then think about what that does to the big 12 picture. Well, why don't you? Houston wins that because Utah looked incredible last week. Brigham Young looked really good against Arizona last week. Houston, if they win this game, will have looked good. Oklahoma state just took down Oregon, Kenny Vellingham's hanging out in London somewhere this week. And they've got a conference game against Kansas, who knows what the big 12 is. So I'm going out. You left on out Kansas state. Yeah. They said on Kansas state. Don't sleep on them. There's one thing I'm always guilty of. It's accidentally leaving out Kansas state. Yeah. We're in no one's perfect. I'm going to put two units on this Houston plus seven and a half. Well, the way you spoke was like a five slap on the table. Hey, hey, I'll say this too. And as just the third party here waiting on which one who's going to talk to me and what, as far as the debate goes, like, I'm going to Houston plus seven and a half. I don't know why, but that's what I'm taking. Yeah, because that was poetic. It was poetic, but then he finishes it up with two. The comedy, he spoke so confidently and then I was just like, I'll go to you. I'll go on unit. My confidence level's still low, like there, but it's an emotional part of me that wants Texas tech to get it turned around. You know what it is? So I'm going to be aware of that. It's also like the run game does need to be better. I think that's where Castelanos is. I'm massive up there. One in the blocker. He's very dynamic and they're using me using him and like a gimmicky like Wildcat wave and though he is a quarterback. But I think if he takes steps, you put the game on against Alabama last year and he's at Florida State, get him outside the pocket, allow him to have one or two reads, then run the ball. Like you can take over the game that way because Texas tech is going to make them one dimension. That's why I'm only two units. Yeah. I don't know what him. I don't know what his presence would mean in the game. He's going one unit on Wigman, it's like, I'm trust Wigman, you've been in my life like seven years now. I don't know what to expect from you. Yeah. Do you think Houston, if you're a Houston defensive staffer, how much do you think you expect Castelanos to play? I mean, you have a whole period during the week dedicated to the Wildcat because they're not just doing Castelanos, they're doing the running backs as well. Just Castelanos happens to be put out the slot and now they're running back at the quarterback position. They're doing some cards of the things he did best around game last year at Florida State. I just think the talent level and them having like, hey, you're down in the fourth. We had to get it done against what's supposed to be an inferior opponent at their place. Like, there's a lot of wake up calls that take place, especially when you walk in the building where they're in the springtime because there's an emotional element to Texas tech, but they have the talent, they have the five stars, the athletes, and it's like, that's a perfect game to go. Hey, we got out of that one, but we need to realize like, if we're going to be the team, people expect us to be, we can't just walk in, put the jersey on and go. And unfortunately, Houston's the next one. This is this is the exact same line that we had for BYU versus Arizona last year. It is. And I bet. And that final. They bring me on cover. They won by like 11, right? Something like that. Yeah. Arizona was in it the whole game. Yeah. This may be like that. I just think maybe Houston, Texas Tech margin, maybe a little bit closer. It means so much to college football. Let's go. That's why you're into the under. I want to go under. Wow. Yeah. I'm thinking of Castellanos gets more involved. It completely like changes their approach offensively. And again, my thoughts on Wegman, I think Texas tech defense, I think they're fine. Like, I don't think they're going to be as explosive as they were last year, chaotic. But I do think like the pieces that they do have like watching them, they'll get their shit figured out. Some of its MA stuff, misassignments, I think they'll get it figured out. But if Castellanos is going to be in the game more, I think it changes there. It obviously changes the dynamic and how they move offensively. And if they keep what they have going, I'm just not high on him and right now, not high on him. How many units? One unit. One unit. Great breakdown. Great breakdown. Okay. So these defenses are weak where there were these quarterbacks live. And that's an explosive place. Like you look at what Jennings has done. He's number one in the country when it comes to 50 yard completions. And that is by design, like, uh, uh, um, uh, lastly, he's built on tempo and explosives. And when you look at Louisville's defense, they're what tied for second in the worst