The Fantasy Football Draft Questions Everyone Is Asking Before Week 1 (Ep. 2169)

The Fantasy Pros podcast is a live, community-driven fantasy football show hosted by Chris Welsh and Andrew Erickson, featuring real-time audience interaction through its Discord platform. Listeners contribute to discussions on draft strategies, player evaluations, and lineup decisions, making the show highly collaborative and dynamic. A core focus is on in-season sleeper rankings, with hosts updating their top seven sleepers—particularly at wide receiver and running back—based on current projections. One sleeper is highlighted as a viable late-draft pickup even after Week 1, offering value for drafters. The conversation also explores common fantasy strategy debates, such as the stars-and-scrubs versus studs-and-scrubs terminology, which sparks a lively discussion about the Mandela Effect and pop culture misconceptions. Additional segments cover draft builds, trade decisions, and position-specific strategies, including the merits of going wide receiver-heavy in leagues with deep quarterback pools. The hosts emphasize adaptability, suggesting that elite wide receivers and balanced rosters often outperform overreliance on traditional positions. The episode concludes with a call to action for listeners to join the Discord community for real-time engagement and to access exclusive content, including a final update on sleeper rankings. A recurring theme is the importance of flexibility and depth, especially in larger or more complex leagues.

I'm Chris Welsh, and of course, my wonderful, talented co-host, one of the top dogs in the industry, great hair, we're shirt brothers today. It is the one, the only, Andrew Erickson, the Undertaker. Pride of New Orleans. Radio, and Deuce McAllister's new best friend is Erickson, was brought on to talk fantasy with Deuce McAllister. I loved Deuce McAllister. Erickson? Dude, Deuce McAllister was one of my favorite running backs to play as in Madden 2005. Hell yeah. So the fact that I got the opportunity to talk to him every single week on the New Orleans radio is pretty exciting, and he's asking me questions about football. I mean, it's fantasy football, but football, is just kind of, it's like a pinch-me moment, honestly. Wait, it's every single week? Every Thursday. Or excuse me, every Wednesday, 725 Central Time, which is, that's where New Orleans is on Central Time, so 825 Eastern Time. Usually it's right after I finish eating dinner, I'm doing the dishes, cleaning up, and then I do my radio hit. Kind of awesome. That's kind of awesome. Well, congrats, buddy. A little shout out there, Deuce McAllister and Andrew Erickson just chopping it up and hanging out like we're going to chop it up and hang out with you guys. This is the show of the people, for the people, and with the people, because we are hanging out in our Fantasy Pros Discord with a live audience, and you guys are going to dictate what we talk about, and super excited to do so. If you guys want to join the party, you can. Fantasypros.com slash chat. Fantasypros.com slash chat every Thursday at 2 p.m. Eastern. Erickson and I are here. If you're listening on the podcast, come and hang out with us. You also get to hear it a day early, and you get to be a part of the whole thing, and there are podcasts, and there are plenty of other reasons to want to hang out in the Fantasy Pros Discord. We've got Boggs and Fitz, 5 p.m. Eastern. Well, I think it's like this hasn't been updated. I think it's the third Tuesday of every month. They were doing every month in August. 5 p.m. Eastern for Worm and Fitz on the first Tuesday of every month, and then Erickson and I are here every week. But people are talking lineups. They've been doing mock drafts in the end season, and this becomes a really important show because we are here on Thursday afternoons kind of setting you up for those last questions, and so fantasypros.com slash chat, fantasypros.com slash chat. Be a part of the Fantasy Pro Discord community and be a part of our show. Erickson, we've got a full audience. We've got a ton of hands up here, and this is a wide-open one. This could be final draft questions and prep. This could be week one stuff. We just partially finished recording some of the week one episode for ranks on RBs. We're going to do wide receivers here in a little bit. We're in the thick of all of it, so we're open to, whatever you guys got. So let's jump into it. And as a tease, to the end of the episode, we are going to update you for the final time on what our in-season sleepers are going to be. So if you cared at all, Erickson and I rank top seven in all of the world in sleeper rankings last year, the Fantasy Pros world of, you know, everybody that ranked it. And we talked about it last week at the end of the episode. We have made some updates. I've got an update, I think, one at wide receiver, I think two at running back. And I don't know if I've changed quarterback and tight end. I don't know where Erickson's at, but at the end of the episode, we are going to give you what our updated sleeper ranks are going into the season. So you can take that into the final drafts. And I'll be honest with you. I think there's at least one guy on mine, at least one that is a pickup. You could pick him up even after week one that isn't getting drafted. So you guys let me know. We'll see. And let's kick it off with the first person. This is Kilo. Kilo, come on down and tell us what you think. Tell us what you got, man. Extra point. Will it be good? We do have the first down, second down. Kilo looks like he is struggling on first down. Going once, going twice and sold. Kilo, you can re-raise your hand and come back up for second down. But Cornwallis, I know we can always count on Cornwallis as I set myself up there. Cornwallis. Oh, there you go. Cornwallis. What's up, brother? Hey, what's up? So last week we talked auction stars and scrubs. I'm admittedly, not a stars and scrubs guy, but I ended up in a stars and scrubs build. So I kind of wanted to get your guys' take on it. Basically, CD Lamb, I'm not talking pick equivalent because like the money doesn't really mean anything to most people. But like CD Lamb at pick eight, Chase Brown pick 12, Gentee 18, Garrett Wilson at 36, Travion Henderson at 84, Rico Dattle at 98. Then, and I didn't really pick again to like pick 125 and it was Myers, Lloyd, Trey Tucker, Jacoby Lane, Keyshawn Booty. Okay, so you're gonna have to, it's hard to like mentally. So this was your auction. Give me the top players, the studs that you went with again. Just give me the studs. Lamb, Brown, Gentee, Garrett Wilson. Okay, cool. I just did a, I think I mentioned this, Pentathlon. Derek Van Riper runs it. We did an auction. It's actually funny. It's the most, because DVR, there's a lot of baseball people that are in there. What's the most baseball thing you can do to fantasy football? Make it a Roto football league. And that's what it is. It actually, it's kind of gross if we're being honest. But it's a Roto league that, and it's five different events, by the way. We have to do DFS. We have to do pick them. We have a best ball. But this specific one was an auction, super flex, two tight end Roto one. And Bogman and I went studs and scrubs and our studs and scrubs were May Lawrence for the super flex. And then we went Amonra, Drake, London and Christian McCaffrey. So, and I budgeted there. So I kind of like what you did. You got, I really think you want to go with a high end wide receivers. Give me like a couple of the, the scrubs that you picked up on that team as well. So these guys aren't quite scrubs, but like Travion Henderson and Rico Dattel is my RB threes and fours, but they were, you know, well outside the top 50. Yeah. At the bottom, it's Jacoby Myers, Marshawn Lloyd, Trey Tucker, Jacoby Lane, and Keishon Doody. Okay. So you just want us to grade out, your auction. Just kind of get your guys' thoughts on like stars and scrubs. Like, is this a build you'd be comfortable with? That kind of stuff. Yeah, I think so. That's kind of how ours looks. We're, we're pretty disgusting in, on our scrubs and on our bench, like our running backs kind of stink in the studs and scrubs. I think we got like Monongai is our third RB Emmett Johnson. You know, Chris Bell is someone we took at the end. Like