Happy Tuesday, if you're listening on a Tuesday, I just got back from LA last night. I went for work and I brought my whole fam 'cause that's how I do. I don't know, I can't stop being me. I can't stop being the fucking cutest person ever. No, I really like, first of all, I did work out timing-wise because I had to go last week which was that week like in between school and camp and we were looking for something to do anyway 'cause we were kinda like, oh, we'll do something last minute 'cause Noah's off from camp and blah, blah, blah. And then school doesn't start, you know? And then this came up and I was like, oh, let's go. We had such a great time last time when we went to LA and we rented a house and we're like, yeah, let's do it again. Pull whatever. And then husband invited my mom, which was really sweet. Husband probably had ulterior motive because he knew I'd be working. So he was probably like, oh Sarah, you should totally come and she got so excited, it was so cute. She was like, oh my God, sure, yes. And meanwhile, I'm like, oh, that's okay. Oh, he knows he's gonna be with the kids. Like I had like two days of work out of the four that we were there. So he knew what he was doing, but my mom was still super excited and just loves spending time with them. And also like they're pretty, I was gonna say chill. Lenny's a fucking maniac right now. Terrible twos, where are you? Like you are here. Noah's chill. And so like she has like, run around. You know, it's just like she gets saying out with them, which is fun for her. And it was really just nice that you came. Also three on two is great. I don't know how you do two on three. You get what I mean, right? Like three adults on two kids is so helpful. My God. And then how do you do three on two? I don't know, I mean, two on three. I don't know, you guys tell me. I mean, you're outnumbered at that point. So anyway, I did post about the experience we had at Hellstone, which is South Beverly Grill there. I posted about that on Instagram. I really didn't think like people would care that much. And if anything, I thought people would care more like generally, but all of a sudden I'm learning that like Hellstone sucks across the board. And so many people fucking know that. I'm like, wait, where have I been? I've been fucking praising Hellstone for my whole life saying it's my number one restaurant. Every time I go, I post about it like when people ask me like, but you're favorite in New York, Hellstone. Like we are sick about it. And yes, usually we don't go with the kids 'cause it's like our dinner spot, not really our lunch spot. But we did go in LA with the kids. And I mean, they didn't say no. And there were other kids there. And yeah, so I mentioned that one in the post, but I didn't expect people to kind of go crazy about it. And to hear so many stories from other families that this exact same scenario happened to them, but even not this exact same scenario. But people were about other things. Like whether it was like wearing a baseball cap, wearing a tank top, having a friend come say hello for a drink when they were four people. And then the fifth friend came, there was room for her, but still they were like, no, you're gonna have to either tell her to leave or all leave. So they're a little stuck the fuck up. And it's annoying me and it sucks that I can't go back now because I'm so angry. But yeah, it was, we were there with Lenny and Noah. They were actually being sweet. They were playing this drawing game on my phone. Noah, like, Noah Lenny. This is his new favorite thing, which I tell him. Like you can do this at home, not in public. Like, I annoy him. I get, it's fun to annoy him. He gets very annoyed very quickly from nothing. Okay, zero to 100. He's like, ah, so they were playing really cutely and then Noah, like annoyed him and then Lenny was like, ah, you know, did his little thing. And less than a second, a manager was there bending down toward me, condescending toward me, saying like, you know, like it's my requirement to come over and tell you that like, you know, what can we do to help him stop, like calm down? Like could I get you mango? People were dying specifically over the mango part of like the fucking mango. Like what? I looked at her. I was just so in shock, I couldn't even answer, which you guys, if I don't have the words, like it means like I was astounded. Okay, like I didn't have the fucking words. Like I was just like, and I think what I said was like, I said, he just did one, one meal. And she was like, no, I think there were like a couple before and like we really need to make sure like he's calm. So what can we do? And it's like, do you want to fucking like inject him with that? Like what do you, I was like, he's fine. Like he's totally fine. By the way, they brought over the mango later anyway, which is so funny. But what kills me about is like, listen, if I go into a quiet restaurant, like in it's like crickets, you can hear crickets, like obviously you're like, this is not. But if it's like a place where like all you hear is like plates and people, like everything gets drowned out anyway. So I'm not sure. And obviously like in the post, if he was inconsolable, if he was crying or screaming for more than the one freaking blip, I would take him out, but it was just shocking. And I feel like after my experience, slash after hearing that this happened to so many people, I'm like kind of really fucking knocked out. And I think I'll have to ban it for my life and deal with it. And it's fine because I used to be obsessed with the coconut shrimp roll. I got over it once my sister found the shrimp tail and they're not the tail, the poop, whatever that is. So I never ate the shrimp roll again. So I do the Thai tuna roll, which is fine. I guess it's good piece of sushi, I'll live, okay? And the salads are fine. Like, we'll live, we'll all live, okay? And even if I go, then I'll never post about it because I'm not gonna give them the fucking sentence action. I probably won't go, probably won't go. But then people did show me this is the only update that I don't think I shared on Instagram that on their website, it does say, which by the way, I don't, didn't never go to their website. It says our restaurants are not intended for large groups. And we prefer more intimate experiences serving parties of two. So it's like a date night only. Please know that our ability to come to parties larger than four is limited. So it's like saying here again, like, prefer