team in the country as far as giving up explosive plays, like over 50 yard completions. Um, I love kind of holds. I think kind of holds is a better finisher than Ash and Daniels was a, uh, uh, uh, Florida state. Because even if you look at what Louisville does well, that's running the football well. Like you witnessed on Florida state, they ran the ball 45 times for 200 yards, but SMU still went over 400 through the air and won that game. Um, knowing that, uh, kind of kind of holds is a better closure than Ash and Daniels. I think this is going to be an awesome game. I do think it's going to be an explosive game. If you're a bra more your Louisville, you might be thinking, how do you slow this game down to keep, uh, Jennings and SMU that offense off the field. But as far as tempo and explosives go, all you have to do is give up a couple chunk of plays and you're going to track me whether you like it or not Louisville does have a team to compete in the track meet because they've been stress tested, pressure tested against Ole Miss a couple weeks ago. I like the over in this game. I think both quarterbacks are phenomenal. And if I'm trying to hang my hat on which defense which secondary is going to show up, they haven't shown it on tape that they can stop big plays. So I like the over in this game. Very slightly towards Louisville here for me. I'm going to put, um, I'm going to put one unit on Louisville minus one and a half. I think you may very well be onto something with the over. Now the stat profile for Louisville is heavily skewed because they're one of only two teams that have faced trended at Jamble so far. So that's baked in there. But I do, I do think it's valid like the way you're breaking them down is valid. This is one of those where you remember back when the Patriots used to play the Colts and everyone would just say, oh man, it's Peyton vs. Brady, it's Peyton vs. Brady, that's not the matchup. They're not on the field at the same time. However, sometimes if you think you have a similar caliber defensive unit on the field, it really kind of comes down to which quarterback do I trust the most? I like both of them. Granted, I hadn't gotten to see Lincoln Kindholz as much as I've been able to see the other guy, but the other guy Kevin Jennings has turned the ball over and he's got a propensity for it. And he did it against Florida State and Week 1. The game should have been a blowout and instead it's a three point game, still covered two and a half, but a three point game because you kept turning the ball over and keeping a really bad team in a game. You do that against Louisville. Louisville's not a bad team. And Louisville's already in desperation mode because they got beat, whereas you haven't had to pay the price for your mistakes yet. And so I like Louisville at home, taking this one unit, I think it's going to be high score and a lot of variance in it, but I'll lay the one and a half for one unit with Louisville. And Jeff Braun, when he was at his press conference on Monday, the first question they asked him was about Kevin Jennings. He answered the question in full detail about when a minute and a half on it. The next five questions, they asked if I had nothing to do with Kevin Jennings. And Jeff Braun decided to turn it back to Kevin Jennings. So they understand what killed them last year. They know what they have to do. I think a huge benefit to Louisville is playing against Trinidad Chambers and Ole Miss and Week 1. They brought up the X-Play's explosives given up by the defense, and you alluded to it's like, if you play Trinidad Chambers and Ole Miss in the first two games, you're probably going to be in the back end of those explosives. The biggest question mark going this season for Louisville wasn't the defense. And if we look at what Ole Miss was able to do against Louisville, it's people are going to see the explosive plays and the amount of points they put in the board, but what they're not going to really look at is how the back end was able to run with some of those elite wide receivers. How fast that front seven was and how aggressive that defensive front was against an offensive line that is a quote SEC offensive line still figuring themselves out to the point where Ole Miss had to use max protection to get their receivers down the field for Trinidad to have a chance late in that game when they were in an absolute shootout. Then there's conhold to those 24 passes his whole entire career. He's at Ohio State. He loses the job to Julian Sand, which we figured out why he lost that job. He can throw the ball. He can run it. And they have many more ways to attack SMU than SMU has to attack Louisville. And so when I look at it's like, yeah, you have a tall order here by not only getting two Jennings, but also bringing him down because he has that escape ability and the ability to