I, we're the truest sense of studs and scrubs, but that's a price you got to pay. I think you did pretty good. You're not quite, you're not quite in the territory. I think me and Bogman were, I think you've got a little bit more balanced though. You are a roster in Jacoby Lane. Erickson, what do you think about a studs and scrubs auction build and how, and some of the names that he put on it? At least from my perspective, it doesn't really seem like a stars and scrubs kind of team. It seems like it's pretty balanced to be honest. Yeah. And maybe I'm wrong there. I mean, make it two study wide receivers. Well, the money that you spend in the auction obviously dictates the definition of, of stars and scrubs. But when you're just like, if you're just like, list it off that roster and not had prefaced it with, this is a stars and scrubs team. I'd be like, it's a good team for an auction. I'm not like blown away by the top heaviness of it, but I'm also not blown away by like, oh man, because I've seen to your point, real stars and scrubs where the scrubs are really bad. Why do you keep saying stars and scrubs? Is that like your term for it? What is it? Studs and scrubs. What is it? Yeah. No, I, well, that's okay. I just thought it was like, it's studs and scrubs. You're saying stars and scrubs. I've literally never heard that before. Totally makes sense. But I thought you were like, you were really hitting at home. Like you wanted to correct me by saying stars and scrubs. I mean, stars and scrubs is, there's literally an article on fantasy pros called stars and scrubs. I always called it. So am I the weirdo? Okay. Now we got to vote everybody in the chat. Is it stars and scrubs or studs and scrubs? And if you're listening on the podcast, both of them work. No, it's a studs and scrubs. Usually first two stars and scrubs or studs and duds. No, no, I I'm losing my mind. I'm going to go crazy. If you're, if you're listening on the podcast, like on, on Spotify, they let you make comments. Oh my God. Studs and scrubs sounds better. I'm, I'm living in a crazy world. See people. So it's mixed. No, it's not mixed. Everyone's on your side right now. McTunda is saying that is not a Welsh. It has always been studs and scrubs to me. I've never heard of stars in scrubs. That doesn't even like go off the tongue properly. What's happening here? Is anybody on my side? Team studs said that studs and scrubs sounds better, but not that it's correct. Studs. Yeah, it does sound studs and scrubs. It, it, the alliteration sounds better. Okay. I just need to know everyone that's hanging here live. You can vote, but if you're listening on the podcast, please, we need to, I need to find out, is it studs and scrubs or stars and scrubs? Total appreciation for you doing it, but you said it so many times. I was like, what's happening here? We need to know. Are you stars or team studs? But going back to your main point, you probably wouldn't have known, whatever you call it that this actually was you're kind of right because like my version of it by the way like when you hear drake may lawrence in a super flex christian mccaffrey amon or saint brown in london that's the truest sense of the studs um or the stars and then having i had jalen coker we have to start at our flex spot like that's that's what that ends up looking like you know what i mean yeah we can't get over this either uh what did the nose do you said this is a mandela effect situation the universes are collapsing for welsh it's a hundred percent the stars doesn't rhyme like brick said i i this might be mandela effect but like crazy world i'm experiencing where those first couple people are with you who cares if it rhymes it does because it's the whole point that's like well it's not the whole point but that's like that's why it was studs and scrubs this is crazy to me i'm not like so is it is it uh berenstein bears or berenstain bears it's berenstein yeah is it that's oh my god we can get into that later oh my god my brains are frying this is the best episode we've ever done we're gonna get so many comments it's gonna be so many we're gonna get like a thing from our bosses hey guys just want to let you know you guys really got a lot of comments on the podcast this is exciting and we're like well it's all because of berenstein bear and stars and scrubs berenstain bears what yeah you didn't know that it's not berenstain yes it is look it up it's s-t-a-i-n not e-i-n oh my god this is a bad way to go into the season berenstain i've never heard that that's how it's spelled wait until he finds out i never had a monocle oh my god i'm gonna log off real quick all right we should probably get back to the we will get back to i mean i feel like the chat has turned on me like i'm just an idiot then so apologies for my stupidity of berenstain and stars and scrubs but very good question uh there yeah i think it's it was like a solidish team i don't think it was as uh study as possible but that was a fun conversation i'm excited to see blowing my mind please stop by the way don't pull another thing out they're gonna be like in fact it's it is tomato everyone says it's not actually tomato you're gonna just you're gonna kill me rest of this episode mctown you know what here's mctunda i need someone on my side well actually mctunda was going against me mctunda put a well mctunda was in a draft last night with me and he uh was making a lot of good picks that i did not appreciate i don't know why i can't get oh and kilo i'll get you back up here in a second i accidentally clicked mctunda for some reason that was taken forever mctunda that's not a welshism are you there this is a mandela effect oh there we go i'm here now there you go that's not a well it's start studs and scrubs it's not a welshism it's close enough do you don't have many football welshisms to be fair yeah well i'm just dumb it's just it doesn't have to be sports specific it's just idiocy but do you say stars and scrubs i do say stars and scrubs oh my god do you say berenstain bear no i grew up berenstein bears i only learned about the berenstein bears like six months ago that oh you learned about it because it's a real thing yes that is a very popularized mandela effect where everyone remembers it as berenstain bears but when you actually go back and look it's berenstain bears yeah you meant the opposite but i know what you meant all right mctunda sorry i'll i'll get us off of that my brain is fried well i did take some pics from erickson but he also stole algeor from me in the ninth and i'm still not happy about that yeah that's a that's definitely an erickson pick uh what do you got for us though um if you're staring down the barrel and it's either pitman or dk who are you taking in a full ppr league that's a good question erickson what do you think thank you i've been on the pitman bandwagon for a majority of the off season but now that i've kind of seen more about how pitman has missed so much time with his injury and that he's kind of behind the eight ball i think that metcalf is going to probably open the year as the more productive wide receiver and i think that the upside case for both guys was middling at best so i'm actually going to shift metcalf ahead of michael pitman jr acknowledging pitman could probably have a surge later in the season and maybe overtake dk metcalf as the number one target but out of the gates i think it's going to be metcalf and i think that's what i'd rather invest in especially if i'm going to draft any of the guys that are going to be in the middle of the season stealer's wide receiver i think that pitman if he starts out slow he's going to be the first guy you cut from your team uh i am i'm good with i think metcalf is the upside play i think um i think younger yeah yeah pitman's just the balance by the way i just typed in uh popular mandela effect number four the berenstein bears didn't exist they didn't even exist because it's i have the books what do you mean they didn't exist well that's what i have the book no but to your point it is not berenstein it is berenstein that is wild also curious george apparently uh didn't have a tail so that's a popular manda we're we're going to be going through this the rest of the show i don't care uh i will i will sprinkle in these mandela effects to the rest of the episode because