The Extra Point | Week 6 Fantasy Football Advice: Start/Sit Calls, Trade Targets & Players to Stash (Ep. 2272)
59m 5s
The podcast blends fantasy football analysis with humor and personal stories, focusing on the impact of injuries and roster changes—especially the absence of Jalen Hertz due to a blood clot—on the Eagles’ offense. Analysts evaluate strategic trade decisions, such as trading for Jeremy Bernard or keeping underperforming backups like Goddard, based on quarterback shifts and short-term matchups. The conversation emphasizes the importance of playing hardball in fantasy trades, particularly when valuing players with injury risks or limited upside. A recurring theme is the value of personal connections and fun, highlighted by karaoke anecdotes and party experiences, which serve as a contrast to the more serious football talk. Audience engagement is strong through real-time questions, Discord discussions, and interactive elements like fantasy trading advice. The show also promotes the Fantasy Pros app as a tool for managing teams efficiently, especially during chaotic schedules or travel. Ultimately, the discussion balances data-driven analysis with human elements, offering insights into player value, team dynamics, and the emotional aspects of fantasy football.
This is an "I Heart" podcast, Guaranteed Human. On Big Lives, we take a single cultural icon. People like Jane Fonda, George Michael, Little Richard. And we pull apart the story behind the image, discovering forgotten interviews that change exactly how we see these giants of our culture. We're here for the messy, the brilliant, the human version of our heroes. I'm Emmanuel Jochi. I'm Kai Wright. And this is Big Lives. Doing a wedding where Christian McCaffrey was did not allow a Christian McCaffrey bet to cash, but you still had a great time though, Erickson. Oh, immaculate time at my sister's wedding, my one of my best friends from college. He got married the next day. He was a lot of driving. Few alcoholic adult bevelies. But other than that, it was a lot of fun. A lot of good food, dancing. I'm a monster on the dance floor. Erickson, I can attest. He's a straight G on the floor. I have videos on my phone. I got videos of Erickson riding a bull. I have videos of Erickson doing multiple spots of karaoke. I got like three different karaoke spots. And from our last New Orleans trip, you were cut in some rugs. You were rocking. Now, you are your party man. You are a man of the party when it is going on. So I can only imagine how fun I am. The uh at my friends wedding on Sunday morning. So his was on the Saturday. Came up to me and I said, okay, congratulations. Like was it was everything you want? He was like, it's perfect. I was like, everything I wanted. And he was like, you're the life of the party man. Just weather. And I was like, that's all I needed to hear. I've done my job. That's one of the groomsman to my job. And I am not. I'm definitely not the life of a party. I'm fun to talk to, but I am in no way the life of the party. But I am an instigator. I am a fun instigator. Like I'm not necessarily the one that's going to be like the fun. But I push the fun. And I push people into the fun. So Eric and I are a great combination. But online you want to hang out with the group of us. That's what you want. Cornwall is asking me in the chat. What's your karaoke song? I'm a rebel yell guy. That is a good shout. For some reason, anytime I drive to weddings as well, I always white wedding will always play on the radio. Whenever I'm going from these weddings, because it knows what's about to go down. For me, my karaoke song, I think you know this well. It's Mr. Brightside. Yeah, yeah. I was about to say. Because you did Mr. Brightside in Vegas and Tennessee. But then-- I do it, everyone. You do it, everywhere. But then when we were in New Orleans, I remember we went into this insane karaoke place. And just Eric's and just be lined it for the karaoke like book to see if Mr. Brightside was there. But then it was too crowded. I have a new submission I want us to do, especially if we ever do an event thing. I'm on a boat. That is what Eric and I are going to be singing. Because we did karaoke that together one time. So that'll be ours. We will do the Lonely Island at some point. But I know some of you guys are having a panic attack right now. It's not just about karaoke and parties and fun. It's about the NFL, by the way. Not only do we have our audience here. We're going to answer questions. We just got breaking news before we jumped into this podcast. It actually happened, I don't know, four minutes after we did the tailgate. Jalen Hertz is going to be inactive for this week's game. We knew there was like some injury going on. But it looks like it's like a blood clot issue. He will not be playing. So my tailgate prediction of the Panthers are going to beat the Eagles. It looks a lot more stupid now. Because I think the Lions have flipped a bit. But no Jalen Hertz this week. Yeah, the betting lines open earlier in the week. Because I do the look ahead show with Worm on Mondays. Those lines where the Panthers were catching like two and a half points, playing on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles. And now it is the Eagles are three point underdogs at home. And it's going to be Tanner McKee. I assume that's under center. Because Andy Dalton got cut from the Eagles after he threw that interception when he came in for one play. So I think I believe that's the current way that the roster is set up. Again, we'll get more news about who he's actually starting by. I believe it's going to be Tanner McKee who the Eagles were really high on at one point. So we'll see. But it's just a tough spot for Philly overall with their offense. They are coming off a back breaking loss to the Jaguars in London. They had no buy week in between. So they had to play internationally. They had to fly back to Philadelphia. And they're going to be welcoming a red hot Carolina Panthers offense that is coming off a buy week. Like we saw this last week with the Colts and Steelers Colts played internationally. They came back no buy week and the Steelers took care of business. And they were coming off extended rest because they had played on the Thursday night before. So the rest advantage is definitely in the Panthers side here. The vibes are with the Panthers side up here. So naturally the Eagles are going to win by 15 points because that's just how this works. I mean, the Eagles are at home. Like that is the one thing that's kind of working in their favor. But I mean, if they start out crappy, those fans, man. Oh, batteries and bricks. Yeah, they're going to buy whatever they can and throw it on the field. So this could again, with the Eagles a lot of time, it feels like when it rains, it pours. And it feels like torrential downpour is going to be happening. Doesn't it feel like this is going to be like a Damian Pierce? Like it's going to be all these nomad players that are going to don't wear like, "Oh, the Panthers are