throw it down the field. I dislike the athletes on both sides more. I like kind holds in this position. I like it being at home for Louisville. I like Louisville minus one and a half and I like, I like it at four units. I feel really good about this team. There's a big get back year for them. They got in Barris last year when these two teams played. This is basically whoever wins this is like, you know, it's Miami than them. So there's a lot riding on this. And Louisville last year they returned a lot of production on the defensive side of the ball. And there were top 25 in both categories running past. So it's like all those numbers are very skewed to me because Ole Miss is such a good football team. And Trinidad Chambers is such a good football player. And what Lane Kippen was, they have two Heisman candidates in the back field. So I like Louisville here. I like Louisville a lot. Louisville wins this game too. They are in a pressure moment as far as kind of back against the wall, but you take care of this game. Who else do you really have, right? Not sleeping on everybody in the ACC. Kind of sleeping on them. You'll head and go to sleep. It's fine. You're taking Houston. Yeah. Yeah, well, here's what I want to know. How much grass could be on the ground around this building? Because they've been blowing for a solid 45 minutes out there. And number two is. You know, there's so much hypocrisy in how I'll feel watching this game because you're on the over, you're on the same side I'm on, but for four units. So it's actually in my best interest to lose this, lose this game and even have little of a good shut out and have SMU win like 30 to nothing and that's not a fun place to be. Yeah. It's a game man. It's a game. You're going to move it up to four units. No. You're playing a big match. Then we can just be even now we can both root for the same thing. Should we do that? Yeah, I'm asking you the question because he just goes on to win like 35 31 that's what ends up happening. I'll do it. I'll meet you at three. That's fine. Can I say my units on this game? I'll do two. Two. Oh, you didn't. I like that. I like that as well. I like the over here too because you're going to be a lot of explosive things. You're starting to talk me into some Louisville defense, but I gotta say if you look at their schedule, look at Ole Miss, it's like, okay, you throw those little stats out the window. Yeah. Tritazers like that, dude. Um, which one do we have next? We have cognition. Oh my god. I've been waiting for this one. The problem is Mississippi State is better than South Carolina. And I've been waiting for this one. numbers. It's a lot of easy RPO scheme form to where, when you, if you're South Carolina, defensively going into this game, game planning it, there's not a lot you have to do other than keep your eyes on your work and don't fall asleep out on the perimeter. Because he's got the velocity on the ball to where he can get out there quick if there's enough space. They do have a lot of speed, but it's not like, it's very simple, the run game simple. Anytime you get a y off in the backfield, you're thinking the RPO may be a play action deep anytime a receiver or a tight in the emotion behind the line of scrimmage, it's 90 plus percent run anytime they're taken off before they even get to the line of scrimmage like it's a past play like it's keep your eyes on your work, do your job and stop the run. Because you're going to have to guys out on the perimeter and it's like take care of the box. Like Minnesota did a poor job of tackling the ball carrier for Mississippi state. Mississippi state offensive line eight, that defensive lineup, move it amount of gaps. Like Mississippi state kind of bully to, but if you watch the second half of the Minnesota game, Minnesota was outplaying him for the majority of the third quarter before they didn't get their fourth downplay at the goal line. They go in. They have a long drive kick of field goal. It's 31 13. They get the ball back. The Mississippi state goes three and out. Minnesota drives all the way down the field again. It's fourth and three. They end up going for it instead of kicking a field goal, knowing that your two scores down. They just don't get the field goal. Mississippi state scores one more touchdown. The game is pretty much boring and over from there. And that's against a pro style quarterback too. Like I think Lenore sellers browse in this RPO game, they're going to see a ranked Mississippi state defensively. He's going to see a wrinkle that they just haven't seen at this level of athlete. And again, it's like Lenore sellers, I need him to dial in his accuracy, but I'm hedging on that they had a was a 90 minute rain delay, 90 minute rain delay receiver does need to show up. I do wish Dylan Stewart was playing. So I'm kind of talking my confidence level down, but I