these are now fascinating maybe not all 40 but some of them all right kilo sorry man uh what do you got can you hear me yeah we got you dude hey so i'm in a keeper league and i kept chase brown in the fourth round the seventh pick in a 10 team league ppr three flex i'm trying to figure out how i should go about my first three rounds who would you guys target in those first three rounds okay so you have chase brown and then i'm sorry what pick did you say seven yes okay so you have who else is being who else is being kept yeah good point is it heavy receiver running back for a first three round type of guys jonathan taylor's gone uh jameer gives is gone jsn is gone um giovante williams is gone uh and that should be so your guy is kind of the lowest of the keepers and derrick henry's mom okay so maybe derrick henry's the lowest okay okay so i would say they kept him in the first oh okay okay okay okay so i would say so bijan chase nakua so that was one two three saint brown he said was being kept right i think so yeah okay so he's gone cook is gone he already said jt's gone he said jsn is gone so now we're in the territory of guys he could pick so among running backs it looks like it's walker a chan aj brown or a wide receiver hampton barkley so i mean there's a lot of good running backs here i think maybe you hit one of these other tier two running backs really get your stable and then just pound receiver because you have three flex spots so you can just fill it with a bunch of high upside wide receivers that's probably my approach especially a 10 team league where it's easy to get tight end so i don't know do you do cosign on that welsh what do you think um i mean i guess i'm kind of bpa in that standpoint i don't have a pro it sounded like you might have also been throwing out that there's um there's like round effects on some of these so that might play a role in like if you didn't have a second round pick and you took a running back and then you get a lower end wide receiver i'm just kind of bpa on that like i was gonna ask you if the decision is hampton or london and you've already kept brown which which one would you want okay chicken nugget fans i've got huge news the new burger king chicken nuggets just dropped and they are streaming music we're streaming moments everyone wants to be here add us to your entertainment lineup now and download the number one app for radio the free i heart radio app i heart radio hampton hampton okay so you would want to go the running back yeah i think if one of the like top 10 running backs are out there i would want to go the running back yeah i think if one of the like top 10 running backs are out there that's what i would want to do but like you know if an amonra or justin jefferson was out there i would lean there i think it gets tricky when it's like, here's Pickens and here's the running back. I probably lean the running back, dude. We did the Tags League. Erickson and I both did. Mike Tagliere League, in honor of him, that's our championship league here at Fantasy Pros. It's a 16-team monster. Only three people from the content league, Fantasy Pros is a big company, by the way, only three of us made it. Me and Erickson are two of those three that made it into the Tags League this year, which we're fighting for the championship. And Wormley, we got picks one, two, and three. Erickson got the top pick, easiest pick of all time. He takes, I'm sorry, what'd you take? Gibbs, right? Yeah, okay. For some reason, I thought you took Bijan for a second. Bijan goes two. I'm sitting there going, I know it's 16-team. Maybe I should take the running back. Nah, we're going to go with Chase. Proceeds to be the biggest run of running backs I've ever seen in my life. Life happen. So much so, in a 16-team league, it was like Trey McBride fell back to the second round. So I ended up going McBride, and then I was forced into, in the third round, having to take Bucky Irving. And I kind of regret it a little bit. So what I'm getting at, obviously it doesn't sound like this is a 16-team league, but if you're in a position where you are worried that people are really pressing running back, if you can get the elite running backs, there is really great value in doing that because that mid-tier wide receiver, that teens range of wide receiver, is so good. Like Buka, Tedaroa, Waddle. Like, I love that. I even love, then you get into the mid-20s, Parker Washington, Mike Evans. Like, I just, I probably do want to build the running back, so I'm with you with that. So I probably need to close this, by the way, this Mandela effect. I am absolutely getting, I am getting completely thrown into multiple directions when I'm reading some of these that are insane. Kylo did also ask which running back, so the order I have after, JT is Walker, Chase Brown, HN. So those three guys, you know, I order. Okay, perfect. Yeah, a lot of these, by the way, I'll stop with Mandela effects, but there's like, this guy didn't have a tail or Pikachu did not have like a line on his tail or the hyphen in Kit Kat. So those are the fun ones, but you already broke my brain. Catalyst. What's up, Catalyst? Hi, guys. Thanks for having me on the show. Thanks, dude. Yeah. So I'm going into my Super 2D, team of trying to like win. The only issue I have, maybe it's just with the quarterback browser. So I posted in the chat. My concern is that like right now, my starters are May and Rogers and I have been dozed on the bench, but like, you know, Raiders side just to sit him. There's some possibility he could play in November just so that way, like they dip his feet. But I wanted to know if there's any other moves I would have to make in order to try to make my win now move now. Is this, you said this is super flex? Uh, yes, 12 teams, super flex, tight end, premium. Oh, tight. I was about to say, I'm like, is this too tight in or tight in premium? Cause he's got Warren and fan in at tight end. Chase and scat and tootin and price as the running backs. JSN, Ted Pickens, like book over sick wide receivers, may Rogers, Brissette and Mendoza, uh, and no picks coming into last year. So that's kind of the structure of the team. What do you, what do you think you're Erickson? I'm not really concerned about quarterback. I think that between having Brissette. For extended part of the season, you have Rogers for the beginning of the season. So even if those guys end up not starting games later on in the year, that's when you'll see Mendoza in the lineup. So I'm not really concerned about quarterback. You have Drake may as your hero QB, and you have a hodgepodge of guys that you can make by or get by with those three players. I think that you're fine, actually probably more concerned about your running backs. I think it's probably my biggest push point because price, you can see his value decrease as sharp. When it comes back. So that's a concern too. And I think ultimately he's going to break through as the boning back. You want on this team? Scataboo seems like Movery boomer bust when it comes to the giant offense guy this year. I don't know what you can sell him for in a dynasty context, because it seems like he's got a very wide range of outcomes in terms of his price. Ultimately, I would probably be on the cell just based on the hype for Scataboo. I think he's going to be on the cell this year. That's the type of running back you could package. I mean, does Pickens alone get it done? And would you do something like that to shore up the RB spot? I think, even if it's not those exact players, I think that's the right mindset, is you package Skadaboo to another team to upgrade running back, and you give them whatever receiver they want, knowing that you can get a better running back in return. I know a running back that I've really liked buying in Dynasty is Javante Williams, because he's 26 years old. He just signed a new contract, and he's going to be on the cell this year. He just signed a new contract with the Dallas Cowboys, and his Dynasty value price is still very palatable. So that might be a move that you could make where you send Skadaboo and Pickens for Javante and something else. Maybe that could work as an option, or aim higher for a different running back, Brees Hall. Again, he's still young. He's on the Jets, which sucks, but he's also good. So that