The Hopi Prophecy: The End of the World in Nine Signs
36m 14s
The transcript presents a detailed exploration of the Hopi prophecy, which foretells the end of the world through nine signs tied to human technological and environmental degradation. From railroads and oil spills to the moon landings and a blue star in 2025, each sign corresponds to a major historical development. While some elements, like the blue star and specific technological events, align with real-world occurrences, the narrative also reveals that many signs were retroactively constructed to fit known events, suggesting a blend of spiritual insight and modern storytelling. The core message transcends apocalyptic detail—it is a moral warning about humanity's relationship with technology. The Hopi teach that unchecked technological growth without spiritual balance leads to collapse, while a return to harmony and cooperation ensures survival. A central prophecy involves a sacred tablet with a missing piece; when it is restored, the world ends. Though the full truth of the prophecy is debated, the account highlights a recurring theme: humanity’s choices—between greed and balance—determine the fate of the world. The story ends with a call to action: to remain mindful, grounded, and aligned with natural and moral principles in an age of rapid technological change.

An old Hopi man was walking along a desert highway when a minister pulled over and gave him a ride. The old man told the minister about a prophecy, nine signs, and then the end of the world. The Hopi take the prophecy so seriously, they warn the United Nations, because by the 1990s, eight signs came true. The last sign is the appearance of a new blue star. In 2025, something flew into our solar system. Some called it a comet, some called it a machine. But whatever it was, it looked like a star. But when it came around the sun, that star turned blue. It was the summer of 1958. The old man introduced himself to the minister as White Feather, an elder of the Hopi Bear Clan. "Ah, did you know I'm a coordinated American?" "Really?" "Yep, Chick-a-Sua." Here it comes. "The Chick-a-Sua, I mean you didn't let the husband." As they drove through the heat of the American Southwest, White Feather told the minister that humanity was running out of time. He said the Hopi elders held an ancient prophecy passed down for generations. It was a countdown of nine signs that would appear before the end of the world. Then White Feather started listing them. The first sign was the arrival of white skin men who would take the land and strike their enemies with thunder. When European settlers arrived with guns, the first sign was complete. The second sign was the coming of spinning wheels filled with voices. In the 1800s, over 400,000 settlers rolled west across the plains and covered wagons. The third sign was a strange beast, like a buffalo, but with great long horns that would overrun the country. Within a few decades, settlers slaughtered 30 million buffalo and replace them with millions of long horn cattle. The fourth sign was snakes of iron crossing the land. By 1900, railroads had laid nearly 200,000 miles of steel track across the continent. The fifth sign was a giant spider web criss-crossing a land. It was a web of wires. First, the telegraph, then telephone, then power lines. Today, more than five million miles of wire hang above the United States. But the prophecy could also apply to the entire planet. Every day, we use wires to connect to something called the web. The sixth sign was rivers of stone that make pictures in the sun. Soon, blacktop highways were everywhere. In the desert heat, asphalt creates marajas that shimmer like water. And under the right conditions, a mirage called a thotamorgana bends light through the air and makes it look like an entire city is floating in the sky. White feather listed these signs in 1958. The first six had already come true, but he said the seventh sign would be coming soon and he was right. There's the guy you are right now and there's the guy you know you could be. By 1958, six of the Hopi's nine signs of the apocalypse had come true. The seventh would happen just a few years later. The seventh sign was the sea turning black, and many living things dying because of it. While 1967, a super tanker ruptured off the eyes of skilly, dumping 35 million gallons of oil into the ocean. 15,000 birds died from that spill. In 1978, there was another spill off France, 68 million gallons. In 1979, two separate spills dumped over 230 million gallons of oil into the ocean. Just counting major oil spills since 1967, over 1.3 billion gallons of oil has polluted the ocean. Nobody knows how many animals were killed, but estimates are over 500,000 birds, 4,500 marine animals like seals and dolphins, thousands of sea turtles, millions of fish, and billions of mollusks, crabs and other microcrustations. The eighth sign was young people with long hair, trying to learn the ancient Hopi ways from tribal elders. In the 1960s, the counterculture movement exploded. Thousands of long-haired hippies drove into the Hopi villages in Arizona looking for a spiritual wisdom. So many camped on Hopi land that the tribal council banned them from the reservation. By the end of 1968, only one sign remained. So the Hopi waited and hoped. But the following year, another Hopi warning came true. The Hopi elders warned that man must never go to the moon and bring pieces of it back to earth. Taking rocks from the moon, even the smallest rocks, would disrespect their creator and break the earth's natural balance. This would trigger earthquakes and violent weather. In July 1969, Apollo astronauts landed on the moon. And across six missions, they brought 842 pounds of moon rock back to earth. There have been five times as many severe weather disasters since we went to the moon compared to the years before. As more and more signs