parties of two. Then it says our restaurants are generally not the best environment for young children. We welcome families, okay? So it's not, not allowed. But we ask parents to keep children at the table and calm period, should be a period. We welcome families, but we ask parents to keep children at the table and calm vocal infants or youngsters and calm vocal infants or youngsters outside of the dining room. By the way, like the dining room is the only room. So that means like the fuck out, okay? Youngsters and vocal infants. Oh my god, this is plenty of vocal infant. We do not offer child seating nor do we allow strollers in the dining room. So they make it pretty clear on the website that they're not kid like friendly. It's not like kid free, but it's not kid friendly. Anyway, I'm fucking whatever the fuck. I'm happy to be back in New York. I do love going out late for work. I love changing up the vibe, but I do think like I come back and I'm like, give me, give me the avenues and the streets. You know what I mean? Give it to me. But maybe I need to visit like other areas 'cause we stayed in and we held this time which I didn't love to be honest, but that's what was left by the time I booked. Last time we stayed in the hills and I did really like the hills. I know, I'm fans of the day. Anyway, let's move on to today's podcast. Okay, where she was a bit different online than she is today. So we talk about that, which I think is probably one of the most interesting things I took away from the conversation is like, there is so much more to the girl that you see online, that you want to be like, that you aspire to look like and girls go crazy over her. She has a really successful brand. She's now officially a wife of a. tennis player. Her wedding was in frickin' bog. Okay, she's a fancy lady, but she's still asked for a white claw at 11 a.m. So I fucking love that. You could be both. You could be both. It's page previously Lorenz, now page Paul. Obviously we go into like changing her name and the decision behind that. And so much more page Paul and toy. Can I see? I love this studio because the lighting is so fucking tight. It really is. Like when I heard we were shooting, I was like, oh hell yeah. Yeah. I'm good now. No, you asking for a white claw at noon. First time I loved it. I was like, oh my god, she came with vibes. Yeah. You've been there. No, I got sent a video that you made where you were just being like very kind. I was. Yeah. And supporting me. And it was so nice. And I became an immediate fan. And yeah, but you've really seen all of my all your shit. Oh my shit. I know I was wondering because because when I was thinking about like this interview and I was like, okay, I remember when you lived in New York, I remember what you're fucking like a apartment look like, you know, because you posted it. Yeah. All the time. And I was like, I've been doing this for a long time. Right. Yeah. And like, is that archived or can people find like, you know what I mean? Oh, yeah. My whole everything's on the internet. Okay. Everything's on it. All the evolution. Some pages. Yes. I just, oh, yeah. I just post so much that it gets like you have to really scroll. Yeah. Yeah. Everything's on there. Everything's on YouTube. All my hair colors and getting lip filler and dissolving lip filler. It's all, it's all on there because it was very blonde then. Very blonde. Yeah. But you always had the like kind of two sides, I feel like. Yeah. I feel like, yeah, it's maybe New York was like a little messier and you would maybe come home drawing and like, you go with your friends, but you always also had the like bronco or something. Yes. Yes. I mean, that's just the way I grew up. Yeah. For sure. I definitely have always had that sort of more suburban country side of me. But I think that's something that people think nowadays is that I am still that silly. Like, I'm still like, I don't go out as often. But like, when I get drunk, it's, you guys, she asked for a white cloth and we were like, we have beers. She's like, I'm drinking beer. I really thought you would be like, no, to the beer. But I feel like that is important, by the way. And that's why I think it's great that you're doing my pod. Yes. Because like, and that's why I like doing podcasts. I think that because of my aesthetic and because I like curating so much. Yes. Like, I find so much beauty in curating socials that I think it has made me seems very serious. But I can't make fun of myself. And that I don't get silly. And I do. That's so true. Do you think about that off like a lot? Or you're just aware of it. No, it's definitely come up more, I think recently just because I am, I would say invogue for me, you know, or wedding as info like she's she's she's lady. I've grown and I'm realizing that people haven't seen all these sides of me, right? Some people are just discovering me now for the first time and they see me marrying a tennis player. It's a very polished sport. And they see just a version of my Instagram that is more polished. It is. And I think it's just not a true representation of who I am. Of all the sides of me. And I think also people like to put you in a box, go, she's one thing, or she's this or she's that. And I think that something that's always been a part of who I am is that I'm just like a lot of different things. So when like people that like follow you meet you, do you think they're like surprised or I definitely think so. Except if you're probably not like being sick, they're probably like, "Hey, Paige, I love you." And you're like, "Oh, I don't like you." So I'm like, "Hey!" And they expect you to like curtsy or something like that. I think that I'm also just, I don't know, like I like showing up with warms with people. Because I want people to feel comfortable. So I think that when you're sort of self-deprecating and silly and warm, people can put their guard down around you. And I want people to feel like that around me. I just saw something so funny before we get into the wedding that I saw that you saw. But so I want to bring it up is that the toast girls, this came up on my feed and it was like, they were, Claudia talks about like getting skinny a lot or you know, whatever. And she was like, when I get skinny again, she was like, "I'm going to just skinny." I still have that video. That was so silly. That's like the thing, like the girl. Yeah, they're so kind to me and supportive. Are you friends with them? I'm friendly with them. Yeah. Yeah, they