going to be great." It'd be one thing too if you at least had Smith and you had Barclay. Like maybe that would give, but like those guys look like they're not going to play. So like you missing your star three players at the quarterback, running back, receiver position, those guys are all out, right? You'd have to expect like, Jaylen Carter would have to have again another game like he did last week where he was a dominant force for the Eagles defense. But Eagles defense overall has been kind of been overrated this season. So yeah, it's a tough scene for Eagles fans. I got to check on Mike Mayer and see how we're doing. Yeah, I said we were going to move on from it. But now I have to pose this question. And this is great because you guys, if you listen like Spotify, you can leave comments. Which NFL player would you want to do karaoke with? Who do you think is the best to do karaoke? I already have the answer. And I think there's one clear answer. One obviously clear, great answer. Who do you think the best NFL player to do karaoke with is? Currently in the NFL. In the NFL. Okay, because my mind immediately gravitated towards Gronk. But I know he's retired. He would be so. He would definitely be fun because he'd be really bad. But no, current NFL player. He'd be really bad. I don't know. I'm not like this. I must be like missing this game. Yeah, I'm like it's so obvious. Someone put in here, uh, meat slam, putting kid away. That's a great one. That's a really good one. I think kid will be fantastic. Cornwall, I said Keenan Allen is a good singer. But the very first comment from paragraphs here, James Winston. There is zero doubt in my mind that you wouldn't have the biggest banger. But I got to be honest with you. And Andrew Erickson, James Winston, uh, karaoke collab. Is the final pinnacle of what I need in my life? That might be retirement. I need that in my life. If you guys got to get a better pairing, please let me know. I know it's not fantasy talk. But boy, do I get excited about it? If you think of another one Erickson, you can let us know. But James Winston, I think, is the number one. All right, uh, we got an audience. It is waiting. We have held them back here for a little bit. Talking karaoke parties and a little bit of Jalen Hertz. You guys got questions that have nothing to do with Erickson and football, right? All right, perfect. Then let's answer them and let's get our boy. Uh, let's get our boy Nick up here. Nick, what's up, man? Hey guys, uh, appreciate you guys as always. I'm in a shoot over my team. Kind of curious where your thoughts are on like this whole eagle situation. Obviously, like super unknown. I don't know what kind of a quarterback Tanner McKee is. But my context specifically, I had scooped Goddard off of waivers. Uh, he kind of slipped through. And I have three tight ends on the roster. That's obviously a tons. But like with buys and everything I had been planning on flexing Goddard and Johan Johnson as like tight ended flex. I'm curious now given the merciness with Philly. Like, would you drop Goddard for like a Jeremy Bernard who for some reason is still on waivers given the team? Is there anyone else you'd rather drop to maybe make that move? I don't know if you're still confident starting Goddard because I don't know if McKee is going to hyper target him. like our current. quarterback there does, but it's kind of curious what you guys think there. Oh, Nick is an Eagles fan too. Sorry, Nick, I heard the I heard the Philly come out right in that last thing. And then also he said our quarterback. My assumption, by the way, Jeremy Bernard out there is insane. But Erickson, you were going to speak, but my assumption is like always back up quarterback, safety nets, it's checkoffs and guys like Goddard are the safety blanket. I kind of love Goddard in this spot. Yeah, I don't think it like changes it too dramatically. Obviously invites a little bit more ambiguity whenever you change quarterbacks. There's always some chance of variance. But he's still going to see volume in the game. We know that Desmond Dismissed Brian not going to play. No, there's no sake on Barkley. So by default, Alice Carter becomes like the number one read. So I don't think that this really changes. Obviously the offense was already broken, which Alan Hertz and it. So Tanner McKee being the quarterback again, obviously you feel less confident about all these guys and maybe the touch down equity, obviously he goes down a little bit. But I mean, you also have loveling on your roster. So if you want to roll the dice of the leveling with Caleb Williams back, maybe there's more upside there. But I still think Goddard has a floor as a flex play. So yeah, I didn't move him that much in my weekly rank. I mean, I had him higher before, but I still he's still like in tight end. One territory just because he should say double digit target still and it's still tight end. So what Jeremy Bernard though. And he has John Johnson, Colson, Loveland and Goddard. You can't like have the three tight ends. I mean, if you if did he say picked up Goddard, he picked up Goddard. Well, I mean, I mean, could you then then John Johnson? I mean, why don't you just drop Goddard? Like what's my go? But don't you want to start? You don't know how long he, okay? But of the three tight ends, who do you want to start this weekend? Loveland, John Johnson, he's starting, he only has to start one. I know, I know, but I'm saying do you want to start John Johnson over Goddard? Yes, yeah, I mean, against the giants. So then I mean, you want to get them more than from a flex do you want Goddard or Jeremy Bernard? I'm thinking like, I think it's probably pretty close, but given the. Dean for Bernard, also, I'm thinking like long term too, right? Yeah, sure. Dallas Goddard's value is not going to improve because the Montessmith is going to come back. The schedule is really easy for the Eagles upcoming because I mentioned Dallas Goddard as like a buy on the trade show, but that was also on the context that Jalen Hertz was still going to be the quarterback of the team, which is obviously not, not the case here so far. So I mean, do you think someone's going to pick up Goddard after he gets dropped? Maybe here's a side note. He has two defenses. He has one on the bench. You just drop a defense like open up Bernard. It's the Steelers. He has Steelers and Chiefs. Oh, yeah, drop a defense, pick up Bernard. I dropped the Steelers and go get Bernard. And then I mean, you're still in like a little conundrum here. I maybe start Bernard over Goddard, but if Goddard is the safety net, I would, I would pick that. That's a good, it's a great question. I'm glad first one of those around the Eagles. It's kind of, I mean, I think I would, I would add Bernard regardless because he's someone that's going to crew value, I think, so I think I would do that anyway. Well, you said at the right, yeah, like the long term, the long term thing is going to focus because the thing with Goddard is the matchups are good because he's going