The first episode of the Journey to Self-Discovery Podcast, hosted by Moses Balfourwah, sets the stage for exploring personal growth and self-awareness. The host opens with a provocative metaphor: just as babies must eventually stop breastfeeding to grow, people must leave behind outdated mindsets and behaviors to mature. He argues that many individuals remain stuck in "baby" stages, chasing comfort and avoiding the challenges of growth, which leads to unfulfilled lives. To illustrate this, he shares two powerful stories. The first is about a man on a ship who only ate crackers he brought, unaware that meals were included in his ticket—this represents people who fail to enjoy life's opportunities due to ignorance or fear. The second story is about a lion cub raised by goats, who forgets his true nature until an older lion shows him his reflection in a pond, helping him realize he is a lion. This mirrors the podcast's mission: to act as a mirror, helping listeners see their true selves and potential. The host emphasizes that self-discovery is about unraveling your physical, mental, social, and emotional self, and seeing yourself with new eyes. He encourages listeners to embrace growth, take risks, and make the most of their time on Earth, since life is transient. The episode concludes with an invitation to join the journey, subscribe, and explore further through his masterclass program, promising that the podcast will help expand what listeners believe is possible.
Welcome to the Journey to Self-Discovery Podcast with Moses Balfourwah. Here, we explore life's toughest questions in the bit to become our best selves and to live purposefully in meaningful lives. Stick around, the Journey starts now. Good day and you are welcome to the first episode of the Journey to Self-Discovery Podcast. Today we are talking about why we are doing a podcast about Self-Discovery and what Self-Discovery really means. I wonder how the world would be if everyone was still feeling on breast milk. The fight of our breast milk, the toll and pain, our mothers would go through, if they were supposed to breastfeed their children, from the day they were born to the day they died. I wonder how people would be taking breast milk at the age of 30 and 50 and 80. And the search for breastfeeding mothers simply because someone has lost their mother. Why do we not drink breast milk to be dying? This is not so because the awareness of growth does not permit everyone to continue feeling on breast milk till they die. Sadly, many lives are still chasing after breast milk and are going through all kinds of challenges and experiences in life, simply because they are not aware of themselves and they are refusing to grow. They are trying to find ways and means to continue feeling on breast milk when they have to realize they are no longer babies. How would you feel like if you were supposed to be in a university by a still engineer high school? How would the feeling be like? How would the feeling be like if you were supposed to be working at a. and you are not working at your home? How is the feeling like if you were supposed to do something with your life and you keep on losing around and just moving around? You cannot just stay at one place or your life. You cannot be at one place or your life. It is simply impossible. The awareness that you are no longer a baby and there is no need for breast milk is not seen or acted on by the baby but by the mother. You see sometimes not all children come to realize that they don't need breast milk. They are different since children. Some children just when they are babies and they see their mother sticking, they are males, they want to join their mother eat. These are poor who discover who begin to observe and watch any in life and begin to try to do the things their mothers do. But sometimes they combine it with breastfeeding and eating what their mother eats. And suddenly, actually, they want to drink only breast milk to God knows when. Often it is the mothers that decide that we can no longer be giving our child breast milk. We must take steps to stop breastfeeding their child. The journey to serve the scary podcast will act as a mother to stop you from feeding on breast milk. By taking you through episodes that will help you embrace new forms of feeding. You cannot stay at one place for a long time. We want to go on a journey, a journey of crut, a journey of discovery who you are. A journey of identifying all that you can become and becoming all that you can be. Sometimes it got read about the story that was interesting. You know in the early 1950s before the cruises became a folk, a poor man put the passage from landing to the United States in order to see his family. On board he stuck to himself and never entered the dining room in the Sasanpur. We are always ourselves. Towards the end of the journey, passengers asked him why he did not eat in the dining room. Oh, I could afford only a ticket for the trip. But I brought a long cheese and crackers to sustain me. He assured them. Say, the food is included in the price of the ticket. The fellow passengers said, "So, this poor passenger could have joined them for dining and enjoyed all the benefit there is to be in their ship. But because of ignorance, he stayed at the corner and mind his own business and did not enjoy the food benefits of being in their ship. And that is what happens to a lot of people in life. They never really enjoyed the food benefits of life. They never really reached their fullest potential. It is so sad that it is said that there is a rich place on it. Because songs that she could have been sung are in the grief. Books that she could have been written are in the grief. Inventions that could have should have come up are all in the grief. Things that people could have become, things that people could have done, they never did them. Because they kept to themselves, they never gave themselves the opportunities to explore. They never took the risk. They were afraid. We don't know who they were afraid of. They were afraid. And all that. And because of that, they never enjoyed the food benefits of their trip of life. This life is a journey. And this life is like a transitional place. Nobody stays here forever. If nobody stays here forever, then it means that you are supposed to make the most out of your stay here on Earth. Sometimes we go out struggling from Casablanca to Accra, but I made a transit to Dubai. And when I was at Dubai, I had about four to five hours in myself. I asked myself, should I just sit down and just wait for the next flight. Then I remember I told parts of the airport. I went to some of the best restaurants to go and take my meal. I went for shopping. And I made the most out of my stay in Dubai within that four to five hours period. I knew that my destination was going to Dubai. My destination was Accra. But I had some time there. So why don't I make the most out of my time at that place? Such as saying people never make the most out of their time here on Earth. They just go through life. They are just waiting for when they die. They do the things that they must need to. You must eat. So you are eating. You must go to school. So you are going to school. You must put on the clothes. So you are putting on the clothes. These are things that are the everyday life thing. You get to the point in telling your life you feel that I must marry. So let me get a beloved and marry. You know something? Why all these challenges? The sad reality is that there is no awareness of who we are. We are more likely to ignore change and thus continue to stick to our own ways of doing things. Because we are not aware of who we are. There is a powerful story about the lion cub who forgot his true identity. You see when he was just a baby his mother was sticking by a hunter. And he was left all alone. Seeing the poor lion cub and having pity on him, a group of goat took him and raised him as one of the our own. As he didn't know any better, the lion cub believed that he was a goat. But in time as he grew, he felt something staring in him. I know that for some of you you often feel something staring in you. But you never follow the leads that you are not just here on earth to just occupy space. You are not a mother. You are here to do something. As he didn't know better, he tried to push his feelings away and continue to live as a goat. But it was not his true nature and the feeling of unease grew within him as time went on. Some of you have been having a great feeling that I can't do this. You can't be the mother Teresa of today. You can't be the her every thought of today. But you keep pushing it. You keep postponing what you can do with your life. You keep giving reasons why. You should not develop yourself now. And that on the east is growing up within you each day. My question is how long will that on the east grow up in you? You know one day a huge lion appeared and the journey to self discovery podcast is a huge lion. And that is appearing in your life right on the hilltop with all his might.
All the goods ran, but the young lion didn't spoof. He was afraid, but at that same time he was curious. He felt the strange sense of knowing and wanted to understand what his feeling was. The old lion approached him and asked him what he was doing with the goods. To which he replied, "I am a goat!" The lion laughed and roared. "You are not a goat! You are a lion!" He took the lion cub to a nearby pond and waited at the water edge until the waves on the pond were absolutely still and all was silent. He told the cub to look into the mirror like reflection of the crystal of the color water. Fest, the young lion saw the old lion's face, then his own. After looking again and again he certainly saw it for the first time and roared. "Yes, I am a lion!" This podcast is going to let you wrong and let you say that, "Yes, I can be all that I want to be and I can be all that I must be."
