Speaker 1Your name be exalted. Dear Jesus, tonight we are open unto you. Father, dispense unto us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. Cause the eyes of our understanding to be enlightened, to know what is the hope of his calling and what the riches of the glory of your inheritance they say. And tonight we receive the engrafted word of God which is able to save ourselves. Blessed Holy Spirit, thank you for brooding upon us and moving amongst us. Blessed Holy Ghost, this meeting is in your hands. Have your way and have prayer in your hands. Thank you for feeding us. We bless and praise your holy name. In Jesus' name, the Son of God.
Speaker 2Amen. Amen. Hallelujah.
Speaker 1Alright, I'm speaking on the eternal bond servant. Praise God. Now I'm speaking about Jesus Christ. Jesus is a servant. But Jesus, our Lord, is a servant forever according to the scriptures. That is why I've named my message the eternal bond servant. Can you say that after me? The eternal bond servant. That's Jesus Christ, the eternal bond servant. When I say eternal, Jesus, you know Jesus, our Lord, came to this earth as a servant. In Mark 10, 20, verse 28, he said, even as the Son of Man came, not to minister or not to serve, not to be served, but to serve and to give his life a ransom for many. So Jesus came, our Lord came to serve. But the truth is that he came to serve in the past. And I'm here to show you that even presently, he's servant. And in the future, he will serve. So characteristically, our Lord Jesus Christ is a servant forever. Praise God. Are you here with me? The reason I'm talking about Jesus is that if you are in love with Jesus, you'll want to know more about the one you are in love with. True or false? Everyone loves to hear about his wife or the husband or anyone you are in love with. And the more you see Jesus, the more you become like him. Praise God. Spiritual advancement comes by beholding. The more you see, the more you become. The Bible says we all beholding us in a glass, the glory of God. We are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even us by the Spirit of the Lord. In 2 Corinthians 3, verse 18. So the more you see Jesus, the more you see him, you are transformed to be like him. Praise God. So in this conference, as we talk about servanthood, the ultimate servant is our Lord Jesus Christ. As you see his perfection, his excellencies, you just have to, and we see him through the word. As you see him, there is impartation. I'm telling you, you will see the strength, the empowerment, the impartation to be the same. Yeah. As you see him, God's intention was for us to conform to the image of his son. Praise God. Praise God. Praise God. Praise God. Praise God. He did foreknow, he did also predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Romans 8, 29. So that is God's intention, for us to be conformed to his son. Yeah. And as you see him, sometimes in Christianity, we try to do something and it's difficult to become. You hear something and you try to reproduce it, it is difficult. But the quickest way is to behold. The more you see him, the more you behold him. We are transformed to be like him. So tonight, I want us to just see the wonders of the eternal servant. Jesus is the eternal servant. Not just an ordinary servant, but a born servant. Praise God. All right. Turn with me to the book of Philippians, chapter 2, from verse 5. Philippians 2, verse 5. Let this mind. Be in you, which also was in Christ Jesus, which was also in Christ Jesus. The next verse, verse 6. Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made. In likeness of man. And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Hallelujah. There are two things here I want you to take notice. The Bible says, who being in the form of God. Now, Jesus, who being in the form of God, verse 6. Then we see another expression, he took the form of a servant. He was in the form of God, but he took the form of a servant. Isn't that amazing? Now, who being in the form of God, I like that. Now, that's King James. Literally, it means who eternally existed as God, because Jesus is God. He eternally existed as God. Jesus is a very good of very God. He is God. Who being in the form of God. He taught it not robbery to be equal with God. For information, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, they are equal. They are co-equal. Hallelujah. Jesus and God, they are equal. The Bible says, he taught it not robbery to be equal with God. You see, the word equal in this verse is from the Greek word isos. We spell it I-S-O-S. Do you remember? I-S-O-C-I-L-A-S-T-R-I-A-N-G-U-L. I-S-O-C-I-L-A-S-T-R-I-A-N-G-U-L, two equal parts. I-S-O-C-I-L-A-S-T-R-I-A-N-G-U-L means two equal parts. So, the word equal here, the Father and the Son are equal. Jesus is God. He is God. The Bible says that who being in the form of God taught it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation. That's amazing. No, even human beings, we want reputation. Everybody likes reputation. But he made himself of no reputation. What it means is that he emptied himself. He emptied himself. Let me give an example. Assuming we have the King of England come to Ghana. Or let's say, O-Toon-Fo come to Accra. And if you see. The King, you know this is the King. By the way they are robed, by the way they are garmented, the way they are dressed, you can see this is the King. But assuming that the King, instead of coming in that royal pageantry and regalia, and the King now decides to dress like a slave. The King now enters the room, dresses like a slave, and comes out to town and starts working as a slave. That's what I'm talking about. So Jesus, though he is God, veiled his glory and took on humanity and came