also means you can probably get him at a decent bargain, or Skadaboo and Fannin as well, because you have Tyler Warren. So you trade a tight end, and on the Browns, maybe that's another option too. But Skadaboo plus something to upgrade running back, I think is probably the main message. And then you having Mendoza for this, I would request you change your team name to the Mendoza Effect, if you could do that in honor of this episode, please. Just a little request from me. All right, next up, ReallyHim. What's up, dude? What's up, fellas? Can you hear me? Yeah, we got you good, man. All righty. I am in a 12-team Superflex League. I thought I drafted an IR player. Turns out I did not. So now I need to make a two-for-one. Do you think it's a complete overpay to trade Jordan Addison and Kenny Gainwell for Ashton Chinty, if I can get him? Say it again, Addison and who? Kenneth Gainwell. No, that is a great deal, if you can do that. Who is he getting? Ashton Chinty. Oh, my God. Yeah, sorry. I don't know why my brain couldn't process that. Yeah, 100%. Yeah, do that all day long. By the way. What other running back targets could I look at? Ashton Chinty, none, because you're not going to get a better running back for those two guys than Chinty. Yeah, there's no other better deals you'll get than for those two guys. So if you have that deal, take it. By the way, is your avatar Mike McDaniels with a tattoo over his head? Yeah, it says Chargers on his forehead. Okay, all right. I like that. Let's go. Hold up, baby. Post Malone or something in there. That's hilarious. All right, good one. Chinzer. Come on. Come down. I've got my homework completed and ready to turn in. Excellent. Then come up to the board and present to the class, please. All right, this is the 14 team where we went three wide receivers to start. So I put it in the chat. This is the mock, right? Or is this like, this is the real thing? No, this was the draft. This is the actual draft. Okay, let's go. You want me to read it off? All right. Sure, go ahead. The wide receiver. You got ridiculous. You got Puka, Neighbors, Flowers, and a Watson. So what is the rest of this going to look like? At quarterback, you got Goff and Malik. So you went really late. Running backs, you got Dave Montgomery, Ramondre, Bill, Jordan Mason, and Samson. And at tight end, you got Kraft and Chigakonkwo. So. Which Davis is that? Is that Isaiah Davis? No, Ray Davis. Ray Davis, okay. Okay, so you got. I mean, Monty's a little bit. He's a legit starter. You got a. Okay, so you definitely struggled at running back. Your wide receivers are so sick. This is. Did you say this is full PPR? Yep, it is. Okay. I think the thing that stands out, I would be very curious at where you took Kraft, what quarterback or running back was floating out there that I might have sacrificed a little bit better. Like, if I were doing this build, one thing I would have liked is to be, like, higher end on an arm. One RB or higher end, maybe on, like, a top quarterback. I mean, I guess, in theory, you did get a higher tight end, so you did get one of those other positions. But I think, for the most part, like, this is a. It's not a best-case scenario. This is a pretty damn good scenario. You got some really good builds on the running backs and Mason and Bill that could work out for you. If Malik does what a lot of us think he could do, you've got a good combo. I mean, yeah, I would say, like, if I were grading this, I'd want to grade this like a B+. I think I've been giving out a lot of B+. There's not a lot of A's lately, but maybe it should be better. Erickson, what do you think? What do you think about this build, knowing that we went heavy, heavy wide? Wide receivers are awesome, and there's no doubt about that. What do you like about the pieces around it, though? I think it's a good build in terms of you're punching or punting off the running back position, overloading at other spots. so i like it i like the quarterbacks goff and malik willis i think that's a really good combo if you're going late at the position craft has a lot of upside this was 14 right yeah okay so it's good so 14 is always going to be this because this is every roster has a hole in a 14 team league we all know that it's different from like a 12 team or a 10 team where everyone is stacked it's it's always funny how you can always tell oh this must be a multi or a larger league because there's more of a glaring hole so um i mean some of the running backs like i don't like personally i'm like i'm not into dave montgomery i like rashad white over jacory croskey merit i like jordan mason i like dylan samson ray davis is a really good handcuff so directionally i would pick some other running backs but the idea of where you got these running backs in those ranges i think is fine the only other comment i would make and this is something that fits brought up i think on the tailgate show welsh that you guys did earlier this week uh tyler loop might not be like a kicker that you can rely on i might correct me if i'm wrong um so you might need to address that as i have found out from that show and one of the comments on x when i posted my wife's team where we drafted tyler loop and someone said he might not be on the roster and i said oh no what's happening oh no what will you do if you can't have the kicker we have just say hey i'm just saying get ahead of it now so you have don't have a bad kicker in week one agreed and you'll you'll be fine on there if this were a 12 team i would probably be giving this a b minus uh but the context of it being a 14 team i i think this has got to be into the b plus your wide receivers if they just do their job it's going to carry you a whole bunch i i can understand the idea of like maybe some of the pieces of the wide receivers or the running backs aren't like of love i'm a little i'm becoming different about montgomery remandre is cool i just thought you you picked the right next round of guys i'll tell you one guy i would have loved on this team but this is a me thing is jonah coleman like if i'm playing like heavy wide receiver but again that's like a more personal preference like if i would have seen instead of um you know samson or um i guess you don't have any other wide receivers i just would have liked to have seen like a jonah coleman like a guy that has this like crazy upside to get as a starter but i just like i like what you did overall craft is great you did good with the running backs in a 14 team did you what did uh the fantasy pros uh did you do draft assistant and did it spit out a grade no i haven't done that i need to run it through that yeah just think like some extra credit chinser on your your progress report go put it in and let us know what it says we'll do uh on craft for week one are we riding it out and seeing if the snap share comment was legit or would you do chig oh craft just start craft oh chig's got the uh i mean the eagles is it's way tougher so i mean even if he's playing more we don't even know how productive he'll even potentially be yep uh just like if you've got drafts going on i've kind of been mentioning this before you can use draft assistant also after the fact and it can you know give you information about what the spider chart looks like maybe some things you could have done where analysts like it and all you got to do is hook up your team but if you do have a draft coming up this is your psa draft assistance got you covered it'll give you expert recommendations for every pick real-time alerts and i'll even predict which important leagues go and check that out today again fantasypros.com slash free all right stl what's up how's it going guys good man how you doing uh good first of all i can't believe we're talking about the mandela effect and nobody mentioned shazam that's like the most popular one and i refuse to believe that it doesn't exist the wait you mean the shack wasn't shazam no it was a movie uh with sinbad or i guess it wasn't bad sinbad that's right yeah it never exists it never was a thing it does not exist oh yeah because it was the shack one was uh steel i kazam was it cuz it was kazam oh my god yeah and then i thought there was another one and along with every other millennial my age probably that uh thought that was a real thing yeah the sinbad is a real thing yeah it's not