came true, the Hopi knew they had to do something. Per centuries, Hopi elders kept their prophecies locked away in underground prayer rooms called Kivas. Some elders wanted to warn the outside world while others insisted they had to stay silent. Under sacred law, they were forbidden to share the warnings with outsiders until a specific weapon fell from the sky, a gourd of ashes that would poison the land. That hadn't happened. Then a Hopi elder reminded the council that this weapon was already used. It was dropped on Japan in 1945. The prophecy called that weapon a gourd of ashes. It said a container full of ashes would fall from the air, boil the oceans, and poison the land so nothing would grow for years. In August 1945, the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Japan. In a twist of evil irony, a lot of the uranium used to build the bombs was dug out of the desert around Hopi land. The gourd of ashes had fallen. The vow of silence was over. A Hopi interpreter, Thomas Bonyacha, was chosen to carry their warning to the House of Micah. That was their name for a great house of glass on the eastern edge of the continent, the United Nations headquarters in New York City. For years, Hopi elders traveled to New York to deliver the message. Every time the United Nations turned them away. Finally in December 1992, the UN agreed to listen. 83-year-old Thomas Bonyacha walked up to the podium inside the United Nations General Assembly Hall, and almost every seat in the giant room was empty. Most diplomats didn't even bother to show up. Officials only gave Thomas 10 minutes at the very end of the day. It's like 1 a.m. and an open mic right after the prof comic and all the guys who do Christopher look at impressions. Thomas sprinkled sacred cornmeal beside the microphone and delivered the warning in the Hopi language. Hopi spiritual leaders had an ancient prophecy that someday world leaders would gather in a great house of Micah to solve the world problems without war. Today you see increasing floods.
more damaging hurricanes, hailstorms, climate changes, and earthquakes as our prophecies said would come. If we humans do not wake up to the warnings, the great purification will come to destroy this world." The handful of delegates in the room clapped politely and walked out. Nobody took them seriously. That night, a massive storm hit New York. Extreme winds tore through the city and four feet of water flooded the streets. The subway was shut down. Cars were under water on the FDR drive. Scuba divers were called in to rescue the drivers and, as if responding to Banyatch's warning, even the UN building flooded. How could an isolated desert tribe in Arizona know about atomic bombs, power grids, moon landings, and a flood at the United Nations? Well, because according to the HOPEY, they've watched humanity destroy itself before three times. So here's a case file almost nobody opens. August 15th, 1971, Sunday night. The Hopi say we are living in the fourth world. The first three worlds were wiped out every time humanity lost its way. In the first world humans and animals lived in harmony and shared their thoughts without conflict. But eventually men grew greedy and turned on each other. The creator knew this world had to go. He spared only the faithful. They were led underground to live with the aunt people who taught them that survival depends on cooperation and sharing. Above ground volcanoes erupted and fire rained down across every corner of the earth. The world burned for a thousand years. But below ground the aunt people shared their food with the humans until they almost start. When the fire stopped the faithful returned to the surface and the second world began. Villages grew into busy trading towns and the world prospered. But as trade grew profitable merchants became obsessed with money and forgot the creator once again. But the creator was watching. He saw the path that mankind chose and decided to start over again. The second world wouldn't end with fire. It would end with ice. Fire then ice. Finish the book George. Two giant twin brothers stood at the North and South Poles holding the planet steady. The creator ordered the twins to let go. The earth tipped off its axis. Mounds crumbled. Oceans spilled across the land and the whole planet froze. The creator told them to let it go and the whole world froze. Disney's lawyers would like it word. Once again the faithful waited at the cataclysm underground with the aunt people until the twins returned to the Poles. The earth stabilized and the ice melted. That began the third world. Hopi Elders carried the lessons from the previous two worlds into this one. And this time people listened. Villages grew into cities and cities became high-tech nations. They built machines that could fly. But that technology made the people arrogant. They felt superior to the aunt people and some believed they were more powerful than the creator. Then the nations went to war and millions died. It was time for the creator to try again. This time the creator sent water. Waves higher than mountains rolled across the condiments and whole nations sank beneath the sea. The creator sealed the faithful inside giant hollow reads until the water receded. When they paddled east toward new land they watched the last islands of their old world sink behind them. The cities and the flying machines were gone buried at the bottom of the ocean. According to the Hopi those three lost worlds aren't just fairy tales. They say the entrance to that underground refuge is still right there in Arizona. Deep inside the Grand Canyon. In April 1909 the Arizona Gazette reported that explorer GE Kincaid and a team from the Smithsonian actually found it. Two thousand feet up a sheer canyon wall. Kincaid entered a massive tunnel cut into solid rock. Inside was an underground city carved with hundreds of rooms, storage vaults filled