as a servant. And the word servant here is doulos. I mean the lowest class of servants. Actually the word is slave. So he came as a slave. So he disrobed, veiled his glory, and that's how he came amongst us. You can see the King of England scrubbing the gutter somewhere. If you are not told, you will never know. But the King of kings did that. Now he made himself of no reputation. That's Jesus. Now do you know who Jesus is? In John 1:3, all things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made. That's Jesus. In John 1:10, he was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. So this is the Creator I'm talking about. Jesus is the Creator. Now in Colossians 1:17, he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Literally, by him all things are held together. You know, Jesus is the principle of cohesion in the universe. Everything is held together by Jesus. The earth is hanging, it doesn't fall. The sun is hanging. All these stars are hanging, they don't fall. There's one that is holding them. He is the one who outshines them. He is the one who upholds all things by the word of his power. That's Jesus. Now in Psalm 33:6, For by the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all the starry host, breath of his mouth. You know how the stars came into being? Jesus. Jesus is the word of God. And all the stars came into being. You know how great he is. All the stars came into being. Now this sun you see, sometimes you can't even cover the sun with a Bible. This sun is 1,300,000 times bigger than the earth. Science tells us that the difference between the earth and the sun is approximately the difference between one grain of sand and an orange. So put an orange here and just a grain of sand. Compare the size. That is the earth and the sun. The earth is so small that you can't even find it on the Mercury galaxy. It is like trying to search for this microphone on the continent of Africa. That's how little the earth is. Yet the creator condescended himself into his creation through the womb of a woman, Mary, to come to the earth. And with that controversy, great is the mystery of godliness. For God come as a man. Oh, we will spend all of eternity wondering, what mystery is this? What wonder is this? That he took the form, the outward expression of a servant. Praise God. That's Jesus. Who being in the form of God, taught it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation. He emptied himself. No reputation. Can you imagine? The more you see Jesus, no reputation. You can walk with that mindset. Because it says, let this mind. It's a kind of mental programming. Let this mind be in you. It's a kind of mindset. Hallelujah. So our Lord Jesus came to serve. He came to serve. He is God, but he came as a servant and took the lowliest place of a slave and walked amongst us. That's a wonder of the ages. But tonight, I want to show you how that Jesus was a servant in the past. He's still a servant in the present and he will still be a servant in the future. According to the scriptures. So he's an eternal born servant. Praise God. So first of all, let's consider how he served in the past. Let's go to the book of Exodus, chapter 21. We read the first six verses, one to six. Exodus chapter 21. Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them. If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve, and in the seventh year, in the seventh he shall go out free from nothing. If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he were married, then his wife shall go out with him. If his master have given him a wife and she have borne him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her masters and he shall go out by himself. And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife and my children, I will not go out free. Then his master shall bring him unto the judges, and he shall also bring him to the door and unto the doorpost. And his master shall bore his year through with an oar, and he shall serve him forever. Praise God. Today's a wonderful story in the Old Testament, and the Bible tells us that if a master has a servant, you know, the servant's seventh year, the servant is supposed to serve his master for six years. The seventh year was the year of release. For the seventh year, you are not supposed to serve. According to God's judgment, the seventh year was the year of release, so he has to go free on the seventh year. But in the seventh, loves his master and loves his wife and children. That is, if he had children and his master gave him his wife, okay, if his master gave him his wife and he has children and he loves his master, that means his master must be very good. For a slave to love his master is something else. He loves his master, then he loves his wife, then he loves his children. Then the slave will say, I don't want to go. I forfeit my freedom. So what I want to do is that I want to serve him forever. Then they will send him before the judges, and they will take an oar and pierce through his ear and make an opening in his ear. And that means that he's now a servant forever. He's now going to serve his master forever. Now at this time, he has become a born slave, a born servant. He's not just a regular servant. Better still, I can call him, he's now a love slave. He's now a love slave, a born servant. Because previously he was bought and he served for six years. Now he had his will and freedom to go out. But he made a choice on the basis of love to stay in the house to serve his master. So he becomes a love slave. And that would be a very wonderful moment because his wife would love him more. Because any time his wife sees the opening in the ear, his wife knows that you are here because of love. So you stay