to have the Cowboys. He's going to have the commanders. Now, it's just a matter of what's the quarterback play like. And I think I agree with you where I don't think we're going to see his volume evaporate with Tan and Ricky to like security blanket. And yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, it might be six catches for 45 yards, but he should still be a touch that touch on equity and stuff. And we also don't know the status of Smith and in Barclays. Yeah, I don't think I don't think I want to, don't drop Goddard. I would say I want to make sure it's, I thought about it, but yeah, I would keep him here. Cornwallis, Cornwallis, you have the nice comment in the comment section of this show on Discord, too. Where you were like pleasant surprise from Bogman and Tara. So thank you for being here and supporting our homies. Oh, yeah, no problem. What up? So we're looking at two questions at tight end, either fire move or strange and TTR. And then at the flex, I could either flex the other tight end. And let's see Damien Pierce, McCoy Lennon. Frey Tucker or Kendrick born. Okay, let's start with the tight end then, strange or fire, Muth? Strange. I'm super close on that little touch on equity for fire, Muth, but I'm totally fine with strange. On the flex, I actually love Kendrick born this week. I love Kendrick born Trey Tucker might be the play, but I'm going to say Kendrick, born as my flex spot there. I don't care about the Eagles guy. I mean, if Barclays out, you could justify Damien Pierce, but also like Pierce might be 12 carries for 28 yards. I mean, the pant is running as pretty bad. Yeah, like, and if you're down to a back of court, I mean, you can spin an narrative right where you can be all the crowd of the box. So like, oh, well, he might get 30 carries back of court back in. Yeah, that's true. And they could throw the ball out of the back field of bunch. If Barclays out, Pierce has the most volume potential. If let's say Barclays in though, which who are you picking? Trey Tucker, McCuy lemon Kendrick born. Oh, I don't want to I would not play lemon. I'm not I think that I play Trey Tucker. That was defense horrible. I'm I think they are going to shut down Michael Wilson. All the coverages there and Kendrick born down the middle for seven catches. So I like Kendrick born on that one. That's a fun question. Catalyst. Well, subdued. Hey, guys, thanks for having the show. Appreciate the love for karaoke. You know, I'm someone that tries my best not to ever do the same song twice in a lifetime, just because I want to be as creative as possible when it comes to doing it. Okay, that's good. Yeah, I definitely wouldn't be comfortable with that because I'd have to know I'm good with. But you know what happens to me? I lose my voice really bad when I get into the setting. So it's like, I die down, I die down. And I'm also like, I'm kind of like, I want to like wrap and stuff. I want to get in there. So, you know, Eric Erickson's bright side, I appreciate you. And, you know, next fantasy pro's trip, come out and karaoke with us, Catalyst. All right, I'll try my best. What do you got? So I wanted to talk about my rebuilding dynasty team. I'm trying my best to sell all the Gordon. But right now I'm only having like one person who is interested in it. But I'm just afraid of like not getting enough value off it. Would you agree, though, that the that he's probably like a late round two value for like the for the next pick this year? Yeah, I think that's like a late second round pick for 2027. If you were trading allie Gordon, I think yeah, it's because like I'm trying to get at least a second or just like at the very very most a second. Just he's so far pitched me like an idea as far as Malik Washington add his like third. Yeah, I mean, the thing in that in that team is obviously a competitor, right? In some way like it's kind of hard to tell with how he's approaching it, but he is. He does have a lot of value as far as the competitor does. Okay, well, because I was going to say like I definitely think a high in winning team is going to try to talk you down. I think I would play hardball because allie Gordon's value to next year is little to none. So the value is to a team that is competing now that has a running back for the rest of the season and RB one and then they've got it. You got a dream scape that, you know, maybe the dolphins trade him or something like that. But it's really all about this year. I think it's fair to be like, hey, an RB two for the entirety of this season should cost you a second round dynasty pick, but I understand why they would ask for a third. Erickson, what do you think about that logic? Do you think that's too much witch casting to get a second round pick for a guy like allie Gordon? Hey, everybody. I'm Chuck Brian of the stuff you should know podcast. And I'm Adam Pranika of the greatest generation and greatest trick. We decided to start a golf comedy podcast because we're both big golf lovers and we wanted to spread that joy and it's called three putt bogey. It's coming from the perspective of golfers who are sometimes good enough to hit two great shots in a row, but almost never good enough to hit three. And a three putt bogey is kind of the purest expression of that. Every golfer knows what that's like. Obviously we're going to talk a lot about the game of golf, how absurd it is, and how fun it is and how vexing and frustrating. But more than anything, just how much we love the greatest game in the world. We love it anyway. We're putting these out every Friday morning for your weekend golf routine. This is a show about sharing our experiences on the golf course and how absurd and funny they can be. And that's what three putt bogey is. It's three putt bogey everybody out every Friday. You can listen to it now on the iHeartRadio app Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcast. I'm former USman's National Soccer Team player, Carly Lloyd and Fox Sports reporter Jenny Taft. And on our new podcast, whatever it takes, we're talking motherhood, marriages, careers, and figuring out how to balance it all. And we'll discuss the game that brought us together because nothing is off limits. Do you remember your initial reaction when Fox called you to be a part of the World Cup? I was like, no, I don't want to do it. You said no. I played with players that didn't, I don't think that they really truly loved the game. I found the love with the ball at my foot, but in my head, it was the long game. It was like, I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox. I'm going to go get some reps and I'm going to learn it and love it and embrace it. He said, this group of people will never be in the same room as part of the same team ever again in your life. And it is your job to make sure that you enjoy the moment. You're proud of what you accomplish together. Listen to whatever it takes with Carly Lloyd and Jenny Taft on the iHeartRadio app Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, what's up, y'all? It's Quest Love.