with seeds, copper tools and strange stone idols. The cavern was big enough to shelter 50,000 people. Soon after the story broke the Smithsonian denied the expedition never happened and the government made that part of the Grand Canyon off limits. I have a whole episode about that if you want to check it out. And across the canyon walls near the Hopi maces, ancient rock carvings show the beings who sheltered humanity down in the dark. They have thin wastes, long limbs and oversized, almond-shaped eyes that look just like modern gray aliens. In the Hopi language the word for ant is Anu and the word for friend is Naki. Put them together and the ant people who came down from the sky, right the same gods as the ancient Samarians on the other side of the planet. You don't think this is a good episode. Researchers also mapped the Hopi villages on the three maces in Arizona. The towns are built in the exact same pattern over Ryan's belt just like the pyramids in Giza. In the 1970s a NASA engineer who helped design the Saturn 5 moon rocket traveled to Arizona. He wanted to ask a Hopi elder about the flying machines of the Third World. The elder told in the civilization was a sunken continent in the Pacific called Kaskara. Their craft were curved metal shields that hummed as they flew. They ran on magnetic power and carried directed energy beams that could vaporize a whole city in a blinding flash light. According to the Hopi those sky beings and their flying shields didn't vanish forever. They're waiting to return when our current world reaches the end. When the survivors came into this world, the fourth world, a guardian spirit gave them a plan for staying in balance. He carved that plan on the sacred stone tablets. One tablet is small about four inches square and made of dark stone. Carved on the front is a figure with no head. And the Hopi leader who betrays the sacred plan agrees to lose his head. Be treated people, lose your head. I put that in a constitution and Congress is empty by Tuesday. And one corner of the stone tablet was broken off. According to the prophecy, the day that missing piece comes back, our world ends. The Hopi have a word for what destroys worlds. Koyani's Katsi. It means life at a balance. Look around. The prophecy says that at the end of the fourth world, Pahana will return from the east
Carrying the missing piece, when he fits that corner back onto the tablet, the great purification will begin. The great purification starts with the end of the fourth world, our world. First, natural disasters like earthquakes and floods, then global conflict. Borers will break out everywhere until there is a final cataclysmic war. Then, humanity will be tested. Those who remain pure will be saved. Those consumed by greed and materialism will die. Outside their oldest village or ivy, the elders carve their warning into prophecy rock, a large sandstone boulder. The carving shows two paths for humanity. One path is in balance with nature, and it's a very long line. The other path warns of technology without spirit. Along that path sits three circles, marking three great shakings of the world. Some think those are the world wars. As the third circle, the line breaks apart, then it just stops. The hopeies still have the sacred tablet. The keeper of the tablet has said the prophecies are playing out like a movie. And our movie ends after the ninth sign when a new blue star appears, and in 2025, it did. Back on the desert highway in 1958, White Feather gave the minister the final warning. "You will hear of a dwelling place in the heavens above the earth that you'll fall with a great crash. It will appear as a blue star. Very soon after this, the ceremonies of my people will cease." White Feather's ninth sign had two parts. A dwelling place in the heavens, falling with a great crash, and the appearance of a blue star. Then in June 2024, NASA paid SpaceX $843 million to build a special spacecraft. Its only job is to grab the International Space Station and crash it into the ocean around 2030. The largest home ever built in space is already scheduled to fall with a great crash. "I'd pay green money to see the property brothers try to fix that one." "Did you know what it was married to Zoya additional?" "I didn't, and I don't care." "It's so weird. I feel like new girls should be aiming high up at now." And what about the blue star? For decades, the hope you watch the sky for a new blue star. In October 2007, they thought it arrived when comet homes exploded near the earth. Its brightness increased a million times. Its glowing cloud was bigger than the sun. But it burned yellow, not blue. Then in July 2025, another object showed up. Astronomers named it "Three Eye Atlas." It was only the third object ever seen entering our solar system from another star. And from the moment telescopes locked onto it, nothing about its behavior looked natural. The object vented pure nickel gas and sped up in ways gravity couldn't explain. Harvard astronomer Avi Loeb warned that Three Eye Atlas could be alien technology. And most comets approached the sun from steep angles above or below the planets. Not Three Eye Atlas. It flew almost flat in the plane of the planets, passing close to Jupiter, Mars, and Venus. "Nah, that proves it was flown by intelligent aliens. They were smart enough to avoid your rays." In October 2025, the object flew behind the sun. This made it invisible telescopes. But when space probes caught it coming back around, it was burning bright blue, as bright as any star. Eight signs have already come true. The dwelling place in the heavens is scheduled to fall, and the blue star is here. An old Hopi Elder on a desert highway lists nine signs before the end of the world. One by one, eight signs come true, from railroads and oil spills to the internet and the atomic bomb. Elders warn the UN, a storm flesmin hadn't, and a 2025 an object