because you love me. Any time his children see his ear, they will appreciate him more. Because when they see the opening, they'll go like, now we know you love us more. And his master also loved him because he chose love. And because he's staying to serve because of love. That was the order at the ordinance in the Old Testament. Praise God. When the ear was pierced, there was an opening. It was figurative. It implied that my whole body is now given to my master to serve his cause. I only hear his voice and my whole body is given to him to serve his cause. Hallelujah. Now, why was this written? Now, to understand the Bible, the highest way to see the Scriptures is to see everything in the light of Jesus. You know, the Old Testament or the Scripture itself is all about the revelation of Jesus Christ. Praise God. One day, Jesus said, Search ye the Scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are they that testify of me. John 5.39. It says, they are they that testify of me. The Scriptures are a testimony of Jesus Christ. John 5.39. When the Lord Jesus rose up, the same day he rose up from the dead, there were two guys walking seven miles down to Emmaus from Jerusalem. And Jesus just drew near to them. Got them in conversation. I know you know that story. And Jesus began to preach to them. Now, Christ began to preach Christ to them. Can you imagine hearing the first resurrection sermon, the first sermon from the resurrection? They said, did not our heart bend within us? So the Bible says, and beginning at Moses, and in all the prophets, he expanded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. Luke 24 verse 27. So when Jesus was preaching them, and beginning at Moses, and in all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the Scriptures what? The things concerning himself. Moses here is the five books of Moses. So Jesus began to preach from Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, and they are all about himself. Jesus was preaching to them that I am the burnt offering. I am the green offering. I am the sun offering. I am the trespass offering. He was revealing that whatever is in the Old Testament, he is actually the picture, the fulfillment of everything. So Christ was preaching Christ. Hallelujah. I believe when Jesus came to Exodus 21, Jesus says, I am that servant. Yeah. In the Old Testament, we have types and shadows, but the fulfillment is in Christ. The Bible says in Colossians 2.16, Let no man therefore judge you in meat and in drink, or in respect to an holy day, or the new moon, or the Sabbath, which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is Christ, or the substance is Christ. So Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of all the shadows in the Old Testament. Praise God. He is the fulfillment. So, I want us to see Exodus 21 in the light of Jesus Christ. Because he is the sum in the substance of Scripture. He is the testimony of Scripture. Now, Exodus 21 is about Jesus. And I told you, the Scripture says that if the servant is willing to serve his master forever, they just have to pierce his ear. So the piercing of the ear actually means he has become a last leaf to serve forever. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. How do we know that this is about Jesus Christ? Psalm 40. The book of Psalms, 40, verse 6. Sacrifice and offerings thou didst not desire. My knees thou hast opened. Bent offering and sin offering thou hast not required. Do you have the God's word version? The God's word version. You were not pleased with sacrifice and offerings. You have dug out two ears for me. Praise God. All right, you have dug out two ears for me. Back to King James. You see, when the ear is pierced, there's an opening. So King James says, my ears will have opened. There's an opening when it is pierced. All right. The margin actually says, my ears you have pierced. You read from different versions. The Septuagint says, my ears you have pierced. Other version says, my ears you have digged. Now, who is the sum? Who is he talking about? This is the sum of David. But it's Messianic. It's about Jesus Christ. Now, look at verse 7. I'll show you verse 7. Verse 7. Then said I, lo, I come. In the volume of the book it is written of me. Verse 8. I delight to do thy will, O God. Yea, thy law is within my heart. So this is not about David. This is Messianic. So from 6, 7, and 8. It says, my ears you have digged. Praise God. Amazingly, in Exodus, the slaves, they only dig one ear. But this one is plural. My ears you have digged. That means it speaks of intensity. To which Christ gave himself fully as a servant. He says, not just a year, but just dig both ears. All right. Let's see the fulfillment of this verse in the book of Hebrews. Hebrews chapter 10, verse 5. Hebrews 10, verse 5. Wherefore, when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not. But a body thou hast prepared me. The next verse. In bent offerings and sacrifices for sin, thou hast had no pleasure. The next verse. In the volume of the book, it is written of me to do thy will, O God. Have you seen that this is just a replay of the book of Psalms? Praise God. This is a quotation from the book of Psalms. But there is a little twist here that I want us to see. There is a little twist here. That is in verse 5. Let's go to verse 5. In Psalms it says, my ears you have opened, or my ears you have pierced. But, now the Holy Ghost is telling us something different. There is a difference here. This verse is, but a body has thou prepared me. What does it mean? A body has thou prepared me. I told you that the piercing of the ear was figurative. When your ear is pierced, that means that your body is going to be used for service. In the Old Testament, the