said that. That was very funny. But that was so like, because you do have this like, like how does it feel? Like you have this thing that like people want, like the B, you know, they're like, "Ah!" Yeah. Right? Yeah, I think that. It's so flattering, but I think that in so many ways, I think that beauty and a lot of like beauty that is shown that maybe people see or the reasons I think I'm beautiful, it's a lot of just like, I'm not, it's kind of hair and makeup and putting together outfits and effort. Like I'm not saying that I am, I am honestly my most comfortable self when I am not wearing makeup and when I'm just at home with Tommy. But I think that in a lot of ways, I felt like at a young age to create a sort of, not online character, but this person and this persona, you do have to do the hair and the makeup and it's fun. Like I find fun in that, but that's not, it's not like real life, you know, like I'm not saying that I don't look like that. Right. But it's also not, it's glam and it's hair and it's makeup and it's effort. Yeah. To look that put together and to look that tan and I love how you say that. I am tan. No, by the way, but as you were saying, like I love being at home and like comfy, I'm thinking of you and like low rise like, you know, Heather Gray swept me like fantasizing. And like, and yeah, I really tend flat tummy and that's still fucking looks good. But I get what you're saying. Yeah. Obviously, I get what you're saying, you guys, it's also not all about the looks. She has other things. But, but, but I don't understand. And I mean, I'm obviously posting a lot of photos of myself in a curated way. And I think that it is so flattering. And I do care about the way that I look. But I think that it's, it's also feels like part of my job in a way. You're very good at it. Thank you. Like if you weren't doing this for you, you could do it for other people. Do you think about that? Yeah. I, you're like, if I, if I never open my own shit, like you could be hired to do it for not that that's what you do. Yeah. So she media wise. Yeah. But you're very good at like making things look at branding and stuff like that. It's definitely I think I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing, which feels really good. Because you went through a lot of different things to get here, right? But yes, but I do think I've always been really consistent on social media, matter if I was crashing out or going through something, I think I've always put my head down and taken it seriously like a job. Yeah. Like I love what I do. And I'm really proud of my career as a creator. Because I've, yeah, I've stayed very consistent. How's it changed though? Because you said like there was a different kind of page at the beginning. But in terms of how much you share, has that changed? Like were you more like face to camera at the beginning? Like guys, I'm going through this. And now it's more like come with me to a tennis day. And maybe it's like a little bit less like personal personal. I would say yes, because I've gotten older. And I think that I also think that in many ways with the internet now, people have, there's some sense of like bullying the silly and wanting to share sides of me. That is subconscious. And I think that the internet has changed a lot. Things are taken out of context. There's no nuance anymore. People really view us as one dimensional things and people. And I find that it makes me want to share less. Yeah. Because even if I were to say something that maybe I did regret or something that maybe, you know, maybe I have an opinion on something that my opinion changes in six months. Right. There is no room for that anymore on the internet. You cannot change your mind. You really cannot. They don't really allow you to grow up even though they want you to grow up. It's it's like an impossible feat. They are very aware of. I'm very aware. I'm very aware. And I'm very career oriented. So like I'm not going to allow that to I'm not going to allow anyone to take that away from me or my career or diminish me. So I just don't share in certain ways anymore. But that wasn't like One day I woke up and decided I can't do this anymore. I think it was like a subconcious progression over time of just like I see also how people are talking about other women regardless of how they're talking about me. Like I would say like the hate that I get is pretty normal and not that drastic compared to a lot of other people and it's quite normal. With my fan base it's it's like I think it's usually a percentage of your fan base. Not like if you're a normal creator. If you have a certain amount of followers you're going to have a certain amount of haters. Yeah. If you have two million Instagram followers like three five percent of that is going to be hardcore haters are following. I hope you guys are listening like obsessively following. They're obsessively following. Well, I also think that in life the difference between love and hate is kind of like similar. It's fine. It's a fine line but it's also if you that feeling of loving someone and caring enough can also be flipped on its back and and you can have that same passion. Maybe you shouldn't be that passionate either way. What are your thoughts on that? It is interesting and there's actually something I've thought about a lot in the last week of I was thinking a lot about parasocial relationships on the internet and what's happening right now in TikTok. It's really scary. It's basically because it's become a discourse now. It's no longer silly funny videos. It's truly like a discourse forum of talking about people that they don't know making statements about people that don't know degrading women that they don't know. It's all a woman attacking woman. It's really no longer conversations that can be had. It's really like one side of things, also people using taking things out of context for clickbait to use someone's name in a video because they know it'll get too old. Totally. And I think that is really damaging and I think that it's that is social media now. It makes it so much less fun. I remember like I just had somebody on my podcast a little bit ago and we were laughing because she had some drama and she remembered that I called her and I was like, do not face the camera. No fucking face. No, that's the one that you can't do. I'll do face the camera nowadays of like this morning I was like, I don't know if to have another baby. Yeah. But like in terms of how much I used to do