do like South Carolina in this game. I'm going to take South Carolina minus three and a half, I'm going to put my confidence level to so to you and it's South Carolina. I think if you're watching Phil on Mississippi state's offense, they're the easiest team and all of college will bolt a scout. You broke down what they can do like, thank you, man, tell the people it's 11 personnel 24/7. And the wise off, you know, all the things you just said, make sense. The problem is Camarita Taylor. That is the problem. The problem is Camarita and it's the RPO, the Norris, like you talked about the DC and the OC. That's the battle. So I go back to Camarita Taylor and the Norris sellers, those are the two guys in this game that are going to make a difference and it's, Camarita Taylor is what South Carolina believed Norris sellers to be a couple of years ago, whether like this is a guy, he can run it, look how big, look how athletic he is, he can throw the ball. He can stand on flat footed and throw at 60 yards down the field. And Camarita Taylor is the new shiny toy in the SEC that everyone's excited about. Complete mystery by me when it came to the Minnesota game last week. I felt very confident about Minnesota, I still think Minnesota is a well-coached discipline ball club, but it's the Camarita Taylor effect. It's the speed they have on the perimeter. I think the Norris sellers goes into this week, understanding his relationship with Beamer, you see the last couple of years when they had a bunch of guys that are going to be NFL draft picks, stay in South Carolina, says a lot about the head coach, says a lot about the culture, says a lot about the whole school in general. I think the Norris sellers are taking this very personal and I think every great athlete should take these things personal. When you're supposed to be the great shiny toy, then something else comes in and it's the new Buzz Lightyear to the Woody and Toy Story one. I love the over in this game. I love 58 and a half. I think this is going to be the biggest firework game of the season. I think they're going to trade, trade blows, both quarterbacks are going to have incredible stat lines. I can't say where I would go in this because I'm a four-the-boys type of guy and I'm not going to let that be public. So I'm going to say 58 and a half over on that. I think fireworks all around and it's going to be a great place to be in South Carolina this weekend to watch football game. I got, I'll do four on that. I'll do four. I love points in this game. Don't be surprised with the early turnover from Camarro Taylor. I wouldn't be surprised. I don't. And William's Bryce's stadiums. Oh, we're never. Look at that. Can I listen? After the minister, again, I was like, oh, miss the stage. Part of turns in. Can put it with anybody. Camarro Taylor can keep them in games. Yeah. You were right. But I also know and through us doing the show last couple of years together is every time I see a new shining toy and I buy into that toy, it bites me in the ass. And also what happens if Camarro Taylor gets hit in the mouth early in the game. I think. Like, how does the team respond? Like that defensive player falls down and he keeps running. Wow. Wow. Camarro Taylor is 6'4", like 240, but he's a unit. Yeah. He's a unit. More like competitively. Yeah. Like, they don't come off to a hot start. Like, it's a slower game. I think it goes back to what we talked about after week one, when we were talking about this game, when they were going up to Minnesota, is the confidence level that this quarterback has is like, Cam Newton as type of confidence. Like he has open throws, crossing out down below. He doesn't give a shit about that. Camarro Taylor is the new Cam Newton. Said by Josh Paye. Oh, I'm sorry. But also, low key. He's kind of like that. Like, the pressure rate of LSU is great, but it doesn't work if you're not going to get to the quarterback. It's a quick potty break to shout out, neutral. No free shout out to the neutral. Yeah, and it moved across three this morning, which does me a huge favor, because I'm taking Ole Miss plus the points. So they're going to give me three and a half. Don't pay peer pressure on me on the money line. I'm just taking the points here. I'm going to put three units on this game. What makes me a little bit nervous is you actually just gave a perfect scouting report for Clemson. So I think there's maybe been a little bit of a knee jerk in the marketplace when everyone watched that week one result. It's really hard to look away from. It's a huge blowout win. And so I think there was a little bit of an overreaction. I actually think Ole Miss got tested way more in week one. And we've probably learned a lot more about Ole Miss in week one. Well, then we did LSU face in Clemson and some of the questions like can LSU sustain a running game against the better