piercing of the ear is figurative. But in the New Testament, he used the word body. It's literal. So, the New Testament is given us in literal terms. But the Old Testament is given us in figurative terms. Please do understand. For example. If I say that, if I say that, the employer employed many hands for his company. It's a synecdocheal expression where a part is used for the whole. The employer employed many hands for his company. Of course, it means he employed many people for his company. Hallelujah. So, the Old Testament says, his ear he did. But the New Testament says, a body has thou prepared me. What it means is that, the slave in the Old Testament, only his ear was digged. But in the New Testament, Jesus' body was going to be pierced. Both his hands, and his leg, and his side, and his heart was going to be pierced. Hallelujah. Now, Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of Exodus 21. Now, listen to me. When Jesus came to the earth, he came as a servant. And he paid his dues. He served very well. I'm telling you that, he cleansed the lepers, he healed the sick, he cared for little children, he even washed the feet of the disciples. He served fully. Now, listen. Before he died, Jesus had a choice to make. Listen. In John 17, he prayed and said, I have finished the work which thou givest me to do. I have finished. Jesus, if he wanted, he could have gone home and not died. And all of us would have been condemned. He could have gone home, because he paid his dues, did the work, he said, "I have finished." It was okay. But for him to go to the cross, he had to make a choice. He had to make a choice. And that is where Exodus 21 is fulfilled. Jesus had to say, "I've finished my work." But to go to the cross, for me to be pierced, I love my master, which is God. I love my wife, which is the church. I love my children, the individual Muslims. He loved all of us. And he gave himself to be pierced. And I'm telling you, once he gave himself to be pierced, he gave himself to be an eternal servant. Today, when we go to heaven, there is, the only man-made thing in heaven are his castes. And one shall say unto me, "What are these castes?" "What are these wounds?" They say, "These are the wounds I had in the house of my friends." In Zechariah chapter 13, verse 8. So, the castes he carries in heaven, when you go to heaven right now, Jesus has his castes. By his side, by his hands, he has been pierced. He's an eternal servant. He remains a servant forever. Hallelujah. Because of his love for us, because of his love for God, who is his master, and his love for the church, his wife, and his love for you, the indivisible, by his children, he gave himself unto death for him to be pierced. That is how he sent us in the past. Praise God. That's how he sent us in the past. So, Jesus is the fulfillment of the slave. He came as a slave and gave himself to his master. How does he serve in the present? How does he serve in the present day? Our Lord Jesus was on earth for how many years? He did ministry for three years, at least. But today, he has a continual ministry. Today, his present ministry is that he's the high priest. He's the Lord High Priest. Now, he's the Lord High Priest. Wherefore? Holy brethren. I take this as a heavenly calling. Consider the apostle and the high priest of our profession. Christ Jesus. Hebrews 3:1. He's the high priest of our confession. Now, in Hebrews 4:15 and 16, "Seeing then that we have such a great high priest who is passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us go to fast our profession. For we have not an high priest, which cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities, but was in all point tempted like us we are, yet without sin. He says, "It is our Lord High Priest." Hallelujah. How long has he served as the high priest? Almost 2,000 years. He's been serving as the high priest. But there's something I want to show you. The book of Revelation, chapter 1, Revelation 1, verse 30. But I want to read from verse 12, then we come to verse 30. Revelation chapter 1. John was in the island of Patmos, and he was speaking in a vision to heaven, and there's something wonderful he saw, I don't want you to miss that, concerning Jesus' present ministry and what he's doing. I tend to see the voice that speak with me, and being tamed, I saw seven golden candlesticks. Korabba, Mashankantala. And in the midst of the seven candlesticks. One like unto this, the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to foot, and gait above the paths with a golden girdle. Now I want you to study the description John gave our Lord Jesus Christ. He says he was clothed with a garment down to foot. That's how he saw him. He was clothed with a garment down to foot. Now the word garment here is the Greek word, kouderis. Kouderis. Now kouderis literally is a high priest garment. The high priestly garment. You see, when you read the Old Testament, the word kouderis literally means the high for the high priestly garment is Poderis. Poderis. In the Septuagint, Poderis. So, John saw Jesus in a garment dressed from top to foot. In the word garment is Poderis. Literally, he saw him as a high priest. In his high priestly garment. Where was he? Among the seven candlesticks. He's among the churches. He's still praying interceding for the churches. He's interceding for the churches. But there's something I wanted to say. And get about the paths with a golden girdle. Now, say after me, golden girdle. Golden girdle. So, just imagine Jesus. John now sees Jesus in heaven. And Jesus was dressed like a high priest, the Poderis. Now, he calls our attention to something very unique. He says, he was get about with a girdle. One more time, say