it's a real thing it's a real thing really really good one very very good call on that so that that is a crazy one but anyways um so i am in a 12-man uh standard scoring league i had the first overall pick and i picked gibbs um little light on running back and the benches are very shallow um last time i had the first overall pick i picked david johnson and he got hurt obviously and destroyed my season i ended up last place so i may have a little ptsd from that but the long short version of it is should i drop jonah coleman to pick up his handcuff and jacob sailors or should i just roll the dice whose handcuff gibbs's handcuff you mean do we know who that is i was pretty sure that campbell came out and said that sailors would be the guy but the pacheco is still there but he's banged up i don't know i i i think that that's not the move to make i think that he is the guy in the moment right now that they'll give one week of work to him i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know and then they would immediately think okay let's go in a different direction because they could go outside they could bring in they could trade for james connor like there are so many other avenues where i don't like investing in running backs handcuffs that are super fringe that just seems like a super fragile bet i don't know if you agree agree or disagree with me welsh but like i'm just taking jonah coleman he's better couldn't say no against that any harder i get the logic of it i mean i think the same thing because i got the name wrong but i think the same thing kind of exists maybe to a slightly different level but i think the same thing kind of exists maybe to a slightly more degree or larger degree because mccaffrey gets hurt but like i thought it would be jordan james but they just announced it's key on black yeah that that that's the thing like we don't even know i think the last thing shanahan said was i think someone asked him who is your number to running back and he's like we're still figuring it out yeah well it looked like it was jordan james then the depth chart that they just posted said key on black but there's no cell my point to that because we got asked about it in a live stream and i said jordan james but regardless of that if i mccaffrey would go down i think both of those guys would be doing andebo andebo exactly that's the thing so and or they go and get a guy like you're talking about i think it is without question if gibbs were to go down what you said go trade for james connor look for depth in another spot they're bringing in players it's a disaster especially when you're going against a guy like jonah coleman who you know maybe people are getting tired of it because there's you know there's some there's a handful of industry people that believe it i am affirmative about it that i think by mid-season jonah coleman has this job and i want to make that bet and i want to roster him everywhere so i would rather that than like like you know you know who's a handcuff that's real tank bigsby that's what if saquon barkley goes down and tank bigsby gets that job i'm telling you tank bigsby is a top 12 running back in fantasy if it is just him like that's that's the level of like why he's to me one of the most important actual true you could look at blake quorum being like one of that but he gets like real value those are a couple of the guys that like are true handcuffs that i care about not uh you know whoever the hell is doing it for gibbs yeah i mean especially with a player like jacob sailors very unknown commodity basically just being thrust into a new role when there's a chance of pacheco comes back they can make a trade i know they really like sion vaki as well but he's just banged up so i don't think it's worth it to stash a guy that again worst case scenario gibbs has to go down first number one and then we don't even know what this guy is going to be able to do i don't know how much this guy even played so didn't even know his name he didn't before he said it didn't uh but but you know what though it's totally understandable the ptsd of it like when when you get screwed like that like what a member barry you threw at us while dropping a david johnson in there but like that totally happens you're like oh he's in this spot i did this and it blew up in my face like it's totally understandable we're not and and hopefully you don't take it like we're being critical of how we were saying it we're just so affirmatively against it and we're not going to against it but it's totally understandable why you felt that way and it's a great question i'm glad you brought it in here it's a safe space for us to talk about that but no keep jonah coleman and uh you know if after a couple weeks you feel weird about it and waivers i mean also we don't know the other reason behind all of that is like you just never know if um regardless if you were doing the sailor stuff there could be a running back that goes down another running back that goes down and there's a guy sitting on waivers that you're going to want to be aggressive on early in the season yeah you know if anything you want to leave to be honest like you're the david johnson thing is real and the effect it has on you but you're also being realistic where gibbs has to smash and you'll win your fantasy league and if he doesn't you're probably not going to win anyway so yeah unfortunately played out for you in the in the bad way the first time around so i wouldn't let hold that against you i would just lean into gibbs being a monster the next ladine lean thompson 30 touchdown season loading and hopefully you don't get the david johnson run out and brother if gibbs goes down you and like 12 billion other people are gonna you know hate me hating football together he's also mentioning the chat remember they had cream hunting for a visit yeah good point so like that just totally nukes the sailors pick dude i love david johnson living in arizona i'm not a cardinal fan at all i hate on them i think they'll lose every game this year but like i loved watching david johnson but the original david johnson larry centers wait what do we do we officially establish the bird watch thing the first of the falcons or cardinals to win a game in 2026 oh yeah well it's gonna be the falcons we gotta make that a segment on tailgate bird watch i like that yeah yeah have the falcons or cardinals won a game if we could get that kid have you seen that kid that's incredible at bird sounds we just get here like and just like we could have amazing graphics can you do a bird sound what are you doing well we didn't hear anything you were just making faces give me your best bird sound real quick i can't bird sound i don't know it's great i like that that's a bird okay and then how about a turkey like i can do the angels in the outfield thing it's a great bird that's a really great bird this is what happens on this show especially we just get we hang out with people we get loopy and stuff mogli what's up dude hey guys uh i'm in this uh massive 40 team draft and uh we have four we have four 10 team drafts so it's all separate and it seems like the trend has been going heavy rb early but i remember pat fitzmore saying that wide receiver isn't as deep as we think it is with all the two tight end sets coming in and with these bigger leagues it seems like you have to go against what everybody else is doing and when i looked around i'm the only one that has a heavy wide receiver set and i drafted bijon at two spot aj brown fell to me in the second olave in the third i took loveland in the fourth with zay and uh zay flowers and christian watson following that up love it the i have tootin as my rb2 and brooks and henderson backing them up so the analyzer said that if i were to trade bijon back to jamar chase just one spot i would go up about five percent and that just feels wrong but i'd be going so much deeper into that advantage where everybody else has gone the other way so i i kind of want to know how far do i push my advantage there and then if i trade off a couple of the bottom guys say like watson or dubes or and maybe get a middle of the pack running back or do i stick with bijon and just kind of ride that out let's stop for a second um you're okay because it was a very funny ride you took us on you're like a 40-man