it and you're right, like whether it's deliberate or not, we all are navigating this space now with more caution just because of all the different things that you've said and not to say again that it's not like a great thing and a powerful tool and made our lives and all the things but it is to me like sat like the way that you know there's that meme of like you know kids born in the 90s like know what it's like before. Yes. Internet. I'm like we knew what it was like before it got ugly. Yes. That's to me like so fun when it was pure. It was pure. I think one of the biggest issues I studied media in college. So we talked a lot about it. Same. You guys have a degree for this. Wait. I agree, so we can talk about this. But I think that something I learned and we talked a lot about which this was a long time ago before TikTok was just how new the internet was and how there's not many laws. There's not many rules. There's not many regulations and I think that we are unfortunately seeing just the consequences of really unregulated platforms. And I think that freedom of speech is so important. And if you share your life online, you know, people are going to have an opinion on it. But the way in which discourses go so into bullying, cyber bullying, cyber stalking, cyber harassing is in the US a problem. Cyber bullying does not only affect influencers. Right. And by the way, when if you're a young person and you're seeing your favorite creators, that you just you can't even if you don't want to follow creators, we're just like fed to the platform. If we are seeing all these women talk about other women like this, how is that affecting us as a community? I worry about that. But circling back to the internet, I think that in a few years, I would say maybe five or ten, we're going to see more laws with the internet. I hope so. Yeah. People have had, I mean, you know, we've talked about this before, but like I know, like you said, fans, you could have a fan and you could have a hater. And it's like, of course, the haters can the it's a greater amount of people that love you for sure. Yeah. It's just some loud. But it's just like the passionate negativity. Yeah. How do you find that? I I think it's one of those like monkey don't see you don't hear vibes. Yeah. Yeah. If you look like I don't want to know about it. I'm just it's happening. Yeah. Yeah. You know, there's a, there's a community. There's a community. There's a community. There's a small town. They should do a link up or our small village, but yours got a little bit scarier at some point. Like they were stalking you and finding things out about you. Yeah. So that's like another scary level, which I'm sure like is probably a reason why it affected you to maybe share it last. Yeah. And again, your home and yeah, my address has been posted online before, which I don't know. I also think that I don't even talk about this that much because I do also think that it's not fair, but like life's not fair. And like every job has a set of issues. And I'm choosing this job in this life. And there are so many issues and problems that I have across the board. But I could go get another job. Yeah. You could be a social media. I could do a lot of social media for friends. I could do a lot of other things. I just think like obviously the world would be a better, safer place with less crazy people in general. But yeah, even, you know, I love to talk about like salacious, like drama, reality TV. Yeah. And I love talking about it in the way of like T fun, you know, and then I'll get into those algorithms of people that are like, you know, and you're like, no, not the five that I'm talking about like, yeah, when I started, it was like, let's talk about these things in this about pop culture when I started this in 2020. But in the like, oh my god. Can you believe that? Yeah, yeah. You also think that you like our generation, where accounts like yours, where you guys are actually using like real, it's more journalism. Like in the sense of you're actually, have you ethics when you talk about other people? Like you're not just going on and I think it's not even ethics. It's literally just like a moral. It's just like, like you would never go on and like completely trash, no, no, because I also care. Right. But you were never told that. Right. I think it's like a new generation thing. Like the lack of because I think the new generation, like you said, is like clickbait. Yeah. It's like, I don't care about you as a human being, but this getting a lot of views and likes. Yeah. Yeah. And I think and I've said this from the beginning of like doing this, like you got to do it because you love it. Yeah. I do. Yeah. And that's like the thing that I like always come back to you like, I love what I do. I love my job. I've loved my career as an influencer. I've now loved my career as a business owner, like no one's ever been able to like take that away from me no matter what. And I've literally seen everything under the sunset about me and they've never like ruined anything. I feel like you have tough skin. Yeah. Right. Well, no, I'm actually quite sensitive because I want to be loved because I love big. Yeah. So I want that big love back, which I think is another thing that I like love about myself that it, I wouldn't want to replace that, but I've grown, I've grown tough skin. You've grown tougher skin. It's interesting. I also think that because my brand is dairy boy is so big now that it, it's like, okay, like I have my dream house, my dream husband, like your dream, like life. Yeah. Very close family, I've such an amazing life that I'm sort of just like now that stuff doesn't hurt as much, but I think when you're kind of grinding it out and you're finding yourself. And like that's your most, like not like I get what you're saying, like, my currency isn't whether people love her. Right. Don't love me anymore. Which used to be, it used to be the only thing and now you have so much going on. Yeah. Well, I'm so happy for you. Thank you. And speaking of like again, about how long I followed you is like, I remember the like day of like, I'm drinking a regular milk, like you think I'm in there. And like people are saying dairy boy now doing so well, you know, but I, I literally for people that followed you along the way from the beginning, like I remember the day you were just like everyone's drinking. Yeah. It was a crazy time. Everyone's drinking almond milk. That was the peak of influencer fitness. Was that scary