girdle. What is this girdle? The word girdle here literally is the garb of a slave or the garb of a servant. Now, in those days when servants were serving, they used a girdle to tie their waist. Now, the girdle means strengthened for service. It also means ready to serve. And the very type, the same thing that was used by slaves to serve in those days when they were serving, they were women. John saw Jesus glorified and exalted in his high priest's ligament, but he was using the girdle of a slave. The girdle of a servant. That's such a mystery. Please, are you here with me? Servants were girded with this girdle. The Lord is exalted. He is glorified. Of all the things, see the scripture. The high priest's ligament is a lot. There could have been so many things he could have spoken about, but the only thing he spoke about was his girdle. Of all the descriptions, the only thing was the girdle. Because it was a girdle of a servant, of a slave. Do you know what I see? Who is Jesus? Remember, wherefore God also has highly exalted him and given him a name that is above him, the name of the Lord. He is the most exalted person in the universe. God has highly exalted him. In fact, the word highly exalted means he is exalted to the infinite height only deity possesses as a man. The highest, the most elevated position, he has been exalted. So although Jesus occupies the highest seat in the universe, he is still a servant. That's a mystery. Although Jesus has glorified him, he still has the garb of a slave. That's amazing. You can never say, I have outgrown service. You can never say, I'm now a high court judge, so I cannot be an usher. You can never say, I'm now a CEO, so I've outgrown sweeping the church. You can never say those things. You can never say, I'm promoted in life. Promotion does not take service away. Now Jesus is our literal example. The man is the most exalted person. Yet he gave us a visual aid. The man was still having the garb of a servant. Though glorified, yet he still serves. Though exalted, he still serves. Though elevated, he still serves. He still serves. So the more we see him, if this truth enters your heart, I'm telling you, pride will exit out. Pride will exit out. The Lord himself, the master himself, has the garb of a servant. But there's something that is wonderful here. Where do you put a girdle? You put it around your waist to fasten your dress. But mysteriously, because in the Old Testament, the high priest also had the girdle to show that he has to serve. It was around his waist. But when John saw Jesus, the girdle, which is to serve like a belt, a girdle, was not around his waist. It was around his breast, his palms. Different. Different. Even the position of where he was girded matters around his palms. He gives his palms. Breast. Breast stands for love and affection in the Bible. You know what he's saying? His service for you is born out of love and affection. The reason he's serving is because he loves you. It's born out of love and affection. There are people who are serving just because the pastor says they should serve. They are serving because the pastor has said so. But there's no love in it. They are serving maybe because of a kind of after motives. You know, a lot of things are inspiring them because of what they want and what they crave for. But it's not born out of love and affection. You see, Jesus, you may go like, for someone who is of such highest elevated, exalted position to serve, it's not common. It's not common. I'm assuming someone who is higher than you is serving you. You may be wondering, why is he doing that? Why is he doing that? But Jesus says that it's because I love you. It is born out of affection. It is around his breast, his palms. As I serve you, I feed you. Praise God. And I love, he says, the ghetto, it was a golden ghetto. Gold. Gold in the Bible stands for the divine nature. That was gold. Divine nature. That means, actually, Jesus serving is is the expression of who he is. It's his nature. That means the more you look like him, the more you will serve. That means to express, you can't express the divine nature without serving. You can't express the divine nature without serving. We are called to be partakers of the divine nature. So, how do we partake of the divine nature? He says, the ghetto is golden. Service is part of our nature. It's the nature of the Godhead. It is the community of the Godhead. They serve. They love to serve. Now, I'm telling you that you can never outgrow serving. The more you are maturing, the more serviceable you become. The more you are maturing, the more understanding you become. The more you are maturing, the more doubtful you become. Praise God. And if you have revelation, you serve with joy. You serve with joy. You are not serving with insecurity. You are not serving thinking that someone is looking down on you. If you are told to wash the toilet, you do it with revelation and with joy. Hallelujah. That's not what you serve. By revelation and with joy. That is why I'm saying, the more you see Jesus, the more you become like him. The more you behold him, you realize that to serve is even an opportunity. It's a privilege. It's a divine nature. When you are leaving the place of service, check your heart. You are being displaced. You are walking away from the fringes. You are walking away. Yeah. But if you are on fire, on fire, if love is burning in your heart, one characteristic is that you serve. Because the divine nature is service. Praise God. Praise God. You want to be more like God. The divine nature is expressed by serving the Lord himself, the highest himself. Jesus himself has the gap of his sleeve. Jesus himself, in the form of God, took the form of a servant. Makokalabasokatayeti. That we have the mind that he has. He says, let this mind be in you. Let this mind, may that mind be in you. May that mind be in you. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. It's all about the renewing of the mind. And we renew our mind with the word. He's still serving the churches. He's in the midst. The seven golden lampstands, candlesticks, are the churches. You know, Jesus is still serving us. I'm telling you, today he's still washing our feet. I'm telling you. He's still washing our feet. He's still washing our feet today. He has not stopped. Husbands, love the wise as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it. The past, that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. His present, that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water. The Greek says, the laver of water by the word. Today, he's still washing our feet every day. Whenever you sit on the word, Jesus is washing your feet. I'm telling you. This is wonderful. Are you in love with Jesus? Why are you not serving? You need to serve with joy and revelation. That's who he is. That's who he is. That's Jesus for you. If man despises you, praise the Lord. If someone looks down on you, praise the Lord. That is who the master is. Don't take your focus from the master. The Bible says, looking unto Jesus. The author and definition. Now, the Greek actually says, looking away unto Jesus. Look away from every kind of distraction unto Jesus. Look away, look away from man unto Jesus. The author and finisher of our faith. They looked unto him and they were lightened. And their faces were not ashamed. Hallelujah. When you look unto him, you become radiant. You will not be ashamed. The power to serve will come by beholding him. Because he serves out of love. I want you to leave this place. Serve Jesus out of love. Serve the ministry out of love. Serve one another out of love. Because it is out of affection for you. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Now, he's still serving. I want us to see how the book of Mark ended. Look at the book of Mark. Mark chapter 16, verses 19 and 20. Mark 16, 19 and 20. That is when Jesus had given the disciples a great commission. He was about to levitate. Heaven was about to receive him. So as he was speaking, the Bible says, So after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven and sat on the right hand of God. The next verse. And they went forth and preached every way. The Lord wakened with them. So he's still waking. The Lord wakened with them and confirmed their work with signs and wonders. Whenever you say in Jesus' name, Jesus is the one who performs the wonders. It is not you. You just say it and he does. That's it. So today he's still wakened amongst us. He's still wakened amongst us. That is his present day ministry. Let me show you another thing he's doing presently. So presently as a high priest, he's gathered and he's serving. Hebrews chapter 7. I want us to read 19 and 20. Hebrews 7, 19 and 20. Hebrews 6, 19 and 20, rather. Hebrews 6, 19 and 20. Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil. Verse 20. Whether the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Now, what this verse is saying is that this verse calls Jesus the forerunner. A forerunner is someone who runs ahead of you. One who runs ahead of you. He's a forerunner. If there's a forerunner, it means there are afterrunners. You see, one who runs ahead. Now listen. Jesus entered into heaven as a forerunner. Such a title is, it's such a profound title. Forerunner. Now the word forerunner is the Greek word prodomos. Now the word prodomos is a word for a servant. Now in those days, let me give you a scenario. If a king, is coming home. If a king is coming home, he doesn't just come home. There's a servant who runs ahead of the king to come home to announce to the citizens the movements of the king so they can prepare to receive the king. Praise God. So the king is on the way coming, but a servant just comes ahead. Then he announces to his homeland, how that he is coming, so they can get ready and prepare for him to come. In fact, in the ancient times, we called them the prodomos. So it beat my mind. It beat my mind. This verse beat my mind because Jesus is the king of kings. Is that not so? Jesus is the Lord of Lords. He's the overall God blessed forever. He's king of kings. Do you know that Jesus, the king, he went to heaven and he took the place of God. He took the place of God. He took the place of the prodomos, the servants, to announce to heaven the coming of the church. What it means is that even now, Jesus is announcing to heaven where the church has reached because we are going home very soon. So he's telling heaven the progress of the church. He's informing Apostle Paul and John Wesley and those who are going ahead of us, informing them the progress of the church. And Jesus, he doesn't mind. He took the place of the prodomos, the servants, to announce our coming. Of course, we are kings, but he's the king of kings. But the king of we, the kings, took the place of the servants and announced to heaven our progress and our coming. What manner of mind is this? Hallelujah. That's a lowly servant. Praise God. So I want you to know that he was, he said in the past, but even today, he's still a servant. How about the future? Let's see how Jesus will serve in the future. That's amazing. So you never change your mind to stop, to stop serving in the course of your life. Jesus will never stop serving. Let's see how he'll serve in the future. Luke chapter, chapter 12, verse 37. Luke chapter 12, verse 37. I want you to carefully see this verse. It's very powerful. It's Jesus speaking. Blessed are those servants whom the Lord, when he cometh, shall find watching. Are you following? Look at what he says. Verily I say unto you, that he shall get himself, that's the Lord, and make them six, make them to sit down to meet, and will come forth and serve them. Have you seen it? Maybe you're not seeing it. Can we all read it? Let's read it together. I want you to see it. What you are thinking is what the verse is. So I want us to read it together.