And on the Quest Love Show, I've been sitting down with some really interesting people, and I've got two recent episodes you should check out. I caught up with my good friend, Jojo, and talk about her music, her career, and what she's been up to. - Don't invite me to karaoke. I'm gonna make it weird. Someone's gonna try to sing, leave get out or too little too late or baby too. - Oh, no. - And I'm gonna be like, okay, cool. - I also caught up with Wala 267 for a conversation that covered his story, his perspective, and plenty more. I don't even call it cheat day, 'cause it's a life day. I'm not doing that. Don't try to be slick and just go Sunday. Go Wednesday. This is what you do. Sleep later. Make a reservation for the rest of our later. Just chill. Listen to the music you wanna listen to. Just enjoy it. It's gonna be all right. Nothing's gonna happen. You wanna wake up Wednesday, go buy aah. And you're gonna feel better. - And those are just two of the many recent episodes of the Quest Love Show. Listen to the Quest Love Show or the iHeartRadio F at the podcast, wherever you get your podcast. Peace. - No, I don't think so. I think based on the projection of his production for the rest of the season, again, he should see a decent amount of volumes kind of earned his way as the RB1. He's a light rounder at pick. So that's always something that you have to be cognizant of where how much equity does his team really have in him, especially 'cause he's a holdover from the previous regime. But he seems like he has won over the coaching staff at least a little bit, which we don't expect any big firings from this coaching staff. So I think second round is probably what you'd actually want. I think that you just dumb for a third. It's like, I mean, I feel like you're just kind of resetting the board again, when at least he's shown like, it's gotta at least play in the NFL. And he could be, I mean, the best case scenario is he opens next year as the backup to HN, right? Who the team is already invested in, given that they gave him a contract and HN's coming off as season ending injury. So I, yeah, again, like I know when you're trying to rebuild, you're trying to dump off pieces, but like you gotta get through value, right? Don't just be like, well, I'm rebuilding so I just want your off picks, like I don't care what I sell. I think that's almost taking the easy way out. It's like, no, like make sure you're getting the actual bike. 'Cause if the value's not there, like, go and tell him to pound rocks. - Yeah, pound rocks, pound rocks, pound sand. - Pound rocks, kick, kick sand, pound rocks. - Yeah, pound bread. But like, play hardball. Don't be afraid to play hard, 'cause what did you miss if you don't make the trade catalyst? Oh, you didn't get a third round pick in the 2020 deal. Like, at that point, I would rather the opportunity, something happens where a team trades for Ollie Gordon and he gets a better opportunity or something like that. You should play hardball and try to get that second round pick. It's more than fair to ask for. Was that your, was that it on Dynasty? - Yeah, that was it, you know, it's tough 'cause it's like, he's one of the handful of people that actually responds like when it comes to trades. - Sure, but, you know, don't, I have man. That's been one of the biggest things I think that is a crutch. No, I'm not saying this is a crutch for you, but in Dynasty and Keepers and I get it, where it's like, well, my league doesn't really trade. This is all that's out there. And then people do it because it's like, well, this is it. But that's coming back to that hardball thing. He's in the same situation, by the way. If there's only a handful of people that are responding, then he can't really improve his team a whole lot if people aren't as well. So you should, you should use that to your advantage. And I think a second round pick is more than fair. I mean, dope if you can get like, Malik Washington and a second round, but even a second round swaps straight up if you're not competing is easy stuff. That is what I would do. Good Dynasty talk there. Also, want to talk to you guys about our friends over at Polymarket. It's a stock exchange for sports where you can buy in and sell out on your own terms. Dear friend, premium member on the Fantasy Pros Discord. Joe, what's up, Joe? - Hey, what's up guys? How you doing? - We're doing good, dude. How you doing? - Doing good. I'm gonna have point PPR Lee that I'm currently 5 and 0 and I have a start and sit question for Tyden and Flex and then I keep her cut question. - Let's do it. - All right, Tyden, do I start to watch Johnson or Tucker Kraf? - Ooh, Tucker Kraf. - Oh, okay, I thought you were gonna say do I watch Johnson, Erickson, that's good. Okay. - You guys both said Tucker Kraf. - Yeah, but we're both Tucker Kraf here. And then what was the dynasty? - Oh, it's not, it's not Dynasty is still the half point PPR. I'm just wondering like I have Zach Charbonne sitting in my IR and I don't know like because I'm 5 and 0 if I should just keep him there or if I should drop him, switch somebody else out for the IR position and pick up like a handcuffs like image Johnson from the chiefs. I would just keep Charbonne because he's gonna get activated after next week. - I mean, and dude, they were like trying to go get Joe Mixon. They're trying to get anybody to get out there. I don't know the image Johnson though. Image, like if I will point this out, if you have image Johnson and your IR, if there's a time to pick up image Johnson, it's right now coming off the buy just to see what, like what's the plan? Do they want to implement him? Obviously his value is based on Ken Walker getting hurt, but could there be a little bit more, but I think it's tough in that scenario to not want to have like Charbonne moving forward when you know, Jerry Price is banged up and they're trying to bring everybody in. So that's where I would go with that. Scott, what up? - Hey, how's it going guys? So I have a question around running back. I have Roman Wilson on my bench and I'm pretty good at receiver. I got Nico Collins, Parker Washington, Jalen Coker, Lad McConkey, and it's pretty deep league, but I also have a bunch of like really like backup on it, rain backs. Do I go get Najie Harris or Cory Kiner? - And Dr. G and Wilson? - Yeah, he's hurt, drop him, pick up Najie, easy. - You're cool with Najie, easy, not Kiner? I mean, not the Kiner's anybody of it. - I mean, maybe I'm underselling Cory Kiner. - I just don't think Najie is anything. You were like, oh. - I mean, Najie gets, I mean, Seth talked about it on the bedding pro show. I mean, Najie gets goal in opportunities. Like, Kiner is not, I mean, I'm expecting full-blown workload. They've, they've at least used Najie enough times where it's like, he can kind of be annoying to Cam Skataboo. Now, does that help boost his own value? Like not really, but Skataboo, if he goes down, is Najie not the next guy up? 