though then to be like, I mean, not that it's like a cancelable thing. But to be like drink milk from cows, you know, like were you getting a backlash or people were like, the only thing that I got was people saying that the dairy industry was cruel, which I also understand. Like, I mean, there's again, every industry has its bad people and that was the only thing I got. But it was really honestly way more positive. Do you milk cows? No. I mean, I have before. Okay. This childhood friends growing up has a dairy farm and I grew up going to school in Vermont. So right. I just was around a lot of farms in general, but I have milk to cow. But I don't have cows. But yeah, it was definitely like, what do they call it like disruptive when you know? Or like, we're like, I drink milk from cows, you know. And I think that that has always been the way that I like using my platform for in like ways that are like serious, but also on serious. Yeah. Like that was very unserious and it started as March. Yeah. Because people were just like, I want to have with this on it. Right. Yeah. That's crazy. But yeah, it was serious, but it was unserious and it was like this inside joke with my community. And then it became a whole brand. I already had the mood board. It was called Choplar. friends. So I had this account for a long time and then I basically started selling the hats on this. It was all, I remember you would post the like Shopify sales. Oh yeah. Do you sell do that? I don't know. It's just like I need to be more humble than that. But I used to not be humble. I used to be like, my computer is crashing. Actually, like yeah, I was like good marketing too. It was. I think people were like, why do people care so much about this? I want to care. I should care. Yeah. Yeah. No, I love that so much. I also think I a little bit like back in the day was trying to prove myself to myself and to everyone else. Right. Like, yes. Look, like I'm doing it. Like I'm popular. People love me. I feel less like that now. We'll be right back after the break. Okay. So most of us picked to bank it like 16. And for me, it was really like a childhood dream that I was accomplishing. And I think when my family, my grandparents, sold their house and we couldn't keep it, I think I made a promise to myself that I was gonna work hard enough to find my way back and earn my way back, I guess. 'Cause places like Nantucket are, it's really expensive. It's really hard to own a home there. Very expensive to even rent for a week. You have to rent Saturday to Saturday. - You have to rent like the fall day one day. - Yeah, it's so unaffordable. It's expensive to get there. It is just the most expensive place, like ever. - You'll wanna buy it back even though you have the store there, you still do? - Yeah, yeah, it's my childhood dream. - Like if it ever gets listed, you'll know about it. - Yeah, it's wild. It is now worth so much money. They bought it for like nothing. - Are they like, ah, that's my hard to reconcile. - Yeah, I mean, a lot of, it happens to a lot of families. And I think that in a lot of these, you know, generationally wealthy places, a lot of people get pushed out and it happens all the time. - Well, since you brought up Nantucket, just for a second, I wasn't in that. - Yeah. - Nantucket drama. - But you saw it. - I saw it. - You couldn't miss it. I couldn't miss it, but I was also like, I, right. So a Nantucket quarterboard for those who don't know is a beautiful, historic, inspired little sign. It's a very New England coastal thing. And a lot of the houses are named things and they're usually like a play on words. Like fun, they can be like funny or silly or like an inside joke. Sort of how you would name a boat. - Okay. - But you know, it's like kind of like a play on words. - Right. - And this, this store put up a quarterboard that said no influencers. And I, it's, I saw it in person on my way to work and I laughed at it. I said, what? Like, is this real? I thought it was actually like, I laughed. And I was sort of like, what the fuck? I was like, but laughing, what the fuck? - Yeah. - Took a picture of it, walked in, took a picture of it, kept going to work, sent it to all my friends. And then somewhere between the store and my store, I was sort of like, is this funny? (laughing) Like, is this funny? - Or is it not? - Or is it not? - Yeah. - And I still have that feeling and-- - Were you gonna post it or not? - No, no, no. - So you didn't post you just commentate? - Well, no, so I wasn't gonna say anything or do anything. I just took a picture of it as a lot of other people did and was like, oh, whenever. And then it was like a week later, I saw it starting to go viral on Instagram. And then I was like, oh, the sign that I already saw. And open the comments and I just saw this conversation about creators and about who gets, I guess, people deciding and the thousands of people deciding who got to belong on Nantucket, and how people view the creator Academy in general. And I didn't think it was gonna become this whole conversation. The things that happen on Nantucket usually stay on Nantucket, it's a very smile and-- - But they posted it. - They posted it. - They also posted it. - Yeah, and that is, honestly, it was like a real moment 'cause I don't usually comment on things anymore at all. Like, I try to like, you know, again, things, conversations lack such nuance now that I really was not gonna comment on it. And my gut reaction of being someone who couldn't hold on to their childhood home, I felt like I earned my way back. I'd open the store, it's been doing so well. I've, you know, it was personal to me. 