defensive front. Actually, we still don't know. I still don't know about LSU's defensive front being challenged with a really experienced interior offensive line here. Clemson couldn't run the ball because they were behind immediately so they had to try and throw inside note they couldn't do that either. So I don't know that I don't know that we saw the water pressure against the dam. If the cracks are there, we don't even know where the cracks are. We theoretically will find out where the cracks are this weekend. I think there's a lot to be said for desperation. I think there's a lot to be said, same way with Texas last week for one team wanting to win the game, one team needing to win the game. Like I can picture a world where LSU walks out of here with a close loss and they're good to go the rest of the year. This has the chance to do something mentally to Ole Miss. If they don't win it, the same way Texas may have been neutered mentally if they didn't come back and win that game against Ohio State last week. Although this is that time's 10 because of the personal connection with Lane Kiffin. There's no answer for Trinidad Chambers. If there was Kirby, smart and Georgia would have had it. And they got to face them twice last year and they had no answer for them. So I'll do respect to Blake Baker. We were talking to him the day before the Clemson game in the weight room and he laid out everything they were about to do. Player for player match up for match up. He laid out everything they were about to do to Clemson and they did it. It was like spoilers to a movie and we were standing there on the side and going, "Yep, there it is." There he is. There's that match up. I don't know. I'd love to have Blake Baker on the show. We can call him. I don't think he's answering right now. What's your answer for Trinidad Chambers? What's your answer for like Doos Alexander? What's your answer for Kiwan Lacey? What's your answer? Do you think you've really got the dudes up front? Young guys. Really talented guys. But young guys, that's where they're about to be tested. And I trust Ole Miss' Ground Game, more than LSU in this game, and if everyone wants to look back at the Clemson game in week one, as the mantle you're going to hang your head on, don't you have to look at week two, like if you're going to be so supremely confident after the Clemson game, don't you have to look at that offensive line giving up five sacks and 11 tackles for loss last year or last week rather? Don't you have to look at three intersections? So that balance is out in my mind. And what it equates to is I've still got some questions. And if I'm even in my mind, I'm going with home team and desperation mode, so I'll take Ole Miss plus three and a half, I'm going to put three units on it. Three units. Three units. I think if you put any other jersey or logo on Ole Miss this week, I'd be more uncomfortable about LSU, but Lane Kiffin is the Joker of College Football, and the Joker doesn't get up for petty crime, he gets up to turn civilizations against themselves, and this is the perfect seat for Lane Kiffin to me. And we talked about how he's saying all the pressures on them. He pat himself on the back about how many games they won last year, and all the pressures on Ole Miss to win this game. And there's a heightened sense of security when it comes to Oxford, all the things. It plays into Lane Kiffin's mindset, the way he wants to operate. I agree with you with the offensive line, the offensive line on LSU has to play a lot better for them to be successful. Lane Kiffin's offense is a run first offense. You have to establish the run in order for the passing to be successful in order for him to put up as many points as he usually does. I did look at the second game of Ole Miss in Charlotte, and what I saw was Charlotte outrushed Ole Miss. When Ole Miss's team, the strength of their defense is supposed to be the front seven, specifically the interior of their defensive line. So I see a matchup that early in the year, I would have said that Ole Miss has a match of edge on. Now, it's like, well, not so much because they do LSU just have a good tackle. There's some question marks in the interior. So I think they're going to be able to run the ball. I've already talked about Sam Levin as my hyzen one guy. Three interceptions against Law Tech is nothing that you can really go and kind of be like, well, it doesn't matter. Except for the fact that it doesn't matter, and you said it last week, like neither one of those teams walked into Charlotte at Louisiana Tech and thought, oh, we're going to scout this game. They walked in there as no team should ever do in football and just put the uniform on and won the game. They went through the motions. I bet you there was more scouting and practice for both LSU and Ole Miss on each other than the war against