'Cause the single Terry's been inactive like the last couple games. So I know in a deeply with me and Fitsy, we have Najie on the bench. Like, it's a 16-team league and I would rather have Najie and Roman Wilson. - So, do you notice yourself, your teams are better when you share it with like a like-minded, it's a little different, I guess, 'cause we like work in the industry and stuff, but like when you share a team with someone invested like you, do you notice your teams are better or are worse than when it is you, just you? 'Cause I don't know, I do, I do one with Bogman and every single year, like we're bangers. Like me and him and we fight about it and we argue and like we have to have Trump cards on like, well I get this person and all right, now you get this person, but every single year, like in the Super Flix pentathlon we do, which is against Fitsy and Scott Pianalski and there's industry people across the board, we bang those leagues. So when we draft together, I've noticed, I actually like my teams are almost better when I have that type of cross-canceling and I don't get too hyper focused on my guys, but I know that's not the case for everybody. - Honestly, I can go either way. I have good teams that I draft myself and that I share with others and I have bad teams like the same, so I'm just being honest. - Yeah, just take one day for fun. - I mean the one team I have with Fits has been Buns. 'Cause we won our first game finally for the first time last week, we were on four, but we had so many injuries. So guys are getting healthy, which is good. So. - All right, nothing entirely. You gave the like the NFL player, you know, one day at a time, just trying to be angry. Maybe he's trying to get better. Like, if the Chisholm F3 caught that touchdown over Johnson, he got a great guy full school plan again in a couple weeks. - Come on, say something good. Bucks, man, what up? - How's it going fellas, can you hear me? - We got you good, man. What do you got? - I got two questions. First one is in a standard league. I need you guys to pick two for me between Teddy World, McMillan, Foker, Roman Duse and Jeremy Bernard. - But Panthers. I think both, I hate saying it, but both Panthers, yeah. - If they combine for 30 points, don't care I got there. - Yeah. - Just be happy to play in both. - And Eagles might be turning that offense over even more. So Panthers, guys. What's question number two? - Okay, second question. This was in a half PPR league. Need to choose one between Jeremy Bernard, Joanne Johnson and Chris Godwin. - Ooh, thanks, Bucks, man. We kind of had that, which Bernard and Joanne Johnson with the other guy at Flex. - I am leaning. - Jeremy Bernard, just because I think Aaron Rogers is like a good spot starter this week and he's going to say any loves Bernard. So I'm going to go with Bernard. - I will go with Joanne. - You love using Joanne. - I'm going to touch on that. - I just, I like Joanne. The sample size with him in Tyler Sharp is much, much larger than it is with. I mean, again, we talked about the rank shot. Joanne, Jeremy Bernard runs one wrong route. Shadow realm. - Yeah. - Never gets another target again. [laughter] I do like it.
All I think about when you say that too, is it's like in Thunderbolts, with not I'm forgetting Bob or whatever, when he turns into Century or the Void, and yeah, if you know any of this is all Marvel's bull crap, but he just stands there. You drop a pass, Aaron Rodger turns into the Void, and then he just shadows people, and he just shadows that wide receiver. There's definitely a meme for that somewhere that's probably not worth it, but that's what I think of. 'Cause I'm a new, I'm a Marvel nerd. Rainman, what's up, Rainman? What's going on again, Jens? Well, I have a bit of a random one, and mainly, I guess, towards you, Erickson, because of the Patriots affiliation, but late Tuesday night, and I'm not sure how many people even caught it, 'cause then waivers ran, and there was a ton of them this week for some reason, but the guy that had Henderson dropped it in, and I guess I'm looking for your guys' thoughts, because of his production year to date, I don't know if it's worth blowing a whole bunch of fab on him, but now he's practiced, and I just saw like 10 minutes ago, he's on the field today, full pads. And so, right now I have Menongue, as my third running back with Cook and Walker, he's likely not playing this week, and so I'm actually trying to roll with Kendra Miller this week and next week with Cook Off. Do you think Henderson's worth trying to blow some money on and whatever, or I'm trying to make heads from tale with that situation, and end of season, I'm sure, especially if Mondry gets banged up, but is he better off than even Miller, or something even if he plays this week? - Yeah, he's totally one of those guys, where it's just like, how long are we gonna be hoisting me into the universe, the end of time, when we're like, he's just, he's gonna do it someday, he's just so talented, and it just, it doesn't happen, the breakout never happens, but it's hard to deny, but I mean, Erickson, you were at the forefront of it this year, when everyone was like, "Brother, you're two." Travian Henderson, it's a time, and you were pounding the table, just like the Jersey in the back there, that Reminder Stephenson's not going anywhere, but I think it would be hard press to not make a move, to pick them up, especially if it's short-term injury, you don't have a strong RB camp, if something happens with Reminderate, but I don't know if the promises are good for him long-term. I mean, I would rather probably him than Kendra Miller, but Kendra Miller probably has more short-term value. What do you think about picking up Travian? - I would rather have Travian than Kendra Miller. It's the best press of season, right? I get that Kendra has the more short-term appeal, but it is very, very short-term. And when people ask me these certain types of deals, it's like, who do you rather have rest of season, under center Kendra Miller? I don't think it's particularly close. - Yeah, it's not pretty. - So I get that the short-term appeal for Miller is always facing the giants, like it's a good matchup, but like he could totally airball, right? And would not surprise me for an offense, I can't run the football whatsoever. So if Kendra is the only expendable piece, 'cause I'm not dropping Monangai even though he's banged up. And if I got a flex Henderson, I mean, the fact that he has gone from a possible IR candidate with a high ankle sprain to limited yesterday on Wednesday and then putting on the full pads on there. I mean, what kind of high ankle sprain was this? Colleen, I thought I don't know. So yeah, I don't know if there's anything else you have to add. I mean, if you gotta drop Kendra, you gotta do it. - He said it beautifully. - Not all of it. The frustration, the chaos of it, the Travian. He's like, why couldn't AJ Brown have this high ankle sprain? - No kidding, right? They're like, it's gonna be a month. Nope, he's back next week. He's Superman. Yeah, I don't know. Travian is trending in like the worst direction you can trend, but he's just also super talented and he just don't have a robust back feel. Like those are the type of guys you bet on. You want to bet on those type of players. Now, if the question was centered around, would you cut Kendra Miller for Henderson? That makes it, 'cause I don't know if you caught. He has to start Miller next week. So like, if knowing that, would you be comfortable dropping a Kendra Miller, knowing he has to be a starter next week for Travian? - Remember the Saints playing next week? 