'Cause it's this place that I love and 'cause it's this store that I used to go in with my grandmother who's like no longer with us. I was like, we, we, you know, like, and then the comments. Honestly, what the comments were hateful? - All, that is why I comment on it. - Or like influencers, other words. - It nests you than that. If the comments below the sign weren't what they were, I wouldn't have said anything. - Got you. - 'Cause the sign, like, I knew that it was a joke. - Yeah. - I think it's a bad joke, but that's my own opinion. Jokes are meant to be interpreted by the person. And I think that hopefully we can all, as people who are in this industry, work harder to demand that respect and to show people, not tell people who we are, how we can act in public. I've answered 700 texts, I'm running around, I have 900 things to do. Give me a little something, preferably something that includes caffeine and sugar. Lately, that has been a Starbucks Frappuccino drink. I love having them cold in the fridge because it's coffee, but it's also a treat, it's creamy, it's sweet, it's delicious, it's basically that little moment where I'm like, okay, everyone leave me alone, okay, for five minutes. I'm having my thing. Listen, warnings in my house are obviously not calma, okay? I'm not waking up journaling and meditating, okay? I'm waking up and I need something into my veins. Having a Starbucks Frappuccino drink ready to grab from the fridge is just, that was a chef's kiss and it's easy, it's coffee, it's indulgence, starting the day on track. I love finding these little moments of joy, okay? Because sometimes, the little moments are what count. And in some days, that's all you're getting, okay? It doesn't have to be that deep. Sometimes it's literally just a cold creamy Starbucks wrap a chino drink to make you feel like you're at home. Find bottled Starbucks Frappuccino drinks wherever you buy your gas or groceries. Another thing I'm obsessed with, you can find them anywhere, ah, what a dream. And we're back. Another thing that I loved about your wedding is no bridal shower, which is a very American thing. Is it? Yeah, I feel like in other countries, people love it. No, no bridal showers America. Yes, like the thousand things. By the way, when you have a baby too. Yes, I actually, I was talking to my mom about this. I think baby showers are amazing. Bridal showers? They're like, "Young, get me wrong, I want a baby shower." I just think it's so, yeah, like, and what I also love about baby showers is it's like your mom's friends. Like it's like family. Like you could, yeah. Yeah, like my sisters had like a ton of my mom's friends and grandparents and like older people and younger people and celebrating like a new life. I think also a way to get some gifts are things that are really expensive for moms. I think it's a really sweet time to feel celebrated and supported. So what's a bridal shower supposed to do? That this is the thing. We now have an engagement and then there's usually something the night of the engagement if your friends are there, whatever. And then you have an engagement party and then you have a bridal shower and then you have a bachelorette and then you have-- Did you do a rehearsal dinner? Yes. Okay, and then you have that. And then you have the wedding. It is, we have lost our goddamn mind. Yeah, yeah. No, it's insane. What did you say no to your friends? Like do they want to-- They really wanted to do a bridal shower and I said, I was like, I really don't want to do this. And I thought it was so sweet that they wanted to do that for me. But they were happy when-- Like they wanted to do what I wanted to do. Yeah. I just think weddings now like inconvenience people so much and it costs so much money to like attend weddings. Yeah. And that's honestly why I chose the venue that I chose because people could Uber and sleep at their own-- Amazing. Because most of my people are in the East Coast on New York. So people, if they wanted to, could sleep in their own bed. Yeah, it was Long Island. It was Long Island. And it was on a Tuesday because of the tennis tour. 'Cause of the tennis schedule. I would not have had a Tuesday wedding. Although people are like, so chic. She had a Tuesday wedding like that's so chic. Go guys, I didn't want a Tuesday wedding. Thank you. It was either that's really chic or that's really rude. Oh, when people think it's chic is it because it's like, she's not doing the obvious weekend. Also does I think like, wow, you must have a lot of people who don't have like normal. Like it's so chic. Like it's-- And also like the trend that's like-- So I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be a hater. But like-- It's so chic when-- I know, I don't hate that trend. Oh, sorry, like we're ruining these words. We're ruining yellow tags. We're ruining-- Guys, we're ruining it. You would never do yellow tags. What's yellow tags? Oh, we got everyone's doing yellow tags. But really? That's so chic is probably written in the yellow letters. Oh, it's just like things are in yellow. Things are in yellow. Because it's like cinematic. Because like a lot of the subtitles used to be yellow. And maybe. I'm not on that weight. But oh, my god, that's the wave. Oh, chic, the chic thing, and yellow. Guys, honestly though, maybe answers are the worst. By the way, like-- Maybe the navy influencers do solve the way I feel like if I did see the real, the whoever said kind of chic on a Tuesday. It'd be like, yeah, yeah, she's saying like-- I'd be like, fuck a fucking sweet wedding. You know me? Like, you know? I think, yeah, people really took-- So Tuesday because of-- Oh, Wimbledon is now? Wimbledon was the weekend, the final was the weekend before the Tuesday. OK, so we have to talk about-- because we're almost fucking done-- the wag live. Yeah. Do you hate that word? No. OK. No. Women. What is it? Wives and girlfriend. Oh, wives and girlfriend. And now you're a wife. Now you're a wife. Insufferable. Yeah. So do you not hate the word? No. Really? No. Explain. How do you have positive relationship? Why would anyone hate-- Like, if you hate that word, then like, no, because maybe it's like putting you as somebody's something. But I feel like you don't have that relationship with it anyway, because I feel like you've really enjoyed being-- Wait, but by the way, if a woman wants to follow around her man and support him and not have a job, OK? Yeah. That's that woman's life. Yeah. Like, I just think we should stop-- I'm doing both. Yeah. But even if I wasn't, like, OK, someone is dating a professional athlete and that's their name. But I think it's like derogatory because it's a woman. Like, I think any of these words, influencer or wag, it's because it's like, it's a lot of-- Like, you don't hear people being like hags. There's a lot of husbands of female professional athletes. By the way, there are husbands of successful women. My husband's a hag. Right. You have to use a hag to make a hag. Are you sure? A hag, sure. Tommy's also a hag. A hag. Like, why don't we talk about hags? Hacks. Hacks. Maybe that was so good. Yeah. But you know what I'm saying? Like, the only reason why there's any negative connotations because it's a woman. I feel like you're in this new feminist era that I love for you. I am. I am. Like, you really are. It's not intentional, though. No, but