Speaker 2One, go. Verily I say unto you, that he shall get himself, and make them six, make them to sit down to meet, and will come forth and serve them.
Speaker 1And when shall this happen? This is called the Messianic Banquet. This is what happened in the millennial reign. You know, Jesus will come. Do you know that we are going to be reigning with Christ on earth for a thousand years? Praise God. So Jesus will come, and when he comes, something is going to happen on earth. There's going to be a banquet, the Messianic Banquet. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will be there. We'll all sit down at the banquet. And, you know, when Jesus is coming to the earth, he comes as a king of kings. I'm telling you that when he's coming, Revelation 19 describes his coming, the Bible says that he has a name written on his thigh, king of kings and lord of lords. He is clothed with a vesture, dipped in blood, and his name is called the word of God. And he was crowned with many crowns, and his eyes is like fire, and all of that. And he will come on the earth, take over the earth. After everything, there will be a millennial reign, the reign of Christ on earth for a thousand years. Now, Timothy said, something, 1 Timothy 6, 15, which in his times, he shall show who is the blessed and the only potentate, king of kings and lord of lords. At that time, he will show the whole world, he is going to reveal himself to the whole world, the one who is the ruler, or the one who has the dominion. The Bible says in his times, he will show who is the blessed and the only potentate, the one who has the dominion. The world will now see that, this Jesus is truly powerful, hallelujah. But it amazes me, because he will display his authority and his power. But during that, there's going to be a buffet, a buffet, you know a buffet, banquet, how many of you have gone for a buffet before? But this banquet is the biggest banquet ever. And you know what will happen, Jesus says, the Bible says, now let's go to our verse. He says, he himself, let's go to our verse, let's go back to our verse, Luke 12, verse 37. And make them sit down to meat, and we'll come forth and serve them. Doesn't this mean something great for you? Jesus himself will serve you. Jesus will serve us. The word serve, diakonio, is a word for a waiter at a restaurant. How a waiter will wait for you at a restaurant and ask you, what would you like to take? There's banquet, there is Jollof rice, there is fried rice, there is a chicken, there is a. So, which one do you. That's the word for serve, diakonio, like a waiter waiting on you to give you excellent service. I don't understand, actually. Jesus will serve, he said he will serve them. Praise the Lord. And look at the word, he'll get himself, And the same with death. with the same gap of a slave, of a servant. So even in the hereafter, in his reign, he's a servant king. You know, there are kings, when they are kings, they dominate, they manipulate, they intimidate. But the leadership and the rulership of Jesus is servant kingship. He's a servant king. He's a king out of what? He has a servant heart. Full of humility, full of beauty, full of splendor, full of magnificence. That's Jesus. Wow. That means that no matter the position you occupy, you should have a servant heart. This is Jesus we are talking about. Why would he save us at that time? I know on that day you say, Lord, don't save me. I want to save myself. He says, sit down, let me save you. Jesus will ask you, what food do you like? You say, Jesus, I say, Ghana. If there's food and a life soup, it will not be bad. Meanwhile, you are sitting by Charles Wesley. But it's amazing. You will still be serving. That means when we leave the place of service, we are leaving the place of God. Because that is his characteristic. That is his nature. This is his life. It's a sheer deception for us to come to a place we think we are big. We cannot serve again. It's an error. We are departing from the real life of God. Yeah. It's actually a worldly mindset. It's a worldly mentality. Hallelujah. Jesus is lovely. Jesus is lovely. He's lovely. He's all together lovely. Just think about him. This is your Jesus. This is your Jesus. Amazing. Jesus. They brought their children for him to touch them. Whenever you ask him to do something, he will go beyond. He didn't just touch them. He will raise them and make them sit on his lap. He's full of care. He's full of care. Hallelujah. Praise God. John chapter 13. John chapter 13. Let me tell you a story. One day, Jesus and the disciples were on their way. In Judea, the place was very dusty. And the shoes they wore, the sandals they wore was not like ours. It doesn't cover your leg fully. And they got inside. They got into the residence. Jesus' feet was dusty. The disciples were not smart enough to wash the feet of the master. Peter is the eldest. I'm sure Peter said, John is here. Why should I be doing this? John is young. I'm old. I'm married. I have a wife. Why should I wash the master's feet? Peter didn't do it. Andrew didn't do it. James didn't do it. Thomas said, I doubt you think I'll do it. Jesus gave them the chance. Nobody did it. He says himself. He took away his garment and gave it himself. Hmm. Now let's see verse 3. He raised it from supper and laid