Charlotte at Louisiana Tech. The thing that can get LSU in a trouble is Sam Levin trying to play hero ball. He doesn't need to play hero ball, and I think that's where the run game with Dylan Jones that Wisconsin transfer really comes in. He is a bright spot for them, not only through training camp, but the first couple of weeks. I just think there's the edges. Was it Princewell and Ross, the Tennessee transfer for LSU against Trinidad Chambers, getting to the quarterbacks and not going to be a problem? Ole Miss is offensive line is not great, Sam Levin. Trinidad is an elite talent. He's a special one-of-one type cat, but the speed that LSU has, they're going to be able, they're going to have an answer for Duke Alexander. They're going to have an answer for a cage rush with a guy to spy, probably weeks or an athlete they put out there just to follow them around. Any of those backers, they all got speedy. They all can run. Trayda is green anytime he's on the field. You have Miss match, regardless of who you put on him. When he walk his junior, they have all these sound bites from Ole Miss guys, and I don't have a relationship with Lane Kiffin. Now we cool, it's all good, no bad blood, but X, Y and Z, I don't mess with him. There's other guys that transferred, that came from Ole Miss to LSU that probably feel the same as that way that want to make Ole Miss feel some type of way. This is a game I saw just like with Clemson, where they're going for two. We see Lane Kiffin, he's shooting hoops again, and they're up double digits in the fourth quarter of this game. I like LSU a lot. I'm not going to pick LSU to win the SEC and Sam Levitt to win the Heisman, only to get to week three and turn my back on them now. I love LSU. I'm going to go four units, three and a half, minus three and a half. I like LSU a lot. I think they have Trinidad. I think the things that I'm going to-- I think the key one hasn't been, he's rushed for, I think, like, 30 less yards per game so far in the first two weeks. Their offensive line is a massive question mark, especially at the right tackle position, but the interior, they're not getting a whole lot of push. It's about 2.5 seconds, like, it's a different breed of animal in the back end. It's going to be able to cover guys faster. So Trinidad's going to do what he does best. He's going to run around a lot, but I just like athletes. I like the athletes on the other side of the ball, when things start to break down. The things that I like to keep an eye on, like, watching the film and the interior of the offensive line for LSUs, 52 that left guard, like, he was getting exposed against Louisiana tech. It'll be interesting to see how they attack that side of the line of scrimmage, and then also offensively with LSU. They don't get to the quarterback very well, like, they're big up front. Like, they got some big boys up front, but I think they might be too big. Like, as far as attacking the perimeter, the depth on the D line, like, again, hitting the perimeter, hitting the wide running game, wide zones, and then also it's like trying to chase around love it, like, he's a dynamic quarterback. He's just got to protect the football. He's the one that could get them in trouble. So to be interesting to kind of watch that game from a schematics standpoint, because LSU does have the favorite Joshua. Let's remember, as we're sitting here next week coming off this game, it's going to be a huge emotional letdown for at least one team, if not both teams, LSU has A&M at home next weekend. Ole Miss has to go to Florida next weekend. So there's no time to get right. There's no time to disappear off the radar and do what Oregon's doing against Portland State this week, just to keep that in mind. Just keep an eye on that. Just monitor that. Just like some of the underdogs next week on the stage, what are you talking about? Could be advantageous. You know, Texas A&M, kind of like that. I think LSU, this is a state, I mean, that isn't the beginning if this was a different logo that Lane Kiffin had no beef with publicly. I could see the talent of Ole Miss handling it, but this is just, this is just Lane Kiffin. I think Chef said it. It's like they always have like a, they give up like Lane Kiffin's two teams, always give up a stinker every year. He kept using the word stinker with me. And I'm like, all right, this is not that. Like this is, all eyes are on Ole Miss. The whole world is talking about this game. And I like, I like the Adrian O'Keyes, I like Lane Kiffin. Should we talk some underdogs? And yeah, I think A&M's a little overrated. I don't think Marcel Reed has played like that well compared to him being in the Heisman conversation. And it's like they played a pretty clean, pretty clean game, like one penalty, no turnovers. And they just, I don't know. They're not like the most exciting team to watch.