league and erickson were like i were like what and they're like but it's four 10-man leagues so what is the context of the because you were comparing it against all the others is it like 10 weeks and then everybody goes like just explain that so we have an understanding of how i assume that there's duplicate players right yes there's four of each player and what we'll do is we'll we'll play everybody in our draft and then we play weeks uh 10 11 and 12 against the draft pickers and then we'll play in all the other leagues and then it sets up just like the nfl has it where you have afc with seven playoff teams and it works its way out the same way as the nfl does it and so essentially what he is suggesting is getting to the playoff pools he will have a roster that is different from everyone else's because it's so much wide receiver heavy versus the running back heavier teams and that's what helps separate him so very much a non-duplicate ricky bobby your first your last kind of like a best ball kind of tournament strategy a little bit here where everyone is zigging he is zagging so that all he has to do is get to the final and his roster would just be different so everyone is relying out yeah yes so i like that idea of leaning into that my only question with the bijan versus chase which i'm more open to that conversation can you like who are you not starting then because it's only a 10 team league does this mean like zay flowers is now just like a bench guy or was it three wide receiver and a flex it's three wide receiver and a flex and then it's like a bench guy and then it's like a bench guy and then it's like a bench guy and then you're starting tootin is your one and then your two is what like either travion or jonathan brooks yeah yeah but i also have extra wide receivers to trade for maybe a middle of the pack rb2 somewhere else did you say this is i guess for me it's like if yes full ppr okay i guess for me it's like if you're thinking about then trading for another running back then you should have just kept it back yeah i guess for me it's like if you're you know what i mean does that make sense like i would rather be trading for bijan than an rb2 because rb2 is the most replaceable spot in your lineup yeah and let me throw this at you as well could you take one of those replaceable wide receivers or a watson and then maybe a tootin and upgrade their wide receiver do you get you know what i'm throwing at you like could you take you think your league you could take tootin and watson push up and get um a drake london you know i mean i guess it's 10 man league so people probably value depth less but like could that be an approach where you upgrade a really great wide receiver there and then now you're putting out bijan and being the second running back instead of tootin is now travion or jonathan brooks or do you think that's just not possible in your league probably not the way that they they attacked running back it's they're going to probably hold on to them so i yeah okay well i mean you're asking for a wide receiver in that one because you're trading but you're trading a running back but i kind of get you're saying i i would just i mean i would keep bijan i still like i mean just because you have bijan doesn't mean that your receivers aren't still good right and the fact that he was talking about okay well once i make this trade then i'll trade for a worse running back with with all the wide receivers i have when again making another bird analogy just take the bird in hand with you already have bijan so don't make another trade if you don't have to if you're just going to be looking for a running back anyway so i would stay put and just embrace having bijan as your still loaded up wide receiver across the board so that's that's my approach and full ppr still is great for bijan yeah i mean i think there's also i mean there's a little bit of a value thing and like i understand that the trade analyzer said that but like there's like the structural like value of like one two three and how much more of an advantage they kind of are that i guess what i'm trying to say is i don't think i a hundred percent agree that it's like a five percent more boost or whatever but i think it's a little bit of a value thing and i think it's a little bit of a for getting chase over bijan like i'm not a big fan of zero rb builds like true zero rb i like the hero build here you have this running back that is going to carry you you did a great job at wide receiver i do understand the pivot but maybe the pivot is more important to look at mid-season maybe you try to make that trade a little bit later when you know someone else is losing a wide receiver so you know what i'm saying like if you want to play that pivot game maybe you need to attack that in week three or maybe you need to attack that in week three or maybe you need to attack that in week three or maybe you need to attack that in week three or four um then doing that against bijan because bijan and like i'm taking bijan over chase it's a really interesting strategy question it's a very interesting league totally different take i love the idea of it and i think you're on the right track i think we both agree though that we're running out bijan but i totally get it kind of a cool format we do similar things like that sometimes here at pros in those leagues where you have the all play and you want to have the not the same players and stuff like that that's that's kind of fun that's interesting all right a couple more here we got a couple more people in the queue uh frankie frankie love did i click it properly what's up frankie if you come on down there you go what up you guys hear me yeah we got you man uh yeah sorry i'm out of work and listen to you guys um all good yeah i uh i was wondering um a couple weeks ago i asked you for advice but now i got the picks in uh what place i was going to be at on these two leagues so i'm picked five and a 12 12 man two plex uh and i'm and then in the super flex you're going to be at a 12 man two plex and then you're going to be at a 12 man two plex you guys answered i was now i'm pick eight um i was thinking about i mean the typical yeah you do whatever receiver falls to you in the first uh uh 12 man um uh regular ppr but uh would i be crazy if i uh go for the next best running back and go because i feel like the running backs the way the guys are they're gonna go to back-to-back running back and then unless i might get lucky with a ken walker to drop or i'm gonna be looking at maybe chase brown as my number one running back i'm saying that i don't like them i mean i just i just that'll be my rb1 so you're pretty much having the decision like ken walker slash chase brown or like a justin jefferson yeah yeah maybe or just go to two receivers in that league and if it's best available and then on the third round just hopefully get a giovante williams or something to maybe drop to me and and then just just just play by ears and i don't want to go like you guys were just talking about i don't want to go zero zero rb and at the count on somebody like jonathan brooks or something a be my rb2 or rb possibly uh one by the end of the year i'm trying to get a i still like i like to go out the running backs but i didn't land in that position i landed in five how we chose but to the super flex i'm number eight i was thinking about not even just doing best available like i if i can get like a you know top receiver or if we get a lucky with a running back but people go quarterback heavy um that that was my route with that uh i i was looking doing a lot of mocks and laying a lot of fantasy pros and i noticed that uh you know my teams weren't looking bad with a bow next and baker mayfield i mean i just don't know what your opinion on that either yeah okay so hold on for a second yeah there's a lot there you got to stop for a second yeah the first part i'm now confused i thought you said the normal ppr you were eight and you were thinking about no no i'm five so you want to take a ken walker or something over a wide receiver at five no he he wants to take a i think i understand so he wants to want he's wondering if he's should take a running back like Taylor or Cook instead of a wide receiver or take the receiver and then take chase brown or ken walker in round two okay okay