I think it really is lovely that you are viewing it that way. Yeah. I feel like a lot of people don't want it. Like, they wouldn't want that word associated or they wouldn't want it. It's like, I have my own thing. Yeah. I have my own thing. But I love his thing. And by the way, when I do speak up about, you know, anything about my experience as a woman and which all of ours is very different, I mean, even then, I think, I mean, people, you'll never like win in that sense, but I'm just going to keep speaking up, you know, in more like conversations, I do a lot of, like, this stuff and talk about this stuff more like in my private life, like how the hagg thing, like I've never told anyone that, but that's what I think. Oh, this is, you didn't just make it up, you've thought about haggs before today. Well, I've just thought about, I've never said this out loud, but I've thought about that there are a lot of husbands, a professional athletes. Yeah. There's a whole woman's tennis tour with husbands in the box. Yeah. The wives and the girlfriends get, you know, it's just, it's more of a negative connotation because it's a woman. But I feel like it also does have a really positive connotation of like really glam, really chic, really fashion. How did you like enter that world? Like you start dating Tommy, is he like, want to come to a gate? Like do you care? Like how does that work? We like barely knew each other. I was like, he was asking me to his matches. And did you enjoy it right away? I loved it. I loved it. I loved it. I was a ski racer, so it was like, I was an individual athlete. So I think seeing, and I've never followed tennis and I didn't know much about it. Seeing another individual sport like that, I immediately fell in love. I was just like, this is the coolest sport. Do you ever like, I want to play? Yeah. Okay. Of course. Like you're like, in another life, I could have been. 100% I don't know why I picked a ski racing, it's the coldest, like what was like fucking thinking? No, it's insane. I talk about this all the time. Like flying down a mountain in a spandex suit, freezing my ass off, grind, aggrined, but it's definitely like made me a dog. Like I am the way I am because I like froze my ass off at the top of a mountain. Right. Like that was no fucking joke. Right. Also falling and like falling on yourself, you're like downhill ski racing. Was your goal then? I know. Like when you were doing the ski stuff, to go to the Olympics, we're staying. Yeah, that's always the goal. That's the goal. When you're younger, yeah. It was a better, younger skier than I was like in high school. Like my junior was really good, like when I was smaller and younger. And then throughout high school, it was pretty clear that I like did not have what it took, like got you. Yeah, so you stood out for the younger. I was a really good younger skieracer and then as I got older, I think I also just had other interests. So I just got like worse, but it was very clear by sophomore year of high school that I did not have what it took. Did you were do you remember being like upset about it or I was so fucking cold that I was like honestly good Great. I gotta go. I'm gonna like I gotta go. Can I go to the warm? Yeah, like I have like a cocktail and like this is really a lot Do you like watching other players play or only I like a true sport? Oh now you're like You're like into it. Oh, obsessed. It's addictive. It is you can get into it Oh, yeah, like the fandom around tennis is really intense because similar to f1 you're following people Right, and then you see it's almost like this is a sinacillate, but like it's not like Pokemon But it's sort of like you've like two people that like come together Yeah, and then you're like with very different personalities that both come out And then I think people just like love the different match-ups Does Tommy have a ritual like I love there. There's so many of them that do right like yeah They're very like it's a very superstitious more right superstitious. They have like he's less superstitious Okay, I mean I know some players like have to eat Like listen to the same music, right. He's not really like that. Do you have that on game day for him like I'll wear them lucky I'm very like I view tennis a very certain way. I Show up expecting nothing like I don't ever go into a match Thinking he's gonna win or lose. I'm just there to support him. I treat him the same pretty much if he wins or loses What do you mean like obviously when he wins? I'm like Excited for him right got you I really try to keep it Like even killed yeah, I want to be like his rock and I think that it's not my place in his life To give him any other We're like damn you could have yeah, and it's but it's very easy to become emotionally invested like a lot of other tennis girlfriends and wives I've talked to that it's it's it becomes your life and I think especially if you are traveling with them full-time You feel like when they lose you lose right and when they win you win and I think that's unhealthy and I think for me at least That was not something that in the beginning it was sort of like that and I think it's such a emotionally Taxing sport to watch and then be a part of that closely which a lot of people might not know How do you cheer him up if he lost just like love him? Yeah, just love on him And like I should have done this or you like like they're also there I always tell him there's so many matches in a year. There's a tournament every week. So wow I'm like our break not really. There's like three weeks in the winter Wow, I'm like onto the next one babe like you onto the next one which is sort of like a It's it's a horrible but beautiful part of the sport. There are so many tennis tournaments. Right. How do you decide which ones you go to? I go to the ones that honestly work with my schedule now Which he's like when you're like when you're available. Yeah, and obviously like there's some tournaments He tells me that he needs to be at more. Yeah, like if he's mentally feeling tired or needs a little bit more like support on the road I go or if it's like a really fancy one that yeah Yeah, but honestly like regardless of the aesthetic like I'm choosing to make my schedule and go to the ones that he feels like he needs more support at And obviously like the US open right You're gonna go and Wimbledon. I love but I have a very healthy relationship with tennis and I think that I try to be a Positive contribution to his team because I'm