from another star rounds the sun burning bright blue. I think that's the whole legend. It's a great one. But how much of it is true? Well, the core Hopi prophecy is completely real, and so are the sacred stone tablets. Outside witnesses have seen and photographed those dark stone tablets for more than a century. And according to the elders, the Hopi are still waiting for that missing corner of the tablet to return. In 2017, Tom Spaniac's son Tommy explained what the elders really meant by their warnings. His father grew up speaking Hopi and learned English from a Bible, which is why he used word prophecy. Tommy said that wasn't really the right word. To the Hopi, it wasn't a fixed calendar or future gadgets. It was a warning passed down through generations about cause and effect, and what happens when humanity falls at a balance. Tom Spaniac's 1992 speech at the United Nations is real too. He really did warn the General Assembly about floods and storms on December 10th, 1992. The next morning, one of the worst storms in New York history slammed into the city, flooding highways and shutting down the subways. Now there's no official record that the UN building itself flooded that detail came from a note attached to copies of his speech years later. Still, the timing of that storm was an eerie coincidence. So the ancient warning is real. What about the specific checklist of modern inventions and events? Well, most of those were made to fit after the events already happened. Start with the three destroyed worlds and the flying shields. In 1963, writer Frank Waters published a bestseller about the Hopi. Waters worked with a Hopi spokesperson who took genuine travel stories about past world cycles and filtered them through 1960's sci-fi language, coining phrases like flying shields. When the book came out, the UFO and New Age movements ran wild with it. Later historian Armin Gertz tracked every recorded Hopi prophecy back to the 1830's. He found that specific predictions about cobwebs of wire, the atomic bomb, and landing on the moon only showed up at recorded speeches after those technologies already existed. The same goes for White Feather and his list of nine signs from 1958. Nobody's ever found the minister who supposedly picked up White Feather on that desert highway. "You got a jerk, there's a highway, cool wind in my fins, fresh smell of colitas, and something rhymes with fins." Do you mind? "I'm sorry, it was too easy, yeah, go ahead." And there is no traditional Hopi record of the nine signs. That checklist didn't appear in print until 1980 in a New Age book about Earth Changes. And by 1980, the first eight signs were already history, from railroads and highways to oil spills and hibis. After that, the internet added its own layers. In the Hopi language, the ant people are called Anu Sena, not Anu Nakki. A writer attacked the Sumerian ending onto the word in 2006 to manufacture an ancient alien connection. And while the interstellar object throughout Atlas really did turn bright blue near the sun in 2025, NASA confirmed it's a natural comet. When solar heat faked the ice, it lit up carbon gas that glows blue, just like a gas stove. Without that checklist, the blue comet isn't a Doomsday content, it's just cool astronomy. But the Hopi didn't need to predict railroads, the internet, or space stations before they were built. That's not what makes their warning real. They weren't saying avoid technology. They were warning against developing technology that outruns the human spirit. Think about AI. AI is so powerful that we don't completely understand it. It's outrunning us. AI has no soul, no conscience, no wisdom. It only knows what we teach it. It's a mirror of our spirit. We're teaching AI about greed, division, and more. We should be teaching AI honesty, curiosity, and restraint. AI can either be the greatest invention of mankind or the end of it. Two paths. The Hopi have spent 100 years warning us about the two paths. One of peace and enlightenment that continues forever. The other path worships technology and money. That path is chaotic and short. Which paths do you think we're on? Thank you so much for hanging out with me today. My name is AJ. That's Hecklefish. Remember, be pure, stay balanced, and never let a comet near your ears.
FAQs
The Hopi prophecy outlines nine signs that would precede the end of the world. Eight have come true, including railroads, oil spills, the internet, atomic bombs, moon landings, a blackened sea, long-haired youth, and a new blue star. The ninth sign, a blue star in the sky, was observed in 2025.
Yes, in 2025, an object known as 'Three Eye Atlas' entered our solar system and turned bright blue as it passed near the sun. NASA later confirmed it was a natural comet, not an alien object, with its blue glow caused by solar heating releasing carbon gas.
Yes, in December 1992, Hopi elder Thomas Bonyacha delivered a warning to the UN about flooding and storms. The next morning, one of the worst storms in New York history hit, flooding streets and subways—though the UN building's flooding was noted in a later copy of his speech, not in official records.
The prophecy states that when humanity loses balance with nature and becomes obsessed with technology and greed, a great purification will begin. This includes natural disasters, global conflict, and a final cataclysm, after which only the pure will survive.
Yes, the Hopi sacred stone tablets are real and have been photographed and documented by outside witnesses for over a century. The tablets contain warnings about balance and the consequences of losing spiritual connection with nature.
The missing corner represents a critical piece of the sacred plan. When it returns and fits back onto the tablet, it signals the end of the fourth world and the beginning of a great purification. The prophecy says this will happen when Pahana returns with the piece.