'Cause I think that the Saints Backfield could flip. Is Camara gonna be that little involve for two weeks and a row? And then H&N's gonna come back. That's the thing, like there's so many other factors to play with Miller. - But I guess my point was gonna be like, that's fine, whoever, they're playing the Steelers. But if Travian's not active and you have nobody, it's a matter of getting a zero to speculate on Henderson or put, you know what I'm saying? Do you feel confident enough that because he's back in pads and stuff, he'll be back out next week and you would just rather him no matter what or know that you gotta get your value? - If a trade came in and I had Kendra Miller and someone was like, I'll give you Travian Henderson. I'm taking that 100 out of 100 times. - There's easy. - I don't even care about. And then if I gotta take a zero on one of my slots, so be it, I'm not gonna give up that type of value when it's clear in my mind which player you'd rather have. And there's a chance, I mean, if Henderson's practicing in full on Thursday and pressure is gonna play. - Yeah. - And then if he doesn't have any real abses, he'll probably be more healthy next week when the Patriots play Ding, Ding, Ding, the Chicago Bears. - I'm pretty good matchup. - Pretty good. - Pretty good. - We'll take that. - We'll take that. - All right, good one. Lando. - Premium member of the fantasy pro's discord. We were just locked step there, that was perfect. Lando. - Lando. - Pretty good. - Can you guys hear me? - Yeah, we got you, man. - Yep. - Right on, thanks, fellas. - Yeah. - All right, so I'm pretty deep on wide receiver in my Super Flex league. Cubes are pretty weak though. I was thinking about trading away Garrett Wilson and Bo-Nix for Chase Brown and CJ Stroud. Any thoughts? - Who, wait, who's the first player? - Garrett Wilson and Bo-Nix for CJ Stroud and Chase Brown. - Okay, so I guess, do we have to have a Chase Brown conversation? And then they even said they had to re-evaluate, by the way, thank you for the question. They'd re-evaluate, or they're always evaluating the running back situation. Like, I like, I gotta be honest with you. I'm not like Stroud over Nix, moving forward. But, okay, you're with me on that. But, yeah, no, I think it's a need thing. I think they're in the same tier ballpark. Obviously, Chase Brown has been underwhelming. I'm not concerned about, are we gonna do the Samosha P-Rine thing? I mean, these guys been relieved for how long? - No. - I'm just not convinced that this is like, oh, a major shakeup of the back field. P-Rine has his role. He played well against the Miami Dolphins. Chase Brown fumbled. You know, maybe got a little bit of the doghouse. And I think I'll bounce back. So, I think the team still believes a lot has a high income. I think Chase Brown's are screaming by a low right now for teams that need running backs. He's down to buy a week, coming off a bad game where P-Rine outproduced him. Chase Brown has outproduced P-Rine in 20 other previous games. Like, so I don't like the comments about it. I want them to be, I want them to be dismissive and be like, I don't worry about it. You know, some guys, P-Rine, sometimes P-Rine has a good game. Not like, we're always evaluating the running back spot. Like, what? - Oh, I mean, I think it's like, hey, Chase Brown played better. I mean, like, he hasn't like been fantastic to start the year. He's got it improved. I mean, this happened last year too. Came out the gates a little bit sluggish. I know Joe Brown missed some time, but I'm still believing Chase Brown. I still believe in the talent. Team can run the ball. And this offense should get cooking. So, I think you see a fired up Chase Brown out of the buy week. And I think that for running back needy teams, I think this is a good move to make. So, I like it. - Well, and he said too he needed the quarterback in the running back and he was deep at wide out. So, I think that's like a no-brainer. - Yeah. - You in a good spot, J-Dadd H. - How's it going? - How's it going? - Yeah, good. How you doing? - Good. Quick question. So, I'm trying to figure out my flex right now in my league. So, I have Bucky Irving, Ramondrae Stevenson, and I also have this week. Let me just check really quick to verify with you. And I have JCM. I'm trying to figure out if I should start one of those in my flex. And if I should cut Kenneth Gainwell for a waiver wire. - What would be the waiver wire? - Yeah. - I was thinking about either like Holani from Seattle - No. - Or Vidal. - No, no. I mean, the charter's going on by next week. So, you're going to cut Vidal. - Yeah. - And once you cut the wire, it's going to be annual, and then they try to handle it. - Well, CC is like an 80% snap share this week, which it's probably going to be a three-man committee. I mean, you got Bucky, you got Gainwell, I don't know, I think that that's fine. I'm not over the moon with those other guys. So, I don't care about dropping Gainwell for Vidal, but I just don't, I think it's like lateral. And if we're being honest, if the chargers, once they lose, and they're winless, and they fire McDaniel, and they reassess the offense, like, what is the thing they could have to reassess? We got to get Hampton involved. Like, why was he not involved? So, I don't know if Vidal is good here. He doesn't fit the scheme, like, the scheme is not, maybe Hampton will be a by-law. - Maybe it's a by-law, yeah, 100%. - We might just be there where the price is just so down-bad that you got to buy back in. - On the other question, a flex. I mean, if Travion is not active, are you a reminder, you got to be a reminder over Bucky. - But if so. - I mean, Bucky's managed to be much tougher this week. - No, I know, but Bucky. - So, I'm still going to a reminder. Even if Travion is active? - Yeah. - Oh, no, I'm Bucky over him. But, Remondre, if there's-- - Against the Steelers? - Why Bucky over, I mean-- - Push on equity, perceptions. He catches the ball out of the backfield, like they-- - So, just, even if he catches the ball, who's going to score more points? The Patriots or the Bucks? - Fair.