the eight which is what i would do if that's you're gonna take jonathan taylor over or chase i would take those guys first and then take the running back around too okay me too yeah the super flex was picky of a 12 man uh no super flex is 10 man sorry 10 man is a super flex i was picky i was gonna my question was would i be would it be would you recommend to get a top qb or is it okay to punt a little bit and go with like a bow next and bake maple that's my question yeah i would do the latter hundred thousand percent yeah the best player available whether it's chase bijon or gibbs because sometimes those guys fall in the super flex format and you can totally work with those other quarterbacks quarterback is so deep and yeah it's not even a question in the 10 man hundred percent of first two picks i'm gonna go with best positional uh players and you're gonna have awesome dudes and then third fourth round is where i'll start paying attention to what quarterbacks are out there but if there's still two good positional players in a 10 man you can still do it because i could live with a goff and what was the was it chins earlier no no i understand that but like chinser was saying he had like jared goff and uh malik willis i could live with that if i had to if i had amazing positional players it's funny on it but on the new orleans radio hit they asked me why i was so low on tyler shock because i have met like qb 21 and i was very bluntly honest and said i got nothing against it it's just there's a lot of quarterbacks i like this year which is why he just falls getting lost jordan tyson that was the only reason yeah one less weapon but 100 yeah so yeah and then like maybe it's just my fault again my brain i got very lost in the beginning of what he was saying but it ends up looking like he was the the five spot we both agree we're not taking the running back we're taking the great wide receiver that falls there whether it's puka jsn or a monroe one of puka or jsn or one of yeah puka jsna i'm on raw have to be there and i personally would take i'm on raw unless puka falls because i know he sometimes falls but yeah i'm taking whichever wide receivers there and i'm not worrying about the running back in that all right uh let's do a lightning round on these so we can do our sleepers real quick after sully what's up dude hey guys how are you guys good dude what do you got good uh just kind of overall question just um my league switched to an extra flex position this year um so just wanted your guys opinion on kind of like draft strategy i'm guessing kind of like late quarterback um and then kind of just go wide receiver heavy uh what do you think erickson what's the rest of the starting lineup if you can throw it in the chat is it three receivers now two flexes was there already a flex spot that's the only question that i would be uh interested in he's typing in right now just so i understand the full scope of the lineup i think for me the onesie positions stand out less basically when there are more starting spots because you have more ground to fill so two receivers two running backs two flex one tight end one quarterback so kind of essentially like a three wide receiver except it could be a running back i mean i think that it makes you just go you can do best player available i guess i wouldn't prioritize elite tight end as much and definitely would be punting quarterback nosty get these last two and into our sleepers here what's up nosty come on down what's up you don't hear me yeah we got you man cool um so i'm in a uh 12 team keeper league and i just have a couple keeper questions or one keeper question uh it's two keepers um i'm keeping kenneth walker with a third round pick and then i have a decision between igbuka in the fifth or loveland in the tenth paper i'm like loveland and simpson's obvious but then i'm like position scarcity opportunity cost does igbuka in the fifth make sense too i feel like i'm overthinking it with loveland not just being there in the tens but loveland yeah erickson's not letting you overthink it yeah i would i was gonna say igbuka but then the 10 is too much for loveland so the thing is you can probably draft igbuka potentially in the fourth round anyway probably maybe you can't get loveland anywhere near the 10th round yeah yeah no it's loveland that's too good of a deal too good uh jay sparks final one up here what you got dude what's up guys you hear me okay as very much i gotta stop dutying i'm dutying a lot today so what is up my friend awesome um 12 team keeper 12 team full ppr redraft uh trade question um went wide receiver heavy so looking to upgrade my rb2 spot and um basically sacrifice on my tv a little bit but trade is tootin which is currently in the rb2 um from kade tied into and then jayden daniels um for a saquon i'm just not sure how you guys feel about saquon this year you said single quarterback single yep i am i do that deal if you can move move ponies for a horse well daniels and tootin aren't uh little ponies i'll show ponies there i mean daniels i we talked about daniels as a potential landmine so just getting him off the books kind of seems like right sweet i'd rather have barkley than tootin and kincaid is just kincaid's a nothing burger yeah that's what i mean so i think this is easy that's a big upgrade that is and i'm not and i'm not i'm hardly like the saquon barkley guy like i'm lower on him versus consensus but i acknowledge he's probably going to have a year that's better than last year but worse than 2024 and i would rather have that at that price for tootin kincaid and jane daniels okie dokie uh great questions from all of you guys we appreciate it that takes us to the final thing in this show we are doing our final updated sleepers final updated sleepers for the year erickson we did have to make a few changes and there are a few changes on the board so we gave it to you in the last episode who are sleepers? were uh quickly quarterback did you make any change to your sleepers we both had i believe kyler and malik willis no i did not change anything i mean it's i'm like so tempted by like guys like goff and jordan love because it's like if they just throw the ball more you could see with the weapons but the rushing with these two guys is too hard to fade in my opinion and when i look at kyler too his schedule is set up really really well if he comes out decent against the green bay packers you don't have micah parsons he plays the bears in week two so there's a chance where kyler is off to a really really hot start and i mean that's pretty typical of kyler so he's my number one and malik willis because of his rushing is number two let's get tight in out of the way do you make any changes i i joan johnson and dulcich dulcich is my uh two sleeper tight end you make any changes there uh i did not make any changes i have kept those guys in there we do have a question about you over tucker craft this week in week one from french toast them and yeah i would go to one honestly i think that his projection is way safer than tucker craft for week one i'm cool with it but like tucker craft's gonna have two touchdowns in the first week and we're gonna be like oh dang it like he or he plays 50 or he plays 50 of the snaps and guess what that's 50 are all going to be in the red zone and like in the red zone it's gonna be 100 of those 50 snaps will be in the red zone so there's touchdown equity but if it's full ppr like juan johnson's gonna get so i'm cool with it but i'm still tucker craft running back this is where the changes start to happen i don't i think uh i had jonah coleman at number one last time you had him at like two or three and then you were going to move them up to one what is your top four uh sleeper running backs look like now so lloyd it's got to be number one that's goes without saying jonah coleman tank bigsby dylan samson are my four uh say it again you did quick lloyd was one who was two lloyd coleman and bigsby dylan samson okay we have the same top two lloyd does have to go to one just because like if jacobs is out for the season he gets that run i completely agree jonah coleman is still my two because i think jonah coleman can take that job um things kind of open up a little bit you said tank bigsby i really like that i i kind of think tank i don't know barkley goes down this is gonna blow this away so i kind of wish i did put him on here but i got mike washington still like i think mike washington is just gonna get run this year go ahead you're gonna get run this year go ahead i know i think because that's the one guy i struggle to kind of keep off because you have this ashton genti ankle injury thing is it going to go into the season they're talking about ashton genti or mike washington having a role alongside ashton genti but then i think about well who's better tank tank bigsby or mike washington yeah and i completely sure tank bigsby's better i do agree with that i'm pretty sure he's better like so that's ultimately why i opted for bigsby especially because he's the eagles offense and i mean i they were also talking about talks about tank bigsby having some type of standalone role too i know it obviously doesn't hold as much weight as the mike washington hive has been especially with the genti injury but barkley's no spring chicken he's an older running back if he gets banged up i think tank would just be a smash so and i guess i feel like i'm being a little bit different there i would imagine tank's not as super highly ranked in a lot of the sleeper rankings compared to mike washington so kind of like a contrarian approach on what do i win when i win if tank does hit that's a big win for my huge win no quote-unquote sleeper points yeah and then kind of in the same vein my fourth is caleb johnson i don't like having two packers on here put him in there yeah i think i gotta have him in there because like he was running with ones right out the gate if jacobs is out all year lloyd has i mean lloyd's sitting out there just like i'm just happy to be here you know what i mean he's just like i haven't played i just want to be here i'll do anything like caleb johnson might be a guy that gets run so you're the same version of what you just did caleb johnson's kind of my protection because i don't know if he's going to be on a lot of those lists so that's our running back changes let's talk about the wide receiver changes uh did you and what is your wide receiver sleepers look like now we have four i did not make any changes it And I'm just going to go down with the ship of Trey Harris, whether it works or not. So he's just he's my guy. See what happens. He's my but that's why he's number four, because he's definitely my light, my least conviction pick, but more of my truth or status for Trey Harris and his Chargers offense. I made one change and it's my bottom one. So I still have my four. I've got Stefan Diggs at one, DeJuan Stribling at two, Debo Samuel at three. But my new change is Chris Bell. I think Chris Bell is going to become the number one in that Dolphins offense. You know, that might still be like wide receiver 40 or something like that at the end of the day. But I think he's going to be littered with targets. That's one of my big sleeper guys this year, and that's going to be my sleeper wide receiver. So those are the changes you make. Do you want to give anybody kicker defense type of stuff? Do you you live in that world? I'm kind of like, well, because the way that the rankings work, you have a certain pool. The Ravens are the top one, and I feel like they're my highest ranked defense. So I feel like I should put them in there just because I think that they are probably going to score the most points. But I don't know. I'm just really intrigued by the Lions and the fact that they're going to play in a bunch of shootouts, and I'm going to give up a lot of points, but I feel like they're going to get a lot of turnovers. I think Hutchinson is going to have a monster season, so I'll just keep the Lions. They'll be bottom five and points allowed, but they'll be top five and turnovers, and that's all that matters for fantasy. You sneaky, sneaky little defensive ranker. All right, there you go. That is everything. Thank you guys for all hanging out with us. Awesome job on everybody in the audience coming up. Great questions. Lots of good theory, fun stuff as well. Yeah. I'm all into the fun for this season. I'm doing some new different things. You don't think I'm doing, Erickson? I'm doing a touchdown survivor pool, which I'm super excited about. This made me think, why do you shake your head like that? You don't like that? Well, no, no. I mean, I'm just saying there's just so many things that you want to do collectively. When the games are on, it's for me, I'm having trouble keeping track of everything. I'm like, I got to do this. I got to do my survivor. I got to do my flex bet. I got to do all of it. I'm like, oh, no, I'm going to run out of time. I like the uniqueness. And it made me think of, I'm forgetting who it was, but the guy that had the 40-man league. Was it Frankie, maybe? The 40-man league is cool. I like unique different things, and I'm kind of digging into some of those this year by I'm doing a touchdown survivor. I'm interested in doing a best ball chopped type of league, elimination league, you know what I'm saying? Like those. I want to do a couple of those to kind of add into the fun, because it's meant to be fun, man. Have some freaking fun with your season. We all take it serious. But you have your big home leagues. Come in and hang out with us. Let us help you out. But also, I'm going to do a couple of those. I'm going to also do some cool, unique different things, and that's got me kind of jammed in with it. And the next time we talk to you, we're going to be talking to you about in-season stuff. We're going to be telling you don't talk about Thursday night football on the next episode, because it'll be next Thursday at 2 p.m. Eastern. Hopefully, you guys listening on the podcast, come and join us. Fantasypros.com slash chat is where you can join the Discord. Be in here about a full day before. Hang out with us. Ask your questions. Ask your start and sit questions for week one, as long as it's not Thursday. And we'll have a bunch of fun with it. And hopefully, you guys enjoyed that. And feel free. Drop your mail. I know Erickson's so excited we stopped talking about it, but it's all I'm going to do as soon as we get off here. I'm going to be actually doing our Fantasy Pros elimination draft that I'm in right now. And by the way, I got Puka. Maybe a little dangerous. I got him at five, but he fell down there. And if he doesn't play the week one, if somehow he were out week one, that would be a big problem. But I'm going to go with Puka. But I'm going to do this, and I'm going to read about Mandela effects. That's all that I want to do. So hopefully, we hear from you guys. We love you guys. Good luck in your final drafts if you got it this weekend. And we will talk to you soon. We'll talk to you next time right here on Fantasy Pros. Extra point is good. Peace out. Summary:

FAQs

Listeners can join the Fantasy Pros Discord community at fantasypros.com/chat, where they can participate in live discussions, ask questions, and influence the show's content. The Discord is especially active during weekly episodes and mock drafts.

The podcast airs every Wednesday at 7:25 p.m. Central Time, which corresponds to 8:25 p.m. Eastern Time, coinciding with the New Orleans radio broadcast schedule.

The debate highlights a common fantasy football strategy where players build rosters with high-value stars and lower-tier 'scrubs' to balance risk and value. The discussion also reveals a 'Mandela effect' — a phenomenon where people recall a term incorrectly (like 'Berenstein bears' instead of 'Berenstain bears').

Fantasy Pros releases updated in-season sleeper rankings at the end of each episode, providing insights into undervalued players who could become impactful picks. These rankings are based on expert analysis and are updated before final drafts.

The podcast suggests overloading on wide receivers and using mid-tier running backs to create a competitive edge. While the running back position is a concern, the strategy works well due to the value of high-upside wide receivers and depth in the receiving corps.

The podcast advises against prioritizing running back trades early in a deep league, especially when wide receivers are available. Instead, it recommends focusing on elite wide receivers and using trade value to upgrade running backs later in the season or when depth is needed.