aside his garments. Can you imagine? He laid aside. The same verse. Let's do the same verse. Laid aside his garment and took a towel and gave it himself. He gave it himself. And washed their feet and cleaned their feet with what he was clothed with. And cleaned their feet. Now that is wild. Now if you know history, what happened in those days was that when the master comes to the house, the ordinary regular servant is not the one who cleans the master's feet. It was a work that was reserved for the servants who had the lowest status. Ordinarily, they made Gentile slaves wash the feet of the masters. Because Gentiles were lowly esteemed. So it wasn't even ordinary servants, but the lowest monk servants who actually were responsible in washing the feet of the masters. Of their masters. And Jesus, Jesus, sat down, washed their feet. And the very thing with which he was girded, he cleaned their feet one by one. The master took the place of the lowest slave and cleaned their feet. Now look at how this verse begins. Now let's go back to verse 1. Verse 1. Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come, that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. You know what it means? Having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. When the Bible says he loved them to the end, he's not talking about the element of time. He's not saying he loved them from the beginning unto the end. It's not the concept of time. The word end here means he loved them to the uttermost degree. Or he loved them to the farthest extent. That means he loved them so well that there is no more he could do to love them again. Like he exhausted what love is. He exhausted love. That's how much he says love them. After this sentence, he took towel and began to wash their feet. The deepest expression of love is in saving. The Bible just tells us he loved them to the end. Describing the uttermost extent or the farthest degree to which he has loved them. Then once again, the next verse, he washed their feet. So, saving one another is the deepest expression of love. Praise God. Hallelujah. And let me show you the last verse. Let's go to verse 13 and 14. The same chapter, 13 and 14. So, if we save one another, we are loving each other. Look at what Jesus said. Look at what he said. He called me Master and Lord and he said, well, for so I am. Okay. He called me Master and Lord for so I am. Verse 14. Verse 14. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, he also ought to wash one another's feet. He also ought to wash. He gave them an example. I, your Lord and Master, take a look at what I've done. He ought to wash one. Now, the word ought here in the Greek, ophelio, is actually a debt you owe. To owe a debt. It's like owing someone money. He ought to. The Greek word says it's a word for owing someone. A debt is an owe. That's what it means. You remember, in Romans 13 verse 8, the Bible says, owe no man anything. The word owe is the same word for ought. It's the same word in the Greek. It says, owe no man anything but love one another. That means that the one sitting by yourself, you are in debt to the one sitting by your side. You are in debt to love your neighbor. Praise God. The same word is here. It says, ye ought to serve one another. That means that you are forever indebted to your neighbor. What you owe your neighbor is service. Tell your neighbor and tell him, I'm indebted to you. Say, ye ought. So, you are under. So, you are owing him. Tell your neighbor, you are owing me. And I'm owing you. It means to owe, actually. Ye ought. So, you are under a debt sentence to serve one another. Ye ought. So, you are owing me. I'm owing you. You are owing me. What I owe you is service. What you owe me is service. You have to wash my feet. I have to serve you. I owe you. Praise God. This is from Jesus himself. And listen. The word ought. You may say that, okay, look at how I helped my brother yesterday. Once I've helped you, I'm done. No. There's a kind of debt you can never finish paying. The word ought here in the Greek is in the present tense. Present indicative active tense. That means it is forever going. If you pay your debt today, tomorrow you are owing. So, it's a debt you can never discharge. It's in the present continuous tense. You can never. So, you serve today, tomorrow you have to serve. So it's a life of continual Death. I'm telling you that if we do this, the power of God will manifest amongst us. The revival we are looking for will be blessed for among us. We are not seeking our own glory. We are seeking His glory. Saving each other. Oh. Oh. The glory of which God gave us to me, I'm giving them that they may be one. Even us, we are one. Oneness actually releases the glory of God. And service with a good heart, one to another, will release the power of God. I'm telling you, with that unprecedented revival we have been looking for, if we just practice the act of seven, one to another, we will see the move of God as never before. May we see it in this ministry in Jesus' name. Jesus says, let this mind be in you. So, it doesn't happen automatically. You have to let that mind, let this mind be in you. So, it is intentional. It is in the renewing of the mind. Naturally, the flesh is proud. The flesh is self-conceited. But if you can let this mind be in you, he made himself of no reputation. Don't make yourself of reputation. The one you are following, he made himself of no reputation. He self-emptied himself. Ma mo ko to la ta ta. If you know these things and do them, ha pi ai. Hallelujah. Are you in love with the master? Lift up your hands and begin to pray. Oh, rabba ba sha ta ra ma na. Thank you, Jesus. Oh, thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus.