a part of this journey on a very like a short a short amount compared to like his whole career Right, and I think that all I want to do is bring something to the table and that's sort of how I view like life Like I want to bring some things to the table to his tennis to our relationship To work to anything I do like if I'm not adding value. I don't really want to be there What about the picture of you guys with the trophy? Oh, yeah, I'm obsessed with that By the way, when something like this happens. Yeah, like that that is sort of like talked about a lot of it I am making more jokes than anyone. I'm like ripping myself really? Yeah That whole week after like I was clawing the fuck out of his neck I we were like making so many jokes about it But I've learned as I've gotten older like I have to show that side on social media because I think that they might think that you're just like I'm not that fucking serious. What are we talking about? Yeah, also like the knowing you explain a little bit what what happened? Yeah, I tell me want to tournament Queens, which is like a really beautiful tournament is huge trophy and in the UK The reporters are very intense and like the paparazzi and like daily mail is very Mm-hmm the very vocal and the right page kiss him You know grab like grab like hold on to him and I was like very overstimulated By the way, what have done this over simulated or not? I'll claw the fuck out of that man Like that's my fucking man would do it all again cannot wait by the way for him to win another tournament because I'm gonna do it I'm gonna again. I want to think about these. I'm gonna double the fun round two I'm gonna double down, but it was like very overstimulating the British press was like tell it over and By the way a lot of people were saying that wives of and girlfriends of tennis players don't pose with trophies like this That's not true. You can look up all like couple tennis players They like they were like hold the trophy with him whatever was doing it love those photos and then Like the last few round of photos. There was this really awkward angle where I was sort of like grabbing onto his neck and like posing and It was just like this funny photo and video when viral everyone was like holy shit She's calling the fuck out of his neck making the whole thing about her death grip. I'm like Yeah, like if you see a hot talking like Baby you're lucky. I wasn't like choking him out like yeah Please, please, but I shouldn't made a joke about it because I think that you didn't I didn't you didn't say anything Do you post the photo? No, but I posted photos. Yeah, yeah, I also think if that hadn't happened in in like the UK It wouldn't have been as big of a thing the British media just like I mean we've seen what they've done to make a mark Right, but it would be funny if you posted the photo and you even you know what I said? I wanted to do it. I pissed at myself that I didn't do we were gonna get Tommy a neck brace the day after And like put the neck brace on him and take a photo together being like wait No missed no, it's really upsetting. You know, and you like leave something and you're like I should have a totally yeah But I think I vote for all the things that you're doing big things and all the continued success, but I love the idea of sprinkling in Top part of you. Yeah, I know. Yeah, I think it's hard when I love honestly. Maybe you could give me some advice like I love I think I view Instagram as like a digital magazine where like I'm the editor of it right and I love Posting like beautiful things. I know and the necklace just won't go You're like it won't go with the baby like it would have like I don't know how to like Because I don't have a podcast and I like a YouTube. It's also like my home life and it's more home-making like I don't know what platform I was like when I'm about to crack a joke or just doing funny. I'm not like right. Okay. Like that's now to crack the Joe By the way, that's the other thing. I love that I saw that you you didn't like have your engagement filmed really right You didn't have like phones out and everything. So I love that normal. Yeah, like I also don't like filming a lot of stuff Like I like having a real life. Yeah, yeah, it's just weird like if I had a reality show or a podcast I think people would know more about like who I really am But I don't have those platforms. So like I've just like set up a tripod and like fucking like crack a joke It's tough right the tripod. Maybe I need a podcast. Okay, before we go biggest pinch me moment of Everything yeah, that's happened so far is there one okay, we're gonna put my wedding aside because I know it's like so fucking boring Yeah, yeah, like okay. Yeah, like great. No one cares opening a store and I'm talking. Mm-hmm. I mean like I am constantly moving the Goldpost My own success in my career, which is sort of really exhausting for everyone around me I rarely take a moment to like celebrate Accomplishments. Oh, that is it. It's really exhausting. I need I need to work on it and I think that that store my parents there Is like a photo of my grandparents on the wall and like we had to sign up like the house sign the quarter board for my grandparents house And just like how beautiful the store is how popular the store has been like I can't believe it And it is like truly the thing that I am so proud of and I think that that Opening the store right before my wedding was like very pivotal for me. Mm-hmm It's like a real place that I can go and meet people and it's a beautiful store our clothes are high quality. They're affordable Like it is truly like I feel like even when I get criticism About anything. I'm like, okay Well, I've been the most insane beautiful store in Antarctica full of like the things I'm most proud of It's like what the fuck could you say to me? You're like that's your dream come true right there It's like physical and tangible. I needed that. Yeah, I needed that in-person thing Yeah, and I think that also I needed to like meet people in person and I'm spending a lot of time in the store I'm I'm there and I'm meeting people and it's just been very grounding for me. That's amazing Yeah, so how do people know when you're gonna be there? Do they do they kind of just pop up? You pop up, but if you see me like a story flying down into Nantucka You could probably guess I'll like be there But I did for like me to tie die event and I said I was gonna be there and I tied I'd with the girls It was really fun.