I mean, I think it's still Stevenson. - Yeah, I mean, they're relatively close. - I mean, it's gonna be tough, 'cause Stevenson gets the booze, 'cause of Henderson, was at least presumed not to play at all. - And the rank is representative, 'cause Jay Daddy pointed out that the fan suppose rank, appreciate you doing that, that's easy for my job. RB10 and Bucky's at 14 right now. If Travian was active, I think people are gonna move down Ramondrae. Like Ramondrae without Henderson, that's just the easy answer. Like that's the answer. You and I are split if Henderson were to play and be totally good. I can't imagine he is. So really, we don't even have to argue about it. It's Henderson, but I'm okay with Bucky, even though it's not like the best matchup, just because what do they do with Bucky? They'll just start in middle, dump passing a game. Well, does not make Bucky disappear from the passing game, but your point is valid in that. Like if the Patriots are rolling, Ramondrae's opportunities are gonna be there, so. So that's-- - Again, it's close, but it's a good question. - It's a good question, it's a good question. - It's a good question. - The best question. Do it, why have you not done it? - Yeah, autopilot game changer when you're driving from five different million weddings, and you don't have Wi-Fi, it's just, it's very confident feeling in knowing that my optimal lineup has been set, and you just trust the ranks, and you trust the process, and more often than not, works out. - If anything, it stops you from tinkering and making bad decisions. - Whether you were, whether you this weekend have five weddings or you're like me and embarrassingly booking a hotel on Skid Row in LA with your kid, whatever it is, autopilot will protect you when you're panicking or having a great time. - So, wow, because, well, it was in a scenario where he's trying to protect his son, he doesn't even worry about saying his fan, he says, - I don't. - I'm protected, yeah, when I'm battling the world around me, I don't have to battle my fantasy teams. Fantasy Pros app, greatest read of all time. Devil, what up? - Hey, sorry about that, technical difficulties. So, Hurt and I running back this week with buys and injuries. I picked up Damien Pierce, so if Barkley doesn't play, which I don't think he's supposed to be, but if he doesn't, I assume he gets put in, but if not, my options are Kamani Vidal, I'm at Johnson in Justice Hill, which I don't like any of those. So, just trying to see what you guys are looking at. - I am Pierce. - Yeah, I think even more now with Hurt's not out, it feels like they got to just be like, everybody take a week off. You know, like, what are we going for here? If Barkley's active, you still want to play Pierce? 'Cause I think I'm in at Johnson. - Oh, no, you can't. No, Pierce is a, I mean, he's like, I hope he's like, are we 60 for me if Barkley's playing? - Okay, but then if Barkley is active, would you, Emmett off of the buy? - Yeah, I like Emmett. I think this could be interesting spot for him to get more involved. I think Vidal probably has the most like proof of concept 'cause his equity has gone up the last couple of weeks, but it's just really hard when it's a three-way committee and you really have no, like what would you set the under over at Vidal's touches? - I mean, but it's like different. I know, it's a great point. It's different every week. It was like Keith Mitchell, then it's Vidal. - And it's a game script dependent. It's, is it target? - Eight point five. - It's a catch it. - Eight point five. - And it feels like he is, maybe he's like, the best rusher of the three, but that gives him the least amount of fantasy value because he has to score a long touch now because Red Zone still goes to Hampton. Target some receptions go to Mitchell, and then Vidal gets carried inside the 20s. So even if he's like the quote unquote best fit in this system, it's not necessarily translating. I mean, obviously he scored the last two weeks, I believe, but that's just like, it's also the chiefs on the road. It's like not a great matchup, whereas Emma Johnson on the other side of that game. I think, I think Emma Johnson will probably be the play for me. - I think so. All right, let's do a little bit of lightning round. We got a nice little cue here. We got a little bit more time. So let's get some of those questions in moglie. What's up? - Yeah, it's going on a couple of questions with Hertz out. I had Goddard. Would I be better off going with Higby? - No, we talked about this a little bit earlier. - Yeah, we are the most like Goddard that's safety net. Option for a backup quarterback. It's not great. I get why you'd want to go Higby, but I'm going to go Goddard still. - I guess like for me, it's like what's Goddard's trajectory really going to change? The volume is still probably going to be similar with Hertz. The offense was already bad, right? Like I guess I could just get even worse, but how much more worse is, I mean, what's the margin? - Tags and you thought like, oh, there'll be nothing offensively. I'd be a little bit more worried. It's a panthers. - I think that there could be something. - Head to Stevens is not good, yeah. - Yeah. - Okay, and the second one, I've managed to skip my way to a five in a record, and I got AJ Brown coming off, and I've got a lot of A and Z as my one and two, so I don't really need AJ Brown to eventually turn into anything more than a wider super three, but the tight end spot is always been sitting there and being five and no Brock Bowers is on a one and four team. And I'm trying to figure out how much to give for a guy like Bowers. I mean, with AJ Brown, I've managed to get to five and no without him. Is it worth giving him up another piece or how valuable is Bowers at this point? - I think the only thing you could justify to a one and four team to do anything and move off is they gotta get multiple pieces. A one and four team should have no interest in one for one pieces. Why? I think you've got to sell them two pieces. Now, I don't want to use a flowers in a piece, but I think it's AJ Brown and another, you've got to sell them that they are gonna get two pieces to start in their lineup, and I would go brown and then some type of running back. - I don't think a one and four team wants AJ Brown. - I don't disagree, but okay, but then let me put it to you. He think he's had Zay Flowers, this is our wider super two. Would you trade? - He's a larvae and flower. So I would trade a larvae and whatever tight I'd even playing to get Bowers. That's what I would do. - But why would Bowers in a lot of everything? - I don't think I want to do that. - Because he gets two pieces, right? - I think he wants to talk about it. - You know what, try that. I think that's a good way to try. Remember also, I want to point out you are five and no. So sometimes if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but I would be trying to play down. I would be trying to get AJ Brown and then another piece to push it. If it gets to like a larvae and flowers and a tight end, okay, maybe, but that's it. So because he said Tutanum Brown. That seems like a lot, but if he's not starting him. That feels like a lot to trade. If Tutan is your RB2, I don't want to do that. Like you have a court. He's got Bijan and then he's got Chase Brown. Would you do Chase and AJ Brown? Get all the browns out of there. - I mean, you have to give the other person another tight end though, 'cause they don't have one. - Yeah, because they're trading away power one and four. They don't care. You throw him in whatever dumb tight end he has then, sure. And get another piece. - Close to the level. - He has pits. Yeah, so we don't have a tight end. - We don't have a tight end, okay. Yeah, I don't know. I think play around with that. I think we gave you like a good general space to play. - An angle. - Yeah, I think that the angle to talk about here is that it's tough to trade with one in four teams. You know what I mean? Like how do you trade with one in four teams? - I mean, honestly, well, the fact that we're struggling so much to kind of come with a congrats there, I think you've got a lot of off, man. You're five and oh. - Yeah, it's a great point. - I had a hit, man. Like if we're like, and again, we went through the process, we tried to figure out ways to seem like we made this deal making, and I get like, you're five and oh, you want to keep the good times rolling, can you make a move and try to be perfect? Like, I'm sure that when we look back at this deal, you're thinking, oh, like doing this for AJ Brown would have been so perfect. Or like, selling off Olave would have been perfect, but we can't predict the future. We're just using the best logic we can. And right now, you're five and oh, they're one and four, you know, they got to make a deal, right? - Yeah, they can come to you. - Oh, it just sends a small trade. - Send a trade that like AJ Brown and then like a smaller piece that and then see what they say. That's where to go. - Sully, what up? - How's it going guys? I hope you're doing well. I'll try to make this as quick as I can. Question is kind of just about handcuffing at this point in the season. I know, I believe, I don't want to put words to your mouth, Erickson, but I think you were talking about handcuffing if you have Bijan and Kenneth Walker. And I got both of them, but they're an eight man league where I feel like it's not, it kind of makes my team not as like viable if I want, like I have Swift as well. But then I also have a 14 teamer where I feel like, you know, I have James Koch and I feel like I need a lot to raid Davis just in case something happens there. So kind of just the bigger picture on handcuffs, I guess if that makes sense. I hate handcuffing in an eight man league. - So when I was talking about this on the live stream, I know that one of the commenters actually disagree with me and I, you know, again, you don't have to agree with everything I say. And I wanted to add the context that it does depend. Like it's not black and white that all handcuffing, like makes a ton of sense to do. I think it depends on the backfield, how certain we are and confident we are that the quote unquote handcuff running back will take on a larger workload and deliver in that work.
because I thought that the person may really astute point when they were disagreeing me was like, yeah, you get more upside-rushing other people's handcuffs. And I agree. I think that there is a lot of upside with that. But I also feel like if you know that Ken Walker has an injury history and you know that Emma Johnson is really good and is going to probably see a bell cow roll. Like I just don't want to play that game. You know, like funny about you saying this. I just wanted to add to it is when you were going through this, if I were to handcuff one, it was Emma Johnson to Ken Walker. Yeah, I'm not really interested in the Brian Robinson one. Yeah. So yeah, so that point. So so I do think it does depend on like the backfield. Like like if you have camp scatter, we're a Bucky Irving. Like these other guy, like whatever. Like if you want kind of game, well great. If you don't want them cut them. Like I don't think it's a every you have to have every single handcuff. And even like to the Ray Davis point, I guess I could push back and be like, they love Thai Johnson. I think like he gets involved a lot. So Ray Davis would obviously get a boost. But I think it's nice to have a handcuff. I think that's probably the best way to phrase it. It's nice to have a hang up. If you don't go out of your way to do it, if you can get Emma Johnson for free because you have Ken Walker. But like you got to trade leg and arm to get this. And maybe that's where I misspoke. Maybe I shouldn't have been so defined about that on the live stream. But you got to do whatever it takes to get Ken walk or Emma Johnson. If you have Ken Walker, maybe that's too aggressive. But I think if you can add those guys as throwins to deals, just to like, hey, get some insurance. I mean, I don't know. If you have Christian McCaffrey, don't you kind of want to have cannon black? Like, I don't know. Like it just feels like I would prefer true. Yeah. If the day man league and the handcuffs are going to be the first to go. So I would in a shallower league, deeper league, you have a lot of bench spots. Yeah, I would hold on to those handcuffs because it's not really hurting you. But if you got to make moves, yeah, you got to cut the handcuffs first. So hopefully that makes sense. I'll try to get to a couple more here. Rick, Premium member, fantasy pros discord, what up? Hey, how's it going, guys? Appreciate taking my message here. Right now I've got my three wide receiver set 12, that 12 team league, half point BPR. I've got a lot of a tech and tape looking at picking up Marvin Harrison Jr. I got digs and Chisdum on my bench. How aggressive should I be? I was thinking about putting in like 12 bucks from. Yeah, I dropped Chisdum pick up Harrison. Yep, I'm totally now with that too. Even though he's even though he has his own. It's, yeah, ATO Dale. What up, can you hear me? We got you. All right, sweet. So I have a team that's kind of in shambles right now. And I have a trait in place to get rid of B. John and Harold Fanon for Chubba Hubbard. Either George Pickens or AJ Brown, and then Colson Lublin and Prumos. Hate it. Yeah, I don't want to trade B. John's or anything, doesn't that? Chubba doesn't involve Chubba. Chubba doesn't involve Jamir Gibbs. Yeah, Pickens is cool. The other pieces don't mean anything to me. So no, you got to get elite elite. You got to get bigger pieces if you're going to give away B. John. No, thank you. The boys are back. Hey, yeah. Chins are last one. Chins are what up? I have AJ Brown in the league where I'm two and eight with medium scoring. I've made a lot of trades in these last two weeks. I've been the second top scoring team and I played the top scoring team in the week. So I have to start three receivers. Is it even worth waiting out to see if AJ Brown becomes something? Cause I know high angle springs are pretty bad productivity when you come back. Or if not, when is the best time to try to flip them? Like right before he's going to come back and play when value might be at its highest. And what do you I'm probably trying to go wide receiver, wide receiver here. So I think you have to get him back doing something to trade him. I don't think this is the time. I mean, maybe it's right now when it like today, when everybody's kind of like, oh, but I think you got to get him back producing. Yeah, it's always fun to try to figure out when the exact right time to sell high on this certain player, right? I think that you put them on the block. And if you get an offer that you like, you move off of AJ Brown. So it's one of those like, take the burden, the hand, right? If you don't need to wait for him to do anything and you can get a good deal, take it because there's always a chance like, well, if I wait for him to play the bears, and he goes off, maybe he could get more, but you could, you could wait forever. And you could always get more, right? If he keeps on producing, it's like, I should have just kept it the entire time. So I think that if I were to time it, in my opinion, it would be Thursday night. He plays Chicago Bears has a big game and then you trade after that point. Now again, there's no guarantee that's actually how it plays out. But if you're really trying to aim for the maximum return on AJ Brown, it would be an island game when everyone is watching in a good match. But it's a really bad defense where he is not coming off a game playing on Sunday, where every other guy